there’s just smth so… healing abt sethoscara.

as someone who also deals with immense trauma, let me explain:

first of all - as much as i love kazuscara as well, im starting to love sethoscara more simply bc of this fact: sethos has no ties whatsoever to wanderer’s past.

like i said above, i also deal with a lot of trauma. it has been very hard to overcome, and i still struggle with it even years after it happened. i do still interact with some of the ppl involved (bc they’re members of my family and i have long forgiven them), but i have met some wonderful ppl who have no ties to my past or trauma whatsoever and being around them without them knowing of said trauma is so… freeing. it’s kind of healing, in a way, too.

it’s like a breath of fresh air when u finally take that step away from those who know about or were involved in ur hurt, and get to know others who are not aware. bc those ppl who are unaware or weren’t there when it happened don’t judge u or see u differently bc of what happened in ur past.

and i think sethos would help wanderer take a step towards healing from all his trauma. sethos isn’t aware of who wanderer was before. he only just met him recently, he’s completely unaware of wanderer’s trauma and his past.

that in and of itself could feel so so so refreshing to wanderer - having someone who doesn’t know a thing and has no ties whatsoever to his previous identity.

nahida is probably helping him heal as well, but she knows. she’s aware. she knew him when he was still scaramouche, the sixth of the fatui harbingers; therefore her thoughts on him are different as opposed to someone who is just meeting wanderer for the very first time and doesn’t know a thing about him.

same goes for the traveler (and paimon technically ig). they know. they have ties to who he was before.

kazuha, although he never met wanderer before the irminsul wipe and is still unaware of his true identity, has ties to wanderer. if they were to meet and kazuha possibly found out abt wanderer’s true identity, it could cause kazuha to judge him based on his previous incarnation instead of his current identity.

but not sethos. sethos judges him not based on who he was before, but who he is at the current moment. and his thoughts on him will be determined based on his current words and actions.

*it’s important to note that i am not trying to start any ship wars or bash on kazuscara - bc frankly, i love kazuscara!! they’re my sillies!! but i am a multishipper, so ofc im going to giggle over sethoscara as well! AND compare their dynamics :))

Man obviously there’s a bunch of really unfortunate consequences to Elon’s mishandling of twitter but the thing that really got to me after a while was how lonely it feels to use the platform now. I only follow my friends and a couple of artists yet my whole dash is filled with total strangers and blue checkmarks trying to farm engagement. There’s an unblockable ad every three tweets (two if you’re counting the bots trying sell me something). There’s no lingering on interesting videos cause they all autoscroll tiktok style (with ads every 3 vids). Following someone means zilch so if I wanna see what the friends I use the platform for have been up to I have to manually go to their accounts & half the time the first tweet I see is an announcement that they’re leaving. It’s such a dead mining town of a website, but instead of dying because the mines just naturally dried out and people left for greener pastures, it’s dying because the newly appointed nepobaby Sheriff got really into building a 7-story mall in the middle of the desert without ever stopping to think what it’d do to the local economy and wildlife, or even if anyone needed an apple store and three taco bells in the middle of the outback.

I love how changing Claudia and Louis race to black ends up focusing and exploring more deeply into how vampires often exploit the marginalized (which is just what most people do but more dramatized since it’s fiction)

they’re not intentionally hating and using them because they’re black, they’re doing those things because they can get away with it more. Since people don’t care for black people’s well being, they can get away with any wrong done to them way more, they can leech and leech off of them until there is nothing left with little to no consequence! This was a minor, unexplored theme in the first book which was neglected which is sad since I feel like it adds a lot more to the vampires. By the show changing both Louis and Claudia to be black, it ends up pointing how easily people can get away with violence against black people especially during history! It shows that the vampires, just like humans, can be bigoted without an intense hate for the minority group in question. It points out how bigotry can be both subconscious, accidental and most horrifically, done just for power since they get away with it completely

Why I think P, canonically, never wins to the Nameless puppet.

[again, not really from a lore reasoning, but from more of a storytelling interpretation.]

I think it's because the devs didn't want it to become P vs. Carlo.

I think maybe they wanted to dissuade the idea that P needed to win against Carlo's memory, that it's about "defeating Carlo" [I mean it kind of is but not like that], or to "prove" himself. It's not about who is the "better" one. It is Geppetto who is pitting the boys against each other, not anyone else.

It also shows us that even when P "wins" (which he could never do), it would never have earned Geppetto's respect or love; he still curses us out in the Free ending. This is not a fight to win Geppetto's affection, nor is it a fight for P to prove himself, this is a fight for his life. I think having P win victoriously against Carlo's dead body could have completely superseded whatever point they wanted to make.

P only survives because of Geppetto's interference. He would have unquestionably lost if it weren't for Geppetto suddenly blocking the move. Then they immediately dispel any notion that Geppetto did it out of care for us, to both the audience, and to P. The puppet is stopped just long enough for P to strategically grab the heart (He went for the head earlier). At best, I think it's meant to be interpreted as a tie.

Another thought: You know how the item description says it could likely have felt only hatred? I think it also may have been Nameless' hatred that cost it the second win. It's too enamoured with Geppetto's death that it's distracted enough for P to take the grab.

Like. Yeah he's the ultimate lifeform. He's immortal and literally made to be immune to most if not all diseases. But

The only way he would have been immune (based solely on what canonical info there is on how the metal virus works) is if he was inorganic or dead, which he obviously isn't. And no just bc he was made in a lab doesn't mean he's not organic

Sure, they probably could've made him immune to it in some way, like say the high amounts of chaos energy in him burn it off on contact or something. But how to get rid of it is never fully explained. All we know is that something about sonic's speed burned it off for him, but it's not explained further as far as I can remember and the virus eventually mutated to become resistant to that anyway

Going super seemed to get rid of it completely for sonic tho, so the cure could've been chaos energy after all. Or it could've been like, chaos control warping time or the warp topaz warping reality to sonic and silver's will or something. Again, it's never fully explained, and who knows if shadow would've had the time to fight it off or cure himself anyway considering the circumstances of his infection

Anyway. Tldr shadow is living flesh and the virus infects all living flesh. Him getting infected makes sense based on what we understand of the virus. That's all

the school arc to me is so good because it drags ciel out of his position as a powerful figure and literally places him in the shoes of the person he could have been. the circus arc ALSO drags him out of his position as big bad queens watch dog/head of the phantomhive estate but the school arc feels like a mockery of a future that never was. this is what he could have been had his parents not died. and even then its NOT because he will never be that kid.
