#Honestly #I think there is no real answer #We can search for things to prove and disprove both sides #but there is a thing such as perception blindness #and like the reason kids are the most reliable sources for ghost shit #is because they see with unclouded eyes #Having no beliefs that contradicted reality #they just see what was there #I was one of those kids #and i wrote and drew everything down and talked about it and went to the psychiatrist and had very deep conversations about the brain #so like your brain literally can only see what it can believe and comprehend #if its too much for you your brain will just autocorrect it into a different memory #im not even joking #so a lot of people have seen something and just flat out forgotten it because it was too much and your brain just noped it #because you saw something that #contradicted reality and you're old enough that your brain can dissect that and go no thank you oh my gods id rather lie to myself #so yeah besides that its a cultural thing and a mental capacity thing #and I believe in them #ive seen some shit #dbdjdhdhhf

Not to preach to the choir but I wonder if people generally realize that AI models like ChatGPT aren't, like, sifting through documented information when you ask it particular questions. If you ask it a question, it's not sifting through relevant documentation to find your answer, it is using an intensely inefficient method of guesswork that has just gone through so many repeated cycles that it usually, sometimes, can say the right thing when prompted. It is effectively a program that simulates monkeys on a typewriter at a mass scale until it finds sets of words that the user says "yes, that's right" to enough times. I feel like if it was explained in this less flattering way to investors it wouldn't be nearly as funded as it is lmao. It is objectively an extremely impressive technology given what it has managed to accomplish with such a roundabout and brain-dead method of getting there, but it's also a roundabout, brain-dead method of getting there. It is inefficient, pure and simple.

#the notes on this post are about to get sooooo annoying #this doesnt touch on the fact that AI is stealing artist's jobs which i think is the real biggest harm of AI #but like #god #just take a minute and think about how stupid the current use-cases for AI are when you consider how it gets to those conclusions #this guesswork has its place in fields where guesswork is necessary like when screening for potential health issues in the medical field #but the benefit of the medical field is that when you get a false positive you can just do further testing to confirm the initial reading #that's called a second opinion and it is how the medical field is structured fundamentally #if you screen someone for cancer and it comes out positive #but it turns out they didnt really have cancer #that's fine! that's good news and it's good that you were at least wary of it!#but so many other applications for AI do not have this leeway where incorrect answers have further reaching consequences #and more importantly AI isn't stealing the fucking jobs of doctors!!!#although jesus i really wish doctors would stop using AI to take notes for patients #yes please lets give all my personal medical info to a big machine that stores and processes literally everything it hears #im sure there would never be far reaching consequences if that machine ever had a data breach #blah

Last week I saw a lot of those "Happy Birthday Shadow" posts but didn't see any for Rouge despite the fact that based on character debut dates they actually have the same exact birthday, a fact I personally find extremely funny especially given how unlikely I think either of them is to ever notice it

Fictional stabbing, torture, cannibalism, stalking, and murder are all fine but you draw the line at rape, incest, and underage ships?

Why???

I don't want anyone to get stabbed irl just like I don't want anyone to get raped irl and reading about either one of them isn't going to change my mind on that.

All of the above topics are dark and taboo things that make people uncomfortable. They also all have a right to be explored in fiction in all different ways.

Why is violence so normalized that even the most staunch anti can have fun playing with the dark themes of murder but when it comes to rape, exploring it in fiction makes you a criminal?

They always go for the old excuse of "you can portray this but only in certain ways or else you're normalizing/glamorizing/romanticizing/fetishizing it which is bad" but ONLY when it comes to sexual things.

Horror movies? You can woobify the killers, ship them together, joke about them, and write killer x reader fanfic til your fingers fall off. That's all okay, everyone knows that watching a horror movie or crushing on a fictional killer won't turn you into an irl murderer. Duh!

So why can they understand that for violence but not other controversial topics? If you can understand that watching a slasher movie or writing Billy Loomis x reader fanfic doesn't turn you into a murderer, then why do you think someone who reads for Billdip or ships Katara x Sokka is a real life sex criminal?

I doubt we'll ever get a real answer because there isn't one. It just boils down to "taboo stuff I can handle is fine and can be explored freely, taboo stuff I can't handle is gross and has no place in fiction".

Not to bring Jason into everything (I can't help it I love him), but the thought of Batman and Ghostmaker acting like bitter divorcees arguing over the custody of their anti-hero crime lord son is so funny to me. Like plot twist the main reason Bruce is upset about the killing is actually that his baby boy is taking after his asshole ex-husband and not HIM. It's not FAIR.

Bruce, who was always taking pride in the fact that Jason is *his* carbon copy, starting to notice certain parallels between Red Hood and Ghost-Maker. and suddenly, it is not about no-kill rule any more.

like, God, he loves Khoa, but Jason is his baby, alright?

and Khoa? well, at first, Khoa can't care less about the whole kids & family stuff. he doesn't like kids. Bruce's kids are even more so. he is here *solely* for his dear princess. but the moment he starts noticing that this pisses Bruce off? he is suddenly very interested in Jason Todd!

Jason doesn't have a specific opinion on Khoa, to be honest, but he also notices what is going on between these two and agrees to play along with the whole thing.

Jason: You know, this is *so* refreshing to finally have someone so relatable.

Khoa: Agreed.

Khoa, smirking: It is almost like you are a SON to me.

Jason, grinning: Right? I could almost imagine you being my DAD.

Bruce, who is eavesdropping on their conversation: I am this close to hiring Talia to kill Joker so Jason could come home to his REAL dad.

Bruce Wayne had a child that was somehow kidnapped right out of the hospital just hours after being born. He of them ever stopped looking despite how cold the trail had grown.

Years later there is some rouge attack and a civilian child was injured and taken to the hospital. Bruce does a DNA test on the blood found at the scene and concludes that the child is actually his long lost kid.

Dani was planning to sneak out of the hospital the moment the doctors stopped looking at her. Then Bruce Wayne of all people comes in and claims that she is his long lost child. She knows that this is very impossible because she is a clone, but Bruce won't listen to her and she really doesn't want to explain the clone thing to a "normal" stranger.

This does brings up a lot of questions about how Danny ended up living with the Fentons though.

#I think Selina is the best choice for a mom here purely because I think she and Dani would be amazing together #They would get on like a house on fire. Danny is more Bruce's son but Dani? Oh she is very much Selina's daughter. You feel me?#For this plot to work either Danny or Dani needs to be trans because Bruce would notice if his missing kid is a different sex #I have no real preference which but if we make Dani the trans one we can explain why she is so short for her age (puberty blockers)#Damian is gender affirming for Dani by telling her that he is “still the only blood son.” Dani holding back tears “Thanks bro.”#Danny would be older than Damian. But Dani isn't Danny and thus isn't as old as Bruce thinks she is. She and Damian are the same age (kinda #BUT she is oh so willing to lie and accept this fake age PURELY so she can be “older” than Damian. which pisses him off #when the truth comes out he absolutely abuses the fact that he is actually the older one to be a little shit #Dani keeps trying to run away but even with her powers she somehow keeps getting caught and dragged back #The bats are trying so hard to figure out where Dani has been all this time but she refuses to give straight answers #How DID Danny end up with the Fentons? IDK but I think the LOA is involved somehow #How does Danny feel about this realization? I am not sure about that either. I think at first he wants not part in a rich guy's life #Maybe he changes his mind later. I don't think I'll elaborate much on what exactly happened during the Tails vs Metal fight, but the basics are that Metal jumped him in his workshop, and that the only reason things got so messy was that Tails put up a HELL of a fight. It's so, so important to me that Tails is treated as the competent fighter that he is, even if he does lose this specific confrontation.
