Ik you already have an angsty wip serie(?) with Kon and Jon, but I was wondering if besides that, you have more. Like- one that involves kinda the whole Kent or El family and a very angsty, 'Holy shit I feel like I'm unlovable and worthless' 'but truly isn't Kon, bc like- idk like yeah that but like they are all Kon & Jon angst and family angst as well but won't leave me in shambles at the end because everything is resolved and- yeah I'm rambling, sorry, but yeah!

. . . . . . so ngl "Kon feels like shit about himself and people treat him right" is not an uncommon theme in my WIPs, haha, and the Kents/Els are ABSOLUTELY not exempt from that role. There are also technically at least a few answers to this question that are MAJOR spoilers for the involved WIPs ( and another that is a WIP I'm debating scrapping and rewriting, tbh ), but excluding those two ( and also "Kon and Jon and brother issues", since I assume that's the one you were talking about in your ask ), the most-like-that WIPs I think I've got are . . . gonna require a cut, actually, so you can find the list of relevant WIPs and their elevator pitches down behind that, hahaha.

fyi, some of these are Kon's POV and some of them are outsider POV and they all occur at various times in his timeline and in various alternate timelines/AUs, and also contain varying levels of angst/feelings of worthlessness and varying levels of Kents/Els; kinda just depends!

"alpha Kon and his supermom" has a bit of this vibe with a mind-controlled-into-feral-drop!Kon struggling to work through some complicated thought processes he is not in any state to be working through while omega!Superwoman is just trying to take care of her inexplicably-feral cisswap clone who she has complicated maternal feelings about, featuring Kara and Lois in supporting roles and mention of Jon. "Clark panic-adopts his teenage clones (yes, including the supervillain one)" is largely Match-centric but Kon is having a mostly-quiet version of this crisis in the background while Match is having a more internalized-dehumanization-focused one in the foreground. (( chrono || non-chrono ))

"you found me when no one else was looking" is an actually complete fic that is mostly Clark and Conner from YJA figuring out that Kryptonians do not experience emotional attachment the same way humans do and the resulting trauma they both have/are having about it, but also includes Jonathan and Martha in supporting roles ( there's technically also an in-progress sequel/side story with Match kicking around in WIP-form on my blog, but like, different vibe there and the original fic is a complete story without it ). "Jon and Martha, professional soulparents" has a brand-new "Superman" feeling kind of shitty/worthless about himself while simultaneously finding out that he has soulparents and the process of him getting gently but FIRMLY adopted by a very determined pair of small-town farmers while he is mostly just waiting for the other shoe to drop and them to realize everything that's wrong with him. "Knockout gets knocked up" is about the consequences of Hawaii-era Superboy having slept with Knockout during the "Losin' It" arc and accidentally getting her pregnant, and him then becoming a teen dad while about five minutes old himself and feeling like a fuck-up and a burden who has zero concept of why anyone might think HE needed any parenting. Currently just includes Clark; will eventually include Martha and Jonathan. (( chrono || non-chrono ))

"Kon is too trans for this pregnancy shit" starts out with angsty closeted!Kon freaking out about what the Kents are gonna think of him and several of his life choices and life NON-choices. (( chrono || non-chrono ))

"Krypton lives and Kara did not sign up for this" is an AU where intergalactic diplomat Kal-El accidentally got cloned a couple times and then low-key clonenapped said clones back to Krypton and has left them in his older cousin's custody while he's off fighting with the council about letting the House of El keep them and General Kara Zor-El is just NOT equipped for fostering a pair of teenage metaweapons who don't even like each OTHER, much less her or Kal or literally anyone on Krypton whatsoever. "the Last Son of Krypton meets Hypertime Kon" has a Superman from an alternate reality meeting comics!Kon when the other falls out of Hypertime after the Black Zero arc and immediately getting the wrong idea about exactly what Kon is to HIS Superman. (( chrono || non-chrono ))

"omega!Clark and hungry!Kon", AKA the omegaverse AU where omega!Clark just wants to nurse his pups and Kon doesn't realize he counts. Loose canon-smash between the comics and the animated Reign of the Supermen movie; focuses mostly on Clark's relationship with Kon but also includes some of the dynamics between Kon and 10yo!Jon and Lois. "the one where Kon's soulmark isn't fake" is about early-era Superboy's fake soulmark that he belatedly realized was just a copy of Superman's and, I'm sure TOTALLY unrelatedly, Lois Lane and Clark Kent's extreme concern as to why their unmet soulkid has stopped sending anything through their soulmark empathy bond. Hehe okay here it’s is, I sort of forgot about it I finished it like a week ago, this is more just yapping than anything, I might turn it into a proper fic at some point :)

After the final break (electra pov)

Okay okay so, i like to think that after their final break porter had done or said something that literally shattered leccy completely. And it hurts them so bad that a day or two after they start full on spiraling and going down a rabbit hole of stuff like ‘i won't ever be able to trust someone again’ ‘why would he say that about me’ and eventually end up to the conclusion that they had done something wrong and that something was wrong with them internally / something wrong with their system so they try to figure out what they did wrong OR what's wrong with them. Then fast forward like two hours and the components have not heard anything from leccy and are getting worried so they send in killerwatt to find out what's going on and he walks into leccy sitting on the floor with their hands inside of them pulling wires out of themselves trying to find the problem, their like in full tears and the tears are getting onto the wires making MORE problems and kw is just standing there frozen in horror with no clue on what to do because their boss is sitting in front of him literally pulling themselves apart and he is NOT trained for this.

Electra is completely oblivious to killerwatt being there and just keeps pulling at wires, just as kw starts walking over, leccy notices him and just as they look in his direction they pull out and accidentally snap the wire that controls their emotions and help them regulate, this sort of severs their emotions. They just kinda stop and look up at KW who is in shock at what he's just watched electra do because he knows what wire they just destroyed and they know had dangerous this situation has just become, as a singular tear escapes their eyes that are like full of horror because they ALSO know what they did, and it's sort of what their aim was, if they cannot feel anything then they can't be hurt by anyone again.

KW sits down in front of them and all theses wires and grabs their hands both to stop them from doing any more harm and to start trying to ground leccy who has literally no ability to process emotion but is somehow the most panicked they will ever be, KW starts frantically calling for wrench and the other components because, well, electras insides are all over the floor. While wrench and all that tend to electra, kw just tries to keep holding leccys hand both for electra and for his own comfort because my man is traumatized, eventually volta or joule notices how traumatized kw is and drags him away.

Killerwatt tries to stay as close to Electra as he can while they recover, the other components have to pull him away to make sure he takes care of himself instead of watching over electra.

I like to think that one of the things about leccys recovery from the breakdown is to do with their emotions, considering that they really went and fucked them up in the breakdown and needed they systems that control their emotions to be replaced they needed to learn lot of things emotionaly again and it kind of changed them as a person, they become a lot nicer and more of a people pleaser, trying theri best ot not hurt someone but also at the same time not letting themselves get to close to other people after they are cleared to be out and about again. Killerwatt his slightly hurt by this but wont show it, over the time frame of a few months KW and electra start to become closer as leccy finds that KW is really good at grounding them when they start to panic or get overwhelmed / overstimulated and slowly opens up to him emotionally. KW at one point does want to talk to electra about his feelings for him but is too scared to because he knows what electra is capable of doing if things work out.

About, i would say 5 or 6 months after the breakdown electra calls for KW late at night and just sort of asks him to sit down next to them on the couch/bed without saying anything else, electra could feel like a panic attack could happen and didnt want to be alone, as they start to feeling like more overwhelmed with their thoughts they sort of interlock pinkies with KW before he catches on to why electra had called him in and properly holds his hand, electra ends up resting their head on killerwatts shoulder and KW just lets them rest for a moment before asking them whats wrong, and in slightly shaky voice they respond with “killerwatt i remember” and KW looks down at them and asks them “remember what?” electra looks up at them with glazed eyes and just bluntly says “i remember how it feels to sit there and rip out my own wires” before they start to weakly sob, although this isn't an odd sight for KW after the breakdown, it's odd for electra to talk about what's upset them so KW pulls them into a proper hug knowing that the physical touch and deep pressure helps electra alot. Electra ends up falling asleep on top of KW and he also eventually drifts off, when electra wakes up killerwatt is still asleep and they kinda have a bit of a ‘holy shit is that what love feels like again’ (they definitely felt this kind of love with porter but as i mentioned before, they had to relearn their emotions) , when killerwatt wakes up leccy apologizes for being an inconvenience and for calling KW in so late the night before but in response KW just hugs them tighter.

I've kinda seen some pushback to the idea of representation in media and I don't necessarily think it's bad to point out actual rights are more important than Disney's thousandth first gay character that's fine, but I've had a LOT of people comment on my works about asexual characters and tell me what I wrote changed their life-and it's always that phrase- because they now have the language to describe what they feel. I've had people who ARENT ace or aro comment that what I wrote finally made a concept they didn't understand make sense, or that the way I explained things was interesting and enlightening and I'm kind of a mediocre writer who hasn't written anything in ages.

Like idk, if reading something from a writer who is fucking around and only somewhat talented can genuinely impact someone because they've not seen anything like them reflected back at them in life or media I don't think pushing for representation in media is as "needless" as some people seem to think and caring about that doesn't mean you don't care about more "important" (although if you think seeing people like you in media ISNT important it's because you already have that representation or are privileged enough to not care if you do, in which case maybe pipe down) stuff. Hell, I even got a Facebook message ages ago from someone who found a comment I left in an ace group about QPR's and what they meant to me and how I perceived them and the person no joke said what I wrote two years before they even found it changed their life forever because they finally knew what kind of relationship they actually wanted.

So like sure, of course there's always bigger fish to fry them diversity in media (you know, like diversity in real life lol) but I don't think it's as frivolous as some people are beginning to act like it is. At least not if you're an aspec person it's not, I STILL don't see ace characters almost ever and I'll bet my whole everything if I asked a writer of a show why they'd tell me that EVERYONE has to be in a sexual relationship and characters that aren't won't sell and are boring- I say this because in film school I had a teacher TELL ME every character needed to basically be sex obsessed and when I pointed out a GREAT MANY CHARACTERS are not revolved around sex (Supernatural stars two brothers, I pointed out) and when she asked if I had love interests I was like ??? That doesn't matter- using my aforementioned supernatural example almost all their love interests die or get mind wiped because at the end of the day that's not what the story was about. So actually I think writers who act like that teacher need like 50 reality checks, and representation in stories isn't unimportant and also support indie writers you'll probably find more funky shit there then Disney anyway lmao.

And also even the asexual characters I DO see in media don't remind me at all of myself even if I appreciate the effort, but they never feel real or genuine and their sexuality doesn't get a lot of exploration so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I actually could use more media focused on characters that I can genuinely see my sexuality reflected in in a meaningful and narratively impactful way because I've got nothing.

one day i might want to make a master post with all of my AO3-user tips because (and this is a toxic trait of mine ik) i get REALLY irritated with a lot of ‘advice’ posts that just repeat the same basic information in a patronizing way without offering like... actually specific input. 

and i think ao3 as a whole is a relatively easy site to use you just gotta get the hang of it. in a sense i would really liken it to tumblr because one of the things about tumblr is that you can’t just join the site and then hit an explore page directly, that’s not really how this place works, you usually have to populate your dash with blogs. with ao3 it is significantly harder to just search up ships and works imo, it’s best if you already have favorite tags and how you do that is finding specific fics and then going from there and exploring in a branch off method. so once you use it for a while it’s extremely comfortable and remarkably convenient it’s just not really the easiest from the get go.
