Kira has a nightmare, one night when she's staying at the O'Brien's. Miles and Keiko, sleeping in the other room, don't hear her get up - but Molly does.

And Molly, being clever and kind, knows exactly what to do when someone has a nightmare. (Or, at least, she knows what her parents always do for her.) So she sits Kira down and brings her a glass of warm milk, and sits by her side as she drinks it.

Then, she takes Kira by the hand and leads her - to her parents bedroom. "I always sleep with mommy and daddy after a nightmare," she explains, when Kira stops outside the door. "It helps! Mommy chases the scary things away. And Daddy is warm."

"Molly," Kira says quietly, a little embarrassed, "I don't think your parents want me in their bed. Even if I did have a nightmare."

"No, they won't mind!" Molly assures.

Then, of course, Miles wakes up.

"Molly?" he asks, voice rough with sleep. "Did you have a nightmare?"

"No, but Miss Kira did!"

And now Keiko's awake, too, sitting up and saying, "Nerys? Are you alright?"

Mortified, Kira says, "Yes, I'm fine, I was just - on my way back to bed. Molly brought me here. I'm - sorry for waking you. I'll just be-"

"You can stay, if you want," Miles offers.

Kira doesn't quite think she heard him right. "What?"

"You can sleep here, if you think it might help," Keiko says.

"Or even if you don't!" Miles adds.

Kira opens her mouth, then closes it again. "I, uh-"

Keiko gets up, and takes Kira, gently, by the hand. Her palm is soft, Kira can't help but notice.

"Brr, it's freezing out here!" Keiko says, tugging Kira along. "You'd better get in before you catch your death of cold. Miles is practically a furnace, so you'll be nice and warm with us."

"And, Molly, you'd best go back to bed, too. You've got school in the morning," Miles says, as Keiko bundles Kira into the bed between them.

As Molly makes her way out, Keiko swings a lazy arm over Kira's back. "Sleep," she hums. "We'll be here in the morning."

Kira, feeling warm and cared for and more than a little overwhelmed, does.

relistening to the audiobook for Midnight Sun and had the thought of why didn’t the Cullens just say they were homeschooled? all of them clearly HATED going to high school and homeschooled kids get stereotyped as weird so why not just do that?? plus it wouldn't stop Bella from still thinking Edward was hot and mysterious and eventually falling for him and learning his secret.

And idk if it's moreso a crackship or a rarepair that only works in an AU (HACKS up Starstruck), but Reggie's line of "...and I hope Ollie made it out too. I hope a lot of things." It's totally me reading into it but like,,,,I want them to talk because Ollie is not dead to me in my heart of hearts.

Maybe the only change is like Reggie taps into the communication on the radio in Hot Water instead of using the earpiece, so Ollie ends up hearing him also? And they end up getting along really well (with Reggie having to jump through a couple hoops to be like "haha what agency..."). There's an Agency base in the South-East coast of Australia and maybe the Agency ends up adopting him after he washes up on the shore with the escape pod (after HEAVY questioning).

hey. hey someone tell me why they had Naruhodou offhandedly mention that he'd probably fall for someone if they saved him from a life threatening situation and then later in the same game had Itonokogiri save him from a life threatening situation, and also being the only character who's saved him from life threatening situations multiple times throughout the trilogy. why did Mayoi joke about Naruhodou and Itonokogiri being A Thing two (2) times in this game and Naruhodou's reaction both times is a moment of hesitation before quietly denying it, instead of his usual hard and fast snapback with a sound effect when Mayoi says something he thinks is ridiculous. what am I supposed to do with this. I wasn't supposed to be here. hey listen to me-

"Well..." Emerald quietly muttered to herself, reading something from her scroll in the midst of what was supposed to be their date--and Ilia could only just begin to see the tell tale signs of another glare coming onto her partner's face.

"Merc you absolute idiot..." Spitting, Ilia leaped a smidgen in her seat as Emerald's scroll was slammed down into the table. The green-haired woman fell back into her chair, arms folding across her front with a tired agitation.

A small blink passed over Ilia before she sighed, "H-hey?" Her hands twisting in her lap as she fought herself from changing any telltale colours of anxiety or fear. "Are you okay, Gem?"

Staunchly, as if realizing where and who she was with, Emerald shook her head with a slight mop at her brow. "A-ah, yes, babe. S-sorry." Leaning forward to their shared table, Emerald's expression twisted into a half smile half wince. "Just having issues with Merc getting all settled down here."

It was touching how much care the former thief had in her heart for her former accomplice, now complicated coworker. Ilia smiled, reaching her hand across the table and taking the larger palm of her partner's in her own.

Looking over Emerald's impeccable face, Ilia shook her head. "You don't need to apologize. But we are on a date to get your mind off of that stuff." She bowed her head slightly to the side to emphasise the point, drawing a blush over Emerald as she did so. "I mean, what's the worst he could be doing in one evening, Em? Burn his kitchen down?"

A series of sputtering laughter, slightly too loud for their setting, and doubly blustering, spat from Emerald as she nodded. "You'd be surprised, Ill." Shaking her head as she further snickered. "This one time, he actually burned a whole roll of paper towel cooking bacon-." Emerald had to cut herself off, in between more laughter coming over her and the look her partner was giving her.

Ilia's other hand had folded up beneath her chin, a lazy smile over her face, and a half-lit warmness in here eyes as they poised themselves onto Emerald. It took her a moment, but eventually Ilia had realized Emerald had stopped talking.

Though her hand remained holding onto Emerald's, the one beneath her chin had dropped to dot a napkin at the corner of her lips--despite them neither having gotten food or drinks yet. "S-sorry," Ilia "You haven't laughed in a long time, and I guess I was staring 'cause I forgot how that looked like." Which only provoked Ilia to turn a brilliant pink.

While Ilia panicked, however, Emerald found her chest and shoulders finally lose their pressure. Sighing warmly, Emerald gripped Ilia's hand a little tighter. "Ill?" She asked once, having to repeat herself a couple more times before the emblazoned chameleon turned back to her. "You know I really like you right? Like really like you?"

"Every day, and every day I feel like I might faint." The reply came a little bluntly, but it was followed fast by a series of sputtering laughter from Ilia which only gave way for Emerald to continue her own as well. "Lets just enjoy our date?? And forget that I am head over heels?"

"Then you would have to forget that I am as well, and where's the fun in that?" Emerald smiled with a shake of her head.

Started working on the second draft of Sirena and Tobias' half of Strange Violence and I'm having some emotions about the teen versions of these fuckers. Especially since when I think about them I'm almost exclusively thinking about the versions of them in their mid to late 20s rather than like...terrified teenagers who don't yet know the rules of this mess they're stuck in

holy crap okay so

I'm two episodes into Kaos

normally I keep my expectations pretty minimal because, let's be real, the Internet - and especially Tumblr - has a tendency to severely overhype new series to be way better than they actually are and it often leaves me sitting there like "that's it? that's what people were freaking out over for weeks?? that was just a bunch of cheap ships and tropes that i've seen 123785902380 times before" LMAO

BUT thankfully compared to other series like Hazbin Hotel and The Amazing Digital Circus, I haven't been worn out on excessive fandom exposure prior to watching Kaos, so I didn't really know what to expect going in besides what folks have told me so far - it's a modern-day Greek epic, and it stars Jeff Goldblum as Zeus (which is, unsurprisingly, peak casting).

That said, I'm very pleased to say that so far, the show is absolutely blowing me away. The set designs, characterizations, weaving of all the players into a central narrative led by a very coy narrator, all of it feels both refreshing and respectful to the source material at the same time.

so uh yeah that LO animated TV show... we have reason to believe now that it's gotten picked up by Amazon Prime, at least according to the showrunner's LinkedIn and posting history from February of this year that seems to imply LO may have been picked up by Amazon-

(but still, nothing's really been confirmed because they're being so tight-lipped about this you'd almost think it's because there isn't a show happening at all cough)

But even then, that means at best we still won't see anything of the LO TV show adaption for another 2-3 years, depending on how production goes.

Why am I talking about LO right now? Well it should be obvious - Kaos double-whammied LO by beating it to the punch at its own game.

I mean, just look at the creative choices alone in the design of the Underworld and its rulers, our beloved Hades and Persephone.

And yes, the entire Underworld is color-graded like this, something so simple and yet effective in communicating the nature of the Underworld and what it stands for - a place where the past lives on through the dead, paused in time, devoid of the vibrant color grading found in Olympus - or "Olympia" as its been named in this retelling - which is, by the way, a visual treat to take in every time it's featured.

(and yes, that is S-tier-companion Billie Piper on the left, but I will not tell you who she's playing, you actually really should go into this show as blind as possible for the thrill of figuring out these characters as they're introduced <3)

That's not even getting into the narrative structure of the plot itself or the phenomenal casting and acting, but again, I don't want to spoil too much as the show is quite new, and I want to actually finish watching the show myself before I get more into the details of its story and how it delivers it (I'm very much hoping I will still be singing this show's praises at the end of its 8 episodes, please for the love of god don't jump the shark, I don't think my heart can take that kind of pain again.)

All that's to say though, Kaos is, so far, exactly what us disappointed fans of LO deserve after all these years, and frankly, I feel like whatever is coming for the LO animated TV show is really gonna have to step up to the plate to both live up to the bar that Kaos has set as well as stand on its own without being affiliated as a cheap Amazon knockoff living in its shadow. Sounds a little familiar and a bit ironic, doesn't it?
