For the ask game, Anna (Triangle Strategy)?

How I feel about this character One of the most characters of all time, LOVE Anna, my top-MVP and one of my top favorite characters. If I ever have the time, energy, and motivation I'd love to go through every inch of the TriStrat script to analyze her character and write a fanfic about her life. She's simultaneously really cool, but a little bit weird too (why do kids gravitate towards her like, of all the characters in the game she would not have been my guess for "gets along well with kids" and I don't think she would have been her own first choice either). I love her so much, she's such a fun character.

All the people I ship romantically with this character Avlora, and one day I will be able to make that make sense, but for now that ship exists as an abstract concept in my head, and I think if I just let it stew long enough, like a nebula eventually forming stars, I'll get coherent words to explain myself. But for now, trust me, Avlora x Anna has so much potential. Probably.

My non-romantic OTP for this character Love her dynamics with the entirety of House Wolffort, her weird friendships with Rudolf and Trish, her guardian role to Quahaug and Decimal, her mentor-mentee relationship with Archibald, and her frienemies relationship with Milo.

My unpopular opinion about this character Mostly just that I ship her with Avlora instead of Milo, since I know Anna x Milo is a very popular ship, and I get why it would be appealing (two cool spy women), but I find reading the dynamics between Anna and Milo as platonic more interesting than reading them as romantic.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. I loved Anna's character story and how she finds out about her parents, and how that puts Anna's relationship with Benedict and Erador into a new, and incredibly uncomfortable and awkward light, but we don't get to see the full resolution of that revelation. Like, Anna makes a point of saying she has no interesting in revenge, but surely she must have felt conflicted about the truth--and yet she still chooses Benedict and House Wolffort as her family. That's an incredibly interesting detail about her characterization, and I would have loved to see it followed through to her eventual conversation with Benedict that she alludes to at the end of her second character story. As it is, Anna and Benedict's interactions are very professional throughout the game, so it would have been interesting to see that sort of a personal, more emotional, discussion between the two, since neither is very open about speaking their emotions to others.

I love the college of winterhold. everyone there is casually deranged and there's like an alarming number of students and staff who threaten you immediately when they meet you. it's always one of the first questlines I do. which makes it even funnier when you get made the arch-mage of the college. I'm level 12 and got through this questline knowing exactly 3 spells. what do you mean you want me to lead the college. this school CANNOT be an accredited institution

Y'ALL. Y'ALL so for a long time I've believed that "the sun" in Meursault's story is Carmen, and I went to check Hell's Chicken's dialogue to see exactly how he said that he'd dealt with distortions before, and... you know what else he said?

To my knowledge, it is a phenomenon where an individual morphs into a form often unfit to be considered “human”. It has no known causes, and the appearances were all different.

Unfit to be considered human.

Meursault, who, in his book, was judged by the court to be soulless.

Meursault, who has EGO for Cyborgs who have been so mutilated they barely act like people anymore; a murderer who was experimented on until ceasing to be human; a sheep named after Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, a novel about the humanity of androids and the inhumanity of humans; and now a rose that can't help its bloodsucking nature, based on Carmilla, a vampire whose story emphasized the duality between her vampiric traits and her human ones.

Meursault, who answered Heathcliff's ironic question of if he had metal for brains like this:

can i just say. and this is probably a niche hill to die on. that i am so gobsmacked every time someone vaguely hints at the idea that jotaro doesn't care meaningfully for the other crusaders, usually particularly kakyoin and joseph, when those two actually tend to be the ones he reacts to being hurt the hardest

like he cares for his loved ones!!!! that literally plays into his character motives in every single part he shows up in!!! stop lying to me!!!!!!!

Corentin fir the character ask?

How I feel about this character Corentin, Corentin my dude, my guy, light of my life and love of my heart. Love him so much. One of my initial MVPs, and also one of my favorite characters in general from the game.

All the people I ship romantically with this character No one, really, I don't have a lot of ships for TriStrat actually (I have a few, just not for Corentin, guy's married to his research in my head).

My non-romantic OTP for this character Love the weird friendship he has with Erador. Because of the anniversary art, I think it'd be cool if he ended up being weird friends with Maxwell too (Maxwell would probably politely listen to Corentin ramble about the thermodynamics of ice for an hour or so, has has that sort of a patient vibe to him), although in my head I think he probably gets along well with most of the playable characters, in a "that's our weird scientist and we love him even if we don't get him all the time" way.

My unpopular opinion about this character TriStrat's fandom is so small, and no one really posts a lot about Corentin so I wouldn't know if my opinions about him are unpopular or not. I do have a thing about nerdy researcher characters, so him being my favorite isn't a surprise to me since he's basically Exactly My Type (one of my types at least), but he doesn't seem too popular so I guess his being my favorite's sort of? Unpopular? Dunno really though, I just think he's Neat and don't worry too much about whether my favorite characters are everyone else's.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. I've talked about my "wish there were more character interactions" with regards to all of TriStrat before plenty (what I would give for FE support / UO rapport conversation chains in TriStrat, I love the TriStrat characters so, so, so much I'd love to see them interact in canon more), but if I were to add another neat aesthetic thing to the game, I would have had the character portraits update when they upgraded classes, since we get different portraits for a few of the main characters under special circumstances. Would have been a lot of work for the art team to do class-updated portraits for every playable character + the special portraits that already exist, but it would have been really cool too (I promise this has nothing to do w/ my wish to see the updated class outfits in higher res, and to use them as refs for whenever I get the urge to draw TriStrat fanart again, I have absolutely no ulterior motives here, promise).

I've seen the last '"g-d made you perfect" that I can handle, and it's led me to a realization about how I think of g-d.

I don't think we were made perfect. We were made human. And, if I'm honest, the only perfection in my mind is g-d, and that sense of perfection is what differentiates humans from g-d. If humans were as perfectly-made as g-d, I for one wouldn't see the point in following, believing, trusting, caring for, or loving g-d.

I guess for me, I see the ways in which humans alter the Way We Were Created that I really don't think it's right to speculate as to if there's a limit to altering our abilities or bodies. For instance, as a trans person, I've definitely been inundated with this idea that because g-d made my body "perfect" that I shouldn't alter it ever, but isn't that a dangerous precedent? Is it really so, that our bodies are magically made perfect, as g-d that to even tamper with the idea of change would be the same as cursing g-d? I really don't think that's compelling.

I love thinking about just how much g-d is placed into people, but I don't think it warrants restricting the ability to learn, create, grow, or change. Thank g-d that He created the ability to change!

what do you think about zora design? about past and current designs? how would you change it? actually!!! what are the zora (and other races) like in your sword of fate au???

got distracted by the second question. look at my little guys:

these are some of the current (working) designs!! from left to right it's sheikah, zora, hylian, goron, and gerudo! these aren't necessarily the average builds/designs for each race but they're the most important character from each race lol. sword of fate takes place really early-on in the timeline, so the culture and separation of races is still kind of loose especially among the humanoid races. the current generation of zora is basically the first generation to call themselves zora and attempt to establish a government or hold any authority alongside the other races of hyrule, and because they're kind of a young race i imagine they're less fishy and more invertebrate-like in this stage, hence my jellyfish princess! (her dad is a giant squid lol.) the sheikah are descendants of the original surface humans, whereas the hylians and gerudo are two seperate sects that both originally came from skyloft. the hylians built a few villages which each have their own distinct vibe while the gerudo took a more nomadic approach and roam the desert in small independently governed groups. The gorons are the most well-established race at this point, having been on the surface a lot longer than basically everyone else, and so they have a much stronger culture and shared identity than a lot of the other races that are still kind of getting their footing.

it's crazy to me that the only way you can fail the matron's test is by trusting your best friend or mother and caring for their plight. but not as crazy when you know they're a follower of the betrayer and a ruidusborn though, right?

imogen sounds so defeated when she asked if trusting her mother was bad. then imogen repeating the same again to the hells with this really helpless look. because the matron, a near-omniscient being, has written off her mother as something too rotten to be trusted.

"you know your mother best in the end" the way that does not change the fact that YOU have viewed her mother in the worst light. it's killing me but i have to love the consistent portrayal of the holy, at every level of the realm, putting the burden on others to find goodness or redemption in ruidusborns. but until proven otherwise they are personally fine with reducing ruidusborns to caricatures of an evil turncoat.

the matron of ravens was not there when the gods, despite luz/sarenrae's insistence to give it a chance, decided to distrust the rotten fruit and plucked it right off from its tree, setting off their own end.
