I do think some of the handwringing I've seen about "hate" is funny because from what I can tell, even on twitter people are being surprisingly civil. The cast hasn't even had to make a big announcement clarifying a situation because everyone misinterpreted something and worked themselves into a furor. It took less than 12 hours after the c2 finale before Matt and Liam were like, "Uh, what do you mean, we literally said on stream Caleb and Essek get together." But there's also been a significant shift online since then to the point where anything short of "the precious baby blorbos were treated so niceys :3" is considered vicious hate, for some reason*, so I can't say I'm really surprised.

The ethel cain irony epidemic rant is so real SO REAL i could sound off on that subject i could write a novel length essay it's neat how she said she wants to make a video on it cus for the past few weeks i was thinking of making a video on it TOO i just never committed to the idea since my feelings on it align w the subject matter which is: Who even cares , thats the whole issue, everything is supposedly "Not That Serious" theze days So why say anything. I hope she does make a vid on it though. nihilism & cynicism thinly veiled as irony is ultimately what pushed me offline (as in, not scrolling) since august and as glad as i am to be free of it all it's also still existing whether i engage or not & it is not exactly an encouraging landscape for sharing everything i've been working on for months so hard with all my most earnest efforts . . .

What are your thoughts on f1 ships like Lestappen, and the shippers themselves (Lestappies)?

honestly i just think it’s a bit of good fun. obviously they’re real people with real spouses and partners, but it’s not hurting anybody. i think it’s a little suspicious that the social admins are starting to use the ship names and that could potentially lead to some controversy surrounding shipping culture and the chronically online side of f1, but for now i think it’s fine. pierre gasly has said he is aware of and even reads fanfiction of himself, and enjoys it, so there’s one person for team “rpf is fine” i suppose. as far as shippers themselves go, it’s nothing new. just teenage girl culture. i do think it’s interesting to see how different types of people gravitate toward different ships. there’s a lot of layers to shipping and fandom culture and how it changes a fandom, but it’s been a part of f1 for years, and i think the only reason it’s becoming so prevalent these days is because of the role the media and the fans play in the sport itself.

I wish so bad that people would stop putting traumatizing and horrifying imagery in their thumbnails on youtube. clickbait should be stuff that makes you WANT to click it, not stuff that gives you actual nightmares and triggers your phobias and junk, like.. even if the imagery isn't actually real, it's still abhorrent and shouldn't even be allowed in the first place.

the title alone for this one video should be fine, but like. they did NOT need to have THAT in the thumbnail. this is just another reason for me to hate that side of the internet.

I literally struggle to find ANY good scary content to listen to or watch because people refuse to be decent human beings when making their videos.

(I swear to god this listener needs a nickname so I can write about them, I'm dying here)

Their channel will be dubbed TurningOnTheWaterworks (yes I'm very proud of myself), where they dedicate themselves to tearing up each video, from either joy, sadness or raw anger.

They have a series on their channel called "Down the Drain" ( :D ) where they take books they'd genuinely been looking forward to reading (they had a cool premise or a lot of hype surrounding them) and thoroughly explaining why they were disappointed by them. Its freaking brutal, and some episodes go on for hours. It's the angriest Lasko's ever seen them, and it honestly kind of hot (Lasko down bad fr fr). Most of it is just stuff BookTok went rabid for, y'know the It Ends With Us type of books.

They have really chill streams (heh heh) aswell; they put on some relaxing music, light a scented candle and curl up on camera with a good book. They honestly have no idea why so many people tune in, but they're glad they can be a calming force for so many people.

They keep getting asked when they're actually going to put out a novel of their own, and they do have a couple ideas, and a few drafts, but they still aren't satisfied with it, saying that it's not good enough to be published. Lasko has read the drafts, and it's the best thing he's ever read. Wtf.

Despite not wanting to put out the book, they do actually dm a campaign for the DAMN Crew set in the world they wrote about. They help everyone make characters, and weave each character into the tale almost seamlessly. They're like a budget Matt Mercer.

This entire thing is oh-fish-ially an excuse to make water puns on porpoise. Oh my cod, I'm not trying to fish for compliments but let minnow what you think! Tuna in next time to fund my ego.

sure theres heinous content on the internet but thats just true of everywhere - in a GIANT library youll just find more because theres more STUFF

its got NOTHING to do with keeping kids safe or the allegedly child-approved internet wouldnt be a hellscape
