Warnings: Reader uses she/her. Requests are open. This is just a small Valentine's Day idea I had, since the day is approaching us quickly.

Ever since he could remember, Yoichi thought of of his sister as someone who could be described as a hopeless romantic at heart. And while that was something he really admired in (Y/n), her faith in love and finding the right person, it also worried him. He loved his sister a lot, she was a kind and very caring person, so he always wanted the best for her. He mainly wanted her to have a good partner, since finding one was always one of her goals, but Yoichi noted one thing about her crush and dating history. And that was, (Y/n) always seemed to find assholes as love interests. While he doesn't remember much about (Y/n)'s pre-school and elementary school, he would sometimes hear his mom and her talk about those things in the kitchen, a random memory popping out here and there. Middle school and high school was something he does remember pretty vividly the two times she would come home crying. Sure, back then he didn't know much about these things and would try to cheer (Y/n) up, but now that he is older he is more aware of these things. That's why he took it upon himself to keep his teammates away from (Y/n). They were good football players and friends, don't get Yoichi wrong, but he couldn't imagine them with his sister.

Then, to his horror, when his career took of in Re Al, he was confronted with the harsh truth that Sae Itoshi of all people asked (Y/n) out, to which she ended up agreeing! Yoichi tried to keep his opinion at the time to himself, not wanting to offend Sae. But, once the siblings were left alone, he warned his sister about dating him.

'Don't worry. I am sure this time it will be different.' Yoichi recalled her words, and he just hopes she was right. And if she wasn't, an accidental kick of the ball into Sae's face will help him calm down.

Looking at the digital clock, (Y/n) yawned as she read the time.

"Already 23:30... and I am not even done decorating this. I shouldn't have waited till last minute." She muttered to herself, looking down at the homemade chocolate and at some of the decorative items she bought the day before. It was the night before Valentine's Day and (Y/n) was doing her absolute best for the chocolate to turn out as good as possible. She really wanted to impress Sae with it, but also see his reaction. It's something she would do ever since she was little. Her mom would tell her to always look at how a guy will react to the little gifts, and make her judgement based on that. And well, so far (Y/n) faced disappointment after disappointment.

'Eww. The card looks stupid, and pink isn't even my favorite color! I am a boy, are you stupid?!'

(Y/n) flinched as she remembered one of the first boys she liked rip her Valentine's Day card into two and throw it at her. That was disappointment #1.

'I don't like this chocolate brand. Next time get me something else.' Safe to say she never looked at disappointment #2 again. Why were elementary school boys so into brand named chocolate? (Y/n) hummed as she mixed some blue and green into the white chocolate.

'The chocolate tastes nice, I didn't know you could cook or whatever. But, you aren't my type, thanks for the chocolate, tho.' Disappointment #3 came up in middle school. (Y/n) wasn't sure why she cried that day, possibly because he was the first guy she had a serious crush on? It was a mystery to her.

'I don't like girls like you. You are way too much of a high maintenance. And besides, I found someone else. She looks more like a football players girlfriend.' Disappointment #4 came along in her final year of high school. Oliver was someone she met by chance, he wasn't her classmate or anything. Just a boy she met at a local café she met and secretly dated for a while. (Y/n) knew je was someone who liked women, a lot, but she held out hope that he might change for her. Well, she came to realize that the hope was foolish.

(Y/n) bit back her tears as she put the chocolate into the fridge, her heart pounding in fear.

'Please, please be different.' She thought, praying that the 5th time will do the trick.

Now, Sae wasn't a romantic person and never really saw the appeal in relationships or acting all lovesick for another person. In his mind football and practice were the only things that should occupy him... until he became one of those lovesick individuals. Although he tried to hide it, and failed according to Rin and Yoichi, Sae was completely in love with the older Isagi sibling. Always being more gentle and mindful of his words around (Y/n), and doing his best to show off his skills in front of her when she would watch a Re Al match. So, to nobody's surprise, Sae spent 2 weeks preparing a gift for Valentine's Day for (Y/n), something Rin wouldn't let him live down if he found out.

'Hope she likes this.' Sae thought as he finished wrapping up the plush toy he found. It was a limited edition item he saw (Y/n) eyeing for a while, so he had to be fast and get it before it was sold out.

The next day, the two met up in a nearby park to exchange the gifts and go for a stroll through Madrid later.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" The two said at the same time, presenting their gifts in front of each other.

"Huh? You got me a gift as well?" (Y/n) raised an eyebrow as her heartbeat quickened, earning a nod from Sae.

"Of course."

"But, White day is-"

"I don't care. I will get you a gift for Valentine's Day and White Day." Sae shrugged as (Y/n)'s face turned red.

"You... you shouldn't do that." She argued, but the redhead shook his head to her words.

"No. I want to."

"O-oh..." (Y/n) felt like her heart was about to explode as she handed Sae the chocolate. Neatly wrapped in a pink and white package with a few heart stickers here and there. Sae kept quiet as he inspected the box after handing (Y/n) the gift he got her. The girl felt her heart sink for a moment when he didn't say anything, already fearing the worst.

'The colors are probably wrong-' Her thoughts got interrupted as she saw Sae smile softly and unwrapped the gift.

'He... He doesn't mind the colors?!' She gulped, hugging the gift closer to her form, watching as he took a bite from the chocolate.

"It's not much and not a brand-named item, but I hope you like it." (Y/n) said timidly as Sae raised an eyebrow.

"I don't care. This chocolate is better than any store bought I ever had. Can you make more when you have time?" Sae wondered, eating more as (Y/n) eyes widened in surprise.

"Y-you like it?! You want me to make more?" She asked, face getting redder as her heart was close to burst out of her chest.

"Of course. You made it. Why wouldn't I like it? I love it, actually." Sae smiled at the girl. There was a silence for a moment and (Y/n) felt a few tears escape her eyes, which caused Sae to panic and move closer to see what the issue was.

"Are you alright? I am sorry. Did I say something wrong?-"

"I love you." (Y/n) sobbed out, hugging Sae tightly. The player was taken aback for a moment, but quickly recovered and hugged her back as a small smile was formed on his face.

"Love you, too."

in terms of racing, she didnt rlly grow up with anyone specific but there are a couple of drivers she had bump into throughout her young career

the longest standing one was probably lando and sometimes oscar and logan due to her being born in that year in the middle

Do you think someone would give him a cat after it's over?

Or would he maybe coincidentally find a stray cat out on patrol and the ears and tail look similar to what his looked like so he can't resist adopting it? If he did, he would keep it a secret from the others for as long as he could bc he just knows they'll make fun of him >:(

(and if somebody else gives him one I bet he'd be the typical "dad who didn't want a pet". Act like he doesn't like the cat in front of everyone until boom it's his little baby now)

Omg all amazing ideas.

Personally I think that cats start liking him a lot more after he's detransformed. When he was catlike, they would be weirded out by him, or see him as an immediate friend, or become territorial and try and scare him away (which caused quite a stir on his favourite stakeout roofs). But once he's human again, cats get the inherent sense that he is Safe, similar to how they congregate around Selina.

I think there are two types of people who try and give him pets: Socialites who give him a pretty little kitten with a bow, and who he immediately passes off to Lucius to organize the adoption of before his kids can notice. And Damian, the only one of the kids who lets his own wants for another cat completely overpower the impracticality and lack of capacity for another one. Luckily this hasn't devolved into acquiring a new cat (yet) but he takes his campaigning very seriously.

There are three cats in the manor already. Alfred the Cat (Damian's) and two of Selina's strays who came back after she left town. And everyone loves to take photos of them and Bruce. Before, when he was part cat, he had a bit too strong of a territorial rivalry with them. And when Selina left he grumbled all the time about how they should have gone with her. But as you said, he is the typical "dad who didn't want a pet" and his workstation usually has 1-3 cats lying around it. They're not super affectionate cats tho and mostly just slow blink at him from a distance.

However. One day he's out patrolling and comes across this butt ugly mangled orange cat. And he's so pitiful and so sweet and he sees a woman being robbed and jumps down on the attacker's head. Needless to say Bruce is hopelessly enamoured.

He takes this cat to the vet, dressed fully as Batman, and when the check up is done he tells himself he will deliver it to a shelter tomorrow. But those open in hours and he needs to take care of Batman business now, so he breaks into WE, is caught by a security guard when the cat screeches and refuses to let go, finally removes the cat's claws from his cape, hands the cat to a security guard, and says "for Bruce Wayne."

Most people in the vet & office (and Bruce verbally agrees with them) assume that Batman gave the cat to him as a prank or misguided association. This butt ugly mangled male orange stray becomes the office cat that Bruce spoils relentlessly when he's in. He can't even complain about receiving gag gift cat toys from his family and the league, when he constantly squirrels them away to pamper Princess with. (I mean, he does still complain, including about the quality of the gifts, but he shouldn't considering how much he uses them).

He makes very sure that his secretary and the night staff (who, if we're being honest, are the main ones taking care of Princess) follow all the proper dietary and behaviour guidelines.

"He looks just like me!" Bruce defends at a shareholder's meeting, holding the cat up to his face.

"Sureeee," the shareholders say as they attempt to move the meeting forward. They remember cat!Bruce's beautiful sleek black hair, his handsome countenance and graceful air. They look at this off brand roadkill Garfield. They decide not to talk about it further.

As promised, my thoughts on The Week Before!

(Spoiler free first, spoilers under the cut. Also long post warning)

It was objectively not a good book. Most fun I’ve ever had reading anything, though.

I’m going to start calling him “Ralph Scott” as his full name. At first I hated the name Ralph but it actually grew on me over time. I think Scott is a valid last name and he doesn’t have one in canon so it’s Scott now. I might just call him Phone Guy sometimes though.

If I had to pick one FNaF song to represent this book it would be Stay Calm, absolutely no question. Do with this what you will.

I really enjoy his relationship with the restaurant and animatronics. It’s pretty realistic imo, he always seemed like he was pretty fond of the brand and had loved it and worked there for a long time.

Coppelia is so y/n coded I don’t know how else to explain this. She feels like a self-insert or fan child. Like the way they describe her outfit reminded me of good ol’ Wattpad fic. This is not good or bad, simply a statement. I actually liked her.

Game continuity stuff:

At first it sort of struck me as odd that Ralph says this is his “first week on the night shift” because in FNaF 2 he mentions that he is going to take the shift after Jeremy. But then he mentions that the restaurant closed down after the Bite of ‘87 so it actually sort of makes sense. It took me a minute to figure that out, though.

As I mentioned before, they are mean to Jeremy? This is genuinely hilarious to me. Like at one point Phone Guy mentioned that staff kept saying “You can’t spell team without meat” right after the Bite and his takeaway is just “that’s not very nice but at least they paid attention at orientation.” The first time he brings it up he asks what Jeremy did to provoke the animatronic (my friend said “what was he wearing?” And I think that’s hilarious). He says that the press blew the whole thing way out of proportion but he says that following “he doesn’t talk anymore. Or do much else” so idk man. Ralph just seems more annoyed than anything, like he’s mad it got the restaurant closed down. He does sort of care a little bit, I guess. It depends on what sentence you’re reading.

(My friend also said that it’s sort of the thing you have to joke about, like if that happened at your work you’d have to be an idiot about it [especially bc it was probably over 5 years ago] and while I completely agree, I feel like he’s mean to Jeremy personally a couple times and that’s not very nice. He was just doing his job, man. This is so funny to me genuinely. I will never stop thinking about it)

There were a couple Bite of ‘83 mentions, which I was not expecting, but was very exciting to me. Ralph going up on stage and thinking about why people aren’t allowed up there…he called 1983 on the phone and it was just screaming and Bite of ‘83 audio (and it was different from the games?) which was wild.

I loved that he said they used to call the Bite of ‘83 “The Big Bite” until ‘87 happened. And he likens it to how they used to call WW1 “The Great War” until WW2. Incredible comparison.

Something that I don’t remember Ralph bringing up directly is the MCI. There’s obviously references to it, but I don’t recall him ever going “wow remember when those kids went missing?” Like he does with The Bites. Not a huge deal but definitely a small thing I noticed.

It’s me. It’s me. It’s me. It’s me. It’s me. The way they wrote the it’s me thing actually sent me to hell and back. Some interesting implications as to what that could mean if it’s happening to Ralph too. I think the way it was described the “it’s me” echo like, taking up his whole mind and actually hurting is so fascinating to me. It’s me. It’s me. It’s me.

He refers to himself as “Phone Guy” at one point, or at least says that that’s what other employees call him because he records the training tapes and welcome messages. I actually liked that, it was late at night when I read it but my sleep deprived brain thought it was a cool nod to the fandom.

He also records the messages for Michael (/the next employee) in the books, which is so fun. They used the word-for-word transcript from the games which I also thought was really cool. I’ve always been a fan of those opening phone calls, his FNaF 1 stuff makes you really get attached to the guy and then he fucking dies which is always deviating. Putting them in exactly like the games was a good call.

Also also his night four message recording was really well written actually. It might have been my favorite part of the whole book. Him talking to Coppelia in a non-canon death was really sweet too

They mentioned Susie being Chica and Jeremy being Bonnie by name. I like this. Ralph saying Susie just by vibes was fine, but I kinda want to know how Bronwen knew that Jeremy is Bonnie? Like I know she’s done a lot of research but how does she know which specific kid is which specific animatronic? That seems like a hard thing to figure out, even if you know everything about the case. Eh, whatever.

They kept just… listing the animatronics? Like the book will go “Look out for Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy.” Over and over again. Like yeah, I got it.

Phone Guy

They made him a boy failure. And a lame dad. Absolutely perfect. He says the same stupid fucking joke every time even though nobody’s around. He practices making stupid jokes and puns so he can tell them to his daughter later.

He loves his daughter so much, also. Like all he thinks about her all the time and he checks on her immediately when he gets home. He wants work at her school? He keeps telling her never ever to go to Freddy’s. In the non-canon death where he calls her and he says, “I love you. Don’t come looking for me.” Aughhggg.

A couple of his deaths were genuinely so funny. The one where he’s just mixing shit in the closet and the door gets jammed? That wasn’t even an animatronic that’s just basic workplace safety. The one where he’s being killed (by Chica I think?) and his blood is going all over the floor and he goes “I just cleaned that!” Hey man, there are more important things happening. The one where he puts the cupcake up to his face and it like…eats him? Why did he do that?

There are also a couple non-death endings that are great. The one where he just accidentally gets locked in a room is pretty good. He can get sued by Fazbear which is really funny. Coppelia can get eaten by The Cupcake which is iconic.

Foxy is his favorite. We find this out when he’s being killed by Foxy and he goes “But you were my favorite!” Foxy is also Michael’s favorite. Also nobody asked but he would have been mine if I was a kid at Freddy’s.

I like when he walks in to a room covered in blood and goes “It must have been an animal!” You and I both know it wasn’t, why did he say that? Also he throws about the blood.

Other characters

Coppelia is so good. She’s so middle-schooler and I mean that in a good way. She’s well written in a “that’s what twelve-year-olds are like” way. During the ending where he calls her and says he loves her and she goes “I know, Dad” like she’s rolling her eyes. Okay go off Coppelia. But also she clearly loves her dad she’s just a preteen. I don’t like that Phone Guy calls her Pel, though. That’s stupid.

I don’t like Bronwen. She’s underdeveloped and as she stands in the book just completely unnecessary. She’s a cool character in theory, a reporter who’s obsessed with the mystery at Freddy’s, but she probably couldn’t work in a book like this. I feel like her only purpose was to give Ralph a quest, phone and dead body to find. He probably could have gotten those things on his own, and it actually would have been better for his character I think. She feels like a self-insert character from someone who won a “get your own character featured in a book” contest. She’s not hugely important or prevalent in the plot, to the point where she could be cut and it would probably make the story better. But as her own character, in a book where she was a main or very prominent side character, she could be very interesting. She’s just not here.

WILLIAM AFTON?? Okay, well, maybe. Probably. He’s only in there a couple times, as “Dave” the maintenance guy who knows everything about the animatronics and is annoyed that you called him at 4am. Definitely William Afton, which is very cool and interesting that he’s still around and slaying at the time of FNaF 1. Idk if I’m going to include that in my personal brain timeline but whatever, still good info to have.

Williams presence does raise a question that has always bugged me, how do people not recognize him? Like I get that maybe it’s like Clark Kent where you’re not looking for William Afton so you won’t recognize him, but I feel like this is a little different. Because Dave Miller isn’t some unassuming maintenance worker while William Afton is some huge famous, supervillain or something. Dave Miller is a guy who knows everything about the animatronics and William Afton is the guy who made the animatronics. And they look the same? He’s not even bothering with glasses or anything. And Phone Guy has to have seen William a few times because he’s implied to be higher up (at least a manager or something) at the company in 1987 so he has to have seen William a few times. And Ralph’s gone bowling with “Dave” before, so why was he never like “Huh I wonder if this is William Afton considering they look the same and have the same job and nobody has seen Afton in a long time.” He’s so Sweeney Todd core.

There’s a brief mention of a character named Mrs. Anderson who has a dead daughter, and to me that daughter is Susie. (Not Cassidy bc I have a different family for Cassidy that I can’t get into rn but trust me.) But that’s so sad actually, that she is basically Coppelia’s babysitter bc she misses her own daughter. I feel like something that FNaF could benefit from is more little character insights like this. Just getting a brief “Mrs. Anderson” and seeing how she’s handling her kid dying. This could not be Susie’s mom, and I’m just seeing connections where there aren’t any, but I think she probably is meant to be.

Okay I’m done

I really liked this book guys. It was worth sneaking a copy of into my house. I had so much fun with it, even if I just read it back-to-front like a normal book instead of “playing” it. (Idk why they kept pretending it was a video game, it’s clearly a book, but whatever.) there were a few very fun details that I really loved and it was a good addition to the canon of the series. I won’t incorporate everything into the lore I made up in my head, but I will definitely take some of it. I really enjoyed it, I really did.

It all started with not so discrete looks. Every Monday and Thurday evenings, you would be seated at the same table, studying. No Armin didn't memorize your schedule, he's just observant.

Is what he said to defend himself against Connie's and Jean's call outs, Eren also struggling to believe his best friend.

He'd raise his hands to his sides, trying to make a point, but follow up the statement with a precise assumption based on the colour scheme of the clothes and accessories you wore.

He'd preach about just finding you good looking (gorgeous), but not how he always finds the books you struggle to, and when you leave to go to the bathroom, sets them on your table.

He definitely stays shut about the times he'd noticed you were sick, and when you stood up to go throw your used tissues, slip some medicine in your purse. Somehow, he always knew what you were sick from, don't ask, he doesn't know either.

Yet.. oddly enough, you never thought much of it. You brushed it off as happy coincidences, either way– this was your favourite library, and–

Somebody was rummaging through your purse. He turned around.

The cute blondie, you've been sharing glances with for a while now, was rummaging through your purse. Armin, was rummaging through your purse.

You soon learned the name of said guy, Armin Arlert. Though, not after his failed fleeing attempt, Bertholdt conveniently blocking the one way out. He contemplated making a run for one of the emergency exits, but he didn't get the chance to, 'cause you were on him.

It left Armin no choice but to face the consequences of his actions.

Dear Anon! I remembered that I have a blog post from last year which may be what you are looking for. It’s not really a guide tho, it’s more showing a couple websites with some tips here and there. Still, it may be helpful.

Then there is a huge directory of japanese lolita websites called La Pucelle;

Clicking the links on the side will bring you to many pages and pages of lolita brand websites, homepages, illustration sites, webrings, cosplay and more. The one that I circled brings up a list of major lolita brands at the time.

Just take out all of the junk until you get to the real url (like how you can see a geocities url peeking out in the 2nd screenshot).

The Wayback Machine automatically takes you to the most recent date that the website was archived. This can be misleading because in the screenshot below, this lolita has put up a message that she has closed the site in 2009. This is no good!

But, if you click somewhere along the calender where there is more activity (like where i’ve circled) you can time travel to pre- 2009 when the website was still open.

I like to go to the earliest capture possible to see what the website may have looked like when it first started.

Normani’s debut album…

…disgruntled me!

It disgruntled me in that it just felt like a consolatory, unguided and misguided, lost, phantom project. It feels like a project only and not an actual album.

When I tell y’all that I had/have the utmost, genuine confusion with the entire enterprise of it all. Like just legit puzzlement of it all.

I do not understand what happened and why it did.

Heads-up: This post is about to be all over the place. I guess it’s unstructured the same way the album made me feel. a bunch of typos and grammar errors, bad structure too and jumping all over. And I tried to wait way after the release so it wouldn’t look like I was too harsh as soon as she gifted us with it. Why I waited this long to say anything.

I love her vocals on Distance, Insomnia, Take My Time and All Yours. The background vocals! She’s a layering girl! She’s mastering this and I like that. That is the highlight for me. The maturity in her voice sounds amazing! The age in her tone…we really have grown up with her and it just feels like a warm, kindred hug(the best way I can describe it). I appreciate the 90s nostalgia especially as a 90s kid! Her having B-Rocka’s bgv on Insomnia is perfection!

I’m glad she can now check this off her list tho! I know she’s happy! Like a huge sigh of accomplished relief!

The bluntness…………

What I think was not the best approach was She applied the rap formula onto her debut and that didn’t blend.

I think the rap girls have more of that liberty to come out in their debut as explicit as they want. The genre has sort of redirected in that direction so the ladies are able to settle into that aesthetic.

But with pop/rnb I’m not too sure that works so well. Or how well that formula works in longevity. In Normani’s case, how well that works for her introduction.

The raunchy, vulgar and very hyper-sexual persona (lyric wise and visually —album cover included) to me doesn’t reflect her. It honestly seems super foreign to her. Now, I’m not a prude or too prude to the point of where I can’t appreciate sexiness and sultriness or nastiness...but this just doesn’t seem it. Doesn’t seem it for her.

I’m not one to not be able to grow along with artists. Normani is 26. She’s developed into her womanhood from teen star in a group to an adult multifaceted star as a solo artist. So my expectations weren’t based on the Normani of those years ago. But I do feel like the drastic and almost instant sexualized image/content has been kinda jarring.

Usually, when an artists comes out in their debut/premiere era, they present more of the green, novice demeanor. “Black girl next door” appeal. Whitney, Janet, Beyoncé and so on.

Later on and into their years of being in the industry with their debut behind them and a couple more albums in is when we get the grownup type of albums. 2 to 3 albums post the debut is when that usually happens.

But I do feel Normani absolutely didn’t want this. She isn’t debuting as a young teen and she’s had a very challenging musical journey as part of a group. So I can’t really compare and probably shouldn’t. On that group experience alone, I’m sure she had the mindset to take full control of her sound and image from jump because she didn’t have much say-so then. Which probably is the reason she introduced herself as she presented. I can understand that.

And I can’t speak for all of The Nation but for me, all this threw me off. I was able to look beyond the album cover (and not that her album cover was a total dealbreaker for me but it did give me a preview of what I could possibly expect. I mean album covers do play a part in promo and selling the brand of an artists’ album) and get excited for the music.

It’s listed as pop but has more rnb.

Wild Side made the cut so I’m a little surprised Motivation didn’t. Wild isn’t exactly current so Motivation definitely could’ve been included. Especially considering how well that song did in real-time! It had a good shelf life at the time.

If I remember correctly, in 2019 she said the album would drop in 2020. Given the state of 2019 and the following year, it’s totally reasonable and understandable that that wasn’t doable anymore. But prior to that, a 2018 interview it seemed like 2019 was the initial debut release year. The Waves era. And if the beginning (which she said) or middle of 2019 the album was released actually would’ve predated the pandemic. She said the album title has a # in it and the album cover. 2018, there was even promise of a bounce song with Big Freedia. Probably around this time too is when I recall her saying that the album was 70% done. So yeah all the reworks and pushbacks and restarts, to me, completely disengaged her and just knocked her off her square.

Nothing really translated for me. Nothing seemed very connective lyrically. Majority of the songs are super catchy but there’s just no anchor to them. It sorta feels like Normani’s pushbacks and re-delays and restarting and false starts to beginning at ground zero totally disconnected her from the sound palate she had in mind to do.

The album feels so detached from her.

The lyrics for most of the songs seem more like a vibe rather than sinking into her feelings. Not very meaningful.

There’s just a lyrical emptiness behind it. I guess that is what her desire is. And pop music doesn’t necessarily have to have much emotive substance.

I do want to point out and say that the group trauma for sure influenced or did influence her to steer clear of pop—which imo happens to be her strong sound.

It’s a good album. And majority of her biggest supporters enjoy it. The numbers (although we can’t entirely go by numbers alone to a certain degree) prove it is a good debut. And I hope she isn’t chart obesssive to even base those numbers on what she created.

However, the charts also factor in what she’ll be able to do in her sophomore era. Charts have its importance to a certain degree and numbers do determine a lot. So you can’t totally discredit it. It helps to show what her supporters liked (or didn’t really enjoy) and what backing may or may not be available next round.

Pop seems so much better suited for her. Idk why but that’s her strong palette. I’m just one of a few who is probably leaning more to wanting pop from her and she clearly doesn’t.

And I know the journey leading up to the album wasn’t pleasant, hasn’t been and hasn’t been the easiest and tbh, it seems like all that group trauma just won’t shake off her shoulders (the Terrell interview spoke to that—she was literally speaking negatively about some tracks), her mother’s on-going health issues and following, her father’s health issues and all that impacted her process. It was supposed to be pleasant and enjoyable for her and it just seems like it wasn’t at all.

Y’all keep streaming it and buy it!

Wish all the activeness she had when she didn’t have her official album out like the tour with Arianna and the tv performances etc was done now (at the time of her release). The cameos on other artists music videos.

Not sure why the “working backwards” type of method is the route she and her team takes. New team is definitely felt in the best way already, however, there’s still something there that continues to do what they did years ago with her rollout process.

The 1:59 official music video most definitely should’ve been released a week or so right before the album release. In tandem with the release.

Like why isn’t the rollout in junction with the release? The music videos are absent. Again, the simultaneity is off. Debut the album and release the videos!

Not capitalizing off of Wild Side a year or two ago to release the album around that time or not maximizing the chokehold Motivation had and maybe dropping an EP then to keep the momentum going and keeping the public’s interests bewilders me.

I’m bewildered right now still.

The album just quietly came and loudly went with nothing in between.

I don’t want this for Normani and she absolutely has it all that this shouldn’t have happened as it did.

I’m kinda shame to say that I’ve listened to the album only twice since it came out. I know I’m not fulfilling my Nation duties by doing that but it just didn’t…it doesn’t quite have the replay value to me to want to listen to it several times. To just play it. I don’t think I had too high expectations—it was set in very realistic terms. Especially considering how talented sis is! I feel like all the wide-eyed innocence of being a new artists creating a debut just dissipated overtime and it’s so unfortunate and unfair for her.

I just…SIGH. I’m so disappointed with it and I know I wasn’t supposed to be! I feel bad even criticizing it (I straight up criticized it, no critiquing whatsoever). I’m even ending on a low note about it.

how do u know if someone’s in love with you? 

I’m terrible at reading people- always have been. But I think someone I know might be interested in me. I’m really not sure tho.

She’s been in my eng lit class since sixth form begun (i’m in yr13, so it’s been just over a year) and she was sorta my enemy. We would disagree on the books, our opinions of the characters and we’d get into semi arguments over what we thought in the middle of class (which my teachers luckily didn’t mind cause he’s cool). And we were competing for best grades.

We slowly became friends through our weird competitiveness, and after a few months we were something more than enemies. She invited me to her new year’s party (weird to think it’s kinda nearly 2025 now), I went and we hung out there even tho it was a big thing and a bunch of ppl were there, and then after that we were more like frenemies. 

She’s kind of popular and i’m not, and my friends have been teasing me since we started hanging out more that i have a crush on her and we’re gonna start dating, you know the gist.

But I don’t even know if shes into girls. 

And I don’t know how I feel about her, I haven’t let myself think about that, I was just enjoying being her friend.

Anyway, we got closer over the spring term and then when we had mocks I had a panic attack, and she really helped me.

And then we hung out over the summer a lot.

More than I usually do with one person, I tend to have a limit with people and then I just can’t socialise anymore, but it’s not so much there with her. 

Anyway, since we got back to skl she’s been really touchy, I don’t normally like touch but when she’s doing it, it makes me feel a little warm. 

And now she’s sat with me in eng lit, she keeps nudging my arm and resting her head on my shoulder, and last week she looked up at me through her eyelashes, blinked and then asked me to please let her doodle on my hand.

I always let her do that, I like the sensation, and I was just joking around saying no, and she knew that, but like, my friend teased me about it and he said that he’d never heard her say please before.

I rolled my eyes but in hindsight I realised that’s sort of true. She’s polite to people, but she sort of has this air of “i’m perfect” around her that means she doesn’t remember to use manners, I don’t think it’s on purpose, she’s unlearning a lot from her parents, but I realised that i’d never noticed this cause she does use manners AROUND ME.

I don’t know what that means.

Also I think my entire eng class ships us now ngl. They literally are so invested. So’s my eng teacher. He’s gay and he keeps laughing behind his hand when the class makes jokes about us (they’re nice jokes dw).

Anyway, that most of it I think. 

I can’t tell if she’s just going along with the joke cause she’s popular and she’s often said she combats rumours abt her dating boys by just letting people take abt it and move on… or if maybe she likes me? 

I don’t have any real reason to think she actually likes me. Except this one thing. 

I broke a bracelet over the summer from my sister that I love… I have a lot of problems with jewellery, I love them but only very specific things. I hate bracelets I can’t take off quickly in case I suddenly get the urge to have nothing touching my skin. And my sister had gotten me this bracelet with tiny beads (I hate bracelets with beads cause they’re big and press into my wrist weirdly) with a material i actually liked and I fell in love with it and wore it everyday. 

And it broke.

And I couldn’t get a replacement cause she got it like four years ago and the brand was a little business in a country we went on holiday to back then.

And literally, when i told her it broke, she learnt how to make bracelets, bought these fiddly things that get tiny beads onto string, found and bought the exact string I liked, learnt how to tie it to make those, you pull and it loses, you pull the string to tighten it (like anklets) tie, and took the beads i’d collected from the pavement when it broke and kept in a little bowl sadly, and remade the bracelet. 

She remade my bracelet. 

I’d tried, to figure out how I was gonna remake it, but I couldn’t figure it out and it was so fiddly and confusing and she just- did it.

I don’t wanna assume she wouldn’t do that for a friend but- surely that’s a little clue right? That maybe she likes me as more than a friend.

Plus she’s not super touchy. Just with me. And she does like to make things for people but not like that, not from scratch.

helloooo as usual sorry for taking a few days to answer i'm horrible. ok mmmm see i’m not great with writing and i don’t have all my thoughts perfectly sorted out but. in short.

she does have the legendarium sort of it’s just not like the show. it doesn’t summon fairytales creechers bc i find it silly it just holds any type of spell and magic and allows you to use it regardless of your level and skills if it makes sense

then the deal with selina in general is that she’s an earth fairy of snakes with one mom from earth and one mom from tír na nóg. specifically i made selina’s earth mom be from southern italy like meeeeee bc the old ladies in my town (my great grandma) do a weird pagan-christian type of Magic and selina gets to mess around with that too besides her fairy magic. she grows up to be a bit of a Hoarder of different magic types and techniques or whatever you'd wanna call it. whenever the wizards start hunting down the earth fairies for good selina is orphaned (haven't decided if earth mom dies too or not tbh we'll figure it out later) and gets stuck in tír na nóg w the other fairies. yea i stole icy’s s8 tragic backstory and gave one to selina instead bc she needs like Anything at all. eldora’s like a guardian fairy and her role sort of is to take care of the younglings so she takes selina under her wing especially bc selina gets like super super ambitious and is obsessed w learning more and getting stronger. that's how she ends up getting the legendarium from eldora and it fits perfectly w selina’s collectionist attitude abt magic if you will fjwifoafk. as she immerses herself in her studies she grows resentful and angry at her parents for letting themselves get killed which is really just being angry at herself for being a little kid who couldn't help. when the revenge fairies start arming up she joins them and it cracks eldora's heart a bit. they don't let her in any actual fight from s4 - she's still young and the earth fairies have already lost so many of their youngs - and it makes her bitter. even more so when they eventually repent. she's now convinced that fairies are weak and good for nothing - her mom died and her sisters in arms mellowed out - so when tír na nóg is finally freed and she can go study in magix she decides to hop ship and enroll in torrenuvola becoming a witch. the legendarium helps, it lets her use spells from magic types that aren't her own, of levels that she hasn't yet reached, so she does extremely well for herself as a brand new witch.

so the trix notice her, pick her up, bring her into fights w the winx & roxy in s5 blablabla but she Does get redeemed and she Does attempt to transition back to fairy and join alfea (make it a narrative abt Accepting Yourself For Who You Are <3 lmaonfjsidiw) but it doesn't really work out and she gets stuck as some type hybrid. she has to re-do her first year so even tho she's a year older than roxy they end up in the same class and in fact not only that but they also end up being roommates bc the winx don't fully trust her on her own so they pull some strings to get them stuck together which is ANNOYING bc they DON'T GET ALONG but they'll get better w it :^)

Digimon Adventure 02 Best Partner Series - Part 2

Lol why are the girls' butts so emphasized in this artwork. Seems sketchy, but okay (Tailmon's even pointing to Hikari's butt, as a YouTube commenter pointed out).

Questionable art aside, I definitely thought these 6 CDs were a little weaker than the ones in my first post, but I'm biased. I don't have a very strong connection with a lot of the 02 characters, so it makes sense that their songs wouldn't hit as hard for me. On the other hand, I really like Ken and Wormmon so their album slapped. Anyways, full thoughts below.

Daisuke & Veemon

Google Boy - Daisuke (Listen here - subbed)

Daisuke singing about being a hot blooded shounen boy and how his goggles are a mark of his coolness and Taichi's legacy. A very Daisuke song lol.

Pretty funny how goggles just became a signature fashion statement for Digimon MCs. At least they kinda had a purpose in Tamers (although it wasn't explained very well).

Go Ahead! - Veemon (Listen here & Translation here)

Veemon's song is very in-sync with Daisuke. Just talking about having courage and rushing into battle without thought (because your squad will back you up and everything will work out! LEEEEROYYYY JENKINSSSSS)

Okay, this was definitely the strongest song on this CD. It's catchy, the boys sound great together and the whole thing's a soccer metaphor which is very on brand. (I tried to google and see if "2-Top" is soccer terminology and came up with nothing tho -shrug-)

I like the little banter breaks in this and then in the song they talk about how their bickering just shows how energetic they are haha.

They mention being a digimon tamer in this song but did they even use that terminology in 02? I don't remember...

Miyako & Hawkmon

Crash with Bingo - Miyako (Listen here - subbed)

The lyrics of this song are pretty nonsensical, but I get what vibe they were going for. She's basically singing about being a hot mess but being proud to be herself. Also mentions that she's not just here to look cute.

I feel pretty neutral about Miyako, but I did appreciate that she could be kinda tactless and brash at times. Traditional Japanese femininity usually means being quiet, submissive and agreeable, which she definitely is not.

Although I've never liked the "bingo" catchphrase, it's fun in a song lol

Knight of Love - Hawkmon (Listen here - subbed)

Man, out of all the digimon partners, Hawkmon's gotta be the biggest nothing burger of them all. I couldn't tell you a single thing about the dude. I feel like the bird digimon are the most sidelined for some reason? (Maybe they're like "little boys don't care about birds, they like dinosaurs and bugs!")

Hawkmon sings about being a "knight of love," but I never got "knight" vibes from him really. I guess he kinda talks like a knight, but nothing in his design says knight...he's supposed to look like an Indigenous person, no? Maybe I'm being to literal hahaha

Fly High - Miyako & Hawkmon duet (Listen here - subbed)

Yeah, I don't really buy Miyako and Hawkmon's partner chemistry. They sounds more like coworkers lol. I did like the part where Miyako was asking to talk to all of Hawkmon's digivolutions in quick succession, that was fun.

Miyako's just spiraling the whole song and Hawkmon's trying to comfort her but she seems to be kinda brushing him off for most of it haha

Iori & Armadimon

My Conclusion - Iori (Listen here - subbed)

This song was...not good. Not the worst of the bunch, but it kinda just felt like it had no melody and Iori was talk-singing the whole time. His voice is cute and the lyrics fit his character nicely, but I was thrown off by how janky the song itself sounds.

The song is about Iori's convictions and what evil vs. justice means to him. You can sense that his philosophy is coming from his kendo practice.

I enjoyed the gratuitous English in the final line lol

Omyaa to Let's Go! - Armadimon (Listen here - subbed)

This one had a good energy and I liked the "Let's go!" chorus, but there was still a lot of talk-singing going on

I hate that the song starts by mentioning that damn Chuu x2 Jelly...it's like the show forgot to give Armadimon any memorable qualities so when they wrote this song they were like "he liked jelly...I guess?"

Armadimon losing steam and kinda flubbing the lyrics was the best part of the song lol

A Message to the Future - Iori & Armadimon duet (Listen here - subbed)

Phew, finally a good one. I was a bit worried I'd dislike this whole album. I really liked the melancholy yet optimistic vibe this one had. It kinda feels like any two characters could have sung this, but oh well. It was a nice duet regardless.

Armadimon telling Iori that "no matter what kind of adult you become, you'll always be Iori" was sweet :)

Takeru & Patamon

Focus - Takeru (Listen here - subbed)

Okay this one made me MAD because it was so ship-baity!! What the heckk??? This song is clearly implying that Takeru has romantic feelings for Hikari ("Am I the focus of your heart?"), but the show led me to believe that his feelings were platonic and almost brotherly. Did I watch the same show as the song writer? I don't mind them as a pairing, but I feel like this is contradicting my interpretation of the anime so I'm just confused.

Aside from my grumblings, I think this song was great for the drama of it all lol. I also liked the callbacks to Hikari and Takeru growing up together and Hikari blossoming into a powerful young hero.

The comment section of the YouTube video I've linked have people arguing whether the song is about Hikari or Patamon lol. Ain't no way this song is about Patamon. There's even a hikari pun in there.

Don't Stop Patapata - Patamon (Listen here - subbed)

Not sure if this is cute...or just annoying. Sounds like a song written and performed by a toddler, which is fitting cuz it's Patamon.

This song captures Patamon's one braincell energy (which was on display in the new 02 movie). He doesn't really sing about Takeru much which feels a bit like a wasted opportunity.

Steppin' Out - Takeru & Patamon duet (Listen here - subbed)

I liked the theme and lyrics of this one but the vocals were pretty rough...It sounded like Patamon's VA didn't match Takeru's VA's energy very well and together they sound kind of off key.

Takeru singing about taking off his ripped shirt kinda made me laugh because I pictured like a sexy romance novel cover dude. So not Takeru's image.

Seriously Patamon just kinda sounds disinterested in this song

Hikari & Tailmon

Gentle Rain - Hikari (Listen here - subbed)

Kind of a boring, slow song, but I liked the overall theme. Hikari's showing her vulnerable side and talking about how she can't be strong/brave at all times.

I'm not sure I really understand the rain metaphor here...I think maybe when she's saying it's not an "intense rain" she's saying it will take a long time for her weakness to wash away, but that's okay? IDK, kinda clunky.

Getting up - Tailmon (Listen here & Translation here)

Pretty similar to Hikari's song, but more melancholy. I found this one kind of relatable because I can get existential pretty often. The lines "What can I do? I still don't know. Because I was born my journey continues" hit me.

Tailmon sings about, basically, how life as a digimon is tough and confusing, with all of the nonstop battling. Still, she wants to stay strong for those she needs to protect. (Tailmon kinda has similar vibes to Renamon...or maybe it's just that they both have deep voices.)

Shining Star - Hikari and Tailmon (Listen here - subbed)

This one felt kinda half-assed lol. I think I might just be getting burnt out with all these songs that effectively have the same message.

So yeah, just like a lot of other songs in previous albums, this was a generic song about Hikari and Tailmon being different but loving each other anyway and striving to be their best for each other. I guess it's nice to hear a more optimistic song at the end of the album since the first two were pretty downbeat.

Ken & Wormmon

ONLY ONE - Ken (Listen here - subbed)

Aw man, I'm disappointed that Ken's solo song is from the POV of his Kaiser days :/ oh well. It's still a fun song. I like his evil laugh at the end.

I think this song does a good job of illustrating Ken's internal struggle between good and evil, but always turning to the darkness in the end. I also enjoyed the rock n' roll vocals.

The Future You Dreamed of, The Future I Dreamed of - Wormmon (Listen here - subbed)

Lol Wormmon's such a simp for Ken, but I love him so much 😭❤️ This song was great!! The jazzy instrumentals, the back up vocals and the passion/love in Wormmon's voice were all on point.

This song is all about Wormmon not giving up on Ken and understanding he has good in him that he wants to protect. So pure and sweet <3

True Strength - Ken & Wormmon (Listen here - subtitled)

Omg I loved this one 😭😭😭 so precious! Sure, it may have the exact same theme as a bunch of other songs ("we're so different, but we love each other!") but it definitely has a greater impact considering Ken and Wormmon's baggage.

I loved the light and jazz vibe of this song, I was picturing Ken and Wormmon in tuxedos with tails doing a lil tap dance routine together.

When many people said "eugh, Ruby need to get over her crush on Gorou who now is her own twin", I'm busy thinking about Gorou's, or, Aqua's own "crush".

Gorou, first of all, was not a fan of idol before he met Sarina. And later on he became Ai's biggest fan, especially after he lost Sarina. What I see the most from this is that Gorou is in his own way, a "people pleaser", especially to his precious people. It came with his job as a doctor and his loneliness. And it also can be his own brand of kindness. And maybe being Ai's biggest fan was his coping mechanism.

When he met Sarina, his world has changed bit by bit. He never thought of his own life as unfortunate, but then there was a little girl who lost her own self more and more so fast. And there was no one to support her. Yet she was so radiant that it left a big impression in Gorou's life. The way she still had the capacity to love her idol, Ai, as deep as that was so dazzling. And tho I don't doubt Gorou's grandma's love for him, Sarina might be the first to show and gave him love so straightforwardly. And being emotionally stunted man he was, didn't know what he felt for her but Sarina IS the biggest presence in his heart, even following onto the reincarnation.

Now, I know that Aqua loves Ai so deeply. But for what I see, when he was Gorou, he became a fan of Ai more for Sarina's sake, at first. To give her a friend who share the same interest and all. But later on he became a genuine fan. BUT, remember how he sometimes saw Sarina's shadow in Ruby?? It might be similar with that. He saw Sarina's shadow in Ai, and now vice versa. Even Director Gotanda saw Ai in Ruby.

And above all, Gorou/Aqua can't differ his own feeling of 'love' he doesn't know if he was 'in love' with Ai or not, and he take interest on Akane when she start to mimic Ai and can be used. And there's Kana, who he can banter easily but in the end he use her for his own purpose. That doesn't mean he doesn't care for them, it's the opposite. Despite how crass he used them, he does care deeply and doesn't want them to get hurt. Which fail spectacularly.

But Ruby, Ruby is that one existence he won't ever use for his purpose. And he will go to hell and back to keep her 'radiance'. It's the same with how he treated Sarina and Ai, like they're the precious goodness in this bleak world and have their own circle in his heart. He knew of their flaws, yet still treat them like they had no fault.

He laughed meanly at how naive Kana is, how easily she swayed by the boy she likes. But he tries so hard to preserve Ruby's innocence, or what left of it despite knowing how hard her life was/is. Even when he listen Ruby said of how broken she was, she's still the most radiant.

I do ship AquaRuby, but I won't said that Aqua doesn't have a "crush" on Ai, Akane, Kana. Like I said, Gorou/Aqua is emotionally stunted about his "love". He cares deeply, craves for love, but doesn't know how to receive and reciprocate. His "love" is of self-sacrifice kind of way. He was fucked up when still as Gorou, losing Sarina when she said her confession, and then losing Ai as Aqua in almost the same way. Rather than focusing on his own "love" and discovering it, he's more desperate on not losing anyone else. That said, he wants to finally have his happiness. But as long as the biggest threat (aka Kamiki Hikaru) still running around, his precious people is in a big potential danger, especially his sister Ruby, his idol's daughter who's so alike with their mother, and the reincarnated "Sarina-chan". He feels he owes them (Sarina-chan & Ai) for loving him.

Why he feels like he owe them? From my own experience and from what I know of Gorou, people like us need others (precious people) approval and love to feel like we have a living purpose. Even then, we felt that we need to do more to not lose them. Loneliness is a scary thing. Maybe that's why he attracts other lonely people (the girls). He show them the support they want, and sometimes show some empathy.

And for him, Sarina-chan is the loneliest. She suffered so greatly even without that loneliness. And then he met Tendouji Marina as Aqua, and once again reminded how much Sarina had suffered and abandoned. Even then she still waited for her mother, wished for her parents health, loving Ai and Gorou, smiling and dreaming, etc.

And well, yeah, thats why I think the one Gorou/Aqua loves the most is Sarina/Ruby. I don't know what kind of love it is, and don't know who will end up with Aqua, but for now Sarina/Ruby is his number one girl.

gonna ramble a bit about the ml art style change bc ig I have more thoughts about it than I knew. tagging this as leaks but no like story stuff is gonna be mentioned bc I don't really know any lol

so going off what little we've seen of it (and in arguably the lowest possible quality at that) I think it's gonna make the show very visually pretty which isn't to say it couldn't be or wasn't in the older style(s) but that was def more inconsistent between studios and such so if this new style is the standard then like. yeah it's gonna look great

buuuuuuuut I also think it looks kinda. generic? like what's happened to a lotta brand logos that used to have personality but now all look super flat and simplified. like the Pepsi logo or whatever. it's a similar situation to the movie (I'll get into this in a bit) where like yes it looks pretty but it doesn't really look like Miraculous to me? like ik the style kinda varied somewhat between the studios but it was largely consistent enough and felt much more unique. like I could see a screencap from any timestamp of any episode and place it as Miraculous just bc of the visual style

now tho it looks less unique to me and more....like a mobile game ad? some kinda un-marketed direct to streaming movie? not trying to sound mean or anything but it just doesn't strike that same feeling the old style did for me as of yet. it feels more like an attempt to ape off a generic Pixar/Disney sorta style which the movie's style did too - and that ig is a good excuse for me to kinda dive into my thoughts there bc like. it looks way more like that movie now right? the y'know completely non-canon movie that to my knowledge wasn't received too terribly well lmao. I feel like this is on some level purposeful tho

I made a post the other day about how someone (especially the youngins) might go into season 6 thinking it's actually more of a season 1 only to presumably find that very much isn't the case pretty quick lmao - but that's still a new viewer, which makes number go up, which is a Good Thing. that s6 looks to be something of a fresh start given the whole Gabe in da Ground situation makes me believe this more since I'm pretty sure he got got in the movie too (<- does not remember the movie she saw twice) albeit in a different way. very real chance they view s6 as something of a soft launch pad with the hope of ppl who only saw the movie just jumping in without looking first. I also have an even more insane conspiracy theory that they're using movie assets at lower res for the sake of cost management but again. nutso hunch

regardless I'm kinda surprised they're changing it so drastically this deep into the series and I have no idea how the quality of animation is gonna hold up from episode to episode, season to season. presumably this is part'a why we haven't had s6 drop yet, that they've been working on it thoroughly, but it's been a good minute since s5 ended and I feel like the drought in content isn't really worth it?

like it's been so long that to me sometimes it's felt like the show straight up ended and while I don't mind a wait like this, the show then coming back looking entirely different to how it used to is gonna be jarring. I'm giving it a chance bc we haven't really seen it yet and that footage is very likely a wip of some sort but all the same I'm not terribly impressed? the emotions seem more stilted and flat, there's a few sorta redesigns that look....off (namely Adrichat, imo), and it feels too much like an attempt at cashing in on whatever success the movie might have had by bringing the look of the show more in line with it

think what gets me the most is that the style and animation of the show was one of the biggest things that drew me in beyond the bugcat of it all. it was the first CG animated show I'd seen where I felt as if the animation really worked; the world felt alive and vibrant, the city lived in and populated, but it didn't feel uncanny or like realistic in any sense, and there were plenty of gaffs and flaws throughout but I feel that only endeared the look of the show to me more - it had its own style that stood out for better or worse and I think that played more a role in the show's success than most have given credit for, and now that it's being entirely dropped in favor of a style that feels much more like some generic CG animation style I can't help but feel a bit disheartened and even nervous about the future of the series tbh

want to say that I'm not looking to hate it - I'm gonna give it a chance, and again I think it does visually look pretty, but I feel like it loses a lot of what made the show stand out to me and changes things I don't think really needed changed. time will tell but as of now I'm really not sold on it

also think having a special (or two? maybe?) in the old style just to drop us into the newer one presumably shortly after is kinda weird. wonder what happened there. bad timing? tbh using a special to introduce it mighta helped a bit but idk for sure

Hi sorry for disturbing. I don’t know if u still do the lost and found but there is a fic that I’ve been searching. There are a few details that I remembered :

Naruto is a single hokage and always busy with his duty. He’s too busy which made him a bit ignorant about what happen to hinata. Hinata (almost or I’m not sure. SorryXD) get branded with caged bird seal. So when naruto heard about what happen to hinata he gets guilty because he forgot about the promised he made to neji to abolish the cursed seal. Then he use his position to make the elders to abolish it.

I think I read it on fanfiction.net and pretty sure it’s a one-shot fic. That’s all I remember tho so I’m sorry if it’s not enough. I hope u can do ur magic and find it because I’ve been trying to find it but still no hope ;-( sorry again for troubling you

this was a detail i noticed a while ago when listening to and watching the persona 3 the weird masquerade version of brand new days however i was only watching the male mc version and it was grainy quality but at the very end the lights go dim and everyone does this weird gesture/motion with their hands, everyone doing it at a different pace, then it looks like they're sending it up into the air. now, i didnt watch p3twm HOWEVER i think it's based off p3p hopefully meaning the story is still pretty much the same aside the songs the cast sings (because i mean. its a stage version what else do u expect) and a few scenes probs but ANYWAYS lets also make note that in the game when everyone's persona awakens and they've resolved something in themselves and it appears as a weird little ball of light, im going to assume that that's what's being sent up into the air

okay, now back to p3twm im assuming the gesture/hand movement they're making resembles something, as everyone does it at a different pace and some people do NOT do it at all, what could this mean? i'm going to interpret it as when they've found a reason for life, i cannot say answer to life as only Aigis and the MC learn the answer to life and it isn't exactly shared to us and both of them only learn at the end of their games

everyone finds their reason differently, everyone has their different reasons. everyone finds it at different times, some later than others. im going to list from who does the gesture first to last (discluding mc) assuming it's who found their reasons first and who found theirs last, and some of their reasons if i can remember:

Aigis (protecting and staying by mc's side), Yukari, Fuuka. Junpei (theres probs another, but also for Chidori after she gave her life to him), akihiko (something about shinji i think), ken (also because of shinji), mitsuru, Chidori(? she isnt seen doing the full thing, however she brings both of her hands together and in the same way everyone else does. her will would be the love she found for junpei and yada yada)

and then the characters who do not do the full gesture (discluding chidori):

jin, takaya, and ryoji

now, I noticed when we zoom back out that Jin and Takaya dont exactly do anything until they send something into the air like everyone else, because i couldnt see what exactly they were doing though i went to search for another version which was the femc version now i know they both may not be the exact same however it is close enough and it actually stays zoomed out and you can see when everyone does the thing but anyways

jin and takaya use one hand, about a second after chidori they reach for something and pull to to them, but not like the others. its almost as if they keep it at a distance, but still keeping it close. they do however follow the others by sending it into the air.

ryoji however, does not do anything. that is until it's mc singing the final verse, his hand reaches up. i cant see what hes doing tho unfortunately smh

jin and takaya share similar ideals, albeit jin only does because he's loyal to takaya and such and such (ok idk how to word that but pls understand what i meannn), which leads to both of them not looking towards the future as they believe they do not have time and will die. which also leads them to wanting nyx to destroy the world and humanity.

ryoji is essentially death. he is the embodiment of it. that's why he doesn't do anything. however, he knows he will be at mc's side, bc yknow mc dies at the end becoming the great seal.

now, mc doing the hand gesture last may just be because he's singing the final verse however his is also different, he reaches out towards the audience/camera instead of sending it up. again, may be bc hes singing final, but it's still an interesting detail, as he is the one who finds the answer to life, and giving it up for the future of his friends.

i love this little detail. i dont think my interpretation is exactly right but boy is it still something that got me thinking. such a small detail too
