well, i have an idea for an AU i not sure you would like (in fact, i been sending this idea to @DeusVerse) for the last 3 ask games and nothing) which is "Character developer" AU, basically Midoriya has a quirk which allows him/her to change her or others their body or quirks but only one change for each "charge" (one year a charge)

Izuku uses it initially to change his gender into "female" and give herself a stockpiling quirk.

Not really the kind of person who does AU requests (unless it's something that really speaks to me), I'm more of the type to follow whatever my heart tells me, posting wildly different AUs that I personally am a fan of.

That being said, I kinda like the idea of a Quirk like this. Something like a mix of Rewind's raw power/energy stockpile, and New Order's general... New Order-ness. Allowing someone to build up energy over time, then using it to reshape another person's body. Like some fics I've read with Quirk Assisted HRT/Reconstructive Surgery.

Not sure if I'd use it as a Midoriya Quirk, the way you described it was a little vague and confusing (sorry). But as a general use OC, who has a Quirk license allowing them to use it in the medical field? It goes hard.

I think fandom can sometimes look at things as if Harry and/or Louis are the main characters of everything that happens to or around them, which can really skew people's perceptions. I don't know if you've seen yet, but some horrific allegations came out about Emrata's ex-husband today. I think it's probably likely that that makeout happened because she wanted a big story so there would be different headlines about herself out there between "Emrata's ex boyfriend posts her nude" and "Emrata's ex husband accused of sexual misconduct" (which to be clear I think is entirely valid, she is and should be free to attempt to make and control her own narrative rather than being at the mercy of the narratives of the men around her). And while Harry had his reasons for agreeing, obviously, I think it's entirely possible that his reasons look more like doing a favor for a friend/friendly acquaintance in a tough spot and maybe getting paid, rather than some specific strategy or narrative on Harry's part.

Thanks so much for this anon - I might not have picked up on it otherwise and it's really important context. I absolutely agree that it suggests she would have very strong motivations to make out with Harry Styles. Taking control of her own story is a great strategy to deal with the fact that people are putting her names in headlines of stories about her husband's abuse.

To me that makes it seem more likely that it'll be transitory, but we'll have to wait and see to know either way.

Davey is no stranger to the newsies before the strike. Even if the Jacobs are more well off, it’s not like they’re Katherine rich. They still see the grimy, homeless newsboys on every street corner no matter where they go. And of course, anytime they want a paper, they interact with them. So David had actually met quite a few newsies in his time, even if only for a few seconds.

But after he bought a paper from this one kid taller than him on his way to school, he feels something hit his back as he’s walking away. He looks down and sees a pebble at his feet, and turns and sees the newsboy hiding up on a perch, slingshot in hand and a sly grin on his face. David just stares blankly for a minute, not sure what he’s supposed to do in this situation.

“What was that for?” He finally asks, and the newsboy looks almost surprised that David can still see him, even though he’s really not hidden very well.

“You looked like a good shot,” the newsboy replies. And it almost makes David laugh, just from the pure absurdity of the moment.

He picks up the pebble and throws it back at the newsboy, who dodges it with a laugh. David laughs back, and it almost feels like when he’s hanging out with his friends after school, willing to do anything to put off going home to do stupid homework. He waves to the newsie, who waves back and loads another pebble into his slingshot. Davey quickly runs, not wanting to get hit again. He can feel the pebble whiz past him right before he turns the corner onto his school grounds. In the distance, he can hear the boy going back to hawking headlines, and he heads inside for classes.

Holy shit I need to look to the guy who runs his stream as a game with all the overlays and interactive stuff again. I saw him on tiktok months ago but now I'm actually learning Godot I could like do things

I think so many people are so deeply alienated from themselves that they have no clue how to exercise their free will and autonomy. For some, this alienation runs so deep that they are afraid of their own autonomy and humanity. It is completely understandable why one would have those feelings, but it can be worrisome.

I want to help others who feel this way, so here are small things I have done to exercise my free will:

Add "guilty pleasure" songs to playlists and actually listen to them (I have a ton of late 1990s-early 2000s music I listen to now proudly that I never listened to in the past out of shame)

Getting the décor item, bath set, bed spread, ect. in the patterns you like, even if it's "childish" (I got a dinosaur-themed wastebasket from the kids' décor section and I adore it)

Taking a new route to get to a place you go to often

Eat dessert first

Celebrate well, and often

Collect things that are "odd" or don't seem like an "acceptable" thing to collect (somebody on my "for you" page collects dandelion crayola crayons and it was so cool!!!!!!)

Incorporate one new piece in an outfit you wear frequently (e.g., a new chain, a necklace, ribbons, bracelets, ect.). Challenge yourself to add onto the outfits if you feel up for it.

Sing along to songs without worrying that you sound "good" or your intonation is completely accurate

Read a book from a genre you weren't allowed to read as a kid (comics, thrillers, mysteries, anything!)

Walk without having a specific destination or goal

Pick up a new craft without expecting yourself to master it or to ever be "good" enough. Get your hands messy.

I don't want to shame anybody for not feeling as though they have free will or that they are exempt from exercising it. However, I wanted to give ideas so that you might read this list and find your own ways to express your intrinsic autonomy and will. You deserve to be a person, to feel alive, not just living. That is what our lives are for.
