GENSHIN S/Os WHEN THEIR LOVER TURNS INTO AN ANIMAL

Characters: Aether, Albedo, Al Haitham, Amber, Ayaka, Ayato, Beidou, Candace, Cyno, Dainsleif, Diluc, Dehya, Gorou, Heizou, Itto, Kaeya, Kazuha, Lisa, Lumine, Layla, Nahida, Ningguang, Raiden Shogun, Scaramouche, Shenhe, Tartaglia, Thoma, Tighnari, Venti, Xiao, Yae Miko, Yelan, Zhongli

A/N: I've been working on this for a while and it got backed up thanks to finals but I hope you all like it!!

Aether (golden retriever)

It’s quite a fun morning when you wake up to a flurry of cries and laughter along with a big furry retriever pouncing on you as you just woke up.

You happily cried out for help and Paimon came to your rescue asking where Aether is, still cuddling and petting the cream colored fur as the dog's head rested on your lap.

On the dog's ear was aethers earring and you took a guess, asking the dog if he was your lover to which you got a pretty excited bark and more “kisses”.

The day is pretty much one of the best days ever as Aether gets to fawn over with cuddles and free food while you get to skip your responsibilities, running through the lands and laughing at the playful games you all played.

It’s decided that it was the result of a side effect of a domain your boyfriend recently cleared and it wore off after 24 hours but to say you were glad that it was over would be a lie.

Albedo (snow leopard)

He is a menace especially since snow leopards thrive in colder climates and naturally blend in with snow means a full day of hide and seek on Dragonspine, chasing him around and watching him observe the dancing hillichurls.

‘Bedo is of course going to let Klee pet him and cuddle near a fire if it’s cold (you get priority too), pawing at the knee for attention or to continue combing through his soft thick fur and wiggling around to show his stomach for pets.

You’re going to have to keep an eye on him as the now cat alchemist is going to try to perform experiments on himself to figure how he got in this position and with his large paws he’ll give you his best cute eyes for your help, please say no his fur almost got dyed neon pink.

Kaeya is no doubt going to catch wind of the situation and tease him about gaining a new fur coat to replace his usual white one, casually speaking about how you’re suddenly available since your boyfriend is an oversized house cat.

The cavalry captain gets a snarl and small but fierce roar as he sees Albedo get in front of you and slowly move towards him, both of you don’t see kaeya for the rest of the day and your furry alchemist lover demands rubs.

By the end of the day there will be two sheets of papers with a charcoal paw print on it and a messily done heart, paper slightly shredded but you and Klee love his gift anyway.

Alhaitham (Madagascar day gecko)

Like Albedo is a menace and uses his new form to hide from you and play games but most importantly get info that he normally wouldn’t be able to get as he’s now an ordinary seeming gecko.

Most likely he’ll find you before you find him, climbing up your back with his padded toes and smirking (you think) at your confused scattered self.

Alhaitham can’t just go about his day as normal so he does have to rely on your help much to his disagreement, wandering through the stalls and purchasing fruits for you both.

All in all a very relaxing day for the scholar compared to what he’s used to and did have fun being able to be pretty much inconspicuous, playing “catch me if you can” with his significant other.

Amber (french lop bunny)

Probably has to do with Albedo or something she ran into while being an outrider but nonetheless loves it, finally she’s like her baron bunny and adorably fluffy.

Jean gives her the day off because there really isn’t anything Amber can do in her current state and she could get hurt, you end up having a fun day to yourselves and walking through Mondstadt in with bunny amber cuddled in your arms.

You can’t help but prepare a satisfying salad for her and you, sitting just outside the city and enjoying the wind brushing through Amber’s whiskers.

The way her cotton tail twitches when she’s excited or her high hops in tall grass chasing after you, every soft small part of her is too cute.

Ayaka (persian teacup kitty)

Thoma’s going to come up to you with a mixed expression of worry and awkwardness, his hands hiding a furry pale blue moving ball that unfurled to be a kitten and according to Thoma…your girlfriend.

You’re too busy cooing over her cute cat form to listen to what Thoma was saying besides her not being able to take care of her duties, entrusting you to take care of her and watch over Miss Kamisato.

Most of the day is in her room watching her struggle to walk and fall whenever she tries to stand on two legs, not only not being able to reach items because she’s a cat but she’s a teacup cat.

She does have to admit that you’re adorable from her point of view and you give the best scratches behind her ear while she’s laying on soft blankets and weaving between your legs.

Ayato (peacock)

This is one of the best and worst days for him because he gets a day off of work for a valid reason and he gets to show off how pretty is to you. Thoma and his sister cannot stop doubling over with laughter.

The lord is almost always puffed up and displaying his feathers for you to enjoy, following you around like it’s the only possible option and occasionally cawing to get your attention.

Several times Inazumans came up to you while you were running errands and warned you that there was a very large color bird “stalking” you, turning around to see your lover trying to impress you

It was very clear that this magnificent bird was Ayato Kamisato based on its attitude and coloring but how it happened….. who knows?

Beidou (Treeing walker Coonhound)

It’s quite a shock to see the captain of the Crux fleet basking and swimming in liyue harbor under the hot sun, perking up when her nose caught your scent and shook the water off her much to the crews displeasure.

There are a couple pros when you inevitably go to Ningguang to inform her of the situation and Beidou goes right to tackling the leader with tons of wet kisses and barks, looking back at you with what you swear is a smirk or cocky expression.

As a hound she gets so many snuggles from the children and elders but her enhanced hearing and smell allow her to find more illegal deals or goods being stolen and smuggled by treasurer hoarders (they can’t hardly believe that this dogs is somehow on Captain Beidou’s size till they see you and they bolt without the goods).

At the end of the day you and her are at the front of the ship, overlooking the lanterns decorating Liyue Harbor and having your girlfriend on your lap cuddled up close to you with her head nuzzled into your stomach.

Baizhu (ball python snake)

Since he’s already used to Changsheng being on him 24/7 Baizhu going to know what to do in order to keep himself alive until whatever this is wears off but until then you and Qiqi will have to help run Bubu Pharmacy, your lover coiled around your neck to help you like his own snake as Chengsheng is around Qiqi’s hat.

It isn’t a surprise that Baizhu is playful in his serpent form, racking his brain for when or how this could have happened when he’s normally so aware of his situations but chose to ignore the reason and press light kisses again.

You take breaks for both yourself and your new snake partner who Zhongli immediately recognises but chooses not to comment on while you order food from Wanmin restaurant, going just out of the city to find some some rodents for Baizhu to snack on and holding back a gag reflex when you saw the bulge in his coils.

Whenever it’s hot out his cold bloodedness comes in handy for both of you and trailing down your body to get herbs when you cannot find them, coming back to your arms before coiling around your wrist and dropping the herbs on the counter but not without giving you a nuzzle which gets a funny comment from the customer.

Candace (coyote)

It's unusual to wake up to a coyote instead of your girlfriend but weirder things have happened before strangely enough and both of you have work to do so you couldn’t just laze about and cuddle your new canine companions.

Although now being a coyote, she can cover the area surrounding Aaru village better and fast with four legs, using her intimidation as a fierce wild dog to scare away potential threats with her bared fangs and chasing them off.

You went to work and notified people that yes Candace is okay but she was called away by the Akademiya on a mission in the desert and to come to you with concerns until she was back.

Tiredly smiling when the sun hit the horizon and you saw her slip into the village, playing around with some children before heading to you and encouraging you to brush the grit out of her fur while sunbathing.

Neither of you knew what caused this but it ended the next morning and you both chalked it up to some strange harmless magic, laughing about the fun memories while you woke up and went about your day.

Cyno (death stalker scorpion)

He’s not going to even try come up with a logical reason for how this happened but does find it ironic and is happy that he’s now the most venomous scorpion in all of Teyvat but is now terrified that he’ll accidently sting you hence why when you wake up he’s on the opposite side of the room with a book on your desk open to his species.

Immediately going to find Alhaitham with your help and bug him, pure amusement filling his heart when his colleague glared at him and skittering closer with his tail threatening to sting him. An unspoken threat hangs in the air, the Mahamatra daring the Scribe to mock his jokes without consequence.

Cyno grows to enjoy his new form as he’s just as threatening as he was when he was human and even gets more confessions as he points his stinger at the criminals neck with another Matra coldly asking him to just confess already (you’d informed the Akademiya that Cyno had been turned into a scorpion which Nahida got a kick out of but did confirm the truth).

Late in the afternoon both of you were laying on a rock in Gandharva Ville with the sun warming up your boyfriend, Tighnari had just finished examining your lover and gaining some venom from the scorpion in order to work out an anti-venom just in case but left to two of you sleeping.

Dainsleif (fruit bat)

You rarely see Dainseif because of his constant traveling but he always seems to be there when you need him and stays for as long as he can before he slips away to take care of his personal issues.

Although through everything you’ve seen with Dainsleif this has to take cake, opening your window around midnight when you heard some taps and yelping when a bat flew into your bedroom.

Clinging to your shirt and looking up at you, key details being a half mask-like mark across his face and your boyfriend's signature star eyes stopping all words coming out of your mouth. Was this your lover? It couldn’t be- but who else looked like that. It couldn’t be a coincidence.

Welp now that all your plans were cancelled since your lover unexpectedly is here and now turned into a bat for some reason but nonetheless you sat with Dain hanging from your shoulder eating a juicy fruit you’d given him and looking at you with love filled eyes.

Dehya (Bengal Tiger)

Personally thinks this is an upgrade and takes advantage of it for as long as it lasts, giving you “puppy dog eyes” to explain to Rahman what’s happened but to let her continue her jobs with you as her translator (no way she’d allow any harm to come to you) and begrudgingly agreeing to let her go.

You make sure to pack up some water and snacks (having to go out and buy some food for your tiger girlfriend) so you are nourished during the journey, setting out with a happy oversized cat purring and rubbing against you with no care of the onlookers concerned or confused faces.

All of her work goes smoothly with you having to occasionally step in to explain what’s happened and her enemies not willing to fight an overgrown pyro infused tiger with only a simple weapon.

Evening is one of the best, both of you laying down in front of the fire and stroking the big cat that’s smothering you with wet kisses, chuffing while nudging her head against your hand as you take another piece of fruit for yourself and some grilled meat for her.

Diluc (red tailed hawk)

Usually you woke up to your fire haired lover’s tight grip on your waist before he’d kiss your head and sneak off to get ready for his busy day but today you awoke to a soft chirp and light nips to your cheek by a red tailed hawk. Strangely it wasn’t freaking out externally but tried to get more comfortable next to you as you just froze in shock and looked around the room for your lover or some explanation of what’s going on.

Your feathery friend flew over to a pile of Diluc’s uniform and dropped his glove and vision in your lap, picking up the edge of the glove with its beak and trying to slip the glove over its talon. Its scarlet eyes desperately looking at you with some sort of desire only known to it and causing your thoughts to wander to how similar the bird and him were.

Eventually accepting that your boyfriend was now a bird for an unspecified period of time and calling in Adelinde to explain the situation in order to cancel or reschedule any business meetings. You carded your fingers through Diluc’s red feathers who was now on your shoulder observing the view from outside the Winery and flew out to one of the rows of grapes, picking off one with his talons and eating it with a content coo.

Both of you did have to go into Mondstat to take care of Angel’s Share where Venti cackled upon seeing the famous intimidating bartender and Kaeya was a bit more snarky fully aware of the damage the hawk could inflict. But the aerial view of the city when he would fly around the cathedral was breathtaking to say the least and he wished more than anything to share this view with you, swooping down to you as you came to the base of Barbatos’s statue with to chicken skewers smiling up at him and offering him some dinner from Good Hunter.

Il Dottore (blue ringed octopus)

As far as you know this was probably his doing because frankly it seems like it was something he’d do just for kicks and it was another new accomplishment he could brag about but apparently something went awry when the fatui agent directly under his command came running to get you.

You were about to be handed an octopus but ripped your hands away when you realized the species of cephalopod to be the highly venomous blue ringed octopus which your lover often raved about and nearly yelled at the agent for attempting to kill you before the tiny sea creature pointed an arm towards a note on the doctor’s table.

After reading the note that basically said Dottore maybe fucked up by adding a chemical he wasn’t supposed to into his recent already unstable concoction and that you had to take care of him until the effects wore off in about 24 hours.

The rest of the day was pretty relaxing given you had to carry around a full container of water that your lover resided in. It was eventful with you occasionally slipping him bits of fish and having him climb up your arm to your shoulder to watch the world from your view compared to his small one.

Gorou (Shiba)

General Gorou personally doesn’t like this new development because some people (Yae Miko) already saw him as part dog despite various attempts of him doing everything he could to just get others to ignore his canine features.

So when he woke up one morning feeling a bit smaller than usual and went to rub his face but saw paws instead of his hand, freaking out and immediately turning over to wake you up but only getting out scared barks or whines.

After almost an hour of calming Gorou down with the help of Kokomi who agreed that until your boyfriend was back to normal he wouldn't be allowed to do any work as general.

Well Gorou wasn’t happy with the situation but he came around to liking it when he realized that he get’s to spend all of his time with you it clicked and eagerly asked for more cuddles now that you could both sleep in until lunch.

Heizou (ferret)

Chaos. I don’t feel like I need to say anything else if you know what ferrets are generally like and if you don’t then please look it up it’s hilarious (also fits Heizou’s personality to a T), but better pray for the Tenryou Commission when he wakes up and get ASAP before Sara breaks her “No killing Heizou under any circumstances” rule.

This boy is so slippery even when he’s human but loves to run around you while climbing you up and down as he gives playful kisses on your face, not to mention his coat is gorgeous with bits of tanish brown mixed with stripes of vibrant red and gold along his fur.

It’s going to take more than one person if they want to get him off of you, trying not to touch you in the wrong places as the guard attempts to get Heizou out from your clothes and even if they’re successful the detective is going to nip at them so he can further secure himself around your neck.

You do love it when he’s peaceful, eating bits of fruits or grilled meat from your hand and nuzzling her soft cute face into your cheek (Heizou is going to make it up to you for all the trouble he caused later with cuddles).

Itto (bull)

Please help this man or bull who woke up so frightened that he wasn’t an Oni anymore that he crashed through a wall of your house and it took the entire gang, including both shinobu and you with the threat of Kujou Sara to get him to stop rampaging.

Also in this I imagine that he’s not Ushi sized but full on bull sized but with his signature red horns and red marking colored in his black/grey fur.

It’s going to take more than a couple minutes to tell him what’s going on (Sara already has Heizou trying to figure out what happened) but afterwards finds it pretty cool and naturally offers local Inazuman kids a ride.

You ensure them it’s safe with you going on him as well and the entire day is filled with the laughs of kids thanking their favorite Oni for bull rides, whispering comments to you about your lover’s protectiveness whenever another person gets a bit too close for comfort (like anyone would want to face off against an angry bull).

Kaeya (peacock)

This man is already cocky but now as he’s a bird know for being gorgeous and pretty, will not stop preening himself or looking for some way to impress you.

Each of his feathers has his signature star eye instead of it’s normal colors on his plumage which doesn’t take long to put two and two together, calming yourself down and laughing at your lover’s attempt to console you by perching himself on your lap (encouraging you to use his soft feather to distract yourself).

Both of you silently agree that it’d cause way more of an issue if you went out with an unusually colored peacock of all things (something not native to Mondstadt) and stayed home, sneaking out to walk among the gardens at twilight and admire the luminescent moon lighting up the path.

Kazuha (yellow ragdoll cat)

Such a good kitty he is, doesn’t panic upon realizing his new form but does have some concerns and atm he can’t do anything so he might as well relax with you until you start your day which doesn’t take long.

He’s so adorably cute and you cannot help yourself when you sweep him up in your arms, your lover is happily purring and swiping his paw over the signature red streak to hopefully clue you in. Luckily you took it well with minor panic but ultimately hoped it’d wear off after a day or so and scratched his head as you strolled through Inazuma City.

Many people flock to you and ask to pet your “cat”, commenting on his red streak and cooing at him whenever he walks around on your shoulders purring.

The samurai naturally attracts cats, so expect to be followed by a herd of cats which isn’t bad because they’re all so fluffy and Kazuha would rather nap on you when you’re basking in the sun which leads to a cuddle pile.

Kokomi (full moon betta fish)

Honestly how either of you got into this scenario is a mystery but needless to say it involved a very worried and concerned general Gorou cradling a small glass bowl with a beautiful pink and purple white full moon betta fish.

Most of the day was spent carefully resting in Kokomi’s room in order to avoid any soldiers in case they came looking when Gorou informed the resistance that her excellency wasn’t feeling well which wasn’t technically a lie although your girlfriend tried to convey that she wanted to go outside and swim in some shallow pools.

The happiness you could feel coming off her in waves as she excitedly swam among the shores of Watatsumi Island and fluttered about in between your legs when you walked in the water beside her.

Soon or later you ran with her in her bowl trying to escape Gorou for yelling at you for “endangering” Kokomi and understanding you’re her significant other but that doesn’t mean you get to steal her away (your girlfriend begged to differ).

Layla (sloth)

It fits her very well mostly due to how cute she is and her clinginess whenever she’s asleep, waking up one morning to feel a tight grasp on your waist and being a bit frightened to see a small icy blue sloth peacefully sleeping on your stomach.

You looked around to see your girlfriend’s signature star head accessory sitting atop their head, having heard to the Akademiya’s recent mess you’d believe pretty much anything and your Layla being an adorable sloth was not your life until the foreseeable future.

After locking the door so she couldn’t do any of her work (not like she could anyway), you went out to the nearby markets to get some breakfast and kept her close to you, her arms now wrapped around your neck and happily stared at your focused expressions.

Upon her request (really just her pointing at the House of Daena repeatedly) you went into the library and checked out some books in a small corner to her joy, cooing at her cute form and running your hands through her fur which she seemed to like).

Lisa (fine haired Persian cat)

You were in the library petting a gorgeous Persian lavender cat when the Acting Grandmaster bust into the room frantically asking if you knew where Lisa was and yelling that someone went wrong when the librarian as helping Albedo out with a recent experiment only to see you with the cat happily purring on your lap. “Oh good you found her.”

Obviously after the explanation that your lover had been accidently turned into a cat you couldn’t help but coo at her more than you did before you knew and cozy up in a faraway section of the library with some pillows and take a nap among the many books lining the shelves.

Napping away when the sun warmed both of you up and groaning when she pawed your face with her little fuzzy mittens, yawning as you got up to get food for both of you at good hunter and brought her back to your little pillow nest.

Lumine (cream tabby cat)

Just like Aether you woke up to a sound you hadn’t heard in a while which was a very friendly pale yellow tabby cat sleeping on your chest whose eyes fluttered as you began to fully wake up and nudged your cheek affectionately.

It didn’t take a genius to realize somehow that the traveler had somehow turned into a cat and until further knowledge so you had no choice but to care for your girlfriend, who was happily getting a lot of attention from you.

Your companions found this very amusing and Paimon did occasionally laugh at the way the traveler plays with the leaf being tossed about in the wind but quickly shuts up when she tries to take a swipe at Paimon.

There isn’t an hour where you and her aren’t connected in some way and Lumine often naps on top of your shoulders as you go about your day doing your chores, chuckling to yourself at the content purring kitty sleeping on around your neck.

Nahida (butterfly)

A/N: this can be read as either platonic or familial love

It’s not going to be easy to find her but she’ll let you know very easily via a dream and she archon magic, flapping her gorgeous green and white wings all around you while dropping small flowers on you.

Nahida is definitely going to need some help when it comes to eating and you can definitely hear phantom giggles as you cut into a slide of zaytun peach, biting into one yourself and lifting it to your shoulder where the dendro archon is perched.

There is no doubt that she’s going to lead to to the Aranara Village, introducing you to all her friends who without a doubt both know it’s her and adore you (many flower crowns were made for you that day and you brought all of them home).

You can tell just by how Nahida acts (even if it’s just flying about) that she’s happy to have another form of freedom where she doesn’t have to be Sumeru’s archon and just have fun, gliding from flower to flower that just seem to reach towards her every time she passes them.

Pantalone (arabian horse)

All you woke up to really loud noises and a bunch of whining which scared you awake and nearly screamed when you saw a fully grown black stallion worriedly pacing around the room, quickly backing yourself against the headboard and rapidly looking around for your lover but calling out his name.

To your surprise the horse looks your way and something in his eyes softens before stopping to a halt, nudging something towards you that was knocked onto the floor and picking it up to see it was Pantalone’s slightly cracked glasses.

No explanation could be given but you did have a very amusing time trying to get him out of the house without damaging or breaking anything, but the harbinger got back at you by sweeping you up on his back and galloping across the snowy fields.

You could vaguely hear happy winnies whenever you yelped or shrieked from the fast pace he was setting and would use his head to nudge you back onto his back. Anyone could tell that this horse was very prideful about its handsome appearance and you couldn’t deny it.

Raiden Shogun (Jaguar)

Needless to say walking back into your shared room only to see a violet patterned jaguar was enough to get you to call out to nearby guards and your breath fell short when you got the big cats attention, freezing in place as you slowly backed up and dropped the desserts had bought for you both.

You didn’t even have to run because it easily smelled the sweets and laid down to munch of them, nudging one toward you and watching you keenly with her tail swishing idly behind her; of course that’s when the guards came in and pushed you behind them in order to stop you from being harmed.

After a long accident involving the cat hissing at the guards and keeping you behind her, lifting her chest to show an exact copy of the symbol the archon had and sparks of lightning emanating from her paws marking up the matted floors. The message was clear that this was somehow their archon and didn't touch what’s important to her, without hesitation Yae Miko was called.

Ei was so much more calm when they left, you could feel that she was overall done with everyone and just wanted to relax with you (which you both did), escaping away to the secret garden where you hid among some flowers and napped with your lover now a jaguar purring quite happily.

Kunikuzushi/Wanderer (black ragdoll cat)

Nahida called urgently called you to the Sanctuary of Surasthana because something worrisome had happened involving the wanderer and to not panic because it wasn’t too bad, the situation you got only increased your anxiety when you ran in through the doors only to hear the archon’s voice yelling to “Close the door before he gets out!” and briefly seeing a black puff ball scurrying towards you while hissing.

The obsidian ragdoll cat uses you as a shield as he angrily hisses and takes swipes at Kusanali who is clearly having a lot of fun although it seems very stressful, thanking you and scolding the cat who she calls “Wanderer” for trying to escape when someone was trying to help him (you do a double take at that).

She explains that she doesn’t have an explanation but roughly knows what happened and most likely angered some Aranara who specialized in illusion magic to which you try and pay attention to her however your eyes haven’t left your lover’s pale indigo ones.

You go to pick him up (he strangely gave you a onceover before jumping onto your chest without warning) and nearly fell while glaring at him annoyed with his actions, the anemo user only squirmed in your arms to get more comfortable and blinked up at you once settled with false innocent eyes that you were all too familiar with.

Thankfully it was raining so even if he did get out he wouldn’t get far, so begrudgingly agreed to stay at the Sanctuary until he changed back and (much to his embarrassment) started purring when you pet him right behind the ears, looking around to double check if the damned archon was around before allowing himself to relax and wind his tail around your hand lovingly.

Shenhe (red crowned crane)

For sure is going to wake up confused and curious, pecking you awake as softly as she can and nudging you with her head to try to get you up.

At first you thought that she was Cloud Retainer and freaked out, scrambling out of bed and brushing the invisible dirt off your clothes to greet her correctly.

Upon noticing that it was your girlfriend, you chose to ask Cloud Retainer herself who also didn’t know what was going on but assured you it was temporary.

Shenhe flew across the lakes, freezing the water in spiral patterns and landing gracefully on the ice to invite you over to skate.

Tartaglia (red fox)

Him and Heizou have something in common and it’s still being able to cause mass amounts of chaos despite being non human, the entire day will be spent chasing him around while you try to clean up the messes he “accidently” causes.

No doubt one of his antics is going to be finding Zhongli and being playful but just tolerable enough to not be thrown into Liyue harbor, squealing and gekkering when Hu Tao came up to ruffle his tangled fur.

By mid afternoon you’d given up searching for your boyfriend and gone to sit by the harbor, swinging your legs off the dock and feeling a certain soft fox cuddle his way under your arms as an apology.

Thoma (Shiba)

You’re called over by the Kamisato siblings who were trying their best to keep it together and hold in their laughter while they led you to a room containing a dog that looked suspiciously like Taroumaru, noticing that he wore your lover's black metal headband and similar happy go lucky smile.

The two explained that somehow Thoma had been transformed into a shiba when they came to check in on him when he hadn’t said good morning and the only idea they had was to get you so no one else found out, asking you to watch over him until either of them found out a way to turn him back.

Thoma who’d been contently laying in your lap and snuggling against the hand petting him perked up at that sentences, barely able to contain his barks of excitement and running circles around you.

It was rare that the housekeeper got a day off and this was a strange incident but he’d take it, leaving you to chase after him through the city and coming back with some food a chef had given him because of his cuteness.

Tighnari (fennec fox)

There’s really nothing different except for the lack of control, short height, people cooing over him- yeah he officially hates it and scampers off into the Avidya forest to continue his duties. Even if he’s now an actual fennec fox instead of just being a hybrid like he was previously, a small hiccup isn’t going to stop him no matter how much Collei pleaded.

He is shocked that you instantly know who he is based on his various shades of green and blue coat coloring (not missing the hint of pink on his ears and nose) and hazel curious eyes, looking around before jumping into your arms and silently pleading for you to hide him.

You do manage to convince him to take a walk through the forest towards a small river runs and sweet Zaytun Peaches, mint, and Harra fruit grow; biting into one of them and savoring its sweet flavor before offering the other to Tighnari who happily took it.

He gives you the best privilege you could ever have and it’s cuddling him as a fox, it isn’t surprising you fall asleep with your boyfriend in your arms who is slowly falling victim to fatigue as well (he didn’t notice Collei peaked through the door and took a picture for later).

Venti (Mocking Bird)

Like Tighnari, the archon is already like a bird so it doesn’t affect him so much until you and Diluc tell him that he can’t drink any alcohol cause it might kill him in this form and he’s not going to chance leaving you behind in this world (although the face the red head made after you were finally able to convince him the bird was Venti was pure gold).

Your boyfriend never leaves your side and is able to hear all the songs that he can make as a mocking bird, including anything he overhears from anyone else and being able to mimic it completely.

He spends most of his time nested in your hair and showing off his beautiful feather pattern to his beloved, green and blue swirls painted on his brown and white wings (a small Anemo symbol placed on his chest).

Windrise’s massive oak tree provides lots of shade and roots for sitting on as you sit against the bark as Venti flutters about in the air joyously, occasionally stopping and giving you a love peck while he picks up some diced apple with his beak to nice.

Xiao (Blue-backed Manakin)

Takes the whole “fierce harsh warrior” and turns it on its head as he tries to figure out if this new form is because of his karma or just the world laughing at him, overall is very grumpy and does his best to avoid you knowing you’ll coo over his new bird form.

Light but harsh repeated pecking against glass gets your attention and you see a small bluish black manakin bird perched on the window sill trying to get out but freezing when they lock eyes with you.

You recognise the purple triangle that your lover has tattooed on his forehead and remember something he had mentioned about his previous form being a bird, putting the two together and scooping him into your hands; five minutes later both you are on the same page and will later see Zhongli for help but for now you’re okay with some snuggles after some puppy eyes (which Xiao knows he can’t stand strong against).

When the time finally arrives to find the ex-geo archon, Xiao finds a comfy stop nestled on top of your head (bonus point that he can also keep in contact with you and lookout) and does unconsciously let out small chirps when you nuzzle his chest or mention how beautiful his feathers are (which you wish could keep one and luckily enough are gifted one by him as your arrive in Liyue).

Yae Miko (arctic fox)

The Guiji does change into her fox form on occasion and when you’re at your lowest in need of comfort but never out in public where others can see her but something must have gone wrong because now she can’t transform back into her human form which alarms both her and you.

Doesn’t let anyone see her and curls up in her room as she tries to figure out what happened however you manage to sneak into her room, using your puppy dog eyes to your advantage.

Yelan (Black widow spider)

Something was scattering across your face and opening your eyes to see a larger than normal black widow spider to which your reaction was to scream in fear, throwing the spider to the other side of your room and desperately checking your face for bites while grabbing a big book on the shelf next to you.

When you turned back the arachnid was busy using it’s webbing to write something on the floor, quirking your head so didn’t have to move but you could see and becoming genuinely shocked at the sight of your lovers name being written in blue glowing silk (it’s artist looking up at you with all 8 eyes).

It took a lot of patience but you came to accept the fact that your fiersome girlfriend was now one of the most venomous spiders in all of Teyvat until you could change Yelan back but you’d make the most of it and she’d weave complex designs out of her webbing for you.

Another perk was that the hydro user could now gather intel more easily because of her new form and much to your dismay she crept out of the house to continue on her recent mission but just before midnight you felt a soft cloth brush against your face (Yelan had made herself a little bed on the headboard).

Zhongli (standard bearded dragon)

Generally alright with his new form but isn’t happy that he can’t drink tea anymore whenever he tries which only ends in your holding all of his tea hostage for fear of what it’d do based to his reptile body and Zhongli with his now obsidian black beard rather than the normal beige.

He does enjoy basking in the Liyue sun that beats down on a roof he’s taken a liking to after giving you a slip and flattens himself out into (as you like to call it) “pancake mode” to best enjoy the sun’s heat.

Hu Tao upon hearing why he can’t come to work cannot stop laughing and taking photos via her Kamera but lets you both off until a solution appears.

The day consists of you with your lover on your shoulder and walking around the plains of Liyue, more than once does he speed off to investigate a commotion and finds out he is very fast on all fours.

genshin characters' bodies headcanons

ok so we all know that genshin impact's in-game models leave much to be desired, soooo I wanted to explain some of the headcanons I have about characters’ physical features that don’t really get explored in game :) aka genshin but with actual body diversity lets goooooo (no this does not include genitalia) 

I’m using Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r foundation shades to describe skin tone (you can go to their website here for references!)

Diluc Ragavindr 

this man is BUILT! 

thick muscular tree trunk arms and legs to support that giant ass claymore he swings around; and a wide, muscular back spread

He has a lot of muscle but he’s not super cut, there’s a slight layer of fat over it all so he has that soft but bulky build (and big tiddies)

big, strong veiny hands with thick fingers that aren’t stubby but not slender, he simply keeps his nails short but doesn’t do any fancy upkeep

I imagine him to be around 5’10” because I like to think he’s a little shorter than Kaeya (who totally makes fun of him for it)

he probably has some old scars on his arms and legs, which he pays little to no mind to

he has a tall nose bridge and a strong brow so it looks like he’s always scowling even if he’s not (no more alien bug eyes lmfao)

He has naturally pouty lips, but when he smiles (which he rarely does) he looks absolutely angelic

Fair skinned but with a warm undertone (fenty beauty shade 105), it’s hard to get him embarrassed but if you do, he blushes easily

The fluffiest hair you can imagine, its so soft and so pretty but he doesn’t really take special care of it so it’s usually just thrown back in a ponytail

He has a fair bit of body hair on his arms and legs, and if he doesn’t shave for a couple days he gets stubble on his face

Kaeya Alberich

Long, lanky and slender, but still muscular

He’s got toned arms and legs from being a Knight of Favonius but he’s not as stocky as Diluc, it’s more like a lean fit situation

His hands are big but his fingers are more slender and elongated

He takes care of his nails and lets Klee paint them sometimes :)

He has a slightly crooked smile that’s oh so charming, but it never quite reaches his eyes

He has the most beautiful long fluttering eyelashes and kissable lips

I imagine Kaeya to be about 6’2” or so, most of that height is from his long ass legs

He also has miscellaneous battle scars but he prefers to keep them hidden so people don’t ask too many questions about his past

Wide shoulders but a narrow waist (for other men to grab)

Much darker skin than the in-game model, and I think his undertones are cool (fenty beauty shade 340 or 450 I can’t decide)

His hair is also fluffy but the strands are longer and coarser than Diluc’s so it falls more evenly; also his hair is wavy when brushed out, but when he wakes up it forms into curls naturally! I also imagine him to take better care of his hair than his brother

Has less body hair than Diluc and cannot grow even facial hair to save his life (he prefers a clean look anyways)

Childe/Ajax/Tartaglia

he’s very muscular and cut from years of nonstop fighting, literally a greek god

He could crush your head between his thick thighs like a watermelon

He’s pretty damn tall, standing at around 6’4” or so, pretty even proportions

This man is pasty af!!! His undertones are cool and his skin has a pink, rosy glow (fenty beauty shade 100)

He cannot get a tan to save his life, instead he gets a shit ton of freckles all over his face and body, the freckles fade in the winter but they’re always slightly visible

His body is absolutely covered in battle scars because he’s so reckless, but he wears them with pride as proof of his training and skills

He has a scar on his forehead that cuts through his eyebrow, giving him a permanent eyebrow slit

His hair is the exact consistency and color of Ed Sheeran’s

His nose has a bump in the middle and it’s a little crooked because he broke it and it never healed properly (he doesn’t care to get it fixed)

His neck is thick and he has a prominent adam’s apple

Slightly thinner lips that are a pale pink, they naturally rest in an easy smile to juxtapose his dead eyes

He has small dimples on both cheeks when he smiles

Beidou

MUSCLE MOMMY, I’d like to think shes in her late 30’s or early 40’s

She has an overwhelmingly large presence, immediately taking over the aura of any room she enters

She has a wide, muscular back rife with scars that she flexes when she’s drunk

She’s pretty tanned from being out on the sea all the time and has a warm undertone (fenty beauty shade 255)

Could also crush your head with her thick thighs or biceps (her lat spread is insane)

Definitely has washboard abs, a perfect 6-pack

She’s pretty tall, around 5’11”

Blunt and thick fingers, she doesn’t bother with fancy nail care but keeps them tidy

Her hair is very coarse, straight and thick, the kids in Liyue Harbor try to play with it using clips and braids but they always fall out because her hair is so resilient

She has deep set smile lines and crow’s feet from many years of hearty laughter

Her eyes are monolid; technically speaking it’s just one eye since the other was lost in a vicious battle a long time ago

She has a long scar running over her lost eye from her forehead to the middle of her cheek, and another smaller scar on the corner of her lips

Her nose is rounded at the end and also used to be crooked from a fight, but Ningguang made her fix it because a deviated septum is bad for breathing

Them Painting Your Nails 💅

A/n: I could barely do my own nails, so uh….

Also, sorry that this is short!

Characters: Lyney, Kazuha, Itto, Mika, Cyno, Alhaitham, Kaeya, Childe, Venti

Lyney:

Lyney is a perfectionist. He would paint your nails with full concentration and if he makes a mistake, he won’t hesitate to fix it. Your nails WILL come out perfect and will look like a professional has done it. 

The reason why he would be so good at painting nails is because he paints his sisters, so it was a natural job for him. Honestly, 10/10. 

Kazuha:

Kazuha would mess up here and there and make small mistakes, but overall he paints them pretty good. It’s honestly pretty interesting to see him fully concentrated on something and sort of refreshing, but it’s still funny. 

Overall, 9/10.

Itto:

Beautiful, perfect, amazing✨. Itto paints his own nails so it’s not surprising that he would be good at painting yours. You are honestly pretty scared that he’s so good at doing something that actually takes skill. 

He will brag about him being a nail artist and you would just feed him compliments. The only thing that would kinda annoy you is you want different colors on your nails since Itto only paints them black. He’s still a 11/10 though.

Mika:

Mika struggles while painting your nails, mostly because he's afraid of making a mistake. But after he gains more confidence, he would be like Lyney. A perfectionist. He would even try to do designs even if you don’t ask for it. 

Overall, he's a 7/10. 

Cyno:

Cyno doesn’t even know what he’s doing and you could tell. He would try to crack some jokes to distract you from the mistakes he keeps making, but to be honest, I think it's also to help himself. 

Hes unfortunately a 4/10, but he still gets extra points for the jokes though. 

Alhaitham:

Alhaitham doesn’t really know how to do nails either, but if he watches someone first, then he would understand how to do designs and how to make it look aesthetically pleasing. 

He’s a 9/10. 

Kaeya:

Kaeya messes up a lot when doing your nails since he hasn’t painted anyones before. He doesn’t have any sisters, nor is he close enough to anyone to actually paint their nails.

Even though he makes a lot of mistakes, he still gets extra points for effort since you can tell he tries. 6/10.

Childe:

Childe paints his sister’s nails whenever he visits home, so he already had some experience when he decided it would be a good idea to paint yours.

Even though it's a little messy, it still comes out looking pretty good. 8/10. 

Venti:

Ok, so um… he doesn’t even try. He makes a mess EVERYWHERE and he doesn’t clean it either. You can’t tell if he’s doing it on purpose or if he’s just genuinely bad at painting nails. 

Overall, 1/10. 

Albedo:

Albedo makes sure you come out of his lab looking like you just got yours done at a 5 star nails salon. He won’t let you leave until it looks pleasing to the eye and until they look somewhat decent to him. 

Albedo uses his full concentration and you would notice that he won’t talk as much. You think he got some of the painting experience from Klee since she likes to play with Albedo and paint his nails sometimes. 6/10.

Genshin Character Design Notes

wanted to write down some stuff i’ve noticed while studying genshin character designs for my rottmnt au in case anyone could find them useful for their own crossovers/ocs.

these are not hard and fast rules as much as they are simple observations and patterns i’ve seen across characters. i am by no means telling people how to design their characters!! these are just things that i personally try to keep in mind while designing and wanted to share for those who are interested.

sorry it’s long, i’m obnoxiously meticulous and wordy 😔

5-star characters will almost always be using their burst in their wish art and the effects will usually take up half or more of the space. many will either have an almost solid background and/or ground to stand on. an exception to both of these would be klee which could be due to her being made very early in development.

4-star characters can be using either their skill or their burst and their effects will usually be pretty minimal with much more empty space around the character. effects are also much more generic save for some talent-specific visuals like sucrose’s butterfly or xingqiu’s swords. even the 4-stars with more complex art look basic next to 5-stars with similar effects (ex: chongyun/eula, xinyan/dehya, candace/tartaglia).

all of the archons so far have had their nation’s scenery incorporated into their wish art. nahida is possibly an exception as it looks like it’s just her burst, even though the burst itself seems to be based off of sumeru’s architecture, but this could also be due to her being isolated compared to the other three.

i feel like this one’s a given but long loose/draping fabrics and dangling ornaments are basically a requirement. this game has gorgeous cloth physics and they very much like to use that to their advantage in their designs.

also the characters’ movements and combat style often play a part in how they are dressed, especially in regards to the cloth physics. characters with quicker and more active movements, like sword users or those with more energetic personalities, have smaller capes, wear pants/shorter skirts, and overall have fewer loose fabrics to obscure those fast movements; their clothing/silhouette tends to hug closer to the body. meanwhile characters that have less movement and/or are more elegant, like catalysts, will have longer skirts or other long clothing items that accentuate those types of movements better. there are no strict rules for this one, but in general the clothing should complement how the character moves, not work against it.

most characters will have a very unique hair style/coloration (yelan, dehya, xiao) or they will have hats/hair ornaments (shogun, shenhe, childe) and many will have both. either way, their hair and head is an important point to add visual interest.

this one’s kind of specific, it’s just a fun thing i noticed: there are very few characters, if any, without a high collar, choker, or otherwise covered neck. i guess they don’t really like leaving the neck exposed lol.

basically this entire video has a ton of very good observations, but the main thing i keep in mind from it is that characters will “always have an appealing view from behind” since that’s how they are primarily viewed by the player during gameplay. characters in most other series will have a backside of their design that basically gets the job done and not much else. but genshin takes care to have a back view that is just as unique as the front. skirts and capes will have their own unique silhouette and flow. clothing cut, fabric patterns, and accessories will create shapes that are just as eye-catching as those in the front. they are basically almost their own unique character design, completely independent of what’s going on in the front.

the legs tend to act as a sort of “break” for the eyes, especially when viewed from the front. not counting skirts, the legs will usually have less patterning and/or darker, more subdued coloration compared to the torso. many characters will have bare legs or plain colored stockings or pants with large amounts of blank space/simple patterning.

some will have brighter colors or noticeable patterns compared to other characters, but it is almost never the main point of interest in the overall design. ex: yelan, shenhe, and albedo all have very ornate leggings/pants, but at first glance it’s generally drowned out by the brighter colors + higher contrast shapes on their torso.

some characters like razor, noelle, and heizou are exceptions to the pants rule. in these cases, the legs serve to simply balance out the design. razor and heizou’s brighter colors add interest to an otherwise simple and almost monochromatic design and noelle’s armored legs make her feel sturdy and more ornate, fitting for a knight. they are detailed enough to enhance the design, but not enough to take away focus from the upper body.

since the characters spend a lot of time running, climbing, etc, their legs are never completely covered/obscured. skirts, if not split, are knee-length at most. otherwise their animations would probably be a clipping nightmare.

pattern placement is very intentional on every part of the character. fabric patterns will generally follow the cut of the fabric so as not to interrupt the “flow” of the design. repeatable/tileable patterns are almost non-existent, except to add texture to a small area like the scales on zhongli’s coat, dark patterns on sara’s skirt, and glittery star-like textures on parts of several characters’ outfits.

(this one is very iffy and better left to your own judgement, but..) asymmetry is common, but not necessary. in fact, most characters’ silhouettes are pretty symmetrical; the asymmetry is more often in the smaller details like patterns or ornaments/accessories than anything else. more noticeable asymmetry is usually in angled/layered skirts (ningguang, faruzan, barbara) and one-sided capes/sashes (kaeya, alhaitham, wanderer), while the cut of the “base” outfit is otherwise symmetrical. the asymmetry in these designs is noticeable because it is used well, not just often. exceptions to this (namely yoimiya and tighnari) are usually going for a specific look that fits the character’s personal and cultural background and their personality.

aaaand that’s about all i can think of at the moment. i’m sure a lot more research and thought goes into these designs than what is listed here, but i am just one non-professional artist and i am far from knowing all the ins and outs of mihoyo’s design process 😔 these are just a few of the (purely surface-level) visual observations i’ve made while making my turtle au lol.

Happy holidays!! The last one!!! How exciting! I'll still post some brain rot on them. Don't worry, they won't disappear. Before I post anything lengthy on them, I really really should finish Sumeru to start Fontaine! Haha I'm so excited to grind through the quests to see the story of Fontaine and get more ideas for the Ice Dads.

For now, enjoy the how-would-they-all-share-a-bed trend on Tik Tok.

Kaeya is a cuddler, one arm draped over Wrio and the other under his pillow. He braids his hair at night to keep it from getting knotted and takes off his eye patch

The first time he took it off around Wrio and the others he was nervous, but they didn’t ask any questions about his scar or about the odd gold color of his eye, and he appreciated that

Wrio tends to sprawl out on the bed and drools in his sleep.

Wrio is also a light sleeper, it comes with being a prison guard, but that means Kaeya can’t sneak out as well when he has a nightmare.

Klee is between them, or basically on top of the two, a foot pushing Kaeya’s chin up and Dodoco clutched in her hand. She takes her hair out of her pigtails at night.

She gets soooo many knots in her hair, but Kaeya is great at brushing her hair gently

She’s a heavy sleeper, which is nice when Kaeya wakes up from a nightmare and has to untangle himself from her to brew a cup of tea.

Freminet is on the other side of Wrio, sleeping on top of Wrio’s arm. He’s the type to sleep very still and soundly, there’s a few times where Wrio swears he’s dead.

He clutches Percy to his chest as he sleeps, sometimes sleeping with his diving helmet on, much to Wrio’s chargin.

The blanket?

Usually, most of it goes to Freminet, who’s so cold all of the time, and the other half is like messily thrown over Wrio, who gets hot easily.

They actually need another blanket for Kaeya, who claims he’s okay, but Wrio knows he’s cold because he's shivering.

“Kaeya, just take the damn blanket for my peace of mind, okay?”

"W-w-what are you talking ab-b-bout? I'm fine."

*proceeds to get a fuzzy blanket or a coat thrown over him*

I headcannon that Kaeya got cold easily before his vision, and now it’s even worse.

It’s the reason why he wears so many layers. After so many years, he’s gotten used to being cold, you know?

At nighttime, it’s worse since he isn’t moving often to keep warm.

On days where he over uses his vision, his body gets really achy, and he’s like 50% sure he’s getting hypothermia. The other half is like “nah, that won’t happen.”

Wrio would disagree, but that’s a whole other drabble.

(if they don’t have an extra blanket Wrio drapes his coat over Kaeya)

So most of the time the blanket ends up draped over Kaeya’s legs/lower torso and he just cuddles with Wrio to keep warm.

Klee is honestly too restless to even keep a blanket on her, and she is also like a mini furnace. Is it from her pyro vision or just from being naturally hot-blooded, who’s to say?

Dislikes: I don't like spicy food, and I'm a really picky eater. I hate when someone ignores me, it's honestly quite annoying, especially when they're next to me/online. Hate when someone wakes me up, just let me sleep!!!

Some interests: I looove hazbin hotel, I've been a fan since 2020! I also like to play games like genshin, Minecraft, and most importantly, visual novels!! I love visual novels, especially when they're horror ones! Another thing I like is horror, but not a lot of blood- I prefer more psychological horror, you know?

Some random things: I relate to some characters, some of them are Komi San, Coraline, Runa, Yae Miko, Qiqi, Klee and more! My favorite color is pink, but I like all the colors!! I loove colorful things :D I can get distracted easily, and gather a lot of useless information. So if someone has a random fact, I'm definetly dying to hear it!!

It’s the same story with the tables. It always amazed me how nothing falls off them in his work, and now it’s like I can understand the utter despair of these victuals. She pins my legs and gives my doomed hands a soft task. Tears, fisticuffs, the ritual sacrifice of round birds. Their fall happens at too great a distance to divine anything from the asphalt remains. One of my favorite things to do after events in Genshin is to find the various characters scattered across the map and see what they have to say so I don’t miss out on any possible lore drops or whatever, and two pieces of dialogue that really stood out to me were these from Venti, Mona, and Klee. Venti’s little love poem reminds me a lot of how I envision the true form of my Sagau story’s Creator to look like. Caratrice’s true form is a six-winged dragon who’s design is based off of a mixture of Reshiram (my favorite legendary Pokémon) and biblically accurate angels. Her primary colors are white and gold, and Venti mentions both of those colors in his poem. “A shade more ethereal than white/yet more radiant still than gold…” To me, it kinda sounds like he’s writing a love poem to Caratrice, which is sort of funny because I really do see Barbatos being one of the most devoted followers of the Creator. He would 100% write cheesy love poems to any incarnation of the Creator, whether it be my version of them or someone else’s, because he genuinely adores them with all of his heart. Too bad he’s set up to be an antagonist in my story…bummer.

With Klee and Mona, I just thought it was funny that the most common way to refer to the playable characters in my Sagau story is to call them “Vessels” and Klee doesn’t even know what that word means. Who chose this child to be an envoy of the Creator? And where the fuck is her mother??

Ever since I started writing Messianic Aureation I’ve picked up on a lot of things in Genshin that make me feel like the characters are listening to me or can even see what I’m writing. I know they aren’t and it’s just my overactive imagination, but still, part of me can’t help but be afraid that I could be contributing to a case of videogame self awareness lmao.

Btw I will say that I am moderately okay at drawing dragons, so I may attempt to sketch out a rough design of Caratrice’s true form and post it here for people to see. Idk if I’ll ever get around to doing it but if I do look out for it!

Okay okay so like everything else I do, I made this up as I went along, but I put a slightly unhealthy amount of thought into everything. This is basically just the part where I infodump random details that I’m proud of

Kaeya has stars in his hair, Albedo has a crescent moon on his belt, and Klee has sun emblems on her dress and in her hair ☀️🌙✨ I am obsessed with sun, moon, and star dynamics and it shows (Albedo also has stars on his boots but that’s just cause I couldn’t think of anything else to put there so shhhhh)

Klee’s signature color is red, and Kaeya’s is blue, so Albedo is wearing purple. I cried when I had the idea

Kaeya’s wearing a black shirt and light pants. Inversely, Albedo’s wearing a white shirt and black pants. Klee’s mimicking both of them with a light shirt and pants. (This was completely on accident and I only thought of it after I had colored everything)

They’re matching a little by all having braids in their hair. They had a little braid train and helped each other do their hair

Albedo also had a ridiculous amount of alternative outfits because I just could not decide what he should be wearing

This was the first one I tried, but it looked kind of Fontainian to me and I just wasn’t feeling it

Somewhere along the way I drew him in an ao dai because his English VA is Vietnamese and I’ve been looking for excuses to draw ao dais since I used to wear them as a kid

And then here’s a few of the many, many variations of his final outfit:

I liked the idea of a cape, but I just couldn’t find one that felt exactly right, so I ended up leaving it out

For Kaeya, I scrolled through the desi Kaeya tag and looked at different arts of him (fellow Kaeya enthusiasts, if you haven’t done this yet then please go do it all these artists make him look so good) and searched up a few different fashions/traditional wear for inspiration. I tried to be respectful while also interpreting the outfit loosely but seriously someone please tell me if I did anything disrespectfully cause I really don’t want to do that

I do kind of feel like he’s lacking in details and color range, and I sort of wish I’d included some peacock feathers, but I was having trouble visualizing any intricate details for any of them. I think the most complex decals is either the stars in Kaeya’s hair or the sparkles on Klee’s skirt

Kaeya also went through a couple different hairstyles; I started with his normal hair, tried a bunch of random stuff, and eventually settled on my take on the braid from his Sailwind Shadow skin

Here’s a couple that I tried during the process:

Hmmm okay now that I’m looking at these pictures I’m thinking I need to draw him with a high ponytail again sometime. And also the bun. And the chunky braid too. Dang it Kaeya, stop being so beautiful (I’m joking please don’t)

And as for Klee, she really didn’t change much from beginning to end. I had pretty much finished both Albedo and Kaeya by the time I even started on her, so I was both in the zone and losing steam, so I kinda just went with my first attempts at everything. Pretty much the only change was I tried drawing her with braids instead of pigtails for all of thirty seconds before I decided that the pigtails were just too iconic and couldn’t be left out

You've seen new Kaeya skin leaks, right? What do you think about it? I myself really love it, but I've seen people complain about lack of Mondstdadt elements

Yeah, I’ve seen it, I love it so much. I mean, I might be biased bc I just recently said that my fav genshin designs are neutral black-white base plus solid color plus gilded details, so that look is like they’ve been listening to my preferences specifically asdfgjf but they went above and beyond. The peacock patterns that don’t look overcluttered. Braid supremacy. Painted nails and rings. Jewelry in general. The dagger. Fur looks so much better. Finally good silhouette. Cape is mwah. 100 out of ten, would pay actual money, esp if hoyo added dagger to fight animations.

But about the lack of mond, its like fifty fifty at this point. It might be thematically significant, like with fischl’s skin being important to characterization. But it might be ayaka situation where she’s dressed as a character from manga about French detective girlie bc religious ritual vote, and it adds nothing to the actual character. I mean, I personally will live in the delusional fantasy that he’s reconnecting with sumeru half of the family, but I know hoyo won’t free him. But it might just as well be that he’s playing Sindbad rip-off play with klee or smth. Hard to guess without at least skin description

Beach Days With The Genshin Characters!

A/N: These we’re supposed to be a lot shorter but I got too excited and here we are lmao. If you wanna see some of your favs in this scenario lmk! Requests are currently open (and not just for this one prompt! Also! Repost from my old blog!

♡Diluc:

This man cannot swim. Tell me otherwise, I dare you.

Kaeya tried to jokingly push him off a lil diving cliff area when they were kids.

He almost drowned. Kaeya was in a lot of trouble.

So, good luck getting this man to actually get in the water. The most he’ll do is sit on the shore where it’s very shallow.

He usually prefers to just stay under an umbrella on the sand and keep an eye on you.

Calls you every two hours in advance and helps you reapply sunscreen.

He’s very pale so I feel like he burns pretty easily, meaning he needs to reapply super frequently otherwise he will become a tomato. He brings like three bottles of the good shit. Tch, rich boy.

If you ask him to build a sandcastle, he will pretend to be annoyed but do it anyways. Ends up finding it kind of enjoyable.

He has the maids prepare a nice picnic basket for the two of you!! It’s got all your favorite foods plus grape juice cuz y’know.

If any creepy peeps approach you, don’t worry. He brought his vision and his claymore.

Of course, he won’t have to resort to such violent lengths. Everyone in Mondstadt knows who Diluc is and they probably know you’re his s/o, so they’re usually smart enough to mind their own business.

If they don’t, don’t worry. Diluc’s glare is more than enough to scare them away.

All in all I definitely recommend a beach day with him! I’ll give it a solid 8/10 (-2 for not wearing floaties and getting in the water with you or letting you teach him how to swim.

♡Albedo:

You guys definitely 100% take Klee out with you on a beach day.

You guys bring snacks, beach toys like buckets and shovels for optimal sandcastle building, a picnic blanket, etc.

Jean definitely packs a lot more stuff for you guys to take with you than you actually need.

It’s only cuz she’s worried for Klee and is nervous about not being able to go with you guys though! It’s very sweet really.

Klee tries to bomb the fish and cause havoc at the beach 😭

I think Albedo is a good swimmer and gets in with you and Klee so that he can help her (which is very cute omfg)

He’s set total workaholic, as we know, so it took a lot of convincing to get him to put down his experiments and accompany you to the beach (however, he’s particularly weak to yours and klee’s puppy dog eyes so he caved eventually)

Though, looking at you and Klee happily building sandcastles and decorating them with pretty seashells of all shapes and colors, he can’t really find it in himself to complain.

He, of course, takes this opportunity to take out his sketchbook and draw the waves, seagulls, you… Of course he won’t let you see the sketch book no sir. He’s a bit embarrassed to be honest, but an artist such as himself recognizes beauty when he sees it so he simply had to draw you. (God I love him so much)

If a creepy person approaches you,- well don’t worry. The sight of a small arsonist child blowing up fish is enough to scare them away 🥰

At the end of the day, all three of you are all ticketed out. Albedo has to carry Klee back to Mondstadt because the poor baby fell asleep the moment you started drying her hair with the beach towel. You’re, of course, carrying back Dodoco and your bags. (You also manage to sneak a peak at Albedo’s sketchbook and find some very pretty drawings of you and Klee with your sandcastle)

At the end of the day, you guys tuck Klee in and read her a bedtime story (she woke up and insisted). Afterwards Albedo takes you back home and thanks you for coming with you and Klee (which you ofc say wasn’t a problem because how could you not???)

All in all? I’ll give it a solid 10/10. You’ve got tasty food, fun times, your boyfriend and his cute kid adoptive sister (yes I am very biased idc)

♡Xiao:

I think it would take a lot of convincing to get Xiao to go out on a beach date with you.

He’ll probably see it as a distraction getting in the way of his slaying of monsters and demons.

However, he also worships the grounds you walk on (hehe, simp XD), so I don’t think it’ll take that much convincing on your part (especially because it’s is self appointed duty to keep you safe so if you insist on going with or without him, he supposes he’ll have to go)

Is definitely a bit tense at first. He doesn’t know how to let loose and chill so while you’re sun tanning on a beach chair he’s like 🧍‍♂️ahdgshjsjd

Eventually calms down a bit though! You get him to relax and eat some almond tofu you brought along with you. It definitely gets him to perk up.

I don’t think he would mind getting into the water but I do think he’d rather walk along the shore and collect pretty seashells and sea glass.

He later gives the ones he deems pretties to you (he hands them over to you with a blush on his face and pretends it’s not a big deal and he definitely gets all pouty and grouchy when you coo at how adorable he is)

As for creeps, Xiao is both intimidating and well known in Liyue. No one is brave enough (or, let’s be honest, dumb enough) to approach you with any bad intentions.

Sure, Xiao has sworn never to harm a human/citizen of Liyue but that doesn’t mean he can’t scare the absolute shit out of them.

I think Xiao would definitely enjoy a beach day 🥺🥺. He’d find it very relaxing to go out with you and just hear the sound of waves and feel the sand under his feet.

He’d definitely hint at wanting to do it again later. Of course, he won’t tell you. No, that’s a foolish mortal activity and he has much better things to do.

Wait no, don't turn around, yes he will go with you next month.

All in all, I give Xiao a 9/10. It’s a very relaxing day (which he deserves 😤). And you get to see a whole new side of him.

OK SO ORIGINALLY I WASN'T GONNA WRITE ONE FOR HER (at least not in this post) BUT THEN I THOUGHT OF LADY NINGGUANG TAKING YOU TO A WHOLE ASS PRIVATE BEACH

She knows you don’t care about how exclusive the beach you go to is (in fact, the fact that you don’t care about where you are or what you do is one of the things that make her fall more and more madly in love with you) but you deserve the best so she’s gonna go all out.

She’s a busy lady so days like this where the two of you get to go somewhere and be together are few and far between.

She knows it’s hard to be in a relationship with someone who is busy 24/7, so she appreciates how you remain by her side despite all hardships. (Y’all are a whole ass power couple istg)

The two of you spend your day relaxing. Sun bathing, drinking piña coladas, maybe taking a dip in the ocean. It’s all very pleasant!

Ningguang doesn’t quite feel like the type of person who would sit in the sand and make sandcastle, however you’re more than welcome to make some yourself. She finds it endearing <3

If you insist on her helping, she’ll eventually comply. She loves you too much to say no. I feel like she’ll either be terrible at it or like a total architect.

Sand is technically like tiny rocks right? So maybe she can use her vision to help her? If that’s the case, she’s making a replica of the Jade chamber out of sand.

If any creepy person comes up to you don’t worry. Ningguang will buy the whole beach and then use her right of admission as owner to permanently ban them from the beach you’re at.

The only downside to a day at the beach with Ningguang might be that there’s a big chance she’ll be called to tend urgent matters, seeing as she is the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing and all.

If that does happen, she’ll be sure to make it up to you somehow, whether it be rescheduling or taking care of the matter as soon as possible so that the two of you can get back to your day of relaxation and fun.

All in all?? Lady Ningguang will treat you like total royalty and the two of you will have an amazing time! I give her an 11/10 (she would literally buy a whole beach for you to be comfortable I mean c’mon)

BEACH DAYS WITH HIM ARE SO FUN!!

Swimming? Yeah, he’d love to! Sunbathing? Sure! He’ll even conjure up a light breeze for the two of you. Sandcastle building? WELL OF COURSE WHY DO YOU THING HE BROUGHT ALL THESE BUCKETS AND SHOVELS?

No but seriously, he might be the best person out of everyone here to go to the beach with. He’s fun, free spirited, and he’s a traveling bard who’s been alive long enough to know where all the best beaches in Teyvat are. (He also knows a guy- er, well, dragon I suppose- who is willing to fly them to any place).

He’ll play some soft tunes while you doze under the sun.

HE PICKS PRETTY SHELLS AND GIFTS THEM TO YOU!!!

He will bring booze. I’m pretty sure this is a necessity. If you’re a little upset about it, he’ll probably “eheh~” his way out of it. That slick bastard.

If you really insist on him not drinking, he won’t consume much alcohol.

If some creepy person approaches you and tries to ruin you your day of beach time fun, all of their stuff will suddenly be blown away, causing them to scramble back to their spot and (almost embarrassingly) flail around trying to catch everything. What a shame…

At the end of the day, he’d be a little sad to leave. Definitely makes plans about tbe two of you going back soon.

synopsis: jean and you go to the kindergarten parent teacher conference.

Jean was a responsible mother. You didn’t know if you would label yourself responsible considering you spoiled your adopted child, Jean often lectured the both of you for making too much of a mess— you always made sure to clean up and make it up to her.

“School conferences?” Jean asked, a few moments after you handed her the mail that had just come in, “I thought they weren’t doing that until first grade.”

The paper was a plain barrage of text with the school mascot at the corner. Klee had handed Jean a paper asking to arrange a time and date within the week. You sat next to your wife as she skimmed through the information. 

“You’re free Tuesday right?” Jean asked, looking at her phone which had her work schedule on it. 

You thought for a second and nodded, “Yeah I should be.” 

“Does… Tuesday at 1:45 p.m sound good?” 

“Sure.”

Klee dreaded the idea of conferences. It was the perfect opportunity for her teacher to spill all of the instances she would have gotten in trouble. It’s not fair! It’s not her fault the bunsen burner in the 6th grade chemistry room was so cool! 

Klee had a reputation for getting into accidents, usually involving doing something a bit too dangerous for school grounds to handle. It was nothing dangerous or unheard of enough for a call home and a report to the office, but it was enough to make Jean angry. 

Not even you could save her from the fury of Jean, you were too busy making googly eyes at her! 

Klee tried her best to act as aloof and nonchalant as possible. Her act was blown the next day at breakfast. 

“You’re acting suspicious.” Jean stated, the small girl sitting across from her at the table with a piece of toast and jam in front of her. 

The pigtailed troublemaker shook her head, “No, I’m not. You’re umm… Over… Thinking it.”

She was sweating bullets, you were in the kitchen washing dishes so there was no way you could help her! The worst part about it all was that Klee couldn’t even hide it, all she could do was frantically eat her toasted bread and hope she’d choke to change the subject. 

She never choked, but Jean dropped the subject when you came into the room with more coffee. You received a kiss on the cheek as a ‘thank you.’

The conference event rolled around sooner than anybody would like, you were excited to hear all about your beloved daughters learning. Jean already knew she was going to hear something atrocious and prepared the outcome of solitary confinement in her head.

Klee on the other hand, was outside playing on the few playground toys. Hoping that everything would go smoothly. 

It didn’t. 

“Klee has a bit of a reputation of setting things on fire, nothing terrible, obviously. She’s snuck into the chemistry room to play with the burners and managed to burn sticks during playtime outside,” the kindergarten teacher started, “She’s also made a bad habit of getting some other kids in trouble too, another child, Diona, is also getting into pranks.” 

The teacher shook her head while Jean and yourself remained completely frozen. Fires? During recess?

Before your beloved could even comment on it, the teacher presented a variety of papers which had red correction markings all over the mangled words that was Klee's handwriting.

“Not to mention her horrendous grades, I really don’t mean to pry into any business that isn’t mine, but, is everything going okay at home?”

You knew that the sweet kindergarten teacher probably meant no harm in that question, her tone filled with genuine concern. Jean was beyond furious when she had walked out of the classroom, hiding it all behind a false smile and fierce footsteps which echoed through the colorful hallways. 

“Klee! Your parents are here to pick you up,” the woman watching over the playing children called, gesturing to the direction in which you and your wife stood. 

Jean was trying her best to keep appearances, smiling the sweetest she could as she guided Klee into where the car was parked. 

“Klee.” She finally spoke once they were inside, it was all over, “I understand now. I understand why you were acting so strange.”

“Darling, I really think—“ your attempt to butt in was futile, Jean spoke over your meek voice. 

She turned around to face her daughter who was hiding her face in her hands, suddenly her eyes softened, “You will be spending the rest of the day in solitary confinement. All games outside of school are not allowed for the rest of the week.”

“Including… Dodoco Adventure?”

“Dodoco Adventure, especially.”

The young girl let out a dramatic wail, sniffles and muffled sobs filled the backseat of the car. Apologies along with more wails after being ignored.

You felt your heart throb uncomfortably in your chest as you heard her quietly cry. You'd try to sneak her some fun time during the slow moving week, but how else was she supposed to learn?

The conference was a disaster.

Note: The long-awaited body painting fic! I’ve been looking for way to write this for ages and I feel like I was finally able to do the idea justice hehe

It’s by no means an unusual scene for the two of you — Your naked form splayed out in front of Albedo, watching his every move with bated breath while his hands wander across your skin with featherlight touches. He’s shirtless — Mainly to make you feel a little more comfortable about your own nudity —, looking down at you with the usual calm, soft expression that he reserves for you and Klee only.

At first glance, it’s no different from most other nights the two of you spend with each other, given how often you’re just lazily tracing each other’s bodies until the early morning hours.

And yet, tonight feels different, your heart pounding in your chest almost as if it was the first time Albedo gets to see you like this. (It isn’t. In fact, he probably knows your body even better than you do at this point.)

It was a bit unexpected when Albedo proposed this idea, starting with nothing more than a few whispered words while your head was resting on his chest and his hand was left tangled in your hair. “You’re beautiful, better than any piece of art.” He had told you, earning himself a nervous chuckle from you in return. No matter how many times he tells you this, a small part of you always leaves you doubting his words.

“I don’t think I could compare to any of your artworks. It’s like everything you touch turns into a masterpiece.” You said, hoping to hide your insecurities behind a compliment of your own, to which Albedo just gave you a dissatisfied hum. Of course, it’s no use trying to hide anything from Albedo — Not with how well he knows you, how easily he can figure out what you’re feeling with a single look.

“Perhaps I should make you my canvas then so you’ll see yourself as the masterpiece you are?” He proposed after taking a few moments to think. The idea sounded strange, but you agreed to it nevertheless, feeling intrigued by his proposal.

This leads you where you are now, watching as Albedo mixes some paints in various colors, from pastel blues to vibrant yellows, and dips the paintbrush in them before turning to you again.

Upon noticing the look on your face, Albedo gives you a gentle smile. “Don’t worry. These are natural paints, I promise it’s safe for them to be in contact with your skin… I wouldn’t do anything that could harm you,” he promises. With his free hand he smoothes back some of your hair before pressing a gentle kiss on your forehead, then he straightens his posture again, slightly leaning over your to start painting.

It’s a mix of strange, new sensations for you — The wet paint that’s slightly cold to the touch at first, then slowly begins to dry as it’s spread out across your skin, making you feel every wave of air, every breath Albedo lets out as he leans over you much more intensely than you usually would.

The slight tickle of the brush against your skin has you fighting the urge to move away from the weird feeling.

And then, there’s the way Albedo looks at you with a focused gaze, slightly squinting whenever he determines whether he’s satisfied with certain shapes or if he should make adjustments. Every once in a while he sits back to look at the entirety of what he’s painted so far, making sure it’s all turning out as planned.

You’re not sure what to make of the way this makes you feel — You’re used to Albedo looking at you and usually, you’re perfectly comfortable with that, but the intensity of his gaze makes you feel like he sees you on a much deeper level this time. He’s seeing every small detail, paying attention to every part of you as he works, even the bits you’re insecure about.

In a way it’s oddly comforting, watching the way Albedo’s expression always remains calm with a hint of soft, loving warmth — Not the slightest change that would indicate dissatisfaction with any part of you, even as he gets to some of the curves that you so often look at with a critical frown, or the one birthmark you don’t like the shape of.

When he reaches the stretch marks on the sides of your hips, Albedo halts for a moment, tracing them with his fingertips, a slight frown on his face. So, there’s something he dislikes after all. The thought immediately pops up in your mind to fill you with a mild discomfort. You can’t blame him though — You’ve spent so many times looking at them, just wishing for them to disappear, but it seems like it just can’t be helped.

You decide to break the silence the two of you had been in up until this point, clearing your throat. “I don’t like them either,” you then admit in a quiet mumble, “So… It’s alright, you can just focus on other parts if you want.”

Albedo raises an eyebrow, eyes wandering to your face to examine your expression, his own softening when he notices your discomfort. “Who said I didn’t like them?” He asks, his tone soft. “I was just thinking about what to do right here,” his hand still rests on your hip, now gently rubbing the skin, “but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it.” He then smiles, leaving a quick kiss on your cheek and speaking to you in a lowered voice as he rests his forehead against yours. “These marks are a part of you, and I hope you know that I love them just as much as everything else about you. Small imperfections are what makes you human, but that’s not a bad thing. To me, you’re beautiful the way you are and I wouldn’t change anything about you. I hope that I’ll be able to make you realize your own beauty as well.” His voice is nothing but sincere and you can’t help but smile, feeling some of your insecurities fall away.

After this, you feel much calmer about the way he looks at you while he’s working, feeling reassured that you won’t have to worry about allowing Albedo to see even the parts of you that you’re insecure about.

A while later, Albedo sits back to look you over once again, but this time, he sets the paintbrush aside with a satisfied smile afterward. “We’re done. Come here so I can show you!”

He makes some space for you to sit up next to him, gently pulling you closer to look at yourself in the tall, wooden mirror on the opposite side of the room. Albedo rests his head on your shoulder, softly smiling as you look at yourself.

It really is quite beautiful — A sea of flowers and vines stretching all across your torso, shoulders, and hips. And somehow Albedo has found a way to work your features into it as well, turning stretch marks into vines, and letting the flowers spread out along your curves, all of it making up what you can only describe as a masterpiece. You weren’t just his canvas — You’re a part of the artwork itself.

“It looks beautiful,” you breathe out, and Albedo softly chuckles.

“That’s what I think every single time I look at you,” Albedo says, leaving a small trail of kisses along your shoulder. “I just used a few paints to emphasize the parts of you that already were beautiful.” He says it with such sincerity that you can’t help but believe him. Maybe you should try seeing yourself through his eyes a little more often.
