If I Should Stay
Holy shit, y’all are insane. My tag list is over a HUNDRED (wtf y’all I’m kissing every single one of you on the forehead it was EIGHT before this) and the first part got over 800 notes in 24 hours. I love y’all 😂 With that being said though, Tumblr only allows for 50 mentions per post. So I’m drafting another post with the other 50-odd mentions that I’ll link this to. Unfortunately I’m not willing to make more than two posts, meaning my tag list is officially CLOSED. I’m so sorry, y’all, please know I love every single one of you SO much!! If you’d like to follow along and didn’t make it onto the taglist, go ahead and follow the ‘#if I should stay’ tag. I’ll make sure to use this tag for every update! Thank you all SO SO MUCH!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and if you want to be dropped from the taglist, that’s fine too; just let me know! ❤️
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Steve is terrified.
Honestly, after the Russians and the Upside Down and everything else, Steve thought he’d never be scared again.
Then he woke up in school in 1984.
He looks around, wide-eyed, only to stop when Tommy and Carol look at him weirdly. “Uh, Steve?” Carol asks. “You look like you’re about to puke.”
Full of tact, just like always. He shakes off the feeling of wrong crawling on his skin and smiles at her. “I’m fine,” he says, when nothing could be further from the truth.
She opens her mouth to respond. Steve breathes a sigh of relief when the bell goes off, only for him to realize he has no idea where he’s going.
Thank God for Carol, apparently, because she throws her head back with a groan. “Math,” she complains. “I hate math.”
Steve feels a zing of recognition dart through him. He had English while she was in math. They used to complain about it between classes.
He feels excited when he realizes Robin will be in this class, then just as suddenly excitement turns to nausea when he realizes she might not remember him.
He walks into class, trying to keep his hopes down, and briefly makes eye contact with her.
She’s doodling in a notebook, looking around the room. Their eyes meet.
Robin’s pencil lead snaps.
Steve freezes.
He opens his mouth, he’s not sure for what, but she shakes her head slightly.
She stands and makes her way towards him before her eyes flutter back in her head and she drops.
She would’ve fallen on the ground if he hadn’t caught her. Whispers start up, enough to get the teacher to look up. “Mr. Harrington,” she says. “I’m not sure what dance moves you think you’re trying, but I will remind you this is an English classroom.”
“Yes ma’am,” he says. “Um. She passed out. I think I should probably take her to the nurse.”
She leans over her desk to peer first at Steve, then at Robin, who still has her eyes closed. “Very well,” she says. “I’ll give you a hall pass. Please ensure she returns once her little spell has worn off.”
He nods, shifts Robin completely into his arms, and walks out of the classroom.
He walks down the hallway and stops by an empty classroom, darting in when nobody’s looking. “Robs,” he chokes, and her arms are around his neck and now he’s choking for an entirely different reason.
She’s shaking, and he feels hot tears land on his shoulder, and he knows she feels the same from his tears. “I thought-”
“I know,” Steve whispers. “I thought the same. I woke up and I was with Tommy and Carol again and I didn’t know what was going on and I was terrified you weren’t gonna remember me.”
“Jesus,” she says. She’s laughing a little, through her tears. “Imagine how I felt, waking up in Mrs. Click’s class. Thought I’d had a weird fever dream. Then you walked in, and…”
“Yeah,” he agrees. “Jesus, Robs, I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“Right back atcha, Dingus,” she whispers, which really just makes his tears start all over again. “Who else do you think knows?”
Steve sighs. “I don’t know. And other than asking them, and risking getting sent to a padded room…”
“Yeah.” Robin sighs.
“Oh, fuck,” Steve says, tensing up.
“What?”
“I’m pretty sure I’m still with Nancy.”
I tried to tag everyone who wanted it… I’m so sorry if I missed you! Once again I’m so sorry about closing the taglist. Thank you for understanding! ❤️

I hath come bearing a request:
Bully!Eddie with an insecure Reader where he openly flirts with someone else where she can see in an effort to make her jealous, and it does. She is jealous of the nicer version of his attention they’re receiving, but she’s more sad than anything else.
She’d started to think that maybe he did pick on her because he was interested. Like how boys would pull a girl’s hair back in elementary school. But after seeing him flirt with someone else, she realizes that can’t be the case.
Reader supposes that no one wants her. Even the “freak” of Hawkins High is beyond her league.
Happy ending if you can, pretty please 🩷
I'm usually against bully!Eddie but I did like the angst in this so I'm going to do it but he won't be like a huge bully, just an ass? I hope this is what you were looking for and I tried to make it happy :) ( with the help from my SB)
Never proofread
There's a time in life where the line between love and hate is blurry and no amount of staring at that line will make it clear.
Y/N was on the love side, she had big feelings for Eddie. Her nose in the air as she follows the scent of his strong musky cologne and a hint of weed. She couldn't pick who she fell for, it was out of her control. She didn't want to love him, but she did. She had so many reasons why she loved him but there was one big reason why she shouldn't- he hated her.
Eddie was on the hate side of that line. She can't pin point where she pissed him off or what she did to make him hate her. It was like the second they met, he pushed her and she fell in love. She's an idiot and she knew that. It was obvious he didn't like her. The rude comments sent her way about all the little things she does. He teased her, tripped her, smacked her books in the hallway, but all her heart focused on was that he interacted with her.
Her dumb heart craved to be near him, even though her brain was screaming how horrible of an idea it was.
She already suffered with insecurities and somehow Eddie knew how to hit all the open wounds.
A part of her thought maybe he did like her, he just wasn't sure how to show it. He didn't seem like the type to be affectionate and sweet. Maybe this was the only way he knew how to show his emotions. Or maybe that was a shitty delusion she created to help her sleep at night.
~~~
Y/N heard from other students that there was going to be a partner project in English and she hated that she knew no one in that class, except Eddie.
She knew if she asked he'd shut her down and embarrass her in front of everyone watching so she planned to do this project alone. But turns out the teacher already assigned partners.
"Y/N and Eddie"
Y/N perked at the sound of their names, her eyes finding his body. He had an annoyed expression on his face. She felt her heart drop, he didn't want to be near her.
"Excuse me?" Eddie announced, throwing his hand in the air. The teacher rolled his eyes but allowed Eddie to speak.
"what If I can't stand my partner and rather fail the project than spend a second with her?" His words were cruel and mean. She hated the smirk on his face when looked over at her.
The whole class erupted in laughs, with a few pity looks sent her way. She couldn't tell which hurt worse, people laughing or people feeling bad for her. She shrunk down in her seat, Eddie once again embarrassed her for his own pleasure.
"Munson. Watch your mouth." The teacher talked over the class.
Against his will, Eddie accepted that she was his partner. Her head down as she walked over to his desk. Holding her breath as she took the seat next to him.
"I'm sorry you got partnered with me " she whispered, looking at his eyes as he glared at her.
"You should be." He snapped.
~~~
Being his partner was just as miserable as she thought. Every time she sat in that English class next to him, he shared every thought he had about her. He never had anything nice to say.
"Yellow is not your color." He said in disgust as she sat next to him, in her new yellow sundress. A dress that had her smiling all morning. Now the material against her thighs made her sick to her stomach.
Then the project moved to her house. Apparently, her room was not to his liking.
"Books? Fucking nerd. People with lives don't have time to read." He snickered
She just shrugged it off.
"you know you might be pretty if you actually tried." He mocked, looking through the book, his eyes never looking at her.
....might be pretty
If she changed, would he like her?
If she changed everything he hated, would he have anything left to say?
~~~
They've been working on the project for a few days. Every day she changed little by little. She threw the yellow dress in her trash. She packed away the books she barely read. Tore off every girly poster on her wall and removed all the things he pointed out on her desk. She styled her hair every day, and learned how to do make up that would show she "tried" every day.
And he never said anything
Just found new things to hate about her.
She was starting to wonder why he hadn't run out of anything yet. He somehow found something wrong about her every single day. Things she didn't think she would dislike about herself.
But he noticed everything about her, that means he liked her, right?
~~~
He didn't like her
It was apparent now
It was the final day in class to work on the project, and the whole hour was spent watching Eddie and a random girl flirt.
Her name was Brie, and Eddie seemed to really like her.
He was.....nice
His eyes were soft, never glaring at her.
He complimented her. On her hair, outfit, makeup, and personality.
Paying no attention to the project they need to work on. He was all focused on her and how perfect she was.
If Eddie ever liked her, he would treat her the same way he was treating Brie.
The line between love and hate was not as blurry as she thought.
~~~
Watching Eddie flirt with Brie today was not how she wanted her day to go, and now she had to end her day with Eddie.
She sat silently on her bed as he made his way through the bedroom door. She wanted to finish the project and never spend another second near him again.
But Eddie looked around her room confused, and walked over to each corner.
"What?" She snapped, guessing he was taking in her room to find something else wrong with it.
"Where are all your books?" He found himself asking.
Y/N was annoyed by the question.
"None of your business, Can we work now?" Her attitude was noticeable in her tone.
Eddie swallowed and sat next to her, beginning to work on the project. Yanking the notebook paper too hard, ripping the piece in half.
He quickly crumpled it up and went to throw it in the trash, spotting the familiar yellow dress in it.
"Why did you throw this away?" He asked, taking the dress out, nothing else was in the trash so it was untouched.
She looked up, her eyes turning hard when she spotted the color. She hated that his eyes seemed guilty. He wasn't sorry.
"Who cares, it didn't look good on me so I don't need it. Look can we work or not? We already missed an hour because of your little date with Brie this afternoon." His constant interruptions were driving her crazy.
She watched Eddie drop the dress on her desk, a smirk growing on his face.
"Jealous of the pretty girl?" He mocked. His eyes switched back to that teasing look.
She rolled her eyes and put her focus on the project. But Eddie didn't appreciate the silence. Walking up to her as she sat on the bed.
"I asked you," he said, gripping her chin to look up at him, "Were you jealous of her?"
She wanted to smack the smug look off of his face.
She yanked her jaw out of his grip, slamming the book as she stood up. Chest to chest with him as she huffed.
"YES! I am fucking jealous. But not because she's pretty and she knows how to capture your attention. But because you were so nice to her. You didn't pick her apart until she was a tiny shell of a person! I just thought maybe you picked on me because you liked me, but I can see I thought wrong." She ranted out, catching her breath at the end as Eddie stared at her. He slowly blinked as he took in her words.
"I threw away the dress because all it did was remind me how much you fucking hated it. I got rid of the books because you made fun of my interests. You made me hate the remaining parts of myself that I actually liked." She continued, her eyes filling with water.
Eddie didn't know what to say, but the regret was clear in his eyes as he looked at her sadly. He figured he should start with an apology.
"Y/N...I am so sorry...I'm sorry." He whispered, reaching forward to wipe her tears but she stepped back. Protecting herself as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Just go." She whispered back, keeping her focus on the floor.
"Please let me f-" He started but she caught him off.
"Eddie, I don't care what else you have to say. I am done talking to you. Please just go."
~~~
She dreaded going to school. Eddie left last night when she asked, and she's been terrified to see him again. She didn't bother to believe his apology, there was a good chance he didn't mean it.
She stayed up all night finishing the project, she did not want to work with him again.
She was walking to class, eyes on the floor as she always does. She grew more and more nervous as she made it closer to English. Preparing herself to see Eddie again.
Before she knew it, she felt her body being shoved to the ground. She didn't have time to catch herself and smacked her nose against the floor. She gasped at the horrible pain that shot through her nose, cradling it softly. She could feel her hands getting wet from blood. She looked up, expecting it to be Eddie, but it wasn't. It was someone who bullied people to an extreme amount, Jason.
She felt the tears flowing down her face. Crying from the pain in her nose and the embarrassment running through her body as everyone laughed and stared.
"HEY!" she heard Eddie's familiar scream. Her body froze as he raced towards her. Fear in his veins as she worried about what he would add to her suffering.
His eyes looked over her frame, glaring once he spotted the blood leaking through the cracks of her fingers. The familiar dangerous look in his eyes almost had her apologizing for nothing at all. But then he turned, right fist clenched as he knocked Jason straight to the floor.
The crowd gasped and moved closer. Silent for a small minute before another punch landed on Jason's face. Once the students caught a sight of blood coming out of Jason's nose, the crowd began to scream, encouraging the violence in front of them.
She didn't understand why Eddie was beating the hell out of Jason, and not joining him. She used the distraction to get up and race to the nurse. Running as fast as she could away from the crowd that was focused on the new fight at hand.
"DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH HER!"
The anger in Eddie's voice almost made her turn, almost made her feel protected, almost made her feel safe...but just almost.
~~~
She sat in the nurses office, the bleeding stopped but she held the tissue to her nose just in case. Minutes later a fuming Eddie wandered in, his bloody knuckles caused the nurse to gasp and race for an ice pack in the back freezer, down the hall.
She tried to avoid looking at him. Praying if she didn't move a single muscle, he wouldn't see her.
"Are you okay?" The softness in his voice was something she never experienced. She made herself look at him, trying to see if that truly came out of his mouth.
She sat quietly, she still didn't want to talk to him.
"I'm sorry he did that to you." He said, the softness still lingering.
"mad because you couldn't do it first?" Okay, maybe she did want to talk to him. She wanted to snap at him, yell at him, make his life hell the way he did to her.
Eddie flinched at the blow. Her words stung worse than the cuts on his knuckles.
"Mad that I ever did it in the first place. You never deserved any of that." He admitted. He was ashamed of himself. " I grew up with bullies and I became one. And the worst part is I bullied the most beautiful girl on the planet that has a fucking heart of gold. I adored how fragile you were and I destroyed you with my bare hands. And the reason is so stupid and selfish." He ranted out. Wayne would be so disappointed in what Eddie has become.
She felt like screaming at herself, hating the way her heart skipped a beat when he called her beautiful.
"what was the reason?" She asked, her voice quiet as she took in his apologetic gaze.
"I used to like this girl and I thought she liked me too. We dated for months and it turned out to be a prank with her friends. I was so hurt and angry at myself for being so stupid. I promised myself to never waste time on liking a girl in high school ever again. Then you and your bubbly personality walked in and I was scared. I liked you instantly and I needed myself to hate you. I was selfish. I tore you apart just to make it easier for me. It's not something I ever think deserves forgiveness. I know it's so fucked up to take out on you. You were just an innocent girl and I hate what I did to you."
She took in his words. The emotion in his eyes told her he meant all of it. But at the same time, he was right. She didn't deserve a single thing he did to her. She never once hurt him or put him in a position where he needed to protect himself.
"You never even gave me a chance, Eddie. Why couldn't you just ignore me? Seems like us never talking would have been better for both of us." She wished more than anything she never gave him her time. Let his opinions change the way she felt about herself.
"I wanted to, but in some twisted and toxic way, it made me feel special? I could treat you so poorly and you'd still come running up to me. And I know that is such an asshole thing to say. I wish I could take it all back. Treat you the way you always should have been treated. Given you a chance to show me you wouldn't hurt me. But I caused all of this damage and I know it's something I'll never fix. I'm sorry for everything." He apologized
" I appreciate the apology, but I don't forgive you for shit. You are an asshole, incredibly selfish, treated me like shit all because you were scared of a little crush? You're pathetic." Eddie winced at her words. "But, it shows you are flawed and human. Right now, I really don't want to be near you. Maybe in time I'll find it in me to forgive you, just not today."
He respected her honesty above anything.
"I understand. Thank you for letting me explain." He said with a small smile, turning around to walk out into the hallway.
Before he made it out of the doorway she spoke up, "why did you stop him?"
"No one gets to bully my girl but me." He said, a smirk on his face, throwing her a wink before he disappeared out the door.
God she hated him.
~~~
I could not figure out a real "happy" ending but to me, I like this ending so I'm sorry if you read this whole thing and was very disappointed in the ending :(

Bullies - Peter Parker x fem!reader
Pairing: Peter Parker x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None! Super fluffy <3
Word Count:
Description: Peter comforts reader after a hard day at school. It can be any Peter btw but I imagined it as Tom :)
Peter knew things at school weren’t good. They never had been. I had six weeks left before I graduated and we’d been counting down the days together, despite being at different schools. Peter was the smart scientific boy who I’d met at the library and I was the music obsessed girl who was brutally bullied for who I was. I’d been shoved up against a locker before my English class by Carson, the boy who was committed to ruining my life. I had banged my head badly and was sent to the nurse’s office after passing out in the lesson. My mom had been called and I was sent home. After watching a couple episodes of (your favorite tv show), there was a sharp knock at my window. Spider Boy. Peter. I stumbled out of bed to unlock and open the window so he could come inside.
“What are you doing in bed?” he asked, crawling in next to me. I rubbed my eyes, hoping the throbbing sensation would stop.
“I came home from school early. Had a headache,” I muttered. He knew full well I never got headaches, which was reflected by the conflicted look on his face.
“Tell me the truth y/n, why are you in bed at 3:00?” I tried to figure out a decent lie but had absolutely nothing. Maybe I’d fallen down some stairs, maybe I’d accidentally broken my nose in dodgeball. He wouldn’t believe that, he knew I never showed up to phys ed.
“Remember how I told you about Carson?”
“Oh so that’s why you currently have a black eye and a half,” he seethed. Well guess that answered the question of whether I looked as bad as I felt. “Are we going to talk about it?”
“I’d rather not,” I responded, cuddling closer to him. His arm was around my shoulders, body turned into mine.
“Did he hurt you?” Of course he hurt me. No one else would’ve done this to me.
“I just said I don’t want to talk about it,” I looked up into his glowing brown eyes, not able to tell if he was worried or raging.
“Fine, we don’t have to talk about it. But just know Spiderman is going to have a very stern conversation with Mr Carson,” Peter spoke with severe clarity, “he’s not going to hurt you again y/n.” I knew he meant what he had said. We sat there in silence while my computer continued to play (your favorite tv show). He watched the episode with me, occasionally asking questions so he could catch up. Once the episode ended I turned off my computer and put some music on.
“How was school today Pete?” I asked. School was much easier for him, his teachers actually cared, he had his friends MJ and Ned, and he didn’t need to study to get an A.
“Not too bad, we’re just getting ready for finals and prepping grad stuff, y’know,” he explained. I nodded, excited for the short period of time we had left before college.
“What time do you have to get home?” Aunt May always knew Peter was at my house, but she had standards, especially knowing Peter was Spiderman, and a high schooler.
“Like 10:30, we’ve got time,” he pressed a kiss to my temples and ran his fingers through my hair. I could feel the tension in the air, I wanted so desperately to cry over the day, over how much pain I was in.
“I’m going to hurt you y/n. I’m going to hurt you as much as I can. And once school is out I’m going to fucking kill you,” Carson had whispered into my ear as he pressed me into the lockers. I could still feel the padlock being pressed into my back. My eyes started to water and a few tears slipped onto Peter’s shirt.
“Hey, hey, are you okay?” He sat up and held me back so he could get a proper look at my face. I shook my head, letting the floodgates slip.
“H-he told me he was going to kill me Peter. I can’t go back there,” I sobbed. He pulled me in close, his forehead resting against mine.
“He won’t lay another hand on you ever again. I mean it y/n.” I could feel the tension in his body.
“You promise?” I cupped his jaw, my fingers resting behind his ear.
“I promise. I’ve got you.”

Crash!
Remus Lupin x Professor!Reader
Summary: You're the new History of Magic professor. (Gender neutral reader).
Word count: 882
A/N: This is completely self-indulgent. Let me know if there are any spelling errors, English is not my first language.
Not every first meeting was interesting. Truth to be told, most weren’t. And Remus Lupin has never considered himself to be an interesting person, either.Getting to know you, however, felt like crashing against a wall. Because that’s exactly what happened the first time he met you.
In his defense, he got distracted while being a true gentleman, showing you the way to your classroom.He understood first-hand the nerves that came with the first day as a professor, after all, it was only his second year teaching at Hogwarts.
When you approached him, a radiant smile on your lips and asking directions, he suddenly he remembered what Minerva mentioned on one of her letters she sent him. ‘The new History professor!’ he thought.
Remus had never imagined he’d seen the day when professor Binns decided to stop teaching, but it had happened, and in the middle of last year, too. Binns had died while sleeping in the staff room more than a hundred years before, and he was already old when that happened! But his ghost just showed up to the next class like nothing happened, and he didn’t intend to stop teaching for a long, long time.
So, when Minerva said they had finally found a substitute for him, Remus assumed they would be an alive version of old Binns, or even another boring ghost. It was more than a pleasant surprise when you showed up. Young, colorful and full of energy.
He thought he was doing a fantastic first impression. He introduced himself, not stuttering once, walking alongside you and giving you a brief tour. He was captivated by the fact that you were not from the UK. Are there no history professor in the country? He wondered. But he was definitely not complaining. You had a distinct accent, and a sparkling way of talking, as if you were vibrating with enthusiasm.
“It’ll do the students a great good, you know.” He smiled at you. “Learning a little history, I mean.”
“But... I thought there was another professor before me, that’s what i was told!” You looked at him, eyebrows slightly furrowed.
“Oh yes, yes. But you see, professor Binns was, uh...” He shook his hand slightly, gesturing ‘so-so’. “Old.”
You mouthed a little ‘oh’ and nodded, understanding that an old-school teacher could get a little boring to the kids.
After showing you around the great hall, the staff room, the main hallways, and spending a good few minutes trying to help you figure out the moving staircases, you were finally on the way to your classroom and office. You two were talking non-stop the whole time, and he was glad to find you were quite the chatterbox.
It had been a long time since Remus had the opportunity to meet someone new, a potential friend, and he felt full of energy for once.
That’s when it happened. He was already leaving your classroom, after he’d been assured a few times that yes, you would be fine to move in without help, and no, you didn’t need anything else, thanks. He kept walking forward, but looking back at you, saying that he’ll see you at dinner. He felt pretty confident he was directed straight to the open door, but when he looked straight ahead, his nose was directly met with the door frame. Missing the exit for a few good centimeters.
You had the good grace not to laugh at Remus when he squeaked at the impact, but in the haste of getting close to help him, you stumbled and almost crashed into him. That got a fantastic laugh out of you, and he started giggling almost immediately, still covering his nose with his hand, his embarrassment slowly subduing. You both had to take a moment to recover after that.
Trying to quit grinning, you approached him.
“Goodness, do you feel alright?”
“Yes, of course! Don’t you worry... See? It was just a little bump.” He uncovered his nose to show it to you, bloodless and seemingly normal. “I had worse, I promise.” And he smiled brilliantly.
‘Of course you did.’ You thought, admiring his smile and the scars that littered his face. Trying to appease the curiosity that you felt bubbling up inside you. You beamed at him. Realizing, at that same moment, that you truly wanted to know more about this man.
Remus finally left your classroom, he said goodbye one more time, assuring you that yes, his nose was completely fine, and no, he didn’t need any help, thanks. Then, he walked all the way to his own office smiling, forgetting about the pain almost without realizing it.
Oh, how long had it been since he felt like this?
You too, even occupied with unpacking and organizing, couldn’t help but giggle at the memories of the morning. Most of the nervousness you were feeling earlier was smoothed, and the only thing left in you was excitement. It was definitely a great start.
Even when your first meeting hadn’t been all that eventful (if not quite embarrassing), and while Remus still considered himself a boring person, he was sure none of you would would forget the first impression of each other. (He was also incredibly glad he had the whole year to get to know you.)

ranboo pov
I've always admired Y/n. I did then, and I still do.
Since I first saw her at the locker next to me in sophomore year, something just, clicked inside of me. At first, I originally saw her as a locker-hallway crush only, until classes got changed due to a teacher leaving. Suddenly, the hallway-locker crush turned into same-classes crush. For some odd reason, the teachers would also often pair us in the same partners and groups, and we would sit near or next to each other sometimes. I kind of just played it off as pure luck on my part.
I would see y/n in about 90% of my classes, but we were assigned permanent partners one day in English for the rest of the year. I got to talk way more to her in class, and we even hung out a few times. I eventually did get her number and we started to hang out more, but not just for study sessions. We eventually had a really strong friendship, but I still admired her.
Time skip, but one of my friends who was dating y/n's best friend told me that y/n actually liked me back, and she had for a while. At first I didn't believe him, until y/n texted me to meet up at the stargazing hill we always went to and told me she liked me.
After that, we started dating. I started my Twitch and YouTube around then, and started blowing up very quickly. Y/n was always there to support me and what I wanted to do, and I was eventually invited to the Dream SMP, which also quickly raised my following and reputation even more. When I got an invitation from Toby and Tommy to meet them in the UK, Y/n also came with me. She's always been at my side, streamer or not.
present day
"'Just Talking streams never end well'? Damn, you guys are mean!" I said, laughing and flipping off the camera.
I spinned my chair slightly to the left, focusing my eyes on the other monitor that showed StreamLabs and the chat. I scanned my eyes over the chat, and a few messages caught my eye.
user4531: hi everyone!
user78787877: y/n could do better tbh
ranboofan69: @user78787877 frrr she deserves more than ranboo
rainbow4eva: i love your shirt!
socoolfan: @ranboofan69 yeah i could get y/n SO EASY bro
I sighed loudly enough for the microphone to pick up. I looked back over to chat and saw moderators turn off chat to send a warning message and put it chat onto "emotes only" mode.
I laughed. "The fact some of you guys are so confident in stealing y/n from me is actually very funny." I stared into the webcam. "Y/n is my girl, nor does she even want any of you all."
Let's just say y/nboo and that clip was trending on Twitter for a little while.

“Grandmother!” Adam shouts dramatically, practically kicking her door open and striding inside. Abuela comes hobbling out of the kitchen, cane in hand and eyebrow raised.
“Who?” she says, hands on her hips.
Adam grins, walking over to kiss her loudly on the cheek. “Hi, Abuela.”
She clasps his hand in hers and squeezes it. “Better, mijo.” She heads towards to chairs on the porch, tugging him along. He keeps a hand on the curve of her elbow to help her down the stairs, guiding her to her rocking chair and curling up next to her.
The late summer air is sweet, a welcome relief from the staleness that permeates every room in the Garrison. He’s not sure if the sunlight feels soft because it really is or because he’s relieved it’s Friday, but he revels in it anyway. It gently warms his skin, and he closes his eyes and basks in it, aware of Abuela doing the same beside him, smile slight and wrinkles deep and beautiful.
“I was thinking of you.”
Adam opens his eyes, glancing over. The sun glints off Abuela’s glasses, half blinding him, but her grip on his hand tightens, callouses scraping familiarly across his knuckles.
“Yeah?”
She hums. “Always. Lots to worry about with you.”
Adam scowls. “There is not.”
She looks at him with an expression that is simultaneously deeply fond and deeply judgmental. “How many times have I picked you up from a principal’s office, Pomposo? Ten? Twenty?”
“Eleven,” Adam says huffily. Past him is a bozo. He should have simply suffered in silence. Besides — he was justified! Having a smart mouth is something teachers and bosses make up as tools of oppression. Calling his tenth grade English teacher a self-important fool was not having a smart mouth, it was a perfectly understandable response to a bullshit grade.
But then Abuela laughs and he forgets to be annoyed. She has a raspy laugh, left over from years of cigarettes before anyone knew they were harmful, and it has always fascinated him; distinctive and joyful.
“You take exactly after your mother.” she says, and Adam doesn’t doubt it. “Her sister, too.”
“And you?” Adam asks cheekily.
She flicks him in the forehead. “Down to the core of you,” she agrees.
They watch for a while as cars pass by on the quiet street, waving at bikers and cooing at dogs walking by with their owners. One particular dog is being pulled along by a young girl half his size, and her determination makes them both giggle.
“Have you talked to your cousin, lately?” Abuela asks as the little girl disappears down the corner.
Adam purses his lips thoughtfully. “No, was he asking for me?”
“Oh, no,” Abuela dismisses, still half-focused on the road. “He just loves you.”
Adam freezes.
Abuela looks over at him in concern. “Everything okay, tesoro?”
Adam thinks he is three seconds away from bursting into tears.
“Yeah, no, I’m fine,” he tries to assure. His voice wobbles. Abuela squints at him, half concerned and half suspicious, but eventually shrugs, letting it go.
As soon as she’s leaned back into her chair, Adam slide show phone out of his pocket with his free hand, tapping open a contact.
to: the boy
CHILD
Lance answers immediately
from: the boy
Yes?
Adam grins at the proper punctuation, the capital letter. Lance has just barely had a phone for a couple months — he doesn’t know how to text like a normal person yet. He once sent Adam a text with a semicolon. He laughed until he cried.
to: the boy
are u busy tomorrow
from: the boy
I don’t think so what’s up
Adam doesn’t actually know what’s up. He doesn’t have a plan. He just knows that he has to see his cousin immediately, basically. Squeeze his cheeks, perhaps. He’ll hate it by virtue of being thirteen, but something tells him he’ll tolerate it.
from: the boy
I have to do my homework now so my phone is forbidden
from: the boy
So text my mom instead of me
Adam snorts, dutifully pulling up Tía Marcela’s contact. She’ll be pleased. She’s very gung-ho about Lance doing things that aren’t video games all day.
to: tía marcela
hey tía!! is lance busy tonight?
The message is quickly marked as read. Adam sets it aside for a moment, knowing she’s probably rushing around to find her reading glasses that are almost one hundred percent resting on her head. After a few minutes, a message dings in.
from: tía marcela
Hey!
from: tía marcela
I don’t think so. He has some homework, but it’s math, so he’ll be done soon. Why?
Adam snickers. Nerd. He probably got excited about the homework. Last Christmas Adam got him a math workbook as a joke and he was unironically obsessed with it. It was adorable.
to: tía marcela
i’m gonna come pick him up when he’s done maybe
to: tía marcela
we’ll get ice cream and go for a drive
The typing bubbles flit across his screen for a few seconds. Adam watches them, humming to himself. They could go to that old place off highway seven, maybe. It has that pineapple flavour Lance likes like the little weirdo he is.
from: tía marcela
O.m.g. he would love that!
from: tía marcela
He’ll be done in an hour.
Adam sends one last confirmation text, then tucks his phone away, sighing happily.
“Making plans?” Abuela asks.
“Yep! Gonna take Lance for ice cream.”
Abuela beams. “Oh, he’ll love that! He was talking to his friend on the phone last time he was here, bragging about how his cool older cousin thinks he’s funny. He thinks you hung the moon and stars.”
Adam has absolutely zero control of what his eyes do in response to that.
“Why would you tell me that,” he asks, sniffling, blinking rapidly to try and cool the re-emerging tears.
Abuela smiles, leaning over to kiss his forehead. “I think you needed to hear it, amor.”
———
Adam turns down the music as he turns into the neighbourhood, conscious of the slowly setting sun. He rolls to a stop in front of the oldest brick house at the end of the block, door paint peeling in bright blue flecks, bicycles and skip ropes strewn about the lawn.
He lays on his horn. Immediately, like he was waiting, Lance’s face peeks out of the open window, grinning wide enough to show off his braces.
“Get in, loser, we’re going shopping!” he shouts.
Lance doesn’t waste a second, throwing open the door with enough force that it bangs into the wall.
“Bye, Mamá!” he shouts. He pauses. “Sorry about the door!”
Adam doesn’t hear Marcela’s response, but seconds later Lance is sprinting towards the car, backpack swinging madly, throwing open the door and practically diving into the seat. He puts his seatbelt on so enthusiastically he brains himself with it.
“Hey, Metalmouth,” Adam teases, not even attempting to hide his laughter.
Lance flaps his hands. “Hey!” he shouts, way too loud for a small car. Adam can’t bring himself to care, grin stretching across his face so widely it aches. He digs his phone out of his pocket and tosses it at his cousin, waving at Marcela who’s watching from the door and putting the car in gear.
“You may queue three songs,” he says, craning his neck to check his blind spots. “If you choose terrible songs I am revoking the privilege for eternity.”
Lance pouts, knowing exactly what incident Adam is referring to. “It wasn’t that bad.”
Adam cuts him a dry glance. “It was gorilla noises set to loud drums.”
“It was alternative!”
“You’re alternative, brat.”
Lance taps determinately at the phone. His dark eyes are narrowed in the same concentration Adam has seen him apply as he decides whether or not he can get away with deliberately infuriating his older siblings. Adam pokes him in the cheek because he can, and because he is simply so fun to bother. Lance bats him away.
“I picked songs from the movie you said I should watch,” Lance says eventually, turning off the phone and putting it on the dashboard. “I watched it yesterday. I liked it!”
“That’s because you’re as much of a dweeb as Gabriella,” Adam says sagely as Bop to the Top starts blaring. Lance sticks his tongue out at him.
They get to the ice cream shop pretty quickly, Adam poking and prodding at Lance every three seconds because he can and because gentle bullying is the best way to show affection. Lance doesn’t seem to mind, and amuses himself by kicking Adam’s ankles and stealing some of his ice cream.
He tries to offer Adam money for his scoop of ice cream, no doubt from the pokémon cards he trades. Adam, in response, traps him in a headlock and gives him a massive noogie.
“I don’t need your money, you goober! I am an adult! With a job! You are an infant child!”
“Blegh! Get off of me! Butthead!”
But he’s laughing when he finally wrenches himself away, sprinting back to the car.
Adam takes the long way back.
By the time he finally makes it back to Lance’s house, it’s well after dark, and Lance’s eyes started to drift shut somewhere between the soundtrack of Mamma Mia and Victorious. He blinks awake when the pull into his driveway, yawning into his elbow. Adam shuts off the car and walks around to his side to help him out. He’s half-asleep on the way up the steps, leaning heavily on Adam’s shoulder.
“I’m so gonna brag to Rachel,” he mumbles to himself.
Adam smiles softly. He vows to take Lance out more often, and especially when the school year starts back up in the fall. It’ll certainly help with the homesickness.
“You do that, kiddo,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “Love ya.”
Lance is too out of it to answer. But his hand, clenched rightly in the fabric of Adam’s jacket, speaks loudly enough.

Hiding the Truth, Pretending I'm Fine
Jeon Wonwoo x gn! reader
Genre: Hanahaki AU, college AU, fluff, usual angst that comes with the AU, happy ending!
Words: 4k and some change!
Warnings: vomiting, doctors, surgery mention(doesn't happen! don't worry<3), implied depression? reader feels down and i kinda wrote it in a way that it could be read as depression..., death mentions(one a joke at the start, and the other being apart of the whole AU thing..., cursing, my ocs Mai and Kimi(ok my friends oc...) use different pronouns, Mai(She/He) and Kimi(She/They), blood
Notes: sooo... if you've read this before you are either 1) a friend i had read this for school or 2) you are my old english teacher, in which, hi. why are you here. please leave. please. aka i am repurposing this for tumblr, because i am pretty proud of it, meaning please be gentle on me. i am just a tiny tiny child. but tell me what you think! tell me if i missed any warnings, and stuff like that! also, stole the title from bittersweet. you'll see why! enjoy<3
You had been in love with Jeon Wonwoo for who knows how long, but you hadn't known it. Until you started coughing. You wish it had been easier.
❀DAY 1, SUNDAY 8:30AM, YOUR APARTMENT
“Ooh my baby,” You cooed. “How's my little baby~ Hm? How are you Hoshi? What about you Byeol~~ Thank you for the gift~~”
Kimiko, your high school friend slash roommate, burst into your room. “Stop being a crazy cat person! Get up and out, Wonwoo is waiting for you,”
“Already? I just woke up–”
“Oh, no he's not here, here. He's just waiting for you like, in general y'know?”
“Die,”
“Not how you talk to your bestest friend in the world,” She pouted.
“That would be Wonwoo,”
“Bestest roommate in the world?”
“Mai.”
“Fuck youuuu,”
❀9:25AM, ROCKET CAFE
Sitting down, Wonwoo placed an iced latte in front of you. Every Sunday, the two of you met at either the library or the cafe to plan your week out together. This week was the cafe. He stared at you, watching you work.
“Stop watching me, creep,” you grinned, tapping your foot against Wonwoo. “C’mon, I know I’m pretty ‘n all but you really should stop staring at me,”
“So full of yourself,” He teased. “You’ve got something, here I’ll get it.”
You rolled your eyes at Wonwoo pretending to fix your hair. Always trying to “fix” something, your hair, your clothes. You knew you weren't a messy person. What you didn't know was why Wonwoo did it. Sighing, you just let him fiddle with your hair. As he did that, you stole his phone, unlocking it to check his calendar for the week.
“Boo,” you pouted. “We barely match up this month, outside of class. Look! We don’t match this week and next week we match once, on Friday night,”
Seemingly done with your hair, he checked your planner. “Oh, you’re right. Isn’t that during the get together Cheol is holding?”
“Oh I think it is,” you sulked. “No free time for just us! Oh I am in pain, jail for a thousand years!”
He chuckled. “It’s fine, we can sneak some time in,”
“Not at a Cheol party. I’m gonna be tipsy and you’re probably going to be on babysitting duty,”
“Babysitting you,”
Grumbling, you stood from the chair and fell onto Wonwoo's shoulders like a lump of nothing, smacking him a little. Vernon, your mutual friend who worked at the cafe, took a picture and sent it to their group chat without the two of you, followed by a text saying “yo right in front of my salad?”. The group chat exploded with messages with variants of “they’re seriously not dating?” and one text from Joshua, one of the other workers at the cafe, saying “get back to work!!”.
❀DAY 4, WEDNESDAY 12:30PM, ON THE WAY TO CLASS
This, you decided early on in your college days, was your favorite part of college. Walking with Wonwoo to whatever class you two shared, was great(unless the two of you didn't share a class, in which he would walk you to whatever class you had after the two of you had lunch).
You looked at him, seeing him staring at you, again. “Hey, what's with you looking at me so often, huh?” You raised a brow. “What, do you like me or something?”
He smiled, “Sure, something like that,”
Your face warmed, you could just feel the heat go to your ears.
You whipped your head away from him before saying. “Oh– oh just shut it! Don't even joke about that, Wonwoo!”
And then you started coughing, which granted, the weather had been getting colder, but you started coughing hard. Leaning down, you started coughing into your elbow before pulling away and seeing… petals? Bloody, purple flower petals. You quickly grabbed them before shoving them into your pocket.
Wonwoo put his hand on the small of your back, rubbing it. “Woah, hey, are you alright? Do you need water, anything? I’ll take you home if you need,”
You nodded, your throat still feeling a little raw. “Um… yeah, water would be nice, please,”
He handed you his water bottle, yours being at home. “Here, just drink from it. I’m fine without it for now,”
You sent him an appreciative look before downing the water. “Okay, I think I’ll be good for class now,”
He looked at you, obviously worried. “If you're sure… but I’m taking you home if you start coughing like that again,”
❀1:47, CLASS
You started coughing again.
There was no reason for it, you had just caught Wonwoo once again looking at you weirdly, causing your heart to flutter just a bit before you had berated yourself, thinking, Stop it, stop it! He doesn't like me…he just doesn't. And then the coughing happened again.
It had been so bad that the professor had stopped class and asked if you had needed to go. Wonwoo answered that question by grabbing your stuff and taking you out of the class. Oh well, you thought, Guess going to that class was for nothing.
Once you had finished coughing, you again found bloody petals. What the fuck…
“Hey, are you sure you're okay?” Wonwoo looked really worried now, placing a hand on your forehead, then cheeks. “You certainly don't seem okay, but you’re not warm or anything,”
You shook your head. “I think it might be the weather. You know I get a little iffy around this time of year,”
He hesitantly accepted your reason, knowing it was true, just usually happened later in the year. He shrugged his jacket off, placing it on your shoulders. “Well, keep this on until we reach your place, I don't want you actually getting sick,”
❀2:07PM, YOUR APARTMENT
Sitting on your bed, your eyebrows scrunched up before you sighed. Just, what was happening to you? Coughing up flowers– that's something out of a storybook, not real life.
Your heart fluttered when you thought about Wonwoo, but why. Why was your heart doing this, why, why, why. Wonwoo was so sweet to you, that's why, you reasoned. Right? You…didn't like him, did you? You couldn't.
You started coughing, again. Running to the bathroom, you knelt over the toilet.
❀2:34PM
Kimi sang. “Your favorite dancer is home~”
Kimi stepped into the kitchen, dropping her bag into the floor, before calling your name. “Hellooo?”
Silence filled the apartment, which left Kimi worried. Walking through the hallway, Kimi knocked on your bedroom door, opening it when no noise happened. Nothing.
“What the…” Kimi muttered. “Ugh, where’d I put my phone… dance practice you thot!”
Dragging herself back to the kitchen, she shuffled through their duffel bag. Calling your phone, rings came from the bathroom. Making her way to the bathroom, Kimi barged in. There you were, in all your shitty, sweaty glory was you, throwing up into the toilet.
“Fuck!” Kimi dropped to her knees, rubbing your back. “You should’ve told us you were sick. One of us would’ve stayed home for you,”
You whined. “Kimi… it’s fine both of you were busy, I couldn’t let you guys stay home. Besides, this happened during class.”
“The one you have with Wonwoo?”
Nodding, you straightened. “Mm… he brought me home,”
“What happened?”
“I… um… started coughing up flower petals…” You muttered.
“You what?”
Sighing, you reached your hand into your pockets and brought out the bloody flower petals.
“What the– Why are they bloody!?”
“I started coughing these up,” You started to explain. “Look, they’re in the toilet bowl too. I… I asked Sayu, before I went into the bathroom, she said they were bittersweet or something like that…”
“You should go to the ER! Or at least the doctor– you don’t know what this is,”
“I will, I will. I was going to call her after this whole…fit,”
❀DAY 6, FRIDAY 1:15PM, SEOUL DOCTOR
“So, what’s the reason for this appointment?” Doctor Kim asked, checking the files in hand.
“Um…so the other day, Wednesday, I uh… started coughing flower petals,” You explained, pulling the petals out. “They were um, bloody.”
Clicking her tongue, Doctor Kim examined a petal. “Oh dear…I see,”
“Why’d it happened? How’d it even get in my body?”
Doctor Kim sighed, pulling up an article on the computer in the room. “I’m afraid there’s not much research on this. I’ve never personally seen it but I know doctors who have diagnosed it. We’re calling it hanahaki, from the Japanese words 花 and 吐く, flower and to vomit. We’ve noticed that it’s from unrequited love,” she glanced at you and then the flower petals, “Do you…do you love someone? Do you believe they don’t love you back?”
You played with your hair, suddenly the floor looking interesting. “Um…I…I guess,”
“You guess?”
“I do. I…kinda just realized it and then spiraled for a little. On Wednesday, when I first coughed them up.”
“I see. I’m going to give you options and I will definitely push you towards a specific one. But I want you to know that it is entirely up to you, what you want to do,” sighing, she leaned onto her knees. “You could confess, and if your feelings get reciprocated the flowers will leave your body through a few days. If they don’t, then your lungs will grow with flowers faster and you’ll suffocate. If you do, come to the ER immediately.
“The last option is surgery, we remove the flowers and any roots in your lungs. But it’s a complicated surgery, and if successful you lose all memories of said person and you’ll never feel anything for them ever again. It’s a last resort for a reason, and if you even think they return your feelings, confess. I mean it, you need to confess.”
❀DAY 8, SUNDAY 11:37AM, YOUR ROOM
Laying on your bed, you pulled your blankets over your shoulders, tucking yourself in. Getting up seemed to take up so much more energy these days, it was so much effort, effort you couldn't seem to put in.
Your phone rang, and you left it. It stopped for a few seconds before ringing again. You sighed as it stopped again. It pinged a few times, two followed by one more before your phone silenced. You couldn't bring yourself to check, even though you knew it was Wonwoo, you set his notifications to have a special ringer. You were just… tired.
Nonu ❙
Hey, are you okay?
??? Hello??? You always answer, are you sick??
??? I’m coming over.
❀12:42PM
Wonwoo knocked on your door, before opening it. Seeing you still tucked into your bed confused him.
“I know I've asked this a couple times, but are you okay?” He sat on your bed, patting your leg. “Hello? Have you not woken up just yet?”
You hummed lightly. “No…I’m tired,”
He raised an eyebrow. “Do you want to be alone? You seem…well tired,”
You hummed again. He couldn't tell what you were feeling, facing away from him and barely saying anything.
“I’ll go, but I hope you feel better. I’ll get Mai and Kimi to take care of you,”
❀DAY 10, TUESDAY 11:23AM
Knocking on the door, Mai entered the room after a beat.
“You haven’t woken up yet?” She questioned, sitting on the bed. “You ok? I haven’t seen you wake up later than 9 since we were high schoolers,”
“Maiiii,” You whined. “I’m so TIRED, I can't even explain why!”
“The petals?”
“Of course, it's the– How do you know about them?”
He shrugged. “Kimi told me a little, sorry.”
“It's fine. I mean, you would've found out anyways,”
“Yeah, I would've. What happened, like why are they a thing? Kimi only mumbled something about petals and blood and purple– good color by the way,”
“I mean, the doctor said it's this stupid thing called hanahaki–”
“Like, hana as in 花, as in flower?”
“Uh, I think– STOP you're distracting me!” You jumped out from the covers.
“Yeah, but that got you out of bed. That was the goal~”
“You are the worst,”
Pulling you by the hands, Mai led you to the dining room.
“Our zombie lives!” cheered Kimi.
Flipping Kimi off, you pried yourself from Mai’s arms. “What was that for? I was gonna get out of bed eventually, it's only–”
“Only 11:23!” Kimi cut her off. “You are two hours late youngster!”
“To what?”
“To civilization! You have never–”
“Once woken up after 9, yes I am aware,”
“So you are aware we were worried, right?” Kimi huffed. “Now, eat! You are a growing child, no child of mine will starve!”
“I'm 20. We are the same age,”
“And,” Mai cut in. “I'm 21. I say you eat and get yourself freshened up. We are having a roommates day out,”
“What happened to my childhood friend,” you sulked.
“She has gone nowhere, I have always been your mother,” Mai chided. “Now eat, you actually look like a zombie,”
❀12:15PM, HALF MOON CAFE
“So, young child of mine,” Kimi started, placing the group’s order down. “Why have you been coughing up a storm, and why are there bloody flowers everywhere? You only mumbled something about them, and I want to know why!”
The three of them were in a small cafe they frequented often, mainly due to your part-time job there.
“Still can’t believe you guys got me here on my day off,” you sighed, playing with your drink. “It’s nothing. I already went to a doctor, she said it was ‘Hanahaki’ or something,”
“Hana as–”
“Yes hana as in 花, as in flower. Why did you both ask the same question?”
“I needed clarification,” Kimi shrugged. “But like, what’s the haki part? Like what even is hanahaki?”
“The haki is 吐く, like to vomit,”
“It’s a disease where flowers grow in your- in your lungs?!” Mai read from his phone, head whipping to you. “And you could die?”
“Not so loud– lord why did we go here,”
“I’m sorry– you’re upset I’m being loud? You could die, do not tell me to be quiet?”
You sighed, “Look, this is why I didn’t want to tell anyone! They get all dramatic, it’s not a big deal. It’s due to unrequited love, so all I have to do is unfall in love.”
“Uh, speaking as the person who’s in a committed relationship,” Kimi injected. “Impossibly hard. Like, I’m talking insanely hard. I mean–”
“We get it,” Mai said, cupping her face. “Look, it even took me a while to get over my first ex, and he stalked me! I’m with Kimi, there are easier ways to do this.”
“Except there’s not! It's either I unfall in love, confess, or get surgery! And, mind you, that surgery will remove all my memories of said person and remove all my feelings. It’s not like I can do that. I can’t lose someone I’m in love with– and I can’t lose my feelings! How am I supposed to live without being happy, or sad, or–”
“Then confess! They’ll reciprocate them, I’m sure.” Mai held your hands. “Please, I can’t lose you. We can’t lose you, you’re too important to us.”
“I am not confessing–”
“Confessing?” A voice cut in, Wonwoo. “Is that why you’ve been avoiding me?”
“Wonwoo! No, no! I haven’t been avoiding you, I’ve–”
“Been busy.” He rolled his eyes. “Look, if this was over some guy, you could've told me. I would've gotten it and backed off,”
You stood up. “It is not! Look, we went over schedules– we were both booked! You cannot say I have been ignoring you,”
“Does that mean you can’t answer my texts? Or calls?” He argued, walking away from you and out of the cafe.
“Oh don’t act like you don’t do the same to me. How come you’re acting like I’m doing it on purpose!” You followed.
“I haven’t ghosted you, never for days on end!”
“Oh sure,” You stopped and rolled your eyes. “I’m not arguing about this, not in public,”
“Oh so you’re running away, like always?” Wonwoo turnt around. “Like you always do when something happens, like the coward you are?”
Your eyes watered as you stumbled back like you were struck. “Fine! Yes, I’m running away, just like you said! Just like I always have, according to you, but don’t you dare try to come talk to me.”
❀DAY 13, FRIDAY 7:37PM, CHOI SEUNGCHEOL’S APARTMENT
You and Kimi walked into Seungcheol’s party, being eagerly greeted by Kim Mingyu.
He cheered both of your names. “Let me get you drinks, come in! I’m not allowed to help you with your coats, Cheol is worried about me breaking something again.”
Laughing, Kimi pat him on the arm. “It’s fine! I’m here to be sober, drunk watch and all that,”
“Mai forced her to be my babysitter,” You sulked. “Like I’m gonna get drunk off my ass or something…”
Mingyu and Kimi gave each other a knowing look. Like you hadn't been upset since the fight. Kimi pushed you further into the house, hearing the chatter of the others. Mai and Kimi figured it was best to get you to talk to someone, and what better way than to get her drunk with friends?
❀11:34PM
Bad idea. Mai and Kimi both forgot one important thing about a drunk you. You were an emotional drunk. Meaning, right now? You were sobbing your ass off, drunk, over Wonwoo.
Kimi could barely understand you because you were muffled by–
“Fuck,” Kimi muttered, launching herself towards you. “Spit them out, I fucking mean it you drunk fuck. Spit. Them. Out.”
You listened. Saliva and blood covered petals fell into Kimi’s hand. You fell into Kimi’s arms, still sobbing.
“He hates me Kimi! He does. He hasn't talked to me in 3 days! The longest we’ve gone is probably around a couple hours! Never this long,”
Kimi sighed, petting your hair. It pained them all to see her like this.
“He doesn't hate you, yknow,” Mingyu said, also patting you on the back. “He’s just upset right now. He’s probably also crying right now,”
“I don't want him crying over me!” You sobbed even harder.
Seungkwan hit Mingyu away, clicking his tongue. “Ignore him, Mingyu’s dumb. We know this. Wonwoo’s upset, but he’s not crying. He's probably thinking about what happened and trying to figure out how to apologize to you,”
“But he doesn't have to apologize, I was the one being a bitch!”
“All of you leave her alone,” Jeonghan swatted everyone besides Kimi. “Sweetheart, honey, drink this,”
He handed you a cup of water, urging you to drink. You tried to drink it, but instead a full flower came out of her mouth.
“FUCK,” Kimi shouted. “Fuck fuck- where’s their phone? Hurry one of you, give it to me!”
Kimi dialed your doctor, explaining that you had actually coughed up a flower. “C’mon hun, c’mon. Get up, we have to visit someone,”
“What's happening?” Mingyu questioned. “Kimi– what was that? Why did a flower come out of their mouth? Kimi?”
“Don't, don't worry. Just call Mai for me, tell her we're at the hospital. She’ll know why,” Kimi explained. “Sorry to bring the mood down,”
“Don't be. Now go, go! It seems urgent,” Cheol pushed the two of you out of the apartment.
❀11:48PM, SEOUL HOSPITAL
Your doctor sighed, closing the door behind her and facing Kimi and Mai. “I’m to assume you two are their roommates, meaning they told one of you at least a little?”
“Uhm, yeah,” Kimi fidgeted. “She told me a little, just like, uh she was coughing flowers cuz of something called hanahaki? Uhm.. and that it was a disease caused by–”
“Unrequited love, yes. However, that’s not something we’re entirely sure about,”
“What do you mean, not entirely sure about? Did you tell her something incorrect about a disease that could kill her!?” Mai shouted.
“Yes and no,” Doctor Kim sighed. “Look, ladies, hanahaki is rare– we’re not sure about everything. But, there's a theory, that I have personally searched into, that it’s not unrequited love. More like, insecurity in the afflicted. The flowers, do you know what they are and what they mean?”
“Oh! Uhm, I think I remember our friend saying they were bittersweet? And that they meant truth? Truthfulness?”
“Then, there. They likely need to tell the truth, if the theory holds up. Either way though, one of you should get whoever they’re crushing, or in love with, here as soon as you can. I will make an exception for you three, and only you three, to be here after hours if they have not gained consciousness. The other should stay with them. I don't want any surprises,”
❀11:57PM
“Where are they!?” Wonwoo bursted into the hospital lobby.
Ignoring the onlooking staff, he went straight towards Mai.
“Mai, you cannot call me, say my best friend is in the hospital, and then not give me context,” he said, holding the dead tired girl by the shoulders.
“You hung up on me right after I said they were here! I’m not calling you back and getting you into an accident– we do not need that! Now, come. I'll bring you to them, your job is to get them to actually tell you the truth. I don't care what it takes, they have to.”
Leading the barely taller man, Mai opened the door to your hospital room. Pulling Kimi out, Mai quickly pat you on the head with a quiet, “Confess,”
“Wonu?” You croaked.
“Hey,” He sat on the edge of her bed. “What happened? Why are you here– why have you been avoiding me? I thought we told each other everything,”
He looks heartbroken, you thought, heart clenching at it. “It- it wasn't your fault, Wonu. I just- if I told you, I’d lose you. I can’t do that,”
“But you're here, in a hospital. Mai said you could die. Why do you think I can live without you?”
“I-”
“Please. You’re my best friend, I can’t lose you,”
Bursting into tears, you sobbed. “Exactly! I’m your best friend, that's all I’ll ever be! Wonwoo, have you ever thought I wanted to be more than friends with you?”
“Wh–”
“It’s you, it has always been you! I just had a shitty way of finding out, and now I’m dying! I don't want to die. I want to live out my life with you, and Mai, and Kimi, and and just– everyone! But if I get the surgery I lose my best friend– the love of my life! It's either I lose you by confessing, or I lose you by forgetting you, or I lose everyone by dying! I don't want this–”
“Hey, hey,” Wonwoo wiped the tears from your face. “Who said you’d ever lose me? Remember, I will always be here for you. Always. Besides, I’ve loved you ‘since forever’. You have nothing to fear,”
Your eyes overflowed with tears, and your mouth, flowers. Calling a doctor, Wonwoo was quickly kicked from the room. Worried, he quickly walked to the lobby.
“Wonwoo!” Kimi exclaimed, bouncing anxiously towards him. “Where- where are they? Why are you out here?”
“Well, I got kicked out. We confessed but then they started coughing again and–”
“You finally confessed? Like, for real none of that ‘I love you, as a friend’ bullshit?”
“Yes– why is that what you're focusing on? They started coughing flowers again, Kimi,”
“I know, I know, but I’ve been waiting for this since I met you two. That was our first year of high school!”
“Stop fighting you two,” Mai butt in. “What happened? Why are you out here?”
❀DAY 14, SATURDAY 12:21AM
After explaining everything, the three of them went to hunt Doctor Kim down. Meaning, they were waiting outside of your room.
Walking out of your room, Doctor Kim turnt around and jumped. “Oh, you three scared me. Sorry, sorry. I should’ve told you to go home. But, they're fine. They’re resting now, you can visit when the hospital opens up again and you can see them then,”
“We can’t leave her!” Kimi whisper shouted, still aware of the fact that you were likely sleeping.
“No, you can’t but you will. I understand you’re scared about them, but they’ll be fine. They’ll have to stay here for another few days, but it’s just so we can monitor them. You can visit, but only during visiting hours. Now shoo, you are college students here on a Saturday,”
❀1:19PM, YOUR HOSPITAL ROOM
Wonwoo walked into the room, with a bouquet of aster flowers. Chuckling Wonwoo put them on the bedside table.
“Sorry, I know it’s a little soon,” Wonwoo sat. “but I asked your friend, um, Sayu? She said you thought they were pretty, the flowers, that is. Aster, she called them.”
You laughed softly. “It’s ok Wonu, they’re lovely. I love them, thank you,”
He smiled. “I’m glad. I know we only just established everything but I want to ask, can I be your boyfriend?”
You laughed, and Wonwoo pouted at that. “Sorry, sorry I’m not laughing at you. Never at you. Yes, of course you can be my boyfriend. Why’d I ever say no, I don’t know.”

contestshipping dutch dub rambling
i am a very proud dutch person (not really). and since pokemon doesn't only exist in english, it means it exists in dutch, too. i've watched the entirety of the pokemon series in the dutch dub (aside from journeys, could not bother to watch it) and i have gotten terribly attached to it.
seeing i am a huge contestshipping fanatic, let me spoil you with some funny rambling, facts and that stuff from the dutch dub (from my knowledge). pokemon tv has officially been dropped since march, so i cant really rewatch anything.
(poor) translations in the dub:
in ''pros and con artists'' the english dub drew says it's sweet that may remembers her, but in the dutch dub he quite literally says ''how cute/adorable that you remember my name!'' though it is way much more fun poking. though i am gonna pretend it is differently.
instead of pronouncing drew correctly, several characters tend to say ''droo'' instead of ''drew''. this is because dutch people can't properly pronounce SHIT.
in ''come what may!'' when may asks drew if the given rose is for beautifly, instead of saying ''something like that'', he says ''lets leave it at that''
in ''deceit and assist'' the translations are once again terrible, as in the scene where harley brainwashes may into thinking only using assist would be wise, drew says ''showing one movement'' in dutch instead of ''showing one move'' (as in moves that pokemon learn) in this episode brock also calls beautifly “butterfly”
in ''win, lose, or drew'' instead of may saying ''what a creep.. and you dress weird!'' may is straight to the point and says ''what a mistake (as in he's one).. AND YOU LOOK TERRIBLE!!!!'' harley instead of just saying ''you fell for it hookline and sinker'', he quite literally says, translated literally, ''and you fell for it with wide open eyes, dumb/ugly thing!''
in spontaneous combusken, when may asks drew how many ribbons he has, instead of saying ''what counts,'' he quite literally says ''no idea''.
also in spontaneous combusken, when may assumes drew had sent the letter, drew in the english dub responds ''except that's not mine'' but in the dutch dub he just goes ''that's fun anf all, but it's not mine''
when may and solidad talk about drew, and that they talk about other people's performances, solidad states (in the dutch dub) that when ''they talked about 'negative/foolish' performances, he started talking about her'' ouch.
fun voice actor facts:
harley's dutch voice actor (tony neef) is actually gay.
harley's dutch voice actor also plays professor oak and the pokedex for a short while during the AG series.
harley's dutch voice actor is also an (musical) actor, singer AND songwriter
may's dutch voice actor, nicoline van doorn, is also a singer, but also a sing teacher, apparently.
may's dutch voice actor also plays some beloved characters such as korina in pokemon, amy in sonic boom, and princess cadence in my little pony!!
drew's first and original voice actor, sander van der poel, also voiced goh in the pokemon journey series. I know I said I didn't watch it, but that doesn't mean I've seen NOTHING. he also voiced ira in the precure doki doki dutch dub... he was replaced though after two episodes. dont know why.
drew's second dutch voice actor (who was replaced in advanced challenge), huub dikstaal, is a voice actor, dialogue director and also a translator.
drew's dutch voice actor, huub dikstaal, has also played characters like woody in toystory, aaron (elite 4 from dp), molayne, master gi beon (horizons) and so many background characters i could hear him scream in the dutch dub of precure doki doki.
not so much of a fact, more of a flex, but i actually indirectly know drew's dutch va, huub dikstaal XD one of my supervisors at school (i am kind of incapable of going to school normally at the moment) told me her husband works with voice actors n such. and when I asked her if he'd worked with drew's va before, she immediately was like ''i think, yeah!'' n confirmed it later. so he's a friend of a friend of a friend to me, basically!
i know absolutely nothing about solidad's dutch voice actor beside the fact she played, well, solidad, and hunter J(ay) from dp i have NO CLUE how to spell her name. and a background character in mlp, too. the only other funny thing i'm able to tell is that she voice overed a dutch furniture ad.. or something..
some unnecessary doodles + headcanons.. n.. whatever...
down here some silly doodles of my favorite harley's dutch voice actor quotes/answers he'd given through a stressing interview while he's pacing around the place.
in case you cant read it in the images:
''who can't you be without?'' ''my husband''
''the club or tinder?'' ''what or tinder? oh, i'd say the club''
''wait guys im going the wrong way we need to go the other way''
''what would you do if you were a girl for one day?'' ''well, i'd dress myself up to look amazing. and flirt with men... wait what was the question?''
''sing the first thing that comes up'' ''in the canaaaals of amsterdam....~♪♪♪ what are these questions? this sucks!''
''your best date?'' ''he was soooo sweet.... i dont remember his name, though. dont think he ever mentioned.''
''should we leave?'' ''yeah, big fat buh-bye!''
*the interviewer tries to leave but sir starts chasing you with a fire lighter canon thing*
whatever.. this is. i am may and drew’s basically every single 10-18 dutch year old guy teenager.
thank you for listening to this dumbass rambling! sorry i have no funny doodles of drew may and solidad their dutch voice actors didn’t have much videos of them online 💔

Mending a Family 24/?
Prev | Next
I'm not too proud of this chapter. It feels a bit disjointed, but I needed certain things to happen to progress the story a bit. Sorry if it's not my usual standard of writing. Let me know what you think
Dick was with his siblings. They were playing with Mar’i. Soon, she would start school, and he was terrified of letting her go alone.
She was his baby; she was too young.
Tim came up to him, holding a cup of coffee. Dick frowned at his younger brother. Tim had the audacity to smirk and take a sip. His bags were prominent. The brothers stood next to each other in silence for a while. Dick watched as his little girl floated in the air and her aunts and uncles chased her.
“I found some footage of Jason close to the Canadian border.”
Dick straightened. He knew his younger brother was alive thanks to the present he had sent Alfred.
“He had a kid with him.”
Dick turned toward Tim, surprised.
“What,” he asked.
“Yeah, the kid was four or five, maybe six, but I doubt it. Barbara and I found the footage a while ago, but I didn’t know how to bring it up. I haven’t found any more traces of them, but I think Jason crossed the border.”
Dick turned to Mar’i. Did she have a cousin?
Why was he feeling betrayed when he had kept Mar’i away from Jason?
“Give me a moment,” Dick said, walking away from Tim. He took out a phone and called Roy. He was surprised the man had picked up.
“What do you want, Grayson?”
“Does Jason have a kid,” he asked without preamble. He wanted to catch the other man off guard. A surprised person was most likely to tell the truth.
“I have no idea what you mean, Grayson.”
“Listen, if Jason has a kid with him, we deserve to know.”
“You don’t deserve to know shit about Jason. You guys abandoned him. How about you leave the man alone, and you and your whole family get therapy? I hear Dinah has some openings.”
Roy hung up, and Dick still hadn’t gotten his answer. How was Bruce going to take this? Should they even tell him without more evidence? What if Jason had a kid and left because he didn’t want the family around his child?
Mar’i’s laughter seemed to haunt him.
____
Danny pouted as Jason took pictures of him. He looked so cute with his little backbag.
“Daddy, are you done yet,” Danny whined.
“Almost, kiddo, just one more picture, please?”
It wasn’t fair for daddies to have puppy eyes.
It was Danny’s first day at school, and his dad was going overboard with the first-day pictures. Jazz couldn’t help but smile.
“We’re gonna be late,” Danny said. He didn’t care about being on time but wanted the torture to stop.
His dad had enrolled him in a school for gifted children. He would be taught in French and English. Danny knew he would hate it. Well, he would only have to deal with it for one semester, and then he could bow out of preschool.
Daddy drove him to school.
He suddenly felt nervous when he saw the building and all the kids entering.
“It’ll be fine, chum,” Jason told his son. He felt his little boy’s anxiety. “Do you want me to walk you to your classroom?”
Danny nodded. He took his daddy’s hand, and they walked into the building. Jason introduced himself to the teacher. She seemed nice.
“Okay, kiddo, you’re gonna be brave, right?”
Danny nodded. He had never been away from his dad. What if something bad happened?
“It’ll be fine, darling boy.”
His dad hugged him, “Now, go and have fun.”
Danny let go of his dad. He looked back one last time before entering the classroom. It was colorful. The five-year-old in him liked all the colors and toys. The sixteen-year-old in him cringed away from the noise. It was tough being two ages at once.
Danny sat by a girl with glasses and blonde hair.
“Bonjour, je m’appelle Sarah. Comment t’appelles-tu?”
“Sorry, I don’t speak French,” Danny said.
“Hi, I’m Sarah. What’s your name?”
“Danny,” he said. The girl smiled at him, showing that she had missing teeth. Oh, Ancients, were his teeth going to start falling out soon?
“Nice to meet you, Danny.”
Danny took a deep breath. If he would be here for the next few months, he might as well make a friend so he wouldn’t be lonely.
Danny smiled at the girl, “Nice to meet you, too.”
“Okay, class, let’s get to know each other,” the teacher suddenly said.
Danny sighed; it was going to be a long day.
____
Jason sighed.
It was going to be a long day. He didn’t know how dependent he had gotten on taking care of Danny.
Now that his little boy was gone, he didn’t know what to do with himself. He went back home and spent the day with Ellie.
He kept the phone close in case the school called.
He never imagined how long the day would be without Danny around. Is this what every parent had to deal with when their child went to school?
He knew school was good for Danny. It would help entertain him, and it would be easier to make friends. But, God, he was missing his little boy!
Ellie giggled at him as she threw her baby food on his face.
“Now, Ellie, we don’t waste food.”
The little girl gave a toothy grin. Jason couldn’t help but smile back.
“Maybe you should go out on a walk,” Jazz came and said suddenly.
“What, why?” He got another spoonful of baby food, and Ellie gladly bit into it. Her little teeth left marks on the spoon.
“You need to learn to deal with Danny being away. Maybe find a hobby to do. You’re not going to feel better staying indoors.”
“I’m fine,” Jason said. Ellie had finished her food.
Jazz rolled her eyes and took Ellie with her. Great, now what should he do?
He went outside and sat on the porch. Suddenly, the phone rang.
Jason picked it up before the second ring sounded.
“Hello,” he said, feeling scared. What if something had happened to Danny?
“Hey, Jay, it’s me.”
Jason felt himself relax at Roy’s voice.
“Hey, Roy, how you been?”
“Good, good,” Roy’s voice trailed off.
“Is something wrong? Is Lian okay?”
“Yeah, Lian is good. How are the kids?”
“Great, Danny started his first day of school today.”
“Oh, ouch, I remember Lian’s first day in preschool. It was tough.”
“I have a feeling you called for something,” Jason said after a moment of silence.
“Dick called me earlier,” Jason tensed again, “He asked me if you had a kid. I didn’t tell him anything.”
Jason sucked in a breath. Dick knew, which meant that Bruce would know soon. Would he have to move again? He didn’t want to lose his son!
Jazz came out with Ellie in her arms, frowning, “What’s wrong?”
“Do they know where I’m at?”
“From what I can tell, no. Look, I don’t think you should worry, but I had to tell you they knew about Danny.”
“Yeah, thanks, Roy. You’re a real one.”
“Take care, Jay. I’ll keep my ears to the ground.”
“What’s wrong,” Jazz asked. She sat by Jason; even Ellie looked concerned.
“My old family knows about Danny. What if they come and take him away from me?”
Jazz put her hand on Jason’s, “Hey, look at me. Neither Danny nor I will allow anyone to break up this little family. Besides, Raven has shielded us with spells; they won’t find us. And if they do, we’ll kick their butts.”
“Thanks, Jazz.”
They sat in silence, each contemplating the future.

can you do an mean girl reader with principal!Yeji g!p, reader keep testing the authority of everyone and being an reckless in general, reader love to wear revealing clothes and keep coming to school with less and less clothes so Yeji fuck her raw on her desk office
So English isn’t my first language, it’s a little bit messy I hope you’ll understand.
hope you like it i had much fun writing this one ^^
its the third time this week you've been sent to the principal's office and yeji was starting to leave her door unlocked so she didn't have to leave her desk and open it for you, blowing bubble gum you walk in with your crop top and mini skirt waiting to get this over with
"you don’t turn in homework, skip lunch lines, are loud in the cafeteria, sleep in class and binge shows, are you in school or stuck in some teen coming of the age movie? not to mention your…'lack of clothing' when you attend" rolling your eyes you lay back in your chair and sigh, "please-please i’m at my last straw one more visit and there will be consequences, be a good student for once in your life will you?"
"it won't happen again ma'am…"
"what did i say?!" the next day you're seated in front of her desk with a fishnet top wearing no bra and booty shorts, "you dropped coffee on everyone's exams right before your teacher goes to grade them- and you post it on insta???"
"and the problem is…?" getting up yeji closes the door and turns the lock. sitting back down she pinches her the bridge of her nose in exasperation
"i guess i have no choice but to teach you a lesson, especially when you're dressed like that. lucky for you i anticipated this so i already cancelled all of my meetings for today just for you. now just do me this one favor and tell me what this says." pointing at something on her desk you lean closer to get a better look while she opens a drawer and pulls out a pair of handcuffs, attaching your wrist to a drawer handle yeji walks around and unbuckles her pants, hearing them fall to the floor you try to turn around and say something but are stopped by your shorts also being pulled down, without warning you feel something hard enter your hole and starts pounding inside you, "you were really that desperate for attention, weren't you slut?"
"b-but-AHHHH!!!" spanking your pussy yeji glares at you
"bad girl. you need to keep it down or else i'll turn on the intercom and let everyone hear what a whore you are for my cock." biting your lips you nod and let her continue
"only good girls get rewarded, you've been testing mommy’s patience and that hurts mommy, i have no choice but to make sure you learn your lesson. i'll keep thrusting into your tight little hole until you’re in tears."
and that's exactly what she does for a solid hour yeji edges you against her desk making usre that the only words coming out of your mouth were promises of being a good girl and never making another mistake while you were in school, mkaing sure you were telling the truth yeji makes you swear to it and when you do she finally gives you what you want and you cum all over her desk.
releasing your hand and pulling out yeji kisses your wrist and sits you on her lap with the intention of cuddling you with her jacket wrapped around your shivering body as she soothes you with praise for the rest of the day
much to the surprise of everyone around you the mean girl with the rags on her body suddenly becomes the poster student with…longer rags on her body, you make it to one full month of good behavior when yeji calls you into her office, a stern look that makes you bow your head confused as to why you were there
"lock the door before you sit down please."
"yes ma'am" sitting behind her desk yeji waits until you've taken a seat before clearing her throat
"i suppose you wonder why you are here. well actually its because of your recent behavior…" standing up you notice something off about her lower body and gasp when she walks in front of her desk, yeji had no pants or panties on other than her dick wrapped around in a pretty white bow, "i thought you should get a special treat for behaving so good, now its your turn to punish me for breaking the rules~"

perhaps peter has an important interview for something like a college interview or something and perhaps reader had something to do before it so couldn’t go with him (for moral support) but then she rushes through her thing to get to him and surprises him like 5 min prior, gives him a good luck kiss when his name gets called and tells him to call her after. they celebrate that night (since it went well) with pizza, a movie and cuddles.
Interview - Tom!Peter Parker x Fem!Stark!Reader
Pairing: Tom!Peter Parker x Fem!Stark!Reader
Warnings: None! Super fluffy <3
Word Count: 1,001
Note: Reader isn't Stark's daughter she's Stark's niece
A/N: I hope you like this @urmykindofwoman !!
Peter and I were in our senior year, which came with all the busy days and rough nights of writing college application essays, getting final assessments to the teachers, and booking interviews. While Peter and I were dating, we definitely weren’t going down the same career path. I had my own after-school radio show, wanting to go into something arts and humanities-based, and Peter clearly wanted to do biology and biochemistry. He wanted to go to MIT; science and technology were his whole life—especially with his ‘internship’ with Tony, who had helped him get an interview.
“Y/N? Where’s my suit?” Peter asked, running around his bedroom frantically.
“It’s over there, Pete. Relax, and you’ll do fine. I’m sure Tony put in a good word for you anyway,” I smiled.
“And you’re sure you can’t come with me? I just—this interview is a big deal for me, and if I don’t get in, then I have no idea what I’m going to do,” he said as he folded the suit and put it into his backpack.
“You know I can’t. I’ve got the radio show in an hour, and I can’t miss that,” I sighed, getting up and grabbing my bag. Peter nodded, reluctantly accepting the situation. “But make sure to call me once it’s over and let me know how it goes, okay?” I pulled him in for a quick kiss.
“I love you,” he grinned.
“Ditto, spider boy.”
I walked to the radio station to meet Ned, who had been co-hosting with me for the last few years. We didn’t have any guests for this episode, and instead, we were talking about the latest Star Wars movie that had come out. The episode lasted for an hour and a half, and I sat there staring at the clock to see if I could leave and make it to support Peter before his interview.
“And that’s our show!” Ned smiled and played the last piece of music, finally turning off our mics. “Okay, you better hurry if you’re going to be on time to surprise Peter.” I nodded, grabbing my bag and rushing out of the studio. I ran down the street towards Peter’s house, where he was doing the interview online. Knocking on the door, I noticed it was only 10 minutes before the interview started.
“Y/N?! Oh my god, what are you doing here? What about the show and Ned and—”
“I ran here when we finished. You said you wanted me for support, so I’m here, Spidey,” I grinned. Peter returned the smile, picked me up, and spun us around.
“Okay, Pete, you need to get yourself ready. They’re going to call you any second now, and you’re gonna ace it!” I pressed my lips to his in a lighthearted kiss, my hand coming up to curl his hair in my fingers. He pulled away once his computer started ringing and closed the door to his bedroom.
I sat there scrolling through my phone, hearing the hum of Peter’s voice through the door when he responded to the questions. MJ had sent me a few text messages about our English report, so I took the time to respond. About an hour later, Peter finally opened the door and walked out. I stood up excitedly, walking over to him.
“How’d it go?” His face showed no emotion, and my mind raced through all the possibilities. I’d put him off his game by surprising him, hadn’t I? Peter was going to hate me, and Tony was going to be so disappointed in Peter. It was all my fault.
“They said it was a pleasure to meet me,” a small smile grew on his face, and he looked shell-shocked, completely unsure of how to act.
“Oh my god, Peter, yes!” I screamed, running into his arms. “We need to celebrate! I’ll call Tony and organize something. We are 100% having a pizza party with the others.”
“You’re too good for me, Y/N.” Peter pressed a kiss to my cheek as I pulled out my phone to call my uncle.
“Hi, Tony. Yes, Peter did well in his interview. I’m wondering if we can order pizza and invite the others for a movie to celebrate?” Peter placed kisses across my jaw and down my neck, smiling with each press of his lips.
“Okay, I’ll call them and make sure they’ll be there,” Tony responded.
“Tell him I say hi,” Peter mumbled.
“Peter says—”
“I can hear him, Y/N. Tell him to watch where he puts those hands. Be here by 6, okay?” Tony laughed before hanging up. Peter pulled away and looked up at me with a questioning expression.
“Stark Tower at 6.”
“God, I love you,” he grinned.
“I know you do,” I said, getting everything I needed for dinner.
“That was 100% a Star Wars reference, wasn’t it?” Peter pointed to his Empire Strikes Back poster, and I nodded, trying to suppress my laughter. Peter shot out a web to pull me close to him again.
“You’re a nerd, you know that, Parker?”
“As if you’re any worse; you’ve got that Stark blood in you. I can smell it with my spider-sense—”
“Your Peter tingle,” I interrupted. He let out a loud and annoyed sigh.
“And you’ve ruined the moment.”
“You ruined it yourself, spider boy.”

Renaissance | teacher!Cillian Murphy x fem!Reader - Part 6
Summary: you are an Art History student in your last year at university. Cillian is your teacher. A/N: in this story Cillian is about 20 years older than the reader. Everything happens in an alternative universe where he is not an actor or famous, he doesn't have a wife or kids like in real life. Also, English is not my first language, so sorry for any mistake! Part 5 - Cillian Murphy Masterlist - Part 7
Unlike most people, you liked Mondays. To you, it meant the beginning of a new week, a reset. But this Monday was different and so far, you hated every second of it.
After your kiss with Cillian last Friday, you decided not to go further that night so he drove you to your flat. Once there, you said goodbye with a bunch of tiny kisses and the promise to talk later but it never happened.
You had spent the weekend staring at your phone, waiting for a reply to the text you had sent him. It just said “Good morning!” and a flushed emoji but he never answered. So, considering his lack of response, you sent him an email with your project progress, to which he didn’t reply either.
And now, you had been sitting in the classroom for forty minutes while listening to him talk about Margaret of Austria’s portrait collection. Forty minutes in which he didn’t look at your direction at all, as if you were invisible.
You continued taking notes until the end of the lecture, breaking the paper sheet a couple times due to the pressure with which you were writing. When the other students had left the classroom, you walked to his desk to confront him.
“Good morning, Cillian.”
He didn’t take his eyes off the papers and books scattered around his desk when he answered you.
“Mr. Murphy is the proper way to address me, miss Y/L/N. Can I help you with something?”
You looked at him in disbelief.
“Well, I texted you and you never said anything back, I was worried,” you admitted. He just shrugged dismissively.
“There’s nothing to worry about. Do you need anything else?”
“Yes, Mr. Murphy,” you said bitterly, “I also sent you a few new pages of the project so you could review them and give me some feedback.”
Cillian sighed and leaned back in his chair.
“I looked over it, it’s okay but be careful with the paragraphs and the structure. If you need something else, my tutoring sessions are Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Thursdays at 18 p.m., you can find me at my office.” He looked at you briefly, before saying “Have a nice day, miss Y/L/N.”
You didn't know how to react to his sudden coldness so you frowned and left the classroom with the ghost of tears stinging your eyes.
The rest of the week went by the same way, with Cillian ignoring you and only addressing you to make a comment about your project. As far as you were concerned, you had no idea what could have caused that change in his attitude but it made you feel quite miserable, just to think of what could have been and wasn’t.
After a long morning of lectures you were finally free to go and have lunch. You and Olivia had met to eat at a Japanese restaurant near the university. Once seated at your table, you noticed that she was quieter than usual.
“So, how is everything going for you?” you asked. “Are you still seeing that guy, the artist?”
She frowned and shook her head. “No way. At least not after he painted my pussy on a 120 x 160 canvas and displayed it for everyone to see.”
“Well, I can tell you something, it was sold” you comforted her. “By the way, I thought you knew which part of you he was painting.”
Olivia groaned and hid her face in her arms.
“He never told me, said it was a surprise. His favourite part of me, you know” she added, rolling her big eyes. “But let’s talk about something else, what about you? You look sad.”
You shrugged. “It’s nothing, I’m a bit overwhelmed with my final project but…” You stopped talking when you saw a group of people sit a couple of tables away.
They were teachers, you realised since some of them had taught you in recent years, plus Cillian was among them. He also noticed your presence, you caught him looking at you but he immediately looked away. Olivia looked at you with half closed eyes and then she turned around to look at the teacher’s table. You grabbed her arm to make her stop.
“Don’t do that!”
“Why not?” she asked suspiciously while you tried to hide the fact that you were starting to blush.
“That’s my final project tutor” you whispered. “Don’t look!”
Olivia made a face of annoyance at you. “If I can’t look, how am I supposed to know which one is your tutor? I’ll just take a little look, they won’t notice, I promise Y/N”, she assured.
You nodded slightly, accepting the fact that they would notice anyway. “Okay. It’s the guy with blue eyes.”
After a failed, as expected, attempt to be subtle, Olivia focused again on you leaning on the table so that nobody else but you could hear her. “He’s handsome but he looks like he’s sucking on a lemon.”
You couldn't help but burst out laughing, narrowly avoiding choking on your soda.
“Olivia!”
She giggled with you, satisfied with herself.
“At least I made you smile.”
The rest of the meal was uneventful, just you and Olivia catching up. It had been a long time since you had such a good time with your friend like this but sadly, it had to end. Otherwise, you wouldn’t get on time to work. Olivia led the way to the door, taking the opportunity to look closely at Cillian as she passed their table. You followed her, nodding in his direction as you walked past him.
“Y/N”
You turned around slowly. Cillian was about to get up from the table, some of the teachers looked at you with curiosity and others with recognition. You smiled at them politely.
“What is it, Mr. Murphy?”
“I need to talk to you”, he said. You wanted to slap him in the face, right on his stupidly perfect cheekbones. You felt your blood boiling with his audacity after ignoring you for a whole week
“I’m sure it can wait until Monday, or you can send me an email. It’s very simple but I guess it’s up to you. Goodbye Mr. Murphy, have a nice weekend everyone.”
Later, you were sitting at the art gallery office with your final project opened on your laptop. On calm days like that, you used to take the opportunity and study. Maureen and Laura didn’t care about it.
A knock on the door made you take your eyes away from the laptop screen. There was Maureen, with her blonde hair tied up in a messy bun while holding a plastic bag.
“Good afternoon, Y/N. How are you?”
“I’m fine, everything is quiet here. I was trying to write some more of my research but I think I’ll give up for today. What about you?”
She took a seat next to you and started searching for something in the bag while talking.
“Don't get saturated, sometimes it is better to let a few days pass and return to the project with more energy and inspiration.”
You nodded in agreement. Then, Maureen took out a small photo album and started flipping through all the pages.
“We want to make a video for the wedding with photos of us from when we were children and teenagers, you know, until we met. So yesterday I spent all day going through photo albums and came across this, I thought you might like to see it.”
She held a polaroid in front of you. Carefully, you took it and examined it in detail. In a handwriting that you recognised as Maureen’s, it said Summer ‘99. It wasn’t difficult to tell who they were since they looked the same, but younger.
“It’s you and Cillian” you stated.
“We took that picture the summer after we graduated from university, we were about your age there.”
“So, you and him know each other really well or just as former classmates?” you wondered, still looking at the polaroid. She sighed.
“We are very close, even though he likes to disappear from time to time.” She took out another picture and gave it to you, putting the other one back in the album. “You can keep that one, since you see Cill more than I do, you should have a chance to give it to him. It could bring back good memories, right?”
You stared at the polaroid and nodded absentminded. From the corner of your eyes you saw Maureen get up after hearing Laura call her from the gallery, she gave you a little squeeze in the shoulder before disappearing.
In the photograph was a young Cillian smiling from ear to ear, with messy hair and a sunburnt face, which surely would explain the amount of freckles he had now. Also, the way his eyes crinkled slightly at the corners was still the same, although more accentuated with the years.
Despite all that had happened, you couldn’t help but feel a certain nostalgia.
A sound coming from your laptop made you look, there was a new message from Cillian. He wanted to meet you in his office on Monday afternoon. Your answer was concise, just to let him know that you would be there.
Only then you were aware of the knot that had formed in your stomach. You were hoping for things to develop smoothly and go back to normal, as they were before that week. But just like it happened with your roommate Brad, deep inside you had the suspicion that what Cillian had to say wasn't good news.

I sent these quotes to another blog a while ago and thought it would be a good time to bring them back here. Because a lot of people say they don't understand how or why people like Joe and that we don't know him and only like the person Taylor painted in her songs. A big reason for this is that these people never really saw him as much more than a pawn and Taylor's boyfriend or tried to get to get to know him beyond that. You're not required to do that ofc, but once you make up lies to fit your story that's other thing. My point is these are just a few things people who actually interacted with Joe up close and personal have said about him. Mostly all different people, because everyone who works with him has something good to say about him. Even people who randomly meet him seem to get enrupted right away. So this is to show what people who know him (co-workers, directors, his school teachers) say as opposed to the shitty stuff swifties say without even being in the same room with this man for 5 minutes to make people believe he's some kind of monster. I would even say there's a few things being said that are not very common for people to compliment in a man.
"He's just so gentle and sincere. I felt very safe with him."
"Joe isn't nearly as reserved as Nick, but it's a tendency to let others have the floor. He just tends to be more interested in everyone else, what they're saying, which is a lovely quality"
"he's so sensitive and thoughtful"
"there's something very soulful about Joe as a person. He's very introspective. He's exceptionally kind, as a person. There’s just something gorgeous about him, as a person, and that goes into the acting. He can do uncertainty brilliantly and he can do vulnerability brilliantly."
"Joe’s instinct as an actor is always to push away from the obvious and into ambiguity. He’s very quietly spoken. He’s not brash at all. He’s a gentle, intelligent guy. "
"Joe is such a naturally kind and warm and welcoming human being,”
"I don’t think people will be surprised by just how much everyone loves Joe Alwyn, how much everyone fell in love with Joe Alwyn… he’s a true English gent. I completely owe my heart to Joe Alwyn.”
“Yeah Joe Alwyn does come in and steal the hearts of everyone around. He’s just like the most genuine, kind, present human. Funny too! Real funny.”
"I know Joe a little and like him an enormous amount. Such a phenomenal talent and wonderful human
"He has to be one of the nicest people I have ever met and I know it might sound like I'm saying it to ease everyone's mind, but no genuinely he was the sweetest and he was super worried about me all the time"
"I really liked acting with him. He's really a gentleman. A sweet guy. He's really focused and cares a lot about his work"
"Joe is tremendously warm and winning"
"There was just something very subtle about his reading. You could feel the tenderness inside of him. He just felt real."
"I'll say he is perhaps the top notch talent I ever witness in a reading. He was so directable, so talented, and ofc the look is gorgeous. Like a gift dropped from heaven"
"He has a disarming humility which appears both on and off screen. I spoke to Joe recently and found that the experience of starring in a Hollywood movie had not changed him at all. He will continue to be the person he is."
"Very cool impressive actor. After meeting him I had the opposite thought: Can she keep him?" (This came from a movie director who seems to be a Taylor fan, after meeting him once)
“He’s really nice. Really, really friendly, really good dude.”
When Joe first arrived at the school… “He brought a maturity and intelligence that was of immense benefit to the group. He also had a passion for the work and a conviction within his own artistry that was an inspiration to some of his younger colleagues.” By the time Joe was approaching his final year, he had become… “completely fearless.”
"A brilliant natural actor, especially gifted at quiet emotion"
"He's an absolute pleasure to work with. I became very close to him. I think everybody did"
“He can carry a movie on his shoulders—he has the height, the looks, obviously, the voice, the ability with accents; he is versatile,”
“Joe was gentle and he wasn’t overly pushy, because he knew I’m not good at mushy stuff,” she says. “Boys age differently, they’re f—ing idiots until they get older. But he’s a kind man with good manners.”
“When you’re speaking to him you feel like he’s only listening to you,”
“He’s got…the greatest head on his shoulders,”
‘That very first scene between the tree, he was worried the entire time like, “Are you OK? I don’t want to hurt you. Shall we do it like that? Is this easier for you?” The entire time trying to find out if I was OK, he was so sweet, so gentle, that I knew that I would be safe with him"
'He's very hardworking, very down to earth, very diligent and very gregarious. A very nice spirit to be around.
'Joe was always deeply committed to his craft. He was often very moved by the massiveness of his vocation. 'He saw acting as a necessity. He was serious about it, very committed. He was exceptional in that regard. He's a thoughtful man who cares beyond the frivolity of putting on a show. 'He sees performance as a powerful gift that he has, and that he hopes can change things for good.'We always hoped that this poetic soul would find a place for his vision.'
wow this was such a precious thing to read, he's really such a nice individual it makes my heart warm 🥺

omg hi could you maybe do a high-school au where you're failing English lit and Tolya is assigned as your tutor and you had no idea he was good at English and just mutual crushing vibes over poetry and maybe he's a jock and you go to his games to cheer him on and yeah...
the song could be Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince by Taylor Swift
Okay, look. Normally I don't do AU stuff, because, so many reasons, but I looked at this request and thought about it, and then I thought about it out loud and it sent me and bestie spiralling so fast into a whole Shadow and Bone High School AU concept, that I kind of, have to write this. I kind of have to, but it will have a lot (A LOT) of AU background info so hold on tight buddy. It may get to the point where you're asking yourself "what happened to the original plot of the movie," and to that I say... Idk.

"My expectations are low," Kaz says, tapping his cane against the table as he passes Zoya, a gentle taunt. Zoya purses her perfect lips and taps her pencil against the table, refusing to take the bait. "But they can always go lower, of course."
"You really think this is an argument you'll win, Brekker?" Zoya asks, turning in her seat to look at him. He smiles, eyes darting to make sure there is no teachers to oversee the devilish smirk, and clasps his spare hand over the one holding the cane.
"Never been in a fight I couldn't," he says. Zoya looks ready to explode. And you can understand why, Kaz never loses Debate, and she was just beginning to think she had the upper hand on him, but he had only wanted her to think that.
"I don't think we need to take this so seriously," says another classmate, "we aren't being supervised."
"I think taking things more seriously when unsupervised is essential to a thriving environment," Kaz is mocking Zoya and she knows it. She wants to do something, and if she let her heated nature get the better of her, she might. But she just folds her arms, and takes in a deep breath. As Head Girl she has to be composed, and as Captain of the cheer squad she has long learnt composure. When Zoya breathes it is like even the air is competing for her attention, she is that kind of beautiful. You glance at her and she has her eyes closed, calming herself. She shouldn't let Brekker get under her skin so easily, but Zoya takes everything very seriously, whereas Kaz gives the illusion of caring about school, all the teachers think he is a perfect student, and his grades suggest as much, but it is more of a game to Kaz. But that would go unnoticed by most, after all, no body tends to look too closely at a boy with a cane. But you don't doubt he is probably the most threatening of all of you. You'd heard a rumour once that he was running a blackmail scheme and that's why his grades were perfect without trying. But you knew Kaz was smarter than he cared to display, and you didn't want to put too much stock in rumours. School is so full of them after all.
You get up as the class empties, and you try not to pay close attention to the way Kaz hovers in the room, awaiting it's empty, you cannot tell if he is waiting for someone or waiting for the silence.
Zoya is headed for cheer practice and you are quick to step out of her way, it is best not to get under her feet at the best of times, yet again when she is fuelled with rage from an argument and especially when she is running late at the expense of losing said argument.
You step to the side to let most of the crowd pass, but as the corridors empty you feel yourself getting confused about where you were going. You catch a glimpse of your science partners leather messenger bag, and watercolour eyes and you nod to yourself, science, you're sure you've got a science next... but which one? Probably Chemistry, you'll settle for Chemistry.
"You're getting all turned around again," comes a voice from behind you. You turn and the familiar face of Inej Ghafa, is closer than you expected it to be. Inej is one of The Dregs like Kaz, you hated that name, but High School will be as High School will be and names like that sort of stuck. They called them The Dregs because they were scholarship students who couldn't afford to be in the school without the scholarship, 'Dregs Of Society' as a senior had not so politely explained to you one day when you were fresh in and dumb enough to ask. You nearly jump out of your skin, seeing here so close to you, without sensing her at all. She has a tendency to do that, so light on her feet, petite and so quiet. You have often wondered if the ability to walk unheard came first or if it was something she had learned from being a gymnast. If the acrobatics came naturally and the silence was learned, you're not sure which would be more impressive. Inej is simply a marvel, her scholarship is based on her gym skills and you would never doubt why, you've never seen someone able to preform with such confidence and prowess as her. But more than that, it's her heart you've noticed most, so quiet and yet so endlessly kind.
"Am I?" you ask her. She nods.
"You have English," she tells you, pointing towards the arts block.
"I have Chemistry," you say quickly but Inej shakes her head.
"No you had Chemistry last semester in this time slot on a Thursday," she corrects you, "now you have English."
You pause, but you realise she is right. You don't bother questioning how she knows that, one of the things you were quick to learn about Inej was she seemed to know everything about everyone, it came with the quietness you guessed, that she can hear and learn everything about everyone while no one even notices she's there. You wonder if that's what Kaz sees in keeping her so close, but then again based on the way the boy looks at her, you'd guess that was something else.
You turn to thank her but she has already disappeared from sight.
You're not late but you are cutting it close when you make your way to your seat. Nina, who you know relatively well from the short time you spent in the drama department last year, at her own coaxing, throws you a smile. "Pass this back to the pretty one?" she asks, handing you a note.
You glance over your shoulder and you don't need to ask who she means, you should have guessed. Matthias is looking even less eager to be in this class than you feel, but you don't blame him. For an exchange student Matthias doesn't seem to be thrilled to be here at all, most of the time, except when he is with Nina, which he is every moment he has the opportunity to be.
Every time you hear him speak it is to tell Nina that something she is doing is improper, and where he grew up that would've never been allowed, and yet every time you see him he is staring at her with a look in his eyes that could make you believe in love all on its own.
"Please?" Nina asks, fluttering those long beautiful eyelashes at you. You've never seen anyone say no to Nina Zenik, it might not be at all possible.
"Of course Nina," you tell her and hand the note back. Matthias frowns, and you can see the thoughts bubbling to the surface. He mumbles something about etiquette and respect for educators and then recognises Nina's handwriting and stops his grumbling.
"I think I am winning him over yet," she grins before turning back to the front of class. Nina was studying to be a nurse, but after a particularly rough semester switched carer plans and now intends to be a mortician, most of her bubbliness has come back to her, but it's clearest enough when she has the blonde in her eyeline, he truly brings out the best in her.
You find yourself tuning out most of the lesson, which you know you shouldn't, your Literature teacher is old enough that you feel like you should be able to get away with not paying attention, but you know she sees everything, and you're more than a little convinced everyone is afraid of her. So you're knocked sick immediately when Miss Morozova asks you to stay behind as the class is finishing up. You hope for a moment you might have misheard her, but her cold eyes on you is confirmation that you didn't.
She beckons you to the desk with a flick of her wrist and you approach, wondering what misstep you took, but she just slides your previous paper across the wood at you, and you see your mark and goose bumps spread through your skin. Fuck.
"You're going to fail," she tells you. She has never had a knack for encouragement or being gentle with her students.
"That is not what I had hoped," you admit. She laughs, it's a cold type of laugh, all apathy and disappointment.
"Not about hope child, it's about application and effort, I am not sure if you're missing the point or if you are not trying to see the point at all, either way you're not getting where you need to be," she shuffles a few papers, "so I have assigned you a tutor, hopefully that should fix your shortcomings, if not you will fail this class."
"A tutor?" you ask, the cold feeling just continues to spread through your body. Please not Zoya, please not Zoya. You don't doubt she is good at it, you've seen the turn around of Zoya's tutoring, but she intimidates you if you're honest and you don't think that is optimal for your learning. "Who?"
"Tolya Yul Bataar," she says, not bothering to look at you, "I have already informed him, the rest he will sort out, you're dismissed."
"Tolya?" you ask. You hadn't thought about it, you know he is in the advanced class, but you'd never given it much thought. Always seen the jock first, which isn't surprising, his education likes to focus on his sports, they treat his twin sister Tamar the same. Their skills making your school highest in competitive sports, it makes the school want to focus on their athletics. But you're a little annoyed at yourself for not even thinking about it.
You've thought about Tolya more than enough to have justified thinking about his academics. But the slight crush you've had on the athlete who stands taller than you can reason and with arms you're convinced could move mountains, you have had time to think about him.
You had lunch with his sister once, just the once. Tamar is nowhere near as tall as her brother, with short cropped hair which is a contrast to Tolya's own, but her strength is just like his, even for her size she is fierce and unrelenting. She looks like she could fuck you up, and you know she has the power behind her to back that up, and she would, and is willing to if the need arises. Her girlfriend Nadia had also been present at that lunch and you'd wanted to talk more than you had. Tamar was a type of brave you often wanted to be, unapologetic in her braveness, equal parts bark and bite.
You don't try asking anymore questions, you're pretty eager to get out the classroom that you walk straight into the corridor, not thinking to look around you, and are met by a leaning Tolya, who is rested up against the notice board beside the door. If normally he makes your heart skip a few beats, seeing him waiting for you nearly makes your heart stop. You tell yourself that's a fear response, but you know you're lying. "Tolya," you say breathing a little too heavily.
"I didn't take you for the flunking English type," he smiles at you, "but then again how well do you know a person?"
You smile, trying to not blush too deeply and give yourself entirely away. "I didn't know I was flunking," you admit.
"That isn't reassuring," he says, but he isn't criticizing you, you know criticism when you see it.
"It wasn't supposed to be."
"I am sure we can fix it up, I am... fond of prose."
You're supposed to be studying Remains by Simon Armitage, but even in his tutoring state, you can tell Tolya is finding the poem just as painful as you are. You don't want to be difficult, you don't mean to be, you're stressed about the fact you're going to flunk English Lit, and you know Tolya wants to help. But this poem is driving your attention elsewhere, and in an attempt to not stare at the large, pretty, tutor doing his best to go through themes with you, you let your eyes wander around the library.
Jesper Fahey, the lean theatre student with the true talent for dramatics in every aspect of his life, right down to the way he is dressed with bejewelled collar pins and matching cufflinks, is leaning over your chemistry partner, giving him that smile you recognise. Jesper has always been a flirt, and he never misses the mark, you've seen him flirt with nearly everyone around, but he only ever gives Wylan those eyes. You'd seen it first the day Wylan has suggested pyrotechnics for one of their next play, the same day Jesper tried to pitch Rocky Horror, they were a strange match, but perfectly matched in their strangeness. You especially liked Wylan, as your partner in the sciences you spent enough time with him to know that he is so smart, the kind of smart that makes your head spin, he could be a scholarship student, but he actually is a Legacy, not that you'd know it by looking at him, or talking to him. He doesn't really talk about his family, and you never pushed, knowing he runs the tech for the drama kids and can make homemade fireworks is a decent amount of know about a person.
"Am I boring you?" Tolya asks, his voice soft.
"No," you chuckle, "but I won't lie Simon Armitage is, maybe to death."
Tolya offers you a chuckle in response. "In honesty, I would like to say there is credit in all poetry, and I think there is, something for everyone, but I am inclined to agree this is no Keats," Tolya concedes.
"Or Wordsworth, or even Larkin," you add. He smiles.
"So you do like poetry?" he asks. You frown.
"Did I leave you with the impression I didn't?" you ask. He tilts his head, and he looks so unreasonably large in that blue library seat that you bite your tongue to not giggle at it.
"I had to read your previous paper to prep," he says, "you made it sound like poetry was the lowest form of art."
"I didn't mean for it to sound like that, maybe that poem," you joke, "but not all poetry."
"So, what poems do you like?" he asks, closing the book.
"What poems do you like, I didn't take you for the type," you give that preconception willingly, hoping to dismiss it quickly, and get his true interests locked into memory in a hope to know him better.
"All muscle and no appreciation for art?" he asks. You shrug.
"I never thought you were only muscle," you say, "you've got height too."
He laughs a little too loud for the library but you're too busy smiling to care. "I like classic poetry, epic prose," he admits.
"Iliad?" you ask. He grins.
"Yeah, Homer is up there," he nods, "also The Cantos."
"Oh is that... Ezra Pound?" you check, genuinely unsure if you're right but the gleam in his eyes tells you that you are before his words do.
You sit for a while, swapping favourites and preferences and you don't hear the sound of the bell ringing, calling you to classes, you just keep listening to Tolya reciting from memory and you think you could listen to that forever.
"I hate to pull you away," comes a voice anyone would recognise. You look up and the resident Lantsov, Nikolai with his puppy grin and sparkling eyes is looking at Tolya, "but you are very late."
Tolya glances at the time, as long in you as you were in him, and gets up a little too quickly. "I lost track of time," he admits.
"I can see that," Nikolai spares you a glance, and smiles back at his friend. Nikolai is charming, charming in all the ways a politician might be without half the deceit and double the bravado. Handsome in the way that he knows he is handsome and leans on it, but doesn't rely on it solely like people as pretty as he often do. But it works for him, and you understand where it comes from. Lantsov is a Legacy student, which gets him a lot of allowances, but his older brother got expelled a few years back and he has been under a lot of pressure to not fuck up like Vasily did. So he goes the extra mile, does the extra work, head boy, and boy scout all in one, just to fix what his brother broke. The new girl Alina is hovering not far behind, Nikolai took a liking to her immediately, she looks lost in this place, she got in on a scholarship for a sport she didn't play and has been trying to juggle everything ever since. But she mostly talks about missing home, she has a boy back at her old school, a boy her heart aches at the absence of. Usually that sort of thing is a lie, but the way she talks about him, you would never doubt, you're not sure of his name, you've heard it once or twice, Hal, Mal maybe, you don't let your mind linger on the thought.
"I have to go, but I promise to meet you here tomorrow?" Tolya asks you, bringing you back to the library and out of your mind.
"I'll be here," you say. You watch the three of them walk away, the twins have been close to Nikolai as long as you've known any of them, thick as thieves and twice as protective of one another. You can admire a friendship like that.
"And the final stanza, ending with that imagery," Tolya is trying so very hard to stay on topic, but you are tapping your fingers across a very old copy of Odyssey and he knows you're trying to pull his attention away, and you know it's working.
"or six-feet-under in desert sand, but near to the knuckle, here and now, his bloody life in my bloody hands," you recite. "I know Tolya, it is ingrained in my mind I promise you."
"If you fail the next essay you won't be stuck with me anymore, you'll be failed," Tolya reminds you.
"I am very aware of my predicament," you straighten up, "fail and well fail, or succeed and be told the tutoring is effective and I must continue to spend these hours with you."
The way you tease him makes him want to forget the studying all together and just keep you in his company for longer, without explanation or reason beyond just wanting you there.
"This is such torture for you, isn't it?" He asks, not meaning a word.
"Not in the slightest," you confess. "My favourite part of the day, and not just because you bring really good snacks."
"I do," he agrees reaching to take a biscuit from the centre of the table. "Are you coming to the game?"
The question strikes you as odd, you have spent weeks with Tolya and you've discussed art and music and poetry at length, but you've avoided talking sports, you thought because he had wanted not to talk about it, but with this question you wonder if maybe you've been negligent in not asking him about that aspect of his life. If you've come across as uninterested in the athletics and dismissive because of it, and that thought fills you with an uncomfortable nervousness.
"I hadn't been planning on," you say slowly, "should I?"
"It's going to be a good game," he says, "a competitive one." You nod, trying to seem more enthusiastic than you're sure how to be about sports. "It's an important game," he admits, "and I would... like to have you there, if you want to come?"
"Are you asking me to come watch your game?" you ask, twiddling your pencil between your fingers. He smiles.
"Yeah, I kind of am," he admits, "is that okay?"
"Yeah," the blush creeps up your neck but has the respect to stay away from your cheeks, weeks alongside Tolya you've had to train yourself to blush more subtly, "I'd like that."
Genya and Nina are both fussing over Zoya in preparation for the game, Genya because she wants to be beautician and it is helpful, Nina because it's her prerogative to get involved wherever she wants to. Seeing Genya and Zoya be so friendly with one another is still a little unnerving, due to a not so friendly rumour about Genya and a teacher Genya had been the subject of a lot of hate from the girls at school. Zoya was among them. But the last year has brought everyone a lot closer, and everyone has become a lot more understanding, and Zoya with the help of Alina went around getting Mr Kirigan fired for his unprofessional behaviour, that which they could prove anyway. Genya weathered the worst of it all, and she never seemed to shake.
"Genya if you do not stop fussing me," Zoya warns her, but it's coming from a softer place than her normal warning tone. Zoya holds a lot of guilt when it comes to Genya, about not defending her, about not believing her, about not protecting her from the rumours.
Even Zoya had her fair share of rumours, the real reason as to why she doesn't date, the way her eyes linger moments too long on a pretty girl in the hallway, but again, you didn't like to put too much stock into rumours.
Genya twirls one of her red tendrils around her hand, trying to keep them off Zoya's long dark hair which she has pulled up into a ponytail. "Can I at least-,"
"No," Zoya says sternly. "David, please come get your girlfriend."
David, the reed thin brunette who rarely understands half of what is going on around him, looks up from the book he is reading, something on geology and metallurgy, to look at Genya who gives him a sweet smile, and he gives her a little wave, not having heard exactly what Zoya said. David and Genya are high school sweethearts, the type that you're not even aware you are rooting for at first, but at some point you realise the happiness of their relationship is the thing you are basing your idea of true love on.
"You're coming tonight right?" Nina asks you, throwing you a look across the room, you hadn't realised she noticed you being there, between trying to keep Genya from trying to colour Zoya's hair and Zoya from trying to kill Genya with a look.
"To the game?" Genya turns her eyes to you and they're glistening with anticipation. "I didn't realise you found your school spirit."
"I was invited," you explain.
"Yeah, by a tree with the muscles of a Saint," Nina quips giving you a wink. "I don't think it's school spirit they've found."
"Tolya?" Genya asks, tone shifting up a pitch with her eagerness.
"Don't say it like that," you say. Genya leans up on her elbows, resting her pretty face over her crossed hands.
"Like what?" she asks.
"Like," you gesture to her in her entirety, "like that, like you think you know something I don't know."
"If your truly flunking Lit, I think we all know something you don't know," Zoya says, "now can we get this show on the road, I cannot and will not be late."
"Ignore her," Nina mouths, "she's just cranky because... well because she is Zoya."
The air is brisk but you don't feel cold as you walk towards the field, you see Brekker underneath the bleachers talking with someone you don't recognise, but you pretend not to see anything.
Wylan has his arms around Jesper's neck in the back of the stands, and he looks less lost and more found. Matthias and Nina are bickering by the food queue about how acceptable sweet toppings are on savoury foods and she is too wrapped up in her fun game of wind up Matthias to see your wave, but you don't mind.
Zoya has corralled the cheerleaders and they're all pretty ready, Alina is staring trying not to get roped into anything as one of the cheerleaders in blue tries to tell her how good cheer is for the spirit.
Nikolai is trying to convince Zoya of something but you're not sure what, but you are at least sure it isn't working.
You are brought out of your people watching by feeling a presence close to your side, you turn your head and Inej is walking in stride. "Tolya is looking for you," she says, and you expect her to disappear into nothing as quickly as she appears, but she doesn't. She is a girl after all, not a ghost.
"When does the game start?" you ask.
"You have time," she assures you. She points south and you follow that guidance, and you see Tamar leaning on the gate, she is talking with some of the other players, and she looks so at home. It would be hard to believe there was a time when Tamar had to argue her way onto the team, given how much she has to offer.
Tamar gets a warning for cursing with enthusiasm and you cannot help but chuckle. If the other team wants a fight, they will definitely find one with her. You're about to ask if someone has seen Tolya when you feel the shadow casting across your shoulder.
"I'll get them back," Tamar is insisting.
"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much," Tolya quotes, standing beside you. Tamar throws her brother an unamused look.
"Oscar Wilde," you say craning your neck up to look at Tolya. He looks different in his sporting kit, but his hair is still held back the same, and his arms are still exposed to the cold air, just not with rolled up sleeves this time. Looking at him makes you feel cold, and you want to ask him how he isn't.
"You're shivering," he points out.
"I am?" you ask, glancing down at your own body, "I hadn't expected it to be so cold."
"Here," Tolya reaches behind him into a bag and pulls out a jersey, it's for the team and is sporting his number on the back, he hands it to you with one hand. "So you're warm."
You take it slowly, mind racing with the many implications of such a small, kind gesture, and you don't want to jump the gun with this, with him. "Thank you," you manage, slipping the fabric over your shoulders. "I didn't even realise you had one of these."
"Everyone on the team has one," he says.
"No, a jacket," you tease, "you never wear one."
He shrugs. "I don't get cold," he explains, looking around to see how quickly he needs to make his way to the field.
"Then why did you carry it with you?" you ask. The jersey smells like Tolya, from being in his bag you'd guess, and you feel a weight in the side pocket, reaching in you find a small packet of dried mango. You let yourself smile at that.
"I've got to run," he says, "wish me luck?"
"Break a leg," you say, "or is that just something you say for theatre?"
"I'll take it," he says before joining the team.
You'd not given the sports of your school too much thought, but watching Tolya play you must admit you weren't giving the sport aspect much thought even now. You cheer for Tolya, not the game, you're watching Tolya, not the game. If anyone asked you what was happening you're not sure you'd be able to offer more than this name.
If you had any doubts about your schools victory they would have been quickly squashed by the victory cries from Tamar, all fervour and for more expletives than the coach is happy for there to be. She gets a whistle of a warning and a stern look which she just brushes off, letting her brother pull her into a hug.
You are leaning on the fence, which you hadn't noticed until now, with Tolya approaching you. The field is lower set than the stands but Tolya still feels very tall as he gets closer. You can understand why Nina described him as treelike. "Good game," you say. The warmth of his jersey on your skin feeling as secure as that embrace you watched him give Tamar, and it leaves you reaching out for him with eager thoughts and hesitant hands. You tuck them deep into your pockets- his pockets, trying not to give yourself away.
"Thank you," he says, the adrenaline in his smile is dizzying. "Thank you for coming by the way, it means a lot."
"Thank you for inviting me," you say. You want to say more, you want to find the words for this feeling, this gentle buzzing that is sparking between the two of you.
"Ask her you coward," Tamar calls from her place now sat next to Nadia, straddling the bench of a lower section of the bleachers, sharing a milkshake with her girlfriend.
Tolya laughs. "I made a bet with my sister, if we win I had to take that win, and take a risk," he says, and for someone so tall he looks so nervous. "And we won."
"You did," you nod, "quite well I think."
"Really well," he admits, laughter echoing in the spaces between the words.
"So what risk?" you ask, feeling yourself leaning onto your toes, needing to know, feeling your heart pounding in your chest.
"I was wondering if you'd like to see me, outside of school hours?" he asks.
"Like now?" you ask, trying to keep the smile at bay. He tilts his head in a nod.
"Yeah, like now, but maybe more... just us," he says. You feel like you might fall down but you can't help but tease him.
"For studying?" you ask. He can tell you're playing with him.
"No," he says, "not for studying."
"Are you trying to ask me on a date Tolya?"
"I am trying."
"I would like that, I would like that a lot."

🎶 brand new tattoos by SayWeCanFly
(AU) Eddie Munson x fem!reader
[a/n] I know I said I'd be finishing first love soon but it's been a tough couple months and I'm slowly getting back into writing again. I really hope that the inspiration will stick for me to finish it but thank you to anyone who's read and waiting for the next part. Here's a little songfic I put together since rejoining the internet again.
[warnings?] bad childhood, insecurities, rejection, abandonment, having children/being pregnant, hypothetical divorce?
other works available here!
I found silver in stone,
Inside, flowers of gold
Deep inside my soul
Like moths to a flame, the town fled to hear the new rumours that tarnished the Munson name, as greedy as they were they thrived off of the pain it caused, revealing in the destruction it would bring. Despite this, the Munson men carried on with their lives, stuck in a bubble of coldness that only the gentlest souls were prepared to see past.
For Eddie it felt like he was trapped between the identity of two people, neither portraying the real him. At school he played the outcast, the weirdo, the one that would never become anyone or anything in this world, just as his father and teachers told him growing up.
Meanwhile, at the hideout he became the stereotypical heart throb, nothing but a piece of meat to fuck and chuck as soon as the next groupie got bored. Typically the other way around, he’d become a notch on some randoms belt, the relationship so superficial you could wipe it clean with a makeup wipe.
But he wanted more. He knew he deserved more.
And I’ve walked miles from home
I’ve walked miles alone
But I’ve learned to love this winding road
When you first approached him, he’d been cautious, the prank of pretending to be his friend being played one too many times for his liking. It wasn’t until you’d mentioned that you were new to Hawkins, that he’d figured you probably didn’t know who he was yet. However, what he wasn’t expecting was for you to simply shrug him off and sit next to him despite his clear warnings.
You were new to Hawkins, that much was for sure. The first time he’d seen you was at the beginning of English, you’d smiled and waved across the classroom before turning towards the front and resuming your position in the worn out book you carried around. Assuming you meant to look at someone else he awkwardly looked to the side like a deer in the headlights, before putting his head between his cool hands to fight the warm heat rising to his cheeks, thoughts going a million miles an hour, somewhat ashamed that for a split second the believed you were looking at him.
She’s got brand new tattoos
And I’ve got holes in my shoes
She’s got a beautiful dress
And my suit’s been torn up to shreds
Months passed with the same routine of him feebly denying any attention you sent his way, coming up with an array of excuses for reasons why you weren’t interested in him. He wanted so badly to approach you, perhaps ask you on a date yet anytime he gained the confidence it was quickly snuffed out by the other students entering the room or passing him a snide comment.
He would never admit this to you, but you’d become the highlight of his day. Even the hellfire members had noticed his longing stares in the cafeteria, deciding not to tease him this once, enjoying seeing this new side to their usual stone faced DM.
Behind the scenes he had no clue there the sneaky Henderson boy was quietly scheming to push the two of you together. The idea of you both dancing around your obvious feelings but neither making a move driving him crazy.
She still dances with me
Though I step on her feet
She still
Wants to love me
Neither of you knew how it happed yet one fateful day you’d agreed to be his girlfriend, the memory forever ingrained in his mind reminding him of the reasons why you were the one for him.
‘Sweaty palms and wilting wildflowers he’d run towards you almost tripping over the curb. Your angelic smile enough to make him weak at the knees as you greeted him with a shy kiss and wide doe eyes. The two of you planned to celebrate graduation in private, apart from having each other, the warm summer breeze and quietness of the woods felt right.
You’d both danced around the idea of making your relationship official however, for Eddie he needed the affirmation. His biggest fear being that you would simply walk away, that everything the two of you had was a lie or means to an end. Logically he knew you would never do that to him but with nothing to offer you other than love, why would you want to stay In Hawkins with him?
Needless to say as the words slipped his mouth you’d agreed immediately and the rest was history.’
I’ve watched, angels grow weak
And I've heard the devil as he speaks
Whispers and screams
Sure there were ups and downs in the early stages of your relationship, fears and worries needing to work themselves out before settling down. For Eddie while loving another came easy, the desperation to give and receive meant being torn between letting you in or pushing you away. Ingrained into his DNA it would never be as simple as flipping a switch, the active reminder that he could possible lose you at any given moment being the motivating factor to battle his demons.
You on the other hand, fully supported his rockstar dream. Never wanting to make him choose between you and his vision. Yet as human as it was you grew scared that he’d realise he was way too good for you. When he could have anyone he could possibly dream of once leaving this town behind, why would he choose you? Why would he stay with you?
The beautiful thing about being human was making mistakes and learning and growing from them, as difficult as it was the both of you would make it out together, regardless of the hypothetical fallout.
But my arms are open so wide
And will be, until I die
Only for you
The day of your wedding was coincidentally the day you’d found out you were pregnant with your first child. Fear and excitement bundled into one where not only were the vows you spoke to each other, but also to your future family. With silent promises made and tears of happiness flowing you welcomed the next chapter of your lives with open arms and full hearts.
In Eddie fashion he’d almost cancelled the wedding, as you walked down the isle moments after telling him the big news he’d insisted you at the very least sat down for the rest of the ceremony, justifying the fact that you needed to save your energy and stay healthy for his own sanity because god forbid your feet ache after standing in heels all day.
He’d soon learn that if anyone needed to sit down it was probably him, the view of a baby being born from between the legs he knew so well, more than enough to knock him out cold.
At least he’d be prepared the next time.
She’s got brand new tattoos
And I’ve got holes in my shoes
She’s got a bright red rose
And I’ve got a head full of thorns
But I’d still pick them for you
Ten years later and your third child on the way he could finally say all the blood sweat and tears wasted in throughout his youth were worth it. There was no waiting for the ball to suddenly drop, no final wake up call or ultimatum, fighting for you and vice versa was more than worth it and he’d be an idiot to think otherwise.
The once lonely, broken child wondering where he fit into this world now meant something. Becoming the person he was now from the person he was before, wouldn’t have been possible if he’d been given the easy path to follow just like he once wished. The memories and hardships carved into his skin through wrinkles, scars and faded tattoos served as his reminder that even in the darkest days he would be just fine.
She still dances with me
Though I step on her feet
She still,
Wants to love me
