It's been more than 20 years and for some reason I feel that Gosho hasn't given Kaiao any development, how can more than 20 years pass and Aoko dynamics, relationship and feelings remain the same? At this point I feel like Gosho is just going to make them date because "they already liked each other" they remain in the same status quo

Hey, if we go by DC romance progress, they've been going too fast. We've already had suspicion of identity chapters, and that didn't happen until more than 400 chapters in DC. /j

Since heists have taken over any character development recently, I don't even know if Kaito and Aoko will even get any romantic progress. Maybe the actual identity confrontation will happen down the line, since that's thief drama, but atm, it really wouldn't surprise me if they only ask each other on a real date at the very end of the manga.

Like. I'm sure Gosho would love to make MK a love drama as well, but he writes MK so rarely, and usually as hype for something Kid related in other media. So the MK stories tend to be heavy on drama that can only take place at Kid heists. (To the point that the new chapters just. Use Kid as the plot device to show off a new character. Even Hakuba's never gotten so much 'look at this character being a detective' treatment in MK.)

-sighs- I just feel bad for MK as a series at this point. I like the characters, I like the general story idea, but. It's been going down a very steep hill with Gosho wanting things exciting, but not wanting any real progress in. Anything. But unlike old MK, the new stories aren't even nice standalone setpieces of story, they're... mundane. They could be high stakes, if you purely look at the scenarios on paper, but. We all know nothing's gonna happen to Kid. Nothing even happens to him when the actual bad guys show up, much less one-time antagonists.

We need actual character focus and development, not heist drama. Badly. Not even romance, though that'd be a nice change. Just any character expansion of our limited cast of characters. Gosho wants big, all the time, meaningless big stuff, when small would be so nice.

#And also he probably won't care to expand on KaiAo when he knows it's already canon #Like; not in the same way that ShinRan is canon endgame and he just needed to write it out #But in a 'I said these two were dating in another manga; they will exist even if I haven't written it'#And his story atm does feel like it could be left off with an ambiguous note on if they're together or not #And then just leave them dating in Yaiba for people who care about confirmation #MK is not in a stable enough state; I really don't know what he's planning with anything #And it's been so. -gestures to all the 'meaningless big stuff'- lately #I don't know if it'll ever get any shift in focus in the future #We barely get anything; all we have now is a new character people are divided about #And the tiniest continuity of Aoko thinking to herself that Kid is teasing her by reminding her of Kaito #Like; part of the problem is continuity as well; at least if Gosho wants to stick with DC-ish MK #MK has all the potential for callbacks or returning characters that could be interesting #But none of the potential that fans enjoy is ever /used/#We got all our KaiAo up front. We have suspicion arcs where it's barely mentioned that Kaito's proven his innocence in the past #They could go back to the amusement park and Aoko could mention the movie and Kaito can be sweating #Because he never saw the movie; that's then he peaced out to go heisting #There's so much. Gosho's good at adding potential to his story #But everything he comes up with to make canon ends up disappointing because he never fully uses any of it #He just adds more and more elements that go nowhere #MK is a mess that gets more and more fun to play around in; but the actual chapters are. Bad #Which might be for a reason similar to DC of we wait so long and get something extremely meh #Except instead of the months between DC cases; it's years for MK; and DC fans complain the entire time #So when MK fans are fed crumbs of... anything. It's just not as enjoyable as new content should be #(I got rambly in tags; sorry ;._. )

I have a big google doc thing where I keep track of media and stuff (putting everything in loosely ranked categories), which is mostly just for my own reference so I know what tv shows I've already seen before, etc. and I never really look back through it, typically just a quick "okay, watched two movie in the past 8 months, need to quickly slap them somewhere in the lists. okay. done. save document. exit". But today I was actually reading through some of the old notes and there are like... MULTIPLE places where my comment is basically "It would have been good if it were about elves" or "I wish there was a fantasy show made in this same style" or "It's well made, but I just keep thinking about how I would like it more if everyone was an elf or was in old 1700s costumes" or etc like...... lol.... Most biased media ranking system on earth blatantly made by someone with an extremely hyperspecific range of narrow interests. It'd be like if a food reviewer only had 5 foods they actually liked, so they'd just go to a pizza place and be like "eh, the pizza was okay, but I just think it would be better if it was cereal instead. :/ ...2 out of 10"

#Which.. I mean... I am allowed to be biased because literally it's just for my own personal reference (or occasionall #y to send to friends or something if we're discussing the topic) so like.. nowhere am I saying 'I am the god of perfect taste and these #rankings are objectively the absolute truth and everyone should have my same opinion' or anything #BUT still.. it's funny to me sometimes #'Succession would be 100x better if it had the same cast/character quirks and shaky camera style and #acting choices/weird dialogue and general concept etc. EXCEPT it takes place within an elven noble family or something #managing the family business and everyone is in fantasy costumes now'' like.....okay...... but it's NOT that way..soo... thats not the show #''I like the acting style/general tone of Fleabag but i don't care for any of the characters or any of the subject matter and I wish it was #set in the 1800s and had vampires and was about magic instead'' okay..... again... you are making up an entirely new show in that case lol #OR my other beloved typical complaint ''The concept is good but theres too much plot and action and not enough people just sitting #around doing nothing and exposition dumping world and character lore'' ''this needs more goofy sideplots and filler episodes''#''this Drama was too dramatic I think it should be more lighthearted & people need to sit around doing nothing just being weird more often'#''the Action Movie was ok except for the action scenes - which I skipped through all of- but I liked the costumes and worldbuilding'' etc.#ERM sorry your plot has too much plot. also elves have to be included somehow. bye #BUT SERIOUSLY!!!!!! #like damn if i really was 100% right about this before i even knew what i was talking about #anyways one of the many many problems with new 52 wonder woman is the fact that diana isnt religious enough #also that azzarello and chiang are incapable of imagining a feminist utopia which is the original genre that wonder woman comics were based #in in the same way that batman for example is connected to the noir genre. and the mythological aspects of the og wonder woman comics were #in fact a common framing aspect of the feminist utopia genre of the progressive era (with many of the deeper greek mythology aspects being #established as the foremost ww genre later on)#anyways this failure to understand this layering of genres in the ww mythology i believe is the principle contributor of why this run which #is popular with many and has such a footprint in other more mainstream media is hated by so many longtime wonder woman fans in that it not #only neglects but actively goes against key parts of her premise #a comparison could be made to a superman run that is heavily based in science fiction and exploring deep sci fi genre plots without any #understanding by the creators of why it matters that superman is champion of the oppressed and disrespecting that core part of him by in #some ways making him actually go against that in service of the high sci fi genre plots and conflict #and then ofc to translate better in this reality this run would function like a can of worms in that while dc in comics would eventually #course correct back to the base version the public opinion would become divided and especially adaptations would need all the canon changes #from that run torn viciously out of their hands bc they refuse to LET IT GO #anyways yeah teehee i swore to someone id never read it but i needed it for fic research purposes unfortunately so i started it. only read 6 #issues but meh. first one wasnt terrible tbh id read worse but after that i got much more unhappy #anyways they simply dont understand why people like the amazons or why people should like the amazons. which again is like half the freaking #point bc like. feminist utopia genre. but i digress #its bad but its bad in a way that proves me right about why its bad so at least theres that #someday when i post my rebirth ww fic ill post the analysis of nu52 ww and the comparison to the beat movement/ginsberg that ive got in my #drafts. finally get that A in comic book literary analysis #blah

This nearly became Sorceress-Warlock Jacqueline from THIS AU. Didn't feel like drawing that fit tho so it's just regular canon Jacqueline, lol. (but picturing the scars and the eye patch she doesn't actually need but wears for the aesthetic was a FUN mental image at the beginning of the week! then the horrors persisted and I went WHO HAS THE SPOONS. NOT ME)

Drawing the whooshy cloak was fun. Colouring it was even MORE fun. I was going CRAZY last night trying to find a post I made where I described Jacqueline's staff?? I COULDN'T FUCKING FIND IT AND I S2G I READ IT THE OTHER DAY. LIKE EARLIER THIS WEEK. So hopefully my visual memory served me WELL and I don't find the post and go FUCKING EH at a later date, lol.

this scrimbly was very much a scrimbly lol. I think it took me like 10 minutes to doodle. I'm having a LOW ENERGY WEEK. Feelin burnt out af and dreading the weekend! Woo! Almost DIDN'T scrimbly! All four Frosts would pass the warlock test--the question is, do they fully embrace it? Fino does. Fiera does but like, second to the summer sprite training. Jack learns what's useful/what he wants/needs to. Jacqueline was FINE not warlocking, she's good with the snow, BUT Jack keeps nagging her to at LEAST take the test and when she passes it he's like c'mon. c'mon. warlock training. you know you want tooo I could teach youuuuu

She holds off for a VERY long time then gets schemey brain a couple of centuries down the line and goes for it. It's spoilery and I do want to keep this one close to my chest, BUT:

Essentially she learns that she has something someone needs/wants back and she can only do that by getting into the Warlock training! She uses this to try and bring two estranged people closer and when it doesn't go well she hits Jack up after hours and is like "so my plan is going. hmm. bad. let's start warlock training?" and Jack's like YEAH LET'S FUCKING GOOOO bc A) he told her so. B) he;s been wanting to get her started with the warlock biz for YEARS! AND out of ALL THE TEACHERS SHE'S COMING TO HIM (well. unofficially) and C) he is also enjoying the tea from her little scheme and about the two people in question, lol.

Anyway, enjoy the scrimble! Next week is some prohibition fun ft. Winter, I THINK. I'll have to check my notes 🤔🤔🤔

#demigodsooc #if this is related to the fanfic collection I just want you guys to know that I'm a multishipper through and through #I have my fave pairings but I'm just not allegiant to anything #so don't worry about whether or not I might dislike the ships you submit fanfics about #I don't actively dislike anything unless it has an uncomfortable age gap #notwithstanding works where writers explicitly make age gaps more appropriate in their fanfics than they are in canon #but since I'm already blabbering in these tags I'll just answer your question here #I'm neutral about jason ships in particular because I just don't think someone with amnesia about their entire life should be dating at all #I just think that's a uniquely vulnerable situation and a new romance is not the answer especially as a teenager #which is not to say that an amnesiac should never date anyone ever but I feel like if a person wakes up in a hospital with total amnesia #it's dangerous to be getting into intense relationships mere weeks/months after the fact like I really think more recovery time is needed #or at least way more than jason was allotted in the books #however! Passion is #a slightly waspish but still quite gentle narrative about an elderly widow (Hiller) who‚ upon the death of her politician husband‚ begins #to finally experience some sense of freedom and self expression at an advanced age and despite the interference of her adult (and indeed #fairly aged) children. there's an unmistakable feminist thread running through this piece‚ altho the lead disavows the label (as indeed #the author did); Hiller has spent some 60 years or more acting the dutiful wife and mother‚ and her final attempt to grasp some sense of #freedom and self expression is largely met with bemused distaste and suspicion. ideas too of class (Hiller's only real support comes from #the middle or working class contacts she makes in securing a new home) and of generational divide (her great granddaughter is the only #family member who appears to truly understand her desires and needs). beautifully cast but a little slow in this first episode

I am going to do my best by making it a little funny.#Xue yang really committed fully to this new life of his! Don't threated him by trying to ruin it!#I love how he takes the blame here too. Yes he purposefully set up events to cause a divide between them #Yes he attacked SL because it would hurt XXC the most #but hey: that only hurt because he loved SL so much (in whatever form they have)#and SL hurt XXC in turn by sending him away #Xue Yang set it up but Song Lan dealt a blow on his own #XY is still the *most* at fault here but contrasting this with how strongly he justifies his actions to XXC later is very interesting to me #also he did NOT have to villain monologue about all the stuff he made xxc do. He could have just shut up about it #but nah he needs to cause hurt because HE'S so hurt and can't make other people understand him in any other way.

#prince's talk tag #disclaimer: i do not drive #i love this game except for the way you get modules like fr #i have to play two thirds of a song to get to chance time‚ CLEAR chance time AND hit the star note and then HOPE the module i want appears #if i use a module that increases the chance of getting a new or rare one itd be a bit easier but i dont have one for Quirky!Meiko #ah in case you didnt know x is divided into clouds kinda like how prsk has different sekais #theres classic cute cool elegant and quirky. and the cryptonloids take on different personalities depending on the cloud #to clear a song you have to get enough voltage points and a good way to do thats is to wear modules and accessories that match the cloud #so for example the song Urotander Underhanded Rangers is a quirky cloud song #and base voltage is 100%. but if you use a quirky module and quirky accessories you can boost it so you get a headstart #on charging the voltage to clear the song #now each module has a special ability whether its helping with voltage or getting you more points or obtaining modules #this is where it gets tricky bc you need to use the appropriate modules to get the most voltage out of your gameplay #but if you want something specific like a new module but dont have a module that would make that easy for that cloud #then youll be playing the same song over and over until the gacha gods pity you and give you what you want #i want the underhand red modules for Meiko (both masked and unmasked versions)#but i dont have quirky meiko modules that increase the chance of getting a new or rare modules #and using a module that isnt quirky decreases my starting voltage by 20% and i need that voltage #bc fun twist if you dont clear the voltage by the end of the song you dont get a new module if you unlock it during chance time #theres a meiko festival thats hard af to play in this game where you have to play 3 hard ass songs to get the voltage high enough #but the outfit has a 1 in 4 chance of showing up #so you could be doing so good and then during chance time (which happens during the third song) the module wont show up #so you gotta do it all over again #OR the opposite where you dont get enough voltage but the module you need DOES show up but you dont get the module #bc your voltage wasnt high enough #i love this gameeeeeeeeeee

I feel like with the Internet and all our society is kind of entering this new phase in terms of nationality of like, people who kind of think Nationalist-ly or Globally/human-ly? Like a lot of our communities and important social spaces are not as restricted by like relative global position anymore and it's like very easy to get news about shit happening halfway across the world.

#yeah this is about free Palestine movement btw bc the media censorship is so crazy and its also like really highlighting #a divide between how people of like different internet usage? get their news/tap into world events/have political concerns #like genuinely the fact that there is such a strong narrative of like 'protecting national interests' is kind if fucking shocking to me #bc it made me realize this divide of like. a lot of us dont fucking see ourselves as being on 'teams' with our capitalist regimes anymore #when i see decisions by the US in politics i dont think of it as 'us' vs them because its so obvious i have more in common with the kids #studying medicine and making art and wanting to see their families again in Palestine than the assholes who love murdering them #and i am shocked to realize that like people like my parents for example dont feel that way at all? like they dont like whats happening #but whenever i bring it up they kind of feel the need to half heartedly come up with excuses for Joe and try to keep me from having my like #strong opinion i have about not endorsing endless child murder.#personal #vent
