#wearing a new pair of contacts and things are still blurry #I need a new prescription tho #tbf I couldn't see when I first got this prescription #the doctor I went to is lowkey an asshole amd just dgaf #alsoooo I have a list of eye problems so correcting my vision isn't super straightforward and takes time to figure out #BUT we go to a different doctor every year for whatever reason #I went to the same doctor for 3 years and I could see a different universe I swear that man knew what he was doing #haven't gotten that experience in like 8 years tho unfortunately #Sera

eye doctor was trying not to scare me today bc i have a sight threatening condition 🥲 it's probably treatable but i need to go to a specialist

#havent been to the eye doctor in six years but i was like okay i need to update my prescription my headaches are getting really bad #and my prescription barely changed so the doctor said it wasnt that #also this other condition doesn't cause headaches either so treating it wont even help :(#tho it does make me light sensitive which is a trigger ao maybe it will help a little i hope #but mostly i hope its treatable #also i have no health insurance so hopefully its not expensive lol #but at least the job search is going well so maybe i can handle the treatment myself #but since i will go blind if its untreated my parents will definitely cover it if i cant i just feel bad #they paid for my appt to get the new prescription today too but that wasn't very much i didn't even get the new glasses #but seeing a cornea specialist regularly to treat a scary condition is going to be expensive 😭#i dont even know how expensive yet tho #maybe i should make a gofundme or something #this has been a shitpost #im not 100% sure my parentsncan afford it if its expensive #probably depends how far its progressing and how fast andnwhat the cause is and a million other things #but i know it can be difficult and resist treatment 😰#and its not early for catching it at all

Yeah the motion sickness stuff goes away in a couple days. It’s just your eyes adjusting. Lay down if you need to and enjoy your new 1080p HD vision!

Yeah I went on 2 walks/hikes and only almost faceplanted over roots like a few times! Definitely got a little queasy when there was a Lot happening around me but otherwise it was relatively fine and my eyes are starting to adjust already.

Thank you to everyone for the reassurances! Glasses gang unite!

#the tl;dr is that i used to wear contacts all the time cuz of sports #and my prescription was pretty light to begin with #and then after i quit teaching sports and started being on my laptop a lot i stopped wearing contacts #cuz i didnt really need it #but being on my laptop a lot made my eyes weaker i think #that or age #or both #so now i am having a lot of trouble seeing things and i cant read road signs anymore #so i went to the eye doc a few weeks ago and got a new prescription #and bought glasses for the first time since i was like 14 i think #so i am glasses gang again #and also contacts gang #tho not contacts gang till allergy season is over

Hahaha I love finding out I have surprise new £225+ per month payment for the next 3 months 🥲

#theres a national shortage of my adhd meds and my gp cant sort getting an alternative on their own #so i need to go back to the private clinic for a new prescription and titration appointments #after working the summer and my dad not realising he gave me extra money (he stopping paying child support early so im keeping this)#i have some savings #but i was hoping to keep that aside for grad school or smth #🥲🥲🥲#im starting a new job soon tho that apparently helps with unexpected bills so i should be ok #and hopefully it pays a bit better

my voice started changing SO fast on T like the first changes i noticed were around three weeks and now it's been like six-ish weeks on 0.3 (a pretty low dose) and my voice is noticably deeper and cracking when i try to pitch it too high. really wasn't expecting this to happen for like a year im really pleased :)

#it's very on and off though like one day ill sound totally normal #another one ill be much deeper and unable to pitch up and have a bit of a sore throat #but it's consistently happening to where im sure its the T and ppl are noticing the change #by probably next year i think i will sound like a man consistently. very happy!!!#a side effect is that i sound gay as hell and i imagine this will create some new problems for me bc usually when i pass i look gay #to people. i am aware of this because i live in Hell and people make sure to let me know of my faggotry #but eh it's basically either gay guy or butch to those people so it's not like a significant change in QOL wrt homophobia #my prescription is also gonna be out in two or so weeks and then i can go back and ask to raise it again yipee #i prolly need to do blood testing first tho bc PCOS makes me require more monitoring

I feel like my crown just shifted up oh my god

#i have a cleaning thursday before work so like i can tell someone #but also why did i do that i schedualed it super early like im already regreting it #considering itll be the day after valentines which means my shift ends at 9/9:30 #and ill have to be there at my dentist by 7:30am #its whatever i just need to finish my dental work at the office then get my wisdom tooh pulled and ill be done w my teeth health wise #and then its onto the allergy shots which reminds me i have to reschedual my appt w my ent hoepfully its not anything too crazy far out #but i wanna talk w him and be like hey these shits are expensive what are my options or do u wanna be a homie and update my diagnosis #so they can get covered by my insurance cause i think if i can breath at like even 80% capacity my life would immensly change #and i was reading abt how like major chronic allergies lead to inflamation and my drs were concered abt that n i know i need to lose weight #but not being able to breath thru my nose hinders that to a degree #but like severe allergies are horrible for inflamation and like fucks up ur body and its like no wonder i feel horrible all the time #and itll prolly massively improve my sleep which also helps you #and i gotta go see my thyroid dr whos on the opposite end of town and wont answer the fucking phone to schedule and appt #cause i have to do that to renew my prescription and frankly i wish my primary dr could take care of that or get a new thyroid dr in general #but shes on maternity leave so ill have to wait for that #my dentist is also on maternity leave so ill have to see a diff one #i also ghosted my cardiologist but he literally called and was like ur fine the tests we ran showed ur in good health #but u should be more in shape and i didnt want another lecure abt being fat so i didnt go but i prolly should tho my results #prolly arent relavent anymore #and ive attemped ive done my bike workout a bit but its also been winter and i cannot bring myself to do anything besides rot in bed #most of the time and if i am going out its like to the movies or events where i just stand around and talk to people very low effort #i also have to email that lady abt my cetificate i still havent gotten abd the haircut place who charved me twice and write that damn review #that ive forgotten so many times

I poured acetone on my acetate frame glasses because I wasn't thinking/thought it was ethanol for some reason? So I ordered new glasses and I'm going to wear the acetone stained ones only at the lab

it's rly rly funny to like. have The Transgender Glasses (either the plastic tortoise shell round frames, the clear plastic round frames, or the harry potter round wire frames) and be like hmmm i gotta stop having the same glasses as every single other he/they what would be really different. maybe like the 2000s sort of narrower rectangular/oval frames??? and then realizing all the he/theys are also wearing those now, probably because we all had the same thought of oof time to change it up.

TIL that my right eye had gone haywire and shit

#story time! because im annoying #so today is my first day of clinical posting this semester and im posted to eye clinic #so we did our assessment (which the marks not as high as i expected) which are performing visual acuity test and instil eye drops #and when my friend did the visual acuity test on me my right eye vision is shit even when im wearing my glasses #it was 6/18 (which in the snellen chart i only managed to read until the 3rd row)#my left eye is okay and i thought i was tripping tbh #my ci thought my glasses' power increases as hell so she sent me to the low vision specialist part of the clinic #the ophthalmologist mention a medical condition idk the name and did the test like you would when you want to buy prescription glasses #the one where you wear a weird glasses and they keep on changing the lenses and ask you if its clearer or what #ANYWAY #turns out that when i was younger apparently the shop i made my glasses did the wrong prescription glasses #like my left eye was right but my right eye was wrong and it made my right eye turn to shit #so my power for my left eye is 300 while my right eye is 600+#but they cant give me the 600 on my right eye because then it will autocorrect #like if i occlude my left eye i can see the it clearer but as a pair of glasses it will be hard to read as the words will merge and all #so what the glasses shop i got my latest glasses did is they balanced the power on each side so that i can see better #thats why when i did the visual acuity test my right eye is shit because my glasses is made that way to balance it #its a really good news though because i thought that i need to buy new glasses #he did mention that my 'silau' increases tho but that's fine #the more you know 👀#personal.txt

Getting your payment a day early but being unable to pay rent that's due tomorrow because your phone is in the repair shop for who knows how long (they closed today still having my phone) and your bank's site never works on your desktop for some reason

#I messaged landlord-roommate about it and he saw but never responded #I miss my phone #it finally stopped charging all together and died this past Monday #theta was kind enough to take it to the repair shop but they had to order a replacement charging port #and because of Baltimore's ungodly delays in the mail that's warranted a congressional investigation #the part only came in today and they didn't call before they closed saying the repair was finished #hopefully it's fixed by tomorrow because they're closed Sunday #I've already had one friend contact theta in a panic because I hadn't responded to the convo in days #I'm worried my clinic has been trying to check up on me because they know I was in the E.R. last Friday night #I can't remember if theta is my emergency contact or if they'll do a welfare check on me #Also I need to ask my PCP about potentially writing a new prescription for my pneumonia meds because I ran out of one #and am about to run out of the other #and I'm still a sick. doing better tho #but we'll see how long that lasts without meds #anyway I miss my phone

this is so cute 🥺 I do find it a little funny bc I read the first line and all I could think of was going to the optometrist bc of having glasses since I was 3 or 4 😭 "put ur hand over ur left eye and read the smallest line, okay now switch 😁"

anyway very relatable I do a similar thing at night when I'm trying to sleep giggle

also this is much more side tangent but I do this thing when I'm reading in bed where one eye ends up blocked (sometimes accidentally by a pillow sometimes intentionally covered) so my other does all the work to read (it's usually easier to read w just that eye too) and I recently realized that the eye that ends up covered is my weaker eye and that my eyesight in that eye has gotten worse the last couple years (and the other has gotten better) so now I'm very aware of that habit and the way it affects my vision (it also makes those eye patches they made me wear as a kid make a lot more sense)

point is (I don't think I had an actual point) a world that I can see clearly with my eyes wide anything is so foreign, it's always hazy and unfocused 🤭
