every time i try to go easier on rachel and give her the benefit of the doubt, i find shit like this

i was literally just trying to wrap up the hades x thanatos conversation text edit that i've been posting over on my IG and felt like adding a couple extra panels so i went back to this episode (ep 215) to try and find panels of hades and hecate talking that i could segue out of the end part of the hades x thanatos conversation

and i found this

and i was like "oh yeah they visualize the doorbell ringing with a literal bell, i guess that works-"

that bell isn't rendered in rachel's usual style, it's very cell shady with zero texture

but no, no, don't do this puff, you're just being paranoid, it's just a silly little bell, are you really jumping to the conclusion that rachel and her team didn't draw this just because it looks a little off???

just throw it in google reverse image search so you can put this to rest and prove to yourself that it is, in fact, just a drawing of a bell, i don't need to be reading too much into it-

Why are vetted accounts sending people stuff like this.

I mean it's clearly copy-pasted and sent to multiple people but this isn't even a donations ask. Imma guess the reason people aren't responding is because you're accusing them of not doing enough for Palestine and sending it to multiple people who you clearly don't check because I've been posting about and for Palestine since oct 7th when I learned about it.

Also yes he is looking for donations, you can check his account and find it. Why are you sending this guilt trippy stuff to people and accusing them of not caring enough? You don't know me? You send these to multiple people so your clearly not checking the account in question. This dose nothing to help you personally or the Palestinian cause, it just pisses people off and makes them question vetters.

Painty's and Bot's representation are both pretty different and unique in their own ways.

Meanwhile Paintbrush's representation might portray the struggles of not being seen for who you are, and how it hurts that some people don't realize that, it is still good representation. Like, hell, they even said it two times in the series, the second time explicitely. PB came a long way and finally others respect them for who they are. And yeah, they're more on the androgynus side or something, but that's them. They're unique because of that. Not similar to Bot.

What I did see is that people complained mostly over Bot's eyelashes too and how they were the exact same thing which... isn't true? I already explained Painty but Bot's case is completely different.

Like, Bot was built to be the replacement of someone, but even then they weren't a perfect replacement. If you notice this, even before Bot knew the truth, they were kinder and more approachable in comparison with Bow, they had those differences that let you know that something was up.

And, hell! Bot was heartbroken over the fact that they were never a real person to begin with! That they are the copy of someone else! They even told Test Tube that "you are very lucky, because at the end of the day, mephone4 will get you all back, but I'll be stuck here, in a body that isn't mine, BECAUSE I AM NOT BOW!"

And Test Tube starts to help them to change and feel more comfortable about their body- about themselves.

Like, their legs and arms being able to expand/grow? That was because they wanted it to be like that!

Their voice changing? Heck! They even got a more "femenine" sounding voice! Because that's what they wanted!

Them changing from pink to green? That's because they wanted that.

All of that is because Bot wanted to be themselves.

Not Bow.

And they're still learning about themselves too, they even changed the shape of their body, they have the shape of a butterfly now thanks to Balloon and Nickel too.

They're both good representation because of that, I'd say, because they're both different stories

And, Paintbrush KNOWS who they are, and Bot is still discovering themselves, they're still learning,

And I think that's a beautiful thing.

I think it's funny when robots in fiction are just,,, super old and they outlive multiple generations of humans and are kinda treated as functionally immortal but irl tech is like "Your car is 20 years old???" or "I get a new smart phone every two years!"

I used to have an idea that I could get an investigative podcast to look into the scam gofundmes and find out where they are all coming from, so that it could finally break the spell they have on tumblr's userbase and increase scam literacy. We all agree that money should be going to fundraisers with a high chance that the money will be sent by the trusted organiser to a person in Gaza. Right? So sifting out scams is a really good idea as it will increase donations to the legit ones. Right??

But recently I realised it wouldn't fucking work. They would just say it was a huge conspiracy. Look at what happened with the Russian bots. No one has ever heard from the 'activists' who were removed before or since...if you know anything about tumblr you know that when real people get removed for an unjust reason, they come right back with a new username, especially if they feel they have something important to say. But that never happened with these 'activists ' (in quotes because the blogs they ran weren't really about activism, it was social justice shitposting of the kind very popular on tumblr c2015). And despite that, plus the fact that actual investigative journalism work was done to identify them, a good portion of tumblr still thinks it was a huge injustice, a conspiracy to silence powerful and necessary activism work.

So I think that idea is a lost cause. I'm just going to keep telling people to look at the organiser and beneficiary section till I'm blue in the face.
