Hi! I wanna cry out my heart tonight so is it alright for you to make a neteyam x reader where neteyam comes back home after the war but hears that reader is mated/bonded with someone else?
Btw I love your works omg! đŸ„č
Neteyam Returns From the Metkayina and Falls In Love With You Again After Seeing You (SFW / Comfort)
Reader is Fem! Omaticaya
CW: i'm sorry but i couldn't bring myself to do it :'), i had it all planned out but it was just too sad, i hope you're alright with the change tho, fluffy fluff, simp Neteyam appearance, reader is one too, Lo'ak and Kiri are, yet again, Lo'ak and Kiri, skeezy is when someone is weird or creepy, figured I’d slide some black slang in there
Tumblr media
"Someone's excited," Kiri giggles, turning to Neteyam as her and Lo'ak's ikran approached the entrance to the Omaticaya Stronghold.
The boy had had this childlike expression plastered on his face nearly the whole way home, which grew in giddiness the closer the family drew to their forest home.
Even in the earlier days when they had stopped for rest, she clearly remembered how much he mumbled your name in his sleep, as if it were a prayer.
It made her want to swoon and gag at the same time.
He's so hopeless.
"Yeah. We all know what your excited to see," Lo'ak smirked, pulling his ikran closer to Neteyam's, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Or should I say...who?"
Neteyam scoffed, rolling his eyes at their antics.
Ever since their journey started, the teasing had been relentless. So much so that it didn't even faze him anymore.
What's a few more minutes of it anyway?
Seeing you again would be his greatest reward.
Four years of pining and longing would all be worth it.
The hard days, the cold nights, the times where he felt like he couldn't anymore. You came to him, be it a dream, or a memory, and told him you could.
It was what made him love you so much.
Even if you weren’t there, you were there for him, easing his body, mind, and soul.
Back when he lived with the Omaticaya, you two had a special spot that one would go to if they were sad, mad, tired, or simply overwhelmed.
The other would comfort them, hold them close, say sweet nothings, make the other feel loved.
It became a regular thing. And now that he was coming back, it was the very first thing he wanted to do with you.
He wanted to feel you run your hands through his hair, he wanted you to trace his glowing freckles, he wanted you whisper how much you loved him into his ear.
Fuck.
“You know what would be hilarious? If she found a mate already,” Lo’ak poorly joked, turning to Kiri.
This quickly brought Neteyam out of his reverie, a nervous frown quickly replacing his smile
Kiri was quick to catch this.
“Don’t joke like that, skxawng!” she scolded, flicking him harshly on the head, earning an angry ow! from him.
“Last I checked, (y/n) was obsessed with Neteyam. She wouldn’t shut up about him. I highly doubt she would ever find someone else.”
But the words went through one ear and out the other.
The thought you would mate with someone else never crossed Neteyam’s mind. But now that it did, it made perfect sense.
Four years was a long time, and you were a beautiful woman.
No doubt some skeezy warrior tried to snatch you up the moment you came of age.
The thought made his blood boil, and his heart wrench.
This couldn’t be the case.
After all he’d been through throughout these four years, the only thing that was keeping him going was the thought of you waiting for him at home.
Now that there was a possibility of you no longer being his, he was truly contemplating turning back.
“Look alive kids. We’re here,” his dad smiled, pulling his ikran to the front of the pack.
“Yay! Home!” Tuk cheered from her spot with Neytiri, earning a laugh from the woman.
She was quite excited to be home, too.
They swooped into the cave, perching the ikran on the stone ledge before dismounting, the entirety of the clan running towards them, crowding the family.
Shouts and cheers of excitement echoed throughout the cave, the cave happy to see their former Olo’eyktan had returned, hopefully ready for him, or his son, to resume the mantle.
Despite the thick crowd, Mo’at managed to make it to the front of the mantle, along with the new Olo’eyktan.
“Jakesully, oel ngati kameie,” Mo’at nodded, pointing her hand from herself to Jake.
“Mo’at, oel ngati kameie. Olo’eyktan, oel ngati kameie,” Jake did the same, turning to the Olo’eyktan as well.
Once the formalities were out the way, Mo’at smiled, enveloping her family in a large hug.
“Welcome home,” she greeted.
The entire family hugged her back, the children happy to see their grandmother again.
“Grandmother! You will never believe what we have seen! All of the sea animals and the plants! Oh, and the tulkun!” Tuk happily rambled, hanging onto her grandma a little longer as the rest of the family broke away.
“I am sure you will tell me all about it tonight. My, you have gotten big!” Mo’at assured, hugging her granddaughter tightly.
While Neteyam was happy that his family was fully reunited once again, he still found his eyes scouring the crowd, looking for a familiar face.
Your familiar face.
“She is in the healing tent,” Mo’at whispered, recognizing her grandson’s distress.
He smiled, giving her a quick peck on the cheek before running off through the crowd, down the familiar path that always led him to you.
Visions of the day he left flashed through his head, reminding him what he was coming back to.
“Are you sure you have to go?” you tearfully asked, cupping his face in your hand.
“I must. My family will put everyone in the clan in danger if we stay,” he sighed, pulling you in closer by your waist, resting his forehead on yours.
“Well if you must,” you sniffled, quickly wiping a tear from your eye. “Then I support you. I will wait for you, Neteyam. For as long as it takes.”
When he snapped himself out of it, he was already at your tent flap, the piece of cloth the only thing keeping you two apart.
He was about to grab it, but stopped mid-way, hesitating.
What if you had really found someone else to love?
“I will wait for you, Neteyam. For as long as it takes,” your words repeated in his head.
He sighed, steeling his nerves, before yanking open the tent flap, walking in.
“Tsahey! How many times have I told you, Ateyo! You have to be more careful when climbing trees. If you had fell any different, you would have cracked your skull open,” you scolded, smoothing a mushroom salve over a large cut on a young boy’s forehead.
You back was turned, and you didn’t hear the flap sound over the boy’s complaints.
“Hitxoa, (y/n). I tried to be extra careful this time! But a syaksyuk came out of no where and shook the branch!” Ateyo whined, wincing at the sting of the paste.
The air caught in Neteyam’s throat as he got a good look at you, his eyes raking up and down your body.
You had grown so much.
Your hair had gotten longer, your chest had gotten larger, and your hips had gotten slightly bigger, with a slightly deeper curve to them.
It was making something stir in his stomach.
The feeling reminded him of that word he had caught his dad calling his mom once. The one that Neytiri hissed at him for when she realized the children were around.
What was it?
Sexy.
When you stopped rubbing the salve on him, the little boy opened his eyes, only for them to land on the tall, warrior behind you, who gave him a polite wave.
The boy gasped in shock, his eyes growing wide with awe.
He knew exactly who he was, every Omaticayan boy did.
Neteyam the Warrior, brother to Lo’ak the Warrior.
Stories of the brothers’ adventures were known throughout the clan. And they practically became legends to the children.
You cocked a brow, slowly turning around.
“What are you-.” Your breath hitched when your eyes met that of the warrior before you, his smile growing at the sight of your face.
You had gotten more beautiful, too.
You slowly stood up, looking the boy...no, man, up and down, a dark shade of blue growing on your cheeks.
He had gotten incredibly tall, and beefier, too.
And with new muscle, came new scars, which now littered his body, in a good way.
In an attractive way.
You would enjoy hearing stories about them as you traced them later tonight.
“Oel ngati kameie, my love,” he smirked, doing the gesture along with it, deeply hoping those words were still true.
The biggest smile you had smiled in four years found their way to your lips as you broke into a run, tackling the poor man in a bear hug.
“My Neteyam! You have returned!” you exclaimed out of pure happiness, throwing your arms around his neck and going on your tippy-toes to kiss him on the lips.
You were no longer tall enough to kiss him normally.
He laughed into it, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you closer to him ( if that was even possible ).
After your display of affection, he felt foolish to think you would ever mate with someone other than him.
As the two of you broke apart, he looked into your beautiful, honey eyes, and smiled as saw they held so much love behind them.
You were looking at him as if he hung the stars right before you.
And he recognized this because this was the very same look he would give you.
When you weren’t looking, of course.
“Look how beautiful you have grown. You must be the most sought woman in the clan,” he smirked, sensually tucking a stray braid behind your ear.
You smirked right back, bringing your hands to rest on his chest.
“Ah, yes. It has come to that,” you playfully sighed, leaning in closer so your mouth lay just outside his ear, bringing your voice down to a whisper.
“But I have saved myself for you.”
Neteyam quietly growled, the stir in his stomach increasing tenfold as he thought of what would happen if he took you to Utral AymokriyÀ tonight.
“As have I,” he huskily whispered back, giving your neck a quick peck.
His tone made you shudder, suddenly begging for eclipse to come so you two could sneak off.
“GROSS!” the little, forgotten boy exclaimed from the corner, holding his stomach as if he were about to throw up.
“Disgusting! You’re a warrior! You’re not supposed to like this lovey-dovey stuff!” he groaned, pointing to his mouth and gagging.
“Get out of here!” you scolded, turning around and placing your hands on your hips.
But not before Neteyam pulled you into him, your back resting on his strong chest.
“Yeah. Before I start kissing her again,” Neteyam teased, placing a long, dramatic kiss on your cheek, making you giggle.
“GROSSSSS!” the boy loudly groaned in agony, covering his eyes as he ran out the tent.
The two of you laughed at the boy’s antics before you turned around, wrapping your arms around his neck once more.
You both stayed in comfortable silence, having a silent conversation as you stared into each others eyes, taking in every detail and committing it to memory.
Just in case you two would have to separate again.
“You know,” you started, smirking as one of your hands find it’s way to Neteyam’s hair, rubbing it in the way you remembered he liked.
“I was being serious before. I have saved myself.”
You gave a light tug to some of his hair, and the man let out a strained groan, using every ounce of his strength to keep him from closing his eyes in pleasure.
You massaged his head so well.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to hold you again,” he sighed, tightening his grip around your waist.
You smiled, inching your face closer to his, to the point where your lips were a hair away.
“Then what are we still waiting for?” you purred.
That was his tipping point.
With a growl, he enveloped your lips in a passionate kiss, and you kissed him back with just as much fervor.
Hooking his hands under your thighs, he picked you up, carrying bridal style as he took you the back way out the tent.
“Neteyam!” you squealed, pulling out the kiss and tightening your grip around your neck, keeping yourself from falling.
“Quiet, my love. Or people will hear us,” he smirked, placing a quick kiss on your lips before running the both of you out the back entrance of the Stronghold.
Sure, you were serious about what you said. But past Neteyam would’ve never been bold enough to actually go through with it.
He had changed in these four years. He had grown confidence.
It was making something stir in you, even more so as you knew your destination would be Utral AymokriyÀ.
This is going to be fun.

hii here are some ideas/deets from my last request <3
- scenario where y/n has like a super rough pregnancy and she’s always sick and vomiting. Lots of fluff but also kind of angst idk??!! the kids are worried abt her and neteyam as well so he takes on all 4 kids by himself and lets y/n rest
- neteyam and y/n have their 5th baby and the details on the birth and all the other kids meet the baby and its just a lot of fluff!! and jake and neytiri meet the baby too as well as loak, kiri, tuk
IM SO EXCITED IF U WRITE THESE OMG AND TAKE UR TIME <3
AWEEE i love your mind! (the second part of your request is comingggg, i’ll post it when it’s finished :D)
in sickness and in health
âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ° âŠ±âœżâŠ°
a sharp jolt of pain surges through your abdomen, forcing you awake as you sit up, wincing. you gently place your hand on your lower stomach, feeling strong kicks right where your hand is placed. you begin to take short, shallow breaths, as another kick lands just below your ribcage.
your mouth begins to salivate as you grab the pot closest to you. you knew the feeling all too well. it’s been happening every morning for the past several months. sweat beads on your forehead, collecting and dripping down your face, while your entire body feels like it’s overheating. that familiar feeling returns to the back of your throat, causing you to gag. you begin dry heaving, which turns into vomiting everything you consumed the night prior.
meanwhile, neteyam is just outside of your marui, peeking through the flap every now and then to keep an eye on you. truthfully, he’s been worried sick about you, especially these past few months. you both are familiar with all the symptoms of pregnancy. you’ve been pregnant four times now. but it’s never been this bad. so, he decided to give neytiri a page through his throat comm, hoping she might have some answers to your worsening symptoms.
“mother, is this normal?
yes, she’s still getting sick. it’s every morning, i thought you said that would stop. i don’t know what to do, how to help her
i feel so useless. i just want to ease her pain, please
” his voice cracks with his last beg. “please help me help h-” his ears perk up to the sound of you vomiting. “i must go. it is happening again. please send grandmother!”
neteyam quickly opens the flap, seeing you doubled over, emptying the contents of your stomach into the pot he set aside for you. guilt courses through him, settling like a rock in the bottom of his stomach as he hastily makes his way to you.
you feel your mate’s warm hand run along your back, attempting to comfort you while his other hand holds the braids out of your face. once you’re certain you’ve thrown up everything in your system, you sit back against the wall of your home.
neteyam goes to move the pot outside, as to not make you more nauseous. he grabs a bowl of water as he makes his way back to you, guilt clawing at his insides.
you slightly pull your knees to your chest, as best as you can with being pregnant, and bury your face in your arms, sobbing.
neteyam kneels beside you, gently placing a hand on your shoulder. it broke his heart in two seeing you like this.
just then, you hear the flap to your marui open, revealing your four children, with jake, neytiri, and mo’at. neteyam looks up, glaring at his mother and father, speaking through gritted teeth. “i thought you weren’t supposed to be back for a few more hours.”
“yeah, we weren’t expecting this either. it’s an emergency, we gotta go.” jake quickly says, holding the flap open.
“what? dad-sir
i’m not leaving her!” neteyam begins to raise his voice, fist clenched at his side as his other hand is still rubbing your back.
“neteyam.” neytiri gently says. “we would not ask if it was not necessary.”
you give your mate’s arm a gentle squeeze, silently encouraging him to go. “it is all right,” you speak, your voice extremely hoarse. “grandmother is here, i’ll be okay.”
“we gotta go, now!” jake’s yelling now, and neteyam stands, quickly grabbing his bow before kneeling to kiss your forehead. “i love you. i’m so sorry, i’ll be back soon, okay?”
Neteyam turns one last time to lock eyes with you, before being yanked away by his parents.
“mama? where’s daddy going?” se’ayl asks, looking at the flap where her grandparents and father just exited.
i want to go with him!” tsantu states, a firm grip on the bow strung around his shoulder.
“mom, i’m tired.” txonuk yawns, stretching his arms above his head and curling up to your side.
nima gently stretches her hands over your protruding stomach, shifting them around a few inches. “wanna feel kicks!”
“children, please!” mo’at exclaims. “let your mother rest.” she begins taking out herbs and plants from her satchel, mixing them with water in a large bowl.
“it’s all right
” you say weakly. “daddy’s going hunting with grandma and grandpa, he’ll be back soon. you can’t go with him, it’s only a trip for adults. you know what, txonuk? mama’s sleepy too. how about we all lay down for a nap, and when we wake up, grandpa grandma and daddy will all be back!”
you shift forward slightly, so your head is resting on your pillow instead of your back. txonuk curls right up to your side, draping your arm over himself like a blanket. se’ayl and tsantu follow, laying beside you comfortably. nima rests her head on your stomach, ear perked up against your skin to “listen” to the baby. mo’at raises the bowl she’s been preparing to your lips. “drink, child. it will help with the nausea.”
you lift your head up, parting your lips just enough for the cool liquid to ease its way down your throat. “thank you, grandmother.”
mo’at nods, setting the bowl aside. “you may rest, i will keep watch until they return.”
“no, no
i can

..stay

.awake

.” your eyelids droop with exhaustion as you speak, and as you speak your last word, they stay closed. you finally succumb to a comfortable sleep, as you wait for your mate to return.

can you do comforting lo’ak when he’s upset because of his dad or something? love your writing style btw!!
omg omg omg girl thank you so so much!! it means a lot and sure — comforting lo’ak and eventually confessing?? why not heh đŸ«¶đŸœ
“i see you, lo’ak.” — lo’ak sully
Tumblr media
tighten your belt people, it’s lo’ak time! you hear me? yes lo’ak sully bae time. god i’m so excited for this!! okay but like i tired to make it turn out good :( hope you like it dear anon.
warnings - underage kissing and cursing, that’s it. and it’s a mixie mixie of angst and fluff :)
you bite your lips nervously, tapping your foot to the floor constantly when hearing lo’ak and his dad having a back to back argument inside the hammock.
“how many times are you supposed to be told lo’ak!” you hear jake yell at his son and your heart bleeds for lo’ak who was pretty much silent not saying any words. you can’t help but wonder what’s really going inside his head.
“i was trying to help you da—“ lo’ak was cut off when his dad hissed. “help?!” you, neteyam and kiri are outside the hammock while tuk tries to sneak peak on what’s happening by laying and spying under the fabric. “you can this help when you almost got yourself killed?”
“sorry sir.” you wanted to reach to lo’ak and pull him out from the constant yelling of his father.
“sorry does not fucking fix anything.” you glance at neteyam if he heard what you did, looking at you with a frowned brows neteyam nods. “kiri, get tuk out of here” he orders for kiri to persist
“kiri.” neteyam warns and you watch kiri sigh before scooping up tuk and leave the place.
“ma jake, don’t say things like that.” netyiri tries to calm her mate to go easy on her son but jake was far from feeling easy. “you know what, you’re grounded. no flying for month.” you can imagine how lo’ak’s golden eyes would widen.
“yes sir.” lo’ak says softly and starts to make his way out from the hammock. you’re about to brag inside and take him with you until you heard jake murmur words lo’ak always feared he would say
“he brings nothing but shame to this family.” lo’ak freezes.
you and lo’ak lock gaze before his hurt eyes instantly shift to cold and unbothered before walking out from the tent. “lo’ak!” you try to call him but he ignores you and walk away
you feel neteyam hold onto your arm and tell you, “i’m pretty sure he wants to be alone right now, yeah? maybe check on him later when he gets back.” your blink and think for a second before agreeing.
“i’ll go talk to dad now” neteyam says before he disappears into the hammock to talk with his parents s which will probably be about lo’ak.
hours passed since the argument and lo’ak storming off happened, and you’re honestly annoyed how jake didn’t careless and kept having dinner with his families with out your best friend or his so called son. “not gonna eat, my sweet child?” you hear netyiri say to you and you shake your head
“not really,” you push the handmade wooden bowl to the side as you are all sat on the floor.
“lo’ak is not back yet.” you say loud enough for jake to hear and stop chewing on his food. “it’s almost eclipse, sir.” you emphasize the ‘sir’ as you tell jake as if he’s not aware. “he’ll be back soon, i know him.” you scoff at the mighty dad of your best friend
“yeah you do know him.” you murmur under your breath not failing to catch jakes ear. “sorry?” he says, brows knitting “nothing, i’m heading off, have a nice meal all of you.”
you hear tuk asking where you’re going but neteyam answers her saying you’re heading to do something. that’s true actually, you’re going to find lo’ak and comfort him even though he’ll probably push you away. you decide to search for him by his favorite place and thank eywa your guess was right
a tall figure yet so pettily sat lo’ak was greeted against your sight and you smile watching him lean agains the big roots of the tree of voices. it was obvious he was deeply thinking about something and you didn’t want to interrupt him.
at least until you stepped on a dried up leave causing it to make a crunchy sound.
“hi.” you quickly say when his head snaps right towards your standing self. you awkwardly rub your arms and watch lo’ak as he’s silent for a while before speaking, “what’re you doing here?” his voice showed a tiny sign of surprise.
“looking for you?” you say as if it’s not obvious to the oblivious best friend of yours. actually not only a best friend but more of a something to you. “go away, y/n” his hurt voice returns but you’re stubborn enough to not listen to him and crouch in front of him
lo’ak was quick to advert his eyes elsewhere cause he knows he’ll instantly give in to you and cry if he sees your eyes. “lo’ak
” you whisper softly, afraid he’ll lash at you out of annoyance. “look, if dad sent you he—“
“no he didn’t, i came by myself.” you cut him off. “i know you’d be here because you always told me” you answer right after he asked you how you knew and you’re here. you can’t form the right words to make things better and just stare at his avoiding eyes
“can you please look at me?” you sincerely voice out but lo’ak doesn’t budge. “lo’ak, i
”
“i’m tired,” he suddenly says making you frown waiting for him to explain more. “i’m tired of trying to please my father who can’t love me at any cost.” you shake your head and cup his cheeks, “he does love you, don’t say that”
“oh please!” lo’ak pulls your hand away from his face. “you’ve heard what he said, i’m a shame to the sully family y/n, don’t try to rub that out cause you’ve fucking heard him clearly.” you take a deep breath, eyes almost teary because you understand what feels like being an outcast
“lo’ak” you just keep saying his name again and again because you’re lost of words. “you’re not a shame to the family, please don’t say that.”
“today, what you did there just proved you’re a real warrior. i saw you, i saw through you lo’ak and you’re not just a careless kid but a brave warrior like his father.” you’re trying your hard to make him see what you see.
“your father was just scared that he almost lost you, i even was scared when you came home passed out and carried by other people.” lo’ak’s ear flatten at your words. “i’m sorry i worried you” his last words on the ‘you’ was hard that you knew he’s only apologizing he got you worried only
you shake your head at him, “no lo’ak, all of us were worried at your state.” you don’t want to remember what the atmosphere was like few hours ago. “me, kiri, tuk, neteyam and even your mom.” you tell him before smiling
“and your dad? he was actually crying– i know you won’t trust me but he was so scared lo’ak, we had to get him away from you so you’ll get patched up because he was hugging your body tight to his” l you knew lo’ak would go thinking it’s a lie but no, you’re swearing on eywa and his breath hitches
“he said i’m a shame, y/n” his voice quivered and you wanted to wrap your arms around him and hug him so close. your hand lightly cup his left cheek and lo’ak hisses when you trace your thumb over the scratch he got on his cheekbone. “no you’re not, he’s just angry i know you’ll understand”
you watch lo’ak sigh and lean to your touch, closing his eyes. your heart aches and keeps beating faster when you feel his warm on your skin. you’re so desperate to say those words you’ve kept for yourself for a long time and finally roll them out of your tongue
“i see you.” at your words, you watch lo’ak’s eyes snap open and meet your gaze, “what did you say?” his heart that’s to pick up a pace. your cheeks redden slightly when his ears flick.
“i see you, lo’ak.” lo’ak let’s a soft but audible sigh out when you confess, he had been waiting for this moment his whole life with you. lo’ak is awfully quiet making your heart beat fast and you almost flinch when he suddenly cups your cheeks
“say it again.” his thump grazes over your lower full lip. “please.” he begs and you look away, “no please, look at me and say it again.”
“i see you, i see you, i. see. you.” you tell him and his lips curve in a genuine smile, caring less as his tail wipes left and right like a pet. “i see you.” he tells you and scoots close to you.
your gasp was loud when he said it back and your tears whelm, “can i kiss you?” you did not want him to ask about it. “please.” you say and watch your best fri– no your now soon to be future mate lean to you.
his lips were so soft when he pressed them against you, lo’ak leans back to see your pretty face, lashes fluttery closed as you lean to him for more. it was like fireworks exploding in your gut when his hand firmly grip your nape and pull you for more.
“lo’ak,” you say quickly and push him away startled. what are you guys doing? literally kissing when you’re supposed to comfort him and bring him back to the village for dinner. “what? what’s wrong?” his panicked state makes you giggle
“what is it!” he whines and you shake your head, “i didn’t think things would turn out like this,” you see his confusion and hum. “us ending up confessing and kissing when i’m supposed to comfort you.”
“trust me, you always had comforted me well when you said you see me.” his words make you shy. “i love you, pretty.” you’re not sure what the pet name means so he tells you he picked it up from his dad’s vocabulary when he calls his mom ‘pretty’
“skxawng!” you hit his shoulder playfully and stand up pulling him to get up with you. “c’mon let’s go back now.” you say and lo’ak breathes out a nervous sigh. “it’s gonna be okay,” you reassure him and he smiles before nodding and let you drag him back to the village.
i’m in awe, imagine lo’ak and tsireya like this in the somehow sjsjsj! here goes nothing again, thank you for requesting this anon
like + reblog is very much appreciated and not pressured!! i love each and everyone of you! mwah.

♡-Let Me Know Masterlist
You sighed as you drew another mark on the wall, that’s a total of 15 marks. It had been 15 days since you had stayed within the village or even seen the Sully family. You knew you needed a break, but honestly guilt was eating you up inside, you missed everyone.
You had seen your family occasionally, stopping by for meals or rest at certain times. You had also been within the village for small periods of time, mainly for the children, and unfortunately haven’t come across any of the other Sully members other than Tuk.
You had really wanted to see Neteyam more than anyone else, deciding it was a proper timing to talk things out with him to see where you two really stand. Now of all times during your break was probably one of the worst times though, thankfully your family was understanding. They had explained they already told the others of your break and to take your time through it all.
If anything, when you did get back Neteyam wouldn’t even be part of what you had in store. You had to speak to your brother and clear the air, the way things ended weren’t for the best. Even on your day-to-day occurrence of stopping by your mauri pod he wouldn’t be there, and apparently always asked for you.
It made your stomach twist slightly, your head felt like it was splitting in half, and you didn’t know what to do. You were too hurt to even think of any-
“Y/n?” You heard a familiar voice asking from behind you, you whipped your head around quickly to see A’tan. Surprise was plastered on your face, then quickly turning into confusion.
“How did you know I was here?” You asked him, turning back around as you watched him walk in further, sitting beside you and looking at the chart you carved into the wall. He smiled at you softly, then handed you a small blue conch shell which you immediately recognized.
“My sister told me you’d be here, she said you took her here before, wanted me to give you this.” He spoke as you took the shell into your hands with a soft smile, remembering Riti.
You thanked him and you two began small conversation. He soon led towards the point of what had happened two weeks ago and asked what had happened for your outburst. Apparently everyone that was there did spread the news onto the entire clan, and no one was willing to tell him what happened to you, you only sighed and huddled your knees to your chest.
“A couple of years ago, I was with Ao’nung, as he wanted to show me something special he had found with his friends. I went along with him of course, but we only went with my ilu. He stupidly went beyond the reefs and I chased after him, unfortunately we cross paths with a pxazang.” You paused, remembering that day as it was the only thing that would replay in your head over and over.
“I was able to distract it, calling back for my ilu and telling Ao’nung to go back home and get our father to help, knowing if we both left it would've followed after us. The most damage I did when he was away was cut its eye, but that only made him more aggressive
and he gave me this as a souvenir." You paused, pointing to your back as you moved your hair to the side slightly before speaking again.
"It’s funny because I had passed out from the injury and floated to the top of the ocean and my father kept mentioning how he was only able to locate me because my blood left a trail in the ocean to direct him towards me.” You spoke, shaking your head and smiling awkwardly to the idea of it all.
“I don’t know I want to get over it, but it feels impossible honestly, like-“ You stopped, thinking to yourself for a moment as A’tan spoke, not listening to a single word he said when an idea clicked in your mind.
All you had to do was face your problem head on, right? Then things would be easier for you. Yeah, they would be easier, you just had to find the pxazang and get all of this energy out. It was years ago and even so you damaged its eye, it couldn’t be that hard.
You quickly shot up, grabbing your equipment and weapons before thanking A’tan. He looked at you in confusion and asked you numerous questions, you only shooed him off and made him exit, as you did soon behind him.
Hopefully you wouldn’t die.

Your breath was ragged as you made your way back inside of your cave after petting your new animal goodbye. You held your side as you limped inside slowly, sitting down in front of your bedding and pulling out your herbal mixtures you had taken from home days ago.
You placed the paste on your side, your thigh, and upper arm. The cool sensation relieving the pain from your body and prior warm blood that trickled down it. You smiled to yourself, thinking back to your victorious moment, you were alive, and you had also bonded with the pxazang.
You thought to yourself how your family would’ve taken the news, definitely not well. You would’ve been scolded and seen as crazy for doing such a thing, but it bought a sort of comfort towards you. If you could beat such a creature there was no doubt you could do anything, especially speaking with your brother and the eldest Sully son.
You soon picked up your large shawl, placing your arms through the holes you had cut and placed the large hoodie over your head, now covering your body. You dug into your small pouch tied to your side and picked out the tooth of the pxazang.
You smiled softly as you got a small cord and wrapped it around tightly, securing it in place before tying it behind your neck and wearing it as a necklace. You looked over to the side, looking at the reflective surface on your wall and smiled looking at the necklace before hearing multiple people rushing into your cave.
You whipped your head around to see A’tan rushing inside alongside with your siblings and Roxto, you quickly stood up once you saw them all. A confused expression was worn on your face as you placed your hands to your side, before your sister immediately jumped into your arms hugging you tightly.
You smiled softly and hugged her back, biting your bottom lip as you winced and held in the pain from her pressing on your arms and sides. The two of you shared no words with one another, you looked past her shoulder to see your brother looking at the two of you, hurt in his eyes.
“Ao’nung” you said softly, your voice fairly hoarse. You motioned for him to come to you as you frowned at him, you sister let you go and you placed both hands on each side of his cheeks, cupping them.
You brought his head down to yours and pressed your forehead against his, as you two would do all the time when you were little and hugged him. Tears in your eyes and he only buried his head on your shoulder. You apologized to him profusely, over and over without fail, as he did to you, saying it wasn’t your fault and that he deserved it.
You soon shared your hugs with everyone inside, and they ushered you out as something terrible had happened to one of the Sully children. Before they could even go into detail about the seizure or how it started you darted out, calling for your ilu and speeding your way towards the shore of your family's mauri pod.
“Mama! Mama!” You shouted, pushing past all of the foreign objects and devices outside that made such loud noises as you made your way inside. Quickly flipping the beaded entrance to the side, you saw your mother who kneeled beside a body, Kiri’s body.
You greeted her quickly with a hug and walked around on the opposite side of her body. Placing a hand on her forehead, then her lower stomach. Her body was freezing, you frowned slightly taking in her unconscious expression and removed your shawl as your mother grabbed her needles to use on her torso.
You placed your shawl over her legs, and grabbing another cloth near you, rolling it up into a spiral like figure and placing it underneath her head to keep it elevated. Wincing as your body wouldn’t let you make that many movements as fast as you wanted from your wounds.
You took a deep breath and focused on your mother’s movements, mimicking her and keeping your hands over Kiri, praying for her. Honestly through your rush and prayers you hadn’t even realized everyone’s eyes on you.
Especially Neteyam, whose eyes hadn’t left your figure as he saw you sprint across the sandy beaches and into your pod. It wasn’t surprising for them to be shocked by your presence before them, it was the fact your body had suffered significant injuries.
Of course, your mother had taken note of this, her eyes not leaving your body nor Kiri’s. She took a good look at the necklace around your neck before huffing, to which you opened your eyes and asked if she was alright. She looked down at Kiri as she pointed a finger at your collarbone to where the necklace had rested against your skin.
“Where did you get that?” She asked, now placing her hand down and slightly poking Kiri again, a feeling of nervousness washed over you. You looked down at your hands and the bandaging on your left thigh, playing at it for a little.
“I made it from a tooth I found” you replied honestly. You weren’t lying, you did make the necklace, and you did find the tooth. Only in the palm of your hand after you had tied the mouth of the pxazang shut so you could climb atop it.
She only shook her head, before she could say or accuse you of anything else further and finding out the truth you only changed the topic, saying it was more important to focus on Kiri as of now.
And the two of you did.
Well,
Both families did, they all waited for her awakening. The children all sat together, Riti was accompanied by Tuk and A’tan, while Lo’ak sat with Tsireya, as you sat alone with your mother and Neytiri with Kiri. You only looked over your shoulder occasionally to catch Neteyam catching glimpses of you, then soon turning in the opposite direction and looking back at sea.
You stood up and excused yourself, watching as the colors were drained from the sky as night arose again. You walked over to him and took a seat beside him, hudding your knees to your chest.
You looked over at him briefly, placing one hand over your legs and another in the sand. He locked eyes with you, looking at you with a frown before wetting his lips and parting them.
“I’ve missed you” he spoke, looking out into the sea yet again, you only frowned and did the same. You felt your fingers bristle against one another for a brief moment, but you felt comfort for a while and didn’t move it.
His hand was warm, really warm. It clashed against your own cool skin as you had come from the water not too long ago, not even having time to properly dry your body off. The wind blew against the two of you for a moment before you spoke.
“I’m sorry, and I’m sorry about your sister also. I should’ve been here.” You said, hurt in your voice as you spoke to him, he only shook his head and smiled at you. Admiring your attitude and compassion towards the situation, and with your aid alongside your mother.
“It’s alright, your sister said you were taking a break because you weren’t feeling well.” He said with a pause, looking at your body before turning back and speaking again. “But it seems that you returned more beaten than you left” he joked, you chuckled at his response as he motioned towards your bandages.
After a moment of silence and short glances and bashful eyes towards one another you cleared your throat. Sitting with your legs crossed as you took a deep breath and turned, now sitting and facing his side.
He only raised a brow but copied your movement. Now sitting across from you and looking into your eyes, trying to find something. Whatever it was he was looking for was soon shut down as you closed your eyes and lowered your head before opening them again, looking into your lap.
“We need to talk” you said softly, looking up at him as you fidgeted with your fingers. He hadn’t seemed nervous at all, still keeping a confused expression on his face before he spoke.
“We’re talking now aren’t we?” He said, pointing between the two of you, making you smile softly as you shook your head at him.
“I mean we have to talk about us, or whatever is going between us. More importantly what you feel for me or for how long it’s been happening...” You lingered on, he made an expression saying he understood what you meant and smiled at you.
“You’re very beautiful, I’ve told you that since we first properly met. Your attitude and determination is also beautiful, how you care for my siblings as if they’re your own or the others of the village is admirable.” He spoke honestly, looking into your eyes as he muttered each word.
As you looked at him in shock you turned your head to the side, feeling a heat creep up poke at your face as you twisted your lips. You had only felt this issue out of embarrassment at certain times, so why now? In the corner of your eye, you caught onto Neteyam playing with the sand before speaking again.
“Over the time you were away I was able to think about you or more of how I saw you. I saw you as more of a friend, and my siblings even bullied me about it for a while.” He laughed, his eyes now glued to the sand as you turned back and listened to him speak.
“Even though we don’t personally know each other as well as I’d like us too, I feel like I’ve known you forever. My entire being longs for yours whenever you’re away, and even just seeing you makes me happy, we don’t even have to speak.” He smiled to himself as he spoke, your heartbeat quickened at his words. Unaware of what to say or do, shock now completely overwhelming you.
Truth be told you did feel the same way towards Neteyam, towards a certain extent at least, his emotions seeming more extreme than yours. Out of embarrassment and lack of understanding of course you kept it under wraps and never wished to explore it further, but as he sat here and said all of this it only made you question yourself.
Between the short time you two had spent together you compared it to what your mother had told you about how she felt for your father. Mentioning to you that these are things you should look for within a man in the future you wish to pursue a life with.
Someone who is attractive, and without a doubt Neteyam Sully was a fine man. A man who could make you laugh or bring a sense of comfort or happiness whenever you’re with him. You quickly thought back to the feeling the pit of your stomach would make whenever he would simply touch you or speak to you, let alone look at you the way he does.
You smiled at him, strongly as he lifted his head up. You quickly took your hand into his and only nodded softly. He soon pulled you into a hug, both of his hands on your lower back. It was soothing and also terrifying, his strength was unbelievable, and yet he was so gentle with you as you hugged him back. You closed your eyes, still wincing through the pain and grunting softly as you patted him softly.
It seemed to him without even opening your lips to say a word he was able to understand everything you were telling him by just looking into his eyes. That’s what he had been trying to do for so long, read you.
Now that he had read your true intentions and the messages you were sending him, he was beyond happy. Honestly, he had practiced alone how he would speak to you when the day came, now it’s happy to see his work paid off.
As you two pulled apart from the hug your eyes or hands never left one another. Just as your heartbeat had settled it was risen again, the tension between the two of you was thick, now it seemed as if he wasn’t looking into your eyes for a response, but permission.
You placed a hand on his cheek, cupping it as you placed the other one past his ear, your fingers grazing against the back of his head. He placed a hand on your lower jaw, one of his fingers dangling down underneath it. As he rested his other hand by the side of your neck, careful to not grab you throat as he leaned in.
You nodded softly, to which he grinned from ear to ear as his fangs poked out from his mouth slightly. He kissed you on your forehead as you pressed your eyes shut, only to open them again. Looking at him as he smiled cheerfully at you, you only rolled your eyes and sat up straight, now ready to start the first kiss between you two.
He smirked at you, already seeing what position you were taking as he placed one hand now on your lower waist. As your lips grazed against one another before pressing you heard cheering and cries from the children inside. Quickly you pulled back from Neteyam, pushing him off of you and falling back first in the sand with a thud.
Without haste both Riti and Tuk came outside towards the two of you and jumped up and down screaming. Startling you as you now rolled over to stand up, looking back at Neteyam who was rested back on his elbows with his legs stretched out, shooting you a cocky smirk as you rolled your eyes.
“Kiri’s awake she’s awake!” They shouted in unison as they jumped hand in hand, you and Neteyam both darted towards the entrance of your mauri pod. You led a front while he stayed right behind you, his breathing heavy on your skin as you shivered.
As the two of you walked inside he placed a hand on your lower waist yet again, to push past you to get to his sister as you took a spot by your mother. As everyone said their hellos and hugged Kiri, you kept sudden glances and smiles back and forth between Neteyam, as he did you.
Realization hit you slowly, the two of you had nearly kissed, let alone had been nearly caught. It wasn’t just any kiss for you either, your first kiss. Your first kiss would’ve been him.
You covered your mouth and placed your face in your hands as you felt the same heat as before creep up to your cheeks yet again.
So long to saying you’d prevent anything happening between the two of you.

You paced in your kelku, your hand going to your stomach unconsciously as you thought about your mates and children being out there fighting those demons all by themselves, you couldn't just sit here on the shore and wait for them to come back, you knew the risk but you weren't about to let your mates be alone on the battlefield.
your twin watched as you dug a pit in the middle of your mauri as you paced back and forth, his eyes never leaving your worried form walking out of the kelku, as you called your ilu he stopped you "y/n
." He said softly, looking down at your abdomen and back up into your eyes but you shook your head "not now, te" was your only reply, instantly mounting your ilu and making your way towards the raging cold waters of the battle.
You were horrified to see the sight in front of you, the demon ship was crashed on the rock Island, people fighting and killing whoever in sight, your ears going flat against your forehead as you made your way towards the ship cautiously, the sky was dark and gloomy, sun setting down in the distance, the only light was from the fire that shone over the ship was from the explosion.
You climbed on the cold metal as the scene unfolding on the sinking dock made your blood run cold, Kiri in the grasp of that demon, his knife against her throat, Neytiri standing in front of them with her own knife against a human's chest, but a loud cry from tuk grabbed your attention as she ran into your arms "MAMA!!" you picked her up hurriedly.
Jake immediately pulled you behind him, his eyes wide in fear "what are you doing here?!" He whisper-yelled at you in concern, though you tried to answer but the na’vi looking man in demon clothes let Kiri go with a yell as Neytiri almost killed the human child in her grasp, a ruby red cut marred his chest now, Jake instantly pushed you behind him “stay behind” he ordered, tuk wrapped her arms around your neck, clinging onto your side, while burying her face in the crook of your neck and shoulder, Neytiri jogged back to you as she kissed your and tuk's foreheads, checking for any cuts and bruises “thank Eywa, are you okay, ma’yawne?” Her voice was strained from the fight, everything was happening too fast for her to comprehend “I’m okay
for now i guess” you answered back as the unease inside you grew, the only thing she knew is that she needed you and her family safe.
Walking away from the scene, Neytiri's arm around your waist as you carried tuk on your hip, the water filling in, breaths shivering out of everyone's lips, Kiri and the human child, Spider, walking behind you, your eyes going back to Jake as he fought the demon with all his might.
The distraction was enough as your foot slipped going straight into the open door of the sinking ship, the water sucking you in forcefully as tuk screamed in your neck, holding tightly as Neytiri yelled, wide eyed, holding onto your hand but the force was too great and her hold went slack, your body slamming onto the metal bottom with a loud ‘thud’, the water drowning out your cries for help as you struggled to keep tuk close to you, coughing and spitting out the salty water at the sudden impact but strong arms pulled you up, face to face with Neytiri, her hands wiping the water out of your eyes, pulling you and tuk close to her chest "oh eywa, thank you great mother" she whispered kissing you softly before pulling you through the tunnels of the ship, water pouring in heavily as tuk clinged to your hip once again, face buried in your neck "mama
.I'm scared" Her voice quivering and shaking as you held her close, walking through the cold water "shhh we'll be okay, stay close to me, okay?" You whispered back with as much of a steady voice you could muster, her little nod was all you needed.
Falling and tumbling through the hallways and rooms, you were now trapped, the tunnel filling in will water, Neytiri held you and tuk close to her, your heart beating fast as you looked around the closed walls, ears flat on your skull, tail swaying as your body starts to tremble, the lights going out one by one making your heartbeat pace faster than rolling winds, your breaths getting cut short and Neytiri noticed your change in behavior, carefully making you look at her by hooking a finger under your chin "ma'y/n, mawey, tiyawn mawey" she whispered caressing your cheek, making you breathe evenly with her "it's okay, yawne, we will get out of this, we will" she whispered, looking in your eyes, her statement firm at the end, tuk looked at your disheveled state "mama, it will be okay" she said kissing your cheek to reassure you.
You tried to calm down but the fear reside, hands shaking, body trembling, head light as feather and bile rising up your throat, you knew something was terribly wrong, neytiri rubbed your back, whispering sweet nothings in your ear to distract you but the water levels were rising, though you were a water na'vi the rising water made you uneasy and nervous, the surface of it was now up to your necks, your breathes coming out in short puffs of air as you held tuk as High above as possible, the three of you huddled together, praying to eywa to get out of here when a sudden bright light filled the space, hundreds of glowing fishes swam towards your direction and soon kiri's head popped up at the end of the tunnel with a big squeal from tuk, happy to see her sister again, even with a smile playing on your lip you knew your state was getting worse and worse and Neytiri saw it as her arm was supporting your waist as she held you close to her.
Getting out of the sinking ship as your group broke the water surface taking deep, enriching breaths of air, reaching payakan slowly, Jake pulled you into his arms, hugging you tightly as his own breaths puffed up, but you couldn't care less, eyes drooping close as your body went limp in his arms, the stress from the confinement and war taking a toll on your body, the only sign of you being alive is your steady breathing and heartbeats thundering in your chest.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
Bright morning rays of the sun filled the entirety of your tent, the war was over but the tension in the environment was still the same, your unconscious body was lying comfortably on a mat, your twin and tsahik working together on getting you back in a conscious state, Kiri rubbing the sole of your feet to keep you warm, Neytiri was worried sick holding your hand in her’s as Ronal had a hand placed on your stomach as her eyes wide while pressing lightly around your abdomen to be sure of what she was feeling, te'yul cringed as he had promised you he'll keep it a secret until you decided it was the right time.
Ronal checked again just to be one hundred percent sure, Jake was pacing outside the tent with Neteyam, Lo'ak and spider trying to sneak inside, Kiri sitting near your feet, rubbing some warmth into them when Ronal looked at neytiri with a vexed expression "Did you know?" her voice angered and upset, Neytiri furrowed her non-existent eyebrows, a big question mark visible on her face "what?!" Ronal was fuming at this point "Did. You. Know?" This time Neytiri was taken aback and even Jake entered the tent from the anticipation of what's going on with Ronal’s raised voices at Neytiri and because his legs were aching from the amount of pacing he did outside, the couple were worried for their mate as you laid with your eyes closed "what's going on?" Jake asked carefully as he saw Ronal's enraged face and demeanor.
Te'yul came in between the budding argument, resting a hand on Ronal's shoulder to calm her down as he faced Jake and neytiri to see their confused expressions, he apologized internally to you for breaking your promise without your permission he was worried for all the reactions he’ll get after this, his tone was tuned down as he spoke "y/n is pregnant
..with twins"
»»————- ♡ ————-««
The whole sully family sat around your sleeping form, Jake's arms wrapped around Neytiri's shoulders comforting her as best as he could, tuk was laying beside you, hugging you close as she slept next to you, her little arms thrown over your torso, kiri, Neteyam, Lo'ak and spider huddled together as they watched you and tuk sleeping together, te'yul sitting in a corner as he worked on some pastes and herbs for you, preparing some syrups for your future symptoms of the pregnancy, waiting for you to wake up soon.
The word of your health spread throughout metkayina like wildfire, everyone's new topic of gossip was your pregnancy, of course this is the first time a child with both metkayina and omaticaya features would be born, that too not one but two babies at once, a miracle by eywa herself, though it was quite predictable given you were a twin and Jake was a twin as well, it was bound to happen.
After a week and a half of no sign of movement your eyes fluttered open, the soft rays of the sunset hitting your irises making them dilate and contract quickly, tuk saw you waking up first, as she refused to leave your side, and squealed running around telling everyone “MAMA WOKE UP! MAMA WOKE UP!” Te'yul immediately coming up to your side as Neytiri and Jake did, ignoring the fact that Jake almost ran over a kid to get to you, you didn't blame him for it, he was worried after all, Ronal was called as they all looked down at you, Ronal and Te'yul working on you as they tried to bring you back to your full consciousness, ronal with her ear pressed to your chest then to your stomach, Te’yul applying a soothing paste to the base of your throat, Jake on the other hand was a nervous wreck, he sent out a message to norm and team to come by, it's not like he didn't trust the metkayina healers or your own brother at that matter but for his own peace of mind.
A few hours later when everyone calmed down and with Te'yul forcing you to drink a bitter syrup with a "it's good for the babies'' which you had no idea what it did, now you were finally relaxing with your family, again the word of you waking up was all around the village but the Sully's didn't care, all they cared about is that you're awake, well and very much alive, Jake almost cried tears of relief when norm said everything was okay with you and your babies, for the family there wasn't anything more happier than you and the babies okay and healthy.
Now that the environment was much calmer not one of them was ready to leave your side, Jake and Neytiri were on your side, tuk cuddled into your chest, kiri in between you and Neytiri, Lo’ak in between Jake and you while Neteyam had his head snuggled on your stomach, being careful so he won’t “hurt” his new baby brothers or sisters, all of you were a tangled pile of limbs and love, Jake would lovingly give you a few kisses while Lo’ak who was in between grimaced and gagged at the sight, Neytiri chuckled and shook her head, snuggling close to everyone she gave tuk a small kiss on her temple as she slept on your chest, this was the best time for the family to be all together, at peace and happy as they all drift asleep as their love for one another floated in the air strong and radiant.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
~ 2 months pregnant ~
You were given complete bed rest for the time being and Neytiri was adamant on not letting you step out of the hammock let alone the mauri, constantly checking over you every two hours, bringing you fruits, soups, and whatnot.
Jake wasn't anything less than Neytiri was, he'd walk into your shared mauri with a worried expression. Run a hand over your slightly swollen belly, give you a kiss on your forehead and if you were awake he’d bombard you with questions for several minutes on end “are you feeling okay, babygirl?” “Do you feel nauseous?” “Does your stomach hurt? Does your back hurt? I can give you a massage if you want”
he’d pestered continuously back and forth in his visits throughout the day, he was worried as twin pregnancies are rare in na’vi, plus the babies being half omaticayan and half metkayian, it added more tension to his growing worry day by day as the pregnancy progressed.
“ma’Jake, I’m fine! I’m pregnant, not dying!” you spoke with a hint of annoyance tracing your voice after his 1000th query of your health and it's not even complete 2 months yet “baby, i know that, but you’re pregnant with MY twins and I’m worried, so its better you answer those questions to me, tiyawn” he whispered in your ear and planted a soft kiss on your temple, you knew there was no escaping his sweet slick words.
Neytiri and the kids were nothing less than Jake, tuk was glued to your side, being the youngest she was mesmerized by your belly and happy that she won’t be the youngest anymore, while neteyan, being used to seeing his mom pregnant with his siblings before, he was just the gentleman to you as his father, always making sure if your comfortable or not, bringing in fresh fruits and meat for you, placing his head on your belly to hear the babies’ heartbeats, while Lo’ak did his best to keep up with the fact that he’s getting not just one but TWO new siblings at the same time, poor boy would cling to you and ask if you’d love him and the others less because you’re getting your own babies now, you’d hold him tight in your arms and reassure him that you’d love him just as much as before and the others, that the babies won’t change it as he opens up to you “mama, i still want to spend our swims together after this” he’d whisper hugging you “of course we will, you and i will have lots of fun once i have your siblings, i’ll even take you to my favorite place” a smirk dancing on your lips as you reassured him and pressed a kiss on his head.
Spider was nervous and intrigued by everything about you, not having met you before he was a little scared if you’d accept him, though Neytiri was reluctant to let him be anywhere near you, she quickly backed down when you reassured her that it was okay, your warm and welcoming smile was enough to let him feel at ease, he grew more attached to you day by day, looking up to you like a mother he never had, you didn’t expect yourself to as protective of him, not knowing whether it was your pregnancy or because he was so small compared to others, you were protective of him immediately.
“Spider, why don’t you sit with me? I’ll put your hair up for you” you’d say with a loving voice he couldn’t ignore, but there was a hint of worry too, he didn’t know the way of the water and you didn’t him to be hurt plus it was nice to have some company, He’d comply every time you asked him though, he wasn’t about to refuse some head pets from you, it’s not even been a few months living with you and he was already calling you ‘mom’ which surely melted your heart every time he called you that “coming, sa’nok” he’d say before coming right up to you with a hug or cuddles, it was his favorite thing to do now, he still kept in mind about your belly before doing so.
Jake was happy to see you and him bonding together, he was nervous on how neytiri would react but it surprised him how quickly she backed down when you asked her to, still he was happy about the fact that spider was finally getting the love and attention he deserved.
~ 6 months pregnant ~
The babies were growing and thriving, while also leaving you at the mercy of their cravings, the night shone bright, the chirping of the creatures outside weren’t doing anything to put you back to sleep, Jake and Neytiri were on your sides sleeping peacefully while you laid awake, mouth watering with the thought of tasting utumauti at such ungodly hour, you looked at jake who was snoring softly, one arm wrapped around your swollen middle while you were using his other arm as a pillow, his bioluminescent freckles glowing bright in the darkness as he slept.
“ma’Jake, wake up
. Please” you whispered to him as you couldn’t help yourself now, you needed to taste it, midnight or not, instead of him Neytiri woke up as she looked at your attempts to wake him “do you need anything, paskalin?” her voice was soft yet rough from the sleep which startled you a bit, now you were a bit embarrassed to say that you were hungry even after eating a big dinner “ohh tiri
 it’s just
um i wanted some utumauti” she chuckled getting up from the hammock “that’s it? You could have asked me sooner, ma’txelan” she said pressing a kiss on your temple before heading outside to get some for you.
In a few minutes she was back with quite a few Utumauti in her arms, keeping silent as she cut them up in cubes while you sat beside her near the fireplace, everything was quiet, all the kids and the village sleeping, the only sounds that could be heard were Jake’s snoring, creatures chirping, waves crashing outside while you munched on the fruit pieces.
“Is that good or do you need more?” her voice was sweet and filled with love as she watched you eat, her hand caressing your back gently, you shook your head “No, this is enough, thank you” your giggle bringing a smile on her face as you had already eaten at least five utumauti by now, she didn’t mind though, she’d bring the whole damn tree if you asked her.
When jake turned in the hammock and felt both you and neytiri out of place, he woke up to the sight of you and Neytiri sitting close together while you satisfied your midnight cravings, she had her arms wrapped around your midsection, he felt a warm feeling build up inside his chest at the scene in front of him, though he wasn’t a part of it, he was still content and happy to just witness it, going back to sleep while the memory played in his mind and a smile lingered on his lips.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
The twins could now move and kick very well, which also made all the sully’s take turn and sit in front of you with their hands on your growing belly, Jake was the most persistent one as he still didn’t get to feel the baby while everyone else felt one or both the babies move or kick, even Rotxo had his turn fulfilled and Jake didn’t, which frustrated the hell out of him.
“Ma’Jake, you can’t force the babies to move if they don’t want to” you spoke as you and Neytiri were holding back your laughs so you wouldn’t frustrate him even more “but they moved for everyone else!” he said in almost a whiny voice as he removed his hands from your stomach.
Your stomach, that now held your twins with a beautiful curve to it didn’t show any movement, he let out an exasperated sigh with a frown looking at your belly, Neytiri decided to tease him more “maybe the babies love their sa’nok and sa’nu more” she said with a smirk as she placed her hand on the top of your belly and to everyone's surprise one of the babies moved under her touch as if agreeing with her, Neytiri in result bursted out laughing not able to hold in any longer, Jake on the other hand frowned even more as you tried to comfort him while trying not to laugh yourself as he crossed his arms across his chest “they’re not even born and they already don’t like me” which only caused Neytiri to laugh more and Jake to roll his eyes at her, you were now stuck with a sulking Jake and overjoyed Neytiri “they will move for you jake, give them some time, sayrip” you said with a smile as he sulked.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
You were having a particularly hard day walking around, back strained, legs and ankles swollen, Jake was the one overlooking you as Neytiri was out for once after being cooped up with you for the period of the entire pregnancy, she went out fishing to try new things, the kids were out as Tsireya invited them the night over at their mauri and Jake couldn’t be more happier to have you all for himself all day and then with Neytiri at night, once again you were restricted to the hammock but this time you were grateful for it, the nap was treating you well after all those sleepless and restless nights, Jake, on the other hand, was preparing a meal for when you wake up, as the day went on you woke up with a slight pain in your abdomen, dismissing it as you got up.
Eating with Jake in a peaceful silence when the pain was getting harder to ignore, your hand instinctively moving towards his hand as a dull yet sharp pain went through your abdomen, which definitely caught Jake's attention “darling, you okay?” his eyes going wide in alarm as he grabbed onto want just happened, forgetting all about the food as he connected the dots, the sudden tiredness, unusual cramps, constant back pains, it was clear you were going into labor, he knew the signs after three times with Neytiri, getting to your side as his rough calloused hand caressed the side of your head “shhh it’s gonna be okay, don’t panic, stay calm and breath okay? I’ll call Ronal and your brother, stay here!” he whispered soothingly as you caught onto the moment and nodded this was it
..you are going to give birth.
After waiting for jake to come back, you were on all fours as you felt the first of the contractions coming which were in no way pleasant, they immediately got to work, easing you in a more comfortable position as the pain and adrenaline starts to kick in, Jake getting behind you as he rubbed your back, kissing your forehead “there you go, hold onto me and relax, deep breathes remember?” he whispered directly in your ear as he tangled his hand in your hair but only one thing ran through your mind “Call Neytiri!! I can’t do this without her!! I want tiri” your cries were heard as someone was sent to get her.
She came running and stumbled back to your shared mauri, bursting through the flaps dropping her bow and arrows in an instance as she got to you “I’m here, I’m here syulang” she said encouragingly as she kissed your forehead, her breaths were quick and short but she didn't care, you were her first priority and the babies, that’s all she cared about.
You were kneeling on the woven flooring of the mauri, your breaths coming in short puffs of air, cheeks red and wet from the efforts as Jake supported you from behind and neytiri was kneeling in front of you, gently caressing your contracting abdomen, kissing your temple lovingly as they both tried to comfort you through the pain, tears flowing down your cheeks as your head was buried in neytiri’s shoulder.
“tiri, it hurts so much, i can’t do this ahh please ughh'' your whimpers were painful for her to hear, she ran a hand through your hair, kissing the top of it “it’ll be over soon, paskalin, you can do this just hold on a little longer” her whispers of reassurance did wonders to calm you down but the contractions that racked your womb pulled another scream of pain from your throat.
you rocked your body back and forth to soothe the pain holding onto neytiri for dear life “ohhh GREAT MOTHER! Why does this have to hurt so much!!!” your cries ringing through the mauri and te’yul let out a chuckle.
“i told you so, it's your fault that you decided to get pregnant and-” a loud groan from you shuts him up “shut the fuck up for moment, you skxwang! I didn’t ask for your opinion right now! I swear to eywa I’ll-” your rant was stopped by Jake as he made you look at him with his finger under your chin, though everyone was surprised at your outburst.
“easy, easy there, sweetheart, take a deep breath with me, i know it hurts but you have to calm down for the babies'' he whispered looking down in your ocean blue eye that now welled up with tears, holding your hand in his as he ran the pad of his thumb over your knuckles then glared daggers at te’yul for his remark while you're twin just shrugged.
you groaned not having the patience to go through all this, Ronal hits te’yul upside his head with a quick reprimand about not to rile a laboring woman, you groan loudly, throwing your head back on jake’s shoulder as you squeezed his hand in a vice like grip while bearing through the contraction “I hate you jake! You did this to me! I hate you so much” you cried, eyes screwed shut in pain, your grip on his hand so tight it sprained his wrist but he didn’t dare to utter a single word against it as he saw the amount of pain you were in was way greater than his sprained wrist, he smiled “I’m sorry, sweetheart, now please concentrate” he whispered, not taking your comments to heart, Neytiri chuckled kissing your forehead and looked at Jake with a smile, she yelled the same things to him while giving birth to Neteyam, Lo’ak and tuk so he was now used to it by now, he didn't mind being the punching bag, verbally and physically.
“Its okay, ma’tiyawn, you can blame him, it's his fault anyways” she said with a smile, adding fuel to the already blazing fire while Jake rolled his eyes at her trying to distract you from the pain as much as possible, but you weren’t in the mood to smile or laugh as the contractions were numbing your thought process.
Ronal had a worried look on her face “let her speak what she want, it's better she if lets it out” as she came up to the three of you with a bowl of dark green liquid in it, kneeling down beside you she brought the bowl to your lips “drink this, child, you’ll feel better, let your body do its thing, do not hold back” you drank the, for once, sweet liquid in two gulps, you tried to relax but it was easier said than done.
Neytiri and Jake did their best to calm you down through your screams of agony, the liquid will take a few minutes to show effect but when it does the moan of relief you let out is louder than any scream you let out before, which earned another fit of chuckles from te’yul while Ronal glared at him this time, even Jake couldn’t hold back his smile at that, you placed your head on Neytiri’s shoulder again as she rubs your back lovingly while Jake holds his hand on your hip, the other sprained one was still being used as a stress ball by you, even while you were in such immense pain te’yul couldn’t help but smile, you were his sister, yes, but he’ll also make puns about this moment when all of this is over.
Ronal walked over to Neytiri as she placed a hand on your shoulder “i think we should go to the hot water springs, the warm water would help her a lot” she said sympathetically looking at your worn out and exhausted state and both Jake and Neytiri nodded in agreement.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
Your twin and Ronal were both working on getting the place ready to help you through the birth but that was still a long way ahead, Jake carried you in his arms bridal style to the springs, your eyes closed, mind clouded with pain as soft mewls left your lips while your nails dug into his shoulder and arms, reaching the pond he slowly lowered your body into the warm water, the liquid immediately helping with the soreness and subside the pain to some extent.
Jake got behind you, once again giving you support to lean on, your body was already drenched in cold sweat before, the beads of water and sweat ran down your skin, Neytiri got into the water as well, standing in front of you as she caressed your cheek, giving you a sweet kiss on your lips as your face scrunched up in agony from the new contractions “shhh you’re nearly there, yawne, just a little more and you’ll meet your babies, breathe ma’txe’lan breathe, in and out” she whispered stroking your swollen stomach and rubbing your back, Jake kissed the nape of your neck “you’re doing so good, sweetie, we’ve already gone through the first half of it, this is the last stretch, i know you can do it” their words of encouragement gave you motivation to push through it, head rolling back on his shoulder, by now you didn’t have it in you to scream anyways, Exhaustion was taking its toll on your body, the soft groans and tears that were rolling down your already wet cheeks were the only signs of your ongoing suffering.
Ronal checked your dilation as Neytiri wiped the sweat and tears from your face and neck, helping you drink some water to keep you hydrated while going through such painful period which she was familiar with but even the simplest act of drinking a sip of water was difficult with the oncoming waves of contractions in your womb, new batch of tears stream down your cheeks as Neytiri wiped them away gently.
Her’s and Jake’s faces were twisted in a frown as they hated to even see you get a scratch let alone to see you writhe in pain like this was making them worried sick by the passing second, Neytiri’s hands massaged your hips to loosen any tense muscles to help the parturition even more, another intense pain ripped through your abdomen as you grit your teeth against it, eyes shut tightly in pain, lips pressed in a thin line and Jake couldn’t see you in pain anymore “okay, this is enough
” he whispered as he brought his queue forward and connected it yours, Ronal tried to say otherwise but the decision was made, Neytiri following suit connecting with the two of you, the full force of the pain now washing over them, Neytiri was accustomed to it by now but still shuddered at the sudden rush of feelings and even when Jake had assisted Neytiri with all her births like this but the feeling of the pain was always unexpected for him.
Now with the queues connected they held you, gently caressing and massaging your body to ease you in any possible way, you felt their calming thoughts filling your mind as your braids connected together "you can do it, tiyawn, just push through it, Love, everything will be over soon, it will be all worth it" Jake's whispers of affection and comfort falling over deaf ears when the first of the twins started to make an appearance resulting in your roars of pain and clutching Jake's already sprained wrist as the first baby started to crown.
Ronal held your legs apart, Neytiri caressed your face and neck, while Jake ran his hand down on your waist as your sobs were clearly heard through the pain "We understand, syulang, we understand, now please push as hard as you can, zola' u niprrte nga prrnen" Neytiri said calmly, guiding you through the pain to push and encourage to bring these children to life.
Hot tears rolled down your cheeks as you gave a push "ngghhhh get them out!!" Your screams of desperation were heartfelt for everyone who heard them, Neytiri's face was full of concern as you screamed "shhh just push the best you can, you want to see them right? You can't give up now that you're so close
.i know it hurts, yawne, i know but you can't lose everything when you're so close, push one more time, for us, for the babies" she whispered softly as you stare at her with a tear soaked face, snort running down your nose as sweat dripped down your scalp, the water washed over to your chest giving you an effect of weightlessness, with a new kind of determination take over your body, you began to push.
The saying childbirth is the worst pain anyone can experience was really starting to become very clear to you now, you grit your teeth taking a deep breath and pushed but soon turned into a scream and then a sob, the burning sensation was too overwhelming, even taking a breath felt like a laboring act, Ronal held your hand gently in hers “shh calm down, calm down
 breath, y/n, breath”
She guided your hand between your thighs, letting your fingers brush against the baby’s head, you stared at her as your expression went from pained to one of awe and longing, the fact that you were so close to meeting your babies, ignited a deep urge to keep going no matter how bad the pain was, after taking a moment to catch up, you beared down with the next contraction, eyes shut tightly, toes curled up as you screamed head bowed down, jake held your hand while you squeezed it, his other arm holding you in place, Neytiri rubbed your back soothingly.
Ronal cupped the crowning head of the baby with her hand when finally the head slipped out followed by your groan, now the time ticked, you had to push to get the shoulders out soon with the next contraction, she urged you to push again, tugging on the baby gently with the next push as your whole body trembled from the effort as the baby’s shoulders passed through the canal with the final push, Ronal and te’yul immediately took the newborn to clean up, your breaths becoming shallow while Neytiri smiled caressing your cheek “there, that’s it, you’re okay” she whispered leaning her forehead against yours.
Jake stroked your waist kissing your forehead gently “good girl, very good, one down one to go” he said softly, currently looking absolutely proud of you as he placed several kisses on your head, tears forming in his eyes “I’m so proud of you, you did so good, just a little more, sweetheart” his words were spoken from shere love and appreciation.
Neytiri was looking at you with just as much pride as jake, patting your cheek when finally a piercing cry rang through the air, grabbing all your attention, the cry was mighty enough to make your heart sore but the pain wasn’t done yet, Ronal coming back in front of you as she held you by your shoulders “a little more and it's done, push when you feel like” but exhaustion made you feel like your head was underwater, even being in the hot spring wasn’t helping that much, head rolling back on Jake’s chest, only getting out of the daze when the burning sensation came back in the nether regions, blinking back your tears as you pushed, this was relatively easier than the first and the second twin came out faster than you expected, which was more than a big relief.
In the most fastest few minutes of your life, Ronal and Neytiri held your daughters in their arms as Jake held you tired body in his, admiring the sight in front of him “You did it, sweetheart, You did it, you’re absolutely wonderful” he whispered as your ears twitched from his warm breath, your tail swishing underwater, a tired smile on your face as you stared at your newborn daughters, your own daughters and you couldn’t be more proud “go ahead, name them sweetie” he said proudly as he caressed your arm and neytiri nodded along “you should name them, paskalin”
After thinking for a few minutes, you came up with a pair of names you thought were the best “Pe’rul and Peyal” your voice strained and rough but the emotions behind it melted everyone's heart as they all agreed that those were good names “those are beautiful name, tiyawn” neytiri said as she brought peyal closer to you and jake and ronal nodded as well, ronal swam forward as well both the babies went quiet as they were laid on your chest, going silent as they felt their mother’s touch, it was a beautiful sight for all of them while te’yul cheered and howled in happiness in the background as he was officially an uncle now as Ronal now carefully bandaged Jake’s sprained wrist while you gave him a apologetic smile in return he just chuckled and pecked your forehead.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
A few weeks have passed since the day of arrival of the twins, the happiness of the clan was quadrupled as the babies were the most miraculous things they have witnessed, azure skin like Jake and Neytiri but soft ocean blue eyes and teal stripes like yours, the combination made the pair look blessed by Eywa herself, lanky and long tails like the omaticaya but slightly broader with a tuft of hair at the tail ends, seemingly they were the most beautiful babies to be seen on the land of metkayina.
If Jake and Neytiri weren’t overprotective before now it was like being smothered in their love, which was more overwhelming than anything, and boy oh boy did Neytiri took care of you after the birth, knowing damn well how down and depressed a new mother can feel after the birth, she did everything in her power to keep you happy, making necklaces, shawls, blankets, tops for you everyday, kissing your postpartum belly, all the stretch marks, massaging your back, making your favorite foods, pampering you in any way possible, she made sure to make you feel like a queen.
While Neytiri takes care of you, Jake and the kids are on the duty to take care of the twins, and eywa bless him, he’s taking that job very seriously, now father of seven, including spider, he was almost delirious at the amount of children he has, to think at one point in his life he gave up hope to ever have the joy of a family of his own and to now with two mates and seven children, oh how things have changed, for good this once.
Overjoyed was an understatement for Neteyam and the gang, two little baby sisters? You bet the protection levels are through the clouds, may the great mother help the person who even looks or breathes at the twins in a wrong way, Kiri held Peyal with the most widest grin possible, while Neteyam held Pe’rul as if she was the most precious thing on pandora and as of now she was, Lo’ak and tuk were in their thoughts as how he won’t be the only middle child and tuk was happy as she won’t be the youngest anymore, for spider, the more siblings the better.
Uncle te’yul made the first song chords for the babies as gift which you then attached it to the band of their tewng, adding a pearl as the memory of their birth to your song chord as well, right next to the bead Jake gave you which symbolized your mating with the couple, plus adding two similar pearls on the twins song chords as a symbol to the start of their journey in this new and amazing world.
The whole family huddled together. You in the middle, Jake and Neytiri on your sides as the twins laid on top of you, Lo’ak and spider beside Jake while Neteyam and Kiri were beside Neytiri, tuk was sandwiched between you and Jake but she didn’t mind, as everyone’s attention was on the newest members of the family while they slept on your chest, Neytiri caressed your cheek and jake went a step ahead, pecking your lips sweetly “we are so proud of you, txe’lan” Neytiri nodding in agreement as all of the others groaned and fake gagged at the public display of affection, tuk and Kiri just giggled, Neteyam laughing his ass off with a loud “Gross” from Lo’ak and spider while you, Jake and tiri burst out laughing, love floated in the air, it was a beautiful beginning, which you'll cherish forever.

╭┈─────── àł„àŸ€àż ˊˎ-╰┈➀ ❝ [06/01/23] ❞
Ever since that fateful incident with the Metkayina clan, Neteyam had grown more attached to you than ever.
You two had always shared a bond that transcended beyond friendship. You yearned for one another, longing for affectionate touches and the chance to lie together in the tranquility of eclipse. To talk for hours on end, whispering sweet nothings in each other's ears.
Those feelings were wrenched out from you both only when he was on the threshold of death, as he drew what you feared was his last breath. You couldn't understand why the love of your life was in your arms, blood pooling from the chest where his heart beat so fervently for you. But, now it would no longer beat at all.
If it weren't for his miraculous survival that dreadful day, you'd swear Eywa was cruel. The feelings you exchanged hung like a heavy weight in the atmosphere between you two, creating tension that could be pierced with a knife. You were hesitant to talk about what you admitted to him, but you tried nonetheless.
Neteyam sobbed into your chest for the first time in a long time, confessing that he was afraid he would never receive the chance to be with you. That as he lived through Eywa, you'd carry on without him and eventually discover a new love. He was however here now, and you weren't going to give him up.
...
When the two of you had come of age, you were rattled by the anxiety that had accumulated in the pit of your stomach. You adored Neteyam, but the prospect of mating with him for the first time made you apprehensive. It left you queasy to be so exposed to him, laid bare without even a single barrier to safeguard you. Neteyam, on the other hand, assured you that he loved you and longed to explore every side of you.
Neteyam purred in your ear with that raspy voice you so loved when the two of you were finally bonded together. He wanted you to be his wife. To cherish and hold you for the rest of his days, and to wake up next to you and see your sleepy face as you roused from your slumber. His affection for you was pure, and it melted your heart.
Of course you said yes, a smile gracing your lips.
...
Neteyam was the sweetest husband you could have ever asked for.
When you awoke, you were snuggled against him, your daughter nestled between the two of your bodies. Neteyam opened an eye, and you grinned as you noted the shadows under his eyes. Your daughter, Ingayn, was a nightmare to get to sleep, and that much was evident on your husband’s face. Laying like this, you were the perfect picture of a family amidst the placid buzz of the morning.
Neteyam caressed your temples with the back of his knuckles, and travelled to your cheeks, tucking a braid behind your ear. Even after years of marriage, you could never get enough of his gentle and loving touches.
You swung an arm over your daughter, searching fingertips skimming against the long-healed bullet wound on Neteyam's rigid chest. Your eyes darted from the scar to his gaze, and he sighed into your palm.
“It feels like so long ago.”
In response, you hummed and traced the shape of his lips. You leant forwards to kiss them as your fingers shifted to rest under his chin. Neteyam smiled into your embrace, and it induced you to feel intoxicated. You could spend the entire day in bed with your gorgeous husband if your duties permitted it, but you knew you had tasks to finish.
Ingayn yawned, and sat up to discover you and Neteyam exchanging loving kisses.
“Ewww, gross!”
She struck her father across the face with the makeshift pillow under you. Neteyam yanked the pillow from her grasp, and you knew Ingayn was absolutely screwed.
She burst into wild giggles as Neteyam snatched her up, and tickle attacked her. You chuckled at the action, and pinched her cheeks when Neteyam pulled away.
He brushed one last chaste kiss against your lips, sighing contentedly. “Okay, I have duties to attend to. I’ll see you later, love.”
You picked up your daughter, and smiled at him. “Have fun.”
Neteyam could only grumble. “Fun is when I’m with you.”
He climbed out of bed reluctantly, and kissed his daughter on the forehead before departing. Knowing that every morning would resemble this made your heart soar. How did you become so lucky?

You sit on the jagged rocks of the Metkayina territory, watching your friends and siblings play and tease each other on the shore and in the ocean water. Your siblings Lo’ak, Neteyam, and Tuk tustled and teased each other with your friends Tsierya and Rotxo. They yelled and hollered, expressing their happiness to be excused from chores, duties or training and be able to have a little fun with each other.
Next to you, your sister Kiri used her nimble fingers to weave a new top for herself. You felt like observing today so you opted to keep your sister company while she worked on her weaving and sat on the shore. The sun shines bright, a warm breeze passing by every now and then. It was a lovely day, and you were thoroughly amused by watching your family and friends play together.
You sit in peace until a figure appears next to Kiri, causing a dark shadow to cast across you, fully blocking you from the sun. You turn your head to look up and you see that its Aonung. At the sight of him you blush.
“Hello, Aonung,” you say, glancing away to look out at your friends splashing about in the ocean. Aonung smiles, watching your cheeks ignite with a light flush. “Hello, y/n; why aren’t you in the water too?”
You shrug, gesturing towards your older sister Kiri. “Someone had to keep Kiri company while she weaves.”
Kiri rolls her eyes, knowing that your coyness is due to your budding affection for Aonung. Aonung walks around you and your sister, placing himself beside you on the rocks. Your breath hitches, the close proximity to Aonung making you nervous. Ao’nung leans towards you, his arms brushing against yours. You feel your anxiety reach its peak, but you try to hide it as best as you can. “Why don’t you go in the water, Aonung?” you ask now that he’s nestled in beside you.
Aonung glaces at you. “Why would I go into the water if you aren’t there too?”
Before you could respond, Kiri makes a gagging noise, inching herself away from you and Aonung. “You guys are so gross.” She mutters, shaking her head. You and Aonung laugh, both amused and embarrassed by your sister’s comment.
From the ocean, however, your twin brother Lo’ak fumes as he watches Aonung seat himself next to you and subsequently laugh with you. While his relationship with Aonung has become better, more civil, he still wants Aonung far away from his twin sister.
“Bro,” Neteyam says, pointing the group’s makeshift ball towards Lo’ak. “Catch this!” But Lo’ak was too occupied with stalking towards the oceans shore, where you and Aonung sit.
You knew that Aonung and your twin brother Lo’ak had issues, in fact you’ve bear witness to their rivalry many times, but you believed that things were calmer, and their relationship was turning more positive now that your family had settled into the Metkayina village and their way of life. However, you were also aware that Lo’ak didn’t like you hanging around Aonung.
“Oh no,” you mutter, as you see Lo’ak approaching you, Aonung and Kiri where you sit on the rocks. Beside you, Kiri peeks up and notices her brother coming her way too. Her eyes flicker down as she prepares to pretend she doesn’t exist, so she doesn’t have to interact with her upset brother and foolish, lovesick sister.
“You,” Lo’ak yells, pointing at Aonung. “Need to stay away from my sister.”
Your stomach twists into a knot as you prepare yourself for a very public showdown between your brother, yourself, and Aonung. Aonung tenses next to you, rising from his seat to confront your angry brother.
“Lo’ak, calm down.” You say, also rising from your seat. “There’s no need to be angry.”
“There is a reason to be angry when someone like Aonung is trying to make a pass on my twin sister.” Lo’ak yells back, still stalking forward. In several steps he meets Aonung, chest to chest.
You’re quick to intervene, wedging yourself in between the two boys. “Lo’ak, stop it. We were just talking.” You say, a hand on both Lo’ak and Aonung’s chest. Now, your other siblings and friends watch from their spots in the water with bated breath, hoping a physical altercation doesn’t ensue, again.
You begin to push your brother back, letting go from Aonung. You pass a glance at Aonung who meets your eye. “Sorry,” you whisper, pushing your brother back further and further. “Lo’ak, let’s go.” You mutter to Lo’ak, grasping his arm. Quickly, Lo’ak flips, grasping your bicep and tugging you off the beach.
“Don’t talk to him again,” Lo’ak says firmly, guiding you off the sandy beach and back into the village. You sigh, glancing back to look at Aonung who stands alone in the middle of the beach and your other siblings in friends who are making their way onto the sand from the water.
You struggle against Lo’ak’s grip, your emotions raging at your twin’s behavior. The day had started out so smoothly, the weather was great, and emotions were happy. Aonung joining you on the rocks only illuminated your feelings, glad to be able to spend time with him and be in presence. Then, Lo’ak had to go and ruin everything.
---
It’s been a day since the incident between Lo’ak and Aonung and to everyone’s amusement, you still haven’t spoken a word to Lo’ak. Your parents, Jake and Neytiri have taken notice as you and your twin normally get along well. They’ve decided to let the two of you parse out your feelings, whenever those rise to the surface, and stay out of it. Although Kiri hardly approves of your affection for Aonung, she attempts to provide comfort to you, mentioning how Aonung spoke about how he wished to spend more time with you. This made you feel better, knowing that Aonung missed you, but that dwindle when you realized you would never be able to spend time with him when Lo’ak always had his eye on you.
Now, you sat in your room, sulking, when Lo’ak entered your room. “Can we talk?” Lo’ak says, setting his bow and arrows down. “I don’t like it when we’re mad at each other.”
You say nothing, turning your body away from your brother who seats himself on you bed. Lo’ak’s tail flicks behind him and he knows that you are mad at him for his actions towards Aonung. He didn’t expect you to understand his issues between Aonung and him, but he did expect you to be on his side, regardless of your understanding. “Y/n, please.” Lo’ak says, scooting himself closer to you.
“What is there to talk about, Lo’ak? You embarssed me in front of Aonung and everyone yesterday.”
Lo’ak sighed, looking down at the floor. “Aonung is not a good person, y/n. His actions against me prove that.”
You toss a glance at Lo’ak, a little sarcastic laugh. “And you haven’t been just as cruel to him?”
Lo’ak hisses, his emotions getting the best of him. “Sister, I don’t expect you to understand but I expect that you stay away from him because of what he’s done to me and our family.”
You gasp, your tail flicking with anger. “No, while Aonung and you have had your problems, Aonung and his sister, their entire family, has done their best to welcome us to their clan.” You say, your voice rising with every word. “And I think what you have to do is get over whatever happened and move on. I want to be able to spend time with Aonung without you breathing over my shoulder.”
Lo’ak fliches at your words and as he opens his mouth to respond, you beat him to it. “I think you should leave.” You say to your twin, annoyed by his presence. Lo’ak listens, taking steps to leave your room.
Several hours later, you walk through the village bringing fish and other foods that you acquired back home. You walk on the path towards your family’s home, balancing the large basket of food in between your arms.
“Let me help you,” A voice says next to you. You look over and see that it’s Aonung prying the large basket from your hands. You blush, allowing him to alleviate the weight you’ve been carrying.
“I’m sorry about my brother yesterday,” You say, feeling the need to apologize.
“Ah,” Aonung says. “He still doesn’t seem to like me very much.”
You laugh, “Lo’ak is unreasonable and stubborn sometimes. I think he’ll come around some day.”
“I hope so,” Aonung says, glancing down at you. “I’d like to take you out sometime without being in fear of my life.”
You blush at his comment. “I’d like that too.”
You reach your house shortly, and Aonung drops the basket at your front door. You expected Aonung to quickly walk away, afraid of Lo’ak spying him from inside the house. Instead, Aonung stands idle, glancing at you. “Would you want to sneak away later tonight, with me, to hang out for a while?” Aonung says hesitantly.
Too quickly, you say, “Yes, I’d love to. Where should I meet you?”
“Where the village meets the forest, maybe around dusk?”
You nod, a big smile across your face. “Okay, I’ll meet you there.” You walked through the threshold of the door, lugging the basket into the house. Tuk is quick to come over, inspecting the food you brought back home. Already, your stomach tingled with anticipation over then evening that’s to come.
At dusk, around nine, you sneak away from your home while the rest of your family begins to wind down. Thankfully, you feel as though your family won’t notice your absence as they are all wrapped up in their various activities. You slink away, weaving through the homes, towards the back of the village. Your hands were slick with nervousness and excitement, your tail twirling with eagerness to see Aonung again.
Once you reach the treeline, you see Aonung sitting on a large boulder. Once you reach him, you wrap your arms around his shoulders, letting his large harms wrap around your waist. It had been a long time since you had been able to be alone with Aonung like this and be able to show physical affection. “I was hoping you didn’t get caught by your parents.” Aonung says
You shake your head. “I’m better at sneaking away then you think.”
Aonung laughs, and you begin to walk deeper into the forest. You converse with each other, catching up on how Aonung is doing with training under his father and his excitement for the future in a leadership position once his father allows him to. Aonung asks about you too and you fill him in on things that he’s missed hearing about.
You and Aonung are deep in conversation as you walk through the trees, too deep to realize that Lo’ak has been following you the entire time. Lo’ak noticed you sneak out of the front door, knowing that you sneaking away was most likely to see Aonung.
“Aonung,” Lo’ak yells again. “I thought I told you to stay away from my sister!”
You turn quickly around to see that Lo’ak was approaching you from behind, and you sigh, not surprised that he had been following you. Aonung turns around, too, putting his hands up in defense.  “Lo’ak, let’s talk this out.”
“There’s nothing to talk about, bro. I told you to stay away from y/n and here you are, sneaking away with her after curfew.” Lo’ak says, angrily.
“Lo’ak..” you say, your voice trailing off.
“Lo’ak, I’m not going to hurt your sister; I really like her. I’d love nothing more then to move past all the issues we’ve had between us so that you can see that I really do care for your sister.” Aonung says, in a calm tone.  You are surprised by Aonung’s calm tone and admire his strength to go up against your irrational twin brother.
Lo’ak crosses his arms, his eyes narrowing and flicking between you and Aonung. Lo’ak’s chest rises with each breath, and you can tell he’s considering Aonung’s words.
“If you hurt my sister as much as one time, you’re dead. Do you understand me?” Lo’ak says, after a moment. You smile knowing that Lo’ak is finally seeing Aonung’s genuine intentions and will finally leave you alone. You also smile because the way Lo’ak threatens Aonung sounds so much like your father, Jake.
Aonung laughs, nodding. “I understand you.”
Lo’ak backs up, stepping away from you. With one last look between you and Aonung, he turns and walks away. You let your breath out that you’ve been holding since Lo’ak approached you out of nowhere.
Aonung turns towards you, as he still laughs shaking his head. “Your brother is something else.”
You laugh too. “He’s just protective of his sisters.”
Aonung reaches out, letting his fingers brush your cheek. “I’m fine with that; I’m just glad I can finally do this.” Aonung brings you close by your hips, leaning down to place a soft kiss on your lips. Your skin sizzles with excitement, a blush creeping across your whole body.
You are pleased that now you can be free to hang around Aonung without fear and that your twin brother, Lo’ak, is finally being rational.

just thinking about mama y/n spoiling her children ack cooking their favorite food, spending time with them, and making sure theyre all loved and seen đŸ„č
My Heart Never Knows
i’m just gonna use this ask for more of these headacannons and also jake and neytiri’s reaction
warnings: swearing
first of all
jake and neytiri are just so happy
like they knew that their kids liked you but they were terrified that wouldn’t transfer over and they wouldn’t like you as their mother
but other than that they’re just so happy
like waking up in the mornings to see tuk had a nightmare and is just sleeping soundly on your chest
tuk calling for you when she’s hurt to do the trick to take away the pain
jake tried to do it once
“it didn’t work daddy. MAMA HELP ME”
lo’ak just literally being your baby
jake and neytiri always so huh????
“MAMA I DIDNT DO ANYTHING”
“it’s ok baby i believe you i love you lo’ak”
“HE LITERALLY THREW A ROCK AT SOMEONE????”
“my baby

.”
jake and neytiri are just so done

“lo’ak and neteyam are your kids, not your soldiers”
*jake’s brain exploding*
“you two are so dumb why did i ever mate with you”
“babe no omg đŸ„ș”
kiri being like “thank god there’s finally someone in this house w a few brain cells”
also jake and neytiri watching in fear as tuk has a tantrum
you not even noticing and just calling her from inside
“ok mama! i’m coming!”
jake and neytiri are so grateful
so confused
but so grateful
also getting annoyed when you spoil your babies
“all i did was unground lo’ak
”
“HES NEVER GONNA LEARN?”
“my precious baby is so smart he doesn’t need to learn anything else
”
or like
“y/n did you let tuk have dessert early”
“yes”
“y/n nO”
also neteyam just randomly having one of those days where a million bad things happen on top of one another
cries to you and you hold him bc obviously đŸ„ș
the next day mysteriously his favorite breakfast is on the table
 😧 and his favorite dinner
 😧
jake and neytiri once walking in on lo’ak with his head in your lap and you singing to him
“huh
”
“i’m giving him the affection you never did.”
“DAMN WE’RE SORRY 😭”
basically everyone loves each other but they all just have a soft spot for their mama
and no matter how annoyed jake and neytiri get they never get mad and they wouldn’t trade this for the world

Hey! I don't know if you’re accepting any requests; if not, you can just ignore this. But i wanted to ask if you could do headcanons on how the sully family was after the reader died in ‘the perfect child’? I’m craving more angst and I love that story so much! 😭
Omg! This is an amazing idea! 💓 I appreciate you reaching out! This does include extras of younger Y/n as well :( which will honestly probably make you very sad cause ugh my heart breaks for her đŸ„Č
The perfect child. Extra. (Sully family x reader)
Nothing hurt the family more than Y/n’s death.
Neytiri dealt with her death the hardest, she was so angry. Her daughter was always willing to put her life on the line because she was trained to
trained by Jake. It’s wrong yes, but it doesn’t mean the memories of Y/n’s worried face doesn’t haunt Neytiri in her dreams..
*
They were in the forest.. Neytiri watched y/n cry and the young girl could feel her stares so she slowly turned around
"don't stare at me like that! cause l'm not a child! I grew up faster than other people, I didn't need a stupid stuffed toy!"
Suddenly the dream went black and eight year old Y/n was standing right in front of Neytiri with cuts and marks on her hand from training so long as tears were falling down her eyes...
Jake's speeches about her having to ‘win’ and be perfect could be heard in the background as Y/n slowly went down to her knees that were already marked up from crawling and hunting in small spaces.
“
please look at me! I'm begging you mama! Don't stop being my mother!"
The yelling of Jake got louder as he began walking towards them and picking up Y/n dragging her away while she struggled to get out of his grip to reach her mother.
"Mama?"
Y/n's cries for help was disoriented like it was hurting her to speak
"Mama, no! Please! Please I’m tired! No more training! No!Stop this please! Stop it now!"
*
Then it was over.
For the first time ever, Neytiri woke up in sweat..her body was heated and she felt ill, turning over and running out the home to throw up..
After awhile she just sat and thought..thinking about the reason as to why her nightmare had y/n with wreaked hand so much that blood was coming out from the deep cuts...
*
Neytiri looked around for her eldest wondering if she could take care of Tuk for a moment and when she did find Y/n
her heart shattered into pieces.
She saw a site of Y/n shooting her arrow repeatedly, quickly beating her speed every time landing precisely..but at what cost? Y/n had a hitched breath as she felt the blood drop down from her fingers that were cut from hours of practice against the bow’s string.
That’s the first time Neytiri realized her child was ok in hurting herself if it meant she’d get her fathers approval
“Y/n!”
The teenager immediately put down her bow, hiding her hands behind her back, sending a smile to her mother
“Show me.”
“..what?”
“Show me.”
Y/n’s heart panicked at the thought of her mother finding out the overworked hours she does for training..instructions straight from her father
“You hurt yourself? Show me. Now.”
The teenager looks down slowly pulling out her hands in defeat..this was normal wasn’t it..? Training like this was normal?..
Neytiri knew Y/n’s thoughts..she knew it was implented in her mind that doing this was normal. However if Y/n felt it was normal
why hide it? Unless she felt slightly guilty..
It’s very true. Y/n felt guilty
not because she trained herself into bleeding..no not that. She felt guilty because no matter the hours she does..she’ll never be perfect and she was scared her mother would think it’s pathetic.
“how long have you been doing that?”
“Mom, I don’t want you to cry. I’m ok-“
“I don’t understand?! Why? Why would you do that to yourself? Is it me? Is it because of me?”
“No mother of course not-“
“Is it your father? He’s hard on you, I know that. I tried to keep you from it! I’ve tried to protect you. I’ve only ever wanted to protect you!”
“Please mother, it’s not because of that, I’m just training and I bleed by accident.”
Neytiri knew there was no changing Y/n mindset. She was so stuck on it being normal that
it was considered and accident.
“My beautiful girl
my special miracle baby girl
why? Why would you do that?”
“
i didn’t mean to
i wanted to stop but I need to get better mother-“
Neytiri got up to hug her child that was holding in tears seeing her mother cry
“
i am so sorry that i missed this
I’m just so sorry Y/n for everything..give it to me. Ok? You give all that pain and stress to me. I Can handle it
”
Y/n struggled to hold in tears in her mothers arms feeling overwhelmed...
*
See
a mothers love was like no other. Y/n was absolutely broken, and Neytiri broke with her knowing there was not much she can do for the damage was already done..
Jake listened to the wind blow knowing his wife was outside..his heart hurt. His “strong heart” felt empty and broken..he and Y/n had a strong relationship when they were younger ..something like he had with Kiri and tuk now. Yet he failed to maintain it because he was too stupid to notice how he was overworking his kid.
His heart had some kind of longing that he wished he was able to fix if he has just listened to Neytiri soon..if only he had just let her finish the heart breaking story of Y/n training so hard she’d hurt herself..
*
Neytiri’s pleads started when she noticed her husband walking out the home at the usual training time.
“No Jake you can’t! You cannot do this to her! Please stop training.”
Jake couldn’t hear it anymore, not when he knew Y/n was slacking and sleeping at their training spot waiting for him
exhaustion and for what? She never trained
or at least that’s what he believed.
“Neytiri please. Stop. You will not prevent her from practicing. She needs to get better-“
Jake turned his back to Neytiri waving off a hand like he was telling her ‘whatever.’
“Jake! You walk out that door and make our daughter train one more time today and I will not. hesitate to take our children tonight..you can decide the rest.”
Her husband turned harshly to Neytiri’s threats. He figured if he just listened to her for a little then she’d give up on whatever fight she was holding against him so Y/n couldn’t go to practice.
“
I can’t sit by and watch this destroy my child anymore. You can’t steal her passion. You can’t steal her self confidence. My lines been crossed. Your approval isn’t worth it for her and it’s definitely not for me.”
Jake closed his eyes in order to calm himself and settled on the fact that Y/n wouldn’t practice
at least not today.
-*
Seeing Y/n happy during her younger days felt like a fever dream and her death plays over and over in his head
he wished and wished on a shooting star that he can relive the moments they shared before she passed
they were supposed to go flying the next day..the day she died.
The reason why Jake wanted to make Y/n strong and fearless was because he saw the fear in her eyes at a young age
so much desire to travel the forest but absolutely shaken up by a moment they both were vulnerable in..
*
Typically they were never in the dangerous areas but Y/n had wondered off and Jake found her in a ship that was once used for the old war against the sky people.
“Y/n what are you doing here?! You are not allowed in these areas do you read me?!”
The child gently tugged her father in the large abandoned ship, ignoring his instructions
at this time she was just 4.
“Sully’s stick together daddy! That means you have to follow me!”
The young girl giggled while Jake admired the child who was amazed by the ship but he knew it was only a matter of time before they must go.
“This was used during the war..”
Y/n didn’t quite understand what that meant but the warrior equipment always amazed her.
“
ok we should get going kid-“
A thantor had rushed in head first straight to the ship and Y/n’s shrieking could be heard..her fear and the thantor could smell it.
Her terror gave it more energy as it shook the ship again and Jake held onto Y/n, looking everywhere to escape.
That was until the Thantor hit the ship so hard both of their heads hit into a thick material and they passed out.
10 minutes had past and the thantor wasn’t giving up..Y/n had woke up before Jake. Her heart skipped a beat seeing its claws finally break through the thick metal. She immediately shook her father, searching for his protection.
“Daddy? Hey. Hey!”
That moment was absolutely horrifying, she didn’t know if her father was even alive from the hit
it was all her fault.
“
what?”
Jake woke up deranged confused and forgotten on his surroundings..
“Get back baby, get back.”
Y/n closed her eyes and curled into herself while Jake stabbed at the claws of the animal harming it, making it easier to kill with a bullet. He went through the other side and when he saw Y/n..saw the way she cried, how her body shook, the silent and muffled whimpers from her covering her mouth
it was enough to make him upset. He was mortified.
“I’m here baby! Cmon! Let’s go now.”
Y/n couldn’t move
Jake couldn’t snap her out of it..she almost died, and for a small moment she believed her father died.
Eclipse approached right in that moment and Jake’s fear for Y/n grew larger

“You have to be strong Y/n
cmon let’s go now! It’s dark and more creatures are coming.”
His patience was running up while he heard raspy howls like the ones he met on his first night in the forest and that’s when adrenaline rushed through him..he didn’t even realize the bruise and blood forming on her small leg from hitting into the ships wall.
His arm reached out for her but Y/n put him to a stop
“I can’t! I can’t! My leg hurts! Daddy help me!”
Jake yanked her up and pulled her over his shoulder as he ran through the forest all, he thought about was how it was his fault she didn’t know how it was in the real world.
-*
Jake had never seen that type of fear ever again
not until her last moments.
inside she was screaming, feared, holding those same exact eyes as she did when she was younger

Yes, her parents had a difficult time..but there was a particular sibling who stayed up listening to the way his mother rapid movements to get fresh air out the house or the way his father had a hitched breathing
the same one Y/n had during her last breaths..almost like he was unintentionally mimicking it while he thought about her death.
Neteyam was Y/n’s closest sibling. He knew never to poke her, interrupt her during training or question her all the time the way Lo’ak did. Y/n understood where Neteyam stood perfectly..the younger sibling the second eldest who took at least a small portion of the blame when it came to Lo’ak and the rest of the kids troubles
but now he was the eldest and there was a small fear of him having the same pressure and weight Y/n had.
He’ll never forget watching his parents clean her body..seeing how his father could no longer hide his emotions, sobbing. He will never forget the way Neytiri held Y/n’s face begging for her eyes to open and look up at her again.
Neteyam knew her death traumatized him but not the way it did to his younger brother. Neteyam turned to Lo’ak hearing him shift repeatedly in his sleep as his hands curled in creating a grip

Lo’ak couldn’t sleep properly not without Y/n’s death replying in his head
while he slept his body would repeat the same actions it did when he was holding down to Y/n’s wounds absolutely disassociated. Lo’ak was the only one who saw her hidden in the forest when he heard her calling. It was obvious to him that it was no longer her, something took over her
she wasn’t thinking clearly..not when she saw them tied up. When she died he didn’t even bother cleaning the clothes that had her blood on it..he threw it out. As much as he teased Y/n..Lo’ak loved her and that was his way of showing it. Mean? Yes. But nothing would get through Y/n, no matter how much small comments he made it never made her realize how she needed to get loose and forget her fathers instructions every once and awhile.
His teasing never stopped Y/n from doing the same, there was rare moments but she’d alway get back at him with a joke. Surprisingly Y/n was the funniest out of everyone, she didn’t say much either but when she did it made everyone laugh. The way the two siblings joked was their love language to each other

Kiri and Y/n had a very different relationship from the two boys who she spent most of her time with. Kiri had very few moments when Y/n was vulnerable with her but she saw right thought her.
all she wanted was to have everything her siblings had..
not expecting to be perfect all the time.
being able to mess up.
being comforted when messing up.
being able to forget training.
never thinking their father is going to hate them.
not expecting to win all the time.
not seeing everything as a competition.
Kiri understood Y/n fully, she got upset at her father every time he made her cry. In fact Kiri always cheered her mother on when she defended Y/n. Even In the toughest moments Y/n didn’t cry
she was seen as perfect. A tough strong girl. Is she though? Is she as strong as she poses to be? She isn’t. She isn’t allowed to show her emotions because she will be seen as weak. But from Kiri’s point of view Y/n was very independent, she admired it. The clan considered Kiri strange since the day she was born but Y/n made sure no body would get to her.
All three siblings always wanted to beat the ‘favorite child’ but it wasn’t until now they realized Y/n was just who got caught in the crossfire of their parents fear of losing their child. There was a reason why her parents put so much pressure on her and it’s because she was their first child, she made Neytiri a mother and made Jake more responsible. They obviously didn’t know weather their choice for her were wrong or right, but in those moments it felt necessary, they believed if they made her strong she’d protect herself and the family.
Tuk however
she didn’t see Y/n as the favorite
maybe she was her favorite sibling! But she was not her fathers favorite or her mothers favorite. Tuk never quite understood her parents relationship with Y/n, thought she never paid any attention to it. The little girl did know that she got annoyed anytime she was yelled at and would still take the blame
In the background of y/n’s punishment you can hear Tuk’s little voice telling her father she didn’t do anything wrong! Tuk never failed to make Y/n laugh and they’d have the best time when Y/n took care of her..
Both sisters, Kiri and Tuk laid in Y/n’s hammock that night. They were tucked and tangled in the same way they were when they witnessed Y/n die. Sometimes the memories play quickly out of nowhere in their head..they would see the panicked looked on everyone faces..hear Y/n’s hushed words.. see the damp soil soaked in their sisters blood.
The entire family was hurt by her death but they knew one thing that Y/n always made clear.
“Sully’s stick together”

- Lorre, will you go with me today? I want to feed the Ilus! Tuk’s voice rang through the Sully Marui, The room’s energy shifted as everyone turned to watch, them.
Lorre loved spending time with Tuk, and feeding the Ilus was always something she enjoyed. They were gentle creatures, responding so sweetly to Tuk’s energy, and it always warmed her heart.
But today, Lorre had already made plans with Ro’uk, his mate Ka’ali, and their child. They were heading to Ta’unui village, and as much as she hated to disappoint Tuk, she couldn’t back out now.
A wave of uncertainty washed over her as she realized she’d have to ask Neytiri and Jake for permission first. It was still a strange feeling, having to check in with someone before going anywhere.
Back when it was just her, she did what she wanted, and made her own decisions. But now, part of this family, there were expectations, rules—something she wasn’t quite used to.
She swallowed, gathering herself as Tuk stared at her, expectant and hopeful. Lorre wanted to say yes, to see that big smile light up Tuk’s face, but she knew she couldn’t.
- I wish I could, Tuk. Lorre said softly, crouching down to meet Tuk’s level. - But I made plans today. Ro’uk invited me to the Ta’unui village with his mate and their child.
Tuk’s nose scrunched in confusion. - Ro’uk? Who’s that?
Before Lorre could explain, she felt Neytiri and Jake’s eyes on her. Their silence was heavy, waiting for her to fill in the gaps. She stood up, her fingers fidgeting as she faced them. She wasn’t used to asking for approval, but this was her life now.
- Ro’uk is from the Metkayina village.. she began, her voice more hesitant than she wanted it to be. - He and his family invited me to visit Ta’unui today. I... wanted to ask if it’s all right.
Jake’s eyes narrowed just slightly, protective as always. - Ro’uk? We haven’t heard about him.
Neytiri remained quiet but her gaze was intense, studying Lorre as she spoke. Lorre cleared her throat, trying to explain.
- He’s... a friend. she said, hoping that would ease some of the tension. - He and his mate Ka’ali—uh, they have a child, and we’re just visiting the village. He thought it would be good for me to go with them.
Jake folded his arms, still weighing the situation. - And why Ta’unui? What’s this trip for?
Lorre shifted on her feet, feeling the pressure of their concern. She had faced worse situations, but this was different—more personal. - I’m not sure exactly. Ro’uk mentioned having something to take care of there, and he invited me along.
Neteyam, who had been listening quietly, stepped closer, concern softening his voice. - Are you feeling okay, Lorre? After that headache you had a few days ago, you still seem a little off.
Lorre blinked, surprised he remembered. She touched her temple absentmindedly, feeling the faint remnants of that nagging pain. - I'm fine now. she reassured him. - It’s gone, really.
He studied her for a moment, then gave a small nod. - Just making sure.
Jake, meanwhile, exchanged a look with Neytiri. Though he trusted Lorre, they hadn’t met Ro’uk or his family, which made him cautious.
After a brief silence, he exhaled deeply. - It’s a long way. You’ll need to be careful, especially since we don’t know them.
- I will. Lorre promised, her voice steadier now. - I’ll stay close to them the entire time.
Neytiri’s gaze softened just slightly, but her maternal instinct was still present. She stepped forward, placing a hand on Lorre’s arm. - Be back before eclipse. she said gently.
Lorre felt warmth flood her chest at the gesture, even if there was still a sense of protective caution behind their approval. - I will. she said, offering a small, grateful smile.
Tuk, still standing there with wide eyes, tugged at Lorre’s arm. - But you’ll come feed the Ilus with me tomorrow, right? she asked. - They love when you come. Especially Nami, she likes swimming together.
Lorre laughed softly, brushing a hand over Tuk’s head. - Of course, tomorrow is all about the Ilus.
Tuk grinned widely, all her previous disappointment gone. - Okay! You better come!
As Lorre walked out of the Marui, the warm sun and gentle breeze hit her face. Neteyam and Lo’ak followed behind her as they prepared for their own plans. Neteyam stopped beside her, his eyes still thoughtful. - Just be careful. he said, giving her a soft smile.
Asking permission was still strange, but there was also something comforting about knowing they cared enough to be protective. It made her feel like she was loved, even if she wasn’t quite used to it yet.
Lorre smirked, bumping his arm lightly. - I’ll be fine, Neteyam.
Lo’ak, trailing behind, chimed in with a teasing grin. - You’re going to have to tell us more about this Ro’uk guy when you get back.
Lorre laughed, shaking her head. - We’ll see.
Lorre approached the water where her Ilu, Nami, waited, its sleek body shimmering in the light. She could feel the familiar bond between them, strong and reassuring. As she mounted with ease, Nami responded instinctively, the connection between them seamless.
The water beneath them shimmered as they began to move, the smooth gliding rhythm of Nami through the sea felt calming
As she swam near the shore, she spotted Ro’uk with Ka’ali and their son. Ro’uk stood tall beside his Tsurak, while Ka’ali balanced their child in her arms. Lorre caught Ro’uk's eye, and he waved before helping Ka’ali settle onto her Tsurak with their child.
- Lorre! Ka’ali greeted, her voice bright but edged with anticipation. - Finally ready to go? Can’t keep us waiting all day. she teased, though her tone was lighthearted.
Lorre smiled, sliding off her Ilu, feeling a gentle warmth from Ka’ali’s words. - I wouldn’t dream of it. she responded, her eyes glancing toward the horizon, then back at them. - How’s he doing? she asked, nodding toward their son, now comfortably seated in Ka’ali’s arms.
- Strong as ever. Ro'uk added with pride, as Ka'ali grinned and kissed the top of their son's head. - He’s going to outgrow us before we know it.
- I bet. You have a beautiful son. Lorre smiled, looking at the small Navi boy holding onto his nother
- Well, what did you expect? Ka’ali said, her tone brimming with confidence. - I only create perfection. She winked before directing her focus back to their son. - Rai’to.

Once everyone was ready, they mounted their Tsuraks and Ilus, pushing through the waters toward the Ta’unui village. The water beneath them changed in depth, the currents subtly shifting, as the light breeze ruffled the surface.
As they swam, the once-clear sky began to shift. A cool mist rolled in from the horizon, turning the once-bright blue of the sky into muted shades of gray. The water around them mirrored the sky, growing darker, the light refracting through the fog in broken patterns.
The village loomed ahead, half obscured by the mist. It seemed ethereal, as though it had appeared out of nowhere, swallowed by the sea and now emerging from it once more.
The closer they got, the more details of the Ta’unui village emerged through the haze. The huts were raised on sturdy stilts, woven intricately from large fronds, and the large roots of mangrove trees jutted up from beneath the water.
As they arrived, they were greeted by the Ta’unui Tsahik and Olo’eyktan, standing tall at the edge of the village’s main platform.
The Olo’eyktan, a broad and imposing figure, had a quiet intensity about him. His chest was adorned with intricate beadwork and woven garments that framed his strong shoulders.
Beside him, the Tsahik radiated warmth. Her robes were decorated with rich, earthen colors, and her hair, styled in intricate braids, carried a faint sheen, catching the little light that made it through the mist.
They dismounted from their animals, the cool fog brushing against their skin as they walked toward the platform. Lorre’s gaze met the Tsahik’s first, a nod exchanged in mutual respect, malimg her suddenly remember her first time coming to the Metkayina village.
As Lorre looked around the Ta’unui village, a heavy feeling settled in her stomach, making her aware of how out of place she was. She was the only forest Na'vi here, surrounded by water-dwelling Na'vi who eyed her with curiosity.
Their vibrant blue and green skin glimmered in the soft light, adorned with intricate jewelry and colorful beads that danced with every movement. Lorre felt like a shadow against their brightness, an awkward leaf lost in a colorful ocean.
A wave of doubt washed over her, bringing back memories of her first visit to the Metkayina village. She remembered Ronal’s sharp gaze, the way the Tsahik had looked her over with disdain. Lorre felt the sting of shame wash over her again, the feeling of being judged, of being seen as different, as lesser.
Hiding her hands behind her back, she tried to suppress the urge to curl in on herself. She didn’t want to show her five fingers, a reminder of her differences, a mark of her inadequacy.
Around her, villagers moved about, chatting and pointing at her, their voices a blend of melodies and rhythms that felt both welcoming and overwhelming. But every smile felt like scrutiny, every giggle felt like a reminder that she didn’t belong.
The crowd felt too close, their curious gazes like tiny knives poking every side of her. She took a shaky breath, her heart racing, and the urge to slip away into the safety of the water grew stronger.
Then, a small hand slipped into hers, breaking through her spiral of self-doubt. Rai’to stood beside her, looking up with a soft smile on his small face. His hand was warm and small in hers, a stark contrast to the anxious cold creeping into her heart. He squeezed her fingers, grounding her in that moment
Lorre’s heart swelled, a mixture of relief and affection washing over her. She felt a smile break through her earlier tension, as if Rai’to’s confidence was contagious. He was so small yet so brave, standing beside her without a hint of doubt in his eyes. With him there, she felt a flicker of courage. Maybe she wasn’t as alone as she thought.
- We welcome you. the Olo’eyktan spoke, his voice deep but calm. - It is an honor to have you here.
Lorre glanced at Ka’ali, who gave a subtle bow, maintaining a confident smile as she held her child close. Ro’uk stood beside her, his expression calm but vigilant, eyes scanning the village for any sign of unrest.
- Your village is beautiful. Lorre said, her voice soft but carrying a sincerity that was hard to miss. She glanced around, taking in the architecture, more people who had started to emerge from their huts to observe the visitors.
- Thank you. the Tsahik replied, her voice softer but just as strong. - We have much to discuss, but first we must let you rest.
────────
Lorre sat cross-legged on the colorful mat, taking in the calming surroundings of the Ta’unui village hut. The older Na'vi beside her, an elder named Sa'ketu, shared stories of the old days with a soft, nostalgic tone. The rhythm of her voice was soothing, filling the space with a warm sense of history.
- Ah, Jake Sully. Sa'ketu said, her expression lighting up at the name. - Toruk Makto. You are lucky, forest girl, that he has adopted you. Her eyes were kind but also knowing, and Lorre felt a small weight in her chest. Sa'ketu leaned closer, lowering her voice slightly. - Your parents
they are with Eywa now. I am sorry you did not know them, child.
Lorre swallowed, her throat tightening. She had no words to offer back, only a nod, as the familiar ache of loss stirred inside her. She quickly tucked her hands beneath the folds of her arms, trying to hide the five fingers that marked her out as different.
Sa'ketu’s words stirred memories of when she first arrived at the Metkayina village, how Ronal had scrutinized her, made her feel alien among them.
Just right outside, the sounds of the village buzzed—footsteps, hushed conversations, and children laughing. Yet the subtle glances she caught from the other Na'vi made her feel like she was under a constant gaze of curiosity.
Though the people of Ta’unui were less harsh than her first encounter with the Metkayina, Lorre couldn't leave the feeling of not belonging alone.
But just as the tension began to rise within her, she felt a small hand slip into hers. Rai’to, Ro'uk and Ka’ali’s son, had silently reached out to her.
His innocent and clueless gesture was enough to bring her a sense of calm again. He didn’t say a word, but the warmth of his hand in hers felt like quiet reassurance.
She would never admit the truth about her parents—that they were sky people, invaders to this world. The shame of it kept her silent. It was a secret she carried heavily, the kind that weighed on her more than anything else. Lorre simply nodded again as Sa'ketu continued, her thoughts tangled in the silence she couldn't break.
Sa'ketu, unfazed, carried on with her stories, the conversation flowing gently like a river, bringing Lorre a strange comfort despite the weight of her hidden truths. Even here, surrounded by strangers, she felt the pull of Eywa, a reminder that she still had a place in this world, even if she didn’t fully belong.
Suddenly, a loud, unfamiliar noise echoed through the village, causing everyone in the marui to freeze. Lorre, sitting beside Sa'ketu and young Rai’to, instinctively stood up as she glanced toward the entrance. The sharp hum of something mechanical filled the air, unsettling against the natural sounds of the village.
Lorre moved cautiously, holding Rai’to’s hand to keep him close as she peeked outside the marui. Squinting against the sunlight, she saw it—a massive water ship, unlike anything she had seen before, slowly gliding toward the village.
Its metal body contrasted sharply with the natural beauty of the ocean. Behind it, two smaller flying ships hovered, circling like predators. Though she didn’t fully recognize the technology, the look of the vessels sent a chill down her spine. Sky people.
The Ta’unui villagers began to gather at the shore, murmurs of confusion rippling through the crowd. The Olo’eyktan and Tsahik rushed forward, approaching the people, gesturing for calm.
Lorre ducked back inside the Marui, her breath uneven as she tried to process the sight.
Sa’ketu, still seated, glanced at her with sudden suspicion when her eyes lingered over her five fingers. - Strange machines. the older Na'vi commented softly, her gaze calm but sharp.
Lorre didn’t respond, gripping Rai’to’s hand a little tighter. She hid deeper within the marui, just barely peeking out to see what would happen next. Her mind raced with fear—fear of the sky people and the memories they carried.
Beside her, Rai’to squeezed her hand gently, sensing her tension. - They come from the sky, don’t they? He finally asked, his voice quiet, though it trembled slightly.
Lorre nodded, her eyes narrowing as she studied the approaching ships. She swallowed, her gaze shifting back to the growing crowd outside, and the ominous ships that loomed on the horizon.
The ship loomed ominously, its metallic form casting a shadow over the Ta’unui village, its engines growling like a wild beast. Lorre’s heart raced in her chest, each thud echoing the fear that gripped her. The sudden sound of the ship docking was like thunder, shattering the quiet morning and drawing every villager’s attention. She felt a sense of dread creep into her bones as she peeked from behind the Marui, her instincts screaming for her to hide.
The entrance opened with a booming thud, releasing a cadre of Na’vi soldiers clad in harsh uniforms. Their faces were cold, eyes steely, devoid of the warmth and spirit that characterized her people.
Following them were the sky people, clad in bulky exosuits that mimicked the Na’vi height, the mechanical joints creaking ominously. They moved with purpose, an unsettling blend of human and Na’vi, and each step they took sent chills down Lorre’s spine.
The crowd around her began to murmur, their expressions shifting from curiosity to fear as the soldiers approached. The familiar warmth of the sun was swallowed by an encroaching fog of uncertainty. She felt small, insignificant, as she hid behind the marui, her heart pounding loudly in her ears.
Without hesitation, the soldiers swept through the village, their presence invasive and brutal. They ransacked maruis, tossing aside woven baskets and everyone’s belongings.
The destruction was mindless, a grotesque display of power. Lorre’s stomach churned at the sight of her people’s lives being dismantled so carelessly.
- We’re looking for weapons! one of the soldiers shouted, his voice striking a familiar chord deep within her, a sound she wished she could forget. Her heart sank as she clutched the woven mat beneath her, trying to steady herself.
The Olo’eyktan and Tsahik were forced forward, Lorre’s breath hitched in her throat as the soldiers forced them to their knees.
Quaritch walked in front, striding forward with a confidence that felt menacing. He scanned the village like a predator searching for its prey, his presence thick with intimidation.
Lorre's heart sank as she realized who stood in front of the chief and his mate—her father. She gasped, fear flooding her veins. Instinctively, she shrank back, the colorful surroundings of the hut suddenly feeling stifling. The knowledge that he was so close made her want to disappear.
- Lorre, are you alright? Sa'ketu asked, her voice gentle with concern as she noticed the look of fear on Lorre's face.
The older Na'vi shifted closer, her hands resting softly on Lorre’s arm as if trying to ground her. Lorre’s chest felt tight, her breath shallow as she stared out at the figures moving through the village. Her pulse hammered in her ears, and her body remained rigid, barely able to focus on anything but the looming presence of Quaritch outside.
- Stay calm, child. Sa'ketu whispered, glancing towards the entrance. - If they see you like this... they’ll know. They’ll know you don’t belong here. Her voice was firm, a reminder of the danger, but also of safety if Lorre could keep still.
Lorre swallowed hard, her throat dry, and forced herself to breathe. Quaritch was out there—her father, a man she had never wanted to face again. It felt as if the walls of the marui were closing in, but Sa'ketu’s presence beside her, calm and steady, kept her from spiraling further.
- Don’t draw attention. Let them pass. You must stay hidden. Sa’ketu added, her voice a soothing lull amid the panic swelling in Lorre’s chest. The elder’s fingers lightly squeezed Lorre’s arm, a small gesture of reassurance, as though she could anchor Lorre through the storm swirling outside.
Lorre shifted, her heart racing as she spotted her brother, Spider, standing next to Quaritch. He was there, caught up in this chaos, translating for Quaritch since the man couldn’t fully understand the Na’vi language. Her stomach turned—he was part of this, willingly or not, and it made her feel sick.
The ship loomed over the village like a storm cloud, its presence casting a heavy shadow. Quaritch stood at the forefront, holding up a screen that showed the image of a man. His voice rang out sharply, cutting through the air. - This man. We know he is in these islands.
Lorre could hardly breathe as she watched from the shadows of the marui, her pulse pounding in her ears. The Na’vi around them were confused and frightened, gathering in small groups as the soldiers were pushing people to their knees, rough hands grabbing at anyone in their path.
Ro’uk and Ka’ali were among them, forced down by the soldiers. Lorre's chest tightened as she saw Ro’uk resist, his jaw clenched in anger, trying to shield Ka’ali. The taser stick jabbed at Ka'ali made her snarl, but she held her ground, fierce as ever.
Lorre’s breath hitched. The soldiers moved through the marui, smashing belongings, throwing items aside as they searched for something—or someone.
Lorre’s eyes flickered to the Olo’eyktan and Tsahik. They stood at the front of the crowd, defiant but calm. The Olo’eyktan’s voice was steady, his posture unshaken. - Here? This village? he asked, his tone controlled.
Spider quickly translated the Olo’eyktan’s words to Quaritch. - They never saw him. They are sea people: forest people don’t come here. Spider explained, his voice tense. Quaritch didn’t look convinced, his scowl deepening.
The Olo’eyktan spoke again, his voice unyielding, but calm. - He needs to leave and go to the forest to find this man.
- Mawey, mawey. Spider tried to calm the situation, his voice strained with desperation as he turned to Quaritch, his hands trembling slightly. - They don't know anything.
But Quaritch had already lost his patience. His face twisted with frustration as he pursed his lips and without hesitation, pointed to one of his soldiers, - Shoot that animal.
He pointed to the llu swimming peacefully near the surface, unaware of the danger. Its sleek form glided through the water, waiting for its rider.
Lorre's breath caught in her throat. Her eyes followed the line of his finger, and her heart froze.
Nami.
- No. she whispered, her voice barely audible. But it was too late. The soldier raised his weapon and fired without hesitation. The sound of the shot was deafening, echoing across the water.
Lorre's world shattered in an instant.
The bullet hit Nami with precision, and the Ilu let out a high-pitched, agonizing scream before falling still. Her graceful body thrashed once, her blood staining the water, before floating lifelessl.
A scream tore from Lorre's throat before she even realized she was moving. - NAMI! Her legs carried her forward, propelled by raw instinct, ignoring the desperate calls from Sa'ketu and Rai'to behind her.
Her vision blurred, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face as she reached the water's edge. - Nami! she cried again, her voice broken, filled with a pain so deep it was unbearable. Her knees hit the wet sand, and she tried to crawl into the water, desperate to reach her llu, desperate to hold onto her.
But before she could make it, a soldier grabbed her roughly by her kuru, yanking her back. She screamed in pain, her body collapsing from the force.
- Nami, please! NO! Her voice was hoarse, choked with sobs as she struggled against the soldier's grip, her arms outstretched toward the water, toward the spot where Nami’s lifeless body was floating.
Her cries cut through the silence, shattering the stunned stillness that had gripped the village. The Na'vi villagers looked on in horror, their eyes wide with fear, but none dared to move. Guns were now trained on them, the cold steel pressed to their heads, a threat hanging in the air.
Quaritch's heavy boots crunched in the sand as he walked toward her, his gun slung casually over his shoulder. He stopped in front of Lorre, towering over her as she lay crumpled on the ground, sobbing for her llu.
- You see what those can do? he said, his voice dark and mocking as he gestured to the gun.
Lorre's eyes blazed with fury through the tears. - You monster! she spat, her voice trembling with rage. Her hands clawed at the ground as she tried to rise, but before she could, the Na'vi soldier yanked her kuru again, hard enough to send another wave of agony through her. She cried out, her whole body convulsing in pain, but the fire in her eyes didn't dim.
Quaritch's eyes narrowed as he stepped closer, his cold gaze locking onto Lorre's tear-streaked face. The sight of her anguish seemed to amuse him, but something else caught his attention. His head tilted slightly, curiosity flickering in his expression.
- Show me her fingers. he commanded, his voice sharp and impatient.
The Na'vi soldier, who still gripped Lorre's kuru painfully, paused only for a moment before roughly yanking her hand forward.
Lorre winced as her arm was pulled, her trembling fingers forced into the open, displayed like an ugly secret that was never meant to be shared.
Her hand shook as the five fingers came into view-human-like, betraying her heritage in a way that sent a shiver of shame down her spine. The soldier stretched her fingers wide, as if presenting them for judgment.
- Five fingers. Quaritch muttered under his breath, his lips curling into a cruel smirk. - Just like your father.
Lorre's heart seized in her chest. The words hit her like a physical blow, stealing the breath from her lungs. Her stomach churned, dread twisting inside her. Father?
He had no idea-Quaritch had no idea she was his daughter, and neither did she want him to know. But here he was, the man who had unknowingly fathered her, mocking her existence like it was some sort of joke. Her mind raced, the realization both sickening and infuriating.
From across the chaos, her brother Spider stood frozen, his wide eyes darting between the villagers and Quaritch, desperately trying to calm the people of Ta’unui. His voice, though shaky, carried through the tense air as he translated, attempting to reason with both sides. But no one was listening—not the villagers who glared at the invaders with barely-contained fury, and certainly not Quaritch, whose patience was rapidly thinning.
Lorre’s eyes shifted, catching sight of Ro’uk and Ka’ali nearby. They were forced to their knees along with the rest of the village, Ka’ali’s lips pulled back in a fierce snarl as a Na'vi soldier held a weapon to her neck.
Ro’uk’s entire body was coiled with tension, his protective instincts flaring as he glared at Spider, his muscles twitching with the need to act, to defend. He hissed at the human boy, his tone thick with anger as he shouted something Lorre couldn’t hear over the clamor.
Ka’ali growled in response to a shove from the soldier behind her, and Ro’uk’s chest rumbled with barely-contained rage. They were both restrained, forced to stay down, but their eyes never left the faces of their captors.
Lorre’s eyes caught another sight that sent a fresh wave of panic through her— Rai’to, pushed harshly to the ground, let out a pained cry, his small hands scrambling for the elder’s arm as Sa’ketu fell beside him. The elder tried to shield him, but the force of the soldier’s shove had sent them sprawling in the dirt.
Behind them, villagers huddled in groups, fear and defiance mingling in their faces as they clutched their children and whispered hurried prayers to Eywa. Some of the younger Ta’unui Na’vi watched helplessly, their eyes filled with terror. The air was thick with tension, punctuated by the sounds of weapons clattering and voices raised in distress.
Spider, caught in the middle of it all, glanced back and forth between Quaritch and the villagers, torn between loyalty and helplessness, his face twisted with uncertainty. He seemed to flinch at Ro'uk's words, momentarily breaking his composure before trying once more to calm the crowd.
Quaritch took another step closer, crouching to her level so that their faces were inches apart. His presence was suffocating, a cold menace rolling off him in waves. - One of Sully's pets, huh? he sneered, his voice dripping with scorn. - Bet your daddy's real proud of you.
Lorre's jaw clenched so tightly that her teeth ached. Rage boiled in her chest, a fire igniting behind her eyes as tears of anger blurred her vision. She wanted to scream at him, to tell him who he was, who she was. But the thought of Quaritch knowing that truth made her stomach turn.
He didn't deserve to know—he deserved nothing from her but hatred.
Her breaths came in shaky bursts as the pain from her kuru being pulled tightened like a vice, but she refused to cry out.
Quaritch's amusement only seemed to grow as he looked at her, as if watching her squirm under his gaze was all part of the twisted game he played.
- You're a traitor to your kind. he said, standing back up and turning his back on her like she was nothing. - But you'll lead me right to Sully, won't you?
Lorre's blood boiled. She bit down on her lip so hard she tasted blood, the metallic tang mixing with the tears still running down her face. How dare he? How dare he stand there, mocking her, after killing Nami and tormenting her family—her people?
The burning rage inside her almost overwhelmed her grief, but when she glanced over at Nami's floating body, her chest tightened all over again.
Her llu, the creature she had loved and bonded with, was gone. Floating lifeless in the water, blood staining the once-clear surface around her. Quaritch had done this. He had taken something precious from her just to make a point, just to show his twisted version of power.
In that moment, something in Lorre snapped. She was shaking now, not from fear, but from the barely-contained fury coursing through her veins. Her vision narrowed, and all she could focus on was the man in front of her-the man who had unknowingly sired her, the monster who had taken her friend, her llu, and now thought he could use her to find Jake Sully.
- You monster! Lorre screamed, her voice breaking through the stunned silence of the village. The words came out as a snarl, a mixture of raw grief and uncontrollable fury.
The Na'vi soldier holding her yanked on her kuru again, sending a fresh wave of pain through her skull, but Lorre didn't care anymore. She thrashed against the soldier's grip, tears streaming down her face as she struggled in vain to break free.
Spider's eyes darted to her, confusion and fear flashing across his face as he watched her unravel. He didn't know—he didn't understand why she was fighting so hard.
He didn't know that the man he was translating for, the man who had just ordered Nami's death, was also her father.
How could he?
Quaritch turned, his lips curled into a sneer, watching her struggle with detached amusement. He didn't know either. And for a split second, Lorre felt a twisted sense of power knowing the truth that neither of them could ever guess. But it didn't matter now. All that mattered was that he had taken too much from her. And now, all she wanted was to make him pay.
The village watched in stunned silence, the Na'vi too terrified to intervene as the scene unfolded. Ro'uk strained against his captor, his body trembling with barely-contained rage as he saw Lorre's suffering, but the taser pressed into his side kept him on his knees. Ka'ali let out a low, furious hiss, her eyes burning with hatred as she watched Lorre be tormented, but there was nothing any of them could do.
Quaritch gave one last cruel glance down at Lorre before turning away, dismissing her pain as though it was insignificant. - Keep an eye on her. he muttered to the Na'vi soldier. - She's got more to tell us yet.
Lorre's heart pounded against her chest as she slumped against the soldier's grip, her body still trembling with the force of her rage and grief. She had lost Nami. She had been humiliated, exposed, and tormented in front of the people who had taken her in as one of their own. And now, she was being used as a tool to hunt down the man who had adopted her-the only father she had truly known.
Quaritch didn’t even bother to face Lorre again, his cold indifference cutting deeper than any blade could. With a dismissive wave of his hand, he started back toward his original position, barking orders without a hint of hesitation.
- Burn the hoochies. he said flatly, his voice carrying the weight of casual cruelty.
A male Na’vi soldier at Quaritch’s side straightened up, pushing another Na’vi roughly to the ground before turning to his soldiers.
- Hey, light them up. the Na’vi soldier echoed, his words met with instant compliance.
The squad of sky people moved in perfect sync, forming a grim line as they marched toward the village homes. With a simple press of the trigger, streams of fire burst forth, igniting the marui homes that had stood for generations.
Flames licked up the woven structures, turning them to ash in moments. The heat was unbearable, but it wasn’t the fire that tore through Lorre’s heart—it was the sight of everything.
Lorre's vision blurred as the once peaceful village exploded into chaos. She tried to move, tried to push against the Na’vi soldier still gripping her, but the pain in her kuru was unbearable. The flames reflected in her tear-filled eyes, the roaring sound of destruction drowning out the screams of her people, her family.
From the corner of her eye, Lorre saw Rai’to, forced to the ground along with Sa’ketu, the elder who had shared so much wisdom with her. The old Na’vi was pushed down roughly by a soldier, her frail body struggling to hold up against the force. Rai’to could only watch, his face contorted in pain as he, too, was shoved into the dirt.
Ro’uk roared in fury, still fighting against the restraint of his captors, his face twisted in rage as he saw his people being brutalized. He tried to stand, tried to lunge for the sky people as they set fire to his home, but the electric pulse of the taser gun sent him crumpling back down with a hiss of pain.
Beside him, Ka’ali snarled, her voice thick with venom as she too was forced to her knees, watching helplessly as their village was torn apart. Her eyes burned with the kind of hatred that could set the world on fire, but even her spirit was being slowly crushed beneath the weight of the soldiers’ guns.
Lorre, choking on her sobs, could only watch as the sky people moved down the line, torching each marui hut one by one. The flames climbed higher and higher, consuming everything in their path.
The Tsahik’s voice rang out, piercing through the flames and chaos with desperate, pleading words.
- stop this! Stop this madness! she cried, her gaze fixed on Spider, her voice breaking with anguish.
Spider’s face twisted with guilt, eyes wide as he took in the devastation his own people had unleashed. - I’m sorry! he yelled back, his voice thick with regret. - I didn’t know! I’m so sorry!
Lorre was powerless. She had failed them. Nami was gone, and now her village, and her friends, were disappearing in front of her eyes.
Quaritch glanced back at her, a cruel smirk playing at the corners of his lips. He didn’t need to say anything more—his message was clear. If Lorre didn’t help them find Jake, this would only be the beginning. He was toying with her, pushing her to break, and the worst part was, it was working.
Her vision narrowed as her grief turned to fury. The fires reflected in her wide eyes as she stared at the man who had fathered her but didn’t know it. How easy it would be to despise him completely, to lose herself in the rage building inside her.
Her lips parted, but no words came. Only a strangled gasp, raw with emotion, as the weight of it all crushed her from the inside. The sky people, her brother caught in their grasp, her real father standing in front of her like a stranger.
As the flames consumed her world, Lorre’s heart hardened. This wasn’t just about Jake anymore. It was about everything that had been taken from her—her home, her loved ones, her innocence. She couldn’t give Quaritch what he wanted, but she had to find a way to fight back, even if it felt impossible in this moment of devastation.
Spider’s gaze flickered between Lorre and Quaritch, confusion and distress written on his face. He was still translating, still caught in the middle of something far bigger than him, but even he couldn’t hide his growing horror at the destruction around him. When his eyes met Lorre’s, there was a flicker of recognition—he saw her pain, but he didn’t know the truth. Not yet.
The sound of cracking wood and the roar of the flames filled the air, mingling with the cries of the Na’vi who were helpless to stop the destruction. Lorre’s body trembled with the force of her anger, but the fire raging within her was nothing compared to the inferno that now consumed the village.
Through it all, Quaritch stood at the center of the chaos, his cold eyes scanning the destruction as if it were nothing more than another task to be completed. And for the first time in her life, Lorre felt a deep, burning need for revenge—not just for herself, but for everyone who had suffered under the weight of his cruelty
Quaritch gave the signal to move out, his words cold and final, dismissing the destruction left in their wake as mere collateral.
Lorre felt the Na'vi soldier’s grip loosen, just slightly, as he turned to follow the order, his attention wavering. And that single, careless moment was all she needed.
Lorre tore herself free, lunging for the nearest discarded knife glinting in the dirt. Her fingers wrapped around its hilt as she stumbled to her feet, a guttural hiss escaping her lips.
Adrenaline surged, mingling with her grief, turning it into a fierce and reckless fury. Her glare was fixed on the backs of the avatar soldiers retreating toward the edge of the village, the flames casting jagged shadows across their forms.
The villagers around her gasped, their fearful whispers growing into a murmur. Ro'uk let out a warning shout, and Ka'ali tried to push forward, her face a mix of desperation and pride as she saw Lorre standing defiant, even against impossible odds.
But Quaritch, hearing the commotion, turned back to face her, raising a hand to stop the soldiers who instinctively raised their guns at her.
- Let her. he said, his voice a mix of intrigue and disdain, watching as Lorre held the knife, her chest heaving with rage.
Spider's voice broke through the tension, a confused mix of pleading and panic. - Lorre, what are you doing? Stop!
She ignored him, all her focus locked onto Quaritch, her knuckles white around the blade. - You think you can do this? she spat, her voice cracking with fury and grief. - You think you can just
come in here, take what you want, destroy everything I love?
Quaritch's mouth curled into a smug smile, unmoved by her defiance. - What I think, is that you don’t know who you’re dealing with.
The words hit her harder than any blow, each syllable dripping with condescension. Her chest tightened, rage searing through her, and in that moment, she wanted him to know. Wanted him to understand, even if he couldn’t see it, who she really was.
- Maybe I know more than you think. she whispered, almost to herself, the words slipping out before she could stop them. - You wouldn’t understand—you never cared about anything
or anyone. Not even your own blood.
Quaritch’s smirk faltered, a flicker of confusion crossing his face, and Spider’s eyes widened, his gaze darting between them. For a brief, suspended moment, everything stilled as the weight of her words hung heavy in the air.
The silence was broken by a soldier who, unable to bear the tension, moved forward to restrain her. Lorre's grip on the knife tightened, and she took a step back, but before she could react, Quaritch lunged forward, his hand a blur as it cracked hard against the side of her head.
A sharp burst of pain exploded through her skull, blurring her vision as her senses scattered, and the knife fell from her hand. She staggered, her legs giving out as the world spun wildly around her. Ro'uk's shout echoed dimly in her ears, Ka'ali’s cry drowned in the buzzing that clouded her senses.
The ground rushed up to meet her, cold and unforgiving, and as she collapsed, the sounds of the village—her people—faded into the background, until there was nothing but darkness pulling her under.

Omg! Just read your jealous hc and this gave me an idea. Can you do something where Neteyam and the reader are best friends (he’s in love with her, obviously) and Ao’nung notices. He tries to flirt with the reader just to get on his nerves and he succeeds his mission. Neteyam tries to stay away from her for a while because he can’t stand the thought of her with someone else and everytime he sees her is just pain. She notices and question him about it and he finally confesses. (If you could do, it would be great! Sorry if this is confusing, english is not my first language)
of course!! i’m sorry isnt the best or seems a little rushed, im still getting used to writing longer fics! but i still hope you enjoy<3
neteyam x fem!reader
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
you and neteyam were inseparable. ever since you guys were kids, you two were always around each other. as you grew older your relationship with neteyam had only grew stronger, and now that you two were new to the metkayina clan, you only had each other
it was painfully obvious to everyone else that neteyam liked you. though for some reason, you were the only one that couldn’t tell. i mean sure he’d openly flirt with you here and there, but you always just brushed it off
aonung on the other hand, indeed did not just “brush it off.” he first caught onto neteyams little crush on you when he saw neteyam smiling at you and looking down at the ground while smiling when you weren’t watching
ever since he saw that moment, all the other hints were so clear. he noticed every time neteyam smiled at you or watched you in awe
he would’ve found it cute, honestly.. only if it was anyone other than neteyam. and what better way to piss neteyam off than to flirt with his beloved.
aonung, roxto, and tsireya were showing you and neteyam around the reef along with lo’ak and tuk. it was so, so beautiful. you wanted to see all of it, the entire reef. but your swimming and breathing capabilities were getting in the way of that.
the four of you rose to the surface to catch your breaths, aonung, roxto, and tsireya following shortly after. tsireya understands you guys can’t swim or hold your breath as well as them, but aonung and roxto can’t help but let out a small laugh
“stop that aonung” tsireya hits him on the head, trying to knock some sense into him
his smile slowly fades but widens once again when you two make eye contact. “you’re right tsireya, im sorry. it’s not their fault they can’t swim as well as us. it’s a shame, truly, i would’ve loved to show y/n around the reef, but i wouldn’t wanna tire her out.” you vaguely hear sarcasm in his voice, but you’re too busy focused on his words to care about his tone of voice
you mouth falls agape and you stare right into aonungs eyes. “no no that wouldn’t tire me out, i just cant keep up with you, that’s all. i would love to explore the reef some more.”
“is that so? well then, what do you say i show you around, just the two of us. ill hold your hand the whole time so that you don’t get lost.” aonung flashes a rather flirtatious smile, and your face gets hot.
“just the two of you? really?” neteyam turns to focus all his attention on you. “how do you know he won’t leave you stranded all alone. you barely know each other.” the irritation in neteyams voice is clear, and the glare in his eyes is sharp.
“neteyam, calm down. do you really think the chiefs son would do that to a guest?” you respond, confused by neteyams sudden annoyance.
“she’s right, my father would kill me. i just want to show her how beautiful the reef is. no harm in that, right?” aonung adds on, purposely sneaking a wink at you at you to provoke neteyam even more.
neteyam was pissed. was he doing this on purpose? worst part was, you didn’t even seem to mind it. in fact, you were excited to go with him.
“cmon bro it’ll be fine, let’s just go back and find kiri.” lo’ak says trying to ease neteyam, clearly catching onto his anger.
neteyam doesn’t say another word. he just looks at you for a moment before swimming off with the rest of them.
—
how long has it been? an hour? two? you and aonung finally finished exploring the reef, and goodness was it gorgeous. you cant wait to tell neteyam all about what you saw, that is.. if you can find him.
everyone was gathered on the beach except for him. lo’ak, kiri, tsireya, tuk, all of them. where was neteyam? he was always the first to welcome you back after you went somewhere, but he was nowhere in sight.
“lo’ak, do you know where neteyam is?”
“nope, once we got back from the reef he left and i haven’t seen him since.”
how strange.
perhaps he’s just tired. he hasn’t gotten much rest since the arrival here, so maybe he went to sleep early. it’s fine, you’ll talk to him tomorrow.
—
it’s been almost two days and neteyam still hasn’t talked to you. at first you gave him space in case he truly was mad at you, but now it was just getting tiring, and you were sick of it. it was obvious something is upsetting him, and you were gonna find out what.
you observed him as he talked to lo’ak on the beach. it was already eclipse, and you watched the way his spots faintly glowed under the dark sky. there was a nervous feeling gnawing at your stomach and you just couldn’t figure out why. “it’s just neteyam,” you remind yourself.
lo’ak started walking back to the hut, and you took the chance to finally speak with neteyam. you paused for a moment before you continued your steps towards him. he looked serene, beautiful even, but there was a glint of sadness in his eyes.
“neteyam,” you mumbled out, your footsteps matched your voice, soft. he shifted his body towards you, his back facing the ocean with his arms crossed. he had the same look on his face he did just seconds ago. you exhaled slowly, a light breeze blowing your hair. you could feel his stare on you, it was intimidating. you finally lifted your head to meet his eyes. his eyes reflected the stars and for a moment you forgot what you were gonna say.
“neteyam, did i do something?” your voice was hesitant at first, but your pace sped up, “i mean- you’ve been ignoring me, haven’t you? you’ve never ignored me. what’s going on.” you let out a deep breath that you didn’t realize you were holding.
he didn’t say anything for a moment. he just stared into your eyes with no visible expression. “do you have feelings for aonung,” he finally lets out.
what?
what?
did he really just ask that? you stare at him with utter disbelief for a moment. “i’m sorry, what?” you scoff. “you don’t talk to me for almost two days and that is the first thing you say?”
“im giving you your answer.”
“no, no you are not. is this some sort of awful joke?”
he lets out a breathy laugh, and you can see his body tense up, “you just don’t get it do you?? how much more obvious do i need to make it for you to finally get the damn hint?” his arms fall to his sides and his voice becomes more assertive, “for fucks sake i like you, y/n, i’ve loved you for years, and you still haven’t noticed?”
oh.
the both of you fall silent. seems you aren’t the only one in shock, neteyam takes a step back as if he couldn’t believe what he just said either. you stand still for a good minute, unsure of what to do. perhaps you shouldn’t have brushed off all the hints after all. the wind gently blows his braids and he stands tall. you could admire him for hours. you practically already have. you always find yourself unknowingly staring at the way his eyes shine in the sun, or the way he smiles, or the way he’s so, effortlessly, alluring.
but right now was not a moment to just stare at him. your heart is racing and the nervous feeling comes back. “neteyam..”
“no i’m sorry just forget what i said i didnt-“
“neteyam,” you cut him off, “i see you.”

Tumblr media
it was a day like any other. you were at the sullys’ home hanging out with kiri and tuk, waiting for the rest of the family to return from the raid. while you waited, kiri helped you with a new hairstyle that you wanted to try. it was just simple box braids with your natural hair, but you added some beads to the end.
you weren’t one for beads in your hair. neytiri and kiri always tried to get you to do it, but you never gave in. you complained that they made your head feel heavy and your neck hurt.
tuk got bored of listening to you guys, so she got up to play outside with the other kids in the village. “play nice, tuk!” kiri called after her little sister. tuk gave an absent-minded hum of agreement as she rushed out. you and kiri couldn’t help but giggle at the young girl’s free spirit.
you guys continue to braid your hair and chat for the next few hours until you hear the pitter-patter of little feet growing louder. tuk bursts into the tent as if on cue, shouting, “the war party is back! they are back!! come on! let’s go! let’s go!” luckily, kiri had just finished securing the beads on your last braid before tuk came in.
you and kiri both stood and ran out of the tent. you were just as eager for the return of the war party as tuk was.
because it meant the return of lo’ak
lo’ak has been your best friend since childhood. he has never left your side. not since the day you two met. you and lo’ak had been announced as promised mates back when the two of you were 15. now you’re both 17 and ready to be of age, so you can visit the tree of voices and mate before the great mother eywa, just like how he told you his parents did.
as you approached the heart of the village, you watched as all the warriors landed their ikrans. the village people chant and cheer in celebration of the warriors’ return. you looked around frantically until your eyes landed on precisely who you were looking for. still, before you could even step toward him, you noticed the dejected look on his face. not only him but neteyam too. neteyam, though, was roughed up way more than lo’ak was.
jake walked his boys past you and straight toward their home. you waited a few minutes, trying to respect their privacy as a family, but you couldn’t help yourself. you snuck over and pressed your back against the wall next to the entrance of their home, quietly listening in.
“you’re supposed to be spotters. how is it that i gave you direct orders, and you knuckleheads still managed to disobey them.” jake scolded his boys as neytiri stood behind them.
“now, ma jake, your son is actually bleeding,” she said, giving him a look. he just sighed and dismissed his eldest to go see his grandmother.
neytiri walked out of the tent and greeted you as she passed, “hello, koa, your hair looks beautiful.” you could only stare at her back in shock as she walked away, guiding her son to his grandmother’s tent. and just before neytiri was out of sight, she peered over her shoulder, making direct eye contact with you. then she winked, and immediately after, she was out of view.
you and neytiri had this adorable mother-daughter relationship in which she teased you about how you acted around her son, lo’ak since he was your promised mate. she would tease you whenever she caught you daydreaming or giggle and give you a knowing look when she noticed you and lo’ak’s entangled tails as you all sat for dinner.
you love neytiri. she was more of a mother to you than your actual mom, but you never told her that. they all think your home life is perfect, but everything is horrible behind closed doors.
before you could get deeper into your thoughts, your ears perked up at jake talking again.
“you do understand you almost got your brother killed today?”
“yes sir,” it was a quiet response from lo’ak. one full of insecurities. insecurities that you made a mental note to kiss away later when you met up at your ‘secret hideout,’ as lo’ak liked to call it.
“you’re grounded. no flying for a month. dismissed. oh, and go wash that shit off your face.” jake said before leaving lo’ak to be the only sully in their home. you stood from your hiding spot and silently slipped into their home, spotting lo’ak standing in the center of the room.
you noticed how his fists were clenched, and his frame shook, and then you heard the sniffles. you immediately walked over, wrapping your arms around him, palms pressed flat to his chest as you pressed your face between his shoulder blades. you felt his heartbeat, his breathing, heard his sobs, felt him shake.
“oh, lo’ak
i wish i could take this pain away for you,” you said as you felt tears coming to your eyes. you knew how much his fathers’ words hurt him.
lo’ak didn’t respond. all he did was turn in your grasp and push his face into your neck as he sobbed. slowly, you lowered your body, bringing you both to the floor so you could sit and hold him.
after a few minutes, you noticed he still had his face paint on. you got up, a process made way more complicated by who lo’ak didn’t want to let you go, grabbing a wooden bowl and a small cloth before sitting in front of the boy you love again.
reaching your hand, you raised his chin to see his face correctly. you wet the soft cloth with the water from the bowl, ringing it out a bit before introducing it to lo’ak’s face. you gently removed the war paint from his face, focusing on getting everything off.
while you’re focused on cleaning lo’ak’s face, he takes the time to admire your beauty. he takes in all of your features as if trying to memorize your face. you felt his gaze on you, but you didn’t mind it because lo’ak tended to do this often. he always sits quietly and admires you when you take his face paint off after the war party returns. once, you asked him what he was doing, but he just shushed you.
you pulled back from the boy, looking him in his eyes. you finished cleaning off his face, so you placed the cloth in the bowl, freeing up both of your hands. you cupped his cheeks, using your thumbs to wipe away his remaining tears. “lo’ak, why don’t we go to our secret hideout, hm? that always cheers you up.” you suggested, and the moment you said ‘secret hideout,’ lo’ak was sold.
“let’s go,” he said. his voice was hoarse and scratchy, probably from all the crying, but he ignored it. standing to his height and helping you with him, lo’ak grabbed your hand and started walking you out of his family’s home.
you didn’t get far, running into his back when he stopped suddenly. “ah- lo’ak! what was that for?” you said as you rubbed your nose, looking up at the taller boy. he turned to you and held your shoulders. “i have to do something before i leave,” he said, looking over at his grandmother’s tent. you could hear the voices of his siblings pouring out, and you could also see his parents sitting out front, talking.
you nodded in understanding. “it is okay, lo’ak, go. meet me there after, okay? don’t be long.” you said as you walked down the path the two of you usually took to get to your spot.
little did you know, as you were waiting for lo’ak at your hideout, he and his siblings were being held at gunpoint by rda avatars. the night had gotten so late that you laid down, hoping by the time you woke up, lo’ak would be next to you.
Tumblr media
you stirred awake at the sound of forest animals and ikrans flying by. rubbing your eyes, you sit up, noticing that you had fallen asleep in the forest waiting on lo’ak to meet you. you were hurt that he stood you up, but you were pretty rational, so you hoped he had a good excuse for why he never showed.
when you returned to the clan, you noticed that everyone in the village was surrounding the ikran takeoff area. you were confused, so you walked over. pushing through the crowd, you saw the sully family once you got to the front. they had everything packed onto their ikrans, and you noticed neytiri was crying.
when jake noticed, you could see his demeanor visibly soften. neytiri saw you and only started crying harder. “neytiri, what is happening?” you asked cautiously, tears coming to your eyes. “oh, my sweet girl,” she said as she held her arms out for you, hugging you close. “our family is being hunted,” she whispered to you.
your entire world stopped. you knew exactly what this meant. “no. no. no. neytiri, jake, please don’t leave. please don’t leave me. this is your home. we will fight for you guys. we will protect you guys. please don’t go. you guys are my family.” you said in a whispered voice. jake and neytiri comforted you to the best of their ability, but then it struck you.
lo’ak.
you release your hold on neytiri and turn to face him. he had an unreadable look like he was scared or nervous.
you walked over to him with tears in your eyes. “you did not meet me last night, lo’ak, and now your family is leaving. what am i to do?” you sobbed. lo’ak pulled you into his chest, holding you while you cried. he cried, too, because this hurt him more than anything. you were the one person in his life who truly understood and loved him, and now he had to leave you.
“let me come with you,” you begged. “i can pack my stuff very quickly, i promise-” lo’ak cut you off, squeezing you tighter into his body. “koa. you can not come. you have to stay here. this is the only way i will truly know you are safe.” you shook your head. “lo’ak, please don’t do this, please. i will find you, my love. i will fly all of pandora just to find you.”
the boy looked over to his father, giving him some kind of signal, and jake motioned to two warriors over. they immediately got the hint, walking around to you, grabbing your arms, and pulling you away from lo’ak so he could mount his ikran.
“i know ma koa. i’m sorry,” he said.
“KEHE, PLEASE LET ME GO TO HIM,” you screamed and kicked and cried, begging them to let you go as the sully family took off into the distance. the scream you let out was bloodcurdling. lo’ak could hear it, despite the distance his family had already flown away. having your promised mate leave you right in front of your eyes felt like having your heart ripped out of your chest.
Tumblr media
for five years, you have been flying around pandora, going from clan to clan, venturing through forests, and trying to find your promised mate. you never even thought about turning back; home has become a forgotten thought in your mind.
you and your ikran, seze, fled the omatikaya clan at night. not wanting anyone to see or hear you leave, but then again, it’s not like if you left at the busiest point of the day, it would’ve made a difference. nobody looked at you anymore, let alone acknowledged that you lived amongst them. so you took it upon yourself to leave. if everyone acted as if you didn’t exist, you might as well go; it’s not like anyone would have cared.
the omatikaya clan meant nothing to you, and you mean nothing to them.
at least that’s what you told yourself.
continuing to fly, you came across what looked like a young na’vi boy backing up toward a cliff edge. you analyze the situation further and notice a thanator slowly walking towards the child, emerging from its hiding spot. though you did not know the child, you still needed to save him.
“come on seze, yah!!”
your ikran took off towards the thanator, screeching. in one swoop, seze sunk his talons into the side thanators neck, killing him on impact. quickly removing your tsaheylu from seze, you slowly tried approaching the young boy, trying to coax him away from the cliff’s edge.
“hi, yawntutsyip, it is okay. i am not here to harm you. look,” you said as you slowly grabbed your bow and arrows, removing them from your body. you kicked them away, too, so the child would be more comfortable. you took another step closer, but he still cringed away. you looked down at your body and saw that you still had your knife on you. you quickly grabbed it and tossed it with your bow and arrows.
only then did the boy allow you to approach him. you wrapped your arms around the child, trying to soothe him from all the fear he had just experienced. you moved the two of you far, far away from the cliff. you sat against seze’s resting form, and the child curled up into you while you wrapped one of the blankets you packed when you left the omatikaya clan around the both of you. that boy had death at his front door, but you saved him.
the little boy pulled back from the hug, rubbing the tears out of his eyes. “irayo,” he said between hiccups and sobs. “it is okay, my child. you are safe,” you whispered.
“what is your name, my child?” you ask while trying to lull him to sleep.
“anuk,” he said, rubbing his eyes.
“hi anuk, my name is koa. you’re going to be okay, it is alright,” you said as you rocked him back and forth, planning on trying to find his home in the morning.
he was fighting his sleep, though, probably still running on adrenaline. looking up at you, he whispered, “i really like your bow.”
“thank you, anuk. my promised mate gave it to me. its very special to me.” you said, the vibrations from your voice soothing the boy, and the rocking motion only aided in lulling the boy to sleep.
you both lay under the stars of pandora’s night sky, seze remaining on guard so the two of you could rest in peace.
Tumblr media
the young tawkamian boy held onto your leg as you loaded the last of your belongings onto the back of seze. you never got to tell neytiri about the name because your iknimaya happened after the sully family left.
returning to reality when you felt tiny hands squeezing your leg again, the big sad eyes of the little village boy meeting yours. “anuk~ you cannot come with me, paruitsyip. i’m sorry, but it’s my time to go.”
“no, koa, stay here!! we can be a family! i can have an older sister again,” the words out of the poor boy’s mouth saddened you. you kneeled to his height so you could look him in the eyes.
“i’m so sorry, ‘nuk, but my lover is waiting for me, so i have to find him. i hope you find love like this, so you will one day understand why i left. but remember me, you never know, i may come back and visit.” she said, smiling at the young boy.
you were aware of the loss of the chief’s daughter because it happened to be the same night you found anuk. the two children traveled into the forest just before eclipse until they got lost while trying to escape a thanator. the same one that attacked anuk the night you found him.
anuk said that while he and his sister were going on their daily hunt, Ă€zan noticed that a baby thanator had wandered too close to the clan’s territories. she started to panic because that meant that the mother was not far behind. she tried to get anuk to safety, but before she could get anywhere, anuk noticed the mother thanator creeping in the branches above them.
the eldest child looked to her younger brother and whispered, “anuk, you run right now. you run and do not turn back for me no matter what you hear me? go, now!”
upon hearing his sister’s stern voice, the young boy took off, and it was only seconds before he heard his sister’s screams. he knew he couldn’t turn back, though. she told him he couldn’t and would rather be banished from his clan than disobey her last words.
the young boy sniffled, reliving his last memory of his sister. you, having been at the tawkami clan for a few months now, know the look on his face when he returns to that memory. “hey, anu’, stay here with me, okay? Ă€zan is with eywa. she’s in good hands.” you said, hugging the child.
after a few minutes of tears and goodbyes, you finally set off to continue your journey to find your promised mate. it was always sad when you left a clan. the friendships and bonds you would build with the people of the villages were something you held close to your heart. and every time you left, it left your heart missing the warmth of the village people.
Tumblr media
you think it had been about a week and a half, and you and seze were soaring around pandora. it wasn't until you started to see gorgeous blue waters that you perked up.
another day or so of flying goes by, and you see something as you pass over a clearing—or rather, someone.
there was a light-toned, almost turquoise, na'vi jumping around, looking like he was trying to get your attention. you waved back, and he started pointing somewhere, assuming that he was telling you to fly in that direction, so you followed. after a few minutes, you saw two more na'vi
and then three more
and then a whole group of them
and then, finally, you came across what you assumed was their homeland.
horns started blowing, signaling an arrival.
you slowly dismounted, where the water met the sea, and left seze on the beach. removing your flight gear, you notice a massive crowd of people staring at you. as this isn't your first time, you do what you've learned to do.
walking toward the crowd, you raised your hands in surrender, showing that you did not intend to harm anyone, the bow, arrows, and pocket knife that you left on seze's saddle makes that clear to the village people. but something was different about this clan.
it almost seemed as if they weren't shocked to see a na'vi from a faraway land.
after a few minutes, you're surrounded by these clan people. you have yet to learn what clan you are in or their leader. your attention is pulled to a tall man, who you assume is the clan leader, and you immediately acknowledge him.
"i see you," you said while also making the gesture.
he returned it, as well as a woman next to him who you assumed was the tsahik, so you gestured 'i see you' to her as well.
“who are you.” the woman hissed.
"hello. um.. my name is koa. i am a wanderer; i'm flying around pandora because i'm looking for someone." you explained, cowering away at the woman's hostility.
"i am tonowari, olo’eyktan, and this is my wife, ronal.” the tall man introduced himself and his mate
“what clan are you from, koa," ronal asked; you could hear the slight hiss in her voice as she said your name, as if she didn't want you to be here.
"i am from no clan." you say with your head down.
"well, you lived somewhere at some point? that place was?" tonowari pressed further.
“the forest. omatikaya.” you said, barely above a whisper.
"omatikaya? what is it with your people and seeing refuge with the metkayina clan, huh?" he joked, a few people around him laughing a bit too
"what do you mean?" you were confused. what was he talking about?
"you say you come looking for someone. who is this person?" ronal asked.
"i am looking for a man who goes by the name of lo'ak sully. does anyone of that name live here, or have you heard the name anywhere before?" you asked desperately,
the second you said his name, there were murmurs, gasps, and whispers from the crowd around you.
the two adults analyzed you. you were dirty, improperly dressed, and looked like you hadn't had a shower or meal in days. you looked exhausted. the mother in ronal stirred a bit.
tonowari and ronal turned to each other, sharing a look before looking at you again. they couldn't let you wander around anymore. not when they know where the person you're looking for is.
"come with me, my child; i am tsahik of the metkayina clan. you are going to be okay," ronal said as she wrapped her arms around you to support you while she walked you to her home. ronal doesn't know what it is about this child and why she's treating her differently than how she did the sully family, but that's not important right now.
"tonowari, go to the sullys and tell them an omatikayan girl is asking for lo'ak in our pod." her husband was moving within seconds of hearing his wife's demand, and the rest of the clan dispersed, going back to what they were doing.
Tumblr media
you were sitting in ronal’s home for about 20 minutes before you heard heavy footsteps growing louder. it was only a few seconds until tonowari pushed the tent’s flap aside, but you were only greeted with four out of six faces that had left five years ago.
jake
neytiri
kiri
and tuk...
where the hell are lo’ak and neteyam?
the family looks at you for a second, and when they accept that it’s you, they rush over and scoop you up into the warmest hug you’ve had in years.
it brings tears to your eyes seeing the people who you’ve missed for five years.
“oh, my sweet girl. you’re here,” neytiri said, wiping the tears from your eyes.
“how did you find us?” jake asked. his tone was concerned, a manner that only a worried father would use.
“i have been looking for you guys since you left
.” you said nervously.
“you’ve been looking for us since we left?!” tuk cries; you glance over the once small child and notice that she is a preteen now, about 12 or 13 years old.
“oh my eywa tuk you’ve gotten so big!!” you said, tickling the girl in the same place you used to when she was younger. seeing as tuk immediately started giggling and laughing, you knew that even though she had grown up, she was still the same little girl you remembered.
“i know! i am taller than when lo’ak was my age,” she said, slightly teasing her older brother, who wasn’t even present. speaking of which,
“where is lo’ak?” you asked, looking over at kiri, your best friend who you miss so much. you figured you would ask about nete later since you assumed he was out hunting like he always was
but when you notice the room go silent, you refocus your attention on the people around you. the sully family had these looks on their faces, one that you couldn’t quite put your finger on. the air had grown thick with tension, and you started worrying. in the corner of the marui were ronal and tonowari. they both had looks of confusion on their face. they called jake over to have a conversation.
you watched him walk over and tried to listen to their whispered conversation. you gave up when you realized they were talking too low. but before you could completely tune out, you heard a small gasp followed by a heavy sigh.
jake told ronal and tonowari everything. he told them how lo’ak had a promised mate at their old clan and how they tried to talk some sense into him, but they couldn’t help but want to see their boy finally happy after the loss they faced as a family.
you turned back to your best friend,
“kiri
what is wrong? i just asked where lo’ak is?” you were starting to get worried. did something happen to him?
“he is out right now,” was all she said.
“out? kiri, what the fuck? out where?”
“he is out with tsireya!” tuk pitched in.
suddenly your heart started beating fast, and your stomach was dropping. your worst nightmare began to form in your head.
“who is tsireya?” you asked.
“tsireya is my daughter.” said tonowari.
you looked at tuk and asked.
“who is tsireya?” but tuk knew what you were really asking. ‘who is tsireya to lo’ak.’
“she is his mate.” the girl said dejectedly.
you felt your heart fall to the floor and shatter into a million pieces. the second tuk said that m-word, the one word you honestly never thought you would hear, it felt like your world was caving in.
everyone in the room could visibly see your heartbreak at that statement, but as soon as the expression came, it was gone. you masked your pain, not wanting to have a breakdown in front of everyone, but you were damn sure going to get some answers.
“where is he?”
“he is just south of here. at a place, we call three brothers. it is about a 10-minute ride on our ilus, but you have an ikran, so i am not sure how long it will take you.” ronal spoke up, directing you in the direction of the boy who she now knows betrayed you.
“i can make it there in 5,” you said as you stood and walked out of the room.
Tumblr media
sure enough, you got there in 5 minutes. you could tell by the three big ass rocks that were coming into view. something in your gut told you that you wouldn't like how this was about to go down.
"above the clouds," you instructed seze. this way, if you noticed lo'ak, he would see you when you wanted him to. it only took like 30 seconds of looking to find him. he was lying on the beach with a metkayina girl, tsireya.
"land." it was a simple command. seze brought you down silently as he settled on the opposite side of the beach.
sneaking up on someone isn't hard when walking in the sand. however, you still ensured you were as quiet as possible when you approached the couple. as you stood over the two, you questioned how you got so close without either of the na'vi noticing you. then you realized they were sleeping, with a blanket and everything.
they were sleeping under the eclipse

that was something the two of you used to do.
this enraged you. walking back to seze, you grabbed your bow and one singular arrow. by the time you were standing over the couple again, you had taken your hand and drew back, aiming the arrow right in between lo'ak's face and the back of tsireya's head.
your hands shaking and the tears blurring her eyes only made you pull the arrow further back. and finally, you released a breath you didn't know you were holding as you let go of the hand, allowing it to snipe right into the ground in front of lo'aks nose.
it wasn't the noise of the arrow that woke lo'ak up. it was the force of the wind from how fast it had been released. it startled him. with wide eyes, he looked at the arrow and then up from where it came from, making eye contact with you.
lo'ak was in denial, to say the least. not believing his eyes, he slowly stood up, which caused tsireya to stir awake too, but she couldn't sit up much because your arrow trapped one of her braids in the sand.
as lo'ak stood to his full height, you got to consider how much he had grown over the last five years. the last time you saw each other, you were 17, and now you're 22. to you, lo'ak still looks like the boy you knew back then. the only difference you spotted was the height and muscle growth.
"nothing about you has changed. so why is everything so different now?" you asked him. he could hear the hurt in your voice. that's the only reason he could tell that you knew. you knew that tsireya was his mate. you knew he went against eywa's wishes. you knew he lied to you.
"koa, this isn't what it looks like," lo'ak started. you narrowed your eyes at him. "okay, this is kinda what it looks like, but-" suddenly tsireya checked into the conversation, cutting lo'ak, "YOU KNOW THIS CRAZY WOMAN?!"
to say lo'ak's mate was furious was an understatement. tsireya was pissed, she had been disturbed from her nap by some woman she didn't know, had her hair trapped in the sand, and now this woman was claiming to know her mate.
lo'ak, hearing tsireya yelling, immediately tried to calm her down. "baby, remember, no stress, okay? you gotta calm down."
"CALM DOWN?! how can you say calm down, lo'ak?!!” as the couple argued, you took your arrow out of the ground. pulling your arm back, you aim right in between tsireyas eyes, fully intending to release the arrow.
but before you could, lo'ak stepped between the two of you, holding his hands out.
he's trying to diffuse the situation.
"you defend her. why?!" you asked with tears in your eyes. your bow was still in the perfect position to release at any moment. "i defend her because she is my mate, koa." hearing the words come out of his mouth made it so much more real. you didn't want to accept that your promised mate had left you for someone else, but the facts were right in front of you.
lo'ak isn't yours anymore.
"you dare betray the will of eywa?!" you said, only pulling your arrow more. you knew this wasn't really what bothered you, but you weren't ready to crack, still wanting to keep up your strong warrior façade.
"what is she talking about, lo'ak," tsireya asks her mate. you can tell by the face that lo'ak made at tsireya's question that he got caught. this was the only thing that caused you to lower your bow slightly. a sound of disbelief left you. "you betrayed me for someone you can not even trust enough to tell the truth. you betrayed me with someone you do not even harbor any respect for!! lo'ak, what were you thinking?"
"she was there for me."
"how could i have been there for you when you left without telling me where you were going? i guarantee i have been there to comfort you after your father has run through you more times than she has."
"that's not what i meant-"
"then what do you mean, lo'ak? just help me understand what is happening-"
"SHE WAS THERE FOR ME WHEN NETEYAM DIED." you had pushed him so much, he snapped. lo'ak couldn't help but raise his voice at you. you were pushing his buttons, and you knew you were too. but this is not at all what you expected lo'ak to respond with
"wha-" you couldn't even form words while trying to process what lo'ak had just said.
neteyam is dead
"when
"
"four years ago" if your heart could break more, it would have. neteyam was like the older brother you never asked for. he always watched out for you when adventuring, treating you the way he treated kiri and tuk, like his little sister.
never in a million years did you think eywa would take such a mighty warrior from the world at such a young age.
"the sky people took him
we went to go save spider, and then he-" lo'ak got choked up, causing his mate to move so she could comfort him.
as she got up, the blanket fell to the floor, revealing the girl's baby bump.
"she's pregnant
."
"koa-" he tried to explain
"you did not tell her that you had a promised mate waiting for you at home? i was looking for you. i had hope that you loved me enough to wait for me because i told you i would come for you lo'ak. i told you i would, and yet
 you got her pregnant
" the words felt like knives coming out of your mouth.
lo'ak started to get defensive. he didn't feel like he did anything wrong. he followed his heart, and his heart led him to tsireya. the girl who was there the nights he had endless nightmares, reliving the worst moment of his life. she was there when his mind started clouding with horrible thoughts. thoughts that haunted him until tsireya was finally able to pull him from the darkness in which he had submerged himself.
"oh, please don't act like you haven't thought about mating with someone else while i've been gone. eywa, i bet no'eng has been all over you since i've left."
that last sentence was like adding fuel to a flame. you were pissed.
"you know what? he was throwing himself at me. he asked me to be his tsahik and all." lo'ak scoffed, rolling his eyes "see, you're no better than i am, you traitor-" you didn't let him finish his sentence as you quickly raise your bow. the pointed edge being held at lo'ak's neck.
"i am no traitor. you will speak when i am done." not that he would ever admit it, but seeing this side of you terrified lo'ak.
what had he done to you

you were not the same girl he remembered from when he left. but he refused to speak another word, unsure if you would hurt him, given the current circumstances.
"he asked me to be his tsahik. i went through the training, the lessons, the courting. and when the day came for us to mate in front of eywa, i refused. i told him, as i had been telling him and everyone else the entire time he was courting me. my heart belongs to lo'ak sully. i will not mate with anyone unless it is him. i will not be anyone's tsahik unless it is his. i will not bare anyone's children unless it is his. and yet i am stupid. i am stupid because here you are. mated, in love, starting a family with someone else when you said you would only do those things if it were with me."
"YOU HAD A DESTINED MATE, AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!" tsireya was fuming.
"the baby, my love," lo'ak said, trying to find any excuse to get her to calm down.
"i was planning on telling you," he tried but tsireya wasn't having it. "oh yeah, when, you asshole! before or after you got me pregnant?!!" she yelled, throwing a handful of sand at her mate, which he dodged.
"you've lied to me for five years about having a promised mate?" lo'ak looked at tsireya now. when he heard the hurt in her voice, he moved closer to her, cupping her cheeks.
another thing he used to do with you.
"reya, you were there for me. okay? i fell for you, and i promise you, i put it on eywa-"
"it would not be wise to trust someone who has gone against the will of our great mother-" koa advised.
"KOA, SHUT. UP. tsireya, you were there for me when 'teyam died. every second of healing you were there for. you never left my side, and for that, i will love you till the end of pandora." hearing the love of your life not only raise his voice at you for the first time but also confess his undying love for someone else right in front of you was your breaking point. you felt like someone stabbed you in the heart, twisted the knife, and ripped it out.
neteyam is dead

lo'ak no longer loves you

what else is the point of being here?
but you are strong and came for a reason, so you're not about to let this woman redirect your conversation with lo'ak.
"after i rejected the tsahik position and refused to mate with no'eng, my parents disowned me. they said i was selfish, that i wasn't thinking about the clan and only about my feelings. so for the next five years i traveled pandora looking for you. because i knew if i was welcomed anywhere in the world, it would be where the sullys are- no. it would be where lo'ak te suli tsyeyk'itan is." tears were pouring out of your eyes, and it was clear as day that they were not going to stop any time soon.
with eclipse approaching, you just wanted to disappear. you didn't care where. it wouldn't matter anyways. not when the one person who you flew around the world for, the one person who you dreamed of mating with, being with, had mated with someone else without a second thought about you.
"but i guess that is not true anymore, is it..?" you finally lowered your bow, throwing it at lo'aks feet. "i would rather remain defenceless for the rest of my days than use a bow gifted to me by a traitor."
walking away, you didn't look back at all. hopping over seze’s back, you instructed him, "fly." within minutes, you were back on the sand of the metkayina beaches.
still crying your heart out, you wandered the village aimlessly. you tried your hardest not to make much noise as you walked around and as you started to get lost in your thoughts, you bumped into someone, causing you to return to reality.
a very tall someone.
"oh! i'm so sorry i wasn't looking where i was going," you said as you quickly tried to wipe your tears away so you could see who you were talking to.
you made eye contact with a very handsome metkayina boy who had tattoos littering his body and a high bun on top of his head. it almost felt like everything went in slow motion as you two made eye contact. but again, you were reeled back to the real world when the boy spoke.
“don't worry about it- wait, you're not a sully," he said, looking more confused than he was a few seconds ago. "who are you, and how did you get here undetected," he said, starting to lower himself into a battle stance, but kiri's laugh rang in your ears before things could get carried away. you turn your head, seeing the girl walking up behind you.
"for someone who is the chief's son, you are very uninformed, ao'nung," the younger girl jokes, flicking the older boy's forehead. "she is a visitor from the omatikayan clan. a family friend of ours," she says, hugging you around your shoulders.
"kiri, i was looking for you guys. i have a question," you said as you nervously played with your hands, tears brimming your eyes for the millionth time today.
you were thinking about how you lost everything, your family, your friends, your home, and you would never get to see neteyam again. you traveled all over pandora and for a boy who mated with someone else the first chance he got.
"is it okay if i stay with you guys for a while? i can't go back home." the hurt in your voice was evident to both na'vi standing with you.
"wait, why can't you go home? did your parents pass?? oh, my condolenc-" you cut kiri off.
"no-no. kiri, you do not understand. i can not go home because i was disowned. by my family, by the clan. everyone hates me." kiri didn't understand. how could the village's sweetheart suddenly be shunned by the whole clan? resting her hands on your shoulders gently, trying to reassure you, kiri asked you softly, "...what happened."
"where is your mother," you asked, ignoring kiri's question. "she is in our marui. come, it is this way. sorry, ao'nung, we have to go, but i can formally introduce you guys later, ya?” the sully's eldest daughter said, walking you away to her family's marui pod. when the two of you arrived, jake and neytiri immediately turned upon hearing sniffles and sobs to see who was entering their home.
when they noticed it was you, they took in your expression and remembered where you just came from putting two and two together. they were immediately offering you comfort. neytiri was the first to move.
"oh, my girl. my sweet, sweet girl." her mother mode activated immediately.
"ma sa'nu... 'teyam..." hearing you say her deceased son's name only made neytiri cry harder. but not for herself, for you. you were losing so much at once, it wasnt fair. you were getting hit by a storm that you didn't even know was coming and even then, no amount of time or experience couldve prepared you for this.
"he is with eywa now... he is safe..." was all she said as she pulled you into a tight hug, making you cry even more because you hadn't felt a mother's love in five years.
having nobody to raise you was hard. growing up on your own, feeding yourself and your ikran, and surviving extreme weather and dangerous predators as a child who wasn't ready for the world was hard. you haven't felt warmth and love in ages, and this... this felt so nice. after how shitty the past few hours have been, this felt like floating on a cloud. a cloud you never wanted to come down from.
and then, when jake joined the hug, you felt the entire world go silent—feeling the two people you considered your parents your whole life embrace brought warmth to your hurting heart.
you felt peace. for the first time in five years, you felt peace! but of course, it had to be ruined by the sound of tuk and a boy's voice arguing with the last person you wanted to see.
"lo'ak stop. go back with tsireya! roxto pull harder!"
"i'm sorry, tuk, i'm trying!"
lo'ak walked into the entrance, roxto and tuk hanging off his arms, trying to pull him in the opposite direction. "koa! how dare you. you come to my clan, you mess with my life, you-"
you scoffed, "so, what? you're following me now?" you asked.
"you come to my home and say i'm following you? how ironic" lo'ak rolled his eyes. you get up from neytiri's hug, walking over to lo'ak so he can hear what you are about to say.
"i only came here looking for you because i thought you loved me, lo'ak. i guess i was wrong," you said, bumping his shoulder as you walked past. though before you got anywhere, he grabbed your arm.
"i'm not done talking to you-"
"FUCK YOU, LO'AK," you screamed.
the room was silent.
"have i not given up everything for you? have i not grieved every loss known to man? HAVE I NOT SUFFERED ENOUGH FOR YOU, LO'AK?" if your tears stopped earlier, they sure are back now.
"i refused to be tsahik and rejected the finest man in the village all because of my love for you, so have i not given up my life? i have been disowned by my dear parents... my poor, poor parents, so have i not given up my family?" your body was so spent. you felt like she had been running on adrenaline for five years. you feel like it's starting to wear off, causing pain in every inch of your body. that's how bad this heartbreak hurt you.
"i have TRAVELLED AROUND PANDORA FOR THE PAST FIVE. FUCKING. YEARS. LOOKING FOR YOUR DUMBASS BECAUSE IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD A PART OF ME KNEW THAT I WOULD NEVER LOVE ANYONE THE WAY I LOVE YOU, LO'AK..." there was dead silence in the marui. nobody spoke, nobody moved, nobody breathed. falling to your knees, you continued to sob on the floor in the sully family marui.
on your knees in front of the man who you thought loved you.
you raised your head to look lo'ak in the eyes as you said, "maybe that is a good thing, though. maybe i should not love anyone the way i loved you. because the way i loved you caused you to not only leave me alone but to abandon the will of eywa completely. if you hate me so much that you go to such lengths to get away from my love, i will leave to where nobody knows where or who i am. i am destined to be alone in this life anyways, right?.." you sobbed. everyone in the room felt their hearts break hearing you crying like that.
"i never thought you would do this to me in a million years. but i guess we all get a reality check one day." you said, standing up and walking out the marui, barely finishing your sentence. you ignored all protests coming from the rest of the sully family as you walked away.
Tumblr media
you had been hiding away from the sully family since the day you and lo’a- him argued. it wasn’t because the family had done anything wrong. you just were not ready to talk about your feelings, and knowing jake and neytiri sully, they would find a way to make you speak like they do with all their kids.
over a week passed, and every time you saw someone from the sully family, you turned the other way and hid because then that would mean they would start asking you questions and probing you, and you weren’t emotionally ready for that right now.
it was eclipse, and you were sitting against a rock, looking out into the ocean with a lost look in your eyes. you were silently crying to yourself, wishing, praying that this was all a dream and that your worst nightmare hadnt coming true. yet you already knew it wasn’t a dream, but it didn’t hurt to try, right?
“i thought i would run into you again” it was a familiar voice you had only heard one other time, yet you couldn’t put a finger on who exactly it was. you didn’t have enough energy to turn your body, though.
the sleepless nights combined with the nightmares you got when did you manage to fall asleep created the worst sleep deprivation you’ve ever experienced. you didn’t think you had enough energy for anything anymore.
“hellooo?? pandora to crybaby! is anyone in there??” ao’nung was waving his hand in your face slightly.
“i’m not a crybaby, skxawng. this isn’t normal for me,” you defended yourself as you tried to quickly wipe your tears away, not noticing how close he had gotten when you were drowning in your thoughts.
the handsome boy you knew as ao’nung was someone you would often see wandering around the village. the boy had been looking for you. he was hoping he could catch you alone at some point so the two of you could talk. while he had seen you around a few times, you were always gone before he could even notice approach you. he also never got your name from kiri, so calling out to you wasn’t an option.
“i can tell. you look like a fierce female warrior who falls to nobody and nothing. so tell me, what’s got you stumbling?”
you had to think a little bit to understand the boy’s analogy, but you could only let out a heavy sigh once you understood it.
“that bad, huh?” he asked.
you scoffed, “i think we can consider this a fall, not just a stumble.”
ao’nung just chuckled at your response. “well, if you are going to fall over a boy who could not see the beautiful woman standing before him, fine. but please, at least let me be the handsome man who picks you back up again,” you started blushing a deep shade of blue at his words.
“do not flatter yourself, sir. handsome is being generous. you are mediocre at best.” playfully teasing each other, ao’nung keeps the joke going.
“mediocre?” the boy feigned hurt, completely fooling you in the process. since you don’t know ao’nung well, you thought you hurt his feelings.
“oh, no, i am sorry i thought we were joking around. i did not mean to hurt your feelings. eywa, can i get anything right” with how sensitive you were from the previous events this week, the tears were already starting to run down your face. before ao’nung could move a muscle, though, he noticed a woodsprite floating around your form.
there were two of them. you looked up for a second, only for your expression to fall and your eyes to widen.
“ao’nung... there is a woodsprite on your shoulder...” you whispered
“and there is one on your head,” he whispered back.
the two of you knew exactly what this meant but so suddenly? were you even ready for this? you are literally still going through the worst heartbreak in the world, and now eywa is telling you that this is who you’re destined to be with now? what about lo’ak? what about-
eywa bless this boy and his ability to drag you out of your thoughts because only she knows that you would need someone good at roping you in when you got lost in the sea of your thoughts.
“hey, look, i got filled in when i went home; i’m the chief’s son, tsireya is my sister. after we first metast week, i just wanted you to know that i understand what you’re going through. i also understand if you want to take this slow or if you’re not ready at all. regardless of what you choose, i will still be with you if you want to be with me. it would help if you had somebody on your team after all,” his charming smile sent a sense of security through your body.
at that moment, seeing ao’nung smile made you forget about all the troubles in your small world, and you finally felt what you hoped was happiness. maybe this is a good thing. you know eywa would never do anything bad to you. this, everything that’s wrong right now was the fault of lo’ak, but you refused to let him win.
lo’ak doesn’t get to be happy while you live your life miserable so you take ao’nung’s hand and say, “well, if eywa says it’s meant to be, then you really must be it for me, ao’nung.” the smirk on your face threw ao’nung through a loop because he had only ever seen you crying, but the boy wouldn’t let this deter him. he raised his large hand and wiped away any stray tears you had left.
“you are to be my tsahik.” ao’nung said as he pressed his forehead to yours. “i hope you’re ready for training, princess, because this ain’t the omatikaya clan.” you were shocked because although you refused the tsahik position in your home clan, you had dreamed of being tsahik one day. what made it so much better was that lo’ak promised you that you would be his tsahik.
not anymore.
“i thought lo’ak was next to become olo’eyktan.” you inquired.
“don’t be silly. you think i’m going to let a baby-tailed-”
“hey!”
“sorry, not you! your tail is cute-” ao’nung tried to save himself, but when he heard the giggle from you, he could tell you were joking.
“haha, very funny. you got me,” he said sarcastically, laughing alone with you.
“but, princess, you think i’m going to let some forest boy run my clan? absolutely not. i just needed to find my tsahik before becoming olo’eyktan, and my parents do not believe in arranged marriages. thankfully, eywa has finally brought you here to me, but we have just one problem.” the confidence radiating off of him was so attractive. he just oozed sexy, and you couldn’t help it. you shamelessly stared at your new promised mate, admiring all his muscles, tattoos, and personality.
the boy, who had yet to move his forehead from yours, looked into your eyes. it felt like he was looking into your soul.
like he was looking into your past.
like he was trying to read what kind of person you are.
and since you already decided that you wouldn’t love anyone the way you loved lo’ak, you let him.
you let him observe you, learn you, study your features and mannerisms, something nobody had ever done. something nobody cared enough to do.
“what is this problem you speak of, ma ao’nung.” the words felt foreign coming off your tongue, but you let it happen. you wanted to embrace this new environment, embrace this new home, embrace this new love and life that you were so graciously given by the great mother, eywa.
“i still don’t know your name, ma tsahik.” ao’nung felt the same, the words were foreign, but he had felt drawn to you the moment he laid eyes on you. he wanted you to talk him to sleep when he first heard your voice, he wanted you to be the mother of his kids, and he wanted you to be the best tsahik this clan has ever seen, right after his mom, ofc.
“my name is koa. i have no last name, and i am from nowhere. i have lost everything i love, but i’m hoping, praying to the great mother eywa, that this-” you say as you squeeze his hands in yours. “-is not for nothing. i hope that whatever comes of this new love, i will enjoy every second of it.”
“after everything you’ve been through, you deserve it, ma koa.” ao’nung said as he pulled his promised mate into a warm embrace. you hesitated before hugging back. although you’re good at flirting with your words, when it comes to physical attention, you folded. but can anyone blame you?
you had been touch starved for five years with nothing and nobody but you and your ikran the entire journey. you had not been held, caressed, or kissed in what felt like ages.
“i can’t wait to start a life with you,” he mumbled into the hug, and that sentence alone brought tears to koas eyes again, but for the first time in a while, they were happy tears.
“i can’t wait either,” you said before finally throwing your arms around his neck, causing ao’nung to fall backward into the sand. something they both laughed off and basked in.
today had been a long day, so you fell asleep together in the sand under the night sky.
Tumblr media
ao'nung's father allowed him two weeks off of his olo'eyktan duties to get to know his new promised mate, and the boy hasn't ever been happier. for two weeks, he returns to being his teenage self, riding ilus all day, relaxing on the beach, and watching the sunset. he hadn't felt this alive in years, and now he was happiest with the person he loved most. to him, nothing in life could be any link.
you agreed. although it has only been a short two weeks being here, being home, you haven't felt this way in ages. though you get your bouts of sadness whenever you have a run-in with lo'ak, your olo'eyktan has never failed to be there for you in your times of need.
and you couldn't love him more for it.
"ya' know," ao'nung started, "when i first met you, i immediately knew." having to keep his voice under a whisper because the rest of his family was sleeping.
you giggled a bit as you moved closer to your boyfriend. "knew what, skxawng."
"i knew I wanted you to be mine—tsahik or not. from the moment i laid my eyes on you, you were prettier than any of the stars in the sky, the most beautiful woman i have ever seen." he marveled at his woman. he was looking at you as if you were his entire universe.
"didn't you get down into a battle stance the first time we met." you teased.
"i did, but it was only because i was out hunting the whole day, and i had not been made aware that we had a visitor from another clan. i just saw a pretty blue warrior, and i couldn't help myself," he said with a smirk. wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you against his body as if you weren't close enough. the two of you drifted off to sleep, not a care in the world.
Tumblr media
a conversation came up one day when the sullys and the olo'eyktan's family decided to have a joint dinner.
"you know. you two should be living in your own marui." ronal said without hesitating in her actions. jake and tonowari, though, are both currently choking on their food. neytiri gasped, excitedly, "i was thinking the same thing!!"
within the next week, you and ao'nung were kicked out of his parents' marui and given your own home. ronal and neytiri said it was an early mating ritual gift, but jake and tonowari werent happy about it.
tonowari is protective of you like you're his own daughter. jake as well, so when they hear that ronal and neytiri were planning on giving you and ao'nung a marui for just the two of you to stay in, they immediately knew they would have to remain mentally preparing themselves for grandchildren. they were just protective dads, that's all. there's no harm in that.
on nights that ronal or neytiri would find their husband missing, they would know exactly where to find them. camped out in front of ao'nung and your home, ensure no babymaking was happening and it always ended the same. the half-asleep wife would drag her husband by his ear back to their home and scold them for not trusting their 22-year-old daughter.
jake and tonowari would argue that they were trying to protect their little girl from this world's harsh and cruel truths. their wives, however, argue that you're not a little girl anymore, and they want some grandbabies.
Tumblr media
“ao! i have a question for you,” you called your boyfriend, soon-to-be mate, over as he walked into your shared marui, finally home from hunting.
at first, the man didn’t answer. he silently walked over to you, draping his body over your back and wrapping his arms around your waist. he reached up to turn your face so he could give you a kiss hello. “what did i tell you about questions before my hello kiss, baby?”
you playfully rolled your eyes at him, setting aside the bracelet you made for tsireya’s newborn girl. you had befriended the metkayina girl one day when she defended you from her own mate. saying how he has put you through so much, the least he could do was leave you alone.
after that, the two of you got to talking and then apologizing. tsireya told you how she never would’ve mated with lo’ak if she knew he was taken, but you assured her that it was a thing of the past and that you were with ao’nung. of course, that led to some girl talk, and you may have let it slip that the two of you were trying for a baby. of course, she was so excited to hear the news, but you swore her to secrecy.
your boyfriend, tired of waiting for a response from you, decided to regain your attention. you had a habit of getting lost in your head, and ao’nung was never one to be upset about it. he actually thought it was cute; your brain working so hard that you forget that you are in the middle of making dinner or beading a necklace for kiri.
“ma koa, i feel like if you don’t drown in the ocean, you’ll drown in your thoughts.” ao’nung said, pinching your side to get your attention. “answer my question, yawntu.”
“kiss first, questions later.” you said, rolling your eyes again as you brought him into a kiss.
“exactly, look at my smart girl,” he said, nuzzling his face into your neck as you giggled at how it felt. the two of you fell back, curling into one another and staying like that for a while. but not long after, you broke the silence again.
“ao,’ there are some people i want to invite to our mating ceremony. i know it is not traditional to ask other clans to attend, but they are the closest thing i have to a family outside you and the sullys. do you think your father would approve?” the hopeful look in your eyes made ao’nung believe that even if his dad disagreed, he would find a way to get your family.
“i will talk to him about it, my love. i wouldn’t want your family to not be present during our mating ceremony. it might take some convincing, but i will try ma koa. now sleep.” he said as he kissed your forehead, closed the flap to their marui, and drifted off into a dream.
Tumblr media
ao’nung was on his hands and knees, begging his father and mother to invite the other clans to your mating ritual. they had given him their final answer 10 minutes ago, but the boy refused to take no for an answer.
“sa’nok
 sempul
please. they’re all she has besides us. and she can’t only invite one or two. how would everyone else feel?” the things love will make people do.
ao’nung was never one to ask twice, let alone beg. if he asked his parents for something and they said no, then oh well. if he was supposed to have it, eywa would’ve made his parents say yes. but here he was, shocking not only his parents but also himself.
“a mating ritual is a sacred ceremony ao’nung. we can not just invite whatever clans we want to ‘come watch’. it is ridiculous.” ronal said.
“they are not ‘whatever clans’ they are her family.” your mate defended.
suddenly jake sully walked into the olo’eyktans marui. “i’m sorry if i’m interrupting anything but i couldn’t help but overhear that ao’nung was asking to invite the other clans to the mating ceremony.”
“this is a family matter, jake sully. please excuse yourself.” tonowari said, remaining civil.
“well koa is my daughter so i am a part of this family. look, i’m not trying to give you guys input or advice. i just want to give you insight. on earth-”
jake was cut off by a harsh hiss from ronal but continued. “please just let me finish. on earth we have ceremonies and celebrations called weddings. it’s similar to a mating ceremony but since skywalkers don’t have queues they give each other rings and wed themselves to each other. in these ceremonies both the male and female get to invite their sides of the family to watch them officially bond with the person who they love.”
ronal and tonowari take a second to think. they knew about your past by now but not how many clans she had visited. ao’nung had not moved from his place on his knees, showing just how serious he is about having his mates’ family there. it was only a few minutes of private discussion before the olo’eyktan, and his tsahik were ready to speak up.
“how many clans are there.”
ao’nung’s head shot up, a beaming smile on his face. “eight,”
Tumblr media
it was the day of your mating ceremony. neytiri and ronal help with finishing touches, fixing your hair, straightening your headpiece, the whole nine yards. the men were over in ao'nung, and your marui helping him get ready.
you were worried sick but also frustrated, and everyone in ronal's marui could see it on your face.
"ma itetsyip, what is the matter?" neytiri said, holding your chin to look at her.
"none of the clans have shown up yet. i am terrified of mating with someone even though i've been dreaming about it since i was a little girl. i have no family to come to watch my ceremony and to make everything worse, i didn't eat breakfast this morning, so now i'm hangry." you could feel the tears brimming in your eyes.
kiri and tsireya just laughing at your dilemma while trying to keep you from messing up your face paint.
"oh dear, look straight down. koa, your tears will mess up your face paint if you keep crying!" tsireya said as she tried to fan her friends' tears while holding her baby.
"you became a real crybaby in the past 6 years, ya know that." it was only a joke, kiri trying to lighten the mood so you would stop crying, and it actually worked.
"i'm sorry, guys, i'm trying." you said, laughing at your friends' teasing through your tears.
"oh, ma koa, honey, we can always push the ceremony back if you are not ready." ronal offered, but you shook your head immediately. "sa'nu, i want to do this. i just wish i had someone to hand me off." you said with a sad look on your face. you knew jake or tonowari would do it in a heartbeat, but something in your heart told you that it shouldn't be them. it should be someone else.
while all the older women were talking and helping you out, tuk took it upon herself to pick some fruit for you. she noticed you skipped breakfast like you always had back when you all lived with the omatikaya clan. the young girl wandered around until she found the exact fruit she was looking for, immediately running to jake so he could cut it up.
coming back into the marui with the bowl of fruit that she made jake cut for her, tuk smiled as she offered it to you.
"oh, thank you, tuk. omg, it's the fruit i like, aww tuk-tuk, you remembered," you said, pulling the preteen into a hug, which she gladly returned. you smiled and quickly tried to finish the fruit before it was time for you to go out for your ceremony.
but then the clan's horns were blown, signaling an arrival or several. suddenly you can hear the screeches of banshees, the shrills of tulkun, and the chants and cries of clans people. that's when you knew your family had arrived.
you peeked out the flap of your marui pod only to see hundreds of na'vi. all from different lineages and places but still bonding and mingling with each other as if everyone here were one big family. your clans had come. all 8 of them. your family was here just for your mating ceremony.
"cry straight down, cry straight down," you reminded yourself. your mother figures couldn't help but giggle at your antics. kiri, tuk, and tsireya took the route to fully laugh at how you were acting.
"it's time," neytiri said, her and ronal looking at their little girl, all grown up, about to be mated before eywa. they couldn't be more proud of you. you surpassed the clan's expectations in the short year you had been there. you had become one of the strongest female warriors the metkayina had ever seen. you had completed your tsahik training and were finally ready to take on the world. and you were prepared to do it with ao'nung by your side.
"wait here!!" kiri and tsireya, who carefully handed her baby to tuk, ran out of the marui. it took them 5 minutes to return, but they weren't alone.
the 8 clan leaders, who took you in and cared for you, were standing before you. "your friends told us that you wanted someone to hand you off." the head of the anuri clan spoke up. it was the first clan you ever visited.
"she brought all 8 of us so you could choose which one of us you would like to walk down with." the leader of the kekunan clan spoke after.
you just smiled to yourself, already knowing who you would choose. still, before you could do anything, you noticed tiny eyes peaking at you behind the tawkami' olo'eyktans leg.
she gasped softly, "anuk?"
the second the boy heard her call his name, he rushed over to her, engulfing her in the tightest hug he could give.
"hi my little warrior, how are you? oh my you've gotten so big." you asked, scooping him up and hugging him to your chest. he hasn't actually gotten that much bigger. it was only about a few inches, but to na'vi, growth is growth.
"i miss you koa..." was all the boy could whisper. "well you are with me now, anu', okay? let's enjoy our time together." you said as you tried to set the boy on the floor, but he only clung to you tighter.
"anuk, baby you have to let go, just for now, only for the mating ceremony. then i'll come find you after okay?" the boy whined and shook his head, hiding his face in your neck.
you sighed, knowing it was hard for him to be away from the only person who helped him heal from losing his sister, so you just held him tighter
"ma koa, we have to get going soon or the village will think you got cold feet." ronal reminded her soon to be daughter in law.
with that being said, the tawkami olo'eyktan spoke up, “i'm so sorry, koa, anuk, you have to let her go. it is her special day-" he reached for his son, but the boy shied away.
"no he's okay, sir." you reassured as you held the boy in your arms.
"my poor boy. okay, come on." you said as you turned to your mothers, sisters, and the clan leaders with your head held high. this was the happiest anyone in the room had ever seen you.
"i'm ready," you said.
Tumblr media
you walked towards ao’nung while holding anuk in your arms. ao’nung, kneeling in front of the metkayinian tree of voices, couldn’t help but let his mind wonder about you having his kids and starting a family with him. you guys had been trying for a baby for a while, but it was like luck wasn’t on your side.
seeing his mate-to-be holding a child was attractive, to say the least, but he quickly brought himself out of those thoughts and refocused on the love of his life.
behind you stood eight olo’eyktans—one from each clan you visited along your journey.
the anurai clan
the tawkami clan
the kekunan clan
the hulanta clan
the li’ona clan
the ni’awve clan
the olangi clan
and the rey’tanu clan
the clan leaders always found you out in the world, taking you in and giving you shelter and a home. which is why having them hand you off meant too much to you. they all treated you as if you were their daughter and never failed to make you feel at home no matter which clan you were in. but this, the metkayina clan, is where you want your forever home to be, and in the next few minutes it will be your forever home.
finally, when you got to where ao’nung was standing, you turned to your clan leaders and, untraditionally, hugged them. it only took a few seconds for them to reciprocate it, but eventually, it was one big group hug, and all you could say was a small “thank you.” after releasing from the hug, she still acknowledged them with the “i see you” gesture.
anuk allowed himself to be set on the ground, motioning “i see you” to you. it warmed your heart, so you mirrored his actions. the boy then walks over to his father, and the ceremony begins. you sit on your knees facing ao’nung, and once you settle, every na’vi present kneels along with the both of you as they prepare to watch your ceremony.
all eyes were on you and ao’nung, and for a second, you remembered the 15-year-old who dreamed of this moment. although it isn’t with who you dreamed it would be, you would argue that the way things are now is better than any dream you’ve ever had.
you and ao’nung didn’t break eye contact the entire ceremony. jake gave the speech about two young adults becoming one, and after what felt like the longest speech ever, it finally came time for you to create your tsaheylu. all nine clans went silent so the you both could have your moment.
there was not a sound in the sky or a splash in the water. it was almost as if eywa had silenced all of the nature around you. she wanted you two to focus on each other and not on any of the sounds around you.
the moment couldn’t have been more perfect. you reminded yourself to thank jake for mixing in some earthy wedding aspects to the mating ceremony, but you quickly regained focus, bringing your queue to your front. ao’nung mirrored your action, and you both held up the ends of your braid, watching the tendrils entangle. you released a soft gasp, and suddenly, your senses went through the roof.
you can feel each other’s feelings
you can hear each other’s thoughts
you could feel each other’s heartbeat
listening to your heartbeat was like music to ao’nungs ears, but as he listened a little bit harder, he noticed something. he reminded himself to bring it up to you after the ceremony when you both are alone in your marui pod
you and ao’nung are now mated for life, and you couldn’t recall a happier moment.
once the tsaheylu was created, both parties were given a few seconds to calm down. you opened your eyes, not even realizing that you closed them, and everything seemed to go in slow motion. you felt as if your world had stopped for a second. you and ao’nung were the only two things registering in your brain right now.
ao’nung, who was just as breathless as you, asked, “my mate, can i please kiss you?” bringing his hands to cup your cheeks.
you didn’t even respond. all you did was throw your arms around his neck to bring your mate into a kiss, and ao’nung wrapped his arms around your waist as he returned the kiss.
the clans erupted into cheers and cries of joy for the two of you. it seemed as if nature, the wind, the waters, and even the animals were cheering you on.
eywa was giving you a chance to soak at this moment because your life will never be the same from here on out.
and in your opinion, that’s a good thing
Tumblr media
it was only a matter of minutes before you and ao’nung managed to slip away from the ceremony, finally having a moment of privacy
a moment to yourselves.
as you were still bonded with one another, it wasn’t hard for ao’nung to remember what he reminded himself to tell you during the ceremony.
you sensed a slight shift in ao’nungs emotions, but you couldn’t pinpoint the feeling.
“ma koa, there is something i want to tell you.” your mate said.
you were curious, allowing him to continue without interruptions.
“i noticed something during the ceremony,” he began, and the way he spoke was starting to sound like he was having doubts about mating with you. before you could drown, ao’nung sensed the heavy shift in your emotions and immediately began to reassure you.
“koa, it is nothing bad. i am in love with you and i wouldn't want anyone else as my mate okay? that is not, at all, what this is about.”
“then what is this about” was the first thing you had said to him since you two got to this private area.
“i heard something different about your heartbeat.” he said
you were confused. “i do not feel like anything is wrong, i mean my heart is beating fast but that is only because i am with you, my ao’,” you explained to your mate.
“That is not it. princess, there are two heartbeats
it is faint, but i am sure i can hear it.” ao’nung breathed.
you look at your lover to see him tearing up.
“wha
 you don’t mean
.” it finally clicked for you.
your mate hears two heartbeats in you, so that must mean

“i’m pregnant.” the words were barely a whisper.
and then you were screaming out in joy, bringing your mate into the tightest hug you could muster as he reciprocated with just as much energy.
“let’s go to my mother to confirm,” your mate said, pulling you up as you both ran back to the village.
rushing through the crowd, you finally found ronal, and you couldn’t contain your excitement.
“I'M PREGNANT!!” you shouted, and it was as if everyone had heard you because everything seemed to pause. the music, the dancing, the singing, the chatting amongst each other. everything stopped.
“is this true?,'' ronal questioned ao’nung, looking down at their connected queues.
“we were hoping you could confirm it mother,”
“come quickly,” ronal took the two of you to her marui pod so she could check if what her son and his mate were saying was true.
it was only five minutes until you three emerged.
“it has been confirmed. koa is pregnant.” ronal announced, and once again, the clans erupted into cheers and celebration, and honestly, it felt as if it was even louder this time around. Everyone rejoiced, if this day could get any better, it just did.
since you weren’t fortunate enough to have a good family growing up, you wanted to ensure that your child had the most loving, caring family imaginable. as you looked around, though, at all the na’vi mingling around the island, all the different clans joined together; you knew your child would undoubtedly have the best family anyone could ask for.

omg i absolutely love the way you write about the sully family. if it were possible and if it’s your cup of tea, i’d like to request your take on what the sullys would be like in modern day, and if you could incorporate fali and y/n’s relationship into it that would be cool.
a/n: thank you so much for the request !! this was a nice and fun one, very simple, very cute. i also warn you because i may have made this extremely american / east coast-ern based on the way i described their high school experiences , but i pray that it isn't too unenjoyable if you cannot quite relate to the east coast american high school life. hopefully you all enjoy. feedback + reblogs are always appreciated !!

sully family modern day headcanons ( feat. fali )
Tumblr media
y/n
okay so obviously our babes is literally the best older sister, no matter what universe we’re in
she’s def the type to have gotten her license as soon as she possibly could, and she most definitely saved up for car since she was little—after getting a job and money, she honestly has the best car like it's so cute and personalized for herself
y/n is the uber for the siblings—when jake and neytiri are too busy, she is the one to drive everyone around
lo’ak and spider are literally ALWAYS needing rides somewhere
as payment, lo’ak and spider have to pay for her dunkin' ( except it doesn't really matter because she always buys them donuts either way )
on car rides, as long as her parents aren't in the car, she blasts music and lets the kids fight over aux
she’s the oldest, so i assume probably a senior in high school—she is actually so smart like that gpa is popping off, and she most definitely is like vice president of the student government or something
she runs winter track because she always gets so depressed and unproductive during that time of the year, so she tries to keep herself somewhat alive
in the spring, she manages the lacrosse team ( the same team that both fali + neteyam play in bc she’s #1 girlfriend and #1 sister )
she goes to literally every sports event or school event that her siblings are in—she doesn't miss one of lo’ak’s or neteyam’s games, kiri’s orchestra concerts, or tuk’s performances. she also drags fali with her to every single of these events ( not that he minds at all )
yes she’s very smart, but she has terrible geography skills or navigational knowledge—she’s managed to get lost in the very town she grew up in
she wears the same pair of converse every single day and refuses to throw them away even though they have absolutely no support and are about to rip and expose her entire foot.
she never gets sick and she literally hates it because she always wants an excuse to stay home from school ( she is far too responsible to skip class—the one time she did in freshman year, jake found out because she was literally so awkward and nervous when she got home )
whenever she has a lunch shift with one of her siblings—which always happens at least once because she has three of her four siblings in high school with her—she always doordashes something for them ( she knows exactly where to drop it off so she doesn't get in trouble )
carries group projects
neteyam
a sophomore probably based on his age
him and kiri are in a weird amount of classes together, but they don't complain ( they always cheat off each other )
he definitely is a chick magnet just because he’s attractive and nice, and an attractive and nice guy in sophomore year is truly a treasure
the type of guy to get everything ready the night before school to sleep in more
claimed the passenger seat of y/n’s car and is always the quickest to take over aux
really good music taste
he always complains about not having money, but he’s too busy to get a job during the school year due to his full student-athlete schedule ( basketball + lacrosse )
jake loves watching his son’s games
was on jv for both teams the year before, but he made varsity lacrosse this year and the sully family went out for a celebratory dinner
terrible at english, but really good at social studies because he’s actually interested enough to pay attention
chemistry makes him want to die.
absolutely adores going on car rides with his sister because they just scream music and rant — it's their therapy session
probably is dragged to parties by his friends but just ends up being the designated driver
absolutely done with lo’ak’s bs like oml can this freshie leave him tf alone ?? ( no. )
loves days he has lunch with y/n bc they always get some chipotle or something
kiri
hello guys she is amazing in hs like she has a small group of super close friends
stoner.
crystal girl fr with those balanced chakras
took art freshman year but hated it so now just does yearbook with her friends and it's super chill
has a handshake with y/n when they pass each other in the hallway
she and neteyam have an agreement where he cheats off of her for english and math, but she cheats off of him in social studies
they struggle through chemistry together
she plays cello because she randomly started in fourth grade and just never stopped because she found it nice to have something to focus on during her time off
overloads herself with honors and ap classes and her study habits make her regret it every year ( and yet, her gpa eats every single year )
wants to go to berkeley
helped y/n decorate the inside of her car when she first got it
def the type to wear band tshirts and when guys would ask her to “name five of their songs” she would pretend to be stupid because she thought it was funny ( even though she has a very big habit of hyper fixating on different bands + probably knows more about those bands than they did )
proud to say she never joined the stranger things hype ( it's like her biggest accomplishment )
tiktok addict
tried to watch marvel with lo’ak but she didn’t understand anything and ended up falling asleep every single time ( also complained about how annoying tony stark was )
lo’ak
this man is a complete menace
freshman spaz asf
literally always late to getting ready in the morning and y/n screams at him
just learned how to put on deodorant and is now in the middle of leaving behind axe body spray
tried out for soccer because his friends were and was absolutely flabbergasted when he made jv
played basketball with neteyam over the winter and they were absolute pains the entire season ( but they actually played well together, so you win some, you lose some )
always forgets his passwords to things even though he only ever uses the same rotation of five
banned from going to the bathroom during class because of how many times he has skipped class
obsessed with marvel to the point that, just before he entered high school, y/n had to tell him, “please you need to stop. you are giving geek.”
he always trusts his big sister’s judgement, but he still always goes to opening night of every marvel movie with his friends
don't even get me started on how he bagged tsireya
fali def set them up because he knew his close family friend would look so cute with his girlfriend’s younger brother ( he was correct. )
everyone is still floored at how tsireya remains attracted to him, despite his dumb jokes and the fact that he is completely head over heels for her
he always claims he was the rizz master, but
 let’s be real
tsireya is the one who completely rizzed him up
like damn girl! that’s extremely impressive!
despite his annoying-ness, as some may put it, he is very respectful—thanks mama sully for drilling the idea into his head from birth that he must always treat every woman with respect
and papa jake who was just like, “yeah!” #feminist
lo’ak probably had an instagram that he only ever uses to post videos of him skating or something, although he occasionally posts videos of tsireya shredding it while surfing ( and he always reposts her stuff—no exceptions! )
tuk
this silly little girl
oh my goodness i love her
an absolute slay in the second grade classroom, like this girl has all the friends
and her bead crafts?? impeccable. out of this world. absolutely amazing.
totally has been sent to the principal for cussing out some guy picking on her or her friends ( thank the sully siblings for that influence )
jake definitely allows her to watch inappropriate movies with him when neytiri goes to bed early
neytiri only realized this when tuk quoted talladega nights one morning after watching an argument between her brothers ( “you've gotta cross the anger bridge and come back to the friendship shore.” )
jake was wheezing for breath
goes all out when sitting in her booster seat in y/n’s car—when her big sister blasts those lyrics, this girl whips screams out the rolled down window with her sofia the first sunglasses on
she is so cute i cannot
she’s never known a life without siblings—not once have jake and neytiri hired a babysitter
absolutely plays all sorts of kiddie sports because she wants to be just like her big brothers
complete soccer star, total baller, and a menace on the lacrosse field ( tbt to when she cross-checked someone a bit too hard )
definitely claimed the color pink and embraces it—she will argue all day with those boys who think it's a “weak girl color”
she once said, and i quote, “this weak girl color can break your arm, jimmy.” meanwhile, she swung a pink baseball bat in her hands at recess
that one got her in trouble for sure
neytiri was proud though
baby of the fam is literally going to grow to be the baddest boss
jake
he is such a military dad—i mean clearly, but especially so in this au because it's socially acceptable
he’s also so funny
has truly grown into the role of a sports dad, always smacking his lips as he rants about how they could improve their game during the car ride home after a game
neteyam and lo’ak want to kill themselves everytime
tuk takes its very seriously
he loves his girls so much
totally knows about kiri and what she does in her pastime ifykwim
he’s chill—been there, done that, just stay safe or else
keeps secrets for the kids from neytiri ( harmless secrets )
always ranting about music and stuff when music that was popular when he was a kid ( ex. beastie boys, any form of 90s hip hop or rap ) when he hears someone listening to it
was gifted the role of being the parent that takes the kids to the er if anything ever happens—based on the influx of sports in their family, stuff has happened, and he’s always there to take them to get stitches or whatever is needed
such a barbecue dad
he has tiktok, but it's full of an fyp that has food stuff and carpenter stuff
so many unfinished house projects
someone needs to save neytiri
speaking of

neytiri
i love her so much
she’s so involved with her kids’ lives ( not to an unhealthy point, she gives them space )
is thoroughly invested in her children’s events and extracurriculars
major protective sports mom energy
definitely helps run concessions and sell tickets whenever they need extra help
so much road rage. like so so much.
hates when she isn’t driving—she needs the control
will not let y/n drive her anywhere
podcasts and audiobooks are her lifeline
tea drinker for sure
always attempts to test those keto diets but gives up after like three hours
i see her as a high school math teacher
the students respect her
they fear her
she totally makes her favorite students clear and they like adore her
loyal to her keurig
cherishes her mug from mother’s day a few years ago that reads number 1 mom
has pictures of her kids on her desk
always threatens her children that if they continue to misbehave, she’s going to replace their pictures at home with the pictures of her favorite students
sometimes they can't tell if she’s joking or not
best dressed mom ever
fali
oh my goodness this man
i think i fell for my own oc help
anyway
friend of the world
everyone knows him
type of person to have good grades based on his dazzling charisma alone
super athletic
student-athletes are where it's at
always drives to school with y/n, and they take turns driving
no matter who is driving, the car is always full of him, y/n, kiri, neteyam, lo’ak, and spider ( sullys’ next door neighbor )
on the rare occasion in which all six of them don't have stuff to do after school, they all go drive to shake shack and get milkshakes and cheesy fries ( for my lactose intolerant readers, fali always has emergency lactaid in his car for you )
the employees at chipotle know his exact order because of the amount of times he has been
he’s a burrito addict ( which is gross, because of all burritos
 chipotle ?? )
fali and y/n’s favorite movie to watch together tangled, like they can recite every line together ( y/n plays flynn rider + fali plays rapunzel—they both play mother gothel, so i suggest staying far away during mother knows best )
couple goals—they were literally voted in the superlatives as the “mom and dad” of their senior class
nobody could disagree
when their team won states, y/n gave fali the biggest, cutest, most earth shattering smooch
everyone awed and took pictures
except for neteyam who just stood and watched, pretending to be annoyed that his big sister went to fali before going to him
he wasn’t that shocked though
anyway, they’re just the cutest ever

Have you watched Avatar The Last Airbender? If so, I'm curious what kind of bending you think the characters from Avatar (Blue one) would have in this universe!
omg I LOVE thinking about an avatar avatar AU (avatar squared lol) I'm so glad I got this question!
So I know some people like to base the elements off of personality when making an ATLA AU, but I want to go by tribe so-
Sky People/Avatars/Recoms= fire nation
Omaticaya= Air Nomads, except they bond with wind dragons instead of sky bison and they aren't pacifists
Metkayina= Water tribe, but tropical instead of arctic
so Jake was a firebender soldier for the Fire Nation tasked with removing a group of Air Nomads from their ancestral home so the Fire Nation could build a mine. One day, he gets separated from his squad and lost in the forest where he's attacked by a sabertooth moose lion. The moose lion is about to kill him when all of a sudden Jake earthbends and escapes the moose lion. Jake is confused by his newfound ability to earthbend and little does he know he was being watched by an airbending huntress, Neytiri, the entire time. Neytiri brings Jake to the giant tree where her people live and announces she's found the Avatar (cue theme music). The Omaticaya are wary of Jake, but Mo'at checks him out and realizes he is in fact the Avatar and announces it is their duty to teach Jake how to airbend, fire nation soldier or not, and appoints Neytiri as his teacher. Jake goes along with the teaching, because, hey, new element, but he still feels loyal to the Fire Nation.
The story progresses just like A1, with Jake going back and forth on what to do until the Colonel Quaritch, leads a group of firebending soldiers in airships in a devastating attack on the Airbenders. This pushes Jake to turn against the Fire Nation and embrace his role as the Avatar. He's joined by a few nonbender Fire Nation citizens who are sympathetic to the cause, like Grace, Norm, Max, and Trudy. While defecting, Quaritch fatally wounds Grace and the airbenders ask the spirits to save her. Grace falls into a coma, and later they discover she is pregnant. Colonel Quaritch targets a sacred tree which acts as a portal to the spirit world with the intention of doing some Zhao-The-Moon-Slayer nonsense that he believes will help the Fire Nation. Jake, with a mighty red wind dragon, leads the Airbenders in a counterattack and successfully defeats the Fire Nation and Colonel Quaritch gets dragged into the portal by a vengeful nature spirit.
Years pass, and together, Jake and Neytiri raise their family. The oldest, Neteyam, is their pride and joy, an airbending prodigy who became the youngest person to ever earn his airbending tattoos. He is also very skilled with the bow, like his mother. Jake and Neytiri also adopted Kiri, the baby born from Grace (who passed away shortly after she was born) whose father is unknown. Despite Grace being a nonbending Fire Nation woman, Kiri is an airbender. She's not the most talented bender, but she has a very strong connection to the spirit world (like Jinora). Their second son, Lo'ak, is a firebender like Jake, and he secretly wishes he was an airbender like the rest of his family. Because of his upbringing, Lo'ak has a very unique firebending technique that is heavily influenced by airbending: it's very acrobatic and involves using fire jets to let him jump around. Their youngest is Tuk, a bubbly, energetic little airbender. She loves to ride around on air scooters and befriend wild animals. And of course, there's also Spider, a nonbender war orphan of unclear parentage who became best friends with their children. Though Spider isn't a bender, he's heavily influenced by being surrounded by airbenders just like Lo'ak, and he can run and jump around so agilely he almost looks like he's airbending.
As the years pass, Mo'at encourages Jake to continue on his journey to become a fully realized Avatar, especially since she fears the Fire Nation will strike back some day. Jake, who has only mastered fire and air at this point, keeps brushing it off until it's too late.
Quaritch somehow returns from the spirit world, younger, healthier, and angrier than every before. He also now has blue fire! When he miraculously returns to the Fire Nation, he wants his wealth and status back, but General Ardmore tells him he needs to capture the Avatar to restore his honor, so Quaritch gladly assembles a team of elite nonbending soldiers to hunt him down.
Quaritch manages to capture Spider, prompting Jake and his family to flee to the tropical Water Tribe so Jake can finally start learning waterbending. The water tribe are wary of Kiri, who looks very Fire Nation despite being an airbender, and Lo'ak, who looks more like his mother but actually is a firebender, but Jake reminds them that he's Fire Nation himself, and as the Avatar, they have a responsibility to teach him. Tonowari agrees to become Jake's waterbending master and allow his family to stay with him.
Then ensues the teenage bullying and shenanigans, and Lo'ak befriends a Unagi named Payakan. He also falls for Tsireya:
"I'm a Firebender! That's all they see 😡😡😡"
"I see you đŸ„șđŸ„șđŸ„ș"
Meanwhile, Quaritch realizes that Spider is the son of one of his old concubines, making him his heir and the only family he has left, which gives him very conflicting feelings about Ardmore torturing him for information on the Avatar. Almost dying and getting lost in the Spirit World made him realize he doesn't have a legacy to leave behind. Quaritch frees Spider and then Spider challenges Quaritch to an Agni Kai, demanding that if he wins he'll be set free but if he loses he'll cooperate with Quaritch. Quaritch points out that Spider isn't a bender, but Spider grabs the equivalent of a flame thrower from one of his soldiers and yells "I said, Agni Kai, bitch!"
The battle results in half the arena being burnt down, but Quaritch wins in the end and Spider reluctantly agrees to be his translator (the nations speak different languages in this AU and spider knows air language and water language).
and then yadda yadda yadda, Jake masters waterbending, Quaritch somehow figures out where Jake is, grabs his kids, they have a big epic battle on a Fire Nation ship, Neteyam dies, Quaritch nearly drowns but is rescued by Spider, and then everyone goes home the end.
