I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before but another au based on a thing I wrote:

The Red Rabbit aka my mafia play about betrayal focused on 4 childhood friends.

We have Chloe as Jolene. She runs a speakeasy. It was the family business that almost left the family because her father didn't think she could handle it. Well, it stayed in the family. Someone has to take over after the tragic murder of her father. She did well to scrub the blood from her hands

There's Rich as AJ. The youngest leader in the city. He's pretty good at his role. His father out him up to it. Small tests of delivering packages across the town before formally initiating him into the organisation.

Brooke as River. Rich's right-hand woman. Trained assassin from a young age. Takes a little too much pleasure in what she does. A little unhinged, low-key alcoholic.

Jake as Jason. He had a normal childhood. Completely oblivious to the upbringing of his closest friends. (They do their best to keep him in the dark). He's a cop. But as he starts getting closer to cracking a murder case, his friends start to get uneasy.

And then Jake ends up tied to a chair in the middle of Chloe's speakeasy as his friends try to get him to join them.

Honestly you could swap Jake and Rich around and it could still work.
