going to hijack this post and join freely, giving out tags to anyone who wants to join. this is a long one. i will be monologuing as if this is the wisest thing any of you will ever hear.

this bad boy dates all the way back to around 2019-2020, i wanna say. however. my username used to be "derpoisderp", with different variations depending on what social media i was on. derpoiswriting, derpoisvibin, etc. etc. the list can't be traced back. i've changed them all to the current version of it at this point, which is unfortunate history loss. sad.

back when i started out on the internet, a humble bicurious gender liberal girl of whimsy, i wanted to be approachable and easy to picture talking with. everything i did and said embodied this agenda. including my username. i'm just a derp, i used to say, i don't have beef with no one. i'm here to be dumb and love my friends. don't expect much of me was in every bio i ever had, it was imperative everyone saw me as utterly harmless.

fast forward a few years later, in the years 2021-2023, i was now looking for cooler branding (and was a tyrant evil boy on the side). i looked up the name derpo because, although an outdated word, i wanted to keep it; i know how much of a perfectionist i am, i'll never find anything else to my standard. quotev is a relatively small site. with a small userbase. there were... ~3-4 other people with the name derpo. of course, i jumped on that. i was one of the few who survived, and nobody did it like me — course there was only one way after that. i declared myself derpo prime. the prime of derpos.

i assume no one else wants the title because it's "cringe" now, which is also perfect for my core deep hatred of calling things "cringe" "bad" or saying you should never get near a thing or crowd / consume a media because you don't like what story it tells you. what voice it has. i personally am a hater of many things and will tell you so willingly and bluntly, but i believe all of those things exist with me in this world for a purpose just as important / benign as mine or a reason as explainable as mine.

for example — and i state this over and over again so people are aware — i don't enjoy sanitization or purifying or the avoidance of consuming things because "bad message / topics". but there is a whole community of people who do care about the cleanness of what they consume, clearly, i've seen them (they talk shit about south park, it's inconceivable to me). and that's a different sphere than where i am. and i like that they exist, because it makes one curious and aware that this world is a big place. humans are factions within factions within factions.

anyway. if that sounds high horsey, let it be known i consume trash drama media for fun on my offtime and avoid otome games like the plague. i am very not free from casual human overexaggeration of hate / ironic love. back to topic. i also considered potentially leaving derpo at some point, keeping prime, and jutting my name into the handle for a more "sleek, professional feel".

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)

They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.

this is a list of realities i compiled from three lovely people’s dr ideas posts: ellysdreamworldd, deminetly, & lalalian. this post is a way for me to clear out my likes without having to keep track of the realities i’m interested in shifting to in a notebook i’ll lose or forget about . . .

a retro high school/college reality. this could be a reality from any decade where retro still fits. the original poster wrote 70s-00s. i feel like i partly already have this with my twilight reality, it’s set in the early 2000s. but it’s definitely something i could be interested in shifting to outside of that reality

2000s victoria’s secret angel reality. see this is weird because i am a trans man. and like . . . the parts of my body that are inherently feminine and ideal for an angel, i don’t like. however, it can be what i like so put my ideal masculine but twinkish form in some lingerie and call it a day!!

professional tourist reality. a reality where i have all the money in the world and travel the world with no responsibilities seems SO fun! but like an ideal and bigotry free world. and also i get to bring someone with me!!

vampire reality. tbh i already have a few of those . . . but i’m not in love with them. that and they’re from pre-existing media, and i want one that i can really play with and make my own and just fall in love with my own mind and life through it, yk??

royalty reality. this could be so so incredibly fun. but i fear the way i view and picture a royalty reality in my mind at the moment . . . it’s off putting. i’d need a new perspective to look at these type of realities from before trying any world building or i may genuinely give up immediately

summer camp reality. as the counselors of course. like imagine being a counselor with other hot people your age and just bouncing from counselor to counselor all summer as we all sneak around camp after curfew and just go crazy!! though i technically have a reality like this already . . . my the quarry reality is basically this because i removed all the horror game elements. i should think about it more though for sure, that why i put it here

mermaid reality. like genuinely the way the original poster described it as a the little mermaid kind of romance plot almost makes me not scared of the deep ocean aspect of this reality. but i love marine biology and marine animals so like i would realistically love this too. this is another one though, that i would need a perspective shift because right now the idea of this reality is off putting to me as well

magic university reality. quite literally just hogwarts in my marauders reality. but i haven’t scripted shit and i need to get on it. so i’m adding it in hopes that’ll change. it won’t lol

small town shop owner reality. the original poster said it was a flower shop. but the idea of it being like a small business of my choice, for example a metaphysical shop, and falling in love with the small business next door’s owner?? bonus points if it’s a tattoo artist i fall for, because why can’t fanfic tropes come to life!!

planetary romance reality. described as exploration of different planets with romance specifically with aliens. and you know what . . . i’m not gonna lie. the romance with aliens is what sold me!! call me what you want! (it’ll probably be true) but this genuinely seems like such a fun reality to get to workshop!!

eco-metamorphosis reality. described as a world being colonized by aliens but instead of rejecting them you welcome them with open arms. and i was thinking this could be so fun to imagine a world that has coexisted with aliens for generations now, a good many years after, and how that looks and what daily life would be like

ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels

there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.

anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

I decided to answer these for my original story Beast of Burden.

1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it?

Oof okay. Well, I wanna show how life can be hard and difficult and that not everyone gets a happy ending. That someone can go through so much pain and suffering alone or with someone's help. How life seems unfair to some. Also, accepting someone for who they are and love them unconditionally. Since the characters are anthropomorphic animals this fits perfectly for them. How a deer can love a wolf and not be afraid. How a predator can love their prey and not harm them, but to take care of them, protect them and love them. "Beast of burden" also means someone who takes the weight or emotional load of others' struggles, literally carrying them like a beast that carries heavy physical burdens. It can symbolize emotional exhaustion of a person who bears the pain and challenges of life for themselves or others, often without relief or recognition. So... these are the main lessons of my story: Life can be difficult, love someone unconditionally, carrying someone's pain on your own shoulders.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding?

Ooo I used so much that I can't even remember everything lmao. One of the main inspiration is Beastars definitely, that boosted my idea for this. But my story is a bit different with carnivores, herbivores and hybrids, for example the birds here are not anthro. John Wick is also a big inspiration for both some characters and the world they live in. The action and JW characters are just too good eheh. Black Butler as well, I love the aesthetic (and Sebastian hgrrvgr). And a lot more that I can't remember rn but yeah :]

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person?

I actually don't even know how the main character is because the story is so big and complicated and there are so many characters 😭. But me as the writer I wanna inspire others, show people how life can be difficult and easier for some but that with someone's help it can be better, to teach forgiveness and acceptance of someone for who they are and so on.

4. How many chapters is your story going to have?

I really don't know because there's a lot going on so... if I ever officially start it, probably a lot.

5. Is it fan fiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

It's original story and I'm already writing some fics about it here on Tumblr and I'd like to continue ^ ^

6. When did you start writing?

I'm writing since I was a kid, mostly when I was in middle school. It was about this story, some other characters from different games/movies. So yeah, for a long time :3

7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?

Writing is a beautiful way to express yourself. If you're going through something difficult, you can try and write it, whether it's putting characters through it or some other way of writing it, but it can help if it's written down. It can help process things. Even if it seems "weird" or "too much" you don't have to even share it, just write it down however you want to. And continue writing what brings you happiness, escape into that fantasy world for a break. Write that story/fanfic because no one else can do it like you! A lot of my friends here are great writers and we all support each other and that is beautiful. ^ ^

1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it? 

Don’t be an idiot and actually communicate with those you love, lol. In all seriousness, I don’t know if my story has a main theme, but there are several themes for sure. The importance of having family that loves and supports you (whether found or biological), taking back autonomy of oneself, and the importance of community.

2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding? 

Other BBU/pet whump authors! If you have written for the BBU, trust me, I have used some idea of yours as inspiration somewhere. I also use middle school me’s obsession with dystopian novels as inspiration as well.

3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person? 

All my MCs are trying to heal, in one way or another and I want my readers to connect with my characters in some way. Not really teaching a lesson or having some big, major theme, but I want my characters to feel real and connect with the readers (yes, even if you want to kill them you cannot touch Star, he is immune from death)

4. How many chapters is your story going to have? 

Hahahaha ha ha ha. . . yeah, no clue

5. Is it fan fiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? 

Original content from my brain! I post it here, and only here

6. When did you start writing? 

The minute I learned what stories were. I think I wrote my first “story” (bible fanfiction. No I will not be taking questions about that) when I was about seven or so, then my first full fanfiction at nine and I have not stopped since. 

7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?

Read! Seriously, I cannot stress this enough! Read! And not just to compare yourselves with other writers–please don’t do that at all–but read to see how others write emotion, descriptions, characters, plots! Take what you like and figure out why you don’t like other kinds of writing, then apply what you want to your own writing. Also, your writing voice will develop in time. Don’t worry about that.

A large chunk of people I follow are writers! Can’t list all of them here, but they know who they are and their writings have inspired and shaped both my style and my content. Ilyasm!

Hello Stray community! After two months of work, I'm excited to bring your attention to this video!

Someone by the name of "Балвд лыжыэфэф" on YouTube extracted over six hours of music and ambience from Stray's game files. This is an amazing resource, full of extended tracks, ambience, and cut content.

What it lacked, however, were time-stamps. The description included a list of all the audio files that were extracted, but nothing to indicate when a track ended or began, nor where it played in-game.

So, I did all that! Almost every track in this video is now time-stamped, with listings that show where everything plays in-game. I made a comment that listed everything as it appears in the video, and one that lists everything as it appears in-game. I also made a list of some motifs. I couldn't help myself.

This was a lot of work, and I'm so thrilled to share it with you all. If you're looking for a song that was never or only partially included in the OST, you'll find it here! And if you find any mistakes, please let me know! Enjoy!
