VEILED HEARTS OF COURT — ACT I: PART 1

SYNOPSIS. You are a noble lady thrust into a treacherous game of politics and love in a world of deceit and danger. Forced to win the heart of the first prince, you stumble upon unexpected allies and enemies within the palace walls.

You stand in front of the crew members, gaze fixing on the city coming into view as the biting wind whipped off the Blue Sea, carrying the scent of brine and the promise of a storm. Your ship is supposed to arrive a day prior; however, the uncertainty of the sea delays it. Your fingers lace your leather jacket, jerking it tightly around your body, its weight a familiar comfort and a constant reminder of the burden you carry.

When the ship approaches the shore, the crew members are scattering around the ship to safely land. Almost every door of the ship is being opened and closed except for one: Thane Ragnar’s.

The said man and the city’s entrusted advisor, Daehyun Jang, slowly comes out of the room, the one arm holding up your captain does go noticed. Thane’s expression softens when his eyes land on you and beckons you toward him with open arms. You run to him without hesitation.

“My blood, how’d you get so beautiful?” he rasps out, palm calmly stroking your hair with adoration. Your head instantly leans into your father’s embrace.

“Dad, you’ve asked me that four times today.” You giggle, lightly smacking his arm. Thane lets out a chuckle and pulls back from the hug, his hand doesn’t let go from holding yours, in fear that this moment might be the last time he’ll ever hold you, his daughter, his blood.

“A year has passed. A full year with Advisor Daehyun Jang boarding our ship, a full year of peace and it is our greatest pleasure to contribute to a better future, isn’t that right?” Thane’s voice holds authority and the crew members bow their heads.

Daehyun Jang clears his throat while waving his hand dismissively. “The year has been well, Sir Ragnar. I’d love to stay a little longer but there’s a kingdom and a King and Queen I must attend to. I’ll send in the carriages for your people and Lady Y/N to enter the city. Now, if you’ll excuse me.”

With a handshake between him and your father, Daehyun Jang quickly—though he tries to mask it—scurries off the ship.

You scoff, clasping your arms across your chest in disbelief. “That man is full of shit.” You spit out, words lacing with disgust. “Don’t you see the way he just dismissed you like that, Dad? How dare he even speak to us, worse yet, board our ship!”

Before your father could let out a word, a crew member runs up, kneeling before him as he’s shaking profusely. “Advisor Daehyun Jang informs that the rides will arrive in about a few hours.” Thane glances over at you before humming in acknowledgment.

“Get up, son. Show me your face.” Thane says with the same authority, but this time it’s softer and welcoming. The crew member shakes his head, “I dare not, Captain Ragnar.”

From the way the kneeling person is still violently shaking, Thane squats down and gently places his finger under his chin to lift the man’s head. He gasps at the sight and quickly calls for a nurse.

“You’re hurt! Who’s done this to you? Tell me!” Thane exclaims, a hidden anger building inside him. The man could only shake his head again, “I dare not speak of him, Captain.”

Your father scoffs as you approach the man, your expression is filled with pity. “Of course, that little shit still thinks they’re higher than us. Of course, he’d hurt people like us—whatever that means.”

Your father’s head snaps toward you though you can’t understand his feelings. “Nonsense! Don’t speak of that. We’re just like them, the city people, Y/N. Don’t bring that attitude here,”

“I’d love to know if they do!” You frown, upset at his words. “Why are you still protecting them? Why can’t you be angry at them, instead of sniffing the dirt they spit on? I’m tired, Dad. We all are! Aren’t—aren’t you?”

Your father arises when the nurse arrives to tend to the man’s injuries. He gives you a hard stare, hands stuffed inside his pockets before he turns around. You note the slight limp in his footsteps.

“I’ve been long tired, Blood. The moment I came out of my mother’s womb, I was tired. The moment you came out your mother, the love of my life’s womb, I’ve been long tired.”

You sigh at your father’s stubbornness of not acting on that feeling, but you still bring yourself to his side, guiding him back to his room. Your father pats your shoulder and you gently lay him on the bed.

His finger laces your face when he looks at you, the same adoration that holds your shit together. The look that keeps you from committing a rampage of sins.

After settling your father to do his own thing, you turn to walk out but your father knows. He knows you’ll be gone for a few hours before the rides arrive doing god knows what. Thane shuffles into bed before addressing you.

“You don’t have to come back, ya know. Ain’t no one stopping you from running away, not even me.”

You know. You know your father is taunting you, worse yet, you know he’s testing your ego. Curling your palms into a fist, you fix your eyes on the glowing evening lights of the city ahead.

“I ain’t like you, Dad.”

Thane lets out a loud crackle of laughter, followed by clapping at your words.

“You are Ragnar’s blood. My blood. You’ll always be like me, even if you wield it differently.”

When you get back to the ship after wasting your time at a nearby tavern, there are many carriages, one specifically catches your eye. It’s red on the outside, most definitely cherry red. One can mistake it as a marriage carriage if you don’t comprehend that it is for your father and you.

Your father waves you over when he sees you heading toward them. His smile is bright, blinding, deceiving everyone but you. He hooks his arm around your shoulder to bow at the men handling the horses of the carriages.

Rolling your eyes, you clumsily bow, fighting the urge to spit at their boots when your father furthers down your head.

“Thank you for your generosity, kind sires of the city. The name’s Thane Ragnar, this here,” Your father gently shoves you with his shoulder. “Y/N Ragnar. My daughter, my blood.”

What seems to be the leader (of the little shits) steps forward and lowers himself in a ninety-degree bow. He lifts his head and before anyone else can catch the widening of his eyes, “The name’s Seungcheol Choi. Commander of the Royal Military.” he says.

Your father reaches his hands for a handshake with a head nod. Dad is pleased. Dad is fucking pleased! You want to groan out. The respect this Seungcheol Choi is giving to them is the bare minimum for fuck’s sake, and your dad is pleased! The Captain of the damn ship is pleased!

Seungcheol moves to the side and signals you both inside the carriage. “For you, Captain, and Lady Y/N.”

“Thank you, Seungcheol. It’s nice being called Captain from you.”

When passing Seungcheol Choi, you didn’t forget to gently swing your luscious, long, and braided hair at him and boarded the carriage. You miss the slight smile gracing Seungcheol’s lips as he climbs onto his horse and starts toward the city.

Just great, you think to yourself as your father whispers about how cold and delicious the city’s water is and that he has barely gotten to drink this back when he visited. You close your eyes, ignoring his excitement, and try to gain the sleep you lost on the ship.

Anxiousness fills your stomach like storms on the sea, but this one’s not calming at all. You feel like going insane from it.

Because truly, what more of a bare minimum do these people need to give to your father before he starts eating the dirt they spit on? Probably one more action before the great Thane Ragnar laps behind these disgusting pigs like a bitch.

You pull the leather jacket tighter when the soldiers lead the crew members, your father, and you come face to face with the infamous royal palace. Somehow the air becomes gnawing cold that mirrored the dread gripping in your heart.

For weeks before arriving in the city, you argued against your father and his decision but to no avail. Thane Ragnar, your father, is a man of his word and you’ve seen it first-hand—a sight that still knocks on the doors of your core memory.

The soldiers stop in their tracks and motion you forward before building a human wall between you and the rest. “Commander Choi will be leading Lady Y/N to her place set by the King and First Prince. The rest will be following me. The royal court will be needing your attendance bright and early tomorrow.” He commands.

Your father’s calloused palm grips tighter in yours, pulling you into his embrace. To outsiders, it seems like a wholesome father-daughter moment. However; to insiders, it is a warning.

"Remember what I told you," he breathed, his voice barely audible above the wind's howl. "Be respectful, be obedient, and for the love of the Allfather, don’t argue.”

You nod curtly, your own voice refusing to form. You are aware of the stakes. Disobeying a royal summons was an act of treason, punishable by exile or worse. And your blood, the blood of a captain’s daughter, was far less precious than the King's.

Your father’s words ring in your head as Seungcheol guides you past the big gate of the royal palace.

You are the blood of Ragnar. The blood of Thane Ragnar.

“Do your people like to flaunt your wealth like bunches of whores?” You innocently glance at Commander Choi, not bothering to thank him for holding the door open.

He doesn’t say anything except shrug. You snap your finger in realization, “Right!” You exclaim, “You people do charity work for the poor, don’t you? Or is that another way to flaunt?”

“Lady Y/N Ragnar.” Seungcheol’s voice is steady, locking his eyes deep into yours. He clearly doesn’t seem to humor your outburst as he continues to walk but you couldn’t care less.

“Ah, you people are weird, aren’t you? Saying that you’ll provide for the poor and protect the weak, yet here is the grand commander of the royal military escorting a mere animal like me!”

Your laugh rings throughout the hallway of the place you’re being led to but it is quickly shut up. Seungcheol stops walking, causing you to crash into his broad back. Rumbling out curses, you shove him out of your way before wiping your clothes, in hopes that no smell or any remnants of Choi’s being remains on you.

“I respect your father, Lady Y/N. I respect his title and his work for the kingdom, but you.” Seungcheol continues, his words cutting deep into you. “You, I don’t know you. No one in the kingdom knows you as an individual—only the daughter of Thane Ragnar. So as a nobody, I suggest you pipe it down while you can before it comes back biting you in the ass.”

You cock your eyebrows at him, “Bite me.”

You make yourself look larger, puffing out your chest and raising your shoulders as the words spill out. No way in hell are you backing down from a challenge, especially with someone with power—the type of people you despise with your whole being.

Choi, on the other, only barks out a mocking laughter before placing his hand on your shoulder, pushing it down without force yet it still falls.

“You are going to be here for a while, Lady. Make it less painful for yourself, yeah? You’ll live longer that way.”

Pushing his hands off, you strip your jacket off and throw at him before continuing to walk. “I suggest you keep those pretty lips of yours sealed. I’d hate to be the only living one here, right?” You glance back with a sweet smile though the brightness of it doesn’t reach your eyes.

Seungcheol sarcastically raises his hands in defeat and places them behind him. “Doesn’t sound that hard, unlike someone who’s been chattering my ears away the moment she arrives. But who knows who she is!” He says, but that damn smile reaches his eyes. Clenching your teeth, you ignore his remark and turn around.

“You’re walking in the wrong direction, by the way,” Seungcheol shouts to you.

And that might be your last straw. You’ll be ripping Seungcheol Choi’s head and propping it in front of the city’s gate by morning, you swear to yourself before turning your heels toward the man who’s walking further and further away.

To your luck, he doesn’t even bother to look back, and that might just be his fault—not yours.

mike’s behavior shift & byler endgame confirmation

little yap moment (long rant):

just to start, i wanna say that i was a m*leven lover from s1-s2. given i was young asl, it was a wonderful ship for kids, but as i’ve grown and gotten more into analyses for media it has become clearer to me why my dislike of mike wheeler’s character despite my love for him originally, actually came from a lack of understanding.

so yeah, i truly think the moment i started developing my own byler agenda was in season 3. i had always known that will was queer, season 1 episode 1 with joyce and episode 4 with troy, it was just so clear to me. but i never saw it actually developing into a love story, i actually saw it as a little bit of queerbait when i saw the “crazy together” scene (ik crazy to say but i was also literally 11). but season 3, was like a huge smack in the face that oh mike is 100% the queer one WITH some kind of feelings towards will. i love how we as bylers joke about it? but truly will’s feelings for mike were so masked it’s insane to me.

back to my rant, i was a little caught off guard by mike’s CRAZY behavior switch from likable friend and leader to el’s personal make-out buddy and actual hater of his own best friends (mind you mike was always my favorite character originally, he was the protagonist that was a little unlikable but that’s my favorite kind of character). it wasn’t until my rewatch recently that i totally clicked for me again that mike was so in love with will, i can’t remember who mentioned it but mike inviting will to his house after el dumped him was absolutely unnecessary, lucas was needed but mike just had will there because of his genuine need for will to be there. rain fight outburst and post breakup crawling back to will was so clear that mike valued will on a level unbeknownst to anyone else around him. even beyond the el breakup, mike is lowkey such an ass to everyone else 😭. he needed to be guided by everyone else to apologize to el, lucas, and dustin. but will was like air to mike, he breathes will, the second he hurts will, he immediately crawls back to him because he knows at the minimum that will’s feelings are greater than his own arrogance.

and now season 4? there are so many wonderful analyses out there regarding mikes straight up queer behavior, but i really feel like this season is what fully converted me. btw i was still afraid of this possibility of queerbaiting, i had a strong feeling that maybe i was still reading into it too much but when will’s feeling were CONFIRMED in the first like minute, i knew in that moment that byler endgame was real. like i said above the way will’s queerness was clear to me was no shock, but seeing it be visually shown that he was IN LOVE with mike i was truly convinced in that moment that this was it, they were setting them up to be THE endgame couple. (ps i had NOT interacted with any byler content until very recently, i just had this instinct). and after now having read the analyses and rewatch the season again, i literally felt like my eyes were opened and like the show was spelling it out for us. the california plot line being the MOST boring without byler development, the fights and apologies, the heart to hearts, and van scene all just either fed my confirmation bias or proved to all audiences that this is what we need to be looking at. it is insane that season 4 has like 6 incredibly byler focused deep moments and there’s still byler doubt in my opinion. anyways yeah back to my original point the complete decline in mike’s character development the last two seasons completely confirmed it for me in my most recent rewatch. there was no reason to absolutely nerf his character like that, and if they do set up m*leven endgame, i actually will have lost respect for the duffers but also for my favorite character. but i have full faith that this show would not destroy everything it spent the last decade building up to.

TLDR: byler endgame is imminent and as a once byler skeptic and even m*levin fan, i cannot wait to see this story wrap up in season 5. i need the trailer, actually the whole season but the trailer will do for now.

YES! LOVE ranting furiously about a show. Like it pisses me off so much. I can't get enough of it. Everyone should watch.

That's such an interesting point, too, because yeah, that's the entire premise of the idea, no? At least the start? Evil Superman, with bootleg copies of agencies and Leagues and heroes, outright banking on audiences' general knowledge of these to skip out on some important groundwork, world-building wise to me, but don't really take advantage? Like why really explore Evil Superman, son of colonizers, and bootleg Justice League? Even just for comedy purposes, like why not? I haven't seen that video in a while to bring up any specifics (+ I am a diehard Batman fan than Superman) but truly!

Man, you make me wanna rewatch Justice League for those team dynamics and YEAH, stuff like Martians being shapeshifters! That's fun and so COOL! I also just plainly love their dynamics and interactions. Watching some snippets and clips myself, it tickles me how much of Batman's standoffish-ness could be used for Nolan, if they wanted to show team dynamics. I want it so bad. Off topic somewhat, but went down a youtube clip rabbithole and ended up seeing one of my favorite action sequences for animated movies, Madagasar 3's driving scene, and MAN, I wish we got like a fun fight or action scene for Invincible as well. Well aware there's a big diff of genre, general tone, but ONE TT or GoG scene that play off powers and personalities in a fun way would be everything to me. Internally sobbing I'm not an experienced storyboarder/animator to storyboard it myself.

Lazy shipping will forever be the bane of my existence, because I don't care so violently but it'll refuse to be ignored, and LIE to my face about how much these characters MUST be in horribly love, while having the audacity to be boring. Literally get this off my screen. Please go on your gift of jewelry rant by the way, I've already expressed the "get OTHER characters to lazily comment about how these two characters are LOVEBIRDS!" makes me consider abandoning humanity for the woods. JUST WRITE THEM LIKING EACH OTHER. GENUINELY. HAVE A CONNECTION. and for the love of all things entertaining, don't make it BORINGGGGG. But seriously, the fact Mark can't get a DAMN BREATHER, like is Eve a rebound like??? And the refusal to explore their potential and bond makes my ass itch. Like, ethics!!! Superheroism!! Shitty family!!! CHICAGO! Literally the fact they're not in groups like YOU said!

Just have them fly together tbh, like easy short hand of longing looks and excitement together is flying together. Showing off tricks and eventually talking or something.

Mark outright not improving drives me utterly insane. We OPEN with him improving and then nerf him immediately. Throwing my TV. TRULY I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY EITHER DIDN'T GO FOR THE OTHER HEROES from the START. Eve, you are an experienced hero, unlike Mark, who JUST got SOME training that's clearly strength based, not strategic. Literally just elevating the danger/situation and using characters' flaws could have been so beautiful but NOOOO. Like, have Mark struggle focusing on both protecting AND fighting, (lethal enough to kill the monster, but careful a giant monster doesn't fall on top of the trapped heros for example), or flinging a monster into the ground / getting smacked and the ceiling collapses faster. Now, Eve's gotta deal with a crumbling ceiling AND rescuing them, maybe she's even rusty working with a team! Heck, have Eve direct Mark to rescue instead of fighting, and he struggles not stepping into the fight, or gets distracted by approaching monsters?

ALSO HECK? JUST USE ANOTHER VILLAIN? You're telling me the original GoG didn't have some seriously menacing, intelligent, heavy hitting supervillains who wants to eliminate the newly weak GoG??? The one that even said they're BAD at teamwork?? How has the dismantling of the GoG not created a whole power scramble of villains trying to prove themselves by taking out the NEW GoG???

Also FOR REAL. CAN DEBBIE BE A WHOLE PERSON PLEASE? Like, how is part of the Super Hero Family Drama: The Show, and we don't even know her HOBBIES? WHO IS THIS WOMAN????? How are we on s3 and I still don't know. Utterly insane. Slow the fuck down, I don't care about some stupid mummy curse of the last episode of s2, a weird alternate Eve demanding her teenage crush to confess to her after he thought he was gonna die in a desert, or the Lizard League, but I DO care about who these characters ARE so I can feel more about the stakes!

Invincible (barely resisting to bash my head into the wall in rage) & Invincible (giggling, kicking my feet, gasping in delight) can function in the same breath istg.

That's exactly why I want Cecil as a mentor so fucking badly 'cause it's like quasi Dad/mentor would sacrifice this mf in a heartbeat, like immediately interesting. Plus the dread of a another inevitable betrayal would be chef's kiss! Plus I'm surprised he hasn't tried it like??? This mf never tried the whole "catch more honey with vinegar" approach? Mark's a kid with too much on his shoulders, he is outrageously In-Need-Of-A-Mentor-Shaped. I mean, we're dealing with Viltrumites and potential Omni-Man Junior, I'd want that kid to trust me, believe me, so I'd know if something's off. Keep your potential emotional unstable nuke closer rather than farther and far less irritable, perhaps? Attempting to slowly chip away at a oneshot as we speak tbh. But again, no GDA counselor/therapists to be snitches? Where's the paranoia, invasive plans, here?

No fr, like ???? She has unexplained beef with him and never tells Mark to avoid him, or even a classic "I told you so"???? Like, another setup and we just??? Don't do anything? You already think he's a liar??? Gimme Debbie eyeing the babysitter, trying to check for microphones/cameras more often or something. Do something with this, I BEG.

Also hitting that on the nail here, I was writing a WIP and Mark kills a guy and I'm just kinda scrambling cause on one hand Cecil doesn't want Mark TOO cool with killing he's uncontrollable, but also this is good if Cecil wants Mark to kill people. And I'm just staring at my screen like ?????? Like give me mentor Cecil so I know how he would act for fanfic, for it for me specifically.

Aso insane over the fact Mark's moment of paralleling his Dad doesn't go farther enough for me, like this is the moment for shit to go crazy and it's GOOD enough for me to feel insane but lacking enough for my insanity to triple of what could have been??? I am this close to adding another WIP of just fun what-ifs/scene rewrites for my own sanity! Like, why not have Mark slamming his fist into the ground while he's got the shriek in his ears? Slamming his head in agony just to make it stop? Or even clawing towards Cecil, on the ground, eyes burning with hatred from the pain? I would fucking love a moment of Mark trying (but still failing) to walk, crawl, move, while in pain to ADD to the scene, even if he just stumbled back down and writhed on the floor.

While I'm not too familiar with the DCU- your batfam meta posts are intiguing- so in transfering some of the broader strokes from them- I think you tackling a 'Mark isn't Nolan's biological son' fic would be fascinating. Sort of a step to the side of the 'what if Mark never got his powers' fic that sometimes pop up in the fandom

OOOOOO chewing on this currently, hm, the much a distinct flavor of exactly what you’re talking about, but the potential for more family drama depending on WHO knows. Does Mark know?? Is he waiting every day only to be crushed? Does he confused non-Debbie features with Nolan’s? I suppose I’m not the most enthusiastic about non-power AUs, but I think there’s something very fun to explore about Mark having to settle with, if he knows all his life, he will never have powers? I think the trajectory of his dreams will obviously shift, I can see him still having that distinct fatherly idolization, but perhaps embraces being useful to the GDA? Cecil’s number one intern—only intern—curtesy of nepotism, ha! There is something tickling me about Mark taking the Robin Route/Role for the Teen Team in terms of having no powers, just insane skills, BUT there’s something way more delicious about intern Mark when s1e01 happens and Mark tries snooping around to find out the truth about what happened to his Dad.

I wonder if, with Mark having a whole another father, if they’re more or less distant relationship, depending on WHEN Nolan entered Mark’s life? Like if Debbie met Nolan later for this, or just for fun, they dated once, separated (Mark being born during then), then they happened to stumble into each others lives again and Mark’s already been born, anywhere from tween to teenager so there’s a gap in how close they are. I feel like one important aspect of the whole Family Drama is how close they’re supposed to be, a functional, loving family turned upside down? So I wonder what more distance does. I wonder how Nolan copes when his family is entirely human and he can’t project onto Mark.

I love thinking about these, omg.

it's sometimes so silly to look in the notes of a polyamory art/post and see people like "is this cheating art....?" when the characters in canon are all extremely close friends. i know it's not malicious because most people think of monogamy as the default and anything outside that Must be cheating, but truly i'm always like. guys. guys Please.

please think about this for like 2 seconds.

under what circumstances do we think this non-canon couple might hold hands directly in front of their canon partners. and under what circumstances do we think the canon partners might be okay with this. do we Truly think this is a secret relationship. do we Truly think these guys would sneak around behind their canon partners' backs when all of them are extremely close friends with a high level of trust and commitment to each other.

would assuming that these extremely close friends have actually communicated with one another Exactly The Same Way They Do In The Canon Source Material perhaps cause less despair.....

Ophelia X H’aanit was one of the first ships I ever had. They inspired my common character pair in my D&D campaign with a timid magic girl and an extroverted strong girl.

As for actual reasons, they’re so cute together. A whole travel banter they spend complimenting each other, saying they should talk more, their faces go hard red, it’s so stupid cute.

Their character archetypes are so perfect too, H’aanit is a hunter with unbending care for the natural order of the world, but she can get hurt a lot in her battles with the big monsters that threaten the balance of the forest. And Ophelia is great at handling people, she wants for people to get along more than anything else.

Ophelia’s patient and meticulous where H’aanit can be reckless in her goals. Ophelia is a solid healer while H’aanit can take the hits. Ophelia can be naive while H’aanit and Linde can read bad people like an open book. They’re perfect supports for each other.

Their relationship doesn’t have to be anything major, I imagine them like they go to each other for help first, they do just about everything an actual couple does but they never wanted to put up the label, so everyone else just considers them good friends, but the other travelers know how close they are.

I love the thought of Ophelia dealing with a haunting situation like the hostage situation in her chapter 3, coming home to the others and H’aanit and Linde just comfort her with their presence, no words need to be said.

I could also talk about some of my other favorites- Hikari X Partitio, Castti X Throne, and of course Temenos X Crick. But I’ll save that for another day

I feel like the Calypso and Leo ship deserves more attention. Just reread those four chapters, it's ADORABLE.

She immediatly hates him, so the raft doesn't come. As they warm up, he says he'll come back for her, no matter the cost. The raft comes to shore because no one's ever tried to come back for her in all her life. I mean COME ON that's just beautiful.

On one hand, I want a final fantasy 6 remake, because the game is criminally underrated and the amount of fan content (which is all absolutely fantastic btw) is Not Enough for my neurodivergent, hyperfixating brain.

On the other hand, that would inevitably encourage more people to join the fandom, which would be great, except it seems these days the bigger a fandom gets the more toxic it becomes, and I really like what we have going on over here in our little corner. We all just love the game and its characters and nobody fights about who should and shouldn't date who or who you shouldn't like because they're ~problematique~. Nobody's trying to make one ship morally better than another, nobody's calling anyone names or threatening to doxx people who don't agree with their opinions. It's so peaceful and I love that for us. I’m a huge Multishipper and find the merits of almost any Ship for Bob’s Burgers. I’ve seen so many good content for so many lovely ships!! Here are some of my favorites (and the blogs that produce the best content for these ships):

Tina/Josh is so underrated, in my opinion. The show did make it so they’ll never be canon (probably), and Josh didn’t get nearly enough screentime, but I think they’re adorable. I loved them so much in Linda-Pendant Woman, with Tina pulling a Prince Charming and trying to find who Josh’s bandaid belonged to. And their Fresh Feed kiss!! Tbh, I kind of ship them the most (please don’t come for me) and they’re super cute. But the show’s most likely not going to do anything else with them. They have a ton of potential, and I wish they spent more time fleshing Josh out as a character. If they had, this ship had the potential of being as good or even better than some of the other ships with Tina. I also definitely headcanon Josh as Bi. That boy is not straight in my opinion.

Tinimmy is such a classic, I adore it and all of the lovely content that @drawthethingdoppelganger and @jimmyjrsmusoems have put out. These two are the absolute Tinimmy Queens, so if you want Tinimmy content, go to their blogs immediately!! It helps that this ship is basically canon, and Jimmy Jr. is such an awkward dork 😭 He doesn’t know how to express his emotions, but he does care so much about Tina despite what some people say 😒 It’s so frustrating when people always put J Ju down because of one episode (V For Valentine-Detta). Yes, it was a jerk move, but he’s a flipping middle schooler!! And it wasn’t even that bad, anyway. And one bad move doesn’t erase all of the lovely things he’s done for Tina. Like finding her Barrecklace and saying it made him think of her?? Wanting to do a Sky Kiss with her?? Agreeing to go on a date to Pie in the Sky even though he’s not really a fan, and inviting her on a completely genuine date to Fro-Yo Mama?? Come on, these two are adorable. And they deserve a coffee date sometime if DT’s recent art is anything to go by. I also headcanon Jimmy Jr. as Bi sometimes and a heavily closeted Gay boy other times. It kind of depends how I’m feeling, pffffft. @br1ghtestlight has headcanoned him as Aro/Ace, and that’s a fun and valid interpretation too, but I usually feel as if he does have some sort of interest in Tina romantically. I’m not sure. I guess it depends??

Zekina is so cute even though I don’t ship it as much as the other two. Zeke wanting to take Tina on a date to the aquarium and then out for tacos is just so adorable!! But it always annoys me so much when people say that Zeke is obviously the better choice for Tina and is always nicer to her and always has her best interests at heart. Like, Zeke is a sweetheart, but he’s had his moments of not being great to Tina. He’s a teenager just like Jimmy Jr. He’s not obviously the better choice for her just because he suggested that date of tacos and touch tanks. Zekina is lovely, and I respect anyone who ships it and makes content for it. I definitely see the appeal. But people really need to stop coming for Jimmy Jr. Yes, I will keep yelling about this forever 😭 Anyway, if you want some of the best Zekina content, you must go to @theangrypomeranian’s blog right now. You should absolutely read Baby Steps!! I started it but haven’t gotten far because of the length, but everyone should go read it and support them!! @br1ghtestlight has also written a Tina and Zeke fic (though they might just be platonic there) that I still haven’t read yet, but everyone should go read that too.

Zeke/Jimmy Jr., aka Zesto (not sure if that’s their actual ship name, but it should be) is great. It has so much potential, and I ship it a ton. I tend to ship Tina/Josh and Zeke/Jimmy Jr. the most, not because of Jimmy Jr., but because those are the ships I just enjoy the most and I think have the best potential/chemistry. But plenty of other ships have lovely potential and chemistry too!! Anyway, these two can be read equally well as platonic besties, but them being together romantically intrigues me. It would be a ton of fun, I think. They would definitely be a chaotic couple, but a cute one. I mean, Jimmy Jr.’s reaction when he thought Zeke would start going to a different school?? He was so stressed!! And Zeke always wanting to wrestle with J Ju as a sign of affection? And agreeing to do things like help J Ju get a chicken nugget in his mouth? I love.

Genecadero is adorable and @dianadeadwing has made such cute artwork for them. Gene doesn’t have many ships, and I probably enjoy this one the most. It’s definitely a rare pair. Gene deserves a cute romance with a sweet partner!! It’s weird to me when people sometimes say that Gene is too young for that when the show already tried giving him a straight relationship with Courtney. Yes, they broke up, but still. The showrunners are clearly open to giving Gene a relationship. I love the idea Diana brought up of Peter not-so-subtly having a crush on Gene and Gene just not getting the hints. But I like to think he becomes super lovestruck and a super doting partner when he’s older.

I’m cheating and putting Gene/Alexis (I came up with a super cute ship name for them now now I can’t remember what it is ☠️ Does anyone want to help me come up with one??) on here, because I was like “Welp, if others don’t want to give Gene many ships, I’ll make one myself!” I’ve grown very attached to Alexis as an OC, and I’ve suddenly realized he has similarities to Alex 😭 I imagined them both as being voiced by Thomas Middleditch, their names are similar, and are both kind of nerds. But I think that’s where the similarities end. I definitely wanted Alexis to stand out as a character, and I think he’s still different enough from Alex. Anyway, I can’t help but talk about these two, they make my heart sing. I will never get tired of making content about them or just rambling about them like here.

Gene/Sasha is such a rare pair, and the enemies to lovers potential?? Amazing, actually 🤌🏼 If this ship wasn’t so rare, I think it would have Louigan potential, tbh. I love the idea of these two talking more and bonding, because let’s be real, Sasha is 1,000% not straight. Just look at him. Their ship also kind of reminds me of Dipcifica from Gravity Falls, with the rich kid potentially opening up and becoming a better person thanks to someone else’s influence. I just love a good Enemies-to-Lovers romance, and the potential they have for banter is immaculate.

Ahhh, Roudise (aka Louwheeze, which is an incredible ship name), is just the cutest thing on earth, I adore it. I love a good Friends-to-Lovers, and I think I just have them on the brain because of Roudise Week. They’re just adorable and basically canon like Tinimmy. I probably ship them the most?? They just make me happy. I love how Rudy brings out Louise’s softer side, and Louise helps bring Rudy out of his shell. Their friendship is precious, their potential romance even more so. I just have a lot of thoughts about these two, they make me happy. Also, Louise slapping Rudy after kissing him in Bob, Actually sends me every time. If you want some of the best Roudise content, go to @ltwharfy and @devilh0rnsinc. Their Roudise content is just so lovely!!

Louigan!! This ship is great too. I don’t understand why people who ship it get blocked. There’s so much potential there!! Again, Enemies-to-Lovers is one of my favorites. And their potential for banter?? Amazing. Incredible. No notes. If you want the best Louigan content, you must go to @babsvibes immediately. I started reading Stacy’s Cardamom, which is basically her Magnum Opus. I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s incredible and everyone should go read it. She’s truly the Louigan Queen and got me interested in this ship in the first place. And she was kind enough to invite me onto the Louigan Discord, which has been an absolute blast (even though I hardly share anything Louigan on there ☠️). I want to change that and make more Louigan content. I have a lot of ideas. Y’all better watch out if Louigan Week happens again next September 👀 Louigan Week was also amazing this year!! Everyone show Babs some love for running that incredible event.

Louissica is cute and has potential. I feel as if it’s quite similar to Roudise as a cute, charming Friends-to-Lovers. But Jessica just needs to appear more and be more developed as a character, because she just hasn’t appeared enough for me to have as many thoughts about this ship as all of the others I’ve listed so far. I loved them hunting for that Wharf Monster together, that was such a fun side plot. And them bonding at Louise’s sleepover when she’d driven everyone else away.

BOBLIN. If there’s a ship from this show I love the most, it’s Boblin, no contest. There’s a reason my very first ask to DT was Boblin-related. But I’ve rambled about them enough, so I’ll try to keep this short, pfffffft. They’re an example of a couple that’s as close to perfect that I’ve ever seen. They’re so sweet you’ll get a cavity, they’re domestic, and they’re ancient as hell muppets. What else could you want?? I love how their love stems not just from huge, loud, romantic gestures. It also stems from more quiet, subtle moments. Like Bob massaging Linda’s feet. Or Linda deciding to give Bob a quiet night in for his birthday, because she realized he’d enjoy that the most. Or Bob making her a heart-shaped pancake on Valentine’s Day. You get the idea. If you want the best Boblin content, then @jimmypesto is your girl. She’s written some of the best BB fics I’ve read, and the way she writes Boblin is unmatched. She’s such a talented writer, it’s insane. She’s also written a ton of Boblin smut, if that’s your thing!!

Frondbrose is wonderful. These two also have such good chemistry and banter, it’s insane. Their Enemies-to-Lovers potential is insane. I wish they were canon so bad. They definitely need to interact more. Mr. Ambrose showing his softer side for Mr. Frond is just so adorable to me!! This man would be the epitome of “I hate everyone, but I don’t hate you 😌” They make me all giggly. I can’t get enough. They’re definitely the type to have Hate Sex once and then deny it ever happened 🤣. But everyone would know the truth.

Tedmort is so cute and has so much potential. I love it. I think Teddy and Mort’s friendship is precious already, but a potential relationship between them?? The wholesomeness meter would be off the charts. They can be an ancient muppet couple like Bob and Linda!! Mort would treat Teddy 1,000% better than Denise, but tbh, anyone else would treat Teddy better than Denise. If you want Tedmort, then @keepyourhornson-spyro is the person for you!! They’ve written some lovely Tedmort fics that everyone should read.

Marshmallow/Nat has such potential, and there should be content about them!! It just seems like such a fun ship, and I think being with Marshmallow would help Nat get over her ex-girlfriend. These two also share a similar vibe of just coming and going as they please, and “being truly free” 😌 I still love that Marshmallow is canonically Trans and Nat is canonically a Lesbian. They’re wonderful.

Hemita is a canonical rarepair, which I didn’t think was possible, but here we are. I think they’re so cute and definitely good for each other. Susmita asking out Henry in Morse Code?? That was adorable. We need more moments of these two being cute. I love them.

Barryl is such a rare pair and has won me over so much. There’s just something that makes sense about these two being together that’s difficult to describe. There’s something so sweet about Becky being able to find love after being unlucky with Jimmy Jr. Darryl would be such a sweet boyfriend to her, and she would be such a sweet girlfriend in return. They would be so cute holding hands and listening to the Frozen soundtrack on repeat. Sure, to ship them, you need to ignore Rosa, but she was only in one episode anyway. I gotta shout out @theangrypomeranian again for basically creating this entire ship herself. Amazing.

Arnlee is such a gigantic rare pair it’s insane, and they’ve definitely won me over too. They’re so cute!! They’re just two socially awkward kids who would work really well together. They deserve to have some sort of side plot where they bond. I would love that. @devilh0rnsinc made the cutest art of these two together for @ltwharfy, and that was what officially won me over. That and @ltwharfy’s adorable fic about them which everyone should go read.

I might cut myself off there, because this post is insanely long. But it just goes to show how many lovely ships there are in this fandom. And they’re all valid. Seriously, can we please just respect each other and who we ship??
