I think the thing of Cho experimenting on Ben should become a short fic

Now that would be a fic. I'd love to read a one-shot that explores all of Ben's deep-set trauma and healing from it as he learns about himself and any side-effects of being a snythezoid. Cho can be a little brash sometimes (and childish as he is still a kid) but I think once he understand just how serious this is to Ben, he'd be very careful about it.

It'd be a nice character study of Cho too and the relationship between him and Ben--which is such an unlikely duo as we rarely see them interacting in the show.

This is just me being incredibly self-indulgent and nosy but do you have any headcanons for what kind of lovers Gale would take after he and Glim open their relationship to that kind of exploration? How would he feel in his first extramarital relationship?

Yes! So I think the first one is a good twenty ish years down the line. I think he does some wizardy work with another wizard and they spark off each other, develop some feelings for each other, and he realises that he really wants to express those feelings. He waits until he’s home to make sure that they’re not just travel related and then broaches it with Glim, who is largely okay with the idea! She’s grown up around more fluid ideas of romantic and sexual relationships so even though she’s not poly per se, she’s not closed to it.

Because it’s not a simple “I want to sleep with other people” conversation it takes them some negotiating but the basic rules are:

If it’s somebody the other person truly dislikes, and it’s not envy related, then it’s a no-go

There is always space for the other to point out when additional lovers are not making their partner happy anymore

There is negotiation to both be involved if all parties agree

And obviously be safe, be consensual etc.

I don’t think Gale takes a lot of lovers after, probably around five, but they are considered and treasured. That first wizard colleague, a few more people he meets through his work as an archmage, a fun rogue who comes to Waterdeep for a few weeks every couple of years. And I think in later life he and Shadowheart have a few years together too, where she comes and lives with them, and it lasts the time it lasts and fizzles out into a deeper friendship on all sides.

Post Songbird Elegy Headcanons I May or May Not Use

- Scott spends a few years as an on-call riot medic for a few mutual aid places in the area. All of his friends hate this. He studied hard on tending to wounds outside of the hospital while traveling so he's very good at it. He tells them he is nonviolent but Edgar is the only one that knows how many fascists he's fully punched out (three).

- Edgar manages to get himself a position as a scout leader. They say they'll do it for one season and then end up with a trans boy scout and end up continuing to lead the group long after the kid graduates to Eagle Scout. The kid mentions Edgar in his speech and they weep for the rest of the night.

- Katy gets super into LARP-ing. SUPER into LARP-ing. She buys an actual sword and learns some basic swordfighting techniques. It hangs over her and Tenzin's bed for "security reasons". She owns one of those big-ass cats and named it something silly like Bingus.

- Tenzin still doesn't drink but she develops a strong interest in mocktails. She is an infinitely better bartender than Edgar ever was or ever could be. Her obsessively meticulous nature allows her to pick up on Flair Tricks pretty easily. She occasionally teaches the bar staff and Edgar and Scott's restaurant and Edgar says they aren't jealous but they very much are.

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)
