February 29- March 2 2024
The first time Sonic went Super in Road Trip wasn't exactly as stunning to Tails as other au's and stories.
Tails is like maybe 5 here (I'm not actually that organized on the timeline for this au yet, I'm getting there though, things are getting in order.) and he wasn't forced to grow up and be a hero in this au. So he's a bit more childish than canon Tails because he doesn't feel as pressured to mature and grow up fast. Plus, he genuinely thinks Sonic is going to die and this is the last time he see's him, so tears are bound to come down.

This isn't Sonic putting himself first-#-but him trying to comfort Tails because even if it's cheesy- Tails will only feel okay if Sonic is okay.#Apparently it calms children down if they listen to their parents heartbeat (melts my heart when I remember that) so Sonic put-#-Tails close to him not only so he could hear that Sonic is alive- but also to try calming him down a little more.#Small thing I started incorporating way too late- Sonic will call Tails Big Guy if the kit is smaller than him and-#-Little Guy if the kit is larger than him.#Sonic changed his pattern color to be blue like Tails' eyes after he points out that they are both yellow (it's not colored here-#- but you probably remember that Super Sonic has golden fur.)#Sonic is constantly rubbing a thumb on Tails' hand as a comforting gesture.#That's my ramble- I know it's just pretty bare bone stuff that anyone reading might get but I freaking love explaining stuff (I gotta stop)

I reached 150+ layers. help)#I like the idea that he would appear to ford like pure math considering hes a geometrical motherfucker and how the rest of the mindscape wa#I tried to mostly use trigonometry and related stuff for the Math Greebling. as well as fractals i love you forever fractals#MORE SYMBOLISM:#the grid-ish diamond pattern in all of the mindscape bgs (and elsewhere) is a penrose diagram of spacetime#which shows other universes on the other sides of black holes#SOMEONE ASK ME ABOUT MY EUCLYDIA HEADCANON LATER. My mom sent me a watercolor she just did and I’m going a little crazy over it, tbh.
#it’s such a simple subject#flowers in a field at sunset#and it’s the sunflower + tulips + lupin combination that you see whenever you ask somebody to draw different flowers#but she has this red abstract squiggly border that looks just like the illuminations in manuscripts#and the sunset wash bleeds all together#and there’s this gradient in the muddy yellow of the sunflower#and you look at it. and you can tell. whoever made this had fun.#they enjoyed putting the colors down#the green layers of grass#the delicate squiggles of red#the tiny little flowers and the giant swath of sky#I’ve ranted and raved about how technical excellence /needs/ to be pursued#but - perhaps because I believe in excellence and not despite of it -#Every step along the way#every ‘beginner’s mistake’#every naive piece every foray into something new every attempt to make something beautiful#just inspires so much love and joy in me.#It’s beautiful. because it’s an attempt to express the inexpressible.

Very aware of all the ways that she resembles the Overlord, takes things that remind her of him and emphasizes them out of spite.
The Overlord technically 'healed' most of her injuries when he reanimated her but he didn't plan for her to survive for very long. Her legs (crushed by the debris) give out beneath her sometimes. The 'X' over her chest is a mech that lets her fight even in those instances. Also it looks cool.

#I'll take good care of her~#*ahem*#the stuff in caps is from me earlier when i first had the idea#she wanted that to be the text but didnt think i might want to.. talk about the drawing process. thats why this awkward transition is here#anyway.. when drawing characters simply i like to draw them like little miis or perhaps teru teru bōzu#thats why her skirt is longer and why she doesnt have arms#also.. i dont use colored pencils often. and while i do have quite a few this is the closest i could get to the Bocchi the Hot! Pink#(or should it be Bocchi the Hot Pink! ?)#anyway.. i also only wanted to use the Bocchi the Hot! HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING HELP!!! HELP!!!!! its not don yet,,,,,, eoaugh. shoutout to like the 20 coloring/rendering tips and tutorial videos i watched you all did NOTHING to help. GOD. how hard is is to get a tutorial and help for something that actually ISNT naturally intuitive to me???
waaa waaa lineart hard 🥺🥺 waaa waaa sketching hard!!! ok man how about you struggle with figuring out basic color palettes (color is my absolute worst element of art ive yet to even improve on. this backfired on me i shouldve done more coloring pages when i was younger)
#ok but after like 30 minutes of fighting with the colors i do really like the color scheme i did with this..... like#i tried to keep everything desaturated. but also yellow warmish toned#yellow is supposed to be joyful happy yippee but this is NOT a good moment (for killer at least)#so i desaturated it. idk if that got the intended look but i wanted it to be a bit of like a twisted feeling moment#and then the red against the black of his dt vomit is like to show a contrast between the yellow#which could be calming if it was just left on its own to portray intensity and pain and yadayada#can you tell i love color psychology. can you tell. but i cant even apply any of the stuff ive learned at all#I HATE COLOR I HATE TEXTURE!!!! I HAVE ART OPPS AND THOSE TWO ELEMENTS ARE THE OPPS BRO#im glad i chose killer's as first since compared to horror's and dust's in this series his is the most normal ish#i dont know how to improve this anymore but i'll figure something out i guess idk.... art man#i think i deserve to eat a poundcake to congratulate myself for this. at least i got colors down#the tutorial lady said i should figure out color palette and placement first on the piece#and then i should do the actual thing afterwards and kinda clean things up after i figured everything out#worst feeling when you understand a concept in your head but you can't depict it on paper UGH#i have no idea how to draw buttercups btw. in fact any flower. i cannot draw nature#maaaaan i suck ass at this art shit bro i should just give up#nooo noooo..... lifelessly reanimates my disappointed body...... ink would be sad if i gave up#that stupid little skeleton is lucky he's a cool enough concept of a character to motivate me. thank you ink........#tricule rant
