Needs must
Pairing: Simon 'Ghost' Riley x F!Reader
WC: 2.1K
TW: prostitution, explicit fingering, and smut-ish.
ive got 4 other ideas for this goddamn escort au and one of em is MY BOY JOHNNY. oof i cant wait. im mad it took me this long to do this. I wrote this listening to rich sex by nicki minaj.
Tumblr media
You had needs. No matter how magical, a toy can only do so much for you. You wanted the praise of another human being—the warm touch of their hands around your waist, your neck. God, you needed to get laid. But after the disaster that was your last relationship, how nasty it ended, you couldn’t even ring your ex-girlfriend up for a booty call.
Sucking your teeth, you look at your phone. Noon. Well, maybe one of your friends you’re about to meet up with for a weekly Saturday brunch knew someone who would be interested in a no-strings-attached situationship.
Flipping the card in your hands,  you chewed on your bottom lip in deliberation and looked down at the business card— the color of bone with raised black lettering. Ghost, it read, with his number on the back. How you ended up with this in your hand made you almost regret having reprobates for friends. An escort. That’s what they had shamelessly suggested. You had almost choked on your eggs benedict when one of them pulled out a contact card from their wallet and placed it by your mimosa. I mean, really. Preparing to argue about their lack of sense, they brought up a great point. It was either this, someone who was there for what you needed whenever you needed it, or your toys which were in a pathetic state from constant use. Your ex called it quits because you simply couldn't find the time to maintain a proper relationship— your demanding job took up most of it. You couldn’t believe you were about to do this.
Ghost. What a name. But you suppose it didn’t matter what his name was, only that he could do his job, and with the way your friend gushed over him— he’d leave you walking side to side. You needed this. You worked too hard for too many hours to not spend your money on some self-care.
Fuck it. Maybe he will be just a one-time thing, you thought, and sent his number a text.
Closing the door of your car, you briskly walk towards the small cafe Ghost had sent the address to; A cute little quaint coffee shop. Coming to a stop, you straighten your office skirt and run a hand through your hair before opening the door. Breathing in the coffee aroma, you look around for who you’re looking for, spotting him sitting in the back. The click of your heels echoes inside the cafe, catching the attention of your awaiting companion. He looks up and rises to stand, and it takes you aback. It was like witnessing a grizzly standing on its hind legs. Jesus.
He was tall, so tall, and broad. Wearing a black beanie and covering the lower half of his face with a mask, he extends his arm out to shake your hand, and you internally scream at how shapely his arm alone looks over his long-sleeved shirt.
“I’m Ghost. It’s a pleasure, love.”
Choking back a moan at his accent, you put your hand in his and say, “No, I’m sure it’ll be all mine.” You can see his dark eyes crinkle at your quip.
“If we get through this smoothly, the next time we meet I’ll make sure of it.”
As you let out a playful laugh, Ghost reaches for the back of your chair, pulling it out with a chivalrous gesture. “And a gentleman? You definitely know how to sell yourself.”
“No, love. This is just a common courtesy. I don’t need t’tell you that I’m good,” and in one smooth motion, he extracts a sleek, forest green matte folder from the leather business bag lying at his feet.
“I need this filled out, just the usual— hard and soft limits. Safewords, nicknames, allergies, and so on.” You pick up the folder and open it, skimming over the contents of the front page.
“This really is your job.” You flick your eyes from the folder to him and he’s already looking at you, watchful and steady.
“O’ course it is. I take my clients, and future clients, seriously. I enjoy wha’ I do but it will never be at the cost of another. I will not make you uncomfortable in any way, nor risk your health. I aim to please you, not the other way around. And I cannot do tha’ if I don’t know tha’ you’re allergic to latex or completely against something I might do.”
He gives a slight cough, and you divert your attention from the paper and meet his gaze. “What’s a pretty thing like you seeking out someone who offers these types of services?” and a lighthearted chuckle escapes you.
“The same reason the one who gave me your card did— just looking for a good time, no commitment.”
He raises his eyebrows at that but makes no further comment. Smart man. Glancing at your wrist, you check the time. “Right,” and lean forward to get up when Ghost shoots up from his chair to pull out yours. “I’ll have your folder ready for you by the weekend,” and turn your head to face him.
“Is that when you’ll want this, then?” and you give a casual shrug.
“If you happen to be available.” He reaches out and gently grabs your hand to pull you in for a tight embrace. Softly, he whispers in your ear, “I’ll be seeing you then, love.”
You leave with a silly little grin on your face.
The weekend comes and you’re a puddle of nerves. You can’t remember the last time someone made you this anxious. The knock on your door startles you out of your inner ramblings. It’s time. Taking in a deep, calming breath, you open it.
Ghost calmly walks in, and starts taking off his mask, and then leather jacket.
“I’ve one absolute limit I forgot to mention,” he says in a firm tone. “I do not kiss. It is not a negotiation.”
Well, you couldn’t give a damn if he didn’t. Nonchalantly, you shrug and say, “And mine is that we always use a condom.” With a nod and a chuckle, he eagerly grabs the folder from your table and starts flipping through its pages.
“A’right, love. Go get on the bed f’me.” The smirk he gives you is positively wicked. “I saw tha’ you have like to be told wha’ to do.” He jerks his chin towards your room. “And take everything off.” With nervous excitement, you run off, haphazardly tossing your clothes on the floor.
Eyes covered with a blindfold, all you hear is your shaky breathing and his footsteps on your plush rug. Your nerves feel exposed, raw. As you lie on the bed, you suddenly feel a firm grip on the flesh of your thighs, causing your skin to break out in goosebumps. The room's cool air contrasts with the warm heat radiating from his touch, pulling a hiss from your lips as he pulls you toward the edge of the bed.
“Atta girl, love. Open your legs f’me, lemme see that pretty pussy.” The lack of eyesight helps you to focus on his touch alone, making you fearless, and your legs drop open without hesitation as you lie on your back.
“Look at tha’. Aren’t you just a dream? Hm?” he puts his hands on your knees, keeping your thighs open, wet cunt exposed. “And you waxed, too. Hope tha’ wasn’t f’me.” You feel a fingertip slide from your hood, down to your clit and hole, spreading your juices around the labia and back up. Your nerves are on fire, your pussy clenching around nothing, forcing juices to drip down to your arsehole.
“A’right, pretty. Touch yourself. Shove your tiny little fingers into your,” he pauses to suck the skin of your inner thigh, “cunt and show me how to make you feel good.” He then moves his mouth closer to where you need it most, and bites. Are you defying me? Did you suddenly become deaf as well, once I blindfolded you?” and you aggressively shake your head.
“No! No, sir. I hear you, loud and clear.” With a tight squeeze to your thighs, he says, “Then do as I say.” Moaning, you slowly bring your hand down, starting from your chest. Your palms rub against your pebbled nipples, down to your soft stomach, until your fingertips meet your swollen nub, then move in soft, tight circles, mewling at the feeling. The groan that reaches your ears is so lewd, you could come from that alone.
“Tha’s it, baby. You’re doing so well. Look at how wet you are, fuck, show me just how you like it.” And you do. A vulgar noise comes from your hole once you stuff yourself with one finger, slowly stretching, before adding another. It’s something, but not enough, not what you want. Not thick enough, long enough, and that thought makes you whimper in disappointment.
“Aw, are your fingers not satisfying? I’ll help you, sweet, only because you look so delicious spread out f’me like this. So vulnerable, bare.” His breath fans over your cunt, over your clit, and it sends a jolt up your spine— but he doesn’t move, doesn’t touch. It feels like you’ve been waiting for hours until he finally, finally, pushes a thick finger into you, and curls it, rubbing against the right spot, over and over, and then pushes in a second, threatening to tip you over the peak. The feeling is intense —your walls clench around him firmly in your rising pleasure.
“Oh, g-god, Ghost pleasepleaseplease,” squealing as you fuck yourself on his hand, and when your hypersensitive nerves pick up on the sensation of his scorching mouth on your clit, with a pulsating suction, your muscles tighten and tremble, to the point of pain, until Ghost gives one hard suck, forcibly pushing you off the edge. The wail you let out is ear-splitting— as ecstasy slams into your body, like waves crashing at shore. Your thighs squeeze Ghost’s head irrationally tight, but he doesn’t care, just groaning into your core, lapping up your juices like a dehydrated man who’s found an oasis. Your body stings— prickles from the vicious high you’re riding—chest heaving with sobs from the sheer force of it, fingernails digging into Ghost’s scalp, yanking on his hair. As your soul melts back into your body, you absentmindedly thank all the bloody gods for having friends who really do look out for you.
Whimpering pathetically, your limbs go limp, loose, heavy. Ghost easily picks your body up and moves you toward the center of the bed, vertically, the blindfold still robbing you of your vision.
With a grunt of effort, his hand firmly settles by your ribcage, sinking into the softness of the bed, and then he slips a folded pillow beneath your hipbones, expertly arching your spine into a delicious angle. His hand firmly connects with your rear, not just once but twice, feeling the exquisite sting of it. The room falls into silence, only to be interrupted by the clinking sound of his belt buckle. Your body tenses as you hear the unmistakable sound of plastic being torn open, and then you feel his thick and warm shaft teasing your entrance. A moan escapes your lips as he penetrates you, his movements slow and sensual, until his hipbones press against your backside. Taking his time, he slowly pulls back his length, dragging it against your slick walls, before pushing forward again, covering your body with his own. His right hand is flat on the bed by your right shoulder, while his left curls around your neck, gently forcing your head to tilt back onto him. The tip of his head grinds against the entrance of your womb.
He moans softly into your ear, before quietly purring, “Let’s see how many more orgasms I can wring out of you, pet.” The tightening of his makeshift necklace around your throat is your first and last warning of what is to come.
He pulled four. Four gut-wrenching, shattering orgasms before finding his own release. He left you a drooling, sloppy, sweaty mess on your bed, completely languid and relaxed. Somewhere, you faintly hear your phone ping with a notification. Hissing as you get up, you limp to your living room, and see it on the sofa. Unlocking it, you see that it’s Ghost, sending you his Cash App information. Holding in a chickle, you send him his money and wait for his confirmation.
It was a real pleasure, doll. Let me know when you need me again.
Cackling to yourself, you place your phone back on the table.
Bastard.
He knows you’ll definitely be seeing him again.

Happy National Girlfriends Day
Yandere Baki Head Canons
Baki men reacting to Afab reader in their shirt with nothing underneath
NSFW Edition
Minors DNI
Tumblr media
……………………………………………………………….
Katsumi Orochi
His throat is dry and his palms are sweaty. He’d try to clear his throat to play it off, but he can’t hide his excitement downstairs.
Katsumi wouldn’t be able to contain himself and he’d be on you in a second when you turn around. Because he can see that you’re just wearing his shirt. His hands grabbing at your soft flesh as his lips kiss up and down your neck
“God you look so beautiful… can I have a little taste?”
It was more than a taste and you’ll definitely end up pregnant from this endeavor
Baki Hanma
His whole face is a bright red just like his hair and his palms are sweaty. He’s so awkward and shy to make a move. You will have to
So when you sit on his lap with either of your legs on the side of his hips and he feels a slight dampness on the front of his shorts, he’s on you
He presses sloppy kisses to your lips and cheeks, his fingers grasping at your hair to pull you flush against his body. Soft whispers of your name spill from his lips as he asks you for permission to be with you
“Please… please I’ve been good. I want to touch you…”
He’s so sweet and he’s so gentle. But his arms are just like a cage
Jack Hanma
Oh man… you’re drowning in his shirt since it’s so big. It’s practically a sundress on you. But when you bend over to get something from the fridge, the shirt clings to your hind end like another skin. And Jack was no longer interested in eating from the delicious sight before him
Jack waltzes over to you, bends down, and playfully bites your right butt cheek. The man greedily trying to fit all of it in his mouth
“God you look so good… I could just eat you.”
And the man begins to feast. There’s not a single part of your body he didn’t put into his mouth to look and nibble on… you’re his favorite chew toy
Kaioh Retsu
Now you’re wearing just an apron around him with nothing under it as you make him breakfast in bed. And he is so flustered, he looks like a tomato
When you walk over to him and put a hand on his chest, he loses all sense of control. His arms snake around your waist and pull you into his chest. The way your body fit against his like a missing piece drove him wild
“You’re the perfect way to start the day… I love you.”
He’s so gentle and so sweet. You’re practically putty in his arms from how gentle he treats you. Retsu is an incredibly loving man with a higher libido than you thought…
Hanayama Kaoru
When he wakes up to see you in his shirt sleeping beside him, he is smug. You look so lovely in his clothes… and when you shift in your sleep a bit, he notices you’re not wearing anything underneath. How naughty
“It’s seems someone is being a bit naughty right now… don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”
You wake up to Kaoru’s fingers between your legs as his soft lips press hard kisses into you neck that are sure to leave a mark. Kaoru will let the world know that you’re his

Hello, hope you're having a good day/night
I was wondering if I could request a
Joel Miller x Male werewolf reader: reader lives beyond any of the safe zones seeing are zombies are the least of his concerns, more afraid of human and what they would do to him. Cage him? Experiment on him? Specially if they knew he was amun to the virus! Maybe skin him for his fur to make winter clothes specially if the knew he could regenerate! Human greed a terrifying thing.
Reader saves Joel from a group of Zombies in his werewolf form before running off afraid of Joel. This big scary werewolf afraid of tiny human! Maybe they meet again only reader is in his human form? Maybe they've come across eachother before in human form? Maybe Joel has seen the werewolf but at a distance never so close that if he reached out he could touch it? (Kinda beauty and the beast trope?)
Pairing: Joel Miller x Male!Reader
Warnings: Mention of blood an injury
Content: Werewolf!Reader, Gentle!Joel

Absolutely LOVED writing this, it was such a cool concept. Thanks for the request!! 💚
Wolf In Disguise
You had just escaped the FEDRA cells. They had locked you up, preparing to experiment on you. You had lost control and ripped your way out. You killed quite a few people on the way out. You didn’t mean to, really. You ran as far away from that god forsaken place as your legs would possibly carry you. After your third night of trotting through the forest, you found a good spot to rest. You were tired and ready to sleep for at least a month. You closed your eyes but didn’t keep them closed for long. You heard someone struggling just over the hill. You wondered if FEDRA had found you for a moment but decided to check it out anyway.
Joel was trudging through the forest, a sour expression on his face. The trade went wrong and he was left with nothing. He was too distracted to notice the pack of runners that was heading straight for him. He realised too late. One of them charged him, knocking him off his feet and scratching at his face. This was it. He was done for. He fought as hard as he could before he heard heavy footsteps nearing. He thought it was someone coming to help but they sounded…off. They were moving too quickly. He didn’t have time to think about it before a huge shadow of a creature knocked the runner off his chest. He took a deep breath in before propping himself up carefully.
Joel looked over at the shadow as it ripped the runners apart right in front of him. He thought it was going to come after him next but instead it stood still as it looked down at him. He studied for a moment. It looked like a giant wolf with soft-looking black, grey, and blondish fur. It had gnarly sharp teeth and bright amber eyes. It looked as if it was cowering away from him. Joel fully stood up, looking at the creature. He put his hand out for some reason, retracting it when the wolf creature jumped back. He saw a small gash on the right hind leg of the creature.
“It’s okay, big guy. Take it easy. I ain’t gonna hurt you.”
Joel said in a soft voice, trying to calm the creature. He didn’t know why, but he felt as if he'd seen this creature before. He took a step closer and put his hand out again. The creature flattens its ears and takes a step back, squinting its eyes. Joel stilled.
“It's okay. It’s okay.”
Joel says softly once again. He waits to see if the creature will walk up to him. He feels a tickle in his nose and barely has time to stifle the sneeze that shoots out of him. The creature jumps and flees quickly. Joel barely saw as it disappeared over the hill. He sighed before looking down at the mauled runners around him. He noticed a trail that the beast left in the mud. He really should be getting back to the QZ but the things that just went down made him want to seek out the creature.
You run as fast as you can, not wanting the rugged man to recognise you. You don’t know if he was FEDRA or not but you didn’t want to stay and find out. You ran until you felt your legs start to ache. You sat up against a tree, taking a breath. You finally allowed yourself to rest for a while. You sat there for a few minutes. You wanted to get up and keep moving but you didn’t have anywhere to go. You look down at your aching leg, noticing that there was a large gash in your calf. You swore quietly. It would be gone in a few hours but it still stung pretty bad. You looked back in the direction you came in and saw a small trail of blood. You hoped that the man that you saved didn’t follow it, being too tired to keep moving. You closed your eyes and rested your head back against the tree trunk. You fell asleep quickly.
Joel followed the trail that the creature left. He knew he’d probably never find it again but he was curious enough to keep going. He continued until the mud trail turned to blood. He started to feel a pang of worry. Maybe the creature had been hurt. He was too preoccupied with his thoughts to notice that the trail had ended right in front of him. He looked down to see a familiar man sleeping against a tree. He had a large gash on his right leg. The gears in Joel’s brain started to turn. Was this man the creature he just saw? He leaned down to inspect the injury quietly. It wasn’t a bite. That calmed Joel down a slight bit. At least the man wasn’t infected. Joel reached up to gently shake the man’s shoulder.
Your eyes snapped open. You jumped back in fear, feeling a warm hand clasp around your shoulder. You prepared to run. You looked at the perpetrator. You saw the rugged man that you had saved a few hours ago looking up at you with a worried expression.
“It’s alright, partner. I’m not gonna hurt you. Are you alright?”
You stay quiet for a moment, wondering why this man was being so nice. He had followed a trail that had to be at least two miles long just to check if you were okay. You looked at him, confused.
“Yeah. I’m fine.”
You say, hiding your injury slightly.
“Who are you? Why did you follow me?”
You ask. Your voice was raw and cracked. You hadn’t had water in at least a few days.
“My name is Joel. I followed you cause you saved my sorry ass from that pack of runners a while ago.”
You froze. He knew you were the wolf.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Joel.”
You tried to lie.
“You have the same mark on your leg. I’m not here to hurt you, you don’t gotta lie.”
You let out a breath that you didn’t know you were holding.
“You gonna take me back to FEDRA?”
You ask, suspicious of the man in front of you.
“FEDRA? They captured you?”
He looked confused.
“Of course they did. I wouldn’t do that. I don’t work with those assholes anymore.”
He replied. He took his pack off and reached in, causing you to jump back. He slowly took out a bottle of water before tossing it to you.
“Sounds like you haven't had any water for a while.”
Joel sits down on the ground, offering a truce. You cautiously sit down a few feet away from him and drink the water. He tosses you half a sandwich but it lands a foot short. You wait a moment before snatching it off the ground and unwrapping it. You ate it quickly and brushed off your hands. Joel quietly asked you a few questions about yourself, leaving the wolf part out. You answered truthfully before looking up at him.
“So are you going to sit over there and pretend not to be curious about the wolf thing?”
You ask, trying to keep the mood light. Joel stifles a laugh before nodding.
“I didn’t know if it was a touchy topic or not.”
He admitted. He carefully asked a few questions about the wolf thing and you once again answered honestly. He went quiet for a moment before looking over at you.
“Is there any way you could safely show me?”
You barely knew this man. You shouldn’t feel as comfortable as you do around him. But you took a moment to think before nodding your head. You turn, just as you had easily done thousands of times. You look at him with those ember eyes before sitting down and curling your tail around your injured leg. You watched as Joel carefully got up, his hand held out cautiously. You sit and wait for him to approach you. He carefully reached out and put his hand on your snout. He smiled brightly as you leaned up to sniff his hand. He put his palm flat on the top of your head, scratching at your ears lightly.
“Jeez, you’re like a big dog, aren’t you.”
His smile widened as you bumped your head against his hand. You watched patiently as he slowly walked all the way around you, admiring your sleek features. He took a seat in front of you and leaned to look at your injured leg.
“That doesn't look too good. There any way you’d let me patch that up for you?”
You thought for a moment before getting up and trotting closer. You sat back down in front of him and showed your wound. He smiled and reached into his pack again, pulling out bandages. He wrapped your leg tightly and sat back.
“Hopefully that’ll hold.”
He said before standing.
“I should probably be going. It was good to meet you.”
He started walking before he stopped and turned.
“And, uh. Thanks for saving me.”
He said before turning and walking away. You got up and watched as he walked. You felt sort of lonely now. He was the only kind person you had met in a long time and now he was leaving. He must have felt your eyes on him because he turned his head. He looked around before sighing heavily. He patted his leg and whistled.
“Here boy.”
You happily ran after him, trotting by his side as the two of you continued down the road.
“So is it easier to be like this or…? It seems like you're happier like this.”
He asked before looking down at you. You walk happily by his side, showing him that it was easier and you were happier as you were. Joel talked to you as the two of you walked, telling you about himself. You continued to trot next to him as you listened. You were happy that you finally found someone to be yourself with.
(I’d be happy to write a part two if anyone asks 😉)

Request for more candybats tkl fluff plz??
I’ve seen too much werewolf Kevin floating around to NOT use it, so I’m gonna use my version
Ler Streber, Lee Kevin
Warning: cussing (except sassy Kev lmao)
Word count: 936
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a lot to love about having a werewolf boyfriend. The full moons often led to a night full of snuggles, and a night full of helping Kevin learn how to control shifting between different forms, although those nights also made it the most challenging.
However, some nights, Streber swore…
“AWOOOOOO”
“AAAAAAAA”
“AAWAWAWAWAWWW”
“AWWAAMAAWAMMAMAMAAWWW”
… that Kevin was a werehusky of some sort.
The worst part is, even in full wolf form, Kevin could speak. He just often chose not to unless he was telling Streber off. Instead he’d scream his woes to the skies, much like the Youtube-famous dog breed.
“Kevin! I get it, you get paid minimum wage, most of us do, now shut up!”
“NO! AAAWAWAWAAAAWAWAAAA!!!”
Streber sighed, listening to his werewolf boyfriend scream like some kind of crazy wild animal, tapping his paws around on the ground and swishing his floofy tail as he went. The vampy boi had to think. There had to be some way to teach him a lesson for being a loudmouth, didn’t there?
Wait.
Oh my god I’m a fucking idiot. Why didn’t I think of that before?
He clicked his tongue and whistled, calling the pupper over to the couch.
“Kevin! C’mere!”
“Pets?” the fluffball asked as he hopped onto the couch, his tail wagging at the prospect of attention.
“Yes, pets, you big mutt, come here,” Streber offered, opening his arms as his boyfriend leapt onto the couch and snuggled into his arms before flopping into his lap.
“Mmmm, attention… also I’m not a mutt, I’m a wolf, get it right,” Kevin argued, pushing on Streb’s face with a paw.
“Yeah, yeah… seriously, what is it about this form that brings so much sass out of you?”
“I don’t know, honestly, I call it ‘doggo sass.’”
“Pft- doggo sass… oh, you’re so weird sometimes.”
“Hey, at least I’m not as weird as you are 24/7.”
“I’m not weird, you take that back!”
“Mmmm… nah. You’re weird. Pretty sure Rad and Rick would agree, too. I mean, ‘hauntiest of houses?’ Really? Is hauntiest even a word?”
“Oh, you will not let that go, will you?”
“No, I absolutely will not! I mean, seriously?”
“Kevin, what did I tell you was gonna happen if you made fun of my haunted house?”
“Uhh… Hm… I honestly forgot. I mean, we did end up more focused on something else, y’know?”
“Yeah, I know. But, I told you that if you made fun of my haunted house, that I. Was going…” Streber paused for dramatic effect, but also to see if the fluffball that was currently upside down in his lap remembered. But it seemed he couldn’t.
“Was going… to what?” Kev tilted his head to the side.
“To tickle you!” Streber announced, grabbing Kevin up under his arms (front legs?) and pulling him further over his lap.
“WHAT? Nonononono! Streb, no!” Kev panicked, wiggling, twisting and kicking his hind paws in his boyfriend’s grip.
“Hey, I warned you fair and square, plus I’ve had enough of your attitude tonight!”
“Nono, c’mon, there must be something I can do, right? Right?”
“Hmmm… Ok. Turn back and maybe, MAYBE. Maybe I’ll spare you. If you’re good,” Streber offered, a deal he thought was fine.
Apparently Kevin thought otherwise.
“How about… you don’t tickle me and I stop pawing you in the face?”
“Hmmm… how about… nope!” Streber chirped.
Before Kevin had the chance to protest, he squealed, bursting into giggles as Streber gently scratched at his fluffy belly, squirming as much as he could, even as Streber’s fake arm held tight.
“Aww, poor little wolfy with a ticklish, fluffy belly!” the ravenette cooed, “Bet you regret trying to act like a big dog now, huh?” He caught himself laughing at his own joke.
“Thahat was ahahawfuhul!”
“I think you mean it was… pawful?”
“Youhur johohohokes suhuhuck!”
“Then why are you laughing, hm?~”
“Behecahahahause! Ihit tihi-AAHAHA NOHO!” the poor wolfy twisted in his boyfriend’s hold as the scritches moved from his belly to his ribs.
“Because it what, Kevin? Use your words!”
“STREHEHEB! AHAHAHA NOHO! NOHOT THAT SPOHOHOT!” he squealed as Streber’s fingers gently scratched over a little spot on his lower ribs that had his hind leg kicking like a dog getting an itch scratched.
“Not this spot? You sure, Kev? Your lil leggy sure seems to like it! Look!”
“NOHOHO!” Kevin whined, pulling his paws over his face, the fur on his ears and cheeks fluffing up.
“Y’know, Kev, you’re not doing a very good job of hiding!~”
“IHI’LL TUHUHURN BAHAHACK!” Kevin finally gave in.
“You promiseee?~”
“AHASK AGAHAHAIN AHAHAND I’LL TIHICKLE YOUHU TOHOHOHOO!”
Eyes widening a bit at the threat, Streber withdrew his hands, letting his boyfriend calm down, panting and giggling, moments before the wolf in his lap was human once more.
“Yehe… youhuhu… you suhuhuck…” the giggly ravenette complained.
“Aw, I know, but you love me, ya big puppy!” his fellow ravenette responded cheerfully.
“Ihi do…”
Streb chuckled as he gently ruffled Kevin’s hair, before his fingers gently began combing through Kevin’s knotted locks.
“How does your hair always turn into a rat’s nest every time you go into wolf form?” Streb giggled a bit at the current state of his boyfriend’s hair.
“Well, I’m sure that tickling me and messing with it is not helping,” Kev reasoned, poking at his boyfriend’s leg.
“Yeah yeah yeah… ah well. I’ll help you brush it out tomorrow morning. For now, we need to sleep. You’ve got work tomorrow.”
Kevin groaned at the reminder and snuggled up to his warm boyfriend. “Fineee… goodnight, Streb…”
“Goodnight, my giggly puppy…”

Hi! Can you maybe write a blurb about how harry and y/n met for the first time? I saw this tiktok that harry was petting a dog in Chicago sp Maybe something like they met in a coffee shop and harry started petting y/n’s dog and it was love at first sight? Thanks!! X
omg this is tooooo cute to pass up on okaok:
(+800 words)
“Billy, sit.”
Your well trained cavapoo sat before your feet, looking up at you and panting his little tongue away. He was no doubt out of breathe from the long walk you’d both just been on, hence why you were now stopping at a coffee shop.
When Billy realised you weren’t paying attention to him and was looking at the board for inspiration on what to buy, he looked around the room in search for attention.
You felt Billy move, but just assumed that he was scratching himself or giving himself a shake. What you didn’t realise was that he had found someone else to give him some loving, until his lead tugged your arm hard and you felt him jump up at someone.
“Billy!” You said, startled.
Moving your attention away from the menu, you noticed a man crouched down on the ground in front of Billy. Billy was happily standing on his hind legs to get a sniff of the man’s face.
“Billy, stop it. God, I’m so sorry. He’s never normally like this.” You apologised, crouching down yourself when you realised Billy was in no mood to pull away from this man.
You reached under Billy’s belly and made sure to land all four paws on the floor, before turning your gaze to the man who was now staring and smiling at you.
You weren’t oblivious as to who this man was. You’d have to be living in a cave in Antarctica to not know who Harry Styles was, yet no matter how much you saw him on your screen he was so much more handsome in person.
He was charming.
“Hi. I’m Harry.” He said, sticking out his hand to introduce himself.
“Y/N. Nice to meet you, Harry.” You smiled and shook his hand.
“And this is Billy?” He asked, looking down at your dog who was still looking in admiration at Harry.
“Yes. He’s a cavapoo. He loves love and is very greedy when it comes to attention.” You patted Billy’s back, but he paid no attention to you and tried to prop himself up on Harry’s knees again. “Billy..” You sighed.
“Don’t worry about it. He can get away with it for being so cute. Can’t you, hey bud?” Harry smiled down at Billy.
You smiled as you watched Harry interact with your dog, looking like they’d known each other for years. Billy was a friendly dog, but when it came to people he adored he would become even friendlier. It was just a surprise that Harry Styles was someone Billy would cave for.
Maybe someone even you would cave for.
It’s why you can’t exactly explain what came over you, but there wouldn’t be many more opportunities like this and you’d rather go home embarrassed than go home and regret what could’ve happened.
“Can I buy you your coffee? A-as an apology for Billy being so hyperactive around you.” You asked, Harry turning his head up to look at you for a moment. At first you thought his face was trying to hide the fact he was conjuring up a rejection, but he still surprised you. “I-I mean you don’t—”
“Sure. I’ll have a black Americano please.”
“I would’ve taken you as a tea kinda guy.” You chuckled to yourself.
“Oh yeah? Starting the British jokes already huh?” He rolled his eyes as he laughed, showing that he did find you funny.
Both of you stood up and Billy spun in circles as he tried to figure out who to look at.
“Do you want me to to go sit down at a table with him?” Harry offered, holding his hand out for the lead. It was a kind gesture and your heart swooned at the gentleman that he had been brought up to be, but even Harry could see you were hesitant. He was a stranger after-all, even if he was a celebrity.
“It’s okay.” You politely smiled and watched as Harry kindly smiled, before heading over to grab a table for two. It was next to a window so you could people watched in case things became awkward.
As you were stood at the counter Billy kept whining and tugging on his lead in the direction of Harry. It was hard for you to concentrate on speaking to the kind lady behind the counter whilst focusing on what Billy was doing, but before you could stress any more Harry had come back over and crouched in front of Billy. He began rubbing Billy’s cheeks and Billy’s tail started wagging like he was the happiest dog on planet Earth.
After you’d collected your drink, Harry offered to take them and carry them which you were very thankful.
“I thought we could go for a walk instead, to let this one release some energy?” He offered, holding the door open for you to walk through.
“Is this turning into a coffee date, Harry?” You teased him, trying to hide a smile the best you could.
“Would it be okay if it was?” He said so smoothly it sounded almost rehearsed.
“Ask me at the end of our walk.”

“We could watch some movies” Y/N called out as she hung upside down in Emily’s living room while the rest of the pack were either on the floor or in chairs.
It was a Sunday and everything was clear in the woods, not a leech other than the normal one’s so Sam gave the pack a off day from patrol.
With only one problem... they were bored.
Jacob was with Nessi while Sam and Emily went to visit some of Emily’s family across town.
“Nah” she heard most of them mumble from their places around the room.
“I’m tired of movies” Jared said as he laid his head on Embry’s shoulder making him push it off while everyone agreed with him.
Y/N flipped the right way up now running out of ideas and looked at her boyfriend who was at the other end of the couch dosing off.
“Paul...” she whined and put her head back.
He took a deep breath and opened his eyes to look at her beady y/e/c one’s, he smiled a little seeing the fake stress she was under before leaning on his hand.
He only smiled because this is the longest he ever saw his small rambunctious imprint sit still, ever.
No matter if it was her climbing the stair rail...she was ANYWAYS moving.
Its like she had around the clock jitters.
Of course Paul quickly adapted to his lovers personality because if he was being honest, it only made the love he had for her stronger.
Though he couldn’t argue with the fact that she tired the 6′8 foot wolf out on most times.
She wasn’t like Emily or Kim, she was the smallest other then Claire and she always wanted to fight with the boys.
Y/N was known for getting a good laugh out of annoying the pack and they couldn’t do anything about it for two simple reasons.
One, because of the rule “no wolf may harm the imprintee of a fellow pack member” stand’s tall and Two, Paul would kill them dead if they so much as leave a scratch on Y/N.
Seeing she wasn’t getting anywhere with her imprinter she groaned loudly which caught Quil by surprise making him fall out the chair he was in.
Everyone looked up with wide eyes as Quil slowly got up rubbing his hind quarters and glaring at the small girl.
“Jeez Y/N, I think you broke Quil” Jared said chuckling making Quil throw the closest pillow he could grab at him.
Y/N rolled her eyes and stood up making her way to the back yard.
“Where smalls going?” she heard one of them ask on her way out.
Y/N plopped down in grass and stared at the sky trying to think of anything to do a this point.
She sat up and looked behind her to see if any of the boys were on their way out but saw the coast was clear.
She took a deep breath before remembering the words to one of the first spells her late mother taught her when she was a child.
“crescere” She said making a rose start to grow out of the spot of ground she was next to.
Y/N mother was a coven leader to witches in the south, she was kind, fair, loving, everything a leader was but she was a mother first.
When Y/N mother was pregnant with her she fought hard to keep peace with the wolves and vampires in the area they lived in.
Peace was a common factor between the three supernatural species.
When Y/N was six years old that all soon changed when the vampires wanted all of the land and the witches and wolves refused to give up what was theirs.
Not much longer the red eyed monster’s forced a attacked on the wolves when they least expected it.
Killing them all in a blink of an eye.
Y/N’s mother knew her coven was next on the leeches list but refused to bow, Y/N would say that her mother’s pride costed her a lot but if it didn’t she wouldn’t have everything with Paul.
As the vampires moved in on the witches, killing every witch they could get their hands on but not before Y/N’s mother put a cloaking on her so she could make her escape.
Six year old Y/N ran fast and hard from her home land as she heard her mother’s screams for mercy.
She soon found her self in Minnesota where she was raised in a foster home, it was there when she stopped using her magic.
When Y/N was 17 she ran away from her abusive foster home and made a 23 year old friend by the name, Avery Carson who was on vacation to the small city.
Avery soon had to go back to La Push with her family and didn’t want leave Y/N behind, the 17 year old cried and begged the girl to take her with her and even explained why she couldn’t stay.
Y/N knew that if she didn’t leave then and there she would be found and forced back into her foster home only to be beaten and spat at again.
She didn’t want to go back to that horrible place, ever.
Avery gave in and flew back to La Push with the soon to be legal girl on her side, she even took it as far to put her in school on the rez.
It was then she met and was imprinted on by the well known hot headed wolf, Paul Lahote.
People told the girl Paul was no good for her pure soul and let to her ‘simple crush’ go, not knowing that she found her soulmate.
Y/N thought Paul was over looking her but in all honesty the large boy was just scared to approach the small figured girl.
She would sit in the room that Avery gave her so she would have a place to stay just thinking about the tan boy.
How at lunch he would stare then after she would look back or try to hold eye contact he would quickly look back to his friends and act like he wasn’t paying attention.
After awhile the pack took notice to the odd silence their friend was giving then soon grew tired of Paul always thinking about the new girl on patrols but not acting on it.
So his bestfriend Jared and pack brother Quil gave him the push he needed to at least hold a conversation with Y/N, literally.
As Y/N was walking past the group of boys Jared and Quil pushed Paul into her, just as she was about to fall back on her butt Paul grabbed a hold of her belt loops pulling his warm body to hers.
It was then they became friends and later became something more.
Eight months into knowing Paul and his group of friends that everyone thought was a ‘gang’, he told her what he really was and what made him go into shock the young girl simply replied with....
‘I kinda figured’
Now a year later she was like the littlest wolf and a little sister to the pack but she never told anyone of her powers.
Not even Emily, Kim Or Avery.
She repeated her act of making the roses grow out the ground before she heard Embry’s voice speak.
“OH MY GOD!” he shouted as he ran back in the house yelling for Paul.
Y/n shot up off her spot in the grass and tried to catch the boy but it was no uses, his wolf speed was much greater then her little legs.
He was already in front of a slightly panicked Paul trying to explain what he saw his pack sister do with her bear hands.
“S-she just said it a-and i-it came up and- SHE’S A DAMN WITCH!” he said stumbling over his words.
“Okay Embry do it with me, deep breath in” Quil said taking a deep breath which Embry followed and then they both let it out.
“now what the hell happened-”
“she-”
“SLOWLY!” everyone shouted at him.
Y/N just laid her forehead on the door frame as she listened to one of her bestfriends freak out bout what she did.
“-and I ran in here” Embry said finishing and turn his head to Y/n who smiled nervously and waved at the boys.
Paul looked at Y/N as she started to turn red in the face, she knew not to lie about anything because she couldn’t keep up with lies and soon get caught in them.
Plus she knew Paul would know when she’s lying because he knew HER like the back of his hand.
“come” Paul said to his imprint.
Paul wasn’t mad or anything he is however disappointed his little ball of energy didn’t tell him about her powers sooner.
Y/N slowly made her way over to Paul so tear brimmed her eye’s, she was scared.
Scared of what her only reason of living would say, she couldn’t live without him or bare the thought of him hating her because she wasn’t fully human.
“Look at me mama” Paul said as he saw a tear slip from her eye.
She tilted her head back to look at the tall boy in front of her and she saw no change in the way he looked at her.
Y/N thought he would look at her in pure disgust or anything of that nature but he didn’t, he still looked at the small girl with love in his eye’s.
“This true?”
“yes... b-but I didn’t want you guys to h-hate me l-like the leeches so I hid it and now-”
“woah woah woah” Quil said waving his hands to slow his little friend and reminding her to breathe.
“that’s what your scared of? that we’ll hate you because your not human?” Jared asked.
She nodded trying to stop the tears from coming but they wouldn’t stop.
“we don’t hate you smalls ,we never would” Embry said said with a little small to calm the girl.
“We love you” Paul said making her put her head down.
He grabbed her chin gently making her look back up at him and planted a small kiss on her lips.
“I love you Y/n” he said.
The young girl looked from her lover to her friends and took a deep breath as she wiped her face.
“okay just so we’re clear you do magic.... So your like Harry Potter?” Jared said making the group laugh.
“umm, I- well, not quite buddy” she smiled and wiped her wet face.
“Group hug!” Embry and Quil yelled as everybody closed in on her and Paul.
They all hugged for a minute before pulling away.
Bonus
“can we see a little something?” Embry asked plopping down on the couch as Paul wrapped his arms around Y/N.
Y/N smirked and with a wave of her hand a pillow hit Jared dead in the face making him look at her and a hurt look.
“Hey!-”
She chucked another pillow at his face before he could say anything else and leaned on Paul as she laughed.
“that’s my girl” Paul said, smiling in her ear making chills go up her spine.
Jared got up and pretended to storm towards Y/N making her squeal and hide behind her lover.
“That’s not fair, you can’t hide behind Paul!” Jared said laughing.
“who says” Paul said.
“we do!”
“who is we, I don’t speak French” Embry said.
“Paul would let Y/N get away with murder because she’s small” Quil said shaking his head as everyone laughed.
Paul just smiled and sat down, pulling Y/n into his lap and kissing her lips sweetly.
“I Love you little witch” He smiled.
“I Love you Wolfie” she giggled.
“OH MY GOD!”
“ugh, gross”
“yeah just do the do with clothes on will ya”

a luminous love || tom holland x reader
a/n: I feel like I should apologise for the length of this. I was not intending for it to be as long as it’s ended up, but I hope that doesn't put anyone off! there is also a follow up of this planned: the subsequent road-trip. both are definitely stand alone’s but there will be a few casual nods to this fic throughout. i’m thinking of doing a couple shorter blurb style fics as these longer ones take up a bit more time to plan and write. also looking to delve into my angsty side after doing so many slice of life, fluff pieces. let me know what you think, thank you all for reading and being amazing as always! come chat! x
word count: 2556 warnings: alcohol use summary: its the annual summer BBQ extravaganza at the holland household
The patio doors were wide open, folded in on themselves as shimmering golden sunlight enveloped the kitchen. Sunbeams glinted off the mirrors and glass surfaces, rainbows dancing around the open space. Light music was playing from a portable speaker, the birds chirping along to the soothing tones. You could hear voices all talking over one another, loud laughter and a dog barking. From your position in the hallway you could see people sheltering in the shaded kitchen from the sweltering heat that was London on a glorious summer day. Bodies filtered in and out through the large open space, congregating both inside and out. You felt a gentle squeeze of your hand. Taking your eyes off the crowded room and glancing up, you saw tom had rested his bag in the hallway, and was waiting for you to do the same. “You okay?” he asked, as you stepped out of your trance and copied Tom’s actions, “It’s only the family, you’ve met them before - and a couple family friends...” he trailed off. “Oh.No, I’m excited I promise!” you reassured him. Tom grasped your shoulders, spinning you round slightly so you were standing directly in front of him, your bodies touching. His smile widened, pressing a feather light kiss to the top of your head, “I got you.” You leaned into the kiss, closing your eyes quickly as you soaked up the closeness. You picked up the discarded gift bag, lost in amongst the jumble of things you and Tom had brought in for your quick stay at the Holland household. He entwined your fingers together, rubbing the back of your hand slightly with his thumb before jerking his head questioningly, ready to face the onslaught? you nodded, grinning. Pulling him in close beside you, he stretched his entwined hand across the back of your neck and up over your shoulder casually. “You weren’t having a summer Holland BBQ without your favourite, right?!” he bellows, as you both appear in the kitchen entry way. A myriad of eyes darted over to the pair of you, everything stilling for a millisecond. Even Tessa dropped her ball. Then the place erupted. “Oh honey!” “Ayy, about time guys.” “Favourite? yeah right!” “Only in your dreams you div.” “Oh look who he brought!! Thank god, I needed someone to talk about...” “My favourite non-Holland!” The cacophony of voices echoed around the room, people whooping and hollering before finishing their previous conversations. With another light squeeze, you feel the weight of Tom’s arm disappear from around you. His fingers ghosted across your back before he was hugging his brothers, pulling out high fives and fist bumps. You found yourself immediately enveloped into a perfume filled, soft hug, Nikki running a hand through your hair complimenting the slightly lighter colouring, “- I’m so glad you could both make it! I was worried you’d miss out what with your trip but it looks like we were just in time.” You were heading on a road-trip up to Scotland to visit your family since Tom had some proper free time off work, him wanting to drive and explore some pretty hidden routes with you. You’d decided to stop off for a night at his family’s house before heading off the next again morning. “We wouldn’t miss it! Yearly tradition and all, also it’s just a wee thing but please just accept it no questions.” Nikki pulls a face at the gift bag, “You don’t have to do that, you’re family - no need for gifts!” You can feel yourself falling into a grin at the comment before thanking her for letting you stay the night and for the amazing spread. You hear the pitter patter of tiny feet on the tiled floor, before your four-legged friend jumped up on her hind legs, tail thumping the ground and front legs pawing at yours. “Oh hi baby, hi Tess!” you coo softly, kneeling on one knee to stretch behind her ear and rub her belly as she continued to hop on her back legs, her tongue sticking out to lick your face.   Her ears suddenly pricked at a whistle, and both your heads turned as she noticed Tom - immediately forgetting about you and bounding over to him. He sticks his tongue out at you menacingly. You rolled your eyes, grinning as you stand back up again. Nikki leading you to a group of people gathered around the island, “Anyway! Let’s get you a drink and introduce you to some friends! Tell us how you’ve been, it’s been so long.” //// You were laughing with the twins, watching Paddy show some of his new football tricks. Tessa was trying to get in on the action, pink tongue hanging out as she ran around you all. You’d already been handed plenty of drink, a table set up in the corner of the kitchen with every kind of spirit laid out for guests to help themselves to. Massive beer crates were stacked next to the fridge, clearly on a rotation. You had met and talked with so many family friends already, before the groups dispersed and you were waved over by some familiar faces. The boys were taking up a whole section of the garden with their games. Far away from the BBQ and food, as directed by Dom. “What do you say to a game of beer pong?” Harry asked you, shaking out some of the curls that were beginning to stick to his forehead in the sweltering sunshine, “Bet a tenner I’ll sink you.” You laugh, smirking, “Alright kids, you’re on!” He groaned, “I hate that nickname, you’re older than us by literally two months!” Paddy acts as referee as you and Sam pair up against Harry and Harrison who were already squabbling about each other’s techniques. As you watched your last shot dive into the cup, bopping about slightly, you cheer loudly. The competition, beer drinking and sun already heating up your cheeks, staining them pink. You hug Sam in celebration and made a beeline to Harrison for a commiseration’s handshake-turned-hug, hearing Harry to have it out with his twin next to you.   “Cough up, bro.” You held out your hand upright as Harry begrudgingly slapped the ten pounds into your hand. You all start laughing as Harry downs the last cup, not before sloshing it all down himself. //// You’re lounging in a deckchair, listening to some childhood stories of the boys until you feel a shadow block your sun. “Hey darling, you alright?” He hands you two platefuls of food before pulling up an empty deckchair beside you. “Hey! So good. Warning I’ve definitely had more than my fair share of your gross beer.” You thank him for the food, pressing a soft and quick kiss to his cheek as he chuckled at you. He had already taken to the sun, his face now painted with a sun kissed glow. You take a minute, swallowing slightly as you take him in. The food plates resting on your lap, he lounges back slightly, a bottle of beer in one hand. Tess immediately jumps into his shorts clad lap, his striped linen shirt was unbuttoned and his dog tags shifted as she lay down, panting and eyes softly blinking in the sun, mouth upturned as if she was smiling. “You look good.” You whisper as you pass across his food, trying to avoid Tess’s eager snout as you did so. He quirks an eyebrow, “Oh really?” he laughs, “How many beers have you had exactly?” “Well, I played beer pong with your brothers...” He nods his head in understanding, smirking at the slight wobble in your voice. “Did you win?” “You bet I did!” The hand that was resting on Tess’s back he instead used to high-five you, laughing as he turned his head in search of his brothers. That same hand now resting on your bare thigh comfortably as his leg leant against yours. “Well, if you’ve got another round in you later...we can beat them again?” You agree enthusiastically, knowing that you’d be at a slight disadvantage seeing as the sun and alcohol was already going to your head, but that Tom would carry your team easily. More people gather round the two of you with their plates of food, engaging in conversation about golf, work, filming etc kindly including you in their conversations as you munched on your food, hoping it would soak up a little bit of the alcohol. You soon found yourselves back indoors, stomachs nice and full, as you took a break from the sun. Tom was leaning back into the arm of the sofa, wrapping his arm around your back and resting it on the opposite side of you, pulling you super close. He was talking animatedly to the man on his left, one of Dominic’s friends that you’d been introduced to earlier. You were fiddling with Toms tags, lightly dragging them back and forth on their chain as he conversed about his latest job. “I found it!” Nikki announced as she made her way over to the sofa, everyone shifting up as she squeezed in-between you and Harrison’s girlfriend, who you’d been chatting with on the opposite side of the couch. Tom groaned. “Not another one mum! I’m surprised you still have any left to show at this point.” Nikki ignored his objections before pulling open the photo album, and immediately you were taken in by the cute small toddler in a variety of places around the house; in the bath, under the christmas tree, in his high chair with chocolate birthday cake all round his face, outside in the grass on a blanket - giant smile plastered across his little face. Tom had rested his chin on your head, peeking over you. His cold tags making your back flinch slightly at the change in temperature. you cooed and laughed along with her as she took you through the book, telling you stories about her eldest, mischievous son. You could feel the vibrations against you as he laughed at different pictures, his mum leaning across to ruffle his hair. “You two would have the cutest kids, I’m just saying-“ Nikki blurted out. Tom groaned and immediately pulls himself and you up off the couch, “-I’m just saying! Tom!” “Oh, here we go! Mum you’re cut off,” he says laughing, guiding you back out into the sunshine, and past the BBQ, “Dad, mums at it again.” Dom sighs, then laughs before heading inside, “What has got into her!”   You stifle a giggle, Tom with a hand on either shoulder his body pressed flush against you as he propelled you through the throng of people gathered round a fire pit, and led you back to the beer pong table. “Please ignore everything my mother just said.” You spin around quickly so you’re chest to chest. Bringing a hand up to cup the back of his neck as you pull him down just slightly, whispering in his ear, “Whilst we’re definitely not ready for kids yet, I’m definitely not against some practice in techniques...are you?” He pulls his head back sharply, golden eyes coming to life in the glittering sun. His entire face breaks out into a smile, “You’re such a tease, move it!”
Spinning you back around, he presses you forward brushing your hair behind your shoulder as he sinks some light kisses into the side of your neck, as you both continue towards the beer pong. You pretend to shove him off, his breath tickling your cheek.
“PDA! PDA! Ew, get a room guys!” Paddy jokes, cupping his hand around his mouth and announcing to the garden. “What are you, twelve?! That’s it Pads!” Tom suddenly bounds away from you, leading to a chase as Paddy runs nimbly around the garden; dodging people, chairs, cups and plates - Tom hot on his heels. You burst out laughing, shaking your head as Tom lifted Paddy, chucking him over his shoulder. You sat yourself down on the dry grass, waiting for the boys to finish their play fighting. As you do, you feel a soft body lean itself against you, tail hitting off your legs. “Hey baby,” you murmur, clapping and stoking Tess as she lay belly up in the sun, “Whose a clever girl?” //// “Here.” You sit up, having been lying on the grass since the latest beer pong match which led to copious amounts of drinking games. You’d questioned if the world would stop spinning if you lay down, a chorus of laughter coming from the boys and their friends.  Tom passes you a glass of ice-cold water which you gratefully take, before hunkering down next to you himself, sitting with his knees up and his arms clasped around them. You take a couple sips before balancing your cup in the tufts of grass, he opens up one of his arms and you cuddle into him. “Your brothers suck,” you joke, the water chasing away your light headache. He laughs. “Thank you for pushing our trip back to fit this in,” You rest your head on his shoulder and look out at all the people, still having a great time despite the fact the sun was slowly disappearing below the trees. “Tom. Of course, my folks completely understand. I love your family and you don’t always get the time off to see them. What’s one extra day, hm?” He turns his face to look at you and you lift your head off his shoulder. You had a spattering of pink across your cheekbones and nose, your freckles peeking out. Your hair was falling out of its messy half up-do. yes twinkling as you looked up at him through your lashes. His hand brushed against your hair and the side of your face before he tilted your chin upwards and took your mouth in his, brushing his lips against yours. You smiled into the kiss, letting him press soft clusters of kisses on your nose and cheekbones. You laugh and bring him back to the centre. “I love you,” he announced, taking a breath before kissing you again - you unconsciously reached for the back of his neck to pull yourself in closer. “I love you too.” you sigh, shifting yourself to now lie between Toms’ legs. letting him whisper soothing words into your ears, of all the places you were going to visit on your trip.
“Oi lovebirds,” Harry comes bouncing over to the two of you. Tom leaning back on his elbows as you sit comfortably between his legs, him tightening them around you.
“I took these. Thought you might like them. Who’d of thought? You guys actually look really cute.” You hit his arm, as he dramatically yelps and rubs at the attacked area.
He held out the polaroid’s as Tom balanced on one elbow, shifting his weight to the left as he reached out and took the pictures.
“These are actually sick Haz, thanks bro!” He shifts back, sitting up with your back pressed flush to his stomach as he brought his arms round for you both to look at the small collection of photographs Harry had taken throughout the day.
You smile wide at the joy and love plastered on your faces, a tiny miniature you beaming up at your goofy boyfriend squinting in the sunlight. You feel Tom’s arms wrap around you tighter. breathing each other in, you feel him relax behind you, you trace patterns along his sun kissed skin with your fingers as the sun begins to paint the sky in gorgeous oranges and pinks.

MASTERPOST
When you woke the next morning, it was to the sound of a muffled melody. The room was cast in a fiery orange glow as the rising sun peeked in through the window. You sat up in bed, straining your ears to listen.
Noticeably missing, was Josh - the side of the bed he had been sleeping on was turned down, but you placed your hand on the sheets to find them cold.
The chill on the hardwood made your toes curl as you padded across it, first to your bedroom to pull on a pair of sweatpants, and then back to Josh’s room to slip one of his sweatshirts over your bare chest.
Once you were no longer naked, and a little more awake, you quickly figured out that the music was coming from under the closed bathroom door, and you stopped in front of it to have a listen.
The sound of Josh’s voice carried well into the hall, though he was keeping it quiet, probably for your benefit.
You placed your fingers over your mouth absently as you listened to the notes rise to a lovely height and then dip down again. You couldn’t quite make out the words, but you didn’t need to.
It shocked you enough to make you flinch when he opened the bathroom door abruptly - you had figured he was just taking a pause in the song.
When he spotted you, he jumped back, letting a curse fall from his lips. “God, I didn’t think you’d be awake yet - you almost gave me a heart attack,” he blurted through an exasperated smile.
“I’ve never heard you sing before,” you said, just above a whisper in the quiet space. “Your voice is so lovely.”
He looked you up and down for a second, his face turning peachy. “I haven’t wanted to for a while. Outside of school, anyway.”
You let a smile find your lips at the implication of his words, and it fell silent between you again. He was standing, posture unsure as he, undoubtedly, tried to gauge whether everything was still okay after last night.
The temptation to touch him was too much, especially once you realized he probably needed all the reassurance you could give. His skin was warm as you reached out and ran your fingertips lightly over the pink skin on his cheek. He careened into your touch, turning his head just enough to press a kiss into the meaty part of your thumb. The gesture made your chest feel tight.
“Come back to bed,” you suggested through a whisper and watched him suck his bottom lip into his mouth, teeth visibly pressing into the plush skin.
“I can’t,” he replied breathily as you took his chin between your thumb and forefinger. “I don’t have the time.”
You nodded back at him with a teasing smile. “Sure you do.”
“Don’t tempt me, babe,” he pleaded from low in his chest. “I have a show at noon.”
You breathed a laugh, threading your fingers through his hair. “Call me that again,” you said against his ear. It was you dragging your teeth over his earring that made him groan.
“Please - for the love of god - keep this energy for when I get back tonight.”
You hummed, pressing a kiss to the peak of his cheekbone. “Okay. Can I help?”
“Oh, yeah, for sure. Just wait for me here - it’ll probably help save time if you’re naked ahead of time-”
You smacked his shoulder, pulling a delighted laugh from his chest - always excited to say something stupid. “With the show.”
“If you’d like to, I’d love to have you. But you’re going to have to hustle and get dressed,” he instructed.
You scoffed. “Not the noon show-” You turned back towards his room and looked back over your shoulder. “No, right now I’m going back to bed.”
+++
You hadn’t put any thought at all into what you’d wear for the other two shows you’d be attending - you knew you could recycle the dress once on Sunday if you paired it with something else, but for Saturday evening’s show, you were stuck crawling to the only other person you knew whose clothes would fit you.
This time when you approached Kate’s house, you had come prepared with a milk-bone, which was good, because it was her huge dog that greeted you. When he stood up on his hind legs, he was able to look directly into your eyes through the glass on the door, his tail wagging.
You watched Kate round the corner into the entrance hall, wearing a knee-length black robe, the silk shining as she moved in the sunlight. She gave you a puzzled look, cracking the door.
“Sorry to show up unannounced,” you said with an insincere smile. “Can I give your dog a treat?”
She laughed at you, opening the door the whole way and letting you slip in.
“I’m going to assume that you’re not just here to make Yeti fat.” Her voice sounded a bit too knowing for your taste.
“You’re right! I’m also here to raid your closet, if you’ll let me,” you replied. “I need an outfit for the show tonight.”
She started down the hall and towards her room, ushering for you to follow. “You’re going again?”
You nodded, though she wasn’t looking directly at you. “Yeah, of course.”
When you got into her room, you sat on her bed, and you absolutely wouldn’t have noticed Jake if Yeti hadn’t instantly trotted over to him to sit by his feet. He was sitting at a little circular cafe-style table in the corner of her room, a mug of something hot in front of him.
You glanced over at him and were met with a cheeky little smirk.
“You - uh. Yeah, I’m going to help with the show tonight,” you said after you decided you weren’t ready to address that situation yet.
“Ah,” she started, and though she was facing away from you into the closet, you could hear a matching smirk through her voice. “I really only have clothes that match my style, which I would define as ‘mildly tramp’.”
You hummed contemplatively. “Let’s start with the most professional ensemble and then work our way back. Maybe something you’d wear to a wedding?”
“You don’t want something I’d wear to a wedding,” she teased but pulled out a few garments all the same.
“So, uhm. Am I interrupting something?” you finally chanced, sneaking a glance back at Jake.
“Not at all,” Kate replied, unhelpfully. “Now go try some of these on and tell me what you think.”
In the end, the only thing she owned that you deemed acceptable - and also even remotely your style was a thigh-length, black dress - form-fitting.
You stared at it dubiously in the mirror.
You’d have to put a coat over it, but you thought you could make it work.
“Are we going to talk?” Kate asked, a little smirk playing on her lips as she held her nails out to inspect them. They were unpainted but perfectly manicured.
You chanced a glance over at Jake - who was now sitting on the floor with Yeti nearly in his lap. He was working his fingers through the thick, white fur as he met your eyes.
“Yeah, let’s talk about it,” he agreed, flashing you his teeth.
Luckily enough, you found the moment more humorous than embarrassing, so you just scratched absentmindedly at the back of your neck.
“Well,” you started and then paused as you tried to figure out how much was appropriate to disclose. “I’m going to his show again tonight. And tomorrow.”
Kate huffed, feigning impatience. “Yeah, okay, but that doesn’t tell me anything because you’d do that anyway.”
You gave her a playful shrug. “That’s all I got for you right now. But I’ll tell you all about it when I’ve processed everything.”
“Ooh, shit. That sounds juicy.” Her eyes lit up as she spoke, making you chuckle. You turned your attention to Jake again then.
“And I’m sure you’ll hear all about it,” You flicked your eyes back over to Kate in an accusatory look. “One way or another.”
+++
That night you sat in the audience alone - well, not alone, but without Kate or Jake. Most of the seats were filled again, at least partially with faces you remembered seeing the night before.
The show was just as fun and entertaining as the last, except this time, when Josh walked out onto the stage at the end, he met your eyes for a moment, letting them linger before tugging a couple of his kids into a side hug and smiling wide for all the parents.
As soon as most people had dissipated, he met you at your seat, but before he could even open his mouth to greet you, a parent of one of the kids was shaking his hand. The dad poured his praises, thanking Josh for working with his daughter - you guessed maybe it was Alice, but you had nothing to base that guess on. Josh handled it effortlessly, charming as ever.
By the time the parent had left you, you and Josh were some of the last people still lingering.
“I’ve gotta grab my stuff backstage,” he informed you, tiling his jaw up in that general direction. “Wanna come?”
With a smile, you nodded an agreement and let him offer you a hand as you made your way out of the tight seats.
Backstage was infinitely more chaotic than it was when you’d last seen it. Set pieces were strewn about - not unorganized, but everywhere. You had to weave through them to get to where his backpack was propped against a folding table, costume accessories spilling off the surface of it.
“Do you want me to help clean up back here?” you asked, eyeing the messes. He hummed through a smile.
“Nah, I’ve got a system,” he informed you, and then after you gave him a doubtful look, he added, “Seriously. And until you’re directing a cast of children in a play that you produced, I don’t want to hear your objections.”
His teasing tone made you bite back a grin. “It’s amazing - really. I’m just offering my help.”
The backpack looked heavy as he slung it over his shoulder, holding the strap across his chest with both hands. “Then take me home,” he requested playfully, flicking his eyes to the back exit.
“Happily.”
+++
On Sunday, after the very last matinee show, you spent an hour helping him sort all the costumes - every tiny piece in a garment bag and labeled accordingly.  The rest, he insisted, he would work on during school hours the following day.
You suddenly wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in for a hug, resting your temple on his shoulder and taking a moment to relish in the fact that you’d taken him by surprise.
“I want to take you out tonight - a congratulations of sorts,” you said as you leaned back far enough to see his cheeks flush a flattering peachy color.
“Really?”
“Only if you want to.” You paired your sentence with a casual shrug.
He flashed you a pleased smile. “Of course I want to. I’d love that,” he agreed.
You let him pick the place, and in the end, he landed on a hole-in-the-wall diner that he swore was the absolute best place to get pancakes in the middle of the night. Even though it was close to nine, you both sipped on coffee as you waited for your order.
“I can’t believe it’s over,” he said as you watched his fingers idly rub across the ceramic mug in his hands. “There was so much lead-up and drama that it feels weird for it all to be behind me.”
“It was really incredible, Josh. I honestly can’t believe that you pulled it off with all that went wrong.”
He looked up at you through his fan of lashes. He looked tired, but not uncomfortably so - just enough that you knew he worked his ass off.
“We pulled it off. I could have never done it without you,” he stated, charmingly earnest as always.
You huffed a humorless laugh. “That’s not true - If I hadn’t moved in, you’d never have lost your assistant in the first place.”
His expression melted away until his face was blank. “I-”
He paused, visibly trying to figure out how he wanted to word the next line out of his mouth. “That wasn’t your fault. I didn’t really know what was happening until it was too late to change it.”
“I know, I just. I’m happy that it ended up this way, I just wish it hadn’t almost derailed your whole production.” You could feel your features slip into something mournful, making him frown.
He was quiet for a moment before speaking again. “How do you even know about that?”
You hummed. “Kate told me. Jake told her.”
He glared off into the distance, but on him, the look was completely unthreatening. It was so out of place that it made you giggle.
“I’m not sure I like how close they are,” he grumbled through a smile he couldn’t hold back.
“Yeah, I hear you. I went to her house this morning to rummage for this dress-”
He cut you off, eyes raking over your form. “You look amazing, by the way.”
You gave him a pointed look and a little eye roll, though you had to admit you were flattered.
“Yes, well, Jake was at her house this morning. Petting her dog.”
His eyebrows lifted, lashes blinking a few times in surprise. After a moment, he cleared his throat and spoke again. “Well. I suppose you got what you wanted then, right?”
The irritation that was evident on your features was unwarranted - you knew that in your heart, but it didn’t stop you from letting out a childish huff.
“Yeah, but I didn’t think you and I would be-”
You cut yourself off just as his eyes flicked up at you over the rim of his mug.
“You and I would be what?” he asked coyly. You took a moment to admire the fact that his cheeks and the bridge of his nose were still a bit tanned despite it now being well into winter. A little like a bronze statue.
“I didn’t think you and I would be...a thing,” you finished simply, keeping your tone light.
He quirked an eyebrow at you, all too suspicious for your liking. “No?”
A puzzled look flashed across your face. “No,” you agreed. “Why? What does that mean?”
He took a too-long sip of coffee, holding your eyes just to fuck with you - you were sure. He cheekily bit his bottom lip as he figured out how to word what he wanted to say. “Nothing really,” he assured, though you were unconvinced.
You were going to press the topic further, but your thought was cut short when the server showed up with a tray of your food and another carafe of hot coffee. He made light conversation with Josh as he filled both of your mugs near to the brim, and you watched the steam rise off of it as you pondered which flavored syrup you’d drown your pancakes in.
The sound of the little metal cup of creamer being slid across the tabletop toward you got your attention, and your eyes lingered on Josh’s hand as his fingers brushed past yours.
“Cream, babe?” he inquired, though he was well aware of exactly how you took your coffee.
Your heart skipped a beat as you processed what he’d said. That was the second time he’d called you that in the months you’d known him, and it had the same effect on you this time that it had the last time. You met his eyes, catching his fingers with yours for just a brief second, forcing a mischievous smile to his lips.
You poured a bit of cream into your coffee and stirred it until it was a medium brown.
“You can’t help yourself, can you?” you asked fondly and watched him bite his bottom lip absently to try and keep his smile from stretching into a grin.
“Help myself from what?” His tone was cheeky, informing you that he knew exactly what you were talking about. It was evident that the two of you were playing a game now - something light and coy. You paused to take a bite or two of your food, happy enough to leave him in suspense for a moment longer.
“Calling me that.”
He hummed, low in his throat. “Is that not alright?”
“Doesn’t it seem a bit out of place?” You watched as he reached across the table to stab at a piece of your pancake, bringing it to his mouth and chewing it before giving his answer.
“Why would it? Are we not on a date right now?”
A look of genuine shock flashed across your features. Not caring how rude it was, you asked through a mouth full of food, “Are we?”
There was a long pause in the conversation as he ate, and you wondered for a moment if you had upset him until he looked back up at you. He was biting back a smile as he leaned back in his seat.
“Back before the musical, you were complaining about the cold - do you remember?”
You frowned in concentration as you searched your brain. “Which time? I pretty frequently complain about the temperature here.”
He breathed a laugh. “Yeah, you do. I thought you were going to freeze to death at first. But there was something you said that glued itself to my frontal lobe.”
You gave him a questioning look, prompting him to continue.
“You said, ‘if we move away from here, can we move somewhere warm?’.” He just held your eyes for a moment as your heart beat suddenly inched toward erratic. “We.”
You took a deep breath, suddenly feeling a little jittery and took another bite of pancake before you could say something truly stupid.
After a moment of silence to let you process, he spoke again. “So, I think maybe you knew we would end up being a ‘thing’, right?”
“I don’t know a whole lot, Josh,” you admitted, reaching out and placing your hand on his and lightly running your fingers over his skin. “But, I do know that since the moment I met you, I wanted to be close with you. You’re magnetic. I truly think you could have anyone you wanted if they listened to you talk - just once.”
Despite having been the one to start the whole conversation, a peachy pink tint surfaced across his cheeks and nose at the compliment.
Clearly not interested in continuing such an intimate conversation at a busy diner, he placed his palm flat on the table and asked,  “Are you ready to get out of here? I think if I drink any more coffee my heart might give out.”
“You could just switch to decaf,” you suggested, smirking at him as he squinted back at you like you had personally insulted him.
He stood and leaned across the table until his face was only six inches or so from yours. “I’d rather die, thank you.”

A/N: I really need to stop writing so late at night... I finish writing sometimes at 2 or 3 in the morning but I have to wake up at 5:30!! God, why do I do that to myself?! But its all worth it because I love reading your comments and seeing your likes and shares <3
Tumblr media
[previous]                                                                                               [next]
You waved your arms in the air, signaling to his men where you were. How worried and concerned they looked couldn’t be explained with words. It was like they didn’t even look at him as their prince. They viewed him more as a close family member than their future king.
Everyone crowded around Bakugou wanting to be the one to help him up. But ultimately, it was Kirishima and Sero who supported him, one on each side as they helped sling his arms over their shoulders. Bakugou growled in pain every time he moved or took a step. Your eyebrows furrowed in concern and you couldn’t take your eyes off him. You deeply wanted to help him, but what more could you do? Sure, you helped stop the bleeding a little bit but surely there was something else you could do. You wanted to be the one he leaned on. You didn’t want to feel useless. And it was frustrating because you knew you could be of more help. You didn’t want to look like a princess who didn’t know how to do anything.
Mina happened to glance over at you while you mentally criticized yourself. Your hands were balled up in fists in front of you, your pouty lips were quivering, and you couldn’t take your eyes off the wounded prince. Mina’s eyes softened. She came up to you, took your hands in hers, and gave you a reassuring smile.
“Don’t worry about that drama queen. He’s going to be fine. He can handle a small cut like that. He’s not called the infamous Blood Prince for nothing,” Mina assured you, making you feel a little bit better but no doubt, still worried.
You all stopped to rest about that ambush. No one else was hurt and nothing had been taken, just a few broken carriages but that’s all. One soldier was setting up a fire to heat up some drinks, two of them were looking at a map and depicting which route was safest to cross, and another was tending to Bakugou’s wounds. Thankfully, there was a whole cart of medicine. They applied medicine skillfully to his cut. This must happen a lot that they know exactly what to do without a doctor. You could only watch as you sit next to him, your eyes never leaving his cut. As his soldier was about to cover his wound back up, you held your hand out to stop him.
“May I?” you offered. The soldier was taken aback at the request, not expecting you to offer your assistance but gladly let you after seeing your determined face.
“As you wish, princess,” he backed off to leave the rest to you. You took hold of the bandages and began to wrap them around his torso.
“You let me know if it starts to hurt again,” you demanded as you finished wrapping him up.
“I’ll be fine,” he grumbled. You didn’t like his answer so you tightened your knot a little too tight for his liking and he winced in pain.
“I’m serious,” you pouted. Bakugou could laugh at your reaction but decided against it.
“Is her highness upset with me?” he questioned and you couldn’t hold back your thoughts.
“How could you get hurt like that?” you exploded. “You had me so worried. What if you had gotten killed? What would I have done then? You shouldn’t let yourself get distracted, especially not because of me.” You were scolding him but Bakugou’s lips turned into a deep frown. He grabbed you by the wrists, making you face him.
“Surely her highness isn’t saying that she is not of importance?” his deep voice whispered, raising one eyebrow in curiosity. Having his face so close to yours made you flustered.
“Well…” you tried to say but couldn’t finish.
“To me, you are the most important person here. I would battle a hundred swordmen and lose all my limbs if it means that you are safe,” he said, seriously. Your lips parted in surprise by his sudden confession. When Bakugou snapped back to his senses, he was the one to become flustered this time.
“B-Because you are the future queen… o-of course,” he tried brushing off, looking away like it was nothing. Any feeling of happiness that you had slowly turned into disappointment. Of course, he was only protecting you because he thinks you are the princess, his future bride. If it was you, you were sure he wouldn’t be saying these things. But you tried to not let it get to you.
“Bakugou, princess!” you heard Sero’s voice behind you. You both turned to see Sero running towards you with two cups in his hands, careful not to spill its contents. “Freshly made. Drink it before it gets too cold.” He squatted, carefully giving you both a cup.
“Thank you,” you gave Sero a smile.
“Ah, also,” Sero stopped to pull out a map from his back pocket. “Kirishima was looking at the map again and if we go through this route, we can probably avoid any more bandits.” He said while showing Bakugou the new route.
“Can we still make it there in two days time?” Bakugou asked.
“Yes sir,” Sero said confidently.
“Good man. We’ll leave in 10,” Bakugou gave Sero a nod of approval. When he left, Bakugou attempted to get up from his position. He held onto the tree for support and grunted in pain as he started to stand.
“What are you doing?” you questioned, puzzled on what he was doing. Instinctively, you grabbed hold onto his arm to help support him.
“Leaving. I have to make sure everything is intact,” he said and still tried to stand tall. You pushed him back down and shoved the cup back in his hands.
“At least finish this. I’ll go do it for you,” you say. Before Bakugou had the chance to refuse your offer, you were already on your feet, running to the group of soldiers. Bakugou watched while you were frantically making sure that you had all the supplies and checking everything like he would. Although, being a rookie, you were bad at your job. The soldiers laughed, making you feel embarrassed yet welcomed by them. They told you everything you needed to check so that next time, you could do it yourself. With a smirk, Bakugou watched in amusement.
You traveled on the new route Kirishima had set for you all. But because it wasn’t the normal road they took, it was a bumpy ride with the ground being uneven. You thought you would be fine continuing on, but you became a little jumpy due to the recent events that just happened. Every snap of a twig or rustle of the bushes, you turned your head to make sure that no other bandits were sneaking up on you.
“Scared, princess?” Bakugou whispered in your ear. You huffed and crossed your arms.
“No,” you denied.
“Like I said, I’ll protect you no matter the cost,” he reminded you. He was loud enough for his other soldiers to hear. Mina gushed over his comment while the others had their mouths wide open. Bakugou? The Blood Prince? Saying these romantic remarks to a woman? Now this was a new sight to see. Kirishima, on the other hand, was smiling softly at the new couple. He couldn’t wait to see your relationship bloom into something beautiful.
Being that the road you were on was so uneven, you had to hold on tight so that you didn’t fall off the horse. At one point, the horse became scared, lifting on his hind legs. You gasped out loud and closed your eyes to brace yourself for a fall. But Bakugou had swooped his arm around your waist and stabilized both of you to stay on the horse.
“See, gotcha,” the prince teased. You covered your face so he couldn’t see how flushed your face was. Bakugou chuckled because he knew. He could tell you were flustered and that’s the exact reaction he wanted to get out of you.
As promised, in two days time, you made it to your next destination. What you saw wasn’t a lively town, filled with vibrant colors and a chorus of people. There were no food stands that sold a variety of foods and desserts. No whiff of saliva-inducing smells. No entertainment on the street for you to enjoy.
You saw a poor village; with run-down houses and starving people all over the streets. The atmosphere turned sad, like a gray cloud was constantly over this place. The life out of this town was completely sucked out. The image was so heartbreaking that you could break down in tears this very instant.
“Bakugou,” your voice cracked.
“I know,” he said, just as sad and disappointed you were, probably even more. “This is the other side of the kingdom that no one gets to see. Most of this kingdom is living in poverty. Everyone knows of the more lavish side, but in reality, what you are currently seeing is most of my kingdom. There are two completely different worlds here but no one, not my brothers not the kind, is doing anything about it. I don’t even know how to fix it.” He explained. You reached a certain, open area and Bakugou got off, so did every soldier. They began unloading all their supplies. You could see a line starting to form not far from you guys.
“And this is the only way I can think of to help,” he said, offering his hand to you. You took it, hoping off the horse.
“How often do you do this?” you ask, still in shock with what you were seeing.
“Every month or so? I try as often as I can,” he replied as he also started unpacking the crates from the cart. Food, medicine, spare clothes, they had it all. The realization hit you. So that’s why they packed so many things in the beginning. It was for his people. His men were almost done setting up, getting ready to pass out rations to his people. But you were standing to the side awkwardly.
No. There was no doubt in your mind that you wanted to help him. You moved to stand next to Bakugou, proactively helping to pass out food rations.
“You don’t have to do this, you know. Aren’t you embarrassed as a princess?” Bakugou asked without sparing you a glance.
“Never. I want to help,” you said as confidently as you could, giving him eyes of determination. Bakugou finally looked at you, his heart skipping a beat again. He coughed, beating on his chest a few times.
You smiled at everyone who came in line, welcoming them without a single judgment. You looked down the line and all his soldiers were doing the same thing. They do this so often that the people recognize them and are laughing and having a good time. For living in such poor conditions, their spirits weren’t down.
After every single person had gotten their rations, you thought the work was over. Oh, how you were wrong. Once that was over with, his men started carrying out more things from the crates. This time, it was wood. They were going to help repair some homes. You were going to find Bakugou but immediately turned around when he took his cape and you saw him completely shirtless.
“You can sit this one out princess. This’ll get a little messy,” he advised. But you shook your head, still facing away from him.
“No, I want to help!” you were still determined. He chuckled at you.
“If you want to help, you’re gonna have to face the other way,” he pointed out. You took a deep breath and had the courage to face him. But only, your stare was straight down at the floor instead of him. How could you? With him being shirtless and all. Was that even necessary?
Bakugou took an axe and started chopping some wood. Your job was to bring the chopped wood to his soldiers who were the ones building the houses.
You eventually got tired bringing the wood back and forth, so you took a seat next to Bakugou who was nonstop chopping wood. The sweat was glistening his body in a godly matter. You couldn’t take your eyes away from his chest, that was heaving up and down. And then add some sweat? Phew, it made you feel hot.
“How long as this been going on?” you started a conversation.
“Ha?” he turned to you, not expecting you say anything so he was a tad out of it. “Ah, all my life.” He said. He decided that he’ll take a break too. He put down the axe and sat down next to you.
“If my father didn’t lie, these people probably wouldn’t be living like this,” he commented.
“Your father lied?” you asked curiously. Bakugou couldn’t believe that he was actually saying this, but he felt comfortable enough with you that he did.
“When he became King, he promised that he would protect every life in his kingdom. But look at all these people. They are suffering and dying because they are not getting the help that they need. And my father is neglecting them! He is a liar who couldn’t commit to a promise!” Bakugou started getting heated up. “That’s why I hate liars. I’ll ruin anyone who lies to me.”
And when he said that, your heart physically dropped.
A/N: Can I just say, you're gonna LOVE the next chapter. I literally just know it because I LOVE IT!
Also, does anyone else just read these chapters and think of it as an anime? No? Just me? Honestly, if I'm the only one that does this I'm gonna feel like such an idiot.

Yaksha’s Destiny || Xiao
DARKNESS was the biggest fear held by fellow Yakshas. This power bestowed upon you and many alike gave an opening to the pitting shadows that raged within your chambers. Some days, it wasn't as bad -- other days... it felt like you were getting ripped apart into shreds, taking in all your willpower to battle against it. It was tempting, to give in and call it quits. Life for a Yaksha wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. There were always too many demons and not enough heroes. Especially for a weaker one like you, anger and frustration would stem from these battles, only to eat at you later on.
Today was one of those days. The sky was a stormy sea of clouds, with the Gods crying from the heaven above. Droplets prickled down your bare skin, cold to the touch. While in the mountainside, you had stumbled upon demonic energy, so there was no choice but to finish them off.
Dodging the monster that lunged at you, you took out your polearm. The hydro vision on your hip gleamed brightly in the setting. Taking a turn, you could feel power surge to your arms. As you were about to jab your weapon into the demon's abdomen, they had ducked in time. Shit. You had underestimated this one.
Its body rammed into you, knocking you off your feet. Air left your system, causing you to groan in pain. Just as it was about to sink its teeth into your arm, you rolled over on one side and jumped back to your feet. Fingers clenching tightly around the metal stick, you pushed your hind legs and tried to stab at it another time. Your speed and reaction time was too slow. Too damn slow. Too damn weak. Gritting your teeth, you began to use up more of Yaksha's power, drinking the exhilarating taste of freedom. It was so addicting... often times, you'd wished it'd never stop.
A burst of water shrouded from the weapon, circling the demon until it was surrounded. With one, clean fell swoop, you sliced the demon and the energy faded away. The deed was done.
Falling to your knees, your entire body was shaking. Face contorted and in pain, nails dug into the earth to feel wet mud. Your body would not move -- it could not. Stilling there as if you had just been paralyzed, hungering thoughts plagued your mind... Thoughts you wished weren't yours. Letting out a disgusting whimper, similar to that of a wounded animal, you bit down on your lip, hard. Blood dribbled down your chin, painting the grass in crimson. Tugging at your mask, you stared at it for a moment. A sigh let out.
That was a close one. Crashing to the ground, your chest heaved up and down in exhaustion.
A figure suddenly entered your peripheral vision. Climbing up to the ridge of the mountain was Xiao, his dark teal locks blowing along with the harsh winds. Donned in his usual robes, he was as attractive as ever. The first time you stumbled upon him -- one of the famous five -- you nearly forgot to breathe. You had referred to him as Alatus then, starstrucked by such a powerful being.
You would never not awed by him. The way he held himself would always come to remind you of the big gap in strength between the two of you. Maybe you did establish a relationship with this all-mighty Yaksha, but this inferiority complex was tugging your strings more than you'd like to admit.
At the same time, he provided you the distraction needed. He kept you grounded, which prevented you from going mad. He was the only one who made you feel human, if that was even possible.
Golden amber hues landed on you, withholding an unreadable expression. He walked up to your beaten up form and sat down, unbothered by the rain. Struggling to get yourself into a sitting position, you looked out at the view in front.
"You used up too much of your power again," he murmured.
"Do you think I don't know that? I had no choice," you sighed.
His sharp eyes narrowed further. "You were being careless."
"It happened. There's nothing I can do to change it." His anger barely dwindled and the scowl only deepened. "Come on, Xiao. I don't want to talk about my mistakes when I'm with you. Busy as we are, I barely get to see you as of late. Can't we just enjoy our brief time together?"
That got him. His eyes softened at your words and he reluctantly nodded in agreement. Seizing the victory, you laid your head on his shoulder, feeling warmth even upon this cold weather. The rain was starting to let down too -- perhaps Xiao was the lucky charm.
"What have you been up to?" you inquired.
"Demons. Monsters. The usual," he responded. His cheeks tinged with a soft pink all of a sudden. "I... I also got you something."
Your ears perked up at the sound of this. Lifting your head, you watched him in curiosity. He took something out from his robe pockets and slowly opened his palm. Laying there was a blue, glowing object. Shaped as a butterfly, it was gorgeous. You had never seen this kind of butterfly around these parts. He must have traveled far to have found it.
"It's a crystalfly," he mumbled, averting his eyes in embarrassment. Your heart raced at his actions. He was too cute. Before meeting him, you could have never imagined the Vigilant Yaksha to possess such qualities. "I saw it and... thought it would look good in your hair."
"Oh, I love it. Thank you," you whispered breathlessly, touched beyond words. This was exactly what you meant with how Xiao could easily brush your problems away with a smile.
Before you could stop yourself, you leaned in and kissed his lips. They were soft as petal leaves. He returned the gesture immediately, arms wrapped around you in a warm embrace. Digging your fingers into his hair, you kissed with a ferocity that was never present in your fights. This was to release the pain you dealt with today. As long Xiao was here, you were going to be okay. As long as he was by your side, you were going to be okay. This era of demons and gods will end someday, leaving you a happy future with him.
You tasted him. His lips. His mouth. His entire self. He tasted of mint. He tasted of life. He tasted of iron. The kind of metal tang found in blood. Sighs were exchanged upon each kiss, breathless but the two of you would not let the other go. Your lips trailed down to his jaw, peppering his baby-soft skin with a few nibbles here and there. He let out a gasp.
Finally you pulled away, giggling at his flustered state for your bold moves.
The end was nearing. He picked up the crystal fly and reached up to your [h/c] hair. While he gently pinned it down, you could only focus on his swollen lips. He was beautiful... and you loved him so.
"[Y/N]," he said, interrupting the honey silence of the mountains. "If you are ever in trouble, just call my name and I will come to you. In any circumstance, avoid overusing your power."
This bliss that left you giddy disappeared as quick as it came. All that remained was the harsh, cruel reality. Brows knitted together in offense and you quickly shook your head. "Why would I do that? I'm a Yaksha. What kind of Yaksha seeks help from another? This wounds my pride, Xiao. Is your faith in my skill and strength that low?"
"No. That's not it," he argued, features twisted in desperation. "Why won't you let me protect you?"
"Unbelievable," you merely scoffed, staggering up to stand. "I have to go. I'm sure you do too."
Ignoring his blubbering protests, you jumped down upon ledges until you reached ground level safely. He didn't understand what you had to go through. He never had to face judgement from those who didn't believe in you. Strong enough to battle the demons both externally and internally, Xiao was different from you. But even so... even if his words meant that he only cared for you, it hurt like you had been just stabbed.
You were willing to prove to him that you could stand on your own feet. He was going to eat his own words. So would the other Yakshas who looked down on you your entire life. If you trained hard enough, surely improvement could be gained. Right? It wasn't as if destiny could determine what you could accomplish already.
Approaching the forest that was said to contain many strong demons and monsters, you surged ahead, with eyes filled of challenge.
There, sitting in a nook was a cave, Sensing a suffocating presence, you knew you had hit a jackpot. Sneaking across the grassy lands, you stayed silent. The tall, towering trees were beginning to look a lot more ominous. Tiptoeing to the edge of the cave, you peered in to find the energy unbearably strong. One staggering breath later and you went forward. A roar let out, signaling that it knew of its intruder. Shoulders tensed up and sweat beaded your forehead, but you couldn't stop now. No matter what, you were going to go through with it.
It was a beast. Fangs gleamed in the darkness, nearly the size of your weapon. Having woken from its slumber, its terrifying eyes landed on you. Claws swiped the air, which you barely avoided in time. Fear had seized you with a hand, choking you until you could barely move. This was a terrible, foolish move. There was no way you could beat such a demon.
Calling in more power, it filled you up at the core. To waste no time, you delved right into battle, slashing at the monster. It had little to none effect on it. With a lazy swipe of its arm, it slammed you right into the cave's walls, causing you to spit out blood. Pushing yourself up, you tried again, putting in more power to your weapon. Adding hydro to the mix, the weapon hit its arms. It caused the monster to roar in pain, but that only made it more angry. Barreling straight to you, similar but much more frightening than the last demon, it pounced on you, pinning you down to the ground.
Drool left its mouth, splattering all over on your face. Its claws dug into your side and you let out a piercing scream. You were so fucking sick of this shit. Why was it destined that you had to stay weak? It was so unfair you wished to cry your heart out.
The last of the powers was used. Pushing the demon's hold on you, you stumbled up and felt thrill run through. It was delicious, but your mind was also beginning to grow hazy. "X-Xiao..." you uttered out.
The Conqueror of Demons arrived as soon as you called, anxious to apologize for his insensitivity. What he didn't expect to see was a battlefield. A large and strong demon was torn apart to pieces, the iron smell of it so strong, it was gagworthy. Sitting on the pile of bones was you, dark, gruesome scratches decorating your arms and legs. A deep gash was bleeding from your torso and your [e/c] eyes were dimmed; at the same time, they held a crazed look in them.
His face paled and his body grew cold at the sight. You did the thing he last wanted to happen. Already too far in and consumed by the darkness surrounding your whole life, you were looking at him not with love, but with bloodlust. "I'll kill you, Xiao!" you screamed at the top of your lungs.
Climbing down, you tried to run to him. But your footsteps halted and you crashed to the ground. Spazzing out as if you had just been electrocuted by lightning, the Vigilant Yaksha slowly approached you, tears streaming down the side of his face. He kneeled down, cradling your head in his lap. "Don't leave me..." He hit the ground in fury. "Dammit! Why didn't you listen to me!?"
Consciousness returned but you were on the brink of death. The wound was deep, but so were the demons. It was raining again, so you forced a small smile out. "I'm weak. It's my fate," you whispered. "At least I won't have to suffer through this darkness any longer. It's over. I quit. You won, my demons. I am yours to keep."
"Shut your mouth," he snarled. The rain had turned into a storm, adding fury into the mix. "Please. You can make it through this. Don't leave me yet. It was going to get better. An era with no more demons to haunt us. You said so yourself."
"That was just a stupid dream."
"Don't fucking say that," he growled, flinching as if he'd just been slapped. You were supposed to be the optimist here. It meant that this death was real... and that you would accept it with open arms. "It's going to happen. So hold on. Let me find someone to save you."
Your head shook and you winced. "We all learned this since young. We'll die if we let our power consume us. It's impossible and you know it."
"Stop," he choked out, lowering his head until his hair covered his broken expression. "Then don't talk. Save your breath."
You ignored his words. "Thank you... for the crystalfly. Does it look pretty on me?" you murmured.
He heaved out a sob and slowly nodded. "I've never seen anyone more beautiful."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"And I'm sorry."
"I am too."
"Protect... the people... like you always do, my sweet, Vigilant Yaksha." Your voice grew more raspy by the second, for the pain was getting unbearable.
You fluttered your eyes shut and the pain faded. On the other hand, Xiao's pain grew, the scars and trauma there to haunt him, for a life and infinity.

would you mind doing a little scene maybe of caduceusxreader or maybe calebxreader where their s/o ends up hit with pollen during battle that gets them super high alla knott and the floor fruit style please?
Little turned into a bit more of a scenes instead 😅. A little disclaimer; I do not condone the abuse of substances especially not illegal ones. Listen to your auntie Saph, kids! Stay in school and be responsible! 😘
Content Warning: Use of mind altering substances.
It’s the middle of a fight in the jungle. You’re under attack by a large lizard walking on its hind legs, with some rather useless short arms but huge sharp teeth that have munched on Fjord one too many times leaving the half-orc in a bleeding and moody state without much of a chance to get out and not get hit again.
The battlefield is not in your favour considering this oversized lizard is about to turn your friend into its next meal but you still have a healing potion left and really, this is the time to use it but you can’t really get to Fjord without getting close to the lizard thing and even then you doubt you’d be able to get into arms reach of the man. Well it’s now or never and better than the alternative. You rush forward dodging below the toothy maw of the creature.
“Fjord! Catch!” With that you get as close as you can, tossing the healing potion. Fjord just barely catches it, thanking you but that quickly falls silent.
“Look out!” Caleb shouts as he releases a firebolt to strike the lizard. It does not stop the creature from swiping with its tail sending you flying with a brute force knocking the air out of you. Luckily your landing is softened by a comfy bed of flowers, moss and some mushrooms. You land a cloud of spores and pollen dusting around you and entering your lungs as the first breath you’re able to take. It leaves you coughing and sneezing but you shake it off. This is not the right time for allergies to be kicking in. You got a lizard to kill.
Together you fight off the lizard. Still taking quite some good hits you deliver some as well and in the end manage to kill the thing. Some of you worse for wear you unanimously decided taking a breather is probably a good idea. You find a comfy patch of moss that does not release a dust cloud the moment you touch it and let yourself fall into its soft embrace, eyes closed.
“I’m just going to lie down over here. Let me know when we’re moving again.” An odd sense of nausea kicks in so you turn to your side and just curl up in an attempt to get a little more comfortable on the jungle floor.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Caleb asks looking you over. Physically you're a bit worse for wear but not terribly so. A moment of rest should have you back on your feet. You phase out a bit letting yourself be dragged off in a moment of rest.
Not but five minutes later your moment of peace is disturbed by a warm, really warm but comfortable hand being placed on your arm and shaking you lightly. You curl up a little tighter before rolling on your back and meeting the bright blue eyes of Caleb. You don’t recall them being that bright, maybe more like a muted or pale blue but now they’re vibrant. Odd you hadn’t noticed before. Same goes for his hair, red is more fiery orange and you swear you can pick apart every single strand on his head as well as the light stubble he’s sporting.
"Hey." You smile at the wizard lovingly. You'll never tire of waking up to Caleb no matter of how much you might want to continue sleeping. Caleb's a handsome man but right now he looks absolutely angelic with the bleeding light creating a halo around him.
Maybe it’s just because of the faded green background behind Caleb that throws off the contrast? Besides, you might have fallen asleep in your five minutes of rest, your vision usually goes a bit blurry until things come into focus but that doesn’t really explain why Caleb is so high focus now… Odd but you dismiss it as exhaustion and the vast jungle getting to you. No, you definitely hit your head when that lizard tail swiped you. Maybe you have a concussion. Should ask the clerics to check that out later once they’ve gotten their rest. Now's not the time to bother them.
“Hey. Time to get up. We’re ready to move before nightfall comes around.” Ugh. Even his voice sounds angelic now? Caleb offers you a hand and helps you up from the comforts of your moss-bed. Somewhat reluctant you get up. The nausea gets worse and you put a hand over your mouth suppressing the urge to vomit.
“Are you alright?” Caleb stabilises you as you stumble a little, dizziness not making your nausea any better. Sweet gods those warm hands just make you want to curl up into their warmth forever but you repress the urge well aware Caleb isn’t exactly the fondest of pda and keep it more surface levels with the others around.
“Yeah. Totally fine just a bit ugh but I’ll be fine. Some more sleep will probably do me good.” You see the rest of the Nein is packed up and ready to continue. Weren’t they just unpacking when you closed your eyes five minutes ago? Okay so maybe those five minutes were closer to an hour or so? What kind of exhaustion fuelled time warp did you get stuck in? This exhaustion is really getting to you. You need a vacation; one with Caleb. Maybe with an ocean view? That sounds nice. You're getting side tracked. Time to travel.
------------
The journey continues deeper into the jungle towards your destination and your limbs get heavier and heavier. Did Jester paint you some lead shoes and replace yours while you were asleep? Did she do your clothes too? Because your whole body feels so heavy.
You bump into Caleb’s side. A hand finds its way to the small of your back and the warmth returns. You didn’t realise you’re feeling so cold, freezing almost so you allow yourself to lean just a bit more into Caleb’s side to bask in the warmth provided by your flaming hot wizard.
“You don’t happen to be able to make someone do the floaty glide thingy Essek can do, can’t you?” Caleb is confused by your sudden question and the unfiltered sentencing. You usually formulate your words more carefully than this but it seems as if the word ‘gravity’ has escaped your vocabulary. Caleb blames it on exhaustion seeing your somewhat unfocused state and feeling the weight of your body leaning on him for support. You’ve been walking for hours, running for a few and fought a giant lizard of a forgotten era after all. You have every right to be tired and he'll support you in any way he can.
“Ah, I’m afraid not. But, we will be setting down for the night once we reach a clear spot.” Didn’t you catch that conversation? You were there for it providing nods and noises of agreement while keeping an eye out for anything approaching. This is a bit odd for you so Caleb decides to keep an eye on you.
You hear birds chirping around you, their song drowning out Caleb’s words but not voice as he talks to you but the song is just too beautiful, it brings a smile to your face. Looking around you can see them sometimes. Colourful feathers popping against the green and the muted flashes of a sun lowering. If the sun’s going to sleep, you want to go soon too. It’s not really fair if you have to keep walking when it gets to lie down.
The colours and patterns through the leaves are very pretty though and the rays bleeding through are to die for. The world should look like this forever. It’s so beautiful, pulsing with every breath you take. No, you’re breathing with the nature around you. You get a newfound respect for Caduceus and Fjord’s Wildmom. She’s pretty cool if she’s responsible for all this. Is she responsible for all this? She gets your credit anyway.
You’re pulled to a sudden stop, or at least it feels sudden. Caleb is suddenly in front of you pulling your focus towards him and away from the chirping birds and the setting sun and the Wildmom. You’d ask Caleb to leave you alone but his gentle smile alone and warm hands on your shoulders pushing you down to sit on a tree stump call for your undivided attention in turn pulling it away from the gently blowing breeze and kaleidoscope of colours.
“You’re exhausted. Sit down and rest while we set up.” Caleb suggests and you find yourself nodding the words not entirely registering. Warm fingers press against your cheek before they pull away all too soon. The warmth leaves your body as Caleb leaves your side and the freezing cold returns. You wrap your coat tighter around yourself in an effort to preserve the heat but nothing seems to work.
You try to focus on your surroundings to distract from the icy cold, the humid jungle temperatures doing nothing to keep you warm. The crickets provide a beautiful symphony with the rustling leaves, the last of the song birds going to sleep and the awakening of the nocturnal creatures. It helps and you find yourself swaying lightly from side to side with the melody. It brings you a sense of happiness and content as well as a connection to everything around you.
You feel yourself beginning to drift when something warm and soft and a little heavy is draped across your shoulders. The warmth is similar to Caleb but not entirely the same, though you’re met with an intense smell of molasses, old books and whatever remains after a fire has turned to embers. Your eyes fall upon the dark purple material of Caleb’s coat; most of all the geometric patterns of the lining. They are enchanting and you feel like you could get lost in them.
“You’re shivering. Come. We’re all set up.” You once again allow Caleb to guide you back to your feet and pull you along to where the Nein had set up. Sitting down with you Caleb takes out his spellbook and a small crystal bead. You've always loved watching Caleb cast spells, something alluring to the practiced words and patterns. He begins to weave his hands through the air in front of him, the light sparks of magic following his fingertips as he speaks the words, what you didn’t expect to see is the trails left by the motions. You’ve never seen those before. That’s new. They’re very pretty though; a warm orange trail of embers just like him. Enamoured you stare, making no effort to hide or avert your gaze. You catch Caleb's eyes and he offers you a half smile which you dopily return continuing to watch the patterns.
You’re rudely pulled out of your trance by Caduceus offering you a bowl of food. Usually you would have jumped at the promise of food, the firbolg’s cooking is unrivalled but now the nausea comes back and your stomach twists at the smell alone. You turn to the side fighting the urge vomit and as politely as possible and decline the delicious food much to your dismay.
Caleb does accept the food he’s offered as Veth happily accepts your serving as seconds. Caleb sniffs the food expecting it to smell off somehow because of your reaction but it doesn’t. It’s as perfect as ever and you’re not one to refuse food when offered. As he begins eating you excuse yourself finding a spot where you don’t have to look at your friends consuming their food both, because of the strong smell and the look of it. While delicious the thought of the texture sends your brain in overdrive where you get an overwhelming phantom taste which only intensifies the nausea.
Finding a spot still within the dome but far enough to be comfortable you just watch the geometric patterns in the lining of Caleb’s coat. Not only do you focus on the patterns but you’re pretty sure you can count the individual threats of the fabric. The colours and contrast intense pull you in almost pervasively so.
A hand shakes your shoulder turning you to face them. It’s Caleb and he looks rather worried. The expression alone carries over to you. What’s he worried about? It’s not bad is it? Is it because of you? Oh, no maybe it is you… You’re set into a train of emotions and anxiety and when Caleb notices his expression softens but the worry does not leave.
“Hey, hey. I need you to breathe, okay? Just keep breathing.” You follow his instructions taking deep breathes and the anxiety mutes replaced by a hyper fixation on Caleb. Literally, everything around the wizard fades into the distance when he steps into your vision but you manage to force yourself to be aware of your surroundings with a lot of effort.
“Very good. Now, you want to tell me what’s going on?” From over Caleb’s shoulder you see Veth stuff her mouth with the food you refused and that alone is enough to make you gag. Caleb notices and shifts to break your line of sight. Oh no, you can smell it again. You cover your mouth and nose and lean forward letting your forehead fall against his clavicle taking deep breaths of the comfy molasses, old pages and smouldering fire scent.
“I don’t know but one more sniff of food and I’ll vomit so please take mercy on me and save me from the savoury deliciousness until this nausea passes.” Caleb wraps his arms around you, one hand rubbing circles into your back while the other lightly plays with the hairs on the back of your neck to alleviate your suffering. Of course he’s trying to piece together what’s happened because you’re behaviour added up is not entirely like you. Right now his priority is making sure you're comfortable.
He keeps this going as one by one the Nein goes to sleep, Caleb and by default you taking the first watch. You don’t yet feel comfortable removing yourself from Caleb’s arms but do find a more comfortable position for the both of you to spare you the numbness of limbs.
The longer you sit around your mind starts to feel less hazy, the hyper focus lessens and your stomach calls for sustenance, the nausea fading. Luckily Caduceus had saved you some leftovers which you happily nibble on. The spices and herbs providing extra flavours are intense but no longer unwelcome or nauseating. Regardless of what caused this all, you didn’t think Caduceus’ food could taste any better but damn does it taste beyond divine. You’ve rediscovered your appetite and finish the leftovers.
While sitting in Caleb’s embrace, head on his stomach holding the book you’re both reading Caleb’s coat long since returned to him you’re feeling mentally exhausted, but your mind is at ease, as if all stress and pressure of the world around you has faded for just a moment. You’re at peace in the arms of the man you love and surrounded by your friends.
The realisation that despite all the bad you’ve gone through together it’s all been worth it a thousand times over and you wouldn’t change a thing. A yawn escapes as you turn the page, knowing Caleb will have read it several times at this point.
“Tired?”
“Exhausted.”
“You’d think with all the breaks and rest you’ve already gotten today you’d have trouble sleeping again.” Caleb recalls the times where you’ve taken breaks before and spent half of the night up getting rid of the energy just to get a moment of sleep in the more stressful days where sleep does not come easily; days like the past few have been.
“I would have but none of those times did I actually catch a break. I was nauseas for hours, everything felt and looked intense, could only focus on one thing at the time visually even though for some reason I was hyper aware of my senses.” You turn the page again as Caleb pulls you a little closer, about to press a kiss to your shoulder. He stops, retreats and instead brushes his fingers over it.
“Maybe I was just on an exhaustion or anxiety high running on my last bit of energy and now we get a moment to relax and breathe, that’s what gotten me back to earth.” Caleb doesn’t respond and when you look up at him from over your shoulder you see Caleb closely inspecting the fingers he brushed over your shoulder.
“You know, I’m beginning doubt this change of mood was induced by exhaustion.” He runs his fingers together and you see the light dust pulverise. Confused you signal for Caleb to elaborate on his train of thought because you’re still feeling a little slow.
“Remember the tumble you took into the patch of flowers and mushrooms?”
“You mean when I got my ask kicked by an oversized lizard? Yeah, hard to forget.” You grasp at your ribs as if to relief a still lasting ache from the hit of the creature’s tail. You turn around, putting the book down and sit on your knees between Caleb’s legs as things begin to fall into place for the both of you. Your landing... Oh no...
“I don’t think that dust cloud upon impact was just dust or pollen.” You throw your head back and groan. Unbelievable. Through the lasting peace and calm you feel the embarrassment peak through as well as annoyance at the whole situation.
“So you’re telling me I’ve been tripping balls for the past six or so hours?”
“That is exactly what I’m saying.” Caleb states deadpanned before he breaks and laughs at you. You deserve it really. Stubbornness to admit something’s wrong is what got you so far. Should have told someone you weren’t feeling right and it definitely wasn’t exhaustion but no and it was already too late when the ‘beauty of the world’ took hold of your mind.
“Well then, take comfort that it’s not just the spores leave me completely enamoured with you.” You peck Caleb’s nose and poke his stomach to get him to quit laughing before he wakes up the others. You won’t hear the end of this that’s for damn sure so best to keep this incident between the two of you. Let the other’s believe you’re just over-exhausted.

Chapter 2: Legends Never Die
Read on Ao3
-
Billy was watching porn when Steve texted.
He’s never clicked out of a video so fucking fast in his life.
The message just read hey, this is steve :) which like, of course, the fucker uses little emoticons. Of course , he types out little smiley faces. It’s so dumb. It’s so cute.
And Billy just stared at it. One hand still on his dick, the other hovering over the keyboard.
What the fuck does he reply?
Obviously, Steve knows it’s Billy. Like. Duh.
So he just tapped out a little Hey.
Steve texted back almost immediately.
you have a good day? Billy found himself grinning maniacally, so he rolled over to hold his pillow close to his chest, burying his chin into it. He didn’t wanna deal with the fact that this stupid adorable cowboy was making him smile and flush. Stupid.
Yeah, it was nice. Way too hot, but nice.
lol try wearing jeans in that heat. sweatin through my damn saddle. Billy laughed into his pillow.
Jesus, you’re such a fuckin hick. Billy bit his tongue when he pressed send.
And Steve just sent back >:(. And God. He’s so cute. Billy. Hates him.
And then Billy’s phone buzzed twice, another brand new text from Steve.
One that made Billy’s heart fucking stop.
i have the day off tomorrow. no tiedown on the schedule. you should come by and we could hang
Which sounded like. A date. It sounded like a fucking date. And Billy wanted to ask. If Steve’s invitation was for a goddamn date.
But like, he can’t just ask. Can he? Is that weird? Okay, maybe he’ll just-
Should I bring Max?
Right? Like if Steve says to bring his little sister, then there’s no way it’s a date. Because, who would want their date to bring their little sister? People who are just hanging out as friends, that’s who.
was hoping it'd just be you and me
And hoo boy. Hoo boy. That’s. That’s a fucking. That’s a date.
Then yeah. Just you and me.
And Steve sent him another little :) because the fucker loves his emoticon smiley faces. They’re not even, like, actual emojis. Steve doesn’t take the time to use fucking apostrophes, but he does type out little faces.
And maybe Billy’s spending too much time thinking about the smiley little shits.
But, like. It’s just. It’s Steve. And it’s a cute fucking thing that Steve does.
Billy’s pretty much obsessed with him by now.
And maybe Billy should ask for, like, a time to meet. But he was halfway through a video and his cock’s still hard and kinda starting to ache, pressed against the mattress where it was. He rolled over, slid his hand back into his shorts, and wrapped his fingers around the base of himself.
So it’s easy just to, slide it up. Run his fingers along his length. Pretend his rough hand is Steve’s rough hand. Pretend the tight vice grip is Steve’s mouth. Hot and slick around him.
He could picture Steve, on his knees in the dirt, those tight fucking jeans beginning to stain at the knees, those big pretty eyes looking at him so reverently, so softly.
And he came all over his hand, pictured those pink pretty lips covered with cum. Imagined scooping it on his fingers, pressing them into Steve’s mouth, making him lick them clean.
It wasn’t even the most depraved fantasy Billy’s ever had. But it was for sure in his top five best orgasms. No doubt about it.
He wiped his hand on the sheets, turning onto his side, staring at the short little conversation with Steve.
Thinking about their fucking date tomorrow.
Max was on his ass the second he woke up.
She cornered him as he was coming out of the bathroom, making him startle and nearly smack her.
“The fuck you doing out here, Shitbrid?”
“What are we doing today?”
“ We aren’t doing shit all. I will be heading out. Soon.”
She narrowed her eyes at him, jutting her jaw in a way he absolutely knows she learned from him.
“Are you going to the rodeo?” she hissed through her teeth at him. “Are you going to see-”
“That’s none ‘a your fuckin’ business.” He pushed past her, lumbering down the hall, almost making it into his bedroom before she slipped inside with him, slapping his elbow and kicking the door closed.
“Are you going on a date ?”
Billy glared at her. He clenched his jaw, speaking through gritted teeth.
“Pretty sure we agreed not to fucking talk about this shit here.”
She pursed her lips, shifting her jaw.
“Just nod or shake your head.”
Billy kept his head very still.
She kicked him once in the shin before stomping out of his room, nearly slamming the door, catching it at the last minute, and closing it quietly.
Neil didn’t approve of doors slamming in his house.
It was rule number. Three probably. First rule was don’t be a smartass. Second rule was don’t be Billy. That was kind of an unspoken rule. But it was there.
And Billy was faced with his newest dilemma.
What does he wear?
Because it’s gonna be another hot fucking day, and his typical date outfits have more, more.
He’s got one clean pair of cut-offs left. Okay. Yes. And he puts on a printed button-up shirt. Leaves it almost all the way unbuttoned, because, like, of course, he does. He’s got a good body. He wants Steve to see it.
He’ll be mostly cool, and he looks better than he did last time he saw Steve.
Black Converse complete the look, and he maybe spends more time than he usually would putting his hair into a ponytail, using one of Max’s bright scrunchies.
She’ll get pissed if she notices it but. Whatever. He steals them from her all the fucking time.
He hasn’t looked at his phone all morning, figured he could head over to the rodeo, and whenever Steve texted, he’d play it cool and act like he wasn’t already there.
But, cowboy hick Steve was obviously an early riser. As the most recent text Billy has is from that cowboy hick Steve. At six. In the morning.
you wanna meet up around ten?
It was currently just past nine.
Does Billy head up there now and wander around the grounds for a bit?
Yes. Yes, he does. Because frankly, he looks gay as fuck in this outfit and he should probably dip before his dad sees.
He sends Steve a thumbs up and the three dots show up almost immediately, showing Steve typing.
you got a car right? can you pick me up outside of the parking lot? i gotta get outta here
And Fuck. Billy knows that feeling.
No problem. You wanna get breakfast? I know a good diner if you’re into that kinda thing.
hell yeah im into that :)
Ah, yes. There was that little happy face just in time to give Billy lots of nice heart palpitations.
Great. That’s what he needs. To get sappy and gross over Steve’s emoticons. Again.
He slipped out of his house without interference, taking a lap around the block just to kill time before setting off to the fairgrounds.
He was trying to make his car look presentable, shoving the few gum wrappers Max left by the gear shift into his pocket, brushing off any stray cigarette ash with one of the baby wipes in the glove box.
And by the time he reached the fairgrounds, he saw Steve skulking along the front of the parking lot, hopping over cracks in the sidewalk like the cutest little bunny.
It was the most adorable thing in the fucking world.
Billy pulled up next to him, blaring the horn and watching Steve startle at the sound.
He was wearing cut-off denim shorts like Billy’s, and a goddamn crop top. It had the silhouette of a horse on its hind legs, its mane flowing in the wind behind it, and Harrington American Rodeo brandished across his chest. It was cut just at his waistline, where his body nipped in right above his hips.
Steve smiled his pretty smile at Billy, just about skipping around the front of the car to slide into the passenger seat.
And Billy tried not to think about how fucking good Steve looked in the passenger seat of his car, those long fucking legs all on display, his thighs, thick and pale, covered in dark hair.
“Hi,” Steve was leaning with one elbow on the center console, putting himself in Billy’s space, and Billy was thankful for his dark aviator sunglasses, as his eyes went wide and probably panicked with Steve moving in so close.
Because if Steve was leaning in to kiss him, that kinda feels like a lot. And Billy’s not a prude, not by any means but he's, he’s got lines, and rules, and-
Steve just knocked his head into Billy’s shoulder, leaning back to buckle his seatbelt, like headbutting Billy’s shoulder was casual and normal.
And fuck.
Billy’s in so deep for this guy he barely fucking knows.
All he could do was push the car forward, and will away the flush on his cheeks. And pretend like he hadn’t jerked off to the person sitting next to him less than twelve hours ago.
“So. Billy. Tell me about yourself.” Steve shifted in his seat, turning to look right at Billy. “All I know is that you’ve got a kid sister, a cool car, and that you’re really hot.”
Billy smirked, turning to look at Steve over his glasses, found Steve biting his bottom lip demurely.
“Well, there’s not much else to know .”
“Oh, come on. Where are you from? How old are you? Shit, probably shoulda asked that sooner. Please, tell me you’re not fifteen or something.”
“I’m literally driving, right now. And relax, Pretty Boy. I’m eighteen next month.”
“Okay. Okay, good. I’m eighteen, by the way. Just so you know, that I’m not fifteen.” Billy shook his head, rolling his eyes with a smile. “But I still want answers to the other questions.”
“Well, I’m from here. Born and raised in San Diego. Uh, I graduated high school in May. And I work at the diner I’m about to take you to, which might be the lamest shit in the world, but they have good pancakes.”
“I like pancakes.” Steve was fiddling with some of the knobs in the car, turning the air conditioner up and down. Billy was just resisting slapping his hand away.
And then he reached for the volume knob on the radio, turning up the Ratt Billy had playing, and audibly scoffed.
“God, I should’ve known you liked this .”
“Yeah? What about it?”
“Just, you know. Sex charged drug-fueled hair metal.”
“Oh my God. What in the fuck ?” He gave Steve as incredulous a look as he could muster. “Are you a housewife from the fifties?”
Steve gave one of his excellent bright laughs at Billy, and Billy’s gut got a little bit gay and a little bit fluttery.
“Alright, Stevie. I’ll bite. What kinda music are you into? And if you say country I’m blowing my fuckin’ brains out.”
“Well, unfortunate then because, yeah. Fuckin’ country, man. Although, I prefer folk.”
“See, you call my music sex-charged and drug-fueled, at least I’m not listening to posers rant about their tractors.”
“Oh, no. I hate that shit as much as you do. I mean like, Johnny Cash. Willie Nelson, you know? Emmylou Harris, Marty Robbins, Miss Dolly. The good stuff. There’s like, a few modern artists that are doing the same kinda thing that I like. It’s all just stories and good music.”
“That’s all my music is. Stories set to music. And, you say my shit is drug-fueled, you do know that Willie Nelson is famous for being a stoner? And that Johnny Cash publicly dealt with addiction and all that?”
“Well, yeah, but they’ve got class.”
“Okay, Cowboy. I’ll let you die on that fuckin’ hill while I party it up on mine to some eighties metal.”
And Steve reached out to shove Billy lightly, laughing while he did it.
“Agree to fucking disagree then. Just take me to pancakes and don’t try to reason with me about shitty music.”
“Then change the subject. Tell me other things about you besides your terrible music taste.”
Steve leaned back in his seat, blowing out a puff of air.
“Uh, I mean. Jeez. I don’t do much besides the rodeo, you know? Just movin’ all over the country.”
“That must be. Exhausting.”
Steve reached out to brush his fingers against the dashboard mindlessly.
“It’s not so bad. I try to make friends in the towns, you know? Makes it kinda fun.”
“Where were you born?”
“Indiana. Really small town. My mom and I stayed there for three years while my father traveled around. I’ve been on the road since.”
“Holy shit. Since you were three? Did you, like, go to school?”
“No. Uh, I actually have a tutor that’s on the road with us, and I’m. You know. Supposed to get my high school diploma soon. I’m behind schedule since,” he waved his hand flippantly. He was staring at his lap, playing with the frayed hem of his shorts. And Billy was grasping for another subject as Steve’s cheeks went red. Because obviously school, had struck a nerve.
“What kinda horse is June?”
“She’s an American quarter horse. That’s the usual type for most rodeo events. They’re good ranch horses because they’re a little more compact. I’ve been with June for five years now, and she’s a beast. I’ve got two others with me, on rotation so that none of them get too tired doing the shows over and over. June, Patsy, and Loretta. They’re all quarter horses, and each one is only about fourteen and a half hands tall. I like my horses a bit smaller for tie-down.”
“I understood, honestly, like, nothing of what you just said.”
Steve tossed his head back, laughing loudly over the radio at Billy’s confusion.
He laughed a lot.
Billy liked it.
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you rodeo slang. You’ll be a natural,” Steve said, reaching out to where Billy’s right hand was resting on the gearshift, wrapping his finger’s around Billy’s wrist.
“What about their names?”
“All ladies of country. Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and June Carter. Carter-Cash, I guess. She married Johnny but had a career in her own right.”
“Jesus, you’re a fuckin’ hick.”
“You’ve said that before. Just because I’m in the rodeo-”
“No, it’s because you’re in the rodeo, and listen to country music, and wear fucking cowboy boots -”
“They are literally made for riding horses, okay? That’s why they were invented .”
Billy rolled his eyes again, but he was smiling brightly as he pulled into the diner parking lot.
It wasn’t too busy for a Sunday morning. Billy bets it’ll pick up in an hour or so for the brunch crowd.
He began working at the diner three years ago, bussing tables and washing dishes, getting paid under the table because technically, he was too young to work. He was a server now, usually taking the evening dinner shifts to miss that time when his dad was home from work.
The bell jingled above their heads as Billy held the door open for Steve, and Billy stuck his tongue out at the kitchen staff, leaning over the counter to swipe a few menus from the stack.
He led Steve to a booth in the back corner, waving at Lorraine, the older woman who was working their section, gesturing to the booth for Steve to take a seat.
“Wow. You’ve totally got this place on lock.”
Billy grinned at him, leaning against the wall to stretch his legs up on the booth next to him.
“I’ve worked here a few years. Kinda done all the staff positions. It’s a nice place.”
“Well, then what do you recommend?” Steve carefully opened the laminated menu, his big eyes flicking over the pictures on the side of every dish.
“Pancakes are good, so are the waffles though, if you’re into that. I like the full breakfast. Eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns, pancakes, or toast. Kinda the best of everything.”
Steve snapped his menu shut, smiling softly at Billy.
“I’m trusting you with my breakfast here. It better be good .”
Lorraine approached their table, already pouring Billy a cup of coffee and sliding it to him along the table.
“You really love us that much you find your way in here on your day off?”
“Only you, Lorraine. Everybody else can fuck off for all I care.”
She shook her head, rolling her eyes at Billy.
“You want the usual cook-up?”
“Yes, please.”
She took his unopened menu, turning and smiling brightly at Steve.
“What can I get for you, Darling.”
Steve’s eyes were wide when he looked up at her, his cheeks starting to flush.
“Uh, just, the same as Billy, please.”
“You want a coffee?”
“No, Ma’am. Just a water for me please.” He handed his menu back, giving her a bright smile, his cheeks a soft rosy red.
Lorraine winked at Billy, nodding her head once in Steve’s general direction. Billy waved her off before she could say something embarrassing.
“Sorry, I get kinda weird sometimes.” Steve had pulled a napkin out of the dispenser on their table and was looking down at it, tearing off little chunks and rolling them into balls.
“That’s okay. Lorraine gets it. Plus, you were polite, and that’s all that matters. I wouldn’t be caught dead with you if you were an ass to servers.”
“Oh, God. My dad is such an ass when it comes to, really any staff. Like, servers, or, frankly, most of the people that work for him. Don’t even get me started on the animal carers. I mean, that’s probably the most important job at the whole rodeo, and he’s been trying to dock pay left, right, and fucking center.” Steve rolled his big eyes, huffing like Max.
“Wait, so your dad is like, the head of the whole operation?”
“My name is Steve Harrington,” and Steve pointed at his shirt, the name Harrington emblazoned over the horse.
“Oh damn. I thought that name was familiar when I saw the shirt. Figured I had just seen the rodeo name or something.”
“Nope. That’s me. A whole Harrington. My great-grandpa started the rodeo. He was, like, an actual ranch hand. Started one in the town we’re from. My grandpa was the one who got the idea to take it on the road. My dad came up through it like I did. He was in steer roping. And basically, his end goal is that I start running the whole show in a few years. Take over for him.”
“And, you don’t want to?”
“Nah. I don’t really have a brain for business. Don’t have a brain for much other than riding and tie-down, honestly. Don’t know the first thing about how to run a traveling rodeo.”
“Yeah, me neither.”
Steve smiled at him, but his eyes seemed sad, and his smile was tight.
“You got plans for next year? College or anything?”
“Nah. I think college is, on the horizon, but I’m taking a gap year. Saving up to move out and pay for school and everything. Probably gonna go to community college to save some money. And then maybe grad school?”
“That’s smart, you know? Finding ways to save up. My dad is debating pushing college on me. Like, if I do run the business, there’s some shit I should know going into it, right? But I think he also sees that I’m way too dumb for college, and, like, I don’t need a degree to get hired. I’ll just,” Steve made an upwards sweeping gesture with his right hand. A gesture that Billy understood to vaguely mean nepotism.
“What would you rather do? If not run the thing.”
“I like tie-down, and I could feasibly do it for a long time. I could branch into other events, too, like steer roping and all that. Same idea as calf roping but a different animal. Literally. It’s a steer. But I’d be content just doing the events until I croak. I have absolutely no desire to rise through the ranks, or whatever.” Steve rolled his eyes, balling up the little napkin wads he had made into another napkin from the dispenser. Billy appreciated it. He’s had to clean up crap like that from this very floor. “I just love being around the rodeo. The animals and all the people. I don’t really wanna be anywhere else.”
“At least you have something you love. Like, you’d be happy to do that for the rest of your life, and not in an I’ve got nothing better to do way, but in an, I’m passionate about this way. A lot of people don’t really. Get that.” Billy included.
It’s not that he doesn’t have passions, it’s just that they’re not necessarily sustainable to him.
He knows he’s dangling by a thread with his father. Knows after his eighteenth birthday, he should be ready to be kicked out or asked to pay rent at any time. He needs a career that’ll get him some fucking money if he wants to get out and cut off his dad entirely. He can’t be forced to go crawling back to him because he wanted to self-publish his gay ass poetry that never took off or drum in a rock band that went nowhere.
To name a few.
“Yeah, I mean. Sometimes I think that I probably would’ve never set foot in a rodeo if I wasn’t literally born into one, so I kinda wonder who I’d be if this wasn’t everything I knew, but I still really love doing it, and it’s something that I’m actually good at, which speaks volumes.”
They were interrupted by Lorraine returning, placing two identical plates in front of them, a glass of water for Steve, and pulling hot sauce and ketchup out of her apron pocket.
“You two let me know if you need anything else.”
Steve beamed at her, thanking her softly and Billy’s heart fluttered like a stupid idiot.
They tucked in, Steve shoving food into his mouth until his cheeks were bulging, chewing aggressively. It made Billy laugh and nearly spew coffee all over the table.
“I figured you’d have better manners, being the heir to a rodeo dynasty or whatever.”
Steve pulled a face, showing Billy the chewed-up food in his mouth.
“How’s that for manners?”
It was actually fucking funny watching him try to swallow everything stuffed in his mouth.
“It’s borderline painful watching you eat.”
Billy laughed as Steve flicked a piece of scrambled egg at him. It landed on his shoulder. Billy slurped it right off his shirt.
“See! Now, who's the one with no table manners?”
“Still you, Sugar. Still you.”
Breakfast was, like, actually fun.
Not that Billy was expecting it to be shitty, but he wasn’t expecting it to be as carefree, as easy, as it was. He and Steve just, kinda, clicked.
Steve was easy to talk to. He was easy to listen to, easy to laugh with, and even easier to look at.
He’s kinda, everything Billy has ever wanted in a person.
He slid his hand into Billy’s as they were leaving the diner, smiling shyly at Billy when he looked over at him.
And Billy stopped in his tracks, right there in broad daylight, tugging Steve by his hand closer to Billy’s body, sliding his hands up his arms, feeling over Steve’s shoulders, and down his back to settle on his hips. Steve wrapped both arms around Billy’s shoulders, leaning closer to him, almost pressing his whole body against Billy’s.
And it was easy. Kissing Steve was just as easy as talking to him, as laughing with him, as looking at him. It was simple and nice and made Billy feel something he really didn’t want to put too much thought into.
Something that was decidedly not easy.
They pulled away from one another, both their lips red and slick.
Billy opened the passenger door, and Steve folded himself into the seat with a ridiculous amount of grace.
And as Billy drove them aimlessly through the city, he tried not to think of the expiration date on this whole thing, on the dates listed on the back of Steve’s t-shirt.
They’ve got a little under a month together.
And Billy was determined to make that the best goddamn month of both of their natural lives.

Part 7: Shifter!Jaskier Verse (Tumblr) - Can be read as a stand alone.
_________
The cloud of sparkling dust settled on the floor and Geralt was nowhere to be seen. The last Jaskier had seen of his boyfriend, he’d been thrown against the wall, barely able to move his fingers to form Quen in time before his head knocked against the stone. There was no witcher in the room now. Just a pile of bloodstained white fur in the corner of the room.
Jaskier snarled and sniffed the air. He could smell Geralt but something was wrong. Geralt reeked of wet dog. Jaskier growled, low and menacing, at the sorcerer in front of them. The man had been luring children away from their homes in the dead of night using all sorts of sweet treats. Then at night he was pulling their dreams from their minds and using them for fuck knows what. The children were returning to their homes as lifeless ghosts of their former selves, and thus a witcher and his trusted companion had been hired.
“I’m no fool, bard.” The sorcerer spat. “I can sense your magic.
Jaskier let his sharp teeth show as he snarled again. He let his magic loose and there was a sickening crunch of bones. Jaskier’s thick russet fur melted away into long red feathers. He spread his wings as a thick black mane grew along he neck. He roared at the sorcerer and struck both talons across his chest, balancing on the large lion paws of his hind legs. The sorcerer was thrown backwards as dark blood seeped through his clothing. The attack had caught him off guard. Jaskier stalked forward, his front talons clacking on the wooden floor. This human had stolen Jaskier’s mate and they had to pay.
The scent of blood was thick in the air and all he knew was the hunt.
The prey was wounded. It was an easy kill.
He screeched as he prepared to land the final blow but a large snowy white wolf with glowing amber eyes suddenly stood between him and the prey.
Amber eyes.
Jaskier knew those eyes.
Geralt.
He let his magic loose and shifted back into a wolf. There was just something about Geralt being in wolf form that ignited all his pack instincts. He didn’t know whether Geralt was stuck as a wolf or could shift between animals, but Jaskier knew he would match Geralt no matter what.
The thought gave him pause. He wondered whether it was an instinct of his people, lost and long forgotten. Were there ever groups of shifters? Were they still alive? Or was he alone… He’d always felt so alone. Jaskier nudged his head under Geralt’s snout and whined. Geralt huffed and butted Jaskier’s head. Jaskier did his best wolfy grin and then mouthed at Geralt’s nose before rolling over onto his back with a wag of his tail.
Geralt gave a quick bark and then looked pointedly between Jaskier and mage. Jaskier tilted his head, wondering how Geralt still managed to look unimpressed even as a wolf. Jaskier snorted and rolled back onto his paws. He glanced around the room, his clothes were still at the inn. Geralt’s clothes appeared to have disappeared when he was changed into a wolf; lucky bastard. He spotted a long cloak hanging up on the wall and wagged his tail. He leapt up on his hind legs and pulled at the cloak with his teeth. When he was covered nicely by the heavy material he shifted back into his human form with a crack of his bones.
The cloak was thick, grey and woollen. It had a large hood, reminiscent of the cloaks the elves used. He wrapped it round his shoulders and then grinned at Geralt.
“Hello, dearest. I know you’re the White Wolf and all, but isn’t this taking it a bit too far?” He reached out with his hand and Geralt bumped it with his snout. He gave Geralt a quick scratch behind the ears. “Can you shift?”
Geralt tilted his head.
Jaskier frowned and stuck his tongue out as he tried to figure out a way to explain it. It was like trying to explain how to blink or breathe or… just exist. “Umm, ah, think of Roach? Try and feel her hooves, her mane?”
Geralt’s snout scrunch up and he let out a snarl.
“No?”
Geralt shook his head, one ear twitched and Jaskier couldn’t help but coo. Geralt growled at that.
“I’m sorry!” He said, not really sorry at all. “But, my love, you look so cute!”
Another growl.
“Oh stop it. You’re trying to be all scary witcher and it’s not working. You are adorable and I can turn into a dragon so shush.” He bopped Geralt on the nose and gave him another scratch behind the ears. Geralt’s tail began to wag. Geralt looked behind him and snarled, clearly not enjoying the way his body was betraying his feelings. He also looked as if he was about to start chasing his tail. He was baring his teeth, snarling as the tail flicked on the stone floor. Jaskier took pity on him and knelt down so he could cup his wolf’s face in his hands. “Geralt, darling?”
Geralt blinked and looked up at him.
“There you go. The instincts might feel a bit strong at first but we’ll work it out alright?” Jaskier buried in face in Geralt’s fur, his own instincts to shift back into a wolf were almost overwhelming him, but Geralt needed him human. It was easier to explain things to his newly wolf companion when he could use words. It was also nice to be able to snuggle in Geralt’s fur for a change.  “Do you know how to fix this?”
Geralt shook his head.
“I shouldn’t have killed the mage, should I?” Jaskier asked with a sigh.
Another head shake and a whine.
Jaskier kissed Geralt’s head. “In my defence, witcher. I thought he’d killed you!” Geralt licked his face and he grimaced. “Geralt! Oh gods, that went up my nose!”
Geralt wagged his tail and pounced. Jaskier was knocked back onto the ground and Geralt’s tongue was drooling all over his face, which would have been fine if Geralt’s tongue didn’t feel so coarse against his skin. “Oi, no! Get off you big lump!”
Geralt nipped at his ear and sat back down, his tail thumped noisily against the stone floor.
Jaskier sighed and grabbed Geralt’s swords from where they’d clattered on the floor. Jaskier hummed. Geralt’s clothes and medallion had changed with him but his swords had not. At least his magic was consistent. Geralt head-butted his leg and they finally fled the tower together. It felt strange being the one on two feet instead of four but they’d faced worse things in their two years travelling together.
Two years…
Had it really been so long? He’d been with Geralt for two whole years… not mentioning the little blip of his mother’s horrendous return into his life. He shuddered at the memory. Yeah, they’d definitely been through worse together. ___________
As they approached the town Geralt snorted and laid down on the ground, resting his head on his big white paws. Jaskier glanced over his shoulder at the wolf with a scowl before he realised why Geralt had stopped. He grinned and walked back to pet Geralt’s head. Geralt’s tail thumped heavily against the ground as Jaskier gave him a scratch behind the ear. Geralt still looked put out by his tail’s reaction to affection but now seemed resigned to the fact he could no longer mask his happier feelings.
“Well isn’t this a turn of events. I’m normally the one that has to wait outside!” Jaskier announced with a laugh.
Geralt let out a low growl and mouthed at Jaskier’s fingers.
“Ouch! Sharp teeth, Geralt. You’re not exactly a pup, dear heart,” Jaskier chided.
Geralt’s ears flicked and Jaskier was pretty sure the strange snuffling noise was Geralt trying to laugh at him.
“Stay here. I’ll go and get our stuff,” he sighed and looked down at himself. The cloak wasn’t exactly modest and whilst he had very little shame over his body, most humans wouldn’t appreciate him walking around town with his dick out. “Next time we are keeping my clothes in a pack and not back at the inn.”
Geralt barked and his tongue hung out of his mouth as he wagged his tail.
“Yeah yeah, go on, laugh at your poor suffering boyfriend.”
Geralt barked again and jumped up to lick Jaskier’s face, placing both paws on Jaskier’s shoulders. Jaskier just ruffled Geralt’s fur and kissed his snout.
“I’ll be back soon, love.”
He wrapped the cloak around him in a feeble attempt to cover himself up and trudged back to the inn. He did get some bizarre looks from the villagers but he did his best to ignore them. Had they never seen a bard wearing just a cloak and witcher’s swords before? He scoffed. They were amateurs. He tried to sneak up to their room at the inn but the bloody innkeeper spotted him.
“Oi, where do you think you’re going?”
Jaskier spun around, only just remembering to keep his hands gripped on the cloak to stop it from flying open. He still had Geralt’s swords in their holder in his hand and he held them up for the innkeeper to see. “I’m a friend of the witcher’s. Jaskier? The bard? You might have heard of me?”
“Toss a Coin?” The innkeeper asked and Jaskier let out a sigh of relief.
“Ah, yes. That’s the one,” He sang a couple of lines just to prove his point. “And umm, well. Geralt… Geralt was looking after my lute for me whilst I was… away?”
“Away?”
“Yeah,” Jaskier winced. It was a terrible story and he was ashamed. “But you see, I really need to get it back.”
“Did the witcher take your clothes too?” The innkeeper asked with a smirk, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Jaskier felt his cheeks heat up and it took all his control not to shift back into a mouse. He laughed nervously and tugged the cloak tighter around his chest. “Well, funny you should say that.”
“Those his swords?”
“Yes! Yes they are. I ran into him on the path just outside of town. He’s dealt with your mage problem, but ah. Umm. Spells! He was hit by a spell and it’s really not very pretty so he asked me to collect our… his.. belongings. So I’m just…” He pointed to the stairs and the innkeeper waved his hand. “Thank you ever so much, kind sir. May all the gods praise you!”
“Just go, bard.”
Jaskier gave a quick bow and then flew up the stairs, two steps at at time. Once inside the room he got dressed and quickly gathered up their belongings before heading back out to fetch Roach. The conversation with the stable girl went just as well as the one with the innkeeper and Jaskier barely remembered the story he’d woven only a few minutes before, but he was gone and heading back towards the forest before anyone else could question him.
He didn’t ride Roach but it was easier with her carrying the bags and his lute. Once he was out of sight from the townsfolk he considered shifting back into a wolf. Whatever the mage had hit Geralt with was driving him crazy, but they still needed to find a solution to Geralt’s wolf problem so regretfully he remained on two feet. He huffed and dragged his feet as they headed back to where he’d left Geralt. How did people cope with being in one form all the time? It was so boring!

More monster boys for the week. Today we got some cute Wolfie Remus and Roman being a dick. Patton is adorable and perfect like always tho love him <3
Warnings: probably none but tell me if you want anything or I missed something
_________
Remus sniffed around, holding the pouch tied to his neck of wax and flowers to his nose. Janus had given him scraps of what he needed to get and the last three towns Remus had traveled to had run out of the flowers. Remus already bought the white candle, those are always in stock and everywhere.
He stepped out into the street, stalking his way down the sidewalk, ignoring the stares he got. It wasn’t that uncommon for a werewolf to stay in their wolf form in front of humans, but it still caused stares. It probably caused even more stares considering Remus wasn’t wearing any wolfie clothes. He didn’t like the spandex. It caught on his fur too much.
“Gotta be around here somewhere…” Remus muttered, looking through shop windows as he passed and sniffing at the bottom of the doors to see if the flowers were in there. One of those doors opened suddenly, hitting him right on the head. Remus scrambled out of the way, standing on his hind legs to avoid get hit again. He grins at the people leaving the store giving him looks and gestures broadly at the sidewalk. “After you.”
His tail thumped against his leg, wagging it as a substitute for a laugh. Laughing in wolf form often frightened humans. Any growl to them was a vicious growl. Remus grabbed the door before it could close, ducking his head inside to get a better whiff of anything. He barely got to look around before a purse swatted at his nose and they pulled back outside again, holding their snout.
The woman that hit him slammed shut the door and locked it, giving Remus the dirtiest look. Remus rolled his eyes and dropped back down to all fours. Didn’t matter. He didn’t smell anything in there anyways.
They continued his search, sniffing at the ground and nudging his way through people on the street. He could still smell it somewhere. It wasn’t his petals that he was getting tricked with, there was a trace of it around.
Remus stopped hard. He raised his head high and ears pushed up in attentiveness. He knew that smell.
His tail swished through the air as he trotted across the street, barely dodging a car from nicking him. The person honked at him, but they weren’t paying them any mind. He ducked in between two buildings and continued sniffing the air. They were getting closer. His claws clacked against the pavement as he followed the scent.
Then he caught sight of the source. His tail was wagging so fast it was causing him to squirm, shifting excitedly on his paws. He threw his head up and let out a short howl.
Roman stopped in his tracks, stopping the two walking with him too. Remus could see how red the tips of his ears got from here.
He looked across the street and his face grew just as red, burning his cheeks. Remus whined and quickly made his way over.
“Hey Romy!” they barked happily, running up to their brother. Roman took a couple steps back. His ears were back and his shoulders tense, but Remus knew Roman liked to be a dick sometimes so he wasn't that worried about him snapping. And Roman would never try wolfing out and bring any unwanted attention towards himself. He completely ignored the people with his brother. “How have you been? Also, do you know where I can find Henbane? Actually wait—” Remus moved closer towards the short and stocky person next to his brother, sniffing at him generally.
“Hey!”
Roman swatted at their nose, pushing Remus back. Remus blinked, staring at the person he was sniffing. He was staring back with wide, but interested eyes, probably confused why a wolf would sniff him.
“You can’t just—” Roman bit back his scolding, looking over at his friends. He swatted at Remus again and led him away from the humans. He growled under his breath at him. “You can’t just howl and sniff strangers, Remus. What is wrong with you?!”
“I was excited to see you, man,” he said. His ears were lowered now, knowing he was in trouble with Roman. His tail stopped wagging and was held straight out. “Plus, I got a job now and she said to get Henbane and that guy—” they nudged their head towards the person he was sniffing. “—smelled a lot like Henbane. And a bunch of other stuff. Does he have any that I can take?”
“No, you can’t have any. Can you just…” Roman clenched his jaw and glanced back at them. He leaned over Remus, growling low. Even though Remus was at the same height as him while on all fours, Remus still ducked his head and pressed his ears back at Roman’s anger. “Just get out of here. And change into your normal self, please, you’re freaking people out.”
“I’m normally like this when I’m shopping,” Roman scoffed. Remus’ lip twitched. “Can’t you just tell me where I can get some Henbane? I need the money and also she’s kinda my landlord too on top of that so if I don't get the stuff they want I won't have a place to crash—”
“I don’t care. Find it yourself. Away from me.”
“But the only sniff of it I found was with that guy!”
“I don’t care—”
“Uh,” both the twins’ ears perked up and Remus tilted his head to look behind Roman at the same person from before. He smiled at him nervously and waved. “Sorry to interrupt, but I know a place where you can get some? It’s just a few blocks down west. Do you want the name of it?”
Remus’ tail started wagging again and he pushed past his brother over to the guy. Roman followed him and shoved him in his side so that the human and him were a comfortable distant away. “That would be helpful, yeah! You’re even nicer than you look, little thing.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” the other guy— the skinnier, but taller one that hasn’t said a word or moved this entire time— said protectively. Remus tilted his head, but then remembered how humans are around wolves and his tail picked up speed, raised high.
“Oh no,” he let a laugh slip through, startling the shorter one and making Roman elbow his side. “I’m not gonna eat him. He’s not really my type of meat, even though he definitely looks tasty.”
They winked and Roman shoved him again, pushing him farther away.
“That’s it!” Roman shoved harder. Remus’ claws tried digging into the bricks at their feet, but he stumbled. “Go! Patton, give him the name so he could leave.”
Patton quickly squeaked out the name as Roman gave another hard push that made Remus trip over his paws. He growled at his brother until his hands left his fur. God, he was being worse than usual. Doesn’t care that they haven’t seen each other in months, but no. Remus had a bit too much fur to be seen with him now. Hypocrite.
“Jesus Fuck, fine I’ll go,” he swiped a paw at his brother. Roman jumped away from it as if it was a real threat and not the same thing as a lazy wave. Remus rolled his eyes and grumbled to himself. “See ya, Romy. Bye, Patton.”
Patton waved again, but Remus was already stalking down the street.

Valentine's Day.
A day of love.
A day of romance.
A day for couples to declare their undying love, while single people sat at home with a box of chocolate sulking.
For the last few years, Henry was the latter. He was no stranger to sitting home on “the most romantic day of the year”, feasting on some chocolate from a heart shaped box. Although he didn't recall much sulking.
You on the other hand, were never one to celebrate or sit in on Valentine's Day. Even single, you found an excuse to go out for the evening. Oh the looks you would get, while taking yourself out for a fancy dinner.
This year was different.
It was going to be low key, but no doubt still fun. The best part, Kal and Moose weren't home alone waiting.
“I'm going to need you to do me a big favour, okay pig.” Henry glanced down at Kal who was sitting by his side, watching every move Henry made in the kitchen. “You and Moose need to be the best boys that you can. No mayhem this evening.”
Licking his lips and yawning, Kal huffed as his tail thumped heavily on the floor. He was slightly insulted, when had he and Moose ever caused mayhem? They were the most perfect best boys, ever! What did Henry think he was doing, talking as if they were a couple of uncultured stray dogs.
Walking along the familiar street, you glance down at Moose, sniffing along Kal's street he huffed and picked up his speed. Almost there! A few more minutes and he would be with his best friend, romping and stalking that damn green ball that made that atrocious noise every time it moved. Tonight, maybe, just maybe, they would finally give that thing what it had coming.
“Are you and Kal going to be good?” You ask the unconcerned dog. “Hmm? Play with Kal's toys nicely and not tear Henry's house apart?”
Moose snuffled, whatever that meant. Of course they would be good, they were always good. Ugh, humans.
Stepping onto the front stoop of Henry's home, you asked Moose to sit while you checked to see if the front was unlocked. It wasn't surprising that you would simply walk in, if the door was unlocked. Henry rarely knocked at your place, most times he would be in the house and standing beside you before you took notice.
“Knock, Knock.” You call pushing open the door. Moose whimpers and yips, tugging on his leash. Unhooking his leash, you laugh when he jumps forward nearly knocking into Henry as he tries to get to Kal. “Remember boys, make good choices.”
“Good evening,” Henry smiles taking your coat and hanging it. “I uh, I'm glad you could make it over.”
“Of course, thanks for inviting us over.”
Wow, this was awkward. As much time as the two of you spent together, it shouldn't be this weird or awkward. Biting your bottom lip, you follow Henry into the house, stopping on the way to the kitchen to give Kal a nice scratch behind the ear. He and Moose were already at home on the couch, a few toys between them, as they happily sprawled out.
“Be good, Moose.” You wag a finger playfully at the red aussie, giving him a kiss on the nose. “Wow it smells good in here.” Inhaling deeply, you take a moment to appreciate the smell wafting from the kitchen.
Henry smiled proudly, quickly kissing your cheek. “Spiced fish and coriander rice, with peas.”
“Oh my god, this smells like heaven. Did you make this?”
“Of course.” Henry laughs slightly. “I can't promise it will be the best, but I think it has flavour.”
“Is there anything I can do to help?” You tug at the sleeves of your sweater.
“Have a seat? Sorry to rush you, but I wanted to get this on the table, while it's still hot.”
“Are you kidding? I will never feel rushed when there is food.” Laughing you grab the bottle of wine from the cupboard, along with two glasses and tote them to the table. The usually cluttered table is clear of all debris, a soft grey linen cloth draped on top, along with an arrangement of rather lovely scented candles. “I like the look. Going formal are we? Shit, I should have dressed up.”
“Non sense, you look lovely.” Henry chuckled, he had put more effort into the meal and table than he had planned. All last minute of course.
“And you look...” You glance at his casual jeans and tshirt. “I like that red.”
“Flattery?” Cocking his brow, Henry held back a laugh. Teasing you. “You feeling okay?”
“I feel fine, now let's eat.” You gesture to the plates in his hand. The fragrant smell is torture, it should be illegal to make you wait to taste food that looks and smells that good.
Seated, you can't help but sit inhaling the aroma wafting from the plate in front of you. Evidently Kal and Moose have picked up that it is dinner time, their respective paw steps coming from the living room. Attempting to look innocent, Kal slides in under the table his large body bumping against Henry's legs. If he is trying to be stealthy it is not working out. Moose takes a bold approach, sitting a few inches from the table he lifts his head and sniffs.
A low growling noise, he licks his lips and bounces to his hind feet before sinking back down into a sit.
“Moose, go.” You wave him away.
“Kal, stop licking my ankle.” Henry shakes his leg, Kal's cold wet nose hiking up the cuff of his jeans. “Kal, go on.”
“Moose, you know better.” Eyeing the dog you can't help but smile. “Worse than kids.”
“I would hope my children didn't hide under tables licking my feet.” Bursting into a laugh, Henry shakes his leg away from Kal. “Kal, go on. Go on boys, I will feed you after.”
Dejected and clearly starving, the two dogs slink back to the couch. At least they had tried for a scrap or even a scratch. Ending their plans, they sulk the entire ten feet that they walk. Poor dears. How ever will they survive? Knowing that dinner is waiting for them, you feel no guilt or sympathy. Spoiled is the only word to describe the pair of them. Worse than children, getting everything they want and acting like they are ignored when they don't.
“If you ever want to quit acting, I think you have a career in culinary.” You compliment reaching for the riesling that Henry had nearly expertly paired with dinner.
“There is more, I have a raspberries and cream or...”
“Wait, there is more? Oof, I may need a moment to let this digest.” You laugh lightly. Henry had gone all out this time. “You have really spoiled me.”
“I may be bias, but I think you deserve it.”
“Oh really? And why is that?”
“I have my reasons, all which are very good but escaping me in this moment. Trust me, when I say, I thoroughly enjoy getting to make you dinner. It's nice having someone to spend time with, especially today. It's been a while since I've had someone to spoil on Valentine's.” Henry picked up his glass, taking a drink of his wine. Licking his lips, he coughed lightly. “The last few years I have been making today all about Kal. Kalentine's Day, if you will. A nice bath, a good grooming, extra time at the park.”
“Sounds like a great way to spend the day.”
“It may be a bit late for the park, but I could offer a nice bath. Perhaps a foot rub?”
“All would be acceptable, as long as you don't take Kal's approach. I'm not much into having my feet licked.” You can't help yourself, it sort of slipped out. Nearly choking Henry in the process. Wine sputtered from his mouth, avoiding spitting it on you, he manages a napkin. His face red and his chest heaving with a silent laugh.
“Noted.” He gasps, caught between surprise and laughter. “Well, dessert then?”
Henry had tried to clear the table without your help, as if. Little good did it do, the second he stood you were on his heels carrying your plate into the kitchen. He rolled his eyes, but didn't say anything about it. He had learned not to argue with you, it would be futile. Keeping his protests silent, Henry watched as you loaded the dishwasher, humming quietly.
Dessert plated, Henry motioned for you to lead the way to the table. As nice as the table looked, you were more than happy to relax on the couch - even if it meant kicking Kal and Moose, the poor souls, to the floor. Diverting course, Henry followed, the two of you chatting about the latest family gossips. He was telling you about his nephew Oscar, when you gasped and stopped short.
Nearly bumping into you, Henry caught himself and both of the desserts that he had in his hand. On the floor of his living room there laid the evidence. All around were pieces of red and brown material. White cotton stuffing littered the room and the look on Moose's face told you nearly everything.
“Moose,” You groan looking at the stuffing flung around the room. The Aussie looking innocent, yet the clump of red material in his mouth is giving him away. “You tore up Kal's stuffy.”
“Stuffy?” Henry's eyes widened. “Oh shit. Shit.”
“What? What's wrong?” You watched as he placed dessert on the coffee table, rushing the to tall shelf that sat behind his couch.
At least he still had the flowers, well shit. His face fell when he found them smashed to the floor and trampled.
“Well,” He rubbed the back of his neck, gesturing to the mess in his living room. “Happy Valentine's Day. I had planned on giving you a present, but...”
“Oh, Henry.” You squeeze your eyes shut. “I'm so sorry. I... Moose!”
“No, no. It's fine. It's not entirely his fault.” He glanced at Kal, holding the head of the teddy bear in his mouth, “There is only one of them who could have reached it. Eh, bear?”
“Boys,” You sigh and shake your head.  “Wait,” You glance curiously at Henry, giving him a sly smirk, “did you say you got me a gift? It's not my birthday. Nor it is Christmas.”
“No, but it's Valentine's Day.” Henry shrugged debating to salvage the gift or move on. “I wanted to do something nice, since....well.”
“Oh! Right.” You can't contain the smile that overtook your face in seconds. “I um, I honestly thought this was just us having dinner as...well friends?”
“And it can still be that, absolutely.” Henry nodded. “I don't want to impose or push anything.”
Stooping to pick up a few pieces of what used to be a teddy bear, you scratch Kal behind the ears and take a seat on the couch. "You're not imposing anything. I just didn't know what we were. Or if we were anything. I thought that I'd come over as a friend and...you know what, let's not bother with this now. We can talk later, sit let's have dessert. I am dying to try this raspberry cream.”
Henry sits beside you, reaching for the dessert bowls, to find one empty. “Moose,” he looked at the dog with red cream on his snout. “I swear to god,”  laughing, he hands you a spoon. “Care to share?”
“Well, well, well.” You take the spoon shaking your head, playfully. “Henry Cavill is sharing dessert?”
“They destroyed your present and this is the only dessert, the least that I can do.”
“I wouldn't be against that bath,” You scoop some of the cream from the bowl, “but no feet.”
“No feet.” Henry laughed, his chest rumbling and his eyes crinkling. “Got it.”
