Bakugou glances over at the camera, brows furrowed as he adjusts his headset. "Alright, you extras, get ready to shut the hell up," he growls, his voice laced with annoyance. "She’s real. I’ve got her right here, and she’s playing with me tonight."

You laugh off-screen, causing his chat to explode with reactions. Up until now, they didn't believe a word Bakugou said when he claimed he had a girlfriend. After all, this is the guy known for his explosive reactions when things go slightly wrong. He grumbles, trying to keep his cool, but the slight blush on his cheeks gives him away.

The game loads up, some horror-puzzle co-op that requires a ton of coordination. But while Bakugou’s all business—focused on solving puzzles and surviving—you have other ideas. You’re busy teasing him, wandering off to explore the map, or purposely messing up just to get a rise out of him.

"Can you just—dammit! Will you STOP wandering off?" Bakugou snaps as he watches your character take another detour. "We’re supposed to be working together!"

You grin at the screen, purposely moving your character in circles. "Aw, come on, Suki~ We’re just having fun, right?"

His jaw clenches, and he mutters something under his breath about "not having fun if you keep screwing around." But his viewers are eating it up, laughing at his frustration and flooding the chat with comments like "She's brave for messing with him, LMAO😭😭" and "Bros .4 seconds away from exploding his monitor for the 10 millionth time🪦"

Eventually, he just huffs, slouching in his chair and mumbling, "Fine. Do whatever the hell you want. I’ll just wait here." His expression says he's beyond annoyed, but the hint of a smile peeking through his scowl gives away that maybe, just maybe, he's actually having a little fun too.

— Every time he messes up, he narrows his eyes at the camera with that “are you stupid?” glare. Chat spams "IT’S NOT OUR FAULT!” and "WHY R U LOOKING AT US LIKE WE DID THAT??" but he just huffs, “If you idiots weren’t DISTRACTING me…”

— Bakugou’s streaming style is brutally honest—constantly throwing out curses like it’s second nature. If he dies in-game, his go-to is, “How the hell am I supposed to win with this garbage game?!” and he never blames himself, ever.

— He has zero chill. Every so often, he’ll pound the desk so hard that the camera shakes, and one time he punched his mic so fiercely that it cut out, leaving chat in hysterics as he tries to fix it, muttering about “this piece of crap gear.”

— After every gaming session, he gives a review of the game he’s playing—most of which devolve into full-on rants about terrible controls, stupid enemies, and “whoever the hell designed these levels.” At this point, it's an entire essay by the time he's done.

— There are moments when he hits the mute button just to scream or cuss off-mic. Chat sees him red-faced and mouthing words, knowing he’s losing it, which makes them spam laugh emotes to annoy him further.

— Sometimes, when things get really bad, he just simply says "Okay." and goes quiet, leaning in close to the screen with this intense focus. Chat knows that if he’s silent, it’s only because he’s plotting to obliterate whatever got him killed.

— It’s become a running joke with his followers—every time he streams, they place bets on which piece of his equipment he’ll break. He’s replaced his keyboard three times already and had to upgrade his camera stand because he broke the last one during a particularly heated rage quit.

— When he finally beats a level, he acts like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “See? Wasn’t even hard, you just have to not be a dumbass.” Cue the smug smirk.

— Occasionally, in his absolute rage, he’ll end the stream immediately after a loss. One second he’s there, screaming at the game, and then—stream offline.

— Despite all the rage, he’s actually insanely good at gaming. When he goes on a winning streak, chat blows up with admiration, but he barely acknowledges it. “’Course I won—who the hell do you think I am?”

— He has zero patience for backseat gamers. “Oh, you think you could do better? Why don’t you go start your own damn channel, then!” The mods know by now to instantly time out anyone who even hints at suggesting how he should play, and the ban count is astronomical by the end of each stream.

— Occasionally, Bakugou gets so into the game that he goes almost silent, and chat jokes it’s an ASMR session because all they can hear is his intense breathing and muttered curses. “Oi, STOP saying it’s ASMR, it’s not ASMR, you freaks!”

— Loading screens are his worst enemy. Every single time, he glares directly into the camera, arms crossed and seething, ranting about the “stupid long loading times” and how he could’ve “beat the damn game twice by now.” and how "a whole child could've been born by now." Chat watches in suspense because they know the rage is simmering, just waiting to explode.

— If he’s playing a console game, the controller does not have a safe future. He’s thrown it across the room, slammed it on his knee or desk, and even threatened it like, “You’re next, you little piece of shit, keep messing up on me.” He’s gone through so many controllers that his sponsor had to send him extras.

— When he loses in a PvP game, he has 1,001 excuses. “Lag. Dumb luck. Exploiter. The devs nerfed my character, obviously.” If chat calls him out, he just scoffs, “You think that was my fault? Keep dreaming.” And the mods instantly clear out any “L” spam from chat because he’s already dangerously close to slamming his keyboard.

— His channel has special emotes for when he loses his temper—explosion icons, angry Bakugou faces, and even one of his own “ARE YOU FUCKIN’ KIDDING ME?!” face. Chat spams these whenever he starts heating up, which only fuels his fire.

— His viewers love to try and provoke him. Someone will innocently say, “Hey Dynamight, I think you missed something back there,” and he’ll instantly pause, glare at the screen, and say, “I DIDN’T MISS ANYTHING, DUMBASS, WE'RE MOVING ON.” It’s like a game within the game for his followers. (He goes back to check right after.)

— “Easy mode?” he scoffs at the suggestion. “I’d rather throw myself into a fire than play on easy mode.” Even if he’s dying over and over, he’ll never, ever change the difficulty. Chat has tried for months to get him to switch, but he’s stubbornly loyal to “the only real mode” (aka Hard Mode, Nightmare mode or above).

— If he actually wins a match, he’s unbearable. He’ll sit there, grinning and basking in his victory, smirking at the camera with a smug, “And that, extras, is why I’m better than every single one of you.” Cue chat sarcastically clapping.

— He once had a bet with his mods that he’d try to do a stream without cursing or raging. He lasted five minutes before he exploded, screaming, “THIS GAME IS FUCKING RIGGED!” after an unexpected jump-scare. The mods were dying, and he banned half of them out of spite (they were unbanned five minutes later, but still).

— Every time he’s about to start a new game, he’s got this exaggerated, dramatic intro: “ALRIGHT, EXTRAS, prepare yourselves ‘cause we’re about to dominate the shit outta this game. And if I see anyone backseat gaming, you’re banned. Don’t even THINK about telling me what to do.”

— Every now and then, when he dies for the tenth time in a row, he just deadpans to the camera, “I swear to God, I’m deleting my channel after this.” Chat knows he’s bluffing, but they still spam crying emojis like “NOOO PLEASE DON’T” just to mess with him.

— Every so often, when he’s focused on a tough level, he’ll mutter something like, “Okay, maybe you’re not so bad, chat. Don’t tell anyone I said that,” and the comments absolutely blow up with hearts and “WE LOVE YOU, DYNAMIGHT.” He immediately goes red and yells, “Didn’t mean it, idiots!” but it’s too late.

— Once, he rage-quit a game so hard that his entire setup fell silent. He’d punched the desk, and the screen went black. Chat watched in shock as the stream just… cut off. The clip went viral, with an entire 30-minute compilation titled “Every time Dynamight destroyed his setup” He came back the next day, reacted to it, and you already know he gave the video a thumbs down and left a long hate comment.

— His mods convinced him to play a “relaxing, casual game” that was secretly full of jump scares. The first time it happened, he almost flipped his entire desk. He immediately banned half of his mods and told the rest they were “on thin ice.” Chat still laughs about it every time he plays a “cute” game.

There's also this element that i see in MANY new fandoms that i'm tired of, that it reeks of superficiality and ableism.

here are two men in this story (or two women) (sometimes there's an element of a love triangle, it depends). the two of them are presented in a one dimensional manner at first, but as the story goes we see more their good parts and flaws. the narrative forces us to see them as complex characters. they both commit mistakes, but they also do good deeds

One of them was poor, grew up abused, or was disabled in some manner, the "outcast". The other one was wealthy, rich, handsome and overall had a happy, stable upbringing (the "status quo"). The narrative wants us to play with the preconcieved ideas we have of who is the villain and who is the hero. The narrative wants us to understand the "outcast" and not see them as one dimensional villains.

When these stories originally got the attention of the public, the "outcast" character initially got praise, liked for being deep, and many (arguably female, neurodivergent, or queer) fans found this character relatable and appealing to their tastes, due to facing similar struggles.

But in the last years, thanks to tumblr and X and TVTropes, a strange "purity culture" type of fandom emerged, that was obsessed in cataloging every single piece of media whether it was 'pure' and 'acceptable' or not. Only "nice" characters are acceptable to have. Grey characters are disgusting and abusive, "problematic" and are "bad role models", so teenagers /young women shouldn't like them (it's all about policing women's tastes, too since these fandoms have a larger female fanbase than male and i don't see these people barging into men's fandoms attacking them for their tastes)

(Hence why a lot of modern media (IMO) is so utterly bland with the character writing nowadays, but that's a rant for another day and why Bojack Horseman sucks)

So what happened with these previously deep, complicated characters, that acted the way they did due to years of abuse? That the narrative clearly pointed out? That they made A LOT of mistakes, but the narrative also pointed out they could do good? That minorities found them inspiring due to them, as well, also facing oppression in their lives? They're suddenly incels, murderers, assholes, or if they're women they're "pick mes"; "Not like other girls", or "internalized misogyny" for the crime of not liking pink. *rolls eyes* Anyone who is a fan of these characters has "issues" and one day "may end up in an abusive relationship" (wow, gross much?).

And the status quo characters? That the narrative clearly points out they're privileged and sheltered and act "accordingly", and that they need to learn to be more empathetic? Oh no, they're actually the "good guys" who will "save the day" and teach those "Monsters" a lesson. Any flaws they have are ignored by these fans by portraying them as "omg they're actually adorable cinnamon rolls and actually they're super smart by playing by society's rules instead of rebelling even when oppression is happening right in front of them".

So you see where's the fucked up thing? you're calling abuse victims monsters, while giving privileged spoiled brats a pass. you're calling women who might've been abused and seek comfort in fictional characters "enablers" and "future victims", just for their overall harmless tastes in fiction. you're calling women who might have been mistreated due to not wanting to follow gender roles "pathetic". You're judging people based on their looks, when you go on and on about how COINCIDENTALLY the one "ugly" / "deformed" character MUST BE EVIL and all their fans are "brainwashed".

And you claim to be the "woke" one? Please, you still dreamin'.

It's easy to get the impression that Tetsuji never cared enough to rein in Riko's behaviour and temper but I think it's the opposite. I think Riko grew up constantly being told stuff like, "You have to learn to control your temper" and, "Is that any way to behave?" by Tetsuji. I think Tetsuji would have even disciplined him harshly every time he was caught acting out of anger. But all that is coming from Tetsuji - the man who would beat a kid if they displeased him in any way. How can you ever really take to heart the words of someone who demonstrates the exact opposite of what they preach? How are you supposed to not learn that the real lesson is, "Become the one who has all the power over everyone else and you will never have to suffer criticism for how you behave ever again."

You know what? A live action Ninjago would be so hard to fuck up because it’s hard to mess up something that’s everything and nothing. Ninjago has the most insane world building, but it’s also very vague and open ended at times. While the characters have pretty distinct personalities, sometimes they just do something wack and random because why not. The characters ages and races aren’t set in stone, their powers can be edited for convenience, there’s a cannon high school au that can be worked with, the world is arguably massive, etc etc.

I’m not saying it’ll be good or bad, but I just think that giving the concept of Ninjago to a creative and open minded team of writers could make something (?) yk like a thing could happen. It could be legible.

I am really bad at articulating my thoughts but I think about this a lot as someone who hopes to 1- major in neuroscience (i'm 18, going to uni next year) and 2- is trans. I know being trans is not the same thing at all as POC experiences with fic, very cognizant of that, but more to the point where I relate to the aspect of not being able to get over the like mental wall of seeing "neutral" readers as me? I don't know what my brain is doing when i read certain fics but sometimes i can't do it.

I feel like I should close read some of my favorite fic and least favorite fic to see if there are triggers I didn't notice on the first read. does that make sense or seem similar to what you experience? Again I know it's not the same thing, but like i am so curious as to what cis straight white people put in their fic that makes it so obvious that they're cis straight white.

Writing reflects life and to answer this question properly, I have to talk about life shit to catch you up to speed, (this should help if you take a sociology or cultural anthropology class lmao) So, Welcome to:

Calvary yaps: Sociology & Intersectionality in fandom writing 101!

Disclaimer: I'm just a random bitch on the internet who loves English and the ridiculousness of social hierarchies, this will be referencing American social constructs and in groups only, with a focus on my experience as a Black American woman who reads a shit ton of books. Don't fight me if you hate my explanation, I will simply not respond.

Read my house rules before sending me an ask, I'm just being a dumb ass rn and word vomiting my interests, so pls i beg no follow up questions unless I say I'm open to em later.

Definitions to know:

Socialization: the act of preparing individuals to participate in society by learned social norms taught in ones family or social settings like school/friend groups. (one can be socialized in gender, race, cultural practices, etc.)

Social Hierarchies: systems of social organization in which some individuals enjoy a higher social status than others (in my opinion this is a lingering safety measure from lizard brain cavemen hunter/gatherer days)

Intersectionality: A term coined by Kimberlé Crenshaw; The process of acknowledging the unique parallels a marginalized person experiences when they have more than one marginalization (ie: race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, size, etc.)

Matriarchal society: Social groups/family structures that center female figures as representatives of authority.

Implicit Bias: Unintentional bias a person may have towards a group or individual based on learned stereotypes, prejudices, perceptions based on another's background or state of being.

first, yes anon you are making sense! So the main question:

'What cis straight white people put in their fic that makes it so obvious that they're cis straight white?'

I've been mulling this question around in my head for a few days and tried to figure out how to articulate this without going into depth in Sociological theory, but I can't! So here we are lmao, this is long as fuck so TLDR here.

I've talked to a LOT of Black and PoC people over the last months because I thought I was the only one who felt strange or could tell immediately when a writer was white, despite doing the best job they could to be neutral.

Every person I spoke to agreed they could tell right away even if we don't share similar racial backgrounds.

The answer I've come up with to why that is, is because white people are socialized (taught by society/their parents how to behave) in a way many black and PoC people are not, so their reader characters will often act in a way PoC people have learned not to, so it flags for many of us.

I plan to answer another question about this at a later date so an example is with shit like:

An over deference to hyper masculine male characters (for PoC cultures like certain Black/Latine groups that are often matriarchal in nature and don’t ascribe to as many traditional gender roles, this is a flag), lack of interpersonal/familial connection, over meekness, no challenging of external factors so things just HAPPEN to the reader and lack of awareness of surroundings to name a few. 

A lot of the language of the irl world places white cis people from Western countries as the default and everyone else as others. In which, PoC people have learned to navigate the world very carefully with a hyper-focus on what will potentially bring them harm/scrutiny/ostracism especially in white dominant spaces.

That extends to when we have down time while reading or partaking in media smfh.

I'm sure you've had to learn the same as a trans person navigating cis spaces and it's the same with any marginalization! If you are disabled you have an awareness of able bodied people and their expectations, same with being fat amongst skinny people, etc.

The more marginalizations you have, the louder the rules of social hierarchies become. Which is why many marginalized ppl stick close to those who 'get it' in their social groups as an act of safety in numbers. (Many of us attempt to have strong family connection/harmony because of this)

So referring to your comment about being trans is not the same thing at all as POC experiences with fic, it is when you are a Black or PoC trans person! My angel face @/buttdumplin has spoken a lot about that as a Mexican transman reading fics by cis people!

(Please for the love of God no one come to me explaining how marginalized they are so they shouldn't be lumped in with the white ppl PoC are cognizant of, I will check myself into a psych ward)

So what does that gotta do with reading fics?

No matter what anyone thinks, it is damn near impossible to not frame your writing from the perspective of your lived experiences. It's why even when I try my hardest to make my characters not sound Black, they will always read that way because I have been Black all of my life!

And it doesn't just happen with race, go on tiktok and search male authors writing women. (or here's another article lmao)

Also ask a Southerner how they know someone has never been to the South and don't know shit about our accents when they write Graves. There are linguistic tells that flag off and why we flame actors who pick up southern accents for their roles.

(They chew on that terrible goddamn Appalachian or Louisiana Accent not realizing Southern accents come in many fonts.)

So when I read a fic about Kyle Garrick from a non black person, I can tell the writer is non black by linguistic implications, the things they emphasize about him and what they don't. It doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy reading fics from non black people, I can just tell!

And sometimes that means I, and other PoC's associate the Reader as a white OC while reading fics.

For example, all black people are not monolithic because of our cultural and regional experiences, but many of us share common threads. That's usually family involvement, colloquialisms, that stupid fucking cookie tin our elders put sewing supplies in...

Other non Black PoC people might share similar cultural practices, so when I'm reading fics from say a latina, I will cock my head and go wait.... are you...? And surely enough, they are a person of color. 

But even while reading from a non black PoC, I have to tread carefully because anti black sentiment exists in many cultures, which is why you'll hear me say Black and PoC/Non black people interchangeably.

It’s how the conversation of Implicit bias comes up, because unknowingly non white characters can sometimes be written with a hyper focus that makes them seem inhumanly one characteristic or with little to no background while the other characters are fully fleshed out.

like the character of color is just a stand in to move the plot around white characters forward. 

So all that to say, without sometimes meaning to white writers will always sound off to me in a way that my brain can pick up on in the most minuscule ways because my awareness of my blackness/otherness has been drilled in from birth and reinforced by social norms.

I can even tell immediately if a white person has been around only white spaces their whole life with the jokes they tell lol.

In the grand scheme of things the race of the writer is most important to me when something jarring comes up that slaps me away from the experience, it explains so much of the disconnect.

Every marginalized person has a threshold for what they can ignore as a ‘trigger’ before they’re ejected from reader inserts, mine is usually the association with racial historical happenings, certain gender dynamics, etc.

It's why I mention crying like a little bitch when I read my friend Jess's (Kyletogaz) TF 141 Hair series, Dragon’s (Dragonnarative-writes) Transferrable Skills, and even Xavi's (Buttdumplin) Piercing fic.

Reading those fics felt like safety and familiarity. It was a moment where I realized I could drop the mental load I had no idea I was carrying, where I was trying to prepare myself for potential emotional damage and just READ.

It's also why as a Black person who fucks with kink and sex work it's been so touch and go when navigating dark fics/kink fics/fics about Sex workers.

Because there are different rules of engagement non white kinksters have to be aware of and that leads to a point on the collective vs. Individual experience as a PoC in kink, that I’ll eventually make a post about at some point or another. Maybe…

Ok, so König is DEFINITELY shocked when he finds out your heritage. You two took one of those ancestry tests and when he sees your results he’s absolutely SHOOK. “Schatz, you are part Austrian?” He’ll ask, his eyes bulging with his surprise.

But it’s not a bad surprise! He loves it! However, when he finds out how little you know about the culture and that you can’t fluidly speak German, he takes it upon himself to become your personal culture and language tutor.

Starts with the different foods and how to make them, then slowly introduces holidays and phrases as well into the learning experience.

He loves the look on your face when you say your first full German sentence without hesitation in sight. And what you ask him to start celebrating the Austrian holidays at home with you? Even better! He couldn’t be happier about it, liebling!

The point is he loves that he can now share the culture with you after teaching you a few things about it. And he fully accepts the fact that you’ll need some help figuring out the language sometimes or remembering how to do certain things for certain Austrian holidays.

The things he saw of Reid and Gideon’s relationship Morgan only caught glances of. A familiarity that could be felt through their shared looks and the way Reid would turn toward him when he felt uncertain. Once, just once, had Morgan seen them smile at each other at the same time.

He only saw it once too, and at the time he thought he’d made it up. Rainy. Hot coffee all over his shirt after slipping on leaves just outside of work. His mood so bad even Elle didn’t mess with him that morning upon catching sight of him exiting the elevator. He spent the time he usually spent chatting up his team by pulling paper towel after paper towel out of the dispenser, trying desperately to soak the remaining coffee stain out of his clothes. He would be late. Hotch wasn’t gonna kill him, but he was gonna be annoyed.

“Dammit,” he groaned, throwing the last of the towels in the trash and making his way toward the conference room. Another complaint was just about to leave his lips when he saw them, a glimpse just visible in the slit of the open door. Whatever he’d been about to say died at the tip of his tongue. Horrified, at first, at what he thought they were doing, only it didn’t fully seem real. The way Gideon’s hands moved over Reid’s body didn’t seem sensual at all.

Tickling him, he thought and then immediately questioned it. Had Reid really been curling in on himself just then as Gideon skittered his fingers over his sides? Because only seconds later, as Hotch passed him and entered the room, both of them were perfectly collected.

Reid made a face when he saw him. “What happened to you?” Not a single trace of laughter in his voice, although Morgan was certain - was he? - he’d been giggling.

He shook his head. “I spilled my coffee and have frankly had a terrible morning.”

“Not as bad as Mr Anderson and his family,” Gideon said, maybe too casually, and Morgan forgot all about him possibly tickling their youngest member as he caught the blood on the photographs spread across the table.

He brought it up years later, the two of them sharing a hotel room in a little town in rural Montana. Neither of them were drinking, but the intensity of the case had made them delirious enough that it felt like it. Morgan threw a balled up sock at Reid, who did little about it. “Speaking of Gideon,” he started, having let Reid talk about him without interrupting. He did that sometimes. Morgan never pressed him. “I need some clarity about something from ages ago. Like, pre-Prentiss times.”

“Okay.” He gripped the sock which had landed on his lap. Threw it onto the bed, watched it bounce off and onto the floor. “Go ahead.”

“This is kind of, uh. Weird? To ask, I mean.”

Reid frowned, evidently more on edge now. “What is it?”

“It’s about something I saw. Or I think I saw. And to be fair I’m not sure why it’s stuck with me for this long, but it has.”

“Morgan, you’re scaring me.”

Because I swear I once saw him tickling you, but then you were acting all normal only seconds later and I think I want to know more to make sure I’m not going crazy.” For some reason, as he spoke, Morgan could feel that Reid was getting embarrassed and was torn between giving him space by looking away and staring into his soul because he couldn’t comprehend why he would get embarrassed in the first place.

“Oh,” was all he said, and by the time Morgan had made up his mind to stare Reid was glaring a hole into the floor.

Morgan held up his hands. “You don’t have to tell me. Forget I asked, okay?”

“He did that sometimes,” Reid said quietly.

“Tickle you?”

“Yes.”

“Oh.”

He looked up. Eyes locked. “That’s weird, right?”

“Is it?”

“Most people would think so.”

“Do I look like most people to you?”

Reid’s smile was shy. He didn’t elaborate.

Obviously Morgan couldn’t stop thinking about it. Reid being ticklish and Reid trusting someone enough to be vulnerable like that around them. However it had started, whatever the reason, it apparently brought them both enough comfort for it to continue once Reid started in the BAU. There was something precious about that. Precious and heartbreaking. Morgan couldn’t understand why he found it heartbreaking.

“Can I ask you something?”

They were at Reid’s apartment. Morgan couldn’t remember how he started going there, but it was a weekly thing at that point.

“Will I regret it if I say yes?” Reid replied, not looking up from whatever he was looking up on his computer.

Morgan snorted. “Probably.”

“Well, now I’m curious, so ask anyway.”

“Why tickling?”

Reid froze for only a second, invisible to the untrained eye, only Morgan of course was about to get a masters degree in Spencer Reid at that point. He didn’t try to dismiss his curiosity this time. Only waited for Reid to slowly look up, cheeks slightly pink.

“I’m unsure,” he admitted. “I reckon it was something that started when I was young and continued when I got older. He didn’t do it often, mind you. But occasionally.”

Morgan nodded. “Okay, so the origins are uncertain. But why keep it up? Did you enjoy it?”

A deeper pink. “I didn’t dislike it.”

“Not really answering my question, but I can put the pieces together.” He was trying extremely hard not to grin.

Reid looked away, fully red now. “He didn’t seem to have any rhyme or reason for when he did it. He just always knew when it was needed.”

“Did he only do it briefly or fully pin you?”

“Only briefly.”

“Do you miss it?”

“More often than I think I realized.” He shook his head. “I started thinking about it when you brought it up last time. I haven’t stopped since.”

Morgan crossed his arms. “I mean, if you ever wanted anyone else to do it.” He trailed off. He knew Reid knew what he meant.

Reid ran a hand over his face. “I’ll keep it in mind.”

“Seriously. I would be down.”

“I know, Morgan.”

Things became weird after that. Not uncomfortable, necessarily, but Morgan felt like Reid was on edge around him. As if he thought he would just attack him out of nowhere. As if Morgan would ever do that now, knowing what he knew.

He kept thinking about it, though. Reid giggling under his fingers. Reid wanting him to tickle him.

It was safe to say he was going a little crazy.

“Why are you looking at him like that?” Garcia demanded more than once, because apparently Morgan had completely lost his sense of subtlety.

“Like what?” he asked, defensive and aware of it.

“Like you’re obsessed with him or something.” Her voice was softer when she said that. Morgan wondered what she thought. Was too afraid to ask.

“Okay, this is getting ridiculous.” He wasn’t prepared for Reid to be the one to bring it up. “As much as I will hate every second of it, we should probably talk.”

Morgan wasn’t sure why he felt himself flush. “Right. We should.” He turned toward the semi-empty office. “Uh. Conference room?”

“You’ve been avoiding me ever since I admitted to missing it,” Reid said as Morgan closed the door behind them. He looked like he was trying very hard to act nonchalant about it all, but Morgan could see right through him. He was hurt.

“I swear I haven’t. At least not on purpose.”

“You think it’s weird.”

“No-”

“You think I’m weird.”

“The only thing I find weird is my inability to figure out how to navigate this.” He shook his head. “I can’t stop thinking about it and I don’t know how you want me to act.”

Reid blinked. “Oh.”

“Yeah. Oh.” Morgan ran a hand over his face. “I feel like if I do it you’d get mad at me for trying to replace him, but also pretending I don’t know about it might make you think I don’t care or find it weird - evidently I was right - but look, Reid, I don’t find it weird, okay? I’m just terrified of crossing a boundary here.”

Reid was flushing to the roots of his hair. “Okay. Okay, that makes sense. I’m sorry-”

“You don’t have to apologize.”

“You really don’t have to do anything just because he did.”

“But I want to.” It was the first time Morgan admitted it aloud. “I want to do it.”

Reid averted his gaze. “Why?”

“Because I want to see you laugh and squirm.” Morgan’s smile softened. “And because I want to bring you comfort if you need it, or whatever it does for you. And listen, if that was something you only did with him, I’ll respect that.”

“I did that with my mom, too,” he said quietly. “That’s why Gideon did it. And why Ethan did it.”

“Your ex?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, if you want one more person to do it for you, I’m here.”

Reid finally, finally, smiled. “I know.” A beat, and, “Thanks.”

The next day, Morgan got to work. They still hadn’t really figured it all out - Reid said not having had to discuss it with anyone before was part of it. Morgan would be damned if he couldn’t figure this out like the ones before him had.

So he watched him.

Reid knew he was watching him, obviously, but life continued. New cases fell on their desks, and after a particularly bad one, when all of them were exhausted and quiet, Morgan wondered if this was the time. If he should sit down next to him on the jet and poke his side. But it didn’t feel right. He felt Reid wouldn’t appreciate it.

He stumbled upon several moments like that during the next few weeks, where the genius could either really need a good laugh or to be comforted, but Morgan couldn’t ever decide if it was the right time. He was starting to feel frustrated himself.

In the end, he just did it. No preamble. No second thoughts. If it was the wrong time, Reid would let him know.

He could tell Reid was stressed and overwhelmed and second guessing himself, and maybe that wasn’t the right time to tickle someone, but Morgan knew how Reid felt about it. That, in the right circumstances, it could make him feel better.

And so he circled his hands around his waist, said, “Cut yourself some slack, pretty boy,” and curled his fingers over skin. Reid jumped, but instead of squirming away he squirmed into him, a gentle laugh Morgan would think of for the next coming weeks slipping out before he could stop it, and Morgan was sure that even if it didn’t help it most definitely didn’t hurt.

That was all he could hope for, really.

Amazing amazing movie! And an excellent writing and directorial debut by Zoey Kravitz! What an outstanding achievement! We love a multi-talented queen! 👑

This movie was able to capture feminine rage unlike anything I have ever seen .... it was just chef's kiss 🙌🏽 The only other movie that gave me a similar vibe was Ready or Not (2019) which I also loved to absolute pieces.

Fair Warning: The movie does feature strong themes of sexual violence and SA but it didn't have to be explicit to convey how horrific it was, which I always appreciate.

The weird part is that there was also so much humour and comedic moments mixed in!

Snake Venom shots at the pool, Sarah screaming "fat blunt" so Frida wouldn't get caught, and that moment when Sarah gave Frida the smoke and they were smiling all the way through fully realizing the predicament they were in and what had been happening to them — The reality of that moment should have been completely horrifying but instead it was played off with so much hilarity that I couldn't help but laugh.

That's really hard thing to do when you're dealing with such a heavy subject matter. So kudos to you Zoe Kravitz!

I also didn't see the ending coming... I wish we knew more... especially with Sarah's character because she was such a gem. But I bet she's going to do what she said and start a camp to train other women to survive the wilderness ... and you know what?

I'm also not mad at Frida for turning the tables either. She did what she had to do to come out on top and I can't be mad at that!

But Slater's comeuppance just seemed a bit too "tame" for my liking.

I know that psychologically speaking it probably wasn't but ironically I would've loved to see him suffer a lot more. Him calling Frida his "best friend" was haunting. How many times did he take her to the island?

I think the ending was aiming to be more unsettling than happy. It wanted to drive home the idea that sometimes prey have claws and teeth too. I get that, but I would've preferred to know more.

So the ending was kind of mehhh... it could've been stronger but they sacrificed a strong, satisfying ending for a plot twist. It wasn't bad but... there are some movies where a satisfying ending is preferable to the "you didn't see that coming, did you?"

I feel if the writers had re-worked the ending to give the audience more details and definition, it would've been a masterpiece but regardless of that, I still really loved this movie.

It was one of the best I've seen this year.

Decided to post some art of Lori Zechlin, aka Black Alice!

She's the magic member of the lil Outlaws and probably their most mischievous member. She just likes having fun, its not her fault nobody else sees how funny she is! She's kinda the baby of the group (she's the youngest member btw) so she gets a little leeway but sometimes the team lose their patience with her.

Due to her extremely impish nature, the other kids sometimes consider her to be a bit of a brat. But they can't deny how OP her powers can be (when it works tho, lol). Her powers, by the way, to steal the magic from other magical users. For only a short time, and sometimes she picks up the wrong magic accidently, she's still new to all this!

Her story is a bit different to canon tho some similarities remain. One day her powers start to appear, Lori starts to have fun with all the random powers she gets. All the trouble she causes grabs the attention of the newly formed Birds of Prey, and so Barbara takes her under her wing. To try to help Lori with her magic (maybe she tries to find magic mentors for her) and protect her, as some bad people have taken notice of someone siphoning the magical powers of others for short bursts of time.

I'm not sure if Lori's mother is already dead, or if I should have her die at some point. I probably should, since her death is an important part of Lori's character.

Its possible Barbara asked Jason if she could join his group of friends, so that Lori won't feel too lonely. Also Lori is kinda exhausting to deal with, what with all her pranks and magical induced chaos. Jason felt that he and Lori were pretty similar in a lot of ways, he identified real hard with her backstory. So he invites her to the team, plus he finds her pranks funny as hell (unless they involved him ofc lol).

Of the team she probably gets along best with Eddie, Courtney, and Owen, Gillian and Jason find her funny as well. Rose and Toni finds her annoying, one of the few things they agree on.

Btw, I'm not sure if I'm keeping the plotpoint of Lori and Charlotte being secret sisters, that felt really random and I'm not sure is even compatible with their backstories? I'm a small fan of the character and I think I was unlucky that in this app the character isn't that popular (I guess)

It's not annoying for me at all to get asks! I just take too long to answer them sometimes

I confess that I don't know much about him but hey you gotta give kudos to the guy for being one of the few characters with an official kid, that constantly shows up! So I think that's neat

As for the character not being so popular, well, there are PLENTY of underrated characters around here (mostly because of the lack of media and not that much advertising I'm guessing) and as discouraging as this is, it's also an opportunity for you to create your own stuff about them!

And let's talk real, the chances of disney actually taking their own characters into consideration and creating new things that can be truly appealing to a greater audience-- are extremely low. Not impossible but pretty close to zero. (Praise Topolino and many other comics for still be gracing us with new things here and there)

So what is left to do? Well, you can pretty much steal the character away. Give them the appreciation you would like to see on them.

That's kind of how I began here on tumblr, there were only a few things out there in the whole internet about the characters that I liked, so I started to create for myself (creating a whole art account was a bonus, driven by the idea that possibly there's someone out there who likes the same thing I do and it's also desperate for any content)

There were soooo many characters that I had no idea even existed until I saw people here on Tumblr talking about them. So what I'm trying to say is, if you like a character and want to see more fancontent about them, start putting your own ideas out there, let it be sharing the media they're on, drawing, writing, edits and anything else, it's both good for you because it's stuff about a character you enjoy and it can lead to other people wanting to know more about the character, adore them and also want to create stuff. So a win-win situation kind of! I know this is an optimistic take on it but oh well, it's either that or be stuck with nothing sometimes

The closest thing to an OC I have for the Nimona Movie is Ambrosius's mom, and while she started out as just an invention to develop Ambrosius's character I really like coming up with lore for her lol. So if you are interested please enjoy my mama Goldenloin lore (and feel free to use my take on this character if you need a side-character in a fic or smth lol)

She is a descendant of Gloreth and she has a twin brother, due to her parents using fertility treatments (which increases chances of multiples)

Her name is Seraphi, I wanted to stick with the "heaven-inspired" theme Ambrosius set lol

Her brother is sterile, so continuing Gloreth's legacy fell squarely to her. She had no other cousins/siblings on that side, because the Goldenloin line suffers from fertility issues

She struggled with fertility as well, and was terrified that she would fail in her responsibility of carrying on Gloreth's legacy. She suffered many miscarriages and fertility treatments before her rainbow baby, Ambrosius, was born

She had extremely high expectations for Ambrosius, largely because of how difficult it was to bring him into the world, the fact that he was an only child, and the pressure she'd been taught to believe was normal for a descendant of Gloreth

Despite her often unreasonable expectations, she loved her son very much and was extremely grateful to have been able to have him. She struggled to show her love, though, because growing up her own family was extremely uptight and emotionally reserved, rarely showing her or her brother affection of any kind and acting more as mentors than as caregivers

She considered herself to be a very warm and woke parent because she actually occasionally spent time with her child and didn't just have the staff do it, like how she was raised. She even sometimes said things like "I love you" to him!!!! (she was still too emotionally constipated to be able to hug her own baby for more than 5 seconds but she tried lol)

She served as a knight when she was young around the same time as the Director, and they were very close friends. Because of this she trusted the Director to look out for her child when he was training at the Institute.

She still maintained her belief in the Institute even after the whole Nimona-Wall-Canon incident, and did not fully believe in Ballister's innocence, until she found out the Director, her closest friend, STABBED (or thought she did) and SHOT her only child. Finding out this information was the catalyst that led to her finally changing her fundamental beliefs. Even then she continued to idolize Gloreth, but was willing to accept that it was time for things to change even if those beliefs were still dear to her

When they were kids, she actually accepted Ballister as Ambrosius's friend, although she didn't agree with the Queen's decision to let him be a knight. But, she was capable of understanding that the Queen's choice wasn't this 10-year-old's fault, so she was still nice to him

Once it became clear they were dating she had more of an issue with it, mostly because That's Gay and while she fancied herself a #ally, she also knew that her son was expected to sire heirs, and even if they used a surrogate or something, she feared the non-traditional family structure would be a bad look

Ambrosius frequently went low-contact with his parents to protect his mental health, and cut them off completely after they still refused to believe Ballister's innocence after the Wall incident. Once Seraphi learned what the Director had done, she and his dad sent a letter to Ambrosius and Ballister apologizing and begging to be a part of their lives. With Ballister's permission, they resumed low-contact, and eventually his parents had worked on themselves and changed enough to be a more consistent part of their lives

She and Nimona Do Not like each other. They don't antagonize each other, but they do avoid each other. Nimona triggers Seraphi's deeply ingrained fear of monsters that had been hammered into her her whole life, even though she can now control it, and she reminds Nimona a lot of Gloreth AFTER the townspeople destroyed her spirit.

I also like to think that Nimona checked in on Gloreth's descendants through the centuries. She was her best friend, and from the credits it seems like Nimona still loved Gloreth even after what happened. I like to think she peeked in on them and watched them grow up, including Seraphi, and watching them become instilled with hatred and fear and repression broke her heart every time

If Ballister and Ambrosius ever had/adopted kids she would be THE trust fund grandma. They leave baby in her care for 30 minutes and she hands back the most spoiled child they've ever seen. They have to set boundaries when their kiddo comes home like "excuse me dads why don't WE have a swimming pool with a Jacuzzi and a water slide? Are we poor?"

I had to take a break for a few days. I couldn’t even look at anything related to CM/Aaron Hotchner related bc it wasn’t safe. Which sounds dumb but here we are anyway. I’m sad I missed Halloween, I had a spooky fic for it but maybe I’ll post it anyway sometime.

I am still very wary of fandom space. And I probably pushed away a bit chunk of the fandom with my last post but honestly I don’t rly care. Fandom is not a safe place for anyone who isn’t a skinny white girl. That’s just a fact and no, I don’t just mean the CM fandom, I mean any fandom. The rest of us who don’t fit into that particular category have to fight hard and work hard to make spaces that are safe for us. And even then we still have ppl who will try to tell us what to do, or to make us believe otherwise about the characters we love.

I want to make it clear that I am not bothered that the person on AO3 didn’t want to read my fic. Nor do I care that they didn’t want to read it bc it is for plus size readers. I genuinely don’t care what ppl want to do and not do. Read or don’t read my works, that’s your choice. It’s the way they worded it. Like I somehow deceived them into reading gross yucky plus size reader stuff. Plus the fact that they were either a troll or genuinely fucking blind because on AO3 I have that it’s for plus size ppl in the fucking title AND the tags. Easily visible. But yeah, I was already having a bad time online anyway because fatphobia is getting a lot worse online again. So this was just the straw that broke the camels back.

Their comment is gone now, they deleted it themselves but even if they hadn’t, I just want to say you shouldn’t go after ppl and harass them. This doesn’t help anyone, and certainly won’t help them change their ways. They will double down most often and their distain for the communities they already don’t like will just grow. That’s all I’ll say on that now.

I’ll be back to rbing stuff and maybe writing things today, but again I am very wary of fandom now.

A lot of people say that the whole pit rage thing was Jason takes away what's interesting about his character. I don't agree, and even when I love the pit rage angle (my first approach to dc was arrow so that's why I love it so much) I don't think it's necessary to still say he wasn't in his right mind when he did what he did.

We're his feelings valid? 100%

Did he actually believe that death was the only way to stop some people? Yeah, that doesn't make him insane.

But, I do think he was very traumatized and acted accordingly. I don't think he actually wanted to hurt Tim, I don't think he wanted to hurt Bruce or Dick. I think he was manipulated (maybe on porpoise, or maybe Talia just told him what she believed, I mean, she believes in killing, so to her ofc Bruce didn't avenged Jason and didn't care, because to her caring would be killing the Joker. You can see it as her manipulating him on porpoise, which I don't think it's what happened, or she actually believed what she told him) and with the pain he felt, and the memory loss and ptsd, he acted out of character. I do think he actually believes killing some people is necessary, I don't think the amount of violence of his actions makes sense unless he isn't actually in his right mind. Not everyone breaks the same and at the same time or in the same way. People break and show their worst sides sometimes, and that is killing beyond what's necessary even to him. Another way to look at it is the writers wanted him to be bad, not caring what made sense or not.

I still really like the whole pit rage thing. But someone extremely traumatized also can act without realizing what they are doing, and they can also have memory loss of what they've done, and they can also do things that if they hadn't been triggered they wouldn't have done.

So, when you both started your thing, he said everything was alright cause obviously, he liked you and you for him, so why not?

But something was off, like he was holding back on something... so you confronted him.

He said that even liking you, it's the first time he does something like this. He isn't good with people so flirting with woman it's rare but with men? its something completely new.

You reasured him that he didnt need to change anything, just be him, thats why you liked him.

So, he started to loose himself more, and be more casual (something new for him).

Donquixote Doflamingo

He sees you as a pet.

First you were his citizen, then his guard and now, his little plaything.

He doesn't really care that you are a men, in fact he sees it as a plus to make you embarrased.

He gropes your ass or touches your crotch on the most innapropiates moments just to make you blush.

At first he just liked to tormenting you but after time passed, he started to really enjoy your pressence to the point of not caring that you are a men and starting to fantazise about you (in really compromised positions).

Now, you are his plaything that does everything he likes (cause nobody wants to mess with him) and sometimes get gifts.

You worked for him, of course and he didn't realized your pressence until one day you crashed against him.

From that day, somehow he didnt stop thinking about you and started to seek you on work.

When he finally got your name, he made you his personal assistant.

You began to thought he is the most annoying boss ever, cause he made you do stupid things.

From his part, he just wanted to make excuses to get you to go into his office.

Very cliche, one day you couldn't get it more and was about to present your resignation and he looked at you dead on the eye and told you not to leave him.

The next thing is that both of you were making out on the office.

Smoker

He hated you cause you both had the same rank on the marines. That made it a eternal competition for you both, which you both loved.

Everytime you both encounter, it was like sparkles and stars collapsed, from hate you both said.

One day you both coincided on a club and he saw you getting flirty with another men, he was speechless.

Then you came to him and asked clueless "Do you like men too?"

And his brain just stopped working, now everytime he sees you, he coudlnt stop thinking about what he saw and asking himself if you are now trying to flirt with him too.

So, you gave him some space and surprisingly, he didn't like it, it was like he was loosing something on his day.

He then started to imagine himself with you and not that man. Until one day on a meeting he said kiss me.

You did, and he thought "perfect, now i can finally said that i dont like him", but he just wanted more.

So he couldnt fight anymore against you and your rivalry. Now he is on your feet.

Akagami Shanks

At first he thought "yeah, i like this man, its good at drinking" then it was like "He is my drinking buddy and my second on charge" and finally he realized "maybe i want to kiss his lips."

But he didnt get it for a long time, because it was like just friends things, just crewmembers living together on the ship.

Once he gets he likes you, he gets nervous and embarrased around you, to the point you felt bad.

Then one night, when you both were drank, he kissed you and one thing led to another.

WHen you both woke up on the same bed and naked, he coudlnt hide more his feelings or his embarrasment so... he decided to make it official, but just for the two of you first.

Cause you didnt know how the crew would take it. Spoiler: they knew but of course, it was obvious but they didnt care.

so. totally unrelated fandom post.

i've only seen the first episode of the wizards of waverly place sequel (wizards beyond waverly place) but i have thoughts. the basic premise of the show is that justin russo has settled down with a non-wizarding wife (giada), has two kids, and has become an ordinary middle school teacher after being fired from wiztech. his life is upturned when his sister, alex, drops round with a delinquent young girl named billy who needs help learning magic—and, oh yeah, she's supposedly part of some big prophecy to save the world.

so far, all i've seen is criticism of the characters and the show in general, but i think a lot of it is unfair. i'll concede that replicating the character dynamics from the original show (with giada as theresa, justin as jerry, billy as alex, roman as justin, milo as max, etc) was a bad move, but justin's character in particular has received a lot of flack that i, personally, find unreasonable.

people say that justin wouldn't dare give up being a wizard; that the trajectory of his life makes no sense given his love of magic. but life doesn't always work out the way we imagine, even with meticulous planning and preparedness. we can't forget that justin's own father was very much the same; that jerry was a very skilled wizard who loved magic and could never imagine giving it up. given that, i think it makes sense for justin's character to settle down with a non-magical wife and become a school principal. he held on to magic the longest of the three siblings because he defined himself by his skill with it, but he learned, as he aged, that magic wasn't everything.

besides, seeing justin lose his magical lifestyle as his ages only to reclaim it again at the start of this series is a great, if obvious, analogy for what happens to most of us as we age. even those who hold on tightest to their younger years can find themselves losing the the magic felt in childhood; we have to reach out and take it back for ourselves. children are sometimes the best ones at showing us what we have lost, hence: justin teaches magical children and in doing so rediscovers his own magic.

(side note: being a middle school principal suits him for obvious reasons: his love of learning, love of rules, love of wonder. the whole "being fired from wiztech because of an incident with a unicorn" also makes sense to me because, as much as alex learned from him, he learned from alex, too.)

i have nothing to say about alex's character because selena gomez came back and fucking crushed it. the biggest problem is the delivery of the prophecy: she just drops it like "hey billy's the only one who can save the world" and then leaves. now, do i think this is bad writing? yes. but i also think it would make sense if this was utter bullshit; if alex only said this to justin to ensure he really, truly enveloped himself back into the magical world because she knows just how much he misses it. (it's just a prank, bro!)

what would i have changed? i'd probably have made it so that alex had a kid like justin, and justin had a kid like alex. i would not give justin two boys as i don't think that does anything for his character. i would include both jerry and harper, as their actors have a goddamn podcast about the show and deserve to be included. (not to mention how jerry's character, in mirroring justin's, could be very informative for the whole plot.) also, justin's wife? she's fine, but please at least address what happened to juliet. was it the whole "i'm a vampire and i don't grow old but you do" thing? because that only adds to the reasoning behind justin giving up his magical lifestyle.

(also, and this is a tiny thing, but people are wondering how justin the principal and his investigative reporter wife can afford their house? and, HELLO, we get told that max is now a billionaire—thanks to his sandwich enterprise, i think. he would've totally bought them a house after giada convinced justin to accept it.)
