I saw someone throw something at Bilie Eilish while performing and Florence Pugn during a press tour for Dune 2. I will never understand why this is a thing.

Hi @hprecfest I think you might've missed this one 🥲
Day 7: the best of your OTP
The Miseducation of Draco Malfoy by @magpiefngrl (38k words, E, drarry)
Absolutely adore this fic along with 9½ Days but I saw someone had already recced that and I wanted to give readers some variety.
Oh who am I even kidding? 🤣 Everyone everywhere has already read this fic. It is a fandom classic but I promise that if you revisit it, you'll just find new reasons to fall in love, all over again!
I love this fic for so many reasons that it's hard to say what I don't love about it.
There is something about the characterization of Harry and Draco that this author gets right. It doesn't take any effort on the readers part to suspend disbelief because both Harry and Draco feel like they've been lifted in their entirety from the books and dropped into scenario framed by the story. Maybe they're both just a tiny bit softer around the edges but it adds to the charm of the story.
You pick up this and the next thing you know, you're already 30 pages in without realising it.
It's fun and funny but it's also full of substance. I absolutely loved Draco's quiet growth.
This is something that matters to me in fiction. When we're dealing with a morally-ambiguous character, one that's made a lot of mistakes, it's nice to read about them given a chance — a real chance, to unfurl and become better than who they were.
Many stories do that but many stories also feel as though they don't give these characters much choice in the matter. The circumstances around the change are cruel and forced on them through perhaps severe isolation, loneliness or misfortune. This one wasn't like that.
I would probably explain in details all the things I loved about it if I didn't want to spoil the fic on the off-chance a reader hasn't gotten to it yet.
But stories like these give me a special feeling, where the writer is kinder and more open-minded and forgiving of a character than perhaps the original creator. And the narrative doesn't change the character but instead gives them an opportunity to change — all on their own, at their own pace and only if they want to.
That's what this fic did. It's also why it is one of my absolute faves.
Another moment that I absolutely loved was the way that Draco reacted when he realised there was something between Harry and him.
I loved this moment because it's nice to read about a character who realises they have feelings for someone and even if they have reasons to be fearful or afraid, they move towards the feeling instead of away from it. They don't treat their heart with avoidance or try to beat it into submission. I think that shit needs to be romanticised more 🤣
And it makes sense in the context of who Harry and Draco are, that Harry might be more cautious, fearful and unsure himself when his heart is really on the line. Especially when you consider his upbringing with the Dursleys. So when Draco showed up at his door to kiss him and show him how to say goodnight properly after what was, for all intents and purposes, a date—and one that had gone very well at that—my heart expanded in my chest like the grinch on Christmas 🤣🤣🤣
If you can't tell, I really really love this fic. I could just go on and on but I'll stop now, just read it!

@hprecfest Day 6: Fic for ship you don't normally read.
Punch Drunk by provocative_envy
Pairing: Harry x Pansy (13.3k words, E, AU–Muggle High School)
Why I recommend it:
I stumbled on this recently and had the best time! It's not a pairing I thought I would like until I read this fic and honestly Pansy really shined.
She was unapologetically girly.
I find that kind of thing is sometimes treated with a little disdain in fiction, so when I come across a female protagonist that's unapologetic about her interests and also slightly provacative, I can't help but celebrate it a little! 🎉👯♀️🥂
The banter between Harry and Pansy was fun, but there was also a lot of emotional depth to her, a tangible undercurrent of vulnerability that made reading her perspective truly lovely.
I also liked that Harry was so judgy! And yet, for all that or probably because of it, he was irrevocably attracted to her.
I would probably be reading more fics with this pairing if they were available.
10/10 it was worth the read.
