happy friday! here is a wonderful set by @myshunosun, perfect for any sim but especially those with an affinity for music. 

i learned a lot converting this set, from tackling my demons (slots), to adjusting the footprint, to finally adding shadows, to figuring out how to make the guitar amp invisible. speaking of the guitar, it’s cloned from crispsandkerosene’s acoustic guitar, which requires argon’s hack. the storage unit is cloned from thimblesims’ dawn living storage unit c. it has 8 slots, so i just duplicated the top middle slot to make up for it. i found if you want to add two stack of LPs on the bottom of the storage unit like shown above, its best to turn them around. it won’t flicker when moving the camera that way for some reason. that should be it, enjoy! ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა

How to fix the reblog to likes radius

1- Go back to your likes, select a post and hold E + put your pointer over the rb icon, choose the blog u want to rb to n press it (this is the fast rb, it takes less time n energy than the traditional method) 2- do that in Many posts (even if the post it old, specially if its art. many ppl will be surprised, but happy) 3- remember that you can always edit rb's if you want to leave commentary or organize with tags (there's never a time limit to add tags) 4- if you dont want to clutter a blog with random stuff/want to keep that blog a specific aes or theme/are afraid someone will judge, make a sideblog 4-1 like literally, you dont have to organize Just with tags in one blog if you dont want to. just make a sideblog 5- Try to make going into your likes an habit. (if it helps, keep a tab to your likes open and pinned. if you get bored doing something you can procrastinate in your likes <-does that) 6- [This next one if Completely a suggestion] if youre now checkin your likes regularly, i recommend taking the like off after you rb 6-1 this is so the rb radius increases 6-2 also if you think of rebloggin in general, try not liking if the likes are already a lot more than reblogs 7- remember that you can rb one thing to as many blogs you like 8- remember you can like once, but you can always rb multiple times, and multiple versions of one post

Reasons to rb: -a reblog with a tag (and luck) in your blog is easier to find than a random like in a sea of likes -if the original post is deleted, it will still be up in your blog with a rb, while in your likes, if you like the original post and not a rb, will be lost for a good while -tumblr has a culture, a culture based in the fact that sharing, even in silence, is better than just leaving a like, As Likes Where Added After Reblogs -this is not instagram or twitter, the only algorithm here is bare-bones and mainly Not connected to likes (check the Reblog Graph at the side of likes in a big post. if you dont have it, turn the thingy on in settings -> labs. it shows best how reblogs help) -with reblogs you can basically create a time capsule of interests in your blog. your blogs have something called Archive for a reason -also youll make someone really happy, even if you dont leave tags

related to a recent anon, I'll be perfectly honest i specifically haven't uploaded a very personal piece with a skull as the centerpoint because I've interacted with you before (in a totally positive way! on a jokey piece i made and tagged you in!) and figured you'd take the prior interaction on a joke post as incentive to rip me a new one. 😬 like for classical pieces or mass produced art or things you're tagged in by the creator i get it, but i won't say that anon was completely wrong when they say it's a bit disheartening to have you rb random people's personal art unprompted saying their art fails at 100% perfect anatomy. doesn't matter if you're a "gimmick blog" that stuff can hit deep when it's totally out of the blue.

I realise I may have reacted blithely to the other anon and likely gave the impression that I don't care about how what I do may affect artists, this was not my intention.

After looking through my blog, as far as I can tell, I haven't judged personal art in a few months (besides recently where OP asked me to), which was due to becoming aware of how unprompted criticism could affect an artist. This realisation shouldn't have taken me so long to reach or act on.

This and the other anon have encouraged me to examine how I choose which skeletons to judge and I will set myself some ground rules to ensure I avoid judging personal art uninvited in the future.

format tags: #txt, #art, and #pic (used in memes to differentiate from fan art) are most common. there is also #fic and #vid

character tags: i try to tag every character that appears in a post (#andrew minyard, #neil josten, #kevin day, #dan wilds, #matt boyd, #aaron minyard, #seth gordon, #allison reynolds, #nicky hemmick, #renee walker, #wymack). other characters have been tagged but these are the most common, try searching other characters by full name. however, if it's more than say 6 characters in a post, i use the general tag #the foxes, with the most important characters to the post tagged separately. #andreil, being one of my most common tags, often doesn't necessarily have #andrew minyard, and #neil josten, tagged separately. #the upperclassmen, also have their own tag because i have made several posts addressing them in particular

post content tags: #lol, which is for jokes and things i find funny. i will tag things as #meta sometimes, but the application is spotty and random. #scene is for content of scenes from canon

ships: #andreil is far and away my favorite and most-blogged-about ship. there’s also #kateaaron and #danmatt. keep an eye out for #denee even though there’s not much there yet. i choose to ignore ships i don’t like and won’t tag or reblog them. use your discretion to figure out which ones i’m talking about

GOSH thank you so much for liking my old hq stuff enough to ask for more!! I’m not sure if I’ll get back to drawing bokuro soon, honestly? So I can’t promise that if I’ll go through with the suggestion it’ll be soon, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind for when the mood strikes!! And about the shop, I add to it whenever I feel there’s enough stuff piled up to? Though I plan to start adding more often than that from now on - I don’t really have anything for momo and kuroo to add on rb that isn’t already there, but as soon as I’ll have more of either of them I’ll remember to put them up! Thank you!!!!!! I actually used to have that same problem with shadows? However much I kept track of where the lightsource was and the shapes I was working with it always looked wrong, somehow - the way I fixed it was by adding more shadows, actually. If you’ll pick any of my colored pieces you’ll see I don’t really put down lights all that often, which means the base color ends up being my light color too, and everything else is just shadows getting darker the further I go from where the light hits the object I’m shading - generally, I use a soft tool like a brush or a marker to very roughly put down where I want the shadows to go, and then using the same tool I smudge and darken it till it looks right to me. I can’t really explain it any better than this? But I have a small tutorial for how I do this in my art tips tag, if you wanna give it a look!

It’s a mixture of both, actually! I like to look at clothing, both irl (on people I see, or stuff in the shops I visit, or even pics and movies and tv shows!) and drawn too - in anime and illustrations and manga and cartoons! I look at them and try to remember how they’re made, and then when I draw I think about it all and come up with my own by mixing stuff I liked from all those things - unless I see a piece of clothing that’d work just right as it is on a character, in which case I just draw it either as best as I can from memory or, if I have it, using a ref! It’s one of the things I find the most fun when drawing, I’m glad to hear you like what I come up with!! Thank you so much!!!
