I love how Neil literally faked his way into having a drivers license. Like obviously he can drive but he’s never taken a driving test. The fbi just fucking handed him the document for his official license

The thing about Andrew and Kevin is Andrew believes that Kevin can't really be this spineless, and Kevin believes Andrew can't really be this apathetic, and they both resolve to poke each other with a pointy stick until they're proven correct. And then Neil shows up and instead of going hey maybe poking each other with sticks isn't getting anywhere he says oh look it's stick time and starts poking them both even harder. And then it works.

Maybe exy is a little boring to him — but andrew doesn’t just not care about exy, neil notes in the beginning of tfc that he seems to outright resent it. boredom doesn’t bring about resentment. but do you know what does? the idea that a sport you barely give a shit about is the only reason anyone gives a shit about you

thinking about themes of authority and power and abuse in aftg. the foxes are all distrustful of authority figures to the point that their staff is like two people because coach doesn't trust anybody else and neither do they. when Neil's dad's people come for him they're dressed as security guards and riding in police cars and paying off cops. Drake being a marine and that being part of the reason Luther likes him and doesn't believe Andrew. Luther being a pastor who turns a blind eye and perpetuates abuse. Andrew's court-mandated medication that makes his life a living hell. Riko paying off doctors at Easthaven because he can. Andrew killing Tilda because he can't trust cps will help them. when Neil is handcuffed and burned and bleeding and almost certainly going to die and the cop tells him not to take it personally he says something like "I have to, it's my life." aaron getting arrested for protecting his brother and neil picking fights with everyone because they're all so angry and just feel so helpless and that being a good example of the reason the foxes struggle so much as a team—they're all so angry (of course they are) and they can't trust anyone
