It is absolutely fascinating how much of the internet is people claiming things that are completely untrue and using logical fallacies, sometimes actual propaganda tactics (ie the truth is unknowable, you must give everyone the benefit of the doubt at all times defense), and zero evidence to do it

Saw someone claim that people are saying non-Black people who don’t listen to rap are racist. I would love it if non-Black people would learn the phrase, “I don’t know enough about that subject to speak about it” because that’s not what’s happening.

Basically people came into a conversation and thought, “Well, I’m not racist and I don’t like rap so I think people who agree with me should be given the benefit of the doubt—after all, they are Good White People, like me [yes most of these people are white]”

When what’s actually happening is a bunch of things. One: a large number of non-Black people are coming into spaces talking about rap talking about how they don’t listen to rap.

Of those, a lot of people are saying that they don’t like rap for racist stereotype reasons. “I don’t like violence, I don’t like sex in my music” then unironically talking about their favourite metal bands—in specific spaces meant to discuss rap.

A lot of people (and heavily overlapping with the first group) are using rap as a pejorative for all Black music and all Black artists. I’ve seen people referencing LOTS of non-rap artists as representation of rap, for some reason???? This is what I mean by giving non-Black people the benefit of the doubt [because you agree with them].

Okay and thirdly: this is what they’re not doing. So the person I saw was saying that since Black artists can be in any genre, not liking rap [and being very loud about it] is not necessarily racist. None of the people I saw naming art named a single Black artist.

Not.

One.

The only names I saw were Hozier, whatever metal band of the week is popular, and maybe Taylor Swift.

These people were not naming Luther Vandross, Beyonce, Ice Spice, Stevie Wonder, Poly Styrene, Ice-T, Jimi Hendrix, or Slash. They were specifically naming white artists in a conversation about Black rap.

Some of them had the nerve to name Macklemore. How is that not racist?

And before writing the posts defending them coming into a pro-Black space with this white-centering nonsense did you not see it? Or did you not want to?

Maybe you should’ve just let this iceberg glide by.

Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy. Also HOW does he take these on and off. Experts weigh in
