Okay so about those headcanons-
I believe ascending to god-hood in Great God Grove is heavily Tied to a persons mental health, whole post is under read-more for the sake of everyone, poorly written ramblings by someone that struggles to write out thoughts below with some doodles (obviously spoilers too!) :
Aka dumb idiots who girl-rot (/silly) and don't handle their internal issues end up ascended in the realms hours to DAYS after the event instead of immediately after like in the case of King. In my headcanon this is because a gods new form is tied to who they are, and if you hate yourself, don't know who you are, or think you're nothing, it'll effect how you turn out, fighting with other aspects of how you see yourself for dominance. The harder the struggle to create a form, the more of a recoup period for said god to actually start being able to do things- think about it like recovering from exertion or from being sick.
This of course can lead to some problems for the said gods with more problems than others, like Inspekta:
He fears being nobody, dying, leaving nothing behind, and being forgotten- and when he ascended he quite literally lost his whole torso and his tail popped off! hands possibly representin' the others that propped him up! Finally waking up after ascending I'd take it he took his form rather poorly and actually needed extra time to recover *emotionally* before anything on top of the time needed to pop into full existence as a god. I believe when the other gods saw his entrance into the realm, it was quite literally him dropping in from a long ways up with a thud for the jacket and his head bouncing away (really silly, like a ball). while being able to put it together for the other gods he ended up really struggling about what he'd become in private.
Another god i believe may have had issues with ascending is not surprisingly, Click Clack. A god i feel in his human life spent making himself palatable and burying editing out how he felt about things and being unnoticed. Also wouldn't be surprising some of the burying editing came in during the time between him and Thespius ascended, his lover was above them now, after all! I actually drew how i envisioned his entrance to the god realm, because i'm biased.
like a sudden ink spill appeared after a while and he crawled out, exhausted.
anyway i've rambled incoherently enough hope u enjoyed my nonsense and the doodles [explodes]
#great god grove#ggg inspekta#ggg click clack#ggg thespius#ggg spoilers#ggg miss mitternacht#wish i was better at writing my thoughts its a bit of a mess#but oh well! c'est la vie#fun fact the drawings of cc appearing in the realm was like the 2nd thing i drew of ggg its been here good second#also calling my ass out on last post “all the non hc doodles except one” NUH UH YOU FORGOT THE CURSED ONES.#those exist too they just suck completely so u forgot they existed lol#but yeagh. anyway#i think about these two specifically w god hood becuase of [gestures] lOOK#miss mitternacht is telling thespius Click clack's gonna be fine in that last image btw for context. she's seen some rough entrances before

Knight of My Heart
Pairing: Max Verstappen x Reader
Summary: After one too many drinks, a protective Max arrives right when you need him most.
1.7k words / Masterlist
It was nearly 2am when Max’s phone buzzed on his nightstand, dragging him from the edges of sleep. The faint light from his screen illuminated the dark room, and he reached for it with a groggy hand, squinting at the text that appeared.
“She’s drunk. Like realllly drunk. Can you come get her?”
Max sat up, his heart already sinking. The message was from one of your friends, someone whose name he only half-remembered from the countless times they’d insisted they’d “watch out for you.” Max knew better by now. He sighed, ranking a hand through his messy hair, before throwing the blanket off and quickly pulling on a hoodie and jeans.
The drive to the club was quiet, but Max’s mind wasn’t. He hated these nights. It wasn’t just the thought of you being drunk and vulnerable; it was the idea that you were so carefree and beautiful, and people always noticed. Too many times Max had seen guys try to get too close, their smiles too slick and intentions too obvious.
When he finally pulled up outside the club he saw you almost immediately. His grip on the steering wheel tightened.
You were leaning against a lamp post near the curb swaying slightly in your heels, a dazed smile on your face as a man hovered beside you. Max’s chest tightened at the sight. The guy was too close, his body angled toward yours as he spoke animatedly, gesturing with his hands. You laughed softly at whatever he said, your voice carrying over the low thrum of the music spilling from the club’s entrance.
Max killed the engine and climbed out, his jaw set. His strides were purposeful, closing the distance between you in seconds.
“Maxie!” you squealed the moment you spotted him, your arms flinging open in delight.
“You’re here!” you exclaimed, throwing your arms around his torso and nearly toppling yourself over in the process.
The guy looked over at Max, not at all intimidated, but Max didn’t care. His jaw tightened, his fists clenching by his sides as he stepped closer.
“You good?” Max asks you, his voice a little rougher than usual.
The man gave Max a once-over, clearly sizing him up. “She seems fine to me,” he said, his tone too casual for Max’s liking.
Max’s eyes narrow, the jealousy coursing through him now unmistakable. He took a step closer to you, brushing his hand lightly against your shoulder. “Oh because you know her so well, right?” he asked the guy, voice clipped.
With a taunting smirk, the guy raised his hands in mock surrender. “She was just telling me about her night. She looked like she needed some company.”
Max wasn’t having it, he stands tall, his body blocking your view of the man now. “Right, I don’t think you understand,” Max replied dryly, placing a firm hand on your waist. “I’m her boyfriend, she's mine. Thanks for your concern, but I’ll take it from here.”
The man’s lips twitched, as though he wanted to argue, but something in Max’s gaze seemed to convince him otherwise. With a tight nod, he muttered a quick, “Whatever man,” and walked off into the crowd.
As the guy disappeared, Max’s frustration didn’t completely fade, but he focused right back on you. Guiding you towards his car, hand never leaving your side. You leaned into him, your cheek resting against his shoulder the alcohol making your limbs feel heavy.
You looked up at him, your face slightly flushed, your eyes half-lidded. “You okay?” you asked quietly.
Max’s lips press together tightly, trying to ignore the flare of jealousy still lingering. “I’m fine,” he said, even though he’s anything but. "Just... I want you to be safe, alright?"
You nod, though your head wobbles slightly. "I know... just wanted to have fun."
Max exhaled slowly, his tension only easing slightly as he turned to you. You were beaming up at him, clearly oblivious to the small confrontation that had just unfolded.
“I get it,” he said softly, his hand steadying you at your waist. “But where are your friends?”
“They’re inside,” you mumbled, waving a hand vaguely toward the club entrance. “Or somewhere. I don’t know. I came out to get some air.”
Max sighed, scanning the area for any sign of your group. Just then a few of your friends emerged from the club giggling.
“Max!” One of them called her tone far too cheery. “She’s all yours.”
Max’s brows furrowed, his frustration bubbling over. “Why did you let her get this drunk?” he snapped. “Anything could’ve happened to her out here!”
Your friend blinked, her smile faltering. “She’s a big girl Max. Besides, we knew you’d come.”
“That’s not the point,” Max said, his voice sharp. "You should’ve made sure she was safe.”
Your friends exchanged glances mumbling something, he exhaled heavily running a hand through his hair. “Look, I’m glad you've all had fun, but next time just… watch out for her yeah? She’s very important to me.” He gazed down at you.
Your friends exchanged glances, some looking sheepish, others visibly annoyed at his tone.
“We had it under control, Max,” one of your friends said, her tone defensive. “We weren’t going to babysit her all night.”
Max’s jaw clenched. “Being there for your friend isn’t babysitting, it’s just what you do.”
Another friend, the quieter one of the group spoke up “Okay Max. We’ll keep a better eye on her next time, promise.”
“Thank you,” he said simply, looking back down at you. Your eyes were half-closed, a lazy smile on your lips as you mumbled something unintelligible against his chest.
Max shook his head, a mix of exasperation and fondness crossing his face. “Alright,” he said to the group, his tone a little lighter now. “I’m taking her home. Get back safely.”
“We will,” the quieter friend said, giving him a small, apologetic smile.
Max turned to you with a sigh of relief. “Let’s get you home.”
Max guided you to the car, his hand never leaving your waist. You leaned into him heavily, giggling at every little thing—the way his hand steadied you, the low muttering under his breath, even the way he opened the car door for you like you were royalty.
“You’re so nice to me, Maxie,” you said, settling into the passenger seat with a content sigh.
“I’m always nice to you,” he replied, pulling the seatbelt across your body and clicking it into place.
“You are,” you agreed, your voice soft and dreamy. “You’re my favourite person, you know that?”
Max froze for a moment, sure his heart skipped a beat, before he shook his head and closed your door.
The drive home was quiet, save for your occasional hums and mumbled comments about the pretty city lights. Max glanced at you every so often, his hand gripping your thigh, your eyes fluttering shut for brief moments.
When he finally pulled into his apartment’s parking garag you stirred, blinking sleepily. Inside you clung to him like a lifeline, your arms looped around his neck as he guided you to the bathroom.
“You’re so tall,” you murmured, your head resting against his chest. “Like a tree. A strong, handsome tree.”
Max chuckled despite himself, shaking his head as he set you down on the bathroom counter. “You’re ridiculous.”
“But you like me anyway,” you said, your grin lazy and smug.
He didn’t respond, instead reaching for a makeup remover wipe from the cabinet. You watched him curiously as he carefully cupped your chin, tilting your head up to meet his gaze.
“What are you doing?” you asked.
“Taking your makeup off,” he said simply.
You stared at him, your expression unreadable, as he carefully wiped at your face. His touch was gentle, almost reverent, and he avoided your eyes, focusing instead on the task at hand.
"You take such good care of me." You whispered, reaching up to touch his hand. “You don’t have to, you know?”
“I know,” he said with a slight frown, his eyes finally meeting yours. “But I want to. You deserve it.”
“Come on, let’s get you to bed.” Max carried you to the bedroom, letting you climb him like a koala as you giggled into his shoulder. He set you down gently, pulling the covers over you before crouching beside the bed. You blinked at him sleepily, a small smile tugging at your lips.
“You’re like a knight,” you mumbled, your voice thick with drowsiness. “My very own knight in shining armour.”
Max chuckled, shaking his head. “A very tired knight,” he replied, brushing a stray hair from your face. “But you’re going to hate me in the morning if I let you go to sleep without water and something for your hangover.”
“I don’t hate you,” you slurred, blinking up at him with glassy eyes. “I could never hate you.”
His chest tightened at the sincerity in your tone, “Stay awake for just a few more minutes okay? I’ll be right back.”
You made a soft noise of protest as he stood, but you didn’t try to stop him. Max moved quietly through the apartment, grabbing a glass from the kitchen and filling it with cold water. From the bathroom he grabbed a pack of paracetamol, the domesticity of the routine bringing a faint smile to his lips.
When he returned you were still half-propped against the pillows, your eyes fluttering open at the sound of his footsteps.
“Here,” Max said, sitting on the edge of the bed. He handed you the glass and pressed two pills into your palm. “Take these and drink some water. Trust me, you’ll thank me in the morning.”
You squinted at the pills like they’d personally offended you. “Do I have to?”
“Yes,” Max replied firmly, his lips quirking upward. “No arguments.”
“Bossy,” you muttered, but you popped the pills into your mouth and swallowed them with some water. “Happy now?”
“Very.”
You handed the glass back to him, and he set it on the nightstand before leaning forward to pull the blankets higher around you.
“I’m so lucky you’re my Maxie,” you sighed.
“Sleep,” he said softly, stroking your cheek.
“Stay,” you murmured, your eyes already half-closed.
Max hesitated, his heart twisting with adoration, before nodding. “I’ll be right here.”

JUST FRIENDS — n.rk
albeit the lines of your friendship were quite blurred, it still confused you as to why riki was suddenly adamant on having your hair tie on his wrist at all times. given, you know, that it would be basically telling the world that the two of you were dating.
GENRE— fluff, highschool au, friends to lovers
WARNINGS— lots of touching, jealousy, mutual pining but they are both oblivious idiots, cursing, toxicity (they are huge haters imo), kissing, slight making out (?), let me know if I missed any!
WORDCOUNT— 6.4k
NOTE— fluff is my biggest enemy, so this was quite the challenge for me. bnd ver posted here!
YOU AND RIKI WERE CLOSE. Too close, according to the rest of your friends.
You both had been best friends since kindergarten, the story of your meeting never failing to tear a chuckle out of anyone who heard it.
You were three years old, having arrived at kindergarten a few minutes ago. You were scared to go and talk to the other kids — what if they were mean? What if they laughed at your pretty bows? What if they didn't want to play with you?
You sat in one corner, away from the other kids, playing with a small doll. Amidst your playing, you saw little feet approach you. You looked up, noticing a boy of your age. He stared right back at you, before pointing at you. “You are going to be my best friend!”
The boy had later introduced himself to be Riki, and you both had truly become best friends. The two of you were together through thick and thin, never leaving each other's side. There were no secrets between the two of you, the thought itself incredulous. You both were best friends, why on earth would you both hide something from each other?
Your bond was unbreakable, something that left many writhing in envy. How come you both were so close, never able to leave each other's side?
With a good bond, comes judgement. Judgement by others, assumptions about your true relationship.
While you both were close, not everyone knew that you both were best friends, right? To any stranger, you both were the embodiment of 'siblings, or dating?'.
While you both bickered and were playful enough to be termed as siblings, the way you both acted with each other, often left people confused.
See, your love language was physical touch, while his was acts of service. After spending so much time with each other for all these years, you both were bound to rub off on each other, weren't you?
His hand was almost always on your waist, or your shoulders — didn't matter where you guys were, or what you were doing — it was always there. If somehow he forgot to put his hand around you, you would loop your arm around his, or intertwine your hands. It was cute, definitely very cute, but — the extreme couple energy that you both excluded was insane.
It didn't help that you were often touching him, skinship being basically your second nature. You were always fixing his hair, his clothes, touching him while you were speaking to him, while you were laughing with him — how could you both expect anyone to believe that you weren't dating each other?
Not only that, both of you would often be seen giving each other random gifts, without it being a special occasion. You were often seen giving Riki a chocolate at a random time of the day, while he was often delivering milk to you. If anyone asked, he always had the same excuse: “She doesn't drink enough water, she needs to stay hydrated”, while you always said “he likes chocolates, is it so wrong of me to give chocolates to a friend?” Needless to say, they always backed off after that.
It was only after a certain set of incidents that everyone finally had something to confirm that yes, you both were indeed more than friends.
IT WAS A QUARTER PAST SEVEN IN THE MORNING, fifteen minutes left for the start of the first period. You and Riki had arrived at school just five minutes ago, with his hand around your waist as usual. The two of you were giggling at some tea you were spilling regarding a relationship between a senior and a sophmore, since you were physically incapable of keeping things from him. Just as you were getting to the good part of the gossip, one of Riki’s friends from the football team ran up to the two of you. Jake.
“Hey lovebirds!” Jake cheerily waved to the both of you, his tone teasing. You simply rolled your eyes with a smile, having gotten used to the antics of his friends. “Riki, dude, I'm gonna need a favour — one of our frontiers is absent, and none of the subs are available. Please help us out for today's match — I promise I'll make it up to you, even if we don't win. You will even have a customized jersey for the match, which you can keep with yourself permanently–!”
Riki hesitated, his grip on your waist tightening slightly. “I don't know, I was planning on leaving early with ___ today, to get ice cream and all…”
You immediately pinched his hand that was around your waist. “He means yes, we can always reschedule the hangout.”
Jake's eyes lit up. “Really?! Thank you so much, you have no idea how desperately we needed another player — I'll go tell the others now, you can come and practice with us during recess!”
Just before he could leave, you halted him, getting out of Riki's grasp. “Jake, wait–”
He stopped on the spot, looking at you with a confused gaze. “Something wrong?”
You stepped forward, brushing some hair out of his face gently, smoothing the slightly messy hair on top of head. You took a step back. “There you go, the mess was bothering me.”
He blinked, a faint red coating his cheeks and creeping up his neck. He was well aware of your touchy nature, but this was the first time he was on the receiving end of it, hence his flustered state. “O-Oh, thanks — I- I'll go now–”
He quickly turned on his heel and left, a light jog evident in his retreating figure. You turned back towards Riki, a smile on your face. “Let's go to class, or else we might be late.”
He nodded, his arm looping around your waist once more, guiding you around the busy halls, to class. You couldn't help but notice the slightly tighter grip he had on your waist, or the way his expression was different than his usual when you turned back towards him.
CLASS WAS BORING AS USUAL. The two of you sat at the back of class, messing around as usual instead of studying. Yet, there was something amiss.
Usually, Riki was a lot more playful, a lot more relaxed and free around you. Currently however, there seemed to be an air of hesitation, reluctance around him. His smile didn't exactly reach his eyes, his laughter feeling forced.
‘Maybe he just isn't feeling it today?’ was what you thought, so you didn't bother asking. You knew if something was seriously bothering him, he would have told you already.
Before long, the bell rang, signifying recess. You quickly held Riki's hand, pulling him out of his seat, and racing into the hall. You both had already eaten in class, — how you both never get caught, is a mystery you're both yet to solve — so he would have the entire recess to practice with the rest of the football team for the match that was going to take place later on.
You both quickly navigate your way to the football ground, spotting Jake and the rest of the team doing lazy stretches to warm up first. He spotted the two of you quickly enough, waving and rushing over to where you both were standing.
“Hey,” he began, a grin adorning his face. “I'm so glad you didn't change your mind — ___, you can sit on the benches and watch if you'd like, I'm sure the others won't mind! Also, coach got the customized jersey done already — no idea how he got it done so quickly — it's there in the locker rooms, so you can change into that right now if you'd like!”
You admired his ability to yap continually without stopping, making you smile a little. You nodded in his direction, nudging Riki to go and change already, before quickly walking over to the benches and taking a seat.
Soon enough, Riki was back, adorning the jersey, making your jaw drop. You couldn't take your eyes off him — you had never seen him in attire similar to that before, but damn, he sure did look amazing.
Your face flushed slightly, as you quickly tried to snap out of these thoughts. Nope, that's your best friend, you're not going to think of him in that sense.
You watched as they all played, Riki surprisingly being able to keep pace with them. You never watched him play before, the sight drawing you in like a moth to a flame. His concentration was — were you blushing?!
God, what was wrong with you? Had you been single for so long that the sight of your best friend simply practicing in the field had you all giddy?
The rest of the recess went on smoothly, with you trying not to concentrate on Riki too much, lest someone caught you with your cheeks on fire. God, you really needed to get yourself together.
Once practice was over, Riki quickly went to you, his usual smile back on face. You handed him a bottle of water, quickly wiping his sweat off him. He started babbling while you were doing so. “Did you see that? I did pretty good back there, right? Jake said that he was confident we would win the match today, and said I was better than the guy I'm subbing for! Isn't that great?”
You let out a hum, finishing wiping off his sweat. “Yea, you were amazing. C'mon now, we need to run, or else we will be late for history — you know how ma'am gets when someone is even two seconds late.”
He nodded, seemingly satisfied with your answer. He didn't need to know that you weren't exactly watching much of what he was doing, or that you were only watching him.
AS SOON AS THE BELL FOR THE LAST PERIOD RANG, nearly the whole school raced to the grounds. All the players, including Riki, ran to the locker rooms to change, whereas the rest of the students quickly found the best seats possible.
You sat at the very front, a bottle of water and a towel already in your hands. You were a little tense for the match, since the opponent team seemed to be extremely well prepared. Still, you tried to not let your mind wander, focusing on Riki, as he came out of the locker rooms, into the field.
The match started. The opposing team was putting up a good defense, but Riki’s team was able to keep up. It was hard to watch, the many nearly-goals and nearly-fouls heightening your nerves. You tried to not let them get to your head, focusing instead on cheering for Riki.
Half time arrived soon enough, with both the teams having scored one goal each. Riki came straight to you, quickly taking the bottle from your hand, gulping it all down. He gave you a sheepish grin. “Sorry, I'm really nervous for the match. The opposing team is… starting to get angry. I don't think they expected us to keep up, so they were a little dumbfounded. But now they are simply pissed — they aren't exactly known for being the fairest when it comes to playing football, and winning.”
You bit your lip, wiping off his sweat with the towel. “But they can't use unfair means to win, can they? They will get a foul…”
Your words died down on your tongue once you noticed his grim expression. “If they somehow injured one of us, leaving us incapable of playing, what is one red card going to do? They have subs available, we don't. If one of us is out, the match would already be lost.”
You didn't know what to say in order to encourage or comfort him. You knew that the reputation of their opponents wasn't the best, but there was nothing anyone could do, other than to stay safe and try their best. So that's what you told him.
He gave you an amused smile. A teasing glint appeared in his eyes.“You sound worried. Are you scared that they might hurt me?”
You scowled at him. “This isn't a joke! They could actually injure you, can't you just give me your word that you will at least try to stay safe?”
He let out a small snicker, before giving you a mock salute. “Of course ma'am. Just do me a favour, will you?”
You tilted your head to the side. A favour? Now? You decided not to question it. “Sure I can. But it depends on what it is.”
He grinned at you, before pulling his jersey off him, revealing a plain white t-shirt underneath. That explained why he was sweating more than the others. Who even wears two layers to a football match?
He shoved it in your chest. “Wear it, and cheer for me.”
You gave him an incredulous look. “No way! It's literally drenched in your sweat.”
He pouted, giving you a pleading look. “Please? For me? It's only for an hour and a half, can't you do it? I'll feel a lot more motivated then. C'mon, just do it, please–”
You groaned at his incessant begging. “Fine! I'll wear it — just… ugh, help me out with it–”
The grin on his face grew, as he quickly helped slide the jersey onto you. He proudly made you twirl for him, with you hiding your face in your hands from the utter embarrassment of it — but complying nonetheless. Unbeknownst to you, a smug smirk adorned his face, as he locked eyes with Jake in the process, who quickly looked away, his ears turning red at having been caught looking.
The whistle sounded again, signifying the start of the second half. Riki quickly left, the hurried ‘good luck!’ that you threw at him bringing a smile to his face.
You watched as he advanced into the field with renowned vigour, the determined expression on his face soothing your nerves slightly. You made sure to cheer for him even louder than before, the grin that he threw your way making it worth the looks that were shot in your direction.
But the opposing team did not relent. Eager to match Riki's newfound enthusiasm, they changed their strategies. The brutality in every move that they made caused your anxiety to spike.
Riki's team, however, didn't let it deter them. Everyone was determined to win, to not succumb to the team that always tries to get their way through unfair means.
Speaking of unfair means, the attempts at making foul moves increased ten-fold. Many of the players in Riki's team were almost injured, but somehow they managed to avoid it at the last second. Why the referee wasn't giving any yellow cards, was beyond your imagination.
The clock was ticking down. Not a single goal had been made. The audience was starting to lose hope, the enthusiasm in their cheers starting to fade. You made sure to continue screaming, cheering them on as best as you could. In the midst of it all, Riki glanced at you. Upon seeing the expression on your face, he made it his personal mission to win. He had to, for you. He wasn't going to disappoint you, he swore to himself.
With a determined look, he surged forward, trying to get to the ball. Jake had the ball, and he locked eyes with him. Upon noticing the younger’s determined expression, he managed to pass the ball to him.
Riki caught the ball without any interceptions, quickly racing towards the goal. He skillfully avoided all the attempts to tackle him, running as fast as possible to the goal. The goalkeeper froze, upon noticing the expression on his face.
Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, he struck. With a sudden burst of strength, he kicked the ball, watching as it flew into the goalpost, the goalkeeper just narrowly missing it.
The sudden uproar that erupted was deafening to say the least. His teammates were hugging and whooping, patting him on the back. The exhilarating feeling that came from the win, made him feel lighter, as if he was on cloud nine.
His eyes searched for you, noticing you trying to get past the huge crowd towards him. He quickly navigated his way out of the crowd, making his way towards you. As soon as he was in front of you, he wrapped his arms around your waist, making you squeal, as he picked you up and spun you in the air. His grin was wide, your own grin almost as wide as his. “We won! We actually fucking won! Did you see my last goal? I looked cool right? I still can't believe I actually made the goal–”
In the midst of his yapping, one of your friends was wiping his sweat off for him. While you tried to not let it show, you couldn't help the jealousy that flared inside you at the intimate gesture. You were supposed to do it for him, not her. Riki didn't even seem to notice, too focused on telling you the details — as if you didn't witness it all by yourself.
Unable to bear the sight of her wiping off his sweat with a random towel, you grabbed his hand, pulling him away. You both set into a sprint, away from the people congratulating him.
As soon as you reached a somewhat secluded region of the school, you turned to him, your arms crossed over your chest. But before you could speak, he spoke first, his breathing coming in short pants. “Goddamn woman, I just won a match, you're already making me run again? Cut me some slack, will you?”
You rolled your eyes, ignoring his outburst. “Why did you let her do it?”
He looked at you, confused. “Huh? Let who do what…?”
You gave him an incredulous look. “Her. You let her wipe off your sweat for you — don't tell me that you didn't notice it at all?!”
He still looked confused. “Huh? Someone did that? I didn't even realise — I was talking to you, so I was distracted, I guess. But why does it matter?”
You gave him a pointed look, frustration evident in your eyes. Why wasn't he getting it?! “‘Why does it matter?’ Because I'm your best friend! I always do it for you, so why would you let her do it as well? If I'm your best friend, then shouldn't I get treated as such? Shouldn't I be treated differently from the rest of our friends? Why are you letting her do something that only I do to you?”
His eyes widened, before he frowned. “I didn't even notice her doing it… but if I should treat you differently from the rest of our friends, shouldn't you do the same to me as well? Why should this be a one-sided arrangement?”
Now it was your time to frown. “One-sided? How is this one-sided?! I always treat you differently, how have I ever treated you similar to the rest of our friends?”
He rolled his eyes. “Oh, I don't know, maybe yesterday? When you fixed Jake's hair for him? Since when did you start fixing people's hair other than mine?”
You were at a loss for words. You simply opened and closed your mouth several times, like a fish out of water.
Riki spoke again. “How about this: I pay more attention to my surroundings, while you keep your hands to yourself? Don't go around touching other people's hair, that should be reserved for me only. Do we have a deal?”
You bit the inside of your cheek. “Fine. We have a deal.”
You usually didn't back down from fights that easily. But everything seemed to be different when it involved Riki.
TRUE TO YOUR DEAL, the two of you didn't treat others even remotely similar to how you treated each other anymore. Both of you grew much closer than before. People could easily pick up on the change in the air around the two of you, the shippers going slightly insane. When were the two of you going to announce your relationship officially?
Neither of you paid much attention to those silly rumours, always dismissing the teasing. Friends were allowed to be possessive of each other, were they not? Was it a crime to want some things to be just between you guys, and not for everyone else to know and judge?
Days went by the same, the teasing never stopped. But it was always there from the very beginning of your friendship, not just from classmates, but outsiders and family members as well. Both of you had grown used to it.
Recently, both you and Riki had noticed the trend of wearing hair ties on wrists. While it wasn't an uncommon sight for girls, it certainly was for boys. What do they need a hair tie for, when their hair is so short?
It was quickly discovered that the hair ties were actually of their girlfriends’, them wearing it on their wrists being a sign of commitment — and the general fact that they had a girlfriend.
Of course, it flared jealousy among those who weren't in a relationship — including you and Riki. Both of you glared in resentment at anyone who had a hair tie on their wrist, always greeting them with a bitchy eye roll. Both of you, like every other single person, loved to hate on couples, betting on when they would break up, if they were cheating on their partner, and whatnot. You both were always met with the same responses: ‘Just wait till you get into a relationship.’
Your responses were the same too. The same eye roll, paired with a pissed off comment, either mocking them, or talking about how neither of you would ever bother with dating anyone. Everytime, you both were met with an exchange of amused glances. Neither of you ever understood that they meant when you both would get together.
It started to get unbearable after a while, with almost everyone wearing a hair tie on their wrist. It was frankly starting to annoy Riki a lot, to the point that he snapped at his friends, which was uncharacteristic of him. It was only then that the guys gave him the obvious solution: to wear a hair tie as well.
Wearing a hair tie on his wrist was easier said than done. For Christ’s sake, he didn't have a girlfriend! Why would he wear a hair tie on his wrist, when he didn't have someone's to wear?
But then a crazy thought struck him. He may not have a girlfriend, but he definitely had a girl best friend. You. He could wear your hair tie on his wrist, right?
Turns out, you didn't share the same views as him.
“ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY NOT. Where did you even get this crazy idea from?!”
Riki bit his lip, rubbing his nape sheepishly. “Well — the guys keep teasing me, so I got desperate, and… uhm…”
You pinched the bridge of your nose, closing your eyes, and sighing. “Riki, you're aware that only couples wear hair ties on their wrists, right? We,” You gestured between the two of you. “are not a couple. You wearing my hair tie on your wrist would be indicating that I'm your girlfriend. Which I'm clearly not. Let's not give everyone another incentive to tease us, yea?”
He let out a groan. “Oh, c’mon, who cares what others think? We can just — make an excuse — tell them that I'm wearing it because you keep losing your hair ties, so I'm basically your hair tie holder. How does that sound?”
You gave him an incredulous look. “No one will ever buy that shitty excuse.”
He scowled at you. “Oh, like you could come up with something better.”
You nodded enthusiastically, although it was completely sarcastic. “Of course I can! We forget this conversation! Because we both know what the hair tie would indicate. Not just to others, but between us too.”
He shook his head stubbornly. “I don't care. I'm going to wear one.”
You rolled your eyes. But before you could open your mouth to retort, Riki grabbed the hair tie that you used to meticulously tie your hair into a ponytail and pulled.
You watched in shock, as your hair came undone, your hair tie now in his hand. With a smug smirk, he wore it on his wrist, showing it to you proudly, before going off to his class. “Bye ___! See you after this period!”
Oh, he was definitely going to see you. Maybe two of you or even more, depending on how hard you punch him.
JUST AS EXPECTED, you both were on the receiving end of everyone’s teasing, becoming the new hot topic of your school. No matter how much you both tried to ignore it, it just didn’t work.
Questions about whether you both were secretly dating or not followed you both left and right, comments assuming the status of your relationship were thrown about casually — it was simply too much. None of your friends believed you either, their cheeky smiles and teasing comments following you both everywhere.
All because of Riki’s obsession with wanting to wear your hair tie.
At some point you both got sick of trying to clear up the accusations, just letting people think what they wanted to. After all, their assumptions and comments weren’t going to magically come true, just because they think a certain way.
Right?
THE TEASING HAD GOTTEN TO A POINT WHERE NEITHER OF YOU COULD STAND IT ANYMORE, causing you both to avoid people as much as possible. Did no one understand the concept of personal space anymore? Or did they forget that minding their own damn business would always be more fruitful than trying to gather tea about other people’s love lives, or lack thereof?
Most of the time, you both hung out in the library or rooftop, sometimes even resorting to taking refuge in the janitor’s closet, that’s how much you both were affected by the constant teasing. How come everyone was so damn invested in the love life of you both, when it didn’t even concern them in the slightest?
Today was no different. From the morning, all you both could hear were comments like ‘So when are you guys planning on making it official?’, ‘When will you both drop the bomb?’, ‘Don’t bother lying, it’s too obvious that you both are super into each other.’, etc., etc. Your fist was clenched tightly by your side, Riki’s grip on your waist also tighter than usual. The urge to punch them in the faces was extremely high. When were they going to get bored of teasing you both?
In order to escape them, Woohak steered you through the crowd, escaping into the stairway. The two of you quickly climbed up the stairs, going to the rooftop. You pushed the door to the terrace open, the cold wind whipping in your faces. Riki slammed the door shut behind him using his foot, his hand never leaving your waist.
You went towards the railing, leaning on top of it. Riki finally let go of your waist, leaning on the railing beside you. Neither of you spoke, simply enjoying the feeling of the cool breeze, and the majestic view of the cityscape beneath. The cars and people looked quite tiny from up there, like ants, which was to be expected, given that your school building was eight stories tall.
Suddenly, Riki cleared his throat. He spoke up, his voice low, eyes facing his front. “Do the rumours and the constant teasing bother you too much?”
You snapped your head towards him, your eyebrows furrowed in surprise. “Where is this coming from?”
He looked at you. “You know, the constant questions and comments that are thrown in our way? It just — it got me thinking: ‘What if it all bothered you too much? What if our friendship isn’t worth all the comments and excessive teasing we face?’ Just stuff like that.”
Your eyes widened in shock. “Oh my god — don’t you ever think like that, you hear me? Just because some people like to be annoying and poke their big ass nose in our goddamn business, doesn’t mean our friendship isn’t worth the trouble. Do you really care about other people’s opinions enough to end our friendship? Just like that?”
He quickly shook his head. “No no no, absolutely not — I just thought… actually, nevermind. I thought the rumours were making you uncomfortable, I’m glad I was wrong.”
A hint of a smile crept up your face, as you looked in front of you again. “A few silly comments can never make me break my friendship with you. You’re my best friend, aren’t you? Best friends are supposed to stick together, no matter what. Through thick and thin, all of our ups and downs Riki.”
He looked in front of him again, letting out a scoff, which was supposed to be an amused one, but it came out more bitter than intended. “Yea, best friends… that’s all we'll ever be…”
The last part was quiet, but you still heard it. The tips of your ears burned, a flush creeping up your neck. You quickly tried to change the subject. “L-Let’s try something.”
He furrowed his brows, looking at you again. “Try what?”
You bit your lip, quickly trying to think of something. “Uhm — let’s climb the railing and sit on it! Sounds fun, right?”
He raised a brow. “Absolutely not. That’s the stupidest, and most dangerous idea you’ve ever had, and that’s saying something.”
You pouted. “Come on, it’s not that bad — the railings are sturdy, we won’t fall.”
Riki firmly shook his head. “Nope. You want to climb it? Be my guest. But don’t tell me I didn’t warn you when you fall off and possibly break your leg. Or an arm. Or crack open your skull. Either way, I will say ‘I told you so’.”
You rolled your eyes, beginning to climb it up. “Oh shut up — I’m sure you would love to goad about it, if I fell off. You revel in my misery after all, don’t you–?”
You got cut off by a yelp of your own, your hand slipping. Riki immediately came to your rescue, pulling you off the railing. In complete and utter fear of the sudden momentary lapse of judgement that almost caused you to fall off the roof, you turned around, hugging him tightly.
He held you close, wrapping his own arms around your waist. He could feel your heart beating erratically in your chest, matching his own. He couldn’t believe how stupid and unaware of your surroundings you were.
He glared down at how you buried your head in his chest, in disbelief of your previous actions. You were shaking slightly in his hands, but he didn’t care. “Are you fucking insane?! You knew that was dangerous, why on earth would you still try to climb the damned railings? For the love of god, you could have fallen off and died!”
You meekly raised your head, preparing to retort, before freezing. He was so, so close. You could make out every single detail on his face, every freckle, every pore, every single blemish. Yet, he was so… mesmerizing.
Riki’s heart skipped a beat as he looked down at you. His voice took a softer edge, a gentle note evident in it. “Promise me that you will never…”
Too lost in his eyes, you didn’t hear him. His voice and every other noise faded to the background, your sole focus being on his eyes. They were pulling you in, drowning you in them. Like a siren luring an unsuspecting victim.
Your lips parted slightly, as you kept staring at him, his warm breath fanning your face. He swallowed hard, realizing exactly how close you were. The adrenaline pumping in his veins was fucking with his head, thoughts of what your lips would feel like against his filling his mind. His eyes flickered down to your parted lips, the urge growing, before they quickly darted back up to your eyes, meeting your gaze once again. “Promise me.”
The words seemed to be stuck in your throat, which suddenly felt parched. “I…”
His breath hitched, eyes fixed on your parted lips once again. His heart was still racing, the world seeming to narrow down to just the two of you, standing flush together on the roof. “You…” He whispered, leaning just a fraction closer without realizing it. “You what?” It came out softer than intended, just a barely audible murmur.
You swiped your tongue over your bottom lip, wetting it with your saliva. The words tumbled out of your mouth, without you even realizing it. “God, you’re so pretty…”
Riki’s world seemed to stop, his mind going blank. His grip on your waist tightened slightly. “What did you say?” He whisper-hissed, leaning just a tad bit closer. His gaze flickered down to your lips again. The shift in the atmosphere around the two of you was becoming impossible to ignore, becoming electric with unsaid words and unacted-upon impulses.
You blinked, biting down on your lip. There was no going back now. “You’re pretty…”
His heart skipped a beat, then another, then another. He could barely believe what he was hearing — no one had ever called him ‘pretty’ before. Sure, he had heard other words: handsome, attractive, stunning, eye-catching — but ‘pretty’? Never did he hear that one before. But damn, he would be lying if he said it didn’t make his heart race — probably more than the other praises ever did. It was a word typically reserved for women, but hearing it from you directed towards him? It made his brain short-circuit.
He asked you again, just to confirm. “Pretty?”
You nodded, no longer scared of his reaction. “Very much so.”
He felt his cheeks flush again at the unusual comment. He was blushing, and he never blushed. But everything seemed to be different when he was around you.
His mind was reeling, as he tried to process this new information. You, his best friend, thought he was pretty. He leaned even closer, his lips just a hair breath away from yours now. “You really think I’m pretty?” He whispered, his voice just barely audible.
You gulped, nodding. “Yea — yea, I do.”
His heart started pounding rapidly in his chest, his breathing shallow. He could feel the heat radiating off your body, the closeness of your lips, the way you were looking up at him. It was starting to all fade out into white noise, the sound of his rapidly beating heart in his ears. His eyes zeroed in on your parted lips, and something in him snapped.
Throwing all rational thought out of the window, he closed the barely there gap between your both, softly pressing his lips to yours. Your lips were as soft as a cloud, feeling pillowy against his. The kiss was brief, barely more than a whisper. It was nothing more than a peck, but it was enough to make his heart jump out of his chest, into his throat. When he pulled back, his eyes were as wide as saucers, surprised by his own boldness. “I–”
You didn’t let him complete his sentence. You grabbed his face, cupping it with both hands, pulling his face towards yours again. You kissed him again, with a lot more vigour, pouring out your pent up feelings into the kiss.
He was caught off guard by the sudden intensity of the kiss, but he melted into it. His hands pulled you even closer, as if trying to meld your body into his. He parted his lips, deepening the kiss, as he felt your arms wrap around his neck, pulling you even closer.
One of his hands came up to your face, cupping it, tilting his own to further deepen the kiss. The lack of air was starting to hurt, despite how addicting your lips were. He pulled back slowly, not before gently biting down on your bottom lip, pulling it between his teeth, before letting go of it with a pop.
You felt a little dazed, but still smiled up at him, your eyes slightly hazy and unfocused. He chuckled at your state, planting a kiss on top of your head. “Pretty, huh?”
Your cheeks grew warmer at the teasing undertone in his voice. “Shut up. I meant it, you know.”
His grin grew wider, as he kissed your cheek. “I know. I hope this is a good time to say that I like you? Like, I really fucking like you, I was just scared to confess because of the recent situation… with the excessive teasing and all… and, well, the fear of rejection.”
You hit his arm. “You silly goose — if I didn’t like you back, do you think I would behave the way I do with you? Absolutely not. You’re lucky I put up with your antics, you know.”
He rolled his eyes, although there was a smile on his face, one which he didn’t bother hiding. “You know, the hair tie was just a ploy? I just wanted any potential suitors to back off of you, but I didn’t expect people to react like… that.”
You let out a giggle. “I figured. It was honestly a really cute, albeit smart move on your part. Certainly made everyone back off… only to approach us with a different reason.”
He smiled down at you, his expression utterly lovesick. His eyes were practically resembling hearts. “D’you think if we announced it officially they would finally stop?”
You shrugged. “Probably not. Hopefully yes. But — in order to make it official, you need to ask me first, you know? Learn to be a gentleman, Riki.” The last bit was just you teasing him, something that he caught on to pretty quickly.
He playfully rolled his eyes, before speaking theatrically. “Fine — would you like to do the honour of becoming my girlfriend, ___? Wait no, scratch that — would you make me the happiest man alive by letting me take the position of your boyfriend?”
You scoffed in amusement at his dramatics, before pretending to think. “Take me out on a date first, then I will think of it.”
He gave you a smug grin, a determined glint in his eyes. “Deal.”

A couple months back, my neighbor wanted to get some Spitzhauben hatching eggs for his wife, so he asked me for help finding some good ones, from a good breeder. So I dug around for a bit, since Spitz are a bit of a rare breed, and found a few options that looked decent. One of them happened to be in Michigan with us, maybe a little over an hour from us, so I arranged to go pick them up in person to avoid the stresses of shipping on the eggs.
I picked up a dozen (baker's dozen, she added a few extra just in case), and a half dozen of the Marans eggs for myself (she gave me a discount because fertility hadn't been tested yet, as long as I promised to report growth/hatch rate and update about what comes out) because she claimed to have good quality and her eggs looked to be decent quality. She was really nice, very chatty, and the eggs looked great in person, too.
12 of the spitz eggs hatched, and 3 of the BCM. The BCM chicks looked great but they were being stressed OUT by the quail chicks they were in with, so I snuck them into the brooder with the spitz when I closed up the neighbor's birds one evening while they were out.
I've visited them a few times since, and they've been looking good, but they're finally to an age where on the BCM you can tell sex- perfect ratio, one rooster, two hens.
Now, I used to keep and breed BCM a long time ago. I had wanted to get into showing (never got around to it for several reasons), and I'd dealt with several lines. My original line that I'd mixed from a couple different people always produced REALLY stellar roosters- big lads with sweet, docile personalities that were 100% ready to die for their ladies, whom they always treated well. For roosters, those are all REALLY important qualities. The ideal is a rooster that treats his ladies well, is willing to fight to the death to defend them if something comes after them BUT--- importantly can tell the difference between a predator and a human who is messing with the hens (picking up, moving, treating w/ meds, whatever). Ideally, if a hen makes a noise of distress, the rooster come BOLTING to her at top fucking speed ready to kick ass, but stops dead if he sees it's just a human. And I HAD that- I used to sell the roosters to folks (SELL them, I never had to give away a rooster) as flock protectors, and I would get people coming back to buy another after their guy died defending the girls while free ranging. It's sad, but it's also one of two reasons to have a rooster.
And I see all the time people posting about their mean roosters, about how to handle roosters that are mean to humans, or people telling others oh the rooster is just young and roosters are mean when they're young and they'll mellow out when they get older, just keep putting up with it. Power through.
NO! There is almost* NEVER a reason to tolerate a nasty rooster- one that's mean to the girls, or to humans. This BCM rooster is only a few months old, but you can already see the purpose that's been bred into him. I picked up one of his girls and she went :( and he came RUNNING over to see what was wrong, looked me up and down and went nah that's cool, and then checked on all the other girls. Just in case. I went to move them from their cage to the big play pen that's set up for them, and I thought oh this is going to be a circus, trying to catch them all. The Spitzhauben were acting insane, like I was trying to kill them by looking at them. I braced the carry bin on the edge of the door, expecting to reach in to (try to) grab each bird and put them in. But no. This rooster walked over, got in, called the others, and they all chilled right out, came over and jumped into the bin with him. He's in the playpen right now just watching over all the others. If someone gets into an argument, he runs over and gets between them, and then checks on them both after. When he lies down, the others come lie down with him. On him.
THIS is what a good rooster looks like. Not in a year, not in two years. Right from the getgo, the instincts are all there. Hormones shouldn't eliminate/supercede this behavior- they shouldn't turn a bird into an asshole. They should instigate a second set of rooster behaviors- dancing/courting, tidbitting, and mating attempts. Running girls ragged, pulling feathers, causing injury, attacking people- these are all poor breeding and/or handling problems. These are things that can (and SHOULD) be selected against when breeding fowl
*The "almost" never is that a breeder starting out may not have a choice when it comes to shitty personalities- they may find themselves having to tolerate the least shitty for a few generations, until the personalities show improvement. In this case, most (good) breeders know better than to dump the wash outs on the unsuspecting, and will instead do hard culls for food or sell to folks raising food or who are aware of the personality problems. In any case any tolerance should be an in-progress tolerance, not an endgame result.

pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!reader words: 1,7k summary: You find yourself feeling a little anxious while having sex with Spencer. warnings: smut, bondage, dom!spencer, edging, overstimulation, use of safe word, aftercare a/n: so this actually was the very first one-shot I posted but I accidentally deleted it. I don't wanna talk about it... I reread it and it's honestly kinda good so I thought I might as well just post it again. I'm sorry if you've seen it before (it had like 1000 notes. I'm grieving)
You and Spencer have been dating for a few years now, and somewhere along your sexual journey, you both admitted that exploring rougher sex is something you'd like to try. Things started out easily with activities like blindfolds and tying you up, while still maintaining a sense of tenderness and love.
From there, you experimented with choking, which you enjoyed, and found even more pleasure in having your hands around Spencer's neck. Your boyfriend was also very eager to explore the world of edging and would often have you begging and crying for release before finally letting you cum. And he was also more than happy to let you have him wrapped around your finger.
You didn't understand how he was able to do it. How was he able to hold himself back from giving you what you wanted? He was patient yet greedy. If he wasn't edging you for what felt like an eternity, he was on a mission to overstimulate you. Using not only his mouth and fingers but also toys, he'd have you shaking and crying, begging for him to stop.
In order to ensure both of your safety, you always discussed everything in detail and established safewords or signals for when communication might be difficult. You settled on the simplest system of colors: green if you wanted to continue and everything was good, yellow if you wanted to pause or change what you were doing, and red if you wanted to stop completely.
None of you had ever used the safewords, except for green. Spencer often asked for you to check in and confirm that everything was okay.
One night, when Spencer returned from a very long and tough case, he wanted both of you to indulge in one of his favorite activities: tying you up. You were more than happy to participate and help him take his mind off work. You loved making him feel better and enjoyed seeing him lose himself while he had complete control over you.
As soon as he came back home you both discussed what he wanted and you said that you were okay with everything. He tied you up like that before and you enjoyed every moment. You couldn't wait to repeat that night.
He asked you to get naked and sit on the bed, and you complied, awaiting his plan. He entered the bedroom with a couple of ropes in his hands and skillfully began to wrap them around your body. He positioned your hands behind your back, securing them with the ropes around your breasts to ensure you couldn't move them.
"Is it too tight?" he asked.
"No, it's okay," you confirmed, and he continued. He instructed you to kneel on the bed, and he proceeded to tie your legs together. You could feel yourself getting wet, with him still in his suit and you completely naked before him. His tender yet confident touch drove you insane, even though nothing had happened yet.
"Now, lay down on the bed, face down, ass up," he said sternly, and you obeyed.
Your face pressed against the sheets while your center was up and waiting for him. You tried to shimmy your hips, seeking some friction, but he quickly intervened.
"Stop that," he commanded.
"Sorry," you replied.
"It's okay. Someone's needy."
For a few minutes, he simply stood there, his gaze fixed on you, taking in every inch of your body. Despite his lack of action, your inner walls were already clenching with anticipation, and your breathing grew heavier with each passing moment. You felt an overwhelming need for his touch like never before.
As he stood beside you, you noticed the tent forming in his pants. He was likely just as affected by the situation as you were, yet he showed no outward signs of it.
Suddenly, his hand was on your back, trailing lightly down to your ass and then your thighs. His caresses elicited a moan from you, causing you to instinctively squeeze your legs together. He undoubtedly noticed but chose to ignore it.
Next, he firmly grabbed your ass, squeezing each cheek a few times.
As he finally gave in and stroked your wet folds with only one finger, you couldn't help but whimper.
"So wet for me," he whispered, his gaze fixed on your pussy. He sat beside you, continuing to stroke your heat lightly and slowly, his touch moving from your entrance to your clit with barely any pressure.
"Please," you pleaded, your desire clouding your ability to articulate your wants.
"Please what?" he asked, his voice teasing.
You whimpered again, unable to express your desires clearly. All you knew was that you wanted to climax, and you wanted him to be the one to bring you there.
He began to play with your entrance, teasingly circling the tip of his finger before pushing it a little further inside and curling it. Adding another finger, he placed his thumb on your clit, still maintaining his gentle touch, yet you felt like you were on the brink of falling apart at any moment.
But just as you were on the edge, he stopped and pressed his face against your center, giving it one long lick with his tongue.
"F-fuck," you moaned, your voice trembling with need.
He placed both hands on your ass, squeezing more firmly now as his hot breath washed over your folds. Watching how wet and desperate you were for release, he took a few deep breaths, the contrast of hot and cold air only fueling your hunger as he teased you with his slow pace.
Finally, he put his mouth on your clit and sucked, causing you to moan in ecstasy as the vibrations ran through your body. His tongue danced skillfully over your nub, sending shivers down your spine as you felt yourself nearing the edge. The knot tightened in your stomach, your moans becoming shorter and more urgent, signaling to him just how close you were.
You prayed silently that he would let you cum in his mouth, allowing you to ride out your orgasm against his face, feeling his lips against you as you reached the peak of pleasure. You longed for him to lick up every drop of your release and then kiss you deeply, letting you taste yourself on his lips.
But just as you were on the brink of ecstasy, he stopped abruptly, leaving you groaning in frustration. How much longer was he going to keep you waiting?
Before you could gather your thoughts, he unzipped his pants, releasing his throbbing erection, desperate to finally feel you. He wasted no time, standing behind you and filling you completely. As he slid in effortlessly and your walls clenched around him, he moaned in pleasure, relishing the sensation of being completely engulfed by you.
Pulling out and thrusting back in with a quick pace, he leaned in to kiss your spine, his arms wrapping around your waist as he maintained a steady rhythm. "You feel... so... good..." he murmured against your skin between gentle kisses, his hands finding yours, still bound behind your back.
"Spencer," you moaned, sending a shiver of pleasure down his spine. He grunted and gasped, his hands tightening on your hips as he buried himself deeper in your core, grinding against you.
But suddenly, a surge of emotions overwhelmed you. It all felt like too much, and you struggled to catch your breath, not in a good way. Tears welled up in your eyes as you whispered his name, your voice trembling with unease. "Spencer..."
"Yellow" you whispered, and he immediately pulled out, concern etched on his face as he appeared before you.
"Is everything okay? What is it? Do you want to stop?"
Tears streamed down your cheeks.
"Hey, it's okay," Spencer said, gently wiping your face. "I'll untie you, okay?" You nodded and allowed him to guide you to a sitting position. As you sat on your heels, he skillfully worked the ropes around your body, your breathing evening out as you tried not to feel foolish for interrupting.
"I'm sorry," you whispered.
"About what? You have nothing to be sorry about. I'm glad you told me," Spencer reassured you.
"Yeah, but I was feeling good... before... earlier, and then just... I don't know what happened."
"It's okay. I just want you to feel good. I'm happy you told me that it didn't feel right anymore."
With your hands now free, you hid your face in them while Spencer gently helped you to sit on the edge of the bed and untied your legs. Then, he inspected your skin for any signs of marks from the ropes.
Once he was satisfied, he cupped your face and whispered, "I'll bring you some water." You nodded and curled up on the bed, glancing at your wrists and ankles - relieved to see barely any signs of the ropes. Thankfully, Spencer knew what he was doing, and you hadn't been tied up long enough to leave big marks.
When he returned with a glass of water, he handed it to you and draped a blanket around your shoulders. You took a few sips while Spencer undressed, discarding his clothes and throwing on a T-shirt.
Sitting beside you, he wrapped his arm around you, offering his comfort and the warmth of skin-to-skin contact. You sat together like that for a while, his hand resting on your knee, silently reassuring you that he was there for you and would do anything to make you feel better.
"I'm sorry," you whispered again.
Spencer looked at your face. "I'm not upset... or mad, okay?"
You nodded. "I don't know why I said yellow. I thought maybe... I don't know."
"Did you maybe get overwhelmed?"
"Yeah... I think so..."
He kissed your temple and hugged you tighter. "I'm glad you told me to stop. I always want you to tell me if something is wrong. I'll never get upset. I promise you that."
"Okay... thank you."
"How about a bath? To clean you up and maybe help you feel a little better? And if you said yellow because you still want to finish tonight, we can continue later, only if you'll want to, okay?"
"Okay. A bath does sound good," you smiled softly.

I am fully convinced that so many major "puritanical" figures of myth and history--from Hippolytus Son of Theseus to John Harvey Kellogg--would not just be better explained but better understood if folks just took the time to consider that asexuality exists as more than just a Non-Sexuality. Treating it like a Non-Sexuality, like a Non-Thing, takes away the agency of preference and sense of self. It takes away the ability for its existence to be used as an explanation for human motivation. The same way love--and lust--are some of the oldest motivators for every possible human story ever written, asexuality-- a weak or lack of innate sexual attraction--has just as much power to motivate someone for or against certain actions as sexuality might. Why were these people so confused by, and confusing to, their greater public? Why were they so heart-set on certain ideals that seemed so natural to them, but unnatural to others? What in them motivated them to take up the mantle of lives that seemed so difficult to other people? Why do we seek out heat when we're cold? Or avoid food when we're not hungry? Sure, God is an answer. Purity. Chastity. But those are decisions and ideals, decisions that some people find quite hard to make, and others find quite easy. The whole story of Hippolytus is that he was so "pure" and, in an essay I wrote some years ago now, asexual that even the gods noticed. It was a part of him that was unbelievable to his peers, so they thought he was lying. They think: he must be protesting too loudly, denying all the things he must do because everyone wants to do those things. The high regard he had with Artemis in his story tells us, the reader, that he wasn't. She wouldn't be so easily fooled. He was just *like that*. And, damn, as a character, he's obnoxious and misogynistic about how easy it is to stay chaste, and how much he just doesn't understand why it's seemingly so hard for others. He's as blind to the individuality of his own preferences as the people who accuse him are to their own. I like to think I wasn't nearly so puritanical but so much of his story sounded a lot like when I thought I was a Good Christian Married To The Lord and No One Else Who Didn't Even Need A Purity Ring To Remind Me Of My Promise (when, it turned out, I was just aroace. Religious chastity is a good outlet for getting to stop asking why you don't date. I was, on all other accounts, a terrible Christian. Worse now because I'm gladly and gleefully not one at all, anymore.)
I dunno. I don't mean to derail your post. But I really do think we should consider the Maergarets of our past more often. It might explain some things.
There were probably some medieval asexuals that were absolutely insufferable on their moral high horse about it. Like "this modesty shit easy - I haven't lusted over any man ever in my life and only fuck my husband out of duty from God and only so that we have children. I am so much better than any of you hoes."
And some other local goodwife would get sick of this and go "well obviously you don't have time for cock, Maergaret, since you're always too fucking busy choking on your own vanity and pride!" and have a smackfight that progresses into a full-on two-woman brawl in the town square. People gather around to watch this until a clergyman shows up to remind everyone that not only is this kind of brawl between good christians definitely a sin, it's also a sin for everyone who's watching to place bets on who's going to win.

Before London
I check my phone, 6:30AM. Way too early for anything, let alone a meeting. Climbing into my Jeep, I pull out of the parking lot onto the road, only to come to a sudden stop, my foot stepping on the break before I can think. Standing there, in the early morning sun painting her skin golden, is Izara, holding her phone and tapping her heeled foot on the ground impatiently. She’s in a black sheath dress that hugs her body all the way down to her ankles, not too tight to be inappropriate, but snug in just the right places to leave me wanting more. There’s a thick leather belt on her waist, the golden buckle matching her earrings perfectly. Naturally she looks perfect, the slight frown on her face only making her more beautiful.
I pull up next to her, rolling down the passenger window.
“Yo, Zari!”
She jumps before finally seeing me, her hard face softening.
“Oh my goodness, you scared me,” the girl chuckles, her hand on her chest from the surprise. “What are you doing up this early?”
“I gotta meeting, some promo stuff,” I explain. “Where you headed?”
Zari looks around and I can tell she’s growing frustrated, letting out an annoyed laugh. “Well I’m supposed to be heading to work but my Uber isn’t here and isn’t answering any calls or anything,” she complains. “I’m literally about to be late, and Linda is going to murder me with her own, cold hand-”
“Woah, woah, we’re a mess here but we don’t do that even in America,” I laugh, reaching over to push the door open for Izara. “Lemme drive you Iz.”
She thinks for a while, looking around and finally sighing in defeat, climbing gracefully into my Jeep.
“Are you sure you have time?” She asks, concerned as she crosses her legs and locks eyes with me. Like clockwork, my chest begins to pound, but I let it. I don’t wanna look away from the green of her pupils just yet.
“You going to the Wings office building?” I ask, leaning against my seat. The girl nods.
“That’s perfect, I was going that way already,” I lie, knowing it was 20 minutes in the opposite direction. But I couldn’t leave Izara in trouble, and she seemed so worried with that frown on her face. This is worth being late for.
“Thank you darling, you’re an angel. Really.” Zari sighs in relief, reaching over to pat my forearm. The goosebumps are immediate, spreading all over my body as I pull into the next lane.
My eyes flicker from the traffic to her, and my stomach begins to twist. The other day I was beating myself up over being an idiot around her, and now I got this girl in my car, humming to the Drake song that’s playing. Say something charming, quick.
“You always dress so fancy,” I say, leaning back with one hand on the wheel, the other on my lap. It almost comes out like an insult. Great.
“Is that bad?” Izara quickly replies, turning her head to me. From my peripheral vision I can see the glimmer in the corner of her eye, she’s joking. In my head I pat myself on the back for finally learning her cues.
Grinning, I shrug and lick my lower lip. “I dunno, I think you should be dressing in basketball shorts and sports bras like the rest of us.”
“You think I could pull that off?” Her tone is coy, teasing. Almost… flirty? No, I’m imagining.
“You know you could,” I murmur, mouth going dry at the thought of her in such little clothing before me.
She laughs, nose scrunching up as she does. “I’m not so sure. I don’t have abs like you.”
My palms grow clammy against the wheel at her words, the idea of Zari watching me close enough to notice my body in that way leaving me tongue tied.
“Uh, well, not everyone can I guess,” I mumble, my voice shakier than I’d like. I should’ve said something else - like how I think she looks gorgeous, how the softness of her stomach only made me want to kiss all over it on my way down, to take my time with her. Okay, maybe not that part.
The car falls silent, the motor humming constantly in the background, interrupted only by the Summer Walker and Drake song playing through the stereo.
Staring out the window, Zari begins to softly sing along, barely audible but just enough for me to notice.
“Girls can't never say they need it, girls can't never say now, give it to me like you need it, baby, want you to hear me screaming, heavy breathing,I don't need a reason, baby.”
The dirty lyrics spilling from her lips contrasting with her poise and elegance make my mind spin, a burn igniting somewhere deep in my abdomen.
“Didn’t take you for a Drake girl,” I smirk, turning the song up for her.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Zari scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Well, you don’t seem like someone who listens to rap,” I admit.
“What do I seem like then?”
“Like you listen to classical music or,” I think for a while. “Well I dunno some classy shit. Whatever British people listen to.”
Zari laughs, shaking her head. “Would you believe me if I say British people are just like you?”
I join her laughter. She had a point.
“Anyway, my brother loves Drake. His biggest fan, I swear,” Izara adds, sliding the sunglasses from her forehead to her face as the sun rises in the horizon, colouring the sky with a pink hue.
“Nope, that’s me,” I answer competitively.
Izara turns to me, a wide smile spread across her face. “You’d get along. You’re kinda similar actually.”
“Oh yeah? What’s his name?”
“Kiran.”
There’s a hint of longing in the girl’s voice, head turning to look out the window again.
“You miss him?” I ask carefully.
She nods. “A lot.”
“He watch hoops?”
Zari laughs, her mood instantly lifting. “He does, he thinks you’re hot.”
I scrunch my face, shaking my head. “Yeah, Ion swing that way. Sorry.”
“That’s what I told him,” the girl chuckles.
I glance at her, still unsure about which way she swung. Usually it went two ways with the straight girls - either they assumed I was into them and made it very clear they didn't want me, avoiding my gaze, flinching when I touched them or they got overly flirty, getting some sort of power trip by assuming I wanted them. With Izara, I wasn’t sure.
“You just need some, someone that's calm and patient, submission, domination,” we sing together, making the girl sitting next to me giggle as our voices blend together. Maybe she wasn’t straight.
“Arched back, deep stroke, white wine, Weed smoke, that's my best combination, You just need some dick with no complications,” I hum by myself now, Zari going quiet, too modest to match the lyrics. As my eyes flicker to her I realise I’m causing her to blush, the pink of her cheeks spreading all over her face. I think she’s flustered. Maybe not straight.
I push further, continuing to sing casually as my free hand rests on my shorts, tapping the rhythm, wondering if she was watching me beneath the dark sunglasses hiding her green emerald eyes. “How 'bout I just take my time? You call up my line, I fall up inside you, Girls need love, too, I know.”
Her chest is heaving, and her throat bobs as she swallows, fidgeting on her seat into a more comfortable position. She is flustered. Definitely not straight.
“You aight?” I ask, trying my best to bury the growing grin on my face. I got her squirming on her seat, me, just by singing. I mean I knew my singing was good but damn (or more likely it was the lyrics but whatever).
Zari clears her throat, chuckling awkwardly. “It’s just so hot all the time,” she sighs, rubbing her chest and avoiding my gaze as we reach the office building.
“Yeah,” I agree, eyes locked on her side profile, parking the car by the front entrance.
Finally, the dark haired girl turns to me, lifting the sunglasses off her face. There she is, those green eyes that made me feel intimidated and comforted all at once.
“Thank you so much again love,” she smiles and I can feel myself melting away.
“Anytime Iz, forreal.”
Our eyes lock just for a second longer than might be considered casual, until she lowers her gaze to my neck. Zari’s long, slender fingers reach over, dragging across my neck as she fiddles with my chain, fixing it with gentle hands. Her long nails scratch softly against my skin as she does so, sending jolts across my body, all the way to each finger and each toe. I nearly choke as she holds the cross between her fingertips admiring it for a moment, before her other hand pulls some of my hair caught underneath the chain free. I can hear my pulse in my ears.
“The lock was showing,” Zari hums pulling away. It takes everything in me not to pull her back in, so instead I squeeze the wheel underneath my hands till my knuckles go red.
“O-oh,” I mumble in a hushed tone from the way I was trying to keep my breathing under control. “Th-thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” the girl smiles as if oblivious to the effect she’s having on me. I wonder if she really is.
As she climbs out, her phone falls off her lap to the floor of my car. I quickly pick it up for her, glancing at the screen as I do.
Jasper 3 missed calls
“Oh oops, thank you,” Zari smiles, grabbing the phone from my hand, not seeing the way I was eyeing the screen. “Have a good meeting Paige.”
“You too,” I smile, following her with my gaze until she’s inside.
Jasper huh. Maybe she was straight after all. Rubbing my jaw, I pull back into the highway, squirming on my seat as my thighs press together. My mind is spinning, still feeling the tingles of Zari’s touch on my neck, her fingernails dragging against my skin. The goosebumps are travelling straight to my core.
“Shit,” I mumble to myself, feeling the way I was dripping into my boxers, hand on my thigh itching to travel into my shorts, to swirl in my folds at the thought of Izara touching me like that. Not now Paige, later.
Glancing at the clock I realise I’m already nearly late to my meeting. Fuck it, worth it. As long as I got that girl to work on time.
-
Jasper had called me five times. FIVE TIMES in 24 hours. I had been on edge since yesterday, the pain in my shoulders growing more tense. Frankly, I was surprised by the fact I still had any teeth left from all the teeth grinding I’d been doing. I needed to disconnect, turn my phone off and have a self-care day. So I’d found myself at the communal gym in the apartment building before work, 30 minutes of stairmaster and some lifting bound to get my mind off things.
“4, 5, 6, 7… 8…” I count to myself, doing back extensions as I hold a plate weight against my chest. Sweat dripping down my back, I climb off the machine and place the weight down, nothing in my mind but the burn in my upper back.
“Mornin’” I hear a familiar voice from behind me, hoarse with sleep still. My head snaps back and it’s exactly who I expected it to be. Paige, in grey basketball shorts and a navy blue Uconn tee, slightly too small, apparent from the way it fits tightly around her shoulders and arms. Her eyes are still red and puffy from sleep.
Suddenly I feel the need to check myself in the mirror, tightening my ponytail and fixing the pink lululemon set hoping the blonde doesn’t notice. I wish I’d worn a bit of makeup. Still, I feel relieved when I see her. I could use a friend right now.
“Oh good morning!” I smile, taking a sip of my water bottle. “Don’t you have a weight room at College Park?”
Paige scoffs looking around offended. “Wow, I can leave if you want me to.”
I giggle like a schoolgirl, my hand subconsciously landing on her arm as I laugh. I feel it flex underneath my touch, surprisingly muscular.
“No, no, I’m glad to see you. Just surprised,” I say, pulling back, watching a grin grow on the taller girl’s face.
“The AC’s still broke so,” the blonde explains, looking around the gym. “You doing upper body?”
“I am,” I hum, walking towards the weights, my eyes flickering to Paige’s reflection in the mirror. It was insane how she had clearly just rolled out of bed, no makeup, hair slicked back in a ponytail and still she looks great.
“Same, same,” she mumbles, watching closely as I stretch my arms and wrists to prepare. “Can I join you?”
“Sure,” I say smiling. “Shoulder press?”
“You got it,” Paige agrees, grabbing a bench and setting it up for us. “Ladies first.”
I laugh again, planting myself on the bench with a set of 15s. To my shock Paige grabs them from my hands, giving me a pair of 20s instead.
“Paigeuh!” I complain but she shakes her head.
“C’mon, I’mma be your personal trainer,” she grins, standing behind me and meeting my eyes in the mirror. Her hands land on my shoulders, rubbing gently, immediately easing the pain there. I nearly moan, forgetting my surroundings for a moment.
“Look at these shoulders,” she says, squeezing the muscles there. “You can do the 20s Iz. I’ll spot you.”
She sounds so sure, so confident that I have no other choice but to feel confident too, picking up the weights and getting into position.
“Gimme eight.”
Nodding, I begin to do one rep after another, a shake in my arms already visible on the fifth. I focus on trying to keep a straight face on the sixth, Paige notices my struggle and places her fingers underneath my elbows, sparks shooting up my arms.
“I gotchu, two more.”
Something about her touch, her belief in me powers me through it. After two more reps, the blonde grabs the weights from me.
“Holy shit,” I gasp, rubbing my forehead. Paige chuckles, looking at my reflection.
“Ion think I’ve ever heard you swear before,” she says, making me laugh.
“Well lucky you I guess we’re really friends now,” I reply, meeting her blue eyes in the mirror. She’s biting on her bottom lip, staring, hand resting on my shoulder.
“You’re tense as hell, yknow?” Paige laughs, feeling my shoulders. My skin burns underneath her touch and I know it’s because it’s been a while since I’ve had anyone that near. It feels good to be touched. Even by a friend.
I nod. “I know.”
Furrowing her brows, the blonde begins to massage my stiff shoulders, so gently I feel like a baby bird in her hands, the way her thumbs dig into my muscles ever so slightly. My eyes fluttering shut, I hum compliantly, feeling my muscles begin to relax under her touch.
“Is this okay?” Paige whispers, her voice merely audible.
“Mhm,” I murmur. “A little harder is okay too.”
I hear a heavy exhale from behind me when the blonde’s fingers press deeper, massaging against my upper back, moving upwards to the sides of my neck. Goosebumps travel all over me. I feel a familiar burn, a faint memory of a feeling from the past spreading over my upper thighs and lower abdomen, stirring within me.
“Like this?”
Her voice is gravelly, a soft mutter on her lips. I feel myself melting underneath her touch, a heat pooling between my legs from the skilled way she works my muscles. I could tell she was skilled with her hands, just from the sure, confident way in which she moves against me..
All of a sudden I hear the door go, and I know the blonde hears it too as her hands retract, both our gazes turning to the entrance where another neighbour walks in, greeting politely.
“Hello,” I smile, my voice coming out soft. My mind spins as I grab the weights again, ready for a second round. But part of me is distracted by the stirring in my stomach, still apparent, still distracting. I watch Paige settle behind me, her face even redder than mine.
“Ready?” She asks, our gazes locking. I lift the weights, preparing for the movement.
“Ready.”
-
“Give me two more please,” I encourage the blonde girl, her mouth shut tight in a narrow line, brows furrowed in concentration as she stands beside me, staring into the mirror, shaking her head.
“Ahh shit,” she breathes, hissing as her arms shake, not able to bring the next bicep curl further than halfway.
“C’mon, two more,” I demand, placing my fingertips underneath her wrists, fooling the blonde’s brain that I’m helping. It’s enough for Paige to finish two more reps, letting out a relieved groan as she places the weights down.
“You’re tryna kill me Iz,” she groans, rubbing her sweaty face with her hand, veins becoming more prominent from the strain.
“Nope! Just knew you could do better,” I smile, grabbing my smaller set of weights for my final rep. My body felt exhausted in the best way, all my worries completely forgotten. In the mirror I can see the baby hairs curling around my face, spilling out from my high pony, sweat dripping from my neck, down my chest, between my cleavage. Eyes flickering to Paige, I notice her gaze on my ass as she settles to stand behind me, but I don’t think much of it.
“Alright, let’s go,” Paige smiles, meeting my stare in the mirror.
Picking up the weights, I begin to do my bicep curls. One, two. On the third one I’m already struggling, making me huff and subconsciously swing my hips ever so slightly to help my hands curl all the way.
The blonde tuts behind me, her hands finding my waist with ease, holding tight. It surprises me enough that I nearly drop the weights.
“Watch your core Iz,” Paige murmurs, meeting my gaze in the mirror. Her front is hovering just an inch away from my back, radiating with heat and electricity as her hands drag around to the exposed skin of my upper abdomen. “Squeeze here,” Paige whispers, her touch moving downwards and sideways to the sides of my hips. “And here.”
Lips slightly parted, I nod, my chest positively heaving now. Focusing on flexing my core muscles, I keep doing reps with a newfound focus. Though the way my body tingles is distracting, making my head swirl.
“That’s it,” Paige coos, her arms snaking around to help me with the last few reps, hands supporting my wrists. For some reason, an involuntary trembling breath spills from my mouth as she inches closer, the curve of my ass pressing against her. I suppose I’m just not used to this sort of closeness with my friends yet.
“Aaaand eight, yes ma’am!” The blonde grins, grabbing the weights and setting them back for me, brushing closer to my back before walking off. The loss of contact brings me back from the swirling thoughts in my head, as I blink and take in my surroundings, and the blonde girl in front of me. I notice the way her biceps have grown from the strain, arms covered in veins and glistening with sweat.
“That was so good,” I sigh, throwing my arm over my face as I try to catch my breath. Paige holds up her hand, and I high five it with a giggle.
“Good?!” She calls out. “You a masochist or sum?”
I scoff, a little taken aback by the crude question. “Rude!” I laugh, red in the face and playfully shove the blonde off. She’s barely affected, my push not hard enough to shake her from her stand.
“You got work?” Paige asks, sipping on her water, jaw prominent as she throws her head back. The veins on her hand are still popping, wrapped around the bottle.
“Uhh, yes. But I do have to shower first.”
“You need a ride?”
I shake my head, she already drove me once. That has to be enough.
“Oh no thank you,” I smile, walking towards the exit, the blonde following at my heel and opening the door for me.
“You sure? I don’t mind,” Paige asks again, more insistent. Like she wants to. But I couldn’t let her.
“No, no, I promise.”
-
“So, how’s Dallas?” KK’s voice comes through my speaker. I’m sitting by my cubby at College Park Center, still half empty. Part of me refused to leave my stuff here, to decorate, to make it home. But I was slowly trying to change things around, forcing myself to place some sports bras and shorts on the top shelf. That would be a start.
“Uhh, it’s Dallas,” I murmur, brushing through my hair, still damp from my post practice shower.
“You forgettin’ us already?” The girl on the phone teases, making me scoff as I tie my shoes back on.
“Y’all wouldn’t let me.”
“You right girl,” KK replies. I pack my Nike bag, throwing on a black hoodie over my sports bra and shorts. Practice had run late and I’d spend my time in the shower, trying to revise plays, my arms killing me from the workout earlier.
“You try barbecue yet?” The girl asks. She had texted me ten minutes ago, claiming it was an emergency. Ever since I called she’d been asking me trivial questions about everything she could think of - clearly me and her had different definitions of emergency.
“Not yet, haven’t been out much actually,” I admit, grabbing the phone where it’s set on the shelf, KK’s face taking up the screen, watching me.
“Well I was gon ask if Dallas has hot girls but guess you haven’t seen em then.”
I laugh, throwing the bag over my shoulder. “Well, actually…” I start, a small grin growing across my face.
“Yo, I see that grin P Boogers!” KK gasps. “You haven’t told me about no girl.”
I put my hands up in defeat, mouth twisting into a tight smile. “Nah, it’s not worth mentioning. She ain’t even from here. She’s British.”
“Whatttt???? She hot?”
“She’s fine, way outta my league.”
The girl on the phone scoffs, her expression turning serious. “You’re not funny.”
“I’m forreal!” I laugh. “She’s classy. Bro she drinks wine.”
“Damn, so she’s grown. Didn’t you say sumn about being celibate?” KK asks, making me groan.
I rub my face, walking out of the dressing room into the confusing hallways of College Park Center. First left, then right, I tell myself, KK’s voice echoing around the narrow corridor.
“Nahhh don’t remind me. I was outta my mind after that Natty win,” I reply, opening door after another to get out of the building.
“So what’s her nameeee, send a pic,” the girl says, her voice coy.
“I think she’s straight,” I scoff, walking through another door.
KK cackles loudly. “Like that’s stopped you before.”
“Alright, bye now.”
“Wait wait, I miss you,” the younger girl pouts. God, if she knew how bad I missed her. Missed all of them.
“Miss you too KK, y’all gotta come visit soon.”
“Yea, love you.”
“Love you, bye.”
I hang up, the silence echoing around me tugging at my heartstrings. But before I let the sadness wash over me, I’m met with Izara standing in a corridor by the exit, tapping away at her phone.
“Oh, hey Paige,” she smiles widely when she spots me, wearing a long black skirt and a sleeveless white turtleneck, looking beautiful as ever. Of course, what else would you expect?
“Hey Iz,” I smile, walking over to her. “You heading out?”
She nods, showing me her phone. “About to Uber,” the girl replies. With a roll of my eyes I open the door, nodding my head toward the open air where the sun was beginning to set.
“No, Paige, I couldn’t,” she complains but I’m too stubborn to give up.
“Don’t make me hold this heavy ass door open more than I need to,” I complain, still feeling the burn in my biceps and shoulders from the earlier workout. “We both going home anyway.”
With a dramatic scoff, Izara admits defeat, walking past me. I follow her, watching as the orange light of the setting sun paints us both warm and golden.
“Yeah I thought so,” I hum confidently, mostly to myself.
Zari’s hand pushes my arm playfully. “I only said yes because you seemed so pitiful,” she claims, head held high as always. My heart grows warm when the girl comes to a halt before her door, so used to me opening them for her already. I do so, knowing I was pleasing her. Good. I could easily be her friend knowing I got to have these moments to please her. That’s all I needed.
We pull out of the parking lot, serenaded by the R&B songs playing in the car, too drained and hungry after the long day to talk. But it felt comfortable, I had missed this. Having someone to just be quiet with.
The silence between us is soon interrupted, this time Zari’s stomach rumbling. Guess she was as hungry as I was.
“Shit, sorry,” she chuckles, covering her face with embarrassment. I laugh too, finding it endearing, the way she was always so confident and together but letting me see her flustered. “I didn’t have time to eat lunch, Linda had a surprise meeting with me.”
I glance at the girl. “Good news?”
She nods with a grin. “Yes, she liked the video I made. My first solo project. The one we filmed at your first practice?”
I smile too, the lightness of relief in her voice something I must not have heard before. “That’s awesome Iz, not that I’m surprised.”
From the corner of my eye, I watch as she turns her body to me.
“You know, only my family calls me Iz. Well Izzie. And some childhood friends,” she starts. “And you now, I guess.”
“I-is that okay?” I ask, not even realising I’d come up with another nickname all on my own.
She thinks for a while, a coy smile spreading on her face. “Yes, it is. I like it.”
“Well Iz, you wanna pick up a lil something to eat? I’m starving.”
The girl looks at me clearly mulling it over in her head.
“Ion wanna mess up your plans, but you shouldn’t have to cook every day.”
She sighs, nodding. “Okay.”
“Okay… And I’m payin.”
“Paigeuh!”
“C’mon, let’s celebrate your big win.”
-
“I can’t believe they do take-away ribs here,” Izara chuckles, holding both of our meals while I park the car, pulling up in a desolate parking lot. The sun had long set, turning the sky black and filling it with stars.
“They don’t do that in London?” I ask.
“I don’t know, I don’t really eat ribs,” the girl admits. Turning to her about to grab my food, my eyes skim her top, the way it hugs her breasts tight, the way the white fab- wait. White.
“Uh Iz?”
“Yeah?”
I clear my throat, frustrated that I hadn’t thought it through.
“Ribs are probably the messiest food ever, and you’re wearing white,” I murmur, making the girl glance down at herself.
“No no, don’t worry. I’m a very neat eater,” Izara chuckles lightheartedly but I shake my head.
“Nah, you don’t get it. It don’t matter, you’re gon make a mess.”
Unbuckling my seatbelt, I reach into the backseat and pull out a large black t-shirt from my bag, handing it to the girl.
“You want me to put this on?” Izara questions, holding it in her hand disbelievingly.
“Ion want your pretty shirt to get ruined,” I tell her, our eyes meeting. “It’s clean, I promise.”
Hesitantly, the girl pulls it over her head, careful not to mess up her hair and makeup. Seeing the way the shirt, my shirt, swallows her whole, the way it drapes over her body makes me swoon. And I know I’m staring but I can’t look away, or kill the smile spreading across my face from the flutters growing in my chest.
Izara looks down, letting out a small chuckle. “Alright, guess I’m ready to eat.”
“You look it,” I laugh, handing her the smaller portion of ribs, and the side of mashed potatoes.
“So… how do I do this?” She asks almost shyly, looking at the meat drenched in sauce.
“You just gotta go for it ma,” I encourage her, the nickname spilling without any intention or thought as I grab a rib and bite into it, the sauce already dripping down my chin, making the girl next to me laugh.
“You already made a mess!” She snorts, covering her mouth with her hand as she giggles.
I shrug, taking another bite, the savoury flavour soothing my hunger already.
“C’monn, don’t be shy,” I cheer, mouth full of food. Finally, the girl takes a tiny nibble off the corner, careful not to mess up her face.
“Yo did I give you my shirt for nothing? Bite into it Iz.”
Rolling her eyes the dark haired girl finally opens her pretty mouth wider, taking a proper bite. I clap my hands, making even more of a mess on all my fingers. Izara dabs a napkin around her mouth gently, wiping the sauce off before speaking.
“That’s… Really good,” she admits. I nod knowingly, taking another bite, which makes the girl beside me laugh once again.
“Oh god, how’d you manage to get it on your nose Paige,” she giggles, shaking her head at me. “I didn’t know you were such a messy eater.”
“Oh you got no idea,” I grin, wiping my nose on a tissue. Izara, however, is too busy eating to pick up on my implied meaning. Soon, her face is covered in brown sauce too, as we take turns laughing at one another.
“This is my sensory hell,” she whines, eyeing her sticky hands. “I’m overwhelmed.”
“Hollup, hollup,” I snicker, grabbing a tissue with my clean hands and leaning over. Ever so carefully, I hold her chin, wiping as softly as I can - not because she feels vulnerable or weak, but because I’m afraid if I do it too harshly I might disrupt her and make her go away. I didn’t want her to.
Izzie bats her eyes, looking everywhere but my gaze until I’m done. A soft blush radiates her cheeks until I finally pull away, fingertips tingling from the contact. Clearing her throat, the girl interrupts the moment.
“How’s your mac n cheese?” She asks, pointing to the side in my takeaway box.
“So good,” I say. “You wanna try?”
She hesitates. “Is that okay?”
Rolling my eyes I grab a forkful of the macaroni oozing with cheese, feeding it to the girl without thinking much more about the gesture. Only when our eyes lock as her mouth spreads open for me, my heart begins to pound in my chest. Her plump, wide lips wrapping around the fork. That familiar heat begins to pool between my legs again. Shit. I quickly pull away, looking down, listening to the satisfied hum from the girls mouth.
“Oh wow. That’s the best mac n cheese I’ve ever had.”
“Yeah?” I ask with a grin, watching her lit up face as she nods.
“Yes.”
“Let’s switch then,” I say confidently, taking her mashed potatoes and handing the dark haired girl my side instead.
“No, Paige don’t be silly,” she resists, but I remain stubborn.
“Already done.”
Izara smiles gratefully, taking another bite of the macaroni and humming with joy as she eats it. I didn’t like mashed potatoes much, but it was all worth it to see her face gleaming like this.
The girl goes quiet for a while, watching the cars outside driving by before she speaks.
“Thank you Paige,” she softly says. “I’ve had such a bad couple of days, you made me forget all about it.”
My heart aches, I wanna wrap her up in my arms and pull her in - but it seems a little too much even for me so I remain still, eyes locked on her leaning on the passenger seat in my t-shirt.
“Jasper?” I ask, maybe reaching but too curious not to say anything.
Her brows are furrowed, her catlike eyes flickering to me.
“I didn’t mean to look but saw the missed calls yesterday, sorry,” I admit. Taking it in, Izzie looks out the window again, letting out a deep sigh.
“Yeah, Jasper.”
“Ex-boyfriend?” I continue to question.
The girl fiddles with her rings. “Something like that.”
I kiss my teeth, turning to look out the window too.
“Figures, seen my friends get fucked over men like that all the time.”
She scoffs, licking her lips. “How’d you know it was him who did the fucking over?”
“You don’t seem like the type,” I say gently, eyes flickering to her. “You don’t move to Dallas, Texas over anything small.”
“Or maybe I’m running away,” she suggests, making me shake my head.
“I dunno about that Miss Schedule,” I chuckle carefully. “Besides, men have a way of doing that.”
Her brows furrow and she meets my gaze. “Women do too, you know.”
Bursting into a single laugh, I feel amused at her words. Like she’d know anything about it.
“How’d you know?”
“I’ve dated women.”
Oh.
Holdup.
So you’re telling me, the girl next to me isn’t straight? That my initial suspicions weren’t just hopeless wishes of an extremely horny person. No, she’s bi. Of course she’s bi, there’s no way a straight woman could dress like she does, have the charisma she does.
Suddenly my mind is swirling around the memories of each glance, each time our hands grazed one another, each praise that spilled from Izzie’s lips, each time my eyes flickered to her to only find that she’s already watching. Suddenly it all means more. Oh fuck, what am I doing.
“Youuu… okay there?” Izara asks, her tone uneasy.
I finally snap out of it. “Uh, yeah. Sorry. I had no idea, I just assum-”
“Don’t worry, people usually think I’m straight,” she laughs it off easily, but I can tell it’s bothering her a little. My reaction.
“My bad, I shouldn’t have assumed,” I say sheepishly.
“It’s not your fault, truthfully, I don’t even know if I still am or if it was just a phase.”
Oh.
Surely she would’ve felt it too, the electricity between us. The way it felt the moment our eyes met, when we touched. Surely that would be plenty of confirmation for her sexuality. Unless it was just me feeling it. Fuck, who cares. I’m celibate, I’m happy, I’m going to be Rookie of The Year and I’m not gonna worry about girls. Even ones as perfect as Izara.
“You take an Uber to work every day?” I ask to change the topic.
“I’ve got to. I don’t have a license here. Or a car,” Izzie answers, making me scoff.
“I can drive you, easy,” I suggest.
The dark haired girl shakes her head, meeting my eyes. Challenging me.
“Absolutely not. That’s final.”
“Izzie, c’mon. We go to the same place most days anyway. Lemme drive you,” I insist but she won’t budge, her eyes as hard as her stance on the topic. That is until I find the magic word.
“Please,” I plead, softening my tone.
Her eyes soften, and with a final sigh I know I’ve got her.

message loading below.. thank you all for tagging me in the love trains!
Happy (early) new year everyone! I have been tagged in so many variations of love trains the past couple of days and just wanted to take this opportunity to have a quick chat about my first year here on simblr (˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵) For the longest time i didn't want to consider joining this side of tumblr, not until a good friend recommended me to do so. The thought of people being interested in my little ocs or the gameplay i wanted to share never even crossed my mind, i'm so glad that i was proved wrong! Joining this community has not only allowed me to meet some of the most creative and talented people i know, but has also given me the chance to develop my own skills too (๑´>᎑<)~* I don't think anything i say could portray how grateful i am for every friend and mutual i have made on here throughout the past eight months, for all the love i've received. Just know that i truly appreciate every single one of you, and look forward to seeing your posts on here every day! As we step into the new year, i'm excited to continue sharing my creations and seeing all the amazing things you guys create too! Thank you for making my first year on here so wonderful, it's been a joy to connect with you all ♡ wishing everyone a bright & happy 2025, hope it'll be a year filled with love and joy for all of us!🥂

[image: Facebook post by Kerry Webb, transcribed below:]
The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after because she always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's very rarely anything in just before, but that they get inundated with toys the day after.
And it really made me think about it in a way I never would have before.
If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from father Christmas this year, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too.
Saw this & thought I'd repost
.
reblog by @petula-xx:
My mother volunteers in an op shop. She suggested donating toys a few weeks, rather than a few days, before Christmas. It can take the volunteers some time to process all the donations and get them on the shelf.
Also please do not 'donate' any toy that is broken, missing parts, stained or just worn out. Items like this take up space and staff time to deal with and will ultimately cost the op shop money to dispose of.
.
reblog by @llamawrites:
This is sweet and all, but if you clear out your children toys. Ask them first, I had lost my Polly pocket collection and my little pony collection when I was young because my mom thought I I didn’t play with them anymore.
Clear out the toys with your kids, it save you trouble.
.
reblog by @buggyeyes:
My Mom always framed it as me taking toys that I didn't play with anymore but were still perfectly good toys and giving them to other kids to make sure they could have as good a christmas as i did when i first got the toys i'd be giving away. even as an autistic kid with a hyper attachment to my toys it helped to get me happy to be giving away my toys, maybe this could help someone else with similar kids now!

Emily Prentiss x reader Requested Brat!unit chief!Emily, dom!reader. Set in s17, but that doesn't *really* matter lol Warnings: language, minor mentions of s17 canon, smut, dom/sub dynamics, a very brief slap, pussy spanking, minor over stimulation. It got real soft at the end. I dunno what happened. It's been over two months since I've written any fanfic/posted anything. Bare with me if this is terrible. I dunno how i feel about it yet so… yeah LOL. 5.1k
Emily heard a clicking sound against the linoleum all the way from in her cell and it was one that was all too familiar to her, one of a pair of Manolo’s making their way closer and closer to her. Somehow with each step her heart began racing faster than it had over the thought of spending the night in a holding cell. The sound stopped, two stunning royal blue heels swivelling into her gaze and she finally looked up, the exasperated look on her face melting off at the perfectly styled brow you raised in her direction.
“Seriously?”
“I—no, it wasn’t, Brian—”
“Save it!” Your voice was clipped, eyes dark as you shot her a glare before nodding to the guard to let her out, “you’re just lucky I wasn’t already at home.”
Emily nearly scrambled to her feet, fumbling to collect her things as you promptly turned on your heel and began to leave as swiftly as you arrived, the other woman at your heels. She wrapped her red coat tighter around her frame as the door swung open and you both stepped out into the night, a gust of frigid air whirling around both of you. Your hair whipped around your face as you approached the car, picking up the scent of your shampoo and Emily felt her senses alight, almost forgetting where she was as she started to speak.
“Thanks. You can just drop me back at work, I’ve got a change of…” She trailed off as she looked at you over the hood of the car. Your expression had hardened again, lips pursed as you surveyed her.
“You can’t seriously think I’m going to let you run off again. After all of that?” You scoffed, opening your door, “get in the car and shut up.” Your head tilted, your brow cocked in that all too familiar way at the end of your sentence and Emily was finally able to properly read you, while there was a frustration about having to bail her out practically in the middle of the night, there was a charged look behind your eyes that she knew all too well. She wasn’t going to push it, opening the door and dropping into her seat faster than either of you expected. “Good girl.”
Your hand reached over, tightly wrapping around her thigh and squeezing hard enough that she nearly gulped, her body tingling in anticipation as she did her seat belt up. Your hand moved to start the car, a patch of coolness on her thigh that sent shivers throughout her entire body. Her eyes darted over to you, while your jaw was relaxed, your hands were gripping the steering wheel and she certainly knew better than trying to push it by saying anything on the ride home.
Silence took over the car, the wind outside blowing over the windshield the only sound aside from the quiet rumble of the engine as you drove through the streets. Emily could feel her entire body buzzing, her chest nearly vibrating with anxiety as you got closer and closer to home, the prayer that she would get out of this easily one of the only thoughts on her mind. When you pulled into the driveway and didn’t say anything she lingered before undoing her seat belt, wondering if the lecture was going to come before she even made it in the door but your shoulders relaxed as you undid your seat belt and slipped from the car. She let out a breath, picking up her bag and quickly following you inside.
Once the main light was flicked on she kicked off her boots, tossing her coat over the back of the couch and let out a grumble of a sigh, running her hands over her face. She pushed back her hair, part of her wishing she had a hair tie on her to tug it up into a messy bun, instead, shoving it off to the side, picking at the sleeves of her shirt.
“What a fucking day. You would not believe the shit I had to put up with in the office—”
“You know better than that.” Your voice was cold and clipped when you interrupted her, and when she turned back to you she caught that perfectly raised brow again, your arms crossed over your chest and she instantly fell silent. “I’ve already had an incredibly long and tedious day. You’ve gone ahead and made it even longer, so what are you going to do to make it up to me?”
“Sorry.” The remorse in her voice was evident as she stepped back toward you, waiting until you dropped your arms to reach for your hands, “I really didn’t think”—
She was cut off when your hands instantly recoiled from hers, one darting out to wrap around her neck and her breath hitched as you gently shoved her back from you.
“Nice try.” Your finger and thumb squeezed against her soft skin, “but you don’t get to fucking touch me. Go make me a drink.” Your hand pushed her backwards and she let a gulp of air into her lungs, watching you for a moment until your head titled and she was quick to nod, crossing through the space into the kitchen.
Your gaze lingered on her, making sure she was doing what you asked before you let out an airy sigh, slipping out of your coat to hang it in the closet, shedding your blazer to rest it neatly over the back of a chair while you unbuttoned the top few buttons of your blouse. Behind you, you heard the clinking of two ice cubes into a rocks glass, turning just in time to watch Emily pour three fingers of amber liquid on top before sliding it across the island to you.
“Good girl.” When you picked up the glass to take a sip you caught her eyes following it up to your lips. Her tongue darting out to wet her own as they lingered on the plump cherry red wrapping around the rim of the glass.
Your eyes fluttered shut as the liquid sank down your throat, warming you from the inside out, the tension in your shoulders slowly relaxing as the day drifted away. You slipped onto a stool across from Emily, taking another sip before the glass gently returned to the island, your elbow beside it, your chin gently resting on the back of your hand while you surveyed her. Emily knew better than to speak but couldn’t control the way her mouth twitched when she wanted to ask ‘what?’, wondering just what was going on in your brain. The fingers of your other hand began to drum against the counter, manicured nails tapping out a repetitive beat.
“Now…just what are we going to do with you?” You asked, your voice controlled, low in a way that made Emily’s body tingle. “And I’m not just talking about tonight princess. You’ve been acting out for weeks now.”
Her lips parted, ready to explain as her body moved closer to the island, her hands braced on the edge of it. You picked up your glass to give her a moment, as if daring her to say something and her voice caught in her throat, swallowing the words back down as her mouth quickly shut.
“Remember, I’m well aware of just how incredibly stressful your job is, you’re the one out there finding the criminals and I’m the one responsible for prosecuting them. I would say my workday contained more migraines than yours if it wasn’t for your seniority. You knew continuing on as Section Chief would mean extended responsibilities, more duties, much more bureaucracy… which you’ve always hated. You need to learn how to say, ‘yes sir’ and at least pretend to mean it, that mouth of yours continually gets you in trouble, doesn’t it?”
She let out a puff of air, ducking her gaze for a moment, “yes.”
“Yes, what?” You nearly growled, annoyed at how quickly she seemed to need a reminder.
“Yes ma’am.” She repeated, eyes darting back up to yours again.
“That’s better.” Smirking, you took another sip of your drink, before tilting your head to your side, “get over here.”
Emily darted around the island, stopping in front of you as she waited with bated breath for you to swallow the liquor in your mouth. Her eyes flicked to your throat when it bobbed, her gaze dropping lower as if she was watching the trail of liquid move through your body, her eyes lingering on the curve of your chest daring to peak out from under your shirt. You chuckled softly,
“You like what you see?” When she nodded your fingers slowly undid the rest of the buttons, adjusting the fabric until she could see the dark lace of your bra underneath it. At her sides, her fingers twitched and you laughed again, “you think you’re getting rewarded? Fat chance. On your knees.” As she did as she was told, you slipped off the stool, standing high over her, “you’ve been nothing but a fucking brat recently, and you’re going to get what you deserve, you understand me?”
“Yes ma’am.” She nodded meekly.
“Good. Because I don’t know why you think you would get away with all of this shit. Backtalking, not playing by the rules, disobeying direct orders from your superiors? You’ve been spiralling completely out of control and it’s about time someone reminds you exactly where your place is. You think I haven’t noticed the way you barely make it home anymore? How half your closet is likely stashed away in your office? And let’s not even get started about the smoking. You said you were done with that.”
“I- “
“No!” Your hand reached out, grasping her jaw, thumb pulling on her bottom lip until her mouth was open, “you think I can’t smell it on you? Can’t taste it on those pretty lips when you kiss me goodnight? That mouth of yours can be used for so many other, better things than something like that.”
Emily’s lips remained parted, head tilted back in wait as you picked up your glass, taking another sip and letting the liquor sit in your mouth for a moment. Your lips parted just enough to let the liquid dribble from your mouth into hers, the back of your hand swatting her chin in a prompt to close her mouth when you were satisfied, swallowing down what was left in your mouth.
“Swallow.” You instructed and she did as asked, “open.” She opened her mouth, her tongue extending past her lips to prove she wasn’t disobeying. “That’s better. Are you done being a brat now?”
“Maybe.” It was out before she even realized it, a fire flashing behind her eyes as her lips dared to betray themselves, the corner twitching up into a grin. She saw the warning glance you gave her, a gasp escaping her lips when your palm met her cheek, a near breathy moan coming from the back of her throat as her shoulders relaxed at the tingle trickling through her from the slap.
“You earned that.” You drained the rest of your drink, “so get to the bedroom. I want you naked and waiting on your knees like a pretty pet, understood?”
Emily fervently nodded, quickly shifting off her knees before hurrying down the hallway. A puff of air escaped your lips as you shook your head, giving her a few moments to situate herself before you slowly made your way toward the bedroom, fingers swiftly undoing the remaining buttons of your blouse as you went. As you rounded the corner into the room you tugged the blouse out of your skirt, a small smile creeping across your lips when your eyes landed on Emily, naked and kneeling at the foot of the bed.
“Looks like someone has finally figured out how to follow the rules.” Your hand reached out, smoothing back a few pieces of her hair, tucking them behind her ear before your fingers trailed down her cheek. “I hope you don’t think that you’re getting rewarded now because of one good deed,” your tapped the tip of her nose before letting your blouse fall down your arms, tossing it in the direction of the hamper.
“No ma’am.” She replied softly, her eyes raking over the newly exposed skin of your body as you unzipped your skirt, pushing it down your legs. Her tongue darted out, wetting her lips at the sight of you clad in only your lingerie.
“It’s a shame. There I was putting this on earlier thinking we could have an entire evening of fun; I know it’s your favourite of mine.”
“I’ll make it up to you.” Her offer came quick, her voice just barely above a whisper as she strained to not reach out and touch you, the urge to bury her face in between your legs getting stronger by the second.
“How so?” You asked, stepping past her to the dresser where you pulled open the toy drawer.
“I’ll stay home all weekend. No work, no phone calls.” Emily glanced over her shoulder and shivered as her hair tickled over her back, “spend the entire time worshipping you, the way I should have been all this time. You deserve it and I’m sorry I was slacking off. It won’t happen again.”
“Good.” You glanced over at her, a warm smile on your lips, “I’m happy to not hear any pathetic excuses coming from that pretty mouth and those better not be empty promises.”
“They aren’t. I swear.” She swallowed when her eyes zeroed in on the items you’d chosen, your hip pushing the drawer shut. “I’m all yours, all weekend.”
“We’ll get to celebrate later, for now… up.” You crooked your fingers and she stood, her breath catching in her throat as you stepped up to her, your free hand cupping her cheek before your lips met hers.
Sparks began tingling through her entire body, her fingertips twitching as your lips moved with grace against hers, your hand sliding into her hair, tangling into the grey locks. She couldn’t help but let out a needy whine when you pulled a fraction of an inch away, your breath hot on her lips as you spoke.
“You’ve begun to be good; you may touch.”
The second it was out of your mouth her hands were on you, tracing patterns across your bare skin, toying with the lace of your lingerie, grasping at you in the desperate way one would after having not touched you in that way in weeks. Your mouth was back on hers, deepening the kiss as your tongue sunk into her mouth, dancing with hers, refusing to leave a single inch unexplored. Emily moaned into the kiss, so distracted by the pleasure shooting through her she didn’t feel your hand leave her head until it was groping at her chest. She expected a pinch, a gasp from her lips breaking the kiss at the sensation of something very cold pinching her nipple instead as you secured the clamp.
“You didn’t really think I was going to play nice, did you?” You chuckled, raising a brow and she shook her head.
“Just surprised, that’s all.” She murmured, a moan coming from the back of her throat as you applied the other clamp.
“That’s my good girl.” You cooed, your fingers trailing down the chain, tugging gently on it and Emily’s head fell back with a groan, “you like that?”
“Mmhmm…”
“Such a glutton for punishment.” Your hand yanked on the chain and Emily gasped, her eyes flying open to find you smirking across at her.
“Fuck…” She muttered, unable to resist rubbing her thighs together as the sparks began to build lower in her body, tingling their way down from her chest to her pussy.
Suddenly, you were back on her, mouth trailing down her neck, teeth scraping against the sensitive skin, one hand tangled in the chain, pulling occasionally while the other explored around her body. You pressed messy kisses to her neck, nipping gently at the same frequency that you pulled on the clamps until your teeth sunk into the crook of her neck and her entire body shuddered.
“Oh god.”
You lips curved up into a grin as your tongue lapped over the spot, soothing the burn before you pressed another kiss to it. Emily’s hands tugged you impossibly close to her, her nose nudging at your cheek, silently begging for another kiss. She wanted your lips on hers again, the all too familiar and comforting feeling, the taste of your scotch against her tongue, she craved the way you tasted, the way your taste drove her wild. The moment your lips were on hers she simply couldn’t get enough, wanting to explore every inch of you with her mouth, never wanting to let go.
She was utterly intoxicated by you, the world melted away the moment you touched her, her brain a fog of pleasure, desire and need as you made her body tingle. She was always surprised by just how quickly you could turn her on, how some days it only took a certain look, a glimmer in your eye as your lips flicked into a smirk and she could feel herself fluttering already. As your hand gently tugged on the clamp chain and the other one sunk down her body she felt like she was high, the pleasure from your touches dancing their way through her body. She felt the tingles as your fingers tickled at the curve of her ass before you squeezed and she moaned into the kiss. The moan intensified, her hands clawing at your skin when your hand sunk between her legs, fingers slowly dragging through her cunt, collecting her wetness before smearing it on her clit when you rubbed it gently.
“Fuck…” She breathed, her breath hitching when you tugged on the clamps again, her words turning into a whine.
“I just knew you’d like this.” You murmured, lips kissing across her jaw, “knew that needy little pussy would be wet at the thought of being punished.” You tugged on the chain in the same moment that your hand swatted at her cunt and she shivered, “get on the bed, lie back.”
Emily barely managed to pull herself away from you, chewing on her lower lip, her eyes still on you as she crawled onto the bed, settling against the pillows. Her hand absentmindedly drifted to the chain, tugging on it gently and her back bowed off the bed as sparks flew down to her pussy.
“Dirty girl.” You scolded, crawling onto the bed with a wicked grin on your lips, “now how about you spread those legs for me?”
Your hands slid up her legs, gripping onto her thighs as you pushed them apart, exposing her in the low light of the bedroom. She felt the cool leather tracing up her calf before her eyes managed to open to spot the crop in your hand and she let out an involuntary moan, pulling on the chain again and you chuckled.
“Thought you might like this.” You purred, dragging the crop up her thigh, the leather tracing across her lower stomach before moving to her other leg, “and you do deserve to be spanked, don’t you think?”
“Yes ma’am.” She nodded, groaning when your free hand wrapped around hers on the chain, tugging harder, “I’ve been bad.”
“And you’re going to count.”
“Yes.”
“And what happens if you miscount?” You asked, pulling the chain again and her eyes fluttered shut at the lightning shooting through her, she could feel her pussy getting wetter with each second that went by, pulsing around nothing as it begged to be fucked.
“Start over.”
“Good girl.” You praised, the crop gently swatting at her inner thigh. She shifted slightly, attempting to roll onto her side, only stopped by the fact that you were sitting between her legs, hands immediately clamping down onto her thighs, forcing her back to where she’d been before. “Uh-huh.” Shaking your head you tsk’d at her, “naughty girls get their pussies spanked, not their asses.”
“Baby…” she moaned and you chuckled, leaning over her while your hand suddenly cupped her cunt, massaging gently and her entire body shook, jolting off the bed as she swore.
“What?” Your finger tips pressed into her while the heel of your hand pressed against her pulsing clit, “isn’t this what you wanted? Your dripping pussy getting touched? Such a silly pet thinking you’d get fucked tonight. You may have shown a new leaf but you’re still in trouble princess, and bad girls get what’s coming to them.”
“Please!” She begged, her hips rocking up to your touch as her pussy throbbed, juices coating your fingers.
“I take it you’re ready?” You asked, your hand dragging through her cunt once more before you removed it, much to Emily’s displeasure, a whine leaving her lips as she nodded.
“Yes.”
“Good. You know the rules and you know your word.”
“Mmhmm.”
Her fingers gripped into the duvet in an attempt to keep herself under control and grounded, you’d restart if she miscounted, but you’d stop entirely if she even thought about touching you or herself. It had happened before and she wasn’t about to let herself live through that punishment again. A gasp escaped her when the crop came down in its first spank, a softer one to test the waters, make sure she was actually ready for it before you truly let her have it. The crop lingered on her cunt, dipping between her pussy lips as her body trembled, her eyes squeezed shut as she let out a breath,
“One.”
“Good girl.” You cooed and the praise washed over her like a warm breeze, her skin heating up, a tinge of pink creeping into her cheeks. Your hand hitched her thigh up, spreading her legs even further apart before spanking again, this time harder, enough to make her suck in a breath, the muscles of her legs twitching.
“Two…” she groaned, the warmth floating around her body turning up a notch, sparks igniting under her skin as you continued to bring the crop down twice more, this time in such fast succession she barely had time to register “three” before the word “four” was leaving her lips. The crop came down once more, the sting heavier as you kept it against her pussy, pressing into her wetness until the leather was coated in juices, glimmering in the low light. “Five.”
“How many do you think you deserve naughty girl?” You asked, continuing to rub her with the crop as your free hand picked up the chain, tugging on the nipple clamps and she moaned, fire breaking out inside her. “Been so bad for weeks now…ten doesn’t seem like enough.” The next swat came down so quick she hadn’t even realized you’d stopped rubbing her.
“Six!”
“Maybe I should just keep going until I feel like you’ve learnt your lesson.” Spank.
“Seven.” Spank. “Eight. Fuck… baby please…” Spank. “Nine. Don’t stop!”
“Desperate little thing, aren’t you?” You teased, leaning over her your hand pinched at the side of one of the clamps, opening it to relieve her nipple and she let out a moan when you sucked it into your mouth, tongue toying with the nub. A louder groan broke free of her lips when you spanked her again, the crop hitting her clit harder than the last one.
“Shit! Ten.” Emily’s eyes scrunched shut even tighter, her fingers clinging to the duvet like her life depended on it. She could feel her pussy dripping down onto the bed, aching to be filled while her clit absolutely throbbed, it wasn’t going to take much longer before you made her come. “Fuck!”
The cry left her as her eyes flew open when you suddenly applied the clamp again, this time it was wound tighter than before, a stinging sensation starting in her nipple and moved through her entire body that pulled a whimper from her.
“Oh don’t be soft.” You teased, your hand moving to the other side to tighten the second one, pinching it around her nipple with your fingers, “I know you like it.”
“Oh god yes…” She groaned, a shiver moving through her body when you tugged on the chain.
“So pretty all spread out like this for me.” You murmured, eyes raking over her naked body, nipples pink and hard, her chest flushed and slowly heaving as she tried to reign in her pleasure. Between her legs glistened, juices smeared across her thighs, dripping out of her gorgeous cunt and if you hadn’t been so hellbent on punishing her you would have buried your face into it immediately. Instead you brought the crop down onto it, chuckling darkly at the sound of it hitting her wetness.
“Eleven.” She groaned, her body writhing against the bed, heat prickling up under her eyelids as her teeth sunk into her lower lip. “Please!”
“Oh princess. Are you going to come just like this?” Spank.
“Twelve.”
“So desperate and slutty that I don’t even need to touch you.” Spank.
“Thirteen.” Her speech was broken, strangled as her jaw clenched, trying her best to hold on.
“Don’t even want my fingers inside that drenched pussy?” Spank. “Want my mouth wrapped around that throbbing clit?” Spank.
“Fourteen… fif—fifteen.” Her knuckles were starting to turn white, her thighs shaking on either side of your body, juices seeping out of her pussy.
“Maybe I should just leave you hanging…” You chuckled, this spank landing directly on her clit and her body jolted.
“Si-xtee—en.”
“Bring you so close to the ledge you’re nearly teetering over but don’t get to fall…” the crop traced around the outside of her pussy and she let out a whine of desperation, her skin burning up as her body twisted on the bed, “could just sit on your face and get myself off instead. Maybe that would be fair.” Spank.
“Fuck!” Her body convulsed as the pleasure shot through her like a rocket, her entire body on fire while wetness dripped out of her. She bit down on her lip so hard she was sure she would taste blood in a second if she wasn’t suddenly so overcome with the hot flash of pleasure taking over every inch of her body. She could barely feel the clamps on her nipples when you yanked on the chain, her back bowing off the bed, her eyesight went white when it was your hand instead of the crop that spanked her pussy.
“That’s it princess.” You cooed, hand massaging against her before two fingers slipped into her pussy, “but you’re not done yet. You’ve got another one in you; I know you do.”
“Oh god!” She moaned, “please! Please baby!” The tears that had previous pricked in the corners of her eyes were beginning to leak out, trailing over her cheeks as her body shook.
“You know your word.” You taunted, fingers quickly curling inside her pussy, searching out the sensitive spot.
Rather than use her word Emily tried to bite down onto her lip harder, a feeble attempt that only lasted a second before your fingers were brushing against her g-spot and she was crying out again. Her pussy clenched down around you, squeezing your fingers tighter with each thrust of your hand. Her first orgasm was barely finished by the time the second was washing over her, silent moans and screams coming from her lips as her body thrashed, pussy juices dripping down your wrist as she came.
“Fuck!” She shuddered, panting as you finally slipped your fingers out of her, sucking them between your lips to clean them off.
“Mmm. Always so tasty.” You gently tugged on the clamp chain again and she shivered, “are you finished counting?”
“Seventeen.” She breathed out, her eyes fluttering shut as her head sunk into the pillows.
“That’s my good girl.” Tossing the crop to the side you crawled over her, gently removing the nipple clamps, placing soft kisses around the swollen nubs as you did so. Your hands ghosted up her sides, fingertips tracing paths on her heated skin as she managed to catch her breath. She’d finally let go of the bedspread, her hand reaching for you with a soft whine and you chuckled, grabbing her hand to place a kiss in her palm. “Just a second.”
You shifted the blankets around, pulling them up over the two of you as you got settled on the bed, letting Emily instantly curl into you, her head resting on your chest. Her finger tips slowly tickled at your skin, her eyes fluttering between shut and staring off into space, her breathing finally normal again. Your free hand cupped the back of her head as your lips pressed a soft kiss to her temple, your fingers gently scratching her head.
“You alright?”
“Mmhm.” She nodded, lips brushing against your chest.
“And what did you learn?”
“If you fuck around you’re going to find out.”
You laughed, the smile reaching your eyes and Emily felt the warmth blooming in her chest when her eyes cracked open to catch the expression on your face.
“That’s right.” Your fingertip tapped the tip of her nose, “and I am always going to know when you think it’s a good idea to run your mouth at the wrong time. I don’t ever want to see you behind bars again, alright?”
“Agreed.” She nodded the best she could.
“I mean it Emily.” You squeezed her hand, “this time it was a stupid mistake that can be written off. But I know how reckless you can get, how much you can let yourself drown in work and I don’t want to see that happen again, you mean too much to me. I definitely don’t want to see you get hurt or get a call that you’re somewhere worse than a jail cell.”
“I’m sorry.” She murmured, this time looking up at you with true remorse in her eyes, “this case is so much. I got too wrapped up in it and forgot about the rest of my life.” She kissed your collarbone, “you’re right. I need a break and that starts with this weekend.”
“Good.” You kissed the top of her head as she burrowed deeper into your embrace, her breathing already slowing as the exhaustion sank through her body.
“Thank you.”
“For?” You asked as a yawn snuck up on you.
“Reminding me of the important things in life.”
It was barely a whisper, her voice muffled by your body and you squeezed her again, leaving a kiss on her hair in response. It was only a moment later that your fingers gently pushed the hair off her face, tracing down her cheek and you noticed she was already asleep. More than anything, Emily really did need a break and that truly was starting right now.

You Feed Me Now For Some Reason?
This is inspired by @the-autistic-spider’s repost on this post.
Billy was having a good day. It was sunny out in Fawcett and just the right amount warm. He was relaxing, laid out on a bench in a park. His eyes were closed and he simply basked in the sun like a cat. Then all of a sudden the sun was blocked out by something.
Black Adam: *looking absolutely horrified* “Aman?”
Billy: *opens his eyes to look up, look up at him, and honest to the Gods his soul almost leaves his body as he sees Adam standing over him*
Both of them looked equally horrified to see each other.
Black Adam: “Ah…” *rubs his eyes before looking back at him* “No. You’re not him.”
Billy: “Not who?”
Black Adam: “No one that concerns you.” *clears throat* “Child, where is the Champion?”
Billy: “You mean Captain Marvel? He’s uh… not here right now.”
Black Adam: “I thought the bumbling fool was always around.”
Billy: “Bumbling- he’s not a bumbling fool!” *offended* “And he’s not always around because he kinda has a life to live, you know?”
Black Adam: “He has a life outside of being the Champion?” *does a little short evil laugh* “Like that’ll last long.”
After that, Adam flew away, leaving Billy to stare him like he was a fucking idiot because, well, he was acting like one. At least in Billy’s opinion anyways. Fast forward a week or two and Billy is leaving the Whiz building. He gets maybe about a street away before Adam suddenly lands in front of him.
Black Adam: “You.”
Billy: “Me?”
Black Adam: “Where is the Champion?”
Billy: “I dunno sir.” *shrugs*
Black Adam: “But you should know. You are the Whiz Kid, yes? You spread news about his accomplishments and battles and such.”
Billy: “Yeah? That doesn’t mean I know where he is though.” *is mentally pointing an laughing*
Black Adam: “I see.” *narrows eyes and looks Billy up and down* “You’re… skinny. Your parents need to feed you more.”
Billy: “Uhm… I don’t have parents Mr. Black Adam Sir.”
Black Adam: “I see.” *stares for a solid minute*
Billy: *stares back*
Black Adam: *picks Billy up and flies to look for a food vendor*
Billy: *screams and flails*
After they found a vendor…
Black Adam: *puts Billy down*
Billy: *tries to run*
Black Adam: *grabs the back of his sweater to make sure he stays there* “Give us your finest…” *looks to what the vendor is even selling* “Hot dogs.”
Billy: *still trying to run but this is his favorite sweater and he doesn’t want to ditch it so he’s just stuck trying to pull away from a man with the strength of Amon*
When Adam got the hotdogs he sat down at a bench and lifted Billy to sit on the bench too and eat. Now see, Billy wasn’t about to get rid of a perfectly good hotdog, no siree. So, he scooched all the way to the edge of the bench and the two ate in silence. After that awkwardness, Adam straight up left.
Now, you’d think this would be a one time thing right? Nah. Adam ends up dragging Billy to food places so frequently the boy gets used to it. They still sit in that silence but Billy’s gotten used to that and just tries to focus on the food. As for how they’re getting all this food? Adam just intimidates anyone who even thinks to deny the pair a taco or hotdog.

have you ever tried this one ?! - 3rd years
in which you remember the song 'juno' and start to perform in your bedroom. forgetting you invited someone over.
author's note: (not edited, just thoughts) i promise, im trying to churn the fics. but hehe... i got the idea from my brainrot of crowley bringing your world's music to you.
content: can be read platonic/romantic (leaning on romantic), gn! reader, suggestive (its juno positions, what did u expect ?!)
As you stay in the privacy of your own room, you remember the old playlist Crowley gave you. You roll your eyes, out the of the many ways Crowley can help... He brings you music? He stresses that "It is a good way to connect with your home! And, who knows, this is a key to get you back?"
He said that and still insists he can't find a way. However, one step closer, right? You sigh and look at the limited music that was summoned. Looking at the music choices, you laugh as you saw "Juno." You decide to chime in and remember how you performed it back in your own privacy.
"Have you ever tried this one?" You say in a very flirty tone as you strike a pose, similar to what Sabrina would do in her tour. Mortified, you saw someone at the door.
trey clover
being confident in your own privacy, you dance and be as sensual as you want. usually, you wouldn't. but hey, a bit fun never killed anyone? plus, the position you pulled was fairly tame. it was just you pushing your butt a bit more out there, which may have shown something...
you gasp as you realize trey was there, standing, mortified and red. he looked shocked as the song in the background still played. it came to the part where Sabrina declares she was "so fucking horny." you were still in that specific pose before you stood up apologizing. trey coughed and shook his head, trying to shake off the image of you being that sensual.
"the look in their eyes, oh sevens. and the way that pose with uh.." trey's thoughts grow frantic as he apologized and tried to close the door
"prefect! i'm so sorry! let me just... next time, maybe lock the door? that was.. quite the show." you can basically hear the smirk.
cater diamond
cater was vlogging on the way to the dorm and to your room. he was hearing how you sang from the hall, he was excited to catch you off guard with a video. he giggled at his plan and barged in, but as he barged in, you were posing with that flirty tone cooing out of your mouth.
he nearly dropped his phone and his mouth was agape. your pose was so perfectly tame and lewd, he couldn't help but loose some air. cater tried to cover his eyes and try to laugh it off
"dear sevens, not now. don't let my imagination do the rest!" cater begs in his mind as he tried to grab his phone and shuffle out the door.
"nice voice though, bestie! uhm... maybe learn to lock things? that wasn't really... uhm. ah! let me just edit this, don't worry i won't post it!"
leona kingscholar
leona was annoyed how he had to get out of his nap. however, your dorm was oddly very comfortable, and you invited him over. it won't hurt, right? he stalks the halls, annoyed how you didn't bother to see if he arrived.
hearing your footsteps, he heard some tunes and decided to open the door to your room. leona was about to complain when you both were caught in a stare down of a very explicit pose. you were quiet and tried to make yourself decent before
*slam* leona closed the door. he was appalled and a bit too invested in the pose you just did. his tail was swishing around and he tried to avoid the heat building up, "what a show" he thought
"if you're gonna invite me to do that, wine and dine me first, herbivore. as a prince, i expect better" he teased
vil schoenheit
vil was expecting that you'd remember his promise of pampering. as vil walked to your room, he was wondering why you haven't noticed the way he nagging. vil made sure his voice was heard.
imagine his horror when he bursts the door open and see such a vulgar display of yourself towards him, though he did have to give where credit is due. you performed well and... got the reaction you wanted.
"hmm. not bad, that did get a reaction from me. ah, i got bested once more" vil thought as you scramble to be more decent, vil's glare causing you to hurry up. but that didn't stop the song to continue playing.
"horny? potato, what are these songs? hm, but your performance... i have some strong words" vil said as he listened in, you blush and turned it off.
rook hunt
let's be honest, he was watching the whole performance. your invitation was just a signal of when he will arrive at your door. he notes each note and decided to watch the spectacular performance up close.
as rook bursts through your door, he was blushing at the fact he realized that the innuendos were becoming serious. he was shocked to see you in such a pose. but that pose!
"ah, such perfect angles. if only i could've captured this moment, what a waste!" he thinks as he tries to take in the view of your pose.
"ah! my dear prefect! what a show! and that pose, such grace and vulgarity! and what's this? you are willing to try it?" rook said with so much enthusiasm. you glare.
idia shroud
he was honestly just about to ask something but that question died when he entered the room. he was floored when all you did was something not even his idols would dare to do.
idia didn't know what to do but panic and yelp as you try to calm him down in case he'd faint (he was close to doing so). your pose was now ingrained in his mind, he can't remove how your eyes and...
"oh sevens! oh sevens! that was so?!! oh im... is it obvious?!" idia panics as he pulls down his hoodie before overheating and tripping to the door.
"stupid... you should've locked the door. now i forgot why am i even here and-" idia tried to push his hoodie and hide somewhere
malleus draconia
he was excited to see you as he heard how you were singing and performing, he found the first lyrics odd, but he was strolling with ease. malleus just wanted to check up on you, and the shock he felt when you were posing
at first, he tried to be reasonable. but as his ears cannot deceive him, and his eyes too. he was shocked and speechless and the way you were displayed. you gasp and realize you nearly flashed the strongest one among the student body.
"how do i tell my child of man the implications of their words and actions?" malleus worries as he felt the blush creep in at the awkward situation they were in. he coughed and offered some space as he stood in front of the door
"does that mean... no. but ah, i can't have such feelings just yet. what enchantment has my dear done?" malleus said embarrassed.
lilia vanrouge
lilia was like rook, he saw it from a mile away. however, unlike rook, he was willing to not barge in. lilia calmly stalked you and appeared upside by your door. however, he was shocked and nearly fell at the display.
that pose and flirty tone was enough to cause such scandals. you yelp and try to stand up as quick as you can as lilia giggled at the notion. he went down on the ground and tried to calm your frantic explanations, humming alongside the song. he found it good.
"oh! that is quite a display. hmm, do they know how scandalous they are being right now? and quite the nice melody over something so raunchy." lilia giggled as he smirked as the song played on.
"quite the scandal, dear. keep the door locked next time, fufufufu~ though, i must say, the song is quite a treat. i would love to learn it on my guitar, i can hear that guitar solo after~"

I think its crazy some people are dropping the show after Sinsmass/the whole Octavia thing.
I agree with the post about how complicated it is for Stolas. Also, i raise you *Child who has probably spent her whole life watching her parents NOT being a healthy couple... Or one at all*.
Now, this is important. VERY important, especially when you take in consideration that she's quite old in the middle of the divorce and her mother is an insanely manipulative narcissist. Which means, she could've not experienced half the shitty relationship it actually was and be living half a fantasy of a "happy family". Seeing how divorce can be quite difficult for children, even more if they're older and think the divorce is coming out of nowhere which makes it even harder.
Divorce is hard and it affects the relationship between child and parents regardless of how good it might be. Stolas also launched himself into a seriously unhealthy situationship he was NOT prepared for, much less capable to handle it. This divides his attention from being solely on Octavia (after it being all about her and her only) to his pet ✨BLITZY✨. So Octavia is growing up, being a teen, living in a house with parents who are NOT a couple or remotely affectionate with each other, and now this stranger is spending a lot of time with her dad (lets note that this is on Stolas, since he was the one seeking Blitz and not viceversa. For blitz it's business, transactional, his payment for 'renting' Stolas grimoire).
Then the divorce happens. Lets say whatever cause she still spends time with Stolas and he's doing pretty good (feeling better than he probably felt after years of living with Stella). Then he's so focused on his situationship and his developing feelings that he naturally shifts more focus onto Blitz. Then they break up and he's in Shambles.
Stella surely was also finding ways to keep Stolas from spending time with Octavia. So Stolas being too emotionally devastated after the break up doesn't help his lack of presence in Octavia's life.
"Why does he hate her more than he loves me?"
Octavia knows her parents don't love each other. That's probably why she does not react much to him ans Blitz at the beginning cuz "hey! At least her dsd is happy now, right?"
Still, she needs to know he loves her. And Stolas has proven to speak too much without sufficient actions to prove his words. He promises things and forgets (cuz he has his own shit to deal with. All reasonable) but his daughter needs her father.
Sadly, Stolas also dug his own grave.
"When I'm gone you'll be okay."
Stolas did not spend enough time with his daughter. A daughter who was no longer living with him. A daughter living through a divorce, a separation, and a mother who does not want her to be with Stolas.
Then he sacrificed himself for his great love!... And it cost him what he loves most, his daughter.
"And when you're gone I will be okay."
He proved to her that SHE wasn't the first thing he thought about. Not after the break up (yes, he was heartbroken but time with his beloved daughter would've been a healthy distraction and good for the both of them). Not when he risked his life, HER DADDY'S LIFE. Not when he just had his visiting rights REVOKED for 100 years.
I mean, seriously for someone who claims to love his daughter so much, he did not thought about how his actions would affect his daughter nor the fact that he would NOT SEE her for a fucking century - regardless of the fact that they're pretty much eternal.
Being there is important for a kid, for YOUR kid. When you prove to them they're not a priority, it stings. It shows them they can't count on you.
She even says it in her song,
"Was it just another lie."
"Why you lied to my face?"
"And I'll know that i was always right to doubt you."
And during such a rough time, it might just lead them to think that maybe they aren't loved.
🦉🦉🦉
Now yoy have this teen goung through all of that but, believe it or not, kids have eyes. Kids pay attention to their parents.
So she throws it back to him, how he never kept his promises, how all he did was lie, how he didn't love her as much as he loved Blitz since he ABANDONED her for him.
Octavia goes through all the drama, through all those doubts about her dad and whether or not he loves her and then... She finds a BOX full of Happy Pills!
So yes. She throws all that back to him and she blames him.... But she also blames herself.
She thinks that because of his unhappy marriage - HER parents' shitty marriage -, because of HER, Stolas was so depressed, so unhappy... That he needed ✨Happy Pills✨
"So (...) you just stayed miserable because of me?"
It's her fault his dad was miserable. He would've been better had he not stayed with his family, unhappy and forced into it.
"Was I some fucking obligation?"
She's a burden. No reason her dad left her. She was part of the reason he was miserable. Of course she'd leave her after finding happiness.
And then it all ties together with
"You lied to me once you'll lie to me again"
What goes around comes around.
"I tried so many years to make it comfortable for us; to have this family, but it was never enough. The only reason I have endured your constant insults and cruelty was for that girl to have a normal life." - Stolas S2 E1
"Also, son, you are destined to sire a precautionary addition to the Goetia family." - Paimon S2 E1
Some of you all are completely misunderstanding the second half, I am not downplaying the love Stolas has for Octavia, I am not saying that at all, what I am saying, is that Octavia is 100% going to think she was a 'obligation' when she finds out she was born to be a 'precautionary addition to the Goetia family'.
#helluva boss#stolas#octavia goetia#helluva boss stolas#helluva boss spoilers#hellaverse#sinsmas spoilers#Octavia fucked up as a parent#Even if he did try to 'fix' it#Octavia has every right to react how she did considering Stolas behavior with HER since S1#I don't think it's fair people dislike the episode because of her reaction#Girly has every right to call out her dad on his BS#Stella is still greatly at fault#Octavia also needs to learn the bitch her mother is#That's what character development is for#In other news this is probably part of Stolas character arc/development#At least i hope so#Can't have a rich powerful pampered man who has never been held accountable for anything learn if he doesn't have anything to lose#Stolas lost EVERYTHING so now he gets to learn the hard way the importance of EVERYTHING#Good for Octavia#Really lookkng forward to see how she evolves as a character#I really fucking hope they dont fuck up their arcs

The Announcement
sirius black x reader - the announcement
word count: 3.5k
summary: y/n and sirius visit the potter’s and lily has an announcement for everyone
warnings: shameless sirius bc that’s my favorite sirius
a/n: i thought i was going to write more of this but i lost interest lol… figured i would go ahead and post it
The crisp December air carried a sharp bite as Y/N and Sirius made their way up the winding path to the Potters’ home. Snow blanketed the ground, glistening under the soft glow of the streetlamps. The house ahead was warm and inviting, its windows glowing with golden light and the faint sound of laughter drifting out into the cold night.
“We’re late,” Y/N pointed out, her tone laced with mock disapproval.
“Are we?” Sirius quipped, feigning surprise as he tightened his grip on her hand. “I hadn’t noticed.”
Y/N gave him a light shove, her laughter echoing into the quiet night. “James is going to give us hell for this, isn’t he?”
“Absolutely. But let him,” Sirius said with a shrug. “He’s just jealous because Lily never looks at him the way you look at me.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop the warmth that bloomed in her chest. “You’re ridiculous.”
“And yet, here you are,” Sirius quipped, the smirk never leaving his face.
“Hang on a second,” he murmured, his voice dropping into a softer, more serious tone.
Y/N turned to face him, her brow furrowing slightly. “What is it?”
“Nothing,” he said softly, his gray eyes locking onto hers. His free hand slid around her waist, pulling her closer. “I just need a moment with you before we go in there.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “A moment for what?”
“For this,” Sirius murmured.
He leaned down, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, lingering kiss. Sirius deepened the kiss, his fingers tightening slightly on her waist as though anchoring her to him.
When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested lightly against hers, their breaths mingling in the cold night air.
“You look absolutely stunning tonight, doll,” he whispered, his voice low and earnest. His gray eyes searched hers, filled with unbridled adoration. “Almost too good for them, really. Maybe we should skip dinner and stay home.”
Y/N blinked, her cheeks warming despite the chill. Sirius had a way of saying things that made her feel like the center of the universe, even in the most ordinary moments. “Sirius—” she started, but he cut her off with a playful grin.
“I’m serious.”
She groaned, playfully pushing him away. “You ruin everything, you know that?”
“Never,” he shot back, “Now we’re late enough to make an entrance.”
Y/N let out a breathless laugh, shaking her head at him. “You’re impossible.”
“And yet—”
“Here I am,” she finished for him, smiling despite herself.
Sirius grinned, clearly pleased with himself, and pressed a quick kiss to her forehead before stepping back. “Come on, doll. Let’s go let Prongs and Lily know we’ve graced them with our presence.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but followed him up the last few steps to the door, her heart still racing from the kiss.
As Sirius reached for the door, it swung open suddenly, revealing James’s grinning face.
“Well, well, look who finally decided to show up!” James said, leaning casually against the doorframe.
Sirius grinned back, unfazed. “We’re still the best part of your evening.”
“Debatable,” James shot back, though his tone was light. His eyes shifted to Y/N, his grin softening. “Y/N, you’re looking lovely tonight. Too lovely for this git, if you ask me.”
Y/N laughed, stepping forward to give him a quick hug. “Thanks, James.”
“Oi,” Sirius protested, though his grin suggested he wasn’t actually offended.
Lily appeared behind James, her expression softening as she saw Y/N. “It’s about time you two got here. Come in, come in—it’s freezing out there.”
She stepped aside to let them in, and Y/N couldn’t help but sigh in contentment as the warmth of the house enveloped her. The smell of roasting meat and fresh bread filled the air.
“Dinner will be ready in about half an hour,” Lily said, closing the door behind them. “James, take their coats.”
James groaned dramatically. “Why do I always have to play coat rack?”
“Because you’re closer to the door,” Lily said matter-of-factly, giving him a look that dared him to argue.
With a resigned sigh, James took their coats, hanging them neatly on the rack by the door.
Y/N glanced over at Sirius, who gave her a small wink before guiding her toward the living room.
The Potter’s living room was as warm and inviting as the rest of the house, with mismatched furniture that somehow worked perfectly together.
Remus and Peter were already seated, deep in conversation. Remus lounged on the sofa, looking as relaxed as ever, while Peter sat in the armchair closest to the fire, rubbing his hands together for warmth.
“About time you two made it,” Remus said, his tone teasing as he looked up at Sirius and Y/N.
“Fashionably late,” Sirius corrected, releasing Y/N’s hand only to guide her toward the center of the room. “It’s a fine art.”
“It’s a fine excuse,” Peter quipped, earning a chuckle from Remus.
James flopped onto the sofa beside Remus.
“Look, the important thing is we’re here now,” Sirius said, unbothered as he dropped into a large armchair with an exaggerated sigh. He stretched his legs out in front of him, looking every bit as comfortable as if he owned the place.
He glanced up at Y/N, his gray eyes glinting with mischief. He patted his knee with an inviting grin. “Come here, love.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but stepped closer, letting Sirius tug her onto his lap. The chair was plenty big enough for the two of them, but Sirius’s hold was firm as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.
“Much better,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her shoulder.
“You’re shameless,” she said lightly, though the corners of her mouth betrayed a small smile.
“Absolutely,” Sirius replied, nuzzling the side of her neck.
Peter snorted from his seat by the fire. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so attached to another person.”
“Don’t encourage him,” Y/N said, shooting Peter a playful glare.
But Sirius, undeterred, tightened his hold on her. “Why not? It’s true.”
“Here we go,” James said. He gestured towards Sirius, “Two minutes in and he’s already making us all look bad.”
“It’s a gift,” Sirius replied smoothly, resting his chin on Y/N’s shoulder.
“Or a curse,” Remus muttered, though his tone was light.
Lily joined them a moment later, pausing in the doorway with a small smile. “Y/N, those earrings are gorgeous,” she said, motioning toward the gold and pearl earrings Y/N was wearing.
Y/N reached up to touch one of them, a bashful smile spreading across her face. “Thank you, Lily. Sirius got them for me.”
“Of course he did,” Remus said with a smirk. “Anything to keep her around, eh?”
Sirius raised an eyebrow, feigning offense. “Oi, I don’t need bribery. My natural charm does the trick.”
Remus rolled his eyes. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Pads.”
James, who had been lounging on the sofa, leaned forward with a grin. “Speaking of keeping her around…” He tilted his head toward Sirius. “When are you going to get her a ring, mate?”
Y/N felt her cheeks flush instantly. She glanced down at her hands, suddenly very interested in the stitching on Sirius’s jacket.
Sirius, however, didn’t miss a beat. He chuckled, brushing a kiss against her cheek before addressing James. “What’s the rush, Prongs? She’s not going anywhere.”
“Careful,” James warned, wagging a finger at him. “Wait too long and she might start looking for better options.”
“Unlikely,” Sirius said confidently, his gray eyes sparkling with amusement.
“All right, all right,” Lily interjected, taking pity on Y/N. “Leave them alone, James.”
James threw up his hands in surrender. “Fine, but you’re all witnesses—I tried.”
The conversation shifted after that, moving into lighthearted discussions about work and the latest ridiculous thing James had done. Sirius kept his arms around Y/N the entire time, occasionally brushing his lips against her shoulder or murmuring small comments that made her laugh.
━━━━━━━•✧°•°𓅦°•°✧•━━━━━━━
“All right, dinner’s ready,” Lily reappeared in the doorway. “Come on, everyone, let’s head to the table before James eats everything in sight.”
“I’m only having what I deserve,” James protested dramatically.
Everyone stood, stretching and making their way toward the dining room.
The dining room was just as inviting as the living room. The long wooden table was set with mismatched plates and silverware, and a hearty spread of food covered nearly every inch of its surface. Roast beef, golden potatoes, roasted vegetables, warm bread rolls, and a rich gravy were just a few of the dishes vying for attention.
Lily beamed as everyone took their seats, clearly pleased with the results of her hard work. “All right, dig in,” she said, taking her place at the head of the table beside James.
Sirius pulled out a chair for Y/N, letting his hand linger on her lower back as she sat. He took the seat beside her, his knee brushing against hers under the table.
“You’ve outdone yourself, Lily,” Remus said, eyeing the spread appreciatively. “This looks incredible.”
“It smells incredible,” Peter added, already reaching for the nearest dish.
Lily waved off the compliments, though the pink in her cheeks betrayed her pleasure. “It’s nothing fancy. Just a little something to keep you all fed.”
“More than a little,” Y/N said, smiling at her. “Thank you for having us, Lily.”
“Of course,” Lily said, her expression softening. “You’re always welcome here.”
As plates were filled and drinks poured, the conversation flowed easily. The group reminisced about their Hogwarts days, trading stories of pranks, late-night adventures, and the occasional moment of chaos.
“Do you remember the time we tried to sneak into the kitchen for extra pumpkin pasties?” James asked, pointing his fork at Sirius. “And you tripped over Filch’s cat?”
“That was not my fault,” Sirius said indignantly. “The damn thing came out of nowhere.”
“It came out of the shadows like some kind of demon,” Peter added, his eyes wide with mock horror.
“Exactly,” Sirius said, gesturing at Peter. “Thank you. At least someone remembers it correctly.”
Y/N laughed, her hand resting on Sirius’s arm as she leaned closer. “So, what did you do?”
“Ran for our lives,” Remus said dryly.
“Not before James screamed like a banshee,” Sirius added, earning a glare from his best friend.
“I did not!” James protested.
“You absolutely did,” Lily said, her tone matter-of-fact as she sipped her water.
The table erupted into laughter, and even James couldn’t hold back a smile.
Sirius turned to Y/N, his gray eyes sparkling with amusement. “See what I had to deal with?”
“Must’ve been a nightmare,” Y/N said, her tone teasing.
“Every day,” Sirius replied, though the affection in his voice was unmistakable.
As the meal went on, Sirius’s hand found its way to Y/N’s again, his thumb brushing lightly over her knuckles. It was a small gesture, but it sent warmth coursing through her.
The sound of clinking glasses and cheerful chatter filled the room as the plates slowly emptied. Lily beamed every time someone complimented her cooking, while James pretended to take credit for the meal, earning playful swats from his wife.
“I have to admit,” Remus said, leaning back in his chair, “this might be the best meal I’ve had in months.”
“Agreed,” Peter said, nodding. “You’ve spoiled us, Lily.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Lily said with a smile.
James stood abruptly, raising his glass. “A toast,” he declared, his voice cutting through the din.
Everyone paused, their attention turning to him.
“To good friends, good food, and the best damn family anyone could ask for,” James said, his grin wide and sincere.
“Hear, hear,” Sirius said, raising his glass as the rest of the group followed suit.
"Now," he said, his voice carrying with a self-importance that immediately set the tone for whatever was coming. "It's time we all acknowledge that life is changing. Things are shifting, and, well... we need to embrace it.
Sirius, clearly anticipating James's theatrics, smirked but didn't say anything. Y/N, sitting next to him, exchanged an amused glance with Remus, who seemed just as familiar with this routine.
“Let’s get to the real reason we’re all gathered here tonight." James gave a dramatic pause, looking around the table, catching everyone’s eyes before finally turning to Lily, who was sitting beside him with a knowing smile. "Lily," he said, his voice lowering slightly with a playful solemnity. "The floor is yours."
Lily, with a soft but radiant smile, placed her hand on her belly. She met James’s gaze with an expression filled with both love and excitement. For a moment, the room seemed to hold its breath, waiting for her to speak.
"I think," Lily began, her voice warm and steady, "that it’s time we share something with all of you."
Y/N felt a flutter of anticipation in her chest as she looked between James and Lily. Her eyes lingered on Lily’s hand resting on her stomach, a subtle hint that something was coming.
"We’ve been waiting for the right moment," Lily continued, her smile widening as she finally let the news slip. "And well, the right moment is now."
She paused, letting the words settle in before adding, "James and I are expecting."
There was a collective gasp around the table. Y/N’s heart skipped a beat, and her eyes went wide as she processed the announcement. The room erupted into excited chatter, everyone speaking over each other in joy and disbelief.
"Bloody hell!" Sirius exclaimed, standing quickly from his chair and striding over to James. He clapped him on the back with a force that nearly sent James stumbling forward. "You're going to be a father!" he laughed, his voice thick with pride and something softer—something more emotional.
James chuckled, clearly overwhelmed but thrilled. "Can you believe it?" he said, his voice catching slightly. He glanced at Lily, who was looking at him with a smile that said everything.
Y/N, still in a state of shock and joy, stood up quickly. She moved toward Lily, her heart full as she threw her arms around her. "Lily, that’s amazing!" she exclaimed, her voice cracking slightly with emotion. "I’m so happy for you both!"
Lily hugged her back just as fiercely, her laughter bubbling up. "Thank you, Y/N," she said softly, pulling away to look her in the eye. "I couldn’t wait to tell you. It feels so right, all of this."
Tears pricked at the corners of Y/N’s eyes, but she blinked them away, grinning from ear to ear. She glanced over her shoulder to see Sirius, who had returned to his seat, his own eyes slightly misty.
"I swear, mate," Sirius said, his voice a little hoarse, though his grin was as wide as ever, "I never thought I’d see the day when you’d be the one in this situation. You’re going to be a bloody brilliant dad."
James laughed, but there was a definite softness in his eyes, "I’m terrified, to be honest," he admitted, his tone vulnerable for a split second. "But I couldn’t be more excited."
Y/N moved back to her seat, smiling as she looked around at the joy-filled faces of her friends. This moment felt monumental, like a new chapter had begun, one full of hope and love.
Sirius’s eyes, glistening with emotion, shifted between James and Lily, still processing the magnitude of what they had just shared. His heart was so full, so utterly overwhelmed with happiness for his best friend, that the emotions he’d been trying to keep in check finally slipped past his defenses.
He cleared his throat, trying to shake off the lump that had formed there, but it didn’t work. The joy in his chest was so heavy, it was impossible to keep it all inside. His eyes started to burn, and he rubbed his face quickly, as though to stave off the tears that were threatening to spill over. But they came anyway—slowly at first, then with more urgency, as he realized the depth of what James and Lily’s baby meant.
“Sirius?” Y/N’s soft voice pulled him from his thoughts, and he looked up to find her standing beside him, her gaze full of concern.
He gave her a shaky smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. The tears, now unmistakable, were streaming down his face. He wiped them away quickly, but they kept coming, as if he couldn’t hold them back any longer.
“I’m sorry, I—” His voice broke, and he stopped, taking in a shaky breath. “I just—this baby is going to be so loved,” he murmured, his words coming out thick with emotion. “So loved. And I know that because of the two of you. And the family we’ve built together.”
Y/N felt a lump in her throat as she reached out for his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. She could see it now—the weight of what this meant for him. She had always known how deeply Sirius felt for his friends, how much he cared for them like they were his own flesh and blood. But seeing him so raw, so vulnerable in this moment, was something else entirely.
He looked at her, his eyes searching for something, some kind of reassurance, but he didn’t find it. Instead, his gaze turned back to James and Lily, his voice unsteady. “This kid… this kid is going to grow up with two amazing parents, and they’re going to have all of us to love them. Every single one of us. You’re not just bringing a child into this world—you’re bringing someone into a family that’s already been built on love. And that baby will feel that. Every second of every day.”
Sirius swallowed hard, his voice thick with emotion, the words tumbling out as if he couldn’t stop them now. “I know we’ve all been through hell, and I know we’re not perfect, but that little one... they won’t have to fight for this love. It’ll be given to them freely, and endlessly, and God—” He choked on his words, blinking furiously as more tears fell down his cheeks. “They’ll never have to wonder if they’re wanted. Because they will be, more than anything in this world.”
James and Lily, standing off to the side, exchanged a look. There was a mixture of surprise and something else—something deeper. They could see how much Sirius cared, how much this moment meant to him.
James, who had been standing back, observing this tender moment, finally spoke, his voice rough but full of sincerity. “Sirius…” He stepped forward, clapping his hand on his shoulder, his own eyes moist with emotion. “Thank you. For everything. You’re going to be part of this little one’s life too. I know that for sure.”
Sirius sniffed and nodded, his chest tight. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” he murmured, his voice still raw but steadying now. He managed a small, tearful smile at James, the bond between them stronger than ever. “You’re my brother, Prongs. Always.”
“And you’re mine, Pads,” James replied, his voice full of warmth. “You’ve been there for me more times than I can count. And you’ll be there for this baby too.”
Sirius wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, forcing out a shaky breath. “Alright, alright, enough of that,” he said, trying to clear the emotion from his voice. “I’m not crying anymore. At least, not in front of you lot.” He managed a weak chuckle, though his heart was still pounding. “We need champagne.”
The pop of the champagne cork echoed through the room, and Sirius grinned, expertly pouring the bubbly into glasses. He handed Y/N a glass with a playful wink, and she accepted it with a smile.
“Cheers,” Sirius said, raising his glass with a mischievous glint in his eyes. The others followed suit, clinking their glasses together. Lily, sitting beside James, simply smiled warmly but didn't reach for a glass herself.
Y/N took a sip of her champagne, the bubbly tickling her tongue, and glanced around at the group. James and Remus were both grinning, and Sirius, his usual confident self, couldn't seem to take his eyes off her. She couldn't help but smile in return.
Sirius couldn’t wipe the grin off his face as he pulled Y/N close, his arms wrapping around her waist. His eyes were alight with excitement, and before she could react, he kissed her gently on the cheek, then on the top of her head. He pulled back slightly, his smile only growing wider.
“I’m so bloody happy,” Sirius murmured, kissing her cheek again, a little more quickly this time, as though he couldn’t contain his joy. “I can’t believe it—Lily’s pregnant. We’re going to be an aunt and uncle!”
He laughed softly, kissing her head once more, his lips lingering there for a second before pulling back, his hands resting on her shoulders. “We’re going to be amazing,” he added, his voice full of excitement.
Y/N could feel the warmth of his kisses against her skin, and the way he couldn't stop smiling made her own heart swell. “I think we will be,” she said with a small laugh, her hands lightly resting on his chest.
Sirius kissed her cheek again, this time with a playful sense of urgency. “I just can’t stop thinking about it, Y/N. We’re going to spoil that baby rotten.” He kissed her head again, this time a soft peck that was more about the moment than anything else.
Y/N smiled up at him, her heart fluttering with the affection he showed.
Sirius laughed, the sound of it rich and carefree. He kissed her on the cheek once more, so many times that Y/N felt almost giddy with the affection. "I can’t wait for all of it, doll. I’m just so bloody happy."

Death can't keep us apart (Part I - f!reader x Bruce Wayne)
Hi everybody, it's been a hot minute since I posted for Bruce Wayne, so here you are. It's a two part very angsty story about Bruce Wayne and his children dealing with your death.
Hope you'll enjoy <3
And by the way, requests for any DC characters you'd like are open.
Warnings: not proof read, ANGST and more ANGST, violence, death (you're shoot in the head), funeral, sadness, grief, no one is dealing well with your death
Everything was going to be alright.
You were certain Batman was about to arrive. He was coming to save you. You had no doubt about it, even though Riddler had started a timer and at the end of it, a machine would shoot you in the head. But it was going to be okay. You were Batman’s wife, after all. And you had a charity gala to attend that very same night. You were going to be a little bit late, but it would be a fun story to tell about, right?
You couldn’t imagine how stressed Bruce had to be right now, but everything was going to be alright.
You had been kidnapped by Riddler, as Bruce Wayne’s wife. He wanted to toy with the billionaire and then the game kept getting more and more violent. He played with Batman to show him he was smarter than him. You were certain your husband was the best though; Riddler couldn’t win.
He never did before.
And yet tears started to cascade down your face as time was going by. Riddler was taunting you, trying to make you beg him or say that Bruce Wayne was useless to save you. Then he added that you were probably not important enough for Batman to look after you. You replied nothing, your eyes glued to the timer in front of you.
5 minutes left.
4 minutes left.
3 minutes left.
2 minutes left.
1 minute left.
It was pretty obvious you were going to die now, and you hated that you couldn’t tell the man you loved that it was okay. Gotham was a dangerous city, and it wasn’t his fault or his children’s fault if you were going to die that night. You wished you would have told them how much you loved them one last time though. You hoped they were going to be alright without you. But you wanted to believe they were strong and powerful people. They would find a way to survive your loss.
You took one last deep breath before darkness engulfed you. Painlessly.
Batman arrived then.
Too late.
He had promised himself it would never happen again, not after Jason. He couldn’t endure another time the loss of someone he loved because he didn’t arrive in time, because he hadn’t been good enough, because he failed them.
He needed to be better and stronger to protect his people. He worked so hard for it. Everyday of his life, his main goal was to become the best.
He thought it was what he did. He thought he was better. He thought he was safe from such a disaster.
And yet, here he was, cradling your dead body in his arms, screaming and crying, begging you to come back to life.
He had untied you from the chair and had fallen on the ground with you. His protective suit prevented him from feeling how cold your body was slowly getting, but the hole in your head was making things pretty clear and hopeless. His heart was shattered in small pieces, his sanity was so easily slipping away. He was losing himself in your death. Nothing else mattered around him. He couldn’t even hear Riddler asking him why he cared so much about you, about your life, about your dead body. He was clearly surprised to witness such pain from the Dark Knight. Your death hadn’t been entirely planned but it wasn’t his fault if Batman hadn’t been quick enough, was it?
You were just a casualty, nothing more.
Riddler was starting to connect the dots about Batman’s identity and he was so taken aback that he didn’t realise that Nightwing and Batwoman found him. He was soon enough on the ground, beaten up and tied up. Batwoman took him back to Arkham - she couldn’t stand to stay around - as the rest of the family was slowly gathering around you, or what remains of you. They all started to cry and to collapse on the ground, by Batman’s side. They couldn’t lose their sunshine, they couldn’t lose their mother, they couldn’t lose the person they loved the most. They couldn’t believe that something like that happened. They had worked so hard to find you, protect you.
They failed you.
All of them.
It had to be a nightmare, it couldn’t be reality.
No, no. It couldn’t be you.
They could have stayed like that all night, Bruce tightly hugging you against his chest to prevent the warmth from fully leaving your body. It was then they heard Alfred gently calling out their names. No matter how heartbroken and desperate Alfred was himself, tears silently dripping down his face, he gently reminded them all that they couldn’t stay here. The GCPD was about to arrive and they needed to leave before anyone else could understand what was going on. He also had to remind Batman he needed to leave your body behind. Bruce thought he was going to throw up when he had to let go of you.
“Alfred, I can’t…” Bruce’s broken voice said
“I’m afraid you have to… The GCPD will give her back later on. And we’ll take care of her and her funeral then” Alfred tried to stay logical
The mention of your funeral broke Batman’s legs for a few instants and Dick had to help him stand up. None of them could bear to look at you, but at the same time it felt so wrong to leave you alone in there.
Again.
They didn’t even remember how they managed to come back to the Batcave in one piece. Bruce didn’t know how he managed to take a shower and dress up again, as a civilian this time. He didn’t know how he got enough strength to go to the GCPD and recognise your body. The words “Yes, this is my wife” were the last coherent things he said before starting to silently cry again. Jim Gordon had to help the man get back in his car and asked Alfred to look after his master.
Jim remembered pretty well how Bruce was when his parents died, and he didn’t want to say it, but Bruce looked even worse this time.
The whole family was losing it.
Dick stopped making jokes, laughing, or smiling. He lost another mother. He lost the remains of his innocence.
Barbara was angry. Too angry to be around anyone, to talk to anyone. She blamed herself and wondered if she deserved to still be Oracle.
Jason hid away for a while, not bearing to see anyone either. He tried not to see how alike both your death look like, how he failed you like Batman failed him.
Tim was working on anything he could until losing consciousness from the lack of sleep and food. He needed to forget about this reality and help people.
Stephanie organised your funeral with the help of Alfred. She wanted everything to be perfect for you; you always tried to make things perfect for your family.
Cassandra kept an eye on her whole family, because she couldn’t stand the idea of losing anyone else. And it was obvious they were all falling apart.
Duke started to watch the movies and to read the books you enjoyed and advised him to have a look at. He wished he would have been able to talk about them with you.
Damian was utterly silent. You weren’t his mother, but you always treated him with tenderness and he knew how important you were for everyone. For him.
Alfred thought it was his duty to stay strong, no matter how much he cried at night. He lost his daughter, but he still had a family to care for.
Kate grew half insane with the security of the manor and made sure no one could come and leave the place without her knowing about it.
Lucius and Luke did their best to deal with Wayne Enterprises, so the family could grieve you in “peace”. But they missed you too, dearly.
Everyone felt the burden of the cruel silence your absence created.
Bruce was an even bigger mess. He couldn’t sleep, eat, or do his work anymore. He didn’t care about WE, about the Justice League. What was the point when he had lost his wife? He should have been better.
He went through the whole case over and over again, seeing all the mistakes he made. The mistakes that cost your life. His sanity. His family’s sanity.
Without Alfred and Cass, he wouldn’t have put on his Batman suit anymore. But they reminded him you wouldn’t have wanted that. So he continued to chase crimes.
The crime rate brutally dropped because of how ruthless and merciless Batman seemed to be. Goons started to be afraid of Batman because the vigilante was suddenly more than happy to break every bone in their body. Bruce knew that violence wouldn’t bring you back, and that it wasn’t helping with his grieving or his sanity, but he couldn’t help it.
The day of your funeral, Bruce wished he could have been buried by your side.
You definitely left this Earth with his heart, because the hole inside his chest seemed to grow a little more every second passing by. He was feeling empty and yet full of the worst pain he ever witnessed.
Empty because you weren’t there anymore.
Pain because your absence was unbearable.
He didn’t have the strength to be there for his children. Your death was tearing everyone apart, even if they were gathered around your grave, even if they were all feeling the same pain. Actually the pain was too deep to allow them to soothe their agony in the presence of the other’s.
No one could talk, no one could tell how amazing you had been, how much you had been loved. They couldn’t; the sorrow had taken away their voices.
They hated themselves for not having been there in time to save you; they felt guilty, which was only adding to the suffering of your loss. They hated themselves even more for not being able to cherish you one last time.
They felt like there was no coming back.
There was no way to ever get better.
Happiness was over.
If only they had enjoyed it more. If only they had planned more activities to do with you. If only, if only…
Jason killed Riddler that night. He just couldn’t help it. It felt right to get rid of the man who murdered you. It was the justice you deserved, even if you probably wouldn’t have wanted that. You weren’t here to care about it anymore anyway. The GCPD failed to catch Red Hood. And Batman, for the first time, didn’t come when Jim turned on the bat signal. Jason thought Bruce would at least lecture him about it, but Bruce didn’t say anything.
It didn’t matter. Nothing mattered.
Actually, it did feel right for Riddler to be dead too.
Bruce was watching pictures of you on his phone, tears dropping on his screen.
He heard Damian coming in the living room but he didn’t acknowledge him until Damian whispered “My grandfather might be able to bring her back”.
Hope blossomed again.
Everything was going to be alright.

summary: you never fail to give joshua the best birthday every year, and he hopes to spend them with you forever
warnings: very fluffy, also very suggestive, making out, allusions to sex
an: here’s my real birthday fic for joshy :33 i literally finished ctqy and then started this bc i felt bad making a bday post for him just for it to be so sad… but it’s okay here’s this !!! another gift for my love, joshua. i hope you all like it <3
───── ⋆⋅ ⊹ ⁺ 𐔌 ᩧ ຼ ͡ ৯ ♡໒⁀ ᩧຼ ꒱ིྀ ⁺ ⊹ ⋅⋆ ─────
the morning air is so peaceful, and when joshua wakes up it almost feels like a fairytale.
you’ve opened up the curtains, and lit a few candles matched to his favorite scent, the breeze through the window being the perfect temperature despite it being the dead of winter. after the third call of his name, his eyes open to you, leaning over his frame, with the most beautiful smile in sight. your hair tickles his face, and you’re full of so much light that he doesn’t even know what he’s done to deserve it. what a beautiful way to wake up, he thinks.
“good morning, love.” you coo, stroking his cheek that rises with a smile to return your own.
“good morning.” he backs away for a moment to stretch before sitting up, pulling you into his lap with a kiss.
you lean into his embrace, smiling up at him as you twirl his stray hairs around your finger. “i’ve got so much prepared for you.”
his smile turns a little more mischievous as he leans back, letting the light hit his face better for dramatic effect. “oh, really? what’s the special occasion?”
you know he’s seeking attention, but you’d be mad to not give it to him. “your birthday, of course!” you cheer, straddling his lap to give him just a portion of the many birthday kisses he’d get today. you leave a few on every single spot of his face that you enjoy, which is just about everywhere. a few for his forehead, some for his eyebrows, a couple on his cheeks, and finally, you give him the biggest one atop his gorgeous smile.
he hums, hands finding your hips with ease. “really? i thought it was just a random monday. nothing special.” he teases.
“oh, today’s super special. i’ve made it my job to make sure you feel special today, ‘kay?” you giggle.
he leans in to kiss you once again, holding your lips against his for a sweet moment before pulling away. with a dramatic pout, he continues his teasing, “but baby, i don’t know if you’re doing too good of a job.. i don’t feel so special right now, i think i’ll need a little more convincing…”
without responding, you lean in once again, eyelids drooping as you kiss him once again. he pulls you closer, large hands gripping your skin. you sigh, sinking into his body, and he uses the opportunity to let his tongue into your mouth. his hands begin traveling over every inch of your body, and before you can let out a whine and indulge in his advances, you pull away.
“i’m saving that for the end of the day, okay..? let us celebrate first.” joshua’s affect on you is so strong that kissing him in such a fashion is all it takes to leave you feeling dazed, and he knows it, running a finger over your pink, glossy lips in admiration.
like a switch flips in his head, he’s sitting up, letting you get up before following behind. “alright, darling, let’s go celebrate.”
after collecting yourself, you take his hand and lead him out to the kitchen. on top of the island there’s a plethora of gift bags among the most beautifully decorated cake. in front of it is a letter, and it’s the first thing you lead him to.
you hand it to him before bringing your hands together, fidgeting nervously. “i know i’m not the best at saying this stuff out loud, so i wrote it down. i had to show you my gratitude somehow, and i felt like gifts weren't enough, so…”
it’s almost as if he can’t stop smiling today, and if it could get any bigger it does. with a kiss to your lips, he goes and sits down at the dining table to read it. you follow, sitting on the table in front of him to watch. he rests a hand on your thigh while the other opens up the folded paper, and you can see the shock on his face at the length of its contents.
he says nothing, choosing to read it instead. you poured your entire heart and soul into it, and there’s quite a few tear stains on the paper. at some point the ink from your pen bled due to it, and he asks a few times for you to help decipher what the smudged penmanship means. you haven’t always been the best at expressing your feelings and gratefulness for your boyfriend, yet you have so much to share. after an emotional night post argument a few months ago, you sat down and wrote this out for him. there’s a second paper that you wrote yesterday to follow up, and you can see how touched he is. it’s a bit complicated being with someone so into words of affirmation while not being the type to be that way, but you made sure to give it to him for his special day.
when he finishes reading, he looks back up at you. “wow, darling, this is.. so sweet. i can tell how much thought you put into this, thank you so much.” he stands up to hug you, and with your head in his chest you squeeze him that much harder. he strokes your hair, keeping you there for a beat longer. he walks away to presumably put the letter away somewhere before returning.
“i know that must’ve taken a lot of thought for you to write for me. seriously, it means a lot. thank you, love.” he hugs you once again, kissing you once more before turning to the rest of your setup. “now, let’s celebrate.”
he spends the rest of the day with you, no other people being spared your time, opening gifts and eating his favorite foods with you. not that it’s any different other times, but he pays no mind to his cellphone, spending his special day offline with you, celebrating another year of life by your side, and above his candles he wishes for there to be many more like this.
in the late hours of the night, you’re laying together, skin to skin, basking in the afterglow of your final present to him. it’s then that he expresses his gratitude one final time before falling asleep. “thank you so much for today, love. i enjoyed it so much.”
you kiss his bare chest, too tired to move any more than that. “of course, shua. happy birthday.”
“mm, thank you. i hope i get to spend a thousand more with you.” he grabs your hand, kissing your ring finger. he thinks you say something in response, but he’s already lost in his thoughts, wondering if it’d be too much to give you a ring the next day, new year’s eve, to make sure his wish comes true.
