Ultra’s Ramblings; The Deal with Glimmet and Glimmora

Are ya ready, kids?

Out of all the Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet that I love, a few do come to mind; Skeledirge, Tinkaton, Lokix, Clodsire, etc. However, there are a couple of these new ‘Mons that I simply obsess over, both being on the same level as such past favorites like Pincurchin. Who are they, you may ask? Well…

Coming in at #969 and #970 respectively on the National Pokedex, Glimmet and Glimmora are some of the most alien-looking of all Pokemon, which is why I love them to smithereens. The main goal of this post is to break down not only their design origins and inspirations, but also why I love them so much, and to the point of the whole line now being some of my favorite Pokemon in the entire franchise.

Imagine if you saw someone with one of these as a pet. Just walking their crystal flower monster down the street for a walk. That’d make one hell of a Sunday morning, I tell ya much

Starting off with in-game lore, both Glimmet and Glimmora are classified as the “Ore Pokemon''. While plenty of Glimmets are able to be found on the surface of Paldea, Area Zero is the only place in the entire region to find wild Glimmora. The main diet of Glimmet and Glimmora are minerals that they get from sticking themselves into the walls of caves. While Glimmet is able to float in place, Glimmora does so by moving, closing, and adjusting its six, glossy petals. Glimmet’s main line of defense is scattering poisonous powder from its petals, while Glimmora is able to fire beams of energy with not only its own petals, but also its glassy, cone-shaped face. Despite how their bodies resemble the Terastal phenomenon, there is currently no leading evidence to suggest that the line has anything to do with it.

Judging by the lore presented here, the Glimet line seems to be going into a role not unlike Carbink. Maybe they’re related to the unknown Pokemon at the very bottom of Area Zero, similar to how Carbink is to Diancie. We’ll just have to wait and see if the inevitable DLC covers that.

Now getting into the meat and potatoes of all of this, Glimmet and Glimmora have alot of inspirations with their design, maybe even more than first thought. As the picture above shows, not only are these Pokemon based on plants like the deadly nightshade and Passiflora caerulea, they’re also based on a toxic mineral known as Chalcanthte (Or simply copper(II) sulfate). Not only does the former explain the flowery shape of these Pokemon, the nightshade does help with the Poison type, as it’s poisonous itself. The relation to copper sulfate that these Pokemon share is how the mineral is not only blue, it’s also very toxic. These blue crystals are absolutely bad to be around, with it even leaving debris that is very dangerous to be around. That alone sounds very similar to the Glimmet line’s signature ability; Toxic Debris. If one of these Pokemon gets hit, they’ll leave out Toxic Spikes, making them threatening lead Pokemon to face in battle (Which is something that Geeta apparently never thought of when using her Glimmora).

Now, we’ve now covered the 2 main things that make Glimmet and Glimmora….well, Glimmet and Glimmora. However, what if I told you that wasn’t the end of it. Have you ever thought that these two weirdos kinda feel like they’d fit in within the deep sea? As it turns out, there’s a very, very good reason for that…

That’s right! We’re finally at our first-ever sponge Pokemon! And it’s not even the reef sponges that so many people are familiar with. The Glimmet line is based on various deep-sea sponges belonging to the Cladorhizidae family. Unlike their more spongy-looking relatives in surface waters, these sponges take on more alien-looking shapes and lifestyles, with many of them even being active predators! Both the harp sponge and ping-pong sponge, two species that many deep-sea enthusiasts (Such as myself) are very familiar towards, come to mind when discussing this family, and many species even look like strange, ethereal, undersea flowers, just like Glimmet and Glimmora!

The Pokemon’s conical faces even look like they could be from a deep-sea environment, with Area Zero basically being a terrestrial counterpart to that. If I can be frank here, the faces are the biggest reason why I love these two. They just carry that strange, vague, alienness that few other Pokemon have, like the Ultra Beasts. And get this; sponges usually defend themselves with mineralized spicules made up of the same silica that sponges are made of. That drives home the Toxic Debris ability even more!

At the end of the day, Glimmora has taken the spot of my personal favorite Pocket Monster, an honor usually aimed towards the likes of Pincurchin and such. As much as I am a fan of Bogleech, I feel like these guys are to me as Trubbish and Garbodor are to him (And despite him not having to get around to these guys in his reviews yet, he’s said that he’s in love with Glimmora) As much as Geeta’s team sucked, I honestly hope that its inclusion in said team is what kick starts Glimmora’s rise to fame, alongside other Gen 9 ‘Mon like Tinkaton, Clodsire, and Maushold. If there was a spot for a Pokemon this alien to ride alongside the big boys, the funny crystal-flower-sponge things have a decent spot of earning that title.

originally I had a concept I was going to post about "Teen Akeshu Daughter from the future gets sent to the past during P5R", but I got preoccupied.

She tries to play matchmaker to get Akiren and Akechi on the right path. But she also can't risk revealing who she is, Akechi and Akiren don't know what to think of her. To them, she comes across as an unhinged Akechi fan that ships him with the Phantom Thief Leader for some reason, and is from the future, and looks like a mix of both of them if they squint real hard.

Akechi especially finds her irritating, and finds her very selective sharing of who she is very suspicious, and isn't buying her surname being “Akagi”. His detective senses are ringing like sirens that “🚨 THIS FUTURISTIC BITCH IS SUSPICIOUS AS FUCK! SHE’S CLEARLY NOT BEING TRUTHFUL IN THE SLIGHTEST, DO NOT TRUST, ALSO HIGHLY ANNOYING AND EVASIVE, MUST KEEP WATCH OF SUSPICIOUS TEENAGER! 🚨

So when Komari joins the Phantom Thieves in battle, and the rare instance where Akechi briefly takes over as Navigator, he especially makes his irritation of her known and just how much he doesn't give a shit what happens to her in battle.

“Akagi-san’s health is down. Heal her I guess~” 

“What a tragedy, Akagi-san has perished.” 

“Oh, Akagi-san is fully healed and ready to continue to grace us with her presence~”

Granted,the fact that he’s destined to eventually have intercourse that leads to knocking up his rival is—-alot to take in—-. but this is his daughter. His future flesh and blood, he—oh he feels like such a piece of shit 🤦. Curse his trust issues and natural skepticism, he was a fucking dick, how is he going to fix this? 

The “Daughter Reveal” makes him take a 180 in his behavior towards her. Something just clicks and “Fuck this annoying suspicious little shit.” Turns into “I've only known Komari for a couple of months, but if anything were to happen to her, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.” With zero warning.

The first time Komari gets severely injured in battle, Akechi practically teleports to her side and catches her in his arms. “JOKER, YOU BETTER HAVE A FULL HEAL ITEM ON HAND, USE ONE OF THOSE WEIRD DRUGS FROM TAKEMI-SENSEI YOU BOUGHT, HURRY! YOU'RE NOT LOOKING FAST ENOUGH YOU ONLY HAVE TWO POCKETS IN THAT COAT, HOW COULD YOU MISPLACE IT?! THE LONGER YOU TAKE FAILING TO FIND IT THE CLOSER MARI-CHAN GETS TO THE AFTERLIFE, ARE YOU THIS UNPREPARED AND USELESS WHEN THE REST OF YOUR TEAM IS IN DANGER?!”

After a successful battle and if Komari's Persona levels up and gains a new ability, the in-game dialogue would be Proud Dad Akechi complimenting and drawing attention to it. Pretty much a more aggressive version of Prince attire Akechi leveling up. “Everyone, look! I gained a new ability. :) “

“Hey, everyone pay attention, what, were you all raised in a barn? Mari-chan gained a new ability.” 

“JOKER LOOK!---” Physically forces Joker's head to face Komari and her Persona (Even though he was already looking). “MARI GAINED A NEW ABILITY! OCTOBER READS 📚

Another productive reading month for me! Manhua/Manhwa binge again and for those who are interested in what titles I tried, then this is the post for you. I don’t know what the next months will bring but I wanna get back to reading novels… we will see how that goes. for now, I just feel thankful that these works are out in the world for people to enjoy ^^

• The Tyrant Prince’s Last Promise ( Chapter 74 ; Ongoing )

Adapted from the novel, “the wife is first” so I see why there are alot of people following the manhua. Jing Shao ( MC ) is a prince who is good at battles and was made to marry a male concubine Han ( ML ). He didn’t treat him well for years but Han stayed by his side even if he was sentenced to death and was accused of so many things. Right before they died, he promised to treat Han better.

So his wish gets granted and he goes back to their wedding night. Then the whole story focuses on their relationship and how Jing Shao pays his dues and tries to be the best husband for Han. He also tries to make different decisions to prevent him from falling from grace like before. This story is just so fluffy and sweet <3 and i love their chibi versions! ☺️☺️☺️ I might read the novel to see where it goes but i have to say it’s a standard trope — and i will never get tired of it.

Guilty Affection ( Chapter 47 ; Ongoing )

Esper/Guide trope but this one is more problematic. LOL. The MC, Han Yoonjae is an undocumented Esper and living his life as a normal person. There is some mystery from his past because you can tell that he is strong but decided to leave his life as an Esper. Then here comes the ML, Cha Minhyung. A popular & strong guide who comes to his life and offers to be his guide and make his life better. These two have a shared past and the story tries to uncover that. Also what will happen to Yoonjae and his power. I really like his power, and I understand why he will be someone that everyone will want to control. The relationship between them is not really the “romance” type but more co-dependence and lots of smut.

Crushing Jade & Catching Pearls Chapter 51 ; Ongoing

This one is very unique, I have never read something with this plot. It is modern era, but the MC/ML both work as apprentices for an old art of sculpting. Tho the ML ( Ding Hanbai ) is much older and is more accomplished in the field. It’s really more of the relationship between the MC & ML and less “romance” so far. I feel like some people will find it boring, but there is something about it that draws me to it. and it doesn’t hurt that the art is pretty. Ding Hanbai starts off as an asshole who bullies the MC Ji Zhenzhu — but then they slowly become closer. The MC who is the goodest boy with puppy energy melts Ding Hanbai’s heart 💕

No arguing with Mr.Mo Chapter 71 ; Ongoing

The trope of Mr. Cold hearted CEO who is actually a simp for the MC is not new and I usually like it — I often root for the MC and hope they get together. But in this one, I find myself liking the ML ( Mr.Mo ) waaaay more than the MC. To the point that I don’t think the MC deserves Mr.Mo at all. I get that Xiao Nuo have some trauma and baggage of his own but his drama over nothing just irritates me. Mr.Mo is straightforward and clear with his intentions, but MC takes advantage of him, willingly or not, is not my cup of tea.

I won’t be continuing on, or if i do, maybe it’s to see Mr. Mo’s panels.

Hard Boiled Love Chapter 93 ; Ongoing

I only finished up until Chapter 40 cause I felt like there is nothing else for me as a reader to see, plot-wise. I could be wrong but maybe I will pick it up again when i’m in the mood. This is popular, and i understand why, the trope is catchy : Rich kid and his Bodyguard, then add BDSM into the mix. Boom! There is just no way that people will not click and read. It is a good read and enjoyable but I wasn’t in the headspace for that type of smut, the interaction of the MC/ML tho are sweet!!!! 💕

What captured me tho is the ML. Hwayoung Yoon. He is a lovable psychopath. He gave off so much Hisoka vibes ( from the anime hunterxhunter if you didn’t know ) and this type of character would do so well if done in live action. How he seems to be this sweet boy that his family dotes on but is secretly a sadistic bastard. I mean, look at him as a kid:

A master manipulator.

The MC too, Gyuwon, is well written. He is an ex mercenary who really wants to be someone’s sub ( in a sense ) but he doesn’t think that will happen because of how he looks. People have expectations of how he should be but lo and behold, he meets the fucked up Hwayoung. 😂😂😂 it’s more light and funny considering the subject — they could make the plot really dark, so i’m glad they didn’t.

Campus Trap Chapter 24; Ongoing

AHHHHHHHHHH! My new favorite. The omegaverse hoe in me is screaming! 🤍 too bad there are only a few chapters out. I honestly want to read the novel which is already completed but i’m still trying to figure out how to navigate korean sites. The plot of the story may seem dramatic to some, because it’s all about the MC (Chaewoo) who is an Omega and trying to make ends meet. He was once this kid who lived a pampered life but things changed and now he is a struggling student. One day, his Uncle, told him about the concept of a reset partner, which is kinda like a surrogate. So a dominant omega like him will be a surrogate to a rich dominant Alpha. He agrees and finds out that the Alpha is someone he goes to school with — Mister popular, Euigeon. It doesn’t help he doesn’t like the guy and Chaewoo is even jealous of his “success” cause he feels like he will be the same way if unfortunate events didn’t happen to him.

I LOVE IT. I LOVE THEM. The campus setting and the two being music students is also a bonus, it’s only beginning to be explored and I wanna see more. They have great chemistry and the way I squealed during the car scene. 😱😱😱 it’s also the type of story where I can’t wait for the ML to fall for the MC. I’m reading about Euigeon being this arrogant bitch to Chaewoo and i’m like— can’t wait to see you fall head over heels and regret your actions. It’s nothing abusive, if anything, I feel like his actions are reasonable cause he doesn’t want to make their relationship complicated. It’s supposed to be a business transaction. I wanna know more about ML too cause i’m sure he has so many issues that caused him to be this way. I have spoiled myself a by reading comments on the novel but i will surely keep an eye out on this till it’s completion.

Miss you, Lucifer 15 chapters ; Completed

A short Manhwa that is full of uwu and love! 🥹🥹🥹

If you want something to lift your mood up then this is the best pick. Honestly! It had everything: romance, comedy, angst and some plot in there even if it’s only 15 chapters. The premise is an “idol” from a boy group that’s not popular x A-list actor pairing. I don’t wanna spoil too much cause it’s better to just dive into it, and like i said, it’s not that long.

Business as Unusual 15 Chapters ; Completed

Another short one that I enjoyed. 💕

Tho i’m not a believer of getting back together with your ex. Lol. That’s the story here. MC/ML were a thing back in college and because of a misunderstanding they “broke up”. Years later, they meet again as office mates and rekindle their romance. I’m happy for the characters because they had a second chance at love and are now at a better place to stay together.

Considering the length of this, there was one scene that really stuck with me. The two are walking on the street late at night and ML is chasing the MC, he wants to talk but the MC won’t listen so he shouts:

“HEY! MY FIRST LOVE KIM MINJUN!” 🗣️🗣️🗣️

It’s so funny considering why it was said, to get someone’s attention — but also so romantic. It is like a scene in a k-drama.

Tied To You 64 Chapters ; Completed

I feel so lucky that I found this title in it’s completion cause i would absolutely go nuts if I had to wait, to find out what’s gonna happen next. As soon as I started, I couldn’t stop and took me 5 hours to finish the whole thing. So worth it. This kind of Manhwa is the reason why I keep reading, hoping that I will find something like this. It’s really something special. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

the synopsis is as follows:

It’s only sleeping together while holding hands, nothing else. That’s what Shin Wooseo tells himself when a red ring that ties a person to their soulmate appears on his finger one day. Once two people get tied by the ring, they cannot fall asleep unless they’re physically together. However, his destined partner isn’t his long-term friend and secret crush, Kang Jiseok, but rather his older brother, Kang Jigeon! And so starts the tragedy of loving one brother but having to share beds with the other. Although, it might not entirely be a tragedy, as Kang Jigeon doesn’t seem so disappointed about being tied to his younger brother’s best friend…

I don’t usually go for love triangle tropes, but this one is not really that kind of love triangle. The strength of this Manhwa is the storytelling. Every panel & interactions served a purpose. As a reader, you are pulled in and can’t help but want to know more. I also appreciated that we can see the perspectives of 3 different people, but moreso on the MC/ML. I liked the concept of “love” that was portrayed too — it’s something that you have to work and fight for. It’s a conscious choice and not all sweet gestures.

Now i wanna spotlight the ML, KANG JIGEON 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 If I was to rank my fave MLs from all the stuff I read, he would easily be in the Top 10. He is manipulative but in the best way because all he does is for Wooseo to pay more attention to him. I have to say that he ultimately sets up the “scene” but most of the time the choice is still with Wooseo. His devotion is very real and his approach to fighting for his love is ( to me personally ) admirable! GO GET YOUR BOY! I’m not even mad at him.

I’ve been wanting to read a character like him, a chaotic good if you will, and that’s probably why this made such an impact on me. It was hilarious seeing the comments of readers in the early chapters being sus about Jigeon and thinking he is gonna be an asshole ML. In the middle, they were confused whether to love or hate him and the schemes. Towards the end, everyone was cheering for Jigeon and applauding him. Lol. I guess he was successful in making the readers fall in love too. ❤️

The King and Me Chapter 36; Ongoing

The story is very unique, atleast to me, cause I haven’t read anything set in Ancient Egypt + Time travel. There is also some heavy plot aside from the romance and every character here is just beautiful and badass!!!! The first few chapters broke my heart. I swear. It was effective in setting up the MC’s quest and why he is so stubborn when he goes back in time. What he is after is so important. 💪🏼

I adore the MC (Zhang Li)!!! He is so smart and determined to find out the truth about his “Rocky” and the tyrant king. His circumstances are not the best, but he tries to adapt and is not some love sick fool. Even if the main reason that he is there is because of love. This story is still in it’s early stages and I feel like it could easily go up to 150++ chapters because of the plot and well, the progression of MC/ML relationship. It’s also a slowburn so if that’s your thing, you would enjoy this.

Manhattan Romance Chapter 40; Ongoing

This reads like the kind of novel set in a specific city, in this case, NY, and two people meet each other and fall in love. Of course there are challenges and issues between the characters and their environment but the central story is their relationship. I think people who will read this would want to be the MC (Hyeon), in a way, all because of how much the ML (Luwan) dotes on him. Hyeon has his own issues and he is a precious bean that is too good for this world! I’m so happy that Luwan is the person who “caught” him and not some toxic shit. Let them live in their penthouse and be happy, Let Hyeon paint more masterpieces and the two of them to travel the world. ❤️

Ordinary life of a Universal Guide Chapter 61; Completed

Because i’m a sucker for esper/guide universe I had to pick it up. There is really nothing “special” with the plot, it’s the usual for the trope. My comments sounds like i hated it or something lol but the truth is — it’s alright. I picked this up after reading really good ones ( tied to you & the king and me ) so this was an in between read. I can’t always be that lucky.

The Third Ending Chapter 67; Completed

OMG how do I even begin to describe this perfection. I’ve been seeing this on other people’s list but for some reason I kept putting it off. Funny how I always manage to “start” reading something really good just before bedtime — which delays the “sleeping” I should be doing 😂😂😂

First of all, I love the art. It reminds me of Omega Complex that was so pretty so that helped a lot. 🫶🏼

Synopsis:

Suh Yoonseul has had life easy—everyone likes him, he’s good at his job, basically everything has always worked out as smooth as butter. However, there’s something that brings all of his good luck down, and it’s the infrequent dreams he has of Kang Joon. Who knew that rejecting a guy once would hang so heavy on your life? To make things worse, after he runs into Joon the dreams keep on coming daily. At his wit’s end, Yoonseul takes some advice from a friend so that he can free himself from this jinx. It’s simple. Make Kang Joon think that he’s a nice person. That can’t be hard, right?

Yoonseul is one of my favorite MCs. He’s a chronic people pleaser and has this perfect facade that he presents to everyone. So when he remembers being mean ( showing his true self ) back in high school to someone who confessed to him — he can’t let it go. It was so fun to see him suffer when it comes to winning Joonie over ( AHHHHHH Joonie is the most precious and can do no wrong!!! ) because tbh his intentions weren’t good. He is selfish. The entire season 1 was such a treat. Seeing their relationship progress and I— I don’t wanna spoil anymore but this could easily be a kdrama. There was that scene in the snow. AHHHHH! I was screaming while reading it! Lol. Season 2 is sweeter and more on fluff, by that time, you’re already so invested on them that you don’t care about any plot. Personally, what I loved about this is their mutual obsession towards each other. I’m a fan of that. I like tropes that are about “fated pairs” or something similar.

Between the Lines Chapter 20 ; ongoing

Not gonna say too much about this and I encourage people to wait for more chapters but it has a solid start. The MC/ML are both likable. Especially the MC. The premise is also hilarious, cause MC is a bl writer who is having a writer’s block and needs an inspiration for his protagonist. Here comes ML, who acts like Mr.Perfect ( but he isn’t ) and inspires him. There is so much more going on here that I feel like will be explored more as the story progresses so i’ll definitely come back to it.

Necromancer Survival 79 chapters ; 2 seasons completed and s3 is TBA

I had no idea what was in store for me when I decided to pick this up. I have a thing for necromancers and this one has the whole “dungeons” concept to it so I was down. But like — this probably ruined every other story for me. In a good way. Now I want a plot-heavy type of story with the romance as a bonus only. All I’ve been reading so are heavy on the romance & relationship, this has that element too but you get really invested with the plot.

Synopsis:

When the weak and unconfident Choi Yikyung first found out that he was a user, he thought he had finally hit the jackpot. In Yikyung’s mind, Necromancy seemed like the ultimate mix of cool and interesting. Back then, he had no idea that the Necromancer class was the weakest of them all! But as Yikyung enters the newly reopened Tower of Spirits in search of enhancement materials, he is sucked into a mysterious area of the dungeon where he encounters a frightening corpse. “Ding!” A quest window pops up, and it says… “You have made a pact with Seo Dawon, a vengeful spirit.” When tackling quests, it doesn’t hurt to have a companion or two, especially if one of them is the spirit of an ultra powerful and handsome young man. After all, “it’s dangerous to go alone”!

Don’t let the art fool you. It’s not some bright and shiny story. I made the mistake of thinking it’s gonna be some g rated adventure story lol It’s literally a necromancer whose goal is to make a master/slave pact with all the members of a dead team. He has to fulfill their wishes and help them get their revenge— which means killing a lot of people. It comes with a price, because every summoning is making him weaker in some aspects. Also no one knows what the true power of a necromancer is so whatever it is he’s doing — they don’t know what will happen to him in the long run. I freakin love the concept and how it’s mixed in with the romance. Is Seo Dawon only attracted to Yikyung because he is his master or are these real feelings? How will this relationship even work when one of them is Dead? A huge bonus too are how likable the other characters are. Especially Jung Garam!!! 🫶🏼

I hope the Manhwa continues cause I wanna see them get that revenge! 💪🏼 I wanna know too if Yikyung’s power will allow him to resurrect people and if so, what’s the payment?

I see lots of comments that say this adaptation does not live up to the novel & source material. Which i get it — a Manhwa will have restrictions, especially on the themes. The novels seems more gruesome and explicit ( not the sexual kind ) which usually has to be toned down for a Manhwa to get a license. Plus from what I can tell, the Novel is like 500 chapters ++ with a concept so niche and is for a specific type of reader. So yeah… I’m not sure if I will pick up the novel. I don’t have that urge yet, tho I am very interested in the censored scenes and if it’s really as dark as people are saying it is. I have a feeling it’s right up my alley. && I read some comments that Yikyung gets more dangerous as the story progresses ( getting corrupted by the summoning and the practice of necromancy ). I’m very curious! 👀

This is the perfect spooky + sexy read for the season we’re in right now. From the first page down to the end, I can’t stop reading and wanting to know what happens next. It perfectly captures that eerie feeling, even if there are a lot of explicit scenes, it’s still there. The author really planned this well and the artist perfectly executed it. I don’t explain more because it’s best to go into this blind and experience the story for yourself. Highly recommend ✨✨

ok well first of all hes in. the rg codex supplement (8th) and ik hes mentioned in the space marine codices but i dont own them and finding pdfs isnt the easiest thing in the world (if anyone has the 5th and 4th ed ones id like to read them ToT or at least just screenshots of the raven pages or smth) the legends: shrike novella, and the short story shadow stalker. hes probably mentioned in some other stuff but as much as i want to hunt it all down because of my issues of the mind, i dont think i will be able to. coz its hard to find this stuff digitally and i dont rly wanna spend the money just to learn that hes mentioned like Once and its something i already know. i also wanna say im not like umm. well i wouldnt call myself new anymore but im definitely not like a 40k veteran. just laser focused on necrons, raven guard, and night lords. so if ive missed stuff or gotten something wrong then, u know. im getting thru stuff. i also thought abt ummm. posting screenshots of book stuff to back myself up but i dont know if thats. uhh. idk. is that too much. i dunno. i HAVE them and can get some other specific ones if anyone wants them. and obviously i can say what book theyre from and get the chapter number (not page number tho i read the chapters as big blocks rather than page by page)

anyway. the thing that sort of captured my attention at first abt him is his self destructive humility. or likeeee. almost what looks like a naked desire to die in battle, but not for personal honour or glory ('honour' as a concept in rg itself is honestly a very interesting topic to me anyway). hes just so driven and committed to the cause that if him dying to accomplish a goal or finish the mission is the easiest and most efficient way of doing that, then he thinks about it and commits to it and noone can talk him down. carefully considered recklessness is what i started calling it. he genuinely thinks about all the pros and cons and then does it anyway because his own life as the price is so easy for him to commit. and i think its super fun that hes aware of this shortcoming and its part of why he wants to find someone more suitable as chapter master (this is mentioned in the codex supplement). but SPECIFICALLY because the old master of shadows, severax, did a suicidal assassination attempt that failed and shrike looked at that and knew he wouldve done the same. because he has. in his novella. THREE times against the SAME ORK. and somehow just keeps Not Dying. silly guy... hes silly... i love him so much ToT i LIKE it about him because it feels so strange considering what hes normally like. hes hotheaded. hes highly motivated and driven and doesnt lose hope (again an interesting topic for rg coz of all the 'hope is pointless' stuff). ud think someone like that would have a rly strong drive to keep living and a survival instinct. and he does to some degree but the selflessness takes over or something. but a selflessness tht prioritises them all as an organisation? i mean this Should be normal for imperium anyway and it might be more common than im thinking, i honestly havent read a alot of imperium stuff coz i dont really care about it ! shrike to me is like 'hatred of the imperium leaving my body when i see a cute emoboy with weird issues in his head'. im a sucker for dudes that are quiet bt have that sort of burning passion inside and the fact that its entirely on the behalf of his brothers is too much. also its not totally related but something abt him in the supplement that i LOVED is an anecdote about imperial fists and iron hands having an argument over a tech relic powering a planets shields and shrike comes in and destroys it without either of them knowing so that theyre forced to stop arguing. its that simple logic. hes the type of guy that sees the shortest path to getting stuff done and just does it, regardless of the fallout. no overthinking or figuring stuff out slowly, u see an opportunity to solve a problem u take it right then and there. cut the bullshit i want you etc etc. i love this too in the novella coz even before hes promoted to captain hes arguing with his superiors about how they should keep going no matter the cost and take the shortest and most dangerous path. and another thing. he refuses every attempt at assigning him some honour or award or whatever and like u just KNOW its coz hes like 'well it wasnt me it was all of us together' or something. kayvaan 'i love my bros so much i could (and will) die' shrike

which i guess leads me to ummm. this part! similarities to corax. im STILL getting through horus heresy stuff but the more i read the more similarities i notice but theyre all like. weird picks. like i get that they probably wanted to make a chapter master that felt like corax, for multiple reasons, but they picked some Weird traits to carry over. like i dont think i would call corax hotheaded at all. hes very restrained and definitely does anger (especially when it involves the lycaeus-born ravens and the raptors) but hes too good at keeping a cap on it. to the point that i think this is ultimately his downfall. tho thats, personally speaking and im not like a Massive corax fan i just know him a little. im not staying over at his house for him. im getting chased out of his sons window in the morning instead. ...anyway. the point is that hes much more reserved and restrained. but because of that he also has the belief that there will come a time when hes able to withdraw and let someone else lead the ravens while he does... whatever he wants i guess? i havent seen it mentioned which is a shame coz it would change things a lot depending on what he intends to do. anyway this is mentioned in a lot of the things ive read with him actually. this is a trait he shares with shrike. but because of the differences in circumstance its connotation feels really different. like corax is a primarch, hes sort of marked out no matter what he does afterwards, and hes not rly like ummm. an arts and humanities guy like some of the others. on top of not even realising that hes reinforcing the tyranny that he fought to destroy on his own world. but thats a different topic entirely lol (one that i LIKE because i love tragic irony and the way he seems oblivious to it coz at the time he was so excited over meeting his new brothers (this is from deliverance lost)). anyway god that was a tangent, the POINT was that shrike also wants to give up his role and let someone else be master of shadows because hes too aware of how his recklessness isnt suitable for a leader at that level and has split the chapter up to hopefully have them all hardened and capable and able to take over for him. and then u just know hes gonna go back to trying to kill himself for the cause all the time until it finally sticks. shrike has that clear goal and hes picking the shortest path to it as usual. whereas corax broods a little more and maybe overthinks things. so its the same self awareness and the same wanting to withdraw from their positions but for totally different reasons, and i rly like the contrast. also its just Comical how corax has to tell his legionaries to simmer down and that "victory is its own revenge" instead of running off to kill some specific guys you hate. and then on the other side u have 'shadow captain maybe this isnt a good idea' 'shadow captain you will die' 'shadow captain ple-' and hes gone. hes already gone. hes jumping into his own death again. and shrike DOES HAVE corax's levelheadedness but theyre used to nefarious ends of him thinking about the stupid thing hes gonna do and then doing it anyway. hes using all of his traits from corax for silly things.

Once he does, he let's you hang out with him alot in his room, where he tries finding something on your twin in the archives. Is his way of comforting you, as he indirectly promises you that he'll help you find your twin this way. He doesn't notice his growing feelings for you either, so you might have to confess first eventually.

He's very protective of you and always keeps his eyes on you one way or another. He doesn't let anything hurt you and has your back during any battles you may have. You can count on him to keep you safe that's for sure.

She doesn't let you on missions without her and she rarely does them as is, so you won't ever be in harms way. She wants you to live a comfortable and peaceful life on the Express, free of any stress or worries.

Welt understood how you felt and therefore offered to help you out with anything you may need. That also included comforting you, when you were devastated about your lost twin. He promised, to help you find them and actually has a high chance of achieving that.

Any questions you may have are answered by him with ease, you could practically listen to him talk all day and you do, whenever he explains something to you. He'll be painfully aware of his feelings for you, but will only admit them to you, once he knows you feel the same.

Summary: A small dog whistle Wild finds at a merchant's stall quickly becomes his favorite tool to tease his mentor with - Twilight’s reactions to it are too funny to pass up on. And no matter the glares he receives, they both know it’s all just in good fun. It's harmless. Until it isn’t.

2. Deserving by Crimson Ravioli

Summary: Rusl hadn't known the wolf was his son when he'd brandished his torch against it. Twilight needs him to know about the scar it left to finally move past what happened that night. A long overdue talk takes place between a father and a son when the Chain find themselves back in Ordon Village. Colin overhears the worst parts of it.

1. The Midnight Hours (this one does also focus a lot of Time)

Summary: Time didn’t know what to do, nothing was working, no potion or amount of healing magic Hyrule poured into Twilight was making any difference. Time’s worried that Twilight isn’t going to recover, but he has to push his own worries aside to make sure the others are also alright. (A fic about what happens between Sunset part 14 and Dawn part 1)

2. Dog Days

Summary: After a long battle that left everyone injured and exhausted, Twilight can’t stop worrying over Time. Warriors takes Wolfie for a bath to distract him, and the two of them play around a bit in the water on a hot day. (or Wolfie gets a bath and then some hugs because he earned them)

3. 2 A.M. Shenanigans (this one also has a lot of Wars and Sky)

Summary: Twilight had been resting all day and he was starting to get bored. Problem is, Wild is dead asleep on top of him and he can’t move. Warriors and Sky rescue him from where he’s stuck, and the three of them take time to relax and unwind by running around outside in the dead of night.

Vaugly related to my fanfic

Tetrology of Fallot (tof): congenital (born with it) heart defect that is basically 4 defects in 1 (I do not have the energy to look up or type all those scientific words rn so sorry)

I've had 3 open heart surgeries to fix it o e at 8 days 10 months and 5 years

Died 6 times on the second one 😃

Ngl life isn't too different with it

If you don't count the yearly doctor visits and can't play contact sports

I mean there's more to it that that obviously but it's mainly small things like getting out of breath quicker and I bruise easy because of having to take baby asprin

BUT the doctors ORIGINALLY said I was never gonna be able to walk or talk or do anything for myself

God vetoed that decision 😌

NOW I NEVER SHUT UP 😁

Got a nifty battle scar down my chest as a souvenir ☺️

And I used to be called smurf baby cause I turned blue alot

I make jokes about it now (hush I'm allowed to )

Ngl pretty sure I'm short cause failure to thrive as a baby cause of that 😭

Don't think there's any scientific backing on that tho for tof patients

Imperferated anus + colostomy bag: basically means I was born without a butthole

Not even joking on that i wasnt

But had to have three gastrointestinal surgeries from that

Don't know the ages or many details but I'm pretty sure I was two for the last one

And I had to have a colostomy bag

Thankfully don't remember it

Buy my waste went into a bag that had to be changed out

Ik it got infected so the scar is bugger than it should be

Seizures: if you've read my fanfic that's explained in detail for how it feels

But that was from aged 5-10

We never found the specific reasons for it

But we do hypothesize it has something tk do with possible scar tissue on my brain

Either from a heart attack/stroke/lack of oxygen from my second heart surgery is what we think it could be from

During a seizure my heart would start beating weird (not good description ik but idk how to describe it really) and my vision would start to tunnel out my tongue would tingle and then I'd black out

During a seizure I couldn't hear anything or see anything but my head would completely start to tingle

From my parents I was told during them I would stiffen up and lock my joints and almost seem to hyperventilate

It was control moderately well by medicine but I thankfully do not have them anymore

Hard hearing: im not like deaf or anything nor do I use hearing aids but my hearing isn't what it should be for a normal teenager lol

This is because during one of my heart surgeries they gave me a drug used on horses and a little too much if it at that (ketamine?)

Legally blind: yeah come to find out last year found out my eye sight is actual crap

Without my glasses I am legally blind

I've got 20/200 vision 😭

So I've got these crazy thick glasses now

Tourretts: neurological disorder where I make these random noises and movents

Got diagnosed back in sixth grade

My tics ate ill make various sounding noises (all kinda of variations of a hiccup for visualization) and my head will jerk back

It was awful before we found out what it was

Got picked on for it quite a bit and a certain teacher of mine essentially told me "just stop bro lol" and I'd get sent out of class for it even after we had doctor notes for it

Just get up out of that wheel chair then then buddy ☺️

They'd get set off my certain things

Music being one of them so I would carry around these earbuds when there was music around so it didn't get set off

I'm on medicine now for it and it's a LOT better

And a recent development (in the past 6 months) I've been able to listen to music again!

The tourretts aren't going away tho

If over been without medicine for more than 2 days it's BAD

Ovarian cyst (possible pcos?) : this has happened over this summer so you already got some rants on that lol

Buy I've got an 8cm cyst on my left ovary

Hurts like a beach 😃

In fact this Friday I was holed up in my room hyped up on narcotics cause of it

I'm a fujo since 2017. I watched bl animes, bl dramas, read bl mangas, bl manhwas. I have alot ships, from kpop idols, also anime characters. I'm kagehina, kagakuro, also makoharu shipper.

I watched naruto shippuden few times with concept "too much information for a single marathon, this 2nd one i'm gonna see from another pov and learn about each characters' stories"

I once liked the final couple, i have no complain when naruto married hinata and sasuke have a daughter with sakura. It was my 20 y.o

But, as i watched naruto once again this year, this january, in my over 25 y.o, when i tried to look closely for what is happening in every chapter, when i tried to look from wider pov, when i dived deep into their conversations and monologues, i knew this is the LOVE in my vocabulary.

The momentum? When naruto begging down to raikage with helpless wish, despair, frustate. This boy whom i belive always have a way out, always have high pride so nobody look down on him, that day, that winter day when thick snow fallen, prostrated. Begging to have mercy for his 'criminal' friend.

He said, it might catch a war between villages, but whole konoha (even his other friends) just ready to kill sasuke when they needed to. Naruto had belive, but it's only him.

Even gaara had no word to say.

I was questioning 'why?'

Naruto put his pride somewhere else, for sasuke. For someone he talked with only for few months in genin era. Naruto obssession is insane. What is he trying to proof? He had a bunch of friends in village. A lot.

And after that, i have different pov.

Narusasu is LOVE for me.

Not only them as character, but their story.

I also learn more about sasuke story, his trauma, his past, his anger, his obssession, his frustation, his confussions, also his love to uchiha and itachi.

In a world full of lie (sasuke grown up with itachi's lie that he hate sasuke) sasuke needed something certain. As stubbron and strong as naruto words to never give up on him. Naruto's assurance that sasuke was not alone. Even if they have to fight, sasuke will die with him. As naruto annoyed him all the time (me myself can't even handle it he's just so annoying) but sasuke read it.

And in VOTE2, i kinda realize sasuke was never meant to kill naruto. All he did just to make himself sure. He was fighting while thinking. He was fighting while finding. He needed a certain answer. He needed an assurance. That his life no longer a lie. But maybe, if naruto words turn different, sasuke will no longer hanging his hope on naruto and killed that boy.

So, even after they lost their arms, sasuke kept asking. Because that's what was happening inside his head. He was screaming asked naruto to just give up, just let him go, as he wished naruto would say yes and he'll buried his hope on the only person he ever hang his hope to. If naruto did it, his reason will be answered completly, clearly.

He would burn konoha and every villages.

But naruto gave exactly what sasuke needed: NEVER GIVE UP ON ME

Sasuke was enough with naruto's assurance. He even planned to killed himself after the fight. He didn't need anything else. His confussion already find the answer.

Sasuke said he'd lost to naruto, but i think it means he had enough. It could be he didn't want to fight anymore, he admited naruto win this battle, he gave up.

Sooo.. what exactly i'm trying to explain why NARUSASU IS LOVE for me, that

I want a love like that. That is how i see LOVE.

To have someone who never give up on you. To have someone stand for you againts the world. To have someone trust your kindness in your worst time. To have someone who could give you assurance you'll never be alone. To have someone you can hang your hope on. To have someone that try to understand you, your fear, your pain. To have someone you can share your mind even without say a word. To have someone who not focus on your mistake but only think about how to fix it.

After watching shippuden, i started to watch season 1. And yeah of course, narusasu is not a one sided love, but maybe how they look at it kinda different.

And my last statement. Why am i falling for them? Narusasu had wives and children?

Because the way we find, we see love.

It's just different POV.

For some people also the mangaka said they're brothers, it's brotherly love, etc. No problem. Maybe what narusasu did is what brothers did.

But for me, i want a love like what naruto have to sasuke. I'm sasuke and i want my naruto. I'm a person who need assurance in life, while everything could suddenly crumbling apart.

It amazes me how much you try to find information despite beimg on hiatus for 8 years. There was.. ALOT of phases but the fandom has stayed relatively the same, the only phase i really miss is the threads and occasional "boi life update"

Pretty sure bbb is in fact ambidextrous! We never see him write with his left hand but he uses weapons with it (sword, bows, etc) and you need a lot of coordination to do that

Boi is never alone, he always had his friends, even in movie 2 he had Gopal, this time hes alone. Not even ochobot is with him.

If boi got split for too long to the point of the elements becoming they're own 'person' obviously Boi's friends (and tapops) will eventually get them to combine back again

But which memories would boi get? All of them? If he split into 3 he'll have 3 memories but what if he split into 5? Which memories would dominate?

Can boi tell which are really his and which are the elements?

What if specific elements made new friends? Would boi feel guilty? Would boi care about these characters like how his elements cared for them? The elements are him after all

But where does the line end between him and the elements? Where is evern the line drawn that separates him with them?

How can he differentiate which action of his was himself and not pushed by a certain element personality?

How can boi live with himself with the fact he might be keeping 7 people from living?

Tbh, It's a wild short ride if I remembered it again. I didn't know there's the comic ver of Galaxy season 1 and movie 2; the battle card sets; action figures; magazines; heck, when the movie 2 come out in theater, I did not managed to watch it.

A funny story how I went back to this series. When I was on staycation at the hotel this year, that night, my sister stumbled upon one of my local tv(uuuuh I forgot whether it's mnc tv or rtv) that showing one of Galaxy season 1 episode. She asked me how Boboiboy's get bigger and why am I did not watch this series anymore. My reason is same as what I've mentioned about Duri and Solar here and that's the end of it.

But later when I'm back home, I somehow... Felt an urge to re-watch its series? I have to tell you first, I followed Boboiboy's account on Twitter like two years ago, I read some issues when Monsta released season 2 comic on webtoon but I stopped shortly after.

So when people hyped about the upcoming Sori, I myself didn't feel like to watch it since I constantly reminded myself to finish the galaxy season 1 first.

Therefore I hurriedly marathon-ed all series. A bit of back and forth between Galaxy series and original series to refresh my mind before went to movie 2 and Sori. And even then I stopped my read at issue 6 to watch Sori in blind. Counting all that I finished this series within.... Three... Weeks or more I guess?

For now I only own the Google play book ones, baby steps to buy all the physical comic books and the card packs too I guess. (Aaaaaaaaa I want the galaxy season 1 and movie 2 comic books SO BAD >:[ )

Windara and Gur'latan arc made me absolutely concerned with boi's mental health.

When talking about amnesia awareness. We had this line from both comic and Sori.

Yet the final episode of Sori piqued my interest.

Monsta surprisingly didn't dwell this deeper in comic book ver. They didn't show how much the effect could impact the elemental's well being.

edit: I really want to highlight how much Hali's big will to fight his amnesia illnesses. When others starts to forget their surroundings, Hali on the other hand decided to increase his pace. Desperately find a way to meet his other twins. Notice how Hali forgetting Gopal's name but not Yaya at first... Until Hali also forgotten her name.

Yet Yaya somehow understood Hali's frustration by accepting her temporary name. All that scene made my eyes wide when I compared it to comic ver.

(btw how about I call him "Oboi" like many people call him since it's cuter and easier to type? We good? moving on.)

The comic ver only portrayed a fainted Oboi, whereas Sori purposely added an extra few frames of him "suffering" and said more than just felt dizzy.

RWBY lacks Bathos and that seems to bother people.

It occurs to me that this is another reason why the RWDE and so-called critics consider RWBY a good punching bag is summed up alot in Overly Sarcastic Productions’ video on Bathos. By this I mean that it’s unabashedly proud of being a web series inspired by Anime. While not every trope in the medium is used (luckily), it still indulges in a lot of cliches the medium is known for.

Also think about how sincere RWBY is. Ozpin’s grand speeches about the war and its aftereffects or even the human nature of fear. Salem’s monologue at the start of Volume 1 and end of Volume 3. Ruby’s grandstanding against Cordovin. Blake and Yang just... Blake and Yang.

There may be some goofiness along the way but it’s clear that the writers are not here to appeal to the lowest common denimenator like Warner Bros would’ve if the studio had control over it.

We all know how that went with Gen:Lock. :/

I find myself comparing to a lot of this to Red vs. Blue. While the latter was sincere and more deep down the road, it started out of as a dudebro-y type of comedy.

Said comedy would persist even as it would become more sincere such as with Volume 8 putting Sarge, Church and Wash’s characters to the test. The Freelancer flashbacks also dial back the slapstick to a near zero but still be keen to sling some zingers in battle.

RWBY doesn't start out as a parody of Halo or anything but is starting mostly from scratch and is largely unironic about what it wants to be. There are few times where you'd find RvB's style of college frat boy humor in RWBY if at all.

So a lot of the RWDE as well as non-fans sees them opening up their heart and seeing a target with an easy bull's eye.

Summary: Dean came to say goodbye. He can't continue the situationship you two have shared for a couple years. Its getting to hard. Will he listen to your plea or let you walk away?

A/N: I need some angst, I needed to get some personal things out. Thankfully Dean Winchester was able to oblige me and help me work these things out with this short fic. Was listening to "Before You Go" by Lewis Capaldi alot with this fic.

“You don’t get it, Dean.” 

“Try me.”

“Why? What good could it do? You show up into my life like a goddamn tornado. I got so swept up in you. Then you’d leave. I understood why. Hell, I still do. But can’t you understand what it does to me every time you leave? How it breaks me… Not just my heart, Dean. It breaks ME!”

“I told you what my life was…”

“I know that! I accept that! I accept you… every part of you. I love you for YOU. I don’t care that you drink too much, drive too fast. I don’t care that you risk your life just by being alive and walking around. I accept that you battle demons.”

“I don’t want one of those demons tearing you apart!”

“No… not the black eyed demons. I know they are always after you. I am talking about your demons. Your insecurities and doubts about the kind of man you are. That you don’t deserve the good things. That you don’t deserve someone to love you, unconditionally and forever. Those are the demons that break me, Dean. The other ones, they can’t do half the damage that you do to yourself.”

Dean was quiet. He hated how she could always make him feel, something. Whether it was belief in himself, or how she was able to take any sort of pain away from him; she just made him feel. He asked himself a dozen times in the last couple of years if he was wrong for not staying and trying to find a way to make it work. If there could be a balance of his life’s work and having a life with someone, she would be that someone. 

He hated how her bottom lip quivered with all the pain that was shaking from her heart. He hated how her eyes were wide and full of tears ready to fall. “Dean…” He hated how small her voice sounded when she said his name.

“I want to give you everything.” He wasn’t even sure if the words were audible. His throat had gone completely dry. “I think about you every damn day. Wonder if I am being a stubborn ass by not getting in my car and going a thousand miles in whatever direction you are.”

“So, what stops you then?”

“I stop me! I have too! I tell myself you’re better off without me around–”

“I’m not! I’m not better without you! That’s what I am trying to get through that thick head of yours. I would rather have you for whatever time fate allows, then none at all. And I see it in the way you look at me, you want that too!”

Dean hung his head to his chest. Goddamn her and how she could see through all the layers of defense he attempted to hide behind. “And I would rather know you’re alive and without me, then to be a selfish dick and have you, but know that some ugly ass thing is going to kill you because I’m around!”

“And I don’t see what kind of life I have unless I have you,” she whispered. 

He could see she was angry, but it went far beyond that. She was being raw. She was bearing her truth and the deepest feelings to him, allowing herself a moment of vulnerability that was held completely in his hands. 

“I need you, Dean. You–you make things better. You make ME better.”

Her words pierced his armor and somehow found their way in. “You do that for me, too.”

She took a few tentative steps closer to him, and his initial reaction was to step back. If he let her get too close, he would buckle completely. His resolve wasn’t that strong especially where she was involved. Dean had been at his happiest any of the time he had spent with her. She was easy going, and fit into his life in a way that he never thought would be possible. She was fierce and full of fire, but when the lights were out and it was just the two of them whispering in the dark, she had a softness and delicate nature that he craved. She was the perfect balance of sugar and spice to his mostly bitter life.

“I don’t know what to do here, (Y/N). I have this weight on my shoulders, one I never asked for, never agreed to take on. And even when it's fixed or resolved, there’s another–something–to take its place. Sometimes I don’t even get a chance to breathe. How is that fair to you? You deserve so much better.”

“What if I accept all that, and still want what I want? I want to be that breath for you. That safe place you can hide when everything gets too heavy. Forget what you think I deserve. When does what I want matter? I want you. End of story.”

She was so close; the closest he had been to her in months. He could easily reach out and touch her just like he dreamt he had so many nights before. Part of him longed for it, the other part, the rational thinking part, condemned him for it. Stumbling into (Y/N)’s life was a complete accident. It wasn’t a job, it wasn’t an end-of-the-world type of crisis. It was a simple twist of fate that they had met. She was in the wrong place at the right time and their paths crossed. He figured she would just be another one-night good time, then he and Sam would move on just like it had gone for all his adult life. She wasn’t. After that first night together, he was stuck with her essence and it clung to him for months. The second time they met was also by chance. He had to do a double take and make sure he was really seeing her, hundreds of miles from where they first met. 

(Y/N) had seen him and had the same kind of reaction. She didn’t have many regrets in life, but letting Dean leave the morning after with no way to contact each other, was a big one. Sure, best sex of her life, but there was something about the man himself she couldn’t shake. That second meeting, she approached him and threw her arms up around his neck. Dean didn’t take more than a second to return the hug and instantly feel okay again. All the pain of the work in the weeks leading up to that moment had washed away, and all there was, was her. 

Two nights together that time. They righted some wrongs and exchanged numbers that time. From that night on, every couple months for the next two years they would spend stolen weekends meeting somewhere. They would talk and touch and laugh and hold each other. When he finally told her the truth about his life, she listened without judgment and seemed to accept it all. She understood why he was always leaving. Never once gave him a hard time about it, yet always accepted him with open arms when he was able to see her again. 

The flash of memories they shared cycled through his thoughts in a matter of moments. He was close enough to lean his head down and press his forehead to hers. His hands rested gently on the top of her shoulders and he took in a deep breath through his nose, catching a whiff of her sandalwood shampoo. The lump in his throat prevented him from speaking, but he wanted to. He wanted to say so many things to her, but he couldn’t. He was desperate to tell her that he was falling in love with her; that he wanted to stay when every fiber of his being urged him to leave. He wanted to rebel, and stay. For once, Dean wanted to get what he wanted, too. It was there, standing right in front of him. 

“Dean…” The way she said his name reverberated through him even though it was barely a whisper. “Please stay. Even if it’s just for tonight.”

He caved. He couldn’t resist her when she was like this; real and raw and vulnerable as hell. He bent down and kissed her. There was no hope for either of them once their lips touched again. She was completely human, but she was full of magic. The simplest touch of her on him and he didn’t know which way was up or down. All he knew was that he needed her. He had come to her that time to say it was over, that he wouldn’t be able to see her anymore. Too much was happening in his life for it to ever be safe for them to be together. He begged her to listen to him and understand why it had to be that way. She didn’t understand and refused to accept his decision. Part of him hated her for making it so difficult, but the duality in his heart also screamed at him that he was being a stubborn asshole. 

Dean squeezed his eyes shut and reluctantly pulled back from her, though their lips were still nearly touching. “I can’t…”

She slowly shook her head and took a step back from him. His heart immediately cracked a bit more. “You’re a brave man, Dean Winchester. You fight some of the most disturbing, scary things this world has in its closet, but you will never be brave enough to fight for me.”

“I am fighting for you, I am fighting to keep you safe.” He was angry, but his tone was calm and soft. “I wish you could understand.”

“And I wish you could understand me. But you can't, so I guess I have to find some way to let you go.” He wanted to scream and tell her no, that’s not what he wanted. Farthest thing from what he wanted, in fact. “I will always think of you as my person, Dean. And if there comes a day where you could be brave enough to try with me… to really try, even if it means you still hunt, I’ll be here. ‘Cause honestly, no man could ever be as right for me as you are. And I won’t settle for less than I want.”

She turned to leave. Each step she took away from him, his panic grew. Fear gripped Dean like it hadn’t before. All that he had experienced in the past, fear of losing his brother, his friends, his own life… the fear of losing her was shocking and it was imminent. A flash of memories hit him again, and something inside him broke; the last of his defenses were gone along with his resolve.

His hand darted out, grabbing her arm and turning her back around. He felt primal, like he had so many times before in his life. His need for her was overwhelming and he gave in to all the impulses he tried to fight for so long.

“No,” he said and pulled (Y/N) closer. “You’re right, we should get what we want. You more than anyone, and if I am what you want, you can have me.” His words were hoarse and low, but she didn’t miss any of it. “‘Cause I want you. Hell, I need you. I hate that I do, but I can’t fight it anymore. I can’t lose you.”

He cradled her tear-streaked face in his hands, and when he looked into her eyes, he saw everything he was afraid of; a future. She wrapped her fingers around his hands, and moved them from her face. She was wary of his sudden change of mind, but it didn’t seem to matter because her lips grew into a soft smile. 

“What changed?”

“Insane? It does, but that’s what I’ve been saying, Dean. This, what we have here, this is what life is about. It's not always going to be easy. Sometimes it's going to be scary, or bloody, but it's goddamn worth it if in the moments in between we have each other.”

“So what now? How do we do this?”

(Y/N) gave him a shrug of one shoulder, then laced her fingers through his, pulling him closer. “We start with this.” She got on her toes to reach up and kiss him. “Then, we take each day as it comes. But we do it together. We take this leap of faith that no matter what happens, we’ll handle it. I will learn to defend myself against every ugly thing that goes bump in the night, and you learn to talk to me when things get dark inside you. And in the quiet moments, we live our lives. Whatever that looks like to you, I’m in.”

“And if it gets to be too much?”

“Then, we fight. We fight for what we want. If we are only ever fighting to survive, what kind of life are we fighting to keep?”

Dean thought about what she was saying, and something inside him felt free. Like whatever it was that prevented him from believing he deserved anything good, dislodged and evaporated. He was worthy of all the good things life had to offer, and she was the best of them all. 

A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

“Fighting for me. For us.”

“I’ll always fight for us, Dean. You’re worth fighting for. One day, maybe you’ll see that for yourself. Until then, all I can do is love you enough for both of us.”

“I’m gettin’ there, sweetheart. Just keep doing what you do best.”

“And that is?”

“Being braver than I could ever be.”

(Y/N) melted into his arms and found no good reason to move away from them. Dean closed his eyes and rested his chin on the top of her head. She fit into him so perfectly, he felt that maybe he did find the missing puzzle piece. He thought that maybe despite the big picture of the life he had been destined to live, it wouldn’t be that bad now that he was complete with her by his side.

why i like them: i have been drawn to dragon trainers ever since playing hgss so of course i love this man. also absolutely love his cocky attitude, i think he has such an alluring personality. on a real note he’s so fine he gets me blushing lol oh and his lil tooth that sticks out :33

why i don’t: epitome of every gimmick i hate in battles LOL absolutely hate double battles and hate weather affects even more.

fave episode/movie: didn’t watch the anime after johto and definitely didn’t watch journeys so … no answer and i don’t feel like he appears enough in twilight wings to give an answer lol I’m gonna go with the microsecond he was in gotcha lol

otp: multishipper!!! so my first ship was raihan and leon - which i still really enjoy but my all time fave is raihan and piers 🖤🧡 they have rotted my brain so badly

brotp: sonia and raihan. like how he calls her miss clever clogs. i wanna be around to witness their leon gossip sessions lol. hc but i love the idea of them growing up in the gym challenge together and sonia always finding raihan super hilarious while her best friend nessa thought he was so full of himself lol. honestly i think he’s just super popular and social so gets along with every gym leader pretty well

headcanon: talked about this briefly in my tags, but a very special hc to me is that all dragon trainers come from a singular clan before splitting apart where they now live in the different regions. lance and raihan are cousins and are considered the most esteemed and powerful trainers in their clan and have had a friendly rivalry since being kids. despite bickering due their completely different attitudes and outlooks on life and what it means to be a dragon trainer, they also bring out positives in eachother. lance made raihan appreciate the culture of their clan more (which in turn helped him appreciate his vault job even more) and raihan taught lance how to loosen up and not feel so pressured by the very strict johto branch of dragon trainers. oh and he’s also great with kids and kids love him for how goofy he can be lol

wish: definitely wish we saw more of the gentle side of him that’s hinted to be there both via the game and anime.

my nickname for them: rai-rai🥺 ever since seeing that piers calls him that in the manga. fuels my shipping brain and overall just a super cute name

why i like them: omg. my all time favourite gym leader and in my top 3 galar characters. love that they fed into the concept of alt people being teddy bears despite outwards appearances, reminds me of alot of people i knew growing up in the scene myself. loveee how protective he is of marnie and in general how much he loves his hometown and people around him. just an absolute sweetie 😭

why i dont: actually cant think of one reason or element i dont like, perfect character imo!!! is it basic to say the scene of him singing with no background vocals? why do him like that😭😭😭

fave episode/movie: same answer as raihans but seeing that one microsecond in twilight wings of him saying he doesn’t do encores changed me as a person lmao

brotp: piers and …. sonia too lol (this girl needs more friends!!!). really loved them with hop + the player in post game and think stressed and overwhelmed sonia could benefit from calm and collected piers… so cute. i’m so attracted to the opposites attract trope, both platonically and/or romantically and they fit that perfectly lol

headcanon: while always on the more reserved side, i love the idea of younger gym challengers piers being more boisterous (in his own way) and loved the party and gig scene in early spikemuth* - much to the suprise of those who only know him in his adult years. however, when the responsibility of raising marnie came into the picture, he relaxed quite a lot and now his old man tendencies tend to come out even with his fully adult friends and in his relationship. he’s the first people come to when they need advice cause despite being overly cautious and a worry-wart when it comes to marnie, he is quite grounded which comforts a lot of people. what a sweetie!

tips and tricks I have learned in my 9 years of being mostly bedridden from ME/CFS

the first 5 years of illness was a battle and hellscape I physically dont have the capacity to process emotionally and if thats were your at as well your incredible friend, I have finally managed to get security payments and a place to live (much to be desired but its way way away from the dire circumstances I was under for years. my heart goes out to those in situations I was in)

Tip number 1:

-reframing and restructuring my goals and expectations

I was able to do this by saying that sick me is different then able bodied me. Sick me is accomplished for each day they make it to the next day. It also comes from recognizing the ‘idols’ or those that came before me in my same position and looking up to them and gleaning their knowledge. Jessica Kellegren-Fozard has been this idol for me. She goes about life with grace, love and wonder and has taught me alot on how to navigate a disabled life and to love it and have fun with it.

tip 2:

-discovering what limits my body has and keeping within those parameters (no matter how pitiful or limited it may feel) staying inside the limits means I can do more overall and refrain from boom and bust crashes

tip 3:

-REST DAYS. what an abled bodied person can accomplish in a day I might be able to do in a week. Do something one day then the next day rest. Rinse and repeat.

tip 4:

-if you ignored rest days or simply find yourself in a crash the adrenaline kick you get that makes you feel like you have energy and should do something is a trap, rest. Rest day for you! If you’ve rested and rested and rested and feel the worst youve ever felt and so hopeless that youll never return to even your base line that is the day before you are actually getting better, keep resting and cheer yourself on and comfort yourself your doing amazing.

tip 5:

-get any aid device you feel you need, (even if you feel like well maybe I dont need it maybe im just exaggerating. No. If it’s reasonably priced or you can get it through other means do. Aids are great) I love my cane. I love my rollater. Love my eyemask. Love my eyepatch. Love my shower stool. Love my sunglasses. Love my stand that holds my phone. Love my medicine bag. Love my trays that hold my miscellaneous aid tools. Love my humidifier and heater. Love my weighted blanket. Love my fidget toys and my kalimba. Would love to see if an oxygen tank might help not sure on how to go about that yet and would love a wheelchair but would need a motorized one and cant afford it (also for me I wouldn’t be able to use it much because i cant sit up for long)

tip 6:

-drinking electrolytes after my roughly weekly shower. This was a game changer for me really helped recovery rest day. Coconut water, lemon juice, gatorade, salt water, all good choices.

tip 7:

-celebrating my accomplishments. I choose to do this on the ‘birth’ of my sick self. The date of my illness was very clear and its a date I wont forget so why not make it a party to celebrate what Ive done throughout the year. Always when I approach this day I feel so down on myself because it often feels like I do literally nothing but lay in bed but when I actively go through the months and things I did on top of the victory of surviving another year I find Ive done much more then I give credit for and im so proud of myself.

tip 8:

-my weighted blanket is the greatest thing in the world. (This one may not apply for others as it can be rough to manage the heft but for me whose been an insomniac my entire life this absolutely changed my life and I can not sleep any other way, I feel like a door to door ((floor to floor)) salesman because all I want to do is share the good news)

tip 9:

-gaming has made a big impact for my social and emotional health and im very pleased and surprised by how much it has a positive effect. Very fortunately I was able to buy a device for a form fitting keypad and mouse its really great and made gaming possible with less pain.

tip 10:

-Keep a few food bars/snacks by bed.
