1 comment is one person who read the work (and hopefully liked it but I've gotten too mamy comments to the contrary to believe the lie that comments are always good lol)
100 hits can be generated by things like bots.
10 kudos is 10 people who stayed with my work long enough to hit a button at the end, and probably liked it to some degree
I will never value comments over kudos when my silent readers are still readers and still whole entire people who enjoy my work. Thank you, people who leave kudos even if you can't comment at the time (or at all, for whatever reason). I know you're there, and I love you for it.
(Also people too shy or nervous to leave kudos on some of my works because you're worried about your account being associated with them especially in the current fandom climate these days and I have fics locked to users only--I can't see you, but I appreciate your existence, too, thank you for also enjoying my works! Lurkers are loved here!)
#Lurkers deserve so much more love than they're given and that IS a hill i will die on#Also I have absolutely seen authors whine about 'spam' and 'trash' comments that are just emojis or 'extra kudos'#I do NOT blame people for not wanting to comment if they're not sure if the author is a snob who only wants essay comments or will#Actually appreciate another person saying 'i liked this' to them without extensive elaboration#Lurkers are loved here no matter if they eventually become commeters or not because they're still here#(Also I appreciate you for not expecting me to have a lengthy conversation in the comments of my work when I have limited social energy)#(That said I also do appreciate comments including just emojis or a simple 'i liked this' style#I just don't value them OVER kudos)

Bruce is actually really attractive, and I have enough reasoning to make a list
He's:
Tall (. Tall enough to hit his head on the vault doorframe)
Long-legged
Has a straight nose bridge
Has high cheekbones (more noticeable in 2nd pic below)
Has a strong jawline
Sharp eyes, but they aren't small (plus eyebags if you're into that)
Overall, he has strong, attractive facial features
Has broad, refined shoulders. You can tell he works out (or he did, when he was alive)
Even has a thick, muscly neck
He has MUSCLE. Is SCULPTED. NOICE. VERY NOICE. (nice arms. Nice shoulders. Nice neck. Nice legs. Nice butt-)
(There are actually panels where you can see some of his muscles. Other than those already shown here, he's got bricky thighs-
-and in the panels where we first get his name dropped, he's got those shoulder blades too-)
The one time we see him smile, and he actually has a scary one
Has small, kinda sharp pupils, and his eyes remind me of a cat. We only ever saw him tense or defensive, so his resting/listening face is really cute
Other than the physical appearance stuff, he also:
Takes shit without batting an eye (patience, knowing it's just how Kudo is, etc)
Kudo being all "Cut the crap Bruce and give it to me straight", after Bruce tests his blood and is rightfully Concerned because they just faced AFO
Put up with Kudo's experimenting and testing over Yoichi's transferable Factor
Did ya'll see the look on Kudo's face when he realized he had Yoichi's Factor/will? Kudo was going to start in nonsense and Bruce just dealt with that.
Also something I noticed when looking back at the images here; Bruce has bandages on his arms in the void. But not when he faced AFO in the sewers.
Were he and Kudo cutting their arms open in their experimenting over Yoichi's theory? Is this why Kudo has two gauntlets instead of his one? Why we never see his bare arms in the void? That he always keeps his arms down so there's no slip?
Is smart enough to run blood tests, plus has enough common sense to pick Shinomori as his successor
He picked a guy who avoids society, has an Ability to detect danger so he can always stay away from AFO, is also a coward so he's never going to go throw himself into danger, even without knowing instinctively he stands no chance, etc.
Meanwhile, Kudo chose Bruce, who he played Hot Potato Yoichi with; but he did also trust Bruce, and put the only pure combative Ability in OFA through Bruce.
These two made their choices based on what they valued and saw the Factor needed.
Is logical, analytical, and calm.
He tried advising Midoriya on their Abilities in One For All, especially his own.
Midoriya then tried ignoring him about using Fa Jin for the first time, but found he was right, thinking: "Dammit!! I had [Lady Nagant] right where I wanted her, but... ugh! The Third was right. My parallel Quirk processes are all screwed up!" (ch. 314).
Plus, when Midoriya fixed his processing mistakes, Bruce was analyzing the way he reached his new conclusion. Pure facts, no bias, very calm, just saying it as it was.
We never see him panic. When he's caught by surprise in the sewers by AFO, Kudo, and Yoichi's little bubble event, he immediately reacts. He doesn't falter, he just knows he has to do something right now.
Was more willing to listen than Kudo to Yoichi's beckon, and probably was just following Kudo's rejection of Midoriya
While we don't see Kudo's face, we see Bruce's eyes when Yoichi calls on his heroes. Bruce was more open and receptive, or at least more impacted.
Bruce was also the one to start talking, while Kudo just kept quiet.
He actually communicates a lot
When Yoichi called them to support Midoriya, Bruce started talking to paint a picture of why they thought the way they did, so Yoichi understood where they were coming from.
(Though he seems to beat about the bush sometimes, since Kudo spoke up to be direct on how they couldn't just put their trust in some starry-eyed teenager. Plus, when Kudo tells him to just tell him what's wrong [double Factors])
When Midoriya first used Fa Jin against Nagant, Bruce came out just to tell him he knew what he was trying, but that Midoriya wasn't ready; and Midoriya found he was right. Midoriya just didn't want to listen to him then.
He asks Kudo for clarification after finding Kudo had two Factors in him after the sewer incident ("Just to be sure, All For One didn't touch you, right?") Kudo knew him well enough to go "stop beating around the bush and tell me", so Bruce was probably gonna start with questions, theories, and trying to understand everything in general, before saying "yeah you have two Factors. Don't know why".
Is strong-willed and loyal.
He followed Kudo, even to death, carrying on the cause he started until it ended with him.
Plus, when talking about how AFO needs a strong will to override OFA's own, we first see Bruce, Kudo, and Yoichi.
AFO couldn't steal OFA because the will was too strong for him, and that was back during Banjo's time. Since Shinomori never actually tried opposing AFO and just hid, we can assume the first Three (Yoichi, Kudo, Bruce) already had an accumulation of strong willpower that made OFA un-stealable. Those three are a strong enough foundation, and the main wills, that the other users just become bonuses.
Kudo, also saying that Midoriya needs allies with the same will and drive as him... hey Kudo, you're talking about yourself and your old allies, aren't you? That's why you look at Yoichi and Bruce when you say this.
Not only is Bruce attractive, but he's got good character. THE END.
#yes this is a bruce appreciation post#am i biased? yes. am i right that he has these features? also yes.#hes actually a very attractive person. hes got all the right features for it#plus hes smart (some medical knowledge) is really loyal strong-willed and patient#he puts up with kudo SO much#from being bossed around to taking home yoichis brother to whatever the heck kudo made him do to figure out OFA's transfer properties.....#i didnt think much of bruce originally#then i started doing resistance fic stuff and now hes a fave#hes a little blorbo#that i throw in terrible situations for my own entertainment#used his scary smile for comedy purposes#like when he made a kid cry once. or when a meta child was afraid of him so they bit him#has patience to deal with kudo and co. but also. has enough bite to snark them. is how i like writing him#oh? background character? well lemme just *picks him up* EXPAND ON THAT-#fic stuff: he tries making a good impression on a girl and kudo is ruining it immediately#he doesnt know what to do because the two always banter#kudo: fuck you#oc: fuck me yourself you coward#he sees through a rose-lens that kudo is trying to rip off his face#appeciation kinda turned analysis in general#bruce#kudo#yoichi shigaraki#bnha#mha#spoilers#boku no hero academia#my hero academia#NOT YOICHIS BROTHER. i meant Yoichi / AFO's brother in a prev tag up there but theres too much tags i dont wanna rewrite to fix that#(image limit and tag limit)

So i get the whole "Ao3 isn't social media, don't put so much value on comments and kudos, you should be writing for yourself not for external validation" thing, that's all fine and cool and true. What bugs me is the people who seem to get a weird sense of superiority from "not caring" or "not reading" comments etc.
Cause let's be honest, external validation feels good. No, it shouldn't be the reason you write and you shouldn't base your self esteem on that, but it's nice when people like your art and it's fine to get excited about that, and to be proud of that.
You wouldn't tell a director not to be happy about people liking their movie, right?
Yes, some people get super obsessed with checking their comments and stats and it's neither healthy for them nor their writing because it ends up all hinging on other people's opinions. But then some people seem to genuinely think that the moment you give even a single shit about what people think, that makes you vain and somehow takes value away from your art.
I've seen that with visual art too, where artists will say basically "oh i only make art for myself, therefore im not allowed to care what anyone thinks" but... you can do both. You can create things to express yourself and just have fun for yourself and not others AND you can appreciate the fact other people connect to it and like it. It's only human instinct, but some people really do act like it's morally wrong somehow.
--
You shouldn't rely on external validation because that's a good way to get eaten alive by insecurity. That's an observation about what makes it more likely that you'll finish a piece of writing and less likely that you'll feel terrible.
But liking to interact on AO3 is just what fandom is. Fandom is all about connecting with other people over shared interests.

I Love Us
Honestly, I'm so, so very glad AvA is the first fandom I've actually been an active participant in.
LONG RANT INCOMING
Throughout the years, I have "been in fandoms", but I never felt like posting my own art or works, commenting on vids (i didn't have a youtube account back then, still don't), or being anything other than a silent observer.
Back in March, when I came home from that math competition, and found AvMath in my recommendeds, and just clicked on it, I did not expect to get dragged into a fandom about stick figures, of all things. I remember watching AvPhysics directly after, then finding "Wanted", and watching it with no context. I remember going to the wiki, seeing all of the content that was made, and and binging AvM and the actual shorts and literally everything else.
And most of all, I remember thinking, "I wish I could just erase all of this from my mind and experience the magic all over again."
-
In May, I took a chance and went to Ao3. I knew it was a site to post fanfiction, but it had never been something I was interested in. But I was just curious, to see if fanfiction about this amazing fandom really existed. I didn't have an account, no; I think I just wanted to see.
There were about 1600-1700 fics on there about AvA, during that time. I didn't know how hits worked or kudos worked, but I just remember scrolling down until I could find something that looked like a lot of people had liked it.
And even then, I clearly remember the first fic I touched. "Identity", by LeenaFreeBird (I'll link it at the bottom). I absolutely loved it. I spent the rest of the month simply reading, and consuming all of the cool hcs, learning what fan terms meant, having an idea for my own fic that I thought, back then, I could never write.
Because I didn't.
I never made an account or wrote. I never left comments because part of me though people without an account wouldn't be able to, and that was just habit, at this point.
And even though I stepped slightly away from there in the months of June and July (we were in the process of moving halfway across the country, I had just watched the new Demon Slayer season, and upon recommendation had binged all of Haikyuu in a week), I always made sure to keep updated on whatever new AvA/M videos had been posted.
In August, I went back on Ao3.
SO MANY AMAZING FICS HAD BEEN WRITTEN IN THE SPAN I WAS AWAY.
I remember binging all of them for the month. I sat alone at lunch (as I was new I didn't have any friends), just reading them on my phone and getting sucked back into there.
In September AvI began. On a whim I logged back into my tumblr account that I had made like 5 years ago in 4th grade to post random rambling stuff about my life (I tagged nothing but my username wth), and redid my entire blog. I was sooo happy when one of my posts reached 100 notes.
I felt way stronger, and way braver. I joined the invite queue for Ao3, because I decided I DID want an account, and I DID want to post my own fics.
And everyone was (and is) SO NICE about it. They love my fics and posts (which I still consider really crappy, btw) to pieces, and always give me good comments. Even my bad fanart (another thing I got the courage to post during this time). Shipping wars never happen here (if they did, I wouldn't know about it). Rarepairs are appreciated, and we unanimously know the ships that should be completely illegal (not naming ship names here).
Everything and everyone is loved, and this is like the one little corner of the Internet where mostly all is safe and your opinion is valued. Sure, your fan theory may be wrong, but people here don't go and tell you "that's so stupid lol, no way that's true". They'll give you actual feedback, explain the evidence that falsifies it, or add to it because they like it.
Even on YouTube, if someone posts a yellue ship video, for example, they'll get hate, or "the color quad are just siblings lol", or "they r stickmen why are u shipping them". If someone HCs Blue as a girl (ik that's been debunked where we are at rn), they'll get a comment saying "it's stickman for a reason".
Like, let people have their opinions. Alan has never confirmed the color quad as siblings, or their origin story. I know he has said that he would like to avoid romance by not making female characters, but it's not like the people who ship yellue or grapeduo barge up to his door and demand he makes it canon. They're just peaceful, and everything that you're saying is fanon. For all we know, four different animators could have collabed on the sticksfight website and each animated a different character (not saying that's true, but we don't know).
And even with hollowhead pairs. Alan created them, yes, but how does Creator transfer to father in this scenario? We don't know, because he hasn't confirmed the hollowheads as siblings either. They still get hate on YouTube.
But Tumblr just loves everyone. The AvA community, for example, will always make you feel like you posted something good. They lift you up, not put you down. They appreciate your headcanons because it provides a new way of looking at things.
They appreciate you.
I feel so much better about putting myself out there, and I know I will do so more in the future. I now cannot comprehend how someone can see all of this content and think "they are just stick figures". No they aren't. They are stick figures with trauma, feelings, pain, heroic qualities, fatal flaws.
You, tumblr, makes me feel this way.
Thank you so much.
(I did not expect to rant about my entire journey when I was supposed to be talking about how amazing the AvA tumblr fandom is, but now that I have I'll just keep it. Here's the fic I was talking about)

Reminder that kudos are great and all, but comments inspire!!! Comments give serotonin!! Feedback, notes, even just little ramblings on a fanfic will make an author's day, week even. I should know. Whenever I read a fic I enjoy, I try to leave a detailed comment and point out some things that I think were written well, such as symbolisms, parallels, alliterations, characterizations, or even just quotes or phrases that were well written. It can take from a few hours to several months to write something, and sometimes it only takes minutes to read them. That hard work deserves to be appreciated in a way that isn't just, "yeah I liked this fic". PEOPLE. A LITTLE EFFORT IN A COMMENT OR A BOOKMARK CAN MAKE SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! YES!!! AUTHORS SHOULDN'T NECESSARILY WRITE TO PLEASE PEOPLE, BUT TO KNOW YOUR WORK IS GENUINELY VALUED TO SOME DEGREE IS INCREDIBLY HEARTWARMING AND HUMBLING!!! LIKE, WOW. SOMEONE ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO ENJOY MY SILLY LITTLE HYPERFIXATION RAMBLE THAT IS ACTUALLY IMPORTANT TO ME!!!
I'm very passionate about this. I know too many authors who don't get enough praise for their genius.
THAT BEING SAID please go read sarcasm_and_bad_puns works on Ao3. Her works deserve so much love, and as much as I enjoy and actively go insane over everything she writes (she is. like. the genius of geniuses and one of the best writers I've had the blessing of getting to watch grow along with her incredible talent) I am only one person. Go appreciate her! She's such a sweetheart who deserves a universe's worth of comments, kudos, bookmarks, and endless praise that I can not give her because I am unfortunately one soul that only inhabits one body, so...
Yeah! Leave comments! Leave bookmarks! Go read sarcasm_and_bad_puns works! GO GO GO!!!!

NATLA Episode 1 Debrief (by yours truly)
Hello my lovlies! There are so many opinions swirling around right now in the fandom and I wanted to give my own opinions a quick (this is not going to be quick but whatever) post of their own. I'm probably going to do this with all of the episodes, just an fyi
First of all, Sozin can fuck all the way off. I don't think I really have to explain that one but goddammit they really made me hate him (and I love to hate the villain)
I LOVE the detail of seeing the flames reflected in his eyes whenever he kills someone, as a symbol of fire's natural brutality consuming him from within. Kudos to whoever added that detail because it is absolutely perfect. I look forward to seeing more of this monster in future flashbacks.
The firebending itself was absolutely brutal. Watching the cartoon, you don't really think about how painful and horrific being burned alive is, and the live action explored that element in a way the previous show could not.
I know this is controversial, but actually really like how they devoted a good ten minutes to establishing some background with the Air Nomads before we dove in. In my opinion, it gave more depth to the Air Nomads besides just what we see through Aang's eyes, which I think helps the viewer connect with him more and sympathize in ways the cartoon didn't. One detail from this part that was absolutely heartbreaking was the Comet Festival.
Something about the way a time of joy was turned into a time of pain and misery was absolutely awful (this was the first time I cried [I cried three times]). The fact that all of the Air Nomads were in one place kind of filled in why there was no evidence of the FN ever having been to the Western Air Temple in s3 of the cartoon. It also adds another layer of awfulness to the whole thing. I can't really put into words why I feel that way, it's just a sort of vibe.
I also liked the way they established Aang's character flaws right off the bat:
The episode was named after him, so it only makes sense to show all aspects of his character almost immediately. This also gives me hope that they might address these flaws later a little more than the cartoon did.
Super glad they included a female Airbender on the counsel (or whatever that was). She was also fighting later and she looked super badass.
Now, onto the Water Tribe.
I can't express how glad I am that they included both boys and girls in Sokka's little warrior pack. People have talked about this before, but the gender roles in the SWT didn't make a lot of sense. Perfect little detail to fill a plot hole.
I am also over the moon that they decided to expand on the differences between the Water Tribe sibling's outlooks on the world. Katara was raised as both a beacon of hope and a liability, whereas Sokka was raised as a warrior and a protector. It gives insight into their characters and also symbolizes the way the war shaped them. The pressure within a society to adapt to the times even as traditional values are abandoned and culture is devastated is something that the original show laid the groundwork for, so I really hope we see the live action build on it further. There's also this:
Gives the perfect insight into the ways their parents leaving affected them both differently and expands on their different mindsets. 10/10 for the sibling dynamic.
I'm not sure if I liked the changes to this scene. Katara was characterized pretty well, in my opinion, and it does make sense with the "toning down" of Sokka's sexism that she didn't explode on him, but it's still an iconic moment I would have liked to see translated to the live action. I also found the fact that Appa wasn't included at all just plain weird. He should have been there, and even if he was established differently later, again, I'm not sure I liked the way Aang was introduced to the siblings. (At least they didn't include any romantic Kat@ang moments. Platonic besties for the win)
Zuko's introduction was just kind of... there, in my opinion, but I did love the detail of the icons on the shelf glowing. There were several homages made to Zuko's search for the avatar that I really appreciated, from the early establishment of his antagonism towards Lieutenant Jee to his pages of research, which I really appreciated. There were also several moments that implied that Zuko had a more spiritual journey throughout his banishment to find the avatar, which was partially a little bit of worldbuilding and partially a play into the idea that he will legitimately try everything possible to find the avatar that was another nice detail. Sadly, Dallas didn't really make a huge impression on me. This might be because of lack of screentime or the fact that this is THE Zuko, but I was kind of expecting more. Still, I don't think it was an irredeemable portrayal by any means, and I look forward to seeing more.
This is sort of random, but I just need to say that I'm glad they included more evidence of Katara's PTSD. It was already pretty established in the cartoon that she did have PTSD, but the live action allows exploration of that in a more mature way, which I appreciate. It made the kat@ang conversation hit that much harder, and gives more depth to Katara's character.
The fight at the gates was also just perfect. Zuko acting on impulse out of a need to prove himself:
Katara's speech and Sokka's change of heart:
And this line:
Sokka kind of fell flat to me a bit in this episode, and I feel like Katara was the MVP in all of their interactions, but I loved this line. I just have a feeling he really needed to hear this.
There's also this moment that I thought was really significant where it looked like Zuko was actually going to kill Sokka:
My heart legit stopped at this part. Like, I knew it made no logical sense for it to happen, but I still got scared for a moment. I know it was just another one of those moments to show how Zuko's anger gets the best of him, ect, ect. but this was overkill. I don't think they took it too far by any means, but it was still just so unexpected.
I also noticed they removed the zukka parallel of the two of them getting ready for battle at the same time, which I really disliked. It plays more into the warrior mindset for the both of them, and even though we had that established in other ways, I would have still liked to see it.
Aang's sacrifice is the same, but I appreciated his little conversation with Iroh. When Iroh showed up, I half expected him to just let Aang go, but I guess that wouldn't really be in character for season 1 Iroh. Either way, that was some good stuff.
The framing also sort of reminds me of the season 3 conversation between Zuko and Iroh when Iroh is in prison back in the FN. Both shots give the impression that it is not actually the one behind bars who is in prison. This makes me think that they might give Iroh more of an arc in season 1, which I would kind of like to see, but at the same time, I'm not sure about. I think it was important in the cartoon that Iroh had already completed his journey and was doing his best to guide Zuko through a similar one.
I am disappointed that they removed the fight scene between Zuko and Aang inside the ship, but there was another huge moment this allowed for that I REALLY LOVED:
I LOVE that they let Katara have her hero moment I LOVE that they let her discover her bending a bit more in this episode I LOVE that Aang helped her I LOVE IT ALL. Katara gaining more confidence in her abilities is the season 1 Katara arc I want to see and they legit made me fangirl over this moment so much I squealed. There's also something about her blocking a fire blast from Zuko after being powerless to stop him from killing/seriously hurting her brother in the earlier fight that's just... chefs kiss. (also maybe establishing that ZK yin and yang concept early... I'm reading way too much into this but the way Katara's arms are positioned kind of looks like the yin symbol a little bit...)
And finally, we have the air temple scene. The whole thing was so incredibly sad, and I actually didn't mind that it was part of the first episode. It makes everything go full circle, in my opinion.
I also thought that Gyatso's voice instead of Katara's being the one to calm Aang down was a really good choice. Aang coming to terms with his death should be about his memories with his past mentor, not about Katara comforting him. I loved the hug though. Perfectly devastating:
Also, the last parallel at the end was just SO perfect:
Something about how tradgedies in their lives forced them both to become dedicated and adapt to a new world beyond their control. Aang and Zuko parallels always wonderful.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! I would give this episode an 8.5/10. Not perfect, but definitely not bad. It surpassed my expectations and I'm so excited to see more!

Detective Conan + BnHA
Usually solving a murder took observation, cleverness, and deductive prowess.
Usually It was not a matter of Conan and Heiji walking in on a woman bludgeoning the victim in the head with what looked like a rather large piece of bismuth with two officers of Tokyo Metropolitan in tow. (It couldn't be. Bismuth would shatter when hit against a skull, not deal the obviously lethal damage it had)
"Suda-san, why?" Takagi gasped.
The woman smiled, the expression all the more horrifying for her blood splattered face. "For this of course. That idiot Kawahara wouldn't give it to me. Not for money, not for me proving it was just 'fake' bismuth, though he had no idea the real value of what he had." She cradled the crystalline metal in her arms like it was an infant.
She was insane. Conan had met several people who were not mentally well, who killed for the dumbest of reasons, but he couldn't remember seeing insanity on this scale.
"Suda-san, put the stone down." Takagi said gently. Sato was uncharacteristically quiet, but Conan had figured out why a little bit ago.
"You're not taking it from me." Suda stood up and the crystal began to glow. "So now you'll all have to go far enough away so you can never come back."
'Sato' lifted her arm, the gun she was bringing to bare heavier and misshapen for a police firearm, but it didn't have the chance to go off. The four of them were swallowed by rainbow light.
The vertigo was overwhelming. There was no up or down, no motion or standing still. And it made the moment it stopped just seemd to make it all the more worse.
"I think I'm going to hurl" Heiji moaned.
"Sato-san? Are you okay? Sato-Kaitou Kid!?" Takagi exclaimed.
"Can't be surprised you got caught, you pulled out your cardgun." Conan snarked, not quite able to sit up yet."
"Kudo-kun?"
Okay, never mind. That startled Conan up. Had he turned back? No, he was still Conan, but Takagi was looking at him in shock. Or rather, right above him, where his head would be if he were his proper size.
"Takagi-keiji, that's Conan-kun." Kid said slowly, but in his own voice. He seemed to accept the jig was up for him.
"No it's not, it's Kudo-kun! I'm not blind."
"Err, it's really not. Like yeah, Sato-san turned out to be Kaitou Kid in disguise, but that's still Conan."
For once Heiji got his name right.
"Not it's not, that Kudo. And Kid's not in disguise, he's wearing his usually white suit. Isn't...he?" It seemed to be dawning on Takagi that no one else in the room was seeing what he was seeing.
"What's going on here?" A man who looked like he belonged in a comic book convention marched in
~
"Tsukauchi I need your help"
Detective Tsukauchi looked at his phone in annoyance. "You know I'm working on a big case right now Vibes."
"Just for a minute? I saw something really weird with my quirk and found two adults, a teen, and a kid. One of the adults is either hallucinating or lost control of his quirk and all of them...claim superpowers don't exist and heroes are only in comic books. I need to know if their pulling my chain to hide something or if they've been attacked by a villain with a mental quirk." The sympathy in his voice made it clear Vibes was leaning towards the latter.
Which was terrifying in the long term. A villain who could make a small group of people forget a main cornerstone of society and modern life...those four may have been a trail run for something bigger.
"Go." Toshinori urged him. "We've been spinning our wheels for hours anyway."
"Is that All Might?" Vibes asked over the phone.
Tsukauchi sighed. "We'll be right there."
"We?" Toshinori sounded surprised.
"You get frustrated when you don't feel you're being useful." Tsukauchi pointed out. "As you've said, we're spinning our wheels, so let's be useful."
~
"Blond skeleton!" Takagi yelped as two more people entered the room.
Conan kept a sharp eye on their reaction and Heiji was doing the same. Yep, a momentary flash of fear on the face of the normal looking man and a guy who looked even more like he stepped out of a comic book. And while comic book guy was blond, he was the opposite of a skeleton.
And yet...whatever was going on with Takagi seemed to be revealing things people wouldn't want known. He saw through Kid's disguise, literally. He saw Conan as Shinichi. And he saw that big guy as a skeleton. What could it mean?
"My name is Tsukauchi Naomasa with the TMPD." Instant alertness from their group, who knew of no such man working there. "I am legally obligated to inform you that my quirk is Lie Detector. I'm going to start with something simple. Can you tell me your names?"
"Takagi Wataru." Takagi answered nervously.
"Hattori Heiji"
"Edogawa Conan."
"Lie." Tsukauchi simply stated.
Conan stiffened and Takagi yelped.
"What wrong?" Heiji asked. "I just saw Ku-Conan-kun look severely injured. But he didn't seem to be reacting to it, so it's probably not real?" Takagi sounded just this side of hysterical,"
"True except for the name."
"Will you give it a rest!" Conan snapped. "There's no such thing as superpowers. And no one's a human lie detector! Even the best detectives are subject to falling for misdirection and tricks."
Tsukauchi sighed. "True."
"Well F-"
"LANGUAGE, YOUNG VIBES," All Might boomed, (albeit pleasantly. The man didn't sound angry, just loud). "WE NEED TO GET THESE FOUR TO A HOSPI-WHERE DID SHE GO?"
She? Oh right, Kid had been disguised as Sato-san. And had managed to escape while they were distracted by Conan. Great.
"We need to find her." The first comic book guy sounded like he wanted to curse, but didn't want to be scolded again. "We don't know who did this to them or if they'll tie up loose ends."

SKY IM GONNA LOSE MY MIND!!!!! THE CHAPTER!!!! AHHHHHH MY BOYS!!!!
God I can't word anything correctly because I'm so caught up in how much I love it all!! The "sad little kid and disabled old man" act was really funny. I feel like Mabel is gonna get on their asses for that as soon as she learns about it.
I said it in my Ao3 comment but I'll say it again, I loved the scene with the translator implants!!! Dipper getting all worked up about it is so relatable. Me too buddy. Excited to see where their new literacy takes them, but also kind of sad that we don't get anymore of the incredibly funny dynamic of "worlds most anxious preteen boy does all the talking while the worlds best conman has to Just Stand There"
AND THE BONDING!!! AND THE CONVERSATION AT THE END ABOUT FORD!!!! AND DIPPER'S GUILT!!!!! AHHHH ITS ALL SO GOOD! I love it so much!!!!!!!!!! Million kudos :D
THANK YOU COPPER!!! your support is so, so appreciated — i really hope you know that!!! the mutual excitement for this fic really keeps me going! you are seriously the best. :)
oh, mabel is for sure going to have some Words. she's going to get on their asses about that and about a billion more things. i think when some time passes this bit will be something they look back on with some kind of humor. like dipper and stan will be closer than ever, joking about those few weeks when dipper was constantly giving him shit and hardly speaking to him. like it wont be funny, per se, but they'll be so close that it'll almost feel like a fever dream to look back on, and they'll all share a little laugh looking back at this time. especially the "worlds most anxious preteen boy does all the talking while the worlds best conman has to Just Stand There" bit. mabel will be extremely pleased that her forcing them to play charades ended up paying off.
but all that being said, stan was right in saying that mabel couldn't care less about dipper's criminal activity. as in, she won't think differently of him or be disappointed. dipper's internal monologue was a little idealistic of mabel. in reality, as we see in the traditional drifting stars au, mabel would've had to do similar things to survive. dipper is so hard on himself and anxious that he assumes that he's a fundamentally immoral person and that everyone else in his life (namely his sister) is good and better and incapable of "failing" in the ways that he does.
i think dipper will naturally get desensitized to this feeling because he'll have to. stealing will become one of the top ways they scrape by, so it follows that he'll have to get over his moral values a bit and find a way to rationalize his behavior even though it's in direct opposition to his values. i kind of had to grapple with canon (where stan's criminal activity is played off as a joke nine times out of ten) and actually try to have the characters grapple with this because theft is not a victimless crime, after all. i think as they continue to figure it out and dipper grows older, they'll make more of a pact to try to take from people who are well off. stealing from big corporations and the wealthy ✅ stealing from individuals and small businesses ❌
unfortunately they didnt have a lot of options this chapter.
and AHH, the translator scene! poor dipper. i almost had him pass out at that scene just to make it more relatable and cause i think it fits his character but i wanted to give him a break. but really, uh... are these guys ok? are they eating enough? i should probably know that. also as im writing this im realizing i didnt actually include them drinking any water these past few chapters. everyone assume they've been boiling lake water these past few weeks, okay?
i was really in a rush to get these guys talking and reading and hearing again. the amount of times i wrote dialogue between stan and dipper this chapter and then remembered, oh shit, stan actually still can't hear anything, was WILD. and also the scene where dipper's looking for acksyien's shop wasn't possible without a side character helping him recognize the alien word on the building since they couldn't read yet. it made for some fun world-building, but these new translators will make those things easier. my favorite implied bit i think is that stan and dipper's interdimensional translator collar was basically a giant beacon/sign that announced "i can't read!" to everyone around them.
I'M SO GLAD YOU ENJOYED!! thank you again for all the support. im happy to write all the bonding and there's more where that came from. more, even. a bunch of crazy stuff is about to happen — some of it good, some of it real bad, but at least they'll have each other every step of the way.
probably. hehe.

hi friend! i saw the post you made about being discouraged to post a fic on ao3 because it's not the kind of thing that gets popular, and there were a couple things that stood out to me. before i start, i just want to clarify that, as a fellow fic writer, i am reaching out in support and kindness. <3
firstly, what i hear you saying is that your fic is "no fandom" and is populated with original characters. so, is it a fic, or is it simply an original work? if it's an original work, you might have better success on wattpad. i haven't used that platform in years, so things might have changed, but i remember the type of content you're talking about being popular there...
...which leads me to my main point. from what i've seen, social media platforms largely used by youth propels a mindset of 'popular = good' and anything that isn't mainstream isn't worth your time. i'd like to propose a counterpoint using two personal examples. first, one of my favourite fics ever, a tragic romance between two traumatized people, is well over fifty thousand words and only has 98 kudos. second, one of the fics i'm most proud of writing only has 5 kudos. how do these two fics correlate? the first example flips its characters' typical dynamic, knowingly writing something niche; the second was written for a movie that was released twelve years ago, for a pairing with exactly two fics.
knowing full well that neither fic would gain massive traction within their respective fandoms, why did we post them in the first place? because we wanted to share what we loving crafted with the world.
even though neither fic is "popular," why do i still value them? because they were written out of love for the characters, for the craft.
everyone is different; everyone writes for a different reason. this said, writing for kudos, for hits, for bookmarks and subscriptions and comments starts to drain you. i know because i had that mindset when i first started posting fanfic, and after a while of getting lost under the swell of better, bigger, more "popular" stories, i started to forget why i felt wanted to write. i got demoralized. i wanted to stop writing. eventually, i ended up orphaning my account and taking a three year hiatus, at the end of which i rediscovered that i write to feel good. i write to connect with the characters. i write to create the stories i want to read, stories that someone else might want to read too. if it isn't "popular"? no sweat...
...because in the end, whether you're posting "no fandom" or not, what you get out of the experience is personal. don't get discouraged for fear of being unpopular. don't give up because your story isn't what the masses want to read. if your story means something to you, it's worth telling.
<3
Hi!
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to answer me☺️🤍
I have indeed considered wattpad, thing is the platform isn’t really like it used to be. Tho I’ll still try posting it there and maybe also here on tumblr:)
Like, sometimes it’s disappointing when i’m trying to connect with people through writing, and no one comments or seems interested in my story (especially when it feels like the majority prefers poorly written p0r.n stuff over stories people pour their hearts into) Even just one person enjoying is hugeeee, it’s like they become a friend, but when there’s no feedback (no comment/no kudos) it makes me overthink like, “did they read it and not like it?” it can be really discouraging.
But you’re so right, i do write to create the stories i want to read (i literally start writing fics after searching everywhere for something like I want and not finding it anywhere; and it’s exciting in a way to be the first one!) and maybe someone else will find them and really connect with them, too!:3 so tysm for reminding me😊💞

Extremely Hot Marauders Takes
(that will probably get me so much hate but it's worth it)
You would have found the "next big fic" in the fandom already if you were more willing to read wips. Reading them hyping up the writer with comments and kudos keeps the work going. That gives the writer more incentive to complete the work and more incentive for the work to then blow up.
A lot of people (not all, not even most, but enough that it's extremely evident) who write Jegulily very clearly only do it because they want to write something Jegulus but they're afraid to get hate from Jily shippers.
If you can get over the things that Peter, Regulus, Barty, and Evan did in canon enough to include/head canon them in canon divergent or alternate universe works and make them the good guys you should get off your high horse and do the same with Snape.
Outside of it being a very easy plot device a lot of the marauders fandom write Snape negatively because you can't handle the idea of Lily being presented in/with a non-crack heterosexual relationship with anyone but James
The demographic age change in the fandom skewing significantly younger than ever before has ruined a lot of aspects of the works in the fandom especially with the rising puritan culture of the Gen Alpha/Gen Z cuspers. You guys are prudes and if you don't want to read explicit works and smut move on, there is literally no need to interact.
People will sit on here and cry that the girls are underdeveloped and neglected in fanworks, and then play Ring-Around-the-Rosie with their relationships rather than bothering to develop them into something consistent and impactful. At this point there are so many half baked ideas that you could literally just swap out the names for any of the girls in any work and most people probably wouldn't notice.
WRITE A FUCKING OUTLINE!!!! It doesn't even have to be deep or well done, but you should have a vague concept as to the direction that your story is going in.
Most of you don't know how to use AO3 properly. Why the fuck are you marking a work as completed when it is so so very clearly not. Why in the world would you not include important tags just for shock value. And for the love of God, write a summary. I don't care if it's a one paragraph excerpt of your work followed by a "this is the one where this happens". I'm not gonna read your story if I don't know what it's about.

What the hell happened here what is the drama I'm so confused
fuck I really wish there was a place I could point to to explain this. but basically emily (an artist decently popular in rainworld spaces) got accused of grooming azriel (among other things such as being a zoophile), and at first these allegations were incredibly vague, saying to prepare for a document.
azriel released a video of him scrolling through a bunch of discord messages as proof of what happened. everybody started attacking emily along with others like the shipping container staff (a server, I don't know much about it of course, I was never in it.) and pansear.
so grooming is pretty bad right? we can all agree it would really suck if that happened right?
well you see the thing is, the evidence for grooming is shaky at best. you can read the document yourself. infact, I suggest reading the thing.
and that wasn't only thing in the document (which released months after this first happened.) there was other stuff such as claiming emily was a zoophile, and showing she was friends with fat fetish artists (yes. that's right, sorry fat fetish artists, you are being targeted in this document), with things like her fur affinity being shown to "prove" she was hanging out with weird people.
the zoophilia stuff does technically have zoophilia in it, but in whats shown it just looks like she's uncomfortable, or atleast not interacting with it and later leaves the server due to 'moderation issues'
now keep in mind that this document hasn't been available until like a few days ago however what was is the video and pansear's document about the situation. (which when this first happened was the one I read)
so not only were we relying on shaky evidence, we were also relying on shaky, hard to gather evidence.
and so what I think happened is that everyone on azriel's side kinda just, believed azriel at face value, and didn't read the actual evidence that was available at the time, or just skimmed it.
which like, sucks. I mean when going into any allegation you should try to believe the accuser's words. but using the information given, form your own conclusion.
and the evidence is so lackluster and resorts to name calling in enough situations where one has to scrutinize it.
and azriel was clearly harmed. and probably shouldn't have been talking to emily given how he reacted. but like. emily didn't groom them, atleast that's not what it feels like from the document and other sources.
it was, atleast in my opinion a bunch of misunderstandings and previous situations leading to assumptions and being over cautious.
this stuff probably should've stayed private. but it didn't.
and now a bunch of people aren't in the fandom anymore. kicked out because everyone believed someone's words at face value and just went with them.
oh yeah the rape fic thing was emily kudoing a rape fic. that's it, yes they dug through her kudos (something that iirc isn't public...) to find a rape fic she decided to kudo.
also at the time of these allegations azriel was 17. about to turn 18 in a few months iirc. I know he's 18 now.
but that's what I think, go forth, read the document and figure it out yourself. don't take my word for it.

Fanfic Writer Interview
Why, @hijinks-n-lowjinks, husband mine, thank you for the tag! Ask and ye shall receive!
◆ How many works do you have on ao3?
25 currently, if you're not counting my old hidden works and the even older shit I have on ff.net.
◆ Your top 5 stories by kudos/likes:
Hhhhh. I have a feeling I know which one is first... aaaaaand I'm right. HHHHHH.
1. Mother(ghost) of Mine - danny phantom, phantom family (HHH)
2. A Crown with Gems and Gold - fma, edling (MY PRIDE AND JOY)
3. The (Un)Subtle Art of Staring - fma, elric bros (this is from when I hc'ed Ed as GAY instead of aroace. GOD THIS SHIT IS OLD, WHY)
4. Apple of Your Eye - sk8 the infinity, roleswap au (:D!!!)
5. What Sort of Imminent Threat - epic the musical, astyanax lives au (:D!!!! pt. 2)
◆ Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?
YES!! BECAUSE I LOVE GETTING LOVE AND THE VALIDATION OF PPL LOVING MY WORK!! For every comment I receive, I gain a life <3
◆ What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Errrr, this is a tough one. Even tho I largely write angst now, I've yet to write an unhappy ending (tho I've def fantasized of it lmao). My angstiest ending is an unpublished S.C.I. fic, but published... Apple of Your Eye, ig? Cuz I leave it kind of open if Adam is defeated or if he gets to traumatize Reki more haha.
◆ What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Okay this is even tougher. Damn. I guess... By No Auspicious Day? I mean, edling literally get engaged. They're dorks. Yeah, that's the happiest one for sure.
◆ Do you write crossovers?
Definitely!!! I've got a young justice x fma crossover going on rn, and literally 99% of my other fma aus are set in other fandom medias lmao (hades, monkie kid, epic, hamilton... to name a few). I've also been contemplating a batman crossover where Ed and Mei (edling established) end up in Gotham and they meet the batfam while trying to get home 👀
◆ Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Errr, not quite hate but def some back-handed and passive aggressive comments. It got me to delete a fic once haha, cuz ppl lacked the reading comprehension to realize I didn't ask for criticism :)))
◆ Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
... So, I can now say yes to this. No, I'm not telling what ship. No, I'm never posting it under my name. Though I might clean it up one day skjvjkwgnw
◆ Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so? I hope not, anyway.
◆ Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
◆ Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope! I've listed a few fics as "co-written", but looking back on it, those weren't co-written at all. I did all the actual writing on those; I just overestimated in my head how much my friends at the time "helped" with my fics tho and wound up thinking "oh! i talked with them about the fic a lot, so they're co-writers!" No, babe, they're not. Recognize your own hard work and value plz.
◆ What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I honestly don't think I have one. Like yes I get intense hyperfixations and certain ships will be ALL I think about in the time, but that doesn't make them my favorite ever? My current fixation is edgreed tho lmao.
◆ What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Probably that one yunmeng prides fic i've got sitting at a pretty 16k in my drive LMAO. I just hit an awful wall with it and I KNOW I'll never have the energy to pick up from the point I left off. I'd have to rewrite the entire thing and... yeah, no.
◆ What are your writing strengths?
Emotional moments!!! I'd like to think I have a way with handling Big Emotions and the build-up that leads to them exploding! I've also been told a lot over the years that I'm pretty good at getting into my characters' heads, both the good and the bad 👀
◆ What are your writing weaknesses?
Action. Fucking ACTION, my god. Loathe that shit from the DEPTHS of my bones. Don't be fooled by my semi-decent results in fics, the actual process that's gone into any action scene ever has always been LITERAL HELL, SO MANY DRAFTS, TOO MANY FUCKING DRAFTS. If I could take action out back and shoot it, I would :)
◆ What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
For the love of fucking god, if you're gonna write ENTIRE dialogue and not just one line, do your goddamn research. DON'T JUST GOOGLE TRANSLATE THAT SHIT. IF YOU CAN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO SEE IF THE SENTENCE IS CORRECT THEN AT THAT POINT JUST WRITE IT IN ENGLISH AND SAY "HE SAID IN [LANGUAGE]". IT'S ESP ATROCIOUS WITH NON-LATIN-BASED LANGUAGES LIKE ARABIC (LOOKING AT YOU FUCKING ISHVALAN AUS).
(Edward Elric would NOT speak in perfect fancy-ass formal dialect, that nobody native actually fucking uses either??? He'd have the most EGYPTIAN ASS DIALECT. Hell, I'll take Jordanian too!)
9/10 times, we can TELL it's google translate, okay. It's stiff and formal and translates LITERALLY rather than contextually. And half the time it's also just fucking wrong. Languages aren't just your damn vehicles to make a fic ✨diverse✨, they're CULTURES. LANGUAGES ARE CULTURES, AND YOU ARE BUTCHERING THEM.
CUT THAT SHIT OUT, I AM BEGGING.
◆ What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
OOOOH, Magic Kaito!!! I'd LOVE to rewrite a kaishin version of it where Shinichi serves Aoko's role instead! I'd also love to dip my toes into writing sth for conqueror of shamballa, because by GOD do I want Ed to be happy in Germany with Alfons and Noah. Do I gotta do everything myself???
◆ What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Come on, you know it's Crown. You know. It's the canon rewrite of my DREAMS, exactly how I'd rewrite brotherhood if I was given the choice. I've got ANIMATICS in my head for this bitch, entire scenes, this is an ANIME in my head. I want AMVS FOR THIS MF. But that anime doesn't actually exist in a visual medium. And I cry.
POKING @sirchenchen @inthebluz @kaethefangirl @kiingleoturtles. Thanks again for the tag!!!

20 Questions for Fic Writers Tag Game
@whetstonefires tagged me! 17 was missing, and I searched for the meme and found one that had a question 17, so it's back!
1. how many works do you have on AO3?
256! But that's going back 18 years, so it's an average of a little over 14 fics per year.
2. what’s your total AO3 word count?
1,245,329. Which works out to an average of 4900 words per fic, or 69k words/year. Respectable, solid, but I know a lot of people who've written more.
Oh! But there are a couple of podfics in there, which probably skews the words-per-work a bit.
3. what fandoms do you write for?
Uh. A quick count gives me 112 fandoms on my AO3 page, so ... a lot. I regularly write for Yuletide, and I'm polyfannish, so. A lot. I used to be big into Stargate SG-1, so I've written a lot of that but not recently. Other top fandoms include Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, various DC fandoms, various Star Trek and Star Wars fandoms, Babylon 5, Terminator (especially the Sarah Connor Chronicles), the Vorkosiverse, the Goblin Emperor, and Rivers of London.
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Past Lives (a stalled WIP that is a Star Wars time travel fixit starring Finn)
Lieutenant Bennet's Visit (Temeraire/P&P with Bennet as an aviator)
Darcy's Surprise (sequel to the above fic)
Revenge of the Zillo Beast (Star Wars, Anakin-and-Mace-Windu Groundhog Day AU)
Far Above Rubies (P&P AU, Marry Bennet marries Mr. Collins and is quite happy)
5. do you respond to comments?
Yup! Or, at least, the ones that are more than an emoji or "second kudos!" I value those too, it's just ... what would I say?
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't tend to go in for angsty endings. But, as it happens, I did write an ending lately that was fairly dark.
Fertile Ground, Battlestar Galactica, Simon only bothered to continue the fertility experiments because the others demanded it. Things are different on New Caprica. Warnings for canon-typical ... everything
7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
How would one even judge? I have 256 fics, most of which have positive endings of one sort or another.
8. do you get hate on fics?
Not really? Or, at least, it's probably happened sometime in the last 18 years, but I just deleted it and forgot about it. I am very lucky, I know other writers who've gone through hell.
9. do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope!
10. do you write crossovers?
I love crossovers! AO3 thinks I have 38, but a few of those aren't really crossovers, just different corners of the same universe, and one of them is the work that combines most of my Twisting the Hellmouth crossover drabbles into one drabble collection. (The ones where I had several drabbles in a sequence to tell a longer story, I separated out to each be their own fic.) Anyway, it averages out to about two a year, although I have not written as many in the last few years as I did earlier in my fic writing career. Most recently, I have:
A Spy on the Golden State Train (Miss Fisher/Agent Carter gen)
Undiscovered Stars (Star Trek/Star Wars, Lando Calrissian/James T. Kirk)
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
Oh, sure, there have been a couple of times people have put some of my fics on those skeevy for-profit websites that pop up every now and again.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Twice! Both times into Russian. Though oddly enough, none of my Vorkosiverse fics have been translated into Russian. There is a very large and active Russian fandom for the Vorkosigan saga, so if I were going to predict which of my fics would be translated into Russian, it would be those. But no, the two that were translated are a DS9 fic, and a Doctor Who/Mary Poppins crossover.
Тридцать четвертое правило by Lazurit (The 34th Rule, DS9)
Завтра ветер переменится by Kollega (A Change in the Wind, DW/Mary Poppins)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
That's tough to answer. Does it include the ones that I abandoned, say, 15 years ago and haven't thought of since? I don't tend to post WIPs because I don't like them hanging over me.
Probably Hello, Piccadilly, Hello, Leicester Square, a Wonder Woman post-movie fic about Diana trying to figure out how to live in Man's World. I had a really great hook--they pass Diana off as a war bride--but no real idea where to go from there. Which is why it stalled out after only two chapters.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Worldbuilding, probably.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Endings and action. I am not good at writing either of them. The thing I am most likely to need a beta's help with is whether or not an ending feels like an ending or if I need to wrap things up better, and if so, what do I need to do to wrap things up. And action bores me, and it's really hard to write something that bores you, so I try to avoid needing to write it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't speak any other languages, so I wouldn't do it! Unless maybe I had someone who had already volunteered to translate for me.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Stargate SG-1! It was a spitefic that I wrote because I was so annoyed by all the Broca AUs. "The Broca Divide" was an episode where they all turn into cavepeople, and as part of it Sam Carter kisses her commanding officer, Jack O'Neill, who then takes her to the infirmary before succumbing to the infection himself. There were a ton of fics about that where they have sex instead and she gets pregnant, and afterwards she keeps the baby and they get married and everything is fine and the team stays together and nobody cares about fraternization or anything.
(There were a LOT of Sam/Jack fics out there where like the President or whoever would call them up and say "oh, you're in love? awesome! we'll just waive all the regulations about having a romantic relationship with someone in your chain of command because you're so extra special and awesome. Which really annoyed me.)
Anyway, I got annoyed enough to write a fic where they sleep together as cavepeople and she gets pregnant and things are not fine, actually, there are consequences to it.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
lol
I can never figure out my favorite anything. If you give me five options, I could maybe narrow it down to the top two. Out of 256? You have got to be kidding me.
Tagging @tielan, @alexseanchai, @mihrsuri, @birdylion, @anghraine

Ald I'll try to be as specific as I can then sqjjdhd
Starting with looks, I have kinda like a wolfcut, curly black hair and fair skin with a neutral undertone. My eyes r brown under light but in daylight they look almost black (i saw someone call that onyx eyes on tiktok??), also I wear glasses. Im not that tall, 1.62 cm and my body shape is hourglass, though my thighs r kinda thick TTvTT it kinda looks like those old statues that r missing a few limbs yk.
For personality, I value my freedom greatly and have a small (🤏) anxiety problem, im tryna fix it. I don't like to be in the front but I like to have people willingly do as I say. You can say I like to be the brain of the group, like the second in command. Despite that, I HATE being bossed around and told what to do, and i will be passive aggressive abt it. When I'm angry I either go Kanato or disappear until i feel better. I tend to feel everything all at once or nothing at all, and i dream a lot. And I mean A LOT, I can spend months in my room just daydreaming. People tell me my face isn't exactly readable and that I look like I wanna strangle them when in reality im really just zoning out or relaxing, and tbh im not bothered by this at all. I try to be kind and inclusive of everyone, but I'm also trying to learn how to set boundaries with people and stand up for myself when needed.
Dislikes and hates are kinda blurry bc one day I might love something and the next i will despise it, but there are things that will stay in the hated part forever such as anything that is considered an insenct (yes even ladybugs), hateful people in general. Other than that, I hate people who try to put others down just so they can take the "leader" role, people who don't think before acting, people who have no respect for my boundaries and insist on smth i already refused. And smaller things I hate are physical contact unless I'm close with that person, having my belongings used without my knowledge, people answering in my stead and being expectant.
Things I like— I love arts and crafts! Anything handmade from dolls, clothes, paintings, songs to food, drinks or even origami look like the most precious things in the world for me. My love language is all over the place (except words of affirmation, I will never say anything i don't mean and I don't really feel comfortable voicing my feelings) but mainly I show my love with quality time, one one really gets to spend time with me since I usually prefer to stay alone, but if i really like that person i will share my time with them. I'd prefer receiving love by acts of service or gift giving mainly, but any way of showing love is appreciated.
General info that probs won't be needed but i wanna put them here anyway. I'm an INTP, my sun is gemini and moon is scorpio, i tried skateboarding a few times but i gave up after failing each time, though i still wanna learn and i have the skateboard. For fashion sense, i usually go between grunge, fairycore, goth, acubi and clean girl (once in a blue moon). My music taste includes almost everything, but here's a few bands/artists i listen to the most these days:
—muse, evanescence, pastel ghost, slipknot, şebnem ferah, I Prevail, Abel Korzeniowski, Toshifumi Hinata, pantera, nightwish, metallica, avenged sevenfold, insanlar gerçek olsa, woest, crystal castles, deftones, cavetown, mor ve ötesi, the pretty reckless, chris isaak, frank sinatra, lady gaga, rihanna, system of a dawn, limpin bizkit, testament, slayer, linkin park.
Ig this is enough?? Pls lmk if i need to add smth :">
this is one of the most admirably detailed matchup infos I have ever received, kudos my friend!
honestly, I am so torn between which diaboy paintjob suits you best but I think I have settled on an acceptable answer: shu (though azusa is a very close second)
reason being, I feel like shu:
- is an anti-reiji type person. he is not the type of person to insist on you doing things and, as long as you do not bother him, would mostly respect your freedom and need for alone time
- would tend to tease through perverted insinuations rather than straight put you down (typically when you insist on him doing things your way)
- would be able to understand your moods the same way he understands subaru's
- is very much a 'quality time' type person
- is a big fan of honesty and saying only what you mean
- though he is not into your kind of music, he would appreciate your expansive taste (fellow music lovers UNITE)
- though he may not regularly comment on it, he would be rather fond of your artwork creations (especially if you would make one for him)
- I feel like his inner pervert would also enjoy the thick ;) thighs, hourglass figure, and goth fashion I hope you are happy with the matchup <3
#diabolik lovers#diabolik lovers matchup#sakamaki#mukami#azusa mukami#shuu sakamki#i promise I will get to your other asks when I am feeling a smidge better cause my skin condition rn is kicking me in the face D:

Right, so I (ariciabetelguese, on my main) was having a discussion with @addictofanimation on Alhaitham's actions towards Kaveh, but I don't wish to clog moonilit's notes further. So I invite you to continue our talk here, shall we?
First, allow me straighten out a misperception: I never claimed that Alhaitham doesn't care about Kaveh. I've stated that he does care, in an inept way ("he's clearly trying his best from his limited perspective, so kudos for that, I guess?"). But I still think what Alhaitham did was borderline cruel, and this is where I'm coming from.
In my youth, I was a lot like Alhaitham. Half the fandom cleanly pegged him an INTJ, and I am, too. He values rationality and knowledge, and so do I. He's practical and pragmatic; so am I. His insight can cut people to the quick, causing him to conflict with people; so had mine. Nobody liked to go up against me, and truth be told, I was perfectly content that way.
Alhaitham said he is not a leader. I agree. Here's where we differ: Alhaitham is not interested in exploring that, while I was.
So out of curiosity, I led people, despite hating every second of it. Here is what I found: 'tough love' as you called it only works if you can make sure the person was picked up afterwards. Pain is a great teacher, but only if you're treated after. Otherwise, there's a big possibility that the other person will actually be set back in their journey of healing, and if you get yourself cut off, there's really not much you can do to fix that.
And until the Palace of Alcazarzaray was built, Alhaitham was never there to pick up Kaveh, nor was he there to make sure that someone else did. I'm not even sure if he tried to apologize; was there a lore bit I missed somewhere? After all, to this day, he still takes digs at Kaveh's very ideals, the things he prided himself on, although people still disagree on whether or not Kaveh takes these digs seriously. Regardless, I don't think much of Alhaitham's methods, and seeing as Kaveh remained a stubborn idealist who literally gave up everything for Dori's palace, we can see that his methods didn't work out all that well, either, so... yeah.
When you are your own worst enemy, it takes a friend/family being real with you to snap you out of it. The best way to tackle illogic actions/thoughts is with logic and reality. Alhaitham didn't let Kaveh believe a lie (that it was somehow his fault) and used logic against it.
And yet.
Alhaitham had seen through the reality that he had never been able to face, causing him to feel reality's bite for the first time, a feeling that made Kaveh steadfastly declare that he regretted making friends with this all-too-intelligent person.
Kaveh already knows. He didn't even waste a second denying Alhaitham's words because deep down, he already knew. He was simply not ready to face it; he didn't know how to do so. To reiterate: as a whole, it's not a logical trauma, so it's not so easily solved with facts and logic. If it was, a brilliant engineer like Kaveh would've solved it easily.
What Alhaitham did was like telling a depressed person that they have no reason to be sad because they have too much to be grateful for in life. Detangling an illogical trauma is not that simple. Does that mean Kaveh was too sensitive? I guess, in the same vein of people who's just been wounded are too sensitive, geeze, why did you shout when I poured alcohol over your wound? After all, alcohol is good at cleaning wounds, no? What I did was a good thing!
Once again. I'm not saying that Alhaitham doesn't care about Kaveh, or that he wasn't trying to help. I'm saying he's incredibly inept at caring, and he ended up hurting more than helping during their fight. But then again, he was still young and inexperienced at the time, so I won't blame him too much for it. In the end, I agree that his friendship with Kaveh could be somewhat beneficial; both of them could learn from the other's example. After all, they're each other's reflection :)
#ari's rambles#alright getting a bit personal here#not part of the discussion#just a personal reflection#i'm harsher on alhaitham because he's too much like me#and because a lot of people idealize his flawed actions and perspectives#without realizing that those flaws *are* there#Kaveh's flaws may be way more obvious story-wise#but they're still mirrors. two extremes in opposing ways.#go too far in one direction and you will fall

Hey I saw your request are open and that's my very first time to do that, so if you aren't feeling comfortable or you request are closed, pls just ignore it.
It's not really a request but more like two questions.
Firstly, if you know Danganronpa ignore the text down there the question is extra. If not I will give you a summary of the important parts. In Danganronpa is a group of students of the Hope's Peak Academy imprisoned inside the school and have to kill one another to get into freedom. In their universe it's like there are people who were born with talents and are pros in that what they do, like a baker or something, and they are called a Ultimate as they could do it off the bat and only the "Ultimate" are allowed into the academy.
Now to the question, how would Yandere Chain react to an Ultimate Detective Reader. Reader will be more cautious of their surroundings and people, as they have many enemies as a detective. They would be suspicious of the Chain, if they do something like killing a man for being rude to Reader or something. Reader has probably learned how to fight and maybe has even a gun, just to be safe. If Reader is anything like Sherlock Holmes, maybe even love his books, they know more about the boys after a handshake than any Zelda and the Shadow together. The Chain maybe want to help them back at first, if the Shadow was at fault of their world traveling, if not it was probably the failed experiment of the Ultimate Inventor or something, just because they are geniuses doesn't it mean, that they can't make mistakes in their calculations. But after Reader proved their value to them as they could sniff out the shadow like a bloodhound, Twilight's nose is nothing against Ultimate Detective Reader, and probably after they figured out that Twilight and Legend are Wolfie and a pink bunny. They don't want them to leave as THEY FOUND THE RIGHT TRACK TO THE SHADOW LIKE THEY WALKED BACK HOME FROM SCHOOL. So how would any of them react? If they fell in love with a detective. Reader has the mind to annihilate an army with minimal efforts, you have to be in a criminals mind to solve a crime. Puzzles? Which puzzles? Their motto in dungeons. Fighting against brainless monsters, child's play. Humans in panic and trying to flee from their own created consequences aren't much different. They now more about antidotes and poisons than Legend knows about his rings and to top it all off, they are as stone-faced as Time and show as much reaction to pranks and emotions like a the stone you throw into water. So if the Chain fell in love with them, they have to solve puzzles after puzzles to unravel Reader's self, to get a reaction they carved for. They have to show Reader, that they aren't an enemy but an ally, but Reader is like "Yeah sure, and my name is Mary Poppins and fly with my umbrella through your kingdom." Reader is cautious but "in dubio pro reo", in doubt, rule for the accused.
If you read all that I'm so sorry, because the second question only make it's LONGER.
Question two. We have an isekai Reader this time, but something went wrong as they travelled to Hyrule. What went wrong? I hear you ask. Well their soul got separated from their body and now Reader is inside the body of one of the chain like Yugi and Atem did in Yu-Gi-Oh. If they have similar or a different personality as the Link, this is where the fun begins. Like a prankster reader in Wind's body. They will shift the blame on each other and if Wind comes with something like.
"I couldn't do anything! They just took over my body!!"
But Chain will take awhile to understand that Wind doesn't just have more pranks as usual in his head, but a different person as well! But after they figure it out, how will they punish someone if it was the other soul inside the body? And if they fell in love with reader, as they are originally older just stuck inside a child's body like Shinichi Kudo. Do they really want to punish their sweet and funny darling? Ohhh Wind and Reader gonna exploit the shit out of it and little brother Wind loves his older sibling to the bits for their shenanigans they plan together.
But if it's like a sarcastic and swearing Reader in Time, Twilight or Sky, as we all know these guys would never swear because of their upbringing, this reaction has to be filmed. Like imagine this, Reader's soul got yeeted into Twilight's body and he fell to the ground lika a bag of potatoes and as "he" wakes up. They hear Twilight for the first time swear, as reader speaks in his voice just not having an accent or maybe they do but a different or similar or same one.
Reader woke up in Twilight's body.
Wild: "Twi, are you alright? What happened?"
Reader/Twilight: "Who the fuck is Twi?! Where am I?! And who the fuck are you guys!?!"
Legend: "I never knew that Twi, can lose his memory from this fall. Must have a pretty empty skull."
Reader/Twilight: "Listen here, twerp. I don't care about your opinion, if I knew where I am. I would go and be out of your hair, but I'm sure have more in my skull than you have. No, in fact, I have more braincells in my small finger tip than you in your head."
Twilight would wake up sometime later and drag reader back inside his unconscious. They talk and reader explain their strange journey into Twilight's body. After that Twilight takes control and explain everything to the rest, which were confused as hell as Twilight just passed out two times under one to two hours. So now they have a new goal too, find Readers body to get their soul out of Twilight as they are a little afraid of a mad and swearing Twilight! Reader. They could slap Wind across the sea, if they aren't careful with their newfound or familiar strength and temperament. But along the way they fell in love in the other soul in Twilight's body and they would be two separate kinds. The Chain and Twilight. We all know Twilight would protect his mate at all cost and if he share his body with them. Then only he can see the beauty of Reader, only he can hear their real voice only he knows their image, only as a ghost following him, but he can see them. So the Chain is know trying to find reader's body, so they could hear their real voice, see their face and talk to them without hearing and seeing Twilight as they are jealous of him, he is sharing his body with their darling after all, and it's strange as hell for them. Meanwhile Twilight is trying to find Reader's body on his own and somehow, with magic or some shit, get it to his Hyrule and after their journey is over. Twilight will probably say, that he couldn't hear reader anymore and act upset at that. Nobody knows, that he got Reader's soul back into their body and they are in Ordon for quite some time. Nobody knows he acted like Reader for months, maybe even years. It has it advantages to share you body with another soul, even if he had to swear to deceit his sword brothers, but hey he is just a wolf pup in love.
So now a list with a Link with Reader with a different personality, that came to my mind writing this piece.
Sky - For his friendly and carefree persona, how about a wild and jumpy reader
Time - He is mostly the leader, stone-faced and prankster. Definitely emotional and worrywart reader
Twilight - We got for him the the feisty and sarcastic Reader, already, because in my opinion, Twilight doesn't really can say, what he wants to say. He sugarcoat things, but reader is like "No oh oh oh Bitch"
Hyrule - To balance his low self-esteem and self-worth, I think an confident and strong-willed reader would be good for him. I think, he would even be one of the Link like Twi is, if he shared his body with their darling, he doesn't want to share and as a fae he liked to protect his shinies.
Warriors - He is the strategist and doesn't trust anyone off the bat, so gullible and cheerful Reader.
Legend - He is sarcastic and has wits, so for him I have the kind and sweet darling, they are like the mother nobody of them ever had. He would definitely sabotage the search of Reader's body to drag it to his Hyrule and hide it until everything is over. He can't LOSE someone again.
Four - He has the colours and overthinks many things at the same time, so I think he need a chilled and kinda lazy Reader, someone who can help him to relax without thinking for a bit.
Wild - This man is reckless as fuck, he definitely needs a cautious and strong reader. So someone can atleast hold his leash that doesn't have the name Twilight, Time or Warriors.
Wind - As he is a child I wasn't sure if menace Reader was the only option for him, as anyone knows, calm, mature and intelligent kids are scary sometimes. So I have Prankster Reader and the Mature Reader. Mature Reader is calm and collected, they see things from a different perspective. I'm sure Warriors would talk to them a lot for some strategies for the next battle.
Sorry that's so long, and if you read it until know, I hope you had to laugh as much as I did as I got this two crazy pieces of "What the hell is wrong with you brain?"
I don’t habe much to add to this because i am not really present in either fandom, but holy hell I needed to share this with the people
