sometimes when i get writer's block and the document i'm working on starts to look more documenty and less creative, i choose a different font to work with and that usually sparks things up for a bit.

the font in question right now is comic sans in an awful, gaudy hot pink and if that doesn't scream mabel pines then i dont know what does

while dipper is forced to become more like mabel, using his newfound charisma to talk his way into food and water and shelter (and also just meeting new people and aliens and creatures and becoming more confident and self-assured over the year(s)), mabel adopts more of dipper's qualities. she's more anxious and doubtful of her abilities and self-conscious in ways she has never been before.

she forgoes sleep for nights spent in the basement and runs off into the woods in search of answers she doesn't even have questions for yet, and she spends more nights staring at the unicorn hair lining the edge of the shack than she cares to admit. (if she removed one and made one deal, just one deal, could dipper and stan be home tomorrow?)

one day, she finds herself on the floor of the attic, messing with the wiring of some component of the portal that her and ford have been working on for weeks and it really washes over her how much she resembles her twin. she still has that faded pine tree cap on her head, but now she has the matching dark circles under her eyes to add to the picture, and she wonders if her twin would even recognize her like this.
