i think after watching ep 7-8 ish i was like man i hope they do something with kinako she was my fav when the 2nd years were first introduced in the magazine but they've been ignoring her for like two seasons and BOY i got my wish ep 10 was absurdly fantastic and shot kinako back up to the top of my favs LOL even in ep 9 you could feel her steadfastness, near hardheadedness despite her low self esteem its SO GOOD so so good

and of course egao no promise is just right up my alley song wise LOL

dazzling game and superstar were also great! i think superstar will be like all the previous love live finals songs with liella where it grows on me more as time goes on, we shall see

BUT character wise this season has been so wonderful, every complaint i had about season 2 was dealt with and surpassed its CRAZY i love all the characters... i love all the songs.... the animation looked great..... they knocked it outta the park!!!

now i did nearly pass out in the beginning of ep11 where they played a bit of the instrumental of honno choppiri again. dare i hope? dare i hope....

jk jk (unless?) but i am very curious about what the last episode will be like, i imagine they wouldnt wanna go without a song right? but they already got three singles with two insert songs each..... ive seen theories about an 11 member version of an old song, like especially their debut song which would rule. what does the future hold...

its a bit of a missed opportunity to me that they dont have a liella no uta song where each episode is a different member and then the last episode is a group song or something since they have the perfect amount. but the songs we got are great and the little liella theatre skits are cute and fun <3

sapiens - also part of luigi's favorite's list!! this is by yuval noah harrari my GOAT guys.. i cannot STOP yapping about this book!! if u guys dont like reading very bulky texts and js want to get the main point there's a graphic history version and it's ive read it spits out points very concisely !! so either book it's all good :)) it's veryvery interesting it talks about evolution and why humans act like humans!! i love history and yuval noah harrari made me love evolution so much!! this book was rated a 5/5 by luigi (deserved hehe) girl honestly anyone ANYONE who gave sapiens a chance would also rate it 5/5 or a high rating it's a timeless lighthouse on the fog of defining humanity so since luigi is a very left brained man this deff fits his character all in all (oh js wanted to mention he rated sapiens: graphic history a 4/5)

harry potter - he rated 1st-3rd book a 5/5 def deserved !! ofc it's a classic ive had my harry potter phase die out and live again MULTIPLE times harry potter is probably apart of many people including luigi's first books ive read and loved list

the little prince - 4/5 (by luigi) it still freaks me out that he read the same books as a lot of us, watched the same movies as a lot of us, and that he's js a regular human but his actions moved society to forward him to transcend into the status of being "it is hell on earth to be heavenly - ts", almost even myth-like anyways back to the little prince it's rlly an AMAZING book !! it's a short read and it speaks so much about taking the truth of growing up and adulthood and making it alien through a child's eyes def made a lot of people relive an innocence that once was

animal farm - he rated this a 4/5 and i agree with that i read animal farm for school and it is a classic, so typical and so true i reference it all the time for me i gave it a 3/5 on my goodreads too because halfway through the book PLSDONT FLAME ME FOR THIS i kind ofalready picked up what george orwell was putting down - especially for the ending it was a bit obvious for me PLS DONT GET MAD IM SORRY anw it talks about the oppressive effects of a dictatorship (specifically communist government) and basically talks about how EVERYTHING gets political and even a revolution that looks toward freedom can get blurred when u lose ur ideals that's the main message i got out of this!!

the art of war - i havent finished the art of war yet..sigh.. he rated this a 4/5 and it's fitting since from the reviews ive read it's very strategic and calculated js like luigi so the rating matches with his personality

oh and i also wanted to mention that luigi is an absolute culture absorber !! so inspiring he reads books about the places he goes to eg. hawaii and based on pictures he's a very openminded social butterfly hehe

It’s time, for Black Myth Wukong, my thoughts after finishing. I havent watched any actual explanation videos yet, so this is my interpretation too.

Tldr is give this game, game of the century

With how Journey to the West is and how it’s got Buddhism massively mixed into it from Chinese culture, I’m honestly not surprised it showed so much emphasis on life and such

This game heavily focuses on life, death, misdeeds, truth, and what it means to take a journey and move forward.

Bit of context:

Sun Wukong denied the opportunity to ascend to buddahood, to have immortality, so that he could live amongst the world and be free. He is killed, and you start your characters journey to collect Wukongs lost relics to allegedly revive Wukong.

However, by the end, its revealed you were always in a cycle, a cycle that meant you would always come back to this place after journeying to the west collect Wukongs lost relics, and that you would die and the cycle would restart.

The true ending however, after collecting the armour and staff, allows you to travel to a previous area and fight Erlang, the person from the start of the game, once again. Upon killing the four heavenly kings and defeating Erlang. Its revealed that he was never an enemy. In fact, Sun Wukong and Erlang werefriends. And another truth is revealed. Erlang had infact hidden the sixth relic of Wukong (mind) the entire time, and after you defeat him, he returns it too you. And with that, after defeating the Wukong boss, this time, before the crown is put back on you, you remember in one of the most beautiful sequence I have ever seen, it flashback replays the real Journey to the West story in reverse order, showing how by regaining the memories, you can refuse to wear the crown again and break the cycle.

You were always Sun Wukong, trapped in an infinite cycle from that old monkey. However the old monkey was infact, by reading into his outfit and the text, a member of the celestial court, creating this cycle and grooming you into your supposed path each time.

The most important parts are each of the chapter endings, and prior to the Sun Wukong boss fight.

The chapters each always show an important lesson. A missdeed of mortals in some way. Each related to the buddhism ideals. And this links into the other part, right before the fight. You travel in a boat, with the old monkey telling the acts of Wukong through his life. The things he did wrong, and badly. And they all relate to the chapter endings, on how the final bosses you defeat also comitted these same acts. The greed of Yellowbrow, the lust of Baijie. How everyone always wants to be free, but also to ascend to buddahood, but one cannot have both, and shouldnt have both.

And the entire point of the true ending, is that you are meant to overcome those misdeeds and wrongdoings, by learning from not just those you take down, but from Wukongs past itself too. And you do this by finding and fighting Erlang and killing the four heavenly kings. Thats the way you unlock the real ending, because you overcome those past trails and you finally break into being better. Your journey the entire time, it wasnt about resurrecting Sun Wukong, it was about learning to be better, to move forward.

Wukong wasnt perfect. He did a lot of bad things, but the one thing he still remained was that he was infact a hero to many, and a villain to others. But the most important thing too him, was that he was free. Freedom he lost the moment the crown was forced on him at the start, and ever since he died right at the start and generations past, he had been in a cycle over and over and over.

The journey all along was about finding the way to be better than those wrong actions, and in doing so, you find englightment. You find peace. And with that true ending, it takes us all the way back to the start of the story. The start of the real Journey to the West story.

PS: Chapter 5 was the real start to the tease of the cycle. The ending story part was a big hint. And in a past cycle, you actually killed the fox girl that was the daughter of the bull. Well, Baijie did, so she was never even alive by the time you played that Chapter. It was always the son in an illusion. Its why the bull says that wherever you go you always leave a broken family. Its why the water guy says you dont even know what you are destined for. Its why a lot of the bosses make reference to you coming back not just from death. Youre stuck in the cycle.

What about when Calla's also constantly getting off over hurting Geta. Like it might not be explicitly directed, intended to be sexual, does that change what's happening? Not ONE bit. And yes that's because he's fundamentally broken in ways that can't be course-corrected, and yes Geta's perpetually trying to draw these lines between them but he's failing almost as much as he's trying because at the end of the day he's just as damaged as Calla is, just the ways differ.

IS THIS PLATONIC? What's more important, intent or the bigger picture? The bigger picture or its details? Geta wants them to be normal, Cara's too far gone to put distinctions, which just puts more weight on Geta's shoulders to be drawing the lines, and drawing the lines digs so deep into his own needs that he keeps caving back in. They do things together that aren't socially acceptable. The way that they're close when no one's watching and even honestly when people are is actively raising Lucilla's hackles because she's been there and that's too close for comfort. But for all that it is, in that sinking ship of Calla's mental state and Geta's attempts at holding onto any semblance of normalcy, they're still trying to be what they were as children, and that never crossed the line. Even now, it would not be crossing any lines if it wasn't for Calla's significant mental decline. His blurred grip of reality and the devastation his condition's wrought on his judgement and inhibitions are single-handedly dragging Geta down with him for all his own vulnerability and unfulfilled needs.

Again, IS THIS PLATONIC? Mild allusions to incest is not it, but it's also... not that. There's symptoms and there's vulnerability and there's the will to keep each other safe, even when that's from themselves. And the knowledge that should they just let the lines go altogether, they would both be so fundamentally hurt for it there would not be any coming back from that. For all of Calla's lack of caring of how his actions look or play out or how he's seeking pleasure, if Geta would actually reciprocate even one bit of the degree of push that he's giving him, he'd go catatonic out of fear, there's no actual consent or will there to be found. What he does to Geta is a one-way street of personal gratification solely because it's safe and loving at the end of the day, even when what he gives into it is pain and abuse. Geta, on the other hand, might experience a fleeting sense of euphoria for finally letting go of all of it at once, all the responsibility and worry and grief and legitimately just saying fuck it all to hell, but he'd come out the other side someone who can't live with who he's become and what he's done and what's been broken for it.

This fucking thing is a nightmare because of how fundamentally damaged these people are.

ANYWAY YEAH LUCIUS/RAVI IS SO GOOD MAN and I'll present this concept to Caracalla and Lucius over a fine dinner but I have no idea if either of them would have the slightest interest in participation. Honestly Cara might just because like you say he'd NOT want to be left out, but you get weird results for a relationship like that and Lucius is way too we'll-adjusted still to be dragged into whatever the hell is going on here. Maybe some wine will ease up the inhibitions on that end, I don't know, but like. Getting anybody but Geta to see anything good in Caracalla has taken us 120 000 words but if we can do that with Lucilla, maybe we can do it with Lucius, too, lol.

in my opinion i think the opla did a very good job of trying to emulate the one piece manga and anime, but there’s a part of the anime that they can’t really convey through the live action. like… i think that the cartooniness of one piece, as well as the occasional emotional moments is what makes one piece one piece, but while the opla was able to get some of it, being a live action, it wasn’t able to convey all of it

it’s still wonderful, and i love it, but i like to compare it to the percy jackson movies. good live actions in their own right (still think opla did it WAY better) but compared to the original, it falls short (percy jackson a lot, opla a tiny bit)

i think the main issue for me is the characterisation. inaki did a very good luffy, but you can clearly see how it’s so inaki luffy instead of luffy luffy. still good, but still different

and i think mackenyu did zoro well, but in my opinion, it doesn’t fit him very well. zoro (while i still love him) isn’t as pretty as mackenyu is. mackenyu is too much of a pretty boy

i actually remember hearing in an interview that mackenyu grew up with anime, and of course one piece. i think he emulates zoro extremely well, and he tries his best to make it anime accurate, but he as a person just doesn't fit perfectly, the vibes are kinda off. still absolutely in love with him though

i think that it shouldn't have skipped so many parts of the original, but of course, it completely makes sense why they did

anyways, like i said, i think that if you don't compare them to each other, it's very good, and i do love how they did it (i'm also so happy that so many people loved the live action that they're actually starting to watch the anime!!)

My biggest fear when the adaptstion was announced was precisely that, bc one piece is so one of a kind, it can make you smile, it can make you sad, you cry tears of joy and of pain, and the anime takes the time to develope the charecters, the stories and the world, so sometimes the emotions are conveyed in such a subtle but effective way bc they took the time to make sure it did. Not to mention the tone and aesthetic. There's a lot that was gonna be difficult to translate to live action

That said, so far i think they did it great! I think they found a certain balance between the cartoonish and the 'real world' lets call it, and they took advantage very cleverly of cgi and practical effects to achive that too.

I agree the thing that perhaps lacks for me too is the charecters and also the pasing imo. But again, it was impossible to fit the storytelling way of the famously 'too long' anime in a 8 episodes per series format.

I too think Luffy feels the most different, i already talked a bit about that and i think it was just the result of it being a western production plus the complex charecter Luffy is. But Iñaki put so much love into his Luffy, you can feel it, its endearing

I dont have a problem with Mackenyu's Zoro funny enough. Sure, i miss how silly anime Zoro can be (but again, the tone thing) and they tried to make it too purposefully imo. Zoro is not edgy. He is badass and a maniac but he doesnt want to wear only black or cares about pressenting an "attitude". But there's a ray of hope for me (i havent finish the show so it might change my mind), the biggest stupid ass smile when he said he'd cut Helmepo's hair. He can be silly and less serious, so i hope i get to see more of that as he feels more comfortable in the crew.

Nami i like, im waiting for the Arlong park arc to make up my mind bc thats where her true colors shine either way. Really liking her dynamic with Luffy so far tho

And Usopp, i just met him and this might sound mean but this Usopp is too cool. Kinda like what you said for Zoro. I think this Usopp has more confidence in himself than anime/manga Usopp did back then and he is not that much of a coward. The coward part is important bc every time he stood up to fight it meant so much more. But again, is early for me to make up my mind this is just first impressions

But like you said, this is just bc of the comparison, on its own i think they are all doing amazing jobs and, so far for me, the writers managed to pull off something that to me was next to impossible and in a great way too.

Im curious to see how someone that hasnt watched the anime reacts to the mixed tone of live action meets silly cartoonish vibes, i hope its not too of context for a first time watcher

she would instantly let a plant die (not engaging enough for her to remember to take care of it) would likely do Slightly better with a pet (aware of the social contract in taking care of it, and spent a lot of time in her young adulthood in caravans where horse/ox care was a group effort so shes aware of that type of responsibility, though if shes in charge of it for too long shes likely to just get distracted and accidentally let it get away). shed be decently good with a kid and has a lot of weird life stories that make her a very engaging cool uncle type (jackies kids fucking loooooove her), but she shouldn't really be trusted with childcare past like, babysitting, because she'll impress some Very weird ideas about being a person in the world on those kids completely on accident.

well. she tends to think that shes more correct than anyone else in 99% of situations, so taking advice from people is not something she does particularly often, if ever. she has a translator friend who i havent yet named that she is surprisingly Most likely to take advice from, but this friend also lives on the other side of the continent and they only communicate via letter when samira needs something translated. so. you know. she also takes advice from feynman. (<- SHE SHOULDNT.)

jackie is the person she is LEAST likely to take advice from, despite being one of the few people in her life that truly has her best interests at heart. she will (occassionaly) specifcally take caving advice from lou, but rankles at lou giving her personal advice, despite how she feels about her.

30. What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

samira has constructed an entire worldview that renders her immune from guilt for any action she would take in order to finish her work (shed get along great with baru.) so there are very few things she would do that she feels the need to be forgiven for. the exception is, of course, going home, if she felt she were able to go home and be forgiven for doing that (given that her sister has expressed her family wants her to stay away) she would, instantly.

3. Ask them to describe their love interest.

i think penrose would describe feynman as intense, focused, deliberate, and engaging. she finds the way that feynman is dead set on a worldview that odilia finds foolish to be quaint or charming, and is far less fooled by feynman's general standoffishness than feynman would really like.

feynman thinks odilia is a sentimental idiot and finds her genuine faith in her religion laughable. she mostly treats their conversations as a way to ferret out where odilia is wrong, catch her in a lie, and turn over her worldview - but she would also describe odilia as the best conversational partner she's ever had. theyre kind of like hilson ?

The 100: Homecoming - Kass Morgan (7/10)

Just as I write this, I realise I infact read the third book of the series, and not the first, or even the second.

No matter, though. While I don't know much about the events of the first and second book, this one adequately explained the important events.

I finished this book maybe a week ago, and I wrote up a review in my book directly after, I've simply been procrastinating typing it up (I'm an expert procrastinator...)

Either way, it may be because I havent read the other books in the series yet, but i don't think that this would be one of the books that sticks with me (to be fair, over the past 5 years only maybe 20 of probably around 500 have....), although I did enjoy it!

To my pre-written review, though.

I'd heard of the 100 many times in the past, although I'd never quite figured out the plot. Going into this movel, I'd assumed it was the first (quite wrongly) and when I'd realised, I couldnt particularly bother finding the first. And its not like this was a long read, finished it in just a few nights, with only an hour or so of reading each night.

Starting with the characters. I'll be honest, it wasnt too hard to figure out the main ones (as it switched between their perspectives). Bellamy, Wells, Clarke and Glass, but also Sasha and Luke, with Rhodes as the main villain.

This book opened from Glass' perspective, and it took me a while to gain my bearings (Likely because its the third book, and I havent read the first). Hers and Lukes side of the story seemed wholly unesscary to add in, and its not shown particularly often either. Mostly just flashes of her scared, confused, or acting in love with her boyfriend, Luke. Her prime motivator also appears to simply be Luke. I believe that her perspective was only added, as it was likely a main one in the other two stories...

Luke. In this book, he wasnt too fleshed out (potentially because they did that in the first book), but he seems like a nice moral and rule abiding guy.

Bellamy was probably my favourite. I found him a bit shallow in the start (although I had no background context), But he's funny, bold, loyal, and caring, although quite reckless. He's out of action and unable to fight for most of the story, due to one of the earlier events.

Clarke is said by Glass to be coldly professional, but if I'm being honest, I couldnt see that. She seems nice, seems to know her job, and in my opinion is really quite cool.

Wells seems cool too, and we definitely see parts of his past portrayed in his personality. He seemed quite a real and pretty good guy. Shame what happened to Sasha, though.

Sasha seemed like a sweet girl, she really didnt deserve her fate.

Rhodes. The novel really was quite good in portraying him as bad, and I'll be honest, I was quite disappointed by how they didnt kill him in the end, but i suppose it makes sense.

Now, onto the worldbuilding. I get the feeling that i probably missed most of that stuff, as itd have been in the first two books, but after a bit i did understand most of it fairly well.

The plot doesnt seem too original either. Group of teens, with the wrong authority figure, wishing to be able to control their own lives.... but either way it wasnt bad!

Overall, pretty good book. Its fame hyped it up a bit much, but eh. 7/10. Read if you wanna, it's interesting but not the type i'd fangirl about. Might read the first few books though, I'm interested in Bellamy.

The nitty gritty is watering down katara's character so she's just a meek girl ? Your lying If you really think that's the same character. The producers said they would take an axe to the main characters and that's where the show really suffers...also nothing is perfect people like you is why we get stuck with mediocrity

?? I finished episode 5 but what😭 how is katara just a meek girl, i feel like yes she has a little less rage but other than that she shows that shes smart and powerful and her own person? Explain what is watered down i feel like animation usually over-exaggerates facial expressions and voices for the most part, so i’m not surprised that katara has more subtle strength so far, and also the actress has a very kind face, but i think shes still able to show some of that anger. (I havent watched the water master fight yet so maybe thats where you’re talking about, so i cant speak on that)

Idk what taking an axe to the main characters means (like really cutting them apart? Cuz i doubt they would promote a show by saying its gonna be bad but who knows). But i feel like the characters are all pretty accurate with how they carry themselves, of course they’re younger so acting wont be perfect but i think the imperfections are what brings them to life. I know a lot of people hate the writing, i feel like it’s quite similar to the show? (Though its been maybe 3-4 years since i last rewatched it) and some lines especially from something previously animated are gonna sound awkward in real life, which is why generally i believe live actions arent necessary for any animation, though in this case i’m really enjoying just rewatching atla and my childhood be brought to life.

Nothing is perfect: ok i was using perfect mostly because i was very excited about it, of course i know theres things that could be changed to improve it but a lot of those things are impossible (like you cant get an actress thats EXACTLY katara and will make everyone happy, because shes a drawing) but overall, i think the landscapes come close to perfect (i’m just really into fantasy scenes and i think it’s so beautiful and impressive to see things like the omashu supply rail and the air temple come to life. And zuko’s boat looks so awesome and so accurate too.) And i thought the cgi looked slightly silly at first (especially air) but then i realized that we were always seeing drawings of aangs air in the animation which would look even stupider irl so i made my peace pretty quickly.

People like me is why we get stuck with mediocrity… hm. I feel like my opinion probably has nothing to do with what comes out on tv, especially because in this society haters have the real power, and you guys tearing it down are more likely to get it cancelled. I don’t think any production team takes an animated film or show and thinks ‘yea im gonna make this absolutely awful,’ (though i’m really not sure what they were thinking when making the pjo movie, its good as a standalone but they went so off course from the plot…) of course they’re all just trying to fit what they think into the show and express their own opinions, which are ultimately going to be a lot different than some people watching it.

Overall, ok i haven’t watched the og in years, so my memory on comparing each episode of the show to the live action is not going to be at the level of others (which i think boosts the enjoyability 100x over). But as i watch it, i remember tons of parts of the animation, and it makes me super happy that it has the same air as the show, albeit slightly more serious because they can’t fit all the funny filler episodes (if they ever created a live action lost appa episode i would lose it that cannot happen).

Maybe i sounded rude in my original post (i changed it quickly bc it was very angry at first lol) so sorry i know you’re all entitled to your opinion, it’s just i was SO EXCITED and then checked the tag on tumblr only to see that everyone hated it… i always feel inferior to people who really like films etc because i tend to enjoy things that other people hate, (like i really enjoyed the avatar way of water movie even if it was super long, and i know people DESPISED it). So maybe i seem like someone who is satisfied with mediocrity, and maybe i am, i focus mostly on the backgrounds and beauty of movies because im really into art and much less on acting and script (though i can appreciate beautiful characters, i was Blown Away by live action suki and hair down sokka my jaw dropped fr) i agree i am fairly simple to please in terms of this type of thing.

going back to my brother’s bff but w/ Riki/Noa + Dark Moon: Blood Altar lore/theories + red string of fate au (1/?)

One of the theories that I heard before is that the members time traveled to the past and intervened in something that was supposed to happen and therefore destroyed their futures and in the future they suffer the consequences of their actions.

Here comes my idea:

Heesung was always supposed to protect Sooha/Selene but as added protection the Queen made his little sister aka reader one of Sooha’s lady in waiting. Reader is connected to Riki by a red string of fate and was always destined to meet him. In the members’ desperation of finding who and what they are as well as finding the truth of it all they accidentally prevented Riki from meeting reader which caused a major impact/consequence to Riki.

The thing is, Riki was always supposed to meet and fall in love with reader in each and every lifetime. Reader was supposed to be the light in Riki’s darkness, when Riki loses his control over his powers and falls into darkness reader is there to bring him back into the light. Also she’s kind really good w a sword and has healing powers (not official tho still not sure about her powers but def gonna put her 2nd place in most powerful)

Falling into present, by preventing that from happen not only does Riki fall weak mid-battle but also he feels a heavy ache in his heart and feels a tightening on where the string should be. Enemies take advantage of this moment of weaknesses and almost kill him. Heeseung brings a sickly Riki back to the dorm and basically searches what happened, the universe grants him his wish and finds himself seeing fragments of what could’ve and should’ve happened (aka memories of Riki and reader’s lives together and also alternatively memories of what they could’ve been). In the end, Heeseung just goes on a journey to the past and fix everything. When he comes back he finds a no longer sick Riki cuddling w reader in his bed and both are asleep. as it should always be.

PS: I feel like I just wrote a whole series/fic 😮‍💨 it’s so long I’ll just explain in my 2nd ask for some corrections and clarifications hence why I placed the “(1/?) thing -💐

caitie i need you to know that your one piece journey has kickstarted my own one piece (and more generally anime) journey and that you are so right. you are soooo right. luffy IS the best boy. hes so silly and stupid and funny and GOOD and hes the BEST. i havent finished the arlong park arc yet but the fight against don krieg was so!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when he kept coming back to shatter don krieg's armour and he was furious bc of how gin was treated i just!!!!!!!!!!! thats MY future king of the pirates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m so glad to know you’re joining me on this, it’s so good!!!! I’m sachiaechaeicbaicaeb. Yeah the don krieg fight was honestly I think what really Really sold the anime for me. It was just. Ack. Like watching sanji come to understand who Luffy is and what he’s about with his adoptive father’s commentary over the course of observing the fight!!!!! So good!!!!! Arlong Park is likewise simply impeccable, I hope you enjoy.

I do think the live action is also very good though, I still need to finish it now that I finished arlong park in the anime, I decided to watch that arc in the original first. Really hope they get more episodes next season.

Can’t wait to watch the gang keep finding new islands to liberate from whatever oppressive regime has attempted to colonize them and continue to find new crew members and allies!!! Idk why I was so reluctant to avoid something with 1000+ manga chapters, that’s so much plot with this cast of characters I now have left to enjoy, that’s a Gift!! Thank you Oda-sensei you were right actually I should not have doubted.

Also as a last note, I’m also just glad to hear you’re getting more into anime in general, I think there are quite a few you will enjoy and I Do have more recommendations if you want some in the future :)
