Can anyone tell me where this is from? I’d just love to have a coherent lore and worldbuilding and then a plot in whatever medium that fully explores that for DMC. Haven’t seen the latest anime yet, but, as I understand it, the showrunner again does his own thing.
I get that DMC developed organically and haphazardly from different creators, games and media, but what I’m most interested in (and perhaps I can dare to say most people are interested in) that I still don’t feel has been adequately explored is Sparda, his backstory and his relationship with Eva and how that fully affects the twins and how they take it forward. We get hints of this from various games and spin-offs, DMC 3 and 1 likely being the ones with the most hints followed by 5, but it’s still not enough. Also I want it as a story to make sense, it’s got such potential and I wish it fulfilled that.
Forgive me if the latest anime does fully answer these questions, as I said I haven’t seen it yet, just heard rumours, but I’d love an anime remark of DMC 3 with integrated plot from DMC 1. And for the love of the Saviour, can we give Eva an empowered role with agency even if she does get fridged. Her OG creator made her a Bayonetta witch eventually, she is an awesome character with such potential.

"...his father was a hero, his mother a good woman who his father probably died to protect and he was the product of their love..."
💙❤😿
This gets me in the feels. Dante isn't stuck in the past. He values it but he doesn't actively pursue it. He knows his worth, he knows and loves his beloved parents and he will cherish their memory.
Dante loves Sparda and Eva.
#dmc#devil may cry#Sparda#dante#dante sparda#Vergil#vergil sparda#eva#eva sparda#i attempted a fanfic on this in 2018 but dmc 5 basically took my inspiration away#Eva and Sparda are so intriguing#give me that story

A Ninjago Legends: Monstrosity Theory
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Alright, so I’ve heard chatter regarding this particular moment in the trailer for Monstrosity:
Now, while others have speculated that this mural could foreshadow Kai somehow becoming part insect or otherwise come to blows with a giant centipede, I’d like to bring something up I haven’t seen anyone else mention or comment on, that being the fact that legends detailing giant centipedes are actually a part of Japanese mythology.

Specifically, I am referring to the relatively obscure yōkai called the Ōmukade. As the legends explain, the Ōmukade was an utterly massive centipede with legs that looked like lit torches that was so long it was capable of wrapping around entire mountains several times over. Moreover, these massive beasts were said to prey on humans, despite human saliva being a major weakness to it. It should also be noted that the Ōmukade was also noted as being so powerful and vicious that they were also capable of hunting, killing, and eating dragons.
Now, while most people have been focusing on the nightmarish situation Kai has found himself in after The Merge, I can’t help but wonder if the mini-series will have a far reaching effect on the greater story outside of what happens to Kai. Like, I get that season 3 of Dragons Rising has established what seems to be the overarching villain going forward, but I can’t help but wonder if events that will be shown in Monstrosity could allude to yet another existential threat posed to the Source Dragons and the Merged Lands as a whole, quite possibly with Kai himself serving as the epicenter of this threat in some form or fashion.
I get that this theory is next to completely baseless and it’s unlikely that an Ōmukade will actually show up let alone factor into the broader series. Whatever the case, I’m leaving this here for anyone that’s interested and I’m more than happy to hear what other people have to say about this.

I’m really curious about your drive! Gen!!
You mentioned recently Zipped Up is important considering the “current climate of media” can you elaborate on what you mean by that??
Like… what climate, which media?? I haven’t seen any concerning trends, so I’m very curious on your outlook!
I don’t want to get too political, but I’m from the United States, and it’s only become increasingly concerning to me that we’re defunding every aspect of children’s entertainment possible. I grew up with so much content that was appropriate for me when I was younger, and I told myself my entire life that I’d create something that could further inspire children the way I was inspired as a child.
It feels like media now is solely focused on adult content. There aren’t any shows for children besides maybe 2 or 3 that aren’t remakes or reboots. It’s so interesting to me how Zipped Up is being treated on other sites, as we’ve received hate and immense negativity just because of what we’re trying to create for those who don’t have something like Zipped Up.
People can say that it’s a Helluva Boss copy or that it looks bad as much as they’d like, but my team and I know that at the end of the day, we’re doing what we do for the kids and families that have nothing safe to watch.
Zipped Up is a swear free, sex free, brainrot free show that I’ve been hard at work crafting since High School. The older I’ve gotten, the more I realize how important it is that we pull through and make this pilot a reality. The Kickstarter funding will only help us get it to you guys sooner rather than later.

The bass is rattling the windows. Bodies move in waves—sweaty, high, hypnotized by the beat. The air reeks of weed, perfume, and the kind of luxury that doesn’t come with hard work, just pretty privilege and the right kind of smirk.
She’s lounging on a velvet couch in the corner of the penthouse, legs crossed, a half-finished blunt pinched between two glossed fingers. Her lashes are too heavy for how high she is, but she keeps them lowered just enough to keep the boys guessing. Not that she has to try.
She takes a lazy pull from the blunt and exhales through her nose like a dragon, nose scrunched in amusement when another guy in a leather jacket comes over to offer her another drink she won’t finish. He talks, but she tunes it out.
Because that’s when she sees him.
Gojo Satoru.
He’s across the room like he owns it, even if he doesn’t. Leaning against the marble kitchen counter with a red solo cup, shades on indoors, white hair catching the light like it’s begging to be touched. He’s watching her. Has been for the past few minutes, maybe longer. She can tell.
She smirks.
When he starts walking toward her, her heart skips just a little. Not that she’d show it. She leans back further, like she isn’t about to make room for him beside her. Like she doesn’t already feel heat curl low in her stomach.
He sits without asking, thigh brushing hers like it’s an accident. It’s not.
“Didn’t think I’d find you here,” he says, voice smooth and smug. “But I guess the smoke always leads somewhere interesting.”
She glances at him, blowing out a puff of smoke just past his face. “You stalking me, Satoru?”
He hums a low laugh. “I wouldn’t call it stalking. Just… observing.”
“You always observe girls this hard?” she asks, eyes dancing.
“Only the ones who wear $3,000 shoes and make it look like they stepped out of a music video.”
She rolls her eyes, but her grin gives her away. “I didn’t pay for them.”
“I know,” he says, grinning wider. “Neither did you pay for that necklace, or that bracelet, or probably even that blunt.”
“Jealous?” she teases, resting her chin in her hand as she watches him.
He doesn’t take the bait. “Nah. I’m impressed. You’ve got half the city in your pocket and you haven’t even broken a sweat.”
She shifts slightly, pretending to stretch, which just so happens to press her shoulder closer to his arm. “Guess I’m just good at getting what I want.”
He leans in, and now his lips are barely a breath away from her ear.
“So what do you want right now?” he asks, voice low enough to hum beneath the music.
She should’ve known he’d play dirtier.
Her lashes flutter, her mouth twitching like she might bite her bottom lip, but she doesn’t. “I’m still deciding.”
His fingers graze her knee—bare skin, delicate touch, almost like he’s just brushing off lint. She knows better.
“I’ve got time,” he murmurs, thumb stroking slow up to her thigh before pulling away like he never touched her at all.
Her throat feels dry. Not from the smoke.
“Careful,” she says softly, “you might end up being one of those fanboys who sends me gifts and never gets a thank you.”
He laughs again, leaning back like he’s not phased—but she sees the flash in his eyes behind those dark shades.
“I don’t need a thank you,” he says. “I just want front row seats when you burn this whole place down.”
The lights flash red, then blue, then gold.
She finishes her blunt and hands him the filter, still warm. “Hold this for me.”
He takes it, fingers brushing hers.
And for a second, the world shrinks. No music, no crowd, no smoke. Just her pretty smirk and his cocky grin, sitting too close on a couch that’s already seen too many stories.
They don’t kiss.
They don’t need to.
Because every touch, every glance, every word already says it—
Both of them are yearning for something greater.
Authors note: sorry guys for being late on post I just haven’t had time honestly. ☹️ Hoping I can be free and ready to start again Monday.

hi em!! I was at a national music consert today (yes balalaika was there. yes katyusha was played too) and I kept thinking about ostinato!!
how are Max and Charles doing? are they happy 🥺?
also good luck with your masters!!! I'm working on my thesis as well and Microsoft Word is going to make me through up soon, so I hope you're doing better!!!
hi tysh!!! omg...the boys...thank you for checking in on them!!
Show me your living room
Max blinks down at his phone. He glances up the dishes he’d been scrubbing to glance around his living space: his sweatshirt thrown over the back of a dining chair, sandy shoes still in a pile in front of the door, Jimmy sniffing at the screen with lazy interest.
He wipes his wet hands on the kitchen towel. Why? He types back carefully.
He doesn’t get the chance to hit send before the phone is ringing. He swears softly and swipes to accept the call with a still-soapy pinky finger.
“Why am I looking at your ceiling?” Charles asks politely.
“Hello, Charles,” Max says into the room. He flicks the water on, rinsing his fingers quickly.
“What is that noise?”
“It’s the sink. I’m cleaning.”
“You are cleaning the sink?”
“Well, I’m doing dishes.” He dries his hands again before scooping his phone up and turning to lean against the counter. “What is it? It’s early there, no?”
Charles is sleep-rumpled and soft around the edges, dimples already pressing into his cheeks. His eyes are still heavy-lidded and a little puffy, but it only makes Max want to wrap him back up in blankets and fall asleep at his side.
“Xavi called me,” Charles says slowly.
Max squeezes his eyes shut. Right—the piano. “There should be room in the living room for it, but it will be cramped,” he warns. “I talked to Jenson, and he doesn’t mind the sound. Of course I’m always making a racket.”
“Mmh, racket,” Charles hums.
“He just wants to know when you’re planning on having it sent over if it’s going to come here,” Max continues. “You remember from when you visited?”
“Yeah, I remember.”
“It’s small. The acoustics aren’t very good.” Max leans forward to peer through the doorway. “I brought a rug, but yours will probably be better. Would you like to see?”
“No,” Charles says slowly. “No, I trust you. How have you been?”
Max frowns, turning back to his phone. Charles is smiling at him softly, sappy-sweet around the edges. “What? Since we talked yesterday?”
“I haven’t seen you in a while. You look tan. Have you been in the sun? Your hair’s getting so light.”
Max shifts on his feet, ruffling a hand through his hair, and Charles lets out a little sound.
“Your arms.”
“I’ve been going to the gym,” Max says, his ears heating. “They have a patio. It’s good to get out—make some friends outside of music. It’s healthy, anyway.”
“Mh, healthy,” Charles murmurs, flopping down into the duvet on his stomach.
“Yeah, I’ve been boxing. Always wanted to try it.” He scrubs a hand over the back of his neck, then catches himself when he sees the way Charles presses his lips together and leans closer to the phone. He lets his hand fall. “So, living room?”
“No, no,” Charles says quickly. “I trust you. I don’t need to see it. Wherever you think is best will be fine.”
Max raises an unimpressed eyebrow. “Absolutely not. There’s no way you don’t care where it goes.”
“You’re smart, and you know the space better than I do. You know me.”
“So if I put it in the bedroom?”
“Mh, yes, bedroom,” Charles hums. “Let’s see the bedroom.”
“Charles, Xavi is going to want an answer,” Max chides.
Charles hums. “Xavi can wait. Can you flex again?”
“I wasn’t flexing before.”
“You weren’t?” He rolls onto his back, his hair ruffled against the white cloud of his duvet. “I don’t believe you. Prove it. Show me.”
“I’m hanging up on you.”
“Yes! Good idea. Call me back on your laptop. No, wait, I’ll call you, I need to grab mine from my bag.”
“Charles—”
“I love you!”
The screen goes dark.
Max stares at it for a minute, then catches sight of his reflection in the glass: the last rays of sun catching in the gold of his hair, his cheeks flushed a pleased pink. His shoulders have gotten bigger. Charles isn’t wrong; he’s noticed that himself.
Still, something in his chest shifts when he thinks about the way Charles had said it—something fresh and shy, sending his heart racing and his cheeks darkening even more.
It’s so stupid. So, so stupid.
He groans as if that will somehow counteract the smile fighting its way onto his face. Turning on his heel, he stomps off toward the bedroom, stripping his shirt off as he goes.

What if Red Hood had taken the cowl instead of Nightwing?
Crazy, I know. Unspeakable. Completely out of character. But I’m just a girl (I was rewatching Bing Bang Theory and Stuart and Sheldon were arguing about who should be taking the cowl when Bruce was presumed dead in the Black Mirror run iirc… correct me if I’m wrong)
I was just thinking what could lead up to that. I haven’t read that run but I roughly know the events, which is also how people got the dad Dick and son Damien dynamic; now imagine that but JASON!
Would he have done it as a way to prove to himself he could have been a better Batman than Bruce was? Would he start killing people like the Joker first for revenge and then finally realize Bruce’s point of view with the no kill rule? Would he have stepped up to protect Damien, because he lost his dad and Jason knows what it’s like to have your father “leave” you, even if the situation is different? Would Dick even let him take the cowl?
(I know he was Batman in some other universes and even the Crisis series but… THINK ABOUT IT)
Becoming Batman would also mean he might’ve become the new center of Batfam which might make for interesting dynamics. Like I said, I haven’t read these runs, so I don’t know if this has happened already.
Just seemed interesting. Also, for those wondering, Stuart backed up Jason and Sheldon backed up Dick. As the number one Nightwing fan, I’m also with Dick as the one taking the cowl, not that I think he should be taking it permanently. The next Batman is a whole other discussion (CASS. BUT IF U WANT A GUY THEN TIM. I can elaborate if you ask)
elaboration under cut :3
okay hello
The next Batman in my most honest opinion should be either Cassandra Cain or Tim Drake. I’ve always thought of cass and Bruce to be very similar, in the sense that they think and act in similar ways, aside from cass crashing out a lil every so often. She’s the perfect candidate and embodiment of justice, like Bruce, but in her own cass way. I still love her as batgirl though
As for Tim…… we all know he’s been fucking 17 for like a bazillion years at this point and he is STILL Red Robin. Guys…. Please…..
Tim wasn’t offered the mantle but he TOOK it after Jason’s death. He’s an amazing detective, ambitious, zealous, and confident enough to be bossing around THE dark knight when he’s 14. Nice vro
All I’m saying is they need to do something with this guy. NOT to say I think he should become Batman BECAUSE they haven’t done anything, he just has good traits and would make for good potential storylines and dynamics within batfam. Hell, I’d even like if they introduced a completely new character as the next robin if this happened.
Also, I’ve seen some people mention that they’re tired of Batman plots where he’s chasing down new villains and doing multiverse shit, and instead would rather see plot lines where we see more of his detective side and the actual problem solving that goes into finding these guys. That would definitely fit for Tim, I think.
Anyway, if this is bad reasoning then so be it. But I honestly don’t see any other person in batfam taking up the mantle if Bruce ACTUALLY dies or retires. Plus, it would be a crazy plot twist if the reason they’ve pushed Tim aside is to wait for Damien to become a doctor, then have something happen to Bruce, and make Tim Batman. I would cheer and gloat forever

I'm already obsessed with the gilded cage au and if I may be a big anime nerd about it:
Grian in the gilded cage au kinda reminds me of marcille from Delicious in Dungeon, which kinda makes me see Ari as a standard anime waifu type charater.
Ari feels so much like an undeveloped anime 'best girl'. She follows a certain formula of likability while having no real personality. She's pretty and has no outspoken, possibly dislikable features aka character flaws. The kind of extra that writers throw in so there would be a girl to be the love interest or something.
Meanwhile Grian seems like the type to complain, interact with people, take up space and exist as her own person. Less like a formula and more like a living creature with her own thoughts and opinions. and I can't wait to see her authentic and more brutisch side.
Also different fun hairstyles are a big plus. Maybe she suddenly has straight bangs one day and the next here are gone. How? Nobody knows.
Gods I'm excited for this au
Aaa this makes me so happy, I’m so glad you like it so far <33
I haven’t seen Delicious in Dungeon, so I don’t know what Marcille is like, but you got the characterization I’m going for of Ari and Grian pretty spot on :D
Ari’s the perfect showgirl for her industry. Very palatable, doesn’t show any real personality, she’s overall “designed” to be widely marketable. She’s a pretty body and nice voice to parade around, singing generic blanket pop songs. The audience can either project anything onto her, lust after her or envy her
I specifically have Ariana Grande’s and Sabrina Carpenter’s songs in mind and the way they are shown. Or well Ariana Grande from a couple of years ago, but you get the vibe I’m going for
But Grian isn’t the perfect porcelain doll. She’s a real person with flaws, opinions and a personality. She dresses and acts for herself instead of an audience and the high standard her label has set for her
I really like the contrast between the two “personalities”, with Ari being this blank slate of the perfect hyperfeminine girl with no real substance behind her vs Grian having this very dominant, big personality. Ari is for everyone, Grian is unashamedly for herself and the few who can handle her
I also really like the idea that with close friends and family, they’d call her Grian, Gri, G or anything in that vein more often than Ari or Ariana. That’s who she really is after all under all the glam and makeup and spotlights

Dick’s role in A Lonely Place of Dying is so massively important and good, which is why it’s so sad when it gets overlooked or erased.
In the 1990 collected edition, Dennis O’Neil (Batman editor of the time) talked about why he wanted Dick to be a central part of the third Robin’s origin. Dick needed to be there to show several key points:
Tim and Dick are deeply connected to each other (their childhood meeting at the circus, which links old Robin to new)
Dick approves of and endorses Tim as Robin (he directly tells Bruce that Tim should be Robin)
Dick cannot return to being Robin, no matter how much he tries, because he has his own new role now (this is shown through the failed Batman/Nightwing teamup against Two Face)
O’Neil’s goal was to preemptively combat any potential concerns or complaints readers might have about a third Robin. He had overseen the updates to Jason’s origins and had observed the mistakes they made and which complaints they received. In particular, the new origin for Jason 2.0 gave Dick little control over leaving the Robin mantle or passing it down. This bolstered fan complaints that Jason was usurping Dick, a feeling that O’Neil did not want to continue with the third Robin.
These considerations were the foundation of how Marv Wolfman constructed Tim’s origin and character: someone with an almost fated connection to Dick, who idealized Dick and was passionate about what the dynamic duo meant as symbols, and who explicitly had Dick’s blessing to be Robin.
So, when people remove Dick from Tim’s origin, they are removing a core part of Tim’s character and how he got the mantle.
#* I think the way O’Neil talks about Jason is agonizing and slightly infuriating…but he was so right to make Dick central to Tim’s characte#I might need to scan my 1990 copy’s intro because I haven’t seen it online anywhere but it’s so interesting#tim drake#dick grayson#batfam#bonds: I knew it was you#batman: a lonely place of dying#heroesriseandfall#lpod#I’m biased of course as a forever Dick & Tim brother-soulmates truther#dennis o'neil

I have no beef with people who don’t ship Zoro and Sanji I LOVE their platonic relationship in canon and I completely understand when people say they see them as having a sibling-esc “I can fuck with you but no one else can” relationship, but I HATE when someone talks about shipping them and someone else comes in like “um no they hate each other” or “it’s the same boring dynamic we always see where they hate each other and people ship them” NO THEY DON’T!!!! THEY VERY MUCH DONT ACTUALLY HATE EACH OTHER!!!!!! They get on each others nerves and they enjoy fighting each other but they are genuinely friends and explicitly care about each other.
I don’t care if you don’t see it as romantic but don’t come in here saying their dynamic is boring because you don’t care enough to dig deeper into it.
#idk why people can’t just ADMIT that it’s personal preference#you don’t have to prove that a ship is objectively inferior in order to dislike it you can just dislike it#it’s like me saying law and Luffy had a boring dynamic bc we’ve all seen the ‘goofy guy and gloomy guy he annoys’ duo#bc I’m not personally that interested in their dynamic and therefore haven’t spent any time analyzing it#UGGGH it just annoys me when people say they have a boring dynamic and then give the most surface level interpretation of their relationship#zosan#rambles#sorry had to rant saw a video that pissed me off#like even before I started shipping them (like 4/5ths of my time as a one piece fan I didn’t ship anyone) I still found their dynamic#interesting and fun

More on Fallout tv thoughts, my husband and I had a discussion while we were watching the show about the new lore they implemented with ghouls & the implications therein. Talking about ableism, negligent writing choices etc
Imo, switching the process of ghoulification from a possibility to an inevitability and making it so ghouls have no choice but to have a chemical dependency or else they’ll turn feral feels like a very poor allegory for addiction. Remain reliant on x substance or become a subhuman monster is what the new ghoul lore boiled down to. It’s not a pretty look. I’m honestly very surprised I haven’t seen more people talking about it— it felt like such a glaring issue to me.
My understanding of ghoulification, as somebody who’s played every game from 1 through 76, was that it’s effectively determined by genetics. Contingent on whether a person does or does not possess a certain gene, when someone contracts radiation poisoning and does not treat it soon enough, they either die or their body rapidly mutates to metabolize radiation— they ghoulify. It’s not something a person can opt into, it’s not something you can reliably force upon a person. Any ghoul hypothetically could go feral but it’s never a guarantee, more importantly it wasn’t some inevitability any given ghoul could only hope to stave off.
In a lot of ways I’ve always understood ghouls to be allegorical for disabled folks, thus the whole “all ghouls will inevitably become monsters if they’re not taking x substance” thing looks even worse. It’s just frustrating. It feels like the Fallout tv show threw an ableism brick through a window and everybody up and went “Hey, that brick is a pretty cool piece of home decor!”
The writers drawing a direct connection between the often shunned fictional race and addiction looks to me like lazy writing and negligence.
If any of my ghoul lore here is missing bits and pieces bear in mind I know ghouls have a lot of compiled lore throughout the games and I am paraphrasing in some places.
#putting these under read more breaks if you’re not interested in me being critical of the show#that’s it that’s all the big thoughts I wanted to get out there#I know I’m being a little heavy handed here but like. idk. I felt like it was a pretty big issue#it makes me feel crazy I haven’t seen anyone else talk about it#fallout tv spoilers
