I have absolutely nothing against Zutara. NOTHING. However, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. Homophobia is UNACCEPTABLE, no matter the ship, no matter the fandom.

For context: I am a Zukka shipper. This was the most recent comment on one of my ZUKKA POSTS. There was no mention of Zutara at all. There was absolutely no reason for this person to comment this on my post, yet they did it anyways.

Zukka is not canon and is very unlikely to ever be canon (even less than Zutara). It's a harmless FANON ship.

Toxic Zutara shippers like this guy give the good Zutaras out there a bad name. Please think before commenting things like that. It's very harmful to many people IRL.

To the good Zutaras out there, you guys are cool and it's a shame that homophobes/bigots are giving you a bad name.

PS: I'm not gonna bother censoring the person's name. Homophobes and bigots deserve to be called out.

I am very disappointed that they basically axed Sanji out of his own arc in the live-action. No real moment of his own. No real dilemma about leaving the Baratie. No real fight on his own. He's more or less.... just there. :(

(I still enjoyed the live-action and all that, but still... such a wasted potential, especially since the actor was good.)

Literally tho like!!!!! she's such a compelling character on so many levels, yet a lot of the fandom reduces her to the "mom friend" or other similarly reductive if not misogynistic stereotypical roles so for me (someone not super involved in the fandom these days) it's so refreshing to see you and others discussing her on her own merits and not just an accessory/afterthought for someone's white slash ship lol

sigh, i still cannot fathom how anyone (yes, even Oda himself) could possibly think One Piece would work as a live action series without it coming off as anything BUT cringey...

especially when a majority of the characters are so silly and exaggerated in terms of features and/or mannerisms, that i cannot imagine anyone IRL being able to pull off or truly capture the essence of these characters in a live action series. and by taking away some of these exaggerated features/mannerisms of the characters to perhaps make them slightly more believable or grounded in reality, you’re basically erasing an important part of their identity that is specifically unique to them in the original series. just based on the trailer alone, the fact that they deliberately chose to get rid of certain aspects of these characters should already be a huge warning sign that One Piece being adapted into a live action series was never a good idea... 

y’know maybe sometimes, certain manga/anime are meant to stay and be consumed within that form of media, and that should be more than enough. even MORE so with a series like One Piece, which has over a thousand chapters & episodes, and STILL counting!!

anyway, that’s just my two cents’ worth on the live action adaptation. if you belong to the part of the fandom who is excited and looking forward to the live action series, great for you! and if you’re on the other side of the fandom who feel the exact opposite, that’s completely valid too. after all, how many anime live action adaptations can you name that were actually successful and well-received by the fans and general public, hmm?

I filtered heartstopper on my dash right before these new eps dropped, so I had no clue what the s2 plot points were (after getting inundated for season one).

So I got to react along to Trixie and Katya for what I guess are the highlights.
