I took the stars from our eyes, and then I made a map
pairing: carol danvers x natasha romanoff x reader x valkyrie
word count: 4,700+
warnings: all smut. language, i’m sure. choking. blind folds. mentions of daddy kink. nat gets tied up. inapprpopriate use of kitchen utensils.
a/n: y’all better love me. i accidentally stayed awake over 24 hours to write this. i literally got in bed, like okay, go to bed, you can start writing a little and then it just went off on its own. also, i’m sorry that i used pictures as page breaks like we’re in 2009 again. i could learn to format on this hellsite, but...i could also just not. any spelling and grammar errors come from the fact that i wrote this while i should have been unconcious.
edit: so yes, i accdentally deleted this and had to rewrite it until i found the saved copy on my editor program. so there are a few new things, in case you already read this.
One of your favorite things to do was braid the hair of the most lethal, badass people on this world. It started with Bucky, it was something he found comfort in, but he was often on missions so your fingers had to seek out more. Steve, before, the day you called the bane of your existence, he cut his gorgeous hair off—captain America with braids? Beautiful. Thor loved it the most, but just like his teammate, the first blond saboteur, he’d keep his hair short these days. Nat tolerated it, but always had to take it out to train so rarely let you do it. Carol cut her hair sometimes without much of a warning.
Your only constant was Valkyrie.  She had realized in the hotter weather it would be easy to cut it all off, but one puppy-eyed look from you, and she'd scrapped the idea completely. Claimed she was far too busy to get her hair cut but she knew your fast-moving fingers loved to run through her hair, weaving as intricately as you possibly could.
That morning, you were seated on Valkyrie’s large silk-covered mattress, next to her sleeping form, propped up on the headboard, fingers working through her long strands. This was despite the warning Carol gave you about letting her rest, it was a complex and busy time in New Asgard and being Queen was taking its toll. You knew your ass would be bruised for weeks if she caught you, but what would be so bad about that anyway?
The sheets were only covering half her body, her breasts and one side of her hip exposed. Glancing over her bare skin, you recalled the way her fingers had been buried inside your cunt mere hours earlier. Nat and Carol had already retired for the night, but you never wanted to sleep without all three of them, it was you who always waited for every single one of them.
Valkyrie saw you leaning against the wall, trying to patiently wait for her. She was stressed, you could tell, not that she liked to bother you with the details of why. And you didn’t get to ask because in seconds her mouth was moving over yours, rough and fast.
She undressed you as she silently worked you into the room. Carol and Nat were draped over one another, dead asleep. Valkyrie lifted your legs, wrapping them around her hips. Fingertips dug into your thighs as she swallowed your moans, her hips rolled against yours, a maddening sensation as you’d dressed down to nothing more than an oversized t-shirt.
She ordered you to remain silent as she dipped her fingers inside you, always with the threat of stopping if you woke the others. Then she let you get on your knees and eat her out until she felt just a little less burdened.
When Valkyrie’s eyes fluttered open, head turning up to you, you had just finished tying the section of hair you were working on. “Good morning.”
“Good morning,” she returned, grinning.
You leaned over, pressing your lips to hers. It was a fast, rough kiss, one you pulled away from when you felt her tongue. She stared at you, stunned for a moment, and all you did was climb out of bed and saunter away. Innocent, right? You were simply trying to let her finish getting her rest. Well, perhaps that would have been easier to sell if you hadn’t been naked.
Tumblr media
You put on a pair of tiny shorts, but that was it. Carol loved your breasts and you loved seeing her teeth marks scattered across your skin days later, so you enabled the obsession.  You were busy in the kitchen, cooking her breakfast. In case she found out about your visit to Valkyrie, you wanted her in a good mood.
You knew you had accomplished that when she pressed herself to your back, reaching around to knead your breasts. You melted into her, head falling on her shoulder as you ground your ass back against her. “Oh, fuck.”
Her hands roamed, down your stomach, over your clothed pussy, back up to your breasts where she pinched your nipples hard. “What are you doing, baby girl?”
“Making breakfast for my captain.” The stinging sensation on your breasts almost made you drop to your knees right there.
She hummed. “Thanks, baby, I appreciate that.”
You kissed her jaw, smiling. “Sit down, it’s almost done.”
Leaning over she bit down on your peaked bud. She let her hands fall to catch your squirming hips. Her mouth pulled roughly as she leaned back up, smirking at your gasp. Slowly, she leaned over to the opposite side and claimed your left nipple between her sharp teeth. She straightened up, pulling your hair behind your ear. “Is your pussy wet?”
“Really wet.”
“Yeah?” she cooed.
You nodded.
“Save it for me, okay? I’m sure I’ll still be hungry after this.” She squeezed your ass painfully before she pulled away and sat down at the table.
You finished filling her plate with pancakes and hash browns, grabbed a set of silverware, and set it all down in front of her. You prepared her coffee and set it on her right. Carol was probably the most domestic, so it always gave you a little rush to cook for her.
“Thank you, baby. Almost looks as delicious as you.”
Before she could reach for anything, you grabbed the spoon and straddled her lap.
She smirked, lifting her eyebrows at you.
Never taking your eyes off hers, you set the spoon to your stomach and pressed it down until it disappeared under your shorts.
She looked down, a shaky breath passing her parted lips.
You set the curve of the silverware against your aching center and gasped. The sudden cold was shocking initially, but the way Carol was completely enraptured by you made it seem so trivial.
She watched you move for a moment before she took hold of your hip and began to guide you. She loved the sound as it was clear, you weren’t just wet, you were absolutely soaking. How could you not be? You’d been thinking about her touching you all morning.
She kept you slow and steady until you were coming, legs shaking, broken moans spilling from your throat. You simply removed the spoon from your shorts and dropped it in her coffee.
She arched an eyebrow at you.
You chastely kissed her before hopping off her lap and walking out on still unstable legs. Two down, one more to go.
Tumblr media
Thanks to Carol, you didn’t have time before Natasha got out of training to put on this beautiful burgundy lingerie you’d just purchased solely for the Widow. Oh, well, nude would have to do.
You tossed aside your shorts as you laid down on the bathroom counter. It was just about time for her to get out of training, maybe 20 minutes, but you couldn’t wait that long. Surely, she wouldn’t be too mad at you.
With your fingers at your pussy, you started recording a video for her on your phone. No way she was going to be able to finish her workout when she saw you, and she always kept her phone with her, volume on, in case of emergencies. This counted as an emergency.
You sent the video with a two worded text. Done yet? You didn’t expect a response to come from her phone so you set yours aside and let your fingers lazily move through your folds.
You spent many mornings with Natasha. Sometimes you were both caught up in whatever Valkyrie or Carol wanted but other times, when they felt they were too aggressive to touch either of you—a bad mission or a really good mission, something that had their adrenaline running even after a night’s rest—they would fuck each other. That left you and Natasha curled up with one another, her bed, your bed, the shower, the couch, Thor’s bed once upon a time when you were both under the impression that he was not due back that day. Though, word had spread to Sif and the outcome was definitely positive. You loved watching her kiss Natasha, and easily became addicted to how her fingers felt inside you.
The door burst open and you glanced up. She was there, beautiful red hair just let out of her ponytail, chest heaving—she must have sprinted to you.
You whimpered her name and that was really all it took.
She gently shut the door behind her but then rushed to you, indelicately pulling your legs until you were at the edge of the counter, propped up on the mirror. All too easily, two of her fingers slipped inside you.
Your hands frantically grabbed at her shoulders. “Shit.”
Her other hand burrowed in your hair and she yanked your head back, lips hovering over yours as she spoke. “You interrupted my work out why, exactly?”
“I missed you,” you claimed, voice barely above a whisper.
She smirked. “I fucked you last night when you were waiting for Valkyrie.”
“I wanted more.”
“Yeah? You still want more?”
“Mhm.” You nodded desperately.
Never ceasing her relentless thrusting, she skillfully added a third finger. She smothered your scream with a fast, dizzying kiss.
You were nearly sobbing as she brought you to your finish then delicately let you ride out the high on your own. Her hand was almost still as your hips jerked, minus her palm which she pressed against your clit whenever it was close enough.
She drew her hand away from you and licked her fingers clean.
You smiled, gathering a long lock of hair as you sat back. “You’re way nicer to me than Carol and Valkyrie.”
She scoffed, eyeing you warily as you coiled her hair around your fingers. “That’s because you’re bad.”
You snorted. “Okay, Hermione. Besides...you don’t want me to be good.”
“No,” she admitted. “I guess I don’t.”
“Neither do they, they just pretend.”
“You know if we get caught in here, without either of their permission, you’re in for it.”
You leaned forward to kiss her briefly, smiling as you pulled away. “You’re worth it, baby.”
Shaking her head, she scoffed at you. “Wanna take a shower with me?”
“More than anything.” You wrapped your arms and legs around her.
Tumblr media
So, that was where Valkyrie found you both. After you’d both washed each other’s hair and bodies, after your fingers pushed her to orgasm three times, after she held you up as you rode her thigh, after she laid you down on the flat surface of the tub and rubbed her pussy against yours until you were both shaking and seeing stars.
Not that you’d ever point it out, but it was definitely Nat’s fault. She was on her back, your mouth between her legs, and it wasn’t that she was purposefully being loud, but you’d been eating her out long enough to know what she liked.
You both froze, wide-eyed like children who had just been caught doing something they were told a million times not to do. You’d certainly been told, not a million times, but enough times that Valkyrie was fuming.
“What are you two doing?” she demanded.
“Carol said we could,” you claimed. An effortless, believable lie.
See, Valkyrie wouldn’t have liked it but at least it would have been Battle of the Space Lesbian Doms—the fourth, if your memory served you correctly. A preferable show as opposed to their tiring punishments directed at you and Natasha.
It would have worked too, if the world’s best spy hadn’t burst out laughing.
Valkyrie lifted her eyebrows at you.
“Whatever,” you sighed, defeated. Instead of acknowledging the impending dramatics, you went back to work on Natasha. Her remaining laughter caught in her throat, coming out as a strangled cry.
“Excuse me?” Valkyrie snapped. “Did I tell you that you could do that?”
You glanced up at her first, then Nat. She had her bottom lip pulled in with her teeth, her hands clawing at the shower wall behind her.
“Natasha, you better not finish,” Valkyrie warned.
But as mentioned, your mouth knew its way around Natasha’s pussy. You could have been nice and let her off the hook, but Nat had a point, you just weren’t good.  You pressed her thighs down as her back arched off the bathtub floor.
“Shit!” she blurted out, hands settling on the back of your head, a silent plea. Yes, you had both been caught and were in trouble, but she needed this and you would always give Natasha what she needed.
When she finished, you did your best to gather every drop of her in your mouth. You jumped back up to your feet, grabbing Valkyrie’s jaw.
Instinctively, her mouth opened. That was how you kissed, parted lips, sometimes genuinely filthy, tongues and teeth, moans and from you, the most desperate pleas.
As soon as you opened your mouth to let her taste Natasha, she jerked back in utter surprise. A drop dripped down her chin slowly and you took her state of shock to your advantage, licking it from her skin without her approval to do so.
For the first time, she had no idea what to do with you, where to start, what to even say.
If Natasha had been in her right mind, she wouldn’t have giggled. But she was feeling light, her lingering orgasm making her brain just a little fuzzy.
You smiled at Valkyrie, taking her hand and guiding it to your center. “Doesn’t she taste so good?”
It took her only a moment to snap out of it. She whipped her hand away from you, tangling her fingers in your hair and pulling you out of the tub, sure to catch you when you didn’t lift your legs high enough to make it over safely.
Your clumsiness was another source of amusement to Natasha, who was sincerely trying to stifle all her noise with her hand over her mouth.
Valkyrie sighed deeply. “Get in the bedroom. Both of you. Now.”
A walk she made you complete naked. Not that either you or Natasha cared, but Valkyrie liked to threaten with fake humiliation. No one was ever around her bedroom and most Asgardians liked to be outside until the sun was down. Though, you suspected the day would come when a poor bystander was caught up in these games and hopefully it wouldn’t be Thor—probably still scarred and confused as to why you were calling Natasha daddy.
“On the bed,” she directed.
You both obliged, and you took Natasha’s hand as she settled next to you. Bringing it up to your lips, you kissed each of her knuckles, smirking at her.
She bit her lip in an attempt to hide her smile.
“Separate,” Valkyrie growled. “What the fuck is wrong with you both? Does no one listen anymore?”
That was an order you didn’t move to follow. Natasha did, quickly and with an apologetic look on her face. Though you and Natasha both easily bent to the will of Carol and Valkyrie, there was a distinct difference in the way you did so. You liked being in trouble because you liked to be punished. But Nat did not like it one bit, she was a fidgeting, apologizing mess until they told her she was forgiven—a praise kink, you suspected, something you would certainly be trying out soon.
Valkyrie moved around the room silently and slowly, more than likely waiting for Carol. When the blonde entered, she made a low, strangled noise at the sight of you naked and spread out on the mattress.
“Don’t touch her, she’s being a problem today.”
Carol tsked, moving to Nat. Hands pressed up high on her parted thighs, she let her eyes wander. “What about this one?”
“You know her,” Valkyrie assured. “She’s a good girl, always is.”
She instantly leaned down, sucking noisily at Natasha’s cunt.
You whimpered, Carol angled her head up to meet your eye and winked. Ugh, you’ve wanted her mouth since you were teasing her in the kitchen.
Valkyrie came up behind Carol. “Undress and get on the bed.”
She pulled away from a moaning Natasha and lifted her arms.
Valkyrie pulled the shirt over Carol’s head, shoved her shorts down, and then let her hands wander all over her gorgeous body. She stepped to the side, giving you an unobstructed view as her fingers entered Carol.
She grabbed Valkyrie’s forearm, using it to keep herself balanced. “Fuck, that feels so good.” She grasped Valkyrie’s top and tore it out of her way. Her mouth instantly closed around a nipple.
You clenched your thighs, recalling how it felt when she did the same to you. You still had no regrets, you’d gone a week once without an orgasm and you would certainly do it again—besides, when you finally gave in, Valkyrie was always so pent up from not fucking you the way she wanted to for however long that she was always very generous when you decided to behave.
Valkyrie grabbed Carol by the neck and pulled her up for a rough kiss.
Natasha glanced up, noticing your pout and reached out to you. Unable to stop yourself, you smiled as you gave your hand and she twisted her neck to kiss your knuckles just as you had with hers.
The world needed to know; Natasha was so fucking sappy. But also, she was a “good girl”, so she quickly let you go and returned to her position of watching and waiting.
Carol pulled away, biting Valkyrie’s lip, happily prancing to the bed to settle between you and Natasha.
“Sit up,” she gestured to Carol. “Both of you, eat her out until she’s screaming.”
As if either of you needed to be told twice, you gratefully dropped to your knees before Carol, Natasha right next to you. Your tongues moved against one another, neither of you possessing any real control enough to come up with a system. You both just wanted Carol to come, that was the only result you hoped for.
She had one hand on either of you, purring and pressing you closer. You were so close to Natasha that sometimes you ended up licking one another, lips, chins, cheek, but nothing deterred either of you.
It didn’t take long at all, eventually, Carol was lying flat on the silk sheets, body shaking but she still never let go of either of you.
Valkyrie grabbed the three blindfolds from atop her dresser, starting with Nat and ending with you. Her fingers pressed to your core and you shuddered. “Hmm…so wet.”
You weren’t sure where she was when she pulled away or what she was going to do. You heard kissing, a few soft sighs.
“You do taste so good,” she said—clearly to Natasha. “Do you want to me lick your pussy?”
“Yes, please,” she whispered.
It felt like an eternity went by before Natasha cried out. You realized then you had a long day ahead of you. Or so you thought until you felt a hand on your thigh, but Natasha was still whimpering. Valkyrie couldn’t be done with her.
“Be quiet, understand?” Carol whispered.
You nodded, keeping the movement as small as you could.
Next thing you knew, her hand was wrapped tight around your throat so you couldn’t make a sound and her fingers were circling your clit. Desperate for something to hold onto, you grabbed her forearm, trying to keep your body still. If your hips moved this would be over before you could finish.
It might have been the lack of oxygen or her overly skilled fingers, but your orgasm came at an embarrassingly quick rate. But with Carol, she was so fucking cocky, it would just stoke her ego anyway.
She slowly began releasing your neck, a silent reminder to stay quiet—Nat was now thrashing on the bed, whining for Valkyrie not to stop so you had some slack to try to catch your breath.
Carol kissed the side of your face and you could feel her smiling. Good thing you were wearing your blindfold because you had to roll your eyes. “You good?”
You kissed her back instead of speaking, not trusting your volume to remain controlled.
“Carol,” Valkyrie huffed just seconds later. “You’re such an ass.”
“I didn’t do anyth—ooh, holy shit!”
You let out the most dramatic, frustrated sigh. What Carol gave you was not enough; it was too fast and gone much the same. “Why do you hate me?”
Carol burst into a breathless giggle. “You’re such a cry baby.”
“Don’t laugh and me, I’m delicate.”
Even Valkyrie had to scoff then. She reached over to you, reveling in the shiver that ran through your body. “Shut up, I know she let you come.”
You grabbed her hand before she could pull away, parting your thighs wider. “I want you to make me come, though.”
“She’s very good, isn’t she?” Carol asked.
“Not as good as she thinks,” Valkyrie responded, but didn’t move her touch away. Instead, she began to curl her fingers into you, slowly but pressing on the right spot.
No surprise, she didn’t let you finish. Each time she went back to Nat, Carol would touch you when she could. That made you realize Carol was totally cheating the blindfold. It was long ago decided that on New Asgard, Valkyrie was dom #1, the rest of Midgard belonged to Carol. They didn’t stop there; they divided every planet that they knew of and you weren’t sure why because you and Nat had only ever been on one. Regardless, Carol sucked at being dom #2, but since her fingers were inside you, you would keep your mouth shut.
You weren’t sure how much time passed before Valkyrie instructed Carol to “take care of” Nat. For the first time since you were on the bed, her lips were on yours. You eagerly tangled your hands in her hair, wrapping your legs around her in a weak attempt to keep her from going anywhere.
She brought her thigh up to your pussy and didn’t stop you from grinding against her skin. Not for a while at least, but when she knew you were close, she held you down by the hips for a moment. “Stand up.”
You let your legs fall from her hips and she pulled you up. You heard her moving but made no attempts to find out just what she was doing.
“Over my knee,” she informed before she settled you down herself.
“Are you ser—” A sharp smack to your ass stopped that sentence, replacing the remainder with a surprised yelp. You felt your face heat up but that was nothing in comparison to the lingering sting on the skin she struck.
“Very serious,” she confirmed.
This was the first time this was ever happening. At least at her hand, this was Carol’s go-to. Admittedly, you were getting worse with time. Though, you doubted this would stop that. Did anyone truly believe you didn’t enjoy this?
“We’ll do eleven for all of your...behavioral issues today. Talk back to me again and it’ll be 20.”
Okay, you liked pressing buttons, but this was a little much. For maybe the first time ever, you were willingly silent.
“Understood?”
“Yes,” you muttered.
“You’ll count and thank me for every single one.”
Sighing, you stated, “one. Thank you.”
“You can be good,” she mused, almost sounding surprised.
This repeated without a hitch until 10. Sure, your voice was getting breathier, your knees were buckling, and your ass ached. Yet, you still gave into Valkyrie, until you realized eleven. Why?! Eleven wasn’t an even number. Did she just not care for symmetry? “Can I ask a question?”
“If you must,” she sighed, spreading your legs further, hand soothing the irritated skin.
“Why eleven? It doesn’t make any—”
The swift smack to your cunt caused your brain to short circuit. You felt it for nothing more than a split second, this intense sensation, then nothing. What day was it? What year? Where were you? Was any of this even real?
Next thing you knew, you were on the floor, Valkyrie’s arms wrapped around you as she purred how well you did. She removed your blindfold, Carol and Natasha were making out on the bed, eyes still covered.
Valkyrie scoffed, pulling you onto her lap. “Pretty sure you just had an orgasm. You good?”
“I don’t know what I am,” you admitted. Honestly, what direction was up?
She caught your chin, turning your head for a kiss. As she pulled away, she looked over your face briefly. “You’re good, beautiful, aren’t you?”
You nodded, a bit mindlessly. You were whatever she wanted you to be in that moment, except a functioning person because you weren’t sure you could stand.
“But you’re not good, so you get to stay right here for a moment.”
You watched her move to her dresser once more, this time returning with ties.
“Remove your blindfolds.”
Carol was quick to toss hers aside, then gently pushed Natasha’s out of the way, dipping down once more to kiss her again.
“Tie her to the bed,” Valkyrie instructed.
Carol eagerly complied, as did Nat. She quickly crawled up the bed and threw herself down so Carol could tie arms and legs to each bedpost.
You pouted, looking up at a smirking Valkyrie.
She pointed to you. “That’s what good girls get, brats like you stay on the floor.”
“I like the floor,” you declared.
She made a face at you.
“Now what?” Carol wondered.
She leaned down, gently nudging your shoulder. “Go eat her out.”
You crawled your way to the bed and Carol scooped you up like you weighed absolutely nothing, depositing you on the bed before Natasha.
Watching Carol, you licked slowly up Natasha’s dripping pussy.
She shivered, biting her lip. Impatiently, she took your hand and buried your fingers inside her, eyes rolling back as she collapsed onto the bed. “Hard, fuck me hard now.”
You latched your lips around Natasha’s clit as you thrust your fingers in and out of Carol.
Valkyrie walked to Natasha’s side, fingertips tracing her lips. “Who do you want to taste, baby?”
“Um…” she stopped to think for a moment. “Carol.”
“Come on, Carol—”
You both made sounds of protest but Valkyrie rushed over and pulled your hand away from Carol. Desperately, the blonde crawled her way up to Natasha until she was sitting on her face. She began rolling her hips relentlessly, cursing and gasping.
Valkyrie got on her knees next to you, two fingers slipping into Natasha, just under your chin, and two fingers pressing into you.
You began to ride her hand urgently, pressing your clit down hard on the heel of her palm. Moaning into Natasha’s pussy was an added sensation that she appreciated immensely as she was coming on your tongue mere moments later.
“Let me taste,” Valkyrie requested.
You leaned over to her, mouth attaching to hers instantly. You licked into her open mouth and she hummed, pushing another finger into you.
Carol took that as her cue to turn around and bend down so she could suck Nat’s clit. The redhead didn’t miss a beat, her own mouth still moving over Carol’s pussy like it was her last meal.
You turned your head slightly. “Fuck, I’m so close! Please, please let me come!”
“You can come, baby,” she encouraged, adding her fourth finger.
It only took a few more pushes from her fingers before you crashed shamelessly.
Valkyrie pulled Carol up by the hair, pressing her own tongue to Nat’s folds. Carol turned to you instantly, lips crashing against yours.
Several hours later, you were all spent on the bed. You were laid completely on top of Valkyrie, Carol’s head was using your ass as a pillow, and Nat was curled up to Valkyrie’s left side.
She was silently tracing patterns into your back as she waited for you to speak, a simple explanation for your behavior. You didn’t have one, you never had one. You didn’t today and you wouldn’t tomorrow.
You grabbed a lock of her hair and began braiding, smiling to yourself.
She scoffed tiredly. “You are such a brat.”
You turned your head a little, just to kiss her briefly but uncharacteristically rough, before settling back on her chest.

If there was one thing the Dormir cousins were famous for, it was parties. So, it was no surprise that Remy’s Halloween party was one of the biggest events of the year. It was also very exclusive, you had to know the right people to get in. Any regular student would have dropped everything for a chance to go. Anyone except for Logan Hamilton, who had barely spoken to Roman or Virgil in days.
It was Wednesday, October 30th and the lunch bell had just rung. “You can’t keep ignoring me forever, Logan,” Virgil said. Logan only walked away, giving him a silent message. “That’s a very rude hand gesture!” he yelled.
Virgil sighed, falling against the wall as Logan walked away. He felt a hand on his shoulder and didn’t even bother to look up. He already knew there was a fifty percent chance of it being Roman (and the other fifty percent chance of it being Remy). “He’ll be back eventually,” Roman said. “We just need to talk to him.”
“I’m trying but he’s impossible to talk to when he’s angry. We’ve really fucked up.”
“Maybe we can get Patton to talk to him.”
Virgil laughed. “You think he’d listen to Patton?”
“What’s wrong with Patton?”
“Nothing,” Virgil said. “To us.”
“To us?”
“You’re pretty oblivious, Princey.”
“Oblivious,” Roman repeated. “Are you saying Logan has a crush on me and therefore won’t talk to Patton?”
Virgil pulled himself from the wall and took Roman’s hand as they walked down the hall. “First of all, you wish Logan had a crush on you. I think you’re just looking for an excuse to change your name to Roman Hamilton.”
“Imagine marrying Logan Hamilton. I could never,” Roman teased.
“Shut up you’re getting off-topic.”
“Weirdly defensive about marrying Logan,” he teased, bumping into Virgil’s side with a laugh. He felt pain in his hand as Virgil’s fists grew tighter. “Ow. Ow. Ow. Okay, okay I take it back.”
“Even if I did have a crush on Logan, he’s straight,” Virgil said. “And you’re getting off-topic. He’s not listening to me, he’s obviously not going to listen to you, and Patton isn’t even in the same room as the table.”
“And, again, what’s wrong with Patton and why am I oblivious?”
“Logan doesn’t exactly, uh, like Patton. And if you haven’t been able to notice that, you certainly have your head in the clouds.”
“I’m king of the clouds.”
“You’re not even a prince, Duke.”
“Touché.”
“I’ll send him a text,” Virgil said. “I just... hope he’ll respond.”
“You guys have been best friends since- what? Seventh grade?” Roman squeezed Virgil’s hand and leaned into him. “He’ll come around.”
Virgil leaned into the touch, both their heads pressed together as they turned a corner towards the school cafeteria. “This is worse than any fight we’ve ever had. I don’t know what to do.”
Roman stopped dead in his tracks. He took Virgil by the shoulders and looked him dead in the eyes. (He still had to grow used to the fact that Virgil was now taller than him. The growth spurt he had hit during his sophomore year was still a surprise.) “Everything is going to be fine,” he said. “You know how I know it will be? Because if Hamilton thinks he can hurt my second best friend then I’m going to kick his ass with my new weird crazy powers.”
“And what powers are those?”
“I’ll figure it out, okay? Now, c’mon, either Logan is going to come back and we can sort out this spirit situation. Or- Or- we forget about Logan for one night and I show you and Patton how to have a good time.”
“But what about-“
“Shhh.” Roman placed a finger over Virgil’s lips. “It’s a Remy Dormir party. We’re going to get drunk off our asses and have a great time. Okay?”
“Okay.”
It was Thursday, October 31, nearly 7:00 O’clock at night. When Roman had arrived Remy was busy locking the last of the bedroom and office doors, any room that would give him a death sentence if it were trashed.
“I brought drinks,” he announced, holding two plastic bags in his hands. Patton and Emile exchanged a glance, staring at Roman with quirked eyebrows. “Relax.” He pulled a bottle out from the bag. “It’s Sprite.”
“Ro, I’m glad you’re here,” Remy said, sliding three stacks of paper plates across the counter. “I need you guys to open these.”
“Great to see you too, Rem.”
“The pleasure is all yours I’m sure. Hey, hand me that pumpkin, will ya? Thanks, babe.”
“I’m pretty sure you call me that more than your own boyfriend.”
“Everyone else is ‘Babe’,” Remy explained, “Emile is ‘baby.’”
Emile blushed, his face redder than his Steven Universe shirt. “Reeeeemmmyyyy.”
“Save that for the bedroom, baby,” Remy teased.
Roman shoved a finger in his mouth and gagged. “You two are disgusting.”
Remy raised an eyebrow and threw a tape dispenser at Roman’s head. “Oh, please, like you haven’t jerked it to m-“
“OKAY! SHUT THE FUCK UP!” he yelled, face bright red. He turned towards Patton and Emile. “Pro tip: Never fucking tell Remy about a crush.”
“I’d consider it a close matter,” he said, failing to hide a laugh. “Aww, c’mon it was years ago.”
“And yet, you’re still an asshole about it.”
“You act like you still have feelings.”
“You act like I won’t shake you off this damn ladder.”
“Ouch. Someone’s got a sore spot.”
“Ladder,” Roman warned. There was a knock on the door but it swung open before anyone could answer it.
“Sup, bitches! I brought beers!” Narcissa yelled. She wore all black with a leather jacket that could rival Remy’s own and a floppy witch hat that still had a price tag on the side. Her long black hair and choppy bangs framed her face nicely. She had a diamond stud in her nose and wore glittery purple eyeshadow.
“Eww.”
“Oh. Duke is here.”
“Ah. Draco can go fuck herself.”
The two stood silent, staring each other down for a total of five seconds before laughing and pulling each other into a hug. “Virgil pulled into the driveway a few seconds after me. He’ll be here in a few-“
“Sup, motherfuckers!”
“He’s here,” she deadpanned.
“Virgil! Virgil, look!” Roman said, smiling like a puppy. “It’s Narcissa.”
“Aww, it’s my chorus baby,” she cooed, ruffling Virgil’s hair. “We miss you.”
“Stop, stop, I spent an hour making this look perfect,” Virgil said. He was dressed head to toe in regal vampire gear with fake blood on his lips and chin.
“Lookin’ sharp, bloodsucker,” Roman complimented.
“Blood isn’t the only thing I suck,” he said with a wink. “Oh! Patton, you made it!”
“I did!” Patton said. “Any luck with, uh, you know who?”
Remy gasped as he jumped off the ladder. “Did someone take my title of You Know Who?!”
“That’s offensive to Lord Voldemort,” Narcissa said.
“Suck my dick, babe.”
“Only if you suck mine.”
“I haven’t had any luck,” Virgil said, taking a seat next to Patton. “I know he needs space, but I don’t know what to do. Our time is running out.”
“Emile,” Patton blurted out. “We could, uh, use Emile if Logan won’t agree.”
Virgil knitted his eyebrows together, glancing up and down at Patton as he wiggled in his seat. “You don’t sound too sure of yourself. Besides, replacing Logan would only make things worse.”
“You said yourself that we’re running out of time.”
“Patton, I-“
A voice escaped Patton’s throat, low and gravely, nothing like the young boy’s own. It said, “We only have tonight, Fear. What are you so afraid of?” Patton slapped a hand over his mouth.
“Your face is turning green.”
“Your arms are turning violet.”
“Princey,” Virgil called, “can we see you real quick?”
“Yeah, what’s- Oh fuck.”
“Oh fuck indeed,” Virgil growled. He grabbed Patton and Roman’s hands and pulled them into the bathroom.
It’s Thursday, October 31, nearly 7:45 at night when Logan finds himself pacing in his bedroom, his eyes going up and down trying to reread a text Virgil had sent hours ago. He couldn’t think of a response.
Logan, we need to talk.
I’m so sorry about what happened at Patton’s house and I’m worried that I'll never get to apologize enough. I know you and Roman don’t always get along, but he really does care about you. The two of us have been fighting trying to figure out what’s best for you but that’s a choice only you can make. We’ll be at Remy’s house tonight and I really hope I can see you there and properly make amends.
We found a way to summon the fourth spirit. His name is Knowledge and I can think of no one more deserving than you of that power. But above all, I want my best friend back. So, please, talk to me.
Logan practically had the message memorized by now. He paced back and forth watching time move forward as his battery drained. Should he stay angry at Virgil and Roman for trying to make this choice without him? Should he forgive them? Should he accept this power? “Feelings,” he mumbled, “the bane of my existence.
Then his phone rang. His texts disappeared as a picture of Roman in a prince costume from behind the scenes of his last play took their place. Why was Roman calling? His finger hovered over the answer button before he finally gave in and clicked it.
“You have three seconds to explai-“
“Logan! Logan, oh thank fairy godmother you answered! We need your help!”
“Is this some sort of trap?”
“No! No, seriously, Virgil and Patton are here with me! We- We don’t know what’s going on! Patton has like- like scales or something! And Virgil looks like he barely escaped the Wonka factory!”
“Roman, your eyes,” he could hear Patton saying. “They’re red.”
“Logan! Just, please, we’re at Remy’s house! Get here as fast as you ca-” The line went dead. The clocks around him slowed, time never fully halting. The room began to dim.
“Roman?” Logan asked, frantically trying to call him back. Every attempt failed. His heart was pounding in his chest. He was having a panic attack but he didn’t even have the time to pull himself out of it. He ran for his bedroom door, trying to pull it open but the handle wouldn’t budge.
“You are not needed there. Not yet,” a voice spoke.
Logan’s eyes welled with tears as he frantically pulled at the door handle. “LET ME OUT!” he screamed. “ROMAN NEEDS ME! LET ME OUT OF HERE!”
“No one can hear you now, Logan Zander Hamilton,” the voice said. “We have temporarily pulled apart from the known universe. There is no one outside that door. It’s only you and me. I suggest we have a little chat.”
Logan pressed his back against the door and fell to the ground, hugging his knees. “My- My friends,” he choked out. “They need me. They need me!”
“We need you, Logan Zander Hamilton,” he said, almost perfectly mimicking Virgil’s voice. Almost, yet too robotic. He wasn’t as caring and compassionate as Virgil always was. He appeared as a reflection in the mirror, a perfect doppelgänger to Logan but with something cold and robotic in his eyes. He looked like a man but he could not pass as human. “My friends and yours are now one.” He pressed his hand against the glass and walked through as easily as someone would walk through a wall of gelatin. And with that, the mirror seemed to bounce back as easily as gelatin without so much as a crack to prove that he had broken through. As he stepped closer, Logan could see how inhuman his eyes were. He was the cosmos hidden inside of a human shell. “Join me- Join us- and learn the secrets of your existence.”
“If- If I do this,” he asked, trying to wipe away the last of his tears, “will I be able to save my friends?”
“With the power of knowledge, you can save humankind.”
“They aren’t human, are they? Not anymore, at least. They’ve been... infected.”
“How observant of you.”
“I don’t need to save humankind,” he said, “I just need to save them.”
“Any panic or pain they are experiencing now is only at the cost of summoning me,” Knowledge said. “Whether aware or not, they have brought me to you. Neither I nor them will be at rest until I have a vessel.”
“For Virgil,” Logan said, “and for Roman. And Patton.” He stuck out his hand towards Knowledge. “I’ll do it.”
Knowledge took Logan’s hand. His human shell melted away and Logan found himself being blinded by the pure light in front of him. He expected to choke and cry in pain as Virgil and Roman had done. Instead, he found warmth traveling from his fingertips through his veins and arteries. He found warmth traveling through him in all directions. His head felt light and his chest felt full of the purest air.
Logan woke up from his bed. He slid on his glasses and looked at his reflection in his phone’s camera. His eyes held pools of stars. He was the cosmos inside of a human shell. He felt enlightened.
Logan put his phone in the pocket of his jeans, grabbed a jacket, and ran out of his house as fast as his legs would take him. When he got to Remy’s house his heart was pounding in the best possible way. He walked in, dodging students as he made his way towards the bathroom.
“LOGAN!” Virgil yelled, smiling brightly as the lights around them flickered with electricity.
“Maybe don’t destroy the lights here,” Logan teased. “You guys summoned a spirit. How the hell did you do that?”
“I, uh, think that was my fault,” Patton said meekly.
“It was Morality who started it,” Virgil corrected. “Not Patton.”
“Is there any difference?” Patton asked.
“Yes,” Logan said. “And no matter what, we must remember that there are differences between us and the spirits using us for personal gain.”
“Woah,” Roman whispered, leaning close to Logan. “Your eyes look wicked right now.”
“You accepted his powers,” Virgil said in disbelief. He smiled brightly, pulling Logan into a hug. “We’re superheroes!”
“We haven’t done anything heroic,” Logan said. “Being superhuman does not automatically make one a hero.”
“Be gay, fight crime,” Roman announced. Virgil shot him a look. “That’s going to be my motto. I’m copyrighting it as we speak.”
“You’re such a nerd,” Logan said with a laugh.
“That’s Logan’s way of saying ‘I love you.’”
“No, it’s just my way of calling you a nerd.”
There was an annoyed knock at the door. “Can you guys have your orgy somewhere else? You’ve been in there for nearly an hour,” Remy yelled.
The three of them laughed, their skin and faces slowly returning to normal. “Well, my friends,” Roman said. “Welcome to the rest of our lives.”

Shadowhunters Short Story #58. Baby Lightwood-Bane #4.
It is a chilly February day in 2016 when Magnus and Alec Lightwood-Bane receive the news that will change their lives forever.
It has been two years since Magnus and Alec adopted their youngest child and first daughter, Anna Catarina. Anna is almost two now and has remained a very happy, content little girl. She idolizes her brothers and is best friends with little Mina, as well as Clary and Jace’s daughter Lucie and Simon and Isabelle’s son and daughter George and Jessie.
Right now Alec is sitting in a room that he and Magnus made into a type of schoolroom for the boys (and Anna when she’s older) working on some history with Rafe, though Alec takes Rafe to The Institute to train, he works on the academic side of his (and Max’s) education here at home, often with help from Magnus. Max is in the living room finishing up a lesson with Magnus and Anna is in Magnus and Alec’s room, taking her nap.
“Okay Rafe, can you tell me the story about the first Shadowhunter? What was his name, how did he create Shadowhunters, stuff like that?” Alec asks, pulling the textbook away from Rafe so he can test him on what they just learned.
“Uh well he was a mundane in the 11th century and he was a crusader, and he was really worried about all the demons coming in through the void, so one day on his way to Constantinople he met a warlock- like papa- and asked him to summon Raziel at Lake Lyn. He did and when Raziel was summoned, Jonathan begged him to mix his blood with his to create a new superhero race of people who could defeat the demons. Raziel saw that Jonathan had good intentions so he agreed and then gave him to The Mortal Instruments- like Uncle Simon’s band’s name!- then Jonathan used the cup to turn his sister Abigail and his best friend David into Shadowhunters. David and Jonathan were inspired by the story of Jonathan and David in the Bible, so they took that story and created a ceremony where they took eachother’s blood and spoke the oath and put the runes on each other and became the first ever parabatia, but their bond was broken later when David became the first Silent Brother- like Uncle Jem use to be a Silent Brother- and that’s really all we know.” Alec smiles proudly at his son, he was sure to pass all his exams in a few years with flying colors, he could do wonderfully at The Academy if he chooses to go there when he’s older.
“Good job buddy, but remember when you’re writing about this in your tests don’t mention anything unrelated like how Uncle Simon’s band is also called The Mortal Instruments and that Uncle Jem use to be a Silent Brother, okay?” Alec gently says. He doesn’t mind Rafe’s brief diversions from the story, but an examiner certainly will.
“Okay, I just got excited, sorry.” Rafe quietly says, feeling embarrassed that he got distracted like a little kid .He’s almost 10 now, he’s a big boy, not a little kid anymore, like Max who’s still only 8 or Anna who really is only a baby.
“It’s okay buddy don’t be sorry, you know I don’t mind you adding in little things like that, but an examiner who doesn’t know us and our family won’t understand it’s relevance and importance and could mark you down, okay?” Alec gently says. Rafe nods his understanding. “Alright, I think that’s enough for today, how about you?”
“Uh-uh.” Rafe agrees.
“Come on, lets go see if your papa and Max are finished, then I’ll wake Anna up and we can go to the park if you like.” Alec says, closing the textbook in front of him.
“Uh-uh! Can we have pizza for dinner, please?” Rafe begs, turning his big brown eyes to his dad, knowing Alec can never resist his eldest child’s puppy dog eyes.
“Well I’ll talk to papa but I certainly think you’ve earned it today, and I’m sure Max has too.” Alec says, ruffling Rafe’s hair as they walk out of the schoolroom.
“I’ll go ask papa!” Rafe exclaims, darting out to the living room before Alec can say another word.
When Alec steps into the living room he sees that Magnus and Max have finished their lesson, and both boys are asking for pizza for dinner, so Alec quietly slips into his and Magnus’ room and make his way over to the crib by the bed, where Anna is sitting up, rubbing her eyes. He gently scoops her up and snuggles her close, breathing in her scent and pressing a kiss to her cheek.
“Hi baby.” Alec whispers, as Anna clutches his shirt and buries her face in his chest. “Oh sweetheart are you still tired? Did you have a nice nap?” He softly says, rubbing soothing circles on her back. “Come on, lets go see your brothers and papa, that will wake you up.” He grabs her pacifier from the crib and makes his way back into the living room, which has now been cleared up. The minute Anna sees Magnus she perks up and reaches for him. Magnus smiles broadly at his daughter and takes her into his arms, smoothing her hair down and kissing her forehead.
“There’s my girl, I missed you.” He softly says.
“Papa’s girl aren’t you Anna?” Alec says in an amused tone, lightly tickling his daughter’s cheek, causing her to squeal with laughter and squirm away from him.
“You just love being with papa because you know I’ll dress you in something amazing while your daddy would stick you in the first thing he found, isn’t that right my sweet Anna banana?” Magnus lightly says, holding her above his head which makes her scream and giggle with delight. Magnus loves having a little girl to buy adorable dresses and outfits for, there is such a small selection for fashionable boy clothes, especially when those boys are 10 and 8, but for a 2 year old little girl, the sky’s the limit.
“I just don’t understand the point of putting her in a designer outfit when she’s only going to end up getting half of her meals all over it and ruin it.” Alec says, as Magnus settles Anna back onto his hip. “Our daughter is the messiest little thing alive, you know that.”
“Yes but at least she’ll be fashionably messy when I dress her.”  Magnus points out.
“She’s going to end up like Jace if we’re not careful.” Alec teases. Magnus gives a fake gasp of horror and covers one of Anna’s ears.
“Don’t you dare say such a thing!  You’re going to confident like papa, right Anna? Not an arrogant fool like Uncle Jace.” Magnus coos. Anna smiles up at him in delight and clumsily claps her hands.
Half an hour later, the little family are walking toward the local park, Alec pushing Anna in her stroller, Magnus at his side and Max and Rafe running up ahead. As they walk, Magnus’ phone begins to buzz in his pocket.
“Hello?” He answers a few seconds later.
“Hey, it’s me.” Catarina’s voice comes down the line and a smile breaks out on Magnus’ voice.
“Oh Cat! Good to hear from you! Listen, Ragnor, Tessa and I are going out next week, do you want to come?” He asks, as Alec walks ahead a little bit so as not to listen in on Magnus’ private conversation.
“Id love to however I actually called about something in specific.” Catarina tells him.
“Oh what’s that?” He asks.
“Well a few weeks ago the hospital asked me if I could work on the maternity ward for a while, cover maternity leave ironically. A couple of weeks ago a young girl was admitted with bleeding, thankfully she and the baby are fine, but I grew close with her and got to talk with her a lot. She’s only 16 and not ready to be a mother yet at all, she’s planning to place her baby for adoption, I showed her yours and Alec’s profile and she took to you straight away, she’s not in hospital anymore but we keep in touch and she’s always asking me things about you and Alec, she really wants to meet you, if you’re interested.” Magnus stops dead in his tracks when Catarina finishes her story. Not long ago he and Alec agreed that they would like to extend their family for the last time. At one point in time Tessa had been an adoption consultant and helped bring together many children and parents, so she helped them create a profile book, which she then took a few copies of to give to any clients she and Jem got who were looking to place their child for adoption, and Catarina took another bunch to do the same.
“R-really? We only made up the booklet a few months ago.”  Magnus says in a breathy tone, beginning to walk again and running a hand through his hair.
“I know but it can happen very quickly, I know with Max, Rafe and Anna you all found each other by fate, but with a profile book to show expectant mothers and adoption consultants it can happen much more quickly.” Catarina explains. “You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.”
“No! We do! I mean, I’ll have to speak with Alec about it but I’m certain he will want this as much as I do, what’s the mother’s name? Is she mundane, Nephilim, what?” Magnus asks.
“Her name is Molly Bridgestock, she’s a Shadowhunter, from a very high up, proud, old Shadowhunter family. Her parents threatened to kick her out if she didn’t give up the baby, when I heard this I offered for her to stay with me or offered to contact Tessa, see if she and Jem could help, but Molly says she’s doing this adoption on her own terms, she loves her baby but she knows she can’t give them the life they deserve, though I do worry how her parents will react when they find out you’re a Warlock and you and Alec are a gay couple, Molly is completely fine with it, she was awe-struck when she saw Alec’s picture, truth be told I think she has a little crush on your Consul Ligthwood.” Magnus laughs lightly, not surprised that this young girl has a crush on his gorgeous husband, he can’t understand how everyone in the world isn’t in love with Alec.
“That doesn’t sound like a good home for any child, is Molly safe?” Magnus asks in a concerned tone, more than willing to take in both this young girl and her child, if need be.
“She says she is but I just don’t know, her parents are very ‘traditional’ if you know what I mean.” Catarina tells him.
“Yes unfortunately I do. I’ll talk to Alec and get back to you, in the meantime can you give Molly my number and address and let her know our door is always open for her? We would take Molly in and help her raise her baby herself if she wants.” Magnus softly says, wanting to do all he can for a child in need.
“Of course, talk to you soon.” Catarina says, before hanging up.
Over the next half hour or so, while Max, Rafe and Anna tire themselves out in the park, Magnus explains the whole situation to Alec. Alec agrees to meet Molly and adopt her baby if that’s what she wants, or to take her in and help her raise the baby, either, whatever she wants.
Magnus calls Catarina back and arranges a meeting with Molly for a few days from now, at their home.
Three days later, it is a bright, breezy day, oddly warm for the middle of February. Alec has just gotten back from dropping the kids off with Maryse, while Magnus stayed behind to make sure everything was perfect for Molly’s visit. She is due to arrive any minute now, and he and Alec are doing everything they can to stay calm.
At 2:00 p.m. on the dot, there is a light knock on the door and Magnus and Alec exchange nervous glances, before Magnus goes to answer the door. When he opens the door, he is struck by how young the girl standing in front of him looks. According to Catarina she is sixteen, but she barely looks it, with brown skin, long black hair falling around her shoulders and bright green eyes, she looks like she should be preparing for her first Clave Exam, not preparing to have a baby.He can’t help but think that this could be his daughter or one of his nieces in the near future, and his heart goes out to this young girl, who is doing this alone with no support from her family. He doesn’t understand parents who turn their back on their children, no matter what his kids do he will always, always love them and support them.
“You must be Molly.” Magnus says, smiling warmly at the young girl standing in front of him.
“As far as I’m aware.” She replies with a grin. ‘Sarcastic, Rafe is going to love her.’ Magnus thinks to himself.
“Come in and make yourself at home, we’re so glad you wanted to meet us.” Magnus says, guiding her into the living room where Alec is waiting.
“I’m glad you agreed to meet me, I’ve considered a few other people as parents to this baby, but when Catarina showed me your profile book it just felt right, I mean the idea of my baby being raised by The Consul and The High Warlock of Brooklyn is pretty amazing.” Molly says, her hand resting on her protruding stomach.
“I’m glad you think so, though our kids often seem to think we are the worst dad and papa in the world because we won’t let them have chocolate for breakfast, I don’t know why we let their aunts and uncles look after them anymore honestly, their grandmother feeds them properly but Alec’s brother and sister seem to only feed them junk.” Magnus says in an amused tone.Though really he can’t complain, the last time he and Alec looked after Mina, Tessa had nearly throttled him when he sent Mina back hyper as hell.
“You’ll have to excuse my husband being a hypocrite Molly, a few weeks ago we were looking after one of our nieces and Magnus gave her basically all the chocolate in the house, her mother almost killed him when she found out.” Alec says in an amused tone, as Molly and Magnus walk into the living room. Molly laughs lightly and says
“Can’t say I wouldn’t do the same, are your other children here?” Magnus indicates for her to take a seat.
“No, they’re with my mom, we thought it would be best if this first meeting is just the three of us, but if things work out you can meet them another time.” Alec says.
“Alright.” Molly says with a smile and a nod. “I don’t have that many questions for you, just one.” She adds.
“What is it?” Alec asks, grasping Magnus’ hand in his.
“Would you be okay with the adoption being open? Or at least semi-open? I want to be a part of the baby’s life, I want to be able to visit him and watch him grow up, and be there for him to ask questions when he’s older, and I don’t want the fact that he’s adopted to be a secret from him, I’m not saying I want to be his mother or anything, but I’d like to be like an Aunt to him.” Molly quietly says. She knew from the minute she found out about the baby that she couldn’t fully part with him forever, she knew placing him for adoption was the best for him, but she couldn’t hand him over and never see him again, though that’s exactly what her parents want. They wanted to send her away for the duration of the pregnancy and arrange to have the baby adopted out themselves, a closed adoption. They claimed it was for Molly’s sake and to save her reputation but she knows better, she knows it’s for their sake and that they’re ashamed of her and her baby,
“Yes we are absolutely fine with that, we never personally set out to have closed adoptions with Max, Rafe and Anna, it just worked out that way really, we know nothing about Max’s parents, he was abandoned, Rafe’s parents were killed in the Dark War with Sebastian, and Anna was abandoned too, but we’ve always been open to any form of adoption.” Magnus explains. “My friend Tessa Carstairs use to be an adoption consultant, she can help with the legal side of things.” He adds. Molly smiles and visibly relaxes.
“Okay great, you can ask me any questions you have now.” She says, glad to have at least one worry off her mind.
“You said ‘him’ when talking about the baby, do you know you’re having a boy?” Alec asks in a hopeful tone. He’d like to know if he and Magnus are going to have another son or daughter, he’ll be thrilled either way but he would like to know before the baby is born.
“No I don’t know for sure, I just have a feeling he’s a boy, but if you two want to find out I’m happy to ask Brother Enoch at my next check up.” Molly replies.
“How far long are you?” Magnus asks, trying to calculate by the size of her stomach, even though he knows that’s not very accurate. When Tessa had been 6 months pregnant with Mina, Magnus had thought she was full term and asked if she was far from her due date, Tessa had almost killed him. It’s surprising Magnus is still alive, the amount of times he’s done something to warrant leaving Tessa ready to kill him.
“5 months, I’m due at the beginning of July.” Molly tells them, rubbing her bump.
“I’m sorry if this is a sensitive issue and you don’t have to answer if you don’t  want to, but is the father in the picture?” Alec gently asks. Molly blushes and shakes her head.
“No, I-I don’t actually know who the father is, it was a one-night stand, I don’t remember his name, what he looked like or anything, so you don’t have to worry about him.” Molly quietly says in a tone of embarrassment.
“You don’t have to be embarrassed Molly, these things happen, it doesn’t make you a bad person or anything.” Magnus gently says.
“I’m sorry I brought it up, I didn’t mean to upset you.” Alec softly says.
“No it’s okay, you have a right to know.” Molly says, taking a breath to ward off the tears.
The three of them continue to talk for another hour or so, getting to know each other and their situations.
“Well.” Molly says an hour later, once they’ve spoken about anything and everything. “I made up my mind before I even met you, I’m choosing you as my baby’s parents.”
“Thank you, we promise we will give your baby the most amazing life, and you can be as involved as much as you like.” Alec says in a strained tone of joy.
“I know things aren’t great at home, you could stay with us if you like, you can stay for as long as you want, we have the room and we could take care of you and the baby.” Magnus offers, unable to not offer help to a child in need.
“That’s very kind of you but I actually recently moved out of my parents house, I’m staying with a friend and their parents are extremely kind and good to me.” Molly says. Magnus relaxes at this, knowing he won’t have to worry about his child and the mother of his child as much.
“Well I’m glad, but please know that our door is always open, before and after the baby is born.” Magnus gently says. Molly smiles broadly and says
“Thank you, I appreciate that.” That night, for the first time in months, Molly is able to sleep peacefully, knowing her child is going to have the most wonderful life, being raised by two of the kindest, most caring people she has ever met.
Over the next few months, Magnus and Alec tell their friends and family about the baby and start to prepare for their child’s arrival. Shortly after meeting Molly, she invited them to attend her 6 month check up with Brother Enoch, where it was confirmed she was carrying a boy. Max and Rafe are thrilled at the idea of having a little brother, though Anna isn’t too sure about it yet.
Alec insists on decorating the nursery by hand, not allowing Magnus to use his magic to fix it up. This is the first time they’ll have a new-born, Max was almost 1 when he was adopted, Rafe was 5 and Anna was a few months old. This baby will be days old when they bring him home, and they’ll get to be there for his birth, get to hold him and love him straight away.
While Tessa was helping Magnus, Alec and Molly with the legal side of the adoption, she offered to deliver the baby, having spent years as a midwife (Alec wondered if there was anything Tessa hadn’t done.) and delivered hundreds of babies, including her own grandchildren. Molly happily accepted and ended up having the majority of the rest of her prenatal check ups from Tessa.
They decide to name Ragnor and Tessa as the baby’s godparents. Ragnor was surprisingly good with children, Mina absolutely adores him and is always asking about her Uncle Ragnor and it never fails to make Tessa, Catarina and Magnus laugh, to see their foreboding, grumpy green friend, wrapped around the finger of a little four year old.
Right now, its the last week in  June, and Molly is due in just two weeks and Magnus and Alec are gathering together just a few last things for their son. They picked out a name a few weeks ago but decided to keep it a secret until the baby is born.
Currently, Alec is sitting at the kitchen table with Anna in his lap, scribbling on a piece of paper, while he talks with Clary, who is sitting across from him at the table, with her and Jace’s newborn son Stephen, asleep in a sling across her chest.
“So how’s Lucie adjusting to having Stephen around?” Alec asks, knowing that his little niece was not too happy about having a brother, when Clary was pregnant.
“Really well actually, she adores him. I was painting the other day and had Stephen on a blanket on the floor beside me, I looked over at him at one stage and found Lucie curled up beside him, telling him stories, it was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.” Clary says in a fond tone, looking into the living room, where Jace is standing with Lucie on his back, her arms linked around his neck. Lucie is such a daddy’s girl, she has Jace wrapped tightly around her little finger and has done since the day she was born. Jace is a big softie when it comes to his kids, he’s happy to sit and have tea parties all day with Lucie, and he loves to sit at the piano with Stephen and play for him. Often on sleepless nights, Jace will take Stephen downstairs to the music room and play for him until he falls asleep.
“Hopefully Anna warms up to her brother just as well, Max and Rafe can’t wait to meet him, but Anna isn’t too sure about him.” Alec says, running his hand over his daughter’s blonde curls.
“I’m sure she will, Maryse was telling me the other day how jealous you were of Izzy when she was born.” Clary says in an amused tone.
“Oh no, did she get out the baby pictures again?” Alec asks. Maryse loves to tell embarrassing stories about Izzy, Alec and Jace to Clary, Magnus and Simon, and the kids love hearing stories about their parents as little kids.
“Of course, I never realized how much Jessie looks like Izzy, if you put a baby picture of the two of them side by side you could hardly tell the difference, and Stephen is his dad’s twin.” Clary says.
“And Lucie is your twin, Jocelyn showed me your baby pictures the other day, when she and Luke were looking after the kids for us for a while.” Alec says with a smile. Little Lucie has ginger red curls like her mother, as well as her pale skin, freckles, green eyes and her bone structure, all she got from Jace it seems, are his eye shape, mouth shape and nose shape.
“Ugh of course she did, Stephen I promise I’m never going to be as embarrassing as your nana okay?” Clary coos, dropping a kiss to her son’s curly blonde head.
Just then Alec feels a hand on his shoulder, and twists in his seat to see Magnus standing behind him.
“Hey, you okay? You look worried.” Alec gently asks, taking Magnus’ hand from his shoulder and pressing a kiss to it.
“I just got a call from Tessa, she and Jem are with Molly, she asked them to come around because she was bleeding a bit and having pains but she wasn’t sure if it was labor or not and didn’t want to worry us if it was nothing, but Tessa’s checked her over and it is labor. They’re at the Basilias.” Alec’s eyes widen and his heart begins to race, their son is going to be born in the next couple of hours, they’re going to be parents again.
“You guys go, I’ll call mom to come pick up the kids and Clary and I will stay with them until she gets here.” Jace says, coming up to stand beside Magnus.
“Really? Are you sure?” Alec ask, trying to keep the panic out of his tone.
“Positive, now go, you don’t want to miss your son’s birth.” Jace says, taking Anna from Alec and lightly shoving his parabatia toward the door.
Magnus and Alec quickly gather a few clothes and such for the baby and quickly portal to The Basilias, which is now located in New York.
When they arrive, Jem is waiting for them to show them to Molly’s room.
“Is Molly alright, is the baby alright?” Alec asks in a frantic tone filled with worry. Jem smiles understandingly, having been just as anxious and worried when Tessa was in labor with Mina.
“They’re both fine Alec, Tessa gave Molly a painkilling spell so she’s much more comfortable, there are no problems with the baby either, come on I’ll take you into Molly.” Jem calmly says, gesturing  for Magnus and Alec to follow him.
Jem leads them into a sterile white room with an en suite bathroom, a bed,a few chairs, a tray by the bed and a nightstand. Molly is half lying half sitting in the bed, propped up by a mountain of fluffy white pillows, dressed in a white and blue hospital gown. Tessa is standing beside her, talking quietly to her.
Magnus and Alec stay with Molly throughout the rest of her labor, while Tessa and Jem come in from time to time to check up on her and the baby.
When it comes time to push, Tessa sits at the bottom of the bed, ready to deliver the baby, Jem stands off to the side so that he can be on hand if anything goes wrong but he’s not so close that he’s crowding Molly, and Magnus and Alec stand on either side of her. Molly grips both Magnus and Alec’s hands in hers, drawing strength and comfort from them being there. She is just so glad she isn’t doing this alone.
Her labor is long and painful and as the time goes on, the painkilling spell begins to wear off and Molly begins to feel almost everything, while growing more and more tired, feeling like it will never be over.
“Oh God I can’t do this anymore.” Molly weakly says, as the contraction eases and she leans back into the pillows, grimacing in pain.
“Of course you can, I know how difficult this is for you and how painful it is, but you are so close, I can see the baby’s head, you’re almost there now.” Tessa gently reassures her.
“You’re doing so well Molly, like Tessa said it will be over soon, then your life can go back to normal, you won’t have to deal with all this pain and morning sickness and all that anymore.” Alec gently says, squeezing her hand encouragingly, trying his best to be helpful. He’d never been present for any birth before, he had no idea how to comfort a laboring mother. He knew he should’ve asked Jace for advice, even though he was more of a wreck during Lucie and Stephen’s births than Clary was. Maybe he should’ve gone to Jem, or Simon.
“I just want it to be over.” Molly weakly says in a teary tone, her breath hitching in her throat as another contraction hits.
“I know darling I know, and it will be soon, and it will be all worth it, I promise you it will, I know this isn’t a typical situation but you will get to be in your baby’s life, you’ll get to hold him and love him as much as you want, while carrying on with your own life, knowing that he’s in good hands.” Magnus calmly says, rubbing soothing circles on Molly’s back. He can’t imagine how bittersweet this moment must be for her, not long from now she’ll get to meet and hold her baby, but she’ll also be placing him with someone else, unless she changes her mind at the last second, which is something Magnus has been worried about for the last 4 months.
At 4:21 p.m. on the 16th of June 2016, Molly gives birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy, who looks just like her, with tanned skin, a mop of black hair and vibrant green eyes.
“By The Angel, he’s perfect.” Alec says in a breathy tone, gently stroking his son’s bloody cheek, once Tessa has laid the baby on a blanket on Molly’s chest.
“Molly you did so well, you are absolutely amazing biscuit.” Magnus softly says, gently squeezing her hand and brushing her hair back from her face. Normally Magnus reserves that nickname for Clary, but he has a feeling he and Molly will grow to be as close as he and Clary, and the nickname suits her.
“Thanks.” Molly says in a breathy tone, still trying to catch her breath, feeling as though she’s just run a marathon.
"Hello little one, your siblings are going to adore you, and your grandma is going to spoil you rotten.” Magnus quietly says, turning to look at his son.
“Anna is going to be so mad she’s still the only girl.” Alec says in an amused tone, knowing how much Anna wanted a sister, she thought it was only fair that the baby be a girl, since she already had two brothers.
“Do you want to hold him?” Molly asks, once Tessa has helped her wrap the baby up to keep him warm.
“You hold him first Alexander.” Magnus says. Alec carefully and expertly gathers the baby into his arms, and is instantly brought back to the first time he held Max, then Rafe and then Anna. Holding his son he feels a sense of peace settle over him, and somehow he knows that his family is complete.
“Hi baby, I love you.” Alec quietly says, taking the baby’s tiny hand in his and pressing a kiss to it.
“What are you going to call him?” Molly asks, as Magnus joins Alec and slips an arm around him and their son.
“You tell her.” Alec encourages his husband, stroking the baby’s hand with his thumb.
Magnus looks from his baby to Molly and proudly says
“Henry, his name is Henry Jonathan Lightwood-Bane.”
“Oh, after our Henry?” Tessa quietly asks in a tight tone, as Jem slips an arm around her waist in an attempt to comfort her. Magnus smiles sadly and nods, grieving for his old friend.
“Yes, Henry was one of the greatest friends I ever had, he was a wonderful man and I can only hope my son grows up to be like him too.”  He quietly says, looking down at little Henry in Alec’s arms.
“He’d be honored Magnus, and with parents like you and Alec, you can be sure he’ll grow up to a wonderful young man.” Jem kindly says, which makes his wife tear up even more.
“And you say you don’t have a way with words, James Carstairs.” Jem laughs lightly and presses a kiss to his wife’s temple and whispers to her
“Well it seems we’re going to have to come up with a different middle name for our son.” Making sure that Magnus and Alec aren’t looking, Tessa rests her hand on her belly and softly says
“Nathaniel, William Nathaniel.”
Just a few hours later Magnus and Alec head home with Henry, with promises to send Molly lots of pictures and an open invitation for her to come visit whenever she’s ready.
That night, back in Magnus and Alec’s loft, little Henry lays sleeping soundly in his bassinet by his parents bed, while they try and settle Anna in her new room. Half an hour after being put to bed, little Henry wakes up and starts to fuss when he realizes he’s alone. Just then two figures materialize either side of his bassinet. On his right is a tall thin man, with kind hazel eyes and wild ginger hair, dressed in a white shirt, a red waistcoat and black trousers. On the left of the bassinet, is a small thin woman with flowing brown hair and kind brown eyes, dressed in a flowing teal evening gown, that looks like it’s from the Victorian Era.
“Shh little one you’re alright, don’t cry sweet boy, you’re safe.” Charlotte Fairchild soothes the baby, reaching out to stroke his cheek.
“He’s beautiful.” Henry Fairchild quietly says, marveling at the tiny creature in the bassinet, bringing him back to when his boys were little.
“Oh he really is, I can’t believe it’s been so long since our boys were this little, or our girls for that matter. Oh Henry can you believe they named him after you?” Charlotte asks in an excited tone. She and Henry had been shocked when they learned this little boy’s name from Will, who would often come and go to see Mina and Kit. Henry was and is honored and delighted that his old friend still thinks about him and has named his son after him.
“No I’m still rather shocked, but delighted. I’m so happy for Magnus Lottie, he was so miserable for so long before he met Alec.” Henry softly says, smiling down at the little baby.
“Me too, Alexander is so like Gideon, and he looks so much like Will, it must hurt Tessa terribly.” Charlotte says in a concerned tone. She’s always looked out for her Tessa, and has always worried about her, even though Jem has always been there to keep her safe and Tessa is more than capable of protecting herself.
“Our Tessa is stronger than that, she has learned how to cope with her grief, the sight of anything that reminds her of Will no longer drives her into despair and she’s happy now too, now she has Jem, Christopher and Mina.” Henry says.
“True enough, now we better get this fussy little boy settled, if he’s anything like his name sake he should be dead to the world in no time, isn’t that right sweet boy?” Charlotte coos, smiling as the baby grabs at her hand and stares up at her in awe. Henry smiles warmly at his wife and says
“Where did you think Matthew got his ability to sleep through anything, from? But you’re right as usual Lottie, you should sing to him, our four always loved when you sang to them.” Henry suggests.
“Well it’s been years since I’ve sang a lullaby, but I suppose I could try.” Charlotte shyly says.
In no time at all, Little Henry starts to drift off to the sound of his Aunty Charlotte’s voice, while his Uncle Henry sits beside him and holds his little hand, assuring him that he’s not alone.

Except Dean must have done something to epically piss off the universe because Jess’s best man just happens to be Castiel friggin’ Novak. He’s got even hotter since High School, but apparently no friendlier and if Cas wants to spend the week pretending like they’ve never met before? Fine. Two can play at that game.

“On Christmas Eve, if you eat Angel Cookies right before bed and then dream of your one true love, he will be your destiny.”
The Shurley clan sure believe their old family legend, but not Castiel James – not since he was a pudgy teenager, running down the church aisle on Christmas Day, trying to stop his very handsome and very straight teacher Dean Winchester from marrying someone else. And he’ll never fall foolishly in love again, especially not for Dean Winchester.
But when the wish for a big family Christmas from his sick father brings him back home, Castiel has to confront his past. And not only that: a letter from a little fan from his home town is weighing heavy on his conscience. Reaching out to a troubled kid might endanger his secret identity. Adding to the problem is the shock of discovering that Dean is the little girl’s father – unattached and hotter than ever. Dean’s smile still makes Castiel melt, but Castiel knows that ship has sailed. The fact that Dean seems to be on board this time, however, doesn’t make it any easier for him.

Dean Winchester, a remarkable accountant at Sandover Bridge & Iron Inc., however, had other priorities. He lived to serve, hidden in a mask that didn’t allow him to be honest with himself, but lonesome and boring.
When destiny made their paths cross, in a less than promising way, with Dean as the instigator and Castiel as his victim, Dean’s mind started wandering, in between pies and cakes, coffees and muffins... What if Mr. Morrison was right?
After all, as the guy used to say, "there can’t be any large-scale revolution, until there’s a personal revolution first."

Kiss the Baker by Ltleflrt
Jo is pregnant and craving something a little bit unusual. When she sends Dean on a mission to find her some chocolate cake donuts with bacon sprinkles, he's sure that he'll fail. Luckily his partner Benny comes to his rescue and introduces him to a quirky little bakery that sells all kinds of weird (and delicious!) baked goods. And they do special orders!
Dean finds excuses to keep going back, and Castiel finds excuses to keep giving him special treats.

Writing practice #1: Starbucks promote
*Author's not : So this was supposed to be a short AU thing to help get me back into the writing mood but it turned out longer than I expected. I even started writing an alternate version but I don't know if I'll post that one. Anyway, this is a simple love at first sight story. Enjoy.
*******************************************
Title: Something Interesting.
"We are truly sorry for the inconvenience. Please have a nice day. " As he watched yet another disappointed costumer storm out into the crisp morning light, Yoichi's strained business smile finally twitched. "tch...fucking idiot." he whispered harshly under his breath. 'What is wrong with people these days!?' The whole unicorn frappachino debauchery had been the bane of his existence for the past few weeks. The stupid trend had died months ago yet there were still a few doltish Instagram wannabes who kept crawling back asking for a goddamned unicorn frappachino and the worst part was that he got yelled at when he told them they didn't make the damn things anymore. Why!? He didn't know how to make them, he never even liked them! Honestly, he was so close to yelling back and calling them out on their bullshit, but he wasn't ready to get fired over some silly costumer's antics. Going job hunting again would just be one big hassle plus it would be difficult to find another manager who was understanding enough to let him wear a light dusting of makeup on a workday.
He heaved an exasperated sigh and ran a hand through his dark, slightly waved hair that fell just past his shoulders. Damn, it was still morning but he already felt like punching someone in the eye. "You hanging in there, Chi? " Like a dull butter knife hacking through his slightly murderous thoughts, Eugenie's flat toned voice rang out as she worked the espresso machine behind him. There might have been a hint of concern in there somewhere, he wasn't sure. One never knew when it came to his small bestie. "Haa... sometimes I wish internet trends could just burn in hell." " 'nother unicorn frappa order? " "It's the 10th one this week and it's just Tuesday! Whatever happened to regular plain coffee!?" "Don't let it bother you, sweets. Just blame the internet like everyone else does." "Tch... I hope they trip on a fidget spinner and break their IPhone. " He heard a chuckle for his tiny friend. 'Oh...she laughed. There might be a blue moon tonight or something.' It was very rear to get away sort of reaction from Genie (emotional or otherwise), so much so that he and most of their other close friends used her sparse emotional responses as either a forecast for natural disasters, a luck/love horoscope or a sign of the second coming of Christ. Whichever one it was, she never seemed to mind. It was all in good fun anyway. "Well, 'nough about the internet," her voice returned to its original stoic tune, not even hinting at her brief moment of amusement, "You need to cheer up. You promised to help me with my new piece after work. Can't have my pretty model being all pissy now, can I? "
He smiled. "Still won't give up on calling me 'pretty', will you." "Nah. " "Even if I offered to clean your house for a week? " "Oh, please. Both of us know you can't clean worth shit. " "Haha... Yeah, you're right. " And just like that, he was laughing again. Like whole ordeal with the customer never happened. It was amazing how she could cheer him up without even trying. It might be some weird superpower or something but nevertheless, he was lucky to have her as a friend. "Hey... Thanks, Gee." She glanced over her shoulder at him with the same blank look but her calm blue eyes had a gentle sparkle that somehow conveyed her appreciation. "Any time, babe." With that, she scurried off to deliver the espresso order, leaving Yoichi to face his counter once again. He took a deep calming breath and was ready to give the day another try. Eugenie was right. He didn't have to time to get so worked up over a few dense costumers. Who knows, maybe something interesting might take his mind off the whole incident. Just as that thought crossed his mind, a dull thud drew his attention to the front entrance as a tall man made his way in with a hand lightly rubbing his forehead. 'Wow, that hair... Wait, did he just walk into the glass door...? ' Yoichi quickly covered up his upcoming giggle with a discreet cough but he didn't miss the open chuckles of the few patrons in the cafe who witnessed what happened.
'Poor guy ' He began to observe the slightly disoriented young man. He looked to the first thing that had caught his attention, the man's hair. At first he thought it was a normal dark colour but when it caught the light of the sun, he realised that it was dyed dark purple colour that faded into navy blue at the tips. It was also very VERY long. It ran past the man's firm looking rear and was pulled back into a single braid with a cute little red bow at the end. It was rare to see guys who kept hair like that. It was almost...whimsical in fact. He took note of the man's pale green eyes darting from the menu above the counter to the white floor tiles, desperately trying to avoid any eye contact after his embarrassing entrance. He also took note of his height. He was a tall guy, about 6"2 from Yoichi's estimate, with a somewhat muscular frame that was draped in a casual shirt, light sweater and jeans. He had an overall gentle disposition despite his current state of nervousness of which Yoichi began to find oddly adorable in a way. He didn't usually make it a habit of checking out the odd male costumer who came in and out of the cafe but this guy was different. Just seeing him filled Yoichi with this strange urge. An urge to tease him relentlessly until he was too embarrassed to function. It seemed like a perfectly normal feeling to have. Almost.
"Welcome" to Starbucks, sir. How may I help? " The guy almost jumped through the roof at the sound of Yoichi's voice, as if he hadn't realised he had just walked up to the counter. Yoichi began to have a hard time keeping his business smile from turning into a full on grin. The guy was way too cute. "Oh! umm... I-I'm sorry. I would like a C-cascara Coconut milk Latte. P-please... " Yoichi never thought he'd hear the voice of an angel until today. Despite his constant nervous stuttering, his voice had this odd placidity to it, as if it belonged to some lake fairy or something. He wouldn't mind listening to him talk a bit more. "Okay, and what size will it be? " "Umm... a-uh - what are the sizes again?... Ah, yes! Grande, please." He looked quite proud that he could remember those silly size names and honestly, it was hard not to feel proud of him as well. Not when he had that small triumphant smile on his face. "And your name, sir? " "Oh... Akito. " 'Akito...' Yoichi committed it to memory. He wouldn't forget that name. He didn't want to for some reason. "OK, sir. Your order will be out shortly. " "Alright. Thank you very much. "
The nervous tension seemed to ease off Akito. His face relaxed into an easy smile and Yoichi thought he had lost his heart for a moment. 'Not fair. That smile is just not fair ' Yoichi reluctantly pulled himself away and began making the latte. He stole a few glances at him every few seconds. They had made eye contact a few times, he was sure of it. He watched him fiddle with his phone in an attempt to be discreet. 'Hehe... such a cutie. ' "Cute one, eh. " Eugenie came up beside him to make another costumer's order, "you going for it? " "You think I should? " "He's not the usual spot on your radar but, " she glanced back to give Akito a quick once over, "he seems harmless enough. " He smiled and gave his petite friend a small playful nudge. "I don't need your approval, short stack." She nudged him back. "You never ask for my approval. That's why you've had such shit exs." "Hey now. They weren't all that bad. " Nope, they were. But he wasn't planning to admit he had shit taste in guys. Genie sighed and shook her head like a disappointed mother. "Just go before someone else picks him up. " She was right. Most of the store's patrons had gotten over Akito's not-so-graceful entrance and were now throwing curious glances his way, some were openly starring at him. One brave soul even took a quick picture. And from his sudden stiff posture, Akito noticed them as well . 'Ha, don't even think about it. You leeches.'
He was about to put the finishing touches on the latte but stopped. Why was he suddenly interested in this guy? Akito wasn't even his type. He usually went for the stereotypical bad boy and this guy gave off more of a big puppy vibe but there was just something oddly interesting about him. This was the first time he picked a partner on the basis of being "oddly interesting" but since he hadn't dated anyone in almost 8 months, maybe "interesting" was what he needed. With his mind made up, he finished the order and called out for Akito to pick it up. He looked up at him as he made his way to the counter, making sure to keep eye contact. He dropped his stiff business smile and went for something more friendly albeit a tad bit flirtatious and lastly he made sure their fingers brushed against each other as he handed over the drink. "Have a nice day, sir" "I-um... T-thank you." Yoichi didn't miss the bit of red that creped up on Akito's cheeks as he turned to leave, stumbling a bit with the door on his way out. Yep. Interesting was definitely what he needed. **********************************************
And that's it. I hope you enjoyed that. Some feedback would be nice. Thank you.

Fic: When in Brooklyn
After returning from his first date with Magnus, Alec runs straight into Izzy. Merciles interrogation and a second date with Magnus ensue. (3,910 words)
Read on the AO3
Alec didn’t even have time to take his boots and jacket off before the door to his room flew open and Izzy stormed through it. She stopped a few steps away from him, with her arms folded over her chest and an expectant look in her eyes.
“So?”
Alec rolled his eyes. He loved his sister, he really did, but sometimes her endless curiosity was just unbearable. Especially when it came to his private life. More specifically, him dating Magnus.
Also, he was still holding a bit of a grudge against her for all that fuss about his outfit a few hours earlier. He decided that it was time for a little revenge for that. So instead of doing what she wanted and telling her all about his date with Magnus, he just shrugged off his jacket and pretended not to know what she was talking about. “So what?”
Izzy grinned, playfully smacking her brother’s upper arm. “Oh you know what I’m talking about. Your date with Magnus - how did it go?” She looked at him with big, curious puppy eyes and Alec almost caved in. He had always had a hard time saying no to that look.
Instead, he turned away from Izzy to store away the leather jacket in his cabinet and tried to pull himself together. Revenge, he reminded himself and grinned mischievously. He turned back to Izzy, seemingly unbothered by those puppy eyes. “Oh, that”, he deadpanned. “It was alright.”
Izzy gasped for air and stamped her foot onto the ground, which had Alec laughing. His sister was just too amusing when she was not getting what she wanted.
“Aright? Come on, Alec, you know how curious I am about stuff like that. Don’t be mean. I tell you everything about my dates.”
“Yeah, half of which I don’t even want to know about. Besides, you have been getting on my nerves all afternoon. So deal with the consequences”, Alec scoffed and flopped down onto his bed. He looked back at his sister and laughed when he noticed that she had changed tactics. Instead of deliberately trying to make him feel bad about not telling her anything, she had put on a disappointed face, all pouted lips and furrowed brows.
The sight was so endearing that Alec couldn’t keep up his unimpressed façade any longer – he let out a gentle laugh and patted the empty space next to him, motioning for her to sit down. Izzy put on a big grin when she sat down and Alec put an arm around her, squeezing her tight. “You are such an annoying little shit sometimes, Isabelle.”
Izzy didn’t even look the slightest bit sorry – she even had the nerves to put on a smug grin. “But it gets me what I want, big bro. Now, start talking. How was it?”
Alec tried to ignore the bubbling warmth in his chest when he called back the memories of his evening with Magnus. “Honestly, it was great. We went to Paris and – “
Isabelle’s eyes got big and her mouth dropped open in disbelief. “He took you to Paris for your first date? Well, that warlock sure knows how to make a good impression.”
“Yeah, I guess you could say that”, Alec admitted and continued reluctantly telling her about the restaurant and their walk by the Seine. Izzy kept asking him for more details constantly and chuckled when she saw her big brother blush when obliged and after a short pause told her about their kiss on the bridge. Alec tried to keep his narration as short as possible, but by the time he was done talking, Izzy put both her hands over her heart and fell back onto the bed with a dreamy gaze in her eyes anyway. “By the angel Alec, that is so romantic, I am so jealous right now”.
“Jealous of what?”
Alec all but groaned when a familiar mop of blond hair appeared around the doorway. Being questioned about his date by Izzy was embarrassing enough, but apparently the universe hated him enough to send over his parabatai, who was no less curious than their sister.
“Alec went on his first date with Magnus tonight and they went to freaking Paris” Izzy blurted out before Alec could even open his mouth to tell Jace that he should go mind his own business.
But instead of a snarky or sarcastic comment, Jace barely even reacted to the news of Alec’s spontaneous trip to Europe. On the contrary, he didn’t seem to impressed at all. His face stayed calm, the only hint to him being surprised was the slight raise of his eyebrows. But apart from that, Jace hardly reacted. And that could only mean one thing – there was work to do. “Yeah, great. Alec, we need to get going. There’s been a demon attack about six blocks down from Union square. Shape-shifters, I think. Come on”, he said and nodded towards the hallway.
Alec released a breath he didn’t even realize he had been holding. Usually he hated late-night missions when he wasn’t even on patrol, but tonight he couldn’t be happier about the unexpected opportunity to get away from Izzy’s questions. Getting up, he shot Jace a thankful look and got a sympathetic smile in return. “Been there, buddy. When Clary first moved in here, Izzy wouldn’t stop interrogating me, so I know the feeling”, Jace said and patted his brother’s shoulder when the older shadowhunter moved past him and into the hallway.
Alec was pretty sure he’d never been happier about the existence of Clary Fray.
_
Magnus felt like he was a teenager all over again. Once he got back into his apartment, he felt like dancing all over the place and swooning over Alec for at least the next few hours. He tried to pull himself together, but he just couldn’t. The evening had just gone too well. Get yourself together Bane, you’re over 400 years old and this is not how you usually react to first dates, he scolded himself. Unfortunately, that didn’t help much either.
Again, Magnus blamed it all on Alec. From the moment that shadowhunter had shown up on his doorstep earlier that night, he just had known that this date would be special. And he had been right. Being with Alec just felt like second nature to him. There were no awkward moments, no embarrassing silence, not a single time when he’d doubted the decision to go out with the shadowhunter. Instead, Magnus had been able to let go and just enjoy the time with Alec.
He’d even felt comfortable enough to tell him a thing or two about his past – stuff that would usually scare people away instead of making them stick around. But again, Alec had surprised him in just listened, letting the warlock talk about those the shadows from the past, not judging him for a single second.
Long story short, Magnus Bane was pretty sure that Alec Lightwood was someone special. The warlock let out a happy sigh, shrugged off his jacked and carelessly threw it over the armrest of his living room couch, earning an angry hiss from beneath the fabric. Magnus slapped his hands in front of his mouth in shock and then rushed over to the couch. He was just about to remove the jacket with a snap of his fingers when a very displeased-looking cat crawled out from underneath the shiny purple fabric.
“Oh Chairman, I am so sorry. I didn’t see you there. Sorry, darling”, Magnus apologized, feeling bad immediately.  He picked the Chairman up and cuddled him tightly to his chest. But apparently the Chairman didn’t feel at all like cuddling. All he did was squirm in Magnus’s arms until the warlock let him go. As soon as his paws touched the floor, the cat shot Magnus an angry look and returned back onto the couch, laying down in his usual spot. A few seconds later, Magnus heard a content, soft snoring from where his cat was rolled up into a ball of fur.
“Traitor”, Magnus murmured and walked over to the kitchen and his liquor cabinet. He could really use a drink right now. He quickly got a Martini ready and then joined the Chairman on the couch. Magnus put his feet on the coffee table and smiled softly when he reminisced the final moments of his date with Alec.
After they had decided to go back home, he had portaled them to a spot a few blocks away from the Institute. Just to be safe. After all, this had only been their first date and even though Magnus was pretty sure there were more to follow, he wanted to spare themselves the judging looks of the overly-conservative nephilim at the Institute, first and foremost those of Maryse Lightwood.
Not because he couldn’t bear those looks and all the judgement – he had stopped caring about what other people thought of him about 200 years ago – but because of Alec. Of course, the shadowhunter had stood up to the Institute’s far too conservative values more than once since the wedding, but still, there was no need to make this more complicated than absolutely necessary. So he had just opted for a short, but sweet goodbye kiss, leaving Alec a bit flustered and with the promise to call him the following day.
A promise he intended to keep, but when he looked over to Chairman Meow who managed to keep a frown on his furry face even in his sleep, he had a different idea.
_
Alec didn’t check his phone until the next morning. The demon Jace and him had chased near Union Square had proven to be much more of a challenge than expected, leaving both him and his parabatai completely exhausted after they finally had managed to eliminate it.
Once back at the institute, Alec had only taken a quick shower and fallen into his bed, passing out immediately and not wasting a single thought to anything, not even to Magnus.
So the surprise was even bigger when he woke up the next morning and, once he had turned off his alarm, noticed a new message from Magnus on the screen sent shortly after they had said goodbye to each other last night.
When he opened the message, he found not only a text but also a picture of a really cute, but somehow also really grumpy-looking cat sleeping in Magnus’s living room. Alec smiled at the cute photo before he started reading the actual text.
My cat is totally sulking because I didn’t introduce you to him yesterday. I think he hates me more than ever now.
Alec laughed to himself and started typing a reply.
Well, seems like we need to make up for that, don’t you think?
He hit send right away, without much thinking about what he’d just written. Overthinking made anything worse anyway.  Instead, he put his phone back onto his bedside table and wriggled out of the sheets to start his day.
Throughout the day, Alec tried not to think too much about Magnus and their date. There were more important things to deal with right now, for example the war they had to win.
Still, he couldn’t completely shut the warlock out of his mind – whenever he had a moment to himself, no matter how short, his thoughts got carried back to Paris easily. But they came back to the present immediately when he heard the oh-so-familiar staccato of sharp steps approaching him.
Alec had stopped bothering about his mother almost never greeting him a long time ago. Maryse Lightwood had never been one of those mothers who showed her love for her children openly. Also, he figured that she was still kind of pissed at him about the wedding.
“Alec”, she just said sharply, “there was a demon attack in northern Manhattan. I already told Jace that you two should take care of that one. Go get ready.” And gone she was. Alec didn’t even try to argue and just nodded towards the door when Jace appeared in the main hall of the Institute. They had a demon to get rid of.
When he got the chance to check is phone again in the early afternoon, he found that his favorite warlock had already replied.
I got a few errands to run tomorrow, but how about dinner and a movie at my place? Does 8 pm work for you?
Again, Alec did not really think about what to answer and just typed back right away.
You need any help cooking? I could come over earlier if you want.
Alec didn’t cook very often, but compared to his siblings his cooking skills were pretty decent. Isabelle somehow always managed to either burn the stuff she was cooking or make it completely inedible. And as for Jace, Alec wasn’t even sure if his brother knew how to switch on a stove.
He was about to put his phone back into his pocket when another text from Magnus popped up on the screen.
Any excuse to see you earlier is fine, Alexander. Come over whenever you’re done at the Institute :)
_
When Alec arrived at Magnus’s loft the next day, he found the warlock leaning against his kitchen counter, flipping through what seemed to be a really, really old cooking book judging from the dust that rose from the paper whenever he turned a page.
Magnus looked up and rose his eyebrows in surprise when he saw that Alec was frowning.
“Has nobody ever told you that you should lock your front door? I mean, I could have been a burglar or something like that.”
Magnus chuckled before he put the book down onto the counter and walked over to Alec, wrapping his arms around his waist and pulling him close. “No need to. The entire place is glamoured, only people I want to have here can come in. Believe me, if you were a burglar, you wouldn’t even have made it through the front door.”
He looked up into the shadowhunter’s eyes and relished in the feeling the soft gaze of those brown eyes gave him. He had been on his own for so long that he had almost forgotten what it felt like to care about someone so much. Now, his heart clenched a bit as if it couldn’t take it.
Judging from the soft smile on Alec’s face, the shadowhunter felt just the same. “Good thing I’m not a burglar, then”, Alec murmured, his gaze shifting down to Magnus’s lips when he ran his hand over he warlock’s cheek.
Magnus smiled softly. “Believe me, Alec, you have been on my list of welcomed guests since the day we met.” And then he finally leaned up to give his shadowhunter the welcome he deserved.
_
Cooking with a warlock was interesting, to say the least. That much Alec could say after watching Magnus whirl around his kitchen for a while, collecting sauce pans, knives and other kitchen tools, the blue sparks of his magic following him wherever he went.
Not only didn’t they have to buy the ingredients for the simple Italian pasta recipe they had decided on - Magnus just made the required groceries appear in his kitchen with a snap of his fingers.
But using his magic for making dinner also kept Magnus from actually cooking. With a wave of his hands, the tomatoes landed in the pot, a wooden spoon stirring the vegetables completely by itself while Magnus hopped onto the counter and poured himself a glass of wine.
“What?”, Magnus asked when he noticed Alec’s judgmental look wandering from the pots on the stove to him. He filled another glass and held it out to the shadowhunter. “That makes it so much easier.”
Alec took the wine glass, but kept a judgmental look on Magnus nonetheless. “Maybe, but that’s also cheating.”
The warlock let out an amused laugh. “Cheating? Come on, Alexander, I’m just making this much more enjoyable for both of us. No burnt stuff, no stains, no stress, just plenty of time for us to enjoy ourselves while the food is getting ready.” He reached out and pulled Alec close enough so that he could wrap his legs around the shadowhunter and steal a kiss from those pretty lips.
But Alec wasn’t done with this discussion yet, not in the slightest. “But it also makes cooking absolutely no fun. You know Magnus, there are people who actually enjoy making their food”
“Yes and you know what I enjoy? When the food is getting ready without anyone having to watch it, so I can spend more time with this insanely handsome shadowhunter right in front of me”, Magnus argued and leaned down to plant another soft kiss on Alec’s lips, lingering for a short moment in hope of Alec forgetting about the food. A plan that succeeded only partly. Just when Magnus thought he’d won Alec over, the shadowhunter pulled away and looked up to him with a smug grin on his face. “You really thought I could be distracted that easily? Come on Bane, let’s get that food ready.”
With a muffled sigh Magnus untangled his ankles from behind Alec and hopped off the counter. “Alright, if you insist. What am I supposed to do?”
_
“Now tell me that wasn’t just as easy as it would have been if I let you use your magic”, Alec said when they sat down on the living room couch after finally deciding on a movie they were both happy with.
Alec sat on the right side of the couch and Magnus flopped down right beside him. He put his bowl of steaming pasta onto the coffee table and made himself comfortable, leaning into Alec’s side and leaving the shadowhunter just enough space so he could eat his food in peace.
“Well it was definitely messier”, Magnus threw in and made Alec laugh loudly. “That barely counts as an argument, Magnus. It wasn’t my fault that the tomato sauce exploded all over your stove, I told you to watch it. Also, you didn’t have any trouble cleaning up, you just used your magic.”
“Oh yes Alexander, that was your fault. If you wouldn’t look so devastatingly cute, I would never have gotten so distracted.”, Magnus argued as he reached for the remote and turned on his TV.
“Shut up and eat your food, Bane.”
That, Magnus could do. Even though he completely failed the part about shutting up. Throughout the movie he kept commenting on the awful fashion choices for the main character, “I swear, Alexander, if I would have directed that movie, I would have kicked out the entire costume department. Seriously, look at those jeans! They do absolutely nothing for her legs”
One thing that Magnus was exceptionally good at, though, was using Alec as a pillow when watching a movie. As soon as Alec had finished his food, Magnus put their empty plates into his dishwasher with a snap of his fingers and then cuddled up into Alec’s side. He rested his head on Alec’s chest and placed his arm across Alec’s stomach (whilst totally not enjoying the feeling of those abs beneath that black t-shirt). Alec put an arm around Magnus and pulled him closer, until he had the warlock flush against his side as he quietly continued to watch the movie.
A few minutes later though, Alec found out that arguing with Magnus about which movie to watch had been a complete and utter waste of time.
With the warlock so close to his side, he could barely keep attention to whatever was happening on the screen. And frankly, he didn’t want to. Especially not when he shifted a bit to make himself more comfortable and felt the warlock’s hand tighten around the fabric of his shirt. When he looked over to Magnus, his eyes were met with a soft, fond look from the warlock’s dark eyes, making it absolutely impossible to focus on anything else. All he could do was focus on Magnus, his eyes and the slight shiver he felt running down his spine.
Apparently the warlock felt just the same because a second later, he tilted his head just a tiny bit upwards so he could catch Alec’s lips for a gentle, sweet kiss. Nothing too demanding, just the two of them, exploring whatever this in between them was. Nevertheless, the kiss got Alec’s heart beating twice as fast as usual and his breath hitching in his throat. Magnus had one hand on the side of Alec’s neck, right over his  deflect rune. Alec held the warlock by the waist, his fingers grazing over the small patch of exposed skin where the warlock’s shirt had ridden up a bit.
And when Alec let his hands wander onto Magnus’s back, pulling him closer even though there couldn’t possibly be any more space left between them, the warlock  couldn’t help but smile into the kiss.
He felt like back on that bridge in Paris all over again – his own heartbeat much faster than usually and his entire body tingling with butterflies. His smile got so big he had to pull away, only to be rewarded with the sight of Alec’s hazel eyes, shining with affection.
“You do realize you came here to watch a movie, right”, Magnus murmured as he shifted so he could put his arms around Alec’s neck.
“You do realize I couldn’t care less about that movie right now”, Alec replied and leaned in for another kiss.
That one didn’t last very long, though, because a few seconds later Magnus got distracted by a very familiar, very furry shadow hopping up into his lap and demanding attention.
Under normal circumstances Magnus enjoyed the Chairman’s company very much, but now he seriously thought about portaling him out into the street. “Go away, Chairman”, he muttered, his brow furrowed and his lips inches away from Alec’s.
But the Chairman wouldn’t be the Chairman if he followed Magnus’s orders. Instead of walking away as he’d been told, the cat just climbed over Alec and up onto the armrest, keeping the annoying meowing up.
With a deep sigh, Magnus broke away from Alec and looked at his pet. “Chairman Meow, you have a serious problem with your sense of tact.” He tried to make his voice sound strict, but somehow his cat didn’t seem impressed at all. But then again, the Chairman was hardly ever impressed by anything.
Magnus threw back his head in frustration and groaned. “I swear to god, why did I even get this cat. Shoo, Chairman! Leave!” He waved his hands at the cat in a poor attempt in shooing it away, but that attempt failed miserably. Instead, the Chairman just crawled into Alec’s lap, starting to purr loudly as soon as Alec started to scratch his head.
“Seems like he’s forgiven you for not introducing me to him earlier”, Alec stated matter-of-factly and looked over to Magnus with an amused smile.
Magnus really tried to be mad at his cat, but just as his attempts to get rid of him earlier, he failed terribly. The sight of Alec snuggling with his pet was just too heartwarming to really be mad. And so he just leaned his head on Alec’s shoulder and sighed happily.
“He’d better. I intend to keep you for a while.”
