I am about to burn my gynecologist office to the fucking ground
#everyone keeps giving me incorrect information#FOR A MONTH AND A FUCKING HALF#first they told me I needed a referral and I got the referral#then they told me the referral was done incorrectly and to call my pcp and correct it#it took my pcp a WEEK to correct even though I called every day#now with the correct referral there telling me I DIDNT FUCKING NEED ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE#and then when I called to schedule… they tell me that the referral authorization is wrong#WHYYY ARE YOU PLAYING REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH IN A STATE THAT HATES WOMEN#while making this post I was on the phone with them and had to tear them a new ass because if they had listened to me a fucking month ago#NONE OF THIS WOULDVE BEEN A FUCKING ISSUE#I hate American healthcare

GOOD NEWS! I called my insurance and they found an in-network imaging center that's 1) closer to me and 2) WILL COST HALF THE PRICE OF THE FIRST PLACE. You don't even know how much better I feel rn. I called to cancel my appointment at this other place but I had to leave a voice mail. But once that's done I can get my doctor to send the order to this other place instead 🙏🏻

Sometimes being an adult means schedule your own appointments for a surgery that you really need to get done.

wheelchairs and canes and glasses and hearing aids and every single other mobility aid should be free btw and if you disagree i hate you

finally caved and acknowledged the need for the big scary tests for my tummy so I just tried to make an appointment with the GI I’ve been recommended and the next appointment wasn’t available until DECEMBER

i've been trying to get a new doctor since at least june...
i was given a referral by the psych hospital to call X Community Health Center because they take my insurance and are taking new patients
with everything going on i wasn't able to call them until just before thanksgiving. and they told me that i had to fill out my patient forms online so they could process them before i could be seen or contacted. i did. they never contacted me.
i called them a week ago. they said i wasn't in their system. a week later they find me, say they'll finish processing my paperwork and send me an email. no email.
i call today. yes i am in the system. good. so when can i be seen?
"well what's wrong with you?" nothing's wrong with me, i just need to get a new primary care provider (pcp). "oh, we don't do that. you have to have something wrong for us to see you, and then we'll let you see a doctor, and then that doctor will assign you to another doctor.... who will become your pcp."
...but i was specifically referred here because i was told you are taking new patients. "we are taking new patients. you just have to have something wrong with you to be seen or we won't see you."
well there's nothing currently wrong with me so how would i be able to be seen....?
