Forest Keepers au <3

So, as the poll decided, you guys wanted to know more about the forest keepers au first! (Though it took me a tiny bit to get to it, my apologies)

I will put the lore and info under the cut :)

Here we go:

So this au is based in the times when witches were hunted and killed. And its also in a fantasy-ish world. There's a lot of magical stuff :)

Tsunagu is a healer who got found out to be a witch, chased out of his village and threatened.

He managed to disappear into the forest and build himself a life there, being protected by the forest and living in a small safe cottage.

As years pass, he takes to healing animals and taking them in. (he doesn't feel safe around humans but he's always happy around animals and the forest)

The animals that decided to stay with him/around the cottage are a hawk, a rabbit, a small black cat, more cats, and a few others.

What Tsunagu doesn't know is that he is actually the reincarnation of an ancient Forest Guardian/Deity - and that his magic, and ability to connect to the forest is a lot stronger than he realises.

He just thinks he is a basic little witch who is good with herbs and healing.

One day, he stumbles across an injured fox while out in the forest and immediately takes it back to help it.

The fox is hesitant at first but seems to calm down as soon as Tsunagu picks it up. Tsu heals the fox, and lets it stay for a few days.

Once the fox is healed, he leaves and Tsunagu goes back to his usual everyday life.

Then, about a month later, that fox shows up at his door with a little scarf full of herbs and special plants that Tsunagu had mentioned he couldn't get easily as they were in the village.

This becomes a routine, every month, the fox comes with special gifts. Until one time he doesn't.

Night falls and Tsunagu is worried, so he leaves and goes to try and find the fox. He sees some royal guards riding out of the forest on horses and gets even more concerned.

After hours, he gives up and goes home, only to find that his door was open (:o who could that be)

Worried about his animals, he rushes in with his knife in hand and is greeted by a silver-haired figure, who was dressed a lot like a hunter.

Cue panicked meeting and misunderstanding, while Tsunagu yells and throws objects in a panic. This is until the person hands him a little red bandana full of herbs and spices and gestures at a wound he had obtained.

Tsunagu, though now concerned his little fox was hunted, still tends to him and heals him.

Shinya is a forest spirit and a caretaker of other forest spirits. He disguises as a fox in front of humans, and travels from forest to forest, to visit other forest spirits and make sure they are okay.

He was tasked by the original forest guardian to stay a keeper of the forest, and knew Tsunagu was the one after he helped him.

So, cue like a few weeks passing and explanations being made and all that.

Shinya tells Tsunagu he must come with him on a journey to awaken his stronger forest magic, and so they head off on a lil journey!! And Tsunagu learns that he can heal forest spirits!!

They are joined by a certain band of other forest spirits- (miruko, hawks, aizawa, kuugo and uwabami) Tsunagu finds out that most of his animals were all special spirits all along and that is why they stayed with him.

Adventures and shenanigans ensue, and Tsunagu learns about his magic!!!

After they return home, Tsunagu and Shinya become the Forest Keepers that they used to be many years ago :)

And well- not much changes. They get to live a peaceful life, except now they look after the magical creatures more often and take trips to other forests every now and then!!

-some fun lil facts-

Tsunagu has so many different hats. So many. But his favourites are his lil witchy hat and his mushroom forest hat :)

His main mushroom hat actually has a tiny magical version of his forest that sits on top of it. Only the forest spirits, animals and him can see it, though.

He grows a lot of mushrooms.

There are a few other Forest Spirit Caretakers (or forest keepers), like Shinya, and they are all part of like. A small group that come together every now and then to discuss spirit and magic stuff. They are appointed in different forests around the world.

Forest Spirits come in so many different shapes and figures, some being mythical and grand, some being normal animals, and some not even being animals.

Shinya is a grey fox, and the ends of his tail and tummy have magical patterned fur that can only really be seen if you're looking for it.

(same with other spirits, they have signs that give it away)

His human form has slightly pointed ears and sharp eyes, and if he gets excited or isn't thinking, his fox ears and/or tail can pop out.

He loves mushrooms.

They have matching scarfs and Tsunagu made Shinya a special one that shrinks with his fox form.

uhh another modern au agott follow-up. They've gotten progressively sillier

“it’s just a warmup sketch,” i say to myself. “i’m just gonna warm up on shading and coloring. i’m just warming up on anatomy.” my spine crackles from sitting in shrimp stance for 2 hours. “just to warm up.”

hear me out… band au where carolina by harry styles is sinners don’t pray song about reader who one of the members hooked up with, it don’t really matter who, but they agreed to keeping it “casual” and now he’s making songs about her. do i make sense or am i crazy?

lmaoo in the context of the band dynamics i’m going for it’s even funnier 🤭 the boundaries between them are basically nonexistent, and it all started with all of them hooking up with reader separately when she had just joined the band. they all agreed to keep it casual, at the time not knowing about each other hooking up with her. then at some point, one of them (i imagine enzo tbh) writes a song about her (carolina is amazing btw, i can so see it being theirs) and presents it to the band, of course, without saying it’s about her. but as they start playing, reader’s like hmm, that’s weirdly specific. she gradually realizes what’s up, puts her guitar down and turns to them with an amused expression, pretending to be exasperated but not really. "so, which one of you did it?", and at first they’re all confused, and enzo gets flustered but tries to hide it with a cocky smirk. but then, it hits them at the same time – “what d’you mean, which?” – and that’s how they find out they all hooked up with her.

on another note, a cute af thing they do is writing a song for reader without her knowing and giving it to her as a surprise for her birthday (supermodel by måneskin, it’s so abt her). the show is going and suddenly, they stray from the setlist. reader’s confused, not knowing what’s going on as they start playing something completely unfamiliar, and they’re like “oh, just catch up”. so reader starts figuring out the chords as they go, then theo starts singing, and again, it’s weirdly specific. but now they’re all looking at her mischievously, grinning like little maniacs as the song continues. reader realizes what it is, and theo’s showing off, coming up and singing to her all the time; to the crowd, he’s pointing at her with his thumb and smirking at random lyrics (especially at ‘low-waisted pants on onlyfans, i’d pay for that’). enzo’s playing right next to her, matty’s winking at her from his podium every time she looks at him, reader’s giggling and rolling her eyes, and at the end of the song, they all hug, and it’s super cute and completely adorable. really shows reader that they care about her, that she’s their girl <3

oh, and the onlyfans lyric? she teases them with it all the time, pretending to actually consider doing it (knowing bassist!reader’s character, she would acc do it, too)

“Thanks for making dinner you guys,” Eddie murmured as he sat down in his seat at the table. He watched as Buck took Christopher’s plate and scooped a helping of pasta onto it, grabbing a piece of garlic bread from a plate Eddie hadn’t even seen, then handing it back to him. Chris thanked him happily and dug in, taking a big bite after blowing on it to cool it down a bit.

“You’re very welcome,” Buck replied, giving him a bright smile as he took Eddie’s plate next and served him. Too busy focusing on what he was doing Buck didn’t notice the soft way Eddie was looking at him, the warmth that bloomed under his skin at watching Buck take care of him.

They were quiet as they ate, too hungry to make too much conversation. Making lasagna was hard work and after Eddie’s shift really all he wanted was to soak in the presence of his two favourite people.

When they were done they took their plates to the sink and Eddie waved off Buck’s protests that he would do the dishes. “You said I could help clean up afterwards, Buck, so let me,” Eddie reminded him, chuckling when Buck just pouted at him.

“Can I go pick a movie?” Christopher asked and Eddie nodded.

“Sure, bud.”

Is there anything you wished the Show Ok. Ko Lets Be Heroes focused more on? Whether it be a character, relationship, arc, villain ect?

OH BOY THERE'S SO MUCH I WANTED TO SEE

1. FIRST OF ALL I REALLY wish they had more time to focus on the big reveal because I waited since season for them to talk about the whole POINT situation and when they finally DO reveal laserblast's identity it's completely rushed. This is such an emotional plot line for MULTIPLE characters yet we only see a fraction of it! LIKE PLEEAAAAASE I WANT TO SEE MORE OF HOW THIS AFFECTED CAROL!!! What she went through is so tragic, she lost her love, her dream, her friends, AND she had to raise the child of her dead lover alone. And yet she stayed strong through all of it and became the best mom ever. (Carol I love you plz marry me)

ALSO I WILL NEVER GET OVER THE FACT THAT WE DON'T SEE GAR'S REACTION TO THE REVEAL!! He literally blamed himself for laserblast's death, who was his teammate, his best friend's lover AND K.O's father. Just imagine how he felt like knowing K.O looked up to him as a father figure while thinking it's his fault K.O doesn't have a dad???

And also every other POINT member's lives were immensly affected by laserblast's death, like Rippy roo who dedicated years of her life trying to find a way to bring him back or Greyman trying to make a hero people could look up to or Foxtail still holding a grudge against Gar for what happened. I reaaally wanna know how they would react to knowing not only their friend is alive but he is also a successful villain.

2. Another thing I REALLY wanted to see was Rad and Dendy's relationship actually being explored! I used to think her "obsession" with Rad was nothing more than a gag but I saw that there was supposed to be an episode explaining that "she looked up to Rad because he's unashamed of who he is even though he comes from he considered as unusual family background." AND IT JUST MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!! I think that would've been an amazing way to explore both of their characters.

Also it's pretty ironic because Rad IS ashamed of who he is! Since day one he's been hiding things he loves and acting like a jerk to cover up his insecurities. I think Dendy telling him she looks up to him would've encouraged him to change the way he acts just like in the "Radical rescue" episode, when he tells K.O he doesn't want him to imitate his bad behavior.

3. Now we're getting to the REAL interesting part. BOXBOTS!!!! LISTEN I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THEM BUT I'M GONNA TRY TO MAKE IT SHORT AND UNDERSTABLE.

I REALLYYY wish we had more moments of vulnerabilty with them. Pretty much every single one of their scene is comedic and, while I do ADORE the comedy, I still wish they were taken more seriously. Like their whole situation is really tragic in many ways yet it's completely ignored. I know it's a mostly light hearted show but the boxbots are never given a genuine moment that felt like their feelings were taken seriously. It's probably just me who's wayyyy too attached to them but my favorite moments are when we get to see the more "human" side of them. Like when they act like an actual family, playing board games, having dinner together, hanging out, or bickering like siblings

I wish they explored how being robots affects them and the way everyone treats them. It's like robots are not considered like "real people" to some degree. We already know that in the okko universe being a certain species will change the way people perceive you and treat you (ie aliens and kappas) and it's shown to be a bad thing when it happens to Rad and Dendy, but when the bots are treated badly it's always seen as a joke and brushed bc you know , they're robots so who cares. There's like an implication that all robots are inherently bad because they're robots, K.O even said Mr.logic was "one of the good ones" implying he's just an exception (also it's crazy that he actually said that sentence and no one batted an eye)

And finally the ONE thing I really REEAALLYYY wanted to see more of is *drum rolls* LORD COWBOY DARRELL (who could've seen that coming)

LISTEN THERE WAS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL THERE IT ACTUALLY MAKES ME CRAZY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT I WISH I WAS EXAGGERATING!!! Like for the first time we actually see boxman suffer the consequences of his actions, his kids FINALLY stand up to him after being treated like crap 24/7 and then he's forgiven in episode two??? And we don't even see how this affects the other bots!! Like Raymond and Shannon also loved boxman but they seemingly didn't hesitate to side with Darrell over him. I wish they explored how they chose their brother over their father who they were absolutely devoted to since birth.

I was actually disappointed to see Darrell forgive him SO easily and all the character development he could've had was thrown out the window in two seconds!!!! We actually get a glimpse of Darrell's potential but it's all forgotten as soon as Boxman becomes the boss again

I loved seeing Darrell actually fight back for once because he is one of the characters who gets mistreated the MOST by the whole cast. Half of his scenes are just him getting beat up and insulted, he's always treated like an idiot or a joke character so it was incredibly satisfying to see him actually stand up for himself and take charge. Like yeah he is goofy as hell and very immature and I love that about him! But when he became Lord Cowboy Darrell we actually got to see a whole new side of him. He was cunning and smart and resourceful and it KILLS me that we never got see that side of him again. I wish people aknowledged how competent and mature he can be instead of treating him like an actual child. I actually hate how infantilized he is sometimes

Anyway I could go on and on and on forever about the boxbots but that's just a few things i wish the show focused more on, there's probably more but I can't remember them rn

the capitano breadwinner thing pluvi….i just could not picture him being okay with you leaving for long periods of time lol. plus i sort of imagine him living somewhere extremely isolated ? like a days journey into town at least. if you were a writer or an artist he’d be totally fine with that but anything that requires you to leave his home is sort of out of the question i fear

Yeah exactly exactly. It’s a classic nobility setup where u could take on the household responsibilities as the lady and manage the staff but only if u rlly want to, I think he’d actually rather u be the quiet eccentric type who largely keeps alone so preferring to write or paint or garden is the ideal for him. Also you having hobbies (and he does think of them as hobbies even if u think of them as a job) gives him more opportunity to shower u with gifts……. he just doesn’t want you out and about. Wait until he returns to take you out to that new shop with the nice paintbrushes, don’t go on your own.

47 - "I've had a terrible day at work so just kiss me"

“Ough, ai’Arm,” Tankhun laments, flinging himself onto the couch next to Arm with an exaggeratedly exhausted flourish, “if I’d known that plotting to overthrow my father would involve so much paperwork, then I never would have agreed to get involved!” 

Arm flashes him a sympathetic grimace. He holds his arm out for him and Tankhun tucks himself under it immediately, curling up at Arm’s side. 

“Give it to me. I can help you with it.” 

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Tankhun says into his shoulder, “you know no one else is permitted to touch my gel pens, and even Kinn would probably notice if the ink suddenly changed.” 

It would be hard not to notice. Tankhun’s favourite gel pen writes with a pink, glittery ink that smells like strawberries. Arm knows Kinn and Kim would not take kindly to an unauthorised addition to their scheming - even if Tankhun’s promised him that he and a few other trusted parties will be looped in on the plans eventually. 

He also knows that the real reason Tankhun doesn’t want him involved has nothing to do with access to fruit-scented gel pens. 

It’s a strangely giddy feeling, knowing that Tankhun is the one trying to protect Arm for a change. 

For weeks, Tankhun and his brothers have been meeting in secret; carefully weaving elaborate plans to remove Korn from the head of the business and outlining every possibility and consideration in painstaking detail. It would be one thing for them, as Korn’s sons, to be caught plotting treason. It would be another thing entirely for any staff who were found to be involved. 

Tankhun had been at the table the last time a bodyguard traitor had been uncovered. Arm, thankfully, had not been - but he’s heard enough whispers to know that he certainly can’t fault Tankhun for being cautious with him. 

As much as he hates the powerlessness, as much as he wants to help; he trusts Tankhun. He likes that Tankhun wants to keep him safe. Even if Tankhun would never admit the motivation aloud. 

Arm presses a gentle kiss to the top of his head. 

“You’re right, of course, Phi,” he says, and Tankhun wiggles happily against him, at being called Phi. 

It’s been a few weeks since he convinced Arm to drop the ‘Khun-nu’ when they’re alone, but Tankhun still reacts to it every time. 

“Of course I’m right,” Tankhun assures him - but then he suddenly sighs, small and spiritless; unperformative; and sags at Arm’s side. “But it was all very dramatic, today,” he says quietly, “ridiculous, really.” 

Arm hugs him tighter. “I’m sorry.” 

“Oh, it’s all been dealt with now, of course,” he waves a hand in half-hearted dismissal, “but you know how stubborn ai’Kim can get. Ugh!” 

Arm kisses his forehead. “You know, if you’re having trouble with Khun Kim-” he pauses, and Tankhun pulls back slightly to meet his eyes, “then that footage of him in the storeroom with nong Chay could always… find its way into Porsche’s possession.” 

Tankhun gasps loudly in mock affront, swatting at Arm’s chest with his oversized sleeve. 

“Ai’Arm!” he scolds, but he’s smiling, fighting back a laugh, his eyes lighting back up with his usual captivating mischief. 

“I’m terribly sorry for my insubordination, Khun-nu,” Arm says, as straight-faced and formal and faux-sombre as he can manage, and watches how Tankhun’s eyebrows raise at the return to the formal honorific, “that was a highly inappropriate suggestion. How could I possibly make up for such a transgression?” 

Tankhun titters, blushing, and pretends to consider. 

“Well,” he says, drawing out the word in his mouth, “I can perhaps think of one way you could make up for your rudeness-” he twists, throwing a leg over Arm’s lap and straddling his hips, “-and make me feel much better after my terrible, awful day.”

Arm grins up at him. 

“Really?” he ghosts his hands purposefully up Tankhun’s thighs to settle on his hips. “What way is that?” 

Tankhun pouts. “I think it should be quite obvious.” 

He draws closer, pressing their hips together, pointedly demonstrating his awakening desire and instantly discovering Arm’s own. 

Arm bites back a gasp, the sudden friction sending sparks of heat igniting under his skin, and tightens his grip on Tankhun’s hips. Holding his gaze, Arm guides him, gently, to rock down against him. 

Tankhun hisses in pleasure, his mouth falling open into a perfect, pretty ‘O’. 

“I don’t know,” Arm says, even as he rolls Tankhun’s hips down to meet his own again, “I’m going to need you to give me an order, Khun-nu.” 

Tankhun’s eyes are dark and burning. 

Slowly, intentionally, he traces his fingers up Arm’s jaw. 

“Well, nong.” he skates his fingers back, behind the shell of Arm’s ear, and carefully removes his glasses from his face. “You can start by kissing me. That’s an order.” 

All the air seems to have left Arm’s lungs. 

“Yes, Khun-nu,” he breathes, and then, obediently, he does.

can i be honest and say i have that silly feeling where i fear that chiyo isn't a fun oc anymore. logically i know that i shouldn't worry bc i have writing partners who love her and continue to interact with her, but every now and then, i think all of us get that icky thought that something we've made isn't as good as we believed. i'm having one of those days now, and that's okay!! i still won't let her go bc i love chiyo to frikkin bits :' ) she's been with me for much too long to ever truly retire her. and i'm not sure there's much of a point to this post tbh? other than to be honest about how i feel rather than choke it down like i often feel obliged to do. i think probably a lot of us do that, and we really shouldn't. not to be cheesy, but this is a community, and supporting each other, even if it's just through liking each others' posts, is kind of a big part of its existence.
