Like i'm neutral to positive on her, but the online discourse has been absolutely rancid. flipping between "Taylor Swift has never done anything wrong ever and she's a fucking genius" and "Taylor Swift is the worst lyricist of all time and also a bad person" is exhausting, so thank you for like. nuance or something lmao

not to make it serious for a sec but i genuinely think that being able to like things that are bad is really important. like I think that it's an important skill to be able to look at something and see what you personally enjoy about it and then take a step back and acknowledge that objectively it's flawed. and to also be able to acknowledge that liking something isn't necessarily an identity or a moral stance. and i think that fandom space in general could really benefit from more people taking the time to learn how to do that. it's okay to like things that are bad

childhood crushes cherrycola is the two first graders I worked with last year where the little girl left a note on the little boy’s desk saying “i like you, love (little girl’s name).”

and this year in second grade said little girl started a “question of the day” thing with me during the lull in her reading block and asked me if I had a boyfriend obviously not and she told me she had a boyfriend and i said “you do?” and she got all smiley and said “yeah!” and I said “do I know this person?” and she said “yeah.” and I said “is it (little boy’s name)?” and she was shocked that I knew and I was like “I just guessed :)”

but they’re the ones who always played together at recess and helped each other with work and their neighbor (and that her mom and the little boy’s mom and I were joking about it when they were at school for the class Halloween party). was it ever going to be a different kid

I know the show kinda wants me to dislike Shakespeare taking over and making big changes behind Anne’s back, and like yeah that’s a dick move 100% don’t get me wrong.

…but…he did give us Frankie/May, one of the best act 1 finale’s I’ve ever seen, the himbo bicon legend himself Romeo Montague, and is the reason the DuBois family band gets back together and performs Everybody, so like…I can’t be that mad about his choices tbh.

Research for Character Design: Circe

While I'm still looking into various sources and information about Circe for my final design, here we have the first doodles and drawings of my ideas for her character design!!

I wrote all the basic knowledge we have on her on a post it, and stuck it inside my notebook for reference. I also searched up Ancient Greek Hairstyles and sketched out the ones that struck me the most. Eventually I found a couple that I could combine to create the one I ended up using in the first official concept sketch that I posted a few days ago.

Next, I looked up Ancient Greek Clothing to find possible outfit ideas. It took a while to see ones that gave me Circe vibes, but I quickly drew a couple that stood out to me.

I'll continue to research more about her, and I'll keep updating y'all on the progress and show the process here until I finalize my Circe design.
