I have a maybe silly question, but uh. How do I become a more interesting person? I have a horrible habit of staying home and not going out and doing things. How do I not do that? This feels very goofy as a thing to ask, but you appear to have an interesting life, therefore making you a reliable source. Do with this what you will, and please say hi to your creatures! Here is my mischief goblin Jammer for your troubles:

It may seem backwards, but...don't try to be interesting, try to be interested.

Find things you find engaging, and then find ways to pursue them. It's best if you can find some kind of group or community that also does the thing you want to try--if you're struggling to find things you like, then just start trying things local to you. You've probably got a local birdwatching group, or a sewing circle, or a community theater, or a historical society, or a comic shop that does game nights, or a group of regulars volunteering at an animal shelter, or stained glass classes, or a makerspace, or any number of little communities that are out there. Try them! The first meeting will be the worst. And if you hate it, you don't have to keep at it, and trying will give you a fun story. Sooner or later you will land on something you like and then...keep turning up.

And if you're not finding things local and in person, then just take up whatever strikes your fancy at home. If you could be incredible at any three hobbies, what would they be? What's stopping you from starting those hobbies? You're going to fail at them when you start but you're already failing at them now by not starting, so what do you have to lose?

Here's the thing: nobody wants to talk with someone who's just singing their own victories. The best stories are the ones where we tried something new and different and silly and strange and maybe messed it up, but had fun. And the best stories are shared--ask other people about the things they're into, be interested and engaged and maybe see if they're open to teaching you a little, if their interests seem fun to you. It's not about being interesting, it's about sharing passion.

So find the things you're passionate about, and keep at them even after you've failed, and the rest will follow.

the humor. the kink. the angst. the both of them feeling ever so vaguely unworthy of the other, and marveling at not just each other, but the very fact that they are allowed to have this.

hello! hope this isnt an invasive question or anything, ive been following your art blog for a while, an i've noticed you tag your art that has "you" in it as "neptune" is that a name you went by before, or something else? :o sorry i know its a little weird to ask !! hope youre doing alright ! 🦆

so I fully realized/had a name for my transness at age 11 or so, but I didn't pick my childhood nickname of Cheye as my name until I graduated high school I believe.... i can't remember

Anyway between those 2 points I tried some names but they never felt right. But I like organization and needed a tag for my Self drawings on my art blog. I'm a pisces and the ruling planet for that sign is Neptune (along with it being one of my fave planets) so that was the tag label I use(d) for drawings of me. I didn't have to wrack my brain for several years for another name I'd actually go by, and it's also not a name/label I dislike. Neutral.

I've kept it as "neptune" instead of changing it to Cheye for the same reason that sometimes when I'll talk about scenarios with myself and OCs I'll refer to myself as smunker instead of "me" or "cheye" (even when im not talking about their fur forms)....i just think its embarrassing to "admit" or call attention to it being Me in 90% of the stuff i make LOL its more sensible to refer to myself as a character

I like your art because you take things and make them your own. Don't like a character? Make them in a way you like. Want more appreciation for a character? Draw them doing shit. Want two specific characters to kiss? You draw that!

Like, seriously. You've made me like characters in the series so much more through your art.

There's a couple things going on in the epigraph for Book 1. On one level, it's a lyric from the first muggle song I picture Draco listening to on his walkman at the end of the book, so there's a cute full-circle thing there. The second layer is the theme of change and redemption, which, in Lionheart, doesn't so much come from major moments or self-sacrifice, but from the slow, grueling, everyday work of living, and living better. It's a nice day to start again because every day is. You always have the opportunity to start making better choices, no matter what lies behind you. That's the thesis of any Draco redemption arc, right? You have to imagine that he could have chosen to be better.

And then thirdly, there's the audacity of doing a full Hogwarts canon rewrite, a good 30 years after the original books came out, millions upon millions of words of fanfic later, and basically asking everyone to read the same story they did the first time around, only different. So it's a kind of winking entreaty. It's saying to readers, many of whom are understandably wary of doing it over, zeroing out the characters to starting positions, and starting from the beginning with 11-year-olds all over again. It's going: "hey. That was fun, right? Why not do it again?"

i wanted to follow the 180 rule, vaguely: when the characters look in one direction, the character in the next cut will be looking back at them (so to speak).

the other goal was to create continuous movement throughout the edit, connecting the characters' movements from clip to clip, ie:

patrick beginning to turn away flows into the next clip, where he's facing art.

when tashi swings her racquet, hitting the ball, patrick moves his head in the next clip, again with the goal of having them face each other from cut to cut.

this was also my goal with the kisses, etc: right as patrick goes to kiss his trophy, it cuts to him kissing art's forehead, and so on.

i also wanted to edit to the beat, obviously.
