Cellbit: Ordem Paranormal 🔥
Roier: Enigma do Medo 🔥🔥🔥
In honor of today's Ordem Paranormal news, here's a little compilation of some classic "Enigma do Medo" moments with Roier and Cellbit.
#Roier#Cellbit#QSMP#Ordem Paranormal#Enigma do Medo#Paranormal Order#Cellboier#I could've subtitled this but 99% is just Roier saying ''Enigma do Medo'' or variations of it#Edited#Definitely more moments out there but these are just the ones I had readily available lol#I was going to say ''And the Spanish isn't too complex'' but that's such a wildly biased thing for me to say PFTT sorry#I don't have time or energy to transcribe this but maybe another day#Translations aren't super necessary to enjoy this video so I don't feel too guilty sharing it as is#Also holy crap that clip where Maximus is telling Roier to say ''There's enigmas'' Roier looks so frickin good#Anyways shoutout to the various Roier and Cellbit update accounts they're the only reason I have so many of these clips#Portfolio

Do you conlang? I was wondering if you had naming languages (or possibly even more developed ones) for pulling the words you use. I tried to search your blog but didn't find anything, wouldn't be surprised if the feature is just busted tho. Your worldbuilding is wonderful and I particularly enjoy the anthropological and linguistic elements.
Ok the thing is I had kind of decided I was not going to do any conlanging because I don't feel like I'm equipped to do a good job of it, like was fully like "I'm just going to do JUST enough that it doesn't fail an immediate sniff test and is more thoughtful than just keysmashing and putting in vowels". And then have kinda been conlanging anyway (though not to a very deep and serious extent. I maybe have like....an above average comprehension of how language construction works via willingness to research, but that's not saying much, also I can never remember the meanings of most linguistic terms like 'frictives' or etc off the top of my head. I'm just kinda raw dogging it with a vague conceptualization of what these things mean)
I do at least have a naming language for Wardi (and more basic rules for other established languages) but the rudimentary forms of it were devised with methods much shakier and less linguistically viable than even the most basic naming language schemes, and I only went back over it LONG after I had already made a bunch of words so there's some inconsistencies with consonant presence and usage. (This can at least be justified because it IS a language that would have a lot of loanwords and would be heavily influenced by other language groups- Burri being by far the most significant, Highland-Finnic and Yuroma-Lowlands also being large contributors)
The 'method' I used was:
-Skip basic construction elements and fully move into devising necessary name words, with at least a Vibe of what consonants are going to be common and how pronunciation works -Identify some roots out of the established words and their meanings. Establish an ongoing glossary of known roots/words. -Construct new words based in root words, or as obvious extensions/variants of established words. -Get really involved in how the literal meanings of some words might not translate properly to english, mostly use this to produce a glossary of in-universe slang. -Realize that I probably should have at least some very basic internal consistency at this point. -Google search tutorials on writing a naming language. -Reverse engineer a naming language out of established words, and ascribe all remaining inconsistencies to being loanwords or just the mysteries of life or whatever.
I do at least have some strongly established pronunciation rules and a sense of broad regional dialect/accents.
-'ai' words are almost always pronounced with a long 'aye' sound.
-There is no 'Z' or 'X' sound, a Wardi speaker pronouncing 'zebra' would go for 'tsee-brah', and would attempt 'xylophone' as 'ssye-lohp-hon'
-'V' sounds are nearly absent and occur only in loanwords, and tend to be pronounced with a 'W' sound. 'Virsum' is a Highland word (pronounced 'veer-soom') denoting ancestry, a Wardi speaker would go 'weer-sum'.
-'Ch' spellings almost always imply a soft 'chuh' sound when appearing after an E, I, or O (pelatoche= pel-ah-toh-chey), but a hard 'kh' sound after an A or U (odomache= oh-doh-mah-khe). When at the start of a word, it's usually a soft 'ch' unless followed by an 'i' sound (chin (dog) is pronounced with a hard K 'khiin', cholem (salt) is pronounced with a soft Ch 'cho-lehm')
-Western Wardin has strong Burri cultural and linguistic influence, and a distinct accent- one of the most pronounced differences is use of the ñ sound in 'nn' words. The western city of Ephennos is pronounced 'ey-fey-nyos' by most residents, the southeastern city of Erubinnos is pronounced 'eh-roo-been-nos' by most residents. Palo's surname 'Apolynnon' is pronounced 'A-puh-lee-nyon' in the Burri and western Wardi dialects (which is the 'proper' pronunciation, given that it's a Kos name), but will generally be spoken as 'Ah-poh-leen-non' in the south and east.
-R's are rolled in Highland-Finnic words. Rolling R's is common in far northern rural Wardi dialects but no others. Most urban Wardi speakers consider rolling R's sort of a hick thing, and often think it sounds stupid or at least uneducated. (Brakul's name should be pronounced with a brief rolled 'r', short 'ah' and long 'uul', but is generally being pronounced by his south-southeastern compatriots with a long unrolled 'Brah' sound).
Anyway not really a sturdy construction that will hold up to the scrutiny of someone well equipped for linguistics but not pure bullshit either.
#I actually did just make a post about this on my sideblog LOL I think in spite of my deciding not to conlang this is going to go full#full conlanging at some point#The main issue is that the narrative/dialogue is being written as an english 'translation' (IE the characters are speaking in their actual#tongues and it's being translated to english with accurate meaning but non-literal treatment)#Which you might say like 'Uh Yeah No Shit' but I think approaching it with that mindset at the forefront does have a different effect than#just fully writing in english. Like there's some mindfulness to what they actually might be saying and what literal meanings should be#retained to form a better understanding of the culture and what should be 'translated' non-literally but with accurate meaning#(And what should be not translated at all)#But yeah there's very little motivation for conlanging besides Pure Fun because VERY few Wardi words beyond animal/people/place names#will make it into the actual text. Like the only things I leave 'untranslated' are very key or untranslatable concepts that will be#better understood through implication than attempts to convey the meaning in english#Like the epithet 'ganmachen' is used to compliment positive traits associated with the ox zodiac sign or affectionately tease#negative ones. This idea can be established pretty naturally without exposition dumps because the zodiac signs are of cultural#importance and will come up frequently. The meaning can get across to the reader pretty well if properly set up.#So like leaving it as 'ganmachen' you can get 'oh this is an affectionate reference to an auspicious zodiac sign' but translating#it as the actual meaning of 'ox-faced' is inevitably going to come across as 'you look like a cow' regardless of any zodiac angle#^(pretty much retyped tags from other post)#Another aspect is there's a few characters that have Wardi as a second language and some of whom don't have a solid grasp on it#And I want to convey this in dialogue (which is being written in english) but I don't want it to just be like. Random '''broken''' english#like I want there to be an internal consistency to what parts of the language they have difficulties with (which then has implications for#how each language's grammar/conjugation/etc works). Like Brakul is fairly fluent in Wardi at the time of the story but still struggles#with some of the conjugation (which is inflectional in Wardi) especially future/preterite tense. So he'll sometimes just use the#verb unconjugated or inappropriately in present tense. Though this doesn't come across as starkly in text because it's#written in english. Like his future tense Wardi is depicted as like 'I am to talk with him later' instead of 'I'll talk with him later'#Which sounds unnatural but not like fully incorrect#But it would sound much more Off in Wardi. Spanish might be a better example like it would be like him approaching it with#'Voy a hablar con él más tarde' or maybe 'Hablo con él más tarde' instead of 'Hablaré con él más tarde'#(I THINK. I'm not a fluent spanish speaker sorry if the latter has anything wrong with it too)

Desperado made a few different tweets about Narita Ren joining HoT, some of which are pretty long. I've put them all in one post here.
"As partners and rivals working hard together, they became such an entertaining team
They developed such a good relationship, and their backstage comments went beyond expectations.
What a damn shame.
Such a half-hearted bastard.
I can see quite clearly why you're so impatient, but I'll deal with you as a member of STRONG STYLE after the Dome.
Don't underestimate us."
"I was pissed off and went back to the hotel room and drank with my senpai, but now I've cooled down a bit and thought this over.
The three of us didn't have that many chances to fight together on New Japan shows.
We won the belts, but we failed to defend them.
And after that, the timing for the three of us to challenge for them again just didn't work out.
From self-expression to pro wrestling ability, the members of our unit are absolute beasts, and there's nothing we can't do in that ring.
But also, the clumsy way that the company announced the "Reiwa Three Musketeers" and the massive expectations around it resulted in a backlash from the wrestlers in question. And then the whole situation was left awkwardly up in the air.
As for those involved:
Shota has a costume that makes him look like a star, uncontrollable backstage comments, and a Moxley-like entrance and fighting techniques, giving him a royal flush of personality.
Tsuji's next-level lucha technical abilities and all his hard work backing it up, his physical potential and his creative expressiveness, all come together to give him the voice of a champion.
But his studies under Shibata-senshu had too big an impact on him, so when he used what he'd learned under Shibata, people could only talk about him in comparison to Shibata.
Things don't change in an instant.
Especially not a person's value.
A kick that he no longer uses, by his own choice,
and shin guards that he removed as well,
and also the Cobra Twist that we thoroughly discussed the use of.
It hasn't even been a year yet.
What percentage of pro wrestling fans in Japan were able to see him in person and say "That's Narita Ren"?
It can take an entire year for a technique to be seen throughout Japan, and even then you don't know if it'll get over or not.
And that's especially true for guys like you and me, who wrestle in a straightforward and persistent style.
You lack the courage of your convictions."
"The whole reason STRONG STYLE originally began was because you were being bullied by House of Torture until me and Suzuki-san sent them scattering.
Did you already forget?
Are you stupid?"
#el desperado#ren narita#strong style#njpw#house of torture#my translation#narita ren#This took me forever to polish enough to be worth posting for two reasons -#a mahjong metaphor (I don't play mahjong) and a ghost metaphor that doesn't work in english#The gulf between 'I understand what this says' and 'I have translated this into english' can sometimes be as wide as an ocean lol#Anyway sorry for any awkward wording here but I did my best and I don't have time to fuss with it any more#And I don't think anyone else is gonna translate it so this is better than machine translated text or absolutely nothing#also I translated 地味 to straightforward here to match the word choice in one of the official interviews

it doesn't have to be that way.
okay
I need you to know that I've been thinking about this ask non-stop for the last 3 days. This song came for us all and took us under its wing. I live here. It's a gem of a song. (This reply will get very long.)
My first time hearing it was live, as it was for a bunch of us as the album release was at the beginning of the tour. To set the scene, I was obviously really excited for any new songs I'd be hearing that night, and then Russell introduced the song like this:
"This is another brand new song for any of you who feel like maybe you're not on the right course. [He pauses briefly.] It's a song that's called 'It Doesn't Have To Be That Way'."
I was already nearly in tears, and then it started:
They always said that you cannot change your mind, Do it once and you're defined, do it twice and you're divine
...
It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
Every line of the entire song hit me like a brick while also being the most comforting thing I've ever heard. It was beautiful. And coming from the guys who for over a decade have been my personal champions of "things not having to be that way", the guys who are my people, who have by their very existence been telling us all this exact message for all these years. And here it was, in words, aimed at all of us.
They always said that you need to have a plan, Doesn't matter, any plan, any plan they'll understand, It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
... They've not been known to go for songs that bring people to tears, and I'm not known to be the kind of person to listen to songs and cry. And yet here we were.
While I can write an essay on every verse, a part that's especially meaningful to me, as a queer person, as an aspec person, is this:
They always said that it must reflect your life, And incorporate your strife, maybe mentioning your wife, It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
These *are* lines that seem to reflect their life (the entire song seems to, just as it does ours), and they're all things I've always loved so much about them, things that have paved the way for all of us. But I'm going to especially highlight the "maybe mentioning your wife" line. Here we have two (likely) heterosexual men, but they don't bring their love lives to the public eye - very consciously, and by choice. What they do with their lives is all about their music. Their lives are highly meaningful, to them and to so many people, and you don't need amatonormativity or the nuclear family to have a beautifully meaningful life. They show that every day, in all they do. Their work has always attracted many queer people of all sorts for obvious reasons, and it's been so easy to find aspec people among the fans which is a real treat. While they likely both have partners, the beauty is that we don't really know. We don't know that part of their lives and we don't need to know to know them, if they're not telling us it doesn't concern us. There's a lot of people who don't understand this though, people who feel like they don't know who Sparks are as people because these people feel like in order to know who a person is, they need to know their relationship status and whether they have a family. (In reality these people are looking at the wrong things, they're trying to classify and understand life in the only way they know, and therefore they seem to be unable to see what's there.) The added beauty of all this is that it doesn't just gives Sparks some privacy, but also it creates a safe space for all of us who aren't looking to live that way, who aren't looking to build our lives around a romantic partner, for whom the ideal life isn't one where you build a family, or for whom that do wish to live that way but where it isn't the thing that defines you. You don't have to mention a partner or make your life about that. It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
And then there's those parts of the song that go,
I may be wrong, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it,
No chart-bound song, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it,
No sing along, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it
I'll pay for it
Which can be read and felt in a number of ways which all mean so much to me ... There's their own lives in it, where they've always done things their way, where people may tell them to not do things that way, and where it might not work out - I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it. Theres our lives, where we equally all make our decisions, try to just live our own ways to the best of our abilities and where we make mistakes - I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it.
And then, thirdly, to me, there's the feeling to it where they've got our backs. No chart-bound song, no sing along, that can be about an album not becoming the success it was hoped to be, but if you just look at No sing along, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it, to me there's also an aspect of not wishing it upon another - instead carrying it for you, don't sing along. (This feeling feels further supported by the ending of the song, how 'bout a drink, I'll pay for it, it's been too long, I'll pay for it, which to me reads as paying for that drink for your friend so no one has to go through it alone nor without support.)
I'll look uncool, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it
I'll look the fool, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it
I'll look too schooled, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it
I'll pay for it
The price of authenticity, the price of following your heart and your beliefs. And we all felt that.
As you can tell, this is one really really special song. It had so many of us in tears. We all spoke about it for weeks, I'm still talking about it. It's kind of like Sparks' life concepts we all already understood, that drew us here in the first place, got beautifully distilled into a song. (So much of this recent album has that quality, and it was felt all throughout the entire tour too.)
Every night Russell gave the song a slightly different introduction that hit people right in their heart. There's a quality to it performed live that makes it hit even harder than on the album. I recorded it at every show I've seen. Here's two of them:
youtube
... it especially hits hard when you're near the front, looking at these guys with your big eyes, locking eyes for a second and you know they know. (I also did a quick shot of Ron's Jordans here, seeing him wear them was always a dream of mine and here I was, stood right in front of him seeing him wear Jordans.)
youtube
#thanks again for these asks you've been sending <3#sorry it took so long to reply. this one means so much that it's hard to translate all the feelings into words#what i feel and what it means is so much more and so much bigger than I can say. but I've tried my best#it's important to me that they're both over 70 too. they don't like mentioning their age. but they're beautifully young guys.#the way they age is another 'it doesn't have to be that way'.#we go through school with the conditioning that we need to have our shit together at 20 and#there's all these beliefs in society that a life is over or stops being worth something at a certain age. it's complete bullshit#they've been going their entire lives. reinventing all the time.#when they were my age they hadn't yet made a lot of the albums that I love the most. it's never too late. You're not old. and never too old#it doesn't have to be that way. okay?#Sparks#Russell Mael#Ron Mael#Sparks (band)#it doesn't have to be that way#The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte#ask#anon#sparks ask

I wish all jujutsu kaisen fans a very media literacy and manga reread
#Shut up shut up the ending makes sense just take ur time to read and ponder it doesn't have to be explicitly held held explained to u#I won't insist that my every interpretation is 100% correct but thr beauty of story is it can mean what it needs to for readers as individua#I'm so content with the way that it ended bc yeah I have read and spun theories and reread it until it made sense#I didn't understand much the first time it always takes several reads and translations notes help a lot too#But there IS a lot of information there if you're open to finding it#Gege is rly thr best it's so unfortunate#Jujutsu kaisen fans can't read#Like are we even fans if we talk shit on the author?? I don't think you are but why read just to hate it??#Jjk ending#Jjk manga#Gege did nothing wrong#Rant#Vent#jujutsu kaisen#jjk fandom#There are things I'd never understand on my own but lovely readers do research and share what they learn about historical culture language#Context etc and idk I also get that it's hard to sort through. The majority of takes are easily debunked. But if you just. If you just read#The manga several times.... It gets better and more intense and sensical and emotional every time...#Sigh#Sorry I'm sleep deprived and sick of all the gege hate on my fyp!#It never ends I never interact I hide those posts but they still show#Which means I follow a closet hater or the algorithm sucks ass#Probably#Gege akutami#I owe u my life#This last year has been rly hard and idk how I would've survived without your work#I hope u have a good rest and recreational period for as long as u want to

i was thinking about verlaine again today and had an insanely long thought about the misunderstanding of verlaine's character and people's need to vilify him under human morality for his actions when news flash he's not human and has never considered himself to be.
he was born to be pan's personal attack dog, a thing to be commanded by trigger phrases to protect, to hurt, to kill. in the time after rimbaud saved him and gifted him his name (we'll look into that) he spiralled with the idea that he isn't human and was just a weapon waiting to be brandished. rimbaud fashioned him his hat as a way to avoid such a fate and yet still with these gifts, his name and his hat, verlaine comes to one shattering conclusion: the person he trusts will never view him as human
verlaine shot rimbaud because he didn't consider chuuya human. it solidified to verlaine that no matter what name he had, or if he wore the hat rimbaud made for him to avoid being controlled by others, he himself still was not viewed as human by him. the one total act of freewill that he decided on, which was saving chuuya and allowing him to be raised in a village away from his past so that he would never have to know it, was denied because chuuya, and then by extension verlaine himself, would never be viewed as human by the person he trusted the most
rimbaud remained his one fine string attaching him to the humanity he had built for himself and it all came crumbling away when he had to 'betray him', even though in his eyes rimbaud had deceived and betrayed him first. you think back to his removal of the flags from chuuya's life and he thinks he's sparing him this same fate, detaching him from his feeble grip on the people who will never view him as human, but he didn't know that they had never viewed chuuya as anything but
it's like that meme that goes i'm sorry my love language is acts of service and all i know how to do is kill people
but it's actually so upsetting
#sorry i could talk about verlaine for hours#you simply cant hold him to human moral standards#because they don't exist to him#he isn't human#he bleeds and he feels but he isn't human#he's an experiment. a number gifted a name. a weapon fashioned for one purpose and he falls back to that each time#you think about the fact he watched chuuya in the pm for quite some time and then you think about the fact he would#have seen that dazai's touch could nullify chuuya's ability and his singularity#which to verlaine translates as an IMPOSSIBLY HUMAN CONNECTION that he himself craves#which in my opinion and my portrayal is what leads him to inputting the sequence into his commands that#allows chuuya's touch alone to close his gate. because verlaine aches for that human connection that is saving someone#without having something to gain in the act

Wait okay I need someone with more fluency in Japanese than me to weigh in on what I'm seeing here:
This is a word from a speech bubble on the lady Archiviste page of the VnC 58 teaser. The kanji there is the word "story," but the furigana spells out "world." It reads to me like she's simultaneously saying something like "the stories we've seen" and "the worlds we've seen."
Am I reading this right? Is there, like, cultural and linguistic context for this that I'm missing? Is this a pre-existing play on words? Or am I right that this is kind of implying that the speaker is equates the ideas of "story" and "world?"
I'll put the full page under the cut in case the context makes a difference.
#this immediately set my alarm bells off#I *think* I understand what she's going for here#but I'm always incredibly hesitant to base meta on japanese text without asking for clarification first#bc my understanding of the language is. rough at the best of times.#as evidenced by the fact that the last time I asked for a fact check like this. my translation was wrong#vnc#vanitas no carte#<<main tagging so people see it and can help me <3#no alt text this time because. like. furigana#I'm sorry I don't have the brain cells right now to think of how to wrangle furigana into an english screenreader friendly format#not described#translation
