Ok, Rosie headcanon for you!! Might be a slight AU but whatever lol

I like to imagine that Rosie is actually REALLY old. Died in the 1400s or something (maybe for being a suspected witch 👀) , and she just sort of kept up with the times until she found a period that suited her (getting there on that). This also ties into Cannibal Town/Colony name thing!!

Idk how much you know about American history (I know if I didn't live in this crazy country I'd know nothing by choice lol), but in the late 1500s Roanoke Colony was established where North Carolina is now. They struggled with supplies and relations with native people so the founder left to get supplies/help etc; when he came back 5 years later everyone had disappeared without a trace, no graves, bodies, only the word "CROATOAN" carved into a rock. It's a mystery nobody has solved since.

BUT.

WHAT IF.

They ran out of resources, right? What if food ran so low that people began to resort to cannibalism? And things were going so badly that some desperate person tried to summon a demon, anything to help them?

And Rosie, twisted and dark as she may be, took her own sort of sympathy on the poor, struggling colony of Roanoke, and took them all down to Hell as her own colony of souls: Cannibal Colony, leaving Roanoke empty without a trace of its inhabitants. From then on, she just sort of adopted any cannibals who fell into hell as part of her little town, so long as they assimilated and didn't cause trouble. She owns all their souls, yes, but they have some level of peace and security knowing she'll take care of them.

With the "updating culture" thing, I also headcanon that she liked to keep up with the times and stay current until sometime after slavery ended, a little before Alastor arrived (depression era) she didn't like where modern times were headed and just sort of...stopped progress, like a time capsule. Modern times started progressing too fast, and she didn't want everything to be forgotten in the rush to the future, especially the way the human world was looking with the depression. She did rename them to Cannibal Town eventually, since it was more than just her original Colony that gave her Overlord status.

oH WOW! This is really damn good and interesting headcanon! You almost convinced me to change mine to this (well, i like the idea of Rosie being SUSPECTED witch gshssh angssssst yessss). I realized that actually I don't have much that keeps me from just accepting this. Only 2 things

one is that she in her life was fighting for women's rights, and keeps doing it in hell, but i guess she still can even being older.

second one is more important. Rosie and Alastor are roughly same age (30-40 age gap is nothing in hell, were age gaps can be thousands of years) and this is one of the reasons they get along, i think.

Plus in my plot Rosie being a relatively young overlord plays significant role...

But as i said, you headcanon really cool! Maybe i'd use it for some new AU haha

Thanks for your response to that other anon about Tommy; you’re totally right. I also was intrigued, even liked him and Buck after their first kiss. What ppl, who seem to have never watched good tv in their lives, don't seem to understand is that there is a way to write a story, and 911 not only screwed up spectacularly with Buck and Eddie's storylines, but they managed to make it clear from the get go that any LI to come along would be written just bad enough for it to be clear that they are not lasting.

Even furious, Eddie never walked away from Buck. Even when Buck was an asshole in 2x01, Eddie stood his ground and insisted they sort it through making it clear that they are on the same side, that he cares about him and wanting to be his friend. - His partner, a team.

Tommy, like all his predecessors, walked away as soon as something didn't fit his little comfort zone. Tommy walked away on that first date, he didn't contact Buck after that, Buck had to make contact and apologize for not being comfortable on his first date with a guy, like how messed up is that?

And Tommy's little acid retort in front of Eddie in the restaurant before that? From the side it's hilarious for someone who was never in that position. It was mean and uncalled for, but not exactly a surprise because T was never much of am understanding person, he was pretty much an ass from the get go in S2, only difference now is that he is out of the closet.

I actually liked Taylor for Buck in S2, I think Lucy could have been perfect for him in S5, but the writers made sure to smear their characters in the eyes of the GA from the beginning, thus ending up with another failed relationship, while Buck's relationship with Eddie thrives from one episode to another for the last 7 seasons. One has to wonder about that even if they don't ship buddie.

Same pattern here with T. I was prepared to like him with Buck, I was prepared to see Buck making his way out of the closet with someone who would make him feel safe to do it, not kiss him unprepared under the pretense of coming originally on Eddie's behalf. Not that crap show that was that restaurant date. Not Buck apologizing after feeling insecure and exposed in public for the first time out of the closet and so many other things. - I'm getting the same vibes as Taylor looking through her phone in disinterest in 4x11 as Buck recites some google fact.

I have, on screen and in RL, I grew up with lovely lgbtq+ friends from childhood, it's not all that. When my gay best friend dated someone who didn't treat him right, I told him to get rid of him. I don't know if you know or even care judging by your heartless attitude and those of the anons baiting, but Grace has been discharged from the hospital. She just needed a few stitches. Her brother has said Grace is actually not meant to be on social media as it's hugely triggering for her, plus she has a history of making posts that spark harassment etc because her takes are seen as discriminatory etc. He thought it was the same old situation again and doesn't get the whole plagarism thing. I messaged him the screencaps Grace took of her post and yours and he thought she had written both posts which says it all. He's not really interested in that tbh. However he has contacted law enforcement for advice regarding the harassment claims - they have seen the screencaps of everything but the fact Grace deleted her blog has caused hassle. Without an actual account to trace the IPs then it gets complicated. They recommend getting legal representation in the meantime and to contact Tumblr directly. Grace's injuries have been photographed and filed, so has the whole plagarism thing as background but they're not really interested in that either. It's more about the threats. I don't know if you were involved but apparently the officer said they have to have actual evidence in terms of the original situation motivating a backlash from your followers. But it's sketchy and we can't make unproven allegations. He said so far there's no actual proof online of you goading people to go after Grace. Your responses are not enough to indicate this. If the case goes ahead and they uncover evidence, then yes, they will then act. Tbh, they're not really being helpful with this as they are implying it's a waste of their time and resources. The officer admitted that your post was probably plagarised but that's it.

Sirius is definitely multilingual. Maybe because he was raised bilingual, maybe because he just likes learning languages - but he speaks five fluent and understands 2 more.

James only speaks english though he tried learning Punjabi from his mom when he was older.

They have a cat named Twister, at least one dog (Snuffles) and probably an assortment of rescued magical creatures.

When you think of Jon suffering wet cat Sims the immediate assumption is that he'd be Omega or something, but thinking of his Season 5 persona I entertained the idea of him being an Alpha. Jon could be an Alpha right? He's not the most dominating person in the room but he can get very protective (and Jon with power is very sexy). Then I thought of the fundamental elements of an Alpha which are protectiveness and high level of possessiveness........which is when it hit me.

Martin Blackwood is totally an Alpha. 💀🤣 (Another win for Martin). I don't think there's anyone more possessive in the show besides Elias and Elias is a whole different brand of crazy. Martin seems like a sweet, harmless guy until you start stepping on his toes and he smacks the living daylights out of the aggressor with pure unrefined loathing - Just not easily noticeable cause he doesn't get violent but he makes sure his enemies get fucked up.

So Martin is definitely an Alpha. He gives the vibes of ensuring his mate will never lack, making sure they feel safe when they're nesting and never letting any harm come near their territory. Which raises the question....is Jon his omega then? I think not. Jon seems more like a Beta to me.

Jon: A Beta? That's the most ordinary creature in the whole verse.

Well, Mr. Sims you ARE basic. 😂 You're just a basic guy with super powers. I can't for the life of me picture Jon nurturing anything. He's not even very good at looking after himself and nearly everything he tries to protect crumbles away. He's a very tragic character, with not a lot of self esteem and he masks this by being sassy and sarcastic cause he doesn't want people to see how fragile he actually is. Jon's Beta to me and it feels fitting for him and Martin. Jon would probably try masking as an Alpha and Martin an Omega but the truth about each other would come out and Martin wouldn't care less. He loves his tiny hopeless Beta.

That being said, most of the others in TMA strike me as Alpha Alpha.

LonelyEyes aka Peter and Elias - Alpha/Alpha with Peter being possessive of his alone time and Elias being possessive over his control of Peter. (It would be funny if Peter was Omega though cause everyone would assume Elias the Omega.).

Daisira aka Daisy and Basira - Alpha/Alpha. Look Daisy's Alpha, there's no two ways about that. Maybe Basira is Beta but she strikes me as Alpha as well and they work well as partners.

Melanie x Georgie (can't remember their ship name) - Alpha/Omega....maybe Georgie is really flowery and soothing so she could easily be an Omega with her nurture of the Admiral. She could also be a very kind Alpha to her violent chaotic Omega Melanie. It could go either way.

TimSasha - Alpha/Alpha and I love them so much. ♥️❤️ Sasha just strikes me as Alpha. She would have been archivist if not for Elias' plans and Tim is either an Alpha or a chaotic Omega in disguise.

GerryMichael aka DoorKeay - I've only recently heard about this ship but it's kind of cute. Omega/Omega....cause I think it'd be funny. Obviously the Distortion isn't an Omega, the Distortion wasn't anything but I imagine after getting redefined as Michael it wakes an Omega and it is not happy about it. Gerry is not an obvious Omega and everyone assumes he's Alpha. Little did they know. I like the awkward story of two fakers (because the Distortion would definitely try to hide it's identity) slowly realising and still loving each other cause why not. They're also likely faking to be Beta cause one thing they wanted most in the world was to be ordinary.

Agnes x Jack - Alpha/Beta and this one doesn't even need an explanation.

Agnes x Gertrude - Alpha/Alpha, would be a fun dynamic watching these two growl at each other from the same side of the spectrum.

LonelyEyeSkies aka PeterxEliasxSimon - Alpha/Alpha/Alpha chaos. Lovers of this ship just enjoy watching things crash to the ground and I can't blame them cause I love it too. (Would still be funny if Peter was an Omega. Though Peter wouldn't find it funny at all).

JonMichael - Beta/Omega, but to no one's surprise, Michael's the one dictating everything about this relationship. Jon is shocked to find himself building a nest cause that's how dominant Michael's gonna be.

JonTim - Beta/Alpha and I'm guessing Tim would be a passive aggressive Alpha. This will either go really well or it will be a toxic dumpster fire.

Mostly: Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek Voyager, Stargate SG-1, and recently added X-Files. I have also written a handful of things for The Rookie, I once wrote a gazillion things for Castle and Bones, and I've written for Due South, Cupid, Agent Carter, etc. It's a crazy quilt of "they're pretty; they should kiss."

Yes! I try to. Sometimes I'm slow, sometimes I miss one, but I try to respond.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmm. I don't do a lot of sad stuff, I guess? I guess I see the end of fall in place as angsty, just because it's in line with the real end of the season (John and Monica are on the run, with everything they had now long gone).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Uhhhhh. Maybe The Woman in the Snow? "And then I fixed it and they got to be happy, finally, unlike canon. The end."

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. Many moons ago, I got some rude comments on Castle fic, but that was a long time back, and it wasn't bad. So not really.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have, but I rarely do anymore. For me it has to be part of a larger romance; I really can't do pwp. I much prefer a tasteful fade-to-black which means I don't have to keep calculating bare skin and body parts 😂

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not often, but I did write one: Stolen Sky, a Castle/Firefly crossover. iirc, it was the first, or maybe one of the first, Mal/Kate stories? It did pretty well, and it was funny reading comments that said "I only watched one of these shows, and this fic convinced me to watch the other one, too." It was originally posted on ffnet; I have since transferred it to AO3.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes! Only once that I know of. It was a (not very good) (since deleted) Bones fic that got stolen in its entirety; all the thief did was change character names. I reported it, and it was taken down.

I have! It was very flattering.

Yes! I co-wrote Castle fics with chezchuckles, Cartographicals, sandianecarter, and shimmeryshine back in the day. It was a DELIGHT. I would love to do it again!! (looking at you, @mylittleredgirl 😜)

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I honestly don't know if I could pick just one. John/Elizabeth from Stargate Atlantis, Janeway/Chakotay from Voyager, John/Monica from X-Files, and Castle/Beckett are all up there. It rotates based on what I'm watching at any given time.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have this wonderful giant Voyager "missed connection" fic in my brain, where KJ and Chakotay belatedly realize they met at the Academy and fell a little bit in love in just one silly, lighthearted, adventurous evening of running around San Francisco together. I have a very long, detailed outline for it; we'll see if I ever tackle it for real.

16. What are your writing strengths?

@mylittleredgirl would say fluff, and I don't disagree. I love characters bantering, I love teasing, I love when they're kind and heartfelt to each other. I think I'm good at little moments like that.

UPDATE: LR has reported that my strength is, in fact, "FEELINGS."

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I do not enjoy writing smut; sometimes it's good for the story, but I do not like writing it and I don't think I'm particularly good at it. I have trouble fleshing a thing out from first idea to polished product. Physical accounts of action baffle me sometimes. Also, I often find it hard to come up with convincing conflict. I'm fluffy at heart, I guess.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It can be effective, I guess? But there's usually a way around it if necessary. I haven't really had to deal with it, so I don't have strong feelings about it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Oh shit, I think this was Numb3rs. It was a really fun crime show on CBS featuring a mathematician who did Big Complicated Math to help the FBI solve crimes. I wrote a bunch of fics for it, they were all absolutely terrible, and yes, I have long since deleted them.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Letters From War, a Voyager fic where KJ and Chakotay keep in correspondence with each other through the Dominion War. It's the sequel to By Firelight, but took a long, long time to put together, and once a few conversations and ideas clicked into place, it felt like it all came together. I was happy with how it turned out.

I have thought about doing chefkissshipping (Crispin/Lacey). I always thought they had a cute dynamic and would need to think about how to write it & how I'd want to execute it in the context of this oneshot series. But like, it's kinda perfect for them. 👀

Hey there

I saw your post about Cornelius and Franny and your perspective on their relationship, and I just want to say that I think it's really interesting (in a good way!) that you don't necessarily care for them as a couple.

What I really love about Meet the Robinsons is that it's a lot of people's comfort movie for a whole plethora of reasons, and those aren't going to be the same for everyone. I love it because Lewis finally gets adopted by people who accept him for who he is at the end, and that's something I desperately wanted as a kid and never really got.

I also know a lot of people see a little bit of themselves in Lewis, and that's the character that they most relate to.

For me, Franny and Cornelius are my comfort ship because I just love the idea that they were really close best friends who just kind of fell in love and get married and live happily ever after. But I know not everyone is going to see that, and it's totally okay!

I actually really love your headcanon of them being best friends with benefits, at least in an AU ☺️ I just love imagining their friendship, even without any romantic aspects. It's okay not to ship them, there's not law that says you have to. Like I know a lot of people who think Benedict Cucumber (I can't spell his last name lol) is the sexiest man alive, but I genuinely don't see it. 🤨

I also want to say that, as someone with a kid who never listens, I can understand their frustration with Wilbur. I think Cornelius is just tired of his kid's shit since he's probably told him a trillion times not to touch his inventions 😅 But I understand that it's triggering to see stuff like that, especially in a movie that's all about acceptance and I hate that those aspects make it difficult to watch.

Anyway, I know this was really long and kinda came out of the blue, and I hope this doesn't come across in a negative way. Your artwork showing their relationship in a different light as well as your AUs is really sweet, and I hope you never lose your spark.

Hey, thanks. I needed this. Sometimes I look at what other people are doing within this fandom and I feel like the odd one out because my headcanons all lead towards the dark and triggering side of things due to my own trauma. Then again... when am I not the odd one out? Heh heh heh.

On the topic of people seeing themselves in Lewis... He was actually me as a kid. Down to the leading with anger as an emotion because I was autistic and nobody taught me how to regulate mine. Dude, I even related to the parts in the montage where he was up teaching the class. I did that too, because I was reading middle school level chapter books when I was six.

Lewis' safe spot seemed to be the roof, and I related to that for... obvious reasons, if you saw my previous art post. That's why I developed the headcanon he thought about jumping off that roof a couple times. Some people may ask what the hell is wrong with me, but who are you to judge how I cope with my trauma? If that means making a fictional character suicidal, then all you gotta do is leave it alone. It doesn't affect your life in any way. Just mine.

Anyway, I'm happy to know someone likes my interpretation of their relationship. I'm definitely gonna do more with them, I already have some ideas I might spring for. I was originally gonna do "Ask Agoraphobic Lewis" as my new ask blog, but now I'm thinking I might do "Ask Bestie Lewis and Franny." We'll see on that one, heh heh.

Hyde was my favorite pairing for Jackie on the show, and I think they had a lot of (wasted) potential. I do not think the writers did them justice/they got a satisfying resolution to their storyline, and that is why they've resonated with such a significant portion of the fanbase. That's not the controversial part (😂). The controversial part is that I don't think Jackie and Hyde were ultimately meant to be endgame in the That '70s verse. Their relationship was riddled with trust & communication issues from the start, they had differing priorities for their future, and ultimately I do think that Jackie never resolved her feelings for Kelso. Sorry. Please don't throw garbage at me (/Pam Beesly)

I am not interested in reading stories that are driven by OC's (original characters), and I skip over those works altogether. OC's are almost always a self-insert (a way for the author to put themselves into the show's universe) and that's just not interesting to me/not why I engage with fan fiction. I have a whole stack of novels next to my bed that I pick up if I am interested in reading fiction about original characters. (That said - I do not begrudge anyone their right to engage with the fandom/fan fiction however they want to! I'm a big believer that the internet is big enough for everyone. If it's not for me, I just scroll on by.)

The name Leia has grown on me. 🤷‍♀️

Eric loving Star Wars is such an integral part of his character throughout the entire series, and of freaking course he would find a way to incorporate that into his future career in some way if he could. I enjoy the detail about him teaching a class on Star Wars in That '90s Show and find it to be very in-character.

Canon is what happened on the show/in the source material. It's simply the material the writers/showrunners/creators made for the characters. One doesn't have to like canon, or agree with it. That's kind of the whole reason fan fiction exists! But canon is canon, and it's very straight forward/there's no merit there to me about throwing out parts of the show that one doesn't like/"this isn't canon to me" doesn't make sense. In long-running fandoms like T70S, it's really just a label or a way to keep ideas organized. Because who doesn't enjoy a good canon-divergent fic? I know I do.

Kitty was not a Pollyanna, and I disagree with stories or analysis that paint her as such. She loved her kids more than anything - but she could also frequently be temperamental with them, yelled, called names, made questionable parenting moves, etc. One of my all time favorite lines from her is, "You know I love my family, but sometimes I just want to get in the car and run them all over!" Because same, Kitty. Same. 😂

I like Ozzie. He consistently made me laugh out loud on T90S, and given the short season/time constraints I actually thought his character was given a fair bit of depth (his coming-out storyline and how it helped him and Leia grow closer/closer to the Forman's in general). The ‘why is there a gay Asian kid in the ‘90s???’ criticism just... doesn’t ring true to me, as someone who grew up in the ‘90s with gay friends and is familiar with the Milwaukee-area. I would like to see more nuance given to his storylines next season (particularly around his sexuality), but I'd say that about each of the T90S characters.

Jackie and Eric are my NOTP. They are the ultimate ick for me, and I just cannot ever see it working under any circumstance. Donna/Hyde are more palatable - and that is saying something (because hell no, I do not ship Donna/Hyde!).

I think those are the main ones. 😅

Your How Far We Will Take It/Ianthony analysis is beautiful and it fits so well! I haven't listened to How Far We Will Take It since it came out so I forgot how emotional it makes me and listening to it while reading your analysis had me crying. I also love the way you write!!

If it's cool to add on, I see Let Me Drown fitting the bittersweet breakup (shipping glasses off, I'm using breakup because I think it fits best). I see it mostly from Anthony's perspective but parts could definitely be Ian/both of them. I don't have time to fully write it out but these are the lines that I see fitting with what we know about the end of Ian and Anthony and the breakup, mostly thinking about the Ian reading my diary video and I spent a day with Ian

Good time to bring out this meme again

I can definitely see the Anthony parallels! Even if they never had any outright nasty or mean things they said to one another, there was a lack of grace and trust Anthony had for Ian.

Partially it seems cuz the way they both expressed their feelings got lost in translation since Anthony seems to seek out more explicit confirmation of feelings and Ian, back in the day and somewhat now, seems to express himself more through actions. But more related to this that their friendship had deteriorated so much, there was less willingness to give the other the benefit of the doubt. Anthony felt like Ian was being mean in places where there was no malicious intent and not to mention the passive aggressiveness they both mentioned they had. They didn't treat each other with the care a long-term relationship (platonic or romantic) needs.

Feeling like Ian was lost to him and only being able to assume the worst of what he could be feeling towards Anthony, you see this in his letter and how it colored his interactions with Ian.

Also in addition with the "losing my mind", Anthony has literally said how being in the Defy era made him feel like he was going insane so just continuing to describe the pressure cooker he felt like he was in. Not to mention the mental health issues he's talked about going through at that time.

"And I still keep on searching for what I can't find/Let me drown."

This feels like Anthony searching for reasons to stay, searching for understanding of their relationship in 2017, and trying to break through in a way that felt reciprocated. This being in his attempts to open up in NYC but them not understanding what the other wanted still (Ian feeling guarded and thrown off by Anthony opening up and Anthony feeling frustrated when he expected Ian to open up to him in exchange).

As well, I feel like it shows in his efforts to decode Ian in many cases. While I think these conclusions were biased against Ian by the lack of emotional maturity (going as far to think of Ian as a bad person since it was easier than fully unpacking the complex nature of what they both did/didn't do for each other), I think it still showed a level of care and trying on Anthony's part that he was searching for answers in Ian's actions. He even said he was creating "narratives and ideas", becoming a "conspiracy theorist about where [Ian's] brain was." in the letter video.

"I swear there's good things that are coming your way/And I can't be the one left here dragging you down"

Now granted, I feel like Anthony's departure was largely for self-preservation. As it should! Fans give him flack for leaving but if a personal friend of mine told me about the creative restrictions, manipulation of their creative IP was being done, and generally being overworked, I would be telling them up and down to quit. Yes, thankfully it evolved into the amazing Smosh/Mythical era but it was a long few years before that happened. The aspect of "can't be the one left here dragging you down" can also be in the way Anthony felt so creatively checked out, it just made sense to step away in his mind. Like this is gonna happen no matter what, no sense in slowing it down on my behalf.

However, I feel like this echos the aspect of keeping an eye on each other's content throughout the years and while I know Anthony had said for a while, he wished Defy-Era Smosh would be gone, I don't think they ever wished ill on one another. I think they both hoped for good things and it feels similar to that sad friendship-breakup vibe of "goodbye, I hope you get everything you deserve"

This line feels like his struggles at first to have his own identity outside of Smosh. That concern that he would always be defined, understood, and liked in his relationship to Smosh. Who was Anthony outside of it, and it was a real question of how he was going to define himself.

"And then suddenly we're writing out the same old lie"

All those years of pretending they were on good terms when they were barely even texting each other. Keeping a happy face as they both emphasized that there wasn't any bad blood between them and they were still on good terms. In particular, "I'm leaving Smosh, I'm not leaving Ian." being a sentiment that probably stood out as lie that stung as Ian realized that Anthony had shut the door on any chance of collaborating.

"I know with pleasure comes pain/I figured we were the same/But as I get older I get more afraid"

Like this screams both of them just reflecting on the pain that came with the absolute amazing ride that is Smosh in their lives. It brought them so much but it cost them so much for years. For so long, it felt like they were this united force, the best friends everyone wanted to have.

Then, both of them finding themselves as the heads of their own respective companies, in the unsteady arena that is internet fame, with people looking to them for guidance but no other partner on their level. As much as both of them get along with and joke around with their cast/crew, there's always the disconnect of being the boss.

They're older, they're internet legends, they're bigger than a majority of the people on the platform in terms of notoriety and longevity, but alone.

"And this town just ain't big enough for the both of us now/Let me drown"

This is what gets me about their friendship break up. It didn't happen with a fight or any one catalyst but almost by pure logic.

Why stay when you're unhappy? Why ask him to stay when you haven't been creative partners in years? Why continue to be friends when Anthony felt for a time that he would only continue to get his feelings hurt by Ian? Why should Ian keep reaching out to collaborate when Anthony makes it very clear he's shutting himself off?

It's just the logical, cold conclusion of this isn't a place for me anymore. And even when you cut the cord yourself and leave on your own terms, it still hurts, still feels like drowning.
