you may be feeling very impatient, resentful, or otherwise frustrated over your shifting journey right now. I want to take a moment to validate those feelings for you. you may be feeling doubt in either yourself or shifting as a whole. the best thing for you to do is remember all of the things you believe in, that you have not or cannot physically see, experience, or feel. do you believe in a higher power? ghosts? do you believe in the validity of science despite not being able to do the experiments yourself? approach shifting in that way — it's a fact of life even if you have not personally experienced it yet.

you're likely needing to reassess your shifting approach. it's funny, I'm playing music to give you some channelled songs at the end of your reading, and as I wrote that sentence, surrender by natalie taylor began.

Whenever you're ready, whenever you're ready Can we, can we surrender?

that's how you have to reassess shifting — you need to learn how to let go, not just of expectation, but to let go of attempting and accepting the fact that you're already in your DR. you might find my post about accidentally grounding yourself to this reality by trying too hard, which you can read here.

in your past, you've experienced a great deal of pain and/or betrayal, possibly by someone you put a lot of love and trust into, or perhaps you feel betrayed by the universe itself. it's time to heal from this rather than holding onto it. I'm reminded of a time that my friend re-read her diary entries from a very traumatic time in order to re-traumatize herself and dwell on her hurt feelings — you might be prone to doing the same. rehashing the same pain, or reanalyzing the same traumatic scenario to find more things to blame yourself for or be angry about isn't how you heal and move on from an experience. instead, try identifying triggers and gain the strength to set boundaries surrounding them.

don't let the trauma from past relationships hold you back from giving or receiving love. by merit of being alive, you deserve love and compassion. you've experienced poor treatment, now make note of the things you cannot and will not accept anymore. anyone who cannot meet or accept that aren't worth your time.

the most important person to love in this world is yourself. even when you are being undervalued and unappreciated, you must find joy and love in yourself. it may seem impossible, but you can even trick yourself into loving yourself. I know because I did it.

have you ever done something ironically — said a phrase or made fun of a silly song or action with your friends, only to be horrified when it manages to become a genuine part of your personality and routine? your brain can't differentiate when you're doing something ironically versus legitimately, it's why so many actors experience emotional trauma while filming — their brain and body only know they're doing the thing, so it must be intentional.

whenever you have a negative thought about yourself or about shifting, I want you to actively combat that with a positive one. I'm so ugly turns into I'm so gorgeous, and over time your brain will realign with this way of thinking. best part? it's actually a way to manifest!

the 6 of swords to me is the reality shifting card, so when it shows up in reverse like it does in your pile, it means there's something keeping you from shifting. it's you.

remember, you cannot swim with stones in your pocket. you must release — as in, heal from — your "baggage" in order to shift. the pain and doubt you're experiencing is anchoring you to your current reality, your current state of mind. free yourself, because only you have the power to do so, even in as small of an action as asking for help.

you may be worried about getting into a situation where someone uses you or lies to you again. don't worry about that. the people that would do that to you aren't worth keeping around. whenever someone does something you can't get past, it's spirit way of saying "this person is not for you or in your best interest." let it's not u it's me by bea miller and 6lack be your new personal anthem.

two of the oracle cards you got were reframe and receive, which just confirms what I've already said. in order to receive your manifestations and your desired reality, you've got to release all that holds you back. when you do, you'll get what you desire.

focus on yourself rather than the actions of others. have you ever heard of the "let them" theory? essentially, you let people do what they want to do, you don't control them. if someone wants to fuck up, do something stupid or mean, that's their prerogative. sometimes the only way people can learn is through experiencing things themself. let them burn their hand on the stove, they'll know better than to touch it next time. and if their actions impact you negatively, set a boundary and hold up to it.

finally, determination and hard work makes things happen. it's not going to be easy to reframe your mind, to let go of the need to control others (as seen as excessively worrying about the potential actions of others), but once you do, you'll be shocked at the joy you have in life and the abundance that comes your way.

you may be guarding yourself as a form of self-protection — you can't get hurt if you don't let anything in, right? but this is only hurting you in the long run. you cannot live if you are hiding yourself away. people and life itself may hurt you, but all will be well if you take care of yourself.

putting up excessive walls may feel like safety, but in actuality it's another form of self-harm in my opinion. how can you ever experience the good in life if you block yourself from receiving it? you might be seeing shifting as a way to experience such things like love or friendships without having to compromise your internal Jericho, but the truth is, life in DRs is just as real and complicated and messy as it is in this reality, so you'll feel tempted to build those same walls up in any reality you go to if you don't heal past the thought of needing them.

you are not powerless in this — you have the ability to free yourself. you don't need walls, you need standards.

you may be the type of person who's constantly inspired into making new DRs, or coming up with new things to do in them, having new scenarios with your comfort characters. in truth, this is doing more harm than good at this point. one of the oracle cards you got tells me that you're spending too much time thinking of living in your DR rather than actually trying to experience it. your eagerness to explore is cute and endearing, but ultimately it's making your brain and your emotional-quota turn to mush before you even get there! life is meant to surprise you, so don't ruin the experience by trying to foresee every little thing. that includes constantly checking in with tarot readings or other divination practices. it's definitely tempting — borderline addicting — to get channelled messages, letters, and readings from people in your DR, but if you're constantly focusing on getting something in THIS reality, how can you shift to another one? don't let the instant gratification of divination distract you from your ultimate goal of shifting. you can still feel that deep emotional bond to your DR, the people in it, your s/os without having to hear from them in this reality. lean into the bond to get to your DR. let your excitement to see them outweigh your excitement to hear from them.

overusing and overfocusing on divination is causing a lot of conflict in you, or you may be having conflict in general. I've already spoken about how confusing shifting to interact with your DR loved ones versus using divination to can negatively impact your journey, so let's focus more on general conflict surrounding shifting.

you may be the type of person who feels the need to heavily defend shifting from anti-shifters, or your own personal beliefs from others. you might feel especially demotivated when someone disagrees with you or feel viscerally angry when someone says something outlandish. you'd benefit from reading my post about the "let them" theory here. you've got to learn to brush off the things that don't matter. someone not believing you, or in shifting? let them. it doesn't matter because YOU know the truth. YOU've seen the light. let them miss out on all the fun. don't sweat off your back trying to convince someone who doesn't want to be helped. if you're anything like me, you might be very competitive (hello my fellow Aries placements!). instead of bringing conflict into your life by arguing, choose to channel that passion and energy into (internally) proving them wrong. you don't need to share your experiences or your success to win over someone. sometimes the best and most fulfilling moves are made in silence. pick your fights wisely.

now that we've talked about focusing on your DR, let's talk about how. you've come a long way in life and in your journey. you're likely a much better person than you were before you learned about shifting. your life may look entirely different than it did previously. take a moment to feel gratitude for all that's happened and how far you've come. even the smallest wins are still wins. minishifted? that's still a shift! appreciate what you have and more will naturally come in. if you focus on how or what you lack, you'll only be bringing that in. instead, think of all the good shifting has done for you, all the good you'll experience in your DRs, all the love you feel for the people there and all the love they feel for you. you've earned the right to be proud of yourself, now feel it.

your pile is the only one to have a tarot card come out in indecision (neither upright nor reverse). interestingly, it's the world card, or "the tribe" in my deck. you've found your people, your soul family, the people you were destined to love and be loved by. even when you feel worlds (or realities) apart, the energy created by your love and connection remains. love transcends reality and dimension. in shifting, and in the places you're going, you've found home.

you're probably the type of person who often dreams of or receives signs from your DRs. fantasy by bazzi started playing as I'm writing this. you might benefit from using dreams to shift. here are a few dream methods I like to use;

affirm that when you dream of your DR or people from it, it's because you are dreaming within that DR

make a portal with the intention that it will take you to your dr. I like to use Dr. Strange's hand movements to open the portal or to use my finger to draw it in the air

use a mirror as a portal; you can summon one or use one already in the environment

force yourself to wake up with the intention that you'll wake up in your DR

intend for there to be an object — a button that will take you to your DR when you press it, a door, a portal, a mirror, etc — behind you. I find that this method works best for those who struggle to summon things in dreams otherwise

use accio! this is by far my most-used method. I use accio to summon anything, even people from my DR. I use it to summon wands to cast magic or apparate to my DR, to summon buttons that shift me when I press them, etc

use the LIFA app on your phone — LIFA might be more of a 2020 shiftok thing than shiftblr, but the concept of it especially in dreams is fun to play with. I've personally shifted using this method; I load up the LIFA app on my phone or intend for the phone to already be open on my phone, and then select the icon corresponding to the DR I want to shift to

dig your toes into the floor of the dream like it were sand and let yourself sink below it. you'll fall into the void state and be able to shift

your dreams may also be telling you how you can shift. pay attention to reoccurring themes. for me, I often have a certain persistent physical event happening that tells me what I need to do in order to shift — for example, I uncontrollably leak water from my arms, legs, and fingertips when I need to focus on gratitude in order to shift. other times, I feel energy physically exiting me as though I were a vending machine popping out sodas. that means I need to close my eyes, stay still, and tune out the dream around me, focusing solely on my DR.

you can even "interview" your subconscious or your spirit guides by summoning them in the ways I listed above. it's a good way to check in with yourself, though I must warn you, sometimes there answers aren't clear. I've found my guides often want me to discover things on my own rather than having the answers handed to me.

you might benefit from starting a dream journal, or combing through an existing one in order to find any patterns. when you wake, take the time to distance yourself from the experience and view them objectively, as if you were an observer studying them. your dreams especially surrounding the full moon may be especially prophetic or symbolic.

dreams are another form of higher consciousness. it's a way of exploring different realities and dimensions and even time itself while your physical body recharges and heals itself. remember that you are most connected to every single version of you, as well as every reality you desire, when you dream. dreams are a way of exploring consciousness freely, perhaps even meant to hint to us about deeper forms of higher consciousness like shifting and astral projection.

have compassion for yourself and for others. balance is key — do not become so self absorbed that you forget that others have wants and feelings just as you do, but also do not forget yourself by letting others walk all over you. start thinking about how we — souls — are all connected, similar at our core. we are meant to support, not divide. we are the universe experiencing itself.

if you find that you can't summon things in dreams, take a moment before you go to sleep and intend on what you want to happen — what question do you want your dream to answer? what event do you want to happen. eventually, the desired dream will come if not immediately.

you may be drawn to opulence and luxury in your desired realities, but remember that wealth is not the key to happiness, only to a markedly easier life. but an easy life is nothing without happiness. for example, marrying for money might sound fun and bring security long term, but could you ever be truly happy with someone you're not attracted to or someone who doesn't meet your emotional or sexual standards? find joy at every level in life, don't just focus on making up for the material things you lack in this life.

believe it or not, you're actually a very lucky and prosperous person — it's just a matter of letting all of those good things in, not trapping yourself. you won't be warm without the sun.

you need to actually use the tools and opportunities given to you in order to shift. are your desired realities in your best interest? are these DRs healthy for you, or are you risking a lot of trauma? perhaps you need to script a few more safety measures.

now is the time to look at the things you want, really want, and learn why it is that you want them. don't look for things at the surface, dive deep into why you want to live these lives and why they're important to you. ask yourself, do you really want this? there's no shame in rescripting or not shifting for the plot.

the good news is, your desires are absolutely possible. you have the power to shift and manifest everything you want — just be sure you actually want them. and want them for yourself, not for the people in your DR. you don't need to be someone's emotional rock through, let's give an example, a war or toxic relationship. remember that you too have to live through the difficulties in your DR. you can be there for someone without also putting yourself at risk.

shifting should be about emotional and spiritual fulfillment, about becoming your highest self, not avenging some sort of slight or lack. material things can be exciting and rewarding, but be sure to reward your soul just as much as you do your body or environment.

don't let opportunities pass you by; you have a chance to get everything you want, so jump on it. don't worry about doing things wrong, or being perfect. I was told once that imperfect action can be the most successful one. sometimes, clumsiness is endearing. let yourself experience the beauty of life and consciousness and the process instead of being weight and rooted down by superficiality. choose yourself first, not as a physical body, but as a soul.

you're probably a very logical or methodical person. it's difficult for someone so grounded intellectually to progress upwards in a spiritual sense. some things aren't meant to be understood in the physical realm, you have to go outwards into the spiritual world as well.

how silly would it be if we only thought of health as being our physical body rather than being our mental health or environment? life isn't just about the things you can see and touch, so start exploring your beliefs outside of that in detail. you don't have to agree with everyone, you just have to believe in yourself.

learn how to experience emotions rather than analyzing them. to heal, you need to feel. have you ever tried to ignore an itch? it gets unbearable after a few seconds. your emotions and mental health are the same way. you can't just go oh, I'm itchy, you need to make an action to resolve it. so scratch that itch, let yourself feel and process your emotions. there's a reason you feel better and relieved after you cry.

judging from the music, you're probably an older shifter or were raised by older parents. our childhoods are the last of the "good days", the time without social media being so rampant, the time where you didn't need two jobs to survive, the last good (or well, better) education in America, time when you could actually socialize somewhere outside of your phone. the time we lived in wasn't a great one, but in a lot of ways it feels better than everything going on right now. nostalgia is a beautiful thing, and in a lot of ways it's healing.

maybe that's the key for you, to go back. in a song of ice and fire, Daenerys is told she must go back in order to go forward. what media did you feel so deeply connected to as a child? what worlds did you wish, pray, dream of living in? take stock of the those, and consider making DRs for them. sometimes, children are the most knowledgeable of all.

I personally often shift to places of great significance to my childhood, like my childhood home, the home my grandparents lived when I was a child, and the school I went to as a kid. you may find success in making equally significant places for you into waiting rooms, or shifting to relive your childhood in a better, safer, healthier way.

on a soul level, you are a master shifter. that's a gift you were born with, something you didn't need to work on or earn. you may shift to places that aren't where you intend to go, or you may have shifted very quickly into your journey but haven't made it where you want to go or haven't shifted since. your instincts guide you well.

you likely have many DRs or have a habit of masking or code switching based on your environment. use this great adaptive ability to shift! you have a natural gift that you can apply to shifting, and you've probably never thought of it that way. you are constantly being reborn, lean into it. make it a shifting method. allow yourself to fit into your DR, to code switch or mask as though you are already there. don't carry anything with you from your current reality, completely become and act as though you are in your DR.

you may have success shifting through dreams or by intending to wake up in your DR. let go and let yourself be reborn, just as you do in this reality depending on your environment.

you can also use your dreams to conquer any fears, worries, or doubts about shifting. for me personally, I would summon people who I was worried about in a lucid dream, just to get used to their presence. people are much less intimidating when you actually have them in front of you. use your dreams to heal through regrets, even daydream of it. daydream of the things you wish you did or said. learn what you can do better the next time around. work on standing up for yourself and develop self-confidence by doing these mental scenarios.

you are everything and have everything you could ever need. there is no need to worry or doubt about that. you should actually use that as an affirmation when you go to shift or manifest or have any self doubt at all. develop the relationship you have with yourself. reconnect with who you are at a soul level and who you are in your desired reality (or your current reality if you so choose). it might be uncomfortable at first, but man is it worthwhile.

you might feel the need to compete with other shifters — maybe they're more experienced, more popular, maybe they're shifting for the same person or the same DR as you. none of that matters, that's your ego getting in the way of feeling joy. focus on yourself and your own journey. don't let your ego or lower-vibration thoughts and feelings get in the way of loving yourself or your DRs. don't involve other people in your DRs or your spiritual journey. it's meant to be entirely about you, for you; so let it be.

focusing on yourself and your own journey is the best way to bring in balance to your soul, and ultimately to receive whatever rewards are coming your way.

As I have said many, many times now in the notes, Father Brown is just not a very enjoyable show for me. The reason all of these shows in this genre are a hit is because they have a powerful lead who can keep the show on their shoulders, create an enjoyable character that you actually love watching, and, in many but not all cases, a good supporting cast. It's definitely helpful if it is a unique or fun setting we haven't seen before, but that is less important.

If you can't give me a good main character or supporting character,s you have to give me good writing if you want me to tune in. Doesn't even have to be brilliant writing-- just make it fun.

Father Brown gives me none of that. So I don't tune in.

The genre, in general, is a pretty predictable one-- you usually know who the villain is when they come on screen for the first time. Generally speaking, we've all seen enough of these shows to know whodunnit. But that doesn't matter because if you have a charismatic enough lead who is going through all of it, it's fun.

Mark Williams, I just don't find him charismatic. I don't find him enjoyable to watch, I don't find him fun. So the writing is mediocre, the cast is dull, the lead is boring, and that only leaves the occasional guest stars. But when I don't enjoy the writing or the lead or the cast on a show, I'm not going to tune in every week. I *may* turn on a single episode if there's a guest star I want to see. But generally speaking, I just don't.

As much as I hate complimenting America for anything, they figured out in the 50s/60s how to create a compelling cosy murder mystery. They perfected this in the 1980s. They realised that the single most important element is a strong lead that you enjoy watching. Cos we've all seen these stories before. There's rarely anything new in this genre-- and I think that is intentional. I think it's most successful when it is derivative. All the best cosy murder mystery shows are in some way. I don't care. I just watn something fun.

Even the Knives Out films-- the stories are good. The writing is good. The characters are interesting. The murders are interesting. But the murderer is rarely a shock, and let's face it-- we watch cos Daniel Craig is utterly delightful with his awful Foghorn Leghorn accent as he interrogates big name actors who are well-established within film and TV. The stories are fun, but it's sucessful because Craig is so fucking fun to watch. This is basically what I want-- but Craig is what-- 56? If I could age him up 5 years, age up the guest stars by at least 10 years, and turn it into a tv show, that's what I want.

We don't watch Columbo for the stories. We watch it for Columbo losing his shit at Leonard Nimoy, or flirting with Patrick McGoohan, or drinking a glass of wine with the guy he's going to arrest.

We don't watch Murder She Wrote for the stories, we've seen them all before in Agatha Christie and Perry Mason. But that doesn't matter-- We watch them because Jessica Fletcher is just an enjoyable character to watch as she's correcting the incompetent police. And because Angela Lansbury did her best to create jobs for her old costars so they could keep their insurance or people she heard were struggling. So we tune in to see this elderly old man who has played eight different characters on the show, and it doesn't even matter. It's just fun.

We watch Perry Mason cos no matter how hard he tries not to, he's flirting with every single man that comes his way (especially Berger) and that's fun. He's a quiet main character, but Raymond Burr had a subtle and gentle humour that he brought out of Perry. He managed to hold the show on his shoulders very well. He did the same with Ironside. And he had supporting characters who helped make it fun when the stories were getting a little too tired, or when Ray was obviously burnt out cos he was in every scene for years decades.

We watch Matlock cos Andy Griffith was a mean son of a bitch, and as awful as he was to be around in real life, He's funny. And him losing his shit at lying clients, or eating a hot dog and yelling about how much he hates someone-- it's funny. It's fun. Does it matter whodunnit? No. Cos Matlock is going yell at someone and get someone on the stand and corner them in silly dramatics that in real life would have absolutely got him disbarred, and no one cares. They are just fun. Bonus if he gets to yell at Dick Van Dyke or Don Knotts.

The stories are the same in all these shows, they don't really matter --IF you have a fun lead that you just want to keep watching. If you don't have a strong lead, you need a strong supporting cast. If you don't have a strong cast, you need amazing writing. But most cosy murder shows do not rely on writing. They are just *fun.*

The main lead is too young for what I'm after in Miss Fisher, I much prefer older main characters and older guest stars for murder mystery shows. However, point still stands: Phryne is an engaging, delightful and fun character to watch. The stories are fine, they're not brilliant, but Essie Davis is delightful. She's just so much fun. Essie brings a show that would be a very forgettable C- show up to a solid B international hit. And in fact, you can see why Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is such a success compared to Ms Fisher's MODern Mysteries, which no one watched or liked. The stories are very similar, the setting is very similar. But Essie Davis as Phryne was electric on the screen, and just a lot of fun to watch. Essie could carry the whole show by herself, so it only helps that she has a decent supporting cast that clash with her character on different levels.

Contrastingly, Geraldine Hakewill on the MOD mysteries is just... like watching a piece of paper. She's not the worst actor I've ever seen (that would be far more entertaining), but she is definitely not charismatic and electric that you have to watch the next episode. Or even the next scene. I forget MOD exists most of the time, cos it was like eating a piece of paper. But I can rewatch Phryne Fisher many times over because Essie as Phryne is just fun to watch.

It's a bonus if the writing is good on a cosy murder mystery. But generally, I tune in because I want to see the lovely, charismatic older main characters engage in silly conversations with the lovely guest stars (ideally older as well) that I recognise from Things I Used To Watch. I watch for the interactions between the actors, and it's a bonus if there is decent writing or a fun setting. Or nice clothes. Nice clothes is definitely a good thing.

Father Brown does not have any of that for me. Mark Williams isn't an engaging actor to me. He's not charismatic as the main character to me. I don't enjoy watching him. I don't enjoy watching the supporting cast. I don't enjoy the writing. The occasional guest stars are nice, great.

What I want is a FUN show with an older lead who is delightful and fun to watch, with decent writing and older guest stars who are fun to watch. Bonus if there's a fun supporting cast. Double bonus if there are great clothes. That's not Father Brown for me. I WANT to like Father Brown. I do. But every time I try to watch the show, I'm just *bored.* And that's a problem for this genre. You can be average in this genre, and still be a hit-- IF the characters are fun enough. Father Brown is not a fun watch for me. It's not clever writing that keeps me guessing, it's not charismatic actors that keep me wanting more. It's just boring.

Harry Wild is probably the only show I've seen that is almost doing what I want. I do absolutely love Jane Seymour and her character Harry. It's nice to see the setting in Ireland, the supporting cast is... not great, but fine. She is charismatic enough to lead the show, the writing and stories are fine. They just need to start getting better guest stars to prop the show up a bit more. But it's enough for now.

And since I know someone will bring it up without looking at the notes on this post, yes, I know they are rebooting Matlock with Kathy Bates and that Jamie Lee Curtis is in talks for a Murder She Wrote reboot. And I'm mad about it.

You know, it's genuinely sad to me that aging favourite character actors no longer have any fun murder-mystery tv shows to guest-star as murders on.

Ok small rant about Mouthwashing

The abysmal interpretations of Anya make me CRAZY, but specifically the notion that the fandoms made of "if Anya told Daisuke" or "Is Anya told Swansea". We don't know the canon ages of any of the characters but we can assume due to dialogue that Daisuke is probably at least 18, Anya is probably in her late 20 to early 30s due to her flunking out of medical school multiple times. (We can assume Jimmy is around the same age) Curly is probably a little older so maybe mid 30s due to his dialogue about being with pony express for a while and climbing the corporate ladder and all that, and Swansea has full grown kids so he's probably 60-70 years old.

Now a lot of people make the joke that Anya should have told anyone else but curly. But let's use our critical thinking for a moment guys, Anya obviously doesn't want the baby, she doesn't want to give birth on a spaceship, she definitely doesn't want to have Jimmy's baby, so imagine if she told Swansea. We don't know for sure how'd he react but we know that he's probably traditional, so he'd probably try and convince Anya to keep the baby. For Daisuke, realistically what in the world is Daisuke supposed to do? He's an 18 year old boy doing an internship his mom made him do, do you seriously believe Anya's going to tell this literally child about what Jimmy did to her??

The point of Anya telling CURLY is that curly is the Caption, the one in charge, the only one with the actual ability and power to do anything, And he didn't. His inaction was the only thing that truly set the events of mouthwashing into motion. Curly himself even says in the mouthwashing dlc of "How Fish Is Made" that he got Jimmy the job. He let him onto the ship, he didn't stop him from hurting anyone, he let Jimmy walk into the control room and he didn't do anything about jimmy till the absolute last moment and he failed.

In my opinion, jimmy Is the main villain, but curly is no better than him, enabling and allowing Jimmy to run rampant and hurt his team mates (WHICH MIGHT I ADD Anya and Swansea have worked for pony express WITH CURLY AS THEIR CAPTAIN on multiple shipments!!!!!! Curly has probably known Anya and Swansea longer than Jimmy!!!!!)

Anyway the media literacy of this fandom makes me incredibly angry please go back to highschool English ❤️.

I don’t know why people say elucien’s interaction is awkward. Their situation always read to me as angsty especially because we don’t have their POVs to truly know what is going on in their minds

I was so surprised when I saw people say their interactions were awkward online after reading the books because I had shipped them from their first scene. Their first interaction in ACOWAR through Lucien’s POV the first time, was my epitome of angst and pinning.

Or maybe it’s because after that scene they are seen through other characters lenses??

I can see how things feel awkward as of the novella. Anytime one person is purposely ignoring someone else in a group it's uncomfortable but really, no more uncomfortable than what Rhys said he went through watching Cassian and Nesta at one another's throats in ACOMAF or when Nesta was dismissive of him in ACOWAR.

But ACOMAF and ACOWAR for Elucien? Their interactions are loaded with tension. The Hybern scene? Two strangers who have never met a day in their lives and the rest of the world falls away as they're staring at one another? Epic.

Was it romantic for either? No, of course not, but it's a big moment and it's powerful. I don't think there has never been a single scene in an SJM book that existed between two possible love interests which was quite as powerful as that one for both. Feyre finding out Rhys was her mate was a huge deal for her but he wasn't there to share in that bombshell, he already knew. And when he found out she was clueless. So yeah, that reveal was intense especially when you consider how Lucien spent years believing his mate is dead and Elain was set to marry someone else.

Elain finally leaving her room for the first time only after Lucien's arrival to the HOW? And the place she chose to visit just happened to be the place he decided to go to even though he was ordered not to? The angst and anguish they were both experiencing in those moments because of everything they had lost while simultaneously feeling pulled to the other? Elain knowing exactly who Lucien was to her? That's not awkward, that's tension, Baby.

Lucien reaching out to Elain through their bond? Her confirmation that she felt him inside of her? Of course that was awkward for Feyre because she was snooping on something that is an intimate moment between mates. I highly doubt she'd want someone sitting there staring at her while she and Rhys were exploring their mating bond for the first time but the moment itself was a big thing for Elain and Lucien and I can only imagine what it would have felt like for us to read about that moment without the onlookers.

Lucien and Elain staring silently at one another, him knowing that she's still in love with Graysen so he sets off on a dangerous mission to find the girl Elain saw in her visions so he might bring back an army because he believes he's not needed in the NC? Her taking a step the morning of his departure as if she might go after him?

Yes, there is some slight awkwardness to Elain and Lucien at times because of circumstance. They've got people constantly monitoring them, they were complete strangers when they met, they've not been given much time to truly get to know one another without obstacles standing in their way (Nesta, Feyre, the war, the death of her father, his guilt over Jesminda, Graysen), but obstacles are literally put into a story because they create drama and angst. That Elain and Lucien have hesitation around one another is something for them to overcome in their book.

It was not put there, as many E/riels believe, to demonstrate that "Elain hates Lucien" or "Elain will never pick Lucien because she's clearly uncomfortable with him."

It was put there so that Sarah J Maas could tell the story of what it looks like when two strangers become mates when they already have ties to others and were basically from two different worlds when their bond snapped. It's not meant to be smooth sailing, it's meant to be a bumpy ride but it's going to be so worth it in the end.

Sevika On The Inside - Arcane Headcanons

A/N: Just so the Arcane fandom has a general understanding of how I personally write headcanons, I usually pick a theme that I want to explore with that character and then I just start rolling. So if you want to see different themes with Sevika explored or you really like my style & want to see this or that character be tackled next: Feel free to send me a request! You can do so anonymously if you're a little shy .

-The mental strength of this woman is as great as her punches. The way she talked with Vander in S1 hints she likely worked with Vander and Silco during the rebellion that killed Jinx & Vi's parents. Then there was the years of cleaning up after Silco and dealing with Jinx. So she's spent over a decade fighting for Zaun's best interest without ever compromising on what she believes in or losing hope. Someone weak willed couldn't have dealt with all of that. -She has a much more beautiful heart then she lets on. She cares for her people deeply and wouldn't leave anyone behind. The fact she wouldn't turn in Jinx and was so quick to dismiss the idea, just shows she cares for every Zaunite in her own way, even if they occasionally make her blood boil. Plus, there was the way she's always willing to set her personal issues with Jinx aside to give her advice and comfort, wether directly like she did with S2 or indirectly through Silco in S1. -With Sevika speaking in past tense about her father, it's clear that he's dead. I don't think it is unfair to assume he died due to circumstances related to Piltover's oppression of Zaun. -This is also what inspired her soft spot for Jinx that Sevika pretends doesn't exist. She wanted to help Silco with her, precisely because of the reality Zaun is currently under. Families get ripped apart and Sevika does know that their bond is likely going to end in bloodshed yet again. So she doesn't wants them to be on bad terms by the time that happens and be filled with guilt and regret like she experiences from time to time. -This is the other reason aside from her being too pre-occupied already that she won't have children or even a regular romantic relationship. Because she knows it's going to end badly and it would be nothing but a distraction that would leave her traumatized. So she visits Miguel instead. -Miguel knows quite a lot of what's going on inside of Sevikas heart, but she never reveals too much as she's not so stupid to give him that kind of power over her. -Whilst no one from Zaun wants to follow her, the ones up in the Zaun food chain who know Sevika, know that she is more then a good right hand but cares more for Zaun then most. I have a feeling one of them, perhaps Vi or Ekko, was the one to tell the Council who was to award a position on the council to represent Zaun's best interest, because Sevika is the best person for the job and deserves to be the one calling the shots for a change. -She now gets to experience what it feels like to be at peace, now she no longer has to fight. Whilst old habits die hard, I feel like Sevika is now exploring her options in terms of establishing her own home now she no longer needs to fear it being taken away from her. Like potentially adopting a pet that she can have some relaxing cuddles wih after council meetings and getting the chance to speak freely with something, as even with Miguel she could never just unload EVERYTHING.

Getting on her feet was a decision that had mixed results. On the one hand, she felt as though she delayed the melting into the floor from dramatics. On the other, she was not the best balanced. After greeting and thanking the delivery employee, Eira made sure to take for herself a more measured pace for the return. Even this meager amount alcohol (and with how powerful that vodka was) on an empty stomach was dangerous. Two shots too many.

"Fiiiine. Maybe not complete, but it still wasn't great! On my part... And I'm no stranger to being lauded out of comfort for a poor showing, Sonia, you'll not be matching my injured ego on that." The idol huffs, carefully setting out the various containers and utensils and other makings for their cheap delivery food. Well, cheap as far as deliveries went. It was still a private chauffeur for curry and tofu. Sorely needed. She wouldn't regret it purchase nor calorie-wise.

Though she still regret some of her behavior and words. It was different around Sonia. Eira wasn't entirely ignorant of how she behaved. How she could hold herself to a higher class and tossed about her advice and coddling- warranted or otherwise on her peers and friends. She never flashed her family's wealth around them, but she did put on an air of wisdom that wasn't entirely earned. Simply... poised as such.

Compare that to Sonia, a woman who Eira saw to walk all over that posturing. Don't apologize again, don't apologize again...

"I'm... going to find some time to make that right at least. Visiting your home, I mean. It's the least I can do. How hard could it be?" Eira offers, in lieu of said apology, before taking some of the food onto her fork and making quick work of it. Palpable relief when she swallows the bite down makes its way to her features. Like releasing a long held breath. She blinks at the question that follows. "And. I'd like to do so more frequently." Perhaps even put on a show in Novoselic? Now that was a thought for a more sober Eira.

"Oh, the tv show, right." Eira thinks back on the hardboiled detectives and is glad for the heat of the food and liquor. The restraint is obvious, if only to save face. "Um. Well, you can... would you like to pick something next? I don't mind idol programming either, just so you know. I have to watch those things eventually to see what the other groups are up to."

Eira narrows an eye, looking at the screen and considering further.

"So long as I don't show up... this is the last state I want to be in for witnessing one of my own performances. There are some programs still running clips from our performance last month." Eira huffs.

Sonia laughed: Eira insisted she should hold it against her, but Sonia never would. In fact, there was little she would hold against her at all. "Well, you are welcome to visit at your convenience, though letting me know is helpful. Arranging transport from the airport, for example, if you are not flying with me directly. And there is plenty of space for Bacchus-san and anyone else you would like to bring along." Or need to bring along. That was probably more accurate: if she had to guess, Sonia would wager that she was one of the few with ample space in her various homes to house all means of traveling staff, including private security. She had a feeling he'd fit right in anyway with the rest of her own security detail, if not the entire Royal Family's.

Still, she shook her head at Eira's apology. She was bold, but Sonia liked that about her. She could tell her how to live her life whether Sonia herself actually heeded her words or not: blunt, but well-meaning. "Don't apologize," She half-told, half-ordered her. To the extent she could, anyway. Eira was her friend, not her subject. "It is not childish to dream. It is something we simply find harder to hold onto upon growing up. It's funny: so many creatives mark the loss of innocence as a death, or having sexual intercourse for the first time. And yet I wonder if it is much less immediate than that but no less profound: how the realities of life seep in over time that the ideal one once strived for is no longer there, simply because it is unattainable."

Some things, of course, she wouldn't give up: the belief in the existence of ghosts and demons, for example. But a balance of both personal fulfillment and a love her family and the country both approved of and found hope for the future in? That one had been chipped away at for years, to the point that Sonia felt she was simply biding time now until the inevitable union to some handsome, well-bred but dull man whom the country swooned over but she deemed perfectly fine.

She'd halfway stood up by then, moving to set down her shot glass on the low table before getting the door. But Eira had beaten her to it, despite her instructions, and thus Sonia just chuckled, pouring herself another shot with a shrug. It would take much more than two shots of vodka to put her out of sorts, and it wasn't as if she were driving. She was highly dissuaded from doing so in Japan: it was a problem if she was found to be doing so without a license. She didn't need one in Novoselic and therefore had never been issued one.

"You were not a complete disaster!" Sonia called after her, likely confusing the poor person assigned to their delivery. Hopefully they weren't a fan of idols or royalty. "You were simply relaxing as we indulged in some of the best Japanese competition shows! Do you know they've moved on from questioning if things are chocolate to if things are cake? The bakers are quite innovative with their uses of molding cake shapes and fondant!"

Unless, of course, she counted cheerful greetings instead of her usual, more tempered nature as a disaster. Sonia watched with interest: one shot of vodka and she was practically giddy. She really didn't hold her alcohol well, something Sonia found surprising. Most people she'd met from Eira's part of the world looked at drinking alcohol as a necessary social skill, if not a sport. Rather the way her family did: when Eira did come to visit, she'd have to be on her guard to ensure no one took advantage of how much of a lightweight she was. Liam, at least, would enjoy playfully bullying her until she was red in the face.

"You are quite enthusiastic, Eira-san," Sonia remarked with a small smirk as she returned and set down the paper bags containing the Indian takeaway, moving to help her unpack and plate its contents for the two of them. "I cannot blame you: a good curry is worthy of such excitement. Did you want to continue the police procedural or would you like to watch something else? Obviously, nothing idol or royal related." That was a given for them: no matter what sort of media they consumed, the one rule was that it couldn't resemble their real lives that much.

Or be too disturbing, though Sonia tried to push the limits with that one. Serial killer and death cult documentaries were fascinating, after all.

Can you talk about trans!Curly a little bit more? I'm curios if you have any headcanons and the like

It's just such a thing in my mind because it adds a truthful sadness and differing aspect to mouthwashing.

If Curly was trans it adds the horror of the horribly selfish thought he could have easily been in Anya's situation. It could've been him but it wasn't and he so conflicted on the pit it put in his stomach that brings and the shameful relief it wasn't. In this scenario he is friends with Jimmy for a long time still. Jimmy likely knew him pretransition. Maybe he gave Curly weird looks then, maybe they never stopped after, maybe they seemed meaner. They are guys now, bros, both of them are. He doesn't really have to worry what those looks mean anymore, Jimmy just has that face with him sometimes. It's recontextualizing a lot of things for him that he was in denial about or too ashamed to admit. How naive he was being and how he let that get another person hurt.

Specifically with Anya, it's he knows the dread and fear she's feeling. He can understand it because he had to live with it for a good portion of his life, he knows it cause he still does, just in a slightly different way. It makes him think of all the times he's been alone with Jimmy, all the times he's been way more drunk off his ass and not remember the night, Jimmy was always with him the next day. Makes him think of the comments he would laugh off both because that's what guys do but because that part of being a girl says to laugh so Jimmy doesn't do something. It's the selfish realization that he was never safe and he's uncertain now too. Mad at himself for forgeting that feeling, espcially since for a long time he would've been considered the only woman on a crew (with all that implies) for a long time.

He should've taken those blinders off, step back into that position for just a moment and it's so much more painful that Anya likely came to him because he should've gotten it. Those thoughts don't leave his mind after the crash when he's in an even more vulnerable position than she was...

#this is less headcanons and more my thoughts of the intersectional horror this brings to mouthwashing which is also a thing it #already has but more directly in the mix vs just the class gender and positional struggle. like the idea he waited to confront Jimmy becaus #he could conceptualize the crime better because of experience with womanhood and also how it would've destroyed him in terms of being trans #like its weird to word as a comparison but thats kinda how empathy works as in an understanding and ability to project through aspects #like you found out your friend who has always had weird feelings about and relating to you is a rapist and got one of your other friend #pregnant and is now being openly hostile and aggressive towards you. You have only a few days to really think on all of this all the years #with him and how many oppurtunites he had that you blame yourself for giving him both in life and to do to you. "[S]ince Kenny is such a bad person and also his relative, Levi's a bad person himself" I love this, it totally mimics the mindset of so many people in AoT. Not only that, but in Bad Boy, too, we see people treating Levi like he's worthless because he's the son of a prostitute. These social expectations depicted in the canon AoT world could just mean that in that scene, where the company ditches Kuchel and leaves Levi to rot, they laugh, hypocritically, about Levi's relation to someone as greedy as Kenny, and his relation to his mother, shaming him overall and saying he'll grow up to amount to nothing — if he grows up at all, seeing his chances of even staying alive. Though now that I think about it, I don't think Levi would be able to say something about blood not defining family at that age, at least not for himself. He'd view himself as worthlessly as the company tells him he is, on top of how Kenny treats him later on, and on top of his relationship with Kuchel in the back drop of the brothel. He would have to know directly that Small Hange is related to the company, yet doesn't want to be, in order to say that.

Going back to the beginning, Kenny's greedy and wants power so he can have compassion, whatever that belief is. Yet he also believes that only the strong deserve to survive. Maybe he and Kuchel were born in the Underground and offered a chance, for one person, to go to the surface. We see that Kenny has his Ackerman powers, but Kuchel doesn't, and that Kenny has some sort of sympathy for Kuchel given their sibling relationship. She's weaker, she doesn't have her powers, and she's his sister, he guesses, so Kenny lets Kuchel go up to the surface out of his own moral obligation. One less thing to worry about. Later on, seduced by the lure of power and money, Kenny meets the company and exposed the price of the tea set in Kuchel's possession, thinking, "If Kuchel's strong enough now, being up on the surface and all, she can keep it. If not, what do I have to owe her anymore? I did my part."

So, indirectly, Kenny is part of the cause of Kuchel's death. Damn, the family drama is crazy with this one.

Honestly, this timeline makes no sense, I'm still vomiting ideas, lol. It's a mess. And apparently we had different thoughts on the ages, I was confused this whole time thinking we were talking about four year olds, lol. That seemed to be Levi's age when Kenny found him, that's why.

But I love that drawing SO much: it's giving antique dealer Hange x antique-stuff-loving Levi vibes, who's trying to find an old porcelain cup just like the one that belonged to his mother or something like that 😭 I know, that's not even a trope but still, now I want this so bad!!

Idk if I'm gonna be able to articulate this on the fly like first thing in the morning, but. I think my ENTIRE body of work is This: Examining how family ties, bonds or lack thereof, the good and bad AND ugly, seep into every facet of who we are and how we come to interact with others. How sometimes, a family tie (or again, a Lack of one), will sometimes bleed into how you act and treat specific people. Will bleed into how you CONNECT with those people (or, will be the very reason you fail to do so).

HOWEVER. HOWEVER. THERE IS A DELICATE LINE. A BALANCING ACT. You CANNOT just simply attribute fanon flavored ideas of found family to such characters. That's too simple, and sometimes, is a complete disservice to the specific character you're working with. I am once again bringing up Chilchuck. YES, him being a dad Absolutely seeps into how he treats his party. But if you call him the party's dad, you're Insane. Do you know ANYTHING ABOUT THAT MAN???? He would prefer you didn't. But I digress. He strikes a fascinating balance, between having The Qualities and ESPECIALLY expressing his care for his party in a Really Specific divorced (separated.) father of three fashion, but that does Not make him a "dad friend". He's a professional. He's on business. He's going home at the end of the day, and at the end of this adventure he's thinking of setting up a shop. I wanted to keep this more vague and broad but like. The Chilchuck example REALLY DOES perfectly articulate What I'm trying to get at, here. He's the perfect encapsulation of How his family shapes him, how that bleeds into his relationships with others, vs Who he is as a person.

How we were raised, our family ties, whether you adhere to it or you've fallen FAR from the tree -- you still fell from that stupid fucking tree. It's in your blood. Literally. It gave you shape, whether you liked it or not. And sometimes some things just set off weird domino effects, that also affect us irrevocably forever.

WHICH IS. TO SAY. I have no fucking idea what I'm talking about. I'm always trying to figure that out. Found family is/can be real, you're not strictly bound by blood if you don't wanna be. BUT. The bullshit I'm constantly on, is trying to figure out how to balance all that without slotting everyone into reductive roles. I'm gay and I seek to destroy the nuclear family. Not attempt to recreate nuclear family 2.0. You CAN reconstruct What Family Is/Means from the ground up, but you have to accept that things are going to get Weird. Because you're Queer. You are fundamentally incompatible with the status quo and normalcy, the solution is NOT assimilation and palatability, the solution is to just. Get weirder. And be fluent in canon. Okay. I love you

Okay, it took me a moment to gather my screenshots from the various Wiki pages. I couldn't get a decent one of teen Cedric. But, here we go.

I also have theories about this, and it might sound nuts, but hear me out.

So, we know that in the universe of Sofia the First that magical artifacts of the Princesses exist, and that it seems that the histories of the Disney Princesses intertwine with the lore of the Sofia the First universe.

This is what they set up with Vor, at least, to my understanding. And, the presence of Merlin from The Sorcerer's Stone and The Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty would also seem to suggest this theory.

Now, it also seems to be that with the right set of words and tones just about *anything* can become a curse, hex, or spell. New potions, spells, and whatever are being invented all the time.

So ... hypothetically ... some really unliked kid at Hexley ... with the right/wrong combination of some misplaced (or intentional) words and actions from some bullies gets hit with a spell meant for ... oh ... something like freezing a heart?

And, out of embarrassment, or sadness, or bitterness, or fear, or some combination of all of those things, he might decide to, say, hide his magical healing instead of revealing the fact that he's cursed to anyone?

Yeah. I could see that happening. That sounds accurate to Cedric's character. He's the "no one's going to believe it happened, so why bother?" type.

I have visuals to explain my thought process here. So, one second.

Obvs. I own nothing. Disney owns the images. I pulled all these images from the Cedric and Anna character Wiki pages.

Here's where we're going to start as our base images for Cedric. This is before the two tiny streaks he had in his hair on the day of The Incident spread. So, even though in the second image he's nervous, and tiny, he's still like, fine? I think this was from the "Sorcerer's Secret" flashback. So, not only that, he's got a supportive teacher in his corner. He's doing alright. Life is okay. This is our base.

But, before we get into comparing skin tones and hair and all that stuff. Let's talk about what we *know* about freezing spells, how they're healed magically, and all that from the Frozen universe.

Grand Pabbie says in Frozen "You're lucky it was her head and not her heart. The heart is not so *easily* changed, but the head can be persuaded."

Now, this seems to imply that the heart CAN be changed, just not *easily.*

Secondly, we also know when frozen heart, head, etc. curses are healed the white/ frozen color *remains* in the body.

After Anna was struck by Elsa, the streak of white remained in her hair. The physical change remained permanent.

Now, what has changed between our first two images and later Cedric?

A whole heck of a lot of white in his bangs, that's what.

It's a call back to Cruella, sure. However, let's think about this character a little more shall we?

The younger sibling left in the shadows of an incredibly powerful older sister, who just sort of doesn't pay said sibling any mind anymore, but the older sister still probably cares about the younger sibling a decent amount, magical accident occured in childhood leaving the two of them on the outs with one another, and it turns out it was just a big misunderstanding caused by an overbearing dad ...

Where the heck have I heard that story before?

So, with the that comparison drawn, I want to look at the physical characteristics of a frozen heart because there's some interesting things to point out.

Cedric's season one skin tone, as mentioned by OP, also looks a lot like this -

We also see Cedric in that second posture a lot. His arms drawn up close to the chest. And, that's consistent throughout the seasons. Whenever he bows, his arms are almost always up. (Sadly, I don't have a good screenshot for proof, but you can see it in the first screenshot above.)

So, let's run with this theory that at some point Cedric's heart was frozen and fixed magically.

It's entirely possible whomever magically healed Cedic's curse was powerful enough that it only left the two larger markings in his bangs, or the curse was caught early enough that it never progressed quite as far as Anna's curse did.

Though, hair aside, I also began to wonder, what would a magically repaired frozen heart *be* like?

Would it be more prone to breaking? To becoming stoney and evil? To not understanding how to love and be loved?

Physically, would there be consequences?

What Frozen seems to imply about frozen hearts is that they need true love to be cured. They need an act of true love to thaw them.

That's something, that given Cedric's history, likely would have been hard, if not impossible, to come by in his young life.

Hence, why the curse likely would have had to be cured magically through a sort of "loophole" in the first place.

So, convincing a heart that it is loved magically, especially one as broken as Cedric's, would have been difficult.

So, I had to wonder if that's where the scheming came in?

Are the "evil dreams that always comforted me" what his frozen heart latched onto?

Or, did something else happen that made him latch onto the schemes and evil dreams because something happened to his last tethers to goodness?

Did someone say something at some point and Cedric's already fragile heart just had enough and went to stone?

Was the teacher in the Sorcerer's Secret flashback the one who saved him?

Or, was it someone else?

These are all questions I have absolutely no confirmed answers to but are really fun hypotheticals.

I mean, this is all a hypothetical anyway. No one has confirmed this. I just like thinking about it.

(I have personal HCs about how this all could have played out and how this affected Cedric's evil scheming. But, like, have fun with your own hypotheticals and HCs before reading my fanfics where I tell you mine.)

You'll also recall the first presentation of Anna's frozen heart curse, after her hair, was her *hands?* It's possible the reason Cedric wears compression-like gloves is because the magical healing post frozen heart curse couldn't fully repair his *hands.*

I also noticed Cedric's occasional issues with running and physical activity. I think it's in the episode that they turn James into a baby that he has a hard time chasing the dog down? That also, to me, lent credence to this particular theory.

However, the thing that really made me hone in on this theory was what Anna says to Olaf as she's freezing.

"I don't even know what love is."

This could very easily describe Cedric's entire arc in the show. He doesn't. He has no idea what it means to love or be loved. It's his entire question. In the end, it's what he's searching for, and it's what he finds.

He finds it as Sofia's mentor and teacher. He rediscovers it in his relationship with Roland. He discovers love in the act of teaching at RPA and helping James with special effects at the play. He discovers it in protecting and teaching his niece as a sort of parental figure to her. He even discovers it in rekindling a relationship with his *sister.* What started EVERYTHING to begin with.

(I feel like the teacher with the tack on his seat in The Incredibles right now.)

As Cedric starts to learn what *love* is, he starts to heal. He starts to look less like the above images and more like this.

Now, it's not perfect for him. He never fully loses his bangs. He never fully goes back to "normal."

And, my theory on that is because his heart was repaired *magically* as Anna's head was repaired *magically.*

When a curse is repaired magically, it cannot be undone. It is forever there. So, things can improve, however the physical reminders are still there. (In Cedric's case: his bangs, the fainting after freeing Sofia from the Amulet, etc.)

So, my theory is that the more Cedric accepts love, and shows love, the less the magically healed curse would affect him. The more he integrates into palace life the more hands there are to take care of him and show him the love he would literally need to survive. However, because the curse was healed by magical means, there would be very few ways to actually fix it.

Thus, this theory attempts to explain why Cedric turned evil, why his redemption arc took as long as it did, some of the allusions to his potential physical health issues in the show, and why his character design looks the way it does.

Can we talk about the fact that in the debut movie and in first season Cedric looks literally sick? He's not pale/his actual skin color. He's grey next to other characters. He looks like he didn't had a proper meal in days and is not sleeping well either, he doesn't even look like has strength to get up. He wasn't okay

I think this was a design choice done on purpose to subtly add to his "villain" look but still, considering what we discovered about this character later on, kinda looks like a mental health issue
