byler getting together in their early 20s is also very special to me because they have time to discover more about themselves and i like the idea of them knowing about queerness beyond their own experiences and what hawkins says. whether that’s reading poetry or novels, seeing art, meeting other gay people, learning real queer history… idk. them having an actual idea about who they are + what it all means for their futures. like just. maybe will finding something that describes how he’s felt for so long written/drawn by a gay artist even if it’s sad, at least he can identify that feeling in some way

Sunfyre obeying commands said in the common tongue implies absolutely nothing about Aegon’s bond with his dragon.

Dragons are very intelligent magical animals, but they are still animals, and the language they are trained in is the language they’ll understand and respond to.

However, Aegon training Sunfyre in the common tongue does convey something about Aegon. Above all, it shows how disconnected he is from his Valyrian heritage, and due to his disinterest in becoming fluent in High Valyrian, it also suggests that he is simply uninterested in learning more about that side of his identity. This also exemplifies the ongoing assimilation of the Targaryens into Westerosi culture and foreshadows their increasing conformity with Westerosi traditions and values.

Again, Aegon commanding Sunfyre in the common tongue does not say anything about how strong or weak their bond is. It simply shows that Aegon is more or less uninterested in his Valyrian heritage and has assimilated into Westerosi culture more than any other Targaryen at the time (that we’ve seen so far).

Now, I have a lot of gripes with the HOTD writers and the additions and changes that they’ve made, but I see no problem with this one. This isn’t something the HOTD writers wrote in on a whim nor is it more proof of the writers being anti-Aegon (a prominent belief that Aegon stans hold). It is actually very consistent with both Aegon’s previous characterization and the green factions ideology.

So my confusion with team greens outrage lies here with this question: For the team that is so anti-Targaryen, why are you guys angry that Aegon is detached from his Valyrian heritage?

on the topic of celebrity products what are your thoughts on people who collect albums, specifically kpop stans because i used to pride myself on not wasting ungodly amounts on merch but then i went through a phase where i spent hundreds of dollars on albums and i honestly regret it… i don’t look at them ever and they’re collecting dust on my shelves. not my best moment i’ll admit.

Umm I don’t like to tell ppl what to do on things that bring them joy 🥲 like yes shop ethically (I literally have amazon boycotted to this day, among so many other companies), but beyond that I’m not gonna tell someone whether or not it’s dumb to collect albums for music they’re a fan of
