imagine arthur never comes back and merlin just lives forever alone

like just imagine, i’ve talked about this before but it would get to the point (from what we know about the human brain which honestly probably doesn’t transfer over much to immortal beings) but he’s forget everything he’s ever known

honestly the only thing he’d know is that he’s never going to die and then once you get that old the years probably start feeling shorter and shorter

then because of that, this means every new person he meets seems to die faster and faster

then if he really is immortal as in he can’t die even if he is in situations nothing can live in ?

he’s gonna be sitting there and he’s gonna feel the earth die (this is assuming his magic doesn’t come from the earth in someway and instead comes purely from him- which he IS magic as the show said pretty sure, so it’s likely) and he’s gonna be there for the sun’s explosion

and then he’s just gonna live floating frozen through space feeling like he’s suffocating for the rest of forever (unless aliens find him but then he’s probably gonna get tortured and experimented on and the process will just repeat over and over and over again)

and humans can’t really conceptualize forever but god this keeps me up at night

The best fics are the ones that recognize that although Luke Skywalker may APPEAR on the outside to be a normal friendly twink who happens to have cool powers, especially when contrasted with such ship partners as Boba or Din or even Han, he is arguably the scariest person alive in the galaxy around the prequel era. AND, crucially, he is also a fundamentally weird guy. This man was homeschooled on a rural farm his entire life and then apprenticed to a swamp gremlin who showed him how to tap into the cosmic power of the universe. He blew up the death star age 19, killing approx 2 million-ish Imperials. He is a vortex of Force power that can communicate with the ghosts of dead Jedi. He’s staring into the distance and mumbling to himself and doing Yoda aphorisms and casually pulling out the “yeah I could crush that guy into a paste with my mind (:” and nobody around him knows what to do with that. I think he is a character who has very little frame of reference for how a Jedi or a person in general is supposed to act and there is some thing about him that is by necessity really fucking weird and a little scary but he’s so nice that it can throw you off the scent a little bit. gore is so cgi and manufactured nowadays. where is the prosthetic limbs that can be chopped off and squirt blood, where is the blood packs in actors mouth so they can spit the blood out, where is the explosion of blood that doesn’t look realistic because there can’t possibly be that much blood in someone’s body. we need to go back and take some notes out of 80s body horror book

I will admit as a lesbian on the internet that sometimes lesbians on the internet will see two women barely interact and then ship them (which totally cool and correct of them to do). That is NOT what is happening with Trudy and Kelsey those women have layers of homosexuality going on to the point that I am convinced the ghost of a dead lesbian teacher from the 50s has possessed Matthew Arnold and is speaking through him without his knowledge. I hope that Trudy and Kelsey figure it all out and kill Tucker and end up having a wonderful life with their newly acquired murderson Francis Farnsworth. And Freddie’s there too I guess
