i know this will be a controversial statement for some people on this website, but you guys need to understand that being a radical communist with zero awareness of the nuance of living on planet earth is really not very different from being an alt-right extremist.

i usually stay quiet because i don’t like to engage in fandoms of any kind anymore, but the things i’ve been shown from iwtv twitter is concerning. idk what assad/armand fans think they’re trying to achieve by disrespecting jacob, delainey, sam, and the rest of the cast by saying armand is the sole reason anyone watches this show and that he’s the best actor on the show etc, but yall are not doing yourselves any favors. this is not tvd. this is not the cw. using assad for agenda shipping purposes because you hate sam/lestat, and reducing louis to an object or a prize to be won, and trying to knock louis/jacob out of his lead position on a show where he is the best/most nuanced written gay BLACK male character in history is disgusting and so extremely disrespectful to jacob who is literally the cutest/kindest human being ever.

this show is a team effort. everyone involved with iwtv are master class actors, writers, set designers, etc and when it comes to acting—to credit one actor for the show’s success is very off putting. (especially when you take into account delainey had only two weeks to prepare for claudia and gave the performance of a lifetime.) there are many who do not engage with this fandom because of takes like this and all this will do is put people off assad/armand which is the last thing anyone needs. cast members of color and characters of color should not be pit against each other on the ONLY show on tv right now that allows them to be great.

I understand why fit viewers are upset that what fit meant as a joke is being taken seriously, but like Tubbo didn’t know that. This is miscommunication the musical!!!! What the hell is Tubbo supposed to think when fit pulls foolish aside and asks if he really wants to work with tubbo? Like that seems really serious and genuine, especially bc he had to evesdrop to hear it! Like it’s really not that deep but to qtubbo it is.

I genuinely don’t think anyone is wanting fit dead or upset with him as a character (aside from not reaching out but that’s on qtubbo too), we just take things how qtubbo takes them and qtubbo overhearing someone asking if they actually want to be his friend while he’s already insecure is hurtful.

Not everything is negative about another character, we can be angsty and say how much we wish fit would reach out and be upset over what he’s saying while still liking him and understanding that the comment was meant to be jokier then how people took it. People view characters how the characters view characters, qtubbo was hurt so we’re hurt. Fit was joking so the huevos don’t see a problem. We all gotta understand that we come from different understandings and that’s okay!!!

The times Sand has gotten hurt over Ray, he has dealt with it himself and didn’t say anything to Ray, ignore him and tried to walk away, Ray is the one who keep pestering him!! “Sand needs to take responsibility for his feelings” he has been doing that!!! repeatedly!! Ray is the one who won’t leave him alone!! And Sand likes him and sees Ray is not well, obvs he is gonna give in because he is human being with feelings and wants to help him?

Sand is not Nick!! He is not going after Ray like a lap dog, the opposite actually! And when Sand tries to ignore Ray and move on, AGAIN, Ray is not gonna let him! (per the preview) Can you imagine if Mew did to Ray what Ray is doing to Sand? Reject him and every time Ray tried to move on, go after him and gave him hope again? Oh we wouldn’t hear the end of it!!

honestly i need you to keep sending me things (especially after episode 8 i need to know your thoughts) because you’re making me think about what’s happening with sand’s character and his actions in such different ways!!!! even as a sand defender as i keep adverting myself i think you might be his number one because i completely agree with what you’re saying.

you hit the nail on the head with saying imagine if it was mew in this situation and he would be getting more hate than ray would be. i mean there were theories upon theories for so long that mew was stringing ray along for “evil manipulator mew” reasons and even with it being disproven people still think it.

and look at how people are talking about him using ray as a rebound this episode. yes it’s true that he’s using ray a rebound. yes it’s not exactly right to choose him as a rebound knowing how weak he is for mew and how much he wants mew to love him but i also don’t think he understands ray’s attachment to him like the audience does. and people act like ray is not also wrong for taking advantage of the fact that mew is also in a vulnerable spot too. there’s no way you’re telling me that ray doesn’t understand that he’s a rebound and that mew doesn’t actually like him either (unless he’s deluded himself). he just doesn’t care and will take mew’s love in any way he can and that includes going in and taking his chance knowing that mew is only accepting it because he wants a rebound (and possibly wants to hurt top even if unconsciously even though he says he’s not looking for revenge anymore but we’ll see about that one next episode)
