As someone who has accidentally slept for 23 hours straight and literally has a nickname as “snooze” I’m obligated to do this (I tried to look for a cute / aesthetic gift but that pup is my spirit animal fr)

I’ve been digging how @oozedninjas does their Headcanons (as long with their writing, I seriously eat it up everytime yum yum yum)

as much as I love looooong Headcanons, sometimes I only have some blurbs going on in my mind, I also think this keeps things so dynamic, every interaction can be seen and everyone is happy yipee (I hope you don’t mind me using your writing style? Waaa! Hello there! Im glad you asked and Im willingly here to help you with that!

Although,Im not a really an expert for tutorials. So please bear with me with some grammatical errors qwq

long post ahead!

Okay,so here it is: I. Angles and shapes

First off,you need to determine his head angle. I used some angles from the existing pics of Fort Max from MTMTE for this owo When you do,try to make a basic shape. In other words,draw a box. So when you draw a box,it should be look like 3D-ish like my illustration above. Fortress Maximus has a very Square-shaped individual and his head shape could vary in some angles and may inconsistent. (my brain is not brainging atm)

II. Drawing For drawing,now I picked the 3/4 angle because it's easy,lol.

I started sketching his head with a circle first and then proceed to add the box shape. The top of his head is not completely flat,but more like curved. But it won't be neccessary later on,I think? (It's just my liking when sketching tho qwq). Then you see a shaded part so it looks like 3D-ish,and I added a jawline and neck.

Next,drawing his face and neck. It didn't go the way the base looks like,but you could overlap on some areas if you needed to (such as chin,jawline,forehead,etc..). Btw,you can use the lasso tool and transform tool to adjust the angle for you liking.

Then,you draw a slightly elevated angular square for his brim.(similar to this lego piece,lmao). Also,you can add his side thingy-stuff (ii have no idea what are those called). I preferrably draw those things angular,but you can draw it straight up a rectangle and more easier.

Then add that little thing in the middle like most every cybertronian have. Again,repeat the same "Slightly elevated angular square" but its now a triangle-rectangle hybrid.

Also,try to make it look like buried within the brim. (It still depends on you if you want it on top or look pushed down)

I erased some of his forehead and jawline. And Ta-Da! This looks cursed af,but we're getting there! Final step is to add his antlers or horns.

I finally added his horns/antlers! his horns/antlers could vary in shapes too! some examples seen on the lower right,but ive seen more than that!

keep in mind that to flip/mirror the canvas if you drawing those so you can be aware if it looks weird

Add that smol half square between his helm and antlers

and we're almost done! added some details too You can also add those "shadows" on his eyes,like in the idw comics. Max eyes looks a bit small and weird,but it can be fix by erasing some parts to make his eyes looks better.

Finallly...Done!

I made some few minor adjustments for my liking.

I hope you find this tutorial helpful,this is my first ever tutorial i made. It may not be 100% percent accurate,but you get some ideas. Also,I really appreaciate that you asked me for this and it makes me very happy!

how many versions of Claddia do you have

Eh I think like 6 or 7. Y'all already met her 2012 version. But I've put her in other iterations too. Keep in mind tho, all of my Claddia's are in the process of being redesigned & updated. Starting with cartoons.

This version of her was originally Korean because when I was first creating her in general, I didn't know if I wanted Claddia to be black or Asian. But I decided on black for other versions since there's a lack of said race in TMNT in general. Although I've since then redesigned her & made her black since it just doesn't make sense to racebend her at all really & I definitely want to avoid the assumption that she isn't black here because 80s Baxter wasn't. As for her role in this incarnation she has a history with Baxter. The two were really close friends & science colleagues in their college years plus (maybe even more) but lost contact after Claddia moved out of New York, to continue her research. Granted she would eventually return to the big Apple especially to reconnect with Baxter. Unfortunately by this point in time he had already been mutated & it's basically a Simon & Betty situation with them especially since she'd later try to cure him & restore his memory even at the cost of her own normal life.

In the 2003 cartoon. She's a member of the EPF & Agent Bishop's right hand woman & the original leading scientist until Baxter was recruited after the Exodus arc. To put it bluntly. The two hate each other & are constantly budding heads especially regarding the other's IQ & overall importance on even being here. They do eventually start to grow a bit of respect for one another & become frenemies at most.

Once again as y'all noticed, she's in the 2012 series. This version of her is an inventor & scientist that doesn't take crap from anybody (as much as it bites her in the ass). She's also really egotistical & even short tempered. She met Baxter through coincidence as she's also had a bad run in with the turtles, & pretty much bonded & became close since then. Acting as a black cat gf to his golden retriever bf. It also helps that she knows how to fight without technology helping her.

In the Rise series she's pretty much a successful scientist & took Baxter's usual role as untrustworthy celebrity as she was secretly kidnapping & using mutants for her own purposes even teaming up with Baron Draxum in the process. But she's not one bit of a pushover & has backup plans for backup plans on how to screw over people. After the events of "The Mutant Menace" she bailed out Baxter & took him under her wing as her apprentice/mentee forming a little mother & son relationship.

In the Comics.

In the mirage universe, Claddia's a science nerd & huge fan of Baxter & even still remained loyal to him even AFTER what he did with his mousers & his terrorist stunt. It eventually led to her visiting him in prison & even helping him escape, secretly conspiring together & her falling in love with him as well. She also played a hand in his eventual break in to the DARPA facility for his robot rampage. Unfortunately, Stockman was only using her the whole time to succeed in his goals & betrayed & killed the poor woman.

Finally, in the IDW continuity she once again works for the EPF & is Bishop's top scientist. She's very different from most of the previous versions as she is pretty timid & just sticks to doing what she's informed to. As for her relationship with Baxter. She's once again a big fan of his work as a scientist & soon to be Mayor. Although two only met briefly when Baxter met with Bishop. Something that MIGHT change in her re-write. Tho one thing is the same. She was there in person the night of his election victory, including being in mutagen bomb distance

Yes Claddia does get mutated in 3 of these continuities. No I can't share them yet because I want to redesign em a bit & also because I'm at the photo limit & I don't feel like retyping all of this on desktop so I can do the more than 10 limit. But uh yeah. That's Ms. Brackston for y'all.

I'm an absolute simp for Bumblebee so any ship with him as the prey is perfect in my eyes.

The 3 ships that comes to mind immediately are BlitzBee, StarBee and MegaBee.

The Megabee scenario about a concerned Megatron worrying that Bee is distrustful of him while in reality the autobot is having the most insane thoughts were really funny lol.

So I'm curious in how you would go about the other two ships, if in all cases Bee is already into the idea and find it hot or if it's a life or death scenario as he is being hunted down by various deceptions ?

I'm rambling here, but all Im saying is that I need to hear more from you about this specific Predator/Prey dynamic bc I CRAVE MORE.

(also maybe a crossover with Bee ending up in the shattered glass universe to throw in some twisted autobots into the mix too 🫡)

okay so for BlitzBee it would absolutely be something that Blitzwing brought up first and you might think "oh was it Random joking about it or something?" no it was Icy looking Bee right in the eyes and just going "I want to hunt you for sport. would that interest you?" and at first Bee did not get it at all and was unsettled but he ends up getting curious which is how the first occurrence of them disappearing into the woods for a week happened

Bee would end up finding out that oh it actually is kinda hot to have all that adrenaline going kinda like right after a really tough race except the bit of fear tingling up his spine makes it interesting and then being caught and having Blitzwing roughly fuck into him with barely any prep at all hurt but still felt so so good and after waking up the next morning and thinking for a bit yeah he got it he got exactly why Blitzwing was interested in that and it ends up becoming a regular thing for the two of them where they just disappear and then show back up again like a week later Bee looking like he went through a wood chipper and his abdomen a bit bloated from all the transfluid he's been stuffed with the last week but his field brimming so brightly with a fuzzy happiness that no one wants to bring up that he needs to stop whatever he's been doing

aside from Ratchet that is lol he makes it very clear how much he dislikes having to do a full systems check on him but also does NOT want to know who he's been fucking bc he knows it would have to be a decepticon and he doesn't wanna know a damn thing about it

as for StarBee tbh I really couldn't see either of them being interested in it or bringing it up aside from like...rid15 StarBee bc rid15 Starscream is feral in a very specific way and yeah I could see him wanting to hunt Bumblebee down and then claim him once he's victorious

idk how Bee would feel about it tho I feel like he'd try it just the one time bc Starscream keeps suggesting they try something more adventurous and Bee would much rather one of them gets tied up instead of being forced to go galivanting through the woods at the behest of his—frankly deranged—boyfriend but he goes with it just to try it once and afterwards they'd discuss it and Bee didn't hate it but again he'd rather that Starscream just tie him up next time which Starscream would be happy to do so they just stick to berth activities that involve less of bee ending up facedown in the dirt...took a while to get everything out of his seams lol

and then idw StarBee it would never happen bc Starscream would be too busy trying to convince Bee to put him on a leash (which Bee is so tired of this conversation he doesn't wanna do petplay) to think about predator/prey shit lmao

and then MegaBee...oh MegaBee my beloved...this could work for so many continuities in my head but yeah earthspark would be the funniest but the extra size difference in tfa is also very sexy I would imagine in either scenario the seed would be planted in Bee's mind after either getting chased by Megatron for real at some point or in a dream and then the image just sticks there for a while

in earthspark it would be easier ofc since they're allies so eventually Bee would get the courage to bring it up to Megatron who would just be bewildered beyond all belief like "you want me to what??? why would you want that?? I've hurt you before!" and it would take a lot of convincing on Bee's part to get Megatron to agree especially bc he'd be like "but aren't you and Breakdown an item? I could have sworn he mentioned it last we spoke" and Bee would just be like "yeah we are but like you know how some humans have an agreement with their significant other about like having one other person that their partner would give them a pass about fragging? mine was you...and his was Knockout but I won't give you the details...he's got some interesting kinks that I don't have the literal claws for"

anyways Megatron would eventually relent in that scenario and agree to it bc he does find the idea of fucking Bee to be much more appealing than he'd expected and he wants to try something new but as soon as he's actually caught Bee and starts to manhandle him a bit Bee would start struggling and begging him to let him go or something and Megatron would definitely end up using their safeword he just wouldn't be able to do it

they'd have to sit down somewhere Megatron shaking a bit bc even tho he knew it was just a scene and that Bee was just playing the part the thought of him returning to how he once was terrifies him and they'd end up having a long conversation that ends with the decision that if they were to try something like that again they'd change it to be more lighthearted bc Megatron did enjoy the chase and doesn't mind getting a bit rough with his partners but even Bee pretending that he's scared and trying to get away is too much but yeah they'd figure it out and have a lot of steamy fun

tfa MegaBee would be wayyyy different tho Megatron would be so into it and Bee would be so in over his head but he'd be wobbling back to the autobot base later looking like he'd been in a ten car pile up but feeling more blissed out than he'd ever been lmao he'd think about it on and on for weeks hoping to get to do it again

as for if he ended up in shattered glass? oh primus help any poor Bumblebee who ends up in that situation and lets hope any of them would already be a little bit of a freak otherwise that would not be a fun trip for him lol

oh boy I ended up rambling a lot more than I thought I would lmao but I hope you're seeing my vision here there are so many Bumblebees and so many of them deserve to get chased through the woods and then bent over and getting their cute little valves stuffed until the only thing they can ever think about is getting to experience that thrill again

ough even just the thought of earthspark Bumblebee with his doorwings twitching and thick transfluid dribbling from his gaping valve after Megatron pulls out makes me feel so so insane I need to do unthinkable things to him

so yeah the individual scenarios would vary a lot but I feel like in most instances it wouldn't be Bumblebee who thinks of it unless there was some kind of inciting incident whether irl or some kind of strange dream but most people who get together with him end up wanting to hunt him for sport bc he's just so cute and even tho he's certainly not helpless he can play that act very well and look real cute while doing it and he's usually enough of a freak that he'd want to try it

...now that I think about it...tfa ProwlBee would also be interesting as I'm sure Prowl would love to finally shut that brat up and chasing him down to stuff him with a spike sure is one way to do it but I've prattled on long enough this post is getting wayyy too long lmao I am nothing if not a passionate man 😂

um um um you get. me talking about metal sonic. for very long.

the main sonic AU thing i have slow boiling up there is like. robian metal sonic theory except he gets deroboticized by accident except he's still 12 yrs old because robots dont age. and now he has to deal with a) being flesh and blood again b) being twelve years old. i rotate it in my mind with my sibling because metal sonic has become blorbo incredibly fast somehow and i blame Complex Inquiries on ao3 which is SO GOOD. also this fic it's evil. and basically my AU thing was lowkey spawned in opposition to it (AFFECTIONATE) because . stares at the sky. man.

gets a bit embarrassed gushing about it but proceeds anyway. ahem. (clears throat.) basically metal just slams head first into the roboticizor on little planet and the only person who witnessed this is sonic, but metal, having just had a Major Fucking Revelation (he did not know he's actually sonic from an alternate timeline) just Bolts and everyone who meets him just goes "hey why is classic sonic so sad. also why did he bite me. also why is he here." because considering generations and forces, why WOULDNT they assume he's classic sonic, right, and this just kinda pisses him off worse. because now he's being delegated not to "the sonic copy" but to "the baby sonic" so pick your poison honestly.

in my mind's eye he DOES look exactly like classic but like. more unkempt. gloves are torn so he can claw at people. (there's a whole dilemma about how he'd view his robot form as "superior" because a) it's actually faster (thanks to upgrades) than he is now as a 12yr old b) claws and lasers are simply cool c) customizable. (i love transfem metal sonic and HONESTLY honestly. if i play the long con that IS where this Au can end up. but only with a very careful long con and character development.)

so you have sonic, who is deeply confused because he ALSO doesn't know metal's backstory and just thinks metal got turned into a flesh and blood child somehow and man he has GOT to get that guy like a bath and some good chili dogs, everybody else wildly concerned why classic just blew up a town, and metal just exploding internally at all times.

very fond of the "classic is mute" hc also (tho i think that's just Game Canon thanks to generations) so metal also struggles to communicate a lot since robot hands werent actually dexterous enough to do sign properly and now he's suuuper rusty, as is everybody else who knew sonic back then, because they haven't needed to use sign for years.

i think at some point also metal just goes back to eggman. hey fucker turn me back into a robot i need to kill sonic absolutely right now. now the REAL kicker is eggman didn't even know metal's backstory, because the roboticizor is a design he just reconstructed from his future self back then, decided he wasnt gonna bother with something SOMEONE ELSE came up with, and then promptly forgot about it. so eggman is also confused. what do you MEAN you're metal sonic. what the fuck. ok i guess you can have some gauntlets and a jetpack go fuck shit up.

I also keep thinking abt What Continuity this would be set in because i fucking LOVE metal in idw i love his hesitation and his Choice to reject sonic's outstretched hand and go back to eggman and i ADORE his whole bit with Belle where she wants to save him and.

but there's also a lot of potential in Sage being Dad's Favorite when metal is very much eggman's special boy in idw. like Sage & Belle both have such unique perspectives about them but they don't exist alongside each other and metal has a different relationship w eggman compared between idw and the games that i can't decide which is more narratively interesting to pursue because "ok maybe you started warming up to your creator after the whole betrayal bit and a huge chunk of that does turn out to not just be programming but your own volition, and now when you were in trouble you turned back to him again, this time with No Shot of it having been programming, but now you get to remember that he's actually nothing to you and stole your future and committed the greatest possible atrocity against you" is. is a Bit for sure.

but also compared to "you hate him so fucking bad you need him dead but you need sonic dead even worse so you have no choice but to team up with him and are forced to reckon that he CAN be kind, he can be kind to someone who was the age you were once, but the version of him back then wasn't. she made him kinder but you weren't enough so you just get to suffer."

like metal definitely also just tries to blow up the world super sonic style 100%. and has to be talked down into at least accepting what happened so he can even begin to process it. and accept that the Sonic he Used To Be has been dead and gone for years. ego death has already occured. he's already been someone else for ages and it's about time she saw that at least.

which is of course where i can bring the transfem angle in as metal is forced to redefine herself and come to terms with her continued existence. yippie yay.

Heard your thoughts on idw 1's constructicons, but I'm curious about your thoughts on them in idw 2? With the whole mini spotlight they received and all.

Oof! This is going to be a long post. Buckle up and let's go.

First off, disclaimer: I've only read the parts of IDW 2019 where the Constructicons appeared (yep, even the final ones)

So what did I think of what I've read?

I FUCKING LOVED IT!! Mostly because it clears the most basic quota of all: it treats the Constructicons as their own individual characters.

It has so many little moments between them that just, hurg! I love the fact that their functions in the team are clearly and quickly mapped. I love the fact that they're not brothers or "built together" (why are they green and purple? Who knows? Maybe their grandmama Termagax wanted a little uniform.)

It also has my favorite version of "constructicon backstory" in the whole franchise. Mind that I hate the Enigma of Combination AND naturally occurring Combiners, but ignoring that, it's prime Constructicon material. The best part of this backstory is that it manages to integrate the: "these guys are not really evil" + "they were wronged" + "they still kinda fucked up in the head". It takes their agency away in a tasteful way that actually opens doors for further exploration of them, and I LOVE how they're a least a little bit skeptical of this whole "war" thing, but they still do it anyway.

Another thing that I like is that Nominus was not really in the wrong for sending them away? Picture this, you have these six guys who combine into a giant near unstoppable robot, he already showed signs of violent behavior near civilians, AND in the past, there was another giant robot that wrecked everything in its path... Sending them away is not only the right answer it's the logical one. Better yet, the moment the giant combiner guy is set free... He kills everybody, maybe you can call it a self-fulfilling prophecy due to circumstances, but like, Nominus was 100% in the right. The fun thing about this is the existential horror too! The Constructicons CANNOT stop being a gestalt, they bring back the physiological need for combination from IDW2005 in such a thoughtful way. (Nominus tries to go past that by keeping them low on energy, but they can't be malnourished forever bruv).

(IDK HOW THEY DEAL WITH COMPUTRON, I'M LOOKING ONLY AT THE GALAXIES COMICS).

Now, the big guy... Devastator... That was a really odd take on him... AND I LOVED IT! I love how they treat him as a straight-up other entity that just so happens to take the Constructicons' bodies for himself, (I stole this for my AU and portray it as an ego vs id thing). Another odd thing is his personality, especially in the Galaxies comic, because... He waxes poetically, Devastator waxes poetically the first time he is set free and proceeds to name himself?? THAT'S SO ODD! THAT'S SO COOL!

Now, what I didn't like... Uuh, the art (feel weird saying this as an artist myself). I respect Ramondelli's evolution, but... Sometimes his art takes away from the scene. I didn't like how Bombshell was the leader (c'mon! Kickback is the charismatic guy who pretends to be friendly! Throw the guy a bone!). Wheeljack was kinda weird? Sometimes it feels like he wants Termagax to fail (I liked Termagax tho, but no strong opinions), and finally, the dialogue is kind of flat at times.

I also need a paragraph to appreciate Bleszinski! Shout out to him because he also loves the Constructicons, his posts on twt the year the comic was launching, how he explained all of his choices with the characters, and how he still tweets about them to this day(good to know your shoes reminded you of them, Sir)! Like, he actually wanted the best for the Constructicons and to portray them in the best way he could! (I love you, Bleszinski, for canonically making Long Haul a logistician, but I hate you for having such a big collection of Constructicon memorabilia that I'll never be able to top 😒.)

All in all. I mildly liked them. Yep, normal amount!

Thank you for clearing up on the misinformation around the BTS (behind the scenes) of Megatron’s redemption arc. I knew something was off when I couldn’t find the information anywhere in both the fandom nor the TFWiki. And this is coming from someone who really likes TVTropes (though I do admit I have my own fair share of issues with the site but that is for another time).

Another thing that had me confused was TVTropes’ claim that JRO had “protection from the editors” by the time Season 2 of MTMTE rolled along. I remember being like “huh???” when I pulled up the TFWiki pages for the Season 2 MTMTE and Lost Light issues and seeing that they did have editors (Season 2 literally had John Barber for almost the entire run while Lost Light had a change in editors) this whole time. And it got me wondering —

Did the editors get extremely busy with their own projects and things (especially Barber given that he was also writing his own series (Ex-RID and Optimus Prime)) or did they let JRO do whatever he wanted with his writing? Or was it a case of “JRO told the editors to get off of his back so he could write what he wanted to write?” Given how divisive Season 2!MTMTE and Lost Light were in the fandom (I’d admit I liked both series, even with their flaws and all), did something happen to cause what was perceived to be a change in “quality?”

While I do agree the writing got messier, I have no reason to believe it was because JRo got special treatment or was allowed to do whatever he wanted. The only thing that comes to mind is that because most of his cast were C-listers, he could get away doing whatever with them. But this is a condition that existed from the very beginning of Mtmte, if anything, the adition of Megatron would mean a decrease in freedom, not an increase.

Another "perk" Mtmte had was that after Dark Cybertron, which notoriously felt out of place for Mtmte's plot because it had to halt everything to bring the characters back to Cybertron for the event, people seemed to realize Mtmte's roadtrip setting doesn't lend itself well to events. For Titans Return, JRo could keep things from interfering with his main plot by using the side characters in Luna-1, a similar case being Mtmt's one-shot for Revolution (on top of JRo and Roche being asked to do "the fun one") and then Lost Light just didn't took part in any events. But these events are known for getting in the way, not participating in them is not a reason for the writing to get worse. However, JRo still had to do things like relinquish character's so Defensor could show up in Combiner Wars, which got in the way of First Aid's arc. He wasn't beyond exec meddling.

JRo is notorious for his extremely demanding scrips, to the point Nick Roche quit being Mtmte's artist after one issue, being replaced by Milne who could take it because he has no chill. Roche and Roberts are friends tho, and there were no ill feelings between them. And again, this was the case even for the early scripts. I have never known of an editor suggesting that JRo is a particulary hard person to work with.

Barber was the editor for all of Mtmte's run and is no surprise that he quit come Lost Light. See, not only was he doing exRID/OP, but even before phase 3 (when exRID and Mtmte got relaunched as OP and LL) he was writing other series/side stories, doing a lot of editorial work and also being the guy whose job was to communicate with Hasbro's reps. Come phase 3, IDW decided to introduce the Hasbroverse and do non-stop crossovers with all the Hasbro IP's they adquired. Barber not only co-wrote many of these crossovers, he also took part in coordinating the whole thing. Like, this man is arguably the most prolific TF writer by page count on top of all his other jobs. He had no time for Lost Light.

Which is a pity! Because I do think Lost Light had a drop in quality and I do think it was in part due to Barber leaving the editor position. He and JRo seemed to work well together but also, one of JRo's biggest flaws is that he has a lot of ideas he wants to introduce and it sort of makes thigns get out of hand and loss focus. Barber's biggest strenght is keeping everything thematically tight and relevant no matter how much stuff there is.

Carlos Guzman was the editor for Lost Light originally but after issue #13 it switched to David Mariotte. I have no idea why this happened, but Guzman was the editor for all Transformers titles at the time so maybe he didn't have the time, who knows. Still I don't think he was as well suited for this series as Barber and when Mariotte came in the focus was in wrapping it all up.

But this is just my guess, I cannot say for certain that Lost Light wouldn't have had a drop in quality had Barber stayed. After all, season 2 already showed some struggles particularly with the fact that Megatron as a character was not suited for this roadtrip story and the plot had to bend under his gravity and other character's arcs got side-lined as a result. Who knows? In the end, we got what we got.

It is possible that as JRo proved himself as a writer, he was given more leeway, but that doesn't mean he would be allowed to do whatever he wanted with no supervision.

I've been in the bsd fandom since...2018/2019 I think. I started with the anime. I remember being so early that at that time, almost all the bsd reviews were negative. I went to reddit, I think I went to my-anime-list too, and other websites and it was full of negative reviews. So I went into bsd with a rather "eh" mindset 😅 but I was bored that time and had nothing else to watch and I saw it on Netflix so yeah 👍

For me, I started on sonamy because it was the canon ship of sega at the time but what really rope me in were the fanfics more so than canon (favourite sonamy is boom sonamy).

I agree that sonamy in most sonic games and lore is one-sided romantically. Amy the fan girl/damsel in distress and sonic the hero. A bit of a love at first save really. (I am not a fan of love at first sight, i don't get it but then again I'm a demisexual so... :p)

Canonly speaking, Anyone with half a brain cell can see that Sonic charities Amy as a great friend just like he does with everyone else. However when it comes to romantic wise is another thing entirely. Sonic is a free soul that loves adventuring and exploring the wonders of the world all while kicking eggman and any villians' butts. He does have his moments where he's a bit of flirt now and then.

I think sonic opposed more to the repetitive sappy gestures than being in a romantic relationship itself. For a guy like sonic, repetitive actions that lack action and excitement can easily bored him or disinterest him. He likes his freedom and probably thinks dating will tie him down or something of the sort (since that is how Amy always portrays it) But since he values Amy as a friend, he pushed that aside and goes along with it even when slightly uncomfortable.

But Amy also kinda make it seems like he has to do it, which to me can easily made a person unease or uncomfortable(especially when threatened with a hammer) Amy, in some case, can also be toxic and manipulative whether she realises it or not. She is a good person don't get me wrong but I hate how sega handled her character in early sonic games. 'self-proclaimed girlfriend', if that doesn't scream a bit of entitlement I don't know what does. Her character traits can't only be that she likes sonic and has a hammer come on.

Amy is a passionate and strong person, she can be stubborn but she stands for what she believes in. She encourages others to be the best version of themselves. She helps persons see reasons(like with Shadow in SA2) She is a fighter, not the damsel in distress(tho even heroes needs saving/a helping hand)

Tho also keep in mind, both are still young and have a whole life ahead of him. Both still have a lot of time to grow but at the same time both live dangerous lives, especially Sonic and his hero complex.

What I love for sonamy is authors' portrayal of these two personalities and interests and how it would work for these two.

Some sonamy authors tone down Amy's obsession with Sonic and let her be her own person rather than having her personality built on her being Sonic's love interest. (I would link some however my mind is of a goldfish so I don't remember titles and my fanfics list is a garbage dump so...:p)

For this reason is why I love canon boom sonamy the most. Amy is her own person and you can see the two genuine love they have for each other (whether as friends or lovers, however you want to interpret), Amy isn't afraid to call Sonic out if he being dumb, same via versa. She doesn't put him on this high horse and acknowledge his strength as well as weakness. She also doesn't baby him or play favourite cause she 'likes' him. She stands her ground because she wants what she thinks is best for her friends (tho it doesn't always work out that way but that's just life)

On the other hand with sonadow, I had always loved rivals to lovers and opposite attract. This is a chaotic ship and i am here for it. I like a ship I can take from scratch and built it up, showing the journey from one point to other. The struggles, the reward and the bickering, especially the bickering

Now canonly speaking, the two started out as enemies, (which at this point is just a trend for sonic, befriending his enemies in one way or another) shadow being awoken by Eggman and so on (you know how it goes)

Shadow, following the game timeline(which is all over the place at this point, was one the first person sonic lost (I think). Sonic finally found someone who could give him a run for his rings (literally) and the moment they get along to team up, he loses him.

Fast forward to the Shadow the hedgehog game, shadow is revived or whatnot, (I know they're is a route where he teams up with Sonic but I for the life of me can't remember).

The two form a rivalry at this point. Sonic pushing Shadow's button and Shadow rebutting in turn. Sonic get a trill out of their competition like he does with all his other rivals/friends(like jet and knuckles) we all know Sonic like a challenge. He was never one for easy/slow. And shadow can easily match his speed and hold on his own, being the ultimate lifeform and all.

Despite Shadow's cold exterior, he respect Sonic and his moral, they share a common goal which is protecting this planet, though both go different ways about it. Shadow has never hesitate to access Sonic if the situation calls for it. Of course the two still bicker even when working together.

Also keep in mind that Shadow has his own issues to work out. It's not really addressed in the games. However you can't dismiss Shadow's trauma: watching someone who was basically a sister to you, dead to save you. Killed by the same persons you 'work for'.yeah... that can mess anyone up.

Shadow is calculative and a realist, he gets all the facts before he acts tho he does have his moments of reckless(nobody's prefect, ultimate lifeform or not)

Sonic is the complete opposite, relying more on his instincts and guts. Rushing in head first in any situation. And like shadow, he too has his moments where he thinks before he acts

I see them as yin and Yang, in a sense.

The two balance each other, all while pushing each other to push pass their limits constantly (cus they're both competitive)

Shadow has own way of expressing emotions which takes time to understand. He is blunt and doesn't hold back. He calls Sonic out without sugarcoating it. He see Sonic as another being rather than the 'untouchable hero'.

Beside the two are entertaining to watch, (like I said I like chaotic in all forms) and no one is getting hurt...well not life threatening at least but Sonic is a guy that lives on the edges, the danger zone.

And again both are young and still have a long way to go and many things to learn and all that.

(I would include Sonic Prime in this however I had no idea where it would fall in the sonic timeline so...yeah)

Fanfic wise, the portrayal of Sonic and Shadow in some fanfic are just incredible. Shadow's slowly understand the world around him while dealing the expectations of being the ultimate lifeform(that he puts on himself). Sonic having someone who he doesn't have to hold back against, someone who can keep up. Someone he respect and who respects him in turn (even if he,shadow, would never admit to his face, sonic had an ego no surprise there) there are many portrayal of the two that just leave me speechless and wanting more.

All in all, everyone has different taste and what they look for in a ship. So some like the cliche sappy romance, others like the complex back and front romance.

Personally, like ships with favour, let them have problems, I don't want a yes girl/boy, it's gets boring after a while. (No one is prefect, relationships are not linear. There isn't a right way for a couple to look. It all depends on the persons involved) essentially I like a romance with plot. So I also ship based on that potential in fanfic. The 'what if', the build up to that relationship and the sweet satisfaction when they finally do.

Sonadow, Sonamy...

OK so we all know that there's a civil mid-joke war inside the Sonic Fandom about preferences between Sonadow and Sonamy, right?

And, I thought, "hey, what if I actually give my opinion about this one ship because I actually can relate this one to my, less romance-inclined, more lore-related train if thought about these guys?"

REMINDER THAT THIS WILL NOT SIDE WITH EITHER SIDE MUCH UNTIL THE END ("In my humble opinion..." part)

THERE'S ALSO AN ANALYSIS! But at the end, since it's more of a personal analysis that is not fully factual, just a study of the characters.

Yeah so here it goes...

(Everything with a "*" means that it will be explained at the end with the more "sonic" stuff, less related to the ship.)

Sonamy

Realistically, Amy was created to be more of "just an addition to the Sonic team" with more female representation. She started off as just Sonic's girlfriend or love interest, even though he never showed as much interest for her as she did for him. In short, her interest in him did show since she made her first appearance, clearly showing that that would be the main or most shown romantic relationship in the franchise.

At the beginning, she was completely a Sonic fangirl and had much interest in him, specifically shown in shows or some comics... but as they realized the potential of the character, they stopped making her whole reason to be there sonic, changing it slightly, but still firing the character. This also meant that they stopped making her be "madly in love" or that interested in sonic, who was never interested in the first place. This, outside of the franchise is clearly the creators noticing the potential of a character with a heart as big as Amy's, but inside of the franchise it was probably her maturing (going from typical teenage romance-obsessed phase to just a normal crush), which was (ok this one thing is my opinion, yeah...) a big improvement to the character, to give her a story, more personality...

Now, about the ship itself... Sonamy has always been one-sided, or at least in most cases. And this had been stated and was seen clearly throughout the franchise (ok realistically I did not watch sonic boom but that one is not really canon in the main story which is the one that I am talking about). At first, maybe it was not shown in a very modern or uh... less obvious way... but listen the 90's are the 90's ok. but they showed it nonetheless. So, respectfully, Sonamy has not been canon from both sides clearly in most of the canon storyline.

So yeah I think we can all accept that no matter how gay it looks we have no proof that they are canon with facts and from a less biased point of view...

We have Sonic's line "I heart you too, Shadow" hope that's enough to feed ya xd

Nah but seriously there is an analysis to these two, it's just not that based in facts and hints like Sonamy had.

The analysis...

Now that the factual part has been explained, let's see this from a more Sonic POV, okay?

Sonic

Sonic is a character that likes to do everything, achieve everything, and be the fastest. His quote is quite literally "Gotta go fast". Of course, in a relationship, he would, not only be interested in, but also need, someone who can "keep up", as toxic as that sounds. He does not really need someone as fast as him, just someone that he can trust to be there by his side at every fight (or most of them), someone who will be at his level enough to fight by his side, otherwise it would be too dangerous. Something else that I've noticed is that the ones he is closest with, or has shown more attachment towards, are also people that can keep him with his feet on the ground, people that know when and how to say "You are not going to do this" and convince him, or, people to just keep him company and remind him who he is when he forgets (and, hey, it's Sonic, he also likes to have a few laughs).

As coincidental as that sounds, being able to both keep up and slow him down are traits that both characters mentioned earlier fulfil (yeah maybe Shadow more specifically... but shut up this is also supportive for Sonamy shippers ok LET THEM BE HAPPY LET THEM ALL BE HAPPY)

In any case, Sonic is a free-spirited supersonic hedgehog that will go wherever he wants whenever he wants, he helps people that are in trouble if he has the chance, and will fight and laugh alongside people who were once, currently are, or have tried to keep up. But being in a relationship itself is more effort than occasional visits, and Sonic knows that; he will be in a relationship with someone that can "keep up" and stand by him for the good of both of them. Obviously, he will also give, put in the effort to make the relationship work, but he knows who, when he gives 50, can give back 50, and those are people that will keep up with his adventures.

In my opinion... (the logic of the analysis applied to my train of thought, this is more biased from now on)

Sonamy

I understand why people see these two as a cute couple. Honestly, it makes sense. She does fulfil most of the traits and he does fulfil many of her expectations, from what I have seen of her...

But it's the keeping up part. Amy is a kind, warm hedgehog who loves nature and loves protecting nature. I have always had the feeling that, at some point (when she's a young adult probably), she would get a small house, near a natural area, where all her friends are, and stay there to protect them in that area. She would stay in one place that would fully grow on her and she would spend all her life there, protecting what she wishes to fight for and taking care of nature, as well as some visits every now and then to her friends if they are far away.

I have never been a fan of the concept of a one-sided ship, due to how toxic it can be. But there is something about the way that Amy, even with her crush, respects Sonic's boundaries, that makes me feel like this is the one single one-sided ship I find interesting and perfect as it is. Sonic is not uncomfortable with her, on the contrary, he enjoys spending time with her a lot, but when she goes to a more romantic mode, he does seem more uncomfortable in most cases.

Plus... this one small part is way more of a personal opinion, but Amy staying single and possibly being a single mother feels very in-character and sweet.

Sonadow

Shadow. As cryptic as he chooses to be at times, he has shown that he cares about Sonic before, which for the character, someone who lost everything in a person who meant the universe to him, is quite a lot. He has been open- or as open as he can be- with Sonic before, which clearly makes their friendship-rivalry slightly more different that his relationship with other people. Shadow's only "problem" is that at times he cannot express himself well.

They respect each other, even if they don't always show it. They care about each other, and even admire some actions the other does. Their rivalry is not toxic, it's just competitive.

Shadow does have the traits that Sonic would be most interested in, like Amy, but in his case, he is less feeling, but he can definitely keep up and even slow Sonic down. He has followed him when he thought he could put the world or himself in dagger multiple times, but he has not shown that well his ability to encourage Sonic (yeah no he has his own way with words and that way is not saying anything, much less to someone with Sonic's high self-esteem)

Apart from that, my pov again for the future, both of them could make great parents, and their relationship in a family could be interesting since they already act like a married couple xd but then again, Sonic does not seem like the kind of person who will just have a kid unless something "eye-opening" or lifechanging happens to him.

Conclusion

But then again this is just an analysis that would be in case he would settle with either of them for life, so it might not be the best if we are just keeping them with their current age or a bit older xd

Plus, this is more related to their personalities, facts and lore... since I'm not the most adequate to judge how romantic and other kinds of attraction work haha (aroace nation rISE)

Also, as un-biased as this is, this still has a bit of personal opinion, so don't take it too canon and stuff

And remember everyone had the right to have their own opinions, even if we don't like them. Respect everyone and their opinions! They aren't hurting anyone anyway, right? (unless it's something highly immoral or just straight up not legal worldwide)

So yeah, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you ship Sonamy, Sonadow or something else, we're all just having fun after all, and if you insult people's opinion you're just being the angry bully in the playground who steals toys and breaks them because it's fun for them, a bitch.

Sheesh imagine the turtles being little and not understanding who Tang Shen is yet and one day Splinter hears one of them call her their mom and freaks out on them, explicitly saying she is NOT their mother. She was his wife, was the mother of his daughter, but she is NOT their mother or ever would be.

I feel like it would be a possibility. Especially when he is still younger and learning how to be a father. I think in the show he keeps his human life separate from his current mutated life. Or at least he views them separately. Like a life he lost and mourns and a life he is currently living. So i could see him when he is raising the boys, making sure that they know the difference between the two.

But back to Tang Shen being alive! I dont know if youve read any of the IDW comics but the one where they are humans reincarnated, none of the turtles know until Splinter tells them and the only one who gets memories of their past life is Leo because the other three were very little and he remembers his mom(still Tang Shen in the comics) and grieves her on some level. Which is why I love the idea of him secretly being a mama's boy but refusing to admit it. Like Mikey being a mama's boy FITS so good(also someone who can teach him how to cook more than eggs or pizza?? The dream!). But i like the idea that while Leo looks up the Splinter and still strives to be a good son and more like his father. He secretly really loves Tang Shen because she doesnt expect him to carry so many burdens the way Splinter does with him being the oldest/leader. She wants him to have fun like his brothers and wants him to enjoy his youth. So yeah i think he'd secretly be a mama's boy but unwilling to say it.

Do you think they'd still live in the sewer? Would Tang Shen live with them or live on the surface since she is still human? Maybe her and Karai live in an apartment close to a manhole cover so they can go down and visit them often. Or the boys can come and visit them too.

Or maybe that's only a "in the beginning" situation when she is still getting used to Splinter's mutation and when their relationship is more stable she chooses to live in the sewer to be closer to him and the turtles?

I haven’t read the IDW comics (yet…) but I’ll keep that in mind for Leo! I just felt like it’d be nice for Raph to have a parent that he can turn to since Leo has always had Splinter, but I do love the idea that Leo is secretly a huge mama’s boy, like that’s adorable.

I think that for a short while, Tang Shen would live in an apartment close to the sewers when everything is new and her marriage is on pause. The conflict between Yoshi, Saki, and Shen put too much stress on her and at the moment, she’s focused on finding Miwa- who they know Saki/Shredder has, but don’t know how to rescue her yet. This would be before she cements herself as the turtles’ mother, but during this time she’d be willing to help them however she can and be their main resource for beds, clothes, food, etc.

A while later, maybe a year or just a few months, the turtles get really attached to her and start asking if they can call her mom. Tang Shen starts to realize that she’s fully committed to the boys like Splinter is, and moves into the sewers to be closer. She’s still on the hunt for Miwa and will stop at nothing, but much like her husband, she’s expanded her family in the meantime. Her and Splinter still won’t continue their relationship quite yet, but they’ll be very loving nonetheless. Things will stay this way as the story moves into canon :)

Out of all the complaints about IDW Sonic’s principles i find the one most perplexing is him being consider an asshole for defending his beilefs ot his friends instead of I dunno a character flaw.

Forgive if I’m more open to more flawed Sonic interpretation so I’m explaining this more on that angle instead of the more role model game portrayals . But I don’t see the comic as making his ideals the absolute correct way considering characters openly argue over against him. Which while he stubborn buckles down on his beilefs still lets them argue with him and even then still on good terms with them. 

Only example I could see as mean spirited is the Sonic and Shadow panel that tends to be brought up alot. I’ll agree their could be couterarguements on if Sonic should have manipulate Shadow feelings their or not. (adding factor of Sonic booked into a corner trying defend who he beileved was an innocent man at the time) Unfortually considering that Shadow is being pushed into a more rival\vegeta type where BOTH writers admit they were restricted to how to write him, I feel that hinders the scene in hidsight. (not an excuse, just a possible explaination)

I’d say the grip that I do agree with is Eggman with Tinker situation since Sonic does feel he could change him when we know its never really gonna happen as the main villain. (sidenote if you want Sonic to subdue villains you should really focus on that prison in bad guys just sayin) Tho I feel that been dropped in recent arcs since Sonic’s interaction with Eggman now is just escaping from or stopping him via explosion like the games again. (aka beginning of Zeti Arc)

Aside from it being too preachy in recent issues I admit but one thing I appreciate now is now only their is more challenge of Sonic’s beilefs getting called out but Sonic struggling to hold on it.

Unironcially I think this scene holds up better on in hidsight now knowing their going to be more to this. The story actually pulls Sonic principles into the focus and brings up the drawbacks of the one time he was actually merciful (which for Sonic’s defense aside from the Metal decision I feel are pretty reasonable at the time) I apreciate that for one spilt panel he seen to either be in thought or hestiants before answering cause he does a silmilar thing when he defeats Surge.

Also why I can’t really see Sonic being unremorseful here cause the expression in that pause before he re-focus himself on another objective makes it feel he had some regret in how he dealt with Surge. Keep in mind Surge literally came up to him and declare he ruined her life and then proceeds to just threaten him in action before he had time to even process what she said to him. Can understand if some would have wanted Sonic to be more understanding but I can also why he’s more tough love stance here since she’s so aggressive to him. Eitherway it didn’t work out 

But yea its not perfect and not even my favorite aspect of the comics, butI do feel their is decently to good structure where they can go with this.

I'm operating under the assumption you're talking about the character and not just my general headcanons for the series so here are my headcanons about The Boy.

First off I headcanon that Sonic is trans, as many people have pointed out Sonic lacks the chest fur most male hedgehogs have, instead having the tan chest more common in female characters, plus as a few pointed out with the IDW "imposter syndrome" comics Surge was introduced when it was announced as a clone of Sonic of sorts, but where Sonic was male, Surge was female, however Kit- Tails' [clone]- was still male. I haven't been keeping up with those comics tho.

Related to that headcanon, Sonic chose his own name in relation to his speed power. He probably thought he was super clever for that one lmao.

I also think he's gay, and that's probably related to his discomfort and awkwardness regarding Amy's feelings for him.

However I can think of two characters I like to imagine he is romantically attracted to, Knuckles and Shadow. He has a thing for badass redheads I guess.

That, or he has a thing for ex-enemies who can beat the everloving shit out of him.

I love to think that he just, like, genuinely hates Eggman. Like, sure, Eggman is a pretty lovable villain, despite constant attempts at world domination he's just a little guy, but I also think you're out of your fucking mind if you think I'm going to just brush over his destruction of South Island's animals via roboticizing them in the original game, constantly endangering Sonic's life and that of his best friend, turning Knuckles against them, unleashing a literal god to wreak havoc, blowing up half the moon to threaten the world into submitting, blowing a HOLE IN THE EARTH TO UNLEASH ANOTHER GOD, ELECTRICALLY MORPHING SONIC INTO A WOLF MONSTER, THROWING HIM OUT OF HIS WEIRD DICK-SHAPED SPACE WEAPON, KEEPING HIM AS A PRISONER OF WAR FOR SIX MONTHS, no. No, Eggman is maybe a lovable little guy of a villain to the fans, but not to Sonic himself. He hates Eggman.

I actually hc that Sonic has just a lot of repressed anger from the shit he's gone through in the various games. Why do you think I'm obsessed with the concept of Dark Sonic so much it's LITERALLY a Super Sonic transformation dominated by his intense anger I would KILL to see this in a future game.

Ok as for some more lighthearted headcanons-

Sonic is pretty strong for his size (partially due to the repressed anger issue) and hfhdfkghf I came up with the headcanon a while ago that Sonic can lift Shadow up and carry him bridal-style with ease and it's now my favorite.

He has ADHD and I don't think a single part of this fandom will disagree with me on that.

Sonic is TERRIBLE at flirting. Good for making a complete fool of himself, but unfortunately, that's not what he wants when he tries to flirt. Despite putting on a suave overconfident persona and generally being very confident and cocky, the kid's a disaster.

(Doesn't help that neither of his crushes get flirting in the first place, let alone his awful attempts at it.)

After your post about Sonic Frontiers, and especially after reading your favourite character is also Tails, now I'm curious about the rest of your "Sonic opinions". Have you considered posting more of your thoughts on the Sonic series as a whole? Not necessarily multiple posts, it could be just one post with a compilation.

Regarding Tails's role in the series, there have been a few debates for a while after most Sonic fans' disappointment at his role in Sonic Forces. The big problem is that there seems to be quite some overlap between "badass Tails" fans and those Gohan fans who think he was ruined during the Majin Buu saga (the Dragon Ball fandom's endemic toxic masculinity is also added to the mix), while other fans genuinely believe Tails is more compelling when he only fights through gadgets at most and strictly stays an underdog as the story focuses more on his friendship with Sonic and Tails being raised by him. I wrote a post with my thoughts on that debate the night before the Sonic 2 movie was released [https://mashounen2003.tumblr.com/post/678734119366213632]. This is indeed a very complicated topic, with both sides being a bit hypocritical sometimes.

On an unrelated note (sort of), I've been working on a summary of ideas for a Sonic fanfic... although I barely progressed on it this year; also, I must warn you it's not set in the videogames' universe but in the SatAM cartoon's universe with elements from the Archie comics, and the SatAM & Archie continuity isn't everyone's cup of tea. Anyway... Both your Dragon Ball posts and those of DBMeta inspired me for many things I already added to my story or I'm planning to add in later chapters. Sonic does take a lot from DBZ after all, so why not fully embrace that heritage while also applying those analyses of yours in order to provide a refreshing experience instead of the average crossover fanfic?

I haven't really considered posting my thoughts on Sonic stuff because I don't really care for the series after Sonic Unleashed in 2008, then 2009 when Jason Griffith & the other Sonic voice actors were recasted. Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed & Sonic Mania were fun tho. Sometimes read the IDW comics too. Mainly after Sonic Unleashed, the series lost its charm for me. But I will keep it in mind to make a post(s) of my thoughts about the series.

Thats another thing... Making Tails and other not playable limits the storytelling. They cant be involved much in the story besides being a charafter Sonic bounces dialogue off of and has to save. These characters could save themselves. Heck! They have saved Sonic! Tails has done so multiple times. From the classic games to the Adventure games, Heroes, 06, spin off games, ect.

As for the "badass Tails" that some fans see? I don't see that and never saw that. That's an exaggeration. Tails was never a "badass." Tails falls under a different category of cool. Here's the thing about Tails that differs from Gohan; Gohan didn't want to become a fighter, Tails wanted to go on adventures. And furthermore, Tails originated as a high-speed adventurer & combatant of sorts. Sonic was fine how he was, but Tails needed something to make him stand out more. Later, to make him more unique, Tails was made into the brains of the group ALONG WITH his adventurous & combat experience. So we have Tails originate as a fighter, then become the tech-fighter who would often go on his own adventures when Sonic was on his. So thats one point I think we disagree on. I do not see Tails as a nerd Sonic. Imo, thats similar to saying Knuckles is a strong Sonic. These characters are unique enough and have their own personalities that they are not clones of Sonic. Tails being similar to Sonic is fine because brothers often share similarities. But they are still very different in tsrms of personality and gameplay.

The new stuff from 2010 to present that was written by Pontac & Graff is bad. It made Sonic, Tails, & Knuckles behave more like the Babylon Rogues than themselves. Th games of the 2010's stripped Tails of what was always an established part of his character and only left the "gadgets guy" part of his character. That's like taking away Knuckles strength or Sonic's speed. And they did so just to have tails sit on the sideline. This was because SEGA heard criticisms from critics and some fans that they hate "Sonic's stupid friends." so SEGA stupidly sabotaged their own characters. So how should Tails be? Like he was in Adventure 2, Heroes, the Sonic Advanced games, Riders & Zero Gravity, Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed. Tails was not always playable but he was going on adventures of his own and just happened to meet up with Sonic sometimes. And he may have been scared of what are basically demons in Sonic Unleashed, but he fought Eggman robots right along with Sonic during the flying stages. And in the meantime he was gathering intel or actively helping Sonic when he was playable. They took away a critial part of Tails' character and that is just dumb. Sonic Movie 2 understands Tails much better. (Which is why Sonic Team is trying to make Tails like that now, which is simply who Tails was in the 2000's. In Frontiers, Sonic says to Tails that he is fast like him.and smart like Eggman. The games of the 2010's took the speed and aventure away from Tails and left him with only brains. The Sonic Movie 2 captures both his speed and intelligence. Sonic Team has lost their way and are now relying on a movie to correct their own characters...)

The love that Sonic Team had back in the day is gone. Its saddening. The characters were awesome back then! They were inspirational and relatable. I feel that things started going further south after Yuji Naka left and SEGA made Sonic Team release games before they were ready just to have a holiday release, & kept splitting up the team for stupid reasons.

Even with Frontiers, I felt that Sonic Team is trying to copy what made the recent Sonic The Hedgehog Movies so great. The Sonic Movies looked to Sonic's past in order to make an enjoyable movie for the fans. Why can't Sonic Team do that? Becauae the love isnt there anymore. Not like it used to be. Frontiers has Sonic dancing more, give him blue lightning and eyes temporarily turning blue, Frontiers has "Don't Stop Me Now" by Freddie Mercury for their launch trailer music because Sonic Movie 1 had a scene with that song in it.

I think we might be better off if Sonic Team just made a game based off of the Sonic Movies and written by somebody else. The characters and story would at least be fun.

And as a comparison, Luigi is more iddntical to Mario than Tails is to Sonic. Yes Luigi & others are playable while SEGA made the mistake of limiting their cast in most of their games after 2010. If SEGA wants to copy Nintendo, copy their usage of characters & use that to seel merch which results in more revenue. Dont copy Mario Galaxy like they did with Sonic Lost World.

I do like the SatAM Sonic series. I dont remember much of it but it was enjoyable and fun. A fic anout that sounds cool. I used to write my own Sonic fics & even had ideas for games. I might need to read more Sonic fics tho. Been many years since I read them. (One I remember was a Tails and Blaze adventure which made me ship the two lol.) Curious as to what you write. I wont remeber everything from SatAM but I can still enjoy it. And I'm also a fan of DBZ elements in Sonic. That why I liked the games up to Unleashed & Sonic X. They kinda felt like anime stories. Gohan is a scholar who fights. He's not a badass, he's a powerful goofball. Which is basically like Goku & Krillin. Gohan actually takes aspects from both Goku & Krillin for his character. Thinking he's a badass or just a weak nerd is silly. Those are fans who only have surface level knowledge of the characters or are fans who have been misguided by the fandom's inaccurate and beta male ideas of what masculinity is. A man takes care of what's his & will do what he needs to do to protect them. Not simply "fight fight fight." (Most ppl in the DB fandom are illogical "beta males" who think they are "alphas" or are women who are fooled by their own illogical thinking that "beta" characteristics are desirable "alpha" characteristics. Kinda funny how backwards so many ppl are.)

So, unlike Tails, Gohan did not want to get involved in combat. He was forced into it while Tails made the choice to fight along Sonic. Neither are badasses. But both are reluctant to fight at times. They are peaceful people. I never seen either of them as badasses. Just intelligent people and intelligent fighters when they need to fight.

I didn't get "any IDW criticism is blocked" from that TKP tweet tho. She said she has her own critique and she's fine with general criticism (acknowledging flaws but still enjoy what is good). More like if you're focused in how IDW Ian and Evan sucks to the point you keep using any second/third-hand info or out of context screenshot to "prove" how bad they are (you guys may disagree but that's what it looks like) it's not worth her time.

Ehhh, I kind of feel you’re missing the fact that they actually assumed that we’re ‘narrow’ in ‘our vision’ of Sonic, which is actually SEGA/Sonic Team’s vision for Sonic in general. They basically called us ‘immature’ and ‘narrow-minded’ in those tweets, when we only just want to provide a different way of seeing what Flynn and Stanley say.

I can agree we can get a bit irritating at times, but that’s because we haven’t seen improvement. I’m going to be frank -- you sound exactly like TKP in that post, throwing us under the bus when all we really want is improvement in Flynn and Stanley. That fact that we’re ‘irritating’ and ‘needing’ to ‘prove’ how ‘bad’ they are is because people like you are denying our points have any merit, instead pretending that only good and positive thoughts are the only things allowed to exist around Flynn and Stanley. We’re only annoying is because you want to avoid it.

Eugenesis, Part Six Scene Four: Xenon Info-Dumps For Five-And-A-Half Pages

Alright, back to bullshit.

Galvatron is being a rude little turd to Xenon, calling his robot collection old and dusty, but Xenon’s too wrapped up in the Quintesson/Cybertronian lore to be bothered. Ultra Magnus just wants to know what the fuck he’s done with the Matrix.

You heard the man, out with it.

So, back when the Quintessons first started out, they were known as the Progenitors- yeah, I know- a quasi-organic race who went from caveman-level intelligence to full-blown hard sci-fi sons of guns at an incredibly rapid rate.  

Problem is, they didn’t get any further than that. They tried, sure. They tried real hard, for millions of years. Then, once their inspiration had run out, they started looking to other races to try and figure something out.

This just in, god is dead and James Roberts killed him by turning him into a glorified OS.

So, P.R.I.M.U.S. is encoded onto these geodes, and they become sentient. Sometimes they think they’re god.

Just like everyone else in this story.

Now that the Quintessons knew about these little god-doodads, they wanted one for themselves, to try and reverse-engineer the secret to immortality. They hired some guys called the Weavers to nab one for them.

This is some serious nerd shit, y’all. Galvatron agrees with me- he’s never even heard of any of the things Xenon’s droning on about. Neither have I- this is all Roberts at this point.

The Weavers brought back two geodes to the Quintessons, who promptly hid them away until the Masters cooled off a bit, since they were a little miffed about the thievery and whatnot. Then they noticed a couple problems: A) the geodes were encrypted to the moon and back, and B) if you so much as looked at the thing wrong it would purge the Lifecode completely.

Didn’t Optimus throw this thing at Unicron a couple times? Maybe the geode just doesn’t like you, Xenon, ever thought of that?

In order to decode the geodes, the Quintessons needed massive computers. Y’know, like God. But before they could really get a head start on that, the Masters’ nanobot enforcers showed up, blocking out the sky like a giant swarm of angry wasps. They wrecked shopped on Quintyxia- the old one, not the new one- and the Quintessons ran for it. They headed for the planet where they’d buried the other geode, but something went wrong with their hyperspace drive, and they didn’t arrive until two million years after they’d set off.

They dug for the geode, hit something metal, and that’s when the quakes started. The Quintessons left, thinking the planet was unstable.

At this point, Magnus is begging Xenon to just get on with it.

The Quintessons headed back to Quintyxia, to find that their lush, green world had been turned into one made of metal. Cybertron. Quintyxia is Cybertron. New Quintyxia is Quintyxia. It’s like that time Prince named himself the Artist Formerly Known As Prince.

Of course that leaves the question of why the nanobots didn’t just destroy the planet instead of… doing whatever they did to make Cybertron Cybertron.

So, Cybertron is a planet-sized computer, tasked with the sole purpose of decoding the meaning of life.

You know, I remember reading somewhere- and don’t quote me on this, because I can’t for the life of me remember where exactly- that Roberts has never read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Now, either he’s lying- which I don’t know why he would, the guy loves references- or this is just a weird thing the collective brain of the English population does, where they all jump to the same ideas in absurdist sci-fi.

When the Quintessons showed up on Cybertron, they were met with the results of the cracked Lifecode- the first Transformers (but they couldn’t transform, that was a thing that developed alongside the war.) They couldn’t do much of anything, really.

Well, now we know where the protoform babies in IDW come from.

The Quintessons, not ones to squander an opportunity, decide to use these fragile, helpless proto-beings as slaves.

Yeah, the Quintessons have kind of been the worst since day one.

They build brain modules, stick them in the ground- Seedlings, Xenon calls them- and watch as the planet wrapped living metal around them and built bodies.  

The Quintessons get pretty good at making the Auto-Bots, and get to a point where they’re drafting up blueprints for each solitary one. Blueprints that Xenon apparently kept, since he’s got all these copies in the pods right now.

If you couldn’t tell already, we’re going with the “the Quintessons made the Transformers” creation myth.

Of course, you make a big enough species, they’re going to need some corralling- that is, if you want to be an awful, controlling, overbearing parent. And the Quintessons definitely wanted that. So, what’s one to do?

…Look, it’s not that I necessarily disagree on a base level, but-

Xenon, you fucking neckbeard.

Because the Quintessons forgot that religion is not a one-set-outcome game, they were surprised to find that it had given their creations hope and will, things you really don’t want your enslaved masses to have.

The Covenant drove off the Quintessons, then fucked off into deep space to spread the message of Primus, with Maximo at the head of things. Maximo was the leader of the Cybertronian Empire and Megatron’s progenitor in the Marvel UK comics. They did leave someone behind to keep the masses within the faith- Primon. He’s important in the comics, just trust me on that.

Oh man, we’re finally getting some answers.

Xenon admits that the Quintessons didn’t come up with everything; there were parts that they just straight-up ripped out of the geode’s owner’s manual.

Oh. Well. That’s… underwhelming. Xenon’s really just dumping the entirety of the Cybertronian religion into the trash at this point, isn’t he? This info-dump has been going on for five pages, and we still aren’t done.

Turns out that kill switch code was pulled from the geode too- 4/11.002983712 is its serial number. That’s like if you called your dad by his first name and then immediately died afterwords.

But whatever happened to that second geode the Quintessons buried on the other planet?

Yeah, that turned into Unicron.

Turns out the virus that wipes the Lifecode from the geode messed up, and made the geode want to kill literally everything in the universe just for being alive.  

Well, isn’t that all just fine and dandy~!

Because the Quintessons didn’t realize what Unicron’s whole deal was at first- the vore-planet had learned how to lie at some point before they met up- they worked together for a time.

At this point the Quintessons had gone from being quasi-organic to something more cybernetically-dependent, so that might have also made things a little difficult in the baby-making department. Or not. I don’t fucking know, things are just happening at this point.

MOTHERFUCKER DO YOU KNOW WHAT BOOK YOU’RE IN

THERE WILL BE NO HAPPY ANYTHING

Storytime’s over, back to the present day. Xenon’s going to take these podded robots and populate New Quintyxia with them. They won’t fight, they’ll be actual, normal people who don’t wage war.

Xenon must have gotten some new glasses, because that’s one hell of a rose-tinted worldview he’s got there.

Ultra Magnus at this point just asks for the Matrix back so they can go home. Xenon says “nah, but check this out tho” and powers on the pod-bots.

Xenon, that’s gross. Don’t make Galvatron and Magnus watch you be weird with the power of granting life, man.

All the robots wake up, stand, and stare up at Xenon, who’s floated up to the ceiling on his power trip. They… aren’t supposed to do that.

Turns out the Matrix is a friggin’ liar, and only promised power because it’s actually Unicron in there. Well, damn.

Galvatron shoots Xenon. Good.

Shoulda sprung for the waterproofing on your Uggs, Mags.

Galvatron’s on a roll, now. He aims at one of the zombies and fires, and they all go down, thanks to their interlinked minds. Crisis averted, I guess.

Magnus, though not happy with Galvatron’s wanton destruction of innocents, has bigger fish to fry at present; he’s convinced that the Matrix is still inside God. Boy oh boy, is he wrong, but the narrative demands he at least tries. He sticks his hand into the computer, up to the shoulder. That’s not good heavy-duty machinery safety.

Well, shit. He’s been possessed by a higher power.

You know, now that I think about it, there’s a good chance that Xenon putting the Matrix into God messed up the killswitch code, and that’s why Prowl had to use a wasting disease to try and end it all. Not really relevant at this exact moment in the story, just a thought I had.

Galvatron, having had enough mystical bullshit for one day, shoots his arm clean off, severing the connection. Magnus drops like a stone, and Galvatron bolts as everything starts coming down around them.

Oh no, Magnus is gonna be our first victim, isn’t he?

Magnus follows after Galvatron, leaving his arm. Hope he doesn’t run into any aqua fortis on the way back to the Trident, because his Pretender shell is beat all to hell.

Then Xenon pulls himself together and stops being dead.

Sigh.
