drv3 spoilers!!!!
personally i think having a religious character like angie in danganronpa was SUCH a wasted opportunity. because especially with v3's themes of truth and lies, how hope itself can sometimes be a lie. many of the characters' throughout the series have this belief in hope that draws a parallel to religions (i'm mostly using christianity for reference so if this isn't how other faiths operate, excuse me). this belief almost seems desperate or near delusional in many tough times but the moment something good finally turns their way, they say "this is hope, this is why i believe in it, even when it puts me through trials and tribulations, in the end, things will always turn out if i have faith."
angie, in my opinion, could've been a brilliant antagonist, similar to byukuya in the way that the killing game could've shaken her steadfast beliefs. the beliefs similar to the characters that the entire franchise had put on a pedestal. the beliefs that v3 acknowledged as overshadowed by the ultimate truth.
and i have nothing against kokichi or himiko as characters! but i think their roles in the story were.... overemphasized, really. yes kokichi's character and values can be important to the overall message but really, the same can be said about angie. they both embody beautiful lies, pretty things people tell themselves to avoid reality. but angie also carries on a message that the past games have revered, on top of the fact she also has clear emotional stakes in her faith towards her god and anyone who believes in him, unlike kokichi where his favor is hidden behind fortified walls.
what if we watched angie struggle with her faith. struggle having hope that everything will get better, that there is truly a rhyme and reason for all this senseless violence. what if we watched her get angry, actually visually angry that her friends kept killing each other when all they had to do was have hope that it all would be okay? even when it becomes undeniable that nothing ever will be after all the things they had to go through? she creates even more destruction to make sure there's no hope of escape, everything in her power to control everyone and keep them from killing again, going crazy herself and questioning her own faith at times, but she keeps going. why? because she has to have faith. have hope.
if angie ended up being a survivor instead of himiko, in the final trial, the twist that kiibo's inner voice isn't god/atua but instead the very audience spurring on this violence would be devastating. especially since she encouraged kiibo to listen to this voice, thinking kiibo to be almost a prophet of sorts, when really he was being fed the opinions of those who created the entire game. she could realize that she herself, her entire personality and character and unwavering faith, was made to abed a killing game. her god was made up to make her encourage kiibo's inner voice, her god was nothing more than a story created by people in a boardroom, just like she was. the god that kept her going. the god that made her do each and every one of those horrible things. just because she believed. because she wanted everything to be alright.
shuichi, when convincing everyone not to give up, helps angie discover something. she never needed her faith or a god to believe in. because she and everyone around her now were alive, living proof that there's something real to believe in and that is each other. that she didn't need a god to justify what happened, she can acknowledge everything that the survivors went through was just a tragedy, not a trial of her faith or to become stronger. what happened was horrible but we can't change what's been done. all we can do is have each other now and live the truth the best we can.
tldr; angie was done so dirty, she could've been an incredible asset to the story but danganronpa hates women :/

Indulge me in angiekork, tell me how it be cause I'm interested now
I sat on this ask out of embarrassment for like three weeks I am so sorry AS MUCH AS I LOVE TALKING ABOUT THEM I GET SO SHAMEFUL ABOUT IT AAAH THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO ME. I’m so glad you’re interested 😭 I think their potential dynamic is SUCH a tragic missed opportunity they could’ve had in the games HOLLA!!!!!
Here’s a comprehensive list that I love revising every time I send someone it, enjoy my brain worms!!! This time with doodles attached :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s a literal anthropologist and obsessed with other cultures, and Angie is the only foreigner in the entire class, with some absolutely BATSHIT culture; it only makes sense that Korekiyo would (or should’ve) take an immediate interest in her, with a notepad in hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kiyo has his sister’s voice in his head. Angie has Atua’s voice in her head. (whether they’re both alters or tulpas or just delusions--they’re very similar) They both grew up lonely (Angie stated she was in her freetime events, and Kiyo ONLY had his sister...and we know what happened to her) and had to cope in EERILY similar / same ways; being that both of these “voices” were formed as a way to deal with said loneliness. They would ABSOLUTELY understand each other in this regard if they were to properly get to know each other. (Kodaka knew they’d be too powerful if they interacted and that’s just the cold-hard truth)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Either way I really don’t think Kiyo would dismiss Angie’s Atua ramblings as a crazed religious nutjob, like the rest of the class does, but as a curious case of what the mind does to cope, AND as someone he can relate to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dynamic of two generally creepy characters who are both painfully NOT self-aware AT ALL. Absolute outcasts in their class and likely able to be the only ones to truly “understand” each other as stated previously. Both absolute wildcards; unpredictable in their own ways. Angie wants to steal everyone’s blood, Korekiyo wants to steal everyone’s nerves, it all works out!! Also dynamic of Tall And Stoic And Kinda Mean™️ and Short And Bubbly And Optimistic™️. AS WELL as the dynamic of Fucked Up™ and Cinnamon Roll™. They are simultaneously opposite’s attract AND very similar in that they are both self-unaware ritual/seance creeps that no one else wants to hang out with due to being terrified of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Going off the stories in his freetime events and how much insane things he’s done and experienced just for the hell of it, as well as his (technically non-canon) actions in the manga where he just goes along with whatever people say to do just for the experience alone;; (AS WELL AS HIS LOVE HOTEL EVENT LITERALLY JUST BEING OUT OF CURIOSITY”) -- he would absolutely delve facefirst into Angie’s eccentric culture; going along with any of its rituals and practices, initially just to study it but with his picture perfect memory of a specific seance circle…he’d surely stick around. Shoutout to blood cults!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kiyo sees the beauty in all people, despite how “ugly” their actions and existences as a whole may be – Angie, through God, says everyone deserves forgiveness and grants that forgiveness immediately. Kind of a matching theme of looking past people’s flaws not in a “I’m choosing to ignore it” way but in a “that makes you the beautiful person you are” way I suppose!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Going with the commonly accepted idea that Kiyo was abused by his sister, and Angie just wants to make everyone happy and has a certain natural charisma to her, able to comfort basically anyone as we saw in the game;; – she would absolutely try her damndest to help him through his trauma. She has very unconventional ways of getting him to cheer up, yet with how inquisitive he is of all human behaviors, nothing she does would ever fail because she’s just so damn weird and interesting; really gets the anthropology gears turning in his head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I KNOW I JUST POSTED ABOUT IT HAHA AND IT’S WHAT MY ANIMATIC IS ABOUT BUT In a postgame VR AU where they’re all alive, Korekiyo would eventually try to recover from said trauma, leading to him apologizing to Angie for killing her; which she’d genuinely forgive immediately because of her religion and ideals, + she’d understand everything he went through as well and why he did it due to her extremely nurturing personality. Fun angst and comfort to be had there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The idea alone of Angie being the only one not scared of Kiyo in the class and he’s kinda like “how do I deal with this” because none of his threats of nerve-tearing affect her, and he ends up being scared of her in return. Powerful. Effervescent. The other day my buddy said Kiyo is scared of Angie in the same way an elephant is scared of a mouse and I haven’t stopped thinking about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ON THAT SAME THOUGHT he would end up giving up any threats to scare her off and just kinda lets her do whatever, he will threaten to murder someone if they look at him funny, meanwhile Angie’s just crawling all over him like a monkey trying to do a TikTok trend and he’s like “this is fine actually I’m used to it.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This fanfic that lives in my head rent-free where Kiyo casually gives blood sacrifices to hear about Angie’s culture.

Prompt: GN!Reader in a poly relationship with Subjects
Subjects: Angie & Kokichi
@sagecupid !! I hope you enjoy! :)
(I was a bit conflicted on where to start so I’m sorry if the blanks I filled myself are not to your liking. If you would like me to change some things, I’ll gladly do it!)
Tumblr media
ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡••ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡••̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ
♡ \ʕ ˵– ᴥ – ˵ \ʔ
Tumblr media
(Credit! : @akiyamabc on Twitter!~)
( 1056 words)
ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡••ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ
How you three got together!
To be honest, you were conflicted.
On one hand, you have a very adorable and devoted girl who you have known for Atua knows how long. She’s always been by your side. No matter how wrapped up she is in her passion for art or the worshiping of her beloved god, she always, always makes time for you! She would either stop sculpting or praying early or do all of that stuff with you!
In truth, she kind of enjoys her hobbies a lot more when you are there with her!
Everything about her is so fun, so of course you fell for her!
But on the other hand, you have a very adorable and fun (again) guy, with a sprinkle (more like cup) of trickery. No matter if you were around him for a few minutes or an hour, you always had a good time! He may tease you sometimes, poke fun at you, or even play small pranks on you, but he never went too far. (He made sure not to because on the inside he does deeply care about you, even if he shows it like a middle schooler).
So as stated before, you were conflicted. You really liked both of them, but you didn’t really know how to tell them.
After a while, you finally gave in and decided to just put on a brave face and tell them.
And after you did, you were surprised at the response.
You prepared for the worst, like them thinking you were weird or not feeling the same way.
And you even hoped for the best, maybe they would agree after you talked about it a little more.
But….
They both looked at each other and said “Yes!” In unison.
To say the least, you were very surprised.
After asking them why they agreed so fast, they admitted they had previously talked to each other about asking you to be with them both. What a coincidence!
While you are together!
In your day to day lives, it’s mandatory that you all spend as much time as you can together!
This would normally consist of watching movies together, play games, doing art, or doing small (semi-harmless) pranks or others (or eachother!)
When you all would watch movies, Kokichi would always beg to pick the movie!
But to make it fair, Angie came up with an idea.(or at least tried to) she said she would ask Atua to pick who gets to pick the movie.
After a bit of arguing, you settled on her idea.
But in truth, it didn’t really matter to you who picked the movie, it was just nice to spend time together!
While watching the movie, Kokichi would usually lay down on top of the both of you. ( He’s always wanting to be touching you both, no matter where you were or what you guys were doing. {In a wholesome way})
Whenever you guys were playing games together and Kokichi tried to cheat, Angie always made sure to tell him how Atua would not be very happy with him for doing that.
Although he doesn’t really care about Atua or religion in general, he cares about Angie, so he will stop.
Whenever you guess would do art with Angie, she would always be overjoyed, showing you all her art supplies and helping you work on your pieces if you needed it.
She loves sharing her passion for art with you both just as much as she loves spreading the message of Atua to others.
When you all finished and showed each other your creations, she would always always always shower you both in compliments and praise!
Even when you think your art isn't good, she would suddenly bring you into a hug and tell you that she (and Atua) think your art is always amazing, just like you!
The sudden sweet words always put a smile on you face and a blush on your cheeks.
And in the background, a semi jealous Kokichi would start pouting.
Just as sudden as the hug, he would jump on you both saying “Don’t leave me out, you guysssss!! You’re going to make me cry from loneliness!!!”
If you decide to put on some pranks on others, Kokichi would go into full on chaotic mode, evil laughter, scary expressions, and all that. It would take a bit of Angie’s scolding to get him to calm down.
Even thought Angie was very reluctant to participate because Atua does not like this kind of behavior, she gave in and swore to Atua she would make up for it later. She just loves you and Kokichi a lot, so of course she will make some sacrifices. (This time, no blood!)
When you successfully pulled a prank and watched as the person you pranked looked around in surprise and annoyance, Kokichi would be so proud of you all.
Once you ran to someplace safe, he would pull you both into a big, tight hug and spew out a flurry of happy exclamations and praise!
“I’m so proud of you both!!! Nishishi!~ My lovely next-in-commands are learning so fast!”
At the end of the day, once you guys are all tired and in need of some physical comfort, nighttime is the perfect time for cuddles!
Cuddling would normally consist of Kokichi being in the middle of both of you. (He really, really does love being the center of both of your attentions!)
But, if you or Angie (or both!) were having a bad day, he would let one of you take the responsibility of being in the middle. (As he likes to put it) And if both of you were having a bad day, he would put it upon himself to make you feel better with lots of cuddles and kisses! (If you are in the mood for them)
Buuut, if you and Kokichi are feeling bad, Angie would lay both of you on each side of her and hold you close, telling you constantly about how much she loves you, how much you matter to her, and of course, how much Atua cares for both of you!
Overall, these two would make life 10000% more interesting! You can’t even remember the last time you were bored while you were dating Angie and Kokichi. Though, they both can be a little chaotic at times!~

I enjoyed sally's mask ask with sdr2 cast can i have same but with ndrv3 cast?
Tumblr media
Here you go, anon! I hope you enjoy this — you also requested this with THH cast so I’ll be writing that today, too! :D -Mod Kaede
Shuichi Saihara
He is aware of your boundaries so he won’t pressure you about it but he is really curious of your face!
The first time he met you he thought you were wearing it because you lacked confidence but when he found out the real reason he felt sorry for you
If you were to take your mask off in front of him, he wouldn’t look away though he’d be shocked but also happy that you trust him enough—he gets really emotional🥺and sweet🥺
He doesn’t really mind your appearance. He fell in love with you because of your personality and he still thinks you’re the (most beautiful/handsome) prettiest person in the world!!
Kaito Momota
He’s so noisy about it LMAO
Constantly begs you to take it off and he acts like literally a child—i ain’t joking😌😌
Though he knows his limits and will stop insisting once he senses it annoys you-
If you trust him enough to take your mask off in front of him, he’ll be more than excited
Once you take it off he’ll give you A HUG because he wants you to know he APPRECIATES it
If anyone dares to hurt you or judge you he’ll back 🤺 them 🤺 off 🤺 grrr
Not on his watch😌
Ryoma Hoshi
He’s a member of “Appearance? More like Personality ✨✨” Squad
Seriously though, he isn’t even gonna ask you to take it off. If you felt confident enough about it, you would and he knows that
Doesn’t pressure you not even a bit🥺
If you were to say something like “You won’t probably like it,” he’ll disagree as soon as you say that. He’s like: Not in my house.
He wouldn’t be against the idea of you taking off your mask when you two are spending time alone.
If you took your mask off in front of him, he wouldn’t think pity, he’d just feel sorry that you’ve had gone through something so harsh.
Gonta Gokuhara
Gonta, being the gentleman he is, won’t let anyone or anything hurt you🥺
He’s probably the most understanding one bahahah
He’s the type that will caress your wounds and will tell you how amazing you are if you’re having struggles or looking down on yourself
Just stoooooop. Gonta thinks you’re amazing and you don’t deserve this!
Gonta won’t judge you if you were to take your mask off in front of him—he wouldn’t mind your appearance—he’s the type that will compliment about it!!
But he means it. You’re pretty/beautiful/handsome just the way you are!
Kokichi Ouma
Aaww, he’ll do anything to see what’s behind that mask of yours!
He’s asking you many questions and messing with you—simply does anything for you to take off your mask (didn’t pass the vibe check)
But I feel like he’d stop if you told him to- THANK GOD
He’d be reaaaally impressed by your appearance and if you were to look down on yourself—well, let’s say you’ll be receiving LOTS OF KISSES AND LOVE
“You look stunning and that’s no lie, S/O!”
He thinks you’re so charming, literally flawless. Tell them, Kokichi 😌
Still a perfect match, hehe
Korekiyo Shinguji
Same people different fonts
He’s already blinded by u!! If you were to take off your mask you’d just make him love you more bahahah 💀
Nothing really changes, he just admires you
He doesn’t mind if you decide to wear your mask, he’ll let you know he’s gonna accept you anyways,
He’s ready to tell you nice words and show his affection if you’re feeling insecure
“S/o, I can’t believe you were hiding this from me. You’re still breathtaking.” ajjejtjrkgfgk he’s cheesy like that<3 kthkyhhjj he’s just being sweet
Your appearance don’t really matter to him since he fell in love because of your personality and your beautiful nature🥺🥺
Rantaro Amami
He’s a chill guy but when it comes to you I can say he’s the sweetest one around <3
He’s so easygoing and will not hesitate to tell you how beautiful you are needed or not aejtkktg
He’s like your biggest supporter!!!
You taking off your mask around him means so much to him because it basically means you trust him enough to do that and he holds back his tears all the time:(
Fuck it. Not only that, you trusting him itself means the world to him😩💞💞
Rantaro, you guys have been together for a long time now lmao why’re you so surprised-
Let him have his happiness
K1-B0 (Kiibo)
He. 🥺
He kiNd oF wants you to know that you’re the prettiest human he has ever seen
And if you’re having a hard time accepting this absolute TRUTH, he’ll take that as an insult
He’s reaaally curious of your face but he doesn’t know how to bring it up and always stutters and embarasses himself so do a favor for him and tell him it’s okay
When you first took off your mask he,, screamed because he thought you dropped your mask and didn’t do that intentionally😤
He stared for a sec,, then looked away because he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable, pff:(
But if you assure him it wasn’t a mistake, he’ll tell you the sweetest words you’ll ever hear🥺
Kaede Akamatsu
I kin her sm omg
She thinks you’re a literal sunshine and you didn’t deserve this
Neverthless she LOVES you and will let you know that anytime or anywhere!
She’ll support you and will tell you nice things about you if you’re seeking support 🤧
Respects your boundaries but can’t help but wonder about your face, too
So when you took it off for the first time she was so hyped about it!!
She thinks you have an angel’s face, it’s such a shame you had to go through that
Insists on keeping your mask off when you two are alone, if you say yes she’ll gonna be so happy about it aah
Tenko Chabashira
She couldn’t help but imagine how you looked like behind that mask of yours
You had to scold her multiple times for daydreaming too much, ugh
She thinks you still look stunning! You’re her S/o, there’s no way you’d look otherwise!
And she means that.
The first time she saw you she stared you for way TOO MUCH and you had to ask if anything’s wrong ajtkgrerkhhk
And she just says it’s because you look so pretty without your mask rkykyyjhjj 💍🧎‍♀️
She’ll ask for you to take off your mask more often
So you keep it off just to see her reactions and she boosts your ego with her kind words
Just kiss already smh 🙄
Tsumugi Shirogane
Okay but she was fangirling over you?? Before even you took off your mask??
Yes, your personality was what mattered to her the most. She loved how sweet, how nice you are to her🥰
If you were to call yourself mean things, she’d immediately disagree! “But how could you, S/o?... I think you’re really pretty...! With or without mask.”
If you’re having insecurities she’ll be there for you—her easygoing nature and kind words really helps you!
The first time you took off your mask...? *Fangirl Tsumugi noises* She had a nosebleed lmao
“You’re so beautiful/handsome, S/O!!!”
Maki Harukawa
She won’t ask you to show your face unless you mention it
She acts cool
But inside, she’s begging you to take your mask off so she can see your blessing face😤
Won’t admit but she already knew you looked cute under it, pff
“S/o, why you still bother to wear it? You know, you don’t have to when it’s just me and you,”
Bahahahah she’s finding excuses just to see your face-
If looks could kill, she’d die from your beauty but will she ever tell you that? Nope.
Also will kill anyone that dares to attempt hurting your feelings, I mean how could they?
She feels sorry for you and understands you. As her S/o, you’re someone she can open up to and is actually grateful you can open up to her as well🥺
Angie Yonaga
You didn’t even have to take off your mask in the first place because she was already ready to accept you!!!
She thinks you’re already perfect
If you were to take off your mask she’d have a big smile on her face and would give you cute compliments about it just to express her happiness
“S/o, even Atua thinks you’re breathtaking!” Yeah, and by compliments I mean she conveys compliments told by Atua.
They’re her true thoughts
She thinks you’re so precious you even inspire her to do more art ✨✨ Whenever you are around she feels herself filled with passion
Since you make her feel at her best, she’ll do the same for you. Her favorite thing to do is planting kisses on your face.
Himiko Yumeno
At first she might look as if she isn’t really interested about your appearance
But that’s just her nature. She’s actually curious in her own unique way but doesn’t know how to bring that up
Even though compliments from her are rare, they always make you feel better about yourself because they’re coming from HER
But how she wants to see your face? She’ll probably say stuff like her magic can cure your face or something like that lmao
But when you actually take it off, she just forgot her words
“Your face doesn’t need my magic, S/o. It’s already perfect.”
You’re like: 💆‍♀️
But at the same time: 🥺
Kirumi Tojo
As the amazing person you are, your mood being as amazing as you are is one of her priorities
So if you’re feeling down, she’ll be there for you until you’re feeling better
Holding you, cuddling, telling you nice words etc.
You’re someone she can be relaxed around, so she wants you to feel the same
So she’ll politely ask you to take off your mask when she’s around you, which you’ll agree after thinking a little about it
She doesn’t judge you and she’s down to do anything to tell you she appreciates your existence
Which makes you feel a lot better about yourself
“S/O, please know that I’m here for you anytime. And know that you’re pretty.”
Miu Iruma
Hahahah this girl
This girl wanted to see you so much that she literally kneeled down and cried to you
Seeing her like this, you played along a bit more, it was fun seeing her cry like that
“Okay, okay, stop. But don’t freak out, okay...?”
She didn’t get what you exactly mean. Did you look bad??
When you took off your mask she was even more confused. Because there stood you that looked as much as pretty as her???
No! She can’t drool over you now!
“What?! You’ve been hiding this from me? What’s wrong with you, S/O? You’re so hot!”
And she boosts your ego like that even when you don’t need it
If nobody got you, Miu got you, amen
Aahhh this took so long aıekfgkrkfgkkhj REQUESTS ARE OPEN!!! And you can always dm me if you want!! :) -Mod Kaede

V3 VR au - Post game headcanons
Rantaro
Rantaro wakes up early and easily. He already went through the killing game once, so his body learned the difference between the simulation and real life, so the shock from the shot put ball didn’t affect him as much.
When Kade wakes up and recovers, the first thing she does is apologizing to Rantaro. And then she learns that It was Tsumugi who actually killed him.
It was a riddiculously tragic moment
Kaede
Even though she learns that she didn’t kill Rantaro, she still feels really guilty.
To say that she feels spite towards Tsumugi is an understatement
She also is very emotional and cries after almost every death
She just can’t stand watching everyone suffer, but she keeps watching to cheer on Shuichi
She develops fear of wearing enything around her neck: Necklaces, scarfs, collars.
Even though she still has her talent, her execution (which forced her to play a song for begginers really poorly) made her lose confidence in her piano skills.
She knows that It’s riddiculous, but still.
Ryoma + Kirumi
After Ryoma wakes up, Kade takes the best care of him - She wants to give him something to live for
Despite Ryoma saying that he forgives her, and that he was ready to die, Kirumi takes a long while to start socializing again
Later it is discovered that the best way to get closer to her is to ask her for small services - It’s a small psychological trick, it makes Kirumi think that people trust her
Angie
When Angie first wakes up and learns the truth, she tries to convince herself that applying to participate in Danganronpa must’ve been her god’s order
But why would he want her to suffer so much?
When she finds out that he isn’t real, she’s devastated (I'm sticking to the japanese version where her god's name isn't specified, as I doubt that Angie's Atua is the same as real polnnesian Atua)
She’s stuck in the endless cycle of discovering new religions and abandoning them when she feels distressed and no divine intervention is here to help her.
She also gets a huge artblock and even her implemented talent doesn’t help.
Despite dying while being unconcious and not suffering so much, she’s still one of the most traumatized people.
Tenko
Tenko recovered pretty quickly. However, she developed a fear of the dark
Watching the rest of the game play out - Shuichi encoruaging Himiko, Kaito’s and Kiibo’s sacrifices, and Tsumugi’s betreyal helped with changing her opinion on males
However she still despises Kokichi and Kiyo. Esecially Kiyo.
She gets that Kokichi had good intentions, but her sense of justice doesn’t allow her to forgive him for indirectly killing two people.
Korekiyo
Kiyo learns that he has no sister and when ot comes to this fact alone, he takes it suprisingly easily.
Although his personality is the same, he has none to kill for anymore so he just... Stops.
Everyone is still creeped out of him tho. None ever trusts him again.
It wouldn’t bother Kiyo back in the simulation, because he thought he had sister on his side, but...
He gets extremely lonely and depressed
Miu
Miu waking up from the simulation was pretty funny
She was terrified at first, desperately gasping for air. When she realized that everything’s fine, her fear was replaced with mindfuck
“OH, COME ON, REALLY!? THAT LITTLE RAT... WHAT THE FUCK DID HE DO!?”
While she watched the 5th trial play out, she figured out Kokichi’s plan pretty easily.
She was actually proud and secretly hoping that It would work.
But after Kaito showed up, she claimed that she knew that it wouln’t.
Just as Kaede, she devbeloped fear of any things you can wrap around your neck. And toilet paper. On her worse days she finds it hard to get closed to jumpropes or cables
Gonta
When Gonta woke up, crushing Miu in a hug and apologizing was the first thing he did.
He also cried a lot
Miu thought that she’s about to get suffocated again
She calls Gonta a dumbass a lot, but she forgave him for what he’s done.
He forgave Kokichi, but got actually angry when he “confessed” to be the mastermind
Only to be get confused when his real plan was revealed. It took a lot of explaining for him to understand.
Actually he’s confused about everything.
Kokichi
Took the longest to recover.
Not only his whole body experienced trauma, but he also suffered psychologically like nobody else in the whole game.
Miu was the first one to visit him (or more like break in) into his room.
She claimed she wanted to kick his ass, but seeing him in such a pathetic state and knowing what he was going through the whole time, she felt bad and guilty for trying to attack him.
She took time to work on the equipment in the hospital and improve it. Why did she start from Kokichi’s room? It’s because it was the closest to the dining room, duh.
They never really had a talk about what happened.
But once Kokichi recovered enough to throw any kind of insults at her, they started bickering again.
But... Kokichi lost confidence to keep it going for too long.
They both hate that fact.
Kokichi cried when he first saw Gonta alive.
Only him and the nurses know about it tho.
Kokichi REALLY didn’t want to socialize, he was afraid of it, but Gonta’s forgiveness and kindness helped him. Their relationship gets healthier.
Kokichi will never be the same, but his friendship with Gonta and Miu is actually really wholesome and healthier than back in the simulation.
Kaito
He feels guilty as fuck
He wants to apologize to Kokichi for killing him and not handling his plan, and basically wants to get to know him better.
But at first Kokichi doesn’t accept visitors, and later he spends time with Gonta and Miu.
So he spends time interacting with others instead.
Despite being regretfull himself, he commits himself to encoruaging others and helping them to recover.
Sneaks out on the hospital’s roof every night.
He LOVES the fresh air and finally getting to breathe without worrying about his sickness

Before Angie had been about to respond to Shuichi,
The girl began to laugh cheering, climbing down from the table with surprising grace and strolling up to the tall astronaut. Her eerie smile still on here face.
"Dear Momota.. The Atua can tell when one is in love you know, like a mother knowing a child's darkest secrets." as if it hadn't been possible, her smile would widen once more and boop his nose, walking back to the table to rest on it, looking up at the ceiling.
"If you were to watch over Anya, and she happened to be the chef of the crab pot, you'd listen to whatever she had to say like a lost little puppy. The love you store for her over balances your morals.. So!" Angie sat up, another giggle escaping her before pointing to Kokichi and Rantaro.
"The Atua has decided that you watch over Kokichi and Rantaro, meanwhile, Himiko and Shuichi will watch Kibo!.."
"Hey ya crazy slut! Quit degrading Kaito and list your fucking reasons already damn it! I wanna fucking sleep!" The girl genius announced, an obvious annoyed face gracing her features. If Angie had been more expressive, it probably would show annoyance. Though the only thing that was an indicator of that was her rapid blinking at the girl.
"..The Atua actually informed me... That Miu shall monitor Rantaro."
"WHAT?! I DON'T WANNA WATCH THAT AVOCADO FUCKBOY-"
"Yoohoo! For reason of my candidates.. Kibo is a robot? For what we are aware, he could be serving as the masterminds camera or contact without our knowledge. Kibo's 'Inner voice ' could be the mastermind jumping in to sabotage or steer us in the wrong direction you know?, Nyahaha! "
Kaede would frown, the fact that age couldn't argue with that logic was frustrating. Angie's plan was a good one but.. It came at an expensive cost,
Trust.
She didn't want to start suspecting people.
Ryoma would simply watch.
"She.. She does make a good point.. Sorry Keebs."Kaede would mumble, The Artist smiling in delight.
"Kokichi Ouma! Due to us still not knowing Anya's attempted killer, and his recent threats, he's not only a suspect.. But!-"The white haired girl once again began walking, pinching Kokichi's cheek before he'd gaze into his eyes with her piercing blue ones.
"You were listening in on our talk were you Kokichi, yes? And you enjoy the killing game? Kokichi could be.. The traitor!" Backing away from him, she'd happily cheer, Korekiyo rolling his eyes I'm humour. It was rather adorable in a way to see Angie practically scare the others a bit with her sudden.. Seriousness?
Was she serious?.. Yeah she was.
"And finally.. The siblings. Rantaro and Anya's involvement with the hidden door is.. Quite concerning. Anya surviving could be a form of immunity.. And Amami is her right hand man.. Or the roles are reversed. Unless there's something that can eliminate Anya isn't scheming, as the holy vessel of the divines, I, Angie Yonaga, declare this time be ruled!"
'Are we in a court now..? '
"Korekiyo and I will be dealing with Anya's maintenance--"
"I did it!"
Kaede would stand in front of her classmates, already bowing as if she'd been confessing, her body shivering. This act raised a questioning brow from the artist.
"Oh?"
"You did what, titless?! A porno? A glory hole experience? Ooh, the good ole-"
"Miu I say this with whatever patience I have in this shortened body of mine... Stop. Talking."Miu would mumble angrily to herself before watching the scene.
"I mean.. I'm the reason why.. Why..
Why Anya almost died."
---
okay I love rping as Angie now because AA-
Rantaro could feel his patience thinning as Miu ran her mouth, pursing his lips as he tried not to think about the fact Miu would have to monitor him.
As Kaede further explained the cryptic meaning of her words, Rantaro felt as if his heart nearly threw up. "I beg your pardon?" Rantaro faced Kaede, an unreadable emotion hidden behind his very small, 'patient' smile.
Shuichi whipped his head towards Kaede, shock and disbelief dawned over his features. "K- Kaede?"
With his voice cracking from the strong sense of betrayal he had felt, Shuichi's eyes remained wide in shock, glued onto the pianist. He gulped, certainly, she wouldn't have done that out of bad intention, right? She wasn't the mastermind, that wasn't possible — but did that mean she just wanted to kill? No, that can't be right- He trusted her, that wasn't a mistake, right? The talk with trust and friendship, and escaping; was that all a lie?
Shuichi's voice had lowered in pitch and tone, questioning too many things at once. "But- ... Why would...?" For the love of everything that is holy, Shuichi couldn't think of a reason why she would try and kill Anya; his heart had been palpitating, affecting his thought process greatly.
Kokichi rubbed the sore spot on his cheek, face seemingly unfazed as if he already knew. Though his blank expression soon shifted into one of anger as he suddenly threw his finger at her, "Well hey! That's not fair! Why should we be punished for her actions!? It was all Kaede's fault then!" Kokichi spewed; as if not considering the fact that, even without the near-death Anya experienced, he wouldn't have gotten accused.
Kokichi's face contorted into too many expressions to count, lips flapping as he spoke in an overly dramatic manner. "I knew it from the moment she forced us all to the tunnel thing! No doubt about it, she's trying to sabotage us-!"
Despite Rantaro's silent rage, even he sighed from the irritancy and absurdity of Kokichi's words.
"Hold on! Kaede, it's fine! There's no reason to lie! It was the mastermind's doing; blame the mastermind!" Kaito defended, ignoring the feeling of his own heart, ache from betrayal and betrayal; he still decided to believe in her. Because... There's simply no way she could've done that, because- because it didn't happen. It didn't hurt to believe that, right? Anya ended up surviving anyway.
Kokichi grimaced, seriously contemplating how much Angie despised Kokichi to try and make the moron, Kaito, monitor him. "God, you're literally the dumbest person alive." Kokichi's 'rage' somehow dissipated into thin air, as if he hadn't been screaming at the top of his lungs not one minute ago — it was like Kaito's stupidity had somehow doused the fire of his words.
With the detective's voice as fragile as a glass doll, he approached her, hesitance laced within each step. "Kaede... Is that the truth? Are you..? Are you lying?" A small part of him already knew that she hadn't been lying; if Kokichi of all people, deemed it the truth, then...-
But even so, Shuichi refused to believe it. The truth- who cared? It didn't matter. His eyes had practically been begging for Kaede to say it was just a lie, a harmless lie she told, so they could all get along.

Can I get the mistaken for cheating scenario but with the v3 girls?
Cheating? Part 2
Tumblr media
I only did Kaede, Maki and Angie this time. I hope it's okay.
Mod Dia
Maki Harukawa
“S/o, look at me.”
“...”
“S/o!”
She snatched the phone out of your hands.
You let out an angry mumble and Maki sighed, putting your phone in her pocket.
“I haven’t seen you in months can you please talk to me?”
“Sure but give me my phone back.”
“I will when you start looking at me when I’m talking to you.”
“Fine.” You looked at her with an annoyed expression.
“Thank you.” She rolled her eyes. “Anyway, where do you want to go tonight?”
“I don’t know, McDonald’s or something? Can I have my phone back now?”
“You know what? I don’t care anymore.” She placed the phone in your hands and turned her back to you, starting to walk away.
“Where are you going?”
“My room. Don’t follow me.”
You caught the glimpse of a tear forming on the corner of her eye, which she promptly wiped off with the back of her hand, before she angrily stumped away.
(...)
“Hey, baby...”
“Go away.” She turned away from you, rolling to the other side of the bed.
“I want to talk to you. I’m coming in, okay?”
She didn’t answer so you let yourself in, closing the door behind you.
You sat down next to her in the bed and ran a hand through her hair.
“I said “go away”. What part of that did you not understand?” She brushed your hand away.
“I’m sorry for the way I talked to you earlier.”
“No, you’re not.”
“Come on, don’t say that...”
“I don’t like being lied to.”
“I’m not lying.”
“It’s not about that.” She sunk her head deeper into the pillow. “I know what you’re doing behind my back.”
“What I’m doing.?”
“Don’t play stupid, I know you’re going out with other girls.” She sat up and threw the pillow at your face.
“Hey, that was uncalled for...” You said. “I’m not cheating on you, what are you talking about?”
“You don’t care about me anymore.” She threw another pillow at you. “You only think about yourself and you’re always talking about other girls.”
“Stop-” You shielded your face with your arms while she desperately looked around for another thing to throw.
“You’re always on the damn phone and yet you didn’t call me once!” Her face was tense and red. She looked like she was on the verge of tears.
You felt awful.
“Maki, please hear me out.”
“...”
“I did not cheat on you. I’ve been treating you in a way you do not deserve and I want to apologize for that.” You said. “Please forgive me.”
She turned her back to you once again. You scooted closer to her and gently embraced her from behind.
“I’m sorry... Don’t cry.” You hugged her a little closer and she pressed her head against your chest. “I love you. I would never choose another person over you.”
She returned the hug.
“I will call you everyday from now on. We’ll go on lots of dates.” You said. “So now, please let me see your smile.”
“Idiot...” She laughed.
Kaede Akamatsu
She didn’t want to believe it. She refused to doubt you, but you left her with no choice.
You refused all of her invitations to go out and seemed to be avoiding her.
Whenever she saw you, you were talking with other girls or on the phone.
She was sad, hurt and confused.
She couldn’t take it any longer. She had to confront you.
“S/o, do you have a moment? I need to talk to you.”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Sit down.” She tapped on the chair next to her. You did as she asked.
“What do you want to talk about?”
She took a deep breath then said: “I... I want to break up with you.”
“..W-what!?”
“Why are you so surprised?!” Her face was beginning to turn pink and tears were forming in the corners of her eyes. “You don’t love me anymore so I- I...”
She tried to finish her sentence but started sobbing and shaking instead.
You placed a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to console her. She shook your hand off and looked at you, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Please... Just go already.”
“Will you explain to me what the hell you’re talking about?”
“..Huh?”
“I don’t love you? What do you mean?” You wiped her tears off with your sleeve.
“You’re the most amazing girl I’ve ever met, of course I love you. Care to tell me what’s up now?”
“You... love me?” She sniffled. “How can you say that when you’re seeing other girls?”
“What.? I’m not seeing anyone. Besides you that is.”
“You aren’t? Really?!” She grabbed your hand and stared intensely into your eyes.
“Um.. Yeah?” You scratched your head in confusion.
“Thank god!” She wrapped her arms around you and pulled you in a tight hug. “I knew it! I’m so glad!”
You patted her back.
“I would never do something like that to you.” You said. “Though I can see where you got the wrong idea. I have to study for my exams so that’s why I haven’t been able to spend much time with you.”
“I’m sorry for doubting you.”
“It’s alright.”
“No, it’s not! I’ll make it up to you. You’ll see!”
She decided to helped you with the subjects she’s good at and she made sure to apologize again just in case.
Angie Yonaga
You were lending a friend who was going on a date some clothes.
She was sitting on your bed while you looked around in the drawers for something she could wear.
“What do you think of this?” You showed her a dress.“That’s pretty cute!”
“You can try it on if you want. I’ll go outside so you can change.”
“Alright. Thanks!”
(...)
“S/o, I can’t close the zipper...”
“Wait up, I’m coming in.” You stepped inside once again closing the door after you. “Let me help you.”
You were trying to close the dress when suddenly...
*Creak*
“S/o, I’m home!”
Crap.
You glanced at the other side of the room. Standing near the now open door was Angie, with an expression on her face that you hadn’t ever seen before.
“Oh, please continue.”
“Angie, wait-“
“No need. I understand.” She gave you a tight smile then turned on her heel and disappeared down the corridor.
“Angie!”
You ran after your girlfriend, wondering how the hell you could explain the situation to her.
“There you are...” You finally caught up to her.
“S/o it’s okay, don’t worry.”
“Uh?”
“I’m leaving, you can go back to what you were doing.” She started piling her things. “Atua wishes you and your new partner the best.”
“What new partner? She’s my friend!”
“No need for excuses, s/o. I’m not mad.”
“I know you say that, but your face is really tense right now.”
“Nonsense, I’m alright!”
“Angie, please let me explain.” You placed your hand on her shoulder.
“I don’t want to hear it!” She yelled, tousling her own hair in frustration.
You looked at her with your mouth agape.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to shout at you.” She sighed. “It’s just... Imagining you with another girl is making me incredibly mad.”
“She‘s just my friend- I’m not dating her!”
“...Atua will eventually forgive you if you tell the truth now.”
“I *am* telling the truth! You have to believe me. Can’t we just talk this over?”
“Yes, but I suggest you do it quickly.” She continued packing her things.
You explained the situation to her and she listened quietly.
She seemed relieved but you could see she was still mad.
You wrapped your arms around her small frame and held her close to you.
“I’m sorry Angie...” You said. “I didn’t think you’d get this upset over something like this... Next time I’ll make sure to let you know beforehand.”
“You better! Atua won’t forgive you next time.” She returned the hug.

Something isn’t Right
(alt. “Atua said bye, bitches!) [ok, so. I intended to make it a whole game re-write, but stopped on the first chapter and the alternative title is actually the chapter title]
Summary:
It all begins when Yonaga Angie pushes Momota Kaito down the stairs. Wait... what?
Words: 936 but I talk more about the AU at the end
The annoying music started playing. Meaning the time limit is almost up.
Kaede yells in righteous anger, but I focus on the noise from the outside of the classroom we're in.
Saihara Shuichi... the protagonist?
- I hear people talking... in the hallway...
- Huh? People talking?
Yes, that's what I said.
- Kaito, Gonta, Maki...
Great, she's saying their names now, I can see myself who's there. I swear, Kaede is amazing and all, it's just that... she seems to be out of it sometimes. And I don't really blame her, given the situation we were put in, but what if they heard her? One of them might be the mastermind.
- Tenko, Angie, Himiko and... Rantaro, too?
The seven continued to walk down the stairs, thankfully without noticing us.
But then something unexpected happened. Something unbelievable. Of the sort that feels like it wasn't suppoused to happen.
Angie rushed forward to the front of the group where Kaito was... and then... she pushed him with more force than one would suspect she could muster.
The terrible sounds followed. Neck snapping. People screaming. Body Discovery Annoucement playing.
Momota Kaito... the first? victim???
Everyone gathered and Monokuma showed up.
Yonaga Angie, the culprit who used the First Blood Perk.
Before leaving with Monokuma Angie wanted to say goodbye... or admonition.
Firstly, she walked up to Kaede, who was standing next to me still close to the door of the classroom we were before in. Reaching out to her with both hands she said:
- Angie already took it in her own hands, you can hand over your burden to Atua's care and be forgiven.
- What? Angie, I don't-
- In your backpack.
Angie's face darkens, she still smiles calmly, yet looks threateningly and considering she just killed a man... Kaede isn't the only one who feels affected by this.
Hesitating, she slowly pulls down her backpack and opens it to reveal... a shot put ball?!
Shot put ball lands in Yonaga Angie's hands.
I take in the features of Kaede's anxious face, trying to understand. Why? What was she planning to do with it?
In the meantime Angie walked over to Rantaro and had him bend down, so she could pat his head, while talking.
- Atua says everything feels heavier the longer you carry it. You should weight your deeds and your blessings, ceiling might fall on your head if you won't keep them in balance. Take your blessings, take them by the hands, they will lead you out of the dark. Your own effort will get you nowhere... Ah!
She leaves the ball in his hands and suddenly yells and turns to... Kokichi? She points her finger at him, almost touching his nose.
- Hey, get your murdery hands off me!
... or maybe actually doing so.
- The one with eyes.
- Literally everybody here has eyes.
- ... Ah yes, mom once told Angie. You should not let men think too high of himself, even tell him to his face "You're not that special" or he will make a ruin out of himself while trying to become something bigger than he can contain, because men's nature is like a baloon...
She looked in the direction of the dead body and then back at him.
- But that's not what this is is about. Atua says that neither Heart can lead anywhere, but to the undepending doom of the soul or Legs know where to go.
She gestures respectively to Kaede, Tenko and at him again.
- You know what you're capable of, but look at them. Hands are eager to work and Mind is slower than you, but comes to clearer conclusions. How do you suppouse Eyes could work without using Mind's help.
She's running around the cramped space, looking as if she was possesed. While mentioning hands she grabs Gonta's hand for a second and then she's off again. This time approaching me. I don't dare breath when she puts her hand on my cheek, but in a moment she's back in front of Kokichi.
- You can save those who can follow, but don't look back at the doomed in the dark.
She takes off her necklace and shoves it into his hands.
- Look, there's not one, but many on the string, keeping each other in place. Atua wants you to have it, deformis rat puerum. It saddens Atua that he can't help you more, but you're a stubborn one.
Next she goes to Tsumugi and forces her thumb in terrified girl's mouth, pulling her mouth open.
- God knows your lies and truths. Not all can be forgiven.
She steps away and seems to be lost in thought for a minute. Nobody is saying anything, the stage is hers only. We just wait for what she's going to do next. Ah, she's moving again, searching for something?... someone.
-Here you are, Ryoma! Atua has something important to tell you.
She found him leaning on one of the walls and kneeled down to look him in the eyes with one hand on his shoulder  speaking cheerfully like all of the dark and serious atmosphere she created was never there.
- Happiness is coming your way and the resistance is futile. Tough Shoulder, don't shrug it off, you're important to the whole body. Let Eyes see yourself, he'll know what to do.
Ouma Kokichi -Eyes. The blind. Saihara Shuichi - Mind. The stupid. Amami Rantaro - Skull. The carefree. Akamatsu Kaede - Heart. The heartless. Chabashira Tenko - Legs. The weak. Gokuhara Gonta - Hands. The slippery. Shirogane Tsumugi - Mouth. The quiet. Hoshi Ryoma - Shoulder. The soft. The chosen ones and what can make them or break them.
Yonaga Angie graduated. Count down: 14
[I have to admit I had fun with this fic, but I cringe at some bits, especially the attempted use of latin. I really wanted to use this fic to explore how characters can influence each other and try my hand at writing diffrent ships than saiouma, which is why there’s set up for ouhoshi and amasaimatsu with still strong but platonic saiouma undertones, but I’d have to write more murders to be able to do it and I just can’t do that to myself, I don’t mean the angst, I mean the creative process, I am brain dead.]

A song that plays on and on...
Something had caught my attention while rewatching Kaede’s brutal end...
Tumblr media
You can see two creepy dolls placed from either side of where Kaede was dangling, but there’s something weird about the doll on the right...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I can’t say the same about the doll on the left, the doll on the right clearly has something written on the chest area. (In Japanese kanji of course ^^;) Though, I’m afraid no matter how bright I make the picture or how close I zoom in, it still comes across as blurry. (if there’s a way to make it more noticeable, I’m open to suggestions...)
Anyway, upon looking at that, I was reminded of what the Necronomicon in Chapter 3 said on how to perform a seance to “bring the dead back to us”, as Angie would put it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Angie’s effigies were much more needlessly detailed than what the book had suggested, but keep in mind, she wasn’t planning on making more than one until Atua compelled her to do it. I’ll save the subject about Angie’s intentions with the seance for another time, but what I’m trying to say here is that making effigies lifelike is not the only way to perform the seance.
One would think that the intent on using a seance book for a motive was to manipulate the students into making a sacrifice to get their transfer student, but when they read the book themselves, it didn’t say anything about using a living sacrifice to make an equivalent exchange. So if deceiving them wasn’t the intent of the motive, then what other purpose was there other than to actually tease them with an opportunity to bring back a friend?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s also the fact that Monokuma would insist that the Necronomicon really does work even after he had the third trial like he wanted. The killer didn’t use the motive, but if having a murder happen was really all Monokuma desired, he would’ve stopped insisting on it when it was all over. If Monokuma was fully aware that the whole seance book was made for a cruel joke, he could’ve just said so. It’s weird how he kept pushing on the fact that the book was legit when everyone was clearly not buying into it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also found this part to be really strange. Because for all of us who’ve known Monokuma from the very beginning, his answer to Maki’s question should either be YES or some roundabout twisted philosophical way of saying YES. But instead his answer was left uncertain. Maki also asked him a question at the end of the first trial if the person behind Monokuma had some kind of grudge against them to put them through this game and he gave her the same unclear answer. But of course, a lot of us took it as his way of saying “Wait til the final chapter and find out for yourselves!”. But here, he couldn’t be straightforward with the purpose of the Necronomicon and it was never brought up again after this. Why? After all, they used the Necronomicon as a motive and every motive in this series thus far were meant to be used to push the students to commit murder. If Monokuma couldn’t say that the book was meant to commit more murders and say that the seance didn’t need human sacrifices in order for it to work, then what else is it for?
The answer should be simple, right? Either it works or it doesn’t. And yet Monokuma left it up to us to believe if it’s true to bring the dead back to life or not in this world.
Tumblr media
With that being said, let’s put the focus back onto the creepy dolls. Taken what we know from the book, having to write the name of the deceased was part of the instructions. And while it’s hard to get a clearer picture of the chest, I think the only possible name it could be is Kaede ( 楓 ). Honestly I can’t make out the strokes from the right, but I do see the sword-looking strokes on the left.
As unfortunate as it is for me to consider, Kaede’s execution has actually given us a major hint that she and maybe some other characters (I don’t know if it’s all of them), were brought back from the dead before the story even started. And just when you think her death couldn’t be anymore cruel...
Tumblr media
If my understanding is correct, she may have been brought back, not once, not twice, but 6 times to just die the same death over and over...
This just puts a whole new meaning behind what Ouma was saying to Kaito in the flashback. Not because they weren’t avenged yet, but because they had played this game too many times already.
Tumblr media
And how Monokuma laughs about how the killing game will go on forever!
Tumblr media
Monokuma would make the same speech all throughout the story about how life has no meaning, death can be cruel and how people can be easily forgotten and replaced after they’ve died, much like how the Monokubs were brought back only to be blown up in the very next chapter.
I don’t think the idea behind the speeches were meant to be referring to the fiction/reality show twist. Sure, they were all being watched, but that may not be why he said all that. By being replaced, I think it goes along with the resurrection idea much better than to think they would all be replaced by new contestants following through a script.
By thinking that you can resurrect loved ones whenever you want, you’d be treating death as no big deal. And by killing people for your own amusement while knowing you have a way of bringing them back, that’s when you think life has no meaning. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why Monokuma calls himself the God of this world...
Tumblr media
Which is strange, considering that he got all petty over everyone doubting him and his insistence that the Necronomicon works. It shouldn’t matter to him either way, so why would he even want them to bring somebody back in the first place? If the book does work, then that would’ve revealed a devastating truth to the participants, wouldn’t it?
But what then? What would that bring Monokuma if they were to follow through with it?

***Do NOT look at this story if you don't like any of the following; Mpreg, Swearing, Blood and dark themes! Viewer discretion is advised!!!*** Okay ^^ Please don't hate, this the first fanfiction for me.
"A few days before the trial and yet Chester, The cutest boss from BINR has fallen sick to some fucking illness or whatever bullshit!!! What if he dies? We can't let it happen!" I said to my friends Angie, Himiko, Tenko, Shuichi, Kokichi and Korekiyo. "Maybe It's something only magic can cure." said Himiko with a look of reasurance. "It could be pregnancy?" Angie thought. "Shuichi, Why don't you state your opinion?" Kokichi teased. "I wish I could say no to Angie but *Sniff* it does seem too plausible." Shuichi answered with tears in his eyes, Slowly turned to jealousy. "It's fucked up as to how girls are more attracted to fucked up shit like tentacles than a darling detective like me." he said. Everyone gasped at his words and started mummering with concern. "What has gotten into him?" asked Tenko. Shuichi yelled "SHUT THE FUCK EVERYONE!!! I'M NOT JEALOUS, OKAY!!! I'M JUST FEELING LONELY, OKAY!!!". I fired the first truth bullet "That's wrong!". Shuichi was stunned but finally admitted to jealousy. I calmly reassured the detective that love will come to him and that it already did and I pointed at Kaede Akumatsu. "Go get her, Tiger!" I said. Shuichi blushed. Two days later after that, I was busy rubbing Chester's belly for fun and because it's kind of cute. Then I pressed my face against it cause I was so in the moment(Think of it like giving a puppy belly rubs.) but then I heard idk, A heartbeat. I brushed it off a me being too much into cuddling the treasure chest too often(Can't help myself, He's just too cute, Could a cute creature like Chester hurt you?).
Me: *Hears heartbeat* Am I hugging you too tightly, Boi?
Chester: *Blushes* Can I at least poke you off me?
Me: *Slowly lets go of Chester* I find you adorable.
I continued to rub his belly until my hand felt an abnormality in his abdomen so I slowly walked backwards and ran. I told a friend @sally-the-pack-leader about it and she mentioned mpreg. I am a giant fan of that kind of stuff so I got curious and asked "Does that mean when I pressed my hand against Chester's belly, I felt a baby kick my hand?". Sally answered "Yee!". I was shocked but exited. "Chester is having babies??? OMG OMG OMG!!! HE'S PREGNANT!!! I gotta tell my other friend Angie about this!" I told Sally. Sally asked "Doe's she like mpreg?". I responded "She mentioned it too.". Sally replied with a thumbs up. I ran up to Angie Yonaga with an exited look on my face, Hugged her and said "Chester was actually pregnant!". She responded with "Atua was right!". We both danced with excitement over this.
***The Day of The Trial***
It was trial time and we were all nervous. Monokuma wasn't the judge but a lawyer instead. A lawyer on our side. Angie, Tenko, Himiko, Shuichi, Maki, Miu, Kaede, Korekiyo, Kokichi, Toko, Makoto and Tsumigi were on our side aswell. And so was @lil-miss-misfit, @emmys-mpreg-corner, @professionallydeadinside and @cr1spy-s0da. However, Kirume, Gonta, Kiibo, Monaca, Monika, Agent Smith, Celestia Ludenberg and Sayaka was on Bendy's side. Along with @sally-the-pack-leader, mad-hatter-ison and the Fgteev family. Intense music started playing in my head. My heart was racing like wild. It's been a few weeks since the practice trial but I'm still shacking like a fucking leaf, My heart pounding in my chest all the while Chester grabbed my arm tightly to the point of almost breaking it. "What was that???" I thought. I snapped back to reality to find out Chester grabbed my arm extremely tightly that I felt a crack in my arm. I looked at Chester to see a look of pain on his face. I was worried for the poor creature and asked "Are you okay!?". He responded "Fuck no! I'm in exrutiating agony bitch!". I looked at the judged and yelled "OBJECTION!!!!". The judge yelled "YEAH!?!?". I shouted "JUDGE!!! THE DEFENDANT IS IN AGONY!!!!". The judge looked over to see what the cluster fuck was going on and yelled "Intermission! Pause the trial!". Chester jumped into my arms whilst gripping in agony. Sometime later after almost making it half-way to the hospital on foot, Chester yelled "I CAN'T TAKE THIS PAIN ANYMORE!!!!". I found a nearby bush to take a quick rest in so we both hid there. Just as I was about to pick Chester up and continue the run to the hospital, He grabbed my arm and said "Don't worry about me, Land lover.". I looked at him with tears in his eye when he said that so I stayed in the bushes with him and told him the conclusion. "Chester... This isn't... Your intestines. ... This is a baby.". Chester looked and me and yelled "WHAT!?!?". I kneeled down to comfort Chester and explained how I came to such insane conclusion. "I was chatting with @sally-the-pack-leader about it and she was the one who gave me that answer.". Chester asked "What kind of land lover comes up with such insane conclusion?".
***Childbirth in the bushes***
In about two hours, Chester was finally understanding his own situation better. He was breathing a bit hastley but calmly. I told him to push. He was indeed pushing. I grabbed a few leaves to pat his head with. Chester just looked at me and reasurred me that he was gonna survive the labour. I kissed his forehead and told him "You're doing great.". More hours passed. Chester grabbed my arm again for support as he started pushing again. He was slipping in and out of consciousness a bit. After that, Awakening in absolute agony. I told him "You're gonna be fine.". He just looks at me a bit and continues to breath and push. Sometime passed and finally what looked a human newborn came out from the treasure chest's nose. "It's a GIRL!!!" I exclaimed at the sight of the newborn. Chester looked exaughsted when I said "Congrats, Honey!". I quickly nudged him while holding our new born. In my head I thought "Oh good god, I hope this isn't a real life Clannad scenario." but then Chester woke up and asked "Am I dead?". I immediately answered "Actually you're alive. You actually pulled through.". Chester looked at the child that came out of him and held it with curiousity "All that pain caused by you?" he said to his newborn daughter. "C'mere!" he said as he hugged the newborn. As soon as Chester was recovering, He felt a sharp pain in his abdomen so he handed his daughter to me. I looked him with worry and asked "Chester-kun? Is something wrong?". He looked at me and said "I think it's happening again.". A few more hours later Chester gave birth to another child but this time, It looked like the trilobite from Prumetheous. Neither Chester nor I knew the newborn's gender and claimed it was genderless. Chester then goes into labour, One final time. I told Chester to breath and then push for one more time. Then after the last contraction, He gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. I congratulated Chester for pulling through and surviving the labour. We named our daughter "Kaibako", Our son "Mozen" and our trilobite child "Kaizuchi". The End

Started Danganronpa V3... and yeah, it’s already a fuckton to take in. I’ll do my usual game commentary thing of course.
Weird opening scene where Kaede and Shuichi arrive in a classroom in lockers but have no talents, and it turns out the other 14 students don’t have talents either? Also we’re chased by a giant mech and it turns out there’s other ones and they’re controlled by Monokubs.
Yeah, Monokubs are a thing. So far they’re... okay, I guess? IDK if they just need to grow on me or it’s just a lot to take in, but I’m not sure I’m following their shtick, even if there’s a weirdly amusing cheesiness to them. Monodam is easily the best one though, it’s always the quiet ones you gotta watch. Monosuke has some fun meta moments and Monokid has a few nice lines, but for now I’m gonna wait and see on them. Also... Monokid has a dick???
So the students were supposedly all kidnapped by someone (Monokuma’s forces?). This will obviously come up later, also this is a different school, the Ultimate Academy, which is apparently under construction still. The Monokubs also make them all “remember” their talents, which I can’t help but find suspicious (especially since it’s later suggested them forgetting stuff could be a result of brainwashing).
Music is great as usual, though the voice in the Monokubs theme is kinda weird. Visually it definitely seems like there’s a lot of upgrades, the game looks pretty nice. Also like the gameplay mechanic of shaking objects for Monocoins. The school is a bit hard to navigate right now but hopefully I’ll get used to it.
I REALLY dig the addititon of showing Kaede’s face when she talks to other characters, it really adds more character to the interactions. I’ve seen people call Makoto and Hajime bland protagonists, and while I don’t completely agree I do think showing us Kaede’s reactions during dialogue and not just internal monologue really helps convey more personality.
I like Kaede so far! She has a few Makoto vibes with the cheerful optimist shtick, but I am getting a sense of how she’s unique. Like obviously she has her pianist talent, but I mean personality wise she seems a bit more confident, even brash at times? Also a lot of her reaction sprites in dialogue are pretty cute.
Shuichi I’m gonna wait a bit on, because I’m not sure what to think yet. I do appreciate they’re doing an ultimate detective that’s different to Kirigiri, one that’s way less sure of himself and lacks confidence. TBH I kinda get a few me vibes from him with the quiet and introverted shy guy thing, lol. Bets: him and Kaede will have some sort of romantic interactiton at some point because all these fucking games do. But yeah, no strong impressions yet but he has potential.
Tsumugi Shirogane is probably one of my faves so far. She’s just really fun and nerdy, and also kinda weird which I like. Also, Kaede, you are NOT straight, you clearly find her attractive.
Rantaro is a mystery. He’s our resident ??? of the game, so he’s obviously going to play some part in the larger story going on... probably, unless they’re subverting things. He seems like one to watch out for, he’s oddly chill about everything.
K1-B0 IDK about yet, he does kinda give me Astro Boy vibes though (but without the dead kid backstory thank fuck). So far he just seems like “the robot guy” and there to make robot jokes (not gonna lie, the “robophobic” line was pretty lousy IMO), though I’m sure that will change.
Kokichi... okay I already can’t stand this fucker. Leave K1-B0 alone you prick. Also, ultimate supreme leader of an evil organisation... if he’s not lying. He seems to REALLY be into lying. Given this game is apparently all about truth and lies, he’s definitely one to watch out for. If he’s not lying about himself, then this evil organisation might be important. Relation to plot aside... he is so fucking annoying seriously.
Miu Iruma kinda gives me Hiyoko vibes, but is somehow more likeable. Weird scientist girl could be interesting. Also she likes drugs and makes inventions to increase productivity when you sleep, lol. The pervert exchange with her and Shuichi was weird, but that’s Danganronpa, of course you have weird shit like that. Also she seems to really play up her looks, lol. Bets: she talks about how she’s the most attractive girl ever and shit but she’s gonna fall for K1-B0 isn’t she, like personality wise he’s fairly plain but he’s also a robot so she’d be fascinated by him? Or will that be subverted too lol.
Himiko isn’t too remarkable right now even if her backstory is intriguing, Tenko isn’t too much either but she does have a bit more going for her in terms of personality. Also I guess she’s our Mahiru, calling boys degenerates. :P Also... Kaede did you find her attractive as well? Maki I feel the same about too, she does have potential but there’s not much to say.
IDK what’s up with Ryoma, but he definitely is gonna be a killer or be killed at some point. He seems ready to kill, it’s hilarious.
Korekiyo is weird. Not much to say. He’s just really fucking weird.
Kaito is pretty charismatic, a hotshot astronaut. In terms of likeability he ranks one of the highest as of now.
Kirumi Tojo is a maid... with how she seems willing to serve everyone, I definitely think she’d gonna be caught up in a murder somehow, whether she does it for someone or does something for a blackened.
Not sure about Gonta, it’s cool that he’s nice but the first person is pretty heavy handed. Also the animals thing reminds me of Gundham, lol. He feels very Tarzan, living in the wild and raised by wolves. Wonder if saying you hate bugs will cause a murder?
Angie... okay I don’t think I’m a fan, because TBH she feels racist. She’s clearly Pasifika, probably Polynesian (Atua are apparently Polynesian gods and spirits, and she says Atua is her god), but it feels like such a stereotype of indigenous people. She acts simple and naive, is cheerful to strangers, does everything because of a god, wears only a bikini under her robe (because apparently Polynesian people all dress like fucking hula girls or something) and does sacrifices (that involve blood, because of course they’re brutal). I hope they flesh her out more, because this stereotypical portrayal really isn’t sitting well with me.
Thank fuck Monokuma finally shows up at the end of the Prologue. I love how hilariously heavy handed the line about him being knowledgeable from reading “alternate facts” from “fake news” (YES THEY FUCKING WENT THERE).
I do wonder how this is all going to fit together, especially since in the intro they showed all the past games and the Danganronpa 3 anime to indicate this is in fact a continuation of the same story and not a soft reboot. I’ve heard a couple of things here and there and I’m not sure how much context I have, but these things tied with all this talk about everything feeling fake and like it’s not real (especially when they just suddenly “remember” their talents) is certainly fishy. There’s also been a lot of fourth wall breaking (especially with that weird intro where everyone had no talents and the mechs and they had to redo it when they “regained” their memories) and talk about not following the script correctly, hmm...
There was a shot of Kaede lying in some kind of chamber. Is this more Neo-World shit going on?
Okay WOW that’s a lot, I should play some more tonight.

Could we have all the ways the DR3 kids act at parties?
I wish I can drink
Legally ~ Mod Eri
Kokichi Ouma: Y’all know damn well this man putting some laxative or alcohol in these fruit punch bowls y’know the one’s from the 90′s where you pour it in your cup with a fucking spoon and he will stay sober doing it. He laughs at everyone’s drunken stupor, will record anyone who is dumb enough to trust him in their presence. That one kid where you don’t know where his invite came from except now he’s suggesting trashing the principal’s office and you’re kinda like
A’ight
Shuichi Saihara: The type to desperately find his group of friends as soon as physically possible. Will have a shot here and there, but only because everyone around him seems to be doing it, so fuck it. Only at his worst of nights will he drink excessively, and someone has to put a stop to it right now immediately because he will drink himself to a coma. Does not condone any of Kokichi Ouma’s behavior and will certainly try to stop it. Good luck.
Kaede Akamatsu: Will not drink, and expects that everyone else will do the same… and when they don’t she begs them to drink less. Everyone will find some way to have a conversation with her because she is such a social butterfly, even if she doesn’t mean to be. Understands the fruit punch bowl is spiked, understands that everyone else knows, and then enjoys the rest of the night knowing she doesn’t have school tomorrow. Constantly walking around to find something to do.
Rantaro Amami: He’s like Ramona Flowers except when you do strike up a conversation with him, he accepts it and continues the discussion. Sits at some couch in the middle of the entertainment, popcorn in hand, watching Miu and Angie play beer pong in the name of Atua. Will partake in a shot or two, but other than that, he remains sober throughout the entire party. Will try, and fail, to stop Kokichi in the event that this party becomes too wild. Will invite girls upstairs to do their nails.
Miu Iruma: The LIFE of the party, and she damn well knows it. Miu can outdrink everyone in her class, and considers it her mission to become absolutely shitfaced drunk at the end of the night. If possible, she will find someone to sleep with if they’re so willing. Starts every single game of Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever, Spin The Bottle, etc… she breaks hearts yet mends them at the same time. She isn’t innocent about any of those group activities either, and particularly singles out people like K1-BO or Gonta.
I dare ya’ to kiss him! Fuck him! I don’t care, just go in the closet!
Tsumugi Shirogane: Has to be the best dressed at this party or else it was a waste of her time. She is one to have no clue about the fruit punch bowl, the spoon brushing against the tip of her red solo cup without a clue in the world as to what its doing to her. Becomes hilariously touchy by the end of the night, and throws away all the shame or embarrassment she ever had. That being said, if she is lucky enough to be at a party where she’s comfortable and in her area, she finds a small group of people and tends to stick with them for the rest of the night. Perhaps they can go upstairs and study, without the music distracting them…
Korekiyo Shinguji: Literally no one invited him but he’s here anyway. Hi, nice to meet you I fucked my sister Remains oddly quiet throughout the ordeal, choosing to only witness the disaster that follows when Miu bares her chest for her classmates to see or when Tenko’s fist meets a guy’s face upon unwanted advances… forms of entertainment, he supposes. He brings up voodoo or some shit like that to some classmate that tagged along for the ride, and somehow only candles are lighting up the house and there’s a seance happening. Everyone’s already drunk, might as well
This is where people like Shuichi or Kaede promptly flee.
Maki Harukawa: No one talk to her or else they face the consequences. Doesn’t want to be here in the first place except Kaito promised it would be fun except… she’s not having fun. Her arms are crossed as she sits in the corner and eyes the punch bowl, and she makes up some stupid joke about what is it called when people wait to have a cup of juice? A punch line and it’s so dumb she wants to actually, physically punch someone for it. She does seem to be more at ease when someone she likes begins a conversation with her, but tries to find any possible way to leave or reach somewhere more quiet.
K1-BO: Would also rather be anywhere else but here, but appreciates the sentiment of having able to study the behavior of his classmates and friends in such a situation. Perhaps, he thinks, he will be able to understand the life of a teenager this way. Partakes in the occasional drink that he cannot understand a buzz to, and hops into an occasional game of Never Have I Ever where… he takes one sip from his beverage. Everyone around him is babbling and cursing and he has to attempt desperately to stay sane in a party where everyone lacks shame or understanding of their behavior in public. Spends the rest of it running away from Miu
Kaito Momota: A man who can outdrink Miu, although he only does it if he has to. He is also a social butterfly, but he will make sure people like Maki are comfortable if need be; he is also a prime player in all drinking games, and refuses to leave the party without having fun. If he decides that parties are not his thing, not a problem; the blur and muffle of different genres behind his ear allow such beautiful stargazing. Those are the days where he can’t help but remain absolutely, positively sober… just so he can enjoy a life dwindling before him.
Himiko Yumeno: QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT RIGHT HERE. People not used to her talent will go batshit crazy for her magic tricks; she would pull a bunny out of her hat in front of a group of people, and no one would notice that obvious trick she pulled because everyone present doesn’t even know how to walk in a straight line. Has her own table of Dungeons and Dragons that nerds and jocks alike flock to, simply because no one seems to want to do anything but drink and see what happens. Everyone wants to be her friend afterward, especially after she just PULLED OUT THEIR CARD WHAT THE FUCK HOW DID SHE KNOW
Angie Yonaga: Angie Yonaga drinks for fun. In the name of Atua, she relies on her entertainment through the strength and will of her God and… plays an insane game of beer pong. Her hands seem to be adept on something other than art, to their surprise, but people are shook when she downs the drink swishing around in her cup like its nothing. Secretly tries to lure people in the realm of Atua and his greatness, and has no problem luring anyone she likes to bed. If Atua allows it, then who is she to deny?
Gonta Gokuhara: This isn’t what he signed up for. Someone promised him bugs… yet, now he feels as if his feet don’t meet the ground. His vision is swaying as the people chatter around him, downing red solo cups and stuffing food in their mouths. Before that, he is a naive gentlemen who attempts to get to know everyone at this party. He actively chooses not to partake in such games; as much as he wants to understand them and play, Miu is clutching at her chest and Angie’s public display of affection is getting a bit too much… so no. When he is drunk, you best believe he’s crashing at this place because there is no way he can last long in the wild with his consciousness not fully there.
Tenko Chabashira: Will make a party 100% more interesting if she sees a guy and they decide to get too close to her. Not only is it entertaining to everyone around her to see someone get beat up, but to see some guy get got? That’s why you go to parties, kiddies. Other than that, she will follow Himiko around and assist her on her magical tricks, even resting her chin on her shoulder as her best friend succeeds in her position as Dungeon Master I watched Stranger Things I got this Doesn’t drink that often unless there is only girls around, as she doesn’t trust men enough to let herself go around.
Now whoever spiked that punch bowl…
Kirumi Tojo: Does not understand for the life of her why these kids partake in such acts. However, she swoops down and picks up a beer can, a bottle… throwing it into the garbage. Sighs as she snatches a shot glass from one of her classmates. Her palm meets her face as she watches yet another one of her friends embarrass themselves around a group of people, with not a single care in the world as to what’s going to happen to them. That being said, certain acts of violence are entertaining to her… that brings about a chuckle. If you’re lucky enough to have Kirumi at your party, don’t let her go,,, make her stay long after the party ends
So she can do what you can’t: clean and make sure the school doesn’t hear about this.
Ryoma Hoshi: You forget he’s even there but it’s cool because he killed people and that’s kind of rad. Is a silent drinker, meaning that he prefers not to show off his tendency to stay sober after a certain amount of drinks. Chills in some corner with people like Maki except refuses to make any eye contact or begin any conversation… so then why are you here? Anyway, he must have gotten an invite from a close friend because he watches what goes down and there’s a small grin on his face because his classmates are so damn interesting and pure in their own ways. He wishes that he could get used to something like this.

Chapter 2, Act 5: The Curious Case of the Siblings Shinguji
Daily Life- Free Time
Korekiyo wasn’t expecting any company as he left the dining hall the next day. He certainly wasn’t expecting it to be Kibo either. But lo and behold here they were, with the robotic approximation of a boy offering him the Story of Tokono. And who was he to turn down such a fine gift? It hardly mattered if the volume could be found in his lab or not, it wasn’t often he was the target of friendly gestures like this.
“So what brings you here Kibo? People rarely offer gifts without the expectation of gaining something in return. May I help you with something?”
“I hope you can? I was just wondering what your stance is in regards to Atua. You must know a lot about many faiths, even if you don’t strike me as religious yourself, given your various studies I assume.”
Ah, I see. Perhaps it would be for the best to tread cautiously then. I have no reason to cause him any undue crisis just yet at any rate.
“I have no knowledge on the sort of Atua she worships so if you’re looking for any particular works of his I’m afraid I can’t be of much service. If you’re asking whether or not I believe there is any truth to her claims of possession or divine inspiration… There are many cases across the globe that boast such claims and it’s nigh impossible to separate true instances from mere bouts of madness. But as in my personal experience, I know other forms of possession to be true among human subjects I see no reason to doubt it being possible in her case either. Does this answer suffice?”
Attempting to convince one who’s been brainwashed that the subject of their belief doesn’t exist would only serve to make things more difficult for everyone at present. Besides, I’m not really lying to him yet.
“So there’s no way to know for sure?” Kibo still looked most conflicted with his answer. ( Was he looking for genuine “proof” of Atua’s existence even if he was at “His prophet’s” beck and call? Most intriguing. )
“In this case no, but that is why this is called “faith” yes? If you choose to believe in Angie that’s up to you, just as none could force me to agree with her either. Not out of any disrespect for her mind you, but in my line of work I find it most useful to keep myself unconcerned with any “gods” I’m presented with. If invoking one is a matter of politeness then I will do what I must, but I’ve encountered too many that contradict each other to believe in more than their follower’s stories they are presented with.”
“I see… So this is what the emotion “faith” feels like. I understand! But to you this is more about putting my trust, my “faith”, in Angie rather than believing in Him?”
... You “understand” nothing Kibo. Faith isn’t an emotion, but rather a feeling based on one's belief- No. That might take a while to distinguish for him. And he is certainly trying to better understand himself. I’ll let him keep this, it should do his self-esteem some good at the very least. Correcting him can come later.
It was likely to Korekiyo’s benefit Kibo wasn’t one to take much notice of subtle social cues like “awkward pauses”, as from what he gathered from the way Kibo looked at him he was assuming his friend was merely talking a while to think through his response. The fact it was a positive one was likely also a sign Kibo was rather poor at reading any of Korekiyo’s expressions too, perhaps due to what his mask covers.
“For myself, most certainly. Humans are the only thing I’m truly concerned about, even if the topic can branch into other subjects such as what’s created through their beliefs. They can provide interesting similarities among different groups of people even if the groups involved had never once interacted.”
“How exactly are you defining “human” Kiyo?” ( ... Right. Persecution complex. How quaint. No matter. )
“Kehehe, am I being added to your list of “robophobic” individuals now? I meant no such offense. I’m certainly open to studying other sapient species should the opportunity arise, such as Gonta’s Reptites, for they provide new means of comparing human cultures. To better see what may be “universal” thoughts among sentient beings and thus sort out what may be more human-centric points of issue. I am an anthropologist after all; the human element would remain my greatest point of interest. As such I am more inclined to think of you in human terms, to better match your mind, rather than robotic ones.”
The issue of personhood would remain an open point of debate I’m sure, but humans have often tried to deny each other this right. Even if his robotic nature does make his case less interesting to me personally.
“I would appreciate not being limited to be thought of one way or the other. I may be based on humans but I’m not sure how accurate your assessment is as there are many aspects of the human condition I am obviously not attuned to. Like… Gender. I have no idea how this would apply to someone like me.”
Why must you be so difficult? I hardly need the reminder about your numerous inadequacies- No. Best not to think about him in such a way. Lackluster as he may be in concept, he’s still more than human enough in practice. Particularly with these horrid animatronic bears serving as a point of comparison.
“There are many things people can’t be sure they truly understand about themselves or others. Even gender as it’s conventionally considered isn’t nearly as rigid or binary as some cultures, such as our own, like to portray and socialize them as. Not that some of us here would likely understand I’m sure.”
Immature as it may be Korekiyo hoped the soft jab at a few of their friend’s expenses would help lighten some of Kibo’s tone, but it was hard for him to tell if it worked as intended. Not an unusual experience for him by any means, so instead he changed direction.
“Do you have any issues with how we are addressing you because of this? Many aspects of your appearance do incline one to treat you as though you are male but I understand if this can prove to be rather vexing for you.”
“Well… No. I don’t think I do at least? It’s not like I know what else I would like to be called, and this is certainly easier for everyone. “It” or “They” are too othering, trying to use female terms for myself doesn’t feel right at all, and anything else sounds... kinda weird to me. But I will certainly keep this information in mind for future reference!” ( There we go, he’s in higher spirits now. Much better. )
“I’m glad I could be of some service to you then. I do apologize if it’s not quite what you were expecting of me. Though given current tensions in the school I find your own visit here most peculiar. Is your council having any troubles the rest of us should be aware of?”
“N-no, not at all! Everything is under control. We even got another member last night. Nothing to be worried about.” Kibo said though he was as bad a liar as ever, since he strove to look anywhere else rather than risk meeting Korekiyo’s gaze. It was always fascinating to see how lying changed people.
This did limit the possibilities on who the new recruit could be if nothing else. But between Kokichi and Kaede this reaction was still a toss-up given Kibo’s personal grievances with both of them as of late.
“I’m sorry but I’ll have to be going now. Student council business. But thank you for your help Kiyo.”
With that not unpleasant anomaly out of the way, Kiyo returned to going over his lab’s works. There was still so much to discover, even with the delightful boons already uncovered such as the original Caged Dog Village’s tragic tome and its related artifacts. Not to mention how they already served to inspire him.
It almost seemed unfair for his lab to be so much larger and densely stocked than the others discovered thus far, but he wasn’t about to complain. A certain artist waltzing in unannounced and messing with the artifacts whilst he was preoccupied on the higher levels was a different story.
“Do be careful with how you are handling those Angie, pieces as old as these can be most delicate. Are you looking for references or inspiration perhaps?” (She’s not one to respond well to hostility, I’m not sure how often she’s ever even encountered it before. So let’s just try to stay calm. She’s no Kokichi. )
“Nope! Just looking. Atua provides me with all the inspiration I’ll ever need. And to ask you a question, has Kaede tried talking to you yet today?” (So it was Kaede after all. Odd choice to join her rival’s cult. )
“No, which isn’t surprising as she’s been giving my lab and to a lesser extent myself a fair berth as of late. Should I be expecting her?” Korekiyo was grateful for the lack of walls to dampen his voice as he made his way to the ground floor. Partly as it’d be less rude to carry a conversation that way and partly to make it easier keep her out of trouble. “Though if you have the time I would love to hear more about what your people and customs are like. If we manage to leave this place I’d enjoy paying your home visit.”
“You shouldn’t keep thinking like that you know. It’ll only cause more problems for us in here. You wouldn’t want Atua to punish you for defying his will now would you?”
How about I “punish” you instead, you conniving close-minded childish-  Calm down. Just avoid the topic. Neither of your opinions will be swayed here. She hasn’t been averse to talking about her culture in the past so simply reframe your request in a way that better plays to her own desires.
“I’d like to see him try, it would be a most unique experience I’m sure. Kehehe, it may even be able to make a believer out of me yet. But I would genuinely like to know more of your background even if the outside is no longer an option. If you think “culture clash” may be an issue you face when relating to the rest of us this could prove to be most beneficial for everyone in the long term could it not?”
There might have been a bit too much venom in his response to count as “calm” but the effort was being made. Angie wasn’t particularly convinced to become any more forthcoming unfortunately, but she hid her frustration with him most admirably with a large smile and hands clasped together in forced glee.
“Hopefully things won’t need to be that drastic for you to see the light! But until you do Angie doesn’t think she’ll be sharing anything just yet. If Kiyo doesn’t trust Angie why should Angie trust Kiyo?”
None of you should but you’re all essentially doing so anyway. Such a beautiful mistake in the making. It’ll almost be a shame when everyone else realizes this. But I’m sure your reactions will be well worth it.
“Why should I trust you in the first place? Given you won’t let anyone but yourself even look at our latest motive, much less weigh in on decisions regarding it. You do realize that the book it claims to be was the fictional creation of a certain Mr. Lovecraft yes? Hardly any reason for us to put stock into its claims about revival, even if you view it as a retrieval. Though with how you invoke your “Atua” for your own benefit I can see why honesty may not matter to you. What people think is more important to you yes?”
“... Angie doesn’t think she wants to talk to you anymore now. She doesn’t need to bother with baseless ramblings. Atua knows something’s wrong with you, and now He thinks maybe she can’t even help you anymore. But hopefully Kaede could talk some sense into you. Or at least make you see you’re wrong.”
I already know I am suspicious and “odd” Angie, your bluffs at knowing anything more are but a waste. Had you any sort of divine “protection” at least one of us wouldn’t be in here right now, would we?
Korekiyo did feel a twinge of what may have been guilt at the sight of her still masking her anger with a small smile as she left his lab in a hurry. He often had troubles dealing with personalities like hers, much in the same way talking to children can prove a most tiresome and fruitless endeavor.
It was a shame he might not get the chance to learn at least who Angie’s people were before her time came, but such is life. She did at least give him something to look into at the present though, even if Kaede may not appreciate him visiting just yet.
He didn’t need to look for her for long, as she was in her lab much like his map indicated. Hopefully his intrusion wouldn’t be too upsetting for her, as he had been trying to make up for his earlier mistake. One never could tell how long a person could be negatively affected by an act of carelessness like this.
It was a pleasant surprise that she didn’t look too bothered by his presence. She even took the time to pause her playing to properly address him. “Oh, hey Kiyo. Are you looking for something? I’m not sure I have many songs here that fit what you said interested you before, but I’d be happy to help if I could.”
“I’m actually here because Angie indicated you may be wishing to talk to me about something. Perhaps relating to why our previous leader has apparently joined our would be dictator’s tyrannical cult?”
“O-oh. Well first off it’s probably not what you’re thinking. Just… Make sure the door is closed okay?” ( And what would she think I’d be assuming? She’s not the weak-willed sort of person who’d genuinely buy into something like this, nor does a new loss of faith feel fitting. But neither was Tenko I suppose. )
Once she was confident the soundproofed door was firmly shut she resumed playing as if hoping the extra noise would further help mask what was being discussed. A pity to see how this game was making her become more paranoid to try and respond to their previous tragedies, but an understandable one.
And there is always something beautiful in the way humans learn to adapt to their situations, for better or for ill. It would be wonderful to see how else our situation might try to change her for the sake of protecting herself and those she has come to care about. Assuming she can last long enough to show it.
“I’ve already talked to Kaito and Kokichi about this but I’m just trying to convince Angie to postpone the ritual for another day. As far as she should be concerned I joined the student council to unite the class again and that means this day is to “convert” you all so the motive will be used as a group event of sorts tomorrow. I didn’t know what else I could do, since trying to stop her probably wouldn’t have worked.”
“So you’d like for us to all play along with this for the time being?”
“If you could that’d be great. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll be able to take the book away from her or something as a more permanent solution for this. I don’t want to risk it being used for real.”
“You do realize Kirumi was likely already attempting something similar yes? Her dedication to Angie’s ideals is obviously untrue, given how worried she is about her supposed wards beyond our current cage. I do believe you even saw firsthand how surprisingly lax she is being with her duties last night, despite how she normally fulfills her given tasks down to their very letter. Unless my ears had deceived me.”
“Well I… I mean I didn’t know for sure before, and I have no idea what she’s actually planning to do when Angie’s really ready to try and bring back Himiko.”
Because you are still all too trusting even with how this place has tried to change you. It’s not like Angie was ever one of her actual “citizens” and Kirumi will do anything to leave this place. Why else allow me to do as I will but try to set me up as her perfect patsy, given the ample opportunities I’d have with how our labs are on the same floor? It wouldn’t even be wrong of you to suspect me of doing such a thing.
“Do you really think she’ll believe you if you claim we’ve all had a change of heart? She’d have more than enough reason to think Kokichi, Kaito, or I are being less than sincere and her disdain for Ryoma and Maki has been equally apparent.”
“I think this does still have a chance of working. And speaking of… Try to go easy on Kaito for awhile okay? He hasn’t been well lately and I don’t want him getting any worse so I’m trying to help with stress.”
Oh my, now this is interesting. She’s referring to that boorish brute of a boy from the other night, isn’t she? It would serve him right to be paid another visit for how he treated me. Honestly Korekiyo you really do need to raise your standards if you’re honestly considering someone that rude as a “friend” of yours.
Come now Sister, he isn’t so bad. Merely a bit old fashioned and a touch too earnest for his own good. Besides, it isn’t like you to be so active this early, no need to be hasty. Best we not rock the boat just yet.
Unexpected as his sister’s input was it wasn’t hard to keep any signs of his newly divided attention from showing. He’s had years of practice after all, and Kaede had no reason to look for any changes. She’d probably just take any pause she’d notice as being a moment while he considered her request.
“Of course, besides I doubt I’ll be seeing him much today at any rate. I do hope he improves soon.”
Are you seriously refusing me , brother? This isn’t like you either. Certainly not for a miserable lot like this. What could even be the harm of it? I merely want to mess with him a little. You can’t deny you’d like to see how he squirms when pushed too, with how pitiful his nerves are. Unless she’s who you’d rather see?
It’s not like that Sister. If everything is to go to plan it’d be best not to draw needless attention to myself.
Fine. But I think I want to be properly introduced to her next. You’d at least still do that for me, right little brother?
If Kaede saw anything off in his demeanor as he excused himself to head back to his lab she didn’t show it. This was a conversation best held in private, and certainly nowhere near the subject of discussion.
Not that he was terribly taken aback by his sister’s request, odd as the timing may be. He had already even gotten Kaede’s permission to prepare for this occasion quite some time ago, before even Rantaro died, and seeing his motive video didn’t seem to change her mind so this shouldn’t have been a surprise.
It’s not like he’s tried asking this of any of his other friends he thought would live up to his dear sister’s expectations yet either. Admittedly due in part to most already giving their consent earlier, as he didn’t wish to risk making any suspicious by reaffirming statements likely only said to help ease his worries.
Are you sure? She’s proven more useful than most of the others in the trials we’ve been facing in here. It’d be a shame to fail so close to your goal over losing a mere game such as this.
You’re not questioning me now, are you? Kukuku~ it’s a bit late for your rebellious stage, isn’t it?
Never Sister. I’d be nothing without you. I’m sure between Kaito’s experience and Kokichi’s intuition we’d be able to survive well without her. But should I hold back if someone else makes for a better target first?
As long as she’s the one you’re planning on I suppose it would be fine to also take advantage of a good moment. No point in ignoring someone so eager to meet with me if they unintentionally interrupt us. We wouldn’t want to waste an opportunity like what happened to Miss Yumeno again now would we? I was so looking forward to being able to learn more about her, but since you weren’t involved I can’t find her.
… Right. At least Miu’s death was no such loss for you, even if she could be amusing to me on occasion. But I best make sure current plans are going to schedule. I shan’t keep you waiting for much longer now.
At least that was enough to ease Her spirit’s concerns for now. She was still there of course, still watching over him as she normally does to help ease and guide him, but as a silent observer for the time being. This would just mean she’d be more likely to chime in on any of his other conversations from now on.
Particularly since to make sure everything was going as he’d thought they would he’d be visiting with Kirumi next. He already had a bottle of Cleopatra's Pearl Cocktail he assumed she’d enjoy so she shouldn’t refuse his company if he offered to share some with her in her lab. ( Though with its claim to help make one beautiful I’m inclined to think almost every girl here would be at least a little intrigued. )
She took the bait as expected. She hardly even considered his request to be unusual, so perhaps she thought this was a means of repaying her for her earlier leniency. From a certain point of view that could even be considered true. Her bloodlust gave him a safe window to act on his, so he is genuinely grateful.
Even though she could just as easily turn on you instead? I don’t like this little brother. You could have at least indicated to someone you two would be meeting in case something goes wrong.
I’m far more useful to her alive than dead Sister. If she wants to get away with murder in this place she needs someone to take the fall for her instead. Trying to set Ryoma up as a case of suicide was a boat that has long since sailed and with how I am it’d be easy to believably accuse me of killing anyone.
In an attempt to avoid getting lost in his own thoughts in front of her Korekiyo saw fit to break their comfortable silence. “So how does one such as yourself find any comfort among the student council? Has your sense of obligation towards us outweighed that of your supposed role as Prime Minister now?”
“Not “outweighed” so to speak, but I have made my peace with our situation for now. I do hope we can find a means to leave, despite Angie’s beliefs, but I saw firsthand my previous thoughts on how to do so were...deeply flawed. I merely want to make sure everyone’s lives here are as comfortable and bearable as possible until that time can come. And what about your sister? Aren’t you still worried about her?”
She is an amusing one, isn’t she? She’s even trying to avoid directly lying to you as if you were Oma. What a foolish girl. The inexperience of her youth betrays her no matter how mature she pretends to be.
But her heart’s in the right place. It’s only natural for someone like her to think of people as numbers that she can weigh against each other, as if there can ever be truly acceptable losses in any form of tragedy.
“I too have made my own peace of sorts, but at least I’m still being open about my desire to leave. While I’m here I do still have my lab and a unique set of human experiences to observe to pass the time. But your denial of weight begs the question, how do you value others? There are many ways to view it.”
“I could ask you the same thing then. But for me, if I can’t put the needs of my master first then I seek to aid those who can do the most good for others in general. That is why my initial reaction to certain circumstances was to act as though my own life was worth more than that of the rest of you. My master, our nation, still needed my service and on top of that I saw myself as best equipped to help everyone at risk.”
“So you use the perspective of your society as a whole? That’s rather arrogant of you wouldn’t you say? As “Prime Minister” you could easily argue your life was worth more than many larger groups of people. I value all of humanity, for all of their flaws, too much to accept such a thing. A life is worth one life, no more and most certainly no less, regardless of the actions a person may take or their physical condition. My fieldwork exposes me to too many differing sets of morals and values to try and use anything else, and all remain equal in death I find. All I can do to gauge beyond that is how I personally see a person.”
“I’m not putting myself first for the sake of my own needs so I don’t think “arrogant” is the proper word for it." Kirumi objected with a stern glare before she took another sip to settle herself. "It’s hard to really know how you’ll feel about judging others until you are truly tested I think. All I know is that as a maid it’s my duty to serve my wards as well as I am able. They are my only concern.”
Adorable sentiments if they are true, but I very much doubt that. Just look at how she bristles at the revelation of her hubris rather than taking the moment to self-reflect on it. However I do quite admire her spirit and determination, you’re right about that. Too bad you're having another one of those days where you keep getting under everyone’s skin though Korekiyo. Kukuku~
I'm glad you're enjoying yourself but I don't suppose you'd actually help narrow down if I'm the one too on edge or if it's everyone's nerves that's to blame for this, would you dear sister?
Now, why would I ever do something like that? It's so much more fun to see how your "friends" are when angered, given how much of them we've yet to see.
True, but it might be easier to observe all facets of their beauty if I'm not the target of their ire, yes?
Details, details~
“Responsibility is a virtue I more than understand I assure you, nor am I judging you for how you’ve chosen to best balance what you value the most. There is no shame to be had in expressing some selfishness afterall. And I’d certainly put my sister’s needs or wishes before my own as well, should she need me to. I simply don’t feel she needs me to endanger myself or others to leave this place just yet.”
Indeed, for if we play our cards right you won’t even need to leave to finally finish your promise. Though it will be a shame to lose a girl like Miss Yonaga to Miss Tojo, she would’ve made for a fine friend too.
“You accuse me of arrogance and then claim you aren’t judging me? Isn’t that rather contrary?”
“True. Perhaps it is best to say I am not negatively judging you. All aspects of humanity are beautiful to me, even those conventionally seen as ugly or “wrong”. I see nothing wrong with someone as generally selfless as yourself having flaws such as this. I certainly don't look up to you any less for them, if anything I think they make me admire your work ethic all the more." He assured her, which seemed to catch Kirumi by surprise which was a rare feat. She might have even been blushing a tad, since she turned her head away so her bangs hid most of her face. With a smile and a shug he continued. "Focusing only on one's “good” qualities can never give you a real idea of who they were. Humans are interesting because of their imperfections, not in spite of them. If people were perfect they wouldn’t be as wonderfully unpredictable as they truly are.”
As she faced him again she eyed him with some suspicion. He wasn't sure if it was because she was doubting his intentions with this talk or began thinking his words were hallow, but she didn't let him wonder for long. “I see. And do you see any contradiction in how you speak of “humanity” as if you aren’t a part of it?”
Touche. It is easy to sound like one has something of a God complex like this. Not to mention the irony of preaching the benefits of “unpredictability” to someone we’re relying on accurately predicting for now.
“I’m more often an observer than a participant so I’m inclined think it oft comes with the territory. It’s easy to divorce yourself from others. You have those not under your care, I have my subjects of study.”
She hummed a little at that, as if more in thought than agreement, but his answer satisfied her enough. They returned to drinking in silence for some time before Korekiyo made his leave, giving her what was left of the bottle in gratitude for her conversation and company.
It was nearly nighttime when he got back to his lab, but it wasn’t empty when he arrived. Maki had apparently made herself comfortable near one of many bookshelves, though when she heard him come in she put whichever book she was reading aside. If she wasn’t there to read there isn’t much else she could be looking for but him, given the sort of person she was. This was sure to be interesting.
What is she doing here? Send her away brother, we have no need for her company. We don’t need her lingering this late and interrupting Miss Tojo’s plans like she did last night. Even that delay was vexing.
Sister please, if she has been waiting to speak with me the least I can do for her is hear her out. It must be something unusual for her to come here. She’s far from the social type and we haven’t spoken much.
“Good evening, my apologies if I interrupted you. This is quite the surprise, seeing you here.” Korekiyo began as he offered her a brief bow.
Maki wasn't the sort to be offended by tardiness or mince words though. “You didn’t. I was hoping to talk to you actually.”
Why? Korekiyo I do not like this at all. Why must you keep interacting with such dangerous women?!
I hear you Sister but she’s hardly dangerous. Her talent being exposed puts too much suspicion on her to risk doing anything drastic. If she says she’s here to talk then there’s no reason to doubt her about that.
“Really? I’m sorry to have kept you waiting then. How may I help you? But isn’t it a bit late for this?”
“No, it’s fine. And there’s no point in acting like you actually care about any council’s curfews either. But…” Maki paused as if debating with herself for a moment, fiddling with her collar while in thought. Korekiyo took a seat near her as he waited to see what was on her mind. “... The only reason I’m asking you of all people is because no one would believe you if you breathed a word about any of this. And Ryoma indicted you aren’t as clueless about this sorta stuff as the rest of us mostly are. Got it?”
“Understood, but you do realize Angie’s just down the hall and doesn’t always stay in her lab yes?” Korekiyo reminded her but given her glare was less than appreciated. At least until it softened into a frustrated puffy faced pout as she nearly undid her bow with her fidgeting.
Realizing her mistake with a blush she instead shoved an item in front of his face to try and force things along. A mummified monkey’s paw no less. Awfully fitting considering what Monosuke indicated the results of a resurrection could turn out like. And as Korekiyo gladly took her bribe she found her voice.
“How… do you know when you like someone?” He heard her ask in a hushed tone and time seemed to screech to a halt.
… What ?
This… was not good. There is a reason why “May you live in interesting times” is considered to be meant as a curse, not a blessing.
He could only hope any pause on his part was taken as him thinking of a response to her question rather than dealing with the migraine to come. It was hard to tell where his own feelings ended and his sister’s began when situations got like this. But pain was far from a stranger and hiding it came naturally enough.
See what happens when you don’t listen to me?! Honestly, the nerve of this girl! How dare she ask us something like this. She could ask just about anyone else and no one would ever judge HER for whatever silly crush she’s dealing with! No matter how much blood is on her hands I doubt even the target of her affections would ever look at her with such… DISGUST . Korekiyo if you don’t get rid of her now I WILL.
Calm down Sister, she doesn’t know. And kicking her out for such a trivial mistake would be rather uncalled for, would it not? We don’t need her looking into us. Let’s just try to be more reasonable here-
And what, risk you saying too much again? You were pushing it as it was when you let that boy sidetrack you after you tried giving away that damned key! We both know what would happen to you if they find out, even if we do keep my current condition or my friends under wraps! They’d still look at you that way.
Regardless of how little it concerns them they’d still judge you, mock you, reject you, for this. For us .
Just like everyone else did. It always plays out the same, and these people will be no different Korekiyo.
And if I or the friends you’ve made for me do come to light they may very well try to kill you for it! Even if the blood you’ve shead for my sake couldn’t possibly compare to any of her measly blood money hits, or maybe not even match that of Killer Tennis’ bodycount, they’d see you as the threat. And what then?
I know Sister! I… I’m sorry. For everything you… that WE were put through before. But I can handle this.
“... If Ryoma gave you this impression then you know surely he’d be a better person for you to ask about this yes? As far as I’m concerned matters of the heart are a strictly private issue, not one for discussing.”
“Well I- I don’t know how I feel." She stammered, torn between looking embarassed and angered. "It could be something else. The closest I’ve come to feeling something like this was for a girl I knew back at the orphanage. Ryoma and Kaito tell each other everything so I can’t just ask him about anything…”
Okay. So she doesn’t need any personal information about this from me, just an outsider’s perspective. That… isn’t so bad. I just need to keep her the focus of this and act as an interactive sounding board.
BROTHER?!
Oh come now, can you really tell me you aren’t a little curious about our little assassin developing a crush on the world’s densest space cadet? Don’t forget who was the one bringing you those romance novels you’d ask for when you were ill. I remember what you like. And who knows where this could lead?
That was not the same thing! … But fine. If only to further mess with that awful boy. She suits him.
“So you are conflicted on if this is a crush or more… friendly or familial affections? For our own Kaito?”
The shade of the blush on her face alone was almost worth the literal headache, and heartache, that came with his sister’s frustration. For such a cold killer her range of expressions never ceased to amaze.
“... Something like that.” Maki mumbled, though it looked more like she was talking to her poorly re-tied and battered bow than to Korekiyo with her face still aflame. Red was certainly a color that suited her.
“So not quite? Are you also trying to sort out what you felt for your “friend” back then was too?”
“Maybe. So… How would I know?” It was likely a good thing she was too focused on her own thoughts to notice any of Korekiyo’s discomfort as she redirected things back to him. But there was an easy fix here.
“I couldn’t say. For some friends can be just as important as a lover, and to some others even more so. This is what part of what makes it so personal. How much do you think they mean to you?”
“... I’d be more upset if something happened to Kaito than the rest of you. No offense, but that’s really not saying much in this situation. But I was willing to kill for her. So she wouldn’t be forced to.”
“To be fair willing to kill for his sake here would be suicide at best and detrimental to you both at worst. Is that why you’re suspecting you may have felt more for her than just friendship or surrogate sibling?”
Bad move brother. What exactly are you going to say if she can’t figure out if her feelings for this girl were “sisterly” or “romantic”? And you could stand to be just a littleoffended by her lack of concern.
“A bit. I mean… It wouldn’t be normal to develop feelings in a place like this in such a short amount of time, would it?”
“It’s actually more common for strong bonds to develop quickly in times of great stress so it’s far from unusual. Which is why asking someone like Kibo, Kaede, or even Tenko may be more useful to you here.”
“I think you just mean Kaede, the other two aren’t exactly open-minded about me. And if I did Kaito might find out what I asked her about. Or worse Kokichi. He’s been hanging around her a lot lately.”
That would be a lot of fun. Maybe you should tell Oma anyway? It might make him less wary of you.
Sister no. Living is very much to our benefit at present.
“Fair point. Would it be so bad to just try talking to Kaito about this? He’s brash, but not inconsiderate.”
Korekiyo figured the glower he received was answer enough. So much for simply cutting this Gordian Knot. “No need to give me that look, I am being serious. If he had any existing relationships I’m sure he’d say so by now and he’s not the sort of person to play with a girl’s honest emotions. Would it hurt to try?”
You would know all about that, wouldn’t you little brother? Not always a girl’s honest emotions either. But they are ever so fun to toy with, aren’t they? Especially when something in them finally breaks.
“Fine. I guess I’ll think about it. And if any rumors start floating around before then you’re a dead man.”
“That’s a bit drastic wouldn’t you say? It’s not like you or he have been particularly subtle, as I’m sure you’ve noticed from the way Kokichi has tried teasing you both before. But rest assured, I won’t talk.”
“That would be a change.” Maki deadpanned, smirk naturally falling into place with it’s signature quirk.
Almost sad to consider an adorable if unusual physical feature like that might be part of why she hadn’t been adopted by a normal family when she still had a chance. Vanity could make people be ever so cruel.
“Alright, poor phrasing on my part. But it’s not like I’m one to participate in gossip anyway. Honestly I’d have much preferred going into the story connected to the paw you have so graciously given me than something of this nature. Or even how your work has affected your own views on the concept of death.”
“The one with the three wishes that keep going wrong? I think I’ve heard that one before. I think I’ll stop taking up your time though, just in case Kirumi comes by to check on you again. And… Thank you. It was nice to see Ryoma was right. You aren’t as much of a creepy weirdo as you could be. My words, not his.”
… How is an assassin able to be so blind to our intentions brother? Are you sure she isn’t toying with us?
It’s hardly like I’ve had any actual intent to kill around her. Not like Kirumi has. It makes sense she’d be more on Maki’s radar than I am. If you look suspicious enough sometimes you stop being suspicious.
And other times it just puts you on a fast track to be on a first name basis with the local sheriff. Again.
And yet that familiarity served its purpose, as they were still none the wiser and saw nothing wrong with me leaving town as a result even after her delightful daughter “ran away from home”, did it not?
He couldn’t help but laugh a little at the irony of it all while he gave her a partial bow as she departed. “Kehehe. I’m not sure your assessment, blunt as it was, is truly accurate. But I appreciate your praise, such as it is, all the same and do sincerely wish you the best. I’ll be rooting for you, so take care, Maki.”
He couldn’t really afford to spend too much time here himself though either. Kirumi would be less likely to do anything tonight if there was a chance he was still in earshot, and she already made an excuse if anyone rightly thought he was in bed when her crime was being committed with her Monopad trick.
It was tempting to at least try paying Angie one last visit before he left, but all things considered he thought better of it. Too much evidence against him could make proving Kirumi’s guilt harder if Kaede won’t be there to help anymore. But he could live with his last memory of Angie before her death being one that ended on poorer terms. He’s certainly had worse with all the friends he’s helped his sister make.
Getting back to the dorms was rather uneventful at any rate, but it was a small comfort for him to know that Gonta and Ryoma both made it clear they saw him. Witnesses will be a great boon in proving his innocence if the class turns out to be more inclined to trust Kirumi’s word over his own tomorrow. Gonta even insisted on walking back with him, to help ensure Korekiyo was indeed following the curfew now.
What will he and the others do with their leader gone? Would the cult remain without her guidance, or simply fall apart due to a loss of faith? Who would fill the voids Angie and Kaede would leave behind? Kaito? Kibo? Certainly not Kokichi, the imp’s too fond of implicitly pushing people to do what he wants.
He had ample time to think as he got ready for bed. It might not take as much time to undress and take off his sister’s preferred makeup than it does to put everything on but that wasn’t saying much.
Not to mention donning his sleeping mask and whatnot afterward. Sister was a tad too impatient to be in control when their body needed to rest so that was hardly an optional step for him anymore.
But before he entered his slumber he still had one question he needed to ask her first. And as there was no risk of interruptions they wouldn’t need to be as quiet this time. She did prefer to speak for herself.
“Sister, do you suppose voting for Kirumi tomorrow would be enough involvement for her spirit to reach you? I know indirect killings are far less reliable, but it could still work could it not?”
It wasn’t really his hand that reached to pull his mask down anymore, as odd a sensation as it was to lose control of his own body. Though it wasn’t “lost” as much as it was freely given. She didn’t even need to remove his mask to take full control, but it helped make it easier to avoid acting unusually around others.
It was more a ritual with a symbolic restraint they shared than an actual necessity for their symbiosis. Fitting considering its unconventional design, serving as a “fetish” for them in more ways than one.
She used the closest she could manage to her own voice as she answered him. “ How should I know little brother? The only chance we had to really test this was during that first execution, and you had voted for Miss Akamatsu rather than risk introducing me to a boy like Saihara by mistake back then did you not? ”
“Right, of course. But it would be nice to be able to make you two friends tomorrow instead of just one. Then we’d only need one more. Would you rather it be Tenko or Tsumugi? It won’t matter if I’m caught.”
“ Curb your impatience Korekiyo. It makes me happy to see you’re still thinking ahead, but do be careful. Over-eagerness can easily lead to one’s undoing so we mustn’t get too greedy just yet. We can’t let our emotions hasten your judgements and risk making a fatal error this close to our goal. First, we see how things will go. Then I’ll consider our options. Just focus on getting some rest for now, my sweet Korekiyo. ”
“Right, of course. My apologies. Goodnight Sister.”
He felt her response more than heard it as a hand reached to grip his shoulder while the other went around his waist. The closest either of them could get to anything resembling an embrace anymore.
Korekiyo ignored any sense of loneliness the gesture gave him in favor of basking in its intent. He should be used to this by now. And there’s nothing unusual about his pleasures having some pain intertwined.
It’s just a shame not all pains are of a sort I can find pleasure in. But it won’t be for much longer now.
The next day he had nearly finished getting ready for the day when something began pounding on his door. Odd as he hadn’t even heard the morning announcement begin yet, much less the one that signified a body discovery. Things were made odder still as it was Kaito he found on the other side looking ragged, like a man at the end of his rope, rather than a furious Tenko out for his blood.
“Did you have anything to do with this?!”
“... That depends what “this” would be. I’d offer you a good morning but it’s a bit late for that now yes? Did something happen that I should be aware of?” His answer gave Kaito some comfort as he calmed down a bit. Not the announcement choosing that particular moment to come to life helped that any.
Korekiyo really should have tried standing further away from his room’s monitor since he knew this should be coming. Or done something to help brace for how loud its parody of a school chime would be. He did so loathe loud noises like this, almost as much as he hated being bound to one place for too long.
“Okay, so you really didn’t know? That… That’s good at least. It’s in your lab, come on.”
Kaito obviously wasn’t in the mood for much talking so Korekiyo was content to merely follow his lead rather than ask questions. There wasn’t too much he felt he needed to really ask yet anyway.
Not until he saw a familiar head of silver hair in the hallway outside of his lab. Still happily bobbing along as per the usual for her, talking to Tenko standing beside her. At least Tenko hadn’t lost another friend.
Kukuku, I guess Miss Tojo wasn’t as predictable as you thought? This is good though, we haven’t lost my chance to be friends with her just yet. But whose body will we find now I wonder? Did she go for Hoshi after all?
This would explain Kaito’s current state. Or at least his response further narrowed down their options. But it wasn’t Ryoma’s body he found on the floor of his lab, lying there broken and bloody.
It was Maki’s.
It made sense Korekiyo supposed, even if the possibility slipped his mind before.
If Ryoma’s crimes helped ease any issues Kirumi could have with killing one of her citizens then so would Maki’s current profession. And if Kirumi was caught she could argue she acted for the good of the group.
But that doesn’t make this hurt any less does it? I told you, you should raise your standards little brother. Having friends like her would obviously only lead to pain or disappointment for you. They always do.
Never. This is... Bearable. And it's well worth the time spent with her. The same applies for everyone else here. Observing them all has been both informative and for the most part enjoyable, even with these... risks.
He could hardly even tell where the red of the blood ended and that of her clothing began anymore. He’d swear parts of the blood nearly looked pink against her crimson if he wasn’t looking directly at it. Seeing the mask sloppily laid over her face didn’t help either. Particularly given whose it really was.
But he knew better than to let any discomfort show. There was no need for it and it wouldn’t help.
All he needed to do was make sure her death wasn’t a waste.
Korekiyo looked over to where Kaede and Kirumi were talking as he weighed his options one last time.
Maki may have never been admirable enough to be one of Sister’s friends but at least he could make sure her killer would soon be joining her. And his dearest sister was still in dire need of some company.

Tenko and Angie's misadventures while trying to convince Himiko that she is in fact gay for Tenko. (ft. Himiko not being sure what the hell is happening)
A/N: You had me at gay for Tenko
(Not So) Obliviously in Love - TenkoxHimiko ft wingwoman Angie
Himiko is definitely gay for Tenko, that is a universal truth.
Now if only Himiko knew that.
“Atua says this calls for a divine intervention!” Angie finally calls her out one day after too many days of the latter ignoring the important and obvious fact.
As much as Angie loves Himiko, she knows that it’s Tenko who is in love with Himiko. Everyone knows in fact. Angie also knows another fact and it’s that Himiko is also in love with Tenko. Except Himiko hasn’t quite embraced that yet and really, Angie is growing impatient.
“Himiko-chan, Atua wants to talk to you about Tenko-chan~” Angie starts off lightly so as not to scare her away.
“Hmmm, why me? That sounds like a pain…” Himiko doesn’t even try to hide her disinterest. She would have walked away too if only walking wasn’t such a hassle. So she settles for negotiations instead. “Shouldn’t you be talking to Tenko instead?”
“Silly Himiko-chan!” Angie tuts her. “It’s one of those talks where Tenko-chan cannot know about! You know, those kinds!”
“Oh…” Himiko blinks owlishly and then she squints. “So you’re like… fishing for information?”
“Sort of!” Angie vaguely agrees. Her goal is more like gentle persuasion but Himiko didn’t have to know that… yet. Angie moves the conversation along, “See, you’ve been plenty helpful already! Now Atua just has a few questions left.”
“I don’t really get why your god would want this information,” Himiko considers putting an effort into figuring out why but ultimately settles with the most obvious reason. She looks at Angie warily, gauging her. “…Are you trying to hit on Tenko?”
“Nyahaha! There’s no need to be mad at Angie! Angie’s heart already belongs to Atua!” But Himiko still glares at her. It was cute if only Angie wasn’t the recipient of such an unexpectedly strong glare. “Angie apologizes for making Himiko-chan jealous even though she is a cutie pie.”
With unusual speed, Himiko’s hand flies to the brim of her hat and pulls it down on her face. But not even her miraculous speed was fast enough to cover her cheeks before a blush blossomed. “It’s not like I’m… jealous or anything.”
“It’s not good to lie to Atua, ya know.” Angie laughs heartily.
“Hnnnngh…” Himiko tugs down harder and just mumbles from underneath, “Whatever… What were you going to ask about anyways?”
Really, Angie wants to tease her more but she’s getting sidetracked from her true goal. “Weeeeell, Atua just wants to know what’s up with our dear martial artist. Like her interests and other things! You wouldn’t happen to know what she’s into, right?”
Himiko stares at her long and hard, thinking. “Are you sure you aren’t going to try to hit on Tenko?” She gives her a scrutinizing look from underneath her hat. “Could it be… you swing that way?”
“Angie likes to swing a lot!” She humors her. It’s not really an answer but this isn’t supposed to be about her anyways. So before Himiko could ask her again on that, Angie shoots back the question. “But Angie wants to know how Himiko-chan swings, hm?”
There’s an awkward silence where Himiko looks away. Her voice was so soft that it was hard to tell what emotions she was feeling as she spoke, “…I thought we were talking about Tenko?”
“We are! We totally are!” Angie thinks that maybe that was too blunt for Himiko. So she thinks it would be better to try subtle this time. Right, nice and subtle.
“So how does Himiko-chan feel about Tenko-chan?”
Very subtle. Atua is pleased.
“Huh?” It was just so subtle that it takes Himiko by surprise. Her grip on her hat slackens and so does her jaw. She’s staring at Angie and there’s still traces of a blush dusted on her cheeks. And although Angie was aiming for an epiphany, Himiko actually looks more confused than ever. “Wait… is this what this is all about?”
“Hmmmmmm? Is what what about what?” Angie skips and dodges the question. “Anyways! Atua has spoken and is now willing to listen!”
“Nnnnngghhh…” Himiko pouts and is ready to protest when a third opinion barges in.
“Himiko-san!”
Tenko yells with a smile— always with a smile whenever it’s Himiko.
She jogs up to them and it’s only up close does she notice the other person. “Oh, hello there, Angie-san.”
“Nyahello, Tenko!” Angie happily waves at her.
With polite greetings over, Tenko immediately shifts her attention to Himiko. “Tenko has been looking everywhere for you. I was worried because it’s been half an hour past the time you said you would be in your lab.”
“Is it that time already?” Himiko asks, honestly surprised. “Sorry… I was talking to Angie.”
“It is alright. Tenko is just glad to see you okay.” She genuinely looks relieved, well it’s not like Tenko is capable of anything but brutal honesty.
It’s only in the quiet does Himiko hear how Tenko’s just a little bit out of breath. She notices how her skin glistens with sweat and how her hair is slightly unkempt. She sees how Tenko is more tired than she is letting on.
“You…” Himiko gives her a stern glare, less angry but more concerned. “Did you run around the campus just to find me?”
“Oh! Well, Tenko was just worried! And I have lots of energy so…” She looks away, ashamed at being caught, as if it was something to be ashamed of. “But it’s okay! Tenko is okay! I needed the exercise anyways!” She adds and although there might be some truth to that, Himiko can’t help but feel guilty.
Himiko chances a glance at Angie who unsurprisingly was just watching the whole exchange. Angie gives her an innocent looking smile although given her intentions, it was anything but. Himiko shuffles her feet awkwardly, indecisive. But when she looks at Tenko instead, at Tenko who looks at her as if she was the best thing to ever happen in this world, Himiko makes her decision.
It’s always a pain to stand on her toes to do this but she supposes that she wouldn’t mind this every now and then.
“There. I cast a recovery spell on you,” Himiko mutters after the kiss.
“…!”
While waiting for Tenko to recover, she goes over the other person with them. “Angie, tell Atua that… they don’t need to worry, mmkay?”
Angie’s smile was definitely not innocent but it was just as celebratory. “Nyohoho! Atua gives you his blessing!”
“Thank you.” Himiko lets herself smile softly at this. She goes back to Tenko who is still frozen in shock. At least for this next one she doesn’t have to tiptoe. “Tenko… you’re hand looks heavy. I’ll cast a weightlessness spell on it.” She smoothly holds her hand.
Himiko is definitely gay for Tenko, that is a universal truth.
And Himiko knew all along.

@imxaxmage said:  ⚖ - Opinions on the fandom your muse belong to? (DRV3 & Until Dawn)
Honestly, Imma answer this for both because honestly my opinions for any fandom seem to always coalesce. For the most part, I really love and appreciate and enjoy how intensely the fandoms I invest in in turn invest in the shows and characters. Tumblr wouldn't exist if not for people to fangasm about all their favorite shit. And everyone who engages in those labors of love from fanart to fan animations to fanfiction to memes and memelists, the RPC, cosplayers, EVERYTHING -- Is just truly mindblowing and heartwarming. That being said... I do wish people would be more open minded to differing opinions and try to keep a balanced perspective on characters. Especially when it comes to characters they like versus characters they don't. Cause I do feel, well, humanity in general, is strongly biased by looks. Or they assume that because a character doesn't wear their heart on their sleeve and reach out or seek attention that they don't care/have feelings/struggle. And it's just frustrating.
I was watching an LP of Danganronpa and the LPer said that Angie deserved to die because she was "too positive" and "not taking anything seriously" and that was in Chapter 1 before anyone even died. He didn't give her a chance to reach Chapter 3 where she legit takes so many actions to try and end the killing game and it becomes apparent that Atua is a major coping mechanism for her and the entire council -- Especially Himiko. But then, yeah, Kiyo murders nearly 100 innocent women and he's a poor innocent boy that got abused by his sister. Which I've not been able to find evidence that it's even hard canon that either him or his sister abused each other. It's just headcanons based on Kiyo's tulpa and the stories of how Kiyo got his tulpa don't even match up. (He claims she came to him in a seance, but the game itself says she manifested while he was being tortured. I imagine the truth is in between those two, and he performed the seance to convince himself that his split personality/tulpa was actually his sister.)
And it's like. It's fine to like characters like that. And to dislike characters like Angie. But it'd be nice to have that be based on equal perspective. I like Mukuro, Kyosuke, Junko, Jack, Mikan and plenty of messed up characters. But I don't try and justify or excuse their behaviours because they still exist and should be recognized as character flaws that those characters need to responsibility for. Not have them excuses and forgiven. Hell, I don't excuse Angie blaming Himiko for Ryoma's murder. And yeah, her actions, good intentions or otherwise, born of abuse or otherwise, whether she has a severe case of God-fearing or God-complex or feeling like a Prophet. Are questionable and take the choice away from other people. (It's why Kaito, Tenko, Maki and Shuichi oppose her.) Anyway, I'm rambling.
I guess the Tl;dr is: I love all fandoms, especially the ones that truly care and deeply analyse their shows/things/characters. But I also feel like human nature invites bias that I wish more people could look beyond to place themselves not just in the shoes of the people they like, but also in the shoes of the people they don't like. Because unless you do that, it becomes hard to fairly judge every character. You miss things. Or don't let yourself hear them. Hell, I was watching Persona 5 Strikers and Futaba, a character I don't particularly care for personality-wise, said something about being unable to sleep in the camper van because she didn't have her usual pillow. My initial reaction was to just not pay attention and jokingly tell her to shut up. But then I stopped to think about that line and the implications, and that line alone gave me at least SOMETHING to appreciate in Futaba. She has obsessive compulsive tendencies. Same when she froze up in public.
I appreciated the game more, and her character a little more, to see how well they delivered on her social anxiety after spending so long hermiting in her room, struggling with PTSD. Granted, I still don't like her. Especially the way she seems to trivialize the trauma, obsessive compulsive behaviours and special interests of others. But I wouldn't even appreciate what I do appreciate of her character if I just shut her down/ignored her based on past judgments. I just don't think it costs anything to keep an open myself and place yourself in their shoes and keep hoping for the best for characters. Maybe that's why Kaito is one of my favorite characters in DRV3. Maybe that's why Tenko and Himiko initially resonated so much. Maybe that's why I like Ryoma, too. And maybe that's why I like Persona IN GENERAL. Because I really do like to see the best in people.
Oh, and don't wish harm upon characters in any meaningful way just because you don't like their personality. Sure, if they're genuinely god-awful criminals, I'd get it. In The Vampire Diaries, I find the actions of characters like Stefan, Damon, Klaus, Katherine, Hayley, and even Tyler, Jeremy and Elena to be very morally fucked up. Those first five moreso than the last three. And I truly believe that a lot of their actions; which for Damon and Katherine include rape and murder and Klaus and Tyler include attempted rape (and murder and brainwashing and a shit tonne of familial abuse and gaslighting for Klaus) and Elena and Jeremy essentially committing a mass genocide on thousands of vampires. They really do highlight how fucked up the vampire's mentality is and explains why characters like Matt Donovan want RID of them from Mystic Falls. (Especially because Matt's sister died because of them.) But to say someone should die because they're too bitchy or too cheery really does disturb me.
Characters like Hiyoko and Angie and Himiko don't deserve to die JUST BECAUSE of how they carry themselves. If you don't like the way they carry themselves. FINE. I don't wish death upon Futaba, either. Hell, I don't even wish death upon characters like Miu, Saiyaka or Kirumi in DRV3, though I disagree with their moral values and motives. I even RP Miu lmao. Note: I also wouldn't wish DEATH upon Tyler, Eleanor and Jeremy based on what I've seen so far. (I'm rewatching the series from scratch for like the fifth time.) And maybe not Hayley, either. And I don't believe the rest of them deserve to be harmed for their personalities. It's the actions and lack of responsibility they take within their own character arcs. It's fine to be jaded and problematic and bitchy and cruel and a fucking asshole to an EXTENT. But only if you're actually trying to improve.  We're all human. Mistakes happen. We all hit rock bottom eventually. I just... I don't know... I wish there was less bias and judgment and more open minds and fair perspectives given to all characters in any given fandom.
. . . . .
(So much for that Tl;dr)
