Your Joy Ang style drawings look amazing! Do you have any advice for mimicking it?
HOW TO JOY ANG STYLE
Hi there! Yes I have. I will advice everyone, who want co mimic Joy's style, firstly to watch her speedpaints on her youtube channel. ( https://www.youtube.com/@JoyAng ) And watch her other arts, at her site - http://joyang.ca/artwork/ You will need to analyze how she works.
Earlier I didn't get it right away because I didn't quite understand it, but now I know some things:
1. Joy Ang makes a rough sketch of the entire drawing, and then colors it
2. Joy Ang first draws the works with a line, sometimes even on paper
Added my Kinkajou without color to the block
3. Then she creates a base layer under the line
4. Then (not always, but as I understood in most cases) merges the fill and line layer into one and begins to work with color and shades, pipetting the colors from the sketch (I'm saving the layers with the line just in case something goes wrong) Use the "transparency lock" to stay within the bounds of the fill !!!
5. For dragons with lots of scales, like Kinkajou, personally, I first work with the color under the line and only then merge to make light on the scales, otherwise I will smear them all
6. Joy paints with STROKES, very very small strokes, which may make it a little difficult to work, but then the work will be more like Joy Take a closer look!
7. Joy often, but not every time, draws a very contrast line of light next to the contour in her work
8. Her line is not smooth! It's textured!
9. The backgrounds in her works are a great example of working with contrast. Almost all of Joy's backgrounds are very light, sometimes almost white against the background of the characters. This is in order to highlight the character and focus attention on them.
10. Very important! Joy sometimes neglects anatomy in order to create an eye-pleasing picture, here's an example - flowing lines in her drawings, yes, dragons do not have a pelvis, but their body turns very beautifully and smoothly twists. I would compare this to animation, where the characters also usually have smooth, pleasant features.
Bad for anatomy, but great for stylysation!
11. And I think it should be said that her work is full of color, so don't limit yourself to "white and black" by painting light and shadow.
So.. That's it! You will need practice to completely repeat the style, try to study Joy Ang's work yourself, and make some small drawings first to get used to the style, good luck!

Let's talk cover art!
Firstly, here is the first official look at the full jacket for my new book!
Camp Daze has had a really wandering path to publication, which I'll talk more about later, but back when I still didn't know what I wanted to do with it exactly, I got this crystal clear image of what I wanted the cover to look like. So I created that cover, just the front cover at the time, as more of a portfolio piece than anything. But even though it was meant to just be a portfolio piece, I loved it so damn much, and it stuck in my head hard. When I did finally decide to self publish the book, I knew I had to use this cover.
Usually, I go through a lot more iterations for my covers when it comes time to finally publish things, but this one has just stuck with me over the years as I tried to bring this novel out into the world. Back in 2023 some of you may remember I tested another cover featuring two of the main characters, and did some tumblr polls to see what people liked most, and the tent cover won by a LANDSLIDE each time. (That other cover, or the art from it anyway, will still be available other ways! Just not as THE cover for the book.)
I think the very stark, simplistic nature of the cover fits the themes of the book really well. It's do or die and all they've got is the resources in their camp--represented by the tent, the resources of the wilderness--represented by the mountains/forest, and the looming/hovering threat of a nuclear war that they don't actually know that much about. When it came time to create the full wraparound version of the cover, I added in a little archery target on the back cover because archery plays a major roll in their survival as well.
Colors wise, everything was built around the green tents. The tents are based off of the ones at my own childhood summer camp, and they play a big roll in how the camp manages to create better shelter for themselves. I think found a purple that worked well with the green because, well, they're in Colorado and "purple mountains majesty" and all that. Then it was just filling in other areas with colors that fit within the scheme. I kept everything a little more muted mostly because I just like more muted color schemes.
For the back cover I picked a few lines from the book that, I think, capture the overall vibe of the book which is "if we try, we MIGHT die, but if we DON'T try then we WILL die, so we may as well try."
And shoutout to @gallusrostromegalus for helping me write a new author bio while I was flailing around in the discord chat having a minor identity crisis, lol. The new bio kicks ass, even in this shortened version.
Something that is very important to me is to make sure cover artists are always credited, so I do have a credit for that under my author bio even though my cover artist is also, ya know, me. Just trying to set precedent so more people will start doing things like that.
So yeah! That's how this cover came together. I think it's one of my favorite covers I've ever done.
You can back the Kickstarter here to get your own special edition copy of this book!

Sometimes your fanfic best friend gives you a shout out in an anon ask reply, and then you get excited and make your quickest Five fanart and first-time sort of animation based on a pairing she mentioned and that you wrote years ago. 😄
Link to Bad Kitty's ask
Link to my other art and stories on Tumblr
Link to my long read/3-part Five Centric TUA story with Five paired with a character similar to the one above (and yes-she has Harley Quinn vibes but don't worry if you don't like her-she is not her, I just borrowed some of her wild and fun and qualities. 😉)
------
Updated note added late 6/28/24 after a continuous thread of harassing comments from one user that now has been blocked. No this is not 'AI' made or traced like that person repeatedly said it was. I did not steal someone else's art like they accused me of with no back up other than ripping me apart with more mean comments about what looks so bad about this. They also said my other art posts are 'AI,' and that I have no drawing skill or understanding of how clothes fold.
The AI accusation is a very mean thing to say and it's happening to so many people on here and in the actual profession art world. I do agree that I am not great at art or writing but that doesn't mean I am using AI and claiming it's mine. It's very sad that people feel the need to attack art in this way when it's clearly not even good like mine.
This picture/animation was done with me doing a very bad, very fast sketch, and then hardly correcting my lines before I quickly color filled the drawing that I MADE based off the fact that I have drawn Five in a suit more times than I can count and I have basic drawing skills, not great skills but basic. The reason the hard lines are both gray and black in some spots is because I went in after to correct stuff like gaps that needed to be filled for color filling and I did that in a different layer with black rather than the gray I used the first time. It's an error but one I was aware of but didn't care about because this was supposed to be fast and messy.
So yeah... this is NOT TRACED, and from what it was supposedly traced or 'stollen' from, I have no idea what this user thought that was because they never backed that up with some image that they seem so sure I used. This was based on Five with one of my original characters, so that image they claim I stole didn't exist until I made it.
I'm just trying to have fun with my friends on here while learning to draw better digitally. I am not an artist, and I definitely don't get paid or try to make people support me.
To those like the user who did this, please just chill with the mean comments and be kind to art makers on here and writers and all content posters. If you don't like something ignore it or keep your negativity inside instead of spreading hateful intentions and saying things that are not true about people and their work or their ideas.
Sorry to go off about that on here when it was just supposed to be silly and fun, but this stuff isn't okay and needs to be shut down. I am not always going to post 'proof' pictures of my works in process. I have done that before, but it's not what this is about for me, so I don't even think to do it normally. I have other art posts on AO3 with hand drawn stuff so I figure I don't need to prove I can draw. If someone wants proof, it isn't hard to find it through my posts.
I know most people are only here just for the fun stuff and let's have more of that. ❤️ Peace and love to you all.

Questions from Interest Check
Hello all! Thanks for all of your interest, and thank you for filling out the Interest Check! We still have quite a bit left until the Interest Check closes, but I figured I would answer a few Interest Check/Ask Box questions now, and answer the rest closer to the end of the Interest Check:
Is traditional art accepted in this exchange? Do art gifts require a specific resolution/file quality/etc?
Yes, traditional art is accepted! Traditional art must be shared via a high-quality scan and/or photograph. We do not have any specific resolution requirements, but as long as it meets the standards of art submissions (Minimum: Colored Sketch Maximum: Colored Full Piece (w/ background)) then it should be fine. During the event, we will have two check-ins, and if anyone has any questions about image quality, etc, you can absolutely reach out to me with any pictures they may have of your work!
Would AUs be allowed? if so, how would it work when submitting the form? For example, If I had an AU I wanted artwork of, would I have to explain what the basis of it was & offer artwork references of the designs if there were any? I would expect including AUs would really complicate things & it wouldn't be allowed for that reason, but I felt it was worth asking anyways
Personally, I think having AUs might be an interesting way to do this years gift exchange. Last year we had a lot of OCs set in the Layton universe, and I think it might be an interesting way to change it up with allowing AUs (We didn't necessarily NOT allow AUs last year, it just didn't come up.) This year, we will have several prompt lines that people can post one prompt each in, and a requirement will be all submissions have to have at least one base canon Layton prompt (which can include ships), just because that will make it infinitely easier to pair people up. If someone were to submit an AU, it would require some sort of pdf or drive file that anyone can access where people can see the jist of the AU with any relevant images. It will also require a short blurb about the AU (that is easy to read- please don't send an essay) with what it's about, and then (if the prompter would like) prompts alongside that. Again, I'm quickly mentioning that the prompter will be required to have an non-AU prompt, just given that it will be hard to pair people up with people who do/ do not want to draw Professor Layton AUs, but I do think its an interesting idea! People who submit AUs will not have a guarantee that their AU will be drawn, but it will certainly be an option that the person who is drawing the gift can take if they want.
If I chose "Crossover Pieces" in 4th question, will I have an opportunity to draw someone's PL OCs too (For example PLvsPW and PL OC/s in it)?
Probably? It really depends where the interest check lands, but right now it's a 50/50 about whether people would like to do just base canon Layton art or include Layton OCs. As mentioned above, I personally think it would be really interesting to do a gift exchange that allows AUs and OCs; however, it will be infinitely more difficult to organize. It really depends on how many people are planning on joining the gift exchange!
No, but we will require at least 2 social medias (which CAN include email) to take part! This is in case we need to contact you via other means. The social medias that will be included will include Twitter, Tumblr, Discord, and Email. The reason for the limit with social media is just to make it a lot manageable for us to pair people together, especially given that we are hosting this on Twitter/Tumblr mainly, and people usually enjoy being able to actually give their gift to their own Secret Buddy (which would require people only on tumblr to be paired with people either only on tumblr or both on tumblr/twitter, etc).
Lastly, I'm going to preface that we will try our hardest with pairing everyone up with the best person possible! Doing so is, of course, a bit difficult given that we primarily will not be pairing spoiler characters/games with people who have not played that game, but we will try our best. We're very excited to see what people create- we had a blast last year with hosting this on Twitter, and we're very excited to host it again!
---
Some smaller updates: We now have a little blurb talking about what a gift exchange/secret santa is on the website! Feel free to check that out if you would like to know what this event is.
We've also set up the Gift Exchange 2024 role on our PLGiftExchange Discord Channel! Please join us here!
Any new questions submitted will be added in a reblog from this post within the next couple days!

I see you very much as an expert on all things Rohirrim, so I bring to you this question, hoping I can pick your brain for info to use in my own fics (full disclosure). 😅
It seems to be a popular fanon that the Rohirrim/Riders of Rohan have tattoos, and that body art is a part of their culture. Do you have any thoughts or personal HCs about this that you're willing to share?
Thank you in advance! I appreciate you and your blog so much (if you didn't already know that).
Oh my goodness!!! I am so very honored to be thought of as a person who is knowledgeable about my beloved Rohirrim, and I hope very much that I can live up to that reputation. Thank you!!!
I’m not aware of any real textual evidence for body art among the Rohirrim, and the historical record in the medieval Anglo Saxon and Norse societies that Tolkien used as a reference for them seems to be disputed. But I absolutely understand and agree with the conventional wisdom that tattoos are a thing in Rohan. It just fits well with a warrior culture that has a wilder, dare-I-say more pagan aesthetic as compared to the smooth solemnity of Gondor or the formal elegance of the elves. And since they’re a culture that doesn’t document things in written words, pictorial representations such as tattoos and body art would be one way to fill that gap (along with their songs and oral traditions).
In my mind, tattoos in Rohan are common but basic—they’ve really only got the technology for the “stick and poke” method so the designs are kept simple because anything too elaborate is difficult to pull off well. They’re mostly in black line (using soot) but some have color using powder made from grinding up certain dried roots and plants.
Each village/community has its own distinctive tattoo motif that is worn by all of that community’s members. So you can tell just by looking at someone whether they’re from Upbourn (a fish because it’s a river town) or Dunharrow (mountain peaks since they’re in the White Mountains) or Everholt (a boar in honor of the wild boar that live in this part of the Firien Wood), etc. And soldiers also tend to share tattoo designs specific to their éored—getting your éored’s mark is a formal rite of passage for the younger members when they first get assigned to their company. These shared tattoo designs are important both for group cohesion and as a means of identifying fallen Rohirrim even if the deceased isn’t known to whoever finds the body.
Beyond these ritualized and practical functions, I do also like to think that there are some purely decorative tattoos among them as a means of personal expression and/or to help cover small scars that so many Rohirrim have from battle, riding accidents or other mishaps. Obviously horse-based designs would be very popular, as well as other flora and fauna of Rohan. But they’re a very sentimental people and so I think little emotional signifiers would also be very common (again, especially because they generally don’t have a means to pay tribute to beloved people/things in written form, this sort of symbol would serve the purpose of making some kind of record of those tributes).
In terms of specific people in my head canon: Éomer has a little simbelmynë blossom for each of the major figures in his life that he’s lost (forearm). Háma had a sun to remind him of his wife, who brought warmth and light to his life (shoulder). Théodred had stars in the shape of a particular constellation that is visible every year on his mother’s birthday (chest). Éowyn has a representation of her father’s sword (left wrist) and gets a quill (right wrist) to represent Faramir after they get married. (Faramir got a little running horse in her honor on his first trip to Rohan. He was glad he did it, but he never wants to sit through that again.)
Merry brought tattooing back to the Shire when he showed up with a tobacco pipe on his bicep (both for its association with Buckland and in tribute to Théoden, whose last words to Merry were about smoking together someday when peace was restored). Unsurprisingly, tattoos did not catch on with the other hobbits, but Merry remains very proud of it.
Anywayyyy…I hope that was in any way helpful! Thanks so much for asking!! I remain a huge fan and am so grateful to you for helping convince me to put some of my thoughts and stories out there vs keeping them all in the confines of my own Google drive!

short tutorial on how I've recently been approaching lineless interior illustrations like these
small disclaimer: I am not a professional, this is just what's been working recently for me. this thread is aimed towards digital artists who understand the fundamentals behind perspective, but don't know how to practically use that information
step 1: look up your art program of choice's support for perspective ruler tools. if your program doesn't support these tools (cough, cough, photoshop), I would recommend downloading krita and giving their perspective tools a try. this will make life much easier
programs that have perspective rulers should also have a "snap to ruler" option somewhere that will make all of your brush strokes move in straight lines across a 3D grid. I turn this on, but for details and curves, you may want to turn it off
step 2: once I have an idea for how I want things to look, I start laying down lines to figure out 3D form and composition. the more iterations you do at this step to make your lines clean and precise, the less of a headache you'll have in later steps
step 3: fill in base colors using the polygonal lasso tool. make sure to separate every shape onto its own layer. in the first piece, I made a separate layer for every wall, the bed frame, the mattress, etc. go ahead and hide the lines, but look out for jank where edges meet
step 4: using clipping masks on the layers from step 3, build up texture and ambient occlusion (the space where two planes meet should be darker than the rest of the planes) while considering your light source, start to paint in hard and soft shadows
for brevity I won't delve into what kinds of shadows are appropriate in what contexts, but at least in digital art I find softening hard shadows to be easier than hardening soft shadows, so I would try those first if you're ever not sure
step 5: at this point, you can go where your heart takes you and start painting in details. personally, I like to apply some strange and interesting textures at this point to unify the image. this helps me get out of the "every plane is a separate object" mindset
step 6: start painting! I usually like to continue pushing the lighting at this stage using a soft brush and blend modes. paint in details and objects that have irregular shapes
for wall decorations like posters and windows, I recommend looking into photoshop's "smart objects" feature (or whatever the equivalent is in your program.) these allow you to place a flat painting in 3D space while still allowing you to edit the flat painting
and that's all! I hope this tutorial might have inspired someone to try out painting an indoor space, I know I put them off for a while because I didn't know where to start
if you have any questions, please send them my way :)

Too far away
Fandom: Team Fortress 2
Pairing: Heavy/Medic; Red Oktoberfest
(Authour here, just want to let you know that this will have two parts and I have decided to put more spaces between each paragraphs)
•~•~•~•
"You're so down to Earth
And I'm up in the Stars
Show me the Sea
And I'll take you to Mars"
This is close to a metaphor, with one being off in the stars, and one down in Earth's atmosphere. In this case, however, maybe it doesn't need to be earth and space.
One's burned into the blacklist, and one's fate has yet to be decided. However far apart their realms might be, one will crawl through deserts with snakes to be with someone who's too out of reach.
•~•~•~•
"Ludwig, what do you think you're doing?" The devil couldn't handle seeing the doctor play fool for any longer. He had stood there for an hour or so, and the doctor couldn't even acknowledge him being there.
Ludwig, an angel who fell from Heaven in its early stages of existence, doesn't seem to fear The Devil as much as he should.
"Hm?" The doctor hummed in response and turned around, smoothing out his hair with his free hand. Though Ludwig knows his presumed boss is talking to him, the German doesn't bother looking at him directly.
The laboratory was squeaky clean as usual, with the exceptions of his work desk and the current subject being gagged on his operating table. Hell doesn't provide too much for its employees or workers, just enough for them to get work done efficiently. But Ludwig was an exception from this. Up to date equipments and technologies lined the walls of his lab and has presented itself several time throughout his procedures. Satan nearly exhausted most of his power just for a living human to enter Hell for Ludwig's experiment.
Ludwig's appearance was quite different from the rest of the demons who resonated in Hell. It's common knowledge that one's appearance can be changed and altered in a way they like, so it's not rare to see the many different varietion of demons from the same Ring. Though, in some rarer cases, a demon managed to retain some of its angelic features from before the fall. Ludwig was one of the many that had kept one or two of his old features.
His appearance is based on his most commited sin or which Ring he belonged to, similar to everyone else. He had black hair that was greying on the side to depict his age and time spent in Hell, blue eyes that used to be comforting now filled with malicious intentions were hidden behind round glasses. His skin was peppered with golden flakes, going from the side of his face down to his heel. This was not the only angelic feature that managed to survive the fall. Wings that he often kept hidden were burned badly during the fall, some feathers now dark in color but some stayed white. He could barely use them, but cutting them off won't be of any use.
Many assumed that Ludwig was an angel who had possession of impressive intellect that God created and decided to gift him those golden flakes. The real truth, however, was that he held an angel from that department captive when he got the chance and experimented on them. During the procedure, he removed the feature that distinguished them from the others and implanted it into himself. Unfortunately, due to the use of Hell Fire, the angel died and that's when he started his way to Hell at a fast pace. He spent only a few decades in Heaven before he was casted down.
Disciplined badly with burning hot iron and holy whips, Ludwig was casted down to Hell with disapproving looks and digusted faces from the angels he once was close with.
Throughout his time in Hell, Ludwig had adopted a German accent which didn't take long to get used to. In addition to that, he also studied medicine and German during his free time. He mastered the art of medicine within a few decades and had completely adapted to the German accent and language.
He didn't belong to a specific Ring which is a rare occurrence and only some of the unfortunate demons would get into this situation. Satan took him in as one of his many assistance in the Wrath Ring. Though, some demons often see Ludwig going off to the Pride or Lust Ring but they never bothered telling Satan. On one occasion, he gone to the Sloth Ring and didn't return until a month later. When Satan asked about it, Ludwig claimed to have gone there to 'take a break'.
"I'm asking about your 'subject' on the table." Satan stated plainly, a sharp finger pointing at the gagged demon on the table. Its eyes were blood shot, a stitch here and there all over its body. The line of dried tears remained visible despite the hours that went by.
Ludwig looked at the operating table, then at Satan, and back to the table. A small smile spread on his lips as he closed his eyes and gently shrugged.
"Just wanted to run some experiments to find a vay to prevent Holy Water from harming us too severely." His voice was chipper and there was a spring in his step when he went over to his desk and picked up his clipboard, noting down his findings.
Satan sighed audibly and rubbed his temple. Ludwig had been a pain in his ass ever since he managed to convince him to provide funding for these experiments.
Though, that's the only thing he's here for.
Ever since that one time Satan got a living man down to Hell, Ludwig had grew an unhealthy obsession with human beings - similar to his already unhealthy obsession with birds, especially pigeons and doves. That man died within a month because of the various painful tests that he had to endure and Ludwig had begged Satan for another one to be brought down. Although it was made clear to the German doctor that he will never bring another down for it was too risky, Ludwig still tried to find a way to do that himself.
An assistant of his had informed him about Ludwig's change in behavior whenever Satan was off to see the other managers of Hell. Usually, it wouldn't be much other than creeping around the place in a suspicious manner. Now, however, it was lockpicking and entering Satan's office to look through various human records and to watch the cameras that surveillance the human world and Hell's targeted souls.
It was easy to notice and identify that it was him. Ludwig often wears a white lab coat with a long tail behind, nearly resembling one of a dove's.
The assistant said he had developed a particular interest in a Russian man who's file was not as thick compared to some others. Mikhail was his name.
"Vell, if you're here to just ask about my experiment the you may leave, danke." Ludwig waved his red gloved hand at Satan, tossing his clipboard on his desk and returning his attention to the subject on the table.
"No, I don't think I will." Satan lowered his voice in order to sound calm and collected despite the rage inside him, but it seemed to have intimidated the doctor. His body went rigid and hands spread out by his side. At least he got the doctor's attention now.
Ludwig slowly turned around, crossing his arms behind his back. A weak, nervous grin was forced on his lips, his eyes darting ever so often. Satan stood there in silence with Ludwig, letting him guess what he had done wrong.
"I know you had snuck into my office multiple times." Satan eventually stated calmly, his voice deep and quiet. Ludwig's grin disappeared from his face almost immediately, leaving a scared demon to tremble silently in his own lab.
"I know you're particularly interested in this one human man on Earth." The ruler of the Wrath Ring circled around him, his tail flicking under Ludwig's chin, curling ever so often to emphasize his point.
At this point, the doctor's eyes was screwed shut, eyesbrows furrowed, a slight grimace on his lips and a bead of sweat slid down the side of his head.
"I'll give you a chance to meet this man," Satan stepped away from Ludwig, letting the doctor breath out a sigh he was holding. "In return, you get his soul for me. Deal?"
"Ja!" Ludwig's voice sounded strained and he was shaking uncontrollably. His hands clenched to the sides of his coat, glasses crooked to one side with a wide smile plastered on his face. The sudden agreement shocked Satan for a moment or two before the feeling of satisfaction swelled in his chest.
Satan nodded and signaled for Ludwig to follow, which he did. It was a silent walk to his office, the clicking of dress shoes and boot heels against the tiled floor echoed through the halls. When they reached the office, Satan pushed the door open and offered for Ludwig to enter first, which he gratefully took.
"Now, Ludwig, I won't just let you go to Earth by yourself. You have to remain in contact with Hell so I'll send you some assistance." Satan explained, snapping his fingers and making Mikhail's file appear in his hand.
As he looked over his personal information, Ludwig was transfixed on the camera monitor. Both of his elbows propped up on the table with his chin in a bloody gloved hand, a loop side grin on his face as he stared at the mortal man on the screen.
Satan was sure half of all the things he just said fell to deaf ears when Ludwig let out a rather too dreamy sigh. Deciding steer the topic to the doctor's favor, Satan dropped the file next to him and let the doctor look over it freely.
"Why do you find this human interesting, anyhow?" Satan asked, a finger pointed directly at the screen.
"Vell, I can't tell you everything but if put simply: he's an interesting specimen." Ludwig emphasize the word 'specimen' with a grin on his face. Looks like he craves more than just attention from this human. He wants his body in a experimental and sexual way, Satan can only assume.
It didn't take long for Satan to introduce Ludwig with his new colleagues. The first of them was a demon from the Lust Ring named Spy. Satan didn't elaborate with the doctor on why he was named that way and Ludwig didn't bother asking. With the development in the human world, Spy took on the French accent to appear more seductive and romantic.
Spy showed up in the office with gray smoke surrounding him. When the smoke cleared out, Spy was shown to wear a blue pinstripe suit with a matching tie. His face was covered by a matching color ski mask and an unlit cigarette loose between his lips.
Unlike Ludwig, Spy was a Hellborn, meaning he was created and existed in Hell for longer than Ludwig had. While the German doctor could change his appearance with some difficulties because he fell from Heaven and became a sinner, Spy is completely adapted to his form and can no longer change it.
Spy had greyish blue skin, snake eyes and glimmering black scales that covered nearly half of his body. Whenever he opens his mouth to adjust, throw away his already used cigarette or to light another one, a glimpse of sharp fangs can be seen that are similar to those of a snake. His hair is unknown to the doctor because of the ski mask over, but Spy claimed it to be black with some grey hairs.
The second one belonged to the Wrath Ring with an unusual obsession with fire.
Originally, he had been created and had lived in the Envy Ring for about three decades. But due to the many misuses of fire and Levithan couldn't handle babysitting them for much longer, a transfer was made for a permanent change to the Wrath Ring.
It wasn't much of a struggle to move the fire demon when they realize the Wrath Ring will be much better than the Envy Ring. Most demons wouldn't want to be transfer to another because it will take several years for them to adapt to both environment and appearance.
Satan described them as an arsonist with an unhealthy attachment to all things fire when they arrived in the Wrath Ring. He would constantly try to burn several magazines in one day or start a fire within the office. Of course, no one really got hurt from all the burning but it was still an nuisance to try and stop them from doing so.
"I will let you meet him privately. They don't have a good connection with Spy." Satan said, a hand hovering over the small of Ludwig's back and lending him to where he was supposed to meet this demon. "Its name is Pyro if you must know. Don't refer it to anything else or try to give him a name."
The German doctor wondered why Satan switches constantly between pronounces. At first, he referred to the demon as a girl. Later on, however, Satan called the demon a 'they' and then a 'he'. At some point, the fire demon was called an 'it' either out of despise or something else.
The room that Satan led him to seemed to be a small flat that he had never seen before. All workers of Satan usually have their own living space, but Ludwig and some others were a special case so they have a place to live built by Satan himself. This room, Ludwig assumed, is new and he had a feeling like this wasn't the first room that the fire demon was assigned to.
"Uh, hello zhere." Ludwig said when he first came face to face with the arsonist.
Pyro was so much more different than Ludwig initially thought. They wore a thick gas mask over their head with a red hazmat suit. Their voice came out in muffles that Ludwig didn't really understand, so they decided to write down anything they want to say on a thick notepad. In the room with Pyro - besides accommodation furnitures - were several burned magazines and papers, a glittery unicorn backpack and their hand made flamethrower.
The curious thing about Pyro is that they don't have any visible demon features. No horns, no tails visible. They almost looked human to Ludwig. No features that indicate which Ring they belonged to, either.
"Come on, I don't have all day." Spy said, his French accent thick against his ear. In the room, Pyro stood up, grabbed his backpack and his flamethrower. Ludwig turned around with a surprised look on his face but didn't say anything. He didn't expect Spy to be that close to him, but he's in no position to complain.
Soon, the three of then returned to Satan's office with everything prepared.
"I hope you three got acquainted with each other. You won't get to stay on Earth for long, maybe a year or two at best." Satan snapped his finger and another door appeared in the office.
Unlike the entrance door to the office that is made of oak wood, this one was made of light birch wood with a silver knob. Ludwig can only assume this was his way to Earth.
"Spy will guide you as he had been to Earth several times to carry out his duties." Satan said, giving Spy a firm pat on the shoulder.
Pyro opened the birch door and entered the human world first, leaving the other two behind either follow him or to talk to Satan for a while.
"Watch out for the angels." Satan warned them, then he turned away and disappeared. Ludwig often witness him doing that but now it just seems dramatic.
To Ludwig's surprise, he ended up in a white space between Earth and Heaven when he gone through the door. Pyro was sitting above the doorway to Heaven, swaying and kicking their feet with muffled laughter. Spy leaned against the doorway to Earth, a lit cigarette in his mouth and a smile on his face.
"Let's go docteur, we have work to do." Spy stated plainly, walking towards the doorway to Heaven. Pyro jumped down from on top, grabbed Ludwig's hand and dragged him along.
Heaven is, as everyone is aware of, a holy place that can rid of any unholy aspects from any being. Heaven's consecrated ground can burn through a demon's skin quite easily and leave irreversible scars upon their body.
But due to the many times the Rulers of Hell had to come and discuss 'business' with the Archangels, some more intelligent demons created ways for them to enter Heaven without being obliterated completely. Unfortunately, Ludwig wasn't a part of that project at the time.
Spy's dress shoes clicked against the pristine white tiles, leaving small cracks on the floor. The smoke from his cigarette curling in the air slowly, spreading around and evaporating. Pyro's boots left dark stains on the floor and Ludwig's boots left trails that looked burned in. For good measure, their foot wear aren't burning off, but it shows that they're demons and not holy beings. There are always ways to prevent this from happening but Ludwig didn't have time to prepare.
"Vhat kind of business do ve have here anyvay?" Ludwig asked, walking close by Pyro's side as she skipped along. All around them were white pristine walls, with golden decorations and pearls. Large windows surrounded the place that give view to a golden lined city underneath. From Ludwig's understanding, down there is where all the people that became angels live. But Ludwig had never been down there or came in contact with those angels.
Spy took his cigarette out of his mouth and pressed the butt against the wall, leaving an ugly burned mark waiting to be discovered by the angels. Pyro mumbled something to Spy but it didn't look like the lust demon gave mind to it.
"We're here to discuss with an angel, obviously." Spy said as if it was obvious. "We demons needs to perform some rituals of our own before entering Earth's atmosphere. The angels can come and go as they pleased." Pyro grumbled at the mention of the angels being able to freely enter Earth.
The whole situation became clear to the doctor.
They're either here to kidnap an angel or tempt them into giving them access to Earth. And he's really hoping that it was the former.
As the round a corner, a young angel in a light baby blue uniform poofed into existence in front of Spy. Ludwig took two steps back and pulled Pyro behind him. Spy didn't give much of a reaction other than an awkward flinch.
He had a young and oval shaped face, brownish blond hair that were cut short and bunny like front teeth. His uniform indicate that he was one of the regular angels that usually get sent to Earth to make blessing. Ludwig had rarely interact with the low class angels but he does routine checks on them sometimes. Like angels, some demons also have free will to come to Earth. Not them, though.
Spy could come and go as he pleased, but he can't take anyone else with him other than his equipments. Pyro was deemed to risky to come to Earth, and Ludwig wasn't fully mentally prepared to go through the procedure.
The young angel looked awfully cheerful to see a couple of demons in the realm of holiness. But as soon as his eyes landed on Spy, his smile fell and his expression became more neutral.
"Whatcha three demoms doing here? Don't cha know that it's basically forbidden?" He asked, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall. Ludwig didn't know whether to be afraid of his old colleagues catching sight him or to be glad that an angel isn't oblitetating them on sight.
Pyro cheerfully waved at the young angel and muffled a few words to him. Unfortunately, the baby face angel did not understand anything and was left staring at Pyro with a confused look. The angel eventually looked over Spy's shoulder and a frown appeared on his face.
"Ya gonna have taken clean that up. I'm not cleaning your mess." He said, a finger pointing at the stains left in the floor accusingly.
Spy sighed and pulled the angel by the shoulders close to him. "Listen, Jeremy, do me a favor and not tell your superior about us."
It wasn't much of a command but the angel reluctantly agreed without any complaints. Spy and the angel started talking in whispers, occasionally sighing audibly.
Pyro then pulled out his notepad from his glittery backpack and scribbled down something with a blue pen. When he was done, it was shown to be an explanation on how Spy know the angel that is named Jeremy so well.
Apparently, from what Ludwig can read, Spy and Jeremy were both from Hell once. Jeremy was a sinner and Spy was a Hellborn. They had a close father and son relationship with each other until one day, Jeremy was miraculously redeemed and brought to Heaven.
Ever since then, they have been sending each other letters about their own lives. Jeremy said Heaven was much better than Hell and that Spy lied to him about Heaven being full of arrogant angels.
"Alright, gentlemen, I've strike a deal with Jeremy." Spy announced, fixing his tie and dusting his suit as Jeremy shrugged and walked away. Ludwig watched the young angel leave, wondering just how long he had been in Heaven if Spy had been in Hell longer than him.
"Let us make haste, gentlemen." Spy started walking in a direction that was familiar with Ludwig. "We don't have all day to get you to Earth, Ludwig."
"Ja, I know." Responded Ludwig as he made sure Pyro was catching up before picking up his pace to keep up with Spy.

Two things
Any tips for line work?
Any tips for drawing eyes?
You’ve got a killer style for that and I struggle for things like that, so was wondering what you do for that and have any advice for a young artist? Also Steve is gender goals and me and him have the same haircut which makes me happy. Comics with an older queer character are nice, makes me happy to see someone like me get to get older like that :]
This ended up really long, sorry...
"Style" is really just an amalgamation of every decision an artist makes. When you're starting to learn, your brain is processing a LOT on the technical and fundamental side. In time, these will become tools for you to use as you please.
Your style is in you already, I assure you. It's the clothes you love, your favorite color, the season that makes you comfy... Art is a form of communication, and the first person you have to learn to communicate with is yourself. It's a lifelong process of growth, self love, and personal expression. It's nothing to rush!
these are from 2011, 2016, and 2023!
(13, 18, and 25 years old)
You can see how my skills have evolved, but my tastes are rather much the same. I've still got an absolute ton to learn.
When it comes to lineart, if you find yourself regularly struggling with "losing energy from the sketch", then making your lineart thicker might be a solution; thicker lines are a lot more forgiving!
This is a common issue many artists struggle with. It happens because the sketch has multiple lines, so the brain gets to choose which one it likes most. When you do lineart that choice isn't up to the brain, so it's not tricking itself to seeing all its favorite lines anymore.
Lineart can also help you define depth. Generally speaking, thicker lines tend to be on closer objects, and further away objects have thinner lines. You'll also lose more and more detail (and sometimes edges) the further away an object gets.
It can also define light in your lines. solid blacks can block out entire sections of shadow. Another option is hatching, and another is stippling. It doesn't have to define light, though, many styles define their light through various other shading methods.
My biggest tip for lineart is to practice "line confidence." fill a sketchbook page with lines that span the entire length of the page, evenly distanced, as straight as you can, without lifting the pen. Do this every day. Fill a page with ellipses, fill a page with circles. Do this every day. Eventually, you'll learn to 1: draw with your entire arm, which will save you a lot of quite literal pain in the future, and 2: you'll be able to draw the right line the first time more often, which will save you time and frustration!
I didn't have an example offhand so I did this to show what I mean, but I highly suggest doing this on paper in ink and not on the computer, if you can.
When it comes to eyes, definitely look lots to real people, and also pay attention to how artists stylize them! There's generally 4 main things to keep in mind:
1: the top lid. This one is major for defining the expression, so it changes a lot depending on context.
2: the bottom lid! this one doesn't move nearly as much.
Each lid has a vertex, and changing where the relative high and low points are on them between characters can change a lot about what the eyes are saying.
3: the sclera (whites of the eyes), iris (color of the eyes), and pupil (the hole we see out of)! These change an absolute TON based on style.
4: the eyelid!
and here's me just moving each of the elements around! it changes a lot about what the eye is saying as you change each element, play around with them! try not to always go with your first choices.
There's a lot more to eyes than this, and a lot more to lineart as well... but I hope this is something of a starting point! Getting better about art is about learning to think and study everything you see. I genuinely see the world differently than I did 10 years ago, and I'm much happier for it (and a much better artist!)
And when it comes to writing stories about queer characters who get to be older and still happy, I hope to someday see you making stories that bring someone the same sense of comfort you had reading my work. I hope it someday becomes normalized, mundane even. And I know it starts with people like you deciding it's important! We're here, we've always been here, and we're not going anywhere.
Best of luck on your artistic journey, I wish you a long lifetime of growing closer to yourself through your art.

Ein's Art Log #1
@lixenn!! Here's the timelapse I recorded for my rarepair week submission! I'm just gonna start this log series because I wanna study art more and take notes of it here in this blog. And maybe it will help people with their drawings? I'm putting my notes below ↓↓↓
Draft & Lineart
First, for this art, I used a base made by Ging (깅). Using bases like these are always useful for a lot of things and it also forces me to draw things (like poses, hands, etc) I wouldn't normally draw by myself (if its up to just my hand with zero braincell input, I would just draw the characters facing 3/4 to the left over and over). Also a lot of them are just so *chef kiss*, god bless Korean artists. They're so good, especially with how they do the figures and anatomy!
I just adjusted the base a bit to match the characters' heights, since Kurumi is taller than Chrome by like 6cm.
Then when making the drawing a draft layer over the base, I usually use bright colors like green, red or blue (most often green). I usually don't think about the draft too much even if it turns out ugly, I think it's actually better that it turns out ugly and messy.
Otherwise, if the draft looks slightly more decent than expected, then I'd become too lazy to draw a more proper lineart. Whenever I remember to do so, I also use a gray-colored background so it's easier on my eyes, especially since I drew this after work.
For the "lineart", I used a brush called 촉펜 (MTL says it's "Touch Pen" in English; Content ID: 2050169). I recently started using this for doodles/sketches, it feels nice. It was free when I downloaded it, but it costs 10 Clippy now.
Anyway, I used a little bit more braincells for the "lineart" now after the draft, but then I didn't really try that hard to make it look clean, since I'm rushing to finish it as fast as I can. I just made sure that the outside lines are connected just enough for easier selection & coloring later.
Coloring & Shading
The coloring is where my experiment actually started! I usually go ahead and color them one-by-one per each color and part, but to be quicker, I used the Magic Wand selection tool to select the area outside the background, then inverting it so now the selection is at the characters *except* the background.
I then used the the bucket tool to fill the selection with the color I use as the base skin color. I still keep the selection there for further coloring purposes.
Just from here, I added another layer on top for the shading of the skin! For the shading, I used a brush called Yuri Watercolor (Content ID: 1889385). This one's really a paid brush, but I liked it a lot so I got it hahaha.
I do plan on replicating on doing this on IbisPaint one of these days! My plan so far is to use the free watercolor brush there, lower the brush opacity to around 60-70% and then draw the shading on a clipping layer set to the Multiply layer effect.
After shading, it looks like this now! I didn't mind the colors bleeding through the non-skin parts (except for two parts: the neck shading that would bleed to the face and thigh shading that would bleed to the skirt). I also used this brush to color Chrome's eye. Huhu I can't remember how I did it, helpskjfbjsbf
Then for the coloring of the hair and clothes, I just used the soft airbrush! I tried using the Yuri Watercolor brush for it too, but I couldn't quite grasp it yet on how to use it for coloring/shading those parts. I guess I know what to study next hahaha
When coloring the hair (and clothes), I did color the middle parts but didn't really full-on color till the edges to make that fading effect at the edge.
For the shading, I added clipping layers above and used the watercolor brush again!
For the hair highlights, I used the soft airbrush again. I just used a white color on a Soft Light layer effect to add a faint highlight on their hair (showed on picture on the left). Afterwards, I added another layer above with the Add/Glow effect and turned down the opacity to around 50%, to put more shine to it (showed on picture on the right).
Additionally, I also added a paper texture layer at the bottom! I also grouped up all the lineart and color layers into one folder and set the layer effect to Linear Burn.
Finally, after a bit color corrections/adjustments, blur filters (post-processing stuff, maybe for a different post?) and adding some decorations, the drawing is finally done! KuruKuro my beloved 💖
That's the process I'm playing around with so far, but I think I can still improve on it. I'm also planning on making a page on my wiki to compile my resources, references and such (maybe some free to use assets too). But anyway, that's all for now!

Obscutober 2024 Day 30: Vitrine 💎
----------
Vitrine (n.)
a glass display case
----------
I may have still be short on ideas for this one, but I think I was mentally prepared for it a bit more, which helped considerably. 🙌
My best? No, but I do like it! Let’s just hope I can say at least that much tomorrow…😅 So close to the end!!
Click the "Keep Reading" and we'll talk a bit more about my general thoughts/process. ✨
Like My Art and Want to see more of it? Here's All My Links! ⭐️
----------
I admittedly yet again did not have a ton of ideas for this one, and it probably shows. 😅 However, I do think I managed a little bit better because I actually remembered this one was on the list for most of the month, so it's been kind of living in my subconscious all the while. I think that shows, too.
This was though a word I originally put on the list because of the fun I thought it would be if I'd chosen to work with the mini-magnets. Yes, a glass display case itself is a very specific thing, but the cases can be designed in a few different ways, serve different purposes, and hold a multitude of different things. I had it in mind that toying with the different expectations and contents of a glass display would lend themselves well to poetry.
...But I'm not working with poetry here, am I? 🙃
At least not literally; If you want to argue figuratively, I won't stop you.
Still, in another timeline where I had more than just a single day—probably more like a whole month to itself—to play around with the concept, and maybe if I had decided to work on a bigger canvas, I might have ended up with an outcome more like some of the designs you see in Adult Coloring books. I'm thinking along the lines of Johanna Basford's work, but she's just the one I know best by name, plenty of others I think could also do wonders with, "A glass display case full of interesting stuff."
I did try to capture a little of that general idea, still, but some of Sparklers are probably familiar enough with what I usually have to say about these mandalas by now that you might guess: I wanted to lean more in the "traditional mandala" direction. Both just for the aesthetic-y reasons, but yeah I will be frank that that way, particularly with this kind of subject, was much faster, too.
Speaking of, I would also like it on the record that I initially didn't back myself into quite as tight of time-crunch corner tonight...But I neglected to notice my Apple Pencil needed charging before I got started, so at one point I had to both break for dinner and just to let the pencil charge, and that basically ate up whatever tiny bit of "extra" time I had when I got started. 🫠
Anyway. I started with a vaguely French/Rocco Vitrine-inspired shape as my base, then "decorated" it a little, and tried to"fill" it with a few things—A crystal ball, something that lightly resembles perfum bottles, and a gem. Then I went around filling space with a little Art Nouveu and little Art Deco, kind of thinking of a jewelry store that's maybe been around for years and years, that would have a bunch of antique-y display cases hanging around instead of the sleek, boxy modern kind.
So not the most elaborate design in the world, but I do think this is one of my better attempts to marry the more doodle-y nature a lot of these have come out with and some more typical mandala motifs and ideas. It's still certainly not perfect in that regard, but I do think it kind of stands out in a good way because of that.
This is thought probably another where the colors are doing a lot of work to help things along. 😅
White lines were a must. They felt kind of essential to the "glass" feel, much like back on Day 21. And now is a good time to note that I also fought with myself quite a bit on the colors to keep the two of them—today and Day 21—from feeling too similar to each other. This was mainly accomplished by sticking with teals and avoiding "true" blues. Which, I do think that made for a nice nod to how a lot of glass has kind of an underlying green tint to it.
I still can't say I necessarily avoided them looking similar as much as I would've liked, all the things considered, but the clock was ticking, so it is what it is. 🤷♀️
...And I think that's kind of everything I have to say, really. Probably for the best since typing this out took longer than I expected and I still have to get to cross-posting, but I do feel a little bad that I managed to enjoy this one more than the last few and feel like I have even less to say about it. 🫤
Oh well. At least I am happy with it. I hope I can say at least that much tomorrow...And naturally, I really hope I can get tomorrow's posted earlier so I can be DONE and work on some other things, but after the way last week and this week is going so far...I have my doubts.
Even so, wish me luck either way, Sparklers—We're so close to the end!! 😵💫

15 questions tag game
thank you @officialfoxsquadron for the tag :D
Were you named after anyone? No. My parents just liked the name.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? I think a couple of weeks ago? I'm trying to remember if I cried in my last therapy session, and I vaguely remember tearing up. It's funny; I was such a crier well into my mid-twenties and then I just...wasn't any more. The fact that I can go a month or more without crying now is still bizarre even though I've been like this for a decade.
DO YOU HAVE KIDS? I don't. I would like kids, but that has not been in the cards for me up to this point.
WHAT SPORTS HAVE YOU PLAYED/DO YOU PLAY? Okay, well, first off, I've never competed in anything. I've taken horseback riding lessons (dressage and show jumping mainly), took ballet off and on over the years, I was a cheerleader in high school (I don't think the validity of cheer being considered a sport is called into question much any longer, but also, I was a base. I lifted people. It's a dang sport.), I used to run (I have successfully completed two 5k races and a 15k, but I think I'm done with running), and for the hottest of seconds, I did some roller derby training but never competed.
DO YOU USE SARCASM? Regularly
FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE? Their demeanor, I guess?
WHAT IS YOUR EYE COLOR? Blue/green with some yellow around my pupils (I think it's called central heterochromia, but I'm not looking that up right now)
SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS? I don't like truly scary movies at all, so happy endings, I guess. My limit watching something by myself is like...The Sixth Sense. I watched Haunting of Hill House with my mom and brother and loved it, but when I tried to rewatch it, it was way too spooky for me. And I don't think most people consider that show particularly scary, so. Happy endings.
ANY TALENTS? writing, I've dabble with different artistic mediums and have been solidly okay in most of what I've tried except fiber arts stuff, my brain works a little differently than a lot of people's, which works well in my line of work because solving problems sometimes involves looking at the issue differently, and I tend to notice stuff a lot of people don't (just like they notice stuff I don't).
WHERE WERE YOU BORN? Texas
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? Writing, horseback riding (though it's been nearly a year), video games, hiking if it's not 100000 degrees outside and my allergies aren't acting up (so, basically never these days)
DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS? Two cats, Winnie and Posey.
HOW TALL ARE YOU? 5'6". Fun(?) fact: my mom and all of her siblings grew an inch in their twenties, and I didn't expect to do that because I physically take after my dad a lot more than my mom, but I was 5'5" all through my teens and early twenties, and then suddenly was measuring 5'6", so I guess I also did the thing.
FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL? English and Anatomy & Physiology
DREAM JOB? Writer of some sort.

MY COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN!
I have finally opened my commissions! It took a bit to work out some kinks but I think I'm all good to go. My commissions are being held on Artistree, and I exclusively use that platform. I also only use PayPal to complete transactions. (Link at the bottom of the post - please read all of the information listed before you commission me.)
What types of commissions do you offer? Profile Pictures (headshots/busts) Sketch - $30 Lined - $40 Colored - $55 Shaded - $70 With Background - Depends on the option you select Little Beans (profile pictures or little scenes) Sketch - $25 Lined - $35 Colored - $50 Shaded - $65 With Background - Depends + Character - +$15 Reference Sheets Base Price - $100 Outfit Sheets Base Price - $165
Commissions Q&A
I asked you for a commission via Tumblr, why didn't you acknowledge it? Artistree is a platform that helps me keep track of my commissions as well as keep things organized. It also allows me to keep all of my profit, which is something I really need at the moment because living in America sucks. I will not take commissions from anyone who notifies me here. If you want to commission me, please go to my Artistree request form and fill out that. Then we'll discuss from there.
Do you plan on offering more commission types in the future? Of course! I do plan to slowly start offering more commission types. Some more along the lines of NSFW, as I actually quite like to draw especially tasteful nudes. But for now, I'm really only offering what I know will be light on my current workload, as well as to just get me used to taking commissions professionally as a whole.
Can I pay with something other than PayPal? No, sorry. Maybe in the future I will start accepting more ways for you to pay, but for now I'm strictly using PayPal because it's something I'm familiar with.
Do you make art for commercial use? NO. My art is under no circumstances to be used commercially. I only make art for your own personal use. I do not intend to make art for commercial use. Again, maybe in the future this will change, but my art is to never be used commercially. Do not commission me if you have the intent of using it commercially.
What are you not willing/willing to draw? Well, for a general sense, I will not draw: Complex armor, complex backgrounds, mecha, some kinks/fetishes (ask me), minors in sexual/nude/provocative situations, hateful rhetoric, heavy religious symbolism (ask me), situations with dubious/no consent, vehicles I will/love to draw: Gore (all varieties), nude characters, some kinks/fetishes (again, ask me), anything Pride related (that's not hateful), fantastical creatures, romance, NSFW, furries, aesthetics I'm willing to draw for a variety of fandoms, but these are the ones I will not draw: - Anime (not an anime fan) - Super Wholock - Any live action show on streaming services, really - Big Bang Theory - Total Drama Island - Disney Princesses - Country Humans - Harry Potter - Lord of the Rings - Warriors - Marvel/DC - Spongebob If you're unsure if I'm willing to draw a fandom you're in that I have not listed, feel free to send me an ask on here so you can get my opinion.
How flexible are your prices? My prices are fixed at the number they are. There is no negotiation. This is done so I can keep track of everything and make sure everyone is subject to the same pricing scheme and no one feels as if they were cheated.
Will you post my commissions on Tumblr? Only if you allow me to! I will ask every customer of mine if it's okay for me to post your commission on my Tumblr, and you reserve the right to decline.
What is your refund policy? No refunds. This is mostly because I'm in a sticky financial situation at the moment.
How long do you normally take? It depends on the type of commission you ask me to do. If you just want a sketchy profile picture, then it'll be done relatively soon. But, if you want an outfit sheet, that's gonna take me at least a month. So it just depends on what kind of commission you'd like.
Do you need a reference or can I just describe my character to you? REFERENCES HEAVILY PREFERRED. Even if it's just a simple color palette with some loose doodles, it's better than nothing!
I noticed that your last two commission types have just a base price... what's up with that? I describe it better on Artistree, but it's essentially an all in one package that has a level of customization with it. Which means that the base is already lined and colored, and nothing can be removed since it's a package. However, you can put add-ons, which you'll see on the request form.
What about discounts? Again, something that I will do in the future. I'm actually planning on offering special discounts for those who support me on Patreon (which I have not opened yet, so don't go looking for it, lol), but that's a later on down the line type deal. Holidays and such will also have discounts, but it's something I'm not doing at the moment.
If you have any other questions, do not be afraid to ask me! I am always willing to answer your questions. Please note: It might take me a while to see your ask, but I will answer it eventually! I check Tumblr quite often! You don't have to tell me it's not healthy. I know...
Anyways, after all that, here is the link to my request form! https://artistree.io/request/pjplays
Thanks in advance! ❤️

forgot to say this in the original ask, but of you have any tips on how to draw hair i’d thank you forever 😭 i’m really struggling with that
aw thanks! idk if im the best to ask for advice but hopefully you find any of this useful!
honestly it's really as simple as just drawing even if you think it looks bad don't get discouraged because it's all part of the process and you will get better when you are drawing on a regular basis. just look at the first drawings i had on here compared to my more recent stuff - the more you do it the better you'll get!
look for inspiration and references, its not cheating to use references as long as you are not straight up copying your reference 1 to 1. i like going on pinterest for inspiration especially for clothes! i also like to see what other artists are doing, instagram is also good for finding art inspo, i also found watching speed paints on youtube a good way of seeing how other people color and how to apply it to your own drawings
I'll talk more about what i do under the cut lol
for my process, i like to start off with a super messy sketch im talking chicken scratch. it's not supposed to look good its just supposed to give you a base for your drawing and allow you to figure out what you want to do.
then i start a new layer on top, lower the opacity of the initial sketch and i start drawing on top and refining everything so I have a cleaner sketch that's closer to the final drawing. this is usually where i finish figuring out the poses anatomy, hair, expressions, hands etc. it's still kind of messy but it'll feel more like you are filling in the blanks rather than starting from scratch
finally i do my lineart in another layer and for your lineart where you just make sure to keep your lines smooth and clean
Then i just do my base colors and shade, for this one i didn't really go all out with the shading so it may not be the best example lol, i just kept it simple which is ok! sometimes less is more it just depends how you want the final piece to look.
for hair specifically - i don't really have a tutorial, when i draw hair i just sketch out the shape i want the hair to have in the initial sketch, and then i had more detail when i clean up my sketch. I usually start by adding the strands that frame the face first or the hairline and then go out from there to the rest of the hair. I also don't draw every single strand, i tend to keep it more simple since i have a simple style
I found this tutorial on pinterest which pretty much how i go about it execpt i usually have a rough idea of the overall shape first and i don't go as detailed as the final result, i usually stop around the third step
i hope ANY of this was helpful and not too rambley! feel free to ask more if you have any more questions!

By the way in case you've been following me since my Clone High days and wondering what happened, this is the post.
Why don't I post about Clone High anymore? There's three reasons.
1. Devil May Cry. It's actually funny how you can pinpoint the exact moment I started to switch fandoms, and that was when I decided to make Clone High OCs based on the historical figures Dante and Virgil, but also based on the Devil May Cry characters Dante and Vergil, but specifically based on their reboot versions.
Anyways, yeah, DMC hijacked my mind and it's all I can think about. Same goes for Power Rangers, though to a lesser extent since I have yet to really integrate myself in the fandom itself. And hey, speaking of fandoms,
2. I'm not sugarcoating things: The Clone High fandom is garbage. The sheer amount of pedophile apologists in the community is genuinely concering, especially given how many of the fandom consists of minors. And no, I'm not giving them the luxury of calling them those self-coined terms they use to hide themselves under, I'm saying what they are because that's what they deserve; No amount of "it's just fiction" excuses posting about how "fun" it is to sexualize minors in a fandom FULL OF MINORS, KNOWING MINORS INTERACT WITH YOU.
On the contrary, or maybe as a result, a lot of fandom members have started witch hunts against others left and right for significantly smaller, bordering on nonexistent, issues. I could bring up how rings4casey is a hypocritical piece of shit who thinks harassment is okay as long as you're on "the good side"... oh wait, I already brought it up. Anyways, it didn't also help that around the same time, yet another Clone High Discord server controversy was happening that dealt with a similar topic; I wasn't in the server for it and I only heard secondhand accounts of it so don't ask me about what happened.
Edit: I'm also not gonna let it slide how racist this fandom can be lol. From redesigns that whitewash characters of color to straight up making nazi OCs, this place sucks for my Mexican/American and Jewish ass
The point is that this fandom was just a hostile environment to be in; You can be the shittiest person in the world and get away with it because everyone is busy punishing someone who went only slightly out of line. But to be honest, I think I dipped at a great time, because...
3. The show's dead. It got cancelled uncerimoniously after season 3 ended on a cliffhanger that'll never be resolved. I already lost hope on the show after season 2, and I didn't even bother to stay for season 3 and was only into the fan content, but now the show is dead and the fandom committed mass suicide.
TL;DR: Why should I churn out content for a series I don't like anymore, for a fandom whose five only remaining members are constantly going at each other's throats, and when I could just focus on the series and fandoms I do like making art for and participating in?
Wait, but what about my Clone High OCs and that rewrite project? I liked posting about that, will they just be abandoned now that I've deleted the sideblog made just for them?
HELL FUCKING NO THEY WON'T. I still love my OCs absolutely dearly, and I definitely have plans to revamp my Clone High "rewrite" into an actual proper series. Just don't expect it to be on tumblr because I kinda hated using tumblr to catalogue my OC stuff lol. Instead, check my dedicated Toyhouse folder for my Clone High OCs, and be on the lookout for an entire page to fill you in on the lore of their universe.
Also, I don't actually know if I still want them to be Clone High OCs. On one hand, I don't like the series anymore, but on the other, these characters being clones of historical figures is literally integral to their stories and the premise is just way too good to throw to the bin.
That's my final statement for the Clone High fandom; I still want Phil Lord dead in minceraft.

Prim And Proper Origins: Part 5
Prologue is here:
Part 1 is here:
Part 2 is here:
Part 3 is here:
Part 4 is here:
As soon as Primrose arrived home, she immediately stormed upstairs, barged into her room, and slammed the door into a fit of rage and jealousy. She let out an angered scream and started to take it out on her posters that hung on the pink walls.
It just wasn't fair! It wasn't fair in the slightest bit! Roy's attention was focused on that Esme, yet he never showed any interest into her! Roy was even willing to walk Esme home. And yet he never bothered to say goodbye to Primrose.
"What does she have that I don't!?" Primrose screamed to nobody in general. "What does he see in her that he doesn't see in me!? How dare that…that prostitute take my man away! Why couldn't Roy see that he and I are meant to be together!?" Primrose ended up punching the walls and her desk, not caring if she hurt herself.
"I hate her!" Primrose screamed some more. "I hate her! I hate her! I hate her! She will suffer for taking what's mine!! I'll make sure of it!" What Primrose didn't know was that one of the maids was outside of her room who had just heard everything.
She wanted to knock, but decided against it. Rather, the maid just turned and walked to the library where the phone was kept. She quickly picked up the phone, dialed a certain number, and waited for the person to pick up the phone.
Suddenly, she heard a man's voice on the other line. "Hello?"
"Hello, is this Dr. Stewart?" The maid asked.
"Yes, it is," Dr. Stewart replied. "How may I help you?"
"I'm currently watching over a teenager while her parents are at work," The maid explained. "Her name is Primrose Gaillot. I think there is something mentally wrong with her."
Later that night, Primrose had calmed down a bit. She wanted to find another way to "punish" Esme for stealing her Roy. But how could she?
She would try to get Esme expelled for something that she didn't do, but since everyone knew Esme, that would raise lots of suspicion. So that plan was scratched out.
"Ugh, there has to be a way to punish her," Primrose muttered to herself. "But what?" Her gaze landed on the pack of balloons. She had kept them ever since she was a kid but had no reason to use them…until now.
An evil idea formed into Primrose's mind. "I do hope that Esme likes 'water' balloons." A wicked grin formed across her lips as she opened up the pack of balloons.
Each of them came in a different color. But instead of filling them up with water, Primrose decided to fill them with something else: paint. Fortunately, she had lots of paint in the art gallery of her mansion. Primrose went to her destination and began filling up eight of the balloons with paints of the colors that she viewed as perfect.
After each balloon was filled, she knotted them closed so that no paint would leak out. "Now, I just have to wait for the right opportunity tomorrow…" Primrose said to herself, smirking.
With a sigh of relief, the maid hung up the phone after her conversation with Dr. Murray. The psychologist, after hearing about Primrose's behavior, was able to give a diagnosis.
Since that was taken care of, the maid had to do one other thing before she could start cleaning for dinner. She took the quill, a slip of paper, and began to write a letter. Fortunately, Primrose didn't barge in and demand her to start cleaning.
With careful movements, the maid wrote down everything she knew in the letter. Once she was done, she sat the quill down, folded the paper, and placed it in a white envelope. After sealing the envelope shut, she added her signature purple stamp on it.
Finally, the maid took the quill and began to write the name and a message on the front of the envelope:
Vladimir Gaillot
Do not open until you are by yourself
I don't own Madame Prim or her family.
Roy and Esme belong to me.
