I just love cringetober 2023 for giving me the opportunity to draw stuff I’d probably never draw willingly in my own free time… slutty cat-man bleeding melting candy??? honestly, this was too much fun

the prompt: day 14 — candygore! I have never even heard the word before seeing it on the list. had to consult google and was actually going to pass this one, due to having no knowledge and, frankly, no interest in this whole uhhh thing(?), BUT THEN. like lightning out of the clear blue sky, destielconfession (yes, that’s his name) appeared before my eyes! countless hours spent watching drawfee resulted into me remembering that he’s supposed to be candy themed/coloured (???) (can you plainly see that all I know about neopets comes from drawfee, or more accurately one particular member of drawfee?) anyway, I thought he fit the vibe, so I went with it! thank you, karina from drawfee (she’s on tumblr, check her out!!), for this guy, who helped me to fulfil the prompt!)))

Basically how I began my connverse phase.

Opposites-attract trope has been my favorite dynamic, but, like, I never actually considered the characters being not at each other's throat and instead have their opposite-ness comfortably bounce off or complement each other.

#arts #mottau #i mean i did enjoy drawing it. but also what the fuck #this is even sy's actual room yet this is a concept design for a room he will get later #like this is vaguely something i started drawing to conceptualize certain aspects of omega room design in this setting #but like at this point i could have explained more in three regular sentences #due to the potency of an omega's scent particularly in their living quarters certain aspects of their rooms are specially tailored #to contain their scent to the more personal parts of their living space. one could think of it as degrees of intimacy #with their bed area being the place their scent is allowed to fully saturate the space. the room divider here encloses the furniture needed #for dressing and whatnot as well for similar reasons and the curtain falling over it mimicking the canopy of the bed serves two functions #partially trapping in the scent and also adding an additional layer of 'hiding' to the nest area which makes it feel more secure #see? three sentences. that took five minutes to explain #i mean certainly the art looks niceys and all but im just so fucking perplexed. why did i do that

Small compilation of Charles looking kind of cunty in X-Men: Children of the Atom

#brieuc reads comics #charles xavier #marvel comics #Like I said I am kind of conflicted on this Charles #There is certainly an ableist undercurrent with his character because of how overtly manipulative he is #They sometimes draw him very malevolently so there is an idea that he is meant to unsettle you which inevitably feels part of his disability #But he is undeniably an entertaining character to read in this comic. His attitude his impulsivity his militaristic nature #they're all very interesting takes on Charles in a time where he was still by and large the kindly old schoolteacher.#I don't think the ableist undercurrents are particularly egregious in the grand scheme of X-Men comics but it IS there.#I do wish we got more of him and Magneto despite myself because the comic never really picks a side in between them.#There are comics where Charles is clearly meant to be right and comics where Charles is clearly meant to be wrong.#But this comic doesn't ever really choose? And Charles in it has moments of righteousness and of being deeply incorrect #Which is a human trait but isn't a nuance we often see applied to him #I dunno. Basically I think I enjoyed it all things considered.#Probably my favourite of the O5 comics I've read so far although it definitely needed more Jean #But I guess to be fair given Jean is the last one to join it makes sense #She just feels like an afterthought or narrative device more than an actual character which is a shame.

Polaris, the Northern Star, Queen of the Celestials

Since she won my OC poll, here's the face reveal of Polaris! (I should have figured she would win, lol. I've been meaning to draw her anyway.) Er, face reveal in the sense that celestials can change form, but you know what I mean.

Finally, the infamous mother of Loke and (former) Celestial Queen from HTRYDS gets an image to her name. I had a lot of fun designing her and it was nice to finally go all the way. And to throw in those easter eggs and tiny clues :)
