I'm new here! What's the best LP option to use for this new event? (Reiji and Otoya) I'm still stuck gaining 500 points for 1 time play with 2 LP, i want to gain more points...

Welcome!! Apologies in advance for the long reply!

Generally, the most efficient LP usage is 2 LP. For both 1 and 2 LP, you get the same rate of event points rewards (10x for 1 LP, and 20x for 2 LP) but past that the higher you use, you get diminishing returns for event points and general reward drops. 3-5 LP are still pretty good, but not as efficient. 3 LP gives 29x, 4 LP gives 38x, and 5 LP gives 46x.

Of all the options, 10 LP is the least efficient with returns of only 75x. Having said that, of course if you only have time to play one or two songs, then using 5 or 10 LP is better than not playing at all.

Disclaimer that I may be missing some tips since I myself havent been playing 100% efficiently either, but heres some extra tips:

Emotional Pieces / Team composition Tips:

Use pieces with an event bonus skill on all of your teams regardless of attribute.

Level up and idolise pieces with an event bonus as much as you can whenever you get another copy of them. In this case its the racing gacha Eiichi and Kira, and the event Reiji and Otoya. You can 'idolise' pieces by filling out the top line of their Piece Board and reading all of their story.

Guest Tips:

Choose guests with the highest event skill bonus for live shows. You can see the percentage they boost event points by in pink above their right title. Eg. 'ライブで盛られるイベントポイントを40％アップ' meaning it 'raises the received event points by 40%.’

You can reset guests using the 'ゲスト更新' button in the top left when choosing a guest to find the best one. Its a bit tedious, but getting a 40, 60, or higher percentage bonus every time really adds up.

Use your event bonus (glowstick) items to raise event points when you use guests with the super high event bonus skills. I saw an Eiichi with 100% bonus yesterday which was awesome.

Live Tips:

Make sure you're playing the event songs.

It seems best to play on the highest difficulty that you can most consistently full combo. Getting an S combo on normal is likely better than getting a C combo on expert.

Skip tickets used to be not worth much, but after some changes they now give only slightly less than playing manually so they're much more valuable. Thanks to @blueesnow for the comparison!

Only use auto if you can't play yourself and don't want to use skip tickets. If you are auto-ing a song, auto it on expert to get more points (I think).

If you lose your combo you can always exit a song by pressing the button in the top right corner, then pressing left button, then the right button to confirm. You don't lose any LP or items spent on the song. Especially useful if you've used a lot of LP or an event bonus item and don't want it to go to waste.

Play the song that you get the most event points for. In this event, Song Letter generally will give the highest amount of event points. You could also: a. Play a song with the same attribute as applicable pieces with event bonus skill. There are pieces with event bonus for each attribute this time. Playing the two Fresh (yellow) event songs will up the chance of seeing a high event bonus Eiichi guest (plus 80% or plus 100% event points). *I'm unsure how much/if the attribute of the guest bonus skill affects event points gained. b. Play the shortest song to save time.

Other Tips:

Use items marked with a pink speech bubble that reads 日限定 before they expire daily at midnight Japan time.

There are event missions for clearing each event song 3 and 5 times. These missions can be cleared by using 0 LP. They reward LP Charges and Event Bonus items. The LP Charges must be used the day that you claim them from the missions screen, so you may want to wait to claim them until you're sure you have time to use them.

Set pieces with event bonus skill your guest helpers in Menu>Player Detail>ゲスト設定>Pick one per attribute using the 変更する button. This doesn't help you, but its common courtesy since they will be your guest helpers for other players.

If you have time, it may be wise to wait until later in the event to use your event bonus (glowstick) items. By that point you'll have higher leveled event cards to use in your teams, and there'll be more guest players with high event bonus skills.

Follow guests you see with high event bonus skills so theyre more likely (?) to show up as a guest for live shows.

What happened to Kings of Paradise?

Lately, I've been having some thoughts about Kings of Paradise mainly because how it just stopped updating for years. Aside from the manga adaptations and the NSFW stories that were recently released in the EN app, there hasn't been any kind of update in regards to the main stories for each of the characters.

When KoP was first released, I was honestly surprised by how very mature and sexy it was. Voltage really went above and beyond to deliver a story about an MC getting divorced and finding love again. Kiyohito stole my heart and of all the guys he's my favorite with Kaisei coming in second.

I stopped reading KoP stories after a while because I lost interest and when I found out the later season stories had this love triangle thing going on, I really couldn't find myself wanting to continue the title. Fun fact about me: I don't like love triangles. In the end, I haven't played the title in a LONG time. Not even Kiyohito could get me to replay it.

Even so, I was very much looking forward to the new love interests. Kaisei really was interesting and fun since he's so eccentric compared to the others. The one I was looking forward to the most was the doctor, Tsubaki. That man is so fine. I was eagerly anticipating his story thinking it could get me back into playing the title again.

And so I waited... and waited... and waited... and waited... and waited...

After literal years of no updates I started to wonder if it was dropped. My suspicions were confirmed when I looked at the JP app and saw that Tsubaki and Blood Moon were removed from the line up. Yes, you heard me, removed.

I was beyond disappointed when I saw that in the JP app. More so because this isn't the first time Voltage has dropped a title without giving it a proper conclusion, like how it was with Rose in the Embers.

KoP was fairly popular if my memory is correct, so I can't see why Voltage would all of a sudden just drop it and not give any kind of update. Now, I know that first and formost, Voltage is a company and if one of their titles isn't bringing in the money, it'll get dropped. That's just how it is even though I don't like it. Still, why KoP of all the titles if it was fairly popular to the point where Kaisei was added to the VIP room. It got a manga adaptation for christ's sake. Why drop it??

Also why put a lot of side stories inside the VIP room gacha? Now that really makes me mad that those stories are locked behind a gacha.

After seeing Tsubaki and Blood Moon getting removed and years of no updates, I think it's fair to say Voltage dropped it and has no plans to go back to it unless they announce something. Which is a shame because I know lots of people loved that game and the characters.

I went to both Tokyo Disney parks! Some thoughts/experiences:

People there wave at animatronics! I get laughed at for doing that in Florida!

Go during Halloween if you can. Tons of cosplayers go and the costumes you'll see are insane. And you can easily get a picture with a really good cosplayer instead of waiting in line for an official face character.

The Halloween night show at DisneySea was the worst. 7 minutes of very few fireworks, followed by an extremely weird heartfelt song that was like "🎵it's Halloween night... And we will go out... And get treats🎶". What the hell was that? Also, they run fireworks until 9PM exactly. I'm guessing they have to because there would be massive crowds of people waiting if there was just one show. People there have no qualms about sitting and waiting for 3+ hours for a parade or fireworks show.

Fantasy Springs was really great. The central area, design aesthetic and rockwork tied it all together really well and the transitions between the different areas were about as seamless as they could possibly be.

The Frozen animatronics, because they were like 4ft tall and so skinny and had such huge eyes, looked like weird dolls/aliens up close. That might creep some people out but I really genuinely loved it. Get in the back of the boat and you can see them freeze between scenes. I've said this before but it's very weird that it's a boat ride, since it relies on one specific scene happening at a time, and every other boat ride there had scenes running continuously!

The Magic Lamp Theater is really good! I skipped it on my last trip because there's no real indication anywhere that it's anything more than a 3D show with Genie, but it has a preshow with an animatronic and it has live actors! And it runs continuously all day!

THE GACHA MACHINE IN THE TOWER OF TERROR GIFT SHOP. FUCK THAT ONE MACHINE IN PARTICULAR. I shit you not, I rolled that thing 9 times and didn't get the Henry keychain I wanted.

I saw a really amazing Sinbad cosplayer but they wouldn't let me get a picture :(

At Disneysea, I did 20k 2x, Sinbad 3x, Indiana Jones 3x, Raging Spirits 1x, Nemo 1x, Peter Pan 1x and Frozen 1x, and the carousel 1x. I would've done Aquatopia, but last time it got me very wet and I had to go home on the subway with wet socks, so no thanks.

It's insane how good the single rider lines are especially at night. Wish they would bring those to Disneyland. Beauty could use one; they even had signs up for one but it wasn't in use.

Why is Sinbad always a walk on?? It's one of the best dark rides ever and it has a cute character in it!

Covid absolutely murdered DisneySea's live entertainment and it has NOT recovered. The afternoon lagoon show was a "Halloween greeting" that consisted entirely of some characters riding a barge out onto the water and dancing. Remember when they used to sail pirate ships in that lagoon? Multiple theaters are sitting empty, notably in Lost River Delta and Triton's Kingdom. Very sad.

If you don't know how to use the app or how passes work, you're screwed on lines and you can't even get into certain restaurants, at least at DisneySea! It's heartbreaking! I made friends with an American couple in the morning who had no idea how any of the passes worked, so I told them. It took multiple explanations, which I don't blame them for because it took me a few weeks to understand it myself. Then when we got into the park at rope drop, they tried to get Frozen passes... and couldn't, because their app glitched out at the crucial moment. I understand the Fantasy Springs thing because it's so new, but paid fastpasses being implemented here and everything being dependent on the app... It hurts to watch, man. Especially since last time I went, there were still paper Fastpasses, which are much easier and more accessible. Idk, I just think it should be possible to walk into a theme park and have at least a chance of doing stuff without memorizing the rules of a bunch of different reservation systems (same problem I've had with WDW for years).

When you're on Frozen it's easy to not notice how bad the ride design is, unless you're like me (thinking "wow look at that empty space", "do we need 3 rooms for one song" etc) because it really is a technical marvel. Also I got hit directly in the eye by a water jet right after the Let It Go scene. Rude.

Haunted Mansion is smack dab in the middle of Fantasyland there. I'm not sure what the alternative is but it doesn't fit in there at all.

I do not care for Haunted Mansion Holiday. I hadn't seen it in person before this but damn it's so cheap-looking. Also I'm salty that I didn't get to see the Tokyo bride.

What I like about Beauty and the Beast is that you get a nice long look at every animatronic since the scenes are so long. I felt satisfied after one go-around, which is rare for me.

Were there canoes in Rivers of America at WDW? Regardless, I'm glad that there are some in Tokyo. Rafts, canoes and a boat-- multiple forms of transportation, like Walt wanted!

Davy Jones on Pirates has one of the funniest line deliveries I've seen on a ride. "So says I..... DAVY JONES-UH!"

Monsters Inc was really good. It's basically just Men in Black: Alien Attack-- you enter through a company run by weird creatures, and then shoot at those creatures as you go through a city that looks a lot like New York. They seem to have seasonal changes to the dialogue-- Luz said "happy Halloween" at the end!

In a crowded bathroom, a CM said "hime-sama, dozo!" to indicate which stall I should use. That's honestly the first time I've been called "princess" in a bathroom. This was even in Frontierland, a place you would not expect to be called a princess.

Country Bears Vacation Hoedown was great. Nothing prepares you for a bear singing Achey Breaky Heart in Japanese. They opened with Great Outdoors, which I remember from that one Disneyland sing-along VHS that I watched as a kid!

The Snow White ride is the one where the witch just fucking kills you at the end! The amount of stuff this park keeps that American Disney parks think are super offensive is insane. Yeah, we'll keep Trader Sam. Sure, we'll play Dixie in Critter Country. I do understand why they made those changes in America-- especially on Pirates, I forgot how creepy the bride auction scene was.

Sucks to see Space Mountain gone. I bet something big is coming to Tomorrowland since they got rid of Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain at the same time.

I'm pleasantly surprised that they kept Peter Pan's Flight, with Fantasy Springs and all. Though to be fair, it doesn't have a huge amount of space and barely any room for the queue, so there's probably not too much they could actually do with it.

I didn't get a picture but at the front of the Halloween parade was Dr Facilier doing the fruitiest little dance. And, WHERE IS THE HAUNTED MANSION BRIDE FACE CHARACTER? It's the Halloween parade!!! I did see like 4 women cosplaying as her though.

I got podracing and the Gungan city on Star Tours. Honestly, perfect. wouldn't change a thing.

I can't believe (in a good way) they included the FSU gopher on Splash-- nobody there knows what FSU is.

Someone was telling jokes and doing audience participation stuff over the intercom in the Jungle Cruise queue. Fun!

The Belle animatronics are life sized and not creepy up close. Probably not made by the same design team as Frozen.

Maybe I just haven't been to a Disney park in long enough but I'm pleasantly surprised at how close you get to the animatronics on these rides. Like, close enough to see the stray hairs on their heads. I wonder if someone has to re-style the animatronics' hair at night.

I really genuinely bow down to Japanese Disney fans. These mfs will spend 15-hour days in full cosplay, long sleeves and wigs and all. I saw a good number of people doing it.

People here are also so earnest! No sarcasm or irony, no "dad dragged to Disney" type shit (at least not that I saw). People clap at Country Bears, wave to you from the queue when you're on a ride, etc. For the most part, everyone really wants to be there. Plus Japanese people are so pleasant in general. I was at rope drop trying to get into an extremely popular land that opened 4 months ago. I haven't been in that situation in America but I don't think everyone involved would be quietly, politely filing into the gates. The only comparable situation I've been in was going to Hollywood Studios right after Rise of the Resistance opened, and it was kill or be killed there.

Don't try to do every single ride at Disneyland in one day, holy shit. I went on ALL the dark rides and it was a LOT of exertion. Prioritize the stuff you can't get at home. And you should probably do rope drop regardless of how many rides you do.

By the way, rope drop there consists of getting in line at 6:30 AM or earlier. I got to Disneyland at 6:30 on a Sunday and there were at LEAST a thousand people ahead of me. These people really do not fucking play around.

Million Dollar Bunny always works there! Is this one called 100 Million Yen Bunny?

Maybe I'm just spoiled by Magic Kingdom Tomorrowland, but the Tokyo one would really benefit from an Astro Orbiter or something. The place is largely just one level and that would make it a lot more dynamic.

Overall, yeah, I still think DisneySea is the best theme park in the world. Both parks are absolutely stacked in terms of attractions, the food is fantastic, and the staff, of course, is excellent in every way. It's just an incredibly pleasant experience overall. I can always find something to complain about at any park but my issues here were very minimal. In case you're going anytime soon, here are the rope drop plans that worked well for me (keep in mind that I got to both parks at 6:30AM):

DisneySea: first, grab a pass for Frozen if possible. It's crucial to get in super early for this one to get the standby pass; I've heard that international credit cards can take a little bit to process payments so you may have a hard time getting Premiere Access. If you get a standby pass, you can buy Premiere Access for another Fantasy Springs ride, or for Soaring if you're into that (it'll be 80 min minimum all day, but it's not worth that wait at all if you've been on either US version). Grab a 40th pass for Indiana Jones if you don't want to do single-rider for that one, or for Nemo if you do (Journey to the Center of the Earth was closed when I went, but prioritize that one too). Set an alarm to get another Fantasy Springs standby pass as soon as you can, because they run out fast. Run to Tower of Terror. Then do whatever you want for the rest of the day-- if you single-rider Indiana Jones and Raging Spirits, they are walk-ons all day. 20k Leagues will be a walk-on after 8PM.

Disneyland: grab Premiere Access for Beauty, then get a 40th pass for Monsters Inc. If you're in the park early enough, they should both give you really early return times. Set an alarm for the next time you can get 40th and Premiere passes (the app will tell you both) and when they go off, you can probably get a 40th pass for Big Thunder. You can buy Premiere for Baymax too, if you're into that. Then run to Pooh, and if you have enough time before your 40th/Premiere return times, go to Mansion. All the other dark rides in the park will have very reasonable wait times for the rest of the day, except for Splash, which will probably have Premiere Access available for pretty long into the day. Pooh and Monsters' wait times will go way down after 8PM too. If you want to see the afternoon parade, I recommend getting in the Peter Pan queue about 3PM; it's in a good spot to see the floats and you don't have to deal with the truly massive amount of people who by that point will have secured all the good parade viewing spots 3 hours earlier.

Character Impressions

My first impressions + later opinions on the characters

The Goddess she's so freaking pretty!! I actually squealed when I saw her, she's jaw dropping gorgeous. Pls come back miss and don't pull an unknown genshin god on me ☹

Rover - more had hopes for a short haired girl mc but she had to join the rat tail gang :/ amnesia is definitely kind of a boring plot device but I'll roll with it.

Yangyang love her voice, reminds me of Qiqi, cute design - don't really know what role she's playing in the story yet other than like our guide but if she's just that I wouldn't mind having a calm one. she acted a little sus about baizhi and us I guess?? and her role??

I love her connection to the wind via her aero affinity (?) and would love to find more about it as well! She's part of the Midnight rangers.

Chixia she's cute too, her design bugs me a bit cuz of the hair and the weird jacket I guess? she's definitely kind of paimon (sorry for the references but like yeah) food and stuff but she seems to take her job as a ranger(?) seriously!!

Baizhi miss elegant + mysterious. Definitely like her calm aura as well, she's from the academy which I'm really interested in. she knows something and I wanna be in on it too.

Jinhsi ♡ girl appeared out of nowhere and stole my heart, asked me out on a date and vanished for 3 days I'm super interested, miss magistrate looks majestic as fuck. (the reason I like her design so much might me cuz she reminds me a little of firefly)

Sanhua another majestic woman I'm in paradise. her eye thing is so fucking cool I want to know more about her as well. She's suspicious too, obviously, but that's just adding to the suspense. if big plot device why 4 star ☹ (could say the same about the rest of the cast so far 😭)

Jinhsi sent her to watch over us.

Mortefi bro has a funky name. at first I was like nahhh but he's kind and I wanna know what his deal is as well.

Jianxin Girl also appeared out of nowhere. the reason I knew her name is cuz i looked at the gacha beforehand. She looks super cool, love her ying/yang/monk theme. massive xianyun/shenhe vibes I think?

She's super kind and I want her to be more involved in the plot.

Scar Okay Scar seems to be the bad guy. He's a little insane and knows too much about our backstory?? And he's got long ass nails. I want to trust him with the lore dumps but he seems really dangerous. His Elysium ability is super cool.

Spiderlily themed girl Scar's companion of same (?) power level. Love her design and voice, hope to meet her again soon.

Jiyan The current general of the midnight rangers, he fought with us at the Norfall Barrens. At first I didn't really like his design but now I think it's neat. He is kind and looks out for us.

Encore ♡ A member of the Black Shores. If sweetness was a person, it would be encore. She is adorable and silly, I love her so much. Her design is adorable and I can't wait to see her again! She's so energetic and loud in the best way and her dynamic with Aalto makes me smile.

Calcharo ~ It appears we haven't met yet

Aalto A member of the Black Shores. This guy I swear to god. At first I thought he would be another Sampo to me because I could not see myself liking him at all, but he is genuinely such a sweet guy??? Like I said, the dynamic with Encore is everything to me and might be my favourite duo so far even. His design is also really cool and he's got such a pretty face, I adore his eyes.

Danjin ~ It appears we haven't met yet

Lingyang ~ It appears we haven't met yet

Taoqi A security overseer? I don't remember her title, sorry- Her design, like almost everyone is really pretty although her jiggle physics are somewhat concerning. We haven't seen much of her yet which is sad but I hope we see more in future updates. Her voice is gentle and I love her vibe although she doesn't stand out to me much (yet).

Verina A botanist. She loves plants and is friends with that one granny and seems to know Encore as well. She is a free spirit and eager to help. Her design might be one of my favorites yet - her dress with the hood, the twintails, flowers and legwarmers are just perfect.

Yinlin ~ It appears we haven't met yet

Yuanwu I don't have much to say about him other than that he's goofy and we've barely seen him ;-;

Walpurgisnacht and how it ties it all together

So what is Walpurgisnacht?

Walpurgisnacht is a once a season fanservice event. It's a story thing with light character development. It's a banner with functionally an entire new rarity of ID. It's a game mode meant to demonstrate the power of those new IDs. It is a massive money maker for the company. And I believe it is kinda sorta the thing endgame players will align their behavior around.

That's a big claim at the end there, but I'll try to explain.

The key thing to focus on is the banner and the units that come with it. Walpurgis IDs are unique in that they are only available to purchase during a Walpurgisnacht, with the banner IDs being completely unpurchasable the first time they show up. Yes, you need to win the latest hype units from the Gacha or wait 4 months to buy them. These IDs are powerful, and, as this is a fanservice event tend to be referencing some of the coolest shit in PM's universe.

Needless to say demand is high while "supply" is dictated by a 1.5% drop chance or a 200 pull pity. This is pretty normal for a gacha, but a radical departure for Limbus, and it has some serious consequences on how we think about resources.

So in my last post I went over how Limbus' gacha after a certain point isn't worth it, and it ends up being mathematically better to convert premium currency to stamina to just grind out the units you want. There are several extremally important caveats to that statement, and the biggest one is Walpurgisnacht. I want to address that point here.

You want pulls for this, because you can't buy the unit until months after its arrived and you'll probably want it now. This changes how you might think about refreshing stamina, because you want to stockpile currency for a big pull session every 4 months. Counterintuitively, you want a lot of shards if you're new to buy the old Walpurgisnacht stuff, as unless the game powercreeps to hell and back a lot of these will be good forever (Regret Meursault EGO fundamentally changes how we think about his IDs and gameplay in perpetuity).

If we math it out (and use vague estimates so this doesn't become a wall of numbers), you can get 100 pulls from purely weekly Lunacy gains between Walpurgisnachts, but that number decreases for every refresh you do. if you refresh once every day, you're down to 85 pulls, and further down to 26 pulls if you double refresh. Ouch. However. there are other sources of pulls than just the 750 a week, and they add up substantially.

All of which is to say it's probably better to only do a single refresh to save pulls for Walpurgis, but if you do double refresh you will still have the ability to pull on this and maybe get the Banner ID.

But there's one other aspect to Walpurgis that has been met with some apprehension by the community, but makes me wonder at PMs intentions for the late game experience.

Gacha Announcers.

So Limbus has a system for Combat Announcers, There's no gameplay advantage for this, it's just to have your favorite characters comment on how bad you're playing, a nice little bonus reward that's easy to do if the VA is in the studio.

Walpurgisnacht slightly changed that, in that it added 2 Announcers to the Walpurgis gacha pool, Malkuth and Pierre/Jack. Malkuth is a major character from both Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina and a fan favorite; the response to her being available was... significant. Pierre/Jack are also here. The Announcers are very rare (1.3%), and cannot be purchased, but are Pitiable (Malkuth most of all, heyyo). They take their rarity from the filler pulls, so nothing is actually lost as far as odds goes.

A big sticking point is you can roll dupe Announcers as they aren't removed from the pool like EGO, and many are upset they might not get Malkuth and instead the other guys. Undeniably that sucks, it's probably rare to save up 200 pulls for the pity and it might feel like a waste. But this decision also propelled Limbus on Steam's top 10 seller charts for the day, so PM rang in the new year with a smashing success of sales. It's also unclear if we can purchase the Announcers later, so that also is driving some fomo.

So that might seem bad, but one interesting thing is that dupe announcers give a lot of thread, 50 crates worth. Thread is the primary currency for upgrades and at endgame you want thousands of the stuff.

This creates this image to me of what an endgame player looks like, and I wonder if it's intentional. They have all or most of the game's available IDs and are now just spending Lunacy to stamina refresh to grind more boxes or thread or exp or w/e. That person now gets a second Thread bomb from Walpurgis separate from the seasonal turnover Thread bomb, which is the primary restriction of end game. I'm probably reaching here, but there's a logic to this that makes sense to me.

That's about all for Walpurgisnacht, but there's a couple other things I think are neat.

One, the game becoming one where you hoard gacha currency for a big dump to hit pity every 4 months is hilariously normal for this genre, albeit we actually get all the units.

Second, community engagement spikes with this as we get classic gacha posts like:

"Hey I just got every relevant unit in a single 10 pull, how wacky is that?" "150 pulls and nothing, it's so fucking over" "Can I get this unit in 3 single pulls? If not game sucks and devs are @%$#." "I STOLE MY MOM'S CREDIT CARD WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK"

Classic.

have you played Love and Deepspace and what is your review on it??

Hello! Yes I have. It's sitting in my homescreen right now on my phone.

I think my opinions on it might be quite mixed or controversial? So just bare that in mind before reading.

I've played a looot of otomes. I think I started playing them in 2009. I can very much say that LADS is a unique experience. It's not like anything I've ever played before in terms of graphics, cinematography and interaction with your fictional boyfriends.

The Great:

I think the interface and design is really nice in certain aspects (the combat is a bit iffy). This is a very pretty game imo. Also can I just say, having a customisable MC is really great! I like that you can change not just her skintone but her voice settings as well. I also just- LOVE the 4 and 5 star cards content. They hold some examples of lovely scenarios written with care, and some good ole fanservice to boot as a treat. Whoever does the lighting for the 5* cards does a marvellous job, as the animations really feel 'alive' sometimes. Great direction with using the MC as the POV so the 'camera' swings or moves closer according to how she's reacting. Love that.

The LIs:

I think having a varied cast is important in otomes but a common vibe or theme can often be shared between their contrasting personalities. For Piofiore its mafia/crime lords and domestic life, for Cafe Enchante cosy coffeeshop vibes. With Love and Deepspace I'd say its cosy vibes mixed with action, mixed with angst. The cast supports this, with all of them having serious or sweet sides. I am definitely not drawn to some of them, but that's okay! I think anyone going in new should know they won't like everyone and that's common for otome. What I find uninteresting might be wonderful to someone else and vice versa. I will say Sylus took the spot as my favourite and he has a very different vibe to the others even when he's doing cosy domestic stuff. I very much enjoy his scenes and how dynamic they feel (also its really nice the whole cast is in their twenties)

The Bad:

The worst casualty in Love and Deepspace is...the main story. I can't overstate how much of a confusing, poorly written and badly executed mess the main story is. In terms of setup, establishing lore, world building and stakes, it somewhat limps from one chapter to another. Scenes can begin and end abruptly with plot threads seemingly dropped. Secrets can often be intriguing, yes- but by continually withholding answers the game can get a bit frustrating. As a new player with no knowledge of the game, I didn't understand why Rafayel kept referring to himself as a fish during the crane game and kitty card mini games. It was like they were referencing something that hadn't happened yet in game, so I was like - okay, I'll wait. I'm sure it'll be explained (spoilers: it was not explained).

Essentially if you want backstory and context to the boys you NEED their cards to unlock their content, and I'm not a huge fan of that. I think the main story should still at least give you a bit more to work with about the boys. (This is especially bad when the lore is locked behind gacha luck). And I get that the whole story is space/time themed but sincerely I did not know the world of Love and Deepspace was capable of casual space travel until I read Sylus' anecdote story. This is not good worldbuilding. Sure it throws loads of terminology at you but you'll have to read the notes yourself to understand what they are. It's a lot of telling and not showing. For an example of how this could've been done: Cowboy Bebop is about bounty hunters in space. It has scenes of them...in space. You're telling me someone as rich as Sylus, who offers MC to go on his motorbike, yacht, and private jet, wouldn't offer her a circle around the planet in his spaceship? Idk it feels like a lot of worldbuilding details have been overlooked.

There is also the issue of voice acting. This can again come down to personal preference but in general I always give English Dubs a fair chance, and enjoy many of them. Voice acting has come a long way since the wooden performances of older animes and games. That said, many of the boys, especially in the earlier chapters and content sound extremely flat. This goes double for the NPCs (who can be laughably bad). It's not even a matter of 'oh this person is just reading lines with no emotion' no the inflections in their voice are off- the context of what they're supposed to be emoting to can feel a million miles off base. I barely felt like they were in the scene with me. That said - this was likely a voice direction issue, because more recent content allows the boys to sound more relaxed and involved in the scene. Sylus' English VA knocks it out of the park in his performance though and I really appreciate how much he embraced that role. A lot of people could get embarrassed having to voice ASMR type content but he got fully immersed so 10/10 for that. I haven't tried any other languages apart from Japanese but c'mon, we know the Japanese VAs are like celebrities over there and will crush any role so no notes there except they're all great.

TLDR:

With all that said I do not hate the game, I really enjoy it! (I wouldn't have ranted so much here if I didn't care) I just wish certain aspects were tightened up more for storytelling purposes. It feels a bit jarring when some aspects of the game are SUPER polished but then easy mistakes are made. So I'd say if you're interested in playing - to just embrace the fluff and spicy fanservice. Treat it as your main meal as I do. If you end up enjoying the main story and combat then that's a bonus! I really hope this game continues to be successful because their recent content and chapter has been super intriguing - and in general its just nice to have an otome reach the spot of 3rd highest grossing mobile game during some months (below the giants like Genshin and HSR)

hello, do you know how many wish tones are needed for UR? i have 11175 and anxious for cecil/shion/masato's birthdays and hoping for christmas gacha like shining live.. i'd like to pull for eiichi now but i'm afraid to. do you know how many are needed for guarantee, if any? do i have enough/am i on track? i don't really understand this wish tone currency and pull rates.. could you please help me? thank you in advance so much!

To absolutely guarantee a UR, aka you have garbage luck and could not pull it at all, you need to pull 200 times, or 20 10-pulls. That will be 50,000 wish tones, and then you can buy the UR from its crown shop. But that is only if you have to use the crown pity system and only on limited banners. Hopefully you will pull the card you want sooner than that though.

You have 4 10-pulls currently. So I would absolutely continue saving up. The Eiichi gacha is not worth imo, none of the birthday ones are. It's just the standard pool of cards, with Rs guaranteed to be him, and his SRs and UR being boosted. And there's no pity system for those birthday banners. It's only luck, so you could spend way more than 50,000 if you have bad luck. Odds are, you will pull those cards naturally on other gachas at some point, so the general advice is to skip them unless you're spending money or really don't care to save up at all. Wait for Shion or Masato's SFM or any of the 3 of them to get a different limited UR.

The bad news is, events, getting S ranks and full combos, and reading stories just don't give as many tones as Shining Live gave prisms. Or in reality, they give about the exact same number, but tones are worth less as the pulls cost more. So we just can't pull as willy-nilly as we did in Shining Live. Gotta save for the boy/card you want.

In good news! They hopefully will change some of those rates? Maybe??? They did with the daily missions after all. And while Tokiya's event story didn't drop tones, Masato's did. So hopefully we'll see more there. ALSO, they've been quite generous with random login bonuses lately. For the end of the summer this week. For Moonshine last week. Various other reasons. So hopefully they'll keep that up.

We get 100 tones a day from daily missions, giving you a little over 1 10-pull per month. The normal login bonus is what, 100 every week as well? (I don't pay the best attention). And I've noticed some 500s occasionally as well from...something in between events. There's 500 separated into 50s along the points ladder for this current Session Live event. And we get 2 events per month. So 1000 there not counting any stories/tiering. So around 2 10-pulls per month with all of that? So without considering any extra login bonuses like we just had, tiering into higher levels, song playing, card stories, or anything else that can vary, it will take about 10 months to guarantee a limited UR. Assuming I did my math right. It likely won't take anyone that long because the random login bonuses they're giving out. But know it CAN take that long.

Roo State of Gaming:

Console: Finished FF7: Minigame Compilation. My opinions are mostly not positive, so I'll leave it at that. Started Paranormasight. Waiting for Siete release in Relink.

Gacha: Dropped Aether Gazer. Skipping Fire Tyr was the last straw, especially after I realized I just didn't care about most of the cast and thus most of the story. Hard to take characters and story seriously when it's all filtered through a more and more horny lens.

Slowed down with Onmyoji. Seems like a dead period after the conclusion of TKMGHR. I was hoping they'd go into the missing mysterious fourth clan they've been teasing in lore since forever, but the stories released so far have been very mid for me. Events are lackluster too. Still my main game, but I only log on once a day now for dailies...

GBF anniversary is over so back to mostly seasonal, though Light GW is coming up.

Still playing R1999. The events go on for long and updates are slow, so it's a good side game to slot in between the others. I really do love the characters in this game. I was a bit sad I couldn't roll for 37 cause she seemed so cute (her commentary when you turned in event currency for mats was so charming!), but my next 6* roll was a banner guarantee, and I wanted 6 more.

Life Makeover has taken up a lot of my attention, though I've finally reached the time gating for continuing the story that always happens with these type of games. Makes me sad cause I love how bonkers dressup game plots get. Otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with the community in the game, though it always feels awkward to find someone cooking in your kitchen... I'm not good at socializing, so I just stand there replying with emotes... orz Also, I can't get over the terrible dub, and why would you name one of the boys Larry? That is so deeply unsexy (Leisure Suit Larry...)... I think his original name is Lan Shu? the other guys are ok with their anglicized names, but fr why Larry

I'll probably look into Wuthering Waves and Duet Night Abyss when they release to see if they fill that action gap Aether left.

Another casual Movie Review!

Hello again, we got one of my main sources to my love for animated movies/shows today, Disney!

And we got their new movie, Wish!

First off, !!🟥SPOILERS🟥!!

I watched this at home and it released in Cinema so I can't count reviewing the animation because I only got the low quality cinema vid for now. Still tho, animations are great, so ye, I'm sure it gud UvU

But we're talking more about the story, characters, and other perks!

In my first watch, I was pretty chill, entertained, and unbothered... in most cases. Honestly, I was only feeling unbothered sometimes because of the expectations of people's critics all over Wish

In my second watch tho, I was pretty bored, yet still enjoyed it somehow, but anyway–

I give the movie ALONE a 7/10

The characters are great, the songs are gud to listen to while watching (This Wish is on loop in my head tho, that one's catchy), the comedy is gud too, story is gud too!

Yeah, guys! The movie is actually not bad!

...It's just not jaw dropping that is, y'know?

The movie is a little generic but also not??? I dunno

It kept me entertained, it's a gud movie for funzies, and it's especially not that triggering at least to me, it's just not that rewatchable y'know? Also had some trouble remembering some of the characters' names even

LIKE BRO! This is the ONLY part I'm triggered by the movie honestly, because it's MISSED potential! This potential didn't come from the movie itself, no! It's from the dumps!

Yourself and the officers from the search bloc accompanying you to Cartegena are listening in raptured silence to Peña as he and Carrillo tie the ends on a plan for once you have sights on Gacha. You can tell from Javi’s posture and movements that he’s excited about this lead and he’s corralling the search bloc team with his speech. Despite his cool, typical stance; hands splayed over his hips, legs wide, cocky head held high- he's twitching, tapping a finger against his belt which shows you he's nervous too. 

“Noonan wants him brought in alive, you hear me, Gacha is the next cog in the machine to take down that son of a bitch Escobar and I'll get all the info I can from him, let’s go!” Javi claps, indicating he is done and a few officers clap as they stand and head out of the conference room, gritty determination on their faces. 

Your heart bursts with pride for Javi. He's a natural leader whether he realises it or not, confident, and intrinsic and its easy to trust and respect him. You might have been a bit annoyed at him for not letting you man your own team, but following his command the past while, you easily accept he was right not to let you. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders but he's doing it with dignity and determination that you know you weren't ready for. Javi knew it even when you didn't, and that makes you prouder, glad you're the rookie under him. 

Standing at the back of the room, you're the last agent in there to leave besides Javi and Carrillo, and Javi waits for you at the front of the room. Reaching for the handle of the door that has closed after the other officers, Carrillo shifts and puts himself in front of it, halting Javi with a hand on his chest.

“Peña, I have to disagree with Noonan.”

“What?”

“I don’t give a shit if he’s dead or alive.”

Javi frowns, “But… We can bleed him for information once we bring-”

“I don’t care,” Carrillo interrupts. “These are my officers dying out there and i’m not losing any more out there today. I want him dead, no less than he deserves, do you understand me?”

Javi bites the inside of his cheek as he contemplates this request, and nods curtly. Carrillo looks round Javi at you, his eyes giving nothing away, and you nod quickly. 

Carrillo turns to leave, grabbing the handle but doesn't move to open it. 

"One more thing."

"Mm?" Javi grunts, jaw still ticking. 

"If I know you, I know you had planned on keeping Rookie with you," Carrillo turns slowly to face you. "But she's with me today. No argument. Can't afford to have your head anywhere else." 

Javi nods curtly, and you gulp, Carrillo sweeping out of the room like a gust of wind. 

Javi looks at you, jaw tense. You drop your gaze, shrugging.

You know how Javi feels about taking lives if he can help it, but it is Carrillo's mission at the end of the day and what he demands tends to be done. You move forward tentatively, cupping a hand around Javi's elbow. 

"It's OK, you'll do what you need to do. And I never expected you to have me under your wing today, I'll be Carrillo's rookie for a change."

"He didn't…" Javi's nose wrinkles and shakes his head lightly. "That's not…" 

Thinking about being under Carrillo for a change, you blurt your thoughts out before you get too embarrassed to withhold them, Javi's brows raised as he looks at you. 

"Thanks for everything you've taught me. I know we'll all be OK today; you've taught me skills I couldn't have learnt no matter how long I sat with my head in a book. I- I'm really honored to be on your detail." 

You blush and drop his elbow, fidgeting with the bottom of your shirt instead. Your gaze falls from his face and you wait for him to say something, when you feel his hand cup your cheek gently bringing your gaze back up to him. He looks pointedly at you, eyes peering out from under his loose fringe. 

"Cariño, I haven't taught you anything you didn't already know. You need to believe in yourself more, coz you already have everything in you to be the best." 

He drops his hand and simply watches you as you squirm under his praise. 

"Thanks," you mumble. 

"Estoy orgullosa de ti, Rookie. You've gone from strength to strength and it just shows, look at that bust last night." 

Your heart beats faster as your face breaks out into a grin, warmth surging through your chest at Javi's praise.

He was proud of you. 

It means alot being told that by someone of his position and you're so grateful he has been the one to guide you, the last few months being the best of your career to date. You've learnt so much, engaged in the field, been a part of an important mission and no matter what happens or where you end up you'll never forget Javi taking you through it. 

You want to take a mental picture of the way Javi is looking at you, brown eyes big and warm, dimple prominent as he flashes his cocky grin at you, proud of you. You want to cling on to this moment forever, because you know the work you do can break you, you've seen it in others, seen it in their faces and their eyes as they lose the light, blinded by the overwhelming emotions and exhaustion that comes with the job. Jesus, you've seen it in Javi too, the times when he's seemed distant and aloof, the man mentally and physically broken by the job and work undertaken to bring down Escobar. 

"I'm proud of you too," you whisper, and he smiles curiously at you. 

You leave the office and go and retrieve your gear, Javi waiting in the office as you head to the ammo locker as you get ready. He wanted to see you off as you left for Cartagena by getting a flight from the airfield with Carrillo's unit, before arriving by convoy, while he leaves with his unit in the policia helicopter soon after you leave. 

You walk out of the compound towards the trucks that would take you, Carrillo counting off officers as they hoist themselves into the trucks. He beckons for you and you stride forward purposefully, but you're stopped when Javi grabs your wrist. Turning, he envelopes you in a brief hug, squeezing you tightly before letting you go. 

"Be safe Rookie. Stay calm. You got this." He winks at you as he tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear and nods, almost like he's convincing himself that you got this. 

"I'd say the same but I know you do. See you on the other side." 

You turn, and see Carrillo's intrigued gaze carefully watching you, but says nothing as you pull yourself up and into the interior of the truck. 

You are on the sandy shores surrounding Gacha’s mansion, his men dotted about the trees holding weapons. Your detail on the north side of the island moving forward as a line, Carrillo one man over on your right. As an officer nears each henchman, they are taken out with muffled pistols, their bodies slumping to the sand, blood seeping across the white grains. It feels like your heart is in your throat, beating so loudly youre afraid you’ll give away your position to the men. As an officer three men down steps on a fallen branch and a crack rings out. You nearly jump out of your skin and swing your gun in the direction but catch yourself before you pull the trigger. 

Calm down. You know what you're doing. Just breathe. 

A henchman nearest the sound spins around, brown eyes widening as he takes in the sight of the search bloc line advancing. 

“Son de puta. Nos encontraron!” he screams, alerting the other guards securing the perimeter to your presence. Shots are fired from the men as word travels towards the house like whispers of your arrival, and at Carrillo’s gesture, you start to shoot as you see men. Bodies drop like stone as shots hit their target, and thankfully the men are caught so unaware that none of the opposing shots have found their targets yet. Thankfully you're also more prepared than these sicarios in your tact vests and have scopes on your weapons, while many of Gacha’s men are in loud, brash Hawaiian shirts, as if they were on holiday, with no protective gear clutching small handguns. 

As you approach the foot of the house, a number of men run from within, lining up along the side of the wall of the house, firing wildly, but as you are in the first line of duty, you’re now in the open, leaving behind the cover of the trees. Your body is so tense you feel like your arms and legs are vibrating from the adrenaline coursing through your veins. Still advancing, you step over a dead body in the sand, blood trickling in a steady stream from his chest, and you widen your step to try and avoid the pool of blood. Your foot squelches as it drives into the sand and you gulp, unsure if it's from the water you jumped into from the boats that brought you here, or the blood. Glancing up, you see two bodies drop over the edge of the wall, crunching sickeningly on the ground below, already dead before they hit the ground from bullets to the head. Carrillo signals to stop moving forwards, your aim better from your current position before you have advanced too far to see the targets over the wall and you ring out two more shots, causing another body to slump and drop over the wall. 

Just behind your target you see Gacha at the window, looking so out of place as he looks calmly down at the scene before him, while his guards scream and shout hysterically around him. His son Fredy is cowering at his shoulder, eyes darting about, clinging onto his father's shoulder, looking the complete opposite of the unnervingly stoic Gacha. Gacha shifts and pulls a huge rocket launcher to his shoulder, sun reflecting off the huge gun. He grins, beefy finger on the trigger and as you raise your gun to him and catch his eyes, black, cold calculating, and you swear he's looking right at you- through you- and then everything goes black. 

You're strapping your tact vest to your chest, checking and double checking your rifle as you strap it to yourself. You check your pistol too and once happy you have the safety on and every part assembled correctly, you turn to the safe to grab more ammo. When you turn to the door, Murphy is standing there blocking your exit. 

"Move Murphy," you huff at him. 

He doesn't move. You sigh, abandoning trying to pass and glare up at him. 

"Anything you'd like to get off your chest Murph?" 

"Have you worked it out yet?" 

"Worked what out? Move, I need to get Javi before I go." 

"Course you do," he smirks. "Be careful."

This is Murphy. It's a loaded statement for sure and you're just waiting on the trigger being pulled. 

"Right," you gruff, trying again to squeeze through the small gap between his broad shoulders and the doorframe. He shifts and holds his arm up to grab the doorframe, blocking you again. 

"I'm serious."

"So am I," you mutter. 

"You better be. And you better have his back out there."

"Of course I do," you snap. 

"If you do something stupid again, Javi is going to do something even stupider."

You squint at him, searching for meaning behind his words. 

"What the hell's that supposed to mean?" 

"You know full well if you get into trouble he'll try and help you again, even if you do something stupid, which I know you will. If 'weapongate' gets out, you're both going down for it. And that's on you." He points a finger into your chest. 

A blush creeps onto your face as memories of the Poison and Dionel road block incident cascade through your mind. You know you should have suffered the consequences but somehow you haven't.

"You don't think I'm not thinking about that every goddamn day? Thinking about how it could have gone so wrong? But that's what teammates do, Murphy; help each other out. Now help me out and get out-"

"You know it's more than that."

"Yeah, I'm still finding my feet and he's got my back. Like a good friend and agent should," you insist. 

Murphy puts the heels of his hands into his eye sockets and rocks on his feet, letting out an exasperated sigh. 

"God dammit Rookie, you are so fucking blind!" 

"The fuck I am-" 

"How do you define friendship, huh?" 

You rack your brain, confused by the direction of this conversation and genuinely don't know if that's a rhetorical question or not. You might not have had many friends since leaving college, focusing on work and getting ahead rather than keeping your college lifestyle going but you knew what friendship was, didn't you? You couldn't define it in a word or phrase for Murphy right now when your mind was swimming with the mission, but you knew it could be seen in the way you acted and treated others, respect and trust, and at the root of it all, if you liked spending time with them, and did so, surely they were a friend. That was how it was with Javi, and you guess even Murphy. You really enjoyed spending time with them and Javi especially. He listened to you, respected you, and you always laughed around him, comical in itself seeing how he always looked like a grumpy bastard. And he brought you contraband Butterfingers. Wouldn't do that if you weren't friends. 

"Well, I'll check the dictionary definition later for you, but we are friends. And I have his back."

Murphy shakes his head as he steps aside, sighing heavily. 

"Just promise me you got your shit together enough to look after him."

You don't have it in you to play his game right now, so you nod silently and race from the office.

You didn't quite catch what he muttered to himself as you stalked off, almost out of earshot now, but it sounded alot like, "Look after his heart." 

You sit upright slowly, head woozy. Placing your hands either side of you to keep you steady, you push up from the ground only to sink back down as your legs give way. Something is tugging at your left side, and you feel around the side of the tact vest to check for anything physical but find nothing. Your arms feel heavy and you look at them. It takes a second to focus, your eyes swimming. Your arms are covered in soot mixed with tiny flecks of blood from splinters of bark pricking your skin, sand gripping to you by sweat, and your eyes lock onto your hands, which are shaking uncontrollably. A pair of boots move quickly toward you and you raise your head carefully, blinking stupidly as the harsh sunlight blinds your sensitive eyes, acclimatising slowly to show you Carrillo standing above you. He is covered in a mixture of soot, sand and blood too, but he looks awful; a large gash on his temple, dark red blood stickily oozing down his face from the open wound. His mouth opens and closes, you think he's trying to say something to you, but there's no noise. His hazel eyes dart between yours and something over to your left, but from your position on the ground you can't see what he's looking at. 

It's only then you realize there's a high pitched ringing in your ears, blocking out all sound, and this realization floods your other senses. Your side screams in agony and you scrunch your face in pain as you reach again to where your tact vest meets your shirt, again noting nothing physical of concern other than delicate skin when you press. Carrillo holds his hands out to you and pulls you clumsily to your feet, pain shooting through you. He signals his thumb and index finger held together and you signal back that you're OK, guessing he must have been caught in the blast too, as he was right beside you when the rocket came in your direction. 

You gaze about, and notice body's of your own men scattered about, at least two around you, clearly dead, limbs bent at odd angles and pools of blood spilling out from jagged bullet holes. Your heart constricts and you feel woozy again, holding an arm out to keep yourself upright. Carrillo grabs you, sweaty hand steadying you as you breathe through the worst of the pain. When he's sure you're capable of holding yourself up, he bends to pick up a rifle and hands it to you, jerking his head over his shoulder and you stare, trying to piece together the scene. Gacha and Fredy are gone, as are the other guards besides the bodies that were left broken and bloody and empty. Carrillo's remaining men are lined behind you, alert and wary, awaiting orders. Your ears suddenly feel full, pressure building until sounds burst in, like water in a dam, too many sounds now, but all clear to you. 

Your heartbeat racing, gulls squalking, the waves crashing in the distance, gunfire on the south side, walkie talkies crackling, branches in trees creaking, and tires screeching on loose gravel. 

You gulp and force the bile in your throat back down, as you push away fear and doubt and pain too, knowing you have a task to focus on before anything else and turn to face Carrillo for instruction.

"Get me Peña, now!"
