#I can't remember how I found out about this

mine isn't directly politically related, but i am a disabled person with a lot of chronic health issues, which means my opportunities for activism are pretty limited because i can't get around by myself, even in a wheelchair.
but i do have a lot of medical appointments with a lot of different people. so i really focus my activism on that, and in teaching healthcare providers how to interact with a fat, disabled, queer person in ways that aren't completely toxic. admittedly, i generally interact with people who are already willing to listen, because i have to keep myself safe, but i still do it. i make a point to (subtly) dispel whatever stereotypes they may have and i am always careful to gently point the blame at inadequate systems in healthcare, rather than the provider or myself. i talk about things like weight-neutral care and health at every size, and i've gotten pretty good over the last few years in particular at identifying what's a good opening for that conversation. this directly helps me and others like me access better care. i've found tying it back to harmful insurance practices is often a great way in, because most providers already know how fucked insurance is in the US. and i also know i've made some providers think about stuff, and i even got one to take on a little bit of a different approach, at least with me, because of it. so maybe next time when they have a patient like me, they'll remember that and that person won't have go through all of the medical distress i have over the years.
it doesn't have to be volunteering for a specific organisation, it doesn't have to be directly politically-related, it doesn't have to be formal or something you can put on a resume or whatever else. changing hearts and minds requires positive interactions with people who have different life experiences from you, and there's nothing to say you might not learn some things from them, too.
in the end, one of the best anti-fascist movements you can participate in is interacting with someone in an in-group and reminding them that the out-group are human beings, not the monsters they're hearing about. activism doesn't have to be big and loud to matter.
Watching the politics tag fill up with exhausted liberals talking about how they're too drained to keep resisting and no one should blame them for that and like. Yeah, you're right this sucks and you shouldn't be forced to do it to be treated as human and you shouldn't need to be able to be on and in activist mode all the time either and ALSO
I've been doing this since 2002. My mother did this from 1981-2015. My auntie marched in Alabama during civil rights and my childhood minister has been in resistence since the Vietnam war and has shown no signs of stopping as she collects civil disobedience arrests across all 50 states like badges of honor.
And you all are burnt out after 8 yrs of some of the biggest (and therefore LEAST DEMANDING ON YALL PERSONALLY) movements we've ssen in decades because you feel too poor and tired???????
My mama would go around to every grocery store she had friends working at in the valley and collect all the food they were gonna toss, then host educational salons where she fed everyone in the neighborhood and performed innoculation work. She was a single mom raising a deeply disabled child ALONE on a salary half that of her male coworkers you think she had money? You think she had TIME????? NO!
If you are tired now, I'm sorry to be harsh, but it is BECAUSE YOU DID NOT LISTEN when you were told you needed to settle in for the long haul. You DID NOT LISTEN when organizers shared with everyone their practices around self-care, specialization, community care, and communication, and you spent the last 8 years burning the candle at both ends in person and online with no regard for the actual WORK only for your own fear and feelings of reassurance.
This will never sustain change. I'm sorry. I truly am. I never wanted this for anyone who came after me and I have so much grief that it's here. But I also do not have time to force yall to fucking listen to us when we talk.
Stop trying to assert that only the wealthy and energetic resist. Anyone I see doing so will be bitten repeatedly until fucking dead.

How long has it been? How long have you been suffering watching the boy you love is looking at her with the same gaze that was reserved for you once?....
What's even worse is he seems to think that the star tassel was gifted by her not you. This isn't what you expected when you died at his arms while watching the meteor shower with him.
This isn't what you expected when you became the queen of Philos. Sure you became the queen because you are the feeding source for the planet which was full of selfish people who sacrificed you for their own survival.
He is the only one who travelled through thousands of planets to find a cure instead of using you for survival. So, that man once you knew, who looked at you like you were his entire cosmos is giving the same look to her?
You should've eloped with him when he asked you 200 years ago. Like a fool you insisted on saving the planet and sacrificing your love knowing both of you will get hurt. You remember how he looked at you at the starfall forest when he offered you to elope with him.
"Y/n, during my exploration I found a beautiful planet full of flowers... It looked so ethereal, you'll definitely love it. I named it Uluru it will be our little planet, Maybe after your coronation shall we visit it together?"
He held your hands and squeezed it gently and waited for your answer. It pained his heart to see how tired you look sacrificing yourself for others. For once.. just for once he wanted you to look at him and smile at him forgetting all of your problems.
"Xavier, of course... I'll go wherever with you, I'll definitely come with you to visit the planet you've found.."
As much as you want to sound cheerful your soul and your body is both physically and mentally damaged because of the energy that was draining out of you by the planet. You caressed his cheek and smiled at him knowing that he will worry about your health.
Sighing to himself, xavier took both of your hands and placed it on his cheeks. "I... I don't want you to suffer anymore y/n.. let's run away to Uluru, the planet that I've been talking. You don't need to become the queen! You don't need to sacrifice yourself! Please... Just listen to me once.."
It pained your heart to see tears wells up in his eyes. You gently wiped his tears and placed your forehead on his and closed your eyes. "I can't Xavier.. you know they won't allow us to, after all my life is not in my hands.."
That was your last conversation before he left for another exploration. This time you knew your star won't come back. This time you knew you won't see him again. You looked at the sky watching the space shuttle which now looked so far from you.
You always read his messages which were recorded by him during his travels. You know something has happened to him when you can't reach his messages anymore.. something terrible must have happened to him that your heart told you.
Strolling through the starfall forest, you sat by a nearby lake watching the swans swimming around beautifully. Oh, how you wish Xavier is sitting beside you, how much it will calm your heart to hold him again?
That's when you noticed another presence behind you. It was eerie. Standing up you look around anything suspicious but nothing catches your eye. You constantly felt like someone was watching you. Telling yourself that it was just a imagination you continue to walk through the forest. The starfall forest, which is the symbol of serene is now giving you a presence of danger.
That's when you heard the sound of footsteps which was coming towards you. Glancing around to see if anyone has been following you but there was none. Not a single soul. Suddenly you feel that presence right behind you. But before you can react that figure grabbed both of your hands pinned you on the tree.
It was someone you never saw in your life. He was taller than you, his eyes looked so cold and his smile looked sinister. "My, my never thought the sacrifice is this beautiful.." You tried to hit his leg but he dodged that and looked at you. It was enough to give you chills throughout your body.
"w-who are you!? You don't look like someone who lives at Philos! Tell me who are you at this instant!" The man scoffed and let go of your hands, he raised his in a surrender way and spoke to you in a mocking voice. "Me? I'm surprised the queen of Philos don't recognise their diety."
Diety? Ah.... this sly bastard is Astra. How can you forget that? Pale face, eyes that never see forgive anyone if someone betrays him, heart that is not suitable for love. You can say a devil in disguise. He is the forgotten diety of Philos. Back when earth existed Astra was the diety of time. But after earth's been destroyed he became forgotten.
He took a step back and looked at you with a sinister smile. "I'm sad.. you're too good to be a sacrifice. But you do realise that Philos will die soon right? That means everyone, every single being created in Philos will eventually die. Even if they travelled through different universe or time travelled. Ah! You understood who I'm talking about right?"
That's when your brain strikes. You do know that even if you fed the planet all of your life it eventually die because it needs so much energy that you can't give. But those foolish people don't know that. They thought that once the queen became the sacrifice they are safe. But no. Philos will die soon and everyone within it perish too. It includes Xavier too....
"Since your love looks too pure, I'll give you a chance to save him." At that moment you knew you're going to make a choice that'll make you regret. But, love makes us blind. Doesn't it?. Mustering up your courage you looked at Astra. "I'll do anything to save what's mine."
"bravo! I knew you'll agree! I'll save him by not erasing his existence when Philos gets perish. Currently he is at earth because his spaceship was destroyed. But the price is, he'll forget you. He'll forget your love, your existence, your voice, the love you two shared up until now."
Ah... he'll forget you? That's the crulest thing that could happen. Can you live knowing that he'll forget you? Your entire existence? No you can't. You definitely can't. But inorder to save him, you'll sacrifice anything. Even you.
"I agree."
He looked at you trying to read your expression. "Fine. Let's see how it will go."
During Philos's end you happily died that you'll see your beloved again. Your star. You hugged youself tightly and died within Philos. What a tragedy...
How can you be happy?
You don't deserve to be happy..
You need to suffer.
Suffer. Suffer. Suffer!!!.
It pained your heart to see him with her...
Who is she? She is someone who don't deserve your hate? You thought she's a innocent soul? Poor you.. how naive you are...
Let me tell you Y/n, everyone have two sides. The girl who stole what's yours is your biggest fear. Who is she?
Even if he looks at you, she somehow makes him forget you with her innocent smile. She's a trouble in paradise isn't she? More like.. devil in disguise? Feels similar to Astra?
Astra's sister. The one who destroys love.
But what is it this red thread on your hand? It looks like.. soulmate thread.. oh! That jerk, Astra knew you two are soulmates! That's why he played this game!!
Now you got reborn at linkon. Watching your love slowly forgetting you...
"I love you y/n.. please don't leave me.."

JL asks Marvel to show them his cool magic cave where he lives, and he thinks, "I can't take them to the rock of eternity… well, I can take them to a random cave that has never been explored" :D
And he kind of decorates a cave he finds around the world, but when he goes to open the portal, he gives them a bunch of masks.
Marvel: Oh, yeah, so the air there is super poorly ventilated, there are also toxic gases and there are a lot of pores and dirt flying around…
And he also feels the need to add: Oh, and if you want to drink something, drink it now. Down there there is only stagnant, still water and I'm pretty sure that, in addition to the 10 types of parasites and diseases already found by man, there are also about 30 that were born there and, fortunately, still have no way out… Don't. Touch. The. Water.
And he looked intensely at Aquaman.
Marvel: Actually, in general, don't touch anything. After this visit, I'll use a magic spell to disinfect all of you and your clothes to make sure whatever stuck to your skin dies and doesn't spread to the world, but you know, let's still be safe :D
Flash, who was super excited to visit Marvel's super magical and cool cave 5 minutes ago: Guys… I just remembered I have to take care of the kids today… bye.
In the end, Batman is the only one who goes, and he wears a full custom suit for this kind of situation. He doesn't pick any samples because, yeah, it's better if all that stuff stays there… Forever…
Oh, and he also offers to rent a place to Marvel and almost begs him to never step foot in that cave again, and talks about how it's super dangerous because it could release those undiscovered diseases and parasites to humans and Marvel kind of thinks "yeah… oki doki, I'm not coming here anymore! I promise. Anyway, I have other caves to put my stuff in" and that's how Batman MAKES Marvel show him other unexplored caves like this and it just gets worse and worse.
At some point Alfred asks him to stop because Batman has been without sleep for almost a whole week, making containment plans in case this stuff gets leaked to humanity or if Marvel turns evil or maybe if someone else finds it or or or, you know, if they could use it as a weapon or a cure for it. kind of thing. hes going crazy, WHERE DOES MARVEL FIND SO MANY UNEXPLORED CAVES FULL OF BIOLOGICAL DANGERS?!

His brown eyes; Park Sunghoon
SYNOPSIS ➺ You no longer recognize Sunghoon’s eyes. They used to be full of love, and now, are empty and numb. In the forest with him you soon find out why they have changed so much.
REQUEST ➺ For this sweet girl @semi-wife! Her bundle was: Lapis Lazuli (Sunghoon). The devil (Cursed bond). Moon water + clove (Vampire). Dark romance. “I’d burn the world to have you.”. “Your soul was never yours to begin with.”
WARNINGS ➺ blood; death; very angsty because I got carried away; cursed bond;
Check out "Enchanted Corner" to see the original post with the rules to make a request yourself!
You stand tall in front of your lover, eyes locked with his, though you can’t seem to recognize him anymore. Sunghoon’s eyes are the same dark brown that you’re used to, but something is missing. Behind those beautiful irises that you love so much, there is nothing. They look empty and soulless, like he isn't capable of feeling anything.
The full moon is bright and glistening, reflecting its blueish glow down on the dense woods where you two are. The noise is all around you, in the wind brushing against the leaves, the cicadas, and the owls. All these sounds are loud and deafening as you face Sunghoon in silence.
“I never knew it would come to this…” he started, his voice failing him.
You have never seen him like this, hesitant and afraid. His gaze avoids yours as he speaks, as if he's trying to make it easier for himself.
Inside, guilt is destroying him. Now he knows why you and he are cursed. And he also knows what he has to do to stop the curse, and it makes him sick to his stomach. Sunghoon recognizes it won't be easy, but he also understands that it’s what must happen so he can love you in peace.
“What are you talking about?” you inquire, confused. Your skin shivers as the icy breeze brushes against your bare arms.
“The curse,” he begins again, eventually looking into your face. “You and I are cursed because of your past life. A life where you left a powerful vampire behind to be with me. You don’t remember, but I do. You left the wedding ceremony and came back to me. And when we were planning to run away together, he found us and killed you with an arrow. But it wasn't just an arrow! He asked a shaman to curse it.”
The vampire’s words hit you like a punch in the stomach. You don’t want to believe any of it, but your body seems to recognize his truth, because all of a sudden, it feels hard to breathe. Your throat knots, suffocating you, as if you weren’t supposed to know any of this.
“Sunghoon…” you whisper, voice low. “That can't be true—”
“I watched you die so many times. First, by an arrow. Then, you had a terminal disease. And now, only fate knows what will happen to you if we don’t break this curse.”
He speaks slowly, but he feels as though he is going to explode. It isn’t easy to meet you over and over again, to fall in love all those times, and then watch you die before he can make you his. And it kills him.
“How can we break it?” you ask, stepping closer, needing to feel his cold skin against yours to soothe your nerves.
“I have to kill you.”
The way he said it, so calmly and without hesitation, sends a shiver down your spine. You gasp, tears forming in your eyes. The step you took forward is followed by two steps back. He doesn’t dare to look at you as his words hang in the air like a promise.
“Sunghoon…” you manage, heart pounding in your chest.
“I’d burn the world to have you, you know that,” he explains, reaching out and cupping your face. “But your soul was never yours to begin with.”
You stay silent, unwilling to believe what he’s saying. This is madness. There’s no way you’ve lived this many lives, and there’s no way that Sunghoon killing you is the only solution to end the curse. It was already hard enough to accept that he was a vampire, now this?
Frustrated and overwhelmed, you take another step back. Tears roll freely down your cheeks as you feel his hand slide off your face slowly, leaving a cold mark behind.
“I won’t let you kill me. That can't be the only way. I refuse to—”
Before you can finish, your vampire lover is already behind you, his strong arms wrapped tightly around your waist and his breath close to your neck. Sunghoon can feel your heart pulsing beneath his grip, and it almost makes him regret what he’s about to do.
“I’m sorry, YN… I will look for you in your next life.”
With that, he kisses your neck sweetly and plunges a blade into your heart. You gasp, stunned. Blood begins to pool inside your chest, overflowing everywhere around you. Some rises in your throat, and when you cough, it splatters across his pale face.
The only way he could break the curse was to have you bleed into his hands, so he holds you in his arms a little longer, feeling life slowly drain from your body. After you grow heavier and limp, he gently lays you down in the tall grass.
His dark eyes brim with tears, his face stained crimson, his hands soaked in your blood. Sunghoon feels like he’s being strangled; his throat tightens and burns with every breath he takes.
He knew you would never accept dying. He knew you would try to escape and find another way. But this was the only way. You had to die in this life to be free in the next. He had to let you bleed, so he could love you afterward.
And maybe that’s why his eyes looked so hollow and numb earlier today... because he knew you were sentenced to death the moment you met him.

Part 4
Danny took to the Spanish Language like a fish to water, learning it's most basic form in three days, and every little nuance about it in another four.
Alejandro had been kind enough to let him stay with them and their family for the week. They were very accommodating and understanding as he learned their language and culture. He enjoyed trading knowledge with them, and he hoped they did, too.
He messaged Jazz every morning and every night. Long messages about what he did during the day. Just before lights out, he spent an hour or so going into more depth in his journal, going so far as to draw pictures from memory so that he wouldn't forget.
Alejandro's little sister, Maria, helped him with his art. She was amazing at it and he was honored to be taught by her.
Their father, Antonio, taught him about their food culture, teach him how to cook simple meals. He'd even been allowed to help with making lunch on days four and five!
Their grandmother, Abuela Maya, taught him their myths and stories, about how to stay safe and what to look out for. He didn't tell any of them, but he was pretty sure she clocked his ghostlyness the second she laid eyes on him.
Danny was getting anxious, staying in one place for so long, and he knew Alejandro and their family were picking up on it. He wanted to stay, but the feeling of being watched was starting to creep up on him.
Outside and down the street a little at the playground is where Alejandro found him.
"It's been fun having you here, Danny," they said.
"I've had fun staying here."
"But you're anxious to leave."
He paused. He didn't want to offend, but, "Yeah."
"Lo entiendo. A guy like you has a hard time staying still." They leaned back, laying on the grass with their hands behind their head like a pillow. A sigh. "I wish I could go with you."
Danny laid down, too. "Me, too."
"But I can't."
"I know." He had a feeling this was going to be a recurring theme.
Alejandro continued as though he hadn't spoken. Almost seeming to talk themself out of leaving with him, reasoning against leaving. "I have to stay to help take care of Abuela Maya and Maria. Papá es getting sick; he refuses to stay down, ¿sabes? Won't listen to his body, to his kids." A beat. Two. "Mamá died the same way, when Maria was four. She doesn't remember her, but I do. I miss her."
Danny didn't have words of comfort to share with his friend. What was there to say that hadn't already been said.
Alejandro chuckled humorlessly. "Sorry for dumping that on you."
"It's okay." And it was. Danny understood the need to say something. "My sister's been studying psychology since before I can remember. She says that talking is healthy."
"You have a ¿hermana?"
"Yeah. Su nombre es Jazz. She's the smartest person I know."
"Smarter than me?"
The humor was back. "Smarter than Abuela Maya."
Alejandro gasped in fake indignation. "You don't mean that!"
Danny shook his head. "I do."
They clicked their tongue. "Now I have to meet her. She gonna meet you somewhere so you can travel together?"
Danny shook his head with a small smile. "Can't. Circumstances won't let me go back, nor will they let her join me."
"Lo siento, man, that must be rough."
He shrugged. "Nothing either of us can do about it."
"Do you mind if I ask what's what?"
Danny paused. There couldn't be a lot of harm in telling Alejandro at least a little bit, right? But then, he hadn't even contacted Tucker or Sam yet, having muted their conversations for the time being until he worked up the courage to call them.
He sighed. "There's a secret I've been hiding from my parents for a bout a year now. And because of what's been happening state-side, it's not safe for me there anymore."
Alejandro was quiet for a long minute. "At least you have your sister."
"Yeah. At least I have her."
The two lapsed back into a comfortable quiet, watching the clouds until the sun hovered right over them and they had to look away.
"What's your plan now?"
Danny thought for a minute. What was his plan? He could probably meet with Dani somewhere for a bit before they ultimately parted ways again. She was still in Guatemala, according to her last message, and would be staying the week before moving on. They'd have to plan soon if they wanted to meet up.
"A cousin of mine," he said, "is in Guatemala right now, so I'll probably head her way."
"Maldita sea, your family must be rollin' in it to b able to travel so much!"
He looked away, bashful. "Not really. Jazz gave me what she had so I could leave the country, but that won't last, and my cousin won't accept any money she doesn't earn on her own. Not even the child support!"
"Your cousin has a child? And she's traveling with it?"
"No, I'm- she is the child."
"Then why is she getting child support if she's the child?"
"It's being sent to me, legally, but I put it all in an account for her to access when she wants or needs it."
The air turned heavy for a moment. Between one breath and the next, it was light again. "It's good that you guys have a good relationship. How old is she?"
"Yeah. She's a few years younger than me."
"Oh," was the stilted response.
Danny didn't like the heaviness the silence had taken again. "You ever seen a superhero?"
"Like the ones on T.V?"
"Yeah,"
"Not in person, no. But I've always wondered what it'd be like to meet one. Or, hell, even be one."
Danny had to scoff. "It's not all it's cracked up to be."
"You ever meet any?"
"No."
"Hm." A beat. Two. Three. "You should head down to Linares next. It's where Abuela Maya's from."
"Really?"
"Yeah. You might find some of the answers you're looking for there."
Danny thought about it for a moment. "Okay. Sounds like a plan."
"Good. No give me your phone number so that we can keep in touch."
"What?"
"I can't leave, but I'm not gonna miss out on the world because of that. I want pictures and messages and-" They cut off and pulled Danny into a hug. "You're the closest friend I've had in a while, 'nny. Don't forget about me, okay?"
The hug was awkward, laying down as they were, but he wrapped his arms around them all the same. "I wouldn't dream of it, 'dro."

Stan was a victim of domestic violence.
His parents were never really the role model for what a healthy relationship should look like. His father was distant and the soft touches and expressions his mother gave him were never reciprocated. He doesn't remember his parents saying "I love you" to eachother. But that came with the price of also not knowing what a toxic relationship looks like. He also grew up with the "men can't get abused" mindset (come on people, he grew up in the fucking 60's-70's).
So it was only a matter of time before he met Jimmy Snakes. He was young and stupid, somewhere in his early 20's. He hadn't even met Rico yet, when he met Jimmy who offered him money to sleep with him one night, then a place in his biker gang, which quickly led in them getting together and Stan staying in Jimmy's house. Stan thought he somehow found someone who actually loved him. I mean, why would he want him staying in his house? He thought he had a loving, older boyfriend, who cared about him.
Well, he was wrong.
He didn't notice. Or, actually, no, he did notice. He just tried to ignore it. He tried to ignore the way Jimmy talked about him with the other people in the gang, sometimes calling him a "boy toy" in a way that made Stan's stomach twist weirdly. He tried to ignore how Jimmy's touch made him uncomfortable, tried to ignore the twitch his eye gave and clenched jaw when he bent over to take the bread out of the oven and Jimmy would smack his ass. Tried to ignore the blackmailing Jimmy would give him when he didn't want to have sex. "Oh you don't love me anymore? After everything I've done for you, you ungrateful whore?!" He tried to ignore how when this would happen, there would be times where Jimmy would get physical with him, slap his face and/or grab him by the collar and insult him in the face. How Jimmy would do worse things if he opened his mouth. He tried to ignore how Jimmy didn't want him to go outside without his supervision and joking about how he would run away.
He had become a housewife in the worst way possible. And he had nowhere to go.
And when he finally found the courage to escape and Jimmy chased him down to try and drag his soul down to Hell, he didn't ignore that. He was done with ignoring that shit. After that, he tried to suppress those memories, to forget them. But they were always there. The voice in the back of his mind making fun of him for not knowing what all of that stuff meant.
Years passed. He finally had all three journals. He opened journal 3 to find the stuff about the portal. He did, but he also found stuff about this triangle demon. Crossed out praises for said demon, warnings about him, all the things he did to Ford. Some of these fell a little too close to home.
Oh.

You remember meeting your husband. It was a summer internship you had been accepted for. And your husband to be was your boss. You made so many mistakes at first. He was so patient and corrected you. Again and again. But the third time you made the same mistake, he lost his temper.
You found yourself over his lap. Even with your dress down and panties covering, it hurt. But being over an older man's lap, getting a spanking you deserved had you wet. Over the weekend you replayed the memory over and over again while masterbating.
The following Monday, he apologized, pointing how you could get ahold of HR. You just smiled and said you deserved it. The spankings continued. And your masterbation became more frequent.
As your masterbation increased, the hem lengths of your skirts went up. You were being a little cock tease and you knew it. Flashing your panties or lack of them.
One day, you were called into his office. "There are multiple complaints to HR about your attire." His hand grabbing your wrists before he slaps you. "You work for me. Your appearance and behavior reflect on me. Didn't you have a father to teach you how to behave?"
Anger coloring his face. "Do you think you are the first silly little girl who thinks being a cocktease will get her promoted? Maybe you should learn what happens to whores like you."
Your flimsy panties torn away. His hand covering your mouth as you can hear the rest of the office working. Pinned to the wall as he raped you. "Did you just cum from being raped?" He snarled into your ear. And you had.
When he finished, he looked at you with disgusting. "Go home and tomorrow come back not looking Iike a whore."
You rubbed yourself raw that afternoon. Replaying every detail. The smell of his colonge and skin. How helpless you felt. The satisfaction of getting a man off. How even raping you, he was better than your fumbling boyfriend.
The next day, you went into his office. In a much more modest outfit. As wonderful as getting what you deserved had been, disappointing him seemed like a fate worse than he'll.
"Sign this. It's your resignation letter. It's clear you need a man with a firm hand taking care of you. And I can't date subordinates. So you need to quit. Be ready for me to pick you up at eight. Wear something dressy. I am taking you somewhere nice."
And he did. Not long after, you dropped out of college. Now you are a happy housewife.

Mark misses you so much ):
Vanessa did not do an oopsy at the end <3
Mark felt the world beneath him crumbled in an instant.
Nobody blamed him for what happened, no one yelled at him for something he couldn't control. Yet, he skimmed through the what ifs in his head. Haunting him ever since he saw you in that state.
What if he stayed with you?
What if he never rode on that bus alone?
What if he offered to wait for you after class?
Then maybe, just maybe, all of this would have been prevented. You wouldn't be hurt, you wouldn't be unconscious in that hospital bed with all those bandages wrapped around you while he drowned in the noise of your fathers endless sobs in the hallway leading to the operation room.
He was your best friend, why wasn't he there when you needed him the most? He can't recall what he was even doing prior to the call.
Mark left the hospital utterly wrecked, dragged away by his parents telling them he didn't want to leave your side until you opened your eyes. Apologizing that he wasn't there for you, Nolan had to physically restrain him as he sat him down at the back of the car.
Mark turned over and sat up from his bed. He looked out his window to stare into your room. It was dark, eerily so, gone were the lights coming from your television that he had was used to seeing. He noticed that your window was slightly ajar and he moved.
He knew it was wrong to suddenly jump in your room without your permission, he knows it was even more wrong when he laid in your bed, tightly holding onto your heavy blankets and pillows closer to him. Inhaling the lingering scent you had on them, he found himself sinking further in the sheets where your musk was stronger.
Instantly he felt calmer, he felt safe, like you were in the same room with him. Mark found comfort in your smell, finding himself falling asleep, imagining you were next to him with your arms wrapped around him in a tight embrace.
Mark felt utterly hopeless as he longed for you. Wanting and needing you at the same time. The plant in his chest blossomed uncontrollably and he mourned for your absence to end. To come back to him and hold him like you never want to let him go.
How strange, he thinks, it felt like the seed have already been planted in his heart so long ago.
Mark fell asleep surrounded by the smell of you.
"I miss you (nickname)..."
-
It was the next day. Mark was completely out of it, he dazed off more ever since your absence and William was beginning to think his entire world just fell apart- actually it might have.
You and Mark never did stray far from the other. Taking slow steps when one of you lags behind, PE was horrendous when you three got in back in 6th grade, you two could not be separated, even if different teams you both we're insufferable.
Now William would be lying if he said he wasn't mad. Not at Mark, rather at Rebecca. He had always hated White and her cronies since they were kids. She might not remember it but he absolutely does.
Rebecca was originally Williams bully.
She made fun of him for playing dolls when he minded his business with some girls playing make believe house. However that switched when both you and Mark transferred. You stood up to Rebecca and told her to buzz off only for her to push you down on the sand, before being dragged away by the calls of her mother and getting on in those fancy ass cars you see in movies.
Instead of dusting off the grime that got on your clothes, you turned to him and smiled. Continuing like nothing ever happened and you never let her near him again. Mark becoming a second wall to protect him.
He was friends with the two of you ever since then. Forever thankful for your act of kindness.
And he wasn't going to lie, he was beyond pissed off to what happened to you when he got word of it from a mutual friend of a friend.
So imagine everyone's horror when he, who stood by in the sidelines for so long, threw his entire lunch tray at her face.
He wasn't apologic about it either.
"Girl," He eyed her up and down in judgement he didn't just started a war, "That outfit? Suits you, not even lying."
Rebecca stunned for a moment shot up from her seat and only ended up tripping on her feet when her foot caught on the edge of the seat.
He snickered, he places his hand over his mouth before he pretends to be concern.
"Oh my god, is the floor okay? You didn't harm it when you fell right?"
"You!" Rebecca hissed.
"What the hell! Do you know how expensive this shirt is!"
William rolled his eyes crossing his arms while she picked herself back up.
"Honestly, I think i just made the outfit a lot prettier. Your shirt? eyesore material, do you even have a fashion sense?"
If Mark wasn't paying attention, he was now.
One moment he was dozing off with a spoon in hand, poking at the mash potatoes while he thinks of you and if you had woken up by now, the next he stood between William and Rebecca, holding him back as they went a full on brawl at the cafeteria.
"I know you did it, you dumb bitch! You sent her to the hospital because of your jealousy! You hurt my best friend!" William screamed and Mark shakes his head, even if it is true, William shouldn't be acting this way- if what he reasons in his head.
Mark definitely wanted to smack her or two in the face the more he looks at her.
"Get off me!" Rebecca struggles at some guys that helped to break up the fight.
"This is not over, Clockwell!"
"Fuck you and your green eyed monster!"
"William, calm down-"
Needless to say both William and Rebecca was sent to the office after.
Mark waited by the stairs in front of the school entrance, missing the way you called to him at the end of the day. God, he felt miserable and out of it. He had dozed off so much that he hadn't realized class ended and he sat there like an idiot waiting for something to happen.
if only he had stayed with you, offering to wait so you both can just walk back home instead he lets you be, and he felt he was at fault whenever he recalls waving at you from the window with William.
He had watched you walk back in.
And watched you come out on a stretcher and into an ambulance.
"Fuck Rebecca and her rich ass parents."
Vanessa and William came back out.
Despite everything that happened. Your mother offered to be William's guardian since they couldn't go because of strict job stuff Mark wasn't interested in.
William, with cuts and bruises on his face, grumbles something incoherent and Vanessa took Mark and him to the car. Mark noticed that something in your mother's attitude seem to shift compared to when she arrived, it wasn't noticeable since it was quite subtle, but Mark caught the way she seems almost too, happy? like she can't wait to go home.
Mark shakes it off. Probably nothing and forgot about it.
"How was the meeting?" Mark questions.
"Ugh, Rebecca keeps spinning the story saying, i swung at her first, like? I didn't! She attacked me first with those, ugh, long talons of hers- and btw i'll admit, her nails are pretty." William rambled on and on about what happened in the meeting.
Rebecca's mom turned up instead of her father. Comparing both interactions between the two, it was clear Rebecca adores her mom more than her dad.
"Her mom keeps denying what she did, you know? Like I'll be honest, i wanted to slap her too." William whispers the last part to Mark's ear.
William had boldly claim that Rebecca and her cronies are the ones who put you in the hospital not even a nano second of the meeting starting. Vanessa was wide eyed when he said it but composed herself as she listen in.
"You children alright back there? Just so you know William, your house is not far." Vanessa's accent made both boys realized how quiet they've become, exchanging whispers as if they're planning on a heist.
"Oh yeah, thanks Mrs. Aguilar. By the way, i heard from Mark that (Name) was moved into this super strict and expensive private hospital and i was wondering if i could drop by?"
Vanessa thought about it, tapping the stirring wheel looking eyeing William in the mirror. Mark already knew the answer but kept his mouth shut.
You we're moved to the pentagon for better treatment last night when he was asleep in your room, thankfully he managed to wake himself up and sneaks himself back into his room before anyone noticed, his mom said they couldn't just go there to visit you since they needed permission or his dad to fly them over there.
The only time he's ever going to visit is when you move back to a more normal hospital.
"No."
"Oh, come on! I'll make sure she ace her math exams when she gets back! Promise!"
Vanessa actually thought about it.
"... Tempting, a good bargain, but it is still a no."
"Aw come on!"
-
A deal with Cecil means selling your life to the devil himself.
Vanessa knows the risk, knew what she signed up for when she struck that deal with Cecil on the phone. She wasn't blind nor deaf, he's been wanting her to be a weapon ever since her father's demise.
The details of their agreement sealed away in a box forever inked in her name.
In exchanged for everything she needed, she had sign the rights for her life, her powers belong to the GDA now, used for whatever he deems it fit to use.
A card is what she is.
Not an wildcard, no, never an wildcard, she was too stubborn to be one, Cecil would risk everything is she was the wildcard in Cecil's plan against the common foe. Too predictable, too infamous.
They need someone quiet, someone who didn't bring attention whenever they walk in the room- all these useless thoughts ceased when they made a moved.
She spot a car leaving the mansion. Where are they travelling to so late in the night?
A couple at the front. Sadly no child sitting on the back. They seem to be arguing as they drive.
Shame that their daughter didn't join.
Vanessa thinks old habits die, she shouldn't be this excited for this and should be reconsidering her actions, yet here she was grinning in sadistic pleasure of the idea that pops into her head. If she wanted to make the kid to pay, she'll have to pay in a way that'll hurt them back, ten-fucking-fold.
Rebecca loves her parents, right?
As for Cecil? He lets it, just as long as it was only the target she ended tonight is the one the government wants gone.
Two bird with one stone. He says when he gave her the green light.
Who knew the biggest runaway drug boss lived in their neighborhood? Color her surprise when a hit for his head was presented to her and served in a silver platter. No excuse and just do it, nice and clean.
And while she trail after the car, she waits for the opportunity to flip it over and drown them on the river.
Just the dad, Stedman instructed, but the mother should go to, right?
After all according to her files and what she saw in the meeting earlier when she took the opportunity to find the culprits,
Rebecca loves her dear old mom,
oh,
so,
much.
-
Note: Williams hands are rated E for Everyone. I don't usually pay much attention to anyone's mannerism other than the events that's happening in the series, so yeah, ooc characters <3 mostly head canons in my head. All i know is William is pretty funny and quite sharp with his tongue so i tried???? to base off his entire character from that. dunno if i even got that right
idk man, im just delusional as hell

One of the themes in RWBY is about the current generation being failed by the previous one. We see it a lot with the mess that is the Xiao Long-Rose-Branwen family.
Every single member of Team STRQ failed Yang and Ruby, to a greater and/or lesser extent.
(read more cut because this gets long, although I make no promises that I'll cover everything, and please forgive any typos, I'm very tired)
Raven abandoned her daughter and her husband (yes, husband, according to 'The World of RWBY' book by Daniel Wallace, written with input from CRWBY), and the rest of her team. Yang wasn't old enough to remember her, and may well have still been a baby at the time. The reason why seems to have been for Raven to take the leadership of the Branwen tribe of bandits, although I think it was more complicated than that, which would fit with Raven being such a complicated woman.
Summer. Yang's super-mom. The mother who stepped up. I deeply respect that. She had the best of intentions when she left on that super secret mission with Raven, presumably to confront Salem. To protect her family, and hopefully so she'd never need to leave them again. Unfortunately good intentions pave the road to hell, and she ended up never going home to her girls. That truly tore the family apart, and it never really recovered. Yang's abandonment issues aren't only from Raven leaving, and a lot of Ruby's issues come from trying to live up to the memory of Summer while being held to impossible standards.
Tai didn't react well to the loss of Summer. To quote Yang: he shut down. Yang had to pick up the pieces and keep things together. Alone. Because Tai was always busy with school, and Ruby couldn't talk yet. It's striking that Yang refers to her dad by name in Alone Together when talking to Weiss about it. Most kids don't do that when referring to their parents. Your mileage may vary about what that means, but to me it sounds a lot like resentment. Don't get me wrong, Yang loves her dad. But it's entirely possible to feel both love and resentment.
I do empathise with Tai. I'm all too familiar with grief and loss and depression. I'm sure he did his best, and as far as we know he did keep his kids fed and clothed, and gave them treats from time to time like the boba tea mentioned in the RWBY Beyond episode. But the fact remains that Yang ended up doing more to raise Ruby than she ever should have or would have if at least one of her mothers had stayed. Yang had no reason to lie to Weiss about that.
And Tai definitely failed his daughters. Even without anything else, there's the incident when Yang and Ruby were left alone when clearly too young to be unattended, and Yang went in search of Raven, with Ruby pulled in a wagon. That they weren't devoured by Grimm is thanks to Qrow, and possibly Raven for getting Qrow there, because I don't know how else he found them in time besides good luck for once (or very bad luck for the Grimm).
Does that mean Raven might have given Yang more than one save, or wriggled out of her rule about that by getting Qrow to do the saving? Does she secretly have a bond with Ruby, and that was Ruby's save? Whatever the case, Raven failed them too, because Yang wouldn't have been looking for her if she hadn't needed a mother, and Raven was well aware she no longer had one.
I do think it quite likely that by this point Raven had become the Spring Maiden, so might not have felt able to return even if she wanted to - it would have risked endangering the girls if someone learned Raven was a Maiden and tried to take the power for themselves.
Did that near disaster give Tai a wake up call? Did Yang only raise Ruby until then? We don't know for sure, but as someone raised by a single mother for a while, I can tell you that single parents can't work and raise children without help. There doesn't seem to be any extended family around to have done so, probably all killed by Grimm in the dangerous world that is Remnant... Plus there's Ruby's words to Yang when they're reunited in Volume 9: "If you thought we wouldn’t come for you, then you must’ve forgotten who raised me." I really don't think Ruby is referring to Tai there. Especially with referring to just herself and not both Yang and herself with 'who raised me.'
Childcare exists in Remnant, at least in Argus (there's a mention of needing to collect Jaune's nephew from childcare in Volume 6). I can't imagine it's unheard of in Patch. Yet Tai doesn't seem to have used it. To be clear, if any of the rest of Team STRQ had been left as a single parent they'd have needed help with childcare too, you can't both work and raise children at the same time. That goes for Summer too, even super-mom would need help. Maybe Tai's teaching job didn't pay well enough for him to afford it. Maybe he feared reaching out for help would mean losing his daughters, and I have no doubt that he loves them, and not just because they're all he has left of their mothers.
The way Tai talks to Yang during her training session in Volume 4 does make me wonder if he associates her far too closely with Raven, because while there are similarities Yang is very much her own person and also influenced by Summer far more than by Raven. We don't see him interact much with Ruby, but I wouldn't be surprised if he similarly associates her too much with Summer.
It doesn't help that Yang and Ruby so closely resemble their mothers - and they do, despite Yang's hair and eyes being different to Raven's, apart from when her eyes turn red. That must've given Tai quite a shock the first time it happened... Anyway, my point is that Raven is like a dark reflection of Yang. Or Yang a bright reflection of Raven, I'm not sure which. The physical resemblance of mothers and daughters can't have helped Tai with constant reminders of them, especially as they grew older and the resemblance more striking.
Qrow... I'm sure Drunkle Qrow did his best to help out, but at the time his mindset on his Semblance would have limited him to fleeting visits rather than living with Tai and the girls. He simply loved them too much to want to risk Misfortune hurting them.
That and Qrow was raised by bandits, a rough upbringing where he was made to feel like a bad luck charm. I'm not entirely certain he'd have seen the problem with Yang having to raise Ruby. There is a story in the Yang official manga anthology where Qrow acknowledges kid!Yang has every right to be angry about being burdened with the responsibilities of grown ups, but how canon those anthologies are is ambiguous.
One thing for sure: both Yang and Ruby were familiar with Qrow being drunk, and having to deal with that, although never as bad as it got in Volume 6.
And yes, Ruby does talk about Qrow teaching at Signal, and having taught her to fight, and that Tai taught Yang, but that does not mean they were a happy family living together while that happened. Sorry, this family has been haunted and broken ever since Summer disappeared, and the cracks appeared when Raven noped out of there to be a bandit queen.
I've mostly talked about how Yang was affected. But Ruby was too. Sure, she had more of a childhood than Yang did, because to some extent Yang made sure of that. Chances are Ruby got good at pretending things are fine when they aren't. That and Ruby is quite possibly socially awkward for a reason: she was at least partly raised by a child only two years older than she was. Yang did her best, I've no doubt about that, but there's no way she knew what she was doing.
Why does Yang seem comparatively normal if she at least in part raised herself? Because she's good at blending in and wearing masks. She'd have to be to avoid raising suspicions with her teachers about the situation at home, because Tai couldn't have been the only one who afraid about the kids being taken away. One of Yang's worst nightmares must've been about being taken into care by social services and separated from Ruby. Presuming of course that Remnant has social services. It surely has to have something because of the likelihood of those orphaned by Grimm attacks, in addition to the more usual family breakdowns.
In conclusion: this is such a messy family, and as has been noted by @one-real-wrimonkey that's part of what makes them so interesting (sorry, I hope you don't mind being tagged).

love calcified.
(rambling about loss under the cut)
I lost my cousin Wayne to complications from the AIDS virus when I was a teenager—to be clear, a very long time ago. Raised for half of my childhood with a single parent, cousin Wayne (who was only six years younger than my mom) helped to raise me. He lived in Toronto with his partner, and they would take me when my mom needed a break. His home was always warm and he always made me feel loved and special. As I grew up, he would take me shopping, buy me trinkets and books that I loved. He never forgot a birthday, and when I was a tween, he bought me a subscription to Seventeen magazine, because he knew how grown up it made me feel.
When I got to high school and my closest friend was the only gay person out in my school, he offered to email him back and forth to make him feel less alone.
He was unfailingly kind and funny and loving.
When cousin Wayne died, we didn't know it was happening until it was over. He tried to save us the grief. He didn't want us to remember him in death, only in life. He was, and is, one of my favourite people.
Sometimes I think about how he lived with AIDS for nearly 15 years and how close he was to living until they found proper treatment. I guess it doesn't matter, you can't change the past.
More often than not these days, I find myself thinking about him. Maybe it's because I'm older now than he was when he died, or maybe because being older in general makes you think about these things. I think of him every time I see an older gay man, or a piece of art by Keith Haring, or a post on Tumblr about the AIDS quilt. When I look on my dresser and see the bracelet he bought me when I was eight. When I see a copy of the Guinness Book of World Records or walk through the Village. He's impossible to forget, but I wouldn't want to.
I wonder if he would like me as a grown up, or if we would have lost touch over time. I wonder if he would have had kids or married his partner when gay marriage was legalized. I wonder if I would spend summer nights with him on a patio, drinking and laughing together. If my mother would have been different had he been able to stay around.
I miss him and my grief is just as much of a solid mass as it was when he died...but I'll take the grief if that's all I'm allowed. It's alright, it's just love calcified.

When Thancred fights Ran'jit on the First, he goes invisible several times. Each time he does, he becomes weaker. I found myself puzzling about how he was able to go invisible when he can't cast spells, and rogue stealth is not the same as a true invisibility (Ran'jit would have had no trouble seeing through rogue stealth).
So I looked at the abilities and the debuffs:
Perfect Deception is the skill - it conceals him by restricting the flow of life-sustaining aether.
When he's using this skill, he receives the debuff Fading Fast, which places a strain on the body and will cause him to pass out if the debuff runs out before it's removed.
Okay.
At the end of the fight, Ran'jit has gotten wise to him and is able to see through his Perfect Deception, preventing him from using it.
So Thancred steps up his game:
Souldeep Invisibility doesn't just severely restrict the flow of aether - it completely cuts it off. Not only is he risking being knocked out - which would be death for him, because Ran'jit is not going to be merciful - but he's also damaging his body's vital functions. At this point, he's going to die from the strain, not Ran'jit.
But how does it work? Why does it work? How does severing one's aether cause one to go invisible?
Then I remembered: Thancred is a soul. His body is literally corporeal aether in a [pleasing] form to house his soul. His real body - his flesh-based body - remains back on the Source. So by cutting off the flow of aether from his corporeal shell, he basically causes it to dissipate temporarily.
Scary.
But now the question begs: How the hells did he learn to do this? Did he just think it up on the fly? Is it an adaption of a technique he uses when he has a flesh-based body? What does it do then? Can he still use it when he's in a flesh-based body? Can he still strain his soul to go invisible?
The rabbit holes you jump down when planning out a cute gpose scene. XD

i NEED more for kodiak PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏 I DONT CARE WHAT IT IS I JUST NEED IT 😭😭
A/N: Thank you so much for this wildcard, Anon! I'm working on another request (which should be out in a couple of days) and this was really helpful in letting me get some plot stuff out of the way first. I really hope you enjoy!
Bite Me - Part Three
Summary: It's getting harder to keep your secret relationship secret. Mainly because Kodiak can't keep his hands to himself.
Content: Secret relationship, fear of getting found out, age difference (reader is over 18)
Part One
Part Two
The second day of your trek to freedom starts off badly. Kodiak berates Mari for falling asleep on guard duty, Natalie stands up for her and it turns into a blistering argument. By the time you set off, everyone’s on edge. You pick your way down the mountainside and there’s a brief ripple of something – hope? Alarm? – when you find the remnants of a campsite: flattened grass, the charred remnants of a fire. Natalie crouches to poke at a piece of charcoal, crushing it between her fingers.
“This is recent. A few days maybe.”
You all exchange worried glances. If there are more people out here they’re an unknown quantity: even one stranger could tip the balance.
“More like a week,” Kodiak catches up to you, Travis and Akilah trailing him. “Ask me how I know.”
You startle and then feel stupid because of course it’s his campsite. Natalie straightens, flushing angrily. It’s not like her to make mistakes but you’re all wound tight, bracing yourself for the worst, whether it’s a wolf attack or Shauna’s retribution.
“This is where we would have camped last night if you’d all been able to keep pace,” Kodiak adds, unhelpfully. The way the others are bristling in Nat’s defence makes you nervous. Last time you all found one person to focus your frustrations on, that person ended up dead. You suspect, if it comes to that, Kodiak will take a few of you down with him.
“You’re the one who wanted to hike for nearly twenty hours.” Nat bites the words out. Her voice drops low and gravelly towards the end and the others get still, the way animals hide when they sense a storm coming. Nat’s accent only comes into play when she’s right on the edge, clinging onto her temper with her fingernails. Travis moves to flank her: he isn’t exactly aiming the crossbow yet but he’s holding it in a pointed kind of way, as though that could change quickly.
“My bad,” Kodiak says, looking unconcerned. “Here I thought it’d be good to put some distance between us and the cannibals – sorry, the other cannibals – before we slept. Maybe for you lot, waking up with someone gnawing on your leg is no big deal. I mean, it’s not like you’re the one who’s going to die if they catch up to us–”
You feel the air turn thick. There are a lot of things you’re all so careful not to say out here and Kodiak seems to delight in saying them, testing things until they break. He doesn’t understand yet how ugly things can get and how quickly things can tip over. You need to shut him up before someone else does.
“We’re all going to die if they catch up to us.” You step between him and Nat: at this point, you’re not sure which one of them you’re shielding. “You’re lucky Shauna doesn’t care about you. The rest of us will suffer.”
The corner of Kodiak’s mouth quirks up, halfway to a smile. His focus is solely on you now, eyes darkening with interest. You feel breathless, remembering last night.
“Great pep talk,” he tells you drily. “Hey, if soccer doesn’t work out, you could give the cheer squad a try. I hear the uniforms are better.”
His eyes crinkle at the corners a little and you can tell he’s daring you to start something, setting you off just to see what you’ll do.
“None of us slept very well last night.” You keep your voice reasonable, placating: your friends standing behind you probably think you’re playing peacemaker. You fix Kodiak with your most don’t–fuck–with–me glare and rub your shoulder, hooking the collar of your shirt out of the way with your thumb to let him glimpse the lovebite you’ve been carefully keeping hidden. Your heart is hammering in your chest. “Everyone’s tense. Let’s not make things worse than they need to be.”
Kodiak grins, wolfishly, all teeth. He steps forwards, getting right in your face. “Is that right?”
For a moment, you think he might actually call your bluff and start something, right then and there.
“Do. Not. Fucking. Test. Me,” you tell him in a low voice.
Kodiak reaches out to brush your hair off your shoulder. You pull away, guiltily, afraid of what it’ll look like to the others, not realising that you practically recoiling from him looks worse. You hear Nat snarl and start forwards behind you, accompanied by Travis’s “hey, what the fuck–”
“You had a spider.” Kodiak pretends to brush something off your shoulder and raises his hands in innocent mock surrender. “You’re right: everyone is tense. Better save our energy for later.”
He strolls off, knowing that you have no choice but to follow him.
“Are you okay?” Akilah asks once he’s out of earshot. “You look kind of um…”
You don’t want to think about what you look like right now.
“He is such a fucking asshole,” Mari complains, slipping her arm through yours. “Remind me why we brought him?”
“He’s the only one who knows the way, Mar,” Akilah reminds her.
“Ugh. He totally has it out for both of us.”
You tense. “He’s barely spoken to me.”
“No, he just weirdly glares at you. Like a lot.”
“You didn’t notice?” Akilah asks, her brow creased in concern.
“No, I mean…” you stammer.
“Maybe he likes her.” Misty chirps at your elbow. For once, you don’t even mind her sneaking up on you.
“Ohmygod Misty.” Mari’s voice is heavy with disgust. “Stop projecting your weird old man fetish onto the rest of us.”
None of you really want to think about Ben, so mercifully the subject drops. You walk in silence, barely listening to them. Your thoughts draw back to Kodiak. Just because he enjoyed the challenge doesn’t mean you’re not going to pay for it later.
A little after noon, you hit the next roadblock. Kodiak stands looking out over an uneven expanse of rock. You can tell from the set of his shoulders that he’s frustrated.
“Rockslide took the trail with it,” he tells your group tersely when you catch up to him. “We’ll have to backtrack, cut through the valley and up the other side.”
Nat surveys the rocky scree. You guess she’s thinking the same thing you are: you might make it but the ground will be treacherous and none of you have decent shoes.
“We’ll lose a lot of height,” she comments. Going uphill is a long, difficult slog and losing altitude seems like a waste.
Kodiak shrugs. “That’s why the trail was up here.”
Natalie glances at the green valley below you. This high up, you’re looking down onto treetops.
“Is it dangerous?”
“Everywhere out here is dangerous.” Kodiak rolls his eyes. You bristle at that: as thought Nat – as though any of you – needs to be told the Wilderness isn’t safe. “Still better than what’s behind us.”
None of you have much choice except to turn back. Covering the same ground twice is dispiriting but at least you’re walking downhill this time. It’s unseasonably hot for September and mostly people walk in irritable silence. Everything starts to look the same: you’re starting to wonder if you’ve veered off course when you see a stream you passed earlier, falling like a bead curtain over a rocky outcrop and pooling into a natural basin. Kodiak takes pity on your group because he lets you stop to drink and soak your feet. Some of the others strip off their outer layers, soaking them in the water, wringing them and letting the damp fabric cool them down. You wish you could join them. There’s a natural cave behind it and you wander into the cool dark. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it goes back further than you’d think.
“Not joining the wet tshirt contest, huh?”
You didn’t hear Kodiak approach.
“I might if someone hadn’t left a mark,” you tell him irritably.
“Hey, you started it.” He indicates the spot on his shoulder where you bit him. There’s a faint crescent shaped smear of blood on his shirt. You hope the others haven’t noticed. “At least I was nice about it.”
“Speaking of nice,” you say, rounding on him. “Do you think you can ease up on the others for five fucking seconds?”
He catches your wrist. “I mean, if you want to improve my mood…”
You jerk your arm free. The rocks are slick underfoot and you almost fall. Kodiak steadies you and doesn’t let go, one hand on your elbow, the other resting on your hip.
You glance towards the cave entrance. So far the others haven’t noticed.
“Oh so that wasn’t blackmail before?” Kodiak asks, his tone deceptively pleasant. “I can never tell with you: are you flirting or just making threats.”
“You’re one to talk. Which is this?”
He smiles and lets go of your arm so he can trace your jawline with a fingertip, tilting your chin up so you’re forced to face him. His other hand lingers possessively on your hip, one thumb hooked into your belt loop. “See that’s the thing. I think you like it better when it’s both.”
he mortifying thing is, he’s not wrong.
“I don’t think you actually want to be rescued,” he continues. You’re too taken aback to stutter out a protest. Kodiak steps into your space, pushing you with him until your back hits the cool stone behind you and you’re caged in his arms. “I think you’ve been out here so long, danger’s started to feel like home. I think you want more.”
“I know what we’ve been through is some giant fucking joke to you,” you retort. You realise you’re being way too loud and drop your voice into a furious hiss. The worst part is, on some level he’s right; there is no going back to how things were. Either you’re going to die or you’re going to have to live with the knowledge of what you’ve done. “None of us asked for this. I didn’t– I should be a sophomore in college by now.” It’s getting harder to speak coherently. You dig your nails into your arm, willing yourself to keep it together. “I want to go home, okay? I want to be normal.”
You trail off, hating the plaintive note in your voice.
Kodiak scoffs. “We both know you’re a long way past normal.” He shakes his head slightly, studying you, like you’ve disappointed him somehow. “Trust me. Civilisation’s going to bore you to tears.”
“You are such a fucking asshole!” you snap, forgetting to be quiet. You wrench free from his grip and shove him. You have no hope of overpowering him but he takes a step backwards; his expression is amused, humouring you even as you storm off.
“What happened?” Akilah asks, as you nearly knock her and Mari over.
“Nothing! Sorry!” You don’t look round, you just keep heading for the treeline as fast as you can without breaking into a run. You don’t really want to be around the others right now either. You’re all gambling your lives on Kodiak’s ability to guide you safely through the Wilderness: maybe if they’d known his real motivation they wouldn’t have come. Maybe you’ve just put them in worse danger. “I just need to stretch my legs a minute.”
“Um, we’ve literally been walking all day?” Mari calls after you.
When you’re pretty sure you’re out of sight you break into a sprint, until the breath burns in your lungs and you stumble to your knees. You don’t get far – between the hike and rationing what little food you brought, you don’t have the stamina. You just needed to run until you couldn’t anymore, the same way you sometimes used to steal a pillow from the cabin and scream into it. At some point during winter you reconciled yourself with the fact you were going to die out here and all the fear and rage and longing kind of froze over inside you. Now because of him they’re thawing. It hurts.
You take a few minutes to calm down, before you head back. The trees are so thick it’s easy to feel like you’re the only person here. They also, apparently, make it very easy for someone who knows how to be quiet to sneak up on you.
“You can stay mad if you want,” Kodiak tells you, grabbing your arm as though he’s afraid you’ll bolt again. “Whatever: it’s cute. But you do not just run off.”
You try to jerk away but he’s too fast: he catches you around the middle and shoves you into a tree trunk so he can keep you pinned. It’s covered in moss so thick it’s like sinking into shaggy green fur. For all you know, nobody else has ever been here. The two of you could be the first people ever to see this tree. Maybe the last too.
“You realise there could be wolves out here?” He shakes you a little for emphasis and you realise you might actually have scared him a little.
“Whatever.” You try to wrench free. It doesn’t work: he’s too strong and too pissed to let you. You settle for glaring at him instead. “We’ve faced wolves before.”
“And how’d that work out for you?”
You’re hit with the memory of teeth; of half of Van’s face hanging off; of holding her down while the others sewed it up, your hands so slippery with blood you could hardly keep your grip, your sobs blending with her screams.
“I thought I was addicted to danger?” you spit back at him. “What do you care?”
You shove as hard as you can and manage to almost stagger him. Almost.
“Drop the teenage bullshit.” Kodiak leans down to snarl directly into your face. “You made yourself my problem when you begged me to get you off this mountain.”
Everything is so dangerous out here – even more now you’ve fled your makeshift village – that you forget he’s dangerous too. You’d bested him before but only because your teammates had him outnumbered. Out here it’s just you and him.
You know the sensible thing to do would be to apologise, quietly go back with him, and keep giving him whatever he wants once the others are asleep. But you’re not ready to swallow your pride just yet, so you do what you did last time he was threatening you and drag him down into a kiss.
There’s no hesitation this time. He grabs a handful of your shirt and pulls you up onto your tiptoes, so hard the worn fabric rips. You try to pull away, knowing you’ll have to explain to the others, but he follows you backwards, slamming you back into the tree trunk. Kodiak picks you up by your thighs, lifting you so you’re on a level with him and using his bodyweight to keep you pinned in place. You feel a thrill at how easily he moves you, somewhere between fear and desire.
“You going to try this every time you lose a fight?” He speaks the words almost into your mouth, his voice rough. His breathing is fast but nowhere near as ragged as your own. He doesn’t give you chance to answer him before he’s kissing you again.
You hadn’t planned beyond distracting him. His thigh is planted between yours; the seam of your jeans presses into you with a friction that makes it hard to think. You don’t want him to stop. He slides a hand under your torn shirt, to your breast and you bite down on a whimper, afraid the others will hear.
Shit! The thought of the others is like being doused in freezing water. You turn your head to break the kiss and Kodiak follows you, forcing you to twist away from him until your cheek is pressed flat against the moss covered bark.
“Wait. We’ve been gone too long.”
Kodiak goes in to press a kiss to your lips, feathering more across your jaw. “I’m starting to think you get off on sneaking around.”
“Oh sure. I love hiking in layers to cover the marks you left, trying to pretend I’m not sore from last night…”
The way Kodiak smirks, you’re pretty sure he took that as a compliment. You plant your hands on his chest and try to push him.
“Well you weren’t complaining at the time.” He grabs your wrists and pins them either side of your head. “And we both know I could have been a lot rougher.”
His voice is heavy with promise. Despite yourself, you turn to face him.
“I don’t think you appreciate how frustrating it is, holding myself back around you,” he tells you, his voice low and soft. “And I mean, last night: you did kind of owe me.”
There’s a metallic click. You’d know it anywhere: the sound of the rifle’s safety being switched off. You turn and face the absolutely worst person who could be pointing a gun at you right now.
“What the fuck do you mean she owes you?”

Thoughts regarding the Thunderbolts* credits scene under the cut
ETA: turned out to be a long rambling rant, you have been warned!
Tldr: Please don't be hateful to each other. Marvel is ultimately in it for the money, but your fellow fans are real people.
Okay, now I know that there is starting to be a bit of fandom discourse regarding the Sam and Bucky meeting that "didn't go well", the lawsuit, and the New Avengers.
Fine with me so long as it stays all in good fun. But before you decide which character is "right" or "wrong", and definitely before you go all in with the hate, remember that we don't know all sides yet. We don't know yet how the MCU is going to continue with this storyline, or if they even will, considering how many characters are going to be in Doomsday. It's possible that they just show up at a fight, nod at each other, and all fight together with everyone else, Endgame-style, without resolving anything.
But, sometimes, the facts in the comicbooks come into it, and the roster of the New Avengers, as found on Wikipedia, does not include most of the characters in Thunderbolts*. It includes Captain America and Sentry. But in the comics, team membership is more fluid. Members come and go. The idea that there can only be one team doesn't come up a lot. More often there might be a clash of who is the leader.
But the MCU is different. They need to have continuity, and the idea of belonging to a team, expressly telling a new member that "you are an Avenger now" has been given importance. So it is possible that the MCU does really want to make a thing out of this copywrite issue.
If the MCU goes that way, will the determining factor be that one team is backed by the government and one is not? If they try to re-hash the Accords debacle all over again, both Sam and Bucky were Team Cap, against the Accords. So would this bring them together, maybe under yet another name?
It seems to me that CA:BNW had a theme of proving yourself. And Thunderbolts* has a theme of found family. TFatWS, IMHO, had both themes.
With the mass amount of characters which have to be accommodated in Doomesday, I assume that if this is addressed at all, the theme will be more like the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
I would certainly enjoy many long, character conflict driven scenes of Sam and Bucky, but I really don't see that happening in Doomsday.
If it is going to somehow be a major part of the storyline in Doomsday, it is possible that there will be some sort of twist that we can't possibly see coming at this point.
For instance, I thought that the whole point of the entire series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, was the end point, where Sam had decided that he could be Captain America without betraying his core identity, and that Bucky's core identity was a good man who could be accepted by other good people, not only Steve who knew him before he fell into the hands of Hydra. And I thought the final scene of them both together at a cookout with Sam's family and friends, where Bucky seemed to have been fully accepted, and was totally comfortable, was meant to show that they had each found what they were looking for in the support of the other, and that they were now in this superhero thing together. BUT then CA:BNW was released and Bucky was nowhere to be found. That made no sense, what WAS the point of TFatWS then?
BUT, they threw in a scene with a hug and an "I love you, buddy" which made me feel a little better about the situation. At least the good, supportive, friendship had survived and thrived, even if I still didn't understand why Bucky was campaigning for Congress instead of working with Sam. "Maybe it would become more clear in Thunderbolts*" I thought.
Well the joke was on me because no, if anything Thunderbolts*, with no mention or cameo of Sam whatsoever, only made things more confusing as far as the friendship between Sam and Bucky. And then Marvel really punched me in the gut with this argument between the two, and even a lawsuit being brought having to do with the team name.
So my point is, though argument and debate if respectful, are fine, and supporting your favorite, and even coming up with reasons that they may be right, or posts about what they may be thinking and why, are wonderful and creative, please refrain from bringing any real heat or hate into it, because Marvel can do some fucked up shit for no reason at all. Or for reasons that have nothing to do with what fandom thinks is important.
With any of those, ymmv, meaning I know not everyone will agree with my opinions, and that's okay.
Here are some idiot things that I think Marvel has done; not remaking a stand-alone Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo, or at least putting some of Bruce Banner's background into one of the movies. Not coming out with the Black Widow movie sooner. Not making the Hawkeye series, or an independent movie, about Clint's Ronin period. Not continuing the Thor movies in the classical style of the original. Having Steve go back in time and stay there, which invalidated all of the Agent Carter series and the family Peggy had, as well as having him abandon Bucky. Not letting Tony and Bucky come to some kind of reconciliation. Zemo engineered that fight between Tony, Steve, and Bucky to happen just as it did, in order to tear the Avengers apart. They should have written a scene showing that they could work out their issues and not remain victims of Zemo's manipulation for the rest of their lives. They are smarter than that. At some point they should have seen through it and saw it for what it was. What was the point of Tony inventing BARF if he was still going to be a prisoner of past events? Why would it only be used once to show how Tony was still being affected by his parents' death and not used again to help him deal with this new information? Could it have helped Tony if Bucky was the subject of the memory and Tony could see how Bucky was either totally suppressed like a zombie, or actively trapped without any way to control his body or influence events. Did they really need to give Tony a wife and kid only to kill him off? He already heroically did something to save everyone that could have killed him twice before. Did he have to die to finally be seen as a hero? If they hadn't killed him off, there wouldn't be this division in the fandom over RDJ playing Doom now. They should have just recast Kang, instead of leaving the Loki series as a build up to nothing. (Okay, wow, that got super off on a tangent, and on to a rant!)
Writers, directors, actors, producers and editors all try to make a coherent project with certain messages. But sometimes the final product is seen quite differently by the audience. When there are several writers, directors, actors, producers and editors trying to create a coherent series of movies over several years, the chances of the differences in their intentions and the audience's point of view are greater with every film. Actors or characters emerge as fan favorites, and the company leans into that to the detriment of the group dynamics. Actors have chemistry that the company didn't count on, but the audience sees it and runs with it. If the fandom celebrates something that the company finds controversial, they may do nonsensical things or have characters written a different way in order to keep the fanon clearly delineated from canon. And, of course, the company does everything with the ultimate goal of making money. Anything else will be sacrificed to that goal. They don't care if they have to contradict themselves, ruin a character, invalidate a storyline, anything for the money.
So whatever Marvel eventually does regarding Sam and Bucky, know that it might be amazing or it might make no sense at all. So actively being hateful to eachother due to it is a bit reactionary. Again, debate, argue, state your opinions and your corroborating evidence, definitely. But don't try to ruin anyone over it. You don't need to try to run anyone off of the platform, or take your differences onto other platforms. Don't stalk each other. Don't try to take things into someone's personal or professional life.
There is always fix-it fic.

If It's not too overwhelming, can I ask few questions?
Did Mystic Flour tell Dark Cacao about the true nature of Strawberry Jam Sword?
With Dark Choco low self esteem issues as a byproduct of his time with the SJS and COD, do Mystic Flour's Maternal instincts just go haywire with how he neglects himself?
What plan's did Dark Enchantress had with Dark Choco's powers? Did she wish to exploit them in some way or just wanted the power but didn't know for what purpose?
Does Capsaicin Cookie is still Burning Spice's son in Tied to Fate? If so what happened to him?
What is the situation with Tiger Lily in Children of the Beasts?
oooo so many questions!!! I'm going to copy then and sort of answer them one at a time.
Did Mystic Flour tell Dark Cacao about the true nature of Strawberry Jam Sword?
Yes! That is actually what caused Dark Choco to turn violent. Mystic realizes something was off right away but approached it calmly, asking to see the sword like any parent does when their child brings them something new. However, when Dark Choco didn't hand it over like he normally would (he's always been a mama's boy) Dark Cacao got concern. Mystic told him that there was something wrong with the sword. That's when the sword, realizing it have been found out, possessed Dark Choco and tried to attack Mystic, Dark Cacao jump in front to save her.
With Dark Choco low self-esteem issues as a byproduct of his time with SJS and COD, do Mystic Flour's Maternal instincts just go haywire with how he neglects himself?
Oh absolutely, remember Mystic didn't want her son being a warrior, she would have rather him be a healer like her. And just all the pain this path has brought him, and now him neglecting and making it worst, it drives her insane. It isn't just Mystic ether, Dark Cacao feels a horrible mix of guilt and fear, guilt for not realizing the sword was magically earlier and taking it away and fear that he will lose his son again.
What I'm saying is once Dark Choco is back in the Dark Cacao kingdom he likely has three watchers assigned to him at all times. It drives Dark Choco insane, but he can't exactly run away again, as the light of Volition (now bonded to the boy) will rat him out.
What plans did Dark Enchantress had with Dark Choco's power? Did she wish to exploit them in some way or just wanted the power but didn't know for what purpose?
Dark Enchantress truly wanted Dark Choco's power, both his natural power from Mystic and the Strawberry Jam Sword. Dark Enchantress is fighting a war, and Dark Choco nearly kill his father, an ancient (a being who should be immortal) who would have died had his wife not been by his side. That sort of power is exactly what she wants sense she's going up against other ancients, legendary guardians and witches.
Dark Choco powers from Mystic are the powers cookies have nightmares about. With just his hands, Dark Choco could reduce an enemy army into flour. Could threaten the most powerful of monster and cookies alike with an early end. Mystic's powers were the main reason Dark Enchantress didn't target the Dark Cacao Kingdom as much as she did the others, as Mystic doesn't enjoy fights like Spice, she would reduce everyone to flour.
As for the Strawberry Jam sword, it has shown to increase the uses natural power by tenfold, Dark Choco is strong but not strong enough to pierce his father's armor. She can sense powerful dark magic from it. Dark Enchantress is trying to find a way to possible tear away the dark spirit but keep the benefits. If she can it would be given to Red Velvet. But right now, the spirit that haunts the sword is clearly still there and a problem.
Does Capsaicin Cookie is still Burning Spice's son in Tied to Fate? If so, what happened to him?
Yes, Capsaicin Cookie is still Burning Spice's son, however he isn't Golden Cheese (or Cream Cheese)'s son. Capsaicin was made during the 100 years or so that Spice grieves his love. He took some of his dough and life powder and crafted a child, just thinking and praying that he would shine and smiley brightly like Cream Cheese. And he did, Capsaicin was a happy baby, always laughing a smile, the same infectious laugh Cream Cheese had. However, one time when drops him off so he can go pray at his friend's tomb, the cookie doesn't come back. Rumors start spreading about a horrible Spice cookie destroying everything. So little Capsaicin, only a toddler, was locked away.
What is the situation with Tiger Lily in Children of the Beasts?
So, Tiger Lily is still a princess, the child of Royalberry and Jungleberry, the only really difference is she was mostly made with Jungleberry's dough considering her father's wings.
Basically, the story goes is that Jungleberry and Royalberry have a child, and while they announce it, they decided against taking her to any parties or showing her the public, just planning to let her grow up a little. However, the little princess goes missing, sending most of the royals into a panic, first Hollyberry and now the new princess, the kingdom will descend into chaos.
However Eternal Sugar had just finished making Royalberry's little sister, and her powers are going haywire, and she needs to leave. So, they make the painful decision to raise Sugerberry (Princess) cookie as their own and present her as the princess.
So basically, she is still around in game, living in the wilds with Butter Tiger. Princess Cookie is searching for her.

BABYDOLL

DEAN WINCHESTER X F! READER
SUMMARY: You and Dean had a messy breakup but he just can't move on, he just wants you back no matter how hard he tries to find someone else
TW: Cheating but other than that, pretty tame hehe :>>>
BASED ON THE SONG "BABYDOLL" BY DOMINIC FIKE
Your and Dean's relationship was absolutely perfect, he would talk about getting out of hunting with you, settling down, the things Dean never thought with anyone else. Well, it was perfect until you found him with a random girl when you came back to the motel a little bit early.
As the girl stumbled for her belongings Dean just stood there looking like a puppy who knew they did something bad. After the girl left it turned into you just yelling and reprimanding Dean. He didn't argue, he didn't fight it, he knew he fucked up. As you yelled at him he just stared at you with a look of guilt, he didn't try to speak or say it wasn't what it looked like he just stood there.

♫ I can't move on, baby doll Waitin' on calls, flippin' through stations I'm outclassed and it's outrageous ♫

It has been weeks since the breakup Dean has fallen into a pit of despair, drowning himself in hunts, women, and whiskey to distract from his pain as he always does. Sam is concerned for his brother but he knows not to press, he already knows it's about you and Dean will get over you...eventually.
Dean just can't get you out of his head, he doesn't even know what he was doing with that girl, she was nothing compared to you. He really did want to be with you but he just had to mess it up again like he's done with every girl before. He sits at his phone staring at it, wishing you would call him so he could just attempt to grovel for your approval again. Or maybe he was trying to settle his pride and just call you first and run back and beg at your feet for you to take him back but he knew that would be a slim chance, you were so out of his league it was outrageous but you were his little babydoll and he couldnt move on.

♫ Weeks pass and I never grow tired 'Cause I never said never and I barely ever lie I'm on the road to an original place in outer space I didn't make it up But you can't find it on a phone or a globe ♫

in between hunts dean drives for hours just trying to escape the thought of you. he stumbles into random bars searching for someone or something to get his mind off of you. none of it works and everytime he does it it just reminds him of your face when you walked in on him.
he escapes in his mind sometimes trying to remember the good times you had with one another before the breakup.
the two of you would spend hours riding in baby with no destinations just listening to classic rock and air drumming and singing along. he remembers the way you would smile as you stuck your arms out the window and let your hair flow behind you, the way the sun would hit your face making your eyes shine brighter than ever
he also remembers the smaller moments like when you would just lay on his chest and talk nonsense.
he remembers the first time he said I love you to you
the two of you were on a walk through the park and you had stopped to rest on a bench. a bird had approached you and you gave it some of your sandwich that you packed. you looked like a princess and that’s when he really knew.
“I love you, Babydoll” the words spilt before he could stop them
you had turned to him with the widest smile on your face shocked obviously but you had been waiting for him to say it for a while and you immediately said it back. Dean was overjoyed when you said it back, he knew you meant it and that was all he ever wanted. But he had to fuck it up.
that’s always where his thoughts led even trying to remember the good times. back to the fact he was the one who broke your heart, it was all his fault.

♫ And I'll take it all, baby doll Whatever's been weighin' you down ♫

On one of his particularly rough days after a hunt he dropped sam off back at the motel and he walked into another bar. The second he stepped in the bar he felt something, there was a warmer and sweeter atmosphere than the other bars. You were here he just knew it. He scans the bar and what do you know your sitting at the bar, he cant see your face but he senses the tension in your shoulders. he didnt know if you would even talk to him but you were here, he was seeing you again for the first time in weeks, he had to even if you yelled at him again he just needed to hear you one last time.
You were wearing the dress you were wearing when you first met, it was a cute pink babydoll dress and it suited you perfectly, Dean granted you the pet name babydoll because of it. He walked up to you, his head bowed down avoiding your gaze
"Hey, Babydoll" he spoke trying to sound like this was completly normal and he wasnt nervouse for your reaction
he notices how you sit up straighter before you turn to look at him, he notices the bags under your eyes tarnishing your soft features. you must have been taking it just as hard as him. Dean looks at you with a timid gaze. unsure wether he should speak or not.
you speak before him "what are you doing here?"
"I was just passing through town and you happened to be here," he replies hoping that you belive him, it was the truth after all
"oh," your reaction was something he hadnt expected, but he didnt really know what he thought you would do, but he knew what he wanted you to do
"can we talk?" He says after a short silence between the two, he needed to explain himself, he needed her like he needed air, he was suffocation and she was his fix
you simply nod and slide off the stool you were sitting on. The two of you walk outside the summer air hitting both of you. you walk over to the side of the bar and lean against the wall looking down crossing your arms and kicking some rocks
"Im so, so sorry babydoll," he speaks he notices you about to speak and just says "Lemme finish first, please" You simply nod at him
"Babydoll, when I said I wanted a future with you I meant it, I realize it may never happen now that I've messed up, I know I have. But darlin' I love you so much, these past weeks have been absolute hell without you. I've been trying to move on but I just can't babydoll, I need you like the air we breathe and I've been drowning without you around. I don't know what I was even thinking with that girl but the second I saw your pretty little eyes staring back at me I realized just how absolutely bad I fucked up and how much I love you babydoll. So please, please please, just give me one more chance babydoll I'll do anything I just need to have you again, I miss you so much. Please, I cant move on, babydoll" at this point he is begging, he had sank down to his knees in the middle of it begging at your feet for youre forgiveness
"fine one chance, but you better work for my forgiveness," you say this and he instantly gets off his hands and knees and pulls you into a tight embrace picking you up and spinning you showering your head with kisses
"of course, baby anything, ill do anything for you" he sets you down and kisses your forehead "Thank you for giving me another chance, babydoll"
From that day on Dean cherished every moment spent with you like it was his last. He did his best to fix every mistake he had made before. he had already known it before but now he really knew, and he knew that you were the one he was going to leave hunting for as he shoved the small velvet box into his duffle before leaving the motel.
7 yaps: IM BACK YALL!! sorry, I took a little break because I've been busy but I'm here now. ANYWAYS This is dedicated and inspired by my pookies @rileywrites07 , @reneareads, and @kaylynsworld146. this turned out really long for a fic inspired by a song but I just had to have some closure. I really hope y'all enjoyed, I had to make a lot of directional decisions on where this would end I went with a happy ending hope yall like it hehehe :>>>>

How well do you think Class 78 would handle being recruited into defending Last Defense Academy?
Fun mental exercise. Thanks for the suggestion!
(THIS ANSWER CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA 1, BUT NO SPOILERS FOR THE HUNDRED LINE BEYOND THE DEMO)
Makoto Naegi — He wants to believe that he's been recruited for something important, but everything about this is too weird and too fishy. But then he takes basically the same route to get there as Takumi does; when Sirei says that the invaders will go through this school and then destroy their homes, killing all of humanity in the process? That's when he feels like he can't afford to sit back. Because if there's even a chance his family is in danger, he has to fight for them.
Aoi Asahina — Jumps in with both feet on fighting the invaders. She's always been trusting and figures that even if the "last defense for humanity" thing doesn't pan out, then at least she's fighting to protect the rest of her classmates if nothing else.
Sakura Ogami — Has more doubts than Hina but ultimately would rather back Hina up and try to keep her safe, so she buys in and fights for that reason. Still... she's often asking Sirei tough questions and prodding at the edges of the academy, trying to understand what's going on.
Leon Kuwata — Retains healthy skepticism about this whole thing. Extremely hesitant to lay down his life for a cause he doesn't fully understand. Stories like Ultra Despair Hagakure and Danganronpa S have taught us that Leon really tries to approach things rationally. I think that desire for rationality and his overwhelming drive for self-preservation are going to keep him off the battlefield. And unfortunately, he's not going to be doing much good on the inside either. He doesn't have a clue how to investigate the place or have many talents that can serve the team; he's just kind of hanging out.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru — It never takes much to get him to listen to any supposed authority figure. Remember the way he caved in to Monokuma's morning exercises and even started calling him "headmaster"? If someone tells Taka that he has a responsibility to fight and possibly die to protect this place, he's going to do it; "responsibility" is his middle name.
Sayaka Maizono — After an initial freakout where she refuses to fight and just wants to get the hell out, eventually comes to the conclusion that she's probably done harder shit to gain/retain her fame than this, so she caves and fights. After all, if anyone's watching, she's going to need to step up in order to retain her positive standing among the public.
Byakuya Togami — Togami finds it extremely logical that he would be among those asked to be the "last defense for humanity" given his elite status, but he's still HIGHLY doubtful of the whole endeavor. He's not doing it. He will instead be researching the school and trying to figure out what's really going on here.
Kyoko Kirigiri — And speaking of researching the school... Kyoko disappears for extended periods of time while she goes off to investigate the truth behind the entire scenario. How did they actually get transported here, what the hell is Sirei, who are the "higher-ups" giving him orders, what is the true nature of these invaders and the bizarre "hemoanima" powers, etc? It'll be a while before she'll even consider joining any combat; she's VERY busy.
Mondo Owada — Mondo is quick to anger and violence, plus he feels a lot of responsbility to not only the Crazy Diamonds but ALL bikers across Japan. Sure, he's going to start out with threatening Sirei, but won't take much to make him pissed enough at the invaders to finally activate his hemoanima and get out there in the name of defending his homies. And besides, if his "bro" is doing it... he'd better be out there for Taka, too.
Chihiro Fujisaki — Like Hiruko Shizuhara, quickly dives into the computers and records found within the academy. As such, winds up playing a behind-the-scenes support role in the combat rather than actually going out and using a hemoanima. Sees themselves as too "weak" to contribute much in front-line combat anyway.
Hifumi Yamada — As much as he loves the shōnen protagonist vibes of becoming a super-powered anti-alien warrior, Hifumi's not really the kind of person to put himself in that sort of danger. .... At least not until they all learn about the fact that they can be resurrected by the academy's technology if anything happens. And at that point he's like "Well is it really any worse or harder than me staying awake for five days and nights in a row to finish one of my doujhinshis?" So he gives it a shot, hoping this is his chance to be a shōnen hero! Unfortunately, he will soon learn YES, it IS much worse/harder to physically fucking die than he expects. After one experience with that, it's going to be hard to get him back out there again....
Yasuhiro Hagakure — Of course he's not doing this. Come on. He's going to be busy freaking out for a good while, too.
Celestia Ludenberg — And speaking of characters who are absolutely, positively NOT going to be fighting... she might prove useful a few times by providing deceptive strategies to employ against the invaders, but she's not going to be doing anything out there herself.
Toko Fukawa and/or Genocide(r) Syo/Jack — Toko certainly isn't going to want to get out there and is going to be pretty shaken/angered by their forced recruitment, but I think she's eventually going to be overruled by her other half's bloodlust.
Mukuro Ikusaba — Lives for this shit, ofc. First in line to stab herself with a blade to unlock her hemoanima and go to town on invaders.
Junko Enoshima — This one is COMPLICATED. On the one hand, she was probably in the midst of planning her OWN death-dealing despair scenario ala DR1 or UTDP, so now she's of irritated that she got interrupted by someone else's weirdly similar scenario. On the OTHER hand, isn't it delightfully despair-inducing to have her own plans interrupted and pre-emptively ruined like this?? But then, what does she do within the scenario itself? It's certainly not in her nature to go out on the battlefield and fight. But it would probably be incredibly despairful to have to experience a violent death REPEATEDLY at the hands of bizarre, gigantic monsters. But also, wouldn't it be amazing to see the entire world destroyed and see everyone's despair as all their loved ones are slaughtered??? So maybe she shouldn't fight at all and try to ensure the others also fail. But wait; wouldn't it be more satisfying a form of despair if she DID fight the invaders with all she had and ultimately still failed to prevent it when they prove they are stronger than she is??? Then she could not only watch the despair of her classmates, but also experience the despair of her own failure! In the end I think she's going to play both sides a bit by totally supporting Mukuro and telling her to give her all against the invaders, but then she simultaneously will play the role of the fashionista who doesn't want to fight, keeping her own analytical skills out of the equation while she watches the slaughter from inside the academy. And her Ultimate Analyst skills are going to help her to ascertain the whole truth behind what's going on well before anyone else can. Knowing those dark truths first and then not telling anyone, not even her own sister, about what's actually behind all this... having to carry that knowledge alone... how despairful. And how delightful it will be when the rest of her classmates must face the despair-inducing truth...
