1. it’s 1 AM for me but i just posted today’s kinktober fic 😭 i couldn’t post it earlier cause i was extremely busy today and i literally just finished it, but i promised i’d post a daily fic this week so i didn’t wanna put it off. anyway i hope you like it!

I’m sorry Americans but beans on toast is amazing actually. It is:

- a hot meal

- filling (it gives you lots of tasty carbs)

- 1 of your 5 a day

- cheesy (people who don’t have cheese on top are weird, it’s so nice with cheese)

- CHEAP. I am a student. It’s nice having another cheap dinner aside from tinned pasta and instant noodles. I reckon the price breakdown is roughly : 40p tin beans, of which you use half, probably 10-20p worth of sliced bread, a bit of butter, and cheese, which you likely own already. It’s so quick and easy for a filling, hot, meal.

Downsides:

- if you don’t like it when the toast is a bit soggy? (I find this can be solved by eating faster)

In this utterly objective review I find that beans on toast is the best, and all of you are wrong

(this is mostly tongue in cheek, but I do want to defend beans on toast. I feel that it is misjudged by the better part of the internet, and people should really try doing an afternoon of gardening in the winter in the uk and see how you like it then (saying that I eat it semi regularly because of the reasons above and I mostly stay inside))

My local library system has their version of a “Wrapped” that shows you how much money you saved. Look at that number—and it was a slow reading year for me!

Read books through your library before you buy them to see if you enjoyed them enough to own.

Sick of movies being passed around every streaming service and you missed out on watching a movie you were in the mood for? Your local library might have the dvd or blu-ray OR even offer it via streaming instantly.

Audiobooks are expensive as shit and big companies are making bank off of them (Amazon and Spotify). If only there was a way to enjoy audiobooks without giving money to these companies… oh wait, you can get them through your library.

If you want to shove it to big companies and streaming services and capitalism as a whole, use your local library!

Hey guys, just wanted to thank everyone again for all the donations. I appreciate all of you so, so much.

Arthur has a silly haircut where his chin and his cheeks are shaved and it’s helped me keep his face dry and clean so there’s no infection.

We did have a scare tonight where he started salivating so much after dinner that I was convinced he was choking on something.

It was a pretty scary experience for both of us. For me because I thought he was going to die. And for him because I forced his mouth open and swept my finger through there to try to find a stuck piece of kibble.

Thankfully whatever happened passed in just a few seconds and he’s back to normal (albeit very annoyed with me).

I’m going to talk to Doc about this tomorrow and see if he has any recommendations until Arthur can get into Madison for his appointment. However, I’m thinking he might have to become a strictly canned food guy for the next month.

I like to think that Curly and Jimmy had parallel lives on earth.

That Curly was an only child and his parents died shortly after he became a captain. They got to see his biggest accomplishment but he had no one to really celebrate it with after. Jimmy has siblings and his parents and they didn’t care when he got the co-pilot job cause he’s just the back up. Sure they’re happy for him but no reason to celebrate.

They could both barely afford rent. That’s how it is that late in capitalism and the world the live. The difference is Curly could down size, Jimmy would end up down on the curb. Jimmy had flings and Curly had partners. Both fleeting but Curly pulled away and they left Jimmy.

I like to think they lived parallel to each other in a way they both noticed. Curly felt a kinship and Jimmy felt resentful. Curly worked to make a good deal with what he had and Jimmy scorned his dealt cards and wanted the hand he thought Curly had made.
